Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Borriello Bros is okay when you're craving some NY style pizza. They always deliver sooner than their ETA which is great. The garlic knots aren't anything special. They're pretty small and the marinara portion it comes with is weak. As far a pizza toppings, they have a solid selection. Delivery staff is speedy and friendly. Gotta ask for red pepper and parm if you need it though. I feel like this location used to be better quality. It seems like as of lately they're pretty stingy with the sauce, cheese and toppings. Two dollars a topping for an 18" isn't completely unreasonable but I expect to get more than a few widely spaced veggies. Bummer.

Tried this place out on a whim after I had heard positive things from many of my friends. I ordered two pizzas, some garlic knots, and a piece of chocolate cake. The person who took my order repeated everything back to me and it seemed like everything was on the right track. There were maybe 5 other people in the building. It took almost half an hour for my name to be called, and I only received one of the pizzas I ordered. I re-told the cashier what I was still missing and she said she would put my first pizza in a warmer while the second was made. They apparently didn't get one of the pizzas the first time, and I didn't notice because it was pretty pricey and I figured for sure I was paying for two pizzas! She was very sullen both times I interacted with her and got a little huffy when I had to re-explain what I ordered. Having worked in customer service/the service industry for many years, I'm very understanding when mistakes happen, so this was all a little weird, but I let it go, no big deal. Then, one of the managers came and talked to me. They still apparently didn't understand what I was asking for (it really wasn't complicated: one specialty pizza, one cheese pizza, and the other sides), so I had to explain it a third time. He was a little more friendly, but never offered an apology or an explanation as to what the deal was. In between my talking to them, other people were coming in and it seemed like they were having issues with their orders too. One group had a groupon and none of the workers seemed to know how to redeem it. During my trips to the counter, all of the workers seemed, quite frankly, like bored high school students who didn't want to be there. They were openly arguing, yelling, and just generally making the atmosphere a little uncomfortable. After the final time I had to explain myself, one of the cooks groaned, "What happened now??!!?" When the manager started speaking to him and rolled his eyes and and pouted when it was being examined to him. Almost an hour later, we had our food and went home. The garlic knots were outstanding! Very tasty, seasoned just right. While the pizzas were pretty good, they weren't worth the hassle or price. Very thin and not that much flavor or toppings. If this really is what New York pizza like, I have to say I'm not impressed. For comparison, we got Blackjack pizza about a week later and it was less than half the price, much better tasting, and the service was amazing. I'll defiantly try this place again, as I've heard good things. Hopefully my experience was an off night. Better be safe and verify my order a few times in the future!

We've come here a few times, and I'm really torn. Pizza is great (if it's what you ordered). Service and accuracy of order is hit and miss. And if the pizza you get isn't the pizza you ordered, it makes for not so great pizza. FOOD This is probably our favorite to-go pizza place. They just have really good NY pizza. We always order a half Five Boroughs half Bianca with sauce. Whether that's what we ACTUALLY end up getting or not is always a toss up. Their garlic knots are pretty good -- not the best I've had but they hit the spot. Their marinara is tasty, too. Although if you get a large order, ask for an extra sauce since they just give you a tiny one. The house salad is really basic. Iceburg, shredded carrot, huge chunks of tomatoes and thick chunks of red onion (usually have to pick half these out). SERVICE Everyone is nice enough. But -- as one example -- last night I ordered an order of knots, a house salad and a large 1/2 Bianca and 1/2 Five Boroughs with sauce on the entire thing (repeated twice). What my husband brought home was TWO orders of knots, a salad, and an EXTRA large without sauce on the Bianca half. And it took them a few minutes to find the order because it was under Luluia. And it was a whopping $39. And of course by the time you get it home, what recourse is there? You're not gonna take it back ... COST We normally get salad, knots and a medium pizza for about $21 -- or you can get a Groupon for it for $12. If, however, they get your order wrong and charge you more then yeah -- it'll get expensive. OVERALL Be really, really specific. Make them repeat it back to you. Check your order before you leave or when it arrives. And make sure if you order and you're not the one picking it up, that the person picking it up knows EXACTLY what you ordered. Otherwise, you'll get stuck with a pizza you don't want, so much food you won't eat it all and pay more than you planned.

Great pizzas and calzones. Love that they have slices just about any time of day. Staff is always friendly and service quick for being so fresh.

