My first time here and it won't be my last. I was greeted with a friendly smile and I gave my order. It was the daily special which was Ribs with two sides for just $9.99 and they gave me a military discount. The ribs practically fell off the bone they were so moist and tasty. I put on the sweet BBQ sauce. I also ordered the cheesy potatoes and the jalapeño beans and both were tasty. I topped off my dinner with free ice cream. If your hungry bring your appetite. I have ate at BBQ places all over the U.S. and Dickies is top notch. Don't take it from me though I suggest you give it a try.

Had a really outstanding catering experience here. Easy to place the order, ready on time and piping hot, very reasonable prices which included plasticware, plates, serving utensils and a tableclth and really delicious! Highly recommended!

Good, fast food/cafeteria style Texas BBQ. Came as guests for Father's Day. We enjoyed the all you could eat ice cream machine with our root beer. Everything else was just OK, but not bad. You get to keep your cup, maybe that's why people come back? I guess it is a lot of calories for your dollar. I see the draw.

First of all- yay drive thru! That was a really nice surprise when I ventured over here to give it a try. I was skeptical about the ability to have BBQ via drive thru, but it worked ok. I wouldn't suggest trying to eat it in your car while driving, but a great and quick option when you're feeling lazy and planning to take your food back to the office. I ordered their 2 meat meal that includes 2 sides and a piece of bread. Ok, the bread was literally a toasted slice of white bread, meh. I'm more of a cornbread kind of girl. Then I tried their pulled pork and polish sausage. The pulled pork was decent, but pretty bland. And the polish sausage was "squishier" than what I'd prefer- not sure how else to describe it, but the meat was soft inside the casing. The BBQ sauce provided was just given to me; it did not appear that you get a choice. It was ok. For my sides, I had the fried okra and coleslaw. The coleslaw was terrible- seriously the deli at King Soopers puts out better tasting coleslaw. It was all mayo, no other flavors- bland and icky, though I will say it tasted fresh. I took one bite and decided not to bother with any more. But, the fried okra was TASTY! Almost borderline craveable!! They were super fresh, the batter was perfectly seasoned and the right thickness/crunchiness to compliment the fresh okra inside. Perfect balance of salty and crunchy with those addicting little okra seeds. I might return when I'm craving something fried and delicious, just to order the fried okra again! All in all, there are better BBQ places nearby that I will likely choose over Dickey's. But I will return should I find myself *needing* fried okra or drive thru BBQ. It's edible, you won't hate it, but it's hard to get excited about it.

Popped in here for a late lunch last Saturday. Parking was easy and there was no line waiting for us inside. I found the menu easy to read and liked the cafeteria-style ordering system. The gentlemen behind the counter were very friendly in our interactions. I went for the two meat plate (brisket and turkey) and chose the au gratin potatoes and potato salad. My husband had a one meat plate (hot links) and a beer and in total our bill was ~$25. Nice price!! The food was quite delicious and meat was nice and tender. The brisket lacked a smoke ring but the bbq sauce went well with it. Free soft serve to end the meal was an extra bonus. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to return!

Ate at this location yesterday for lunch. Basically you feel like your in a middle school cafeteria. The horrible plates easily over shadow the dated and tacky interior. Just not a place I would eat again. Food was bland and I could not taste the rubs or the smoke. The potato casserole was bland as the beans and Mac and cheese. Most people may like Dicky's, but overall I have higher standards and getting rid of the buffet style and improving the interior aesthetics would have made a huge difference in the overall experience.

This is a self serve buffet line kind of operation with ok food, but they get you in and out fast for an average price for the quality. My favorite is the ribs plate, which is currently priced at $11.99. Sign up for the text message alerts and you get some great bargains. They have self-serv soft ice cream right next to the soda machine where they just happen to have root beer. Sounds like an accident waiting to happen if you ask me!

Very good brisket. I just love meat that when you touch it with the fork it falls apart. Their cole slaw is very good, seasoned well with a good flavor. Their potatoes are all a little too cheesy for my liking. But not bad. I love their turkey. It is wonderful. I like the hot BBQ sauce more then the original. This is better then Brothers and Bono's. Not bad for the neighborhood, and the price for 2 people to eat well was around 20.00. I can't beat that!

I had a little time to kill and I was hungry - walked into Dickey's right after they unlocked the front door. I had the 1 meat plate which comes with 2 help yourself side dishes. I chose the pulled pork, mac-n-cheese and peach cobbler. The pork was moist and I had them put BBQ sauce over it. The sauce was tangy and sweet. The mac was creamy but could have used a little more cheese. The cobbler was generic and mostly crust - had to search for the peaches. Overall it was OK/good - I would take it over fast food any day of the week.

