My road to China Town Restaurant began when I asked my coworker (a cocktail aficionado) where I could find tiki cocktails in town. He said the only good ones he's had were at China Town Restaurant; he also praised their food as the best Chinese food in town. So, I decided to give it a try. From the beginning, the service was fantastic, with tea and hot towels at the start. Everyone was very attentive and willing to strike up conversation. I ordered a mai tai and the roast duck. The mai tai was delicious, and served in a thick plastic novelty mug--as tiki cocktails should be (this one looked more like Kong Fuzi than a tiki, which was a fun twist). The duck was delicious--the best roast duck I've had. Although the price is a few dollars more than most other meals, it was well worth it: they give you half a duck, which is quite a lot of meat! In fact, I had to take some of it home. China Town Restaurant is a fantastic place; I know I'll be coming here again!

Interesting decor and reasonable prices for the large portions that are served. I ordered the moo-shi chicken and it was pretty good. Nothing special, but it was flavorful. However, the cashew chicken was the most disgusting Chinese food I've ever seen or eaten. It was bland and slimy from all the celery that was in the dish. The chicken tasted processed. I would hope for better consistency in what is served.

The atmosphere was nice, the people were attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. But that was yesterday. Today I have aggressive diarrhea. May be time for a little visit from the health inspector. Just sayin

I have a friend that was a restaurant inspector that gives this place great reviews. I have also been here numerous times with great results and great food. Happy customer- will return!

Like with every other business that had in house delivery but switched to Gowaiter, I decided to give China Town a BAD review. Now I have to wait for my food 30 minutes longer, pay $5 more and get the food all scrambled because the Gowaiter driver didn't give a crap that the bag fell over and all the sauces spilled. The food is otherwise pretty decent (hence the 2 stars instead of 1)

Last night I had a great experience there. The food ( crispy duck) was amazing, very good with the plum sauce. Also the waiter there was very nice and very talkative and we got to speak about crazy Asian foods and the waiter also made a really good Mai tai as well. The people there are very friendly and make great food!

Highly disappointed. There were some great reviews for this place, so I decided to give it a try on delivery. Expensive for lumps of grossness. I had gotten sesame chicken, vegetable chow mein, and a small box of rice. The chow mein was an incredibly watery and goopy mess. And the sesame chicken might as well have been sweet and sour chicken with sesame seeds on it. Others were commenting on big portions, but mine was no different from average. No napkins or utensils. The only pro about this experience was the delivery, it came right on time.

I had lunch at China Town today. The food is bland and very average. The meals are white, White chicken, whitish pork, etc. There are no seasonings. It would be a good meal to feed to someone on a very bland diet. No one came back by my table to ask if I needed anything else. I paid at the cash register, used the restroom and went to my car in the parking lot. Next thing I know...a Chinese man came running up to my car yelling in Chinese and flailing his arms. The only word I could understand was the word "pay", so I assumed he thought I didn't pay. I calmly told him that I did pay and he kept yelling at me. Once again I told him that I had paid and he went back inside and was yelling at someone inside. Won't be back.

Worse Chinese food in the springs. If I could give them a negative 5 stars I would. Ordered food at 6 pm it is now 9 pm and I just got back from getting my order. A little advice, check your order before leaving and if English is your first language then just forget disputing your order. They over charged and then forgot a whole order. I called back to see if I could come back and get it and they fought with me saying they gave it to me. Once I got back there and argued in person they have me my chicken but it was cold and nasty. If you want Chinese food without the hassle go somewhere else please. If you're reading someone leaves comment on how good they are just add there comments to ignorance.

Worst duck I ever had. I had this delivered. Not only did it take 1 1/2 hours to arrive, when it did, it was so dry and overcooked that it was inedible. The fried rice was like none I ever had before ( not in a good way). It's certainly like the New York Chinese food I'm used to. What a shame.

I thought this place was great! The food was good. They served us a free hot tea to start (which was delicious - I wanted to drink the whole pot!). We both had the Egg Flower soup (which I think it's hard to go wrong there). I had the Chicken Lo Mein and he had the Beef Lo Mein, and we both loved them. The egg rolls have pork in them, which I don't eat, so I can't comment on that; but egg rolls come with all of their lunch options. The restaurant is clean, the service was fast, the food was good. I think they live up to the main expectations anyone would have going out to eat.

Love this place. I eat lunch here at least once a week. The lunch menu is an amazing value and the food is really good. I usually get the Garlic Pork (off the menu) and it is always great. The staff are nice and they are always consistent. They have really nice touches, like a hot towel and a pot of tea. The lunch menu comes with your choice of an entree, egg roll, rice and soup. All for under $6. Highly recommend.

