Awesome restaurant, great space, food and Service Fathers Day was packed but well worth the wait. Loved the breakfast club

We visited this cafe during July 4th and it was delicious. They had a great variety and no wait! The food arrived quickly and it was perfect. All staff uses tablets to place orders that are sent directly to the kitchen. I had the steak quesadilla and my husband had the eggs bacon, potatoes and French toast! Homemade and excellent. I would highly recommend. Yummy

There are better and worse breakfast places in town. The server was sitting in the booth next to us with her family which gave the visit a weird vibe... Good breakfast with a southwestern emphasis.

Food is middling at best. Service is less than. The only thing that's of any consequence is the breakfast sandwich. HERE IS A TEST: TRY to place an order over the phone. I dare you. They will not ask your name, nor any specifics about your order. I've done this several times and they act like a.) they couldn't care less, and b.) you're wasting their time. When they end the call they might as well say, "are we done"? I tried to order a breakfast sandwich today (again) and for the LAST time). Did not ask my name, or tell me when it would be ready. Did not ask what type of bread (white? wheat? Bagel?), how I wanted my eggs, what type of meat, or if even wanted wanted meat. Basically, it was, "Hi, I'd like to order a breakfast sandwich". "Ok". -- dead air. "It'll be ready when you get here". It'll be ready when you get here? Please don't give this place your business. They. Do. Not. Care. So, instead I went downtown and got a breakfast sandwich at King's Chef. Where they remember who I am, actually ASK about my order, and bring it out in a timely manner - all the while being friendly and cheerful. Other places that treat you right: Omelette Parlor, Over Easy, McDonalds!

Full disclosure - Colorado Springs is a dead town for foodies so my expectations are generally low. We stopped in around 10:00 for a late breakfast. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by the hot sauce on the table. When you see Cholula, you're in a good place because the owners are willing to pay more for a higher quality condiment with no artificial ingredients. Owners also smart because the coffee cups are branded with a local Farmers Insurance agent. A deal that no doubt benefits both parties. Feeling a bit rotund, I opted for the high protein, low carb omelet which was good, turkey moist. Down side I had an empty coffee cup more often than I should have. Good service doesn't end when the plates are dropped - servers please keep an eye on your tables. It's frustrating to need something and crane your neck around looking for your server. Born with a penchant for details, the second hanging lamp from the front door is 2" below the others bit I digress. Would be a solid 4 stars but our server approached the table chewing on her fingers, which of course is gross and I kind of lost my appetite at that point. It should be self evident but for those of you in the food industry and are apparently still fixated at the Freudian oral stage, it's repulsive. I'm sure if you swabbed my dish her saliva and DNA would be found next to my omelet. Empty coffee cups and finger chewing server = 3 stars.

Hostess had an attitude and told us 35 minutes- it was 10. Service was not friendly. Really disappointed in this place. It's embarrassing talking an establishment up to your family and have them fail so miserably. I would have rather just went to Over Easy.

While visiting Colorado Springs we went out for Sunday brunch before hitting the trails. Over Easy was too packed with an hour wait and I called New Day to check on their wait time. 15 min wait and they put us on the list over the phone. When we arrived we waited a few minutes and were seated. The food and service were really good. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the corn beef hash hit the spot. Eggs Benedict was perfect too. We shared a chocolate chip pancake. It was one of the best we've had.

So it finally opened. I was excited to see a new business in Rockrimmon. This area does not have enough good food, if you ask me. The place is nice and new, so cleanliness is a given at this point. I do however wish they used some sort of degreaser to clean the tables (vinegar for exaple) as they were all streaky from the grease of the previous diners when we were seated. The food had a nice presentation and it tasted pretty good as well. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and they let me swap the side from potatoes to fresh fruit. The fruit was indeed fresh (not frozen) and had been recently cut...with the exception of the oranges which looked a bit dry. Our waiter was a bit odd. She tried really hard to be friendly but she kept forgetting what we were ordering. Part of it may be due to the fact that their ordering platform is mobile driven (they use cell phones to put orders in), and she may still be trying to learn the system and figure out the kinks. Our order came out fairly quickly and I have to say their Latte is pretty good. I am Italian, so I do get picky with cappuccini, caffelatti, and so on. My DH had the chicken fried steak and potatoes and an OJ. I tried the orange juice and it was from concentrate. He did not like his steak as much but he didn't elaborate much more on that. Since their website does still not contain any info about this COS location, you may like to know that they are opened DAILY from 7 to 3.

