Duuuuuude! Nothing makes you feel older than a bunch of drunk/high undergrads trying to order food. The subs are humorously named after weed and weed culture references. So not a place to take your uptight mother, but if you like a good laugh and solid food come and enjoy. The combinations are inspired and taste great. Cheba Hut is a step up from chain sub places and yet still divey enough to make you feel at home. For an extra treat (or if you have the munchies), grab a cookie.

Located right in the heart of the hill, Cheba Hut has the best sandwiches! My friend and I walked in (it was the first time either of us had been there) and the friendly guy at the counter gave us the whole run down on the menu. Super friendly! I love the atmosphere, there is a really cute wall that's painted with old TV shows which I loved. The sandwiches were also so yummy! I got the California Club (you HAVE to try their homemade honey mustard sauce.. SO GOOD). You can customize any of their sandwiches or just build your own so there is a lot of variety which was also nice. Can't wait to go back for my next sandwich!

Cheba hut....my girlfriend wanted to try it so we went on a Friday night, not too busy, we stood off to the side to look at the menu. The weed analogies here are clever, but a bit overkill I think. Everywhere you look there is a pot leaf or a picture of someone who is stoned. We ordered our subs with a cashier we could barely hear, and she could barely hear us. This may be on account of the blaring music. The only employee really nice to us was the girl who brought us our food. Everyone else seemed like they weren't paying attention. Not a bad experience by any means but when I think restaurants i think service and tonight i missed out on the service part.

Every time I'm in Boulder I have to hit up Cheba Hut. This place is so laid back and the staff is really friendly. Sandwiches are amazing each time I go. Service has been really fast every time I've gone over the past years. They also have Kool Aid, which is the perfect compliment to the sandwich.

I was in Boulder attending a graduation, so my food options were at the mercy of my host. Luckily, she steered me in many great directions. I liked Cheba Hut. The atmosphere was very laid back...kinda like a place you'd find next to the beach in Venice. Their menu was riddled with weed references, which Colorado as a whole seems to be embracing. Anyways, I ordered the 5-0, which was a whole lot of pork products on a bun. Bacon, ham, salami! I asked for no cheese, but cheese came on it anyways. That was a little annoying. Service was fast and friendly.

This is my first yelp review. But it's very necessary. I've been going to cheba hut for years. The sandwiches are pretty good, nothing too special. This experience has gotta be one of the worst, especially for a "fast-food" sandwich spot. My boyfriend and I ordered 2 sandwiches to go. 30 minutes of waiting and I notice everyone in the restaurant has their food but us. I ask if our order is in the works and they are confused. They were making the sandwiches out of order. They make ours after we ask, leaving ingredients off. They really need some order in that place. Maybe they should let their workers come in stoned.....

ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS how warm, crunchy (not hard) and tasty these sub's are!! These people don't care one bit how dangerously addictive these sub's are! 8" Midwest Best ( club ) on wheat. Toasted sub sandwiches that are extremely delicious and right around the corner from The Fox Theatre. I got the magic mushroom sub on wheat and it was yummy! Ryan had the Greifo veggie on white and loved it as well. They have beer and liquor too I think. I would totally stop by this place again.

I worked here for 2.5 years, so maybe i'm a bit biased since my friends still work here. But I can tell you I really miss the food from this place! They have a brand new big screen TV and a bar with some good local microbrews and some actually pretty good sounding cocktails, though I haven't tried them all yet. Is it a lil' pricey? Sure, but if you want a cheap sub, go to f***ing subway. If you want a place to really enjoy a dank sub and maybe start your pregame, come here. And if not, they do deliver!

Yummmmmm, ate here last night, super good!! Was up in Boulder hitting up a concert and doing some random shopping and decided to give this place a try since I've seen it in Denver. The weed theme is awesome, I've read a few reviews with people being angry over it.....you live in Colorado......no there is no weed in the food.....get over it! Ordered the Sour Diesel sandwich, pastrami, jalapenos, thousand island, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and I got horseradish on the side! GOOOOOD! I'm not sure if this is a Colorado only sandwich because I didn't see it on the online menu, but I'll be back!

Naming all your "toasted" subs after weed is brilliant. 4 inch sandwich is called the "Nug" size, 8 inch "Pinner" size and the footling is "Blunt" size. Tried the nug Thai Stick and it was pretty damn good. They toast all the subs the perfect amount and this is pretty much the only spot where everyone is ALWAYS ripped lmao. Some good beer on tap too for only $4! Pretty awesome spot. The art in the whole store is beyond dope as well. Didn't try any deserts but the fruit loop rice crispy bar looked wild too

Food is great but the fact that I have to wait over an hour for delivery less than a mile away is ridiculous! I wouldn't normally write a review for that reason, but it happens every single time: I'm working through lunch and need a sandwich, Cheba Hut sounds great, then they make me wait until the day is almost over! P.S. ...still waiting.