Awesome hot and sour soup! Sweet and sour pork was good! Would definitely a place to recommend! They also give you a hot towel to wash hands when you are seated! Very nice!

Amazing! I love the food here especially because it is actually owned and operated by Chinese people. I love being able to speak chinese again, because you don't come across a lot of native tongue speakers in CO. Their food in my opinion is superb, they actually have dishes where you will see in an authentic chinese restaurant in bigger cities like New York etc.. this is the best you will get in the Springs, I'm chinese and grew up eating chinese food, I love their peking duck and crispy duck, I always order that. And for the other review here that says sesame chicken is supposed to be spicy.. I don't know what kind of sesame chicken you're eating but it's definitely not chinese.

I was very impressed with Chinatown! We tried it for the first time last night. I loved it but the husband says he still prefers Coal Mine Dragon. That being said, this is the best vegetable chow Mein I've had since moving to Colorado. The vegetable fried rice was also tasty. Big portions for a good price. Beware though, their spring rolls are not vegetarian!

Unlike mexican restaurants, I am totally skeched out by new chinese restaurants. But, this is one of my co-workers favorite places so I decided to face my fears and give it a try. I am not adventurous at all when it comes to chinese food and this case was no different, so I stuck to my usual chicken fried rice. It was delicious! The flavor was perfect and the chicken was actually cut into bite sized peices, which I awlays appreciate. Also, the hot and sour soup... delicious! I have never had hot and sour soup before so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but the taste was just right for me. Just the perfect amount of spice. Our waiter was great. He remembered all of our orders and got everything right. Plus, he was funny and came at all the right times. Overall, I would definitely eat here again.

I went here for the first time on April 16, 2015 for dinner. The owner was very friendly and it's nice the way he brings you a hot towel and a pot of tea - the tea was good and welcome on a snowy night. I have a standard dish that I order to size up a Chinese restaurant that I've never been to before: kung pao chicken. So I ordered spring rolls and kung pao chicken. The spring rolls were OK and they did bring hot mustard, which I like. The kung pao chicken really made me once again appreciate my favorite Chinese restaurant back home in San Diego. The kung pao chicken here was edible, but bland and unimaginative. I appreciated the large portion, but as a dish, it wasn't up to the standard I have enjoyed elsewhere. Maybe this is just as good as it gets in C. Springs. Maybe I'll go back and try something else sometime because I do travel here frequently.

Waited almost 2 hours for our food. The total on the site showed a different amount than at the time of delivery and the food was definitely not worth the price or the time waiting. And to put a cherry on top, there was no fortune in my fortune cookie. All in all I'd say a 2 out of 5 at the most.

We've been going for nearly 20 years and they never disappoint. We're treated like family by the owner and staff, who also make a big deal over our children. Order the moo-shu Chinese pancakes and watch them make them before your eyes. Colorado Springs is basically a Chinese food wasteland with China Town as the only exception to the rule. By the way, go for lunch and you get a monster meal for about $6. Also, the Chinese New Year's dinner (reservation only) is to die for.

Just moved to CO Springs from Brooklyn, and NEVER in my life have I tasted, anything disgusting as the food here. The fired rice tasted sour, as if expired. Their rolls tasted like it was a something they cooked 2 days ago and just reheated and threw in the bag.Their food made myself and my fiance ill. We were both vomiting after just a few bites. We're both from NY we know Chinese food; we lived in a part of Brooklyn, we the locals call the Brooklyn China Town AND this 100% was not it. Rotten food. Horrible customer service. If you like our food coming a few minutes later by all means order from here, if you want good Chinese food or just food in general better take your chances else were. what complete crap, it would have been better if i took my money and just flushed it down the toilet instead of the food i got from here. Complete garbage; eat at your own risk

They offer more than most. Free tea. Hot towels. Large portions. Fairly inexpensive...lunch specials are amazing. Friendly fast service. Try this place! Soup does not come free with takeouts.

Service- great Decor- very interesting Food- MEH. Big Portions, lots of meat, but all the dishes were bland, I don't think they even season with salt and pepper. all the 'spicy' dishes were not. The hot & sour soup had the right amount of 'sour', just not enough 'hot'. I will give them another shot, and ask them to turn up the heat next time.

