Nice little place to satisfy your health-conscious munchies. Cool, laid-back hippie vibe in the restaurant and attached health, art, clothing store. We ordered the chicken salad panini on oat nut bread and it was very flavorful and filling. It came with a quinoa salad and some blue corn chips. I'll be back on my way to the HIGH country. PEACE

The inside has a very welcoming, local feel to it. Since I went for breakfast, I ordered a Mexican hot chocolate (yum!) and an omelette with sausage and sourdough bread. Now, I love breakfast. This was one of the best I've ever had! I'll definitely be stopping here next time I'm driving through.

Was surprised to find this place on our road trip back from Durango. The food looked like it was taking a long time, so we got a smoothie and got out. The only bump in the visit was this stressed out woman that told me twice to "wait" as I was standing in line waiting. I think my energy made her nervous, because I was just standing there.....waiting. A really nice young man asked me if I was going to get food to go and as I was answering him, she snapped at me AGAIN to just "wait." I love places that offer organic and local, so I'm giving it 4 stars. Anywhere else where someone snapped at me at like that, I would have left and given 1 star. Hopefully she has a better day!

Found it randomly on a road trip through Colorado. Got myself a healthy juice and the cutest hoodie. Wish I had more time to poke around.

A very authentic place. They advertise themselves as vegan friendly, however, there are only a few vegan things. The owners are friendly, while the staff is somewhat different. They have free wireless and outdoor sitting. Closed on Wednesdays otherwise are open from 9 till 18:00.

The waitress was super nice. The place itself very fun lots of art on the wall and very clean. The food was on the healthy side, which we like, just don't go in expecting regular nachos! We liked it!

Fun funky place. We stopped on our way from Denver to Durango for coffee and could not have been more pleased. Lots of fun local artsy gifts, great food and good coffee. worth a stop

Absolutely love this little hippie oasis in Colorado! We didn't eat here, but did have quite a few amazing espressos and did some gift shopping. They have a small grocery section with all the delicious hippie food you probably can't find at the normal grocery store in town (quinoa, nutritional yeast, etc). They also have a small selection of art/wares/clothing from local artists and producers. I took home a soft as sin knitted hat, classy coffee mug, and wood carved wolf statue. The employees are all sweet and helpful too. If I'm back in Del Norte anytime soon I'll definitely be back!

Passing through and stopped by here. Wonderful staff and great food. Looks like it's for sale...let's hope the new owners don't change anything. Highly recommended.

If you're passing through Del Norte you absolutely MUST stop here! The cafe has great choices (including lots of vegan and vegetarian options!) ranging from fresh juices, smoothies and coffee to breakfast burritos (served all day!) to burgers and other sandwiches. There's also a store with lots of local artwork as well as fresh, packages and frozen groceries. I always make it a point to visit when I'm in the area, and you should too!

I'm in love with this little place!! Beautifully built and the healthiest food we found so far on our 3 week trip!! For a coffee- the dirty copper was a Delish treat! I also had a fish taco that came with organic blue corn taco shell and fresh salsa. They also had fresh juices and real smoothies as well that were awesome!! Cool, beautiful cordwood built place!

There are few places that offer delicious, food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Recently drove through after 4 years and was ecstatic that this place was still there. It is a bit higher priced, but you get what you pay for and you can be assured the food is fresh, organic (if you like that), and someone cares about quality. I don't give 5 stars easily. This is a hidden gem.

Lovely eclectic pitstop with wholesome foods. I always stop here on my way in and out of the San Luis valley.

We stop here on a regular basis and just love the Huevos Rancheros. In fact, the burritos, coffee and juices are all excellent! When I leave I don't just feel full, I feel good. And having a nice selection of jewelry, incense and oils doesn't hurt either when you're looking for a souvenir from Del Norte. Don't forget to pick up a copy of the Crestone Eagle!

I drive from Durango to Denver monthly and never pass an opportunity to stop at Peace Of Art! It's the greatest little gem you'd never expect! Great little natural food store AND awesome cafe!

We were driving through from southern Colorado and desperate for a good latte. We saw the espresso sign and this place looked SO cute outside - and so promising - so we stopped. Sadly, it was the worst tasting latte imaginable - not even sure they made espresso - it just tasted like old coffee. Even worse, after my husband placed the order, the woman handed him an ipad where he could sign for the charge and noted "you can add the tip here" - and the only options were for $1 or $2 - this happened before he had even received the latte and tasted it. So he paid $5.57 for the worst latte of all time. Really disappointing as we really wanted to love this place and we would have been happy to tip generously for something that tasted even decent.

A wonderful if unexpected find on the way to Durango. The cafe had all imaginable coffees, fresh juices etc as well as vegan fare. Also a very quaint store and art gallery. Worth a visit if not a meal

Unexpectedly Fantastic!! Superb lunch, organic foods, freshly pressed juice bar, unique beers, desserts... wow!! We had the daily soup and grilled turkey paninis that were great! What a cool atmosphere and great people, too! Highly recommend.

My mom and I saw this place on our way to Mesa Verde and decided to stop on our way back. My mom had the smothered veggie burger and I had the chicken salad sandwich, both of us has the mixed berry smoothie. Food was amazing and the staff all very friendly! My mom is vegan and finding good homemade food that caters to that isn't always the easiest when on the road so this was perfect! I only get chicken salad sandwiches when they're homemade and this did not disappoint. Will definitely stop here again next time I pass through!!

