Everything is great--but their French Onion Soup surpasses all expectations. YUM!
(5)Ellen W.
love the ham and cheese baguette (on hard French bread) which comes with super spicy mustard (so good!) on the side and small piece of fruit, like a cantaloupe slice or a bunch of red grapes. sometimes the bread is a bit too hard, which can be tough to chew. the croissants were sold out (at 1PM)! I tried an eclair which I didn't like - maybe it was too authentic....the cream filling is not the thick yellow custard from other eclairs I've had but a light cream without much flavor. also the eclair shell was a bit hard and not sweet at all. will be back to try more offerings. the ambiance is OK - casual bistro style. it is fine to dine here alone, you won't feel out of place. you order at the counter and then get a number to take back to your table. this section of Colorado Springs called Old Colorado City near Manitou Springs is down on its luck, with some scruffy people hanging out at the park across the street.

Oh LORDY! I wish I lived next door to this little restaurant! I would be so fat! The eclairs, oh oh oh! We walked in and were somewhat unimpressed by the unhelpful counter people, and the washed out looking menu on the wall, badly light by fluorescent lights.. almost sent me into flashback of a couple of very bad Asian restaruants I've had the misfortune of running into,so we decided to just try a few small things vs getting lunch there as we'd originally planned on doing. Wish we would have gotten lunch. We tried a few of their sweet items, oh my god! I use to live in Europe and crave good apple torte, I was completely happy with the slice I got here. I seriously would have to have an eclair a day (at least) if I lived anywhere near here!! The lady who was clearing tables more than made up for the other workers, she was incredibly nice and helpful. I WILL BE BACK!! YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE!!
(5)Dave P.
Sunday in Manitou Springs doesn't lend itself to very many early morning Brunch options, but if you head east just a little bit, you hit Old Colorado City. A charming town that we always hit when we are in the area. A small town of shops, artists, restaurants, and a nice park. This is type of area where you slow down, relax and enjoy your time. One excellent place to enjoy is La Baguette. A bakery that serves omelets, croissant sandwiches, coffee, tea and benedicts. Delicious food with a nice little front patio, once here, your are here...and nowhere else!
(4)Kevin C.
This place is amazing. The french onion soup rocks! And the service is always top notch. Everyone is friendly and on top of their job. Keep it up!
(5)Lesley B.
Amazing French food. Soups, salads, sandwiches, and homemade bakery treats. Don't miss this one.
(4)Tammy C.
Sooo friggin' good. One of my faves in town. I pretty much always get French onion soup which is absolutely fabulous. Highly recommend it.
(5)C S.
The place to go to for a great bowl of French onion soup. Comes in a crock bowl with a hot crispy bread roll on the side. I also like the tomato and mozzarella salad as well as their chocolate croissants.
(4)Marnie S.
I'd say this place is 3.5 stars. Food = 3.5 Ambiance = 3 It's casual here. You order you food, find a table, and wait for your food to be delivered. Nothing fancy; a good place to go for lunch, especially when you're craving some french onion soup.
(4)Amanda R.
The French onion soup is delicious and so is the squash-filled ravioli with sage. It is a very cute establishment in a convenient location for me. The wine is delicious, although I thought their reds were a little colder than I like.
(5)Gabriela R.
Was just visiting Colorado Springs and wanted a light lunch. Found this place and was really satisfied! Good service, clean and a friendly and relaxing environment. The croissants were fresh and delicious! Did not try the pastries, but they looked really good!
(5)Pilar K.
Whenever I visit my sister in Colorado Springs we always go to La Baguette. They have the best onion soup I've ever had anywhere! So yummy!@!
(5)Veronica C.
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Colorado Springs. I drive from the Academy across town for this place. Not everything on the menu is 5 stars - what definitely is: the Gazpacho (when in season), french onion soup salads are very fresh caramel custard (5+ stars) their homemade mustard (comes with a sandwich) Croissants sandwiches: between 4-5 stars. The fondue: 4 stars. Pasta: 3 stars (very good without being exceptional) I haven't tried anything else. Very busy place, super cute inside, and truly an exceptional value.
(4)Kevin S.
My friend and I just went there yesterday and their food is delicious! They have a wide variety of breads and pastries to choose from--I got the large cream puff and it was soooo good! Their pastry cream (which is the cream puff filling for the pastry virgins out there) was silky, smooth, rich and delicious! My friend had a French bread roll with brie cheese and she loved it. There are a couple of tables on the patio and ample seating inside. We will definitely return to La Baguette and on our next visit I'm going to ask if they sell their pastry cream in 5 gallon buckets.
(4)Christopher S.
Really tasty food! I love the spinach and ricotta omelet. The artwork and tables/chairs need to be improved but it isn't a huge issue.
(4)Lucy B.
The French onion soup is delicious and the bread is nice and crusty. My husband always gets a sandwich and says they are very good. The croissants and pastries are very nice too. My daughter gets the tortellini and they are yummy, a little saucy but thats great for dipping bread.

