You have to be really good to bring me out of my Yelping retirement. And to have me posting the review before we've left. We headed here based on reviews from you fine people and you certainly didn't let us down. Our goal was to fill up before our rafting trip and that goal was definitely achieved. I had the Migas Quattro Queso. Holy amazing - perfect amount of spice and zing paired with delicious cheese and green chili sauce. Best Migas I have ever had...and we lived in San Antonio for three years so that is saying a lot. The other three in our group were so happy with their choices as well. Katie was our server and she has a huge personality, awesome sense of humor and took great care of us. Sit outside on the patio and stare at the amazing scenery. You won't be disappointed.
A good breakfast spot, and you'll get a decent variety of food. I tend to like the basics, which is eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and bacon as a combo. The food is good, but I felt the people at Village Coffee did the same meal much better. Both my girlfriend and I felt our meals were a bit greasier (and not in a good way) than at Village Coffee. However, this place is good, and the seating is awesome when the weather is good. Definitely sit outside and enjoy it. My rating might be a little unfair, but I keep comparing my experience at Village Coffee. I just felt the experience was better over there. Regardless of distance or where you're coming from, expect a decent meal here. Just know that you could get a better one a mere 2 miles away!!!! Service is fine, but be aware that you have to pay at the register. Don't just sit around waiting for something to happen once you get the bill. Service is friendly. Parking is easy. Multiple spots for a decent sized lot.

The Good: One of my favorite breakfast diners in Boulder. A locals' favorite tucked away off the beaten path, the Parkway is a low-key but bustling breakfast joint where you can count on getting your coffee fast (and refilled!) and enjoy a tasty, affordable American breakfast without fuss. The Bad: Nothing really! The Food: Classic, simple diner food done right. Awesome Mexican-inspired specials. The Service: Fast, friendly, efficient service. Knowledgable about the menu & specials. Coffee refilled constantly (yay!) Overall: The Parkway is the place to go for a classic American breakfast that won't break the bank. If you want to drink mimosas, eat fancy expensive food and wait an hour, go elsewhere!

This is a little establishment, tucked away from the bustle of downtown Boulder, situated next to a couple of auto-repair (auto-detailing?) shops. The trick to Parkway is quite simple. You walk in. You choose a seat. A very helpful server comes by your way. You order (a black coffee and a Denver Omelette - sides of green chile and hash browns). You get your food in less than 13 minutes. You eat until you're stuffed (80% of the large omelette, all the hash browns, and two cups of coffee). You pay and you leave. I really loved the green chile and the hash browns were super crispy on the outside, all potato-ey and soft underneath. And the omelette was pretty stellar, too. It was glorious.

What a gem! Definitely diner-esque with a Mexican flare. I had the Migas quatro Quesos and I can't say enough great things about it. Love the cheeses, salsa, tortilla chips, eggs, and all! It had a nice spice to it, but not too much. I got the parkway potatoes on the side. They were good, but nothing super special. The service is fast and friendly.

A diamond in the rough! Tucked away in an industrial part of Boulder sits the Parkway Cafe. Their menu boasts traditional breakfast and brunch eats as well as some Mexican choices. I had the breakfast enchiladas and they were TDF! Fresh, fluffy eggs cooked with green peppers and onions, then stuffed into a pillowy corn tortilla. Yes, pillowy! Not dry and crumbly like corn tortillas are known to be. The green chili was fabulous and I couldn't decide whether to drink it or smother it over my entire plate. The Parkway potatoes were seasoned and cooked to perfection and the refried beans just the right touch to complete the dish. The only thing that wasn't spectacular was the coffee but it was on par with what you usually get in a diner. I will remember this place the next time I find myself in Boulder for breakfast!

I love this little Southwest American diner. No frills. Just damn good breakfast and the servers are friendly.

Great breakfast completely off the beaten path. Cozy, and comfortable. Takes some hunting to get here, but worth the effort. Piping hot and good portions.

Best breakfast in town! Good food and very reasonable. Rarely a wait and good service too!! Only complaint is they are always out of strawberry jam in there smuckers holders because it's the one everyone wants.

Thumbs up and great food, atmosphere, friendliness felt all the way through. I am willing to come back here everyday for breakfast/brunch! When there is carnitas hash as special, and pancakes in short stack, it is an awesome place!

I lost a little bit of faith in Yelpers that gave this place such solud reviews. The food: good enough. I feel like that explains it perfectly: it is good but certainly not a place Ill come back to. Mostly becausr the service was terrible. One of us had food come 5 mins after everyone else and incorrectly. The service is lackluster all around, watery coffee and no booze. I think this should mean a lot because I just finished doing and Olympic Triathlon and would have eaten a cardboard box.

Thanks to my fellow yelpers I found a really good breakfast/brunch spot. I arrived about 1 PM and found a spot on the patio to enjoy the great weather. I had the breakfast burrito covered with green chili and it was so good, the green chili is not that hot but has a good taste. The burrito is a good size and it really hit the spot since I hadn't had breakfast. The service was attentive without being bothersome and plenty of pleasant attitudes and smiles from the staff. I will be back to enjoy another breakfast burrito when I happen to be in Boulder on a Saturday. They close at 2 PM on Saturdays so get there early.

Yum!! This place defiantly hit the spot! Boyfriend got the giant burrito, which was delicious. The patty melt was great as well. Would recommend this place- great diner style food, good prices too!

The only place other than starbucks that opens before 7am on a weekday. I ordered a egg and cheese with tomato on croissant and have no complaints. The pancakes here are huge, so if you order one as a side as part of their breakfast options, you are warned. Great little place, thanks to fellow yelpers for helping me find it!

If you like a mildly spicy breakfast order anything with the verde chili sauce and you won't be disappointed. Their lattes are good too!

Classic local diner kinda place. Coffee ain't Peet's but above average trick stop blend. The pancakes rock. The huevos is my favorite. The breakfast burrito is above average and large. Main thing here is the service. Fast. Pleasant. Love it. Oh, and it's a clean joint too.

