The building is charming. Our waiter gave the same spiel to the table before, and 2 tables sat after us. "The amuse-buche is a small amusement for your mouth". We sat underneath a large oil painting of the chef and his wife awkwardly standing in front of a fireplace. I only knew this was the chef because he has the entire hallway leading to the bathroom covered in his pictures and article clippings. At dessert the waiter wheeled out a cart of choices, surrounding the chef's cookbook. He displayed and pitched us the cook book, followed by an explanation that it is mandatory for servers to try to push the book. Hostess was nice.

The food was amazing. My duck breast entree was perfectly cooked and the lobster bisque was one of the best I've ever had. Even better than the food, though, was the service. My waiter was good, but really impressive was their service after I left. I had accidentally left some items in a bag under the table. They offered to send them to me at home in Dallas! Amazing customer service. I will definitely come again

Almost dropped it to a 4 for Service but the food makes up for it. Great fois gras. Sole was also good. Strong showing in the dessert course as well. Waiter was over the top on his presentation and seemed to drag on a bit... Will always go here on our trips to the Beav. Agree one of the best year after year.

One of my favorite restaurants. Quaint, romantic, intimate ambiance.. Great food, you can taste the love and creativity! Professional yet warm service.. I love that it is still family run and not ruled by Vail Resorts.

Mirabelle is my most favorite restaurant I've ever eaten at in my whole entire life. We did the tasting menu and added a couple of things on & got a bottle of wine. Amazing seating/atmosphere/service/... good lord I hate that it's a place we went to on a vacation & isn't located around the corner :( Everything was perfect. We will go back to Mirabelle's the next time we are in Colorado.. even if we are an hour away.

Felt compelled to write a review for this place - Mirabelle was, hands down, the best culinary experience of my life. Truly transformative in terms of educating me about what food can be. No element of the evening was anything less than perfect: from the food, to the drinks, to the service, to the ambiance. I'd say the food was the real star player, but that would be doing a disservice to the rest of the factors that contributed to such a wonderful dining experience. You can come here and literally order anything on the menu - you will not be disappointed - but the best thing I can recommend is the chef's choice of courses (I forget the actual title on the menu; EDIT: looked it up and it's called "Le Menu Gourmand"). Make no alterations or substitutions; do not stray from how the courses are designed to be enjoyed. Here at Mirabelle, the chef is the teacher and you are the student there to learn. If you let him guide you - and, moreover, educate you - through the evening bite-by-bite, you will not leave unhappy - I guarantee it. 5 well-deserved stars.

Not a bad choice if you're in Beaver Creek, though the menu needs some serious attention. For example, the vegetarian risotto I ordered was under the "Les Poissons" section. Despite being labeled as fish, it was indeed a tasty vegan dish. All and all, Daniel Joly knows what he's doing because the food was delicous despite the disorganized menu for both me (vegan) and my father (omnivorious). Atmosphere is quaint and cozyy - this might be my favorite restaurant in Beaver Creek.
Mirabelle's is a darling restaurant that sits just past the gate house to Beaver Creek. It tucked away a little, so easy to miss if not paying attention. The restaurant takes up the first floor of a little house and feels homey the moment you walk in the door. A small bar area is to the left as you walk in the door. With the fire going its the perfect place for a before or after dinner drink. The hostess is super sweet, very french, and extremely helpful. My brother is fluent in French, so she gave us all her favorites before the waiter even had a chance to come by. We started off the evening with a bottle of Mirabelle Sparkling Rose. The rose is not made for the restaurant, just a fun coincidence, it is light, but still flavorful and a good start to the meal. For starters, I had the ravioli which was very good and the right portion size. Dover sole was on the menu, which is my favorite type of fish, so I couldn't pass it up. Add on the fact, the sole is one of the only dishes that has never been taken off the menu, I'm 100% sold. The sole was cooked perfectly and I was very happy with my choice. Everyone else got the elk medallion special which was excellent. Add on a nice bottle of wine from Rhone and the meal was complete. I will definitely return to Mirabelle's next time I'm in Beaver Creek. I can't believe I didn't visit soon!
Everything about our meal was truly fantastic. We had dinner here with our kiddos on our last night of vacation and we were thoroughly impressed. Upon arriving, the ambiance is quaint and mountain-elegant. They even had a small, quiet "room" for the four of us. The hostess and all the servers were incredibly gracious and knowledgeable. The steak is one of their signature dishes, and it is deserving of it's title. After tasting a bit of everyone's plate, though, we wished we could have returned the next night to try more of what we couldn't while there! For a fantastic meal while in Beaver Creek, check out Mirabelle!!!

