BE WARNED! DO NOT GO TO BREXI. It has delusions of mediocrity. Over a handful of years, we have had a few meals at Brexi, and decided to stop in hoping for a nice Sunday dinner. The restaurant was maybe a quarter occupied. We ordered the Sunday night "duck duet" special, the sole meunière, two caesar salads with salmon, a vichyssoise soup, and a nice bottle of Sancerre. The first red flag was that after 45 minutes and no attention, our food had not arrived. We asked our server whether it was on its way. Her response was, "It's because you didn't order a first course that it's taking so long," and she walked off, never to be seen until the end. The food was below average. The caesar salads were drenched in dressing to the point of being nearly inedible. The sole was overly salted to the point of being nearly sole-lox and drowned in butter. The duck was essentially jerky (over-salted) yet suspiciously under-cooked. They must have a good salt supplier. The only redeeming offerings were the vichyssoise and the Sancerre. When the bill came, we were charged $36 for each caesar salad with salmon. On the menu, the caesar salad was listed at $14. We asked why the price increased by nearly 150% for a few ounces of salmon. The server defensively retrieved a menu and indicated we were charged for the full salmon entree, which was $36, but came with "blistered asparagus, spinach dumplings, parmesan lemon nage, red pepper relish, and preserved lemon." They charged us for two salmon entrees and heaped on disgusting caesar dressing from Country Buffet, or worse. The bill for 5 people was $245. You expect to pay that much in Aspen, but you also expect quality and being treated respectfully. Apparently, the customer is never right at Brexi. Though we found the scheme outrageous, we acquiesced. The server, after getting away with fraud, couldn't leave well enough alone, however. She brought over the manager, who suggested that if we wanted fast food, we should go to McDonald's -- probably a safer choice, had we known. We signed the check, got up, and left. The manager CHASED US OUT THE DOOR and asked why we were "attacking" him -- after we signed the check for their exorbitant price. If you care about your tastebuds or being attacked by a "manager," DO NOT GO TO BREXI.

Husband and I went in for a glass of wine. Sat at bar and there was one other person there! The bartender talked to this other guy and after ten min we were never acknowledge that we were sitting there!!! Too rude for us do we got up and went to the Red Onion!!! Much better service!!!!

We had a reservation, arrived on time, sat down and ordered a big meal. We decided to add a bottle of wine to the order and the waitress asked to see IDs. The other couple had accidentally left their IDs in their hiking bag back at our hotel. Though a bummer, we were entirely prepared not to have the wine if it was a major issue for the restaurant. The manager eventually came over and agreed to serve the wine, however her tone was extremely condescending. She literally asked my 34 year old friend to please look her in the eyes and say he was over 21. After this socially awkward/ bizarre interaction we decided to get up and leave, fortunately there was another French restaurant a few blocks away where we were able to enjoy a pleasant and relaxing meal with a wonderful Burgundy.

We had the fresh trout, and it was excellent - the best I have ever had! Lovely ambiance, great food, I will go back.

We've eaten here several times and have had great experiences but our experience last night was mediocre. The staff seemed anxious to turn over our table and rushed us through the first part of our dinner, and then it took a long time to get our entrees. The beet salad was excellent, the sole meunière was good, the sweetbreads had a lot of breading and were overcooked. We come to Aspen often and will probably skip Brexi next time. There is a children's menu, which is helpful if you're taking kids.

Overall I was overjoyed with the level of quality this establishment strives for. Granted I was there on a rather quiet Sunday evening, but that shouldn't discredit the experience. We had a reservation and from the moment we came in our coats were taken and we were seated. Very lovely at night, upscale ambiance with tasteful decor. Our waitress was very helpful and polite even when I (oops) dropped my utensils twice, and asked errant questions about the food. The escargot was wonderful (the other reviews are true, it is extremely rich. Very cheesy), not entirely traditional but super worth it considering it was freezing outside. My boyfriend ordered the Duck Duet and he liked it to the point that he barely tasted my dish. I had the boeuf bourguignon and it was done in the traditional style, arrived in a personal sized dutch oven and a hearty serving. Ordered some rice pilaf on the side, very flavourful with roasted tomatoes and (what I presumed was) spinach. Even though we were stuffed we obviously couldn't leave without ordering a dessert. We had the profiteroles (serving of 3), which came with a delicious variety of berries, a generous serving of whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a scoop of tahitian vanilla ice cream. If I ever come back to Aspen would for sure come back here to try the rest of their menu.