In all the years I have been going to Cheba Hut, they have never disappointed.. The staff is friendly, it's right off campus so the primary clientele is that of students; they have Kool-Aid in those old school drink dispensers and general good vibes. I recommend trying the White Widow on garlic, but from what I've been told none of their sandwiches disappoint! It's quick, good, and if you get a large you can turn it into two meals. Score. You don't need to be baked to go because either way the sandwiches are legit. Never tried delivery or pickup.

On our way across the US (literally. from San Fran to Buffalo) we stopped at Cheba Hut for a mid-afternoon lunch/dinner before heading out of Colorado. We loved the vibe of the area...various shops and restaurants, people strolling down the sidewalk, and music coming out of pretty much every establishment on the strip. When we entered, we were thrown off by the menu names and how to order the food (Check their website and you'll understand what I'm talking about haha) but it was entertaining....and man, everything was delicious! While we ate, we checked out the surroundings...lots of cool art on the walls...lots of relaxed, happy employees lol... we were there right before what seemed to be a dinner rush so we got the added bonus of being able to people-watch while we were dining. We loved Boulder, and we loved Cheba Hut. The end.

Waited an hour and fifteen minutes for my sandwich to be delivered this afternoon... They called me once to confirm my order, and then I called them after an hour to get an ETA. The sandwich then arrived (incorrect and cold, I might add). Never ordering here again.

I'm going on 2 hrs and 6 min. waiting for a delivery. It's Thursday night so maybe they only have 1 driver on shift. Regardless, I will never order or go here again.

Let me first say I have never actually had a sandwich here because when my boyfriend and I went in to try one we were immediately accosted with expletives and rudeness all because my boyfriend, who is from Michigan, was wearing a Red Wings sweatshirt. While I am not a Wings fan, I don't think telling customers they f-ing suck when they enter your establishment all because one of them is wearing the teams paraphernalia is okay. Having the little rat-faced sandwich maker call me and boyfriend f-ing losers and to "go back to Detroit you f-ing p#*@*" is not a really good way of getting new customers and keeping them. BTW I'm a local born and raised and will NEVER go to Cheba Hut again!

Probably my least favorite sandwhich place in boulder. Sure, they have a marijuana theme, which visitors get a kick out of. But just walk down college and 11th and pick any other sandwhich place instead. I promise, you wont regret it.

I went to Cheba Hut for lunch today and just finished my 4" The Kind on wheat, to-go. I'd been to this location once before and had liked it then, too. Today, I honestly didn't pay much attention to choosing my toppings or even my sandwich since there was a line at the register and I was worried about being parked on the street too long--there were cops everywhere and I definitely saw a guy checking dashboards for parking payment receipts. Anyway, my sandwich was toasty, but still soft in the middle of the wheat bread, which I like, and while I usually hate bacon, I didn't mind the minimal amount on this turkey sandwich. I personally like the chunks of pickle spears, and I got a decent amount of mushrooms this time. Overall, I like the sandwiches here but could use tips on where to park without being paranoid about getting a ticket. I don't like having to guess how long the sandwich will take to be made and then trying to pay for just enough time at the kiosk because I don't want to spend the cost of a drink just for a parking space to pick up lunch.

I had the opportunity to use a 2 for 1 Cheba Hut coupon out of my Entertainment 2010 book for me and a friend the other day in Boulder. It was about 3:30pm, definitely a slower time for the place, but it didn't stop my order from being made promptly and with some damned tasty ingredients on it -- and the subs were substantial enough that I was able to devour the 2nd half for dinner later on that night. I knew I was going to be a fan of Cheba ever since I got to sample their wares way back when at Yelp's Bovine Metropolis comedy event. I had a "blunt" (12") White Widow - chicken with mushrooms, bacon and provolone and ranch dressing; my friend had a blunt "Kind" (turkey, bacon, mushroom and swiss). They were generous with their toppings, all of them were tasty and fresh, not soggy; and the preparer put some extra mushrooms on mine on request, and both were gently toasted but not charred to a crisp. Finding parking here is a bit of a challenge if the meters are full; the Hill's "Parking Nazis" were in presence even at 3:45 in the afternoon and caused a few people to flee out of the restaurant in a panic to either talk to the officer or fill their meter some more. We saw about 6 people come in during a 10 minute span mid-afternoon, so I'd definitely say this place has its fans, and they seem to do a good job at it. The 12"-ers were $8.50 a piece, but fortunately thanks to my coupon we got them both for a $8.50 total, which was an incredible deal. The environment is just like others have said...hippie-esque music, painted walls with frescoes that look like happy blissed-out stoners could have painted them, even stars or swirls on the ceiling. I can't remember which. Might have been something in the sub that I ate. ;)