New Day Cafe is a great place for breakfast in CSprings! The omelets we tried were incredible. They also had a nice selection of juices, coffee, chai and teas. There portions were large and the attention to detail by the wait staff made our experience. A neat thing about this restaurant is that all employees take your order on an iphone. It then beams the order back to the kitchen. It's a small touch but having worked in a breakfast restaurant before, I noticed how smoothly the kitchen ran even when it was busy. The location might be hidden but its worth checking out.

It was a weekend, and it was full, so we decided to sit outside. It was sunny but they would not roll out the awning :( so we had to pull out the hat and sunglasses. The food was good and the coffee was hot. Had no complaints about the food, except for the sun burning down on us, it made it feel like we waited too long (maybe 15 minutes). I had the New Day Cafe Combo and my wife had the vegetarian omelet, she enjoyed the fresh veggies.

Hands down the most luscious pancakes I've ever tasted. They smell like freshly made waffle cones and taste like a fluffy cloud. I love taking people here since I know it's going to be a pleasant experience. The menu has quite a few options but doesn't cross over into the overwhelming category. They have chilaquiles and wonderful omelets too. The place is very clean and the service is exceptionally friendly. I've never felt rushed to leave even when they were busy. I wish they would open a location on the East side of town so I could visit more often. This is a great place to meet your friends for a casual Sat breakfast.

  • Sandy N.

While visiting the Springs we stopped into this local cafe. They had a nice ambiance but that's pretty much the only thing it had going for it. The service was super slow and inattentive. Our table ordered 2 Egg Benedict's and all four eggs were over poached and were basically boiled eggs. The hash browns were okay. If I ever visit here again they won't be getting my business. Do yourself a favor and go to the Egg and I. Food and service so much better!

  • Theresa B.

Clean, pretty cafe, and an easy 'yes' for breakfast. Can't say that the eggs benny was inspired (I did have to send it back the first time for overdone yolks), but if you're looking for traditional fare, reasonably priced, and good service, this place is a go.

  • David M.

New Day Cafe is a great set up for a quick bite or a a sit down breakfast. I got the cactus jack with smothered green chilly. Don't be surprised when you see the servers on their phones, is how they take orders. But their was quite a few long delays when I was hoping for some more green coolly sauce n refills on my coffee

    (4)
  • Shawn B.

Are here 2 times for breakfast while on business and I think it's great food and friendly, attentive service. The pancakes were fluffy and the bacon crisp. Coffee is strong. Warning: if you order an OJ be prepared for a pint! The outdoor seating is nice when it's not too hot. I also tried the Egg and I which is also good but I think I prefer New Cafe.

Love love love this place! The staff is awesome the food is yummy and it's nice and cozy inside. Rockrimmon area needed a little breakfast place like this that isn't some huge chain. The waitresses are starting to recognize me which makes me happy, I've always wanted to be a regular somewhere. I highly recommend it if you want a yummy wholesome breakfast and to support local business.