I was treated to a dinner at Mirabelle. Loved the place and the storyline. Great chef, etc. Nothing came together, they never got the food to the right person, left off listed items from three dishes, the tenderloins were overlooked i had been waiting for the right restaurant and Chef to try wagyu beef so i ordered it with Foie grad for $90 unfortunately was uninspired at best. I had very high hopes and they did not deliver. The place had all the ingredients , but just could not make it work they night.

OK, if you have read my other reviews, I am a bit critical when it comes to food. I have worked myself to the bone to afford to have traveled and lived in various parts of the world, partaking in fabulous and not so fab ethnic cuisines. So, when I give good reviews, it's only because I feel that the restaurant or place of business truly deserves their rating. That being said, I REALLY love coming to Mirabelle for the food and service. Is it a bit more expensive than most? Yes. Is it worth it for the money? Absolutely. There are few restaurants in Colorado that are on par with what you get in the bigger cities in the U.S. (NYC, LA, Chicago) or other global cities, so I feel that the extra expense is worth it, especially when you make the journey here a special occasion or treat. The staff are always friendly and inviting to us without being pretentious at all (how sick am I of hearing at other restaurants the chef's special as some variation of "Wasabi-infused sauce over Mahi-mahi" in a waiter's patronizing tones!). Any specials or tastings on the menu are explained and you are left to decide what to imbibe and devour. On our last journey there in July 2010, I was told that Chef Joly changes the menu every month and a half to compliment the changing seasons. My husband and I both chose the 3-course menu for $35 and then had tea (they carry the Tea Forte brand) and coffee with our dessert. The entrees were great and the peach tart dessert (made with CO peaches) was divine. Since we are not drinkers, I can't comment on the wine list, but our bill came to about $88 and we added a $20 tip for the great service. The only things negatively I can comment on are that parking can sometimes be an issue (this can't be helped since the restaurant is located in a historic building where there is very little room to expand) as well as the fact that they don't show their hours of operation on their website. I realize that for some people this is not a big deal, but it's always nice to get general bits of info from a website without having to call the restaurant directly. I would add hours of operation as well as a blurb about being only open for dinner on their Contact Page. You can find their website at: mirabelle1.com/html/home… Bon appetit!

A wonderful experience for our family of 6, including 4 children, ages 5, 7, 9 & 11. Everyone was extremely friendly, including the hostess on the phone the night before when I called to inquire about "kid-friendliness." Every aspect of the cuisine was absolutely divine. This was a special family occasion, and Mirabelle was the perfect place to celebrate. We will return!

I was a gourmet virgin the first time I ate at Mirabelle when I was a teenager. I had no idea what it was that I was experiencing but I knew that I liked it. I have been fortunate enough to eat here several more times as an adult and I am still blown away by the amazing food and incredible service. The atmosphere is very subdued and serious but that leaves plenty of room to contemplate the gastronomic delights on the plate. I wish I could afford to dine here every time I visit Vail Valley.

