I had the calamari for an appetizer and it was likely one of the best calamari dishes I have ever eaten - it was THAT good. I followed that with the sea bass which was delicious but I would have like just a tad more flavor; it was cooked perfectly. I had it served with the spinach risotto and that was the only part of the dish I though was just okay, not spectacular. But it didn't bring down the rest of the meal. I finished with a crème brulee that I thought was also very good. It's difficult to screw up this dessert and also hard to make it more than it is. But it was a nice compliment to the rest of the meal. My server was attentive and friendly; I wanted for nothing. Also, although I didn't taste it my companion claimed the seafood pasta to be outstanding. I'm not from the area but I visit quite often and the next time I do I'll stop in here again.

An easy review. 5 stars. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Delivery of food was prompt. Decor was acceptable for the price. Menu offered a lot of variety and some unique were offered. Do yourself a favor. Dine here as soon as possible.

This place is awesome... Every single time! They are great with kids and equally great for date night. They do take out really well too. The staff is consistent, kind & knowledgable. I was wary to try suburban strip mall Italian when we moved here, but it's been several years now and we've never been disappointed. For entrees I love the fig and prosciutto pizza & the rigatoni. The salads are always wonderful and fresh and the bread dipping sauce is my favorite. My husband favors the sausage and peppers or half chicken... We've been here so many times and taken friends and family from out of town multiple times and I have yet to hear a negative word. We love having Farro so close!

First time at this place and it was great! Wait staff was amazing, patient and helpful with our questions and made great recommendations based on what we wanted rather than what they were supposed to be selling that night. Will need to come back another time and try other dishes!

Fine but not great. Our service was good, and the place was busy. Food was ok, but nothing special. I had the cod, hubby had linguine w clams. We also had calamari.

If you make a reservation show up early. Popular place so walking in may wait Friday Saturday crowds! This restaurant is versitle. I like the choice to either do a date night, a daddy daughter dinner, a family dinner or a nice Italian meal. They have the best gf pasta I've had and you can put it on any sauce. The food is fresh. The service is caring (not the most organized but hey its still great!) This is a family restaurant I enjoy supporting. The seafood dish ciopino (sp) is awesome. The GF strosizpretti. (sp again) is awesome. For Italian in South Denver or Denver for that matter I liked it.

We joined some friends for dinner who frequent this restaurant often and we really enjoyed it as well. My husband and I shared the House salad which our server split for us, which is always appreciated. The greens were chilled, fresh and dressed with a delicious vinegarette and homemade croutons. My husband ordered his favorite dish-linguine with clam sauce and he loved it albeit a bit too much garlic for my taste. He ate it all! I ordered the pasta dish called Strozzapreti which was in a creamy sauce with a generous portion of chicken breast, prosciutto, homemade tagliatelle pasta and peas. The sweet peas balance out the saltiness of the prosciutto. It was fabulous and the leftovers were even better today for lunch. They serve an herbed flatbread and Italian bread with a delicious red pepper relish. I wish we would have had room for dessert, but decided against it. Heard the tiramisu is good. The service was excellent (Chris) and the owner/Chef, Matthew, made us feel welcome at the front door. He checked in to make sure we liked our dishes. We will definitely return when in the area. One salad, 2 entrees I beer and 1 iced tea came to about $48 without tip. Would def recommend this restaurant!

Near perfect dining experience here, walking into this place was a treat in itself, smelling fresh bread and everything else they had cooking. My cod special was amazing, slightly crispy yet perfectly cooked. We were all eating off each other's plates 5 minutes into the meal. Service was fantastic, our waiter seemed quite happy doing his job... I assume he enjoys it because he deals with happy people all day. Pizza was rustic, hand-made looking and delicious. Pasta cooked perfectly. All temps and textures were spot-on. I will be going back next time I am in the area.

We loved this place for our sons rehearsal dinner! We had a party of 30+. Making arrangements were simple and the staff was always staying in touch with us. Matthew and staff met our needs and then some! Dayton and the other men were attentive to each persons needs the entire evening. We never felt pressured or unattended to ! Such class gentlemen! And did I say the Food was superb! This 4-course meal met and exceeded our hearts desire. All guest thoroughly enjoyed their evening.I couldn't think of a better place to have held our event. Thank you all!!

The bread they bring with drinks comes with a salsa-like dipping dish that is very tasty. I ordered the meatloaf that came with gravy and garlic mashed potatoes and was excellent! The rest of my family enjoyed their food but didn't think it was anything to rave about.

My wife and I stumbled in to Farro restaurant on Sunday night for a late dinner. We were not expecting much from the strip mall location but the inside was decorated very well with a professional bar to the right, a dining room to the left, and booths in the middle. To save your back, it might be wise to sit at a table and not at a booth. Drinks - the wine list was not extensive but both of our red selections were excellent. I saw the bar tender pour a lot of glasses so I expect the other selections on the wine menu are similarly well balanced. We started with the calamari based on the Yelp reviews. It did not disappoint. The dish was well-portioned for $10 and was almost Asian-flavored. It is worth trying at least once. Alongside the calamari were two types of bread, with the skinny seasoned type being the best. My wife ordered the half chicken. She absolutely loved it and said it rivaled our favorite from OBL. I ordered the meatball pizza. Luckily, our server told me it was an olive oil based pizza so I asked for the chef to add a tomato base. It was delicious but not as good as our other preferred options in PHX and DEN. The chocolate moose was to die for. An absolute "must order" to end the night! We are looking forward to our return. One star off for the back pain after sitting in the booth as well as it generally not being a 5 * kind of place. Still, it was a wonderful option, especially for the suburbs.

