Up until my last visit, this place has been a favorite place to eat in the DTC. The place is always empty, so service is usually fast, they have great lunch specials and a decent sushi menu. In fact, that's where I lost my born again sushi virginity (I mean, if you don't eat sushi for over 10 years, you become a virgin again, right?). Then I went here last Thursday for a management meeting in the evening. There was one other occupied table in the restaurant and it took our server 20 minutes to come back after she got our drink order. Granted, we're a big table (7 of us), but when you have no other customers, it should be hard to get back to our table to take orders. Then, once we placed our orders, it took probably 20 minutes for them to get it out to us with no visit in between. The waitstaff wasn't even on the floor for us to try and flag down when we ran out of water. The food came and most of it was marginal at best. I got the veggie coconut Thai curry and it was runny and bland, not to mention it had every vegetable that should NOT be dunked in hot liquid as its contents. I barely ate any of it. But I did eat my sushi. Om nom nom! then I ate some other people's sushi rolls. Then I had some other thing called magic fingers and they were awesome. Fine. I'll admit it. I basically dined off everyone else's plate that night. Now, usually, the meal is WELL done and cleared away before our Thursday meetings are done, but in this case, when we were wrapping up at 9 pm (we got there at 6:30), they were just getting us our check. It was an unusually disappointing experience for a place that is normally very good. I would still recommend trying it, maybe just for lunch, instead of dinner.