We ordered a pizza form them because normally it's a good business but tonight they fell below the grading system. We placed an order and waited 1hr and 30 mins for it to come. We had to call and see why it was taking so long and they has cancelled the order because they said we were not on their map! Even tho we have order a handful of times from them. They didn't even brother to call us and tell us the order was void. Then they tell me that it will be a 4 to 5 day until I get my money back!??? Never again.
(1)Dan P.
Update: I hadn't noticed until now, but they messaged me here apologizing and asking me to email them to look into this further. Not taking them up on that, but this is a good practice. Only fair to report.

I'll start with the good thing (I wish I could add an 's' to that) - the pizza itself, once reheated, was delicious! Now, when I say reheated, I don't mean when we ate leftovers. I mean that when the pizza arrived, the box was cold and the pizza was room temperature. Not hot, not lukewarm, but room temperature. We had to heat up the oven in order to have the pizza as it was intended to be eaten. As to the service? We ordered a pizza on December 31st at 5:45pm. We were told it would take between an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes for the delivery, and since it's New Year's Eve, we understood. So, we waited that hour and fifteen minutes. Then another fifteen. At 7:17pm, we called to check on the pizza; this turned out to be surprisingly difficult, as it took eight calls in order to get through to anyone to ask (the system politely informed us that their voice mailbox had not been set up). At 7:27pm, we finally managed to get through to someone, and they politely informed us that the driver had left ten minutes prior. At 7:59pm the driver called to ask where the apartment complex was - this apartment complex is very new and isn't always showing up on maps properly yet, so needing to ask for that is reasonable. The pizza finally arrived at 8:15pm, though as mentioned, it was pretty much cold (room temperature, again, is not the desired temperature for pizza, in my opinion). In the future, if we decide to eat this pizza again, I think it'll be necessary to actually go for carry-out rather than delivery, but if we're wanting pizza delivered, we'll definitely NOT be ordering from here again. All in all (TL;DR:), we waited two and a half hours to receive a pizza that was no longer even warm. Boo :(.

Hello Borrielo Brothers!, When I was in high school I spent many of my lunch periods frequenting your downtown location on Platte, and with good cause! My meal of choice was a calzone with pepperoni and jalapenos with extra helpings of your (out of this world) sauce. I'd never had a fried calzone before, and to be sure it was something that really stuck with me. Fast forward 12 years and you have before you a loyal, 29 year old customer who hasn't had your pizza in several years. One of the few reasons I looked forward to spending any length of time here was the fact that once in a while I'd be able to once again enjoy one of my favorite restaurants, unfortunately a lot more has changed than my age. I ordered from your Barnes Road store twice in the last couple months, and overall my experiences have been lackluster to say the least. Not only that, but the second time I was disappointed I attempted to reconcile my issue with the order on my own. For my efforts I was granted a 'credit' on my account which could be used to replace the order at a later date. The first time my food arrived I'd ordered a brothers' fried calzone, 16 boneless wings and a slice of chocolate cake which cost me $30.00 before delivery. I don't mind paying 30% more for a superior product though, so I went ahead and rolled with it. Problem was that the calzone was raw on the inside, meaning that the cheese was not shredded and to boot had hardly any pepperoni. The boneless wings were cold, not warm...but cold. So how about round 2? Well, things were horrendous (not a word I use lightly mind you), from the get go the manager questioned whether or not I had actually received store credit. He notified me that my account would be flagged for any further credits in the future due to one of his employees not taking note of the fact that I would be receiving a replacement order in the future. I spent 3-4 minutes on the phone with him about this issue, despite the fact that my order was still in the system. I went ahead and paid for the delivery fee so that I could make sure to tip the delivery driver, because honestly it wasn't his/her fault. But wait, the fun is not over yet! After having more or less accused me of lying about being comped for the horrendous food I'd received before I was (once again) sent an even worse order. The calzone was extremely small, had hardly any toppings, and to top it all off was soggy. The cake was fine, but of course that was purchased from the Cheesecake Factory, so I don't see how that could be an issue. The wings? Well the wings were so god-awful that they get their very own paragraph for me to discuss them. You see I decided (wrongly) that if I ordered regular, bone in wings that they would taste better. Nope, these wings looked like they'd been bought from Wal Mart and been microwaved right out of a Tyson Hot Wing bag for my dining (displeasure). They were digusting, absolutely, horrendous and I can say with all due honesty that I could have cooked these paltry things myself and had a better experience. They didn't even have sauce on them after they were cooked! I ate a couple of them in disbelief...and was completely floored that anyone (let alone a manager I'd just talked to) would serve me this sort of slop. I really, really want to believe that all of this was an accident and that this is not indicative of the new Borriello Brothers restaurant experience...but this needs to be made right. I do not ever want to speak to the manager on Barnes Road again, but I do want this order to be made correctly...with food that is actually worth the $30.00 I paid for it. I'd really appreciate hearing back from someone about this issue as soon as possible. I have faith that you can do better, but I have no faith in the manager or the employees at this location.

