I've been here for lunch several times and at one time thought it was fantastic; however, either it is not completely fantastic or you just need to stay away from the dessert. My friend ordered the cheesecake and the store-bought cake came out tasting like freezer burn. Another time we friend found mold in the Apple Crumble. Hmm...not too appetizing for such a swanky place. Unfortunately my stomach has not let me back since.

We had dinner at The Warehouse Friday night. It's early Sunday morning and I'm still daydreaming about that meal. We made reservations for 7 (didn't seem like they were needed as the place was pretty empty) and were promptly seated. We got bread and a bottle of water to split, except that I wanted tea. It's still a nice touch. The waitress helped me decide between the bison and the ribeye (the bison won out). The bf got a Warehouse salad and bison carpaccio because he was in the mood to live dangerously. Me, not so much for the raw meat. I mentioned that I was going to eat some of the bf's salad so the waitress brought out 2 plates of it, already split. Nice nice. It was greens, cranberries, cashews, feta, oranges and balsamic vinaigrette. Awesome. Then the meals came. My bison (sauteed with mushrooms, whisky, cream, demiglace and a "kiss of maple") was SO. FREAKING. GOOD. Oh, and it came with a leek, some other onion-ey thing and some gorgeous mashed potatoes. I am so sad that I'm not eating it RIGHT NOW. His bison came out raw, but he liked it. He said it had a lunch-meat consistency and reminded him of soft beef jerky. But not in a bad way, any of it. He said it was really good. It came with toast rounds, asiago, roasted garlic, mustard aioli, and sage pesto. I was afraid to try it what with the whole raw meat thing but he said it was good and it smelled pretty good. Nothing as good as MY food, but nice. I tell you, my food was GOOD. Then we got dessert-the combo. We got the blackberry mascarpone-filled cannoli, the bittersweet chocolate pate and the Boca de Dolce (merengue filled with whipped cream and covered with sliced strawberries and chocolate sauce). The texture on the last one was spectacular. I don't even really like merengue and this stuff rocked my socks. Like I told the chef, this was one of the only times the dinner outshined the dessert (I'm SUCH a dessert person, I swear). Plus he let us book the wine room for our wedding, so yay. :) Obviously we'll be back. I personally cannot WAIT.

Never had a bad dinner here...the chef is a true maestro...a strong performer at the annual Chef's Gala put on by the CS Chorale at the Broadmoor every February. The cost of a cocktail is high, so having one at home will reduce the price of a dinner for two by around $25! That is my only disappointment...otherwise, plan to pay a hefty, but worthwhile price for a great dining experience. And the location and ambiance are suprisingly delightful. An old warehouse with a surprise dining experience hidden inside. GO, TONIGHT...it's worth it.

Wonderful dinner the 1st time. 2nd time ordered the same thing (Salmon) , must have been a different cook, totally different, did not cook the vegetables very well at all, barely cooked raw vegetables, even the rice was hard. The service was good, but when I told them about the vegetables, they said they would tell the cook, but I got no further feedback, thus this review. However thehe service was good, no complaints. The salad was very good. Three stars because I was so blown over the 1st time and had high expectations so I was disappointed this time. Will not be on my A list anymore

Finally got here to see how the new management is doing and they look to be a new contender for best of the Springs. Food was very good for all us at the table. Good wine list. Nice atmosphere.

It's too bad you can't give minus stars as a rating A "warehouse" is a fitting description. Start with the nonexistent parking, a 7-11 has more parking. Continue with the noise level of a high school cafeteria, even when the place was half empty. Add tables that are wide enough to land a 747 - making conversation more than a little difficult. The service staff must have gotten their training with the airlines. We felt like they were trying to rush us in and out. I could understand if the warehouse was full on a Saturday night but it was easily half empty. We were well dressed so it wasn't like we looked like bad tippers. We were not asked if we wanted an appetizer, more wine or dessert. If there were any chef specials it must have been a surprise to the wait staff. Oh, there was food, if you could call it food. I order lamb which was closer to an old piece of mutton. It appeared they tried to make up for the lack of culinary skill by dumping a medley of "local" farm vegetables on the plate. I know that the warehouse is not on the same level as the Broadmoor but people in this town believe this is a good restaurant, look at the other reviews. It was a disappointment for an anniversary dinner, fortunately my wife forgives me. This is just another reason to drive to Denver for a meal or just stay home, where the staff is friendly and food is good.

This place has great ambiance, food, and the wine and martini list is extensive! The service was great, and I just loved the exposed brick old warehouse, turned into restaurant, genius! The showcased art was beautiful and was a great conversation piece over a romantic meal with my Husband.

Great ambiance, the artwork from local artists changes periodically and offers something different to look at. It gives a good vibe. The food is slightly pricey, but amazing. If you're trying to go out somewhere nice and don't mind paying a little bit more, it is definitely worth it. Saturday night, the wine list is 1/2 off, which makes it much more appealing.

Clearly, based on the old reviews, the STANDARDS of this restaurant have gone down lately. That might explain the empty dining room on a Friday night. I wanted to like The Warehouse, I really wanted to, but it just didn't happen. My husband and I were treating my niece and her husband. We wanted to take them to a nice place in their town that they might not go to on their own. I am certain now that they will never go here on their own... They were as DISAPPOINTED as we were. Our starters came, two different SOUPS, a wedge SALAD, and mushroom RAVIOLI and three of the four were heavy, oily and WAY TOO SALTY. Then came our main courses. I ordered on the advice of the waitress who said the seared AHI TUNA salad was great and big enough for an entree or to split. You guessed it, sooo not the case. Fortunately, I thought, everyone else had enough to share. Except everyone had the same OVER SALTED, unevenly seasoned veggies and some WEIRD mashed potato/rice thing. We couldn't tell. They ordered the BEEF, ELK and BISON; all cooked pretty well but again,TOO SALTY. And why all the exact same sides? One bottle of wine was great and one, not so great. Both wines were OVERPRICED, as was most everything. We are happy to spend money on a good meal, THIS WAS NOT A GOOD MEAL. NOT WORTH IT. The chef/proprietor needs to do some serious quality control to save this restaurant's reputation.SEE RATINGS DETAILS ON TOP OF PAGE!