We had 6 people in our party tonight and everyone loved everything that they had. The service tonight was also as good as the food. My only complaint was that the delicious creme brulee we had tonight was a special, and will not be on the menu every day! We will definitely be back!
My friends and I stopped here on a whim. Actually, we called around to see which restaurant had the best wait time and this place did not have a wait time at all. Ok, so we were a little skeptical. After all it was a Friday night and you're telling me this place isn't crowded? Hmmm... To me, this is a true hidden gem. The decor was ok, I'm not here to judge. We were not on a date night lol, just casually hanging out. We were immediately greeted and seated and given a menu. My, what an extensive menu! We did not know what to choose! Our waiter soon came by and gave us some suggestions. Speaking of the waiter, he was very friendly as well as the whole staff. Kudos to them! Food: I ordered the beef carpaccio (I love this stuff, and yes I know it's raw.) The beef carpaccio was tasty, though nothing to really write home about, and I don't mean that in a negative way, it's just that it was fine. I also ordered the sauteed sea bass and that, ladies and gentlemen, is something to write home to mom about. The taste was simply amazing and it paired well with everything it was served with. The sauce was delicious. My friends loved their dishes too. The portion sizes are great. Not too small and not too big either, just enough for you to get full. We could not even eat desert because we were full from what we were served. I'm glad the cheesecake factory had a long wait time, otherwise we wouldn't have tried this place out. I will definitely be back!

Great food and not too pricey. Service is good. Try the specials. I had the Trout special and the roasted veggies were fantastic. Wife had Sea Bass and it was also good. My son had the veal and it was slightly salty. Overall a good experience.

Really delicious neighborhood restaurant! It's in a little strip mall next to a king soopers. It took us forever to try it, and we've been 3 times now. Love their flat bread and dipping oil/relish. Everything we've ordered has been amazing. The pork loin and stroprezzeti are my favs. Once we had a pear &marscapone ravioli that was a special. I'm still dreaming about it! Great Italian!!

We've just waited 20 mins. to order and had to flag someone down. (It was another 10 mins. before someone came to take our order - with no apology for taking so long.) They offered nothing as compensation and charged us for every single entree ordered. We don't expect to be served excellent food quickly but it took quite awhile for the food to be served as well. We had a party of 8 and the main room was not very busy. We were seated in a room off to the side and forgotten numerous times over. While the food is good, it's not worth it to wait 30 mins. to order and then wait again for food.

I quite enjoy this place. The menu is a little different from your usual italian joint but still leave you with plenty of Italian classics :) The calamari here is actually thai/asian style and is very nicely prepared. I've had the tuscan meatloaf here as well and it was delicious. Make sure you get the three cheese polenta as a side and you will not be sorry, unless of course you're longing for a dried out, cut blocks of playdough that you get from oh so many restaurants ;) in that case you will be much offended by this creamy delicious goodness.

Every time we eat at Farro we have a wonderful experience. The food is exceptional, the ambiance casual but professional and welcoming and the service extra good. We love the specials (this week we tried lamb chops and a fish special) and my personal favourite, the small pizza with fig jam and arugula. Love this place. It just gets better.

I've lived in Italy, when it comes to Italian food, I'm a snob. Farro's is the FIRST Italian restaurant that I have LOVED. Last night we had the Calamari (THE BEST I've EVER had!), The pizza with Gorgonzola cheese, prosciutto, and fig (OMG!), and the spinach salad. Talk about amazing. We topped it off with great coffee, hubby had the Drunken Chocolate Mousse, I had the Four Bite Passion Fruit Panna Cotta with a Mixed Berry Compote All I can say is WOW WOW WOW! WE WILL BE BACK!
(5)
Chris S.
This was the second time that I've eaten at Farro's and each time I've been left with an 'Eh, I've had better' impression (hence the two stars). The 'Sizzing Garlic Shrimp' is delicious, but at 10 dollars for four medium sized shrimp, it's a little overpriced. However, the garlic oil that is left over is great for dipping your bread into. The calamari was probably the best thing I had there, it was lightly fried and tender. For my main dish, I ordered the lasagna. It wasn't bad, but nothing to write home about. I think the seafood dishes might be better as my mother and sister got them and both said they were 'absolutely delicious'. Service was okay - nothing bad but nothing great either.

I went to this restaurant 3 times during a business trip and each time was a great dining experience. The first two times I got the Sea Bass that was pan seared on top of fresh spinach and instead of potatoes, ask for a side of pasta with tomato + basil sauce. The Sea Bass has a light lemon sauce and did not take away the flavor from the fish nor the spinach... Excellent! The pasta is a must, freshly made with real sauce (not out of the jar). I had that twice! The third time, I decided to get the half chicken and it was the best chicken dish I ever had. They somehow bone (or de-boned to some) a half chicken in one piece and baked it... It takes a little longer to make but it is worth the wait. It came with a light gravy sauce with fresh garlic cloves, string beans and olives. Very moist chicken! I had one of their passion fruit dessert and was what a dessert should be... small and to cleanse your palate! Have a glass (or two) of vino and enjoy!

A wonderful, unique menu that is prepared perfectly. We found this by accident, but will be going back, purposefully, many more times. The staff is incredible, working hard with a love of customer service. The owner/chef splits time between the kitchen and helping the staff in the dining room, even filling water. I highly recommend the spinach salad, angel hair pasta with roma tomatoes and the apple bread pudding desert. All were amazing. If they have a lamb chop special, order it. This was one of the best lamb chops I have ever had.

