Great burger! The meat was fresh and packed loosely. Flavored to perfection. Toasted bun. Great fries too. The owner, Lee, is really friendly!

Service is terrible. 5 minutes sitting on a Sunday at 1:30 before even being approached. However fries are excellent. This is first and foremost a bar that happens to serve food. Do not go here to eat, but to drink and if you get hungry the food isn't all that bad. The bar tender/waitress will be much more concerned about the bar patrons and their weekend plans than serving you food.

We stopped by on our annual motorcycle trip last year and even a year later it stands out in my mind as one of the best places I've eaten on the road. We stayed in Breckenridge for a week and ended up here 3 times. I didn't like the country fried steak's gravy, but their fish tacos and carnitas are unreal. Lee sat down with us for a good hour while we enjoyed his top shelf margaritas ( which are really dangerous if you aren't used to the elevation) and even though it was raining he ran out to his car and grabbed a map so that he could show us all of the best roads around to ride. Amazing sauces made from scratch, great drinks, really good food, and an awesome owner/staff..... I'm looking forward to my next trip out that way.

My wife and I shared to entrees, the chicken nachos and their steak sandwich. The nachos were really good, the chips were like a fried tortilla style which was light a crisp complimenting the beans, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, salsa and onions. The steak sandwich was pretty good too, came with fries. Everything was nicely washed down with a Fat tire on draft...nice! It's kind of tucked off on the street but look for the pirate flag in the front. The owner was really nice and friendly, giving us great service. We will probably go there again.

This is my favorite Breckenridge bar/restaurant. The margs are amazing, the main menu while not extensive is all great and some of the best value to be had in town. During the winter season they offer an additional specials menu. It's a bit more expensive but terrific. Personal favourites: the buritos, catfish, and the Thai mussels. As a Brit, they also offer the best fish and chips I have had in the 7 years I have lived in the US.

I would give Angel's Hollow four stars were it not for the atrocious service we received. The food does deserve a higher rating, though! The shrimp & scallop tacos were outrageously good in such generous portions that a single plate could have easily been shared between two people. My husband had the chile rellenos and said they were quite good. We're from Texas and have definitely had our fair share of good Mexican food, and the dishes at Angels Hollow were a nice surprise given Breck's general lack of decent Tex-Mex. Unfortunately, our server (I missed her name) was horrible - ditzy, inattentive...possibly high...that's how bad it was! (A side note about the food - our son ordered the chicken fingers off the kids' menu and was violently ill later that night. His kid meal was the only thing he ate that the rest of our group didn't also eat, so we assumed that was what turned his tummy.)

Ahhhh Breckenridge during the holidays. Ridiculously packed bars/restaurants that purchased their ambience from the same place the stores on Main Street get their t-shirts. After hearing about Fatty's from the locals and being unable to get into the bar area at 3pm, we wandered across the street to a place we were not sure was open. We walked into what could only described as a Biker/Goth/kitsch dive bar....which was fantastic as we were just looking for a place to have a beer. We order some beers and joked with the bartender in the Sturgis shirt (Lee, one of the owners). After overhearing that they sell their own hot sauce we ordered some chips and salsa (great, homemade airy chips served with 4 unlabeled fresh made salsa's). The hot sauces were so good, we tried to talk Lee into selling us some. He indicated that the hot sauces are in such high demand that he didn't think he had any left (later we left with 2 bottles). It was then we noticed the specials menu, with Brie stuffed Qual, Seafood Scalapino, Dry Aged Steak in a "something delicious" sauce etc. etc. Really great sounding stuff.. We noticed 2 other groups come in, both had been there the night before (that was the last straw). We were now eating there. Mussels, Scallops, Shrimp and fish severed over a Goat cheese Lasagna and topped with a soft shell crap was one of the dishes. Just fantastic. Myself I had the carnitas with both a green and a red chile, very very good stuff. I've read on some other sites that people had complained about the price, well the prices are clearly listed and very competitive. There is a standard menu for about $11 a entrée (carnita's) and a specials menu for about $23 (above seafood dish). We can't wait to go back. Keep in mind that this is fine food, it's not pre-cooked, plan to spend a little time eating and enjoy yourself... Breck over the Holidays = Total clownshoes Angles Hollow = a beacon of light, in a sea of clownshoes.

Had an incredible dining experience at Angels Hollow last night. Lee was a fantastic host for our family, and our friends'. Great margaritas (freshly made), good food, warm atmosphere, and all served with personality and style! The experience struck the perfect balance between family friendly and adult time...GREAT night for all! Oh yeah....don't forget to sample the great homemade hot sauces.

Found on yelp. Very cozy and friendly. Our food was great except the beans and rice were cold. Asked owner very nicely if they could be heated. Brought back new plate with smaller servings STILL COLD. Seriously?? Have you ever tried eating cold refred beans? So would have been totally fine except when i told her they were still cold instead of apologizing (she was the owner) she sai "are you going to put this on yelp?" rude

Hands down the best handmade burger in Colorado. We have scoured the State, and there are some darn good burgers out there, but Lee just has a magical sense for burgers that makes us coming back time and again. Add to that a truly unique personality and we just always look forward to our next visit!

I must have had the regular margaritas bc it didn't live up to the comments ob yelp...that said, I had the chiles relleno and chips and salsa...the best relleno I have ever tasted and with a fried egg on top...Whaaaa...never heard of it but made it all the richer...the chips and salsa were homemade and addictive! Best way to describe this place....diamond in the rough! We walked in and there were probably 2 people sitting at the bar watching football. The first thing I noticed was some smell....no idea what it was, but I soon forgot about it. The owner/bartender/server was fabulous...comical...sassy...and on and on. He will tell you how it is, mock you, but bring you some of the best bar food EVER this side of the Mississippi (4th Base in Milwaukee is the best on the other side). You would not expect much of a menu when walking into this place, but oh how you will be surprised. I had carnitas...some of the best I've had. One of my friends had some sort of seafood pasta....it had delicious shrimp, scallops and a soft shell crab in it, amongst other deliciousness! Prices were fair....$11 for most items on the menu, or $23 for the items on the "chalkboard" menu. Totally reasonable. So, what looks to be a real shithole, turned out to be one of our best decisions for food over our holiday in Breck. We even had 2 friends in from the UK who couldn't get enough of Lee, the owner, and his little gem. It is a must if in Breck! But get there early because by 6pm, the place was packed and people were standing and waiting for a table.