This place is great for dinner. However it is hit or miss for lunch. I waited 20 minutes to pay my bill yesterday and all this after I told the server that we were in a hurry. I will still go back because of the good experiences I have had there but I hope to see better staffing during lunch. They also had an event going on but should have anticipated that or at least have apologized for the snail service.

If ever there was an epitome of nouveau-chic Americana/Chophouse fusion, The Warehouse, ladies and gentlemen, would most definitely be it. The menu has range and quality, rivaled only by that of the most elite Manhattan steakhouses, and that which comes to your table from the kitchen will be all the confirmation you'll need to agree that The Warehouse is the very best in Colorado Springs.

My wife and I escaped for the weekend and couldn't have found a better restaurant. It was a nice and easy walk from our downtown hotel. We were getting nervous that we missed it, but we walked that one block further and found it. We arrived a little early for our reservation, but the hostess sat us promptly. Our waitress was wonderful and had some good suggestions for us. The menu is quite extensive and represents Colorado quite well. Elk, bison, lamb, etc. Anything you want to choose from. The food was quite flavorful and my wife and I kept sharing our dishes. we weren't disappointed. They also have a great wine menu that is the most reasonable wine menu I have seen on all my travels. You can get a great bottle of wine at a reasonable cost. If you are in Colorado Springs, check out the Warehouse. A great dining experience.

Our favorite "go out for a nice dinner" place in the Springs; been here probably a dozen times over the past 4 years. I've never had a bad meal , and the food has always met my #1 criteria -- it has to be better than something I could make myself. Only once did I have something that was close to my homemade version, but it was one of those recipes that's worth it to have in a restaurant vs. making at home due to the time required (beef short ribs). The only complaint I have is they removed their *awesome* fruit and cheese plate from the menu. My wife and I used to get it as an appetizer, enjoy our meal, and still have some left over for a mini-dessert. I don't think they plan on bringing it back, but maybe if people keep asking... A couple bonuses: -- Every Saturday - 50% off all bottles of wine -- Occasional improv comedy in their event space

We visited The Warehouse for the first time during "restaurant week" a few weeks ago. They ran a special here for $55 a couple which included a bottle of wine, 2 entrees, 2 starters and 2 desserts. We were really happy with everything we were served, and the waitress was really nice. The ambience was nice too, very warm and cozy. We were pleased with how many local items were featured on the menu, and the diversity of the menu items. I ended up with the mushroom ravioli which was very tasty and rich. My husband got the beef bruschetta and he really liked that as well. Their desserts were to die for, I ended up with a homemade ice cream sandwich and my husband got a variety of flavored cannoli. If you want to go out and celebrate a hard week of work or whatever it may be, the Warehouse is a good bet.

Just finished lunch at The Warehouse. It has great atmosphere and the wait staff was friendly and johnny-on-the-spot. But my main dish Beef Bruschetta was not any good. The onion in the dish was overwhelming and the dressing made the bread very soggy.

We have been going to the Warehouse since they opened. I have always been a fan and dragged in friends to experience it. Menu is creative. Can be expensive, buit my wife and I often split salads and an entree. Food has been rarely a miss. In fact I never had a bad meal except for my last two which were over the last four months. One dish was a duck that was well done and too dry to eat. Their mushroom soup is very good. We also enjoy their happy hour with half price beers, martinis and appetizers. Given my most recent experience I'm a little wary of their execution, but over 10 years I have been very happy.

My wife and I enjoyed a great dinner there on 3/23/13. The food was tasty and beautifully presented (mushroom soup, a salad, bison tenderloin, a veggie pasta). Kudos to the server, Leslie- she was that rare combination of friendly, enthusiastic, and competent!

So me and my friend went there for a quick appetiizer on our lunch break today so we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was a friendly girl, very smiley, and we right away told her that we had only 30 min to stay. She said no problem, she'll make sure we're out in time. So we ordered our drinks and our meal, which was seared tuna... It took us 15 minutes to get started on making our drinks. Then she left our drinks behind the bar for quite sometime while she went to go look for pickles.... Yes the Tuna came out in a timely fashion right about the time our drinks came out. I loved the salad dressing, and I think it was a Parmesan chip on the side? But the tuna seemed to be lacking in flavor except for the black pepper on the side so I'll probably not get that again. Then after we had finished, it took us 20 min to get our server to cash us out. I've been here before and the service was better, and the food was better. We got the mac n cheese last time, and I wished we would have gotten that this time. That is something worth trying! I've given it 3 stars because our experience before was awesome. So the two together makes 3.

My selections: Bristol Red Rocket Pale Ale - 2 pints French Onion Soup - Cup Orange Chipotle Pork Cider and salsa marinated Colorado pork chop grillbasted with orange chipotle sauce Fried yellow tomatoes, snap peas and apple-cheddar polenta The apple cheddar polenta was the MVP of the meal. I found myself wanting another helping of just the polenta but the pork chop was cooked perfectly. I ate early so it wasn't crowded. Nice atmosphere. Artwork from local and regional artists is scattered throughout. Fine selection of beers and wine. Food was fantastic. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. I highly recommend this place

Great, unique food but a little pricey. Ambience: Second to none. Quiet and spacious. Great artwork on the walls and generally a great place to relax either at the bar or dining at a table. Service: Also terrific. The waiters are attentive but not in-your-face and know the menu well. They are very accommodating and will offer tastes of wines if you are not sure what to order. Food: Wide selection of dishes with some real oddities. I went with friends and we had three appetizers: the rabbit and snake sausage, the mushroom vol-au-vent and the caprese. I found them all to be large and delicious. The sausage was something I was really looking forward to and it was not disappointing, with a very unique flavor (no, it didn't taste like chicken). My only complaint would be that the mushroom dish was on the heavy side and was over seasoned. For main course we had the wild boar, pork shank special and elk steak. The boar was simply fantastic. The other to dishes were, again, a little heavy and over seasoned. The chef could cut back on the fat and salt a little. For dessert we had a selection of 3 including pumpkin and choc-chip cupcakes, creme brulee and cannoli. These were all outstanding. Price: A little on the high side. With 2 glasses of wine the meal above cost $190 before tip. Ouch! In short , some of the dishes were a little heavy in richness and seasoning where more subtle flavors would have been nicer. I'd go there again but it is strictly for special occasions.