This must be what "shock and awe" feels like! After reading some of these reviews I can't help but think we must be talking about the wrong place. This is my first 5 star review and worth every little pointy triangle. My girlfriend and I took a trip to Manuitou Springs this weekend for a little birthday get away but needed to kill some time (and have lunch) before my first surprise event of the weekend. La Baguette is a nice little shop where as soon as you enter, your senses are on high alert. The smell of fresh baked bread just takes you away to a time where... well, shops used to make their own bread. Maybe this is explains the bad reviews. Most American's aren't used to not only FRESH foods, but foods that are made with love and portion in mind. I guess if you want a big ol' fat burrito that weighs 5lbs and is just way too much, maybe you should go to Chipotle. We each ordered the french onion soup and a fondue to split. We topped this off with a nice glass of wine each. Yes, I said it! WINE!!! AT 11AM!!! No big gulp, extra large, more than you need soda here people and it's awesome. Okay, I am going to say it. BEST FRENCH ONION SOUP OF MY LIFE!!! The soup, onion and bread was a perfect mix. Not too much onion, not too much soup and not a over sized chunk of bread in the bottom. The cheese was melted to perfection and the soup itself was seasoned perfectly. Take note Cheeky Monk, this is how it's done. The soup stayed hot through my entire sitting and it was all I could do to just pick up the bowl and drink straight from the source. The fondue was amazing as well. Nice sharp cheese with a little white pepper flavor just added to the crispness of the fresh baguette that came with it. The baguette had a nice flaky crust and gewy soft inside. We seriously could not get enough of that bread, soup, cheese and wine combo:) So much in fact that we decided to stop by on our way back to Denver to buy a baguette, sandwich and eclair to bring home with us. The sandwich (again) isn't your typical Americanized big hunk of bread, too may toppings, too much meat, supersized disaster. It was a few simple slices of good turkey and ham with a slice or two of swiss cheese with just a little bit of mustard accompanied by two slices of cantaloupe, (yummmm) not grease french fries:) Not only would we go back again, but we are planning our next trip to Colorado Springs around going to lunch at La Baguette. The food is perfect, the service was great and that french onion soup is pure sex!
(5)Mike M.
Eclectic and yummy!
(5)Phoebe R.
Almond croissant! It's awesome. I'd eat one every morning if I could. I've driven to the other La Baguettes to get it is this one is out, but the people watching at the Old Colorado City one is the best.
(5)Mary K.
You gotta love the French Onion Soup, the Fondue, the Almond Croissants. It gets packed at lunch, but by one o'clock, the afternoon is yours at this authentic french bakery.
(5)D P.
Stopped here for lunch the other day and wanted a sandwich, so decided on a baguette with turkey and swiss. It came out and while the baguette was a great flaky piece of bread, the fact that I got one piece of turkey and one piece of cheese which was called a sandwich was really disappointing. My wife had the fondue which was pretty bomb diggity, so that kind of made up for my awesome sandwich. The menu was pretty substantial, but bleh, I may be back for more, but won't go out of my way to do so.
(3)David B.
Family tradition. Love the French onion soup and chicken salad sandwich. Seating in the bay-window is fun.
(5)Ellen W.

