Really enjoyed this place- nice to find fresh food and not another burger or pizza place. While I do not know anything about French cuisine, what I do know is if they ask you if you want flavored whip cream on your coffee drink, you should say "yes please"! Had an almond latte topped with their own almond flavored whip cream. (The apparently make six different flavors of whip cream.). A nice piece of heaven for the day. :)

Best place in town for anything and everything you need! Sandwiches, crepes, breakfast, bread, fresh baked pastries. La Francise has it all. Stop in and try anything out and you'll be sure to enjoy!
(5)Jennifer S.
Luke warm mochas. The girls behind the counter were talking about different animals the ate ... not to appetizing. One of the girls appeared new and didnt know the difference between a brioche and croissant. The title floor was wet and in the 30 minutes we were there, none of the 3 employees attempted to mop it.

One of my goals in life is searching out the best bakery in every town when I travel. After getting my son moved into a new apartment in Frisco, I decided to treat myself to breakfast! I found La Francaise on Yelp and decided to drive the extra 20 minutes to Breckenridge. The store is a little hard to find, since it is tucked into the back of several other shops on the main drag. This is not only a bakery....they also serve fresh crepes. My original intent was to grab something for the road, but the sweet lady at the counter convinced me to try a fresh strawberry crepe with handmade custard. OMG.....it was incredible! I never knew custard could be so heavenly! I also enjoyed one of the best lattes I have had in a long time. For the road, I grabbed an almond croissant. Even though I was stuffed, it didn't last very long in the car! That almond croissant was packed full of almond paste, and was buttery, crunchy on the outside, and topped with not only almonds, but some sort of yummy crumbles. Totally unbelievable....off the chart DELICIOUS! Highly recommend this place for breakfast if you are in the Breckenridge/Silverthorne/Frisco area. Looks like they also serve up a mean lunch!!!

This restaurant is a must do in Breckenridge! Do not miss the chance of enjoying authentic French cuisine. The breakfast here are fantastic, Great place to have a sandwich made for the slopes for lunch, and make sure you take home some bread that will grace your kitchen! Don't miss this place

La francaise. iPhone wants to autocorrect that to franchise. Real heavy on the nasal frahhhn. The place smells like a laundromat and looks a little like one of those travel brochures in a sunny window that's faded to nothing but purple and pink. Photos of the beverages are accurate but make it seem decidedly Chinese restauranty. I'll have a number 19 frappe. Hold the 14er of bland caramel whipped cream. The toothpaste-green-tinted mint whipped cream tastes exactly how it looks. And, on a slightly related note, the almond croissants are definitely, absolutely not to be missed. But wear some gloves when you stock them in the case, ok?

Quaint restaurant in Breckenridge offers something different. Delicious crepes, pastries, and lattes. Delicious!
(4)Patrick S.
One of a kind up here in the mountains. At times a bit busy/slow, but its worth the wait. There is nothing else like this in Breck for this type of cuisine.
(5)Tim G.
Went into this establishment while on vacation with my beautiful wife :). It just so happen to be the first snow and man Breck was beautiful and Cold! This had our Arizona selves stopping in every other shop on the way to wherever we were walking. So we stopped in here and got some hot beverages, crepe and cookies. The drink was made and they forgot about the crepe for like 30 minutes after paying for it. Cookie was okay, drink was nothing special either. The Crepe was the caramel dulce of yumminess. If it had come out when we ordered it we probably would have enjoyed it more. It was full of flavor and rich like it should be :). We probably didn't come on a good day or something but we will definitely try it out again when we pass through there.

Food average - huge chocolate croissant only 4 choc chunks on one half, other half barren. Latte was fine if not a bit watery. Ham croissant not too inventive - grocery store ham and slice of provo I think in between cut in half croissant heated in an oven, croissant was nice and flaky. Atmosphere - yes feels like a patisserie in France, moderately clean, decent ambiance music. Service - about what you'd expect in a ski town - mainly kids/young adults running the counter delivering slow (they completely forgot to put my ham croissant in and had to ask about it after 20 minutes) but pleasant service (I didn't have the heart to be mad at them for completely forgetting it).
(3)Michelle A.
Started with a half almond cookie and quickly moved to a chocolate chip cookie for the two of us. So many chocolate chips. My fingers had plenty of chocolate even after the cookie was eaten. Lick lick lick. Glad I was there only for the day.
(4)Stephen B.
Not only is the staff friendly and eager to serve, but the meals are wonderful. Breakfast, lunch sandwiches or just pasteries -- this is our favorite place in Breck. Often busy, but do you really want to go to a place with no customers?
(5)Myca T.
We had slight misfortune of coming right as they were closing for a few days for deep cleaning (which makes me pretty happy). We ordered some mochas and they were absolutely delicious, with a lovely almond flavored whipped cream. Yum. I didn't get a chance to try anything else, as they were out.
(4)Regina S.
If you call yourself a French Bakery, you better do the staples right. Almost everything we bought here seemed like a wannabe and not the real deal. The croissants both chocolate and plain were dry and brittle, lacking that rich butteriness that we all crave with this pastry. The almond apple tart was decent, but not earth shattering. Biggest surprise was the baguette, a pale substitute to the authentic, crackling bread that is ubiquitous in all the markets in France. We didn't even bother using it for bread crumbs.
(2)Kylie D.
If you're looking for someplace that is truly special, try La Francaise! The pastries were magnificent - beignets, croissants, meringues and everything else you could want from a lovely little patisserie. The decadent frozen and hot espresso drinks were divine. The coffee was fresh, strong and made with care. And the bread! Wow! The desserts, crepes and breakfast items looked fabulous as well. I would have tried them all if I'd had more time and the will power to not eat every single bite! This is the kind of place that I love - small, friendly and authentic. Clearly everything is baked on site and the staff is warm and efficient. The space is tiny, but there's some seating off the back deck and it's worth getting everything to go if there's no room to sit and stay.
(5)Andrew B.
What is not to like about amazing fresh bread. The aromas from this place will draw you in. Be ready to spend more money then you would at City Market to get fresh bread but worth it. I am not a huge fan of anything sweet, but I can loyally vouch for the chocolate crossiants. Very good. Expect nothing but friendly people, excellent sandwiches, great breads and tasty treats. This place is not to be missed on your next adventure to Breck.
(4)Bill E.
In a town that comes up suprisingly short on wonderful places to enjoy top-notch food, La Francaise offers pastries, sandwiches, and other food and drink that demonstrates a lot of thought and quality went into what they serve. Location is convenient, but you have to look at the garden level of the building they're in to find them. Space can be tight, but there is some outdoor seating nearby. A "must" if you're looking for a reasonably quick sandwich, or a really good pastry.