Local pizza shop with a NY style pizza and environment. Loads of specialty pizzas and topping options and they deliver Be sure to look down at the soda machine for some special drink recipes

This is the first time we went to this location. The person helping us at the counter was really knowledgable about the menu and specials (and the Groupon we got to use). You order at the counter and then sit down and they bring you the food. Our disappointment was that we ordered a salad and garlic knots and they came out after our pizza, and after a very long wait. Our pizza was pretty tasty (we got the Clemente with all the meat on it- the sausage was thinly sliced and very spicy) but it was a little undercooked and doughy. We prefer the thinner crust and will get that in the future. They seemed very busy with carryout orders so maybe the timing on our order got messed up a little. We'll come back again because we like the location but if the service timing is the same then we'll probably not return.

I'm pretty sure I had eaten Borriello Brothers once or twice when I lived in Colorado Springs a few years ago, but I was in town visiting and my friends had us over for pizza. They got a couple of large pepperoni pizzas from Borriello Brothers. I quite enjoyed it. The crust was thin NY style and it tasted good. Wanted to keep eating more of it!
(4)Kevin K.
Overall I'd say that Borriello brothers puts out a solid pizza and there are many times when I crave only this pizza. The pizza is very consistent many times I have ordered it. The cannolis are very good as well. Service is usually decent though yesterday I was told 30 minutes and when I showed up it took an extra 10 minutes before the pizza was ready.
(4)Stephen H.
Took my family there. Had some groupons so we figured it would be acceptable and any level of quality. We were super suprised at how good the pizza, ravioli (my favorite of the trip) and everything else was. The waitstaff were friendly and trend out to be one of the gems on our family vacation. You know it is good when you get back home and everyone is like,"I wish they had a Borriello's here!" Try it, you will not be disappointed.
(5)Andrea C.
Told us the wait would be 30 minutes and it ended up being an hour because they burnt our first pizza but never bothered to tell us. Won't be returning.
(1)Mike H.
Worst crust ever, cheap toppings have these people ever been to NY if not don't say you have NY pizza because this pizza makes Papa Murphys take & bake grossness seem great I will never eat this crap again.
(1)Renee C.
Still the best pizza in town. In my opinion, the sauce is the most important part of a pizza. Borriello's has the most amazing sauce. It's always perfect!
(5)Kevin W.
I don't have time for nonsense. I was placed on hold for 10 min, and the employee never returned. Hung up and called back, still no response. Went to Blackjack pizza and it was ready in 10 min.
(1)Mila G.
Gluten free dough is pretty good, I asked for no cheese and they left cheese on it. Regular pizza was mediocre. Kinda sad, since we have eaten here before and it was good.

Whoa, am I going to the same place everybody else is? So, this review is only for carry out. We've ordered online once and ordered over the phone once (both for pick up) and in both cases the pizza was cooked on time and as ordered. The service has been friendly and efficient in our experience. Both times our pie cost $11 for a one topping 18in pizza. Borriello Brothers is the best pizza in colorado springs. The toppings are adequate (the sausage is exceptional, as it is not the regular turd sausage, but shaved, which I realy like), the dough is the right amount of thickness and the crust has an ever-so-slight sweet tang, which plays off of the acidity in the tomato sauce. Granted, I'm not a New Yorker who moves to Colorado expecting a Bleeker's carbon copy, but as a pizza lover, BB leaves the competition in the dust, if not for the quality pie, then at least for the fact that it's different and variety is the spice of life, or so i've heard.
(4)Mariah C.
This was an instance where I wish Yelp would allow a partial star. I would probably give them a 3.5. In most cities, to be honest, Boriello Bros. wouldn't get high ranks-- but in Colorado Springs, where good pizza is hard to find (cut me some slack...I'm from Chicago, where good pizza is the rule, not the exception), it's probably some of the best I've come across. The pizza is thin and New York style, and greasy in a way that's perfect with beer and football and frat parties. I've only had takeout, so can't comment on the dine-in experience-- although the few times I've gone in to pick it up, I haven't been blown away by the ambience.
(3)Spencer G.
The pizza is great and the cannolis are good.....None of the sides or other desserts are good......Also it takes FOREVER for delivery and ordering pick-up is never on time.....But the pizza truly is amazing.
(3)Tre M.
Ordered a pizza at 4:51 pm and it took almost 90 minutes for it to arrive. I called at the 60 minute mark and they told me the order went out and should be within the next 10 minutes or so. Well it took nearly an additional 30 minutes for the driver to arrive. The pizza was cold and when I called back to complain all they could offer was to re deliver at no additional charge but it would take at least 80 minutes. No thanks. This was the place on Barnes. Never again will I order there again.
(1)Ron S.
Still on my eternal quest to find good New York style pizza in Colorado, I gave Borriello Brothers a shot. ...can I call Pizza Milquetoast? If so, Borriello Bros is. I don't understand the hype. I really try hard not to be a "snob" about food. I just like good food, and it's really that simple. I'd been told that Borriellos is an amazing pizza joint, and I gave it a try. It's was just ok. Worth going once, but that's about it. I'll keep looking.
(2)RicoSha C.
Nothing like the original Borriello Brothers, The Big Ragu, The Grandma Marie, The garlic knots were killer!! This place use to be our favorite pizza joint in the springs but not any longer, over the last year the quality of their food has really gone downhill. The last two times we have ordered a pizza, it was so soggy that we had to cover it in paper towels to remove the grease before we could eat it. I am sorry, it just doesn't taste as good as it used to. The service was so Slooowww.... Usually you call ahead and go pick up in 40 minutes... Not the case, it took over an hour. Don't get me wrong, we really don't mind waiting for good Pizza. The Barnes Location is an insult to the rest of the chain. We are not going here anymore. We can no longer recommend.

