I come for the chips and salsa, and those amazing margaritas ... the Margaritas make this place! The food, all which have been really good, is a added bonus. The menudo was hit and miss for me.

Both my husband and I love this place. It's our favorite Mexican restaurant we've eaten at so far. On the outside it doesn't look like much, but the food tastes amazing. Be warned though: the portions are huge. It's one of those places that you should come hungry to and expect to leave with leftovers.

I absolutely love this place for authentic Mexican Food. However there is literally ONE POOR GIRL serving the entire restaurant while OBVIOUSLY training a new guy. Somehow she is maintaing her cool but I know I wouldn't be. I've worked in the service industry for years and I personally think this is totally unprofessional. Love the food but, come on guys, learn how to treat your staff. Not cool.

Food was good and they gave us plenty but the two stars are because we didn't feel welcomed. That made our time there uncomfortable. Won't be back.

Oh tequila's, how I love you. You just cannot go wrong here!! Another place I frequent quite often!! I have tried multiple dishes and some different types of tequila (but of course) from their extensive menu and it's so delicious!! I want to go right now.... Sigh... But seriously, their carne asada and pollo asada is extremely delicious and tender. The portions are quite large for the price, so you are definitely getting a steal of a deal. The salsa and guacamole is fresh, and my fiancé loves the cabbage dip that comes along at no extra charge. We have also had the soups as well, and have yet to be disappointed. My new favorite is the tostadas with the shrimp, pico, and guacamole. The name escapes me at the moment, but you get the point.. And the margaritas? Now they know how to make a margarita. I favor the skinny margarita myself, but I have got the toro as well and it's awesome. I love this place ( can you tell?) and will continue to go here. With great customer service, that's just the cherry on the sundae. True Mexican food is right here, you just have to go try it out!!

Review is for Friday nights when the Mariachi band is in. I think Tequila's is a 4 star kind of joint but it is turned up to 11 when the Mariachi band is strolling around playing some really quite good music. I was very impressed them. So bring a few extra bucks and show these guys some love when they come by your table. The plates here are HUGE. Really I mean it. I was told they were big by a friend and I scoffed, Shirley, she had no idea what I considered big. Apparently I was wrong. She has an excellent understanding of what big is. I got a super burrito which was pretty good. Claire C. got the carne asada steak which was delish. There were 2.50 blue moons and all the chips and really tasty cabbage you can eat. I would recommend this place to a friend. But go when the music is playing. So much cooler!

Very good Mexican food. The smothered enchiladas have a nice kick to them and it's a big platter. The fajita taco salad is also very very flavorful, you don't even need dressing. Friendly service!

Wow - I was really hoping to be impressed after reading the reviews and seeing the overall rating. What a let down. The food certainly doesn't warrant the rating. I ordered the Arroz Con Pollo which was overpriced considering it had hardly any chicken in it. On top of that, they spread the dish out on a large platter so it appears you are getting more food than you actually are. When I boxed the dish up after eating just a few bites, it looked like any normal portion a restaurant would serve. Aside from the average food, I found the service to be lacking. Not only did it take a while to have our order taken, but after we paid...the waitress immediately saw us put the pen down after tipping and she rushed over to pick up the check. Her statement was that the bussers in the restaurant always throw away the checks so she wanted to get it before they did. Sounds like an excuse to see how much money she just made.

This is my go to Mexican restaurant, it is good food, affordable prices, and close to home. The dinner portions are HUGE. I always get the carne asada and the plate is larger than my stomach. The food is always tasty, the service can sometimes be iffy depending how busy they are. Their website has a buy one entree get the second half off and I always keep a copy on me just in case. My honey and I love coming here and grabbing a few beers and eating some good grub. We always leave with leftovers, and it's the best!

Take a good look at the pictures on the yelp site for this restaurant, the portions are very generous. They offered two kinds of salsa one was cabbage and onion and jalapeno based on the other one was your typical red salsa on the mildly spicy side. One in our party ordered fajitas which came with a generous side of rice and beans and the typical sides. There was not much meat, mostly onions and bell peppers, but the taste was good. Another ordered A combination plate with shredded beef tacos and chicken enchilada. The shredded beef was good quality meat, but the tortillas look more like Taco Bell taco shells, than fresh corn tortillas. I noted in some of the pictures that others had enjoyed fresh. I ordered two chicken tacos, again served in the Taco Bell type tortilla shells. The chips that came out with the sauces were always served warm and our water glasses were never empty and the staff was attentive, but not overly friendly. The menu has lots of pictures and the beans look like they had cheese on them, but, my beans were smothered in red sauce, which I did not enjoy. I don't like going to places that use Taco Bell type taco shells. I will not be back. We only tried it because there is a very wonderful bicycle store a few doors down. The bathrooms were clean and although the restaurant is small, it was packed, so obviously people like it. It is in a strip mall setting.

Fantastic food! Cabbage salsa is uniquely favorable. The seafood and pork pozole are delicious and Huge! 5 stars for the food- slight issue with speed of service during non-peak time... Definitely a return engagement in the future

The service was phenomenal, the margaritas were perfect and the food was delicious. This is my new favorite for authentic**** Mexican food. The staff treats everyone like family. A MUST try if you haven't already!!!!!

We just went into Tequila's and the place was packed. The server took our order. 2 minutes later, they showed up with food. Very suspicious. My three year old son had ordered the Chicken Fingers. When I cut them up, I noticed the chicken was RAW! Really? You are going to serve a three year old raw chicken???? Disgusting. We left immediately and we will never go back. Serving undercooked chicken is dangerous and irresponsible. Shame on you.

Service was slow and we didn't feel welcome. Been here a few times, but this was the first time we sat in the bar. I'm not sure if I would come back any time soon.

Esoteric. The food was soooo good and pregnant with flavor. (Chicken tortilla soup!!!). Lucita is amazing ! Order the guacamole. A Mexican restaurant is only as good a sits guac

This is a fantastic family restaurant. The staff are always friendly and prompt and are very helpful with helping us choose from the diverse menu. I always end up getting the steak fajitas here which always comes out fantastic. The skillet comes out sizzling hot and the portions are huge. I love that they also have free chips and salsa. They make their salsa in house so it always tastes fresh and delicious. I also enjoy their dessert menu, their churros are excellent. They come out hot and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. This is a great establishment and if you are craving Mexican food I'd go here. Also the prices are fantastic, so you won't be spending a whole bunch, but make sure to tip your waiters well :)

It was just ok.... Prices pretty steep. I would not go back. If your new in town try real de minas , a lot cheaper and better quality of food!

Amazing food, but TERRIBLE service. All of the waitresses were sitting and joking around in the booth right next to us. Our waitress checked up on us every 15 minutes with food in her mouth, chewing while she talked to us. I was impressed by the food, but I've never seen such unprofessional wait staff

    (1)
  • Catherine D.

The food, service, and drinks are pretty good!!! The margarita was poured with a very heavy hand (could it have been an extra shot of tequilla?) And their cole slaw they serve with the chips and salsa us definitely something different then what most Mexican places serve (and is very tasty). Their chicken enchilada plate was very flavorful...I plan to come back again!

Fast preparation, got seated right away on a Friday afternoon. The fajitas Para dos was delicious and sizzling. Sangria was liquori and refreshing. Great service. fair pricing for what you get. Will be most likely coming back with family members.