Outstanding on so many levels! The space is warm and lovely with plenty of wood, exposed brick and a copper-top bar. The service was fantastic - while I waited at the bar for my dinner companion to arrive, the bartender (who morphed into our waitress later) talked wine with me, let me try one before I picked and generally made me feel welcome. She proved to be just as helpful with the menu when we sat down, offering recommendations when we asked. The food was delicious and sophisticated and, frankly, not what I was expecting from my hometown. (Shows what I know.) We split two small plates - the mushroom-tomato tart and the artichoke-crab cassoulet - and both were flavorful, perfectly cooked and elegantly presented. The desserts were equally delicious, though the creme brulee could have used another minute in the oven. If I had been more in the mood for a full entree there were several on the menu that looked intriguingly tasty. The only downside was the lack of other patrons. We were almost alone in the dining room, which seems such a shame since this place definitely deserves a following.

I have eaten at great restaurants across the globe and barring a trip to Italy or France this is one of the best meals you will ever have in the USA. While the salad was only 4 stars the entree was unbelievable! It was a incredible blend of crazy ingredients that somehow worked even though I would never have thought to use them together. If you in the COS area you would be a fool not to go to this restaurant. We had the elk fillet, wild boar shank, and gnocchi dish and everyone of them was 5 stars. Prices are moderate and service was also 5 stars. Don't be fooled by the fact that this restaurant is never full because it had me concerned; until I tasted the first bite.

We had dinner here with 10 people on Saturday night. Ill start with the bad. The waitress while nice was unknowlegable, and very slow. It took 20 minutes after the table had been seated just to get our drinks. She recomended that my friend order his ribeye medium rare. (great for a fillet, not so good for rib-eye) She was unable to describe any of the cheeses on the cheese plate. The good It was Saturday night which is 1/2 priced wine night. With the discount there is a good selection of wine for less than $15 per bottle. I had a glass of scotch which was more expensive than our bottle of wine. The exotic cream of mushroom soup was very good, as was the soup de jour (Chicken Corn Chowder). The cheese plate ~$15 dollars. Had a selection of 4 pretty good cheeses. I ordered the bison (small plate) which had a delicious cognac sauce, and a very small helping of potatoes. The bison steak was ~2oz so not much food there for $14. The restaurant has a selection of small plates ranging from $10-$15, and full entree's ranging from $23-$35 The desert menu had nothing that looked appealing so the whole table skipped desert.

My husband trusts my opinion so he had me look over the menus of several restaurants in Colorado Springs, and this is the restaurant I thought would be best in celebrate his birthday at (we were visiting from out of state). He enjoyed his food, and in the end that's what matters, but I was disappointed and embarrassed that this is the restaurant I had chose. For the salad, I chose the Wilted Spinach. The vinaigrette was not warm so the spinach was therefore not wilted. The flavors were okay, but the warmth of the vinaigrette would have made all the difference. For the entree, my husband chose the elk, which he thoroughly enjoyed; I chose the bison short ribs. They were not braised long enough to melt the fat, and my gnocchi was hard. It came with a snakebite mole which the server said had tequila and lime to give it a "little zip." Not enough tequila or lime but WAY too much heat. Lastly, for dessert we chose the sampler and selected the pumpkin creme brûlée, espresso mousse, and lingonberry cheesecake. The cheesecake was by far the best. The mousse had a grainy texture though it was very fine, and the creme brûlée came to us ice cold.

Drove down to the Springs for a date at Warehouse on a Wednesday night. The restaurant at 7:30 was pretty much deserted, which sort of put a damper on the vibe for the evening. I have a confession. I...love....carpaccio. Knowing this about myself I jumped on the opportunity to try bison carpaccio for the first time. The plate was gorgeous and full of little delectables to complement the bison. The bison had been smoked, which imparted a lovely bbq-ish richness, however it wouldn't have been better had they used a cold smoking process. The smoking cooked the outer inch or so of the meat, ruining its cold raw flavor. For my main I ordered the boar with chipotle clementine glaze. The plate looked lovely, but the first words out of my mouth were, "Wow, that's a lot of food." For the $27 I expected something more refined. I'm always about quality, not quantity (see my review of Beatrice and Woodsley). Half of the plate was covered in polenta sticks, and the boar itself was pretty dang tough. Now I know that boar by its nature is a tougher meat, but with proper and loving cooking it can be fall off the bone tender. This was not. I though I was going to break my knife trying to get through it. The flavor though was good. My biggest annoyance is that the plate was full of stuff that wasn't even mentioned on the menu. Steamed baby carrots, broccoli, etc. A glance at my date's plate showed me that these are the default veggies that go on every plate. I hate that. It's just plain lazy cooking. Everything on the plate should mean something. Every element should contribute to one perfect bite. This plate was just busy. On a brighter note, our waitress was wonderful. Attentive and charismatic. They also have a great selection of local Colorado wines. I should mention that the whole menu is local, but local or not, it should still be inspired. In the end, I will never go back; even if my car breaks down a block away in the Springs. It's just not worth it.

Had lunch here recently. The service was good, attentive, and the server was knowledgable about the menu. I had an open faced salmon sandwich on ciabatta that was very nice. The fish was cooked perfectly and the dish wasn't overly bready. I'll visit again.

Interesting.. Apparently they have a new menu. There were not too many items that jumped out at me, so it was very hard to order. I then ordered a glass of wine, they brought me the bottle... since it was my first time there, i just assumed he was being curious by allowing me to pour my own glass. Um, NO.. I had to pay for the entire bottle even though I didn't drink it all. Nest.. even though we had butter on out table... about 30 minutes in we still had no bread.. really? Are you teasing us? He said we had to order first before they would bring us bread. I guess we looked untrustworthy. Last... we were here for a birthday celebration... we were asked to be quiet. Really. We are celebrating someones birthday, and you knew this in advance. When you sit a table of 10 people, you except the conversation to be loud. Oh well, only go here if you want to be over charged, for limited items and you dont make any noise.

