Would have been nice to experience the food, but they tried to give me another order with another person's number. I called it in, reiterated my order since she didn't quite understand me...even, said cheese enchilada multiple rooms before I said queso...they read it back to me and before I hung up I even said my name since they didn't ask. I showed up and no order was ready. 4 women were behind the desk and no offers to help as I explained again what I ordered and it was the same thing that was read back to me when I placed the order. The order they tried to give did not reflect what I ordered and had another phone number attached to it. They talked for about 2 minutes in Spanish discussing things. Their solution was to make my order, so after waiting 25 minutes...that meant we had to wait even longer. I get it...that is the only way to give us food. I did however ask for a discount or something. Even if they offered me a free sopapilla, it would have shown a bit of an apology and servicing a customer. They did not. Nothing they could do. No apology even. No ayuda! We walked out as the way I felt and was treated I did not want to give them our business. Too bad I had already put money in the tip jar, should have pulled it out. 30 minutes later I receive a call, so guess they found my phone number, but no thank you. At that time I received an apology, but too late. 4 ladies could have helped when I was there. They let me walk out and were okay with not making $40+ on our order. A little goes a long way, but they fell way short. Sadly we will never know what their food tastes like (and I was craving good authentic Mexican food as it is hard to find), but Uncles pizza next door won us over with his yummy pizza and customer service. We did have to wait, but I would rather give service to a place that has good service and wants our business.

I came here based upon recommendations and was disappointed. I like the el horizonte mex restaurant just down the block a lot more. First of all the service was slow. I ordered the night reviewed grilled chicken and it was small like quail and pretty dry and overcooked. My dining partner got the carne asado and it was like a piece of leather. Thin and tough. Finally it wasn't exactly a deal. I don't mind paying more for Mexican food but expect better. On the good front they serve up chips and salsa when u arrive and both were good. I won't come back... too many other good mex eateries around.

El Pollo Rico is our favorite Mexican food that we have found in the Roaring Fork Valley. Very reasonably priced and excellent margaritas. I recommend that Mexican Margarita! They are known for their grilled chicken, so that is what I get when I come here. Chips and salsa are fresh and delicious, love the smokey flavored salsa. This is off the beaten path in Carbondale even though it's on the main strip. Worth a stop for sure!

the worst chicken fajitas i have ever had...by a country mile. the "chicken" was basically glorified plastic and almost as tasty as the sole of my shoe. i asked the waitress, after the couple of bites i was brave enough to consume, if the chicken came from a bag or a box, she just gave me a knowing look and asked if i wanted something else! i am literally shocked that they claim to be an authentic mexican restaurant. their food spits in the face of great local mexican restaurants (maragrita's on grand ave). the small amount of rice and beans they serve you both taste like they came straight from a can and were simply warmed in the microwave. i honestly feel tricked. if i wanted to pollute my body eating crap like this, i'd go to taco bell and save a good amount of money...actually, that statement is slanderous to taco bell. it is seriously that disappointing. i wonder if the money they save on poor quality ingredients is worth losing potentially repeat customers. i just don't know how they justify it. i will never ever go back! lesson learned.

This place has the Best grilled chicken I've tasted. It's in a small shopping mall just off main st. I drove by this place for years without stopping. Then on a whim I stopped in. The decor is interesting, to say the least and the menu is disturbingly large.(55 items) Fortunately you only need to focus on the chicken. It is grilled to perfection and then served with warm tortillas and great sauces. Give it a try.

Fantastic Mexican restaurant with fast and friendly service. They offer a wide variety of dishes that are all reasonably priced. The margaritas are delicious and pack quite a punch! The portions are very large too so it's easy to make a second meal out of the leftovers. I would definitely recommend trying this place (especially the nachos)!