"FRESH" is The Key!! Always in search of "authentic" French pastries since I lived in Paris & Brussels many years ago. I found the pot of gold croissants, etc. in Breckenridge. The entire staff here are superbly outstanding, even making me a "real" Parisian café au lait every morning I join them for le petit déjeuner. A true Rocky Mountain gem! Thank you for true customer service and serving an outstanding product!

I was so happy to find this place and so sad that it was on our last day in Colorado! Everything about it is excellent! We happened to find this place by accident when we were on our way to get a crepe from the other stand on Main Street. Thank goodness!! The other stand always has a long line to get a carry-away crepe, so we decided to try this bakery first and maybe get one from the stand to compare later. No comparison was necessary!!! The bakery is on the lower level of a shopping complex on Main Street. I imagine if they had a more visible location, it would soon become the most popular place in town. The ambience is lovely - cafe tables in a smallish room around the pastry display case with sunny yellow walls. The staff when we visited consisted of two lovely French women, a young lady from Argentina and a male, apparently French, baker. Very friendly and helpful. My daughter ordered the cinnamon sugar crepe, I got the lemon and sugar crepe and my husband had coffee and a french "Triangle" pastry. The lemon crepe was divine. The other two kept stealing forkfuls from me. I could not go back to this place without getting this! A thin layer of nicely tart lemon custard in a lovely crepe. My daughter enjoyed hers, as well. The triangle was delicious. A large pastry with many flaky layers under an almond "frosting" which was actually like a meringue crust. You order at the counter and receive a number, then they bring your order to your table, and you pay on the way out. We left and spent a little time shopping and walking, then returned to pick up some pastry to-go. I had to get a triangle for myself, my daughter got the wonderful cupcake sized meringue, a chocolate chip cookie for my husband, and a beautiful square fruit tart topped with a half peach, kiwi and strawberry for my son. All in all, this place is perfection and I can't wait until my next visit to Colorado. I will be sure to visit La Francaise no matter how far out of my way it is!! Tres bon travail, and merci beaucoup!!
(5)D W.
It was good but I thought it was a little expensive. Service was good. I would go back.
(4)Vanessa A.
Ok, so I've only had a couple of sweet delights from this patisserie but they were both so delicious! After dinner we wanted something sugary in nature, so we set out for the crepe stand. Yeah well, good in theory but the line was rather silly so, after waiting a few minutes we got bored and walked on. Glad we did! We stumbled into La Francaise and got a slice of the custard 'pie' (not too sweet) and a triple chocolate round thingy (nice and light)...YUM :) Again, I've only tried two items here but, based on that, I'd definitely recommend trying it when you're ready for some French-style sweets.
(4)Chris W.
Excellent pastries and wonderful, friendly service!
(4)Linh N.
I don't know if it was the French music playing overhead, the bakery windows with meringues, croissants, creme brulees, or the owner with the French accent that makes me feel as if I was in France again. Oh wait, I've never been to France. But if I were to imagine how a French bakery (in France) would look like, this would be it. The sandwiches were expensive ($11) but we couldn't leave this place without giving them a try. I got the Parisien and Brie sandwich, while the boyfriend got the turkey and brie sandwich. The bread was different. The loaf of carbs had a dense but fluffy texture, a chewy but easily dissolvable consistency, and a powdery crust with less crunch than I had expected (versus crunchy baguettes from the French inspired Vietnamese sandwich places). The bread was spread with butter and inside were cold meat, creamy french cheese (brie), lettuce and tomatoes. I am not sure how a true French sandwich tastes like, but this one tastes different from the others I've had. It's hard to tell whether or not I love it. However, I do know that all the ingredients were quality and worth trying. Truly a great find.