Crazy crowds at a couple of Denver breakfast hot spots chased us all the way to Boulder. We looked up this joint and loved the off-the-beaten-path location. The Boulder Omlet with avocado was insane... I could've eaten that all day and will be back to eat it again someday. The biscuits and gravy were pretty standard, as were the corned beef hash. Service was relaxed and attentive. The biscuits and gravy were pretty standard, as was the corned beef hash. Service was relaxed and attentive.

So Eddie and I share whenever we go to restaurants because both our tummies have shrunk since we don't eat 3 double cheeseburgers each anymore (way cheaper too). Our NOMS from here: Quatro queso breakfast : 4 cheeses, chorizo, tortilla chips, and a side of parkway potatoes. We had leftovers too. Freaking delicious. Service was quick, and the staff was friendly. We will definitely be going back.

Really great diner in Boulder! I had an omelet with cheese, onions, green pepper, and mushrooms. It came with hash browns and toast. Everything was great! I particularly enjoyed the hash browns, which were crunchy and delicious. The service was friendly. The atmosphere was your typical no frills diner. The prices were so cheap! Next time when I'm a little hungrier, I have my mind on their banana French toast. Short and sweet - this place has good diner food at really great prices. Check it out!

This out-of-the-way breakfast and brunch spot was recommended by our hotel concierge as a great locally-owned restaurant. It's in an old building at the end of an industrial park, and has a steady local clientele. It reminds me of Austin's iconic Omelettry, except the layout is more open and airy and there's a sweet dining porch. And there's Tex-Mex on the menu. Oh yes, we ate here more than once, and we'll do it again. The menu sports a variety of egg and pancake breakfasts, including multiple varieties of omelets (I had the Boulder: spinach and mushroom with cheese topped with Hollandaise). There are sandwiches, enchiladas, something they call a "breakfast enchilada" which is really a breakfast taco, and fresh fruit. They serve their breakfast menu through lunch. You could eat here several days a week and never get bored. Staff is friendly and experienced. Prices are very reasonable. Hard to find little gem. Use the directions app on Yelp or your GPS.

Went here because of the positive reviews - I hope my experience was an anomaly, but I won't be coming back. Delightful waitress; rest of staff seemed like new hires that didn't quite understand customer service. Omelette and hash browns were uninspired, flavorless, and burnt. Ordered iced coffee, black, which also tasted quite burnt (I drink black iced coffee all the time - it's supposed to taste bitter, but this was definitely burnt). My candid opinion- I really do hope other people have a better experience here.

Tucked away next to an auto body shop West side of Pearl street the place was crowded at 9:15am on a Thursday and for good reason. What a gem. You are greeted by a welcome sign in multiple languages and a friendly staff. We seated ourselves. They brought water and menus immediately. The waitress came right away to take our order. I ordered a breakfast favorite Migas Custros Quesos for $9.25 a combination of scrambled eggs with chorizo tortilla chips, green chilli, mozzarella, cheddar-jack and Quesos fresco served with one breakfast side. When I was concerned about finishing it the waitress offered to change it to a half order! So cool! My mom ordered from the Breakfast Your Way menu 2 eggs and toast $4.50. The food arrived hot and delicious in about 5 minutes to our table. The food was just the right about of spice -- hot but not overwhelming and great flavor!

Very efficient and no-nonsense service as well as tasty dishes. Many days, it's pretty packed though the staff does their best to fill and serve their tables. I'm not sure on the quality of their ingredients but the final product is tasty!

Judi's first new knee staple free breakfast hurrah . We be at one of out fav morning places. Great breakfast all the time, and the service can't be beat, it also has a great outdoor patio

Someone else said that every city needs one of these places, I agree. It's your basic all-American breakfast place! And by the people you'll see eating there, it just might be true. Nothing special here, except that it's exactly what you think it is! Classic breakfasts with a good mix of mexican choices thrown in. If you're tired of the upscale, Patagonia dress code, overfull Boulder eating establishment, come over here! Don't look for organic, local, Omega-3, just order and eat it. Enjoy! Five stars simply because of it's contrast with Boulder and simplicity of design.

Stopped in while my buddy was standing in line at the DMV. Service was fast and friendly. I wasn't too impressed with the coffee, it wasn't bad just standard cafe Java. I had a quatro queso dish that had eggs, chorizo, tortilla chips crushed in it and some sauce in addition to the 4 cheeses. It was pretty dang tasty. Side of refried beans. My buddy got the breakfast burrito which he enjoyed as well. About $12/person not including tip.

This place is awesome. The people who give it a bad review because of the service must be impossible to please. I've eaten here several times and for how busy they get, I think the servers and bussers keep up just fine. Some people have left bad reviews saying they waited long for a table or were sat by someone who seemed frazzled. But they don't have a host stand and it's seat-yourself, so those people are idiots. Some people said they have bad diner food... bad DINER food... those people are also idiots. If you're not an idiot, you will love this place!

Rolling through town on the way back to Denver and luckily took to yelp to find breakfast. This place is really good, I wish they had one in Vegas. Solid service and food with a lot of flavor. Patio is great for chilling. Enjoy!

This place is a gem in Boulder, tucked in an industrial/automotive park it offers a super affordable breakfast with a shorter wait than most places in town on a Saturday morning. All the dishes featuring a green chili are amazing! Friendly staff makes the morning a delight.

Pretty average breakfast place. Definitely a local hot spot and low price greasy spoon. For serving Ozo coffee, it was brewed pretty weak.

Definitely off the beaten path, but packed (had to wait for a seat yourself and they were turning tables like crazy). Completely worth the drive. Excellent enchiladas with green chile sauce. I honestly don't know if I want Mexican where I live anymore after eating this. It was that good, like tex mex should taste! I grew up on Texas and this was like home. All of the menu items (breakfast and lunch/brunch) looked good, I wish I lived closer to try other items. I had a beef and a cheese enchilada with the chile sauce vs red sauce, perfection! Why Guy Fieri hasn't been here is beyond me! Perfect diner for Triple D!

