Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Been waiting for over an hour and a half approaching two hours. Still have not recieved my calzone and soda.... Should not take this long, it was ordered threw hungry buffs and it shouldn't take this long. Not happy. Edit; Food is great, still warm after almost 2 hours, not fast but food is great.

Waited 2 hours for them to bring me the wrong order. Place is a joke, might be decent if their staff were intelligent enough to get your order right and on time.

Eating the Mangus as I type this. It's delicious... pepperoni, spinach, pesto, tomatoes, cheese, and a side of marinara. The cookie (pb & chocolate chip) was outstanding, and I'm really picky about sweets and baked goods. But, I also need to say thank you to the driver (Dustin? Justin?). I had a run-in with a St. Bernard this past weekend and my knee is the size of a very, very large grapefruit and I'm in more pain than I want to admit. My office at CU has a bunch of stairs, and I asked the driver if he wouldn't mind helping me out by bringing the order up stairs for me. He was very sweet and understanding and brought my lunch right to me. I know it's a small thing, but I'm so very appreciative. Those little things matter! THANK YOU.

Two stars is pushing it. Roni zone came with very little pepperoni, and was mostly cheese. Calzone prices have gone up, and the calzones have gone down in quality and size. Cookies are good, but staff and zones are not worth 7 bucks. Delivery has been horrible in the last 4 years. Often items show up late, and with mistakes. Used to love this place, but now they are not worth the trouble.

I had forgotten my credit card at home, so it looked like I was using grubhub to order lunch! Usually this calls for a super long delivery time, but this time was different. The ETA for my food was 1:15 pm, and it had already arrived at 12:35. I was pretty pleased with the dude, and wished I could have tipped more than my pre-paid 25%. With the fast delivery came warm, fresh, gooey great grub. For the calzone, I ordered the Ranch Buffer Zone - breaded chicken with hot sauce, ranch, and cheese. The hot sauce was a great Louisiana style, mixed creamily with the ranch. There was a perfect amount of each sauce, and they also brought the extra that I had asked for. I had to satisfy my sweet tooth to meet the $10 delivery minimum with delicious freshly baked cookies. They were crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside... mmmm. I recieved all of this for $17, including the tip. Not too bad!

They let me 100% custom-create my own calzone and didn't charge double for doing so! And if you know me, that is an A+ in my book! Additionally, my friends & I played a prank (why I don't know) on the person taking our order. As such, they remained bubbly, energetic, and very tolerant. In other words, they have great customer service to accompany their savory bites of dough too!

Had D.P. Dough for the second time tonight and was impressed and satisfied again. Placed my delivery order online. my order arrived within less than an hour with $30 of food and some pretty terrible weather. Driver was friendly and pretty cute! Best of all the food was delicious and everything was hot and fresh! You get so much food for your money, and they're open "crazy late!" The calzones are awesome and I can't wait to try the wings. Highly recommend for late night munchies in Denver. Where else can you get Ben and Jerry's delivered to your house at midnight?!?

This place is my fave. I've had the roni zoni (an instant classic) and I think it was called falling rock (it's like a baked potato) and it's always sooooo good. The service is great and the cookies are also ridic good! It's embarrassing how many times I've ordered from here

Coming from a college down where DP Dough was very prominent place for late night eating, I was super excited to see DP Dough near me. It didn't disappoint at all. The guys behind the counter were really friendly, and the food was just a wonderful as I remembered. Awesome place for a nice meal.
(5)Lily C.
I really wish I could give DP Dough more than three stars, but the food is worth maybe 2 stars. The service was definitely five stars. The older guy at the cash register was really friendly, and in a very authentic way, not the customer-service-robot way, which makes me really uncomfortable. All the other people working were nice as well and I'm not usually a fan of the college boy part time worker so that's saying a lot. My calzone was over $8 after tax. I had the Black and Bleu calzone which seemed to have the most/most decadent ingredients: bleu cheese, bacon, hamburger, mozzarella, mushrooms. The fillings were decent but the dough/crust whatever was very bland and too chewy. Honestly, I could get a better and bigger meal from Domino's. However, I guess I'd rather support these guys than Domino's and DP Dough is literally across the street from my apartment. I probably won't be going back unless I'm drunk and desperate, or if they revamp their recipe. DP Dough, if you're reading this I'm sorry because you guys were hella nice.