Whether it was the almost full moon or the magic mountain elevation, Angel's Hollow had the perfect dinner for my king and I. How had i not been there yet? Half Hobbit Pub, half Baja taco stand, here is where you'll find both fish tacos and a duck entree. Mid-meal, from behind the lively bar, owner Lee announced, "Okay everybody! We've reached maximum capacity. Let's all take a 35 second break!" while I expected a leprechaun mariachi band to serenade us, instead we got carousing round of "Sweet Caroline" sung by the patrons for our exit song. Their motto, "slacking since 1996." especially inviting to a group of friends ready to eat, drink and be merry.

Angels Hollow has some amazing food and the atmosphere is so much fun! This is not the place to go if you want a quiet meal. Lee, the owner, is always ready for a good time and wants all of his customers to have one too! The margs are strong and hit the spot. Try all the home made salsa's that he brings with the chips and guacamole. AWESOME place!

    (5)
  • Terrisa M.

Great location, fun/cozy atmosphere. Had the guacamole and chips - guacamole was ok, little bland, chips were homemade, pretty cool. Fish tacos are merely ok. I'd say this place is great for those that are looking for decent bar food after an evening of drinking!

Best chips and salsa anywhere! Lee, the owner, was our server. Nice guy. We ended up ordering a second order of the chips and salsa they were so great. Pork carnitas and hamburgers were our entrees--all great. Fries just OK, but awesome burgers. Great deck with great views of the Ten Mile Range. My little boy had questions about motorcycles (Lee is a biker) and he happily answered them. He also graciously moved us inside when it got cold on the deck. We will be back.

We were recommended this place by some locals and were drawn in by the specials chalkboard. I've been around Breckenridge enough to know that dining in small restaurants during ski season is a challenge, but we didn't expect any problems during pre-season. The specials board was lovely, with a duck option, pork loin, and coconut encrusted ahi tuna. However, the restaurant was hot, crowded, and the service was poor. Our party of eight was seated at a long communal booth, where I was practically sitting on the woman at the table next to me and had to keep apologizing every time I hit her with my elbow. Our waitress seemed baffled by our group since one couple decided to split an entree, and kept coming back to ask 'how many entrees should I have written down'? I guess I should have been more micro-managing, because after the food came one of our party waited patiently while everyone else ate their food. When we asked if his food was coming, the response was 'well, we only had one duck tonight, and she got it'. I suppose they could have warned us that they had sold the only duck of the day, because our friend was resigned to eating snacks off of other people's plates. At least they comped us a free appetizer. The food was ok, but not anything special (except the banana fritters side on the ahi plate, which was the highlight of the evening.) We tried everything off of the specials board, fish and chips, nachos. Looking around the restaurant, it seems like everyone else was eating the meatloaf. I guess if you decide to eat here, you should probably try that.

Normally I love Angels Hollow, but we recently had a bad experience there over Breck's Oktoberfest weekend - The guacamole and chips app had about 5 tablespoons of guacamole, the main dishes were cold, the carnitas meat was flavorless, and they never did bring us our last order of margaritas to the table. In addition, the dining room was understaffed and the women's bathroom was out of order.

  • Katie H.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. I can't remember the last time I experienced such terrible service. Our waitress was condescending from the moment she took our orders. My chicken fried steak was cooked to where it still oozed blood (inedible in my book). The waitress hadn't asked how I'd like it cooked or indicated that bloody was the norm. When the cook asked us how things were, I politely indicated that my meal wasn't cooked enough. In response, he was downright combative! He rudely told me that they always make it medium-rare (my friend next to me also had the chicken fried steak and hers came out well done....) and gave across the message that it was my problem if I expected their chicken fried steak to meet the expectations I have from other restaurants (note: I'm from the South). It's been over a week since I had the displeasure of eating at Angel's Hollow and I can still feel confident in not recommending that you eat at their establishment. I would have given them one star, but someone else in my party said his "over-cooked burger was okay," so I'll let them have two.

First, the positives were the margarita and the variety of hot sauces that were home made. We also enjoyed the chips and salsa even though they were not traditional. We were expecting a Mexican place but we were confused by the menu. Despite the high star rating on yelp, this place has a bar feel. There was also confusion as to the menus that people were expected to order from. When we sat down, we had a red menu, but then we were given a black menu. As more people showed up, not everyone got the black menu. Very weird. We asked for VEGAN vegetable tacos and the pork dish. The tacos came with sour cream! My pork dish lacked presentation and there was a pool of oil on the plate. The pork/banana/cherry combination was a little weird. I've had lots of great pork dishes before and this did not seem to measure up. I don't think this place has a trained chef because these dishes lacked direction. Also, in which culinary world is sour cram VEGAN? There were also understaffed. We noticed only two waitresses for all of the establishment. People were told to sit where they like which always creates confusion. A two star rating here means that I've experienced better, and I definitely have. The dishes need some polishing and they are understaffed during the rush hours (they were very nice however). I would not recommend it and I would not go back. They do have great beer happy hour prices though.

We were also sent here by another restaurant and were told that the margaritas were killer. Killer they were. $9 is a little steep for a marg, but one was more than enough for lunchtime. Fish tacos were great! Could have had more. Definitely make this one of your stops while in town.

  • Wendy N.

I agree...best salsa and homemade chips anywhere. The same goes for the salmon fish tacos. The owner is a friendly, interesting guy! I've been there when we've had the deck, which is decorated with beautiful flower baskets, to ourselves. I have also been there when the place has been full of drunk bikers. Either way, the food is worth it. Beware of the margaritas.

Great place, great food. I had a delicious burger here. The owner is very friendly and mixes up a mean margarita. The wood decor is comfortable and the television will have the game on.

