I'm from NY, so pizza standards for me are high, but that being said even Papa John's rocks this place. I don't know what kind of style pizza this is, but it's cheap. Taste is awful, it always appears cold when it is ready for you, crust is weird, etc. I don't like the whole massive spaced weird themed thing going on. The order process and get it yourself. The separate payments for pizza and drinks. I give it two stars because I do love a salad bar. Good one with a good amount of options.

Before I begin my review, I acknowledge those who go here for purely nostalgic reasons. Much like Casa Bonita in Denver, I assume that most who frequent this place are those who have grown up with it. Review won't be long. First impression- old, outdated, unclean. Food - had supreme-like pizza with fresh tomatoes (meaning uncooked, fresh from the store, not fresh off the vine.) tried pasta too. Alfredo sauce obviously made from the packaged Parmesan cheese - lumpy, grainy. Bathroom upstairs not clean, run down, sink in one side, paper towels on wall right in front of stalls that didn't latch. Won't be back. Obviously. Sorry

FARGOS has obvio I s history and is loved by the local community. As someone who is from out of state, I found the pizza to be very good. It is FAR from fancy, but the crust is both crispy and chewy, the ingredients are quality, and the overall slice is satisfying. The root beer is in a frosty mug, and the sald bar is impressive. The hokey-gimickey atmosphere comes off as playful. The only suggestion would be some minor investments to renovate the outdated eating environment (plateware, lighting, chairs, etc). Fargos is a unique and fun experience.

Fargos is a charming sit-down family restaurant with crispy thin crust pizza, a salad bar, a huge arcade, and old fashioned dressed staff. The food is good, the prices are fair, and the menu is large. The small button-sized pepperonis are fun, and the salad bar is well kept and clean. Try an ice cream sundae if you're not stuffed, these are eye candy but also quite satisfying. The interior is fantastic and impressive; the overall style is wild-west to post wild-west based on all the old fashioned revolvers, paintings and statues that decorate the place. Some other cool decorations include mirrors that display order numbers ( kind of spooky ), a self playing piano ( also kind of spooky), chandeliers, and a fancy old-fashioned dressed mannequin couple on an apparent date seated on a loft overlooking the salad bar (hard to describe, it sounds more tacky than it really is). During Christmas they have a two story Christmas tree and the piano plays holiday tunes. Bring some quarters!

I had no choice but to give it a star because there is not an option of no star. This place is worse than a local run down Cicci's Pizza. The pizza was cold, with no sauce, and awful. We asked to have the pizza, warmed up (we could not believe it) 3 times because the pizza came out cold every single time. To make matters worse, my friend asked to have sauce on the pizza, and was given a cup of tomato paste. (I am not making this up folks) To make up the embarrassment he felt the manager gave us an slice of their famous carrot cake and it was uneatable!!!!!!! The hell, I saw a grown woman licking her bowl; and I mean she put the bowl to her face and licked away.. LOL

The decor and the player piano are really cool, a throw back to the old western saloons. The pizza is pretty good as well, I would say the crust is the star of the show. The staff is reasonably friendly. I find it horribly inconvenient that they make you pay for your food and drinks at two different counters. All in all a place worth visiting but not as good as it used to be.

My mother is a queen at salad bars. She once taught me to use cucumbers on the side of the bowls and line them up so you are building the bowl upwards... this way you get more if you can only go through it once. She recommended if you go to places like BD's mongolian, you use zuccinis/squashes... man she's smart! Came here on a Monday afternoon around 3 PM. Weird time, but we avoided the lunch crowd and the senior citizen dinner crowd. I had a great experience here, I really enjoy the pizza and the pasta. We ordered the lunch small pizza with Fargo's special (ham, ground beef and tomato slices.) We also ordered another lunch version of Hawaiian pizza. Got some baked spaghetti with meat sauce and a salad bar to share. Salad bar was fresh and delicious, probably because we avoided the crowd and they had an opportunity to clean up and restock. I love that the pizza is crispy on the edges and chewy toward the center. Not greasy but not dry like some people complained. I think this place is not meant to be your top-notch pizza joint but more for the experience. Kinda like Casa Bonita, but with better food and no show. (Shoot, the decor is a show on its own. My eyes were entertained that's for sure!) People complained about the beer, I think that might be a Colorado thing. We are spoiled with great beers. I'm just happy they had beer, no microbrew but you have your usual like Bud, Coors, Shock Top and Michelob AmberBock.... I really was surprised by the baked spaghetti - in a good way. I thought I was gonna get spaghetti, meat sauce, slathered cheese and then baked golden... those are usually super greasy. Instead, I got what I called a speghetti baked pie slices with meat sauce on top. I actually really like the meat sauce and the way they baked the spaghetti first then cut out like pie slices. It was much easier to eat and it comes with a baked cheesy bread. I would agree the bread wasn't spetacular but it also wasn't super greasy which suits my taste. I almost wanted to get another to go since I don't live in Colorado Springs. I will definitely try to recreate it at home. Overall I thought it was good food for the money and the decor is definitely interesting. Like an old western saloon with victorian ladies... Love the mirrors with your order numbers too, kinda ghosty feeling. :)

I really like the decor here. The pizza is just okay though. There is a thick layer of dust on everything and the place could really use a good cleaning. The staff at the front counter was nice and friendly. Prices could be a little more reasonable. I do highly recommend the carrot cake, it's delicious!!

Pizza is ok, but then again we don't go here for the pizza really. We go here for the atmosphere. It's a great place for kids!

Was ok, pizza was fine but not great. The game room was there, but not that great. The decor was interesting but bordered on weird rather than charming. The wait was a bit long for our food especially when it wasn't that busy and we are rocking a 4 and 1 yo. Similar to casa Bonita with a theme, experience based dining experience but like casa Bonita, the food isn't that great and experience was just meh. We probably won't be coming back, would rather just grab some good food somewhere then hit up chuck e cheese for games after.

Really good pizza. Terrible salad bar. Beer and wine. Aside from the food and drink, I was completely baffled by this place. I can't describe it. Old west Victorian pizza joint? I guess. It's like nothing you've ever seen before and the pizza is worth the effort. I'll go back, but I will skip the salad bar.

Fargo's is a great place to bring out of town guests. It is a very unique 2 story restaurant. I have never had any bad food. Game room for the kids to occupy them while you wait or afterwards while you have adult conversation. If you have a large group call ahead. I do wish they would have someone seating you during busy times instead of walking up and down a couple flights of stairs and more bus boys cleaning tables would be helpful.

Went in once to see if it lived up to some of the reviews I read. After overpaying for pizza and flat soda I was able to sit at my table waiting for it to be ready while watching a number board so that I could go pick it up and bring it to my table myself. The pizza was luke was m and I he dough wasn't fully cooked in places. If you could manage that then the overall blandness of the pizza probably won't bother you. The best part of my experience at Fargo's was the walk out the door. On a second trip(sports banquet, not my decision) I thought I might play it safe and just get the salad bar. After over paying again I got to use the salad bar 1 time only which would have been fine had I not been given the smallest plate in existence. Stay away from Fargo's unless you really enjoy paying for bland food, flat soda, and being your own waiter.