Every year I come back and visit this place as often as I can... Their bread is delicious, but again what isn't in this place?!! I love the Versailles of all the desserts they have. Paninis are very good and crepes are excellent. My husband is a big fan of their drinks, I have to admit they really are tasty. I usually have tea and they have a very good selection of teas to choose from as well. Very humble set up and the owner(guessing) reminds me of Yul Brynner :) Make sure you visit this place if you're ever in Breck. I wish they opened a place in Houston...
(4)SillyMango P.
Pro: free wifi, tasty pastries Con: sugar overload. Although this is probably self-inflicted. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish anything I ordered cause everything was too sweet. Which has never ever been a problem for me before...
(3)Will B.
Excellent crepes. Good cappuccino. Nice feeling to the place. Friendly counter service. I'd go back for a baguette sandwich.
(5)Cherie M.
We usually go at least once a day every time we're in town! Ooo la la!!!
(5)Anna R.
My husband and I were on our way to a restaurant for breakfast when we stumbled upon this place and just had to check it out. The pastries looked amazing and very authentic. My husband had a cinnamon beignet that looked so good but I can't have gluten so I went for a spinach, tomato and cheese omelet and it was fantastic. The prices weren't too bad either-for Breckenridge. We'll definitely be going back next time we are in town!
(4)Andrea V.
Holy crap WOW! Can u say yummmm. Amazing flaky and perfect chocolate croissant. best cinnamon sugar beignet I've had since being in the French quarter new Orleans. Definitely stop here for pastries! :)
(5)Deuce S.
If you are expecting fresh, this is NOT the place to go! Most crepe/omlette ingredients are canned, frozen, or prepared prior to order. The crepes seem to have some sort of seasoning premixed in and they aren't as soft or delicious as other creperies we have eaten at. Oh and don't ask to tweak the menu at all; this seems like something they are not at all comfortable with. Food is served up on paper plates with plastic ware....even if dining in. While dining we also noticed a cake that serves 6 that was sitting in the dessert display that costs $54.00! The food and service you receive here is not worth the price that you have to pay. On a positive note, the smell of fresh baked bread hits you when you walk in the door, so I'd imagine that the breads, croissants, baguettes, etc.
(2)Jen M.
After reading the Yelp reviews, I decided to try La Francaise French Bakery. I went for lunch and tried a savory crepe- mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and basil. The crepe was very salty and lacked pizzazz. It was served with a side salad of greens which looked like they were from the bottom of the barrel. I had such high expectations. This is a counter service diner though your food is brought to your table. There is a limited amount of space and probably is best served to small groups.
(2)Gary F.
Their pastries are great, I had their apple almond pastry and it was very good. We also tried their chocolate eclair and it was amazing, we should of bought more. We brought some bread home and enjoyed it the next day, it was still fresh.
(4)Derek S.
This is one of my favorite places in Breck. Everything I had here - crepes, brioche, croissants of many colors, baguette - was fantastic. I was in Breckenridge during the off-season, so I can't comment on how busy this place is during the ski season, but our service was prompt and friendly. A bit on the expensive side... but, here, what isn't?
(4)Jenna C.
I stopped in on my way out of breceknridge after visiting for the weekend and wish I could have eaten at this place daily! We stayed at a B&B though so we didnt eat out for breakfast. Love this quaint little french place. The pastries all looked delicious...I had a hard time deciding but finally got a triangle...it was fantastic. The lattes/cappucinos was great as well...probably the best in Breck (second to my all time fav sbux). They were undersatffed and busy so there was a little wait, and the barista took her time making the drinks, but it was well worth the wait. Highly recommend. Seems like a hidden gem that more and more people are finding out about!
(4)Stacie G.
This relaxing, fragrant French bakery is a must if you visit Breckenridge! Absolutely delicious. Enjoyed a Croix de Savoie with a cafe latte this morning - incredible! This great find also sells scrambled eggs dishes and sandwiches on freshly baked French bread with options such as spinach, tomatoes, procuitto, Brie, etc. LOVE this place. I would absolutely drive 100 miles just to have breakfast here. Maybe further. The only downside is that a single pastry runs an average of $5.99/piece but, that being said, it's totally worth the price.
(5)Steve B.
Been meaning to review this place for months. I love it! Lisa, the new owner, has done a great job. Wonderful baguettes and chocolate croissants. My favorite breakfast is omlette as a sandwich. We meet our friends here regularly in the summer and always bring out of town guests. Nice to eat on patio by the river, at least in summer. It's location is a little hard to find -- below sidewalk level -- but way worth looking.
(5)Morgan N.
On the whole this place is vaguely tolerable. J'adore crepes, really just not from here. The crepes have seasonings tossed in and aren't as soft and decadent as I'd hoped. Also these ppl BELIEVE in salt--my husband's sandwich was overpowered by a hefty prosciutto and my Brie crepe tasted as if it had enough salt to last the winter and be eaten next spring with no noticeable difference. The staff is outwardly polite but brusque and if you ask to tweak your coffee at all the owner will happily tell you "we only do coffee one way here." Ironically the coffee is the best part. My latte was pretty decent. And last but not least, easy listening is no more easy to listen to in French than in English!! Moral: Save your bucks and hit the crepe shop on the street...no cozy cute indoor seating, but the crepes here just don't cut the mustard.
(2)Leonard S.
