I had a great breakfast here yesterday -- Denver Sandwich. The green bell pepper, onions and ham were all nicely grilled and had great taste. Folded into well grilled eggs and put in grilled white bread with some American cheese resulted in an excellent sandwich. The hashbrowns were a little less crispy than I like, but I know a lot of folks like them this way. The restroom is reached by walking through part of the kitchen, giving you a nice view of where the magic happens. Restroom was basic but clean. Waitress and cook were both friendly and appreciative of my compliments. A nice experience with tasty food. Great way to start a day.

Two words: homemade jelly. Great diner/cafe breakfast food. Christine the server is wonderful.

I stayed in Cortez two days to do a race in Shiprock; I left town Sunday morning wanting something substantial in the way of breakfast. On a Sunday, Pippo's is easily accessible in the center of town. At around 8:30 there were about 8 people in there. I sat at the counter. I had a breakfast of a couple of pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee. The pancakes were great; the sausage ok, the orange juice was not fresh squeezed I don't believe but I wasn't expecting it, and the coffee was fine, and refilled promptly. The service was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Folks, that's all i'm looking for in an inexpensive small-town breakfast diner. Got out for about $10; met or exceeded my expectations and would return again.

Doesn't deserve one star. Mushy inedible oatmeal with blueberry pie filling for blueberries. Rude slow servers. all around horrible way to start the day. Wrong bill overpricing. Worst part. I paid to leave hungry. .

Stopped for breakfast on a long road trip. An okay choice; pretty run-of-the-mill food. Pretty cramped and loud on a weekend morning. Seems popular with the locals, but probably mostly because, well, there are other locals. Waitress wasn't super friendly but not overtly rude.

Had breakfast here last Sunday. The omelets aren't really -- eggs are added to sautéed vegetables, cooked, flipped, cooked. But the flavors are good, home-cooked like, delicious homemade jellies are served with the toast, service is cheerful and efficient, and prices are fine. Good choice for breakfast.

Very delicious. We were passing through town and saw the cars outside and imagined it must be a good place to stop for breakfast...and it was. We had chicken fried steak, french toast, eggs and all the sides that come with. The servings are ample and we enjoyed everything! The service was wonderful and the diner has an old timer cafe feel.. It was all good.

What a great little local diner. It's filled with locals and they're all so friendly despite the curious stares. I felt warm here. Breakfast was tasty and just what I needed before hiking through Mesa Verde NP. I got the Breakfast Burrito and it was plenty filling. The prices are quite reasonable. Hell, I even hung out here for 2 hours charging my equipment, drinking coffee, and they were so gracious about it.

Reasonable, quick and tasty food. And not a chain - I go up in the local places whether I'm a local or not. That's how I travel...up in the local scene. Think pretty good basic diner with southwest spin.

Small local and yummy. Great way to fuel up before visiting Mesa Verde. Great diner food, excellent sausage and bacon, WAY better than what you'd get at Denny's. Service wasn't with a smile but was quick and accurate. Will come again :D

This place just gives me the creeps thinking about our experience. #1 you have to walk between the cooking part of the kitchen and the dishwashing station to get to the bathroom.... between employees working. #2 The older lady that waited on us was SO UNFRIENDLY. #3 ordered my eggs over easy. The egg whites were so runny there was almost nothing solid about the egg at all. I apologized to the waitress that I had ordered over easy and she loudly and rudely told the cook to get her some over medium eggs. When I got them the yolk was almost completely solid. I'm sorry but making eggs isn't that hard. Grrrrr.... Was excited to try this spot since we drive by it 4 times per year and it always looked busy. Would much rather go back to Mr. Happy's.

Pippos is your standard small town diner, but with excellent service and delicious food for a great price. Recommend the huevos rancheros, but arrive hungry!

Wow! I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with gravy for breakfast. It took some time to get my food but so worth it. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. What a great local restaurant with warm environment! I will stop again if I make it to Cortez, CO!

As far a a little dive diner goes this is the best I've had. It's small for sure, and if you don't keep your eyes opened you will miss it, but it's totally worth the stop. I ordered a ham sandwich here and the ham was real HAM, not processed deli meat, but ham cut off real spiral cut ham. It was pretty excellent! I wish there was a Pippo's where I live.

Eggs and hash browns were good but my porkchop was way overcooked and tough.

Reasonable service considering how busy they were. Coffee was disapointingly flavorless. Breakfast was ok but not special. Overall not that good..

Perfect steak and egg breakfast at a reasonable price. Place was crowded and obviously filled with lots of happy locals, and a scattering of tourist like me.