Really good French restaurant in Colorado Springs. I liked the French onion soup, Sandwich. The interior decor is very inviting. Better than La Madelaine chain of restaurants.
(4)Carly M.
The butter croissants are always amazing here. Not a French Onion Soup fan but I will eat theirs on occasion. Love the cheese fondue here! Bread is always great. Not a fan of their omelettes.
(4)Anke S.
Every time my family and I go to visit we have a wonderful time. The food selection is wonderful and very tasty and of course the breads and pastries are amazing.
(5)Jessica D.
A friend in NYC recently wrote asking to go to brunch when she comes to visit. "Let's go to La Baguette!" she said. "I'm craving their apple croissants and coffee." I personally like the chocolate croissant better-- different than most chocolate fillings; they use something like semi-sweet chocolate chips in theirs. Come for lunch, and if you're undecided, the french onion soup is a great choice. I have a hard time ordering anything else, it's so good. The croissant sandwiches, corn chowder, and tortellini are also great. Take some baked goods home for tomorrow's breakfast. All the locations in town are great with the same cuisine and nice atmosphere.
(5)Barb D.
Don't waste your time. Waited 25 minutes for soup & sandwich, never came. People who came after us got their orders, but we never did. When complained at counter, staff could care less. No apology, no checking on order, basically 'so what'. We had to argue to get our money back