We dined here for dinner on a quiet Sunday evening. The food was delicious and the service was great. I had the escargot to start, it was quite rich, but very delicious. The server was accommodating with my request to omit the simple syrup from one of the cocktails and paired a nice red by the glass with my filet. Plenty of parking around, we will visit again.

Close your eyes and you're in Paris. Coque au vin as good as the last time I had it in St Germaine. Just go and be transported.

Walked in w/out reservations and we were greeted by a welcoming hostess and manager. Very professional but warm reception at coat check and by Sam, our waiter and 2 separate busboy s. We were seated at a prime window table. Although two of us were not terribly hungry- soup/salad while the other one in our party ordered an entree, Sam was very helpful and offered to ask if I could have a cup v. a bowl and he seemed to know the menu very well. We began with the escargot starter served with nocchi, just delicious and a great shared course. The salmon entree was a healthy portion as was the soup and salad courses. Fresh french baguette and soft butter, delicious. I asked for a glass of Rose and Sam suggested the house which was on special for $10/glass. For dessert we ordered the sticky pudding and chocolate cake. They were both outstanding. I would highly recommend and although my son's are teenagers, the service was attentive and first rate.

Wait 30 minutes to be seated when you already had a reservation? Check. Wait another 10 minutes for the waiter to show up and offer you water? Check. Offer no apologies nor comp you a free drink for the inconvenience? Check. Serve the worst margarita you've ever tasted. Check. This place is poorly managed and a comedy of errors in its administration. The waiters are nice and the food is solid, but the manager and hostess so badly manage the restaurant that you hardly enjoy what is left.

Beautiful French brasserie with great charm! We enjoyed cocktails at the bar after dinner and it was a great way to unwind from another wonderful day in Aspen.

Tiny portions, way over rated. The steak was barely 4 ounces and was 90pct French fries. This place sucked in my view. One of the worst in aspen. I don't get the yelp reviews. The beet salad was terrible. The staff was just there, not knowledgable or helpful. Spread the word, avoid Brexi! I'm leaving and going to eat leftovers at home. Oh and of you like to eat healthy, avoid this place it's all salt butter and anti health.

Great dinner spot for summertime in Aspen. They have the large cafe doors and windows that they keep open all the time. The Lobster Carbonara was THE best pasta dish I have ever had in my life! I hear their burger is also amazing. I can't remember which wine we had, but it was a Pinot Noir and it was wonderful!

Me and my parents bellied up at Brexi's bar on our last night in Aspen. We intended to stay for a drink or 2 before our dinner at another restaurant in town but we ended up staying for hours! It was pretty dead when we got in there but was soon filled with the bustling energy of the ski crowd. It was a wide range of people from young ski bums to the Aspen fashionistas. The bartender reccomended a sidecar for my father. I might add this has now become one of his favorite drinks to order. They have these cool light fixtures all over the restaurant, creating a cozy yet hip atmosphere. Make sure you use the restroom here, they have some super swank single bathrooms (yes I am a major dork and get a kick out of fancy bathrooms in nicer restaurants). Needless to say Brexi's maitre d did the dirty work for us and cancelled our reservations at the other restaurant . We ended up just eating dinner right at the bar. I had the roast chicken and their parmeson frites. So simple yet such perfection. We were certainly glad we got to experience this place on our last night!

This is a lovely and memorable Aspen spot. The location is beautifully nestled very near the base of Aspen mountain. The cocktails are fantastic and wine list goes on and on. I sampled Brexi's version of a French 75. A well crafted cocktail indeed. I would highly recommend the gnocchi and escargot. It was extraordinarily decadent and buttery. The lobster carbonara was outstanding!! Authentic French cuisine, lovely atmosphere, and fabulous Aspen people watching.