My son and I tried this place on a Sunday morning. I understand Sunday breakfast time in the Colorado Springs area is an extremely busy time for all breakfast establishments. When we walked in the door, it took 5 minutes for someone to greet us. When we were greeted we were sat immediately, here is where my time and money began to be wasted. Once we were sat, our waitress who had two large tables in her section seemed to care less about us. Once the drink orders were taken and delivered, I found myself pouring sugar and cream into my coffee without any silver wear or napkins. I waited for our waitress approximately 5 minutes and never saw her so I approached the hostess stand where another waitress was able to deliver my request without delay. Once my food was delivered (California Omelette) along with my sons food (Chicken Fingers and Fries) the waitress (not ours) placed our food in front of us and informed me that they had ran out of sour cream for my dish and then proceeded to immediately walk away without asking if we needed anything. If she would have taken the two seconds to ask or even look over our table she would have seen my empty coffee cup and my son's sprite cup, both empty, conveniently placed at the edge of the table. As we proceeded to begin with the meal, our waitress finally appeared and hastily walked past our table. Once I was able to get her attention, she said she would bring refills. After waiting 10 more minutes, and my meal already concluded and my son's meal nearing completion, alas, more coffee and to what refill did she give my son, a Fanta. Our final interaction with our waitress was her almost in a fast jog, passing our table placing the check on the table and yet, not communicating/asking if we needed anything. And that was the last we saw of her. She said 10 words to us...and that's being generous. I will NEVER go back. The food is between a Fillmore Waffle House and a breakfast burrito being sold out of an igloo cooler at the exit to a stadium. Safe your time, go to Over Easy .5 miles further to the south.

What a welcome addition to the Springs breakfast scene! I came across New Day on Yelp last weekend, and my partner and I decided to give it a try. It was fantastic. New Day's space is inviting, and their waitstaff was friendly and helpful. The food itself was some of the best breakfast grub I've had since moving here. I had the Western Omelette, which was ample and perfectly cooked. I added avocado for $0.65, and was happy I did-- there had to be at least a whole avocado in there, which was well worth the additional cost. My partner ordered the Cactus Jack, which he really liked. The cactus was cooked well, and there was good flavor throughout. Both of us agreed that the Hash Browns were the star of the meal, and considered ordering an extra side to share. My only "eh" moment at New Day was placing our orders. The waitstaff takes your order using iPhones-- they have an app for ordering. This requires too much explanation on their part (i.e. "I'm not Facebooking or texting...this is just how we take orders!"), and I'm not sure if this system actually made placing orders any more efficient, or if it's just being used for the sake of being new, cool and hi-tech. Our waitress seemed to struggle a bit with the process, and had to ask us to repeat our orders a few times-- it seemed to me that some good old fashioned paper might have saved some time and hassle. All in all, though, New Day was awesome, and I'll definitely be back!

The smothered green chili huevos rancheros is very tasty and accented with fresh salsa, refried beans and crunchy tortillas for nice texture. Well done. Service was superb too!

Their omelets are good but their service was terrible. I have to try this place again to be able to make a better assessment.

    (3)
  • Brenda S.

Service was great super friendly! But the Huevos rancheros...wasnt like any I have ever had! It was bland and very plain Jane! If it wasn't for the hot sauce on the table it would of been awful! And for $9 you would think they could of done something to it... cost on this dish for them couldn't be much more than $1 it was two corn tortillas a smear of watered down refried beans 2 eggs a spoonful of pico and sour cream.might be back but not for the huevos rancheros

  • S. S.

Eaten here several times. They have some fairly decent dishes but most of it is totally bland and completely unoriginal. Primo location to only offer something you could get at Denny's for breakfast with a lot more choices. The omelettes? Forget it. I LOVE eggs Benedict but when they can't make the effort to actually make the hollandaise sauce from scratch (or at least dress up the stuff from the can, which it obviously was from, I'm done. For the fairly high dollar you spend you can go around the corner (literally) to Over Easy. Full bar plus bloody Mary bar. Their food is original, fresh and beautifully presented. I want to like New Day a lot more but it doesn't seem like they really try.

  • Linda K.

I have been here 3 times. I love eggs Benedict! Theirs is delightful. I think the first time it was left on the shelf too long and was slightly cool so it took a while to come back. I recall food often not the warmest. They are always fairly busy so I get that. I think if they can deliver the food when HOT it would improve customer satisfaction. The issue I see with spice may be that it just isn't there. Paprika often is put on eggs benedict. It is not a heavy spice but adds to both appearance and flavor. Pleasant environment. Thanks

Heard decent things about this place so I brought my out-of-town friends hereto check it out. Their food wasn't prepared correctly. Mine was ok. Service was friendly but infrequent. Their iPhone/iPad ordering system slowed things down and made for an awkward experience. I wished we just kept driving.