Came here while in Boulder with my friend. We chose it based on yelp! reviews and we were not disappointed in the least! Thank you Yelp!!!! I ordered the Mexican Breakfast and it was soooooo good. I practically licked my plate. Perfectly cooked eggs, delicious salsa, so comforting. I ate the whole thing because I just couldn't help myself. My friend ordered the blueberry pancakes and she was very happy too. I took a bite and they were delicious. Our waitress was awesome. We told her we were from out of town and she gave us a bunch of tips...and then went and asked around to get us even more information! Great service too. If you come here looking for a fancy place, you will be disappointed. It is not fancy, but it IS great food, warm people, classic diner breakfast place. You could walk in to here in your PJs looking like crap and they would smile, seat you, pour you some coffee, and give you excellent food. Note: IT IS off the beaten path. We passed it once before finding it. It is kinda in an industrial area. Put the address in your phone or GPS and go on an adventure for good food!

Ordinarily I absolutely love this place, love the burritos. Today I sat and waited for 15 minutes for service, I got a water, and ignored. I even made eye contact with the waitress that she delivered the food on the table next to me, there were only about 10 tables occupied. so I called and asked to talk to the manager, to politely complain. After waiting for 30 seconds I could hear somebody pick up the phone and they hung up on me. Ken Hutchison 303-809-5345

What a find! Somewhat obscure location (for Boulder that means neither on Pearl Street pedestrian mall nor adjacent to campus), but amazing food. Had carnitas tacos that were the best I've ever tasted. Pleasant outdoor dining area is a real plus.

Great food, great portion size, waitress was very nice, good pricing. I got a short stack and an omelette and was stuffed afterwards. One or the other would have probably even been sufficient.

There wasn't much not to love about Parkway. So what if it's located in the middle of a high density of body shops, mechanics, tire shops, light manufacturing outfits, window repair dudes and car dealers? The food was solid, it's in a very convenient location, seating and parking were both plentiful, the service was excellent, and did I mention that the food was solid?? I don't know how long Parkway has been in business, but I can't believe that I didn't know about it until this week. Check it out....it's a great lunch option in an area deficient in lunch options!

After two visits to the Parkway, this is one of my new favorite breakfast spots. While the menu contains all of your standard breakfast items, it's the specials that always distract me from what I was originally planning to order. The Parkway is a no frills kind of joint with friendly servers and a nice size patio for warmer weather. The first time I was lured in by the special of the day was when they had Mexican Ravioli. I wasn't sure what how the ravioli was going to be prepared, was it like Italian ravioli? It ended up being something like small empanadas filled with chorizo and cotija cheese. They were served on top of refried beans with eggs on the side and a tangy tomatillo sauce. Flavorful grape tomatoes were halved and decorated the top. Surprisingly delicious! The second time I thought I was set on an omelet but the waitress tells us about some pumpkin pancakes topped with cinnamon apples and a plate of breakfast arepas. Arepas filled with black forest sausage, cheese, tomatillo sauce with spicy fingerling potatoes alongside and eggs. I couldn't resist. The portions are large so if you don't normally eat a lot, there's plenty to share with someone else or to take home for a later meal. Arrive early if you're hungry and don't want to wait for a seat!

A Boulder institution - great value for a hearty breakfast or lunch. Terrific service, wait staff is very personable...particularly if you are a regular. Decor is total 1980s with butcher block tables and wood paneling. What they don't have in decor, they make up with great cookin and great service.

I love this place. It's far enough out that most people overlook this gem, but once you find it, man, you won't regret stopping in. I haven't ventured with their menu much, but their scrambles are something else. I don't think I have ever had one quite as good as theirs. I only wish they had more seating and were open longer hours. We are a younger couple and look to be close to college age. This place doesn't get a lot of people our age so we get looked at a lot which can be a bit uncomfortable. I would assume they think we're some dumb hungover college kids, which I can assure you, we are definitely not. That's not their fault, though. But we definitely are a little cautious about going there. My only true gripe about this place is the way they treat the men that aren't regulars. My husband isn't a huge fan of them. The staff has a tendency to ignore the male gender. They're always super nice to me but then ignore my husband almost entirely. There's some sort of girl power thing going on there that makes them always hand me the check instead of just leaving it on the table. We've actually stopped going now that we live in Longmont. It's not worth it to us to drive all the way there to watch them not say a word to my husband. It's not the first time I've heard this either. I actually had a friend who has a ton of restaurant experience that felt like he didn't get the job because he was a guy. The entire wait staff are women and the only men you see are in the back cooking. Some people might call it "traditional," but it just seems a little off to me.