Very busy place, obviously poplar. Good selection of mixed drinks; we tried several and all were tasty. Tortilla soup was full of unexpected flavors, with fresh veggies mixed in with the chicken, cheese and tortillas. Very tasty. Chicken fajitas also had an unexpected seasoning but were alright. Decor was very colorful. We will be going here again. Rating a four on first impression, but might be a five with further good meals

I had family from out of town decide that they wanted Mexican food for lunch. I'm not familiar with food in Aurora as I don't live there but heard recommendations on this place. Unfortunately, it was possibly the worst meal I've had in my short 22 years on this planet. There were two positives about the entire experience: fast service and a cheap tab for 5 people who all ordered full sized meals ($45 before a tip). That was the end of the good, now on to the bad. The food here is sickeningly bad. I ordered cheese and onion enchiladas thinking that that was a "safe" dish to order. The enchilada sauce tasted like the sauce you get in a Chef Boyardee can of ravioli. It was terrible to say the least. My aunt ordered two different enchiladas and a tamale and they were all covered in the ravioli sauce; she took about two bites of each one before she couldn't bear to take another bite. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Tequila's... Now I do not consume any alcoholic beverages, so I must say that I almost didn't come here due to the name of the restaurant. However, I read great reviews about the food and authenticity of the establishment, so I decided to come. Good choice. This place is a little gem in Colo. the restaurant itself is quaint and very welcoming and I love the decor. We were welcomed in with a smile and the waitresses and severs were friendly. The immediately brought out chips and 2 kinds of salsas. The one is a traditional red salsa and the other was with shredded cabbage, cilantro and some other yummy goodness that I'm forgetting right now. Both were so delish! I judge a Mexican restaurant by their salsa and both salsa definitely made me excited about ordering food here. :-) oh and the chips were warm and yummy too! Tons of choices, but I opted for something simple: carne asada quesadilla. Soooo good! The carne was well seasoned, nicely grilled, moist and tender. So good!! And such huge portions too!! This made 3 meals. Love their food! I'm a fan. Will come back next time I'm in town!

This was my first time at Tequilas, it was real, authentic Mexican cuisine! I had big pineapple with shrimp I believe it called Cancun!) Flan dessert was the best in Denver! Very cozy, cute interior!

  • Zach U.

Wonderful experience. The staff was pleasant and efficient, the food was delicious with sizable portions at reasonable prices, the jumbo house margarita was scrumptious, and they even had a roaming Mariachi band which was fun. Have I had better Mexican food? Yes, I've been to a place with out-of-this-world guac and better chips (not that the chips here weren't good, they're great). But I don't mean that to say Tequila's wasn't great -- it was -- and my wife and I will definitely go again if not make this a staple.

Have only ordered take out from Tequila's. With that being said love the portion size and options they offer. The quesadilla's are easily enough for two people and the fajitas are delicious. The staff is always nice and they'll usually have sports on the TV's so it makes the wait inside go by fast.

With a name like Tequila's, who wouldn't love this place!?! The food is always pretty stellar and comes out freshly made and hot. I have had everything from the Carne Asade to burritos to enchiladas and am always happy with my choice. Before your meal, you can snack on fresh chips and salsa, and this weirdly-tasty cabbage salsa/dip that is actually quite good. I'm usually not the biggest fan of cabbage like this, but for some reason the ingredients put into the dish makes it work. And of course, the margaritas and their tequila selection is pretty great. A nice surprise is their house margarita is actually pretty hefty on the tequila, unlike every other mexican restaurant I know where it is mostly sour mix. You can tell that they actually use fresh lime juice which makes a difference IMHO.

Bad food with slow service. Can it be any worse. I am getting tired of yelp reviews for places like this. We drive 25 miles for this place and totally not worth it. I think this place is more of a bar with a full menu. The menu had 3 pages dedicated to alcohol. So who cares for taste when you are drunk right?? All our food was cold, tasteless and soggy. It hard to screw up Mexican food but they did it. Chips salsa was too spicy and we like spicy food. I asked for my fajitas spicey and they were so spicey I could not eat them. Everyone around our table had trouble breathing when they brought them out. Anyways I feel this is a local joint.

Some of the best Mexican food I've had in Colorado. That's not saying much, but Tequila's offers a lot and it's pretty good. I wish it weren't quite so greasy, but that won't deter me from returning.

FINALLY! Some authentic Mexican food (sorry, I've been living in Michigan for two years). Food here is amazingly delicious! The portions are big, and delicious. My husband and I shared the combination plate with chicken, shrimp, steak, rice, beans, etc. We had so much food we even brought some home. Definitely recommend this place. We will be coming back.

I don't know why this place has 4 stars, its not that great. We ordered a spinach quesadilla, deluxe nachos, fajita chicken tacos, and chicken fajitas. Everything wasn't that great. First of all my brother who is 11 ordered 2 chicken tacos but they don't sell them alone because he wanted the grilled chicken. And he couldn't eat3. And he only ate 1 because it wasn't that good. The nachos were terrible, the cheese just comes off the chips and were soggy. There was no way i could eat them because of how soggy they are. The fajitas were also terrible the smoke when they first came made everyone cough because the smell was so strong. And finally the spinach quesadilla. The quesadilla was alright except for one thing. The quesadilla was so soggy. Again everything we ordered was just terrible.

Cabbage salsa was excellent very different spin never been to a Mexican restaurant that offered this/i had the steak nachos which was very good! WARNING! they give you a lot of food/so good for groups!

  • Jennifer R.

The queso tasted alright but had the consistency of a really thick glue. The tequila selection is crazy vast, tequila enthusiasts rejoice! The margarita (we got it made with Don Julio) was DELICIOUS and not skimpy on the alcohol. It was not too sweet like most places and was really well made. The food (okay, okay so I got a hamburger. In Texas a good Mexican food place makes a crazy good hamburger... I guess not in Colorado?) was...lackluster. My husband got a Mexican dish, some sort of chicken, which was really dry. The menu is so extensive though, it's HUGE, so I am not surprised that everything is not good. There was potential so I'm sure there are a few items on the menu that are good, unfortunately, we didn't know what to order. LONG STORY SHORT, I would have given it two stars, but the margarita saved the day by being amazing. I guess either know what to order or eat after a few margaritas... anything would taste good after throwing one or two of those bad boys back!

Came here for dinner with the family and i have to say, the food is delish! The portions are huge!! The cabbage salsa is very good! I give it 3 stars because our waiter was not very attentive (had to wait 20 minutes for some water) and the food took forever to come out (not fun with a hungry 4 and 2 yr old). Will prob try one more time to see if we get better service, only because the food was great!

A great place for margaritas after work! Our server was friendly and the food was authentic! Try the fried mushrooms as an appetizer!

My husband and I have been coming to Tequila's pretty much on a weekly basis for about 5 years and have yet to experience anything less than top-notch food and service. B at chips and salsa in town!

We love this place. We first visited the Tequila's in Evergreen, but realized later that they have a location much closer to our house and it's just as good. Jeremy and I were at Tequila's on Havana last night. We walked into fun mariachi music this time. The band was really well dressed and entertaining, plus the music was good. I wasn't super hungry and ordered the ground beef taco salad. I usually get a combination, but knew that would be too much food. Jeremy got a favorite, the carne asada. Of course, we started with chips, spicy salsa, and the cabbage slaw that they serve with their chips and salsa. Jeremy's plate was massive. We've gotten carne asada for lunch, but the dinner portion is just huge. It does come with a roasted jalapeno. We actually asked the waitress to verify that it was a jalapeno because they always seem spicier at Tequila's for some reason. Our waitress said that it could be that the cooks roll the jalapeno before cooking it, like the waitress's mom does, to up the heat, but she said it was indeed a jalapeno. My salad was huge, too. The lettuce on top hid a ton of meat on the bottom of the fried shell. Everything was tasty, as it has been in the past, and we usually use coupons from the back of King Soopers's receipts for a discount on the second meal. Overall, it's a good value and great food!