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a food snob. To eat at an Olive Garden or a Macaroni Grill is admitting defeat. Even if I'm out in the suburbs I'm going to try to find something local and unique. So in our evening of suburban splendor we chose the strip mall restaurant of Farro. I dearly hope this is the last time I utter these words: "I would have rather gone to Olive Garden." The food here was overpriced and uninspired. My husband got their duck sausage pizza and it was not at all tasty. My chicken marsala was soupy and I could taste freezer burn on the green beans. The farro salad was okay, but I didn't feel compelled to finish it. Our companion ordered a caprese salad. It was August - the height of tomato season, and his tomatoes came out mealy, pale and very sad looking. The service was dismal and the atmosphere really depressing. I was bummed that ll the recent good review on Yelp had steered us so very wrong this time. I won't give up on the suburbs though! There are other great strip mall Italian joints out there! Cafe Jordano is still an old favorite!

Dads birthday. He chose this as they had room for 10 on a Saturday night. They know him there and that is another reason he likes this place. The bread was good but maybe too good or was it because it took awhile to get our main meals. I had the fish special but wished I would have gone with the Bass. I had a taste and it really was better than mine. My guys had pasta with seafood and really seemed to enjoy the dishes they ordered. The appetizers were good. We brought our own cupcakes but the restaurant gave us a few dishes of ice cream. Not bad but I would only go back if my dad wanted to eat there.

Ordered food for take out and was told it would be 15 minutes. The place wasn't too busy. I arrived about 35 minutes after placing the order and found out it wasn't put in (she didn't admit it though). Had to wait an addition 30+ minutes for my food. Offered me coupons to come back, but I had already paid and wasn't sure coming back would be in the plans. No free dessert offer or anything. Offered a glass of wine about five minutes before the food came out (so I sat there almost the entire time without being offered it). The food was pretty good but I was super disappointed in how the situation was handled.

We had heard really good things about this place and finally had the chance to try it. It was great! And frankly might be the best overall experience we've had here in the burbs when you consider quality of food, quality of service, value, etc. Overall the staff is young, sometimes not the best sign. But from the host to our server everyone there was top notch and professional and pleasant. We were a little nervous because we'd heard it's a 'nice' place and we had two small children in tow (4.5 years, and 6 months) - sometimes when we show up to a restaurant we will see guests and servers get chilly because of the kids. That was not at all the case with Farro. Plenty of smiles from everyone there and they treated our little boy wonderfully. (It helped that he was a doll as well.) I went with the basic angel hair pasta and the Farro salad. Both were terrific and very light. Decor is nice for a strip mall, though could be better. (Professional hazard, you may dismiss because I'm picky about interiors.) All in all we loved it and will be back!

Food: Tried the calamari as other reviewers recommended; it was ok. I've had better and worse. Ordered the seafood pasta. It came with mussels, scallops, shrimp and clams. More tiny scallops than anything. This dish was $17.00. For that cost I would have hoped for a little more seafood other than scallops! The flavor was pretty good though. My daughter got the drunken mousse desert; it was okay. Service: Forget it. The guy was lucky he even got a tip. My bf pointed to the item we wanted as he was telling the server and my teen daughter ordered desert since she wasn't really hungry. Right after we ordered a party of 17 came in and "poof" our server was gone. Our order came out wrong. What was first brought to our table was a bowl of pasta with those small shrimp and my daughter, nothing. We sat there for about 10-15 minutes waiting for the server to come by so we could tell him what we got was not what we ordered and my daughter never received her desert. I waived to him and he appeared to nod as if to say hold on, but never came back. I finally waived down another server and told her of the problem. She got him and he came to our table. We explained the problem and he apologized. He boxed up the wrong order and my bf took it home, no charge. We finally got our order. The bill finally came and my bf put the money in the black book. We sat there for sometime waiting for him to come by and take it since we needed change back. This never happened so I told my bf to open the black book so this guy could see the cash. After about 10 minutes of him walking by us multiple times he again had to be waived down. Then he apparently couldn't figure out how much CHANGE to bring back and instead brought back the same amount of cash just broken down into smaller bills! So, we won't be back. This place isn't that close to where we live, about 20 - 25 minutes away, and with the quality of service and the food being just "okay" we'll pass on this one.

We love this restaurant. It's difficult to find good restaurants in the suburbs but Farro is consistently good. The service is great as well. The pizza is the best I've had in Denver. If they have a ravioli special make sure to order it. My only complaint is that they don't always have their amazing ravioli. Wine list is good and the kids options are good for both picky and adventurous kids. The best option we've found in South Denver suburbs.

You know that feeling when you step outside and smell some good cooking?! That is exactly what it was like at Farro. I walk in the door and can smell fresh bread cooking, or maybe it was a Wood-Oven Pizza, either way it smelled freaking amazing!! I was sat immediately, and after a little bit my server got my drink order and I had bread and oil. The bread was so good, I wish I could have sneaked it in my doggie bag. After reading Shane M.'s yelp reviews about the Farro salad, I decided to give it a try. Everyone is right, it was to notch, fresh cheese and lettuce, and lots of cucumbers and onions. And they even offered me fresh ground pepper! Then I continued mimicking Shane's dinner and also had the basic angel hair pasta. Amazing! And a huge portion, so I get to experience this dinner all over again tomorrow at lunch...got to love to go boxes! I wish they would have offered some fresh grated parmesan cheese, but maybe I am just getting greedy. As I am writing this review, I am starting to salivate just reliving this awesome experience. I will definitely be back!