I love La Baguette, I have been going since I was a kid. However, this was my first time going to this location (Colorado Ave.) I went with my parents as a nice lunch. We got there, ordered our food and sat down. The girl who took our order was clearly new and instead of asking for help, she did it all herself. As we waited, it became clear they had lost our order. I went up to check on our food because we had been sitting there for a least a half an hour (and none of the staff seemed to notice) and they had lost the ticket, the girl who took our order flat our denied everything (losing our ticket and said she didn't do it, Gee! I wonder who did then????) Once they finally started bringing our food, the girl forgot my french onion soup and when I reminded her, she denied that as well and said it's coming. So, I sat there and watched my family eat (french onion soup takes a while to cook), by the time I finally got it, they were out of the bread that comes with it, if the girl had done what she was supposed to do, I would have gotten my meal the way I was supposed too. Seeing how upset we were, never once did a manager come by, they just said "oh well, too bad" and that was that. I will NEVER go there again, nor would I recommend this location to anyone! The one downtown is amazing and I have never dealt with a stupid employee there. Don't go to this one, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!!!
(1)Nathan A.
Good food. Great coffee. Excellent little French Bakery.
(5)Penguin S.
Mom raved about the butternut squash ravioli and Dad was so so on his tortellini, but he loved his bread. I was going to get a sandwich, but Mom said she heard they were pretty ordinary and suggested I try something else. I got the fondue with bread and half an apple. I've had better fondue from the grocery store and the bread had to be 2 days old. What was upsetting was after eating, passing so many other places that would have surely made for a great dining experience.
(2)Linda Z.
La Baguette was a family favorite 30+ years ago and it is still fantastic! The French bread is the best, especially with a bit of butter or the preserves. My kids enjoyed the chocolate croissants. The cappuccino was delicious!
(5)Michael B.
Every morning started with Latte's and some French tastie treat. Not a quiche eater but theirs was delicious. Friendly staff. Just wish it had a fireplace.
(4)Joanne E.
We just stopped in for a snack, and we're glad we did! The French onion soup was delicious, along with the crusty rolls they are served with so you can mop up every last drop of soup. The kids tortellini with Alfredo sauce was probably made with frozen tortellini, but the sauce was deliciously creamy. The Strauss dessert was great, much lighter than cheesecake with a topping of raspberry jam. If we'd had more time I would love to return here for a real lunch!
(4)Dustin K.
This is my favorite place to go when I am home in Colorado Springs. My parents have been bringing me here since I was a kid to get the different pastries. As a wee little kid I always loved getting the pastries such as the Cheese Danish. It wasn't until recently that I actually tried the lunch menu. All I have to say is all the food is amazing here. The staff has been very friendly every time I have been. I will always make a point of visiting here when I'm home.
(5)Jessica T.
Delicious every single time. I have never ordered anything bad here! The french onion soup is lovely and the almond filled croissants are my favorite!
(5)Tara C.
Wow! Best breakfast. Quiche is delicious. Had the spinach ricotta. My husband had a tomato omelet. Chocolate and blue berry croissants are amazing. Great cappuccino. We enjoyed breakfast here everyday on our trip. Great ambiance.
(5)Norma P.
Perfection everytime! My husband and I have lunch here once in a while, we prefer this location because it's not sit down akward like the one on Chestnut. The inside feels homie and welcoming. The staff is always friendly and service is fast. I always get the onion soup and some sort of deli sandwich. Never fails to impress my taste buds. We love this place!
(5)Shannon S.
This location is the worst of the franchises. Their food is bland, cold, and unimpressive. The staff is rude, and if you have the audacity to present your military ID card, you'll get a lecture. Also, you'll wait five or more minutes for a refill while the kids up front are chit chatting. If you want an excellent, hot meal, go to the Pikes Peak location. The staff is always friendly and on point.
(2)Arielle M.
La Baguette is one of my forever faves. They are great in every way and I've never had a bad experience in the years I've been coming here. I love how French their food is--like, they actually have escargot, though I've never gotten them. Beautiful croissants with all sorts of filling. My fave is the almond one, though chocolate is perfect on certain days. Great ham and Swiss croissant sandwiches, heartwarming onion soup, a huge assortment of breads and rolls, good coffee with free refills... The list goes on. Oh, and I can't forget their pastries. Sumptuous. The eclairs especially are irresistible. Try to get there early for those--I tend to snag one around noon and it's clear it's been sitting in the case since that morning. I like them a little fresher. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They definitely tend to get busy on weekends but the line moves fast and I've never not been able to find a table. Literally I could go on and on but hopefully I've convinced you.
(5)George L.
Today's lunch is the Ham, Spinach and Fontina Quiche. It's accompanied by a side salad and a small bunch of grapes. Also included is a fresh roll. The side salad is refreshing because unlike many other small local places this salad is not made from iceberg lettuce! The dressing is a light oil based with cracked pepper in it. The Quiche is very light and nicely prepared in its own dish. There is a perfect amount if each ingredient and it's not been over cooked. The top is nicely browned and the center is soft and retains the Fontina cheese flavor nicely. The roll that accompanies the meal is freshly made with a hard crisp "shell" and soft internal bread. The mark of a true Baguette! My 4 shot latte is perfect in temperature and flavor! This is one of my favorite spots in Old Colorado Springs....if you are planing to stop in, just make sure you have some time as it can be quite busy during the lunch period. Grab a pastry and relax while you sip some coffee and enjoy your choice for lunch!
(5)Stuart H.
Yum yum yum yum. Started coming here recently after knowing about its existence for years. Not a huge menu (not for lunch at least), but what they have is really good. Great baguettes, croissants, chicken salad, and especially french onion soup. Nice, brunch-y atmosphere. Officially a mainstay for me.
(5)Morgan F.
I came here for an early afternoon brunch and was SO impressed with the food and service. This restaurant has, hands down, THE BEST French onion soup I have ever tasted. I probably would have gotten a second cup had my spinach and ricotta croissant not been so filling. They have soup and sandwich or salad combos as well as some pasta offerings and a whole display case full of delicious looking pastries, desserts, and breads. The man behind the counter who took my order was so incredibly friendly and my food arrived promptly. I will definitely be back to eat here again. I've got my eye on the butternut squash ravioli!!
(4)Sarah L.
Bakery, deli, and coffee. Go have a sandwich, a cup of coffee with a friend, and pick up some bread to go with dinner. They also have very good pastries, the cream cheese stuffed one is to die for. They also deliver fresh bread to kings soopers Monday - Saturday if you can't make it to the bakery. The west side location is my favorite. It's laid back compared to the others.
(5)Brenna H.
I love the food here, especially the French Onion Soup. And the Spinach Ricotta Croissant. I bring my toddler here & then go play in the park across the street for breakfast dates. It's worth tolerating the sometimes poor service. They usually hire young attractive girls, but they're not much for interaction with customers. High turnover rate from what I can tell. The baked goods and pastries are awesome. Great location, especially when shopping around OCC.
(4)John F.
Good food, as is usually the case...but what poor service. On a recent visit, was quite disappointed by the lack of customer focus. When asked for a small substitution on an entree, was told by server, bluntly, "No, we can't do that." Alright, I get that, but be polite about it? Waited well over an hour for an omelette, with only half-hearted apologies from (young) staff. In fact, had to ask if food was ready, and the response was "Oh, nobody brought it out?" Hello...? There was no offer for any sort of compensation (a free coffee, a discount on the bill, etc) for this very long wait. Unacceptable, and its regrettable as we have enjoyed previous visits. BTW the "served with fresh fruit" meant a small slice of melon. That's all? All in all, this seemed uncharacteristic. Perhaps a bad day for the staff...but that meant a bad day for us. We may return, but not likely for some time. Unfortunate, as I enjoyed taking visitors here.
(2)Rachel S.
Went here for lunch today (1/8/11) with my aunt, uncle and sister prior to hiking at Red Rock. My sister got a ham & swiss omelet, my aunt and uncle got the French onion soup (which looked pretty good!), and I got the fondue. I don't know how anybody else's food was, but my fondue was terrible. It was so grainy, rather than smooth and creamy. I felt bad not eating what I had ordered, so I ate it, even though I wasn't a fan of it whatsoever. It did not have a nice flavor, it was sort of just a bleh, tasteless, gritty mess. I noticed balsamic vinegar was listed on the menu with the salads, so I asked the girl at the front if they had any balsamic vinegar so I could use that on my bread rather than the fondue. She asked around, and no dice. I may go back, but I'd for sure order something other than the fondue.
(2)Heather G.
If you want amazing French Onion Soup...this is the only place to go. The soup comes out boiling, the cheese is melted to perfection, and they put the right kind of bread in the soup. The staff is pretty good and they are quick, even when the whole place is full. My only complaint I have and I've had this same complaint since I was a little kid...it is so small and cramped. It is hard to navigate around the tables without taking someones lunch with you. But they really have no other options.
(4)Randa H.
Awesome food and service! Had the French onion soup with a roll and it was all so flavorful! I will definitely be coming back here :)
(5)Kathryn P.
I'm not sure why they don't promote their wine bar on their website, but they should! It is a warm, cozy place with comfy furniture and a fire place that serves generous portions of tapas (I had the cheese plate) and great wine. I don't know the hours, but I was there on a Thursday. Check it out! You won't be disappointed!
(5)Neal R.
Very nice place in old Colorado. I had the chocolate croissantand it was awesome. It had a great amount of chocolate to croissant ratio. I would definitely recommendgoing here if you arein the area.
(5)Cianna R.
Though the La Baguette in Downtown is my favorite, this one is wonderful, as this is where all the baked goods come from! I need to warn you, do not just come here for a drink, come for dessert, or for one of their specials! Their pastas are out of this world, as is their french toast! Eat here and buy a loaf of bread and a croissant or two for breakfast!!! Amazing place!
(5)Sven S.
Nothing to see here. Average to below average food. Given the predicament that you are in, ie being in Colorado Springs, I would recommend you cut your losses and just go to Chipotle. I mean, while you have to eat in this town, you might as well save money. Otherwise go to Blue Star... what's in between Blue Star and Chipotle is generally not worth it. Ok so anyways, the french onion soup that is popular here is distinctly average. I'm guessing you probably wouldn't be able to find much better outside of the fine dining restaurants in the springs, so maybe this is your best option. Anything else I have eaten here I have not enjoyed. sigh.