This was the worst dining experience my family and I have ever had. We stopped in due to a recommendation from a friend and left to never return. We went for a late lunch on a Saturday and the place was pretty full. The place had an old stale bar smell like there was beer from ten years ago still fermenting on the floors. We ordered a steak sandwich two split and buttered noodles for our 10 year old. We didn't get our food (only two menu items) until 55 minutes later. When the steak sandwich came, it had a pile of completely burnt french fries with it. When I asked the waitress/I think Owner if it was normal for the fries to be so dark in color, she said "it depends on the day". She said she'd get us some other fries and turned around as if we were thoroughly annoying her. She brought us the new fries about five minutes later that were cooked normally. My daughter's buttered noodles were crunchy as if they sat for 20 minutes before they came out. The blonde woman working there, who I think must have been the owner/manager was nasty and unfriendly. Before we left I told her that this was the worst dining experience we have ever had and she was sarcastic and rude and said "Sorry, I guess the the cook is having a bad day." I continued to explain to her why it was not okay and she raised her voice and said "I don't know what else to tell you!". Horrible food, horrible service. We will never return.

Great find. We were sent there by another restaurant that had a very long wait. What a treat Angel's Hollow is? We, being from TX, were very pleased by the Tex Mex food offered. We had fish tacos, carnitas, chicken burritos, quesadillas, and awesome (strong) margaritas.

  • Jeff B.

Family went to Angels Hollow when original restaurant we were going to was closed for a private party. We were craving Mexican food and margaritas. I wouldn't characterize Angels as a true Mexican food restaurant because they have other food, but the Mexican food we had was out of this world. Let me start with the margaritas - a perfect 10 but don't drink more than 2 unless you plan on hanging out for a while. Lee, the owner and our server, made our margaritas. He said he uses 8 different tequilas. They were awesome which is a BIG statement from someone from Texas. The guacamole was freshly made as were the chips - both out of this world. The pork buritto with the red and green sauce was to die for. While the restaurant is not on the main drag, it is well worth the 1 block walk. We'tll definitely be back and we'll definitely ride the bus to / from Keystone so we can have more than 2 margaritas.

Real cozy wood cabin feel of a restaurant. I would not consider this place a Mexican restaurant. I recommend ordering off the specials menu written in the chalk board . If they have duck, get it. Not much of a bar / beer selection. They make the standard cocktails but this isn't a bar, more of a restaurant. Also, the owner is from Chicago and proudly displays that so that's a plus!

Tried this place once again because their patio is wonderful. Once again, service was horrible and again, the food was awful. What place doesn't have ranch dressing to dip chicken fingers in? Refried beans and rice were straight out of a package and the placement was bad as well. Until they improve their servers, it will remain empty and void of customers.

Amazing drinks! Killer margaritas! The music is super loud and awesome! The bartender is the most bad ass dude I've met in a while and it's like a big party in a log cabin!

My food was okay but the service was just horrible. Hence the two stars. We were stopping through Breckenridge because we had just finished climbing a 14er and we were starving. We didny know if we were supposed to seat ourselves or be seated, and after much running around trying to find someone from the staff to ask, we just gave up and sat on the patio. It took a while just to actually someone ask us what we want to eat after 10min of waiting. Our food came at a reasonable time to when the order was actually taken. Food tasted alright, although some people in my group couldn't stand their food. No one checked up on us to ask if the food was good or anything. After much waiting at least another 15min of trying to track down someone one of us asked for a box for later. Another good 15min later (aside from the person who asked box) we asked for the check. They apparently don't split checks? Something about them not having computers? The waitress said she was going to try and work with to have us get charged properly saying she could probably charge our cards certain amounts and left. This policy was confusing but we tried to ask her what we can do just to help her out with this chrck situation when she came back. For some reason when she came back she reiterated the policy and YELLED at a person in our group who literally had said nothing the entire time "look that's just how our policy is I'm just trying to work with you" and left. She came back seemingly frustrated and we were just confused. She said she was going to try and split our checks and asked what we ordered. Anyway she ended up splitting our checks (incorrectly as well apparently? ) First of all weird policy? I never saw anything about that policy and was not told about it. If we had known we probably would have tried to avoid the situation and eaten somewhere else. Secondly none of us were angry or upset until she yelled at us. We understand that policy has to be enforced (everyone in our group has worked in retail or customer service) but don't yell at us for trying to work with you. We were just shocked at how quickly things had turned. Just horrible service. No where is that acceptable to get yelled at so why should it here?

Came here for sisters bday. Was not sure if I was going to do dinner or just drink and apps. Waitress was rude. Did not bring out silverware. Margaritas big miss. Carnitas big miss. Terrible atmosphere . I never write reviews but this was so bad. Go to Fattys across the street

Great little dive with the best views for Après. The food was surprisingly good considering the restaurant's atmosphere & decor. The margaritas are yummy & extremely strong so beware. They have a 2 drink limit, they are so strong! Portions are big too, we plan to share next visit.

This is quite the place! Amazing dinner and strong margaritas. I sat at the bar and luckily a guy told me about the special board which had an incredible dish called the coconut crusted ahi tuna with red Thai curry sauce and banana fritters. It was a delicious dinner and dessert mixed into one. Coconut and curry are a great combo.

Two stars is generous. My husband and I were recommended this place from a tour guide. We ordered chips and guacamole, which was the only good part of the experience. The waitress had no idea what kind of pop they had, they had no drink menu letting us know that the non-consumable margarita was ten dollars, it had so much tequila in it, basically nail polish remover with a lime -we added water to it and it was still awful. We ordered the fish tacos to split- the sides were less than desirable- the beans were gritty and had a polenta consistency and the rice was still crunchy. The fish itself was cooked well and tasty, which was the only thing we really ate off the plate. I think the owner Debbie was helping us, she never once looked us in the eyes or asked us how our food was. Needless to say we left a lot of food on our plates and a bad tip. If you're a tourist, don't expect to be treated well.