My husband and I just moved to Centennial from Omaha and have been looking for local joints to replace our old ones. After reading the reviews on Open Table, we got very excited about Farro and dashed over to give it a try. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. There were things I really appreciated about this restaurant. They offer half carafes of wine for a very reasonable price. Also, our waitress was a total blast. When it came time to order, my husband chose lasagna and I went with the chicken parmesan. I loved that the noodles were made on site. Also, the noodles were cooked perfectly al dente. However, neither of us were impressed by the sauce. I would liken it to Chef Boyardee. Also, my chicken was reminiscent of a dish served at Fazoli's, only double the price. Overall we were pretty disappointed. We opted for desert. I got the Nutella mud pie and my husband got the tiramisu. I was impressed by my desert. My husband thought the tiramisu was okay, although he honestly prefers the Olive Garden! Overall, I'd really like to give this place a higher rating, as the staff and executive chef were so kind. Unfortunately, it just didn't meet my expectations. I don't think we'll be returning.

We have driven by Farro for a few years and only recently gave it a try. We had assumed that it was just a strip mall Italian joint (read: red sauce and meatballs), but there are number of dishes that really set them apart from some of the neighboring Italian eateries. My wife and I ordered appetizers of fried calamari and the beef carpaccio. The calamari was crispy and had a flavorful glaze. The carpaccio was good as well, though it lacked contrast (maybe one missing accent ingredient). We were most impressed by the Seafood Farro, which is a twist on cioppino. I say "twist" because it had jalapenos in the broth--not an overpowering amount, but enough to give the dish a little pizazz. Any time a seafood stew has white fish, we worry that it will be overcooked. Not the case here: the fish was cooked to perfection. Granted, everyone's favorite Italian-American dishes are still on the menu. A lot of people seem to order them and they looked pretty good, but this is a good place to be a little more adventurous and venture out of the red sauce into something new. You won't be sorry.
(3)
Steve W.
The Flash Fried Calamari with Salsa Rossa was unusual and delicious. I had the Seafood Farro which had a nice selection of fish. The white fish was very tender for being in a broth. The Jalapenos were a nice addition to the dish. My companion had the Sizzling Garlic Shrimp ordered as an entree. The shrimp were properly cook with a great flavor. The bread was as good as it gets and was accompanied by a not over-powering garlic oil olive for dipping. The service overall was quite good, and the chef/owner was serving and checking on the customers. The only negative comments are that the wine was served in a very small glass with a heavy rim, and the service might have been a bit rushed . Make sure to ask for a proper glass when ordering wine.

This is my first review on Yelp. And I could think of no place better to get it than this quaint Italian restaurant. I took my mom in there while she was visiting in town a couple of weeks ago based on yelp reviews. OMG! Everything we tried was delicious! The Farro salad's dressing was so good I had to ask the chef if he would sell me some to take home to my boyfriend! I can't remember what my pasta was called, but it had sauteed arugula and some of the freshest most amazing homemade sausage I have ever tried. My only complaint is that after all this crazy good food, I didn't have room for dessert. Maybe I will start out that way when I go back tonight...

The service here was so genuinely like home, I didn't want to leave. Seriously. Personal, home style, and FAST. Oh, I'll be coming back here very soon. With food this good, I have to.

I live within walking distance of this restaurant. I tried it for the first time three weeks ago and again last week. I knock one star off for the service because the waitress doesn't know the difference between Chianti's. But hey, she was a college kid. The food is a tad below great. Its all fresh, except for the pasta which is not made fresh but is served al dente. The seafood is probably no more than two days old. If your from NY or CHI town this will rate much lower than you expect. But, for Colorado, this is a real good choice. A very nice neighborhood restaurant.

The food here is far from good. While some dishes like the beef carpaccio and the swordfish special were tasty, the others really fell short of my expectations. The biggest problem I had on the food side at this place was my main dish, the cannelloni. The veal meat on the inside tasted no better than store-bought ground beef, but the real problem was the tomato sauce. I think the tomato sauce on that dish had about as much flavor as the sauce in Spaghetti O's -- it was embarassingly bad. It was a nice touch that the waiter comp'd me a dessert because of the poor quality of my entree. I ordered the Nutella mud pie, but I couldn't taste the faintest hint of Nutella or hazelnuts, so this dish fell far short of my expectations, too. I wanted to give this place a higher rating because they tried to have really good service, but I think we had to wait for our check to come for nearly 25 minutes after asking for it. They also had some trouble taking the menus at appropriate times (we were eating with the menus on the table for much of the meal). It seems like this place is just starting up and might be able to work out a few kinks soon. For my experience, though, I probably wouldn't go back. Maybe I expected too much from a restaurant in an old strip-mall...

Oh Yelp, you steered me wrong on this one...I don't even know what to say. The service was rough from the start--I actually had to flag down the hostess to get her to find us a server. And it never really improved from there. My husband and I got the caprese salad to start with, which the menu indicated was served with "fresh" mozzarella. I'm sorry to say that I think it was fresh from Costco. And the tomatoes, which could have been purchased from one of the many farmer's markets but obviously weren't, were crunchy and pink, instead of juicy and red. I ordered the sausage and peppers, which was okay, but far from delicious. My husband ordered a pasta dish which he didn't finish and had no interest in bringing home (if you knew my husband, you'd know that this alone speaks volumes). I think the thing that was most offensive occurred when we ordered the "gelato" as an attempt to end on a positive note, it came out like no gelato I've ever tasted (from two trips to Italy or even a trip to the frozen section of Whole Foods). I'm 99% sure that this was just ice cream. Either that or it was freezer burnt beyond belief. Next time I'm looking to eat Italian in the burbs, I'll spend the extra 20 minutes to head into Denver.