An old freshman year favorite from Amherst, MA I was interested to retest these calzones after spending the past 10 years seeking out other crafters. The first thing that I noticed is how small these are for the money. It's a terrible deal but actually is a blessing in disguise considering how sick you may well feel after eating one. The next thing is the sauce which upon popping the top will actually overwhelm your olfactory senses. To me the sauce should compliment the taste of the calzones but not dominate your senses as this is capable of doing. It is food however and with this much cheese and hot dough you're guaranteed to be moderately satisfied (until digestion begins). They have a decent deal at the moment where you can get a zone and small fountain drink for under $6 with tax. My wrap up is that these are low quality ingredients stuffed into a fairly small piece of dough. On my personal rating chart of calzones these rank significantly below average. I'm a visitor from Boston so I can't suggest any local alternatives but just about anything from another pizza shop should be on par or better.
(2)Kaitlyn C.
Such good calzones. I got the Italian, it was filled with meaty deliciousness. And then deliver late when you have the munchies. I ordered twice over the weekend I visited Denver. A perfect late night snack after the Cannabis Cup. Make sure to get the double deal-- 2 calzones, 2 cookies, & 2 drinks for $16. Great deal!!
(5)Matt G.
Do yourself a favor and order anything here. I've never had a better calzone. It may seriously have crack baked into the dough because it is that addicting. Get the peanut butter cookie though.(the chocolate chip is just greasy dough)
(5)Christie V.
Sadly, the quality hasn't been as good lately. Arg! I hope it gets better again.
(3)Brent B.
Good food at a decent price. A nice selection of calzones. I'm a fan of their "combat zone." From order to delivery, it takes them about 45 minutes or less. They have a selection of sodas and drinks. Open super late!
(4)Dendy W.
While the food is good, it can hardly compensate for the absurd wait time! When you walk in, the calzone can be ready in ten minutes. When you call in? Be prepared to wait at LEAST two hours for their 45-min. quote time. It's up to you: do you want to have your meal sometime today? Try another place.
(1)Matt J.
I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because of the friendly service. This place is very slow and food is just mediocre. It took almost 45 minutes after I ordered online for takeout to have my calzone be ready, even though it said it would only take 20 minutes. Very disappointing for what the quality of the food was. But again, very friendly workers which is good.
(2)Donovan M.
We order from my office a few times, and the calzones are delish for a fair price ($7 drink and calzone lunch special). The sauce is a little overpowering with a very strong initial impression that tappers off for a watery finish and leaves the final impression of simply being over spiced. Problem is that their customer service is terribly bad. They regularly get our order wrong and the other day the woman taking my order told me that they didn't have the calzone I was attempting to order. I had to redirect her to the menu and show her where it was on their menu. I decided to drop in their store for the first time, to see why it is that they are regularly getting our orders wrong and having delay issues with delivery, and that was quite an eye opening experience. The place looks like a stoners dorm room, complete with a bunch of glazed over employees. They have the capacity to be a great place. The manager was very attentive to our order and delivery issues when they were brought up. They just seem to be overly unreliable. Maybe they will get that fixed in the near future, for the time being, you would likely be better getting your meal elsewhere.
(3)Vicky C.
I'd never had D.P. Dough prior to this weekend, and my first experience will be my last. When the delivery guy arrived, he apologized that the calzone would be smaller than normal, that they had run out of ingredients. My thought - if you are low on supplies, tell people you can't fill their order, don't wait and then charge full price for what you know is not a worthwhile product.
(1)Elise M.
I've only gotten DP Dough one time, delivery, but I was pretty impressed. There was some deal going on where you got 2 calzones, 2 drinks, and 2 cookies for a good price, so my roommate and I along with some other people on our floor bought in. I got a pepperoni calzone, and it was the best I've ever had (granted, I've only had about 3 in my life, but hey). It was so cheesy with just the right amount of sauce and meat, nice and hot, very very good. The cookies were alright, nothing to rave about, but over all the experience I had with DP Dough was a good one.
(3)John A.
$5 calzones before 7pm. Awesome. The food's delicious. Build your own or pick a favorite like Loading zone or Buffer zone. They are friendly here & take care of the customers. Nothing but good things to say about this business who has done nothing but good things for me.
(5)Ben L.
Ordered food from this place and had a manager named Matt who wouldn't give his name at the Denver location. I asked why he wouldn't give his name after he disrespectfully blamed the customer for not getting the order straight 3 times. We repeated it 3 times and he acted like we were not competent when he had no clue what we said 3 times..smoking too much weed on the job Matt? Somebody please fired this tool bag before he drives this business to the bottom of the barrel. Good luck to anyone ordering from this joint. Take your money and spend it on competent professionals who can "listen" and understand.
