What a solid Irish joint! I was craving some corned beef and cabbage and was pleasantly surprised when I tasted what seemed like some home cooked Irish awesomeness. The full selection of Irish beer and food was exactly what I was looking for when It came to my experience. I'm not stranger to the Irish culture and what they have to offer and therefore my intentions for obtaining the true Irish experience. The Irish car bombs are ALMOST spot on. They could use just a bit more Guinness for it but the balance is still there where you need it. And as far as the corned beef and cabbage...... Epic, seriously I almost thought that I was having a home cooked meal and had the pleasure of drinking some stouts to go with it. The bonus part to this bar is that they will serve you anything you can think of regardless of origin.

Food was good. The fries with specialty dipping sauce was great. Our waitress was very nice but I think she got lost in the kitchen for 30 mins. We literally didn't see her. From the time we sipped our last beer to the time she brought back our credit cards to be signed may have been 45 mins. Maybe she was new.

Great downtown spot for friends to grab a drink! Anita the bar tender is the best! I would recommend this place to anyone

Food was decent, not great; but the main appeal isn't the food, it's the atmosphere, which is good for a pub/bar. On a Sunday afternoon we called ahead to see if the place was kid-friendly and were assured it was. It isn't. There is a kid's menu, but there weren't any actual copies if it. The waitress was able to recite it, which fits the bill - unless you'd like to parentally edit out the junk food you'd rather your kids not hear is available. In the end, the kids menu is just parts of the regular menu, perhaps a smaller portion, but it was a lot of food (that went uneaten) for a 6 year old. No kids activities, etc, so a big NO on kid friendly. Service was incredibly slow, over 6 min for an initial greet, 5 more for drinks (non-alc), and about 25m for two adults and two kids entrees, right off the menu; place was about 1/3 full. We had no visits for drink refills, only opportunity was when the food came. About 10m after we finished, my wife and kids actually left as the kids were getting hard-to-handle bored. Despite me sitting there alone, it took another 10m for the waitress to come by. She actually asked if I wanted dessert! I decided that was ill-advised given my family was waiting, I instead asked for the check. Philly sandwich was marginal, very little flavor, lots of bread. Kids fish sticks were dry, kids chicken strips also dry. Fries were outstanding. Probably a great place for a beer and hanging out with friends. Strongly not recommended, however, for family fare on a Sunday afternoon.

Great atmosphere. Friendly waitstaff. We got burgers which were pretty good. Not the best in town, but filling. Their fries are outstanding though. Next time: beers and fries.

Awesome brews and food! The food was near legendary status in my book. I ordered a Strongbow cider pint that came quickly and tasted better than buying it from the store (amazing) and I ordered The World's Greatest Grilled Cheese sandwich (was marked as vegetarian approved - by the way) and it was truly amazing. The food was stunning for a bar atmosphere, the price point was excellent for the quality of the food. The atmosphere in the bar was friendly and people had small children here and were all having a great time. It was a Sunday night though and only one waitress was working all the tables but to be fair it was Memorial Day weekend so I don't blame them for the slow service on this one particular day. They had TV's around the bar in stunning HD as well as an atmosphere of people having genuine fun. I was in a group of six people and we got our food at the same time and the beer/wine and everything was amazing. Service was slow but understandable since they normally only have 1-2 people working the entire bar area on Sunday nights. It was just busy because of the holiday weekend or that's what two of the regulars in our group told us. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't expensive either, it was priced just right. Worth every penny. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, I myself will be stopping back here again when I drive through town.

Always a good time here. Nice friendly staff. And good food! The fish and chips are excellent.