We live nearby and went a few times when Farro first opened and did not return for over a year. We went back a few months ago and now we find ourselves going here more and more. They have really gotten it together and offer a nice evening out now. It is a great place to get a glass of wine and have a pleasant dinner. I love the wood-fired pizza's and my husband likes the half chicken. We both like the Farro Salad. We brought my mother here a few weeks ago and she absolutely loved it. We will all be returning.

There is nothing that I have had at this location that has ever been bad, or plain blaze'. The flavors are rich in detail and care. The chef loves what he is doing and you can taste it! Save room for desert, because it is worth it also! the prices are comparable for the quality you get.

A great chef owned restaurant. Wonderful food at reasonable prices. Beautiful inside, varied menu. Try the calamari or mussels or even the beef carpaccio to start. So many good choices. Many pastas and pizzas. The pork loin and the salmon are fantastic. Best polenta I've ever had. The wine list is varied and they have a nice bar. Service can be hit or miss, but has never been terrible. If Farro was closer to where I live, I'd be here every week!

Just moved to south suburbs of Denver and found this great italian restaurant. The service is good and accommodates my family and kids. Well priced and easy to get in and out of.

This was a real find! We were visiting the Centennial area and we were hungry. My son found the Farro Italian restaurant on Yelp, and we decided to give it a try. All four of us are really happy that we did. It is located in a rather small strip mall, and can be easily passed by. We were seated right away, and attended to by a very friendly host, busboy and waitress. The menu is very extensive and offers a range of foods from pizza to complete multi-course meals with paired wines. The waitress said that the portions were large so we decided to share two entrees with antipasti first. We ordered a liter of the house, Casarsa Pinot Grigio which was excellent. They brought us a bread basket (Italian loaf and flat bread) to be dipped in a mixture of garlic, vinegar and olive oil which was delicious. The antipasti had hard salami, smoked cheese, olives, pickled vegetables and very lean prosciutto all of which was wonderful. My son and I shared a rigatoni with Italian sausage in an olive oil based sauce. My wife and daughter-in-law shared an angel hair with tomatoes, garlic, basil and olive oil. Both dishes were delicious. To top it off, they gave us an amazing loaf of fresh bread to eat with the entree. My son had no problem lapping up every last drop of sauces with that bread. The experience was very pleasant, nice wine, excellent food and a very attentive staff.
Absolutely amazing! I went with my husband, two young boys, my parents and my grandma. It was so delicious. I got the sea bass and a side of polenta. We left feeling satisfied- not stuffed or hungry. The staff is wonderful and so accommodating! The owner and chef came out to check on us. Best Italian I've had in Colorado or maybe ever! Very reasonable prices for such amazing quality. I can't remember when I went to a restaurant as nice with as good of an overall experience!

Excellent. Simple and delicious. I had the angel hair pasta - Tomatoes. Delicious!! Antipasti was good and their olives are to die for.

A third visit in a month, and all of them have been equally good. Saturday night the place was packed, but, with only a bit slower service, the food was all excellent for our party of five. (This review was for 3/22/14, but never got completed.)

So glad we tried this place out. Great service... Denise is awesome! Delicious food... highly recommend garlic shrimp as a starter, salmon main course & mud pie for a sweet treat. What a great neighborhood, suburban gem. We will definitely go back sometime soon!

This was our first trip to Farro, and may I just say, WOW. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Upon entering, my fiance and I were immediately seated. At the time of our arrival, there were only two or three other tables of patrons in the restaurant. I was a little bit worried, if it is good, it should be full, right? But as we ate the place did fill up and the waitress informed us that reservations on the weekend are a good idea because there is often a wait. We placed our drink order and the wait staff brought us bread and dipping oil. The bread was good, but let me tell you, the crispy bread (sticks?) were to die for. For our appetizer we chose the antipasto plate which included a wonderful array of meats, cheese and pickled veg. Our main order came quickly after we finished our entrees. I had the sausage and peppers with polenta and my fiance had the lasagna. Both looked amazing. My fiance says that the lasagna sauce was good (really good, he amends) and that it wasn't too heavy.

Finally, a night where I can have dinner and enjoy it without constantly picking up my phone. I came to Farros when it first opened, it was simple restaurant with great food about seven years ago. After all these years, the atmosphere changed to more upscale with similar/same characteristics. I had the Lamb Chops with Cherry glaze, a salad and Carmel Apple Pudding with Whip for desert and two glass s of wine. Lamb a little under cooked but still delicious. Salad was good, not great for the price, but Carmel Apple Bread Pudding Whip was fantastico! Perfetto! The over all staff was polite kind and eager to help, but it seemed that every moment during my meal I was being interrupted by the hostess, waiter and bartender approaching me as if I was the only one there. My overall experience. 3.2 Stars. I'll be back again to try another time.

I love this place! My wife and I came here for dinner tonight, based on the good reviews here as well as on the fact that they offer a gluten-free rice pasta option. We were disappointed at first when we mentioned the rice pasta to our waiter, Dayton, and he told us that it wasn't rice anymore; they had changed to a corn pasta a month ago. The bad news for us is that my wife is allergic to both gluten and corn. No problem, though: Our server could tell us exactly which of the other main courses on the menu were gluten-free. My wife decided on grilled eggplant, and I had the sausage and peppers (which are gluten-free but not corn-free since they come with polenta). She loved her dish and I loved mine. When dessert time came around, they had lots of options: Panna cotta, gelato, berries, and a seasonal creme brulee special, which we went for. The dessert was fantastic! Oh, we had cocktails, too; delicious. Anyway, the food was great, but the careful, friendly service from Dayton is what made our visit to Farro so exceptional. I can't wait to go back with friends!