THE BEST MEAL EVER! I promise that you will savor every bite of your meal as if it were the first and last meal you will ever taste. The food was amazing, the service was even better, and the atmosphere is very intimate. It seems to me that this place used to be a big house, with a few tables in each room, which really added to the privacy and romance. As mentioned in the other review, our waiter was extremely friendly, and even wrote us a list of things to do while in Vail, all of which sounded right up our alley. Overall, our experience at Mirabelle was unforgettable, and we will suggest that anyone in the area with a little extra money to spend go here!

Went for NYE dinner recently and it was everything people said it would be. Very intimate, very cozy and very delicious. They had a price fixed menu for NYE and all of the options for each course were great. My bf & I both had the lobster bisque to start and were very happy. I personally would have liked it a little thicker but overall the taste was rich and satisfying. For our entrees I had the dover sole and he had the elk filet. both were buttery and delicious. The sauces were finger licking good!! We both basically licked our plates! Small portions but we expected that b/c A. it's French and B. it was a price fixed menu. Dessert was incredible. I had a chocolate souflee. It was perfect and he had a mini fondue. How could that be bad?! Overall we had a great meal and I would love to go back next time we're in Beaver Creek!

The family looks forward to an annual Christmas holiday dinner here and in the past we rate it at least a 4 star experience. Not this year. My favorite dish ,Dover sole , was for the first time disappointing do to it being presented in strip form. The halibut portion was on the small side and overcooked. Perhaps a bad night but worrisome.

My husband and I visited Mirabelle for a date night while in the Vail area for a month on business. We were looking for a special place with unique ambience to enjoy a delicious dinner, and Mirabelle fit the bill. It is a charming historic home, and in the summer, the front planters are brimming with flowers. It is tucked away just inside the Beavercreek gates, to the left of the entrance. It would be easy to drive right past without noticing it, especially if you don't know it is there. There is a nice patio, but since we arrived at dusk, we found it too chilly to dine outdoors, so we sat in the dining room. It was quiet the evening we dined there, with only two other parties in the dining room. They are known for game dishes and their signature Dover Sole. My husband opted for the tasting menu, which our waiter said would be a great introduction to the dishes they excel in. He started off with a duck carpaccio and found that the flavors grew on him with each bite. He was pleased with the elk medallions as well. I had the beef tenderloin, and while it was good, it did not rate as one of the best steaks I've had. It arrived at our table a bit undercooked and I had to return it to the kitchen. Even for an upscale restaurant, I found the portions to be underwhelming for the price, and I was left wanting more. We ended our meal with the molten chocolate cake served warm with pistachio ice cream, which was rich and delicious! It was a wonderful ending to our meal. Our server was attentive and friendly, but professional, and we were well taken care of. If you want to experience the charm of Mirabelle without the high price tag, I would recommend drinks in the bar area or dessert. The food is quite good, but unable to earn the accolade of one of my best dining experiences. But, if you are looking for a romantic dinner spot in the Beavercreek area and are undeterred by the spendy prices, Mirabelle is a good choice with fabulous historic charm and candlelit ambience.

It's a cute place behind the gates, kind of hidden. It's a nice change from the Vail village area. It's not cheap, but none of the restaurants around here are. When in the mountains, I prefer dishes like elk and free range chicken. The Dover Sole also is a favorite there. They can also do vegetarian dishes like risotto, which is nice. Service was slightly snooty on my visit, but they were nice. I believe the restaurant itself is a historic location, so it's worth a visit.

This was the first restaurant we went to on our first night there. It is a beautiful little house that felt very cozy. Everything we ate was good and the service was fine, but there was nothing that I can remember about the meal that stood out. It felt very average. I don't think you can go wrong by going here but there are a few other places in BC that will wow you.

I'm only giving this restaurant 4 stars and not 5 because it was just shy of a perfect meal. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came to me more medium than medium rare. That said, it still tasted amazing and was easily cut with a butter knife. I ate nearly everything on my plate and then some. It was the perfect place to spend valentines day with the love of my life :)

Beware high prices for what you get!! The quality was just not there... We ordered two appetizers for four to share. Then split two salads and ordered an entree each...we still left hungry. The food was ok but nothing special for the price. We were crammed into a table next to a post ... The server for the next table kept grazing us with his backside throughout the evening as he tended to the other table. We also felt rushed and therefore, skipped dessert to "move along"... Overall, a less than enjoyable evening... But our wallet was $350 lighter. Mirabelle is definitely not worth it.

