One never realizes how much they appreciate breathing freely until they are above 10,000 feet gasping for air like a fish out of water. Being from Florida, the altitude in Breckenridge gave me a ridiculous amount of trouble. All of that altitude sickness made it very hard to concentrate on skiing! Luckily, there is this little oxygen bar that offers a reprieve from the shockingly thin stuff up there they try to pass off as "air." There are several packages to choose from, starting at fifteen minutes. The oxygen treatments also include one of several scents. I tried the clarity and the energy. Both were refreshing and gave my lungs a much-needed break. I highly recommend trying an Italian soda. The passion fruit was my fave. The couches are comfy and the music is perfect for having a chill moment. If you are suffering from altitude sickness or just need a little pick-me-up after an exhausting day on the mountain, walk over to this lounge and get your oxygen/Italian soda fix. It saved me from that "oh-my-god-I'm-dying" feeling until I could get back to sea-level where my lungs have apparently determined that I belong. *breathes deeply.* Aaahhhh. :)

Why go to an Oxygen Bar if you've never been before? Well supposedly it helps with altitude sickness and hangovers. However, I wasn't suffering from either of these when my friends and I decided to stop in on a whim. There are four "flavors" to choose from: Joy, Relaxation, Energy and Clarity. I chose Joy and was expecting some kind of uplifting mixture of aromas, but smelled nothing. I usually have a bloodhound-level sniffer, but I was a bit off since my nose was stuffy from the cold, snowy weather. Fifteen minutes and $12 later, I don't think it did much for me. I think I was a little less stuffed up. Maybe. If getting an O2 fix is your thing, get additional discounts on your future sessions with a frequent breather card and by saving and reusing your cannula (that tube that goes up your nose). BOTTOM LINE: Not 100% sure but it seems like a novelty.

I had altitude sickness and 2 meds were helping me soso. We decided to try it out and used oxygen for 30min. The staff person was fairly nice. It is a cozy place. We just sat and relaxed while getting oxygen via nasal cannula. My spouse felt better but I didn't. We bought an oxygen canister to use on the peaks while skiing that seemed to help.

Late post 12/2014: Best RX TX for the DX: AMS!!! Shelled out $20 for a 30" therapy for this O2 deprived Cali girl. I chose the one with citrus scent. Do not order the patchouli unless you are a hippie haha! Very relaxing environment. Totally worth it if you got Acute Mountain Sickness or AMS.

Great place to go for a recharge if you are feeling a bit sluggish at a high altitude. Great music. Really helpful staff. Play a game. Have some hot chocolate. You'll feel better. Promise.

This place is a lifesaver. When I first got to Breckenridge I got severe altitude sickness and thought it was a mistake coming here for vacation. However I read about this oxygen bar and gave it a try. OMG. It helped so much. For the first time I felt like myself again - headache, dizziness and nauseous feeling was gone. I highly recommend this place if you are suffering from altitude sickness. I am so thankful I found this place.

This place was very cool and a much needed help to us tourist who are not use to the altitude, I suggest coming at the beginning of your visit to help your lunch and blood levels adjust. This will be my first stop the next time I come for a visit!

If you've never had altitude sickness, you may not be able to relate, but 15 minutes of 90% O2 can make a world of difference to your oxygen deprived brain cells and synapses. I never used to have a problem at altitude but in recent years that has changed. Breckenridge sits 9,600 feet above sea level and that's 9'000 feet higher than we're accustomed to. I was feeling light-headed, with tingling in my extremities when we moseyed into the O2 Lounge, but after 15 minutes of O2 therapy I felt a Lot better. Don't wait until you feel really sick to get some help.

The altitude was getting to me AND I felt like I was getting a cold. 15 minutes later I felt great....and then I went back to the condo and wanted more. Save your nose piece for a discount next time you visit. Husband got me the portable can of oxygen, but I didn't notice a difference with that...

yeah...this place helped a bit with oxygen deprivation...very sweet stoner type girls working there...no doubt quite familiar with the dispensary nearby. Latte I had was un remakable..but properly made. Perhaps psychosomatic...but I think the 20 minute or so treatment made a difference. I might consider renting an oxygen machine to sleep with next time.

Yumm I did the relaxation treatment for 30 mins... Legit. I feel amazeballs. Real chill. Highly recommended. The girls who work here are very sweet and nice. Ordered a green tea and am straight chillin.

Breckenridge is an amazing place, full of many great outdoor activities. Combine those with a night of drinking and close to 10k worth of altitude and you are heading towards trouble. Being a sea-level lifer, I have always had trouble with the altitude. During a recent trip to Breckenridge, a night of drinking after whitewater rafting got away from me and I ended up with a massive hangover. Cue O2 Lounge. I waited until they opened at 1pm. (Guy, I would highly recommend changing the hours to capture the burgeoning hangover demographic!) I opted for the "Clarity" scent (as that what I was obviously lacking the night prior) and plopped down on a leather couch and thumbed through the endless Maxim magazines for 15 minutes while breathing my way closer to solid ground. The new owner, Guy, recently purchased the place (it's been around ten years). He and his wife sold everything in the UK to invest in this business. I love that kind of spirit and dedication. For that alone I give it five stars. But the fact that it cured my hangover in 15 mins for $12 makes this place off the charts. (Empire Burger upstairs took the edge off as well...separate review) Also recommend for the non-drinkers out there. My whole family ended up coming during the week and shaking that altitude grip a bit. Go support his gutsy move while erasing your bad decisions with oxygen. Best of luck Guy...

fun place, tried it for the gimmick value. o2 seemed to help a bit. the girls that work there are nice, but they have absolutely no idea how to make coffee. my macchiato ended up being a large americano with milk dumped into it. just sayin....

Altitude sickness?? Oxygen please ! This places offers tourist a spot to get some needed o2 especially after a day of skiing or snowboarding. The staff is friendly and cost 12 bucks for 15 mins. Highly the recommended for those of us who aren't use to living in the mile high city.

High altitude sickness is no fun. Hydrating is not enough sometimes to get you feeling better. This oxygen bar is the place to go if you don't want to end up in the hospital. The staff and owners are very pleasant and accommodating. Love their chai latte!! Breathe or die!

Despite my fear that this whole oxygen bar thing was just a gimmick designed to take advantage of weary Californians with too much money to spend, I decided to risk being a sucker in the hopes that a couple minutes at this joint would return me to my spry sea level self. It worked! The O2 lounge is indeed a breath of fresh air....lame pun intended. You can choose a 15, 30 or 45 minute breathing session and also one of several aromatherapy "flavors." I chose to breathe in "joy" for 15 minutes at a cost of $12. I sat at the bar and the "bartender" was helpful and friendly, which as a brand new and slightly intimidated breather, I appreciated. In addition to the bar itself, there are also several couches on which to lounge while getting your fix. If it weren't for the pesky tubes up your nose, the O2 lounge might make for a good pickup spot.....but it's not, so get your oxygen cocktail and then head out for a real cocktail.