Had an itch for BBQ. Came here and was pretty much a solid 3 stars. The ribs were good. Fell off the bone with decent flavor. My brisket sandwich was less then hot and really had to be soaked in sauce to get down. The potato bake thing was good and the Mac n cheese was that typical crappy creamy stuff. It was ok. Overall what I expected, nothing special...

I work for a medical transport company and flew to Denver for a few hours for work. Luckily, we were able to stop somewhere close to the airport for a bite to eat. One of the pilots had been to Dickeys and recommended it. They have specials every day, which is sweet. On this particular day (Tuesday), there was a $9.99 special for ribs with 2 sides. Sounded good and that's what I ordered. The ribs were good. They were a bit inconsistent. Some of the ribs were soft and tender, while others had crispy edges...but man, they were tasty. The BBQ sauce was good. I got the green beans and baked mashed potatoes. GOOD CHOICES. They also had good tea and soft serve available for desert. Overall..it was a good meal. We didn't realize we had walked in at closing time. The staff was super friendly and didn't let us know until an hour later that they were getting ready to close.

I waffled between 3 and 4 stars. Here's the thing with Dickey's, it's fast and reasonably priced and they have a great selection of sides and mix 'n match meats. But, the ribs are kind of the only really good BBQ meat they have. I've tried the brisket both ways, pulled pork, smoked sausage and hot link. All are just average except the ribs, they're pretty good- hubby agrees. One thing I do love about Dickey's is that they will cook your fried okra or waffle fries to order, no soggy hot-well fried food! They give generous portions and let you ladle some of your own sides. Potato salad was disappointing, pea salad was great- hubby agrees. This place is a good value for BBQ by comparison to most places around Denver.

I come here occasionally for lunch because I feel it's a healthier alternative to other restaurants that are near my work. I always order the same thing, the chicken breast plate with the cucumber salad on the side, it's a good low carb option as long as you use minimal sauce. A few times I have dined in and eaten the ice cream there, unfortunately it's just not the great soft serve ice cream you would expect, it's VERY watery. I would rate this higher but feel the prices are a little steep for the amount of food that you get. The chicken plate I ordered today was over $10, for a chicken breast and cucumbers I just can't seem to justify going back... at least not on any other day than Wednesday when it's the daily special for $7.99

Had lunch here with the boyfriend. Between the two of us I got to try the beef brisket, pulled pork, and chicken. If I had to choose one, the beef brisket was my fav. Next time I will get my sauce on the side... because I don't like my meat, well, so saucy. Had I known I could pick from a variety of 3 different BBQ sauces (self serve) I would not have gotten the sauce put on my beef brisket. The mac n cheese and potato salad were super yummy. It's a heavy meal and wished I had saved it for dinner. I was walking around in a food coma that I just couldn't shake for the rest of the day. It was too late to take a nap but too early to go to bed for the rest of the evening. My taste buds were satisfied but I was left uncomfortably stuffed...my bad. Free ice cream too:) Casual dining fun (my kinda style!) and I can imagine this would be great to bring if you had kids!!

I can't give them more than a 1 star review because their meat is horrible and this is a BBQ place..... The sides here are pretty good but the meat isn't. The meat does not taste smoked or have any flavor to it. It just tastes like meat. I was pretty annoyed that I ate here, I never will again. I tried the pulled pork and the ribs. The pulled pork was dry and flavorless. The ribs were fatty and full of crunchy things and didn't have any flavor either. Very disappointing place. Don't try it, overpriced shit. There are WAY better bbq places to go to, trust that. The baked beans were really good, the Mac and cheese was decent, the potato salad wasn't great (it was the dill kind and I like mustard with egg), but the meat was just horrible.

Dickey's is exactly what you'd expect for a chain BBQ joint. I've had a couple different things from here and while the pulled pork is pretty darn good, the chicken I got was extremely dry - not sure if it is always like that or just one of the days I was there. Personally I ask for no sauce, so I can use the spicy sauce they have by the condiments. This location (not sure if they're all like this) is a cafeteria style. You order your meat and if you're eating there, you generally dip your own sides. TIP: you can ask for fries or fried okra (which is fantastic), they make it for you fresh. The other sides of note are the dill potato salad, scalloped potatoes, baked potato casserole & mac n cheese. Dickey's is worth a visit so long as you're not on a low-carb or low-fat diet!

