Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Worst food I have had. Greasy and bad taste. Wait staff didn't care or seem to want us there. Never going back. This review should get negative stars!!! Not even worth 1 star!!

This restaurant is an **Absolute Delight**. The waitress seated me away from a large party (someone's birthday) and handed me a beautifully laid out menu. Then she brought chips and salsa that were freshly made. Just the right combinations of ingredients. I ordered the beef fajitas and these were outstanding. This is a local restaurant and every bit as good as anything I've ever eaten. Highly recommended!!!

I stopped here while I was on the road enjoying the fall colors. It was a Monday and I was the last customer that night. The restaurant was clean and the staff was welcoming. The restaurant has an authentic feel to it. The chips and salsa were the best I had in a Mexican restaurant in the states. The food was delicious; I had a shrimp fajitas. I expected lower prices as I was in a small town but maybe that's not necessary the case. Big and filling portions though.

The only thing I could find wrong with this place is that the front door was hard to open! Everything else was excellent: chips, salsa, margarita (a tad sweet), enchiladas verde (!), service, atmosphere and price. Muy Bien Amigos.

Upstairs smelt like sewer gases. Went here for my nephews birthday, the food came out cold and the birthday boy's burger was a cold patty and bun. Disappointing for the price!

Flat amazing ! Had the mar y Tierra and it may be one of the best meals I ever had. My friends had carne asada and it was amazing as well! Do not miss this place !

Great staff, very attentive. They have the standard amercianized versions and they also have mui authentico plates of Mexico. The Auguas Chiles will rock your socks off if you seek "hot".

Used to be good food and inexpensive; now it's good food and expensive. No more combo plates on the menu and most entrees are up in the $15 and higher range. Just not the locals place that it used to be. Try the guys down the street at Fiesta Vallerta better buy for the dollar.

My husband and I stopped in on a scenic drive through western Colorado. We were greeted and seated immediately. Clean restrooms--wahoo! Food prices a little high for portion but maybe that is to be expected in small town. Chips were great--fresh and crisp. Salsa was wonderful. I had the shredded beef taco salad which was a bit heavy on the meat juice. My husband had ground beef "super enchiladas". They were pretty standard, he says. Altogether it was a nice environment and a nice rest from driving.

I love El Tapatio. Staff is friendly, good food and good margaritas. I like ordering the meal that comes with 1, 2, or 3 things (I like the chimichanga or enchilada) with beans and rice.

I love Mexican food and eat it often. I was on a long road-trip visiting many national parks with my significant other and most commonly when we stop in a town, we look for the Mexican restaurant and try it out. Most of what we find is fairly mediocre, but El Tapatio does not fit that mold. To put it simply, we had the best veggie enchilada and mole sauce dish (Mole Chimichanga) we have ever had in our lives. The margaritas and chips&salsa were amazing as well. If you want Mexican food and are in the area, come here and you won't be disappointed.

We are always nervous when traveling and asking for a good time place to eat. Everyone has different tastes. So we were referred to this place and oh my yummy it was delicious. They had a margarita special and sometimes with those "specials" the margarita can be a bit watered down. Not this one! My husband ordered the three enchiladas platter. All had different sauces so the sampling was great. I ordered a 2 combo with a chili reliability and shredded beef chimichanga. Seriously the best rellano I've ever had. To finish everything off...sopapilla's. Again so good. Hubby said he didn't want dessert but when it came he sure has his fair share. Cute place, friendly staff and great food!

Fine dining comes to Delta! The food is excellent, just like at the Grand Junction and Fruita locations. I noticed they don't have cabeza tacos, one of my favorites, which is my only negative. I went with the carnitas platter for $8.95 and it was wonderful. It comes with tortillas, rice, beans, a tiny salad, a fried jalapeno and a generous helping of carnitas. Be sure to ask for a squeeze bottle of their insanely good taco sauce, it's not on the table and they didn't bring it with the meal. These guys really know how to do carne asada right. We were greeted and seated within seconds of entering. The decor is very similar to the Fruita location; inviting and clean. I especially like the vintage tin ceilings. Our server was attentive and friendly. Lucky you, Delta!