I hosted my rehearsal dinner for our wedding at The Warehouse and it was perfect. We were doing a formal black tie wedding at the Broadmoor and wanted something more urban, Colorado, and laid back as a contrast the night before. Chef Johnson and his excellent team were very helpful in creating a great friendly atmosphere, helping to tweak the food and drink menu, and provided excellent food which our guests loved. From the bacon-wrapped scallops (always a crowd pleaser) to the bison tenderloin, to the wild boar stew, to mushroom dishes, and so on, the food was stellar, and they were very helpful in getting me to hit my budget. I wish that they had a projector so that we didn't have to bring our own for a photo slide show, but otherwise, it was a perfect.

Love the atmosphere in here best! We love to use their large banquet room and their smaller wine room for private parties and events. The food is always prepared fresh and you won't find tired old dishes here. I appreciate that any feedback you give goes to the appropriate staff and chef. I got an email response the next day. Not many restaurants interact with customers like this. We'll be going back again for our farewells and ladies luncheons, and I highly recommend!

My dining experience was soooooo terribly DISAPPOINTING that I felt like crying... I spent $100 and 1.5 hours waiting for stale bread, a "tasting plate" (their words), and a martini that tasted like spring break 1989. UGH! Our first mistake was going on a Wednesday. I thought an impromptu mid-week dinner would be a romantic treat, and Restaurant Week was the perfect excuse. MISTAKE! There was one server, and she seated people, tended bar, and waited tables. She was very kind but sparse. To put things in perspective, we arrive around 5:20, were seated around 5:25 (even though the restaurant was empty), received drinks around 5:40, and received our dinners (are you ready for this?) around 6:50. When our dinners finally arrived, we requested boxes because we were so ready to go. It still took until 7:05 to walk out the door. Our second mistake was assuming that Restaurant Week would be a delightful opportunity for a restaurant to dazzle new customers with prized dishes. Instead, I felt like we were being punished for daring to take the Warehouse up on THEIR deal. Instead of each person receiving a 3-course meal for $30 (as was advertised), we received "tasting plates...much smaller portions, about half." (For the record, that was our server's description.) Hmmm...that was not how it was advertised...AND, because I can do math, I questioned the logic. The menu listed my chicken at $24 and a cup of soup at $4. So, if I order off the menu, I get twice as much food for $2 less? "Huh," our waitressed laughed, "No one has pointed that out before....oh, but you get a dessert, too." OH! I also receive a tablespoon of pudding...well, then that is a deal! Now, let's talk about the tasting size portions. I ended up with a spinach salad and the Airplane Chicken (you could pick soup or salad, and one of four entrees...from their four least expensive...hahahah). My salad came out on a bread plate. I am not kidding. It had 10 spinach leaves, 2 paper-thin slices of apple, 3 blackberries, and 4 very lonely pieces of blue cheese. I took a photo using my fork so that you can gauge the tiny size. My salad was gone in 3 bites. My Airplane Chicken was served on a salad plate (aha, that's where my salad plate went) and was accompanied by a tablespoon of potatoes, 3 asparagus spears, and a 1-inch halved slice of zucchini. The chicken itself was "minus the airplane wing" (because they had to halve it) and the feta cheese. I guess Restaurant Week customers are not worthy of those items. My hubby got the salad and pork shank. Same salad, one tiny shank, and a dollop of polenta. If we had 6 ounces of protein between us, I'd be surprised. My husband noted that the pork wasn't bad, but even twice the portion would not be worth the price. Quality...hmmm. The food was neither here nor there. In general, I think the menu is very heavy, very 1990s, and very overpriced ($25-40 for margarine and garlic mashed potatoes? Need I say more). My martini was $13 (less, I think, because of HH but still not worth it) and tasted like cheap peach schnapps. It reminded me of Spring Break 1989, and not in a good way. I couldn't drink it. What's more, it came in a warm, thick, stemless cocktail glass. Now, I have been known to drink red and white wine out of the same type of glass (gasp, no class!) but I really expect a $13 martini to be served in a proper glass. The martini magic is in all in the chilled rim, people;). The bread was very stale (ready to be french toast stale) and so dry that even though I was starving (remember, it took 1.5 hours to get our food), I didn't eat it. My chicken was OK; without the feta cheese to balance the sweetness, it was really just a few ounces of bland chicken overpowered by a slimy mess of sauteed (far from caramelized) onions and apples. We had to leave, so I never got as far as my 3 asparagus spears or my tablespoon of mashed potatoes and have no comment on those. We also couldn't stick around for the dessert, so I have no comment on those. On a POSITIVE note, the waitress was kind enough to pack up to-go desserts for us, so that was nice. She also proactively comped our drinks because she noticed that dinner took sooooo long. On another positive note, my son's chicken fingers and fries were VERY good. I think those were the best thing on the table! Overall, Wednesday night at Restaurant Week was a bust at the Warehouse. My hubby and I giggled (sadly) all the way home because we spent $100 on dinner and didn't even eat. PROS: The Waitress was kind. She brought out my son's chicken fingers as soon as they were ready so that he didn't have to wait, packed up our desserts to go when we couldn't stay, and comped our drinks because dinner took so long. Also, my son's chicken fingers and fries were VERY tasty. CONS: See above. Word of advice, Warehouse, if you don't want to participate in Restaurant Week, then don't. Serving subpar tasting plates at full price doesn't make me want to come back.

We LOVE The Warehouse!! Amazing food!! Amazing atmosphere! I love the vintage feel of the whole place! Beautiful artwork too! We recently got married and we held our reception here. Chef Chip and Stephanie were a joy to work with!! A breath of fresh air compared to some of the other wedding vendors we had to work with. They were so accommodating and were willing to speak with us at any time. They were very organized and professional! The Warehouse team did a fantastic job at setting up all my decor for my reception as well. Everything was just beautiful! Stephanie did such an amazing job at organizing everything too! Our reception went so smoothly! The waitstaff were so professional and accommodating as well. And of course the food was... AMAZING!! We had so many compliments from our family and friends. Chef Chip was so great to work with! He even brought back his famous green chile, bacon, lobster mac n' cheese for us even though it is no longer on the menu. Everyone loved it!!! People were going back up for seconds and thirds!! Chef Chip is definitely a master of his craft! We thank The Warehouse so much for making our wedding reception so memorable!! We will definitely be lifelong guests!