How many times am I allowed to review a place? Because I feel compelled to 5-star review New Day Café every time I eat there. The only thing left to say is that I'm relatively certain everything on New Day's menu is great, but I haven't tested that theory as I'm not quite finished exploring their "Healthy Choices" offerings: Tommy B. Veggie Omelet 8.99 Egg whites with mushrooms, bell peppers, tomato, and spinach, served with fruit or cottage cheese High Protein, Low Carbs Omelet 8.99 Egg whites with turkey, bacon, and spinach, served with cottage cheese Turkey Patty and Two Egg Whites 7.99 Served with cottage or sliced tomatoes Protein Power Omelet 8.99 Egg whites with diced steak and cheddar cheese, served with cottage cheese Sprinters Omelet 8.99 Egg whites with chicken, broccoli, and mushrooms, served with cottage cheese Oatmeal 6.99 Old Fashioned and slow cooked hot oatmeal served with raisins and brown sugar So far I can attest (and rave) about the High Protein, Low Carbs Omelet and the Protein Power Omelet. And suffice it to say you can pretty much have it your way at New Day. Just tell them what you want and they can make it (within reason). And of course, as I've mentioned before, they offer Pure Via Stevia (an all-natural, non-GMO, zero calorie sweetener) so that gets major points with me. If I could make one suggestion I would ask management to include the nutritional information next to each item on the Healthy Choices menu section. That would be sweet. Looooove me some New Day!

I eat at New Day Café 2-3 times a month and have had great food and service every time I've been there. Love the omelet as a wrap is the best. The patio is the awesome and dog friendly.

My favorite spot in the springs for breakfast. It's cozy, the waitstaff is friendly and remember your name, and the food is great. Their coffee is also pretty spot on. I eat here at least once or twice a week and I recommend it to everyone. Their patio is dog-friendly!!

I was excited to try a new breakfast spot after reading a random mention of New Day Cafe last week. My boyfriend and I had just gotten engaged an hour earlier that day and we wanted a mini breakfast celebration. New Day Cafe seemed like a good choice: a new day, a new engagement, a new breakfast spot. When we walked in, a server stood at the cash register running a credit card and completely ignored us as we stood at the counter. She walked past us with her head down, didn't make eye contact or say hello. I busboy in the distance near the kitchen, but he kept working. We stood there out in the open for at least 5 minutes, without a greeting or an "I'll be with you in a minute." That was enough for us to leave and take our business elsewhere. Incredibly disappointing.

We went here this weekend on a whim because on Sunday Oliver's is closed, so we walked down to New Day. Now we did see Momma Pearl's was open but we weren't up for trying to eat there again considering our first experience wasn't that good already. Either way New Day came thru for us again and if their prices were just a dollar or two cheaper it would be our main breakfast joint. All three of us ate like kings and we got to top it off with a smooth tasting Mocha. Also I got to meet the owner and she is a really great person to talk and she seemed very opened to feedback. Plus it was awesome just to sit outside on the patio and enjoy breakfast with the family with a nice breezing blowing, I couldn't ask for more. Thanks New Day.

Updating again, just had lunch with Melanie as our waitress. Everything was amazing, as usual. They had really good fish and chips, great tortilla soup, and wonderful service. Always great, I love this local gem!

Great breakfast! Trendy breakfast restaurant with outdoor seating, I had a great breakfast here as did my wife. Their staff is friendly and efficient using tablets to send your order straight from the table to the kitchen. They have really good coffee too!

This place was amazing. I dont rememeber how I found it but I am glad I did because this is kind of hidden. The service was great. The food, I got the breakfast quasadilla and my boyfriend got an omlet. I also got a pancake, because why not?! I have nothing bad to say about this place. I will be going back to try more items on the menu for sure!

  • Melissa D.