Kind of a random restaurant w/a variety of food. Super small place with a great spicy Bloody Mary w/bacon! Many things are services with some Japanese yummy noodles...random but good. The pita chips & salsa are the best ever & so spicy. The chicken strips app are great. The smothered carnitas were good but SOOO food. The rice was ehhhh. No desserts random.

Cool place on Ridge St. The owner and chef is super friendly and runs a fun place. Great patio view and good food too. I enjoyed the fish tacos, the batter is really good. Staff is super friendly even when busy. This place just has the vibe of hanging out at your cool uncle's house, the one who used to tour with Zappa.

We decided to try this place out after talking with our fly fishing guide and let me just say this place did not disappoint. We were told by several people to not drink more than two margaritas and it was a good thing we didn't. The margs are super strong but taste great. The food was excellent also! The chef makes all of his own hot sauces. I had to buy one of the blueberry versions to bring home with me it was so delicious!!!

Smells of dank nachos right when you walk in. Hit up the house special, the margarita.. 9/10 would drink again. Ordered the pork carnitas.. Side of Guac and salsa. Delish. Sit by the window and watch the ice melt. Try all the salsas!

This place is great! I like the atmosphere - very interesting art. Also, the margaritas are strong and delicious... Definitely the highlight. I also had their special burger (can't remember the name) but it was absolutely the size of my head. Also, it's not bar food - yay! Hard to find a place with real food in the village that is not insanely over priced. I will be back.

Didn't get to try the food. Stopped by early for happy hour glass of wine- because of a play next door-the waitress got us a table then asked us to move 10 min in because "they were too busy for us" not a good impression for a place we thought we would dine later. Shame on you for such a bad attitude. Blech, yuch uch

I don't get the hype. My boyfriend and I asked the guy at the front desk of the hotel we were staying at a good local place for dinner. He raved about Angel's Hollow, so we gave it a try. He warned us that the inside is a "hole in the wall, but don't let that scare you away." We sat at the bar (which only seats up to about seven people, forewarning) at first. The bartender wasn't in the least bit interested in serving us. Didn't approach us at all and didn't make us feel very welcome. I noticed she looked annoyed that I ordered a club soda and not alcohol. When we asked the server if we could move to a table to order our dinner, she didn't seem to be too enthralled with wanting to serve us, either. So we sat at a table for a good five minutes before menus were brought. I ordered a chicken burrito, which sounded promising. Food was underwhelming. The chicken in the burrito was good and seasoned well, the ingredients inside were lukewarm and had no type of flavor. The sauce on top is something I would have asked to hold off on. It was very disappointing. My boyfriend said his fish and chips were "good," though. Once our plates were cleared, nobody asked how everything was, even though my burrito was only half eaten. "Are you all ready for the check?" was the only thing our server asked us. Basically, she said, "I want your money, I want you to leave, and I don't care about you." With that said, service wasn't great. This definitely seems like a place that: 1) caters and cares about the locals ONLY, and 2) are only interested in tourists money, not about quality service. All in all, I would say don't bother, unless you want to be disappointed.

Today I came in here with five of my friends and we were completely disrespected. We had attended the Beer Fest so did not plan on ordering drinks, but did plan on ordering food. However, upon sitting down, the server literally screamed at us when we ordered water, yelling "if you're not going to order drinks why am I here". Then she yelled, "that's the problem with Beer Fest, people are too drunk". I have never been so disrespected. We were not drunk, let alone obnoxious or disrespectful to her. We were hungry! Which is why you go to a restaurant. I have eaten here once before and the service wasn't great, she was slow and inattentive, but at least she treated me like a human being. The food is pretty good, but not worth being treated so horribly. Today we did not stay; we left after her rude comments and went elsewhere. As we left, she screamed, "Good! Get out of here!" I will return only if she is terminated. Plenty of other places in Breck to eat.

Easily one of my favorite foodie spots in Breckenridge. The rad dude owner runs the bar and kitchen and does a fabulous job. The food is always simple and fresh from scratch. For such a small hole in the wall this place rocks!!! Best chicken tenders I've ever had. The specials are always win. You really can't go wrong here unless you feel like being upright and going somewhere fancy. This place is a win win and affordable as a bonus.

Angels Hollow is dirty, the service is terrible, and their famous margaritas are just a ton of well liquors which are fine if your objective is to get messed up but honestly they taste like lighter fluid. The food can be good but it can also be underwhelming. If you work in the service industry you will feel annoyed by how rude and unaccommodating their staff is. They refuse to split checks which as a server I find to be a complete joke. The owners propagate the apathetic service. They think of themselves as bad ass bikers and they like to put on a show of putting down out of town guests at their bar and blaring offensively loud music.

Cozy and eclectic. Small menu but doesn't lack in variety. Large portions! Really liked the vibe. Mix of tourists and locals of all age groups. Music was great. Usually up here everyone plays it safe with classic rock, not here. I don't go to Breck often but I'll be at Angel's Hollow next time for sure

Live in OK and we always try to stop in when we visit Breck. Love the wonderful meals in a casual comfortable atmosphere. A HIDDEN TREASURE off the main drag.

Food was good, but waitress was extremely rude. She went so far as to yell at us and complain loudly to other patrons nearby. The issue? Wanting to split the check in thirds!

Angels Hollow is a great little place just off of main street and a must visit if you love margaritas.

Good fish tacos - 3 stars Service - 2 stars Ambiance -3.5 That's all I wanted to say but Yelp wants me to tell you more. So I think this place is a little bit overrated.

Went there on the recommendation of our shuttle driver. Walked in and was kinda leery. It is very "hole in the wall". We had a large group and the girl working there didn't seem to enthusiastic about waiting on us. But after awhile she warmed up to us and was pretty good. The food was awesome. Homemade chips and salsa are a must. Also, they are famous for their bloody mary's and rightfully so.

This place is really a hidden gem! It's small so get there early. Once you get a table it is worth it. The taco plates are so good and you wont leave feeling hungry. There is so much food. Also the margaritas are really good but a bit on the strong side.