Food was very good. The service we received was average. We had a halibut special that was excellent. We stopped here last Thursday after reading the good yelp reviews. Our waitress wasn't as attentive or helpful as I would have expected. (She was smiling and having a good time with her co workers but wasn't as friendly with us) We will probably come back and give it another try. The chef came by asking how the dinner was which is always nice.

The food is authentic and full of flavor! It's no Cafe Jordano, but it's a close second for homemade Italian.

We ordered take-out from Farro. I ordered the gluten-free lasagna, which the hostess assured me they could make gluten free. We were told it would be ready in 20 minutes. We were at the restaurant to pick up the food and told it would be a little longer wait. 15 minutes later they called me (at this point it was 35 minutes later and I was sitting at the restaurant) to inform me that they couldn't make the lasagna gluten free. The women was rude and kept pressuring me to re-order because she had lots of phone calls to answer. When I asked what else was gluten free on the menu, she said she didn't know. I was disappointed that the staff was unfriendly, the hostess didn't know their menu and that it took 35 minutes for them to tell me that they couldn't make the dish gluten free when it was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes. We will not return.

Decided to venture here for valentines dinner because my boyfriend and I wanted to avoid the downtown crowd and parking. And as it turned out, that was a great decision and we didn't have to spend as much on an equally great dinner:) The outside didn't look very fancy but the inside was very cozy and homey. I liked how there was a soft lighting and I am glad they sat us at a booth. The crowded is on the older side and my boyfriend and I were probably the youngest guests there. The waiter was extremely happy and friendly. I loved his energy and perpetual smile. He even tried to photobomb my food pics haha! They gave us bread right away. There was your typical soft bread but also pita bread. The most unique part is the dipping sauce. It wasn't your average olive oil with garnish. This was some sour pickled vegetable in a sweet olive oil sauce. I really enjoyed it and I kept eating it because I was hungry which was prob a bad idea because our main courses took a while to get here and I was kinda full by then. The menu is slightly limited especially in the appetizer department but I decided to go with the calamari. I didn't really like the sauce but the crisp level was good. For main courses, I got the seafood spaghetti which turned out to be spicy! But I really liked it. My date got the rigatoni sausage. We imagined a red sauce a big sausage pieces but it was actually a soupy clear base and grounded sausage. It was a bit bland but nevertheless good. I also enjoyed the prosseco which came in a tiny bottle so cute. We were super full by the end and enjoyed our meal:)

3.5 Stars overall. Nice surprise. After reading some mixed reviews we took the family to Farro with an open mind. We had reservations and we were seated on time. Farro was busy tonight, so the service was a little slow, but we were anticipating that. The service was extremely kind, happy, and personable. The salads were made with very fresh ingredients. The baby spinach salad was especially good. The pasta was cooked nicely, with a good ratio of sauce to noodles. We did feel the fresh herbs were a little heavy in the sauce, but still enjoyable. I had one of the specials, braised lamb shank. It was cooked perfectly. Accompanied by some al dente fresh green beans and carrots, you simply can't serve a more well prepared lamb shank. I am a tough judge of food, and I tip my hat to the kitchen on this one. I thought the "my cost plus 25" wine selections were excellent. The wine by the glass choices were sufficient as well. Overall good family atmosphere, casual, welcoming, and the food is above average! We will be back to explore the menu further.

Impromptu Valentine's Dinner taking sears at the bar. Fabulous bartendar! Antipasto salad and fried calamari ROCKED. Rich cheeses and flavorful meats and olives. JUST ENOUGH crisp to be fried calamari but not heavy and either lots of spice. Would totally get it again. Very memorable. Ordered both appetizers at once but calamari came later - can see why and totally understood. Go for it and be patient. We split a pasta dish as one serving was more than enough. Took one star off as the GM went around visiting other patrons passing us by even after I headed to the ladies room and making eye contact so I know he saw us. Very odd. Relocating to Highlands Ranch. Sure to be back. Will be interested to see if we can experience five out of five.

My girlfriend and I live in Denver and decided that we don't go south for dinner very much. We took a look at Yelp and ended up at this joint. I think this place could have earned 4 or 5 stars but the waitress was very unimpressive and unfortunately I was eating on a budget and didn't get to try as much stuff as I would have hoped for. We split some plain old spaghetti and meatballs, and the sauce was amazing, the meatballs on the other hand were a little 'mushy' for lack of a better term. I think they just used a lot of bread crumbs in them, but it didn't do wonders for the texture. The pre-meal bread was excellent and the soup was just okay. Again, I'd be willing to try it again if I was in the area probably, but I won't be driving all the way from Denver to do so. If only the waitress was a little more personable, it could have been a completely different experience. Too bad, I bet some of the other stuff on the menu is great judging by that pasta sauce.

Very disappointing. It has such good reviews but don't be fooled. We waited for 10 min and then our waitress came and asked if we had been helped, shocked that it was her job, and took our order. The food came quickly though. We ate and she checked in once. The food was not great. However, The flatbread and artisan complimentary bread was very good. I got chicken parm and my friend got pizza. There was no Sauce on the pizza (the meatball one). The sauce for the Parm was super blah, basically tomato sauce. Done eating. We asked our bus lady (who was the only one paying attention to us - she brought us our water through the meal and took our plates timely {she rocked!!}) for a box after about 7 min of waiting because our waitress was no where to be found. She boxed our food and then we waited 15 min for the waitress to throw desert menus on our face and walk off. She didn't even ask us if we wanted dessert! 15 min later she came back around and took the menus back. 15 min after that we finally got our check and were able to leave. Ridiculous- worse waitress I have ever had!! Didn't tell us her name, didn't tell us the specials, didn't ask if we wanted appetizers or anything to drink, etc.