Breakfast Items: 5+ stars Latin American Lunch Items: 5 stars Traditional Lunch Items: 3.5 to 4 stars (1/20/2015 addendum: do NOT get a burger here. Recently had a burger, and it was one of the worst I've ever gotten in a restaurant, no exaggeration. But I'm leaving the rating at 5 stars because nearly everything else is so freakin' good.) The Latin American food served here is simply fantastic. (It may or may not be authentic LA. I'm simply referring to it this way to distinguish it from the regular ol' American fare.) Not only is it freshly prepared, but it's nearly perfect. And, really, sometimes actually perfect. The migas are one of the best breakfast items I have ever had, any time, anywhere. So freakin' fantastic. If you've never had migas before, GET THEM HERE! I could eat that plate of food for breakfast every morning for the rest of my life. With the migas (as with many other items), you get to choose one side item (from a long list of tasty choices). I've chosen the Parkway Potatoes. They are smallish potatoes that have been sliced and sauteed in a little oil with some herbs. Doesn't sound particularly delicious, but let me tell you, they are. And not only are they tasty, but they actually seem to have been cooked to order, not pre-cooked and left to sit in a warmer. How many places do that, ever? Another example: the carnitas Macho Burrito. Ridiculously good. Many places now call all pork carnitas, even if it isn't carnitas. This burrito was stuffed with real carnitas. The genuine article. Ahhhh...... I was expecting that, like the burritos at most places, this burrito would be filled with some meat, but also with rice and/or beans. Wrong. The entire interior of the burrito was filled with nothing but some of the best carnitas that I've ever had. Probably at least 8 ounces. And the burrito was topped with cheese (but not too much), as well as with a slight spicy green chili sauce. Beyond heavenly. And the accompanying rice and beans on the side? Fantastic. The beans were perfect (and I am a bean afficianado, so have high standards). And the rice? It was the (seemingly) typical orangish white rice that always can be found in Mexican restaurants. However, unlike the overcooked mushy and bland rice that is usually served, this rice was actually quite nice. Parkway also serves all of the traditional American breakfast and lunch options. These all tend to be quite good, though the lunch items don't necessarily reach the level of perfection previously mentioned. But, still, this place is far better than most. And consistently good. We always know that we'll get a good meal. The service has always been good. The servers are pleasant and efficient. This is the kind of place in which they never allow a cup of coffee to go empty. If you like traditional breakfast and lunch fare, or those items with a twist, you must give this place a try.

Good food, big portions and decent service. The service is best before you get the food. Right after you get the food they drop off the bill and you don't see the waitress again. I got the breakfast sandwich on croissant and my husband got the hobo omelet with corn beef hash. Both huge portions and seem like fresh ingredients! We will come back.

Went here because of all the highly rated yelp reviews. Food was ok , service was pretty slow and made mistakes with my order and my friends order, which lead to additional waiting time. I ordered the breakfast your way biscuits no gravy with over hard eggs. My friend ordered pancakes with hash browns. I don't believe I will be returning here.

I've been here with my parents and grandparents a couple times now for brunch. It can be hard to find seating for a large group (8 people), but we have managed to make it work. The food is good. The coffee is mediocre. I've enjoyed going here and would be willing to do so again.

I really like using Yelp for finding a good Wednesday team lunch location and this one was about as good as it can get. We were greeted immediately and invited to sit wherever we liked. Our waitress was spot on, gave us menus and asked us all right away if we would like anything to drink, coke, tea. Then she was right back with water and gave us the specials, why bother reading the menu. Pork tamale omelet with re-fried beans rice guac etc. or grilled chicken sandwich w/bacon, guac, lettuce, tomato and some special sauce I am sure they made in house on jalapeno corn bread. And yes I spelled that right, it was "bread". Not the traditional cornbread you would think. 5 of us in the group, 1 ordered off the menu, he loves his breakfast for lunch. 3 of us had the tamale omelet and 1 had the chicken sandwich special. I swear, we had our lunch in less than 5 minutes, and all fresh. Next time I'm going to time them, for fun and curiosity. I will be posting a picture of the tamale omelet, so good! All of it was very good and good portions. We all agreed we will be back, and back again, and back again...

Once you discover this place, you'll never go anywhere else for breakfast in Boulder. Everything I've ever had here is delicious and cheap! Melissa is an amazing waitress and all the other servers, although not as bubbly as Melissa are just as efficient and attentive. I currently live in Georgia and often reminisce the green chili on the Mexican breakfast!

Awesome Mexican breakfast. Just for giggles we also ordered steak street tacos. They were amazing. The prices were super low.

The Parkway serves a great breakfast! I had the breakfast burrito it was exactly as described, expertly prepared and very flavorful and generously sized without being too heavy as some are. The coffee was good. The staff was attentive and friendly without hovering. The Parkway opens early which is helpful if you have to get to work. It seemed that most of the customers were regulars which is a good sign. I will certainly be one whenever I get to Boulder!

The guy that sat us was obviously quite sick (sniffling and wiping his nose as he handed us menus), and we weren't sure whether or not he was a busboy or a waiter because no one came back to take our order for quite some time. The outside sitting area was nice, but the table next to us just happened to be quite obnoxious and had a dog that kept trying to beg from surrounding tables (this was not the restaurants fault, but it needed to be said). After finally having our order taken from the waitress (whom I flagged down after getting very impatient and hangry, and to her credit seemed like a nice girl), we looked over and saw the sick guy and another employee trading hits on a cigarette just outside the fence of the back patio. I personally thought it looked unprofessional and added to my agitation. The food arrived and my girlfriend received gravy when she had asked to have it excluded. My food was pretty decent, although my pancakes were slightly burnt. They forgot to bring me syrup with my pancakes, which is damn near criminal, and I had to ask twice for ketchup. My girlfriend complained of a stomach ache when we got home, so that's no good. I heard the guy sitting next to us say that he got his food before he got his silverware. Overall I was glad to get out of there. The service was awful apart from the waitress seeming nice and the food was nothing to write home about. I don't see myself going back there again. Yikes.

You probably will not just drive by and find this place. It's tucked away behind an auto body shop. But dear god it's worth finding it! Great American dinner food right out of 1956. Food is the way wish dinner food would be and the service it always great. Do your mouth a favor!

Great brunch diner food with a mexican food spin. Never a long wait (if there is a wait at all) and always fast service. A hidden gem in Boulder!

The food here is delicious and the prices are reasonable. The portions are very large too, so you get a lot for your money. I'm only giving this restaurant 4 stars because the waffles weren't crispy and the green chili wasn't as spicy as I'd hoped (their homemade hot sauce was pretty good), but the taste was still there.
(4)
Amy O.
I'm baffled that this place has 4.5 stars! Is it because of the breakfast here? I ordered lunch and it was not great. My BLT just felt so greasy and mayonnaise-y. The salad that I opted for instead of fries was pretty lame too. But, if you're in the area, there's not much else to eat. So if you're stranded at least you could eat something.

