Ahh yes, the deemed "smelly deli". Don't let that scare you away though, the sandwiches here are great, I highly suggest the philly. The people that work there are friendly as well. This is a great place to cap off a night of bar hopping in Boulder.

I had been here before during the time in my life where hanging out on the hill was cool. So after a long look in the new CU coupon books, I saw one for a $5 gyro, fries and soda, sweet! So we went, and ordered the chicken gyro and were told to grab any coke or Arizona tea. We waited, and waited, it took about 18 minutes(I only know this because it's the hill and you have to keep feeding those meters). When we finally got the gyros, I was quite happy. They were nice and hit with a nice portion of fries. They transported me back to the late night snacks in European cities. It's a good deal with that coupon, and even without, a gyro is only $6. Good deal, especially if you are a person with not much disposable income(college kids), or just cheap like me.

They have great food but their ad says they deliver until 4am and they don't. This is the second time they have not had a driver to deliver this late. It is the job of the manager to substitute any neglected positions. My friends and I will not be ordering from here any more.

I love this place because you can get quick food or grab a Rockstar. The counter lady is incredibly friendly, and it seems genuine. It just feels like a place you could hang out for an hour and feel like a part of the staff. Very welcoming.

Good food, but the service is lacking. They are sometimes real quick and friendly, and then there are other times where they don't punch in your order and you wait for almost two hours before the food is delivered.

Many a mornings we ventured in for a philly accompanied with their special hot sauce, the perfect hangover cure. A staple of "The Hill" this is a must visit be it 5:30am or anytime of the day. back in the day you could buy single cigarettes for the craving.

Terrible experience here the other day. It should not take over 20 minutes to make a gyro, especially considering that only one person was ahead of me waiting for something. Besides the ridiculous wait, the meat in my gyro was old, cold, and dry. Almost don't want to ever go back...

I think this place may be open 24/7. However, it really only needs to be open from 11pm - 6am. Their gyro is a stomach lining anti-hangover miracle cure. They offer instructions on some sort of fancy wrapping paper eating technique, however, I don't recall. Stumble in, grab a gyro (w/ everything), tag the wall behind the store, and peace out.

Love this place, do not love the inconsistency of what you get for what you pay for. Keep getting the Combo Plate and it feels like i get a different thing every time i order, sometimes with grape leaves, sometimes with tabbouleh, never consistent. Could be four or five stars if they'd figure out what they wanted in their dishes! Edit: Figured it out. Don't order from here midday, wait until late, the night crew is way better with the food.

Unpleased with the edgy Cheba hut menu, I decided to walk around and stop by this place. The exterior reminded me of a bomb ass sandwich/deli shop in San Francisco, so I decided to stop in (and local is always better in my opinion). I got a 12" buffalo chicken sandwich for $8.00 and split it between my boyfriend and I. There was GTA V readily available to play too, which was funny but also kind of gross at the same time since I didn't want to imagine the grease hands touching the controller. It was kind of a wait for our sandwich as the dude's friend came by to chit chat for about 10 minutes... But the sandwich was really tasty and huge. Yum! The meat wasn't that great quality (breaded, frozen chicken with buffalo sauce) but it was still good. Gonna come back to try more.

They make pretty okay gyro and falafel wraps here. They're perfect for when you want to grab something to go but don't want to go into one of the 9364924 sandwich shops within close proximity. Yeah, I guess a gyro is technically a sandwich but it feels different in my stomach. It's the meat to bread ratio, I think. Anyway, it may be called the 'Smelly Deli' but I don't think the smell clings to your clothes any worse than any BBQ place or those Italian places whose air is 50% olive oil. Can you tell I have nothing much to say about the food? It's true. Nothing distinguishes their sandwiches from any of the other gyros or falafel wraps in Boulder. It's the same gyro meat, the same pita bread grabbed from the same mass bag, the same wilted greens. You know. One step up from fast food. Tasty if you're really hungry or drunk. But the place is open 24 hours, which automatically earns it kudos, as, I mean, what are your other options after a show at the Fox? Other options that won't end with your shoes being thrown up on, I mean? I pick the deli every time.

A.K.A. - SMELLY DELI !! I think anyone who has hung out on "The Hill" or went to school at CU Boulder knows that this place has the BEST drunk food in Boulder. Not only is this place the only mini mart in the area that is open 24/7, it serves the BEST Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches and Gyros. Come anytime after midnight and be prepared to wait in line for one of these awesome sandwiches. They also have a whole menu of other sandwiches, but the Philly and the Gyro is what bring people there. Don't wear anything nice there, because they don't call it Smelly Deli for no reason, you're going to smell like it for the rest of the night. Make sure you add Sriracha to your sandwich to add a little spicy kick to it if you can handle it. It'll definitely make your sandwich.

Smelly Deli is a lifesaver! When you're up late studying (or partying) and feel like taking a quick walk, this is the place to get your snacks. Open 24/7 and fully-stocked with everything included in the college diet, this is definitely the best place to grab munchies on the Hill.

Wish I could give my latest experience no stars.. This past week I placed a delivery order containing two shawarmas and what was supposed to be a chicken Cesar salad and a side of pita. Delivery took about an hour - which is to be expected. Upon arrival, I noticed the sanwhiches were fine, but the "Cesar Salad" that I ordered appeared to have shaved sandwhich lettuce as opposed to the standard romaine, olives (not typically found in this particular salad), and tomatoes. Clearly they gave me a greek salad, no pita, no chicken. I was just confused and thought maybe my salad went out with another order. I tried calling them back to figure out what happened.. One call - no answer. Second call - I explained what I got and this was the answer from the girl working the phone that I received: "Ummmmmmm well we don't actually put sides of pita with the salads and you're being rude"( even though I asked for it) told them i was given the wrong salad entirely and was given nothing but unapologetic attitude. As a paying customer I began to grow upset. To my surprise, this girl had the nerve to hang up on me! I called back multiple times, not to hound this twat but to receive the correct product. After muuuultiple calls I was finally able to reach a manager. His passive aggression was astounding. He said that "when the girls are given attitude on the phone they are less likely to cooperate." Then continued to give excuses as to why the salad may have been wrong (even though she read that back before she put it through our so I had thought). Turns out they have a new guy in the deli, understandable. No apology was given nothing but excuses and denial. I said nothing that warranted attitude. I was left with a bad taste in my mouth after this experience. Having been employed at quite a few beverage and hospitality restaurants in myself I have learned "the Customer is always right." I want it to be known that when the "correct order" finally arrived, the salad was prepared with breaded chicken, not the usual grilled chicken and again no romaine lettuce inside but the sandhwich lettuce. I am appauled at this display of complete disregard and respect for PAYING customers. Keep in mind, your business relies and functions and pays your wages and salaries because of your customers.

I am not one to write especially if It has to be about this place but damn. The clerk working on New Years was obviously on something. I witnessed him attack a innocent customer the second he walked into the store for no reason. He continued to not let the customer go even though he went all away across the street to get away from the bull shit. Several minutes later the clerk I guess wasn't satisfied and crossed over the street to scream in the guys face and then began to SPITTT IN HIS FACE TWICE!! wow thats some great customer service. The clerk was acting childish and as if he were a puppy sneaking up behind cops and trying to flip off the victim. It was quite comical I must say how immature the man working was. I have never had a bad experience until last night and I cant say i'm stoked on going to smelly deli again. The man deserves/will to be fired to say the least. Once videos are pulled the man will probably actually end up facing criminal charges.