McCabe's is about as true to a "pub" as you can get in this town. It bills itself as an Irish pub and other than some light decorating and wood everything interior it doesn't really do much for that title, but they do know how to pour a Guinness properly and that's where it counts. They also have Soccer playing on the tvs most days and it really is great host spot to go catch your country during the World Cup. Don't get me wrong here, while it doesn't come off as the ultimate authentic Irish bar, that's not really a critique. If you want that, go to Jack Quinns which is also great. McCabe's just does so much better in everything else it doesn't require the label. It's a bar with a nice atmosphere that slings food better than most restaurants in the area. As an eatery alone it would get four stars, as a bar alone it would get four stars, together you really have to tip your hat and give them the full rating. The Black and Blue burger or the Black and Blue Salad would have to be my favorite go tos. The Jersey Ham Taylor sandwich is good when you want breakfast and don't be afraid to order off the daily specials menu. It's always good, often great. We love the warm atmosphere, friendly waitresses, oversized booths, or great high top drinking tables. It's also a brilliant spot to pre-game for a CC hockey match at the world arena while avoiding that area's crazy busy restaurant crowd. Parking and access are usually convenient unless it's Friday or Saturday night, and even then it's not too bad.

Great local establishment on south tejon a bit south of downtown. they have smith wicks on tap (can't beat that) and the food is solid. I was there for lunch and had the classic fish and chips. Good stuff. Atmosphere is classic divvy irish bar. More open than Quinn's. I will definitely be back.

I have never been to this place and had a bad time. Maybe it's because Smithwicks is my favorite beer and they serve it on tap! Or, maybe it's because this place never really gets obnoxiously crowded. The patrons that come to McCabe's are laid back, dart throwing, live band listening, no playing shitty music on the jukebox kind of people. Not the fight starting, ass grabbing, dance all over you without permission kind of people that you will find further down Tejon St. (This has at least been the case everytime I have been). Generally for drinks I go with my usual Smithwicks and occassionally I will have an Irish Car Bomb or two in between beers. I like the car bombs because they don't use too much Guiness (I am not a chugger) although my husband will probably say that that is a complaint of his. I gave this place 4 stars because I am not a big fan of the food. I like the pot pie and a few of the appetizers, but Irish food isn't really my favorite.

Hungry? Order "Bangers and Mash!" and a glass of Guinness The name alone sounds like a good time. Nice large portion of sausage ;) on top of a fluffy mound of mashed potatoes covered in a dark gravy. Yummmmy... Personally I don't care for lamb, but I hear their Shepard's Pie was really good too. Excellent attentive staff, even on a busy night. "Cheers!"

Love this local Irish brew pub! The food is excellent! The staff and owner are awesome and courteous. I've had the clam chowder, the Shepard's pie, and the cod fish sandwich. All of which were fantastic! I love the dry cider ale there along with a slew of excellent beers on tap! Highly recommend this bar and restaurant!

McCabe's is a great local pub with a really fun atmosphere. The food is good: my table had a variety of choices from the menu and specifically loved the fish and chips, curry fries, Scotch eggs, and the bbq bacon burger (great bun, too!). They also have a good variety of beers. The bar is very open with plenty of tables for families and groups. Our waitress was very attentive and kind over the 2+ hours we were there. The owners are incredibly friendly and seemed to know most of the customers in the bar. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Colorado Springs!

The other folks who reviewed McCabe's did not lie. This is the most pub-like place I've been to in the Springs. They had football (soccer) on the tele and their fish and chips were the best I've had outside of England. The batter on the fish was crisp and crunchy and the fries were nice as well. What really won my heart was that they actually import Coleman's Mustard. Sure you can get this powdered at your local grocer, but they actually have JARS of the stuff. No re-hydration here. My sole disappointment was that they had run out of Fullers the night I was there. When it's fresh, it's one of the best beers you can find on tap. The other beers on tap were good enough, but not quite London Pride. Overall, a great pub. They'll get 5 stars if I go back and they have my Fullers!

  • Ted B.

What a great Irish Pub...a very large beer selection with prompt, friendly service. There's also a low key crowd and some decent live music. It's just a great place to hang out with friends and meet a few new people along the way. The menu is pretty authentic as well and tastes great!

