Cool menu for the location of this place in downtown Bayfield. I had a Greek sandwich hummus, pita and so on. Nothing spectacular but good. This is my second visit in six months and I think there's not enough biz for a ton of staff so a little patience goes a long way when ordering some grind. I will be back when I'm in Bayfield

After 1 month in Durango, we have had many good meals (bkst, lunch, and dinner). REALLY good. Today we discovered the crown jewel of SW Colorado breakfasts in the form of "the Tuning Fork Cafe" in little Bayfield, CO about 15 miles east of Durango. Grilled polenta cake served with a side of pan sautéed mixed greens and thick, crispy bacon and a sunny side up fried egg all drizzled lightly with a smoky, slightly spicy chipotle cream sauce. All high quality, organic ingredients. Super friendly staff, clean, delightful ambience with lovely displays from local artists. Best breakfast we've had in the area (not to take away from the many other good meals we've had). STOP here! You won't regret it!!!

Great again. Chorizo omelette. Just hot enough! I had coffee. Healthy. Frank had a bagel sandwich. Nice folks and good cooks. He make Chai from scratch! You better come on in!

This place is awesome! Great atmosphere, great food and great coffee. I just had the Zoco sandwich for breakfast and it was amazing. (I highly suggest getting it) I will certainly come back again and again!

Great hidden gem. We had one of the days special Chorizo and potato breakfast tacos. Delicious with just enough heat. All the food we saw going to other patron looked amazing. Coffee was great as well as specialty coffee. I didn't purchase any of their goodies, but they looked amazing. Very friendly and loved the local artist decorations. I would go by anytime I'm in Bayfield. Which is a darling little city.

My husband and I have eaten here twice and absolutely loved it both times. The owners are always there and do the cooking and serving. They will take the time to make personal recommendations based on your tastes and will make things that aren't listed on the menu. Each menu item has a unique twist that always improves upon classic flavor combinations and the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. I wish I could eat breakfast here every day. The atmosphere is also wonderful. It is cozy but not cramped and very nicely decorated. I can't wait to go back.

A truly unique and quality dining experience in Bayfield. The pleasant and upbeat staff serves up tasty combinations you wish you would have thought up at home. I tried the Polenta Ranchero special. A polenta cake covered with a chorizo patty and a fried egg, with a fresh green salad w/ salsa fresca, all drizzled with a chipotle ranch dressing. very tasty w/ a little kick. The hot italian is a meat lover's delight and the kids were more that satisfied w/ the Zoco egg sandwich. A light bright atmosphere w/ a bit of coffee house vibe (and the obligatory sofa if you want to settle in w/ a cuppa joe). Local art adds a nice touch.

Top notch! Absolutely the best food in Bayfield. The owners are a pure pleasure to talk to. The food is prepared with a level of knowledge not found in any other restaurant in Bayfield. The coffee is superb. The food is great. The only downsides to this place are the hours and Coke products. Hopefully they can find some capable people to take this place into a dinner service. Instead of Coke maybe they could bring a Boylans fountain or bottles into the cooler. Their cuban is awesome. The bread was amazingly good. Every item that comprises the sandwich is spot on. It does not come with nor needs a side item. My wife had the frittata and loved every bite.

Beautiful lil spot... Very nice owners and remembered my order to a T. Very good foor and are very creative for weird eating habits (gluten free, no meat etc.). Go there... You won't regret it!

Finally, a great, healthy place to eat in Bayfield. Run by people who are knowledgable about the importance of fresh local ingredients. Plus, it's just a comfortable, relaxing place to hang out in and have a coffee and read the paper. Kudos to the owners.

I can't say enough good things about the Tuning Fork or recommend this place to enough people! Fresh products, light options, welcoming atmosphere wonderful owners! It's so great to have this cafe in town! For food that doesn't sit in the pit of your stomach for hours or make you feel like you just ate a brick for lunch - eat at the Tuning Fork!!! I've had several of their sandwiches and I've never been disappointed. Not once.

we loved this little cafe! super friendly dedicated folks, clean, and thoughtful interesting and very well prepared food. I had the Monty Sandwich, french toast with ham and cheese inside with maple syrup to dip it in! Brilliant. We also had the oatmeal, perfection!

This is a great little place for a simple, delicious meal. Pleasant atmosphere, good food, very friendly staff. I just discovered it yesterday and I've been there twice in two days!