Ay ay ay.... Not good. The restaurant itself had potential but the hospitality was awful. Our waitress didn't even ask if we wanted anything to drink, she didn't give us the specials, didn't make eye contact, or even say hello. We waited over a half hour before she checked on us. The waitress came over after about an hour, slammed the dessert menus on the table and left. She didn't even ask if we wanted dessert. Overall, we spent an hour and half waiting for various things, and being treated like we were a nuisance. The food was mediocre and fairly expensive for the quality. Honestly, anywhere else is probably better. . Would not come back.

Outstanding service! ALL of the staff was friendly from the host, to the Server, to the bus boy and the random people dropping off food/clearing our table. I believe the manager or chef also stopped by to ask if we enjoyed our meals. We ordered a side salad, Chicken Parmesan and a pasta dish- Strozzapreti, Chicken, Prosciutto, Peas, Tellagio Fonduta. The dressing on the side salad was really good. They should bottle and sell it. The Chicken Parmesan was good, but not amazing. I absolutely loved the pasta dish. It was a great combination of ingredients. Lastly we had the Sauvignon Blanc, Yealand's, New Zealand wine. Great addition to their wine list. I would probably go back if I was in the area again (I live in downtown Denver), but I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

I have to travel for my job sometimes, it's really hard to find a decent restaurant. I was recommended Farros and thought I would give it a try. The waiter had a very good knowledge of the specials. I decided to try the roast Cod. I was not disappointed. The service was exceptional. The staff was courteous and friendly. The roast cod was the best meal I've had in a restaurant in a long long time. Not the cheapest restaurant, but boy it was good!

Very good food, great prices for the $$. 3 glasses wine, 1 beer at bar for $18 is a start to reasonable prices at the bar. Calamari app for $10 was overpriced for the amount of food, but cooked well with good flavoring. Seafood Farro was excellent value, a big bowl of seafood in spicy thicker red both/sauce. Spaghetti with three cheese, just OK, and lasagna overcooked. Great staff.

Aman S.
Mediocre at best. The soup was cold, the meatloaf was not so good. Also the wine selection was very limited and small. The calamari was the only thing that was good.

This was our 4th or 5th visit to Farro's and by far the best experience we have had yet. 1st off, we had a reservation for 7:30 so we showed up a few minutes early and upon check in at the desk we waited MAYBE 5 minutes for a table. As soon as we were seated we had waters and bread placed for us almost immediately. Our server, Abby, was there right after that to take our drink orders and run down the specials. We got a bottle of wine, which is was delicious. Our orders came out very quickly and the food here does not disappoint. I had a fabulous pasta dish and my wife got the seafood spaghetti. The only down side to the food is that I was envious that I did not get the same dish as my wife. Probably one of the best Italian meals I have EVER tasted!!! Abby was a great server and took care of us wonderfully. At the end of our meal, we found the owner and personally told him how wonderful nopt only the food was but about how great Abby was as well. We will definetly be returning here and telling our friends about this place.

What a great local find -- I loved the calm, yet crowded atmosphere, Bolognese sauce with pasta was outstanding and unique, as was the lasagna and margarita pizza with fresh basil and very high quality cheeses. Will definitely be back, staff was amazing -- Gabby, Beth & the owner Matthew were warm and inviting!

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(5)Max K.
First time at this place and it was great! Wait staff was amazing, patient and helpful with our questions and made great recommendations based on what we wanted rather than what they were supposed to be selling that night. Will need to come back another time and try other dishes!
(5)Roxie C.
Fine but not great. Our service was good, and the place was busy. Food was ok, but nothing special. I had the cod, hubby had linguine w clams. We also had calamari.
(3)Jeff B.
(4)Judy M.
(4)Charlie M.
Table for two, both first time here....service was very attentive and both of our dishes were great. Decent wine selection and I had the pasta with salmon special with a light cream sauce that was just right :)
(4)Hillary B.
This place was fantastic!!! We got great service, the food was fabulous and we can't wait to come back!
(5)Rob M.
(4)Deb C.
(4)Stephanie M.
The bread they bring with drinks comes with a salsa-like dipping dish that is very tasty. I ordered the meatloaf that came with gravy and garlic mashed potatoes and was excellent! The rest of my family enjoyed their food but didn't think it was anything to rave about.
(4)Blake H.
(4)Suzanne C.
We had 6 people in our party tonight and everyone loved everything that they had. The service tonight was also as good as the food. My only complaint was that the delicious creme brulee we had tonight was a special, and will not be on the menu every day! We will definitely be back!