OMG .... Is this my first 1 star review? .... Can anything be this bad? .... I find myself comparing Borriello Brothers (Barnes Rd location) to Dominos' and Pizza Hut ... And wishing I had ordered from Dominos' or Pizza Hut ... It was that bad .... We chose carry-out ... They offer dine-in and delivery also .... We ordered 1 appetizer, 3 entries, 1 side dish, and 3 desserts .... With tax, your looking at about $60 .... We ordered on-line, which was fairly easy and uncomplicated ... Was ready to be picked up in 30 minutes .. Not bad .... the food was warm to the touch when picked up, and stone cold by the time we got home ... (2miles driving distance) ... The order was not entirely correct as one of the heros was missing an extra side ... Doesn't seem like a big deal, but they charged like .50 for that and then not to include it? ... The appetizer sampler included some garlic knots, fried ravioli, boneless wings, and sausage link ... To summarize, the whole thing was bland ... I.e. tasteless ... Specifically, the garlic knots were nasty .... If I had to pick the best of the bunch, it would be the wings ... The sweet chili flavor was different and kind of 'not nasty' ... How could the entire platter of Italian food be bland and tasteless you say? .... I know! .... The entries included 2 heros and a personal pizza ... Pepperoni pizza ... Or at least it was supposed to be .... We did find some Pepperoni meat product under the processed cheeses clumps .... Seriously, there were 6 slices on the thing .... You can order 'extra' product I suppose ... And you will be charged for it .... The heros ... Basically a chicken sandwich and philly cheese steak with New York gangster themed names were nothing special .... At the risk of sounding repetitive; tasteless, bland, and soggy ... A sub from Charley's or (god forbid) Quiznos would have done you better .... The bun seemed stale and I wouldn't have been able to guess the type of cheese to save my life .... Like it was some type of cheese product and not real dairy .... To leave on a good note .... The desserts were EXCELLENT ... But then they were contracted from the Cheesecake Factory ... Go figure .... All-in-all this was a complete wast of money .... The first time I've ever wanted to pack, puke, or crap everything back into the bag and return it for a refund .... Seriously .... Again, this review was for the Barnes Rd location ... And it was carry-out ... Your experience with a different Borriello Brothers location and/or dining-in, may vary .... Godspeed .... [edit] ... Ok ... I thought about it a bit and said to myself "does this place really deserve a 1 star rating? .... A 1 star rating should equate to something really, really bad like food poisoning .... Or maybe an armed robbery halfway through your meal; and you were robbed of your watch, wallet, and date .... Well, as you can see i haven't changed my rating .... Restaurants in Colorado Springs are plentiful .... Return business will make or break you .... I won't be returning .... There are two other pizza joints within a block of this place .....