Sorry, words will fall short here... Baguette sandwich: huge slab of brie, freshly made bread with the perfect texture and smell which boutique-y bakeries attempt but don't attain. This bread is the real deal! Napoleon with fruit: flakiness of pastry layers alternating with the richness of custard, not overly sweet like most American pastries. Beignet: filled with a true homemade custard, not the pudding which some serve as a pale imitation. The care shows. Hot chocolate: complex chocolate flavors- delicate smoke and nuttiness, not the typical overpowering creaminess and sweetness. Topped with chantilly (this one was whipped cream with a delicate puree of fresh raspberries added). One of a kind! Capuccino: Lavazza, rich froth, accurate expresso flavors. Nuff said! The best part: don't need to fly to Paris. Will go back a tout moment.
(5)Jane G.
One of the best values in Breckenridge. Delicious baguette sandwiches that easily feed two people, tasty crepes (tried both sweet and savory), and outstanding chai lattes. We were in town for four days and managed to eat three meals here! Staff is pleasant, helpful, and some are even French!
(5)Bob and Audra M.
Went back with a party of four and the owners seemed to be away. We understand it's a small kitchen, but we had to wait a significant time between the breakfast arrivals at our table. Those who tried to politely wait ended up letting their breakfasts get cold.... Food was good. If you're in a rush, stick to their ready made pastries! The restaurant will be closed from Oct 17th- Nov 11th, 2010
(3)E D.
Awesome cookies but my wife thought it was just okay...
(4)Adrian C.
This is a hidden gem that should be found!
(5)Ken K.
On a recent pre-season exploring of Breckenridge, I found this gem in search of breakfast crepes. Inside you'll find a long glass display taste filled with tasty morsels and simple, small tables. You order at the display case and sit down to wait for table delivery. I had some excellent buckwheat crepes with savory French white sauce, mushrooms, and swiss cheese with an excellent macchiato. The food was plentiful and delicious and the espresso is exceptional.
(4)Heather M.
I had a raspberry and white chocolate mousse treat. You order, take the number to a table, and your food/drinks get delivered...payment comes last after you are done. Nice staff!
(4)Taryn S.
Simply delicious. We had an almond croissant and a egg, ham and cheese on a baguette, both of which were delicious. Everything is baked on site, portions are generous and the atmosphere is peaceful.
(5)Chan C.
Love the pastries and French cappuccino here. Absolutely delicious. Have not tried the crepes or the sandwiches yet but this is a lovely little cafe in the middle of downtown Breckenridge. Would be five stars but gets a little hectic when it's crowded and if you eat in they have you pay when you're done so you have to wade up to the counter again. Almond chocolate croissant is slap yo momma good.
(4)Tracy I.
An adorable little French bakery and cafe off Main Street in Breck. It's kind of hidden and you have to go down a set up steps to find it tucked into the corner of a strip mall, but you'll be pleased that you did. They have a case of beautiful treats, tarts, cookies, meringues and more! So fun to look at and even more fun to taste. We tried them out for breakfast one morning. They have a variety of croissants (ham and cheese, egg and bacon, etc) plus morning tarts with glazed fruit and other goodies. They also have ridiculous looking hot chocolate with a mountain of whipped cream, but we didn't have room for those. But they sure looked tempting! Everything we ate was tasty and good. The only negative here is the price. They are high. Like...Rocky Mountain high. The croissant sandwiches are $10-11 a piece! Other small pastry items are $7-8 each. By the time it was all over and eaten, the bill was around $70. Eeeeek. For 6 people. Who split croissants. Who split drinks.
(4)Katie H.
My husband and I stopped here because he was in desperate need for coffee. Luckily, the line was short and we were served quickly. But this place is pretty small - all you need is a handful of people and it feels pretty claustrophobic. However, I had some time to look at their baked goods and they looked amazing! They had an article up that featured their Almond Croissants in a magazine, so they must be particularly popular. But they had quite a few other treats that looked just as spectacular. I hope that we'll return here sometime soon so I can pick up some goodies!
(3)Jessica M.
If you come here, you have to try their massive hot drinks. They top all of their hot chocolate and espresso drinks with a mountain of whipped cream about as high as the peaks around Breckenridge. These gigantic whipped creams come in different flavors too, including almond, mint, and caramel. I came here and tried their caramel mocha, and my friend got the almond mocha. Both were awesome, probably some of the richest coffee drinks I've had in a long time. Sitting in here was a great way to unwind after a long day of skiing, and I would highly recommend their drinks, as well as their crepes and sandwiches. They have lots of different choices on their menu, which includes many pastries as well. I think one of the most unique things here is their Crepe with bolognese sauce, which is basically just an awesome Italian meat sauce. Cool place, super yummy food. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a coffee shop in Breckenridge!
(4)Katie K.
Not good nor bad. I found service to be extremely impersonal, almost crabby. I do not recommend the latte: too sweet with fake sugar/syrup. May as well hit up Starbucks or if you like Starbucks you wont mind these. However, the almond Almond Croissant was nice, flaky and sweet. I would buy this if you want something sweet but seek coffee elsewhere.
(3)Ted F.
Had a delightful salami and cheese sami on a French roll. They bake everything fresh, there. Mocha frappe was also worth getting! Not to mention all the pastries. You should definitely stop in if you're in town.
(5)Maggie C.
Awesome yelp find and recommendation by the locals! Excellent pastries! The location may be hard to find if you haven't been here before. It's on the lower level of a cluster of cute shops, easily missed. Just remember it's off of Main and S Park Ave, right by the pink buildings. Price is a little steep: $2.99 croissant, $4.69 almond croissant, $4.99 almond chocolate croissants, $4.99 flower of paradise (fruit custard pastry), $5.99 fruit tart. But it's all worth it when you bite into the delicious treats! The croissants are huge and fluffy. The almond croissant is just divine! It's not a typical croissant topped with almond. Looking unremarkable, it has a crustier texture, and the almonds are so crisp and flavorful. When you're in Breckenridge, a must stop shop, whether to grab a quick bite for breakfast or pack a whole box for road trip (something I regretted not doing against my friends' advice)~
