Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
I'm sorry but we just ordered food at 9 pm for takeout on a Wednesday.. Breadstick hard and cold, with the Mac n cheese that literally had no cheese sauce at all.... Mostly dry noodles with some chicks on it. Maybe my bad for ordering this food to go and not eating in-house but this is a sad day for Mac n cheese....

Great people and good food. I've always been welcome when coning here, and have had the staff recommend food for me to try. I travel frequently and enjoy the consistency between locations. The burgers are great here, getting creative with how the stuff them. Just wish that they served the Apple Chili Cheesecake. This location doesn't!

The decor was lovely (they must have remodeled), and the food was hot, fresh, out quickly, and tasted great. I don't see why there's so many negative reviews. Yes, it's a chain, but this seems to be a really nice Applebee's in a great location. It's definitely better than any other Applebee's I've ever been to. My only complaint was our waitress seemed a little on the grumpy side, but hey, we're all human. My bacon burger was awesome, as were the onion rings, so I can't complain. I left there a happy camper! Also, BEWARE OF THE PARKING LOT. Very tight, lots of crazy drivers who come barreling around corners without looking, and lots of pedestrians walking around. It's probably worth it to park in the next-door King Sooper's lot and walk a short ways to the restaurant.

I left my phone on table and went back shortly thereafter to retrieve it. The table had been cleaned and to my surprise the Manager and busser had not seen or had any idea of its location. My comment is obviously the staff at this particular location in Brighton are deceitful and outright thieves.

I know you people probably just think I'm full of hate for all things Brighton, and you may be right, but there's a REASON for this. I've lived here for 10 years now. And I've watched this town go from having about five thousand Mexican restaurants and no national chains (except for fast-food) to about six thousand Mexican restaurants and four or five outlets of the big chains. AND THEY ALL SUCK. Seriously, you can open a chain restaurant here that is good to great in any other town, and the one they open here will, invariably, BLOW. I don't know what it is. Maybe they think that 'cause we're kinda out in the sticks, service and good food doesn't matter as much to us. It would make more sense if everyone they hired was actually from here, but that's not true, a lot of people commute up here from Aurora/Denver to work. My recent experience here reaffirmed the above contentions, in spades. We sat at the bar in the newly re-modeled, snazzy Brighton Applebee's, and were promptly ignored for ten minutes or so while the bartender looked for a bottle of some obscure booze, made more difficult by the fact that the remodel included taking all the liquor shelves out, and sticking everything in cabinets below the bar. When she finally did get around to noticing us, we were greeted by a heavy sigh, followed by a half-hearted, "What can I get you?". Now, I don't expect people to do cart-wheels when I come through the door, but a modicum of enthusiasm would be nice. My initial thoughts of getting a nice big plate of surf an' turf were tempered by this, and I decided to stick with an appetizer. Ordered the intriguing sounding pulled-pork won-ton tacos, but they were WAY too salty to eat, and got sent back. So no more Applebee's for me, at least in Brighton. Golly, it's a bear to have to drive to another town every time you want a decent meal. I know, you say, why don't you move, and honestly, I'd love to, but we're so upside down on our house, we won't be leaving here except for feet-first, ya-know-whut-I-mean?

Yuck, I don't know why I am even wasting my time reviewing Applebees?!? The restaurant is not very clean, the service sucked and the food--meh is an understatement for the poor quality. I hate chains!

OK, it is an Applebee's, a chain. So, the food is normal and the decor is a standard Applebee's decor. The parking may be a little tight if you need to park close, but they have the entire grocery center's parking for those who worry about that. And, of course, they do tend to push the alcohol in the server's initial greeting if you show up at dinner time, but that's probably standard at restaurants that advertise the word "bar" in their names. Still, the food is pretty good. And it doesn't take a long time. And the servers at this Applebee's are there to refill the non-alcoholic drinks. The servers are not constantly bothering you about the food or needing anything else. You do have to put up with the manager coming by and asking how everything is, but a lot of chain restaurants seem to do that these days. So, in all, it is a reasonable sit down restaurant with decent food, fairly clean, not too streesful, but it is a chain. Yes, I'll be going back to it.

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
Healthy Food Options at Applebee's
When a restaurant serves ribs as their main dish, then you can assume the diet-friendliness of their menu. Well, Applebee's is no different.