(1)Brandon A.
It has need been an hour and a half, the Broncos game is over, still no calzones. So hungry!
(1)Maestro L.
great calzone and good service. Place is a little run down but does mostly delivery and take out.
(5)Rog D.
DP Dough rocks. Any zone is awes-zone. Try the so cal for a little spice. And obviously can't go wrong with the classic buffer zone or chicken parmzone. It may be a spread out chain but they know calzones.
(5)Greg C.
I came here not knowing what to expect when I was a freshmen at CU. Man, was I in for a treat. When it comes to calzones, D.P. Dough did everything right. The calzone was piping hot when delivered, and the deal I got that night was a soda, cookie, and calzone for $7. That's a steal in Boulder, folks. I'd go here just for the cookies. Very few places make cookies as good as these in Boulder nowadays. My friends and I once ordered these at 2am just because we could. They never lose their flavor! It's not really on the Hill, and is arguably closer to Pearl Street than the Hill. But it's worth the walk. Be ready for a huge calzone when you order. You'll leave feeling full, but not stuffed.
(4)Andy Q.
I love pizza and calzones. This place just so happens to cater to my love of calzones. The food is delicious and there is always a ton of variety to pick from while you are here trying to figure out what you want or when you are slightly not yourself when you get a craving at 1 in the morning that can only be satisfied by calzone-y goodness. The calzones are fairly large and they always have some kind of deal going on where you can get them for fairly cheap. They also do cookies (who doesn't love some delicious peanut butter chocolate chip cookies?) The only sad part is that I now live in not in Boulder and can no longer get them delivered. It is a sad day indeed.
(4)Carolyn M.
Nom nom nom! I had my first DP Dough experience this past weekend in Boulder, and I finally see what everyone has been raving about! For one thing, it was almost 3am when I ordered my calzone, so automatically, I became a fan (food is hard to find at this hour!) I don't know if I ordered two calzones or if one calzone is really just the size of two small babies. At any rate, I ate half of the BBQ chicken calzone I received, and it knocked me right into a food coma...a glorious, cheesy, saucy, fatty, happy food coma. I wouldn't recommend making a daily diet out of this unless you're looking to someday compete on The Biggest Loser, however, it's the perfect choice for late night nosh after an abundance of cocktails in Boulder or Denver.
(4)Chad L.
This DP Dough Boulder is a joke. They state they are open super late until 3 AM. Not true they close a couple of hours before thier corporate stated closing time. I'm been inside the establishment and it is dirty and the staff has a "I could care less attitude." I went to Umass Amherst and they have a DP Dough and it was great food you could order super late. Boulder DP Dough seems to have missed the concept. I would bet this store does half the business the Amherst store does.
(1)Tyler W.
Every time I've ordered a calzone (which has been twice now) the zones have come very small and I feel ripped off, yes there good but SMALL. One thing you must get here is a cookie, the ookies are insane and always come fresh and warm. Because of that I give this mediocre establishment a nah++.
(3)Bizzy M.
Great place for calzones in Boulder. Outstanding variety. There is something for everyone here (whether you lean to carnivore or herbivore or somewhere in between). The size of the calzone is good. You will not leave hungry. Light eaters could probably share one (any time I have been here with a female, they only eat about 1/2). Tasty marinara sauce nicely compliments the calzone. Only negative is the fountain drink selection; lacks much choice for diet drinks. They switched from coke to pepsi a few years ago and there is not a good selection for my taste. I would like to see something like Coke Zero offered, but given they are now a pepsi place, that can't happen for now. How about at least something like Diet Dr. Pepper ? Friendly staff. Great value (especially the lunch special - any calzone + drink is $6 total).
(4)Matthew M.
A great calzone place. Delivers as well into the late hours of the night. The calzones are very cheesy, fresh-tasting, and they'll put just about anything you want inside it. Also if you like you can order hot sauce and other good sauces for dipping. Takes about 10 minutes for them to prepare your calzone and it comes out nice and hot for you to enjoy. Definitely try this place if you haven't already.
(5)Kate S.
I used to not be big on calzones but DP Dough is slowly changing my mind. They have a big selection of pre-thought-out combos and tons of toppings to choose from if you care to create your own 'Zone. Marinara is a nice accompaniment and has just the right amount of spice. L-o-v-e the peanut butter chocolate chip cookies! I have to say I'm not a huge fan if the crust (kinda bland) but it's not a huge deal. The 'Zones themselves are very generous in size (what lady doesn't like that?) and they make great leftovers - hot or cold. Online ordering thru Hungry Buffs is convenient and they have some awesome deals (either at lunchtime or for Eat Cheap Week). Delivery has been quick even during peak times. Definitely a good alternative to Boulder's pizza scene.