(4)Jon S.
This place is great with all fresh pastries, croissants & terrific quiches & crepes! Cannot go wrong!
(5)Amy F.
Their coffee drinks are ridiculous! Mountains of specially flavored whipped cream! Crepes weren't bad either. Definitely a good spot to stop for a pick-me-up while walking down Main Street. Service was slow because it was so busy and all the drinks were pretty complicated to make, but that's okay if you're on vacation.
(4)Cosmo C.
Exceptional customer service, cute restaurant, delicious numerous French pastries and omelets. Great selection of cold and coffee drinks.
(5)C L.
Great coffee! Delicious crepe! Small area of seating inside and out. The mocha special was awesome!
(4)Traci E.
It's a busy place in the morning - and for good reason. The pastries are scrumptious and the service is with a smile. They aren't necessarily fast but they're good! The mint hot chocolate is particularly yummy.
(5)Megan L.
Very small spot so take it to go- but amazing coffees and breakfast options. Also a bit too pricey
(4)Elizabeth D.
Came here specifically for hot chocolate and was very disappointed. It just wasn't very good and to have whip cream on top you must pay an additional $2! The palmier was good and the service too. I won't be back
(3)Kelly S.
Delicious omelette and raspberry hot chocolate. I still here everyone I go to Breck from the Midwest!
(5)Erin L.
Walking around amidst the bars and breweries, I found this quaint French bakery and was pleasantly surprised. Full of charm with an old world feel, this authentic cafe made me smile. I ordered a ham, brie and tomato panini and was not disappointed. They make sandwiches on their fresh baked French bread, and press the panini until it's a piping hot, crunchy, gooey happy place! The pastries look great too, no room as the panini was large! Recommend this place if you dont want burgers and fries!t
(4)Mary M.
If you like Lavazza Lattes ... Which we ABSOLUYELY LOVE! And you want a touch of France in beautiful Breckenridge ... You have to try this fabulous French Bakery... My ham, tomato, spinach and cheese omelet could not have been better and the French baguette it was served with may just have been the best I have ever had... Turkey, egg and cheese croissant was amazing too according to my better half ;-) yesterday we tried their chocolate croissants and chocolate and cream beignets... They were all amazing! Thank you La Francaise!
(5)J S.
If I were to review croissants alone this place gets a solid five! But, we have to review price, the rest of their food, service, location and their drinks. If you want a cold latte and a yummy croissant you will pay about $10 and be oh so happy! However, should your croissant or other sandwich have have any protein in it, you might be a tad less happy. The eggs were too peppery, as in clumps of pepper in them. The ham was diced and had several pieces of tough grizzle (eww). The service is eh. Sit by the river in back and your time should be very pleasant. Breakfast for two was a bit over $30. Again, if you stay away from proteins, the pastries are delicious!!!
(3)Jenna J.
Live in Breck and today was my first time here. Delicious ice coffee and sandwiches. The prices were high but honestly I am willing to pay extra for fresh produce and top shelf products!
(4)Craig A.
Delicious beignet and mint hot chocolate. Well worth stopping in after dinner for something sweet!!
(5)Matt G.
Coffee was above average and the pastries were delicious! Also some of the best outside seating next to the creek.
(4)Vicki T.
Food was great! The pastries were better then the crepes. Would recommend to anyone. We had the mint hot chocolate and it was very good, could have been a bit hotter but still good. When we walked in it reminded me of being in Europe.
(5)Cannon S.
Very good latte and almond cookie. Would liked to have seen more options for an afternoon snack. But overall very good.
(4)Dendy W.
LOVED their pastries. Lots of different flavored croissants which was amazing. I wasn't impressed with their coffee, we ended up throwing it out and getting Starbucks after. If they fixed the coffee issue they would be perfect!
(4)Daniel P.
Really sorry to say this place has gone downhill since the change of ownership a few years back. Took my daughter and grandchildren in for breakfast crepes. Waited over an hour as they lost the order. Asked for a doughnut to keep the kids happy till we got the order...it was reluctantly given. We never got the bill so had to ask, they could not find it, but then found it in the trash. The cook pulled it out of the trash then went right back to cooking without washing hands. Grandson would not use the bathroom as it was too dirty...he is 9! Mentioned these things to the front counter girl and the cooked chimed in with excuses. Maybe snowboarders need training in customer service. I hope they can turn it around.
(2)Lisa S.
Fantastic omelets! Very fresh ingredients and they give you a piece of French bread along with your breakfast! Cute little bistro- esque feel to it!
(4)Joe R.
Outstanding. One of the reasons I've come to Breck three times in the last year. Must have the almond croissant. There's a reason why it sells out first, so get there early.
(5)Jennifer G.
We stopped in via word of mouth. So glad we did. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the smell. It was glorious. It smelled like cooking butter. I had the la tomato crepe and a croissant and my husband had the la paysanne. Both were amazing. I was too full to try any desserts but I will be back for that.
(5)Stephen P.
Great place, service good, food is extraordinary. Very happy with it. Agree with some of the comments about it being a bit pricey, but it is Breckenridge so that is to be expected. The croissant sandwiches were stellar. The quiche is very good too. Coffee drinks are a bit rich for my liking, but that is just a matter of preference, would adjust my order accordingly next time. Highly recommend.
(4)Derrick P.
Heaven for bread lovers. Much better than Estate, Mariano's or While Food. Baguette comparable with La Boulangerie. Pave bread-you have to try it.