Went here for lunch today based on the reviews, and have to say we will not be coming back. The highlight of the meal was my son's chicken quesadilla (lots of chicken and plenty of rice/beans). My mom got the special (chicken verde something) and I got the enchilladas suiza and I think my son's kids plate had more chicken than both of the adult plates combined. The service was slow for a lunch time (and with 2 young kids they really could be quicker since both were getting antsy). With 4 stars, I was really expecting to enjoy the meal, but I guess being from Texas, I need to adjust my mexican food standards down a bit.

I don't hand out 5 stars willy nilly. Usually there has to be something involving mushrooms or a great degree of user choice. This had neither, but was DELICIOUS. I got the Taco Fajita Salad (basically a tostada) with chicken. The chicken was *heavenly*. The onions and peppers were good too. And they drizzled a teeny amount of shredded cheese on it to make it even better. And then there were the churros. Good heavens they were good. Definitely not the frozen sticks you get from Costco--these were homemade and uhhh-MAZING. Especially with the chocolate and whipped cream and honey topping. Ridiculous how good it was. (Just make sure your doctor isn't watching... I won't tell if you won't!) And maybe the best part: for two entrees, two drinks, and a dessert, we paid just a smidge over $30 for two people! (Yay happy hour margaritas!) I wasn't as impressed with the margaritas... Granted, we each got the house margarita blended, so it wasn't going to be great.... And happy hour ones generally aren't great either. But I was impressed at the flavor selection-I've never seen blackberry as a flavor before! So overall a GREAT experience! And for those who had difficulty finding the place, it's in the strip mall across the street from the car dealers, and right next to a big bike store. Burn provecho! (That's Spanish for Enjoy!)

Love, LOVE! We walk into the Tequlia's in Aurora on a Friday night and were greeted by a live Mariachi Band and friendly staff. The Colorado Fajitas were heavenly! The fish was lightly breaded and crispy and the perfect amount of salt, the shrimp was huge and cooked perfectly. We got the combination appetizer and it was HUGE! My friend got the diablo prawns which I tried, amazing flavor! The Mariachi Band came over to our table and danced and sang. I had a great time, what an amazing, fun, bright, colorful atmosphere, almost like being at a carnival. We can't wait to go back!

  • Anna K.

I am very, very surprised that they have 4 stars. Their salsa is sweet, their chips aren't special, the avocado has no flavor at all, their slaw isn't too enjoyable and their drinks give you a stomachache. Their food is just not good and neither is their service. I definitely regretted coming here.

  • Gadi F.

The only reason I gave this place two stars is because the staff is very nice, As for the food; the rice and beans were very salty and the chile relleno was greasy and soggy. The manager stopped at our table to ask how everything was. I told him that the food was very salty and he didn't even flinch, or say anything. Too bad because we would have become regulars if the food was better.

CARNE ASADE! some of the best I have ever had. Margaritas are cheap, big, and delicious. Get the Jumbo size, though, cause its worth it. The chips and salsa are decent, about as good as it gets in Colorado. I'm from Southern California where every Mexican place has authentic homemeade chips and salsa, so it's hard to compare here. Fajitas are delicious as well. They send coupons in the mail, which are awesome so save em!

So good. I went here because I was craving fried ice cream and the Mexican place I've been frequenting has not only been really rude lately but they screwed my order up again. So, I found this place not too far away, intending to only get the ice cream but when I saw the menu I decided to re-order what I had just got from the other place that screwed up my order. I got a shredded beef burrito, with rice and cheese only- green chili on the side and the ice cream, and it comes with chips and salsa. The order was less than $10 (just the burrito and chips at the other place was $12, they were out if the ice cream). When I got home the burrito at Tequila was nearly twice the size compared to the place I usually order from and the flavor was amazing. The beef was so flavorful and tender, and it wasn't mostly fat. I loved the green chili so much, I ate some of it with a spoon! I will admit, the one thing I'm not a fan of, and I don't know if this is a CO thing, but the Spanish rice is more like a Spanish rice pilaf. It has a lot of veggies (carrots, green beans, corn, etc) in it. It's not bad, just different, maybe indeed to ask for plain Spanish rice. On to the fried ice cream, it was also huge, and delicious. To top it off the gentleman who was there was friendly, on the quiet side but very nice. I'm picky about my food and he showed me what was best to order (the menu us huge). I got it to go and It was cooked quickly. A very nice thing that I appreciated was my to go plate was wrapped in foil to keep warm, a plate was put over the burrito, so it wouldn't get squished and then wrapped in foil again. I picked it up during rush hour, when I got home 15-20 minutes later it was still nice and hot. I'll defiantly be back. ****Oh, by the way, just in response to the other reviewer, there is a warning right in the menu, clear as day, about possible peanut contamination. But if you have an allergy that severe, you should probably ask anyway.

Great little local family-style place. Generous portions and a huge tequila menu make this a great spot. Don't let the location or the outside image scare you off...its def worth a visit!

Margaritas, margaritas, margaritas! Tequilla's has ruined me for all other margaritas, they make it with Sauza, which is not exactly top of the line, but they make them smooth and STRONG. Three and I am three sheets to the wind. Margaritas are the reason I go here primarily. Now, food- from the vegetarian perspective- leaves a little to be desired. I love their chips and salsa (seems lame, but if first impressions are everything, then chips and salsa should say a lot about a mex place), their spinach quesadilla is huge filling and pretty awesome, I love their beans and as far as I can tell, no lard in them and their nachos are one of my favorite guilty pleasures, and there's a lot of them. They have a couple other options, like veg burrito, but having a bunch of veggies in a tortilla doesn't do it for me, that's more of a wrap. Also the usual suspects, bean burritos, cheese enchilladas, fried mushrooms, queso... etc On the other page, for you meat eaters, every meat eater I go with likes their food. I hear the chicken enchiladas and carne asada are good, so go nuts. But overall come for the margaritas, stay for the margaritas. Happy hour is 2-5 M-F buy one get one, 6.50 a pop for house marg, so HH is definitely worth it!

ALLERGY ALLERT. This restaurant uses PEANUT ingredients. I went there and had immediate, severe allergic reaction to the enchilada after two bites. Families with children who have a sensitivity to peanuts should avoid eating here. I should have asked before ordering. (But I had eaten there before with no ill effects.) No where on the menu or in the restaurant was there an allergy warning. I spent Saturday in the hospital ER. No "trace" ingredients here--pure, concentrated peanut. For me, this could have been lethal. I am reposting this. Funny--the review was removed. I wonder why? FARE (Food Allergy & Education) and the CO Department of Health have both contacted me about this posting. This is a serious health issue. Awareness helps.

We've eaten here twice now. The first time we came it was a nice quiet atmosphere. The food was great and we enjoyed ourselves. The second visit was on a Friday night when the Mariachi band was playing. We were seated fairly close to the bar and the band. So, the noise level was really high. It was a fun and festive atmosphere though. It certainly seems like a special hang-out for some regulars. We will certainly go back sometime, but probably avoid Friday nights with the band. It was just too loud for our liking. The cabbage salsa is unique and very tasty. I recommend trying it! I had the Carne Asada. I will often get it at new Mexican restaurants just because I am comfortable with it. Its a good way to test how their other food will be. I have to say it was excellent.