I love this place. The good is always very good and perhaps the best value you can find in the Boulder area. I've only had breakfast/brunch here, and the Mexican breakfast is really tasty and only $5. The specials are also very good.

How did it take me three and a half years to find this gem?! The parkway restaurant is a true "greasy spoon" diner without the grease. It is everything I look for in a diner including a varied menu, fantastic, fast service and delicious food. I had the quatro queso- eggs with tortilla, chorizo, cheese and green chile with their house home fried potatoes. It was top notch!! Perfectly portioned to be very filling without and wasted leftovers. The home fries were good and I would get them again but I do prefer more onion and paprika with a bit less oil. Next time, I will try the hash browns. My husband got the burger. It was exactly what you want in a diner burger with thinner crispy patty and soft sesame roll. The fries were AMAZING!!! Really crispy and flavorful! Best fries in boulder hands down!!! I am really looking forward to many more visits to this fantastic place!

Mark B.
The only reason I am giving this four stars is because the incredible reviews on this place over sell the location and the business. This is a diner! And its not anywhere near the walking mall part of pearl street! That being said, the food is awesome, and the service superb. They sell boulder born coffee and the prices of everything are fair. So other than the location and the over estimation of the digs, the parkway restaurant is the epitome of what one should expect in a breakfast, brunch, lunch diner.

There should be a breakfast place like this in every city. That said, if you moved to Boulder in the last 10 years for the lifestyle or may have gluten issues don't come here. Some of us still have souls. Also the staff here is very friendly and accommodating with the older/special needs clientele that comes in.

I think we decided to come here based on yelp reviews and I'm so glad we did!! I got the Migas Quatro Quesos and DIED OF DELICIOUSNESS! So much amazing flavor! You may be hesitant when you drive up as it is in what looks to be a bit of an industrial area, but give it a chance. Not much else on the menu wowed me and the potatoes that everyone raved about were just so-so in my opinion. But the Migas Quatro Quesos is the way to go! It's a bit quaint inside and seems to have regular clientele. I definitely recommend!

I've lived in Boulder for 7 years and just today discovered this restaurant thanks to Yelp. It's hidden in the most unlikely of places, way out east in an industrial park crammed next to an auto shop. You'll never stumble upon it, and that's a shame. This place is best described as Boulder meets Greasy Spoon, an intersection of concepts that may be difficult to imagine. The food is very good, all being homemade, and is creative without the pretentiousness that sometimes comes with Boulder restaurants. Breakfast and brunch is their thing and they do it well. You can get a classic American style breakfast with eggs and bacon, a more Mexican/Southwest style breakfast, or the best waffles I've ever come across. As far as service, it's classic Greasy Spoon friendliness and speedy service with a hint of Boulder Hippie evident in less-than-conservative dress and attitude. It's probably the only place in Boulder I've regularly been called "sweetie" and "sugar." I gave it five stars not because it's one of my all-time favorite restaurants, but because it's as good as it gets for this restaurant genre. If you're looking for upscale, vegan, trendy or other more classically Boulder restaurants, look elsewhere. If you're looking for relatively inexpensive, unpretentious, genuinely tasty diner food with a creative twist and great, classic service, this is the place you're looking for.

We were looking for a great breakfast in Boulder. First place had a 45 min wait so we looked further and ended up at the parkway. Excellent breakfast... Nothing crazy but very good good. Hash browns, pancakes were excellent. Don't hesitate to check it out. Service was fast and excellent.

A great hole in the wall breakfast restaurant, definitely recommend a try if you are in the area and are looking for somewhere to eat early in the morning

I've been going to the Parkway with my grandparents before it was even called the Parkway. This little diner has consistently had great food and very friendly wait staff for well over 10 years! Most recently I had the Denver Omelette and for my 2 sides had hash browns and the dollar pancakes. It was so much food that my wife and I ended up splitting a small lunch 4 hours later because neither of us were hungry enough for a full lunch. The omelette tasted great as did everything else! There is a reason my grandparents have been going here multiple times a week for as long as I can remember. Great food. Good prices. Huge portions. Friendly home feeling atmosphere.

I worked right down the street from this place for 2 years and never stopped in. I'm not sure why. I mean, it looks really seedy on the outside, but places looking really seedy never stopped me before. In fact, that usually makes me more likely to go in. So I'm not sure what was up with that, but I righted that wrong today with a half order of biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs over easy and green chile. That order was perfect for my indecisiveness - I went there for green chile, but felt like biscuits and gravy. Actually, the whole menu is perfect for anyone's indecisiveness. You can pretty much get any combination of any breakfast type foods you like for ridiculously cheap. They list some meals, but half the menu's just side orders you can combine in creative ways. My particular combination was $6, and it was good. I wouldn't say that any of it was great - Santiago's green chile would win by KO, for example - but it hit the spot, and didn't need me to dump hot sauce on it or anything. They cooked the eggs right, there was enough chile in the bowl, and the gravy had big chunks of sausage. Also, the blueberry pancakes were delicious (didn't order them, but stole a fair number of bites). The restaurant wouldn't be out of place at a truck stop (this is a compliment).

Great food! I love green chilies and the green chile sauce here is great. I had the Mexican breakfast: two eggs with green chili sauce and cheese over hashbrowns. Great. Good price also. Very friendly staff.

I came here because of the reviews. Unfortunately I left disappointed. Blueberry pancakes were so bland that I couldn't taste the blueberries or any flavor. I added more butter but even the butter had no flavor. And the syrup tasted watered down. I got a dirty water glass. Service was average. Took a while to get a waitress' attention. The breakfast burritos was also bland. Needed salt or something. Just was edible but nothing worth going back for. I'm gonna go back to Lucille's. Even tho they are more expensive, at least the food is good and I don't feel like I'm dining in a one step up from a trucker stop.