Dickey's was not at all what I expected it to be. The bf and I had a hankering for some bbq and were in this neck of the woods looking at cars (review to come). We stumbled upon Dickey's and decided to get our bbq-loving, sauce all over your face on. When we first walked in we were a little confused at where to stand and hung back while a couple (who obviously knew what they were doing) unintentionally showed us the ropes. Dickey's is order at the counter, serve yourself style. I can dig it. I ordered the pulled pork plate with the sauce on the side and got the baked potato casserole and a slice of chocolate pie. Add a Killian's to this and I was salivating. The bf got the two meat plate with the pork and brisket soaked in sauce (we have differing bbq opinions) with the potato casserole, peas, beans, and a Blue Moon. Total was only $23. Right on. The pork was delicious, but I am really glad that I got the sauce on the side. It was too sweet for my liking. The potatoes were crazy good and the bf's sides were great too. The pie however? I could feel my teeth rotting as soon as it hit my mouth. OMG it was ridiculously sweet. I could not have more than one bite of it. What a waste. Overall, Dickey's is the place you go when you don't give a crap about what you look like and you just want to cover yourself in bbq sauce glory without the requirement of much human interaction.

I really did not like at all this place. The Baby back Ribs where the worst I have ever tasted, they where really chewy and horrible. I could not eat them. I would say it is worst than an elementary school cafeteria.

Ordered the quarter plate. Damn good BBQ. Only problem is that the serving sizes are dinky compared to the price. I won't be coming back.

I never eat fast food, but this place is my only exception. Fall off the bone meat, great selection, there ribs and turkey are out of this world and their bbq sauce has a little sweet in it. You can also eat inside, it good fast food

Pretty good, but nothing to write home about. We tried the combo plate with all varieties of meats. I liked the ability to select your sides upfront cafeteria style, and the free ice cream was a nice touch. If you like spicy sausages you'll love the options here.

Pulled pork sandwich was ok...I like the free ice cream :)

Okay, I'll be honest - my favorite two things about this place have absolutely nothing to do with the bbq. 1. I love the plastic cups. The cups are awesome, you get to take them home and they are the best plastic cups ever. I don't know why, they just are. And the ones they give the kids are the perfect little size to take your water to bed with you. 2. The soft serve ice cream machine, which is free, and self serve. So I really only go there with my 5 year old who eats mac and cheese, drinks a sprite out of an awesome cup and then eats 3 or 4 ice cream cones. My husband and I also get okra, they make it fresh to order, it's good. I like the brisket and polish sausage too. I don't think they claim to be any kind of fantastic place. Everyone I know loves this place because of the plastic cups and soft serve ice cream. I recognize this might be odd but I'm really okay with being the sort of person who can be made totally happy by a plastic cup.

Went to Dickey's last week with my wife and kid for the very first time. I will mention the Entertainment coupon to lure us their. And also mention that they got themselves another regular customer! Yes, I loved the ambiance there and the meats are cooked right with lot of options for those who wanna stay away from red meat. We tried their Turkey, Chicken and Brisket and all were delish. The best part of the experience at Dickeye's is the fact that it's a traditional cafeteria style ordering set up and one can chose and self serve the sides they want and their choice of sides is nothig but GRAND! Almost 15-20 options if I can count right. They even have Peach cobbler as one of their side option! Over all we enjoyed our eating experience there and will definitely go back when the next BBQ craving hits us! So far, of all the BBQ places in Denver, I think Dickey's is the one we liked most. And that's coming from someone who lived in Texas and OKlahoma for many years! And lastly, their little perks are awesome such as extra toast on request and free soft serve ice cream!!!!!YUM!

What the efffff. Alright so I came here about 5 hours before I ended up in the ER for a kidney stone. To say the least I was feeling a bit off. We are all friends here on Yelp so I can tell you, I was in the bathroom every 15 seconds. So I walked in and was a bit surprised at the lay out (it is cafeteria style) and I had to pee and the more I tried to figure out what I wanted all I could think was "OMG!! PEEEE" so I ran to the bathroom. WHO MAKES A TOILET WHERE THE DOOR HITS YOUR KNEES?! I am all of 5'3 so if my knees are in the door I don't know what people of average height do. After a few minutes I noticed the floor was wet....not kinda wet but their was a small river coming from the other stall. Then I looked up and realized the florescent light was pouring out water. Something about water coming out of a light and then my feet being in a puddle of water while my knees touched the metal door sounded a lot like an accident waiting to happen. The good news is at that point I was welcoming death. The food...it was ok. I got the chicken fried steak with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. I didn't finish it because at this point I was convinced I was dying. Had I felt better I would have finished it but even then I can't see myself enjoying it too much more. Nothing about the meal reminded me of anything but microwave dinners. I am sure the meal was cheap but taco bell is cheap too and man is it delicious. If Yelp had a Ambiance option that said "cheesy" I would check it.