Located in Old Colorado City in Colorado Springs, La Baguette is a French bakery restaurant which creates delicious desserts and entrees. Although the seating is a bit limited and even when visiting at 1 p.m. on a Thursday, this French restaurant is worth at least getting carryout from. Due to my dining with relatives, we were lucky to snatch a booth which seated 7, the number of my group; however, if you have someone sit at an open table while you order for them, then you will have better luck getting seating. I enjoyed an entree of fresh Butternut Squash Ravioli topped with a butter sauce. The ravioli surrounded chopped tomato sauce which I would describe as looking like a compote. Accompanying the ravioli was a roll which I did not get to taste due to my bread vulture children. I also tried the Chocolate Croissant, Cream Cheese Croissant, and the Schausse (which is some kind of sponge cake topped with cream puff filling and topmost layer of raspberry glaze, at least this is the closest description I can think of); all pastries were phenomenal. The entrees of French Onion Soup (the gratinee variety), Linguine, Ham & Cheese Croissant, and Ham & Cheese Baguette were also served at my table. All these entrees were well received and I left with a slice of Lemon Tart for my husband and Raisin Walnut Bread for breakfast. I believe the prices for this fare was reasonable given my comparison with other French bistros and other types of restaurants around Colorado Springs. Another nice touch to my experience was the great counter service; especially because traveling in a large group can be confusing when order taking. I have not visited the other La Baguette locations, but this La Baguette is great as it is located in Old Colorado City and supplies fun shopping before and/or after dining. I did notice that wine and beer was available to purchase as well.