Oh how I love finding myself on the outskirts of the strip, where the truly destitute come to flock and it has the feel of a land that long ago had so much promise. This is where the true diamonds are. Just south of the strip in a place that is transitioning to the industrial you find McCabes. A glorious, Irish style bar, with a friendly staff and a ton of room. They know what they are and they rock it well. The beer is cold, the drinks are poured perfect, but these are not the true awesome factor of this place. THE FOOD! THE FOOD! THE FOOD! I have rarely ever had bar food this good and well thought out. Whether it be the tofu or the steak, it all comes out consistent and tasty. The main attraction though, the curry dipping sauce, truly addicting! Not a spot to bring a mother-in-law or even a business guest, but certainly a spot to stop to catch a game and enjoy a cold brew with some delicious food.

Great Lunch! My friend and I were looking for some pub/comfort food on what may be the last wintery day of the year but this was much more than your regular greasy pub mixed grill. Our server was great and the food just as good. I had Cod Cakes and left nothing on my plate. Delicious!

Great place to enjoy a pint and have a bite. The food here is outstanding pub fare. You really have to try the Taylor Ham and Egg sandwich. It's a sublime creation. The fries come with a curry dipping sauce which is great. The beer and liquor selection is what you'd expect from an Irish Bar. It's great to be able to have a Smithwick's and Jameson with dinner. The staff is very friendly and Greg, the owner, is always around and very friendly. The crowd always seems like it's regulars, even if you don't recognize them. It's a friendly, accommodating atmosphere. This will be the first place I take anyone who comes to visit me.

The Philly Cheese Steak is excellent. Plus, Greg (the owner) is a great guy. It's the best place in Colorado Springs to watch soccer, too!

  • Heather G.

Best Corn Beef-n-cabbage in the Springs. You must also try the scottish eggs. I was a little scared to try them, but now I don't go without ordering them! It is a bar, so it can be loud. The wait staff can be slow at times, but they are always friendly. My husband always gets the Bangers-n-Mash and devours it. When I am in the mood for Irish food, this is where I go!

Ooohhh, I felt like I had to be rolled out of here in a wheelchair. So hearty, so good; just what Irish food should be. I came here with my husband for date night though apparently it was a comfortable enough place for families with kiddies, babes and older. Granted we went there around 6 p.m. so it must not get rowdy until probably after 9 p.m. from what I can tell from the other reviews. Anyhow, on to the food... I had the Shepard's Pie, made with nice size stewed, tender bites of juicy lamb, full of delicious vegetables, topped with mashed potatoes and healthy, healthy cheddar cheese, and served with Irish Soda Bread matched, of course, with Shamrock Butter on the side. Mouthwatering? Yes. Filling? Definitely! My husband dined on the Rosemary Guinness Lamb Stew which was equally as tender, juicy and delicious with root vegetables and maybe not as deathly. My only disappointment was that we went with the Guinness Chocolate Cake instead of our waitress' suggestion of the Irish Bread Pudding. If you have read my reviews, you know I love dessert and I so look forward to it. Unfortunately, the Guinness Chocolate Cake fell short on my dessert expectations chart due to it being more of a flourless cake and not being advertised as such and just lacking in flavour; also, perhaps if it had been served with the sauce it should have come with (it was not ready yet) it might have tasted better. Again, try McCabe's Tavern through RubberDollar.net so you can see what I am talking about!

McCabe's is a great Irish pub for someone who, like me, who has no desire to brave the Tejon Street Bar Gauntlet. The atmosphere isn't nearly as frantic, and the food is a sight better (the chips and gravy are a fantastic, demonic combination, bringing tears to the eyes of cardiologists everywhere as they sign the papers on their new Ferraris). There's a decent beer menu with a mix of Irish and British brews along with some local favorites. There's also a decent selection of Irish Whiskeys as well, if that's more your speed. There are several TVs scattered around the bar (including one big screen) for watching whatever game happens to be on that night, but the real entertainment is only there on Wednesday night. Wednesday is "Geeks Who Drink" night, with a pub quiz and, apparently, a movie - the last time I was there, one of the Lord of the Rings movies was playing. I didn't stay to watch - as long as that movie is, I'd surely be bankrupt and in the throes of anterograde amnesia by the time it was over - but it was a good time nonetheless.