This well may be my first negative review. My wife and I go to Aspen frequently, and Brexi has been one of her favorites. I, not so much. But, last night, Dec. 22, (Holiday Season) we had reservations my wife had made 2 weeks previously at 6:45. Neither of us liked the time, as we had massages that day ending 45 minutes before and little time to prepare. My wife had tried to get 7:30 reservations, but was told that was the only time available. When we arrived we were told our reservations were for 7:45! We explained the whole situation and why that could not have been the case or a mistake on our part. They were very unsympathetic, even when my son, who was with us, explained that the exact same thing happened last Holiday Season and was only corrected when he, an investment advisor in NY, had gone to the trouble of getting a written confirmation which he had in hand. Once they saw proof of their mistake in writing, our table suddenly appeared. Not last night, because they don't care without evidence. I guess it's a game to maximize the attention on more regular customers at prime dates, to the inconvenience of those that don't come often enough to matter. Move people's time around as you wish. BE WARNED! There are lots of places with better food and much better customer care in Aspen. And, if despite this you choose Brexi, have documentation.

Ooooh......let's start with those wacky waitresses that probably just want to go to Hollywood and act. The restaurant gig is just a temp thing right? I do so respect a pro and remember being told be the best at whatever you do. I wish everyone in the service industry had that drilled into them. Enough about the below par service. The food was good, not excellent. I agree with one reviewer that the salad dressing was on the oily side. Nothing like oil drentched lettuce. Went becase of a client's preference. Forget about the salad, everything else was great. Interesting menu and felt like I was in France after 2 glasses of their excellent wine. Ambiance is not stuffy. Very casual and certainly not classist as mentioned by another reviewer. We'll likely return someday. Would not recommend for a first date.

We got dinner here our second night in Aspen. Like most other dinners in Aspen, we sat at the bar. There's no reason to break the bank if you don't have to, right? After we sat down, we were promptly given menus. The bartender got my husband a drink and took our orders quickly. She was polite and responsive - it was a busy night and she did a great job. I didn't have too much of an appetite so I got some cesar salad and snacked on the delicious bread they gave us (+1 for WARM bread). My husband got the pork belly and ate every bite - he found it to be delightful. We would definitely come back here and try more of their menu - I wish I could have eaten more at Brexi because the rest of their menu looked super tasty!

Classist? Agist? Racist? Not quite sure. The food was delicious here but the staff was unfortunately predjudiced. Granted, we've discovered Aspen is the playground for older, wealthy, Caucasian clientele, but you'd think that it would be refreshing for them to get some diversity. I've dined at far nicer establishments (Manresa, Gary Danko, One If By Land Two If By Sea, etc) and received phenomenal customer service so I was surprised that this highly rated Brassierie lacked the sophistication to embrace individuals of various backgrounds. It's unfortunate that the prejudice is what drove me to review. We would've told the manager but he did not stop by our table as he did with others. It had the feeling of a social club to which we were not privvy. Though we were seated before an older white couple to our right, we were brought menus, bread, had our order taken, served and finished after the other couple. The wait staff was quite cross after I mentioned this. We did enjoy our meal despite his dour appearance. He was courteous and performed all technical aspects of his job well but with a cold demeanor. His tip reflected our appreciation of his attitude. We enjoyed the bone marrow hors d'ouvres-a very fatty dish nicely paired with gourmet mustard and roasted garlic on fresh warm bread. The cantaloupe and arugula salad was tasty if you are up for something a bit out of the ordinary. It's paired with quinoa and prosciutto (though it more resembled burnt bacon) Steamed mussels and clams came in a delightful wine broth which we also enjoyed with the fresh bread at our table. The fillet was a bit on the salty side but still tender and enjoyable. The accompanying accoutrements--scalloped potatoes and artichoke were a little over seasoned. Topped off with a nice framboise, we had a delicious meal. Aspen is gorgeous and I recommend a visit but it will be awhile before they are able to attract a global clientele, given their close minded attitudes.