This was the most exhausting dinner I've ever had. The place is a lot to take in as it's set up like an old west saloon with mirrors and lights everywhere which was crazy. We ordered our pizza at a counter and were given a number that we had to watch for in the many light up mirrors in the place. We ordered the salad bar which was fresh and tasty. Drinks must be ordered and paid for separately at the bar. My kids wanted to eat upstairs so we had to haul our drinks and food up a flight of stairs to eat. The pizza was sub par, and the place was a madhouse as there were many groups and families there. My kids enjoyed it, but we won't return if we are back in Colorado Springs.

G.R.O.S.S Didn't enjoy it , won't go back. I've seen better salad bars at truck stops. They coat the bottom of the pizza in semolina. Not tastey at all.

OMGosh this place is AWFUL!!! I don't give bad reviews unless they are warranted, and believe me it is! The pizza is absolutely atrocious. I ordered the Farmer John, and when I retrieved it, it had at least 16 huge cuts of raw tomato on top, which of course rendered the pizza soggy and disgusting. The theme is a combination of saloon, creepy mansion and taxidermy; I'm telling you the atmosphere is just off-putting. Further, NO free refills unless you order tea, and you pay for your food separately from your drinks. The place is entirely too cramped; one can barely move around in there b/c all the chairs and tables are too close together. Finally, customers have to do everything themselves, there are no waiters/waitresses, probably because they don't want to bother with trying to maneuver that crowded floor. I'm from NY and I know good pizza, but this is NOT it. I've had better pizza in a high school cafeteria. Seriously!

  • Lori F.

This place is great for atmosphere, dessert prices, and beer prices...that's it! The pizza was horrible! I ordered a large vegetarian, and when I got it they had giant sliced COLD tomatoes covering the entire pizza. This is the way they serve it. I had them remove the raw tomatoes, but the pizza was still crappy. No sauce, no flavor. Also the salad bar is a complete rip off, you pay $4.50 to only be able to go through 1 time. Not worth it at all.

This was the second time I went to Fargo's, both for children's birthdays. If you have kids, this is a great place. The game room is a little run down, but the kids didn't seem to care a bit. They loved the bubble machines with the prizes in them, and kept asking for more quarters. There is a lot of seating and parking. We came when it was very busy and were still able to find seating for nine adults and children. The price was reasonable ($75 for all of us, several salad bars, and sodas), and the pizza was unique and very good. The selection at the salad bar was a little sparse, but what they had was fresh and good. My only complaint was the noise. As I said, it was very busy when we got there, and it was so noisy that I couldn't hear my husband who was seated next to me. Some sound dampening would be good. Overall, the ambiance was interesting, the theme entertaining, and the food good. Fine dining it was not, but a great place to go for an evening with the kids.

I've been visiting Fargo's Pizza Co. since the late 1970's, and I keep coming back. A former Springs resident, I make Fargo's a lunch or dinner stop at least once every time I come to town. Fargo's pizza is unique and, in my opinion, it's their crust that makes it great. Lots of toppings and creative combos on the menu. And the salad bar is fantastic. For the most part, the décor hasn't changed in over 30 years, and I'm glad! It's like walking into a Victorian era saloon - complete with player piano. It's a fun place for kids - of all ages. Probably the only reason I stop at 4 stars instead of going all the way to 5, is for the way drinks are served. You first order and pay for your food at a walk-up counter, where you're given a number to claim your pizza a few minutes later. Then, while waiting for your food, you have to go to a second counter where you order and pay for your drinks. It's a bit of a cumbersome process, but -all in all - I still love it. As long as Fargo's Pizza Co. is still around, I'll keep coming back!

This place was a shock to the senses. Old West-Victorian Pizza Place? I don't know. But there's a lot to see...beware the creepy mannequin couple sitting in the balcony. There's a player piano, tons of decor and some neat touches. Now to the food- the pizza was really good...different than any pizza I had before. Crispy, airy crust and tasty toppings. The salad bar is pretty good, it's worth it if you like a salad. The ordering and seating situation was kind of weird, but it was my first time there. Next time I'm in town, I'd give it another go!

Love this place! It's walking into Disneyland. Looking for the can can dancers (none yet). Food is decent and I think they froze the prices in the 1980s. Very reasonable, especially lunch which includes weekends. A feast for the belly and the eyes. Family friendly fun.

This is one of those places that your kids never seem to get tired of. FEATURES: -Arcade (though some of them succumb to wear and tear), tons of coin machines with prizes -Western/Victorian atmosphere -Upstairs and main floor seating -Player Piano (coin operated) that the kids love -Awesome salad bar The pizza is decent but not spectacular. I usually stuff my face at the salad at anyway so the pizza ends up being a side-dish for me. They do have other things to eat besides pizza. If you have kids they will always have a good time.

  • Dani D.

Food was average. Not the best and not the worst. Good prices for the amount of food. Really enjoyed the salad bar, and as said in other reviews, the ranch is so delicious. They did mess up our order but they gave us the messed up pizza and free bread. May be back

It could be a fun place for kids with the costumes and stuff but the food wasn't that great. The vegetarian pizza came w a lot of veggies so that was good but the pizza was just mediocre in taste. I love pizzas w a great crust wether it's thin or deep dish etc. but this place had nothing special. Not enough cheese for me either. Not a bad experience but wouldn't go again for my next pizza craving.

I love this place! The pizza is delicious and they have lots of other stuff too. Arcade for when kids are getting impatient and I love the mirrors that pop up with your number when your food is ready. My daughter is fascinated by the player piano so we try to sit near it when we go there. Great place for large groups or just a good place for a family sit down. Really fun place to go.

  • Ken K.

I love their pizza and I love the atmosphere. It is an amazing place. They have a player piano and stained glass windows and a very unique decor the pizza sauce is very tasty and the crust has a very nice texture and flavor. I live in Denver and I make it a point to stop at this restaurant when I'm in Colorado Springs. I've come to this restaurant around 10 times and every time the food has been consistently good. Plus you get a lot of great value for the price.

When you walk in it's very different and old fashioned. I love the decorations and feel of the place. The player piano was charming. Our pizza was good too. My kids had a good time looking around and enjoying there dinner.

Frozen pizza that is not thoroughly cooked. A crappy salad bar that you can only go through once for 5 dollars. Screaming children everywhere. NOT WORTH IT!