Sorry to say it but this is the worst breakfast place I have tried in the Springs. I really wanted to love it because it is practically in my neighborhood. Sadly, this placed missed it on all marks. The service was poor. The waitress got my order wrong. The waffle was undercooked, it was so doughy and bland that my waffle loving husband wouldn't touch it. Both of our meals were undercooked and under-seasoned. It was gross. Also, on another occasion I tried the lunch. Not much better. Again, the food was tasteless. The salad was really just sandwich toppings thrown in a bowl and the soup tasted like canned chicken broth with a few tortillas on top. Many better places to eat, avoid this one.

  • Steve R.

Good food, nice clean restaurant. The service is well below average, slow, and non-attentive. Went 2 days in a row since it was near our hotel, ate there day 1 and it was hard to get refills on drinks and the way they ring things up on an iPhone is lame, it makes it seem like she's texting while taking my order. Buy a notepad and write the order down - it will look much more professional. Day 2 we went in for a small to go order, not real welcoming and when I asked for a bag to put our food in, she walked away and started talking to another customer. I wouldn't go here again, but the food was good.

New place close to my love's house in the springs. We met a friend there for breakfast and had eggs benedict, a high protein omlet, and a farmer's omlet. The eggs benedict was my order and they were fantastic. The eggs were cooked perfect for me where they are just runny enough to require sopping up with the english muffins. I had them slip in some spinach on the eggs benedict and it was devine. Everything seemed fresh. We had the chai latte and I thought it was great. Our waitress took great care of us and checked in on us often during the meal. The busboy took away my plate and silverware without asking and I still wanted the spoon to stir my coffee with and the fork in case someone had leftovers. I mentioned to the waitress to please have the busboy ask before he takes everything. Other than that one funny minor little flaw we all loved this place and will be back!

  • Britney G.

Haven't tasted the food yet but for the price I paid, it definitely wasn't worth it. They didn't even add the tortillas it was suppose to come with. Good thing I have some at home. The people were nice but next time I'm going somewhere else.

Four stars is for the food. I've only been here twice, but the first time I had excellent service and today when I went back I definitely did not receive the same. I believe her name was Melanie; she was honestly probably the worst server I've ever had. Definitely going back because the food is amazing, but I do NOT want her as my waitress again.

Cozy, neighborhood cafe. Great service. Try the chicken and avocado sandwich! I have stopped in here multiple times and I've always been happy. The wait staff is incredible and the food is delicious. It's one of the best places in Rockrimmon to have a lunch meeting. I highly recommend it!

Found this gem looking for a LOCAL place to eat breakfast, not a corporate chain restaurant. Party of 2 and we got a 4-top table right away even though it was about 11:30 on a Sunday morning and it was busy. Our server, Sarah, was friendly and helpful. The bacon/eggs/homestyle potatoes were average. The Cactus Jack Omelet was excellent! Hashbrowns were better than the homestyle potatoes, but both were clearly fresh made, not frozen. Pancakes were good, not fluffy and a little on the sweet side. We plan to go back and try a few other things on the menu. They're only open for breakfast and lunch, though, both menus are available all the time.

Firstly, the waitresses take their orders on an iPhone. It is the 21st Century and I personally don't take any offense to this. I'm not sure why this rubs some people the wrong way but it does. Next, and most important, I've been here about 5 times and I've had great service and great food every time I've been here. I particularly like the Country-Fried Steak dish. It is just the right size to get me off to a good start for the day and it isn't ginormous like a Cracker Barrel serving or something. Keep up the good work, New Day, and I'll definitely be back soon.

This was my first time at New Day Cafe. I was driving around trying to find a new breakfast spot when I found this cafe. The server Allyson was very welcoming and was prompt with her service which is a huge plus. However, the only downside was the breakfast menu. There wasn't really anything to set it apart for every other breakfast cafe in town... I got one of the breakfast quesadillas which was cooked well but nothing special. Overall, the service and atmosphere was good but I have a feeling I won't remember this place the next time I'm out looking for breakfast.

I decided to try this place due to great reviews! I was excited to try something new, but that was list quickly when my server couldn't even stop texting to take my order. Very disappointed. The food could be great, but the service is seriously lacking. :/

What a cute little cafe with great food! I had the bacon, ham, and sausage omelet and it was one of the best I've had! Oh, don't forget to outside...you wouldn't want to miss the view of the mountains.