Went this past Saturday. The ambiance was great. I loved all the modern art (which is for sale). The menu is divided between "small plates" which are affordable ($11-14) and the full sized entrees ($25+). I got the Fajita Steak Salad. The marinade on the steak was a little funky, but it grew on me. Overall the salad was very very delicious and just the right size. There was a big private party going on in the northern half of the building, so it took our party about 30 minutes to get our food. That's what contributes to the 3 star rating. I'm sure I'll give it a higher rating the next time I go.

As an out-of-towner, I did not have any expectations for this place. OK...I sort of did. I discovered this place on Yelp, through which it is described to have a "Classy and Trendy" ambiance...so I was expecting something classy and trendy (go figure). Well, this place certainly does know how to deliver. I'm not sure if "Classy" and "trendy" do it justice. The exterior is intriguing...which gets you to eagerly or trepidatiously through the door. The interior is again, a little unexpected...until you walk to your left into the dining area. The art adorning the walls are by local artists (or so it seemed), the lighting is just bright enough to keep you interested all the while relaxing you and the aroma coming from the kitchen gets you (and your stomach) excited! I was with a large group so we sat in the "White Room" (I do not know why it has that name, nor can I be 100% positive that that is even the name) which on one side of the room was floor to ceiling decorated with very fancy wines. While the ambiance was interesting, the menu truly sparked our interest! It is the most eclectic and capturing menu I've seen in a while. The combination of ingredients across all dishes is something to write home (or on yelp) about! May I also note that Sarah (sp?) is by far one of the best servers I have had the pleasure of having. She was incredibly knowledgeable, entertaining and endearing.

Great service! Amanda was terrific. Love the musical selections, Jazz, light rock, traditional stuff. Great local / interesting menu choices. Wild boar? My husband loved it. Good wine list with some local Colarado wines. Had both a white and red. Superb. Shared a great dessert, a twist on a Napolean. Really a great place.

I don't think I would ever classify this place has hip and trendy, at least based on the decor and ambiance. But if you're a carnivore looking for more exotic meat, this is definitely a great place. I've been twice so far and both times my experience has been excellent. The first time, however, our table was awful. It was one of the ones against the wall next to the bar. However, the floor slopes downward and so the surface is uneven on the table. Unless you don't mind your table rocking back and forth while you eat, don't sit here. I had the elk chops and my husband had the filet. He didn't care too much for his filet, but my elk chops were fantastic! The second time, I took my friend from out of town here for an elk burger and it did not disappoint! I had mine with sauteed mushrooms with havarti, while he opted for the fried egg on top. Service has always been good in my opinion. Hopefully for some of the bad reviews it was just an off night for this place.

I have not experienced this place in the regular dining room, so my review may be a little skewed. I went here for the first time for a company holiday party. We were all in the back room and there was a little private bar and a DJ. It was a pretty good little set up for an event. The food, however, smelled a lot better than it tasted. We had a variety of Italian style dishes, none of which I was impressed with and then there was this weird addition of fried rice. HUH?! It was totally out of place and quite frankly, sucked. The rice was soggy and overcooked and the flavor was bland at best. The mini desserts were pretty good though! Another complaint I had was with the service. It took forever for our plates to be cleared away so we were all just shuffling them around and trying not to get our sleeves in anything. Plus the bartender seemed to be a little grumpy and asked for my ID every time I went up to get a glass of wine... it got a little annoying because there really weren't that many people there! Either way, I need to go back and experience this place as a regular patron and try the menu item of my choice. Maybe my review will be different?

Came to The Warehouse after getting married earlier in the day at the Garden of the Gods. Our 13-guest party was reserved for the "Wine Room," a private room in the back of the restaurant where ~100+ bottles are stored. Amanda was our server, and along with a little help---we had an AMAZING evening!!! We started off with a local Colorado winery's cab (Holy Cross) & some "Tickle MY Pickle" martinis, which were hits at our table. Amanda was great about wine service as well as champagne! Dinners varied from Fajita Steak Salads (awesome!) to Elk Burgers (delicious!) to mushroom gnocchi (creamy goodness) to bison short ribs (fall off the bone tender--but VERY maple-sweet). I might fly cross-country again just for the Brussel Sprouts or the Green Pepper Mac & Cheese! The staff was very accommodating to our party, especially since my mother is losing her hearing, and does not do well in loud restaurants--Amanda tried to keep the door closed for most of the night, so that we could have an intimate evening with our families. Fantastic restaurant with phenomenal service & an exquisitely interesting menu. I'd definitely return for a quiet dinner or small party again.

I was invited here for a dinner with a few coworkers. First time in Colorado Springs myself I was intrigued by the menu. Seeing wild boar, elk and rabbit as part of the menu I knew it would be exquisite. Since we were a large group we decided to try a variety of starters. I was a big fan of the rabbit tamale as well as the crab cakes. Nice and light crab cakes which was tasty and we completed them with the bruschetta. My main course was the Filet Chateaubriand which was well cooked and tasted good. Being a fairly big guy I wasn't too happy about the portion size but then again we are talking about a filet here. I complimented the filet with a nice bottle of zinfandel. To top it off I had the black and white chocolate pate which was so rich and filling I couldn't finish it! Overall great experience; why 4 stars.. tad bit pricey in my opinion. Cheers!

I always drive by here and am curious about what kind of cuisine they served. I was intrigued by the name "the warehouse". All i have to say is i lost 2 years of eating at hands down one of the best restaurants in Colorado Springs. The service was great. The menu was elegant and simple. There was a great selection of appetizers from great crabcakes to Chipotle bison sausage. There is a great selection of soups and salads. For the main dish I had the fillet. It was cooked perfect and the cut was nice and juicy. The melt in your mouth type of steak. For that special occasion, a nigh out with friends or a Burger for lunch The Warehouse is a great choice. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is unfortunately now CLOSED. It hasn't been updated on Yelp and I just wanted to put it out there for anyone thinking of going. I don't know what happened, but we just pulled into the parking lot and there were signs that said, "Closed for all business."