Other than the fact that this place is super weird, I love it! Or, maybe I love it because it is super weird! The uniforms the staff wear are down-right hilarious. Great entertainment and good for a laugh or two while you wait for your food. I was initially a little confused and annoyed by the 2 seperate ordering stations- one for food, one for drink. I didn't like that I would have to charge my card twice. No real big deal, just annoying. I do LOVE, however, the fact that they don't yell out order numbers. It made for a real peaceful dining experience. If you have never been before, there are mirrors all around that display your order number once yours is ready. Any employee or patron would be happy to point them out- they are a little hard to spot for the first-timer. GET THE SALAD BAR!! They have everything you could want on a salad and their ingredients are always fresh. You will never have to scrape from the bottom of the topping barrel as the employees are constantly refreshing and replenishing them. Their pizza is really good too. The sauce is delicious and they don't pour too much on. Also, they have little mini pepperonis which I love becuase it prevents you from taking a bite and having all of the toppings slide off with it! Also, I think it is worth noting that this pizza tastes EXACTLY the same when you take it home and eat it for leftovers. Yum! I have to say that my favorite part about this palce though, is the fact that the arcade is seperate from the dining area. All too often you walk into a good pizza place for a slice and a brew and you have to listen to all of the obnoxious noises the games and the children are making. Like I stated earlier, this is a very peaceful and pleasurable dining experience, yet still good for the whole family. Lastly, they have beer! That is always a kicker for me in a good pizza place!

Came here for a graduation celebration, and totally see how kids would love this place. Mine's only 8 months old, so it was a little old for him still. It's kind of like Casa Bonita, but with a different theme. For the geeks out there, it kind of reminds me of a bar out of Bioshock Infinite. The food is actually pretty good (pizza, salad bar, beer). You have to go get it yourself though, the wait staff really just cleans up. There are a ton of seats, so it can get really packed in there. Overall it's not a bad place, and your kids will probably love it, but it is kind of run down and dirty, so don't expect a 5 star experience. I agree with the reviewer that said treat it like going to Chuck E. Cheese.

Really good-looking pizza. That's where it ends though. Flavorless.

Fargo's has amazing pizza. I LOVE the pizza and crave it quite often. What dissapointed me every time is the lettuce at the salad bar. THE salad bar has tons of yummy ingredients which come to rest on iceberg lettuce. YUCK. There is nothing worse than Iceberg lettuce. No nutritional value at all....great topping deserve better lettuce!! If there was something green in color....romaine for example, I guarantee more people would eat there.

    (2)
  • Lissete D.

This place is geared toward children. And they will have a good time. If you come here expecting gourmet food, you will be greatly disappointed. Go in expecting an experience similar to Chuck E. Cheese and you won't walk out disappointed. Prices are reasonable, decor is fun, but the pizza is just meh. I would go with 2 1/2 stars simply because the kids enjoy it. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here though. Plus I wouldn't come here without kids.

I don't go to Fargo's often because it's out of the way and there are closer pizza places near my home that have better pizza. The customer service (or should I say uncustomer service) is horrible. The pizza quality has steadily decreased over the last few years. Due to the lack of customer service, horrible quality of pizza, and the indifference and bad service by the people who work there I will NEVER return again.

Family favorite! I've been coming here for years and there is NOTHING comparable to the food and the place itself! Love Fargo's!

I've been going there I was a kid in1978, always a great time. I also got to take my kids there in 2006, they loved it. We had a unusual request a few day ago so I called the manager and Meredeth assured me they could handle it. She wouldn't be working that night but would pass the information to the other Manager Chad. He confirmed they were ready for tonight. Everything went off without a hitch. Great place for pizza, salad and sarsaparilla (my favorite.) Yes it is kinda self service but the food and the atmosphere makes up for it.

You know those cheap Totinos pizzas? Just go get one of those. Hardly any sauce and no flavor. The restaurant is very clean, lots of staff and original.

If this place was a 'speak-easy' in the 1920's, I would most definitely spend all of my time there! Even though there is an abundance low ambient lighting, it doesn't make for a festive atmosphere. It's old and worn out but your kids will never know the difference! From the time you order your pizza and get it to your table it will be luke-warm. After you eat a couple slices you'll want to warm it back up but your kids will never know the difference! My sister and I also had the salad bar. Some of the lettuce had that familiar brown edges and some pieces I ate had a dirty taste and some had that translucent look, probably from how it's stored and how long it sits in the open air. They pack it on ice in front of the public to make it look good but close inspection will tell the average salad connoisseur that it's not even average quality. Hey, again your kids won't notice the difference! The accompanying plethora of with-it's for the salad are abundant, clean and tasteful. The ranch dressing is real good, about the only positive I can give the place. The big bucket of chocolate pudding over by the salad dressings will make your kids real happy! Maybe Fargo's has other food items other than pizza that have a higher quality of taste, I'll never know! Back to the atmosphere: the uniforms these poor people have to wear, OMG, the look on their faces tell the story. You get an expressionless robotic look accompanied with a forced smile. My sister asked a question of a young worker and the girl kept her eyes on the floor, answered her question in a barley audible tone and quickly walked away. I suppose everyone is entitled to a bad evening. Is Fargo's a good place to go? Yes, IF, you have kids. If your an adult looking for good Italian food or pizza with genuine service I suggest you look elsewhere.

This place is definitely a sight to see, full the old time feel with a historical Victorian touch. I enjoyed the atmosphere and unique way of receiving your pizza as you patiently watch for your number to appear on the mirrors. The arcade downstairs was cool, my son enjoyed it. Prices are somewhat decent just didn't like having to go to a separate cashier to purchase drinks.

  • Deyshia J.

Salad bar was ok. Wish they had another option other than iceberg lettuce. Pizza.....awful. I read other reviews saying they have had frozen pizza that's tastes better. I really wanted them to be wrong. Unfortunately, I have had many frozen pizzas in my time and most of them were better than the one I purchased there. Cheesy garlic bread has garlic butter and Parmesan cheese. That's it. Two stats only for the energy and the salad bar. Will not return.

Fargo's is a somewhat quirky blend of Victorian and Old West. It' s a fun restaurant to which you go as much (perhaps more) for the experience as the food. The food is good, not great - pizza has a crispy crust and is thick with cheese and toppings are generous. They have a nice salad bar which they maintain carefully. I've never had them but there are a few sandwiches and pasta dishes on the menu; nonetheless, pizza is the name of the game at Fargo's. You order and pay at a counter as you enter and then go to a separate counter (like an old west bar) to order drinks and desserts if you want them. Soft drinks, beer and wine are available. When you pay you're given an order number, and you take your beverages and choose a table from the large seating areas on two floors (the best tables are around the periphery of the building in bay windows) and watch for your number to appear in mirrors on the walls throughout the restaurant. When it appears you go and claim your order - Fargo's is totally self-serve. Some will enjoy (others will be offended by) a number of animal trophies on the walls. There's an inconspicuous arcade for the kids but the Fargo's experience isn't built around the arcade. There's a player piano in the middle of the restaurant on the first floor. It's hard to say exactly what makes the Fargo's experience fun, but it's quirky and unique and almost everyone there (and there are usually LOTS of people there) - "children" of all ages - look to be having a lot of fun. Throw in some respectable pizza and what's not fun about that?

What a terrible, weird place. It took us over thirty minutes to get seated, and the whole system was very weird. The pizza is not good, at all. I know that COS is a pizza-disabled city, but this is just very sad. Ours was burnt and yucky. The sauce tastes canned. It's weird that you have to buy drinks separately. The waitresses outfits are weird. 1/10, did not enjoy.