HOLY CRAP! That was the BEST mexican food I have ever had! We walked in, looked around and thought with the super hokey atmosphere we were going to get a disneyland version of mexican food. I couldnt have been more wrong! We are both big carne asada fans, so we both ordered it. OMG! I will really have a hard time ordering anything else on the menu because it was soooooo good! But I will have to try, in the name of food. A MUST TRY!

I really wanted to like this place. It's close to our house, the reviews were good. But it just did not deliver. We sat outside. They have a decent patio except even with the beautiful sunset, really all you could see was the parking lot. I would add some trees/bushes so that you aren't just looking at a parking lot when sitting out there. Anyway, service was very slow. I will admit I am a Margarita snob. Tried their house marg on the rocks and it was soooooo watery. I would never order it again. My husband had the sangria which was better buy certainly not a real sangria. It has strawberry daiquiri mix in it for sure. We shared the fajitas for 2--chicken and steak. They were ok. Nothing to write home about, nothing to complain about. Took a good 15 minutes to get the check. All and all I'm a Denver native and therefore I love Mexican food (and expect a lot) so take that into consideration... but I was very disappointed.

Very good food. Chips and salsa are good, although the salsa was too hot for the wife and kids. We have had several versions of the combo plates. All were very good. Portions are quite large. The décor, particularly the carved and painted benches are pretty cool. Margaritas didn't have they best flavor, but they did have the kick! I am a fan. I used to go to Dora's, but I have given up on them. Tequila's is my new favorite in Aurora.

A little slice of Mexico crossed our path tonight. Pastel painted benches, stamped copper art on the walls and hand painted tables. I have spent some time south of the border and walking into this restaurant reminded me of some of the places I had been to while in Mexico. Very authentic visually. Mrs. K and I decided to stop in here after reading the reviews here on Yelp. We are always looking for great Mexican food. We weren't disappointed tonight. The only thing we missed was the Mariachi band. We had heard that they played here in Friday nights, not tonight however. We began our visit with a couple frozen drinks, I had the Mango Margarita, Yum! and Mrs. K had a Strawberry Daiquiri. Both were delicious! Our server was on the ball as well. Very attentive. a little too attentive at times! LOL The menu is quite large and it took us some time to get through it and make up our minds. I think we had to ask her to come back at least three times. She was very anxious to take our order! We started off with the Nachos Deluxe, or at least wanted to start off with the Nachos. I'll get back to that in a minute. For our entrees, Mrs. K ordered the Steak Ranchero and I got the Grande Combination with two Chili Rellanos and a B&B Burrito. I also asked for a side of tomatillo salsa. So, typically when you order an appetizer it comes before your meal. Not here. The Nachos showed up with our entrees! And I swear it was no longer than 5 minutes after we ordered. It was quick! Mrs. K enjoyed her steak very much. and my rellanos were delicious. The green chili was very tasty but there was no heat factor. Good thing I got the tomatillo salsa, it actually had some heat and I used it liberally while eating my dinner. The food here was quite good. =] We finished up with an order of Sopapilla's. So good! whipped cream on top with drizzled chocolate. Yum! A very nice find indeed, we have already decided that we will be back! -MK

IMHO, I like the lunch plates better. Tequilas has good food, don't get me wrong. Though the last time I ordered the Dinner portion Tacos al Carbon, it came on a plate the size of a PIZZA PAN and dripping with grease....ick. The lunch portions are much more moderate.

We went here, for the 3rd time, last night. Really good food ! I had Pork Shanks, new, with a very good Mole. The portions are ample, drinks are also very good.

I'm not a fan of mexican food in general so I'm not one to really judge but my husband and his entire group of friends lovesloves this chain. This is actually Tequilas, fyi. The tequila pour is always a favorite at the table and the chiquita booms are a serious must.

I would have given it 0 stars but it wouldn't let me. Reason being is that my partner and I went today and he ordered pork tacos, I ordered Enchiladas suizas. The food was disgusting!!!! First bite and we stopped eating. We both noticed that the meat and the chicken tasted like it was yesterday's food. We spoke withy the manager and he did nothing!!!! Never going back again!!!!!!!! It's a food poising waiting to happen.

This place got great reviews and so we decided to check it out. Its in a strip mall over in Aurora by Bicycle village. I think the front patio look enticing and especially with the margaritas and the nice spring evening. The Mariachi band and friendly service makes this a good local hangout. I like the fact that they have something I've never tried before, which is the cabbage salsa. I give them props for it, but they need to take a page out of KFC's book and make sure they cut the cabbage finely instead of in ribbons. Hard to scoop up the salsa on a chip when it is cut that way. The cheese dip that was raved about was pretty good too. Overall, not sure that Tequileno's has the mojo to keep us coming back, but then again we are always trying to do something new.

Strap on a feed bag! This place is great! Big portions ( doggy bag...yes please), great drink selections, salsa was a delight on the tastebuds, and a little mariachi band playing in the background! We were all really impressed with each of our meal selections. No compliants. Clean bathrooms, speedy friendly service, and a list of various tequila's to sample. (one on the menu was $100 a shot... didn't try it, but it better be good!) Good coupons to use at this place, but the prices are very reasonable and everything tasted great! Check it out!

Loved this place. I had the shrimp fajitas and they were fantastic. Big, plump shrimp - about 8 of them and all the fixins'. I don't know what they do to saute their onions, but they were amazing. Margaritas were very tasty as well. The mariachi band was super fun and created a very festive atmosphere. I'm picky about Mexican and Tequila's is as good as it gets for authentic, non-nonsense and fun Mexican food.

With so many Mexican restaurants in Arizona where we live, this authentic Mexican Food reminded be of some of the best places in Phoenix...good service, Old Mexico-type decor and great prices.

We just ate here for the first time today. Oh my goodness!!! I can't believe we've been missing out and it's only a mile from our house. The margaritas are perfect and the food is OUTSTANDING.

First- their location is the hardest to find in Denver; their signage is very different at this location than their other locations which causes additional confusuion. The so-called patio is a joke ( The Arvada location has a great patio). Inside they have a new menu the size of a very large magazine filled with UBER: pictures and choices. In spite of this locations, the food and service is excellent. The shrimp with hongos (mushrooms) is super , near perfect. If you don't mind spending twenty minutes finding its' secret location you'll be rewarded with a very nice and comfortable experience.

This place is actually Tequila's Aurora. The owner from the Golden Tequilas and some of his all star staff were even there. They even recognized me from the other store and stopped by to chit chat and share a tequila pour. I love it!

Great place for lunch! Dinner size portions at lunch prices, expect to take leftovers with you. Free chips and salsa and even some kind of pickled vegetables to boot. The taste and quality of the food doesn't hurt either, definitely one of the better Mexican restaurants in Denver.

Pretty crappy. And the next day it repeats and is even more crappier on the toilet. Rude staff.. Horrible service. How do you screw up Mexican food?

I came here for lunch on a friday around noon and was pleasantly suprised. The bf and I were seated promptly and given chips and salsa. He ordered a chimichanga and I got carnitas tacos. Our order came out w/in what seemed like 5 minutes. His chimichanga was not that great, but my carnita tacos made up for it! I would definitely come back to try more of their food.