Absolutely superb.

REALLY considering never ordering from these guys again. Took them 2 hours to deliver an order to a place they have delivered too many times in the past, saying their driver could not access the building. Really? And when he called to say he was lost, he didn't even ask for the person that placed the order, he just took the food back to the restaurant and didn't even call to notify anyone. We are only two blocks from them. I would avoid ordering from them. Their calzones aren't worth waiting two hours for.
(1)Kat M.
Any place I can get delivery from at 3 am is automatically awesome. Got the spinach canzone, the spinner, and it was very good. Quick delivery too. Not outrageously expensive either. I'm also a huge fan of the fact that they deliver ben and jerry's pints! Definitely a new favorite late-night spot. The leftovers also reheated nicely, so it was also a good lunch the next day (plus they're huge!). The dough is good, it wasn't over cooked (which i usually don't find very appetizing), and there was a TON of cheese inside, and I'm a firm believer that you can never have too much cheese! I will definitely be a regular at this place.
(4)Ali F.
I like DP Dough's calzones, and I want to have sex with their salads. The ranch is delicious, and the lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers always taste fresh! I like the drop zone best.its a little pricey, but the excellent salads are worth it!
(4)Elise P.
If you're wasted at 2:30am, this place deserves 5 stars. Other than that, it's just ok. But if you're looking for a cheap meal that will fill you up, D.P. is the spot to hit. Two somewhat hungry people can easily split one of their huge calzones. They have hefty meat-filled options, as well as vegetarian and calzones for the calorie-phobic. They are usually cooked to perfection and globing with cheese. If that's your style, I'm sure you'll love D.P. Dough.
(3)Daniel M.
Had a traditional meat and veggies calzone. It was good and moderately filling. I prefer pizza because the red sauce is more involved. Mine came in a 3oz plastic container which didnt get me through the meal. Decent filler.
(3)Alaina H.
I think I might be reviewing more from nostalgia than from quality but here goes. When I was in college in Ithaca my roommates and I had DP Dough every Friday night, along with peach Snapples and a serious hangover the next morning. This stuff is amazing drunk eats, the grease in some of the meatier options definitely fights the alcohol and lets you sleep. All the fond memories aside let's see if we can find a reason for each star: 1) My calzone was hot when it got here, and I live across town from the shop. 2) The delivery guy said "Thank You" when I tipped him. 3) It satisfied the craving I was having and is the first "real" food I've eaten in a few days. 4) Yeah, this really wasn't a four star Woohoo experience, but I'm leaving it there, because I am a fan. And I even have a negative comment, the dipping sauce was way too spicy, because it wasn't tasty spicy was just spicy for the sake of being spicy and burning my lips. So that sucked, but overall: yummy.
(4)Cynthia T.
I often find myself craving junk food when I'm watching movies...and DP Dough delivers. So, I ordered a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream, some cookies, and soda. They bake their cookies fresh and they are delicious. As for their calzones, I'm a big fan of their "Construction Zone" where you can create your own. I've found that I like my calzone a very particular way and the "Construction Zone" allows me to have it my way. I really like the dough they use, but like Sam said, it can be on the dry side. I think it really depends on what number I am on that particular delivery route.
(3)Sara P.
I'm sorry. This was a terrible experience. I ordered off of Hungry Buffs, and an hour later called to see where it was. They put me on hold immediately--but just set down the phone so I could hear them helping other people. I even heard them take another phone order!!! Finally, after 5 minutes they came back on and said my calzone would be there in 10-15 minutes. 15 minutes later and it's still not here. AWFUL!!!
(1)Sam H.
When a restaurant only has locations around college universities, it has to be a bad sign. And it was... D.P Dough has locations at Universities across the country. Don't call this place looking for traditional pizza pies or slices, they only feature calzones (and oddly enough chicken wings). Also odd, all calzones are the same price regardless of the toppings; they are all $6.50. I ordered the Drop Zone (all the different calzones feature "zone" in the name). It was decent, not bad, but not memorable either. The delivery came propmptly, but the calzones were only luke warm and they forgot to give my coworker his dipping sauce. A calzone is awful dry with out sauce. Overall, pretty average, but could work in a pinch. In Boulder, skip this place and instead order the calzones from Jalinos pizza; I hear they are the best.
(3)Jon S.
Great calzones and good prices for the amount of food. If you go for the lunch special, or find a coupon, their value is unbeatable in boulder. They may not be very healthy, but the calzones are delicious. I'm not crazy about the marinara sauce they use (spicy and strange) but everything else is good. The cookies are pretty tasty too!