Amen to the previous reviewer(s) who compared their sandwich to Quiznos. Except Quizno's is better. Faster, friendlier, cleaner and in every way better. Sorry guys. Seriously, call me a snob, but the meat here is like something near the packaged bologna section of Safeway. Like watery, rubbery pressed meat. Ugh. On the positive side, the vegetables were fresh and the bread was crunchy but tender, so no scrapes to the roof of my mouth. Also, watch out for the chipotle mayo, it's HOT. Dark reddish brown and runny, I'm not sure what's in it, but there was absolutely nothing "mayo-esque" about that sauce. The sandwiches are fairly affordable, which is good considering the low quality of what you're getting. All in all, I was pretty disappointed. Note to Cheba Hut - Instead of focusing so much on your marijuana "theme" you might try investing in some higher quality ingredients. I'm just saying.

Being from NY/NJ area, I've had my portion of subs; I wasn't expecting the poundage of meat like you get at Harold's or Canergie Deli. I guess, if you're interested in the deli meat, take a hike to that other deli on the Hill, whatchamacallit, oh yeah, HALF FAST SUBS. Back to Cheba Hut, the the toasted bread with whatever concoction you choose is PRETTY DANG DELICIOUS. Expect a lot of stoners, college kids, and a mellow atmosphere.

Walking into Cheba Hut at lunch hour is like walking in pure chaos: behind the counter there's always people yelling, trying to get the attention of one student among 20 who ordered the White Widow then wandered off across the store to say hello to a friend, or whatever. The line is squiggly at best and you never really know who's in front of you and who's behind you; the menu's full of weed references that even as a most dedicated stoner you will not recognize half of, and the music's pretty loud on top of it. I like it. Some people may not. But I do, and I'm even more impressed by how well, generally, they get the right sandwiches to the right people, and how edible and even tasty the sandwiches are. Last time I was in there the guy who cuts the bread and loads the main stuffing cut me off an end of a loaf, and my four incher suddenly looked a lot more like a two incher. I didn't say anything because i thought maybe my angle was off. But when it got out the other end of the toaster and the girl who put the toppings on saw it, she went, 'Umm... TWO inch Acapulco Gold?' and then stood there for a second with it in her hands, looking dubiously at it. Then she said, 'You know what, this is silly, he'll make another one for you.' And he did. I was impressed with her perception and the fact that she broke the assembly line to fix it. I know that in her position I would have been an automaton and just loaded it with toppings without noticing a thing amiss. So kudos to her - and then she gave me a free cookie for having to wait so long, so EXTRA kudos to her. The sandwich itself was pretty good. Nothing to rant about, nothing to rave about - slightly spicy BBQ sauce on tender chunks of chicken, enfolded in a tiny bit of melted cheese. I didn't much like the garlic bread it was on. And $4.50 for a 4 incher is steep, I think - especially considering you can get a 7 incher at Half Fast down the block for $4.99. But for anyone who really likes Quiznos, I'd recommend Cheba Hut. Same toasted crunch, about the same quality, but served in a wholly more interesting atmosphere.

Cheba Hut is m favorite sandwich shop in town. I really appreciate that they have quite a few veggie offerings - my favorite is the Griefo. Hemp cream cheese, guac, and so many veggies! The mushroom one is also great. And I love that I can get my son a pb&j for like 2 bucks! So many places want to charge way too much for kids' food. Also, everyone's really friendly. And they deliver, and very very promptly!

I visited this place for the first time this week. It was more than I could have expected! The staff was so friendly and helped me through the whole ordering process. I was a Cheba Virgin. The guy taking my order told me about the Italian (La Canna) with spicy Giardiniera. I ordered it and it was the most delicious sandwich I have ever had. The bread was toasted perfectly and all the ingredients were fresh and so tasty. I washed it down with a friggin Kool-Aid! Who has Kool-Aid on tap these days?!? Cheba Hut does! That's who! It was the best! If you are looking for the best sandwich in town, you have to come here. It blows everyone else out of the water. From the food, to the service, to the fun atmosphere, this place nails it. They also have a secret menu in store with sandwiches people have made up. Those aren't on the menu. I will probably get one of those ones next time. I know the staff wouldn't steer me wrong. Thank you Cheba Hut!!