Great Irish Pub Fair All of the food that I have had here has been great. Good selection of Irish Beer and Whiskey as well. The Servers are always very friendly and helpful. I really like this place and keep coming back for more. See ya there!!

Irish style tavern on the south end of Tejon. Good selection of beers on tap. Average pub food, very solid fish and chips. Service is very poor.

Food is excellent. We have had a number of items on the menu and everything has been great. The fries are especially good and come with an excellent curry sauce. Portions are large and prices are good. The atmosphere is a great place for groups. They have a few good areas to sit together as a group. There are also 4 or 5 tvs which makes it a great place to catch the game.

What happened to the place? I'm a frequent diner at McCabe's. I dropped by for a quick bite a few days ago and at first glance I thought I had walked into the wrong restaurant. The old Irish tavern with dark wood, tall bar stools, a dart board and juke box are now gone. Now the walls are bright grey, the stools in the middle of the restaurant are gone, dividers/walls hve been installed, and it's feels more like a "drink with your pinky out" type of place than an Irish Pub. Being I was such an avid fan of McCabe's I decided to stay, I figured the food would still be the same. The waitress came to our table and welcomed us. She asked if we'd been there before, which I told her "many times". She was then excited to tell me that they have a NEW and EXCITING menu. I guess it was exciting to her because she surely was exuberant about it. The good news, they still have their famous burgers, fries and the curry sauce. The bad news, the prices have gone up. They have broken the menu down into four sections. They have a salad section, a tapas like section with small share type meals, the burgers/sandwich section and the meal plates section. Again, as I looked at the new prices, it seemed pretty expensive for what they were offering. I had my usual, a bacon cheeseburger with the fries and curry sauce. As always my burger was delicious. Unfortunately along with the prices on the menu going up, the portion sizes seemed to shrink. I used to get so much food I could never eat it all. While my burger seemed to be about the same size, I barely got more than 5 or 6 french fries and the curry sauce container had been resized accordingly. My companion bought two of the tapas like selections; a fish taco and a chicken & waffle slider. According to him, the fish taco was very good but the chicken & waffle slider was bland and left something to be desired. In all, I am NOT excited about the changes at McCabe's. While the menu is new and possibly exciting to some, it wasn't exciting enough for us to consider going back any time soon. We both felt the price was pretty high for the service, ambiance and amount of food we received. If you're an old McCabe's fan like me, be prepared, this is a BIG change.

Always loved this place, but it's gotten even better! As a vegetarian, I love that there are so options for both me and y carnivorous husband. Most recently, I've fallen in love with the avocado tacos. They are ridiculously good. My husband gets the Cuban Bird or the Burger. Be sure to try their fries and curry. Need I go on?

For sometime this has been a weekly spot for me but I'm even more impressed with the remodel and redesigned menu. This is a great place with amazing food and people. I know when I come here, whether for a drink or a meal I'm going to be greeted warmly and leave satisfied. Love this place.

Excellent bar. The menu at this place does not disappoint. It's filled with Irish classics and customary bar fare. It's all well executed and delicious. The space is casual and the service is friendly. I look forward to watching some World Cup games here! They should upgrade their televisions and furniture in the near future, but what they have kinda fits their motif.

Everything is great- food, beer, staff, and prices. We love coming here for breakfast on Sundays because its usually quiet (till a soccer/football game is on). Their portions are pretty large. The curry dipping sauce for the fries is tasty. If you come on a cold night/morning- bring a sweater, the front door can bring a breeze in from all the customers coming and going.... Or just drink more beer. This is definitely one of my favorite places to go to- especially during the summer where they host an evening bike ride before the sun sets. Great way to meet new people of similar interests (beer and bike rides). The owner is always super nice to his patrons, which is a rarity nowadays. I would definitely recommend going here.

This place is great. found it just in time for the world cup, the place had standing room only, and they serve everyone so well. the food is very good everyone is very nice and it is just a great place overall. my new favorite pub.