We ate here for dinner while in Aspen for New Year's. Brexi is a charming French restaurant with well executed dishes and attentive staff. Roasted chicken is best you will find. (We booked our reservation through OpenTable and had no issues.)

Two words: GO here. Aside from a flighty waitress, everything about this place was awesome. Cool atmosphere, lighting, and bar scene. Impressive wine list, with many affordable wines by the glass and bottle. Seriously, I would go back again and again for the kale and beet salad. I tried to replicate it at home tonite! The fricasse salad with poached egg was also a winner. We had the Fruites de Mer for 2, which we split btwn 3 of us, and it was plenty! The lobster was amazing, crab a bit overcooked. It's so great to find a fun restaurant in Aspen that's high on quality food, but low on attitude. Love it. As a former Aspenite, I'll be recommending this joint to all friends and family that visit here. Kudos.

I popped into the Brexi for an after dinner drink. We had some Wine, Beer and Port. The bartenders were very knowledgeable and made some great recommendations. Their wine & beer selection was wonderful, top notch and not over priced, even for Aspen standards. We sat at the bar-top and had some great conversations with the bartender. He ended the night with a KILLER recommendation of Graham's 2007 Vintage Port and Dow's 2005 Late Bottled Vintage, Awesome. Can't speak on the food but the bar selection is great and so are the staff.

Good food, expected price for Aspen. Great Ambiance. We decided to get a few small plates: - The oysters were by far the best I had in Colorado. Very fresh, excellent Shallot and Vinegar mignonette. - The pork belly was good not great - beets and chevre good not great - french onion soup was not good. Far to salty and i usually never find a dish in a restaurant that is too salty - diver scallops were great. would order again. - beef tartar was good. great flavor. I would go back for just the oysters.

I had the house salad and the scallop appetizer--very good. My husband had the lamb chops-$42. They were very good, cooked to perfection, but served only with a artichoke gratinee. if you want vegetables they are a la carte.

The food, the ambiance, the bartenders all get four stars. The management gets five THUMBS DOWN! We had a delightful evening recently and paid the bill. We were finishing our conversation when the hostess came over and said "The table has been reserved by others your have to leave now." When we expressed our shock she offered a free drink at the overcrowded bar. There were other tables open and people who came in at the same time we did were still there. Turns out the reason for the insult was that they were trying to clear a space to set up for 11 guests. After a call to the owner that night he gave assurances he would look into in and get back to me. Guess what - no call back. It is unfortunate because it is a comfortable place with good food, but severely lacks in customer appreciation. Greed rules over customer service here. He now owns 5 restaurants in Aspen and I refuse to patronize any of them based on the treatment we received and the owners disregard for a customer's complaint.

Made reservations days ahead for an 8:30pm seating. Walked in at 8:30 and was told it would be a 5-10 minute wait. We were finally sat after waiting 20 minutes. Our drink orders were taken including a bottle of wine, then appetizers. After 15 minutes, our server was nowhere to be found. Another server delivered our appetizers, but never noticed we still had our menus! Anyway, back to the food - the Pan-Seared Diver Scallop, Hudson Valley Foie Gras Torchon and the Cured Meats Board were all very good and the Foie Gras was just perfect! We finally got our sever's attention and got our entree orders in. Server never brought our bottle of pinot noir, though. We had to ask the hostess and she apologized and brought it to our table. After another 20 minutes, our entrees finally arrived. The steaks were overdone, but I did enjoy my Lobster Carbonara. Overall, the food was "okay" but the service needs improvement!