I was visiting Boulder, and decided I needed a bite before attempting Chatauqua. Based on the reviews, I decided to come to this place; I got the Mexican breakfast with a side of corned beef. And man, it was delicious. The hash browns were crispy and flavorful, and the green chili, cheese and eggs on top were all very well done. The corned beef, while it didn't look very appetizing, really hit the spot too. Friendly servers, and nice warm atmosphere. Would definitely go back if I visit Boulder again!

Came here around brunch time on a weekend for the first time a week ago. Normally we go to walnut cafe or the buff but the wait for those places is outrageous. There were a good number of people having brunch here, most of the tables were full but the best part was no wait and super fast food!! It was still delicious and we will definitely come back.

The Parkway Cafe says that it's the best kept secret in Boulder and I'd have to agree. You owe it to yourself to grab a quick breakfast here. The menu is massive and everything is very well priced...borderline cheap even for the amount of food you get. I ordered the Denver omelette with Parkway Potatoes and sausage links. The omelette looked like something out of a textbook: perfection. I'd pass on the sausage links though. Sausage is by definition a combination of questionable meat but these links took that definition to a whole new level... Make sure to use douse whatever you order with their unmarked hot sauce. (I think they use The Motherload hot sauce)

Great food for a great price! Staff was very friendly too. I really liked the atmosphere with all of the regulars being called by name. We'll be back!

Loved it, one of the few places in Boulder where they got all the things I ordered right (and I don't have complicated orders), the food was great, and also unique in Boulder, it wasn't overpriced. Definitely will be going back.
(5)
Leith S.
This place is great. Service was amazing, super friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and the breakfast options are very wide. There is a "build your own breakfast" page where you can mix eggs, sides and everything else however you want it on the plate. Love it. Outdoor seating is fabulous if the weather is right. I particularly like that it is one of the few breakfast places which doesn't have a line on weekends!

Stayed at the Marriott Courtyard recently, and had to be at CU by 7am....but the breakfast at courtyard didn't start until 6:30, which would be cutting it close...what to do ? So I yelped, and found the Parkway opened earlier, and was 5 minutes away. Perfect ! Good, quick breakfast for three of us, from Oatmeal, to egg white breakfast sandwich, to traditional bacon and eggs. The next day, stopped for lunch on the way to AAA storage, and had really good burgers, reasonably priced. We will definitely be back !

While located in some weird industrial alley, the food was what I expected from a local greasy spoon. The staff was friendly and overall a great experience.

My husband and I had a great breakfast! The service was friendly and quick, the food was great. I had the breakfast enchiladas - the green chili had good flavor some heat but not too much. My husband had the chicken fried steak - with a side of green chili to top the potatoes. We will defiantly be back.

Yelp helped us find this very cool little breakfast place tucked in an industrial center east of downtown Boulder. Never would have found it otherwise. The reviewers were spot on. The place serves a solid breakfast. Blueberry pancakes were great, potatoes were too, bacon was crisp and the few bites of corned beef hash I had (from my wife's plate) were delicious. Coffee was hot and tasty. This was a perfect place to start our day ... check it out sometime.

Rob D.
We go here EVERY weekend. It is my absolute favorite in Boulder County. This place really nails breakfast, it is consistently good food, the staff are all super friendly, and you always know what you'll get. Please don't come here though because I love never having to wait for a table :)

We came here because we were a bit early for a brewery tour and wanted to get some food. The two of us not being able to make a decision, and not knowing Boulder, I left it in the hands of my GPS. I found this diner and chose it based on location to where we were only. I'm so thankful I did too. This is one of those out of the way places that you don't expect to find that is absolutely delicious. The food portions are decent size, they serve breakfast all day, and they even had vegetarian options for my girlfriend. The wait staff was friendly and efficient, and the place was bigger than it looks on the outside. It's a bit tricky to find, being tucked away in a place that has an auto shop right there. If you're in the Boulder area and looking for inexpensive and good food, go check out Parkway.
(5)
Phil G.
Hidden behind some auto repair and parts shops, this little cafe seems to have a dedicated group of regulars that enjoy the good food and cozy atmosphere. There is no sign-in sheet so when it gets busy be sure to stay in line. After placing an order the food arilrives quickly and is quite good. Also, the prices are very reasonable for a restaurant within the Boulder city limits. If you are staying nearby at the Courtyard Marriott, do yourself a favor and skip the $7 muffin at the hotel bistro and head over here instead.

The service is excellent. I believe our waitress's names was Melissa. She was so passionate and knowledgable. You can tell she loves what she does by the way she carries herself and handles others. The food was excellent! The BLT, Turkey Avocado melt, the Biscuits & gravy, & their breakfast plates & pancakes is what we ordered. The green chile and hollandaise was also to die for. So much food for a great price. I've read in other reviews that it's boulders best kept secret & it's true! It's a bit hidden but most definitely worth the find. Keep up the amazing job guys!

We'll be back! Tried this just the other day, and WOW, excellent brunch! There were 8 of us eating, and we all tried different things. Every plate was good. Food was hot, fresh and plentiful. Always nice to know a new spot in Boulder with great food!
(4)
Carrie O.
Their pancakes are wonderful! The reviews don't lie! I had mine plain (no blueberries), but my MIL had hers with blueberries and said they were quite good. This place is pretty tucked away, so I'm glad Yelp alerted me as to its presence! Definitely a spot we'll re-visit on our next trek to Boulder. :)

Great place for basic diner food and environment on Sunday mornings. Lots of choices, all good, and the specials are usually really special and unique. The service is fantastic and you are never rushed the way you are in other Boulder restaurants. Lots of 'regulars' go here for a reason. Essentially, this is a great neighborhood restaurant. My only complaint is the coffee is way too weak.

Megan S.
One of the best breakfast places in Boulder! No frills decor, quick friendly service, & consistently tasty breakfast food. Love the hashbrowns!