This place holds a perfect balance between being a bar and a restaurant. Too often, my pub dining experiences are either A) eating right at the bar, which isn't my favorite thing or B) sitting next to the bar with all of the drunk people, balancing your beer and food on a table made of particle board and packaging tape. This isn't the case here! The inside of this place is so spacious, it results in the eating area and bar having a nice buffer zone between each other. Our waitress was great. She was great at checking in on us and had a smile that made us all feel right at home. Food was definitely good, but I wouldn't say great. We started with an appetizer of mussels. I didn't care for those too much. The texture was off and the broth had an almost sour taste to it. I sampled some cheese ale soup that was sooo good, but it's really thick. A chunk of bread along side of that would've made it great. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and I would have to say that their fish 'n' chips are excellent - definitely the best I've had lately. Oh, and the Guinness! They pour an amazing Guinness - very little head on the top! Nice! I would absolutely like to come back - if not only to try the Irish car bomb cheesecake... wha? yes... please.

OK, can't say much about this place and be fair about it. I went with some friends for St. Patty's Day and the place was packed. Couldn't sit down, couldn't hardly hear others in the group. Got one drink and got out.

Being on a healthy kick, it's hard to go to a bar that has a healthy menu. Somehow, McCabe's not only gives you an option but gives you some awesome options. The coconut crusted tofu is hands down one of my favorite dishes in town. It comes with some killer green beans and some very tasty cous cous. Add to that friendly staff, great prices, and a fun/festive atmosphere, how can you go wrong?

Great beer selection. One of only two pubs in the state that I know for sure that serves Fullers London Pride on tap. (in fact my profile pix is of me drinking a London Pride in London) Pretty good pub food. The wings are good. Just don't order the extra hot unless you are prepared for some real fire. The owner is a great guy and he is usually around the bar and always willing to listen to your suggestions. The staff is second to none! The bar can get pretty loud late at night and I guess that is a good thing for some people. We always watch USA soccer there and often times a decent crowd will show up.

Okay here is the deal with McCabe's. We have been coming off and on for 10 years and we loved it as an cool bar to get food. Now the owner has gotten married not to long ago and his wife and him decided they wanted to make this place more of a eatery for foodies. So now they have part of there old menu mixed with some vegan and vegetarian foods. On top of that they completely remodeled it and it looks great!!!! It had a trendy foodie vibe to it and there food has never disappointed. Also they went more green than before and reusing there bottles for drinking glasses and cutting back on using throw away items. So you have cloth napkins also. So basically they have went 180 degrees from how they were before and they are still rocking it. Good job gang!!

  • David P.

Always been a fan of the old McCabe's, the new decor doesn't do anything for me however. The food, drinks and service are still what I visit for though. I like reclaimed wood as much as the next guy, but the remodel just didn't maintain the dark pub feel of the old interior.

We've been going to McCabe's for years and never had any complaints. It was unpretentious and good, well-priced food. We love supporting local companies & McCabe's has always strived to give back to the community through their green practices. I just went in on Friday for the first time since the remodel with my daughter to grab dinner. The remodel looks fantastic, but I can't help but be a little sad; they removed all the things I loved about the bar: the dartboard, the jukebox, the hightop tables in the center. It just looks...hipster-y and modern now. The good news is they kept most of the really great items on the menu, but the prices went up. The portions seem to have gone down. It's still yummy food, but, since we've moved away from downtown, we probably won't be coming in nearly as often. Still, props for all the eco-friendly stuff they do! Support local business!

I used to frequent McCabes when I was a meat eater, then once I went vegetarian, all I could really eat was the fries. You can get this anywhere, so I opted out of McCabes for years. Recently I came back with some friends and holy veg balls, batman! Things have changed. There are way more vegan and vegetarian options and I can actually make this a frequent place to eat and have a beer again. I'm pretty excited, honestly. The new decor/remodel isn't really my thing. I enjoyed the dark and dank pub feel that is used to have... But... Yeah, whatever. It works for me now, so 4 stars as a thanks to them for thinking of those of us who opt out of eating other earthlings.