Don't miss this authentic French bakery. The croissants, whether filled or not, are the best. You will not go wrong. Everything is made on site with nothing but flour, sugar, butter, salt and water! All natural.

Amazing food and service...delicious crepes, fast and affordable. Me and my family had la classic, la paysanne, la mediterraneene and a baguette. Great place highly recommended.

All that nearly all other reviewers stated is accurate. Great place for a good coffee and croissant or omelette. I went twice in my five days in Breck -- first time omelette with spinach, tomato and Brie -- the second one for the acclaimed almond croissant. Both were excellent!

A treasure tucked away under the mall. The service was very prompt and pleasant. We were not disappointed with our selection of the Almond Croissant and Raspberry Chocolate latte. A little pricey, but worth it.

The croissants took this place from 2 to 3 stars. If you want croissants this is the place but very overpriced breakfast sandwiches and coffee. There are places close by for half the price for better food/coffee.

Yum! I'm so happy to have finally found good food for a quick lunch in Breck. My friend and I opted to split the Lyonnaise baguette sandwich (butter, salami, pickles) and it was certainly enough for a light lunch for two. It would have been better with some brie - might have to add that next time. And, the price was a bit steep (around $11) compared with the baguette sandwiches I get closer to home (around $5). But, it was definitely tasty. The selection of pastries in the cases is impressive and everything was drool-worthy. I was proud of myself for only getting one cookie - essentially a coconut macaroon dipped in chocolate. Oh. My. God. it was good. One my new favorite places to go when visiting Breck.

First off, an important caveat: if they've cooking anything for you, give it 15 or 20 minutes. Cute low-key little place near everything, at the end of main street up by the mountain and the village hotel (by the base of peak 9). Down some stairs on the two-level set of shops, by the Cajun place. Friendly staff. They cook everything warm fresh while you wait, so it's not quick, but it's good--like, for example, if you order a quiche they cook the crust while you wait. Good latte and regular coffee. Their chai is made from a bottled liquid, but was made with real milk, and as the staff said, it was more spicy than sweet. They said the liquid was fresh-pressed in Colorado, and I'm picky about my chai (I prefer loose-leaf), but it was very good. The pastries were also excellent and fresh. A few kinds of beignet, eclairs, fruit pastries, nice cookies, croissants (filled and not). The baked goods also seemed fresh (soft, and definitely not stale).

Delicious pastries! We just popped in here on our way for some snowboarding and were delightfully surprised! Cute spot, fresh pastries; the crepes looked great as well. I would definitely stop in again the next time I'm in town.

Absolutely delicious pastries and croissants. The breakfast croissants are the best! We stop by every visit to Breckenridge. Only small complaint would be that the staff has never been friendly.
(4)Susan T.
almond croissants are delicious, but they go fast. Serve LaVazza expresso which made my day. well executed.
(4)Audrey C.
This was the second time that I had the amazing chance to come here for a little lunch! The service is really friendly and accommodating and I never leave disappointed!

Spectacular crepes. Best we've had in the U.S. The service was super slow, but my goodness was the food worth it. The staff was extremely friendly, just understaffed. I suppose it would be better when in skiing season.

What a fantastic treat to find this place. My wife and I are foodies as my wife is a La Cordon Bleu chef. We ate paninis, crepes, and coffee. This is a real find. If you know good quality food and enjoy creative menu options, then this is the place for you.