    (1)

Attractive, antique atmosphere. Food pales in comparison. The unique setting is eye catching, although their music drowns out a good conversation. Appropriately dressed waitresses put you in the Victorian era.

I had salad bar it was good but needed more variety. Friends had pizza covered with tomatoes. Didnt see any cheese on the pizza. The best part was the decorations of the building. Worse was the cramp seating.

Old school favorite that I still enjoy when possible with the family. Pizza is still as good as it was when I was in high school. I'd recommend updating the decor in the near future.

This place is great! The ambiance is so much fun and unique that it would be worth the trip just to experience it even if the food wasn't good. Thankfully the food is great as well. The salad bar is simple but very fresh and tastes great, and the pizza is great as well. The pepperoni is unique and is worth getting every time.

We love this place! So charming and takes me back to my childhood. Could be the best salad bar I've ever seen. On one visit here a vegetarian pizza came out poorly but it was fixed quickly and cheerfully and we were given a free pizza coupon for our next visit. We'll definitely be back.

Good Pizza(not the best), nice sized salad bar, interesting atmosphere, and great place for kids. I grew up in Texas and used to come up to Colorado Springs every summer with my folks, until officially moving here some 15 years ago. We always made a stop at Fargo's. So, some 25 years later I now bring my children here, often. Not the best pizza, but I have been coming here for so many years that I have become a creature of habit. Plus, my kids love it.

While in the Springs to see the Boxer Rebellion we stopped at Fargo's for dinner. Fargo's is a stitch, what a fun, old timey themed restaurant. I kept expecting to see the barbershop quartet from Family Guy jump out and sing a number or two about root canals or vasectomies or how the number system works at Fargo's. "Look into the mirror for your nuu-uuumber Then you'll know your order's up, up, up Have salad while you're wa-a-ai-ting Or a sarsaparilla in cup, cup, cup" The food is nothing special. First stop, the salad bar. The base was an iceberg mix with cabbage and carrots for color. Lots of creamy salads like three types of potato salad, pasta salad, slaws, beans, cheeses, bac-o-bits, crackers, croutons and of course, lite Italian dressing which was my choice. They are very firm about the "single trip" option at Fargo's so don't play or you will get admonished by the costumed manager. When your pizza is ready, your number appears in an odd mirror that illuminates the number. There are several of these mirrors throughout the dining area. I'm a bit of a pizza snob, so I'll just leave this one alone. It was edible. To summarize, I'm not sure I'd bee-line to Fargo's next time I'm in Colorado Springs but if you haven't been it's certainly a novelty and worth a visit.

This past week and a half has been a time of "firsts" for me, Fargo's being one of them. I'm not sure how they stay in business as their pizza is dismal at best. Not sure how much they cost as the in-laws paid for dinner but the pizza reminded me of big Totino's pizzas that one can score for typically under a dollar at Walmart. Fargo's confuses me... They have servers that don't serve anything. These "servers" wear costumes reminiscent of the 1800's. It's actually kind of creepy and has to be the 2nd worse job next to dressing like a chicken and dancing on Academy Blvd to advertise hot wings. First and last time I'll go to Fargo's. The pizza version of Casa Bonita minus the Casa Bonita experience.

I've been going to fargos since I was 8 (I'm 38 now). I've been reluctant to admit this to myself, because I've always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but it just continues to get dirtier and the food quality diminishes. It's too bad, it's a colo spgs icon but, unless they invest in a large scale remodel and began caring for the product they're serving, my kid's generation will not want anything to do with them and, neither will I.

I had heard from long-time Colorado Springs residents that Fargo's was a great place to have a pizza, so we gave it a try. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food and the experience. This isn't exactly a "sit-down-and-be-served" place - you pick up your food, utensils, etc. The utensil bins near our table were empty, and I kinda wished I hadn't looked in the empty fork bin - they were pretty dirty in the bottom. Our chairs were worn and some were broken. The food is expensive, compared to other places in the Springs, and the pitchers of soft drinks weren't cheap, either, with NO refills. There is definitely better pizza than here at Fargo's as the pizzas were small, dried-out and very bland. The employees seem bored, frustrated and unenthusiastic about working there. Undoubtedly this was a fun place to eat a long time ago as the pictures on the walls show a much better time, but it needs a visit from the guy on Restaurant Impossible to pump some energy and commitment to better food and service into the place.

Love the pizza, salad and the environment. It is a pizza place set in the early 1900's. The people that work there even dress as if they are still in that era. The pizza was classic. The crust and bottom of the pizza has a lil crunch to it which I loved. The top didnt have too mich sauce and plenty of toppings. The salad bar was really good with lots of options. The holiday decorations are beautiful and the tree lights flash to the music. The only downfall was that u had to order and pay for your drinks in a seperate line.

Fargo's is an 'experience' restaurant. While some reviewers seem put off by the slightly eclectic experience, I personally think that it is pretty neat. Fargo's is a large restaurant that at first glance appears to be a stately Victorian manner. Upon closer inspection one sees animal heads on the wall, an arcade, and a number of other interesting artifacts. The best part of the experience, in my opinion, is the player piano which sets the mood of old-timey kitsch (in a good way). It is the type of restaurant that will enthrall kids, but that adults who don't thrive on pomp can also enjoy. Fargo's is primarily a pizza restaurant. The pizza is good. The pepperoni are thinly sliced so that they curl up and become little crispy bowls of pepperoni grease (and I mean that to be a VERY good thing). I am a believer in the slightly ironic experience that Fargo's offers, and I will continue to dine there with friends and family when I am visiting the Springs.

Pizza leaves much to be desired. Crust is dry and toppings are not very good either. I have had better frozen pizza. The salad bar was decent though and had some of the best ranch I have ever had.

Date night brought us to Fargos Pizza because my date wanted to show me some classic Colorado Springs spots. I had never been, and I was fascinated with the experience! From the outside this place is distinctive... the architecture almost looks Indian? And then inside you get the feel of an old opera house lobby. Lots of vanity lights and mirrors and elaborate carved wood and arched alcoves. It's fun for sure! You order from staff behind the counter wearing period clothing that looks rather uncomfortable but goes with the kitchy vibe here. Then you grab a table that has a view of one of the many mirrors where your order number will light up when your order is ready. Now, of course, you're supposed to get pizza! It's by the pie, not the slice. A personal pie is about the size of a frozen red baron pizza. And, it's oddly similar to frozen pizza - but slightly better. It has that cheap crust with specks of cornmeal and it's browned from the bottom so it has the distinct crunch of a pie you took out of the freezer and baked on the rack. My first instinct was to think "why not just get a $4 pizza from the freezer aisle of walmart and watch a movie at home?" but I became a convert. There's something about the pizza that is just a little bit better than that, and the atmosphere is of course a ton of fun. Families and kids abound, and the energy is upbeat and frenetic. People-watching is at its best, and you get the feeling you're sitting in a little piece of Americana history. And when the player piano starts up it's just fun! Also don't pass up the arcade after you're done with dinner. For $5 apiece we had a blast, were entertained for about an hour, and felt like we were kids again! This is definitely the place to take the kids on a Friday night... or to take your date if you want to feel like a kid again ;)

This place is great for kids. It is clearly a Colorado Springs institution, with older kids (pronounced 'parents', alternately 'grandparents') bringing younger kids to complete the nostalgia circle of cheese. It's not bad cheese, but it's clearly cheese. With a game room, mirrors that light up when your order is ready, a player piano, etc, it's great fun for the younger set. The food is pretty simple, and passable. They have pizza, garlic bread, spaghetti, and a salad bar. That's about it, except for ice cream and a couple cakes for dessert. It is also inexpensive - an 'all you can eat' trip to the salad bar is less than $6. The atmosphere is a little crazy as it is almost always busy, but it's typically a friendly crowd. Be prepared to take the kids back if you take them the first time...