We went on Valentine's Day and were expecting a wonderful experience. Sadly it was just blah. Actually we felt like we hadn't heard the secret that this was not the place to go. Throughout the evening the restaurant wasn't even half full. While our service was top notch, our food left much to be desired. My salad was over dressed, where I couldn't even wade through it. My meal was so salty I ended up letting my husband have half my entree because I couldn't finish it. My husband's bison short ribs were much to be desire for as well. They were lacking any kind of flavor profile other than meat with a little sweet, no savory, no spice, nothing. We have visited The Warehouse several times in the past and were very impressed with the food and service. After reading lots of the reviews, I would have to agree, it just isn't what it used to be.

I knew I would love this place when I found Venison, Elk, and Bison on the menu, meats just not available where I'm from. Biggest drawback then became just choosing only one of those (so I picked two and just closed my eyes when the bill came). Great beer selection for those of us who prefer fermented grains to fermented grapes, though the wine selection was tempting. And my first introduction to buffalo brussels sprouts, which I've since seen replicated but not as good as at the Warehouse.

It wasn't the experience I was hoping for. I had a reservation but no one was up front to seat us for over 10 min. People kept walking back and forth but didn't really notice us. After being seated, the service was friendly and fun. The food was ok for the price. I went to McKenzie's Chophouse just a few weeks later and my fiance and I kept mentioning how much better the Chophouse was. Not to say that the food wasn't good...it really was. Just wasn't great considering what we paid. I love the unique items on the menu, but I wasn't really excited about anything. I am hoping the next time I go in that it is a little better over all.

Recently had our wedding there and everything was fantastic. The venue is great, requires very little decorations as it really speaks for itself. Everyone was very impressed, even my brother who is a Chef really loved the food. I think most people are ready for sub par when it comes to wedding food but this was really tasty! The staff was really great, and the DJ that came recommended by The Warehouse was great as well. We ate there before the wedding also and were very happy with that visit as well. Our wedding had 55 guests, which was a really great number for the room, but there was definitely room for more as well. Couldn't be easier when it comes to wedding planning!

It's a 5* because they cooked my filet mignon for the Oskar to a perfect medium rare. I was impressed. Everything else, maybe not quite a 5 but really not too shabby all around. My theory of "if the bread is good, the chance for the restaurant to be good is high" still stands! The fresh baked breads were really good. The rest of the food we ordered was good, well seasoned. The Brussels sprouts were basically buffalo wings without the chicken. It worked. We liked the mushroom salad. It wasn't the most beautiful thing to look at but was definitely yumm. The service was good. Our server was super sweet and knowledgeable on the dishes. I'm glad she came to check if we were done with our apps vs just watching and waiting because our entrees were ready. But even so, my husband's entree sat a tad too long and got a little dried out. When he asked her if the rabbit should be dry, she said no and offered to have it refired. And the 2nd time, the dish was awesome. I got the wine flight of 4 choices for $16 which I thought was a great deal. The selection from the list of by the glass was good. The pours were generous and I really enjoyed them. Overall, I would definitely do my best to come again the next time we visit Colorado Springs and have no problem recommending this place to anyone.

I attended a MeetUp group TGIF get together on 11/8/14. The waitron was very attentive and recommended a Nero wine for the pick 4 wines for $15 flight. All the wines (red) tasted as though they were "off". Were the bottles opened a few days too long ago? Another person ordered a Cab and had the same complaint. The house fries, really potatoes sliced, were very tasty and well seasoned. If I return, I will opt for beer or a mixed drink and stay away from wines by the glass.

We were so excited to return here. What a disappointment! Meal started out great - appetizers were great. And then...our waitress did not put our order in, a very, very loud group came in, our meal was delayed and we had to get out of there as quickly as possible in order to make our show. We had budgeted over an hour and a half but that was not nearly enough time. Can't say will be back anytime soon.

Nope. I've known this space since it was renovated and brought new life to this end of downtown in the late '90's. I hadn't eaten a sit-down dinner at The Warehouse in quite a few years. Recently I'd heard it mentioned, and the dining room has even been compared favorably to Carlos' Bistro in Yelp Reviews. But it's not even close. Why? Because of the structure of the business. The Warehouse is as much (or more ) a large party venue and banquet-for-hire space as a fine dining establishment. It makes a difference. What is fine for a wedding rehearsal table doesn't translate for an intimate dinner. Because of the ingredients Even the salad materials seemed tasteless and strangely bland at the Warehouse. (The menu focusses on red meat and the meat itself was fine but not amazing). Because of details: fudge-y lumpy pudding however tasty is not a mousse.

Wedding Reception was amazing in the Gallery room! Growing up in C/S I had come to the Warehouse for drink and art shows and always loved the space. I now live in Los Angeles and when I got engaged we decided to get married in Colorado. I didn't have to put much thought into a reception location as I immediately thought of The Warehouse!!! From the initial contact to the end I was impressed with the communication, thought and intention put into everything. Stephanie and Chip were more than open to working a custom menu based on the what the packages they promote including amazing kids food and food specifically for one of my guests with Celiac disease. The food ended up being a highlight for the guests and the wait staff were like ninjas taking care of things. As the groom I had tasked my best man and best woman to be in charge of any day of details so I wouldn't need to make decisions while trying to enjoy myself. When we arrived to set up the staff for the event introduced themselves to us and connected with our besties so they knew the plan of action for the evening. After that my bride and I never had to deal with any logistics. I would recommend this venue for any special occasion, dinner or just drinks.

This place was almost good. We went on Valentines day, I feel like they weren't even that busy and everything was way off. Our server kept forgetting things, our drinks twice and I am pretty sure to put in our order after appetizers. The food was just missing one thing... flavor. It was like the food either needed more salt or less salt or more dressing or less. More cook time or less cook time. Everything was almost good or could have been good, if it just ____ (fill in the blank).