Tequilas is basically your average mexican restaurant with the exception of their margaritas. This place makes them strong and when you hit the M-F happy hour, have a cab on standby. Other than that, their food is standard: good but nothing to write home about.

    (4)
  • Michael H.

The margaritas are stiff and the benches look hand carved. Dining here is like taking a quick trip to Mexico. Staff is efficient and helpful. Food is decent but way short of gourmet offerings. Prices reasonable. Try it, see what you think!

Delicious!!! Got the grilled chicken quesadilla appetizer as my meal. It was amazing! Best mexican chicken I've had! Would love to come back and try everything else on the menu!

So... I have yet to find a 5 star Mexican joint in CO... until now. This place would get 4-5 stars usually but the fact that my wife (who does not care for Mexican) craves this place makes this a yelp 'woohoo! As good as it gets!' choice. We go at least once a month and it's always good. The cabbage salsa is top of the charts and I have yet to find any other place that serves it. I can't say the same for the regular salsa - not a fan. The fajitas are always very good but my favorite is the Burrito of the sea / seafood burrito (or something like that). This item is an amazing mess of seafood and sauce!!!! Mmmmmm. Highly recommend.

People aren't kidding. The Pork Carnitas plate is ridiculous. I can't even explain how juicy, delicious and HUGE the dish is. Or maybe I just have. Bring a friend. Great, kind service, though the flavored margaritas were a bit on the sugary side, even by sugary, flavored margarita standards.

    (5)
  • Dave S.

Good Carnitas!!! There are so many ways to make carnitas. I can tell this one has manteca which gives it more flavor. They don't use a fatty pork shoulder, so it's more lean then other carnitas. The lack of the fat also means there is no crunchy chicarone type texture to the carnitas. That's why I will say they are good, but not great. Good flavor with so-so texture.

Went here for lunch today with some co-workers and was blown away by the lunch special. $5.99 for a veritable feast! Today's special was a heap of carnita's, tortillas, rice, beans, guacamole, & pork green chile. Can't beat that! Plus the chips and salsa and mexican coleslaw were borderline addicting.

Aaaawwweeeeesome. There's nothing that I can really say that others haven't already said (Except it needs to be mentioned that Happy Hour with 2for1 Margs is ONLY MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY!) The ladyfriend and I went by here excited for margs, and there was no happy hour for Friday -- but that didn't take away from the experience at all. Large portions, as one would expect, great taste - awesome flavor! And large tasty margs that definitely don't short you on the tequila. Total tab was like $40 for 4 full meals (hooray leftovers!) and I had a two item combo with skirt steak and some tortilla dressings to make them little...thingies....plus a chimi, and the usual rice and beans. Washed it down with a jumbo Cuervo 1800 marg, and of course got way too full on chips and (delicious) salsa beforehand and it made for a wonderful meal from my side of the table. The ladyfriend went with an awesome mole burrito that she loved (for both meals!) and a mango margarita that didn't disappoint. She liked the cabbage salsa as well as the regular salsa, and enjoyed the beans and rice. The rice itself, come to think of it, was so much better than we thought -- overall an excellent meal. Super service, great, speedy attention, food that was just awesome -- and it's like three blocks from my house. You can bet I'll be going to this place for happy hour after work every now and then! I don't know what El Tequileno means, but as far as I'm concerned it means "We make you fat because our food and margaritas are delicious and you can't stop eating or drinking any of it." Well, maybe not...there's a syllable mismatch there... Try El Tequileno, it's buried into a strip mall, but it's totally a hidden treasure, you'll be glad you went.

My wife and I have been coming to Tequila's (that is the new name of the place) for a while now. We have lived in Santa Fe, NM which has some of the best Mexican/New mexican food in the region so we think we know what good Mexican food should be. Tequila's food is very flavorful and the meats have always been tender and well prepared. Their beans are well seasoned and they give you huge portions with most dishes. Also, they know how to mix a great margarita. Their marg prices are fair and they pour heavy. Sometimes the manager will walk around with a bottle of tequila and offer you a free shot poured into your mouth too on a weekend night! The chile rellenos are one of my favorite things to get here, but you can't go wrong with a burrito or fajitas either. From what I've found, they are the best Mexican place in the area. Also, their free chips/salsa (red and pickled cabbage choices) are delicious.

There has been a change in management and/or ownership. The once pleasant Friday evening has been overtaken by the loud, conversation prohibitive mariachi band. If you would like to actually dine with your company, choose another night.

$5.99 Tacos Al Carbon, very flavorful not bland like u find at most places. First time @Tequila's and they won me over. Will be back whenever the Mexican food craving hits. Very reasonable prices, fast service and outstanding food. A+ in my book.

I moved from Southern California earlier this year and have had a really hard time finding good Mexican food here in the Denver area. I was really spoiled in California and have to admit that is what I miss the most. I have been to Tequila's for lunch a few times and it is the best Mexican food I have found in the area so far (I have tried a lot of places). The service is pretty fast which is nice at lunch time. I have tried a few different dishes and have not been disappointed yet.

I have now eaten here twice, and loved it both times. The first time I had the carnitas, and enjoyed it greatly. The second time, I thought I would try something a little different from my norm, and I ordered a combo plate. Very unusual for me, but I had a hunch. I had the chile relleno, a chimichanga with picadillo and a burrito with chicharonnes. Que bueno, and not like the normal frozen dinner combo plates you get elsewhere. I never thought I would say this to you, but try the combo plate.

The live mariachi band was fun. The service was fast and attentive. The drinks were delicious. The food... it was okay. Good chips and salsa, but my burrito was a little bland. Not my favorite, but I'd go back!

We really like this place. The staff is always friendly & polite and service is good: they keep your water glass full as well as the chip and salsa coming. Everything I've ever ordered I enjoyed (Posole, Chicken Enchiladas, Carnitas, Tacos & Chile Rellenos) We've had good drinks there too (mojitos, margaritas and a pina colada once too) they also have a smooth light colored cheese dip that's addictively good, and a marinated slaw that automatically comes with the chips and salsa that's really really addictive! . On Friday nights there's a Mariachi band that's very loud but very entertaining, they barely all fit in the aisles between the tables but they seem like really nice guys.

Yep ! this place is GREAT !!!! We have been coming here since they opened great food great Margaritas great owner/ Staff. great prices but..... They had an awesome Happy hour everyday 3-7 but they got rid of it now it is mon-thur 3-6 :( no happy hour on Friday those were the happiest hours oh well that's the only reason the got 4 stars instead of five.

After Googling this place, it was easy to find. It's right next to Village Bicycle on Havana. Note, they changed the name to Tequila's. Got their carnitas plate. Pretty good portions. Not that many crispy edges on the pork but the pork was very tender and tasty. It's served with rice, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, and 4 tortillas. It's a lot of food as I could only eat half. I'll definitely order this again.

We were so surprised to walk in to this restaurant and see such a delightful decorated inside. I loved all the carved benches... It is also nice to get a great margarita... Took us back to Mexico. I had my usual of two cheese enchiladas which did not disappoint... My husband had carnitas which is a huge portion of tender meat.... We took some home and can not wait to have some for lunch. all in all a great meal.