It could have been a much better place. The design is really nice, like a wild west ballroom, and the food is OK. But the fact that you have to stand in line to order drinks separately (and as much as i could tell there is no refill) and the fact that there is no refill for the salad bar is just annoying. especially the salad bar. Apparently, as they say, there is a law against having dirty places in the bar area or something like that but it makes you think how all the other buffet places "get away" with this law. It looks a little bit like a rip off.

The pizza is one of my favorites, but I could see why some wouldn't like it. The crust is dry (in a good way, I prefer that to greasy) and the pepperonis are tiny and delicious. The salad bar is completely simple but perfect. The lettuce is in giant glass containers and kept on ice (love that) and always fresh. The rest of the ingredients are nicely cut and laid out and the area is kept constantly monitored and cleaned. Which is good because I seem to incompetently leave a trail of everything I grab for my bowl- they're cleaning it instantly, as I try to pretend it wasn't me. You can load up a small "once through" bowl with more than you think, but the best thing to do is to get one to go, where they give you a container that you can load up with a huge amount. Usually I'm stopping by just to get an Elaine Benes sized salad to take home. If I'm staying I'll usually get the lunch sized little pizza and a once-through salad- good combo. Everything is relatively cheap. No wait staff to tip- even though it's built like a restaurant, you get a number and pick up your own food and dishes. The building is very unique. A great place to take visitors, especially with kids. It's sometimes a little loud, so if you want it quieter, sit upstairs. Love the place, have been coming here since I was little. Hope the business is doing well and they stick around!

Ok I have some what of a positively biased opionion of this place. I grew up coming here and it has just produced child hood memories i am fond of. Regardless I love this place. It is very family friendly. Unique, and fun! Your order number comes up in the mirrors! They have the best arcade i have ever seen in Colorado Springs, and there all like old pioneer days themed or something. Just very nice decor and ambience. A neat player piano as well thats fun to listen to and feed quarters. The pizza is different than others, which is why I love it, because I like variety. The crust is good and crispy. They put a lot of cheese on the pizza. Not nearly enough sauce though. The pizza sizes are a little off. A large is really a medium. They have a decent salad bar though, and the prices of everything are decent, about the same as other places. I love this place.

Blech! Some of the worst food I've ever had in my life! It almost made me cry. The combination pizza we ordered came covered with raw tomato slices. Was this their idea of a garnish? I'm guessing it's something they normally do (despite not seeing other pizzas decorated like mine) as the lady at the counter asked if anything was wrong as I stood staring at my pizza like it was a frickin' martian. I dug in after flicking off all the tomato slices. This was worse than pizza at Chucky Cheese. It tasted like crap on cheese-flavored cardboard. I also ordered a spaghetti. This dish consisted of some sort of flat noodles topped with some kind of watery meat product. It also smelled like farts. Never trust a dish that smells like farts. I didn't heed my own advice and took a bite. I promptly turned green and spit it out. The decor was interesting and I liked the game room, but the food is inedible garbage. This is like a Spring's Italian version of Casa Bonita without the cliff divers.

I have been eating at this place for years. The pizza is unique. Old world style. Thin crust and I love their pepperoni. Their carrot cake is to die for and only $6 for an entire single layer cake. Don't bother buying the slice...take home the whole thing...you'll be happy you did...trust me! The only recommendation I have is that they really need to remodel. The seats urk me. Some of them are bumpy, torn and stained. That kinda nauseates me so I don't go as much as I would if it was updated. Salad bar is cool but it would be nice if they would use romaine lettuce instead of iceberg...but that's just my preference. If you like to eat ranch dressing with your pizza be ready to shell out the extra 99 cents to do so. Or just bring a bottle of Ken's buttermilk ranch in your purse, LOL!!!

Great for kids. Totally kitschy and would make an amazing bar/club/small concert venue. The pizza tastes identical to a pizza joint in my hometown, so it was very nostalgic for me and I enjoyed it. That being said, pretty thin crust and average. Again, my 6 and 8 y/o LOVED the atmosphere. Fargo's definitely nickel and dime you on everything...so be prepared for that.

What an incredibly weird and wonderful place. My wife and I have vowed to never go to the same restaurant twice and this was next on our list. As soon as you walk in the ambiance smacks you in the face like one of the beheaded buffalo's on the wall trampled you during a stampede. You are immediately taken back by the employees dresses and the old west Hotel theme which match completely. With an ordering station completely separate from the drink station surrounded by golden bars you feel incredibly lost. But don't fret about this because the employees can immediately spot newcomers because they're looking anywhere but at the menu or the person they're talking to. Once you order you receive a number which they will not call out. Instead you have to look at the mirrors lining the walls for your number to magically appear. You then walk up and hand them your ticket. One of the best parts about this place is their salad bar! Something epic, let me tell you what. It is always fully stocked with everything you can possibly think to put on some lettuce. And with an unlimited option, I can see this place excelling as a go-to for just salad. The pizza is just a bonus addition to the atmosphere. I was super skeptical because I assumed that it would be an entertaining "look at this mess" pizza parlor. But with mini peperoni's and quality ingredients in every bite, I have no choice but to enjoy their pizza enough to come back often. If you need your pizza to-go then take it up to where you ordered it and they will package it for you on your way out the door. So after all is said and done. With two floors and an arcade and not to mention the incredible nonsense to look at on the walls.... This is a place to take out of towner's or to have friendly get togethers.

Fargo's is a fun place. We like to have big get-togethers there because the atmosphere is fun and it is easy for everyone to just order their pizza when they arrive. Their pizza is tasty and unique although sometimes a little too unique... giant whole tomatoes covering the entire surface of the veggie pizza. I don't like the cleanliness on the salad bar but overall its a great place.

For as long as I can remember I have been a Fargos fan. The pizza, the salad bar, the relaxed atmosphere, the game room. Its all great. It can get a little crazy during peak dining hours with the kids, but besides this, the food is great.

definitely fun/unique pizza place to visit in colo springs--my family has gone several times over the past 30 years! pizza is pretty good--not super special but I think the fun is in the atmosphere. we had the "golden nuggest"--canadian bacon and pineapple, along with garlic bread. staff were friendly even though we came in close to closing time.