I have never left a negative review on here but I felt like I should after our experience. We came because a friend referred us here. Basically we had awful service. Our waiter was angry and rude the whole time. The food was not good and I got sick later that evening. We won't be back

Stopped by Angels Hollow after a townie referred us and we will be back! Carnitas were to die for! We ordered margaritas and we recommend the jalapeño for sure. The patio was lovely and full of locals which is a nice change from the main drag. Can't wait for the winter so we can come back.

My family and I (8 of us) went to Angels Hollow the first night in Breck over the holidays. It was tiny but accommodating, and we were able to squeeze into a table in the middle. The food was delicious --pork carnitas and homemade chips and guac/salsa were the highlight. However they were severely understaffed and the server/owner (?) made us feel bad for asking questions about menu and the margaritas which unfortunately were terrible. (We saw many other tables make faces about them as well) When we asked to get something else, she insisted on us drinking them because there was a lot of alcohol in them that would be wasted (?)...to fix them she took them behind bar and added OJ because she thought they were just too strong for us. That did not make them taste any better. Anyways, odd experience but I would still recommend... Cute atmosphere and good food. I think we just caught them on a really busy night?

The best 'rita I've had. Everything we've ordered has been great. Fish tacos, guacamole and chips, even the homemade sauces are phenomenal. Nothing like swinging by after a day on the slopes and shooting the shit with with Lee while taking the edge off.

Came to this place over the weekend w/ a big group of 13. When you first walk in you're just expecting general, average tasting pub food but you'd be sadly mistaken if that's what you think you'll get. There are fancy specials on the wall that are much different than general pub food. If you're a fan of bloodies then you absolutely have to get one here (it even comes with a piece of fried chicken in it). The margaritas aren't the best but are strong. I had the fish tacos and they were phenomenal. A bunch of people got the chicken fried steak and that was great too. The hot sauces are also quite wonderful. Service was friendly, definitely a must if you're in Breck.

I'm sad to see that I obviously saw the bad side of this establishment. It was easily the worst part of our vacation. Came here after failing to get a table at Giampietro's Pasta and Pizza - which smelled incredible, btw. We were pointed to Angel's Hollow and trekked two blocks in the heavy snow to try it out. First glance was very promising, with hungry and happy patrons feeding down on what smelled like good food. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. The place was filled to the brim and it was obvious that the staff had no idea how to handle the crowd. It took 15 minutes before we had a chance to order anything at all. We asked to start with the seafood gumbo as we were famished and figured that it would come out pretty quickly. Oops, we were wrong. We watched four other tables receive dishes prior to our soup arriving. Eventually, I tracked down the waitress and asked to cancel the soup and get our two entrees to go. 15 minutes later, our soup arrives to my astonishment. 30 seconds later, our entrees arrive on plates - not in to-go boxes. We speedily gulped down the microwaved gumbo and boxed our food up. The owner/bartender? delivered my credit card and receipt covered in salsa. I had to literally wipe salsa off my credit card. Disgusting. She was using those same dirty hands to scoop ice and garnish drinks. We probably just hit this place on an off night. But if you're only in Breck for a few nights, do you really want to chance ruining one of them at Angels Hollow? There are way too many other good choices. Don't make the same mistake that we did.

Fantastic spot. Great place to go for dinner and or drinks. It was a busy Saturday afternoon, the crowd in the bar was filled with people chatting away and catching up with friends and family on a wintery cold day. Entering the dining room was like entering in a scene of a Film Noir movie. White tablecloths, servers dressed professionally in a romantic quiet-like environment, dark cherry wood type of furniture. We got seated on a round table and a few minutes later, got two servings of warm bread and butter to be passed around the table. Our server was phenomenal, taking orders from ladies first apart from the way we were sitting, addressing us with ma'am and sir, pronouncing our last names when presented with the check. Repeating our orders to make sure he is getting it just right. Clearing our tables, refilling our waters, making suggestions to my friends with nut allergies, so all in all, if you're looking for the best service, come to Joe's. They know exactly what they are doing.

Best Bloody Mary's in the state. The Carnitas with egg are over the top. Beat the dinner rush for the best experience.

If you are looking for quick, authentic Mexican in Breckenridge- this is it. We had the Pork Carnitas and Blackened Fish Tacos and both were delicious. Don't forgot the try the sauces- all are spicy and unique. My husband ordered the Bloody Mary that was complete with two pieces of bacon, jalapeños, celery and pickles. We would go back for the Bloody Mary alone!

Reviews look good for their food. I just wished we weren't asked to leave by the staff prior to ordering. We told whoever sat us that we'd be having drinks until two others were going to join us, then we'd have dinner. She said 'sure, no problem' and sat the five of us (1 of which is a 4 year old) at a 4 top table. $75 worth of margaritas later, we were told that we'd need to leave our table and sit at the bar 5 minutes after our other 2 arrived and wanted to eat. Considering there were 4 scattered seats at the bar and we had a 4 year old, we left. And I now regret leaving the 10% tip I did. Salt to the wound; the individual that asked us to leave confused us outside as a party that 'already ate' as she was trying to find parties to seat inside. I told her that we all wish we had the opportunity to do so as we left hungry and had to schlep down the road in the rain to the first place we could find. Ironically, the server at the other place we had to eat at said that he loves Angels Hollow and that the owner is a great guy and a good time. I only wish he was there that night; maybe we could have had a good time with him. Too bad his staff acts completely opposite of him when he's away.

POSITIVES Food is fantastic. I read in another review the owner makes his own sauces, which you'll see setting out on the table when you eat here. I recommend trying every one of them, unique and sooo yum. Food was delicious, especially the pork carnitas and the yummiest/strongest margs ever. I wouldn't recommend if you are looking for an intimate dinner - which my husband and I were so when I first walked in I was a little terrified of the owner (or whom I assume was the owner, could be wrong). With that said, he is quite a character and went around saying hi to every single table - maybe a bit inappropriate to be around if you have children language wise, you'll understand when you visit. But we found him hilarious. NEGATIVES However, we were a bit put off when we were leaving - we think we overheard him making brash comments like "Are you sh*ttin' me" when we asked for change on our bill. Mind you we had intended to leave a generous tip, but this was a little embarrassing. I can't understand judging your customers so openly. Still tried to leave a generous tip, but we were so put off by what we thought we overheard we walked out of there with an awfully sour note, on what had been a very unexpected and entertaining meal... He would do well to think before speaking so loudly in the future... CONCLUSION Meal was so incredibly good, sauces are amazing, we could have overheard incorrectly and we would absolutely go again so I still give it 4 stars, though I would love to give it 5 and would so give it less than 3 if we knew we overheard correctly. Based on other reviews I have read, I suspect we did. Just really hope we were wrong in the end...