My husband and I both had the lunch special with a Brisket Sandwich. It was very tender and very juicy. It had a light smokey background. The bbq was sweet yet tangy which is nice. My husband had 2 sides with his. Baked beans and peach cobbler. The beans tasted like generic out of the can. The peaches were also canned. The waffles fries much to my dissapointment were frozen battered dipped (HATE THE BATTER DIPPED TREND!). It came with a drink and ice cream which we had no room for. All in all I am going to have to go back when next in Denver area and try the other meats and sausages as the brisket was so good. The sides are nothing to write home about but the brisket man just canot say enough....which is why they got 4 stars...if the sides had been up to snuff they may have actually gotten a very very rare 5 from me.

I'm going to be straight up, Freakin awesome BBQ. Best BBq I've had in the Denver metro area. I love the spicy BBQ sauce. You'll not regret eating here!!

Stopped in for lunch and truly enjoyed some beef brisket and some mac n cheese. Very very good food, served hot. Other reviews noted that the foods were dry or overcooked and I did not find that to be the case at all. The meats were delicious, and not overcooked, but rather tender, and juicy. This place looks great for families and I wish that we had a Dickeys in Arizona!!

Nice lunch spot with great specials on BBQ. Free ice cream cone will cool you down after downing some good sausage bbq and their spicy bbq sauce. My favorite side item is their spicy corn casserole! Better than going to BK or McD next door!

Dickey's Barbecue Pit is good. It was Easter and the family and I are trying to get some lunch. It turns out that something like two-thirds of all restaurants are closed on Easter. When did this happen? (According to my wife.. "Forever ago") Anyway, after driving around in random directions for a while, we ended up near I-25 and Arapahoe Rd. Not being able to stomach another Big Mac, we decided to try Dickey's. For those Parkerites that remember the late, great Big D's BBQ, Dickey's is sure to fill the missing void. This is very good fast food BBQ at reasonable prices. I had a baked potato with hot sausage link. The potato was ginormous and the sausage was savory. They wanted to slather the whole thing in BBQ sauce, but I opted to have the sauce on the side. The entire meal was very satisfactory and was filling the hole in my regular BBQ diet. My wife had the baked potato/brisket: very good. My daughter had the Mac and Cheese: two helpings! The pop situation was a little weird. They charge almost $2 for the pops, but they give you this Godzilla-sized cup to drink out of. I know that all-you-can-drink is the same amount no matter the size of the cup, but somehow I feel better when the cup is the size of a super tanker. And they have a drive-thru. It does not feel like the kind of place that should have a drive through, but it does. I am planning on using it in the near future. This is Jason N and I approve of this message.

One of the best BBQ values around! They always have coupons also!

I have to try everything once. There won't be a return visit here. I should have passed when I read the reviews and people suggested a positive being the yellow plastic cup you get to keep or the free ice cream. The brisket was fatty and cold. The sides I chose were baked beans and mac n cheese. I swear the beans were Van de Kamps. I only gave it a two because of price and bbq decor. If you're going out for bbq, don't waste your time coming here.

I probably shouldn't have gone with such high expectations. A customer had just mentioned that he liked Dickey's then I saw Jason's review and I thought it must be a sign. And since I love BBQ I thought I'd give it a try, with my husband and friend in tow. They both had brisket and 2 sides. I hedged my bets a bit and had brisket and ribs. Mac and cheese was definitely the favorite side for us all. Both of the potato salads were flavorless and quite disappointing. Why didn't I get the fresh looking cole slaw? I knew I wanted it, but I couldn't resist the siren song of the crab delights. That will teach me a lesson. The brisket was tender and was well complimented by their barbecue sauce. It was a bit dry though if it wasn't smothered. Fortunately for me I smothered mine. The ribs were delicious. Pork, tender with a charred crust. It doesn't get any better, unless they are 3 inches longer. You get complimentary soft serve as you leave, I made mine into a root beer float in their distinct yellow cup. The score Bad tater salads- minus 1 star Dry Brisket- minus 1 star I probably won't be back unless I'm off of Arapaho (which isn't often) and I'm hungry. I will stick to my favorites close to home; Sam Taylor's and Big Papa's.