If you love good pizza.... AVOID THIS PLACE!!! It definitely catches your eyw as you drive by, thats probably why I chose to dine there with my wife. Once you walk in you'll notice that it's not the cleanest place in the world. Whereas some people enjoy the pay for food and drinks first, I find it to be inconvenient, if not a little weird. It kinda reminds me of a bowling alley, where you order and wait for your number to be called. Only most bowling alleys have better pizza. I digress. Where was I? Oh drinks... I ordered a beer and they served it in a plastic mug!!! Who does that? Needless to say, my brew tasted funny. Finally we got our pizza... maybe my expectations were too high. It sucked! It completely lacked flavor. The pineapples on it weren't even yellow. They were about the same color as that nasty milk Napoleon Dynamite drank in the movie. I could go on forever but this place is definitely not worth it. Don't eat here! Or, go ahead eat here... your stomach will hate you later.

Just okay pizza - very little flavor, chaotic environment, kid friendly (but you should probably hang on to their hands for dear life), and relatively inexpensive. Of all the pizza establishments to choose from, this probably shouldn't be in your top five.

Wow! What a cool spot! So, we had quite the motley crew in our party. I had a couple of cousins visiting and we had been whitewater rafting all day (aka, we didn't look our best). Another cousin we had never met before met us here and my dear friends from Fountain who recommended the place joined us (for a total of 8 of us). Of course, we came in on a Saturday night with no reservation and a huge boy scout troop had taken over half the restaurant. They had us corralled like cattle in lines based on our party size. By the time we got to the front, they table they wanted to sit us at was downstairs, and there were those in our party with medical conditions not conducive to stair climbing. But, the server was very cool and tracked down a table on the main floor for us. It's set up a little weird, you get your table, then you go to a counter to order your food & pay, then to a drink stand to order your drinks & pay (yes, you pay twice). If you are on a low-carb diet, this place is not for you. Not only do they have nothing low-carb on the menu, there is nothing even close that can be modified. Be prepared to grub on some carb-o-licious pasta or pizza. After you order, there are mirrors throughout the restaurant that show when your order is ready "keno style" with glowing numbers. Then, you go grab your cafeteria tray of food and head back to your table. The food is pretty phenominal. I did not hear any complaints, even from the really picky people. I had the sampler pasta and it was wonderful, rich sauces and tasty noodles. And the price was fantastic. There weren't many entrees over $10! I will definitely be back when in the area. This place is a hoot!

Ambiance: Very gimmicky turn-of-the-century 1900 atmosphere. Victorian decor. Old fashioned player-piano adds to a sort of "barbershop quartet" vibe. This place is a Colorado Springs landmark, that gets by on his kitschy reputation. I think many adults have fond memories of this place as a kid. Place now seems very tired and worn. Needs a major renovation. Place shows it's age (and not in a good way). There is a video arcade for the kids. Lots and lots of unattended kids running around, so get ready for that. Service: Unengaged counter help. Girls wearing long, Victorian dresses with lace blouses help you at counter. The pierced noses and tongues sort of defeat the "look" they are trying to pull off. About a 15 minute wait for your number to be called. Food: One of the worst pizzas in town. Some frozen grocery store varieties are better. Tacky 70's style salad bar, features only iceberg lettuce and instant chocolate pudding for dessert. Overall, not liking this place at all. The 100 year-old decorations and vibe is what draws people here, that aren't really into good pizza. I know I am sounding "food snobby" here, but this place is awful, and the place is a dump, and the clientele seem to be the same sort that eat lots of fast food for dinner out with their families. I guarantee if I took people who eat here regularly, blindfold them, and offer them pizza from say here, Boriello Brothers, Louie's, Il Vicino and Pizzeria Rustica, that this place would finish dead last every time. This place is all flash over substance.

Although Fargo's has delicious pizza, it is the atmosphere that truly makes this restaurant shine. You order your pizza at a counter and then wait for your number to appear on mirrors placed around the building. The player piano livens up the restaurant and adds a feeling of nostalgia. Overall, Fargo's offers a great experience for those in the Colorado Springs area.

Ok... this place is cheesy, but that's a point. And as far as cheesy goes, they pull it off pretty well. This is a "theme" restaurant, where the theme is something of a riverboat, 1800's sort of deal (I think). In my mind, as I drove by, I'd always compared it to Casa Bonita in Denver (super cheesy, bad Mexican food, with indoor cliff divers). It's not quite as cheesy as that, but they do a nice job of keeping the place up and everything is clean and well maintained. Given the fact that this place has been around forever and all the locals seem to have fond childhood memories of this place, I had to try it out. The ordering set up is a little weird. You order and pay for your meal at one counter. Then you order and pay for your drinks at another counter. They take credit cards, but if you're using a credit card that leaves you making two separate transactions. I didn't want to charge $2.50 for 2 iced teas (probably the cheapest iced tea in town) so I hit the ATM, which only had a dollar service fee. Really, this place is like going back in time. Once you place your order, you go find a table and then watch for your number, which lights up in a series of mirrors on the wall throughout the dining room - then you go get your food. Sort of odd, but it works. The salad bar is well stocked, and only $3.60 for one trip. The bowls they give you are fairly small, but for that price I didn't feel gypped at all. The pizza was fair. Nothing to write home about, but not awful either. The crust is actually pretty tasty and had corn meal on the bottom, which I'm a fan of. There was a noticeable lack of sauce though, with was a bit of a disappointment. Adding come pepper flakes helped. I got a 9" pepperoni and mushroom for under $7. Nothing too special. My friend got a veggie and it had whole slices of fresh tomatoes covering almost the entire surface of the pizza. Looked pretty interesting. We were there on a Saturday afternoon at around 2pm and the crowd provided for some interesting people watching. Nothing scary, just a random mix. I'm guessing that it gets pretty packed on Fri / Sat nights. They have a huge lobby and parking lot, and if those were full, the wait would be substantial. I don't think it'd be worth waiting under those conditions, but it wasn't bad on a Saturday afternoon after a bike ride. Beer selection is limited to a few standard domestics, with pitches at about $9 and glasses at $3.50. It was fairly quiet when we were there, but if it was crowded, I imagine it'd get pretty loud. The place is HUGE, by the way. Would I go back? Probably not on my own accord, but if I had family or friends with kids in town, sure. The service and overall experience are WAY better than the airplane restaurant in town, which would also be on the list to take the kiddos. Why'd I give it 4 stars? Because they seem like they're making an effort to keep things up, everyone was friendly and helpful, and it was a pleasant experience overall. But for food, it's just average.

Decent atmosphere but the pizza was sub-par. I'd rather skip the decor for food that wasn't frozen.... At least it was inexpensive. Also, why do I have to pay for the drinks separately?!