Popped in for dinner on a Friday night due to no reservation anywhere else and we got a table right away. The owner was there and came right now. A little loud and abrasive, but you can tell he loves this place and got us drinks right away. We ordered the carnita tacos and fish tacos... they said it's hard to pick a favorite, but I'd go with the fish tacos. Huge pieces of crunchy, fried fish. The carnitas lacked much flavor but was very tender. The edges of the pork was amazing, a little crunch on the edges and it seemed like that's where the spices ended up. Either way, good food, loud music and a very friendly atmosphere. We'll be back!

My group of seven had been referred to Angel's by some locals who looked scared when I tried to make reservations and forced me to hang up the phone. We walked in with little issue, roughly an hour after consuming edible marijuana. I was dazed and confused and stricken by the munchies. My friend tried to hit on the younger bartender/waitress but flopped and we were all served awful margaritas that were actually recommended by the waitress. Then, out of the kitchen came a tall, strapping dude with a curly ponytail - think Dee Snider - who angrily dismissed the two women behind the bar. Dee proceeded to go on a legendary rage. He blasted the volume to the point that conversation was incapable and started yelling at various patrons. He saluted a different large group with twin birds for no apparent reason, said "fuck you" to a few guys at the bar who cheered him before they took shots, and refilled my friend's water glass with warm vodka after he joked that it was vodka when Dee asked if it was water. The food took over hour, multiple items were missing, and my quesadilla was charred blacker than Wesley Snipes. Incredibly stoned the entire time, I approached the bar with a quarter-full beer glass to say something about the food/service/volume and was simply handed another beer. The friend who flopped with the waitress continued to flirt with her and was promptly emasculated with a barrage of foul put-downs. Afraid and too stoned to do or say anything else, we paid up and left, baffled by the entire experience. Terrible service and food but a beautiful comedy of errors.

Our new favorite place in Breck! Laid back, very casual and awesome margaritas! And an added bonus- the food is fantastic! We had the chips and salsa & blackened fish tacos. We also tried several of the home made sauces-delicious! The staff was friendly and welcoming. A great place off the beaten path! The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating of my gluten allergy. He suggested several dishes! You get your money's worth no doubt! The margaritas are strong and the food is plentiful! You can't go wrong. My only bit ofadvice... Be careful the margaritas will sneak up on you!

The food is insanely good. I'm a Mexican food snob who lives right off of Federal in Denver and I cooked for 6 years. I do know what I'm saying here. Do NOT eat anywhere else if you have only one choice while you're here. If you have more than one, save it for last. Go relleno or carnitas. O-face

Ok...I've become a fan. Cool bar and friendly people. The food was pretty good. My son and I came during early mud season for grub. Small place so the people and musak gets loud. The food was great and the cheap draft beer was awesome. Serious stomach busting quantity of food...and very good at that. We had chicken fried steak and carnitas.

Best bloodys in town! Fish tacos are the best in the world, never had a bad meal here. Be sure to check out the specials! In the summer, the upstairs patio has the best views in Breck! Mediocre service- but it's a lot of fun!

I would love to post a one star review in order to decrease the wait time, but that wouldn't be right. This is easily my favorite place in Summit or Eagle county combined - food and service are awesome. Chili Relleno special - delish. Margaritas - delish. You gotta be realistic in where you're going - peak times will be crowded and loud - just how it is - not the place for a quiet romantic dinner - not for everybody - but for me... LOVE this place.

Our family of six, four adults and two toddlers, had dinner here on July 5,, 2014 all four adults suffered from food poisoning that night and three days later two of the adults still have stomach cramps. My daughter threw up five times the night of the fifth. We consumed: a round of Margaritas, an order of vegetarian nachos, a chicken burrito, the special pear salad and the special trout salad. A sign on the door noted that the restaurant had just reopened July 1 after vacation. Maybe they forgot to buy soap for the cooks to wash with? Anyway, use extreme caution eating here. Patio flowers were beautiful!!!

Wow!! We read the reviews on Yelp and decided to give this place a try. Yeah, the decor from the outside could be a bit more inviting... We would have never walked in off the street! But thanks to Rob T's review I am so glad we went!! As reported, entree's for $11 and specials for $23. Yep, the margaritas are off the chain! We started with the mussels... One of the best mussel dishes I've ever had and we order them everywhere. I had the Seafood cioppino (fantastic) and my wife had the beef stroganoff also great. Lee Walker is one of only a few "certified" chefs in summit county, so the food is like, well,... What I would seriously call,... Fine Dining!!! Guy Fieri is going to get an email on this place!! Oh, and the other owner..., Lee's wife Debbie, what a doll! My wife and I fell in love with her! If you don't try this place it's your own fault. I've done all I can short of delivering the food to you!

Great deck with a great view. I had the tortilla soup. If you like spicy, and I do, you will really like this soup, I did. Never had it with rice, but it was very good. My wife had the fish tacos and they were great. Our son had the burrito and he did like it. One of the sauces was way too sweet, but that was just us. The reason for the 3 stars was the below average service. With only 3 tables occupied, the server was more interested in texting than serving.

It's so much fun to hang out here! Food is awesome and Lee is great! Must try fried fish, delicious! Owner is great. Baja style fish tacos were good. Poached pear salad was excellent. Waitress wasn't good but owner made it all good! Every visit was great time at this place. Definitely recommend it!