Owners Greg and Ari have finally had a face lift for McCabe's . Formerly know as The Wayfarer - Greg didn't change too much of the Irish Pub decor when McCabe's opened back in 2006. Known for huge portions and a a variety of menu items including traditional Pub Burgers and Irish fare. McCabe's new look provides a much more mature but still relaxed atmosphere. Room for more patrons and an revamped more sophisticated menu. Service is still spot on friendly and helpful. you can still find Greg and his lovely wife behind the bar or chatting with guests on most days. Congrats McCabe's- you're all grown up now!!

I have been going to this pub since 2005, not a regular but I have been here 40+ times. I've brought groups of 5 or less and groups of 10 or more. Burgers, curry sauce, chili mac, Guinness chocolate cake have all impressed. My girlfriend and I have always held McCabes as the best burgers in town. With visitors in town this week, I of course brought them to what I thought was going to be the McCabes I know and love. Unfortunately the ambiance is gone. Any feel of an Irish pub is gone. Any feel of comfort and warmth is gone. The food was OK. While the curry sauce was its usual, the burgers were not. I can't see myself ever returning.

This place does not offer a lot of value for the dollar spent, but still fell into the acceptable range. First shock was that an Irish place doesn't have an Irish whiskey "well." I tried their most inexpensive Irish and it was a small pour and not all that wonderful, so I switched to the well Bourbon. If I was two doors down from Southside Johnnie's I would try to make my pours and prices more competitive. I tried the Shepherd's Pie, and item that doesn't make it onto many menus. It was good, but I probably won't order it again. I will probably go again if the gang wants to, but I won't seek it out. Service and food was acceptable, I just know there are places that are a little cheaper to have a good time at. About 6PM a lot of families with children showed up, there must be some new trend in eateries that offer good deals to pull the families in. Kind of strange to see children in a bar, but it seems to work. Won't the kids be surprised to find out that they can't order a drink until they are 21.

Okay, I'd like to give them 4.5 stars but that's not an option here buy now YOU know. Decent selection of beer on draft (had a really nice Milk Stout) and the wait staff knew exactly what they had. Quick and friendly service on the drinks but took a bit to get back to take our order (as in we had to flag the waitress down); and, no, they weren't overly busy. The lady and I both tried the fish and chips. I really enjoyed the fish, it was lightly battered (don't you hate balls of fried bread with no fish?) and fried just right. The chips were cut American style but were seasoned just right (salt & pepper). The accompanying sauces were nice and mild and the waitress brought out the malt without us having to ask! The only complaint I might make was the amount of red onion in the cole slaw... Bit of a surprise but not horrible. All in all, a nice place to eat. Prices were about what I'd expect for this part of town, the food was good and the wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly (if a bit slow).

The hipsters have taken over since the "redesign" of this place. Food is still great! Wish the draft selection of beer was better.

Always been a fan of the old McCabe's, the new decor doesn't do anything for me however. The food, drinks and service are still what I visit for though. I like reclaimed wood as much as the next guy, but the remodel just didn't maintain the dark pub feel of the old interior.

I haven't been here in a long time, but used to go at least once a month because of friends. The food is alright, the drinks are drinks, and there is occasional live music. Overall, there is nothing terribly special about this place.

I've heard great things from friends and co-workers about McCabe's so we hit it on a Monday for my birthday. . . . I wanted a "happy birthday to me burger" and I got it. Since it was pretty early in the evening, the place was not too busy. There were a handful of people inside and a table full dude-bro's out front. Our server was nice and did a good job. Monday at McCabe's is officially "Stimulate Your Local Economy Night". Burgers are $2.00 off and Colorado craft beers are $2.00 off as well. I tried a Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout which was off the hook. One of the best draught beers I've ever had. I'm not a big draught beer fan but this was delicious. The burger was good and the curry sauce with the fries really hit the spot. Since my first visit, I've gone to McCabe's a few more times. I have always enjoyed my food and the service is pretty consistent.