I lived in Colorado Springs in the mid 80s as a child and visited my grandparents every summer growing up. We always made it a point to stop a Fargo's. This place is definitely kitschy from the over the top Gold Rush theme to the player piano which is fine by me. I spend endless hours throwing quarters into the piano or watching for my number to appear on the mirror. That is some pretty exciting stuff for a 4 year old. I don't think Fargo's would have stayed in business so long if it weren't for the pizza. It is really good. My favorite is the pepperoni, I love how they curl up into a mini bowl shaped 'ronis. Also their salad bar has some of the best ranch dressing I have ever had in my life! I stopped by here last Tuesday to find Fargo's basically untouched from when I first started coming here 25 years ago. My grandparents are now gone and I live in a different state but sometimes it is just nice to know somethings don't change.

Fargo's is one of the strangest "Family Restaurants" in Colorado Springs. I've never understood the draw. Their pizza is not good, and the atmosphere is strange and eclectic. It's a HUGE building that you'd almost imagine is haunted at night, and the servers walk around in flowing, neck-high, lacy white victorian dresses. Honky tonk pianos, brass-knob staircases and huge chandeliers fill its massive two-story dining hall. I think the reason people go here is because it's so big that it's a good place for events (graduations, ceremonies, family get-togethers, etc). I really feel like a Scrooge by poo-pooing this place, but I've been to so many different get-togethers here and just don't get it. Not for me.

  • Brandon G.

If you want quality pizza go here. I know some people say "Pizza is pizza" and that there isn't really any reason to spend more on quality. Well if not the quality of pizza that brings you here (which is damn good) the environment will definitely captivate you. It has an old-like style to it. Self playing piano is sometimes on and the chandeliers make me stare into it like a baby stares into those hanging crib toys. The lighting is relaxing and it has two floors. Not separate though, sort of like a indoor balcony. I always liked sitting on top. They also have beer. A couple brews. Not much but if you are the person that likes beer and pizza it will satisfy your needs. To supplement the environment the workers also wear an antiquated uniform which is kinda cool. I wouldn't want to wear it though. Looks really hot to work in. Though the price is probably higher than Pizza Hut the service, quality and environment beat any place hands down. I will definitely be coming back to this place when I visit home again.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to review Fargo's, probably the thing I miss most (besides my family) about living in Colorado Springs. First, the food. The pizza is unlike any pizza i've ever experienced. It's delicious. Something about the tomato-sauce-infused, cornmeal dusted crispy crust, the little bowl-shaped pepperonis and the gooiest mozzarella cheese... it's outstanding. Never have I gone to Fargo's and not left with an abnormally distended abdomen. I always say "just a few pieces" and end up eating a ton because it's that good. In good ol' Colorado Springs, there are not many options for pizza outside of the usual chain restaurants anda couple local places. Nothing to write home about, but Fargo's delivers a pizza that you will be left thinking about for days afterwards, and most likely developing an addiction for. They also have a mediocre salad bar (all you can eat!), plus pastas, sandwiches, and desserts, including the best carrot cake in town as well. It's not full of nuts and raisins and crap, and the cream cheese icing is to die for. The BBQ beef sandwich is another one of those mouth-watering, addictive entrees that'll have you coming back again and again, regardless of what you think of the environment. Fargos also features a tiny bar with beer on tap, plus soda by the pitcher (look for coupons in the local newspaper TV guide) and a huge arcade to keep the kiddies at bay while you digest your huge pile of pizza that you just ate. Now, onto the "experience". Fargo's is modeled after an old Victorian-era mansion. Yes, it's a little run-down and could use a good cleaning, but you won't notice unless you really start poking around. There are dusty old moose, deer, buffalo and bear heads on the walls, a creepy player piano that's always playing that song from "The Sting" (you know the one), and crystal chandeliers everywhere with a few light bulbs out here and there, but you're not there for the ambience, right? Kids love it though, just because it's so unlike anything that exists in the rest of the state of Colorado. One cool feature is a huge fireplace with sofas and a coffee table where you can dine or have coffee or beers after supper. The coolest thing is the way they tell you your food is ready, since you place your order at a bar right when you walk in. They give you a little slip of paper with a number printed on it, and the following poem: "When your dinner's ready, no voice will call, Your number will appear in the mirror on the wall." (I memorized that from going there so many times as a kid.) The beauty of Fargo's is that it's totally self-service, but set up in such a way that you always have easy access to anything you need. Salad bar: check. Clean plates: check. Soda refill: check. Food: check. Very efficient, and eliminates the need for waiters. We still leave a small tip for the busboys, though. (Have you ever been a busboy?) They just started accepting credit cards (finally) and there's an ATM right in the usually packed lobby. If you want to try the food and ambience in a less-busy setting, go in for lunch on a weekday. It's a fantastically affordable place for a birthday party as well. Simply make a reservation, and they'll set aside a large section upstairs for your whole group. We've had groups of over 50 people, and with the floorplan and self-service, there have never been any problems. In conclusion, Fargo's can be heaven if you go in with the right attitude. Unique, delicious pizza and sandwiches, low prices, plenty of seating and parking, stuff for the kids and a player piano. What more could you ask for? BONUS: while you're waiting for your number, head upstairs and check out the wax statues of Mr. Fargo and his sweetheart, Sophia, having dinner on a small balcony overlooking the main floor. Last time I was there, his pinky finger fell off and was sitting in the ashtray! Awesome!

This is one place I always make an effort to stop by when I'm in the area. The pepperoni is my favorite. I like to go sit upstairs, where I can overlook the floor below. The style of the interior has a western feel, complete with the dressed up servers in old dresses and bow-tied bartender. Their pizza tastes great both hot or cold. You order and get a number, then go sit down and check the mirrors placed around the restaurant for your number to appear. It's kinda neat. Posters and paintings adorn the walls. I've never tried the salad bar, but it's placed in the middle of the restaurant. I often see groups, families, and senior couples. Family-oriented place; no alcohol, safe for kids =] Unique environment, with old style decorations that make the place stand out. Recommended for visitors to the area.

This place...it gets you somehow. I literally moved to Colorado Springs 4 days ago and had visited before only once a couple months ago. But my boyfriend swears by this place and loves it so much that I've already been here like 5 times. When I first tried the pizza I didn't get it. I thought Papa Johns had better pizza. And the price is a little steep, $18 for a "giant" with just extra cheese. The slices aren't that big. I get the whole "it's like frozen pizza" but it's better than that. Not the best, but it's grown on me. The salad bar is small but everything on it is pretty delicious. I actually find myself craving the pizza. It's no 5 star meal but there is just something about the place. It has a Victorian theme, I don't know what's so "weird" about that. It's the theme of the place and therefore things will not be like walking into a regular contemporary restaurant. Every time I've gone the staff has been friendly. The arcade is pretty old, but it doesn't mean you can't play and have fun! They're still games! I'll be def coming back :)

The place is weird, old and dirty. The coolest part is how you know your food is ready by looking for your number in a mirror. I have had better pizza frozen from a box though. Every time someone says this is good pizza it makes my heart die a little more.