FIND IT! It's close-in and worth visiting the "repair district" Parkway has he best good ole fashioned yet up to the moment breakfast in Boulder! If I weren't so addicted to the Huevos rancheros (amazing green chili!) I'd go for the Boulder omelet with its generous amount of spinach and fresh veges... really food worth drooling over! The hidden location keeps it busy without standing in lines. I always get the breakfast, so can't review the lunches; but I think anything they serve with the green chili must be good!

I recently ate here while working with a client nearby. Despite arriving well after 1:00, it was quite busy. Nevertheless, we were quickly seated. They menu is fairly extensive with the usual diner-type items. I had a pastrami sandwich, which was well prepared and generously sized. People here are friendly and the restaurant seems to be well-run. It's near a few places I visit regularly...a couple of clients and Boulder Toyota...so I'll be back here often.

Along the road to the wonderful center for hard-to-recycle materials is a breakfast and lunch restaurant that's been in Boulder for many years. They have reasonable prices and serve good food. You know me...I stick with stuff I like, and at the Parkway I just love the blueberry pancakes. The last time I had breakfast here, I enjoyed an omelette with green chiles and cheddar, accompanied by a decent fresh fruit cup and blueberry pancakes, and it was $6.25 for everything. It seemed like a good deal to me. Good pancakes, good syrup, good omelettes, and I have never tried any of their lunch offerings. Friendly and efficient service too. They've got all the meat ingredients too...I just don't always talk about that. For those of you who like to try new "greasy spoons", you would probably like it, although nothing they serve is greasy, of course. :)

The Parkway Cafe is so awesome! It's some of the best hangover food in town and well worth the drive from anywhere you might be in Boulder. (we drive all the way across town :) I particularly like the American classic diner feel. It's like getting out of Boulder for a minute...Not upscale, but super delicious food. I highly recommend the Mexican Hashbrowns. I get mine with hashbrowns instead of potatoes and sausage added. Absolutely the BOMB! enjoy it!

I've been going here for years. They serve consistently good food. I especially like the jalapeno burger, the club sandwich and their pancakes. They have great specials for their Sunday brunch, often involving their great green chili. The wait staff is fast, professional and friendly (a tough combination) and they stay around for a long time, indicating that it is a good place to work.

Wow, in a world where location matters, Parkway is the most disadvantaged restaurant in human history. They are buried in an industrial part of town on the end cap of a building that houses a body-shop and auto parts store. There's no way you stumble on this place during your Saturday afternoon outing with your family. So, how does a family restaurant stay in business in this location? The food! It's amazing. The service is beyond friendly. For the money, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito. It's a huge meal for just about any appetite. Don't forget the green chili.

My mom and I occasionally hit the Parkway when I'm visiting her. They have solid lunch offerings - burgers, grilled cheese, fries, and so on. It's a great diner.

This is our "local," the diner where we eat breakfast most often. Service is unpretentious and prompt, the owner is a nice guy, the green chili's out of this world. Pancakes are fluffy, and the biscuits and gravy are acceptable BUT ask if they're fresh that morning ... the only downside is they only make biscuits fresh every few days. Other than that, especially for the quite reasonable price, can't be beat.

(5)Elizabeth W.
This is the closest thing to a Jersey diner I've found so far on my trip to Boulder. Huge selection of regular diner and western/Mexican items on the menu for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Parking can be a little tough, but it's worth driving around for a couple minutes to park. I ordered the French toast, which was home style--very eggy. My fiancé got the eggs and hash browns off the a la cart menu and liked the eggs, though the potatoes were a tad underdone. Portions are huge! He ended up finishing my French toast, which he also quite liked.
(4)John H.

(4)Alice K.
(4)Rebecca K.
(5)Kristen D.
(4)Mary Anne R.
I love this little Southwest American diner. No frills. Just damn good breakfast and the servers are friendly.
(5)Tim J.
Great breakfast completely off the beaten path. Cozy, and comfortable. Takes some hunting to get here, but worth the effort. Piping hot and good portions.
(5)Mike R.
Best breakfast in town! Good food and very reasonable. Rarely a wait and good service too!! Only complaint is they are always out of strawberry jam in there smuckers holders because it's the one everyone wants.
(5)Hugo L.
Thumbs up and great food, atmosphere, friendliness felt all the way through. I am willing to come back here everyday for breakfast/brunch! When there is carnitas hash as special, and pancakes in short stack, it is an awesome place!
(5)Samuel Antonio S.
(2)Terry G.
(5)Tyra G.
Yum!! This place defiantly hit the spot! Boyfriend got the giant burrito, which was delicious. The patty melt was great as well. Would recommend this place- great diner style food, good prices too!
(5)Ellen M.
(5)Tami P.
If you like a mildly spicy breakfast order anything with the verde chili sauce and you won't be disappointed. Their lattes are good too!
(4)Thighmaster M.
(4)Reed N.

(5)Kara A.
(4)Daniel S.
Delicious! My favorite breakfast place in town
(5)Karol M.
(5)Kate W.
(2)Kara S.
(5)Puneet P.
Very efficient and no-nonsense service as well as tasty dishes. Many days, it's pretty packed though the staff does their best to fill and serve their tables. I'm not sure on the quality of their ingredients but the final product is tasty!
(4)Ricardo B.
Judi's first new knee staple free breakfast hurrah . We be at one of out fav morning places. Great breakfast all the time, and the service can't be beat, it also has a great outdoor patio
(5)Brian K.
(5)Dustin R.
(4)Francisco M.
This place was sweet! I had the Denver Scramble, wife had the Breakfast Enchiladas and our pals had Boulder Omelets. Everyone loved their meals and cleaned the plates up.
(5)Jessi G.
(5)Matt S.
Rolling through town on the way back to Denver and luckily took to yelp to find breakfast. This place is really good, I wish they had one in Vegas. Solid service and food with a lot of flavor. Patio is great for chilling. Enjoy!
(5)Megan A.
This place is a gem in Boulder, tucked in an industrial/automotive park it offers a super affordable breakfast with a shorter wait than most places in town on a Saturday morning. All the dishes featuring a green chili are amazing! Friendly staff makes the morning a delight.
(5)Keith P.
Pretty average breakfast place. Definitely a local hot spot and low price greasy spoon. For serving Ozo coffee, it was brewed pretty weak.
(3)Jennifer G.
(5)Leanne S.