We stopped in here early one weekday morning. I love breakfast food, but my wife doesn't like to get out early. This was a real treat for me. The place was empty when we got there which I was only slightly surprised about. It was early and it was Wednesday. Not exactly the busiest time slot for restaurants. This isn't the place you go at 5:30 with your buddies to check the farm report. I really enjoyed the space. It got a very critical review in the Independent, but the interior is fine. Plenty of booths. A nice diner-style bar with stools. Views. It's perfect for what New Day is: a breakfast and lunch cafe. My omelet was delicious and packed full of ingredients. My wife's huevos mexicana had lots of fresh veggies. It was quite nice. I rather appreciate a place like this having espresso drinks too. I also ordered the biscuits and gravy because I needed to know. They are passable. They are nothing to write home about, but they're not bad at all. I've read some particular criticism regarding the ordering system and how the waitstaff uses iPhones. To that, I say "who cares?" It was not as quick as the waitress scribbling "two cackleberries out west. 86 the tears. Two zeppelins and sweep the kitchen." But it in no way impeded our day. Perhaps if you're high maintenance and order from the menu but change it all up to your ridiculous specs, the iPhone could be a problem. Otherwise, lighten up.

The food tastes amazingly fresh and not greasy. The service is excellent, the space is cozy and the views of the pikes peak are a great start to the day.

My experience was very disappointing. While visiting from out of town we had breakfast per a recommendation. My friend and I both ordered the eggs benedict and coffees. Our poached eggs were poached so hard the yolks were nearly hard boiled. The Canadian bacon was very low quality. My potatoes were sub par. We paid $2.29 each for a diner sized cup of coffee that never got refilled even though we asked. The service was very inattentive and borderline rude. I will not be returning here on future visits.

My mom and my three kids came here on a whim. It is tucked away in a quiet part of the city and is easy to miss. I had a delicious omelet modified to my tastes. It was delicious and huge. The home fries were great, too. Though not the most lo-cal meal, it was tasty! My son had the most delicious stack of pancakes EVER. And, as I'm not a fan of pancakes, my daydreams of these tender, tasty cakes really attest to their delightfulness. They make great lattes and offer almond milk, too. It is small and service is great.

Was visiting the husband in Colorado Springs, and was searching for something sit down that wasn't Cracker Barrel. New Day was fairly well reviewed in an area with limited options. We gave it a shot. The good: I like that you could make any omelet into a wrap. I had the California, which was supposed to have bacon, avocado and Monterey, topped with sour cream. The so-so: Not a lot of bacon in my wrap, but was pretty solid otherwise - was a really good size. No sour cream, but figured that was better for me health wise. Note: I didn't really want it, but they don't tell you if you make it a wrap, you skip whatever toast or bread option that you are offered with an omelet. The awful: Husband's eggs, French toast, bacon, hash brown combo should have been hard to screw up. But everything was very bland. His hash browns were soggy, my home fried were cold. No seasoning, tasted straight out of the freezer bag. Service: Not so bad initially. Waitress was pleasant enough but slow. Pet peeve for me are empty water glasses. Even put my glass at the edge of the table to drop a hint, but still had to grab another waitress to fill me up. Not too expensive, but for about $25 for breakfast for two in the Springs, I expected more. Still searching for a decent breakfast spot.

My family and I have been looking for a great restaurant to have a weekly breakfast together, our search had ended! We have been going to New Day Cafe for 2 months straight. The food is great, and the service suburb (we especially like Allyson). I would recommend New Day Cafe to anyone.

Clean restaurant. Good food, but nothing special. We went here because one review said the OJ was a big glass, but we just received a normal small juice glass for $2.49. Very slow and infrequent service, so we won't go back. Big waste of time.