I absolutely LOVE this place. The atmosphere is great, and all the staff, managers, and owners get to know their customers and are always friendly. I have never had bad service or bad food there. Although they do get busy, especially on a Friday night. The food and beer choice is excellent! Try the chicken cordon blue sandwich with chips and curry sauce or the hot chick salad. Sheepards pie and bangers and mash are also fantastic, but YOU MUST TRY THE SCOTCH EGGS!!!!!! It's our families very favorite place to go!

This is the best place in the city. Every menu item I've had is great. They actually cook burgers to medium rare, which is rare in this place. Greg, the owner, and his wife are both fantastic. The only thing I wish is that they had 10 more beers on tap. But, I'm a big beer guy. Go to this place. Go to it.

Good burgers, great beer selection. The best fries ever. The fry sauce, oh man the sauce, I can eat it by itself. It's always a good time when we hit up this place. Semi divey, just semi. Great Happy Hour spot downtown for thick juicy burgers and beers, the wait is usually a non-factor and there's plenty of seating around the bar. The draft beers are always cold and fresh. I'd recommend this spot to locals and out of towner's alike, solid bar with superior food.

I would eat here every day if I could. I first went here for a 20's ladies' meetup.com gathering for taco Tuesday just over a month ago. I have returned twice since. You'll never find better owners. The food here is always well prepared, I really like the menu. If you're looking for a cold beer and tasty food this is the place on Tejon to go. Make sure to try the curry sauce with your fries, the pot pie is amaze, and I like the ploughmans lunch too.

Enjoyed a great meal and few drinks with a friend here while passing through the town on our way to Denver. Tried the Fat Tire Ale with Hippiecrite and must say it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The curry sauce served along with the fries was unique and sumptuous. Also don't miss the Coconut crusted tofu. Even though there was no live music on the night when we visited, the atmosphere was very cool and jukebox music selection splendid. A big shout out to the friendly server whose name I've forgotten but gave us a good low down on the town. Definitely try this place out when in the neighborhood !

Meet some co-workers here for the Monday night football. The place is casual and friendly. Being Monday night, burgers and Colorado beers where $2 off. The burger was 2 big for one person to eat, but I tried! I got the blue cheese and bacon and it was done perfect. We had a good time and convenient location so next time someone wants to meet after work I will keep this place in mind. My only complaint was they didn't have the volume on for the game, but I must admit it made conversation easier.

I am going to write a straight to the point review of the food. I stopped in for lunch on a Friday. The clam chowder was overpowered by a smoked sausage and there was no clams in it. I then ordered a side salad and an order of hot wings. The wings came out in about 2 minutes like they were re-heated and sauced. I asked specifically for crispy wings because I hate undercooked slimy wings. I asked the waitress to take them off the bill because they were semi hot and soggy. I think after 20 years I know piping hot wings right out of the fryer. After the removal of the wings the waitress increased the side salad to 4.95, so I left paying $14 for a cup of crappy clam chowder a side salad and an ice tea!!! all I can say is never again!!! All the stellar reviews must be friends of the owners or maybe for lunch the main cook is off until dinner but I would steer clear for lunch unless you are just in for a beer.

Been here several times, including Geeks Who Drink. It's more laid back than Quinn's and it has a more open space, but it still gets just as packed on popular nights. Good food even though they have mostly NON-Irish items, but the beer is in line with the land of St. Patty's. Portions of all dishes are very hearty! Enjoyed my chili mac & cheese last night. HUGE plate of elbow macaroni and real cheese and cream. The added chicken breast was grilled and juicy, and it topped the macaroni rather getting mixed in. I did wish they gave me more chili, or that the chili had more OOMPH because though I could see it stirred in with the creamy goodness, I could barely taste it. The friend's bangers & mash was flavorful and you can't really go wrong with it - I liked it; however, you may find variations at other places that might appeal to you more. I've also had the rosemary Guinness lamb stew - it was ok, but it seemed overwhelmed with rosemary or something because the essence ended up too "flowery." Service has usually been average but still friendly, although a couple times the staff has been excellent (like last night). Overall friendly and efficient. I remember when this space used to be the Wayfarer... though the concept had seemed cool, McCabe's execution is far better.