I went to The Hill for a show at the Fox last night, and decided to go early so I could grab something to eat. I was pretty shocked at how many sandwich places there are up there (a crazy amount for such a small area, right?), but I ended up trying Cheba Hut because I'd never eaten there before. I ordered a 4" Griefo, because I was curious about the hemp cream cheese. The place was empty so my sandwich was made pretty quickly, and the guy putting the veggies on it called me up to ask what all I wanted on it, which I appreciated. I was a little surprised, though, at how sloppily the sandwich was put together, and the totally random amount of various toppings that were on it. They were really generous with the cream cheese (which only tasted slightly different to me than regular), the avocado and the lettuce, but there were only a couple of mushrooms, I only saw one olive, and there was one tomato slice. They stuck a whole pickle spear in there instead of sliced pickles so I got nothing but pickle once I reached the corner of the sandwich they'd stuck it in. Everything was fresh, and the bread was great, but it was just a strange way to assemble a sub and it seemed totally thrown together and I had a hard time eating it without everything sliding out every time I picked it up. The sandwich tasted good, but I just wish it had been better balanced, ingredient-wise. I liked that they had a fair amount of veggie options, so I'll give them another try in the future.

The subs are pretty good, but they are fairly small for the price you pay. If you don't mind the marijuana-themed restaurant, it can be a pretty interesting experience that is fairly unique to boulder! Just don't expect to get good value for your money.

Me and a buddy ordered a Pakalolo and an AK-47 for delivery the garlic herb bread is really all that stood out. The ingredients are on par with Subway, Silvermine, or Jimmy John's. The part that really ruined it for us was that the guy on the phone quoted us 25 minutes and it was an hour and 10 minutes before it got here at which point the AK-47(french dip) was cold. I called just before the driver got here and got the typical "he'll be there any minute" answer, no attempt was made at customer satisfaction.

A Boulder staple, Cheba Hut is a sandwich shop with an added sense of humor. Every bit of food they have to offer is named after something related to weed. Whether that be a roach, a blunt, or your favorite strand of pot. All of their food is healthy (ish), natural and organic. The prices are a little steep, but I like to splurge every once in a while and get a White Widow with no mushrooms, which is absolutely scrumptious. Their subs are served warm and melty, just the way I like them, and all of their sides (the cookies are great) and drink options are yummy as well. They deliver, which is convenient, and their actual shop on the hill is decorated really nicely with hippie paraphernalia, usually playing some kind of reggae, which really just adds to the atmosphere that they're trying to create. When in Boulder, there is no doubt you need to make a stop (or two) in at Cheba Hut.

I'd give it a 5 if I were a high school girl looking for some high school dudes. Just kidding! but there were actually a ton of high school (looking) boys in there tonight. Not that that really matters. Anyway! Sandwiches were awesome. Anchorman on the TV was awesome. A great Fox pre-show meal. (State Radio is awesome!!!)

This place is by far the best sandwich in Boulder! they have great service and really cool theme going there. The owners Matt and Seth are both great guys and know how to run a business! The sandwiches are always fresh and are consistently fantastic, I have tried the white widow and the acapulco gold both are really good! They also have really good cookies there. If your on the Hill and need a sandwich fix then this is the place to go for fast and great quality food!

This place just makes my day... in fact.. I'm pretty sad that my job isn't in Boulder anymore... the sammaches coming from this fine establishment make my mouth water even as I write this. The White widow without onions is by far my favorite at this place. The naming scheme always makes me laugh and the employees are always friendly and like to get your scrumcious food to you as soon as possible... ( I think they know when you need to eat you NEED to eat!!!) I always suggest this place... in fact; should you go pick up two sandwiches... one for now and one for later!

Cheba Hut actually has really good sandwiches! It was the first time I had a rueben on a sub. The guys working there were all really nice. The girl behind the counter seemed a little cranky, but she was probably just having a bad day. Sandwiches were out fast and were really tasty! It is pretty small, but worth it! :) I want to try the goo balls next time I go!

Ha Cheba Hut, what a guy what a guy. Well, Cheba Hut cracks me up, ... It's an unknown universal truth and should simply remain that way--does not need any undue corruption. So, the place has every sandwich named after buds. The walls are filled with psychedelic remaints of the overdone past. I dunno, check out the review below mine...pretty spot on.

I recommend trying the White Widow on garlic, but from what I've been told none of their sandwiches disappoint! It's quick, good, and if you get a large you can turn it into two meals. Score. You don't need to be baked to go because either way the sandwiches are legit. Never tried delivery or pickup.

Wrong order, took almost two hours to be delivered. I'm sorry, I won't be ordering from there again.

This...place...is...DANK! The white widow and thai stick are sooooo good. The employees are friendly and food doesn't take long to prepare. Poke smot.
(5)Jon S.

(5)Jes E.

I dunno, check out the review below mine...pretty spot on.

favorite sub sandwich by far. i like to get the griefo with every veggie they have.