Great place for families with kids. Not my type of pizza but I like mine a little more gourmet plus this place has a non-existent wine list. My son loved the pencil toppers though for 25 cents a piece :)

Went to Fargo's today and ordered a salad. I asked for an extra little dessert bowl to use for my salad dressing. I noticed she wrote .75 on my ticket so I asked her if she was charging me for the bowl. THEN she told me I was being charged $.75 for the extra bowl. She said they started doing this when they got rid of the all-you-can-eat salad (a bad decision) which is untrue since I always get an extra bowl. Needless to say, I gave her back the bowl. I ask you - $.75 for a little foam bowl? I used the bowl for my dressing and then used their napkins to wipe it out to use for my dessert. I hope it cost them more than the extra bowl! Next time I will go to Bambino's. They still have all-you-can-eat salad AND pizza! This is not good customer service on the part of Fargo's. I mean, it's not like their pizza is gourmet anyway!

I've been coming here since I was 4 years old. I don't live in the Springs, but all of my grand parents do. Whenever I would visit, this is the place we'd all go. I think I enjoy Fargo's these days just because it has so many memories for me. Sadly 1 set of grand parents are no longer here, but I continue to go back and it reminds me of all the times I spend with them here. I don't make it out there as much anymore, but I was there just a couple of days ago. The service was fine, the piano still plays, the carpet is still the same. It was a little dirty in spots, but other then that, it was everything I remember it being.

I love Fargo's! I understand that the food and experience might not be for everyone, but I enjoy the salad bar, pizza, and cake. If you are looking for a family friendly place and something a little different give it a try.

We've been going to Fargo's since we moved to the Springs in 1994. It is a wonderful family place. Every soccer/baseball team that my sons have been on have had their end of the season at this place. The pizza is good (I love the veggie pizza covered with tomatoes) and is made pretty quick considering how busy this place gets at times. If you have room, try their carrot cake - it is moist and inexpensive.

This is how pizza was done in the old west! Really though, you go there for the gimmick, it's a Colorado Springs landmark but then, get this, the food is great!

Dirty. Pizza tastes like red baron frozen pizza. Inconvenient ordering system. Tons of employees standing around doing nothing but talking and swinging dish rags.

I remember as a kid being taken to Fargo's for special occasions: birthday parties, celebrations after little league games, blow outs after wrestling competitions. For all the years I remember, the restaurant has not changed. It has garish buffalo heads, deer, and other assorted wildlife. There's also a lot of old photos - dress designs, old buildings, etc. The people who work there dress in period dress from the late 1800's. The large restaurant is popular with everyone I know. It has two levels, lots of tables, and is perfectly sized for a crowd. Hence, as one reviewer states, it's almost always busy. The pizza is great, with a thin, delicate crust, tasty sauce, and the best tiny little pepperonis. They have a salad bar and a separate drink bar with awesome sundaes.

was not that impressive has early 20th century decor and it was a little odd that the lady workers dressed up in old fashioned dresses glad i didn't live in the early 20th century with pizza like that

I'd give their pizza a 4 out of 5 stars but the atmosphere is great and that bumps everything up to a 5! The pizza is good. It's not the best you've ever had...but it is very good. We like the mainliner. The salad bar has a nice selection. The home made carrot cake is one of the best carrot cakes I've ever had and it's only about $6.99 for a whole cake that will feed about 8-10 people (don't hold me to that). The atmosphere is set up like a cross between a late 1800s old West saloon and an old riverboat. It is two stories with a player piano, old west relics, and a very cool bar where you have to order your soft drinks. I recommend the rootbeer in a pitcher. They have a huge arcade and gumball machine room for the kids. It's not the the cleanest arcade but the kids don't mind! My review won't do it justices. This place makes it feel like you're on vacation at Disneyworld. It's great.

This is a really cool atmosphere to eat in! The pizza place is modeled after an early 1900's restaurant. Your order number is a set of lights, high up on the ceiling, which lights up when your order is ready! The pizza is alright, the atmosphere is more what you are looking for here. However, I love their take out salads! It is a huge portion, and if you are a fan of Ranch dressing, they have the best! Good place to eat...

The pizza was awesome! A delicious crust with heaped toppings and scrumptitious tomato sauce.. what more could you ask for! The decor was really something, too... a definite stand-out-in-your-mind kind of place. Very family friendly, vegetarian friendly, and reasonably priced (we got two medium sized pies and garlic bread for around $20, and ended up taking one whole pie home) The garlic bread was not the greatest (hence the 4 stars, as to me, garlic bread is an essential component of any pizza excursion) but other than that, this place is spectacular.

It is interesting to see the variety of ratings on this place. I guess people either like it or they don't. I have to admit my rating comes from place of nostalgia. I grew up as a kid in the 70's in Colorado Springs. Fargo's was our family's place to go for the pizza night out. I loved it then and always remember it being packed full, line out the door, etc. I remembered the pizza being good. We left Colorado when I was 9. I have been back to Colorado Springs a couple times in my adult life, as well as Fargo's. My last trip to Fargo's was a couple years ago. The place hasn't changed. While it still cute in some ways, the decor is run down and could really use restoration if the theme is to remain the same. The pizza is still good. I don't remember if anything has been added to the menu as I am truly going for the pizza and relive a few minutes of my childhood. They must be doing something right to be staying in business this long.

Food is 5 stars (best thin crust pizza in CS, great soups). Price is 5 stars, service is N/A (but the concept is great and saves money on tip and the low prices). For families its also probably the best overall option in town. Salad bar is only so so.

  • Tim E.

  • Jonathan B.

I really like the decor here. The pizza is just okay though. There is a thick layer of dust on everything and the place could really use a good cleaning. The staff at the front counter was nice and friendly. Prices could be a little more reasonable. I do highly recommend the carrot cake, it's delicious!!

Frozen pizza that is not thoroughly cooked. A crappy salad bar that you can only go through once for 5 dollars. Screaming children everywhere. NOT WORTH IT!

Cheese.

This restaurant has a unique atmosphere. However, the high prices, bad food, and poor service are reasons why I do not visit frequently.

We love this place! So charming and takes me back to my childhood. Could be the best salad bar I've ever seen. On one visit here a vegetarian pizza came out poorly but it was fixed quickly and cheerfully and we were given a free pizza coupon for our next visit. We'll definitely be back.

Pizza leaves much to be desired. Crust is dry and toppings are not very good either. I have had better frozen pizza. The salad bar was decent though and had some of the best ranch I have ever had.

  • Dan P.

  • Gil S.

Just okay pizza - very little flavor, chaotic environment, kid friendly (but you should probably hang on to their hands for dear life), and relatively inexpensive. Of all the pizza establishments to choose from, this probably shouldn't be in your top five.

Not for me.

Awesome!

Think maybe I had my expectations set a little high, was expecting this huge great salad bar... and it was more like Chuck E. Cheese's, wasn't impressed with pizza either.

Decent atmosphere but the pizza was sub-par. I'd rather skip the decor for food that wasn't frozen.... At least it was inexpensive. Also, why do I have to pay for the drinks separately?!

Best pizza in Colorado Springs! The food is consistently great and the place is cool! Magic mirrors tell you when your pizza is ready. LOTS of fun for kids (game room)