Oh my! Had the escargot and French onion soup. They were the best... ever! Very friendly. Nice place. Wide selection of fresh-baked breads and pastries. Excellent food. Can't say enough good things. One of my few five-star reviews. When in this area, just eat here. You'll leave happy.
(5)Geoff A.
Probably 3.5 stars but note that this review for the wine bar, not the cafe (which I'd only give 2.5 stars). Ambience: Well appointed, relaxing place to sit and have a quiet drink with friends. Could probably do with more than one sofa which is the prime seating. Service: Very good - probably because there weren't any other people when we were there. Very friendly. Food/Drink: A good wine selection, but the one down-side is that the wait staff weren't experts by any means. The food consists of appetizers and we had the proscuitto and cantaloupe which was nice and fresh and good for four people. I heard from one of my group that the cheese platter is huge and also enough for four. Price: Typical wine-bar prices, which is to say a little more than you'd be paying at a restaurant, but you are paying for the relaxed unhurried place to enjoy a drink. A good place for a pre-dinner drink with friends. I really hope it survives as there aren't many places like this in CS.
(3)Brian W.
Awesome food. Great service. Must stop here. Had their French Onion soup and a Panini for lunch when I was in town visiting. It's a great stop on the way up to Garden of the Gods. The portion size for the price was the only disappointment. Great service and very cool environment.
(4)Gary M.
I only have two things I can use to evaluate the La Baguette on for this trip... service and the bread I picked up to take back to Florida. The service was... backseat. The young lady at the counter was busy with a conversation about cars, maintenance and such with a man I guess must have been a mechanic. Having grown up in retail, I was amazed at how long I was standing behind the mechanic waiting my turn. (Maybe I should have flashed my brights or hit the emergency flashers... but I didn't have them with me.) The experiment in customer service (or non-service) finally ended just before my patience would have ended. And I did get the loaf of Pecan Raisin bread that my wife had asked about when I visited Colorado Springs two years ago. She was thrilled with the bread... five stars. Service 1 star. Overall... 3 stars.

I went here for lunch on a gloomy day, which was perfect for a soup and sandwich combo! Their french onion is delicious and portion sizes are a plenty. The atmosphere is a small shop with tables and chairs, plus photography of europe to keep you occupied. I think I probably liked it because I ate something I expected to be good... its hard to screw up french onion and chicken salad... Service of the food was fast and they handled the Monday lunch crowd really well.
(4)Hailey D.
Love this place, but I'm only giving three stars because of the service. It was my first time ordering from this place and I had to look at the menu. Well the lady didn't even bother to wait for me to order, but when I was finally ready, she wasn't there. I didn't feel like asking what's good or what the special was, etc., because she looked super busy. Maybe I should have studied their menu before heading over there.
(3)Chris H.
I really enjoy a few things a La Baguette, but there's not a lot of variety. They keep the menu simple which I can respect, I just can't go here too often or I feel like I can't find something new that I want. The soup is great if you love cheese, I love the sandwiches on their croissants the best personally. The rolls they give out with every meal are awesome and I love getting fruit as a side.
(4)Deb G.
Oh la la! Here's one of my new favorite places to visit in OCC (Old Colorado City). This place is a quaint cafe & bakery with lovely little niches here and there to sit and enjoy some fab food or coffee/tea and deserts. And, it's perfectly French. You order at the counter and a waiter/waitress will bring to your table when ready. We started off with some lovely French Onion Soup that was warm, delicious, and definitely fit the need for comfort food on a cold Spring day. The flavor was spot on and the salt level just perfect - not too much, not too little. And, the yummie, gooey cheese roasted on top of baguette - ah, tres magnifique! Next, was a two egg ham and swiss omlette for me and spinach and tomato for my hubs. Hot tea and coffee rounded off off our delectable meal. Friends tell me the almond croissants are to die for - so guess what's on my next list to try! Check this place out.... the smells, the atmosphere, the staff, the town - all wonderful. Au revoir!