Really neat place - once you find it, that is. I'm going to blame it on the fact that it was snowing, and two Texas girls won't be able to find anything when it's snowing. It's in a line of shops on the main street, but hidden on the bottom line of shops and behind a big brick pole. The sign is pretty small and easy to miss too. But boy am I glad we found La Francaise. Their drink menu is ridiculous. As in a huge selection of amazing drinks and served in huge cups with home-made whipped cream on top! We tried the dutch hot chocolate - the whipped cream on top was taller than the glass cup it was served in. Pretty sweet but very rich and delicious. Baked goods are baked fresh - from croissants to cookies to brioches the size of your face (no, really). Great place to come for a bite and especially a delicious unique drink! And you know that ingredients are fresh and homemade.

Plan ahead and this place will help make your special occasions extra special! They can do a box of petit fours, fruit tarts, amazing looking mousse cakes!! It's alk worth it! And there croissant sandwich eggs ham &cheese but sub in their mozzarella cheese which they this with a pesto making it truly great!
(5)Rebecca S.
Beautiful creek-side seating at this authentic French creperie/patisserie. The croissants were all one could hope for--soft and pliable inside under the flaky egg glaze. I was lucky enough to order the last piece of quiche--tomato, mozzarella and basil--it did not disappoint! It was serve piping hot with a crust my grandmother would envy. Warm and bubbly table-side service permitted me to enjoy the weather this gorgeous summer morning. I'll be back!
(5)Adriana B.
Great food, but I'm only giving two stars due to the horrible customer service by one of the girls... More specifically the girl with glasses., her lack of customer service could definitely affect this business. I certainly won't come back for a long long time...
(2)Lisa V.
Can't believe I haven't rated this place yet, as we've spent WAY too much $ here over the past few months attempting to try nearly everything on the menu! Truly unbelievable croissants, crepes, meringues, tarts, and pretty much every other pastry imaginable. If you have a sweet tooth you won't be disappointed here. Yum!
(4)Shannon M.
A real bakery! Eat by the water. Cream filled beignets, panini's and awesome croissants. Excellent place!!!
(5)Tammy B.
We stopped for coffee and had a Chocolate Almond Croissant and it was delicious! The service was excellent. We'd definitely come back again.

We had La Francaise Bakery cater dessert for our wedding and were thrilled with the results. The owner and chef went out of their way to accommodate our requests for a variety of mini-pastries, and even made a special, off-menu gluten free dessert. They made it easy and fun to get exactly the sweet treats we wanted, and our guests loved all the pastries! I would recommend them to anyone hosting an event, or just looking for a tasty treat.
(5)Adam K.
Nice little French bakery with a shared outdoor patio out back. The baguettes are crunchy and very tasty, and the coffee was well made. The place is a little pricey ($10 sammies), but is of high quality with good service. Great place to hang out in Breck though.

Wow, what a gem! Pastries were soft (we got the chocolate and the almond croissants), with just the right amount of egg wash to give them a nice crust. I also got the breakfast sandwich with the plain croissant, ham, egg and cheese, which was delicious. Impressive up front was the girl working the counter, who was super cool and pleasant as impatient and hungry customers pressed on in. Espresso was good, although I think Lavazza is a little bit 'bright', In any case we will definitely be back. Come to think of it, this is easily one of the best patisseries I've found.

My husband and I make a few trips to Breckenridge every year, and we always visit 'The French Place' at least a few times during our stay. We never make the drive back to Denver without at least a few of their freshly-made baguette sandwiches, and we frequently end our ski days in winter or our bike rides in summer with a hot chocolate or an espresso. Portions are giant size--perfect for the giant-sized appetites one gets skiing, hiking, or biking at altitude.
(4)Emily T.
Love the huge egg, cheese & ham breakfast sandwiches! Wonderful coffee and delicious croissants too. I try to come here every time we're in Breckenridge.
(4)Barak Z.
Amazing food my only complaint is that I did not find this place last week. Must try the pastries and if you don't like those I had the spinach tomato and cheese omelet.... Oh my god!!!! You must go in And try this place.

This is a small family run business that I found while poking around down town breck. I was searching for something unique and not expensive. Unique and cheap is not an easy thing to get in breck, but I found this and was quit satisfied. Finding this place can be a little bit difficult. It is in a small strip mall in the basement part. So you have to walk off the street and down some stairs to even see it. How ever it is well worth the search. When you open the door you are greeted with a warm and cozy ambiance. There is not much room. But the cost of real estate for any business up there makes the prices reflect that cost. The tables are marble and very elegant. The family that works behind the counter are very kind and helpful. I was there on a Sunday. The father was working with his wife and their child was in there doing a pretty neat project for school. Fun to see what he was creating too. Smart kid. La Francaise French Bakery serves fresh breads, pastries, quiches, sandwiches, paninis, crepes, plus a wide variety of sweet and savory specialties. Everything at La Francaise is made fresh daily, and served all day long. They also serve superb European espresso drinks using Lavazza coffee. Catering, cakes, and take out are available. What you get when you come in there is wide choice of pastries and sandwiches. My eyes just bugged out at the fact that I could get QUALITY pastries at a very reasonable cost. I dropped down a good amount of cash. Not because it was expensive. But because I had to sample so many things. The most memorable pastry for me was the blueberry fruit torte. This bakery does pastries like Europe does. Heavy on creamy delight. Light on sugar and filler. The blueberries where suspended in a sweet gelatin, suspended on a bed of egg custard. All of that was wrapped in a flaky crust. Exactly as I remember from my time living in Germany and my travels to France. The coffee here was really good. I got both traditional cup and ended up leaving with a giant mocha coffee shake. It was pilled high with whip cream and when I finished it. I only wished for more. The sandwiches there are exactly the types that you would get in a Paris bakery sandwich shop. You have a great deal of choices to chose from. Even ones with boiled eggs and cornchins (petite pickels). I opted for the proscuto sandwich. It was great. I try to stop by there when I am in Breck. Its worth the stop for sure.