VERY DISAPPOINTED IN SERVICE OR RESPONSE TO BAD SERVICE. This is long but goes into detail of my recent visit at The Warehouse. I'm very disappointed I have to leave a review of 1 star for a place that used to be my favorite restaurant in Colorado Springs. The Chef/Owner is a great person and chef who I thought valued the service he provided to his customers. I held my Military Retirement/Wedding party (Aug 2013) as well as my birthday party (Sept 2014) here and I thought, even though pricey, the quality of food and great service made it worth it. I've always had great service (until now), and the Chef wouldn't hesitate to come to the table and introduce himself and talk for a few minutes. I took a friend of mine here and raved about the quality of food/service as well as the atmosphere. Well, this night I was embarrassed for telling my friend that it was one the best places to eat here in Colorado Springs. The night started out good, we ordered the crab cakes (they were dry & bland). BTW, 2 crab cakes as an appetizer for $16. I then, ordered the lamb (my favorite meal here), and my friend ordered a cheeseburger. To start out, we waited quite some time (30-40 minutes) before even being served or even talked to about our meal. They eventually brought the burger out first (not both meals), and the buns were burnt, so the waitress took the buns and brought back buns that were barely even toasted. We asked her to toast them again but we didn't want them burnt, so she takes the top bun (only) in her hand and comes back a minute later with the bun in a plate and it is no more toasted than the previous one. How do we know it was a new bun and not the one she handled and walked to the kitchen a minute before? Then, my lamb comes out and it is extremely cold (as if it was forgotten and sat for awhile before they brought it out). Additionally, in my previous experience, there used to be quite a bit of sauce that was served on top and around the lamb but the plate I was served had very little sauce, if any. I asked the waitress to take it back because it was cold. She takes it back to the kitchen, and returns a few minutes later with the same plate, the meal seems to be hot at first but after first bite, it was warm on the outside but the meat was still cold. She takes it back again, and a few minutes later returns with the same plate which looks like it was steaming hot but I did notice, they finally put the sauce on top of the lamb (which was the only thing that was hot) and at this point the meat was terrible. It seemed to me that they put the plate in a microwave to heat it up both times only to make the meal worse each time. How do I know it was the same plate, well you can see the bite I had take the first time I tasted it. Who does this? Why not replace the meal with fresh lamb and sauce (that was obviously forgotten in the first place). The only good thing about the meal, was the wine. The waitress did come back and state that they would take the lamb off the tab. I was OK with that but there was no offer to take the burger off as they screwed that up too. Actually, if I was the manager, I would have taken care of the whole tab but that was not offered nor were we offered to talk to a manager. When I did ask to talk to the Chef/Owner about our meal, I was told that he had left for the night and was not available. So, I took the receipt and wrote a long note to the Chef/Owner about the service and left my phone number expecting a phone call from him within a few days. We decided the night was overall terrible, and left. On the way out, I looked in his office to see if someone was there to talk to, but was told again he had left for the night. The bartender seemed to be the only person concerned about why we wanted to see the chef/owner. I told her about our service and that I would like to talk to the him about it, then she asked if there was anything she could do to do for us so we would return. I told her I left a comment at the table and expected a phone call. I still have not heard from ANYONE! If this is the response to bad service, I WILL NEVER eat here again.

Love this place! Was actually my favorite place to go eat in Colorado Springs. A cool part was that it was never packed so you could get in with a big group without waiting.

Nice atmosphere for casual dining. Their burgers are a specialty the server said. I had one without the brooch bun and it was nothing special. Us not inexpensive either. Wanted more for my $12. Ordered mushroom soup. Had good flavor but was too thin and mushrooms were a bit tough.

food was awesome, but I'm sure the bartender was drunk. it took 20 minutes to get a beer, wine and a whiskey sampler. In the end the bartender forgot to ring in the whiskey sampler, so thank you for the free $25 of whiskey. The food rocks!

I suspected that Colorado Springs has some fine cuisine, but it took six years and a trip to The Warehouse for me to see it for myself. Not surprisingly located Downtown, the place was not particularly busy on the Friday night of my visit, and it sadly remained that way throughout the evening. It's too bad, because it was the nicest meal I've had in quite a while. Is there anything more representative of a Colorado restaurant than an elk tenderloin with mountain mushrooms? Doubt it. The massive meal consisted of sliced medium rare tenderloin, the extreme gaminess offput by the char of the grill, complimented by the sweetness of the lingonberries, and made decadent from the gratuitous inclusion of bacon, because everything's better with bacon. Oh, the wild mushrooms, too - brandied morels, chanterelles and criminis that worked with the natural juices of the meat. The mushrooms seemed to be the bridge the meal, both with the very nice cream of wild mushroom soup I ordered beforehand, and the risotto that served as the starch component to the meal, and one which I was surprised to see given its exclusion from the menu. I wasn't expecting it, and I don't know if it was necessary, but it was creamy and well-made, so who could complain. The final major component to the meal was a collection of vegetables - grilled broccolini, achiote, a Mexican squash whose name I've since forgotten,a beet, and half of a small corn cob. I've never really tried three of those vegetables before, and I enjoyed exploring. The wild game and mushrooms represented the mountains of Colorado, and the vegetables served as the Hispanic undertone that serves as a defining presence throughout the dish. The cooking was all expertly done, and the only complaint I have about the dish was that there was entirely too much going on in the dish - the portions were large and ingredients were busy. It's a small complaint, and given the price of the dish I would rather have too much than too little. The Warehouse can create some thoughtful and well-executed dishes, and I'm glad my suspicious about sophisticated cooking in Colorado Springs were correct.

Overall a good experience and good food. Took my family ( including a 4 year old) on a Saturday night. It was fairly empty for a Saturday night but it worked out good for us as we could walk around with our daughter and check out all the art work on the walls in the restaurant and large meeting room as we waited for our food. They were nice enough to turn the lights on in the big room so we could check it out. Saturday was half off bottles of wine so that was good too. The lack of crowd scared me a bit but we still had a very good meal. Our group had a bison burger, steak, halibut, fajita salad and macaroni Alfredo ( limited kiddo menu selection) and everyone liked their food.

Hip, trendy atmosphere with some great art up on the walls for sale as well as some great music that doesn't overpower your conversation. I took my wife here for her birthday and to try a new place. We were very pleased with our meals. She let me try her beef bruscietta, which was artistically plated, delicious and balanced. I had the fish and chips, which was very yum but could have been plated a bit better. It was functionally messy to eat. The lemons came already dipped in the tartar sauce, and although it looked great on the bowl/plate it made it difficult to prepare the fish with the sauce and lemons. The service was friendly, warm and helpful. The "muscat" wine... ahem, moscato... was a nice fruity light wine, which was kept cool in a stylish bucket. All in all a pretty good birthday lunch.