I found this place a year or so ago when perusing through Colorado Springs. I have always been a sucker for a fruit and cheese plate, and theirs was good. I have also enjoyed their AWESOME crossaints. My favorite is the cream cheese croissant. Breads good, salad nicoise - yum.

Yesterday I varied my order--my ham and fontina quiche was small with soft tasty eggs and no crust --was perfect for my needs but unusual. My friends mushroom soup was excellent, flavorful and fresh.

Cute. Nice menu. Fresh food. However, I was underwhelmed by higher-than-called-for prices and very poor weak coffee.

Best! Best! Best!

Ambiance: Of three remaining locations left of La Baguette in Colorado Springs, this place has the least amount of charm, as compared to it's other two locations. Now with that being said, I have no problem with this location, it's just that I prefer the atmosphere Downtown much more. This location in Old Colorado Springs, has a decent size dining area, and a few tables scattered outside, that always seem to be occupied during my visits. Order at counter, and they will give you a number to take to your table, and then they will deliver your food. Self serve coffee area. On my recent visit, they were playing some sort of hip hop -reggae fusion music, wasn't feeling the French Bistro vibe. Service: Counter help here is always pretty young. They are ok (but I like the service better Downtown and on Chestnut St.). Food: All three locations of la Baguette have different owners and slightly different menus. They all have the same great French Onion soup though. I like the omelets here, and the sandwiches are top-notch - both the meats and the cheeses used. Bread choice includes wonderfully fresh baked croissants or baguettes. Overall, I am a fan, and wonder why one would go to places like Subway, Quizno's or Schlotzky's for a sandwich when this place is so much better. Also, a great place to pick up a baguette for your dinner at home.
(4)Jill R.
food was okay. Service at counter was snotty and apathetic. I guess if you work at a French restaurant you are required to have snooty-tooty French attitude. Cute decor, love the outdoor tables, but really nothing to write home about.

Have visited here on two occasions while in Colorado Springs visiting family. The first time more than a year ago three of us enjoyed a lovely lunch. I don't recall what we ate, however since they have tables in the front and also several in the back there was sufficient place to seat ourselves comfortably. From that perspective, and I'm happy they don't do this, they could mash in several more tables to seat more customers during crunch time. More recently we visited on a Saturday afternoon for coffee and cake, a small pick-me-up as two of us were quite drowsy. I enjoyed the lemon tart, my brother delved into cheesecake and his girlfriend dived into a chocolate eclaire. The desserts were spot on however the coffee, and my brother's girlfriend enjoyed her chai tea. They had put a heap of cinnammon on top which I could smell from across the table, and she didn't seem to mind. This is where things go down hill though as their regular filtered coffee should be poured down the sink in my opinion, was garbage. Worse than Tim Hortin's coffee (a Canadian thing, move on if you don't get it). In retrospect I should have sent it back right away after the first sip - I doubt they would have minded to sort something else out for a $1.60 coffee. What was wrong with it... you ask! Well I enjoy strong coffee and this tasted as if it had been watered down. Great if you drown your coffee with milk and put heaps of sugar in it (well.. sounds more like hot chocolate to be honest). Their food and desserts are great, however avoid if you are looking for even a mediocre cup of coffee. There are a variety of other coffee/tea places in the direct vicinity as I recall from our brief walk about before settling in (one I believe features live music which to me sounds like a better bet already).

This location is so cozy, the perfect place for a date or meet-up with friends. Best french onion soup I've ever had. The croissant sandwiches are delectable, as is the salad maison. I am a huge fan of La Baguette- one of the best cafes in Colorado Springs.
(5)Stephanie P.
I grew up in the C Springs and left long ago for the big city (or bigger city of Seattle) so I know the dire straits that the city's residents face when choosing a good restaurant (i.e. one that is not a GIANT national chain). I have always been a big fan of french onion soup and have tried it at a number of places, and none of them quite compare to La Baguette. My husband and I just returned from a trip "home" and I made sure to take him there for a taste. We both agreed it was delicious! And the chocolate croissant we split was not too shabby either.
(4)Mary S.
Everything is great--but their French Onion Soup surpasses all expectations. YUM!
(2)Joanne E.