The server was attentive, food came out quickly, enjoyed the salsa. I got carnitas and my husband got a shrimp dish. Both were good. I never like the re-fried beans or rice provided at most restaurants, have to remember to tell them to keep it off my plate :)

On 12/8/12 I decided to have dinner at Tequila's with a friend. We were appalled at the incompetent and rude service by our waitress. She intentionally made every effort to ignore me. She most likely was never trained in relating to the public in a courteous manner. So, I decided for the first time in my life to not leave a tip for someone that thought being rude rewarded one with a tip. However, after having not left a tip for poor service, to my surprise, after viewing my bank statement the rude incompetent waitress decided to award herself a four dollar tip. I thought she was not deserving of a tip of a 20% given that she did not provide any service. I addressed the issue with management and was informed that I would be reimbursed. However, to this date I have not received anything. I would recommend all people who cater businesses for great customer service and honesty not attend this underworld establishment. There are so many Mexican Restaurants to choose from in the Denver metro area, so why attend one that does not value your patronage and have staff that are willing to pad their tip if unsatisfied with the tip given.

I grew up in Arizona and after being in the mid-west for the past few years I have missed having a good Mexican food restaurant near by. Unfortunately, I live in Golden and this is not close to me, but it's worth the drive! I make it a point to eat at El Tequileno at least once a month. Their chicken mole is outstanding! Best I've ever had! I've tried other things on their menu and it's all delicious, but I keep going back for the mole.

This place is the real deal. I've tried all the Mexican joints in Denver (Patzquaro, Jack and Jills, all the usual suspects) and there are only 2 great places in my mind, El Tequileno and D'corazon. I lived in Mexico for 3 years and am a bonafide mexican food snob. El Tequileno is fabulous. Unbelievable Pollo Asado, Carnitas and other traditional Mexican dishes. Inexpensive and friendly service. I think this must be the same ownership as Tequila's in Trinidad Colorado which is also outstanding.

Ewwww. Not sure why this place has the rating it does. Maybe the extensive tequila menu has clouded everyone's judgement...the tequila menu is the only reason to go here. The food is less than average. Noble Sysco food service low quality high sodium crap. No spice no flavor, all tasted like it came out of a can. Premade processed crap. Service was poor we had to ask for several things, even napkins. One star for carrying Oro Azul tequila.

Ridiculoso! Awesomiento! Love this place more than life itself!!! Ok, well almost. A couple highlights: stays open late (came here from the airport when no where else was open), when I asked for a lime the waiter gave me a whole lime cut in half- omg I basically asked him to propose right then and there... But about the food: huge portions, perfectly seasoned; filling and muy delicioso!!! Nuff said.

Aside from good Margaritas the food was pretty bad. Also they have a large framed photo of an entrée at ever table which was kinda nasty. I will not be returning to this place.

This is my favorite place to go for Mexican food! They have a few all over Denver, but this one has the best green chilli!!!! It doesn't hurt that their margs are amazing too! Everything that I have tried has been great! Go hungry, because their portions are huge and you won't want to stop eating, it is so good!

After reading the positive reviews, my husband and I went to try it out and it is a charming family restaurant with colorful booths and huge portions of excellent food from an extensive menu. I even got serenaded by the mariachi band! The sign on the front of the restaurant says "Tequilas" in case you get confused because it doesn't say "El Tequileno" which it does say on the menus inside. It looks very unassuming from the outside and it's located in a outdoor mall that seems kind of dead, but it's definitely worth going to for some great local eats. We just moved to the area and are very happy to have found our new go-to Mexican restuarant.

Back in January, I received something in the mail about a free 6-month trial for the Preferred Clientele Club. Benefits included discounts at area restaurants. One of those restaurants happened to be El Tequileno. We love Mexican and thought we'd give it a try. Their discount was supposed to be Buy One Entree, Get One Free at either Lunch or Dinner. I'd say the food was good, but we probably won't go back. The bill came. I showed our server my sticker so we could get the discount applied. The server didn't know anything about it, but went and asked the manager. She came back and said they could only offer 50% off the second entree. They completely went back on their program offering. We even asked to speak to the manager. He gave some bullsh*t story about why they couldn't give the full discount. I was really pissed off because the only reason we came here was due to the discount. False advertising! I filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau. The restaurant never responded to the BBB's letters. They never refunded my money (even though it was only $5). It's the principal of the situation. Honor your word. I left there with an extremely bad taste in my mouth. I hope you're happy, El Tequileno. You lost, what could have been, a lifetime customer (or at least as long as we live here). Instead, I will never recommend your restaurant to anyone.

This is our current favorite for Mexican. Great vegetarian and seafood choices, reasonably priced, service is great and the food is always fantastic!

  • Thomas S.

So, I have decided to give El Tequileno an extra star. Two reasons: 1) Their staff is super nice and attentive and 2) Two for 1 margaritas before 7pm. Any marg. Not just the house. Making the happy hour special last until 7pm gives me enough time to go home, get changed into my comfy clothes and still have enough time to down two jumbo margs. Their food is good, though I might find reason to complain about their menu being too long - it'll take you at least five minutes to read through all of the dinner options. I really recommend their chile verde - some of the best that I have had at a Denver restaurant-tastes like spicy butter! Their asada is yummy as well. In fact, I've liked everything on their menu. Combine that with an adorably cute decor and full liquor menu and you are ready to have yourself a good time.

Curent Mexican favorite factoring in the owner's handsomeness (muy guapo,) the mariachi band on Sunday, large portions, and good service. Yes, it's in an odd Aurora strip mall, but my kids love to see the band come by the table. They have Cancun-style seafood which is scary in landlocked Denver, but never have had a miss. The owner remembers us every time we go and is appreciative of our business. Their bar has been active with Mexican men every time we've been in. Who knows? Unbelievably diverse Tequila menu.

Okay I've never written a review before but feel compelled to share my opinion of this awesome restaurant. We accidentally happened upon it after going to one of Bicycle Village's buy back sells. It was a half hour before opening but they still welcomed us with open arms. The wait staff was prompt and friendly. I was impressed with the homemade chips and the cabbage salsa. The menu was extensive and I've made it a point to chose something different on the five occasions we've been. We've had the Toro margarita which is a mix of their house margarita and Mexican beer and it is potent and delicious. They have 2-1 specials on their margarita's from 3-7 plus half price appetizers making it an affordable night for a family. The lunch menu is immense with prices about thirty percent less then their dinner menu. We've gone there as a large group twice in the past week (once on Cinco de Mayo), and we're treated great. I highly recommend this place, it's definitely my new favorite Mexican restaurant. s

After feeling we had tried all the "best" Mexican restaurants we decided to try El Tequileno b/c, of all things, my affinity for their lovely yellow awning which stood out like a beacon amid an otherwise dreary strip mall. I am SO glad we did! To echo previous comments, the service is amazing but let's face it - you go to a Mexican restaurant for the FOOD - and boy, have they got GREAT FOOD!!! Prepare yourself to never want to go to another Mexican place again. The cabbage "slaw" they serve along side the traditional chips and salsa is addictive - not only for its originality but for it's perfect balance of flavors. The food has never failed to impress us and after a dozen or so trips, that does say something. Please just try it! You will be delighted!

I've been here quite a few times since it is one of my girlfriends favorites. It has it's pros and cons for sure. I will go again to appease my girlfriend, but Tequilas certainly isn't my first local choice for Mexican food. Pros: Nice staff Cabbage/Jalepeno Salsa Happy Hour Prices Coupons always available on King Soopers receipts Some authentic food available like menudo Cons: Many meals are over priced Inconsistent on drinks Difficult time handling large groups

This place would have gotten 5 stars if they would have had AC in the restaurant... sitting in there was a bit uncomfortable so we ate super quick and left (we left in such a hurry i forgot my retainers on the table and had to get them replaced as they went down the trash :-( ) Besides the AC problem the food by far was really good and very authentic. We had their carnitas special and it was very good! service was quick and the staff was very attentive. Definitely would go back during the winter time!