Best New York style pizza in the Springs!
(4)Brennan P.
If I could possibly rate them lower, believe me, I would. You know, for New York style pizza, they used to be alright. They also used to have tolerable prices. But, I made the mistake of listening to my loving wife and ordered 2 pizzas from them last night. A cheese and their Chicken Hot Wing pizza. Just the Chicken one was $20 alone!!!!! And believe me when I say that it wasn't worth it... It was thinner than paper. Barely any toppings and the crust was so dense that I had to take a break because my jaw was tired. It was ridiculous. They charge $14 for just a cheese pizza!!!!! Come on!!!!!! Then to top it off, gouge me with a $2.50 for delivery? Man..... I wish I could roll back time and make a better decision. DO NOT ORDER HERE!!!! Go with Blackjack Pizza. They have changed so dramatically that I am amazed. Great flavor, super prices, and I always have plenty of leftovers. We had none with Borriello's paper thin pizza.
(1)Justin S.
This is the worst of the Borriello Brothers in town. The quality of the food here is so far below par it is laughable. Every pizza i have had from here has been soggy and never tastes right. At first I thought Borriello Brothers just made bad pizza until I tried the downtown location. Then realized it was just this location. If you want a good slice or while pizza go somewhere else.
(1)Cliff L.
One of the most overrated pizzas ever. Delivery time is always slow. Overpriced too
(2)Zaena F.
This is good NY pizza, yes I have been there and tasted the yumminess of true NY pizza and Borriellos Bros. is the stuff. Although some people have complained about the wait, I do not think that I usually have to wait that long.
(4)Michelle K.
So sad, I have to find a new Pizzeria. We ordered a pie today and everyone took one bite and agreed that something was very wrong. The dough was dry and there was not enough tomato sauce or cheese on the pizza. Really disappointed. We spoke to the manager and were told that they measure all their ingredients each time so it's always the same. In addition, since all the correct toppings were on the pie I was told that there was nothing they can do about it. Really?! I was hoping they'd offer us a credit or something...anything. I was also secretly hoping that they had just hired some new people and were training, any excuse to wish this was a one time oopsie but no, I was told it's all the same people making the pies. I will not be going back there again or recommending them to anyone else. I didn't mind paying 20 bucks for a pie in the past but you couldn't get me to eat this pie we got tonight if you paid me. It was definitely not NY style pizza they made for us. I've never had a slice like that in the 30 years that I've lived in NY.
(1)Ethan C.
Good NY style pizza. Kinda slow, but worth the wait. They should change the interior to be more "comfortable" (Like Leon Gessi Pizza on Palmer Park/ Union). Good pizza. Garlic knots are ok, but not worth it really. Salad is plain. But come on, you came for the Pizza anyway!! Hot fresh and good. Too bad there is no beer served or it would get a higher rating. The place needs more "neighborhood" type of a feeling to it and it would do better. Within a mile is another NY style pizza place (NYPD Pizza) and Louises is right across the street.
(4)Grant W.
Looking for a great slice of authentic NY style pizza, look no further! This is a direct competitor to NYPD Pizza, they also seem to have the same daily type specials.
(4)Angela G.
I love love love this pizza. Soooo good. It can take a while to get your pizza so the best way to solve that is to call it in and then drive up there to get it. Staff is always nice. It is a little pricey so try to get a friend to go in with you for the 2 for 20 deal!
(5)martin k.
Good pizza.... Keep in mind that it takes 30-45 min for pick-up and 60++min for delivery.
(3)Kima W.
This is the best pizza you are going to find in the Springs. It takes awhile to get your food, but well worth the wait! This is as close as you're gonna get to an NY expierence in CO :)
(4)M S.
Absolutely one of the best NY style pizza joints here in the Springs.... I usually get the 5 Boroughs pizza.... Kinda like a good comfort food... :) Little pricey, but you definitely get a quality product.!
(5)Rheannon M.
I've had Borriello Bros pizza delivered and I've gone to pick it up, but I've never 'dined-in' so that does not factor into my review. This pizza is absolutely delicious. It's NY style so thinner with big, foldable pieces. Unlike other pizza places where we go for combo and mult-ingredient type pizzas, you can order a cheese pizza at Borriello brothers and it's delightful. We usually go for the pepperoni, but the meatball (thin slices of savory meatballs) is good too. The fried raviolis are also very fun if you want a little extra something to share. Right now, they have a deal where you can get two large pizzas for ~$20. That's an insane deal for the quality (and quantity) of pizza. Calling in to the Barnes location (near Powers) it's usually 20-40 minutes for pickup and 40-60 minutes for delivery.
(4)Adrienn H.
Borriello's isn't not my first choice for pizza in the Springs, but it is pretty good pizza. The pizzas are really enormous, so you might not want to order a large for yourself, and if you do you probably shouldn't tell anyone. The food is good but it's a little over priced for pizza and greasier than I usually like, but hey everyone has their own opinion on pizza so I say try it for yourself and see if you agree.