I have eaten here in the past and found the food good and the staff pleasant. Today, however, the food was sub-par, and our server was extremely rude. I ordered a BLT with extra mayo on the side, potato salad, and water. The sandwich tasted bad, like the bacon was old, the mayo WAS bad. It had that horrible rancid look as if it had been sitting out for days. The potato salad was completely tasteless and even my husband wouldn't eat it (and he's the original Mikey!). when I told the waitress she got loud and rudely said,"We bake the bacon fresh every morning." (Bake?!) I told her it didn't look right or taste right to me and she snatched up my plate and then asked if I wanted something else. I said no, When the same waitress came out with the next table's order she looked over at me and glared me down! I went up to the front to see if I could talk to the manager and I was told that my server WAS the manager! what kind of restaurant manager behaves like that? I asked for the owners number and was given a piece of register paper with his number and went to sit down until my husband was done eating. Two different waitresses then came to try to get the number back from me. They said it was against policy for me to have it. The upshot was that our meal was comped, and my name & number taken to give to the owner. I was so thoroughly dissatisfied with our experience, the food, and the manner of the manager that I will never go back to this restaurant again. My advice- Don't eat at the New Day Cafe! Let's see if the owner cares enough to actually call. I would give this restaurant a minus rating if it let me.

I LOVE breakfast, and being new to the Springs, we are searching for a regular breakfast/ brunch spot. The short version: we'll keep looking. It started off poorly with a disorganized employee who told us and another group that it would be 5-10 minutes to be seated, then wandered off without writing anything down. When the hostess came up front, she ignored us and seated a couple who had just walked in! Once we were finally seated, the waitress was slow to stop by our table. The food wasn't horrible overall, but was nothing special either. Based on a previous reviewer's recommendation, we both ordered the hash browns with our meal, and both portions were limp and half cooked, barely browned. My Farmer's Omelet was average and not particularly flavorful. The only good part of the meal was the chorizo in my boyfriend's omelet, which did taste fresh and spicy. Unfortunately, good chorizo in a sea of blandness and poor cooking is not enough for me to give this place a second chance.

Well the reviews about spotty service is correct. Stood at the front for a few minutes with out being greeted. I customer told me it's seat yourself they think. So I sat. Server brought a menu promptly. Now the ordering is weird. They use their own personal iPhone that sends it back to the kitchen. But it's supposed to make it more accurate. Didn't work:( though my food came out super fast the eggs were wrong. She corrected it quickly. The food is, ok. Nothing special. Sausage is pre packaged, hash browns were ok but I like the crispy. Pancakes are defiantly from a bag. Probably Krutzy or something like that. Don't expect a refill on coffee, the waitress doesn't come back after dropping of the food. The place wasn't busy at all at 9:00am on a Friday. Not a good sign. But, better quality food and much better service and this could be a happening place.

Great place to enjoy breakfast or lunch! Strong family type atmosphere. Beautifully decorated. Great Staff to serve up some really great meals! Easy to make subsutitutions w/ out a hassle.

I liked this place! It wasn't as easy to find as I thought it would be, but that may be my own arrogance getting in the way and thinking I knew better than the directions given to me. :) My friend got the biscuits and gravy and we were disappointed by it. I suppose we expected more sausage in the gravy, but it looked to be more of a pepper gravy. That was a bit of a let-down. The rest of the food was lovely, but not mind-blowing. I had the plate with 2 eggs (cooked perfectly as I ordered them), hash browns, 2 pieces of bacon (or sausage), and a french toast along with OJ and water. It was delicious. I should have ordered the has browns a bit more crispy for my liking, but the bacon was to die for. It may have been the best bacon I've ever had. The service was great, the place felt great, and it was a very pleasant experience.

We were really excited to try out this place and were quickly disappointed. My husband ordered a tuna fish sandwich, which he indicated was bland. I ordered a fruit plate - what could go wrong with fruit, right? Well...I got slivers of watermelon and cantaloupe which tasted like they were sliced with a knife previously used to slice an onion. The one positive thing is that the service was great. But even great service and bland food, which was a bit overpriced, isn't enough to get me to return.

If you like chorizo, you MUST try the Cactus Jack! The kitchen looks great, and the dining room is handsome. Every plate we saw passing through the window looked scrumptious! I WILL return soon. Perhaps a new fav...