They have my charred paper thin Carne Asada steak w fried fresh jalapeno rice beans and guac. Its hard to find that type in Denver area....the other place failed me 3 times so I'm sold here. They also have no waits on Sunday. Delicioso!

Came here for lunch today based on solid reviews. Upon walking in, I had to dodge what appeared to be pieces of a broken glass bottle, about 8 feet in front of the front door. You'd think they would clean that up. Not a huge deal, but details do matter. Upon entry, I was promptly seated, I asked for a glass of water, which they promptly brought, in addition to a basket of chips with salsa and some "cabbage salsa" which was good. Strangely, the chips were stale, which is hard to do in Denver's dry air. They appeared to be store-bought chips. Immediately, the waiter asked if I was ready to order, which I was not as I was still reading the menu. He disappeared for about 10 minutes. Strange. After I did order, my food was quickly brought out. I ordered chicken flautas, which were good. They came with a side of refried beans and Spanish rice. My water glass was regularly filled. Service was polite and the food was good. Honestly, this was not an exceptional meal, but I would come back if I'm in the neighborhood.

Err, I am confused with regards to the name of this establishment. For one, from the signage and even their business card details, this establishment is named as Tequilas. So I hope I am writing this review of this establishment or restaurant in which it should be "located", since its in the same address. I guess El Tequileno is also Tequilas. *Confused and Puzzled Look* Was here for a very late lunch on Wednesday Janaury 18th 2012. Thankfully we are just in time for the lunch specials in which I thought it was a good deal. Time : 14:30hrs. When I enter the establishment it seems empty. I guess it was due to the timing. I was skeptical, but just go with the flow coz of my friend's recommendation about this place. We were seated promptly and given the menu. Man, this establishment offer alot of stuffs, somehow I dont know what to choose or where to begin with. Nevertheless, here was what we ordered : * 1 side of Guacamole ($3.00) * Mojarra ($13.00) ~ G's order * Lunch Special of Tacos Al Carbon ($5.99) My main entree and order * Lunch Special Carne Asada ($7.50) C's order * 1 side of Roasted Jalapenos ($1.00) * Churros ($3.50) * Flan ($3.50) My friend G has been here a couple of times and she likes her order of Mojarra alot since that was what she was raving about this establishment. As for C, she is OK for her main entree. As for me, the Tacos was A-OK. At least it came out hot. I think with the Special Lunch menu, it only comes with 2 Tacos. My order also came with Rice, Beans, Guacamole and Pico De Gallo. My disappointment was more of the order of Churros. It was over-fried, in which it turned to be a let down. BIG BUMMER. As for the flan, its just A-OK. Nothing stellar nothing fancy. The service was good as I must say, but with good service, the food needs to outshine it too, but in this case it does not to my personal opinion. I would love to return perhaps to the same establishment. They also have several restaurants in town, such as in Arvada, Lakewood, Evergreen and Golden to name a few. I wonder if they provide the same menu and I hope my experience would differ when I have the opportunity to dine out with Hubs in the future. Great service, amazing food. Never anything undercooked or overcooked. Their fish and shrimp and mushrooms dish is to die for. Lots of big shrimp cooked right and mothwatering fish plus caramelized onions, like mama cooks. Yum! Generous portions. Perfect place to spend time with friends and family. This restaurant on Havana is the best one! We were in Glenwood Springs in the same restaurant and it was absolutely different. Smaller overcooked portions, so so service. I wish Havana location restaurant had a huge sign on the road for people to see it, we could hardly find it for the first time and now it is our hidden gem ). I love decoration inside with beautiful carved Mexican furniture. My friends are coming from Europe I am gonna bring them there right away. Mariachi is a great addition for Friday nights. Well done margaritas and very nice manager and stuff. We love this place!

The spicy cabbage salsa stuff is great ! Great fajitas, would have been 5 stars but they went kinda heavy on the onions and light on the green/red peppers. Great selection of tequila !!

I come here often, and always enjoy it. The service is usually very quick and attentive, the food is great, and the atmosphere seems intimate, even when the place is full (the large booths give you some privacy). My favorites are the Chipotle chicken enchiladas, the smothered chorizo burrito, and of course, the cabbage salsa. The place is also good if you are in somewhat of a hurry.

This used to be our favorite place to eat,we went here at least once a week, until tonight. We order our usual and my daughters corn-dog came our rotten, she was throwing up within minutes and my husband tried it and said it was disgusting, I wound up having to leave and take my daughter to the HOSPITAL!!!! My husband told them that the corn-dog made out daughter very sick and that I had to leave to go to the hospital and all we got was the corn dog taken off of our bill... Well thanks considering it made my daughter vomit!!! I didn't even get to eat my food and still they insisted I pay for it! We will NEVER go here again.

I've been here 3 times and it doesn't disappoint. Nothing really amazing about it, and given proximity to La Fogata I would steer you there instead but this is good hearty food and the prices are right. Very good salsa on the table that's delightfully spicy and they also serve a little molocajate (sp?) of pickled cabbage with your chips. Good stuff and I eat too much of it. Very good carnitas. The Chili Verde is mexican style, not Denver/New Mexico style so it's just sort of "saucy", not memorable. They sell a gazillion types of tequila but you don't get a great deal on them. The margaritas are nicely strong though so it's a pretty good for drinks spot all the same. For lunch try the Golden Burrito: Carnitas and Pico inside with guac on top and their Chili Verde.

Did my dreams come true or did I die and go to cheese dip heaven? For as long as I remember, I would order fajitas and also cheese dip to pour on top of my fajitas. Well, Tequila's is a restaurant after my own heart and has this amazing entree titled "Fajitas Acapulco." Now, this is my heaven... cheese dip sizzling in a cast iron skillet with tender steak, bell peppers, and caramelized onions. Tequila's delivers heaven right to my fat-ass self. The skillet comes out sizzling with cheese dip bubbling. The steak is covered in cheese dip. Covered. The onions are covered in cheese dip. The peppers are covered in cheese dip. It may sound pretty gross to the normal person, but to a cheese dip connoisseur like myself, this sounds like my wildest dream come true. So, 5 stars for this dish that somehow went under my radar until recently. Also, 5 stars for the waitress always knowing what I am going to order before I order it. I love this place. I uploaded a picture of the cheese dippy goodness. Ahhhhhh.

DONT EAT HERE!!! (It could kill you)!! Yesterday I went to this Resturant and they nearly killed my mom. They had no warning about any peanut allergen ingredients that was obvious or easy to see. They even made us still pay!! After my dad told them that we need to go right now and they asked what was wrong, we told them that my mom was deathly allergic to peanuts and they said ok and just brought the check. After I told my dad just to go while I pay so he can rush my mom to the hospital, the waiter came over and asked if their was something wrong with the food and I said that my mom was really allergic to peanuts and she had to go to the emergency room. They responded ok. That was it DONT EAT HERE! Plus the food sucks!!