This place is amazing!! The food was so flavorful. We had a panini with quinoa and the mixed berry and smoothie. We honestly wanted more after we had finished. The place is so artsy made out of adobe the bottles within make it so colorful, the decor is so pretty. The staff is great!!

We found this cafe through Yelp while on a recent road trip. We were feeling pretty desperate for a meal since we'd missed breakfast and it was well after noon. In other words, we were starving. That's the only reason we decided to try this place, because from the description and reviews, we were afraid our only options would be vegan and gluten-free, which often equals yuck, especially in the hands of amateurs. Well, it was good! Not "good because we were starving and desperate" but actually good. Despite the hippy-dippy name, the hippy-dippy roadside signs and the Yelp reviews that only mentioned vegan food, this place serves a wide variety of foods, including very good sandwiches containing turkey, ham, tuna salad, chicken salad, etc. The soups (which I think are vegan) were excellent, especially the "cream of celery" that didn't contain any cream. What a nice surprise. Only downside: they appear to be struggling (the place is for sale) and we were asked to "check out the shop" at least three times during our meal.

This place is amazing. We found it by accident on a routine road trip from Denver to Durango. I've been here about six or seven times in about 3 years, and while the food experience isn't quite as personal as the first time or two, I'm extremely happy to see them grow and get more business. Local, organic, amazingly amazing, run by people who care. That's how you get 5 stars from me.

What a wonderful oasis in an unexpected place-- my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this gem at the end of a week long camping trip. We were super hungry and expecting to have to eat at a hamburger and malt shop (which is sometimes just the right thing) but ended up at the Peace of Art where we enjoyed a delicious and wholesome, organic meal. Great people hanging around and a fun shop filled with tasty, healthy treats, essential oils, and a unique book collection made it a great stop on our long drive home. I highly recommend this spot and will be stopping back on future adventures in southern Colorado.

What a lovely hippy-dippy place in the far flung southern region of Colorado. I had a homemade bean burger and a vanilla soy frapp which was all made fresh to order while I waited. This is a a cafe and a shop - and they do have some nifty things to offer - including mismatched socks, which I felt compelled to buy. I mean, they are deliberately mismatched geddit? The couple who run the place, as well as their staff are all lovely and friendly and happy to chat while milling around, or happy to leave you in peace, no pun intended. If you find yourself in thearea, it wouldn't hurt to stop buy and show as much gratitude to them as they do to you.

The Peace of Art Cafe is a tucked away Gem in the little town of Del Norte Colorado. It has tasty home made organic food and is artistically decorated. THe front has a store with cool items from all over.

It is an oasis, especially for those not inclined to eat goat meat, or boar. (They have nice vegetarian options.) Unfortunately, the prices are a little more akin to Whole Foods' then southern Colorado, but they do what they do well and deserve to be supported.

Great gem in the middle of nowhere with quite a bit of personality. The people and food were great. The breakfast burrito was both filling and delicious. A great place to stop on your next ski trip to Wolf Creek.

This was a real find for this part of Colorado. The restaurant is a cozy, well-decorated place with food you can't find nearby. They offer vegetarian and gluten-free options. There is an adjacent shop with clothing, misc., and health food offerings. The staff is welcoming. There is also an inn. I had a very fresh organic salad, half sandwich and iced chai. It was all good. So glad I waited 'til Del Norte for a late lunch rather than grabbing something more pedestrian in South Fork.

A one of a kind genuinely unique place. The food is organic and tastes great. Fresh juice bar, smoothies, milk shakes and much more. Hands down best Huevos Rancheros around!! Only place in town to get a organic cup of espresso (full espresso bar) they use Colorado local coffee and espresso!! Also have a great gift store with things from all over the world and organic produce and a grocery section.

This was our second visit and it was as wonderful as the first time two years ago. We pulled off the road because of the funky sign and the red Willys pickup. Food is tasty and fresh. Very friendly atmosphere and the cord wood constructed dining room is worth the trip!!

This is a quirky, colorful, eclectic outpost in an otherwise nondescript drive (aside from the extraordinary scenery of course). Amenities along this route are lacking until this place where you step into a classic groovy deli, store and hostel. Not fast food (four sandwiches took maybe 15-20 mins to prepare). But quality of food and service is excellent - fresh, veggie and meat options and very tasty (we loved the panini). plenty of nooks and crannies placed throughout the small space offer health food, bulk spices, clothes, trinkets, sculptures and curios. colored bottles on their side that go through the thick adobe walls and lend color and whimsy. Totally worth a stop.

This kooky restaurant is definitely worth your time! It has a truly entertaining selection of groceries and goods for sale, which fit perfectly with the funky decor. We only had smoothies and brownies, so we can't comment on most of the food, but what we had was great! The staff was friendly and helpful.

The Peace of Art Cafe is located with the same building complex as the Organic Peddler on the Edge and the La Casa Bonita Inn. And if I can believe one of their postings, for around $800,000, this multifaceted building can be yours. This hippy-dippy place is located on the West edge of Del Norte and you really can't miss it. The Cafe is located in back and also features an outdoor patio. And unlike the "gift shop", there's lots of room to sit and relax. The coffee is good, the menu items are tempting, the space is comfortable and inviting, and the guy at the counter yesterday was interesting, friendly, and welcoming. The folks here also support a variety of local causes and provide a lot of information regarding community events. You really should stop by if you happen by these parts.