Friendly staff and a fantastic veggie Panini!
(5)Pratik S.
May be its just me, but the breakfast coffee, baguette and omlettle were just below average at best. We went on a Tuesday morning and were the only customers. Yet service was slow and the omlette just too greasy. The coffee definitely tasted like 24 hours old. I would recommend Blue Moose across the street as a much better breakfast option with more choices.

If you are looking for an authentic French pastry without having to fly to France than La Francaise is the place to go. I come here every time I am lucky enough to be in beautiful Breckenridge and the chocolate croissants here are the best ever! I spend a long, long time looking at all the pastries and trying to decide what to have. They also make fresh baguettes that my beagle decided to try when I had my back turned. She gave it two paws up. I haven't tried any of their lunch menu items or crepes because after eating a few pastries I can't eat another bite. Délicieuse!
(5)Brika L.
I love this place! Because of this place I now look for French bakeries in any small town, however none are quite as good. The owners are French and friendly and it's been consistent each time we go. Highly recommended for a snack, coffee, or sandwich.
(4)Michael H.
Being a Francophile I am quite picky with my selection of a good patisserie. This place is way beyond my expectations for being in a touristy ski town in the middle of the country. The almond brioche and pain au chocolate were quite authentic and the cafe was good even though I am not a fan of Lavazza vacuum bagged coffee. Contrary to previous opinions the atmosphere and decor are quite authentic and could be easily situated on the Cotes d'Azur. The proprietors were speaking rapid fire French that was well beyond my Francophone skills!
(5)Kevin T.
Lemon cookies and bread are terrific. Great little place. Olivier and his family are so nice and it is a pleasure to patronize their business. I go there every week to grab bread and desserts. Merci!
(5)Ted T.
Great little French bakery. Perfect stop in the morning to carb up before hitting the slopes. The Pastries are a bit expensive but well worth it. I bypassed the free breakfast at my hotel every morning to go here.
(5)W P.
The crepes and galletes are quite authentic and tasty. I wish I could say the same for the ambience.
(3)Becky S.
Best French sandwiches in town! The crepes are fantastic! I really love the lemon custard and strawberry crepe, not too sweet and perfect portion for a late breakfast or a afternoon snack. The sandwiches are not your typical submarine sandwich. Remember... this is a french restaurants, so funny little pickles and boiled eggs are on a lot of these sandwiches. The owners are very friendly and the coffee is strong.
(5)J. H.
Incredible breakfast. Even better on the back patio along the river. We had the egg, ham, and cheese croissant; an omelet; lemon and strawberry crepe; and a beignet - all of these were absolutely delicious. The croissant sandwich and omelets are on the larger size. Good coffee too. We will be back here again and again...
(5)Janene R.
The best Crepes and Panini's I've eve tasted! I also recommend the Almond Latte! The owners are wonderful! All of the pastries are delicious and made fresh daily!! I can't say enough about this place! Go see for yourself! YUMMY!!!
(5)Barb L.
This is a very casual, counter-service place. There is lots of seating outside in the back and your food will be delivered there if you ask. I wasn't especially hungry so just had a croissant which was delicious. Two in our group had sandwiches and raved about them. We weren't there long enough for me to go back and have a sandwich, but I certainly wanted to. The price was right and we'd definitely go again for a casual meal.
(4)Dave H.
We only had coffee and hot chocolate but both were ridiculously good. Fresh made whipped cream and the perfect temp. The pastries are next to try on this trip.
(5)Paula K.
If you don't have time to shoot over to Paris for a great croissant or crepe or French baguette, you are in luck if you are in Breckenridge, CO. This bakery is owned and operated by a couple from Provence, and their baked goods are as good, if not better than any we have ever had in Paris. And since our family is French and lives in Paris, we have sampled quite a few of their patisseries. If you haven't been to La Francaise, you are in for a great treat. Bon appetit!!!
(5)Lois E.
Well worth going out of your way to search out! I am a regular customer in the summer months, and love sitting along the Blue River, rushing next to the back patio. The owners (from France) are nearly always there. They , and the other staff members, work very hard...open every day of the week from 8 to 8! This is a truly authentic patisserie...I've never tried anything that wasn't delicious, and that made me think I must be back in France! :-)
(5)Brenda S.
all I can say is almond chocolate croissant.... Yum!
(5)Kabby H.
Truly amazing and authentic European pastries and bread. You can taste the care and quality of ingredients. The charming couple that owns the bakery were extremely helpful and recommended their Napoleon with strawberries which was extraordinary.