Went to the Warehouse for the first (and last) time with my husband for my birthday. The experience started out well - the atmosphere was quirky, artsy and fun - just our style. The floral studded butter was tasty, though it arrived with cold bread (shakes head). The cream of mushroom soup was amazing - probably the best I've ever had. The chef graciously (or so I thought) offered to make me a special vegetarian meal. I thought - wow, how nice, and couldn't wait to try it. It arrived... and then all dreams of a great meal were crushed. It was a RAW, yes, as in cold and completely not cooked, portabello mushroom cap (and I LOVE mushrooms... but not giant cold raw portabello) and it was filled with lukeward, stiff and improperly executed 'risotto' (which was also already on the menu - not exactly going out of his way here. On the side, it has a sad looking pile of wilted arugula (because I'll note, the only thing warm here was the plate from a quick trip under the salamander broiler) topped with a mozzarella burrata that was the only good point on the plate (but also on the menu, so again not really a special order). Disappointing to say the least. hubby ordered the veggie burger... why can so few learn to cook a veggie burger? It was grilled to death and so dry that it was like eating cardboard on a bun. The fries were good... yay for that at least. THEN came the bill... I think hubby's burger was around 11-12 dollars... my RAW catastrophe was $27! That's along the lines of the most expensive items on the menu - ie. like a steak or seafood dish. We were both floored. It was a total shock, and had we really not wanted to make a stink and complain, especially on my birthday, we let it go and paid the nearly 70 dollar total bill. It was such a let down from a place we had such high hopes for - and really, an outrageous rip-off. I would not recommend this restaurant.

By far the best restaurant in the Springs, my wife and I ate here religiously when we lived in Colorado. We have been with large parties and just as a couple, the food was always great, wait staff amazing, and atmosphere was exceptional. If you want to enjoy a great night out this is the place. The menu changes from time to time but hands down the Elk is the best thing they offer. This is a must dine/stop spot for anyone who enjoys food.

I was travelling on business and was visiting Colorado Springs for the first time. My coworker and I fired up YELP and looked for a spot that was highly rated. The Warehouse was close and looked like it would offer a great meal. On arrival, we were impressed with the decor. Smart and chic, while rustic and country. The place was hardly full...just a few patron were having dinner. We arrived at 8:00pm, so maybe folks in CO just eat early. We were seated and reviewed the excellent and varied menu. I ordered the Maple Shellacked Plains Bison and a glass of Zinfandel while my coworker ordered the Peppered Wapiti (Elk) with Mountain Mushrooms. The Bison was excellent. It was finished with a peppercorn sauce and mashed potatoes. So good! The Elk was wonderful as well. All in all, a great place for a nice meal. It will be hard to top this while in Colorado Springs!

I really really liked this place. We came here for an early dinner so it was pretty empty but I didn't mind. Our waiter was really good too despite it being empty. [You know how waiters always seem to disappear even if its dead? Yeah, that didn't happen.] We had the Rabbit - Rattlesnake Jalapeno Sausage to start and it was awesome. My husband had the duck dish which he enjoyed. I got the special of the night which was Boar. It was delicious. Perfectly cooked and marinated. I also liked that it was something completely new for me. This restaurant is a great place to take out of town guest. It really shows what Colorado has to offer without being completely weird. Plus the atmosphere is really nice and the price is reasonable. Though the artwork is a little weird. We spent half the night making fun of it.

A little disappointed after seeing so many good reviews. My ribeye was so tough my jaws got tired of chewing. Vegetables were overcooked. I was hoping to salvage the meal with a tasty dessert, but it wasn't as good as the menu made it sound. Overpriced considering food quality. Atmosphere was good, except an obnoxious drunk female the next booth over whose laugh was piercing. Staff very friendly and that is why I didn't give it 2 stars.

For my first review on Yelp I have to go with The Warehouse. The food is delicious and the service is great. They hit the ball out of the park. My wife and I went on a date here back in January. The host was nice, and we got a table right away because the place was dead, sans the bar. Our waitress was on the ball all night. I started off with a Colorado Bulldog, which is basically a White Russian with root beer as an extra mixer. The bartender crafted the frosty beverage perfectly. The root beer makes it a much more drinkable glass. For an appetizer we ordered the Rabbit - Rattlesnake Jalapeno Sausage. That was definitely wifey's idea because any snake and rabbit is far outside of my comfort zone. Growing up in Maryland, the crab cakes would have been my choice, but I can compromise. It was great! Not gamey or anything, It was very rich in flavor but not overbearing. Not too salty. Simply a wonderful introductory course. My entree was the Seared Cranberry-Orange Pepperduck. It was by far the best plate of duck I've ever had at a restaurant. I ordered it cooked medium and it came out just right, with the perfect amount of moisture in every cut. The seasoning and sauce worked very well with one another. Delicious. We finished with a shared Peanut Butter Mousse Cup, which was tasty, but maybe a bit heavy on the sweet side for my taste (keep in mind I am a Coca Cola addict so I'm already getting a good dose of sugar throughout the day.) The only drawbacks for me were the dessert and the artwork. The restaurant doubles as an art gallery, and some of the paintings were a bit distracting to say the least. The art was definitely on the abstract side, at least near where we were sitting. We at least got a good laugh out of it. If the artist was trying to get a reaction then mission accomplished. Not a perfect experience, but pretty close. If you live in Colorado Springs, you should eat here at least once.

Serving subpar tasting plates at full price doesn't make me want to come back.

food was awesome, but I'm sure the bartender was drunk. it took 20 minutes to get a beer, wine and a whiskey sampler. In the end the bartender forgot to ring in the whiskey sampler, so thank you for the free $25 of whiskey. The food rocks!

Cheers!

I have always had excellent service here. The menu always has a few interesting options, though I'd never classify it as groundbreaking. The have a long wine list and give heavy handed pours.

Serving subpar tasting plates at full price doesn't make me want to come back.

food was awesome, but I'm sure the bartender was drunk. it took 20 minutes to get a beer, wine and a whiskey sampler. In the end the bartender forgot to ring in the whiskey sampler, so thank you for the free $25 of whiskey. The food rocks!

  • Grant W.

Cheers!