Went to this place for dinner on the advice of a friend. Loved it. First we were there for dinner, and I had the meatloaf. Awesome. Think gravy, mashed taters, and a BIG hunk of meat. Just a great comfort food kind of meal. We were there with about a dozen people, which comes close to filling the place. I heard mixed reviews about everyone elses food, so it seems it may be a little hit or miss...or people are just too damn picky... Several good beers on tap (Micro and Domestic). Jim beam special, nice. We liked it so much that we went back the next morning for a bloody mary, which someone had heard was awesome. It was....Awesome. Home made juice, not just a can of tomato juice. Generous pour of Vodka (i didn't pay attention to what because I am not a Vodka guy...) and filled with a breakfast worth of good stuff. Tomato, pepper, pickle, olive and - wait for it - BACON. GOOD BACON, thick cut and cooked to perfection.. I would give this place 3 stars as really good, but I am bumping to 4 because of one thing - the deck out back. It is big, comfortable, and views of the hills. Sitting out there having a bloody and beer on a 75 degree colorado day, not a cloud in the sky...well, for this trip they get a 4

This place is nuts. I love it. There food is top notch and get ready because they come family sized. I am not sure what their specialties are at Angel's Hollow but I am guessing mexican styled food. The fish tacos are always spot on - never too fishy of a taste and loaded with fresh veggies on top. Don't stop there - they have a pretty extensive menu. I have also tried the steak sandwich and it could have easily fed two people. Anyone who is writing that you should not eat here is wrong. The locals in Breck will tell you otherwise. Next, their drinks. The margarita is dangerously good. Strong and sweet only made with high quality liquors. Their bloody mary's are awesome as well and I've heard it's a decent place to check out some football. They have a Bears flag out front so as a loyal Green Bay fan - I avoid this place whenever our teams meet.

Almost walked out of the place when I walked in the front door. (kinda smelled a little greasy). We perched ourselves on the nice deck and had a few drinks and some chips and salsa. OMG the chips are the best I have ever had. They were homemade and yummy! On the table are about 5 different types of hot sauce. (banana, blueberry, green, peach, and BBQ). My favorite was the banana. Then we decided to order a burger and it was so juicy and you could tell the grill was well seasoned.

This place has a really great vibe. My friends and I sat at the bar, had a delicious (and strong) margarita and ordered pork carnitas. It came with a fried egg on top (my favorite) and was a huge portion. This place is highly recommended for casual and unique dining!

Very laid back and casual dive bar/ mexican resto. Margaritas are STRONG, but delicious. Was too crowded to eat here and there only seemed to be one waitress and no hostess, so I give it three stars based on the fact that there were a ton of confused people waiting around. Food looked like standard mexican faire.

We stop by Angel's Hollow absolutely every time we ski Breck - and it's always crazy delicious. It's casual enough to head to straight from the slopes and you still get fantastic food. Last week I ordered the coconut encrusted ahi tuna (the blackened fish tacos are generally my go-to). The fish is incredibly fresh, particularly for the mountains. Others had the ruby trout, carnitas, burger and tacos. I will note that the coconut tuna was really, really rich - something to watch for in general w AH if you are sensitive. ALWAYS start with the chips & guacamole. The homemade chips are unreal The SAUCES (on the table and on the food) are definitely a highlight. Be sure to try them out, he has crazy flavors like pear. The owner makes them all, he's quite the character and only increases the great ambiance. Definitely one of the best spots in Breckenridge and for sure the most unique.

Town was not very busy over the X-mas weekend so I was glad not to find any wait here last night. That's not the norm... Started off with tasty margs (kinda pricey at $9) and I enjoyed the big meatloaf with mashed potatoes for my dinner ($10.50). It was so good!!! If I had a salad or something else to start with, this dish would've fed 2 people. Instead I ate it all and rolled myself uphill with a full belly.

I'm in love with this place. Seriously. I wanted to give it a few chances to make sure it wasn't just puppy love, or a crush, or a passing phase, but now I'm sure of it. Now, fair warning, if you're visiting Breckenridge on your big fancy ski trip and want a fancy-pants dinner out, keep on walking over to Ember... However, if you want a fun, chill night with some delicious food, go to Angels Hollow. It's a pretty small space, so you're probably going to have to wait, but it's totally worth it. Okay, so the important stuf: I'm not a margarita girl, but I hear they are delish and pack a punch. Beer list is pretty good. Carnitas, fish tacos, burgers... all fantastic. (The carnitas are so good that we ordered a second order to-go after our meal last time...). Owner is awesome. Hot sauces on the table - all made by Lee (I think) and all pretty delicious. In conclusion: If you don't need white glove service, and you like delicious food, drinks, and fun people, go. Probably my favorite in Breck. Just sayin'.

This place had great Yelp reviews... so we thought we would give it a whirl... and I am so glad we did. My party enjoyed the Pork Burrito (delicious... but maybe too much pulled pork), the Fish Tacos (quite possibly the best dish ever consumed in Breck) and the Fish 'n Chips (perfectly breaded, great "chips"). The atmosphere was great which was equally matched by the exemplary customer service. In fact... as I was passing a table - I overheard one of the servers express condolences about a mishap with that tables order... the people at the table were by no means agitated - but rather caught up in the atmosphere and responded, "it's no problem". The server said "yes, it was a problem" and apologized again -- I really appreciated the pride that he expressed in making sure customers there were taking care of... last thing ---- THE MARGARITAS ARE VERY, VERY, VERY STRONG... and deeelish!

Great dive bar with a local vibe. Excellent food at a reasonable price. The margaritas are wicked strong but very tasty and handcrafted. The carnitas and shrimp/scallop tacos were both exceptional. The homemade hot sauces were also very good. Don't miss this place while you are in Breck!

This place is a hidden gem in Breckenridge. The owner is a former Hells Angel who is now a culinary trained chef. The fish tacos are awesome. The nachos are a wonderful meal. There is always an unexpected treat for a daily special. Each meal has a unique flavor created by the chef and his homemade sauces are genius. Not a trace of pre-made food coming out of this kitchen! Don't look for linen table cloths and wine glasses, though. It feels more like a local pub...in a good way

My friend and I went to Angels Hollow last night and loved it. The blackened fish tacos were the best I've had. We also really enjoyed the chips and salsa mixed with a little of their homemade hot sauce. There are 5 different varieties of hot sauce which are extremely flavorful. I liked them so much I'm bringing a couple bottles home with me. I can't write a review of this place with out commenting on the margaritas. In one word Awesome. Lee, the owner also makes a killer vodka gimlet. The best part of this place is the laid-back feel. It invites you to leave all worries and cares at the door. So if I had one place to eat the entire time I was in Breck,it would be this place!!!