(5)Vince R.

(5)Ashlee H.
(4)Ashley N.
(2)Calvin F.
I've been here with my parents and grandparents a couple times now for brunch. It can be hard to find seating for a large group (8 people), but we have managed to make it work. The food is good. The coffee is mediocre. I've enjoyed going here and would be willing to do so again.
(4)Isabelle A.
After living in Boulder for 4 years I discovered this place. I regret not finding this gem of a diner earlier. It's so delicious, quick and the service is great. Try the breakfast enchiladas with avocado! It's my fav
(5)Scott K.
Found this on Yelp and it was excellent. Kids loved the waffles and pancakes. I had the Denver Scramble with green chili. Delicious! Will be back.
(4)Blake H.
(5)Lyn Y.
(5)Ed K.
Awesome Mexican breakfast. Just for giggles we also ordered steak street tacos. They were amazing. The prices were super low.
(5)Michael R.
(5)Micky Y.
Yikes.
(1)Samuel D.
You probably will not just drive by and find this place. It's tucked away behind an auto body shop. But dear god it's worth finding it! Great American dinner food right out of 1956. Food is the way wish dinner food would be and the service it always great. Do your mouth a favor!
(5)Kristen H.
Great brunch diner food with a mexican food spin. Never a long wait (if there is a wait at all) and always fast service. A hidden gem in Boulder!
(5)Nik N.
(4)Amy O.
(2)Ryan O.
I love this place. The good is always very good and perhaps the best value you can find in the Boulder area. I've only had breakfast/brunch here, and the Mexican breakfast is really tasty and only $5. The specials are also very good.
(5)Tyler W.
Found this place with a Yelp search. I was a little skeptical with so few reviews, but the rating is on point. Super friendly and attentive staff. The Boulder Omelet with Hollandaise
(5)J B.
Definitely out of the way and definitely worth it! Food was great (especially the migas!) and so was the service. Very friendly and attentive staff. Will go again when in Boulder.
(5)Tricia D.
Cute outdoor patio...has vegetarian options. Very friendly, good food and fast service.
(4)Nory B.
Great quick service despite the fact that every table was full, some with large groups. Huge portions, so be prepared to eat! Really good food, good coffee. Hash browns are really crispy on top, just the way I like them.
(4)Marie F.
(5)Mark B.
(4)Ramon G.
There should be a breakfast place like this in every city. That said, if you moved to Boulder in the last 10 years for the lifestyle or may have gluten issues don't come here. Some of us still have souls. Also the staff here is very friendly and accommodating with the older/special needs clientele that comes in.
(5)Danielle C.
Excellent diner. The service was friendly, fast, and efficient! I had the Denver Scramble- delicious! The prices are fair and the food is fresh. This hidden gem definitely earned 5 stars.
(5)Mark B.
Very good - had a Mexican omelette with green chile. So good.
(4)Mel C.
(4)Bridget H.
We keep coming back to parkway why you may ask?? Its amazing that's why!!! We have ordered both breakfast and lunch and it's great every time. We absolutely LOVE their grits they are perfect every single time. We will be back for sure!! Keep it up Parkway!
(5)Billy R.
(5)K F.
(5)Anthony L.
A great hole in the wall breakfast restaurant, definitely recommend a try if you are in the area and are looking for somewhere to eat early in the morning
(5)Preston E.
(5)Hannah E.
(4)David S.
Great food! I love green chilies and the green chile sauce here is great. I had the Mexican breakfast: two eggs with green chili sauce and cheese over hashbrowns. Great. Good price also. Very friendly staff.
(5)Mozza R.
(2)Lionel L.
(5)Susan B.
(5)Drew F.
(5)Elizabeth M.
Great food for a great price! Staff was very friendly too. I really liked the atmosphere with all of the regulars being called by name. We'll be back!
(5)Alexandra D.
Loved it, one of the few places in Boulder where they got all the things I ordered right (and I don't have complicated orders), the food was great, and also unique in Boulder, it wasn't overpriced. Definitely will be going back.
(5)Leith S.
(5)Fallon M.
(4)Justinne C.
While located in some weird industrial alley, the food was what I expected from a local greasy spoon. The staff was friendly and overall a great experience.
(5)Anita W.
My husband and I had a great breakfast! The service was friendly and quick, the food was great. I had the breakfast enchiladas - the green chili had good flavor some heat but not too much. My husband had the chicken fried steak - with a side of green chili to top the potatoes. We will defiantly be back.
(5)George W.
(4)Rob D.
We go here EVERY weekend. It is my absolute favorite in Boulder County. This place really nails breakfast, it is consistently good food, the staff are all super friendly, and you always know what you'll get. Please don't come here though because I love never having to wait for a table :)
(5)Jeremy C.
(5)Phil G.
(4)Wang S.
got to try their chipotle benedict special while it lasts!!!!
(5)Colene M.
(5)JP B.
We'll be back! Tried this just the other day, and WOW, excellent brunch! There were 8 of us eating, and we all tried different things. Every plate was good. Food was hot, fresh and plentiful. Always nice to know a new spot in Boulder with great food!
(4)Carrie O.
(4)Jim W.
(4)Megan S.
One of the best breakfast places in Boulder! No frills decor, quick friendly service, & consistently tasty breakfast food. Love the hashbrowns!
(5)Ali L.
(5)Lou P.
(4)Margaret C.
(4)Trevor H.
Absolutely the BOMB! enjoy it!
(4)Kirk W.

This is a great breakfast place. I love the Parkway scramble and the pancakes it comes with. I have never eaten lunch here but the breakfast is well worth coming here for.

Classic greasy spoon. Well run, good food.