This place has awesome food, quick service and reasonable prices. It's hard to find a decent breakfast place in the northern springs area! I have never had their lunch but enjoy their breakfast enough that I will return to give it a try! Also, they have outdoor seating and the indoor decor is clean and fresh! Always a win in my book!

We stopped for the first time Sunday morning. After being seated, our waitress took my wife's order for coffee but not mine. We ordered and it took a long time for the food to arrive, and then it was delivered to the wrong table. When we did get it my waffle and bacon was cold, and my wife's omelet was very bland. Our waitress microwaved my waffle and it tasted like rubber. I ordered blueberries on my waffle and there were nine blueberries :(. This was a very poor experience and we won't return!

Service was great. Add the fact that the Mango smoothie was superb and the cactus omelet tasty, we have bookmarked this cafe.

At first seemed super quaint and nice. The waitress was funny. The moment it all turned. My coffee tasted burnt like undrinkable even with a ton of half and half. Upon letting her know super nicely the waitress turned a whole 180. Ignored us for most of the time after and didn't even bring us our food. Not sure why she would take that so personally. Anyway onto the food my bfs cactus wrap tasted pretty good but that's where good food ended. I got the new day combo and everything tasted burnt. The French toast, the bacon, the home fries. And my eggs were supposed to be over medium but came out over easy and I wasn't even going to bother based on her reaction with the coffee. So yeah suffice it to say did not like it and won't be coming back.

Hostess had an attitude and told us 35 minutes- it was 10. Service was not friendly. Really disappointed in this place. It's embarrassing talking an establishment up to your family and have them fail so miserably. I would have rather just went to Over Easy.

My favorite spot in the springs for breakfast. It's cozy, the waitstaff is friendly and remember your name, and the food is great. Their coffee is also pretty spot on. I eat here at least once or twice a week and I recommend it to everyone. Their patio is dog-friendly!!

Yummy

Clean, pretty cafe, and an easy 'yes' for breakfast. Can't say that the eggs benny was inspired (I did have to send it back the first time for overdone yolks), but if you're looking for traditional fare, reasonably priced, and good service, this place is a go.

Cute little place. I travel all over the country, sampling various fares, and I love a good brunch. This restaurant had superb service with a smile and a expansive menu, while not overwhelming with too many choices. We had 5 in our party and they seated us right away despite being packed. The table was clean and stocked with an abundance of sweetners (including natural options), hot sauces, and the usual spices / condiments / jellies and jams. Everyone in the party enjoyed their meal and complimented not only the portion sizes, but also the flavor and the perfect level of "doneness" of the eggs over easy or medium or in an omelette. It was a great experience overall!

We went wtih a Living Socials coupon, so we paid $8 for $16 of food, and in addition, of course, we had to add a little more cash. So it was okay with the coupon, but $25 for an okay breakfast is a bit high. We LOVE coffee, and the coffee was only mediocre, don't know how they manage to sell it by the pound. A breakfast place should have excellent coffee, not just barely drinkable. Also, it took a good 10 minutes for a waitress to even approach our table, but after that service was fine. We decided next time we will go for lunch because $25 for breakfast is too much.

I really wanted to like this place but...omelette was average, one piece of toast served cold and not buttered, server was unenthusiastic and grabbed my dish when I was still nibbling, hash browns were mediocre...I've had much better food at places like Village Inn...maybe lunch will be better.

New Day Cafe just opened up today, and I just had lunch there - Since it's a snowy day in April, I had the homemade Chicken Tortilla Soup - it was amazing - with just enough fresh avocado and tortilla strips on top. Yummy! It's a very classy, yet homey place!

  • Erick P.

This is a great neighborhood cafe. The portions are large, coffee is refilled, friendly people. I like the omelettes best.

Clean, pretty cafe, and an easy 'yes' for breakfast. Can't say that the eggs benny was inspired (I did have to send it back the first time for overdone yolks), but if you're looking for traditional fare, reasonably priced, and good service, this place is a go.