One of my two favorite restaurants in the Springs. This place is awesome because it really is a pub atmosphere. It feels adult, but if you look around, there are all ages having fun as they enjoy their food. Kids like it here. The lamb shepherds pie is fully excellent, but I've had mussels, steak, salad, and burgers here and they were all first rate too. We even had a going away here and everyone was thrilled out of their brains with McCabes!

Pleasantly surprised. Ordered the Carolina BBQ Sandwich. I wasn't really expecting much, but it was actually pretty good. Coleslaw was crisp yet creamy. Pork was extremely decent, although a tad boring and dry. And the sauce was very nice. More of a spicy flavor than a vinegar taste which normally would just piss me off, but they pulled it off so all was forgiven. Fries were undercooked and bland. Service was adequate but below average. Not overwhelmed by the food. But they have a Foosball table. I'll be back.

We saw a review for their fish and chips in the Independent and decided to give this place a shot. The overall atmosphere and decor of this place is very nice- it has a nice pub feel. The menu itself was pretty impressive with many different choices as far as entrees, sandwiches, and burgers. We tried the fish and chips as well as the BBQ Bacon Burger. The fish and chips was really good. Lightly battered and the fries were simple but tasty. The burger was very good- we would definitely have it again. A major highlight was the curry dipping sauce with the fries- awesome! The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is that our service was pretty slow considering it was not crowded or busy. Overall though, a really good experience and I would recommend anybody in the Springs to give it a shot.

When you first walk in you think you're going to find classic bar food like nachos and burgers. But the food is creative, homemade, authentic. It's amazing! I love the pulled pork sandwich so much that I've had them cater this meal multiple times at parties I've hosted. It's not like the classic barbeque sauce that overwhelms the sandwich. It's a vinegar based bbq sauce that's thinner but sooo flavorful. It's my favorite food in town! My hubby lives for the chicken sandwich with the pretzel bun. Oh and their balsamic vinaigrette is amazing! Highly recommended!!!

What a great Irish Pub...a very large beer selection with prompt, friendly service. There's also a low key crowd and some decent live music. It's just a great place to hang out with friends and meet a few new people along the way. The menu is pretty authentic as well and tastes great!

Nice! I would absolutely like to come back - if not only to try the Irish car bomb cheesecake... wha? yes... please.

Being on a healthy kick, it's hard to go to a bar that has a healthy menu. Somehow, McCabe's not only gives you an option but gives you some awesome options.

I haven't been here in a long time, but used to go at least once a month because of friends. The food is alright, the drinks are drinks, and there is occasional live music. Overall, there is nothing terribly special about this place.

  • Caleb S.

Food was ok, service was OK. We got the green chili Mac and cheese- green chili was not hot, we believe it was canned. When asked what they recommend "... What do you like" wasn't what we were looking for. Its nothing exciting.

Great Happy Hour spot downtown for thick juicy burgers and beers, the wait is usually a non-factor and there's plenty of seating around the bar. The draft beers are always cold and fresh. I'd recommend this spot to locals and out of towner's alike, solid bar with superior food.

  • Dan O.

Go to it.

Love love this place! The company is great and the food is even better. I'm a fan of the coleslaw haha and the fish fry! Ps Wednesdays is cruiser night and you can ride around downtown Springs. Family is welcome. It is too cute! Have fun

Good burgers, great beer selection. The best fries ever. The fry sauce, oh man the sauce, I can eat it by itself. It's always a good time when we hit up this place. Semi divey, just semi. The service is good as well. Took off one star because many aspects are good, like the burger and some of the mixed drinks, but overall really good.

I would eat here every day if I could. I first went here for a 20's ladies' meetup.com gathering for taco Tuesday just over a month ago. I have returned twice since. They have more vegetarian options than I have ever seen in one place, and had good live music. I was thrilled to read about their sustainable business practices.

"Cheers!"