The price of the food here is very good, but the food is just ok. right off the bat you walk in and its a bit weird, you walk into the dining room and walk to the back to get in line for the "buffet" style. Again, the prices for the quality food is good. the meat seemed pretty good quality, i had pulled pork, another member of our party had something else (i forget what) but it was good too. mac and cheese was good, beens were not my favorite by any means. the bbq sauces were disappointing, which is about 50% of a bbq restaurant in my opinion. you do get "free" soft serve ice cream with your meal though.

Yum! We loved this place! We went on Saturday early afternoon and got there right as they opened. It was not busy. My husband and I split the sampler platter for two. It was $20, comes with a well-portioned sample of all their meats and 4 sides. You dish out your sides, which I liked. They have a great selection of delicious sides. We all got something different and shared. Everything I tried was great. The meat was tender and flavorful. I loved their sweet BBQ sauce. My husband enjoyed the spicy BBQ sauce. My kids ordered the chicken nuggets and loved them too. I also loved their sweet tea. They have free soft serve ice cream for dessert which was a big hit with us all. I will definitely be going there again!!

I had a BOGO coupon for Dickies and decided to try something new. My husband and I usually go to Bono's, which is usually pretty good. In going into Dickies and seeing the buffet style help-yourself atmosphere I turned around and headed out the door, but my husband wanted to give it a chance. I got the pulled pork, turkey, coleslaw, and cobbler. The pork was dry but fatty. The turkey was tender. The coleslaw and toast had no flavor what so ever. The cobbler and ice cream was ok. The BBQ sauce was not good. I too should have paid attention that the hype of this place was the yellow cup and free ice cream. This place should be ashamed of themselves for even serving this food. Go to Bono's!

Used be good, not anymore. Had brisket with 2 sides. Meat so dried out could hardly swallow, sauce did not help. Mac & cheese terrible - strange cheese sauce without much taste, large sea shell macaroni, only thing with taste and not a good one, cole slaw mediocre. Will never go again. This was about 5:30 PM so should have been a decent dinner hour for well prepared food. Our dog did not mind that the brisket was dried out so at least it was not a complete waste.

We used to enjoy Dickey's- decent BBQ, good sides, cheap kids' meals and free soft serve to top it all off. Tonight we went and discovered the kids' meals have increased from $0.99 to $4.99 (they used to be $0.99 w/purchase of adult meal, now deal is gone). Then, they had run out of hot dogs- only thing my kids like there. To top it off, the soft serve machine was broken. The meal cost nearly double what I expected, and the quality was not all that. We will NOT be going back.

  • Matt M.

It's like going to a bad buffet. The beef brisket had no flavor at all. All the sides are just sitting there under a heat lamp and look like they had been there for days. Poor quality ribs. Looked old, dried up and little meat. Thank god for BBQ sauce or we would have starved. If you want good BBQ, go somewhere else. No idea how this place stays in business.

I love Dickey's. It must be those take home yellow plastic cups that make it all better. My company has used Dickey's a few times and I love it. There is something about their two meat combo that gets me. My favorite is the beef brisket and pulled pork. Both get a heaping of sweet sauce to cover it all. Their baked potato casserole is wonderful but will leave you feeling like a brick is in your tummy for the rest of the day. Hey...it's BBQ for lunch. For dessert try the peach cobbler and be sure to get your free ice cream cone on the way out. Don't forget to fill your cup with Dickey's sweet tea before you leave and keep the cup for next time. Dickey's has a loyalty club which you can sign up for in the store. They tend to use frequently to update members online with discounted coupons usually good for groups. (Most recent was 25% off your total bill for up to four persons.) Dickey's...what a treat.

This outlet and other Dickey's I used to frequent in Dallas have long been my favorite places for barbecue. Self service in most outlets, and you can help yourself to your choice of many side dishes.

Have eaten at two Dickies locations (Arapahoe rd & Littleton). I love the food. My favorite is the smoked sausage.I know it is not the healthiest but I think it is really good. (I bought some to go for later). I like the fried okra and the beans (I mix the jalapeno and regular). The baked potato casserole is also good. Hard for me to pace myself and not overeat there.

  • Daniel N.

I love Dickey's BBQ. Their food is much better for lunch than dinner in my experience (same food, few hours fresher). The polish sausage and beef brisket (with spicy BBQ sauce) are my primary staples and their peach and cherry cobbler is fantastic. As someone else said, BBQ for lunch is a bit much and usually puts me in a food coma so it's an infrequent treat. I'm sure there's better BBQ out there, but Dickey's is consistently good.