We had previously visited Mirabelle eight years previously, and had a simply perfect evening. It is that visit that keeps this current rating at 4 stars rather than three, as our recent foray was more disappointing. Let me first note that the Mirabelle owners are nothing but a pleasure to work with, and I would likely consider this visit an aberration. Also, we visited with a large group, which can present unique challenges for any restaurant. Nevertheless... Our appetizers of salmon and cheese puffs were quite good. Things headed downhill from there, primarily due to a cranky waiter who 1) refused to serve sorbet only to a guest rather than a sorbet and peach crisp dessert, 2) upon mixing up salad orders at our table, lectured US that our seating configuration was incorrect, and 3) refused to serve decaf coffee after the meal. To her credit, the owner caught #1 and personally brought a sorbet selection -- great save. My avocado and king crab salad was quite good, though the presence of avocado seemed much smaller than its billing on the menu. My grilled tuna entree was totally overwhelmed by the tomato sauce -- any meat could have been substituted. Lamb and sea bass entrees were highly rated by fellow guests. Chocolate fondant and peach crisp desserts were very good, with particularly high marks for the vanilla yogurt sorbet with the crisp. I hope to give Mirabelle a try again some day when in the area, and hope that some of the service issues can be addressed.

We always explore all kinds of different fine dinning restaurants. We have been to most of the top 50 restaurants in the United States. Surprisingly this restaurant was missed from the ranking. The ingredients are fresh, the cooking technic is on point on all of the dishes. The flavors are fresh and not over seasoned. The service level was impeccable. I would recommend everyone to try the chef daily menu. It will be one of your most memorable meal's.
Great place! Def one of the best in Beaver Creek! Our hotel concierge recommended this place and we were glad we came! Every dish was delicious and made to perfection! We will def go back next year on our ski trip. Not really pricey, when you consider the same quality restaurant in NYC. Worth every penny!

Dinner with friends Friday night. Atmosphere is kinda sweet with small rooms and candlelit ambiance. Server (forgot his name) did the same spiel to all tables around us with his current and past faves. The specials were recited pleasantly as read. The option for one of the starters or entree from the 3 course menu was offered as an whole entree. Rainbow trout sounded great. Wait! First the crab roll was pretty tasty like one would expect from Howard Wangs. Presentation was nice. Then the fish... came in a bowl of watery veggies and succotash. No flavor at all! I couldn't save it with salt or pepper, so just gave up. Two others at the table agreed. Another friend had the halibut and she said it too was uneatable. Dessert was fine according to my friends. I had given up on the place by then. Would I recommend Mirabelle to a friend. Maybe if they really like a step down from cafeteria food. PS the wine was quite pricey. Cocktails were average. All in all I consider it to be a tourist trap, and would not go again.

A wonderful, romantic experience at the best restaurant in Colorado. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance, skilled & attentive staff, and the cuisine is superb. My wife enjoyed it so much she bought the cookbook so we can attempt to recreate our dinners at home. I'm not sure there's anything on the menu we wouldn't recommend ... If anything, I'd suggest letting your waiter guide your experience.