New Years Eve, 2014. My wife, myself and close friends, decided to try Farro Italian Restaurant for the first time. The Yelp! reviews were a major factor in deciding to dine here. Located in a strip center, I was a bit skeptical but, it turned out to be a pleasant place. Regarding the food, we had a mixed experience. Three of the four dishes ordered were quite spicy. Admittedly, two of us aren't fans of spicy dishes but even the third diner found her entrée to be loaded with red pepper. The one dish that was outstanding, amazingly in an Italian restaurant, was their meatloaf. None of the three spicy entrees were those you'd expect to be so. Service-wise, our server and the support staff were very attentive. My only criticism here was that our server was asked about how spicy certain dishes were and he replied "not very". Of course, how "hot" a dish is is subjective and the kitchen controls the outcome. Also, our server did offer to switch my entrée. Finally, Farro is on the expensive end of the spectrum. With very limited hours of operation, I believe they need elevated prices to support the operation. In summary, we may give Farro another try, but there are plenty of other good Italian eateries in the metro area. So, frankly, I'm not sure.
(3)Marie R.
(5)Ray C.
Great food and not too pricey. Service is good. Try the specials. I had the Trout special and the roasted veggies were fantastic. Wife had Sea Bass and it was also good. My son had the veal and it was slightly salty. Overall a good experience.
(4)Stephanie W.
(4)Jim B.
Been thinking about going for years glad I finally went. Enjoy the place food was great had the lamb shank special it was awesome. Waitress was very good and the owner/chef came out to our table to talk. We will be back.
(4)E K.
(1)David S.
Delirious and reasonably priced!
(5)Max C.
(5)Nicole J.
The food was pretty good. The service wasn't great and they aren't kid friendly at all!
(3)Pauline D.
Best calamari ever!!
(4)Merrie B.
A little expensive but very tasty. Ordered the beef carpaccio, salmon and Nutella mud pie. Would recommend all of them. Spanish risotto that came with the salmon was particularly good- creamy and well cooked.
(4)Susan P.
(5)Danita N.
(5)Chris S.

What a neighborhood Gem.. We have been here twice in the last week.... One of the BEST Italian Restaurants we have ever been to. Yummy....
(5)Ron B.

Wonderful family-owned restaurant. Food was delicious! My husband lived in Italy for a year and said this was the closest thing he has had to authentic Italian food. a definite must...reservations are needed for weekend evenings
(4)Kevin K.

This place is great! First time here and the service and people were so friendly on top of being efficient! Check this place out for great Italian food!
(5)Roger P.
Very good food, very reasonably priced. I had Sea Bass for $19. Excellent taste. I recommend the Nutella Mud Pie for dessert.
(5)John Z.
Excellent food. Great ambience. Friendly staff and chef. I used to live in Italy and the Strozipreti is very similar to my favorite meal there. They do a great job.
(4)Matt W.
Atmosphere was okay... Good was pretty good. Service was not great.
(3)Zom B.
Came here one night to try something new the service was fantastic the food was perfect! Great lasagna and bread! You can tell there is a lot of effort put into the food and the wait staff seems to genuinely care
(5)Tracy T.
(2)Jessica P.
(5)Jamie K.

(3)Steve W.

(5)Chris B.
The service here was so genuinely like home, I didn't want to leave. Seriously. Personal, home style, and FAST. Oh, I'll be coming back here very soon. With food this good, I have to.
(5)clete l.
(4)Genie C.
Excellent food, excellent service. Will go there again.
(4)John H.
This is some of best Italian food I have eaten since I been to Italy... This pizza is great, my 3y.o. kept eating it along with the calamari!
(5)Kim D.
Love Farro.... Eggplant fries are great. Supporting your local restaurant is easy when it is this good. Not a chain. Nice staff. Try the red~ Col di Sasso / Banfi wine.
(5)Adam W.
(2)Monica B.

Calamari was so delicious. My husband was in heaven with his choice. The wine was excellent!

(4)Manea v.
There is nothing that I have had at this location that has ever been bad, or plain blaze'. The flavors are rich in detail and care. The chef loves what he is doing and you can taste it! Save room for desert, because it is worth it also! the prices are comparable for the quality you get.
(5)Justin L.
This is a nice restaurant with great Italian food. The service is not good at all.
(3)Don P.
Calamari is one of the best new tastes I've had. Feels good to have a nice neighborhood place with exceptional food. We now go there at least once every two weeks.
(5)Paul B.
I really enjoyed the food. It was fresh and the waiter was very attentive.
(5)Kevin S.
Ok. Nothing great or horrible. Very average but better than your typical chain
(3)Paula P.
Always enjoy a meal here - the meatloaf is my favorite. Pastas are good, portions are large. Wish it were open for lunch.
(5)Brian D.
Great local Italian restaurant. Absolutely loved the food and the service. Highly recommend. The food is mire traditional Italian not just creamy pasta. If your by Park Meadows give it a try.
(4)Jackie B.
(4)Tata F.

I can't begin to put into words how great this place is. We went on a recommendation from a friend and I'm so glad we did. One of the best brick oven pizzas I have ever had. Their red sauce is delicious. Ingredients are fresh and flavorful. The lasagna was ridiculously good. We were even fortunate enough to be there on a night where creme brûlée was the desert special, it was amazing. The icing on the cake was the exceptional service we were provided. If you're in the neighborhood you must stop by for dinner.
(5)Christen G.
(5)Jeannie M.
Excellent. Simple and delicious. I had the angel hair pasta - Tomatoes. Delicious!! Antipasti was good and their olives are to die for.
(4)Dave H.
A third visit in a month, and all of them have been equally good. Saturday night the place was packed, but, with only a bit slower service, the food was all excellent for our party of five. (This review was for 3/22/14, but never got completed.)
(4)Jacqueline M.
So glad we tried this place out. Great service... Denise is awesome! Delicious food... highly recommend garlic shrimp as a starter, salmon main course & mud pie for a sweet treat. What a great neighborhood, suburban gem. We will definitely go back sometime soon!
(5)Emma G.

(3)Michael I.
(5)Tom A.
(3)Adrienne I.
The food is authentic and full of flavor! It's no Cafe Jordano, but it's a close second for homemade Italian.
(5)Grant M.

(4)Tim S.
Decent food and decent service. Rigatoni was filling. Not our first choice for Italian but we give all a chance.
(3)Jack K.
(3)Melissa M.
(3)Marissa E.

I have been to this place for dinner 3 times now. Food is good but service is great and staff is very friendly which makes the overall experience really good.