I have driven past this place for years and have never given it a second thought. Until I heard someone rave about it and looked it up on yelp. Whats usually a sure fire win for me (fantastic reviews from strangers and a recommendation from someone I know) I did not enjoy my meal. We enjoyed the towel service and tea at the beginning of our meal but it went downhill from there. My family started with fried dumplings and crab rangoons. The dumplings were great but the rangoons were kind of skimpy on the filling. We also ordered wonton soup. Very bland. Then we ordered assorted lo mein and sesame chicken. Sesame chicken is supposed to be spicy but this was more sweet and sour with sesame seeds than anything. The lo mein was super bland. The portions were not what we were used to for a Chinese place either so be prepared to be hungry later. And then we waited at least 15 minutes before my husband finally flagged down a server to get our check. Check out china village for a much better experience if you want Chinese food here in the Springs.

Loved this place! Food was very good - my picky children ate everything. The people working there were very sweet. We will be back.

I wish I could give this place 6 stars considering the factor of 1. the food is good, 2. the only authentic chinese cuisine in colorado springs. This is as close as you can get for authentic chinese food, I'm not talking about no beef and broccoli mind you, I ordered, seafood hotpot, peking duck, seafood bird's nest, and etc. Sure does not sound like a typical chinese fast food joint. It was yummy, the waiter and boss was very attentive, I felt right at home! Prices were great, I tipped $15 for a dine in for 2 because it was that awesome, I'll be going back more often. They also have a cocktail bar!!! Btw, they do delivery but only if you order through gowaiter.com , the restaurant itself does not deliver.

I was recommended by a friend, but I wasn't really impressed with the food. My wife and I ordered the spare ribs, beef lo mein, and general tso's chicken. The ribs were pretty tasty and were in small, bite sized portions. The beef lo mein was very bland without any flavor and it had the consistency of soup rather than a plated entree. There wasn't really anything great about the general tso's chicken either. I could definitely tell they put ginger in the dish. That's about all you could taste other than the bland chicken. The overall experience wasn't bad, but some quality control should be enforced. The fortune cookies were tasty though.

Ordered here because of the ratings. Not that great. Panda off Cheyenne is much better. Lo Mein is always hit or miss, and this was a miss. Egg rolls and fried potstickers were good though.

Ambiance: Medium-sized, typically decorated Colorado Springs-type Chinese restaurant. Casual. Service: Prompt and efficient. Friendly server. Food: Really not much to stay. Pretty much the same as the scores and scores of mediocre Chinese restaurants in town. Nothing to set it apart from it's competition. Ordered a stir fry of crispy pan-fried noodles, vegetables and seafood that was ok. This is your average chop-suey house. Can't say too much bad about this place, and the price is right, but nothing inspiring about it either. I've had better for sure.

Good food, great prices, nice servers, fast! You cannot beat the lunches... comes with soup and eggroll and a large meal...always take home leftovers. They bring you a hot towel to wash hands. Definitely will continue going. The only thing is... they are not open on Sundays... and we love going out after church on Sundays.

This is me and my wife's favorite Chinese restaurant. The service is always excellent and the food is consistently satisfying for a very reasonable price. When my co-workers have been in Colorado Springs they have enjoyed it as well. My wife loves their Pepper Steak and I enjoy the sweet and sour chicken or sesame chicken.

This is my favorite place The price for the lunch menu is excellent and dinner is not too bad either. My family eats here about once a month and the kids love it. Typical family owned and run with pretty good service. Foor is always quick and tasty with huge portions. Come on an empty stomach and leave with leftovers! Its awesome!

The prices may be low, but I'd rather pay 2 dollars extra for a dish than eat here, the food is uncolorful and horrible tasting, cheap ingredients, do not recomment it, Yuck!

We have been eating at this pcae for the past 7 years...yes we like PFChangs and good quality chinese food...but they not only have great food but you can not believe their prices either. Lunch if almost for free! The food is always fresh, tasty, they have great free tee and a nice quiet place where you can rest at after a long day at work! Keep it up!

This is a great restaurant for lunch. The food is of excellent quality, consistency, freshness and flavor. An average lunch is around $6 per person. I've never eaten dinner here, so I can't speak for the dinner menu, but I've never had a bad lunch here so I would assume that dinner is good too.

I had a similar negative experience. First impression was food was delivered leaking all over the bag. No utensils, chopsticks, or napkins. Double cooked pork was dried out and the meal had no flavor. I felt fortunate that I had ordered a pork lo mein also, but that ended when I opened the box. It was a pile of mush and it was hard to distinguish what was what. I found a noodle and it was squishy and slimy. The side of fried rice was good though. Delivery was very fast. Maybe some of their other meals are good but these were not two of them.

Very tasty food and excellent service. Atmosphere was a little basic, but the food made up for it.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