(5)Marnie S.
(4)Brian W.
Overall... 3 stars.
(3)Sarah L.
(5)Lucy B.
The French onion soup is delicious and the bread is nice and crusty. My husband always gets a sandwich and says they are very good. The croissants and pastries are very nice too. My daughter gets the tortellini and they are yummy, a little saucy but thats great for dipping bread.
(4)Sven S.
Anything else I have eaten here I have not enjoyed. sigh.

Family tradition. Love the French onion soup and chicken salad sandwich. Seating in the bay-window is fun.

Good food. Great coffee. Excellent little French Bakery.

(5)Hailey D.

Almond croissant! It's awesome. I'd eat one every morning if I could. I've driven to the other La Baguettes to get it is this one is out, but the people watching at the Old Colorado City one is the best.

You gotta love the French Onion Soup, the Fondue, the Almond Croissants. It gets packed at lunch, but by one o'clock, the afternoon is yours at this authentic french bakery.

(5)Marnie S.
So yummy!@!
(5)Joanne E.
(4)George L.
(4)Morgan F.
(4)Linda Z.
(4)Kevin C.
This place is amazing. The french onion soup rocks! And the service is always top notch. Everyone is friendly and on top of their job. Keep it up!
(5)Christopher S.
Really tasty food! I love the spinach and ricotta omelet. The artwork and tables/chairs need to be improved but it isn't a huge issue.
(4)Brian W.
Overall... 3 stars.
(3)Sarah L.
(5)Lucy B.
The French onion soup is delicious and the bread is nice and crusty. My husband always gets a sandwich and says they are very good. The croissants and pastries are very nice too. My daughter gets the tortellini and they are yummy, a little saucy but thats great for dipping bread.
(4)Brenna H.
(4)Jordan A.
Cute. Nice menu. Fresh food. However, I was underwhelmed by higher-than-called-for prices and very poor weak coffee.
(3)John F.
(2)Chris H.
(4)Roxanne K.
(4)Deb G.
Au revoir!
(5)Toni A.
I found this place a year or so ago when perusing through Colorado Springs. I have always been a sucker for a fruit and cheese plate, and theirs was good. I have also enjoyed their AWESOME crossaints. My favorite is the cream cheese croissant. Breads good, salad nicoise - yum.
(4)Scribal L.
Yesterday I varied my order--my ham and fontina quiche was small with soft tasty eggs and no crust --was perfect for my needs but unusual. My friends mushroom soup was excellent, flavorful and fresh.
(4)Sven S.

(3)Sibby S.
(4)Anna R.
Best! Best! Best!
(5)Jill R.
food was okay. Service at counter was snotty and apathetic. I guess if you work at a French restaurant you are required to have snooty-tooty French attitude. Cute decor, love the outdoor tables, but really nothing to write home about.
(3)Penguin S.
(2)Stephanie P.
YUM!
(5)Ellen W.
love the ham and cheese baguette (on hard French bread) which comes with super spicy mustard (so good!) on the side and small piece of fruit, like a cantaloupe slice or a bunch of red grapes. sometimes the bread is a bit too hard, which can be tough to chew. the croissants were sold out (at 1PM)!
(4)Thistle f.
(5)Manoj I.
We had to argue to get our money back
(1)Casey C.
This location is so cozy, the perfect place for a date or meet-up with friends. Best french onion soup I've ever had. The croissant sandwiches are delectable, as is the salad maison. I am a huge fan of La Baguette- one of the best cafes in Colorado Springs.

This place is amazing. The french onion soup rocks! And the service is always top notch. Everyone is friendly and on top of their job. Keep it up!

Amazing French food. Soups, salads, sandwiches, and homemade bakery treats. Don't miss this one.

Sooo friggin' good. One of my faves in town. I pretty much always get French onion soup which is absolutely fabulous. Highly recommend it.

The place to go to for a great bowl of French onion soup. Comes in a crock bowl with a hot crispy bread roll on the side. I also like the tomato and mozzarella salad as well as their chocolate croissants.

Awesome food and service! Had the French onion soup with a roll and it was all so flavorful! I will definitely be coming back here :)

Very nice place in old Colorado. I had the chocolate croissantand it was awesome. It had a great amount of chocolate to croissant ratio. I would definitely recommendgoing here if you arein the area.

Au revoir!