Just past the sentried gates to Beaver Creek on the right sits a charming old farmhouse which has been restored into quiet enclave of exquisite service, warm hospitality and five star dining. Owned and operated by Daniel Joly, the only Certified Belgian Master Chef in the United States along with his gracious wife, Nathalie, who floats through the dining room to greet guests and ensure optimal service, this place is a gem. The menu is classic French/Belgian updated for modern healthy palates with an emphasis on presentation, taste and creativity. My group of three saw a couple of things on the menu which we did not want to miss, but couldn't decide on what else, so we asked the chef to create a custom multi course tasting and surprise us. Surprised we were! We started off with a trio of mini appetizers which included foie gras with peaches, lightly smoked venison carpaccio and a baby arugula salad. Next came a tasting of grilled halibut and we followed with another course of wild boar. Everything was exquisitely plated and cooked to maximize flavor. Before we opted for the desserts on the movable tray, a cheese course came with amazing spiced raisin crisps to sample the brie, bleu, and sheeps cheese. A luscious Crème brûlée was almost the finish of a unbelievable meal, before we were treated to coffee and house made mini cookies and tiny meringues. Everything was perfect. When it comes to service, we had an amazing waiter who offered tips and explanations along the way and made sure that we never waited to have any plates or utensils cleared nor had much time between courses. His experience showed and was appreciated. We enjoyed a bottle of Kendall Jackson Summation Red Wine blend from 2010 and it was an elegant suggested accompaniment to the meal. The wine list itself was impressive, with modest choices available by the glass to price-no-object bottles to satisfy the connoisseur. Nathalie stopped by the table a couple of times through the dinner to chat and make us feel valued. Even Chef Joly came out once during the service to see how we enjoyed his creations. What struck me by the homey charm of the place was how many regulars visited the place and were greeted by name. Many have been coming for years. In fact, the Joly's have worked here for 22 years and owned the historic farmhouse outright for 14 years. The staff works seamlessly in unison to make even a casual evening a special occasion. This is the finest restaurant in the Beaver Creek Valley if, not the greater Vail area. Highly recommended.

located in a quaint house just outside the beaver creek village, mirabelle used to be my favorite restaurant in vail.. last week my family and i left disappointed with the fact that the chef was away (when it was the 'high season') and when our whole table was served collapsed soufflés-at an establishment of this caliber that is absolutely unacceptable.

We were extremely disappointed. The location is cute, the hostesses were polite, but our server was dreadful. The food is delicious and the portions are diminutive. Be prepared for a large bill if you want a full meal. We almost left after seeing the prices on the menu, but decided to splurge and see what they had to offer. My fiancé and I each ordered an entree, and eventually we're offered a teeny tiny hors d'oeuvre that was amazing and very expensive, so we did not order anything additional. Both the chicken dish and the bison steak we ordered were very good so we ate every bit, but we were both hungry after finishing. We declined dessert but were shown the dessert cart anyway. After declining again and asking for our check we were ignored for an additional 15 to 20 minutes. Leftovers from home in the hotel microwave has been a better experience.

Simply a great french style resturant. Good wine list, kid friendly to the max for such a cool place. You will not be disapointed.

Outstanding dinner, service and ambiance. We could actually hear each other speaking. Whatever it cost, it wasn't enough. A must do culinary event when visiting Beaver Creek.

Anyone who visits beaver Creek needs to go to Mirabelle. Probably top 3 restaurant in town. Simply outstanding service, great drinks and delicious food. We loved the ambience as well. It's what you expect in Beaver Creek. Definitely worth checking out and we'll be back!

Excellent food, fantastic location + atmosphere but pricey. We come here everytime we visit. Wine was excellent as well.

We had a lovely and delicious meal at mirabelle. The Dover sole and halibut were delicious and the chocolate molten cake was worth every calorie. Mitch was very attentive and funny. Great night!

We come here for years as a special treat when we go skiing in Beaver Creek and it is definitely the best Gourmet Restaurant in the area. Every year the quality and freshness of the food is still the same and you know you will have an excellent meal and relaxing evening. We both had one of the soups, the daily special appetizer with foie gras and the Dover Sole and would never miss the Soufflé Grand Marnier for dessert to finish a great experience! Service is superb and it's very special to see the same server since over 20 years. Consistency is a wonderful thing :). We bought Daniel Jolly's cook book and can't wait to try the recipes. Hope to be back next year.