This place has been my favorite Mexican lunch place, but knowing they have other locations, I'm itching to see how they do for dinner. I've only ever order one thing here, but when you find something you like, why risk being disappointed by trying something new? The Gordo Burrito is not the healthiest thing on the menu... far from it! But it is AWESOME. The relleno is absolutely perfect. It's crispy, even when wrapped in a burrito with refried beans and smothered with green chile. Oh, how I love thee. The complimentary cabbage and red salsa served with warm chips is just the icing on the cake. The bathrooms could use more frequent cleaning though, but otherwise I have never been disappointed by my gordo. Viva La Gordo!

Great cabbage salsa! The menu has a wide variety of old standards and unique variations, and it's always delicious and cooked to order. Try the Gordon Burrito. Wait staff is friendly and the food cost is reasonable. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Yumm. Pollo Asada is amazingly good. Very tender, seasoned great, with ranchero beans, rice and corn tortillas. My gent had the steak. Perfectly cooked with great flavor. His was with refried beans and rice with corn tortillas.. If you are looking for tex mex, I've not tried any if their tex mex fair. Their traditional Mexican food is very good, great flavors and wonderful service!!! The dinner portions are big, but I don't see a reason to complain, get a box and take home some wonderful leftovers!!!!

Definitely an authentic Mexican food experience. The thing that sucks, is it is kind of hidden in a strip mall. The two things that are good, if you see people of the same race that are eating at a restaurant (i.e. Creole/Cajun people eating at Pappadeaux or an Vietnamese person eating at a Pho restaurant) you can bet the food is good. This place was packed with my Hispanic brethren and I knew immediately it was going to be good and the food was going to be authentic. The only thing that concerned me about Tequila's is I went there with a coupon ($5 off when you purchase $20) I presented the coupon when it was time to pay, my bill was $24 before the tip. I had two margaritas and nachos, they said they would not honor the coupon because the FOOD wasn't more than $20. I still have the coupon and no where on it does it state these requirements. Pretty disappointed about that, otherwise, I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

We went on a Friday night the first time here The band was great, the food was delicious! The portions are Huge! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because it became very crowded and crazy! Thank goodness we had a table off in a corner!! We went back later in the week and the atmosphere was much different...much calmer!

Two stars based on customer service; the food has never let me down. The customer service is ALWAYS awful. The wait staff is inattentive and make it obvious they are only there to collect a paycheck. This place was a regular for my husband and I, but the exceptionally disappointing service we received today is what will keep us from returning. My husband and I had lunch here today. We had finally received our meal, and I had my drink refilled. It wasn't until after I had taken a drink that I realized there was a LARGE BOLT in my cup with a sort of white, glue-like substance around it and on the part of the cup it had been touching. I brought it to the attention of our waitress, and she didn't seem concerned or apologetic at all. She took my cup and asked if I wanted another drink. We were sitting in the booth closest to the kitchen and we could hear her dump it out, along with the bolt. She didn't bring it up to anyone until she handed us the check like nothing happened and I asked to speak to the manager. So she went and found and told him what happened. He then came to my table. I told him that I just wanted to make sure he was aware of the issue. He told me the ice machine technician had lost the bolt when he was working on the machine the previous day. So, the manager KNEW the ice had been "tainted" with a missing piece and didn't do anything about it. The manager then told me, "well, I'll take the drinks off your bill." He didn't even apologize for what happened. I would've rather had him do the right thing and taken care of it when it should've been taken care of than had the experience I did. After my husband and I left, I was so angry at the amount the manager obviously did not care. I mean, I'll pay for everything I ordered (including drinks), but can I at least leave feeling like they were sorry about it? Absolutely ridiculous.

What is a better way to celebrate a coworkers work anniversary then having margaritas? Not much, in my opinion. He wanted to go to Tequila's. I had never been there, so of course I am up for trying it out. We first sat at the bar while we waited for a table to open up outside. The patio is small, so we knew we would have to wait a bit. A Mariachi band played loudly behind us, taking suggestions on what to play. Sauza girls walked around giving out free shots and I did partake in a few of those. We ordered some house margaritas, which were strong and served with friendly smiles. We were seated at a patio table out front and began looking over the large menu. I couldn't figure out what I wanted. Everything sounded so good. I decided to go with something I have never had before, the Alambre. Comes with fajita meat chicken and steak or your choice of grilled chicken, asada, al pastor, chorizo or carnitas, onions, bell pepper, mushrooms and fresh pineapple mixed with melted cheese. Served over a bed of rice. I got the grilled chicken and continued drinking my extremely strong margaritas. The food arrived and it was the largest portion of food I have ever been served. IT WAS HUGE!! I seriously could only eat about a 10th of the food. That is no exaggeration. Great food, but my goodness, the portions do not need to be so large. Overall, great place! I love it.

We tried to order take out from here and when I called a woman answered and then said, "hold on..." and never returned. After waiting on hold for 5 minutes I finally hung up, gave it a few minutes, then called back and it went straight to voice mail. If they can't take a simple phone order then I'm not sure if I want stay for dinner.

The service was LOVELY! My water glass wasn't empty for more than a minute! The jalapeño margaritas are AMAZING; and I'm pretty picky about margaritas,! This is the first time I have hit 5 starts without even giving it a second thought. The food was very fresh. This is a nice, casual, sit down place that is laid back enough to really enjoy yourself. The tostadas de ceviche was loaded with fresh seafood! The skinny tacos hit the spot. They substituted shrimp with no problem at all. Have I mentioned the jalapeño margarita??!! Previous reviews are totally right about the cabbage salsa.....fantastic. We may make this a regular stop!

Notice all the bad reviewers are not...never mind. This place has the best Mexican food all around. I see Mexican people eating here whenever I go that's how you know it's good. The price is cheap, the services is always attentive, the drinks are strong. I've eaten here more than 20 times and never been disappointed.

Went here at 3:15pm on a Saturday after seeing that it was so highly rated. Couldn't be more disappointed!! The service was absolutely TERRIBLE. It took forever for someone to take our order. The food was average, nothing special. My fajitas were stuck to the skillet. The salsa was good with a little bit of a kick so that's one positive thing. We had to ask for a box twice. To say the wait staff was rude would be an understatement. I will never come back here. Shocked that it has such good reviews.

As you might be able to see, last time I visited this place was in 2012. I'll start by us getting there, my friend and I couldn't set a place where to go eat so I was like this place because one- I didn't remember going here until we pulled up- 2. It was on my bookmarks for some reason. So we get there and I couldn't figure out if I was a sit yourself place or not. So we stood there and this lady on the back saw us and stared for a good 10 seconds so I asked in Spanish if we could sit ourselves down but she must of not heard us because she disappeared into the back. Finally a server cones over and asks if it's 2 and I said yes so we finally sit. We get 2 horchatas to drink and wow not tasty at all. They use the soda machine and it must have been running low on the syrup. Should have gotten a margarita instead. Now my food was 3 tacos de asada and a huarache all pastor. The meat all tastes old and chewy but I really was hungry. It was 3pm and I hadn't had breakfast or lunch at all. My friend had LA carne asada because they didn't have carne cob Chile. He liked his better than mine I know that. We both agreeded it used to taste better, all of it the food, the waters, the salsa. The server was okay. Checked on us and all. She wasn't busy though there was only us and one more table. However, I couldn't stop noticing her Hickey. That's besides the point though.

Overall I have to say that the husband and I enjoyed this place. Close to home. Good food. The drinks were hit and miss . I had the jalapeño margarita while my husband had the regular. Neither seems to have any tequila in them.... However when we ordered one to share : get out! Lots of booze in that bad boy. We didn't finish it. I liked the food it was all good. The cabbage slaw was really good Give this place a try

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