I had heard/read great things about this place and my girlfriend and I were staying about two blocks away, so we were super excited to try it out. I called at 6:00pm on a Sunday night to see what time they closed since it was still a week or so before ski season really kicked off. Man, am I sorry I did. Apparently, my asking the angry-sounding woman who told me the cook had already gone home, "Oh, you're already closed?" pissed her off even more than she already was...Because rather than going with something like, "yeah, sorry, we closed up early because we didn't have much business" she opted for, "What do you expect me to do? Pay a cook to sit around and do nothing?" A little stunned, I made the even bigger mistake of asking if they would be open the next night, to which she replied, "I have no idea. But I'm not going to pay a bunch of people to sit around here and do nothing." Then I asked the dumbest question of all, "Well, what time do you usually close?" Her reply: "What do you want me to do? Try to figure out what time we closed last Monday night?" I guess she didn't realize that all I really wanted to do was to come in and spend money at her restaurant. Well, that won't be happening. Too bad, too, because we're coming back to Breck in January with 10 friends who all love to eat good food and drink great margaritas. For this seemingly-well-liked restaurant's sake, I hope they can find someone a little less hostile to answer the phone...

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. Please, if you're thinking of eating at this place, read through my review. It will save you the almost 300 dollars we wasted on our meal. We read the reviews, and decided to give this place a chance, and i WISH someone would have warned us. First of all, we had a group of 11, so we called ahead of time to see if we should make a reservation. The woman on the phone explained that they didn't take reservations, and its basically a first come first serve basis. This was fine with us. I went to ask her another question and before I could, she hung up on me! We arrived at about 8:30 (we read online they closed at 10, so we figured this would be early enough) and when we walked through the door we were greeted almost as if we were a nuisance. We sat down, placed our drink orders (which our waitress barely knew any of the liquor they had in stock.) It took a while to get our drinks, but we were patient. We finally got to ordering our food, and my fiancé and I ordered ours first. We kindly asked if they could do separate checks, and our waitress said they didn't do it. We didn't make a big deal out of it, and figured we'd just figure it out at the end. Many items we wanted were sold out, however, we still remained positive and 7 out of 9 of us ordered the dishes on the menu that were 20+ dollars. They have one menu that is basic food ranging from 8-15 dollars, and a separate menu thats more expensive. When we finally received our food, 8 of us got our food, and the other was told "she forgot to put his order in so it's going to be a little while." We all waited to eat our dishes until he received his about 15 minutes later. Let me just say, the food was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING (even though to look at, looked awesome). One of us ordered a dish that was pecan crusted chicken with mushrooms...her meal tasted like complete maple syrup. Another ordered a tuna dish with plantains, this tasted like mush with sugar sauce. I ordered a catfish dish with crab, polenta and gumbo, which was basically fish in a mess of oil and tasteless canned gumbo and polenta that tasted like air. One liked his burger (which was the cheapest of all the things we ordered, ironic.) And we liked our Wedge Salad (which was also one of the cheaper items.) 5 out of 9 of us literally took ONE BITE out of our dishes because they were that unbearable. Our waitress came by and instead of asking how our food was, asked if we wanted boxes. All of us said no. When at this point, she should have asked if we liked our food, or if we would like anything instead, she mimicked us loud enough for us to hear, making fun of us because we didn't like our food. Two girls in our group re-ordered their alcohol drinks and never received them. We eventually get our bill, which is hand-written chicken scrap. To top it off (which is not mentioned on the bill, or wasn't mentioned to us at all) a automatic gratuity was added on (40 dollars). I am a waitress and am all for automatic gratuity. But when you receive service that is absolutely disgusting, it is not acceptable. AGAIN, we didn't make a big deal out of this, and we all got a calculator out and added our dishes, drinks, tax and gratuity together for each separate bill. While doing this, our waitress (who was also the manager), was complaining to the other waitresses, as well to patrons at the bar, that we were taking forever, and they wanted to get out there. Blatantly mocking us and making us feel bad for taking our time to make sure all of our checks were right for her to ring up. When we left, we were also talked about and mocked on our way out. STILL, at this point, not one of us complained about the awful service, or horrible food. We were just trying to be the bigger person, when in reality this place deserved a wake up call. We were a group of 9 people who were in breckenridge for a whole week, and only went out to eat one night, and this was the night. We were ready to spend a lot of money, have a lot of drinks, and tip extremely well since this was our only night out. Instead we were treated like nuisances (possibly because we weren't locals, I'm still not really sure why). If this place would have treated us like deserving customers, we would have been coming back every year, telling people about the place, and even putting up a great review. If you took the time to read this, which I hope you did, please AVOID this place. Every single one of us still can't wrap our head around what happened that night. I know this review is long and everything mentioned isn't even everything that happened that night. It was that awful.

Amazing! Found this place by accident (thanks, John H), when another restaurant had a 2 hour wait. Stumble upon this place yourself and you'll be thoroughly pleased. Interesting food and a great staff!

Amazing drinks! Killer margaritas! The music is super loud and awesome! The bartender is the most bad ass dude I've met in a while and it's like a big party in a log cabin!

Very average margaritas. Below average food and poor service. They can't split checks either, Lolz! Great views though!

Smells of dank nachos right when you walk in. Hit up the house special, the margarita.. 9/10 would drink again. Ordered the pork carnitas.. Side of Guac and salsa. Delish. Sit by the window and watch the ice melt. Try all the salsas!

Dive bar... Best Quesadilla I've ever had!!! Classic Rock... Owned/rain by/bar tended by a Harley ridin Bartender. He rocks too. It's where the locals eat & have a libation. Put it on your top 5.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