Upon entering, you notice the great lighting above the bar area. This sets the tone for the restaurant. It is French Brasserie done well. The limited menu, lacks nothing. Great fresh seafood, steaks and other entrees set the course for the meal you are about to have. The wines are reasonably priced and the wines by the glass are also good choices. The beet and kale is awesome, as is the frissee salad with the poached egg. The daily specials not to be missed, and the fruits de mer are also a great option. You cant go wrong here with the food or drinks. One of our fav's in Aspen.
In a town full of absurdly expensive hotels and restaurants, Brexi was refreshingly awesome and reasonably priced. Our table had a bunch of really delicious stuff, but for me there were two standout highlights. The soup du jour, with a creamy blended sweet potato base, was one of the most divine soups I have ever tasted. It was delicate and full bodied at the same time, and warmed me to the core with every bite. It also held just a hint of heat, rounding out a rich flavor profile and causing me to scrape every last drop out of the bowl with my spoon. The other highlight was the boeuf bourguignone, an unbelievably savory and rich stew just dripping with burgundy flavor. It was thick and delicious, and chock full of carrots, mushrooms and pearl onions infused with its full flavor. The beef used was a short rib, which was fork tender and also absurdly good. The only complaint is that it was served in a small dutch oven which kept the dish piping hot, causing me to have to wait five minutes after service before even thinking about eating any. Only two comments other than the food. First, the wine list, while fairly comprehensive, is definitely on the pricy side. Second, while I had read about questionable service on Yelp, our waiter was unbelievably on his game, and I would probably say the service we had at Brexi was among the best I've ever received. I will absolutely come back.

Full Disclosure: There is a very short connection from me to the owner, so you know I got the class-ay treatment. You thought it was my winning smile that brought the free appetizers huh. This is clearly the best restaurant in Aspen. The food was great. I tried a bunch of things, like the beef bourguignon, steak, spinach, brussels sprouts, and these weird class-ay cheese poof things. They were all excellent. And the service was terrific. Everybody was super friendly and also they seemed like they were having a good time. Ultimately the place is just a lot of fun, and the opposite of the stodgy Aspen stereotype. And, not that expensive! Seriously, check it out. You will enjoy.

We wnt last night and I have good things to say about the staff and it is a place with a great vibe. Unfortunately the food we received was not up to the quality I was expecting amnd certainly not to the price. 4 of us shared the Rib eye special that the waiter described. All 4 of us were unsatisfied.

Adequate. Three of us for dinner on Sat. night. Scallops pretty good, but only two, and with a funny little pile of peas and chopped ham in the middle of the plate (??). Wifey had a nice beef fillet, perfectly cooked, good flavor, and with a couple of little sides. Daughter had roast chicken; the dark meat ok, but the white part so tough you could hardly chew it. The mushroom sauce over the chicken good, but forced to order a $10 side of asparagus to get anything green with the chicken (and it wasn't very good; a heap, chopped, in a bowl with some sort of watery sauce--yuk!). The medley of gelato good, and a peach en cruet had good flavor, but the pastry was mostly pasty and not cooked properly. Service friendly and efficient. Had to keep asking for ice and lemons (to go with the tap water, which is generally good in the mountains, but not that good--why not serve with ice and lemon?). The bill, with two glasses of wine, $165. I'd stay away from Aspen for dining; it's NYC prices without the quality. We were there for hiking in the Maroon Bells, which is spectacular, but I don't choose to keep up with the prices the jet set is willing to pay for so-so food (there were at least 100 private jets parked at the airport on this July weekend).

Excellent food and service. Went to Brexi on Friday night at 7pm, and it went from quiet to lively within an hour. The sommenier helped with a nice pairing by course, went with 2 half bottles off the robust wine list. My wife had the soup du jour, a creamy cauliflower & apple soup, which was excellent. The beet & kale salad was fabulous ! My wife & I both had the NY strip au poivre, which was very nice. My 2 teenage kids had the Brexi burger, and they raved about it. Prices were to be expected for Aspen, but not outrageous. Highly recommend. !

The soupe du jour, a "brown butter cauliflower soup with hazelnut pistou," was divine. Loved the food here and the service and ambiance were perfect. Best restaurant bathroom in Aspen! And the Caesar had just enough dressing. The lobster carbonara was divine, as was the chocolate cake. From the other reviews, it seems they are the soup kings of Aspen! Wish I could have their daily soup, well, daily!

Went there over 4th of July and enjoyed it. The atmosphere is really good - felt like I was in France but with a bit more space between tables! The lighting is really cool, we were seated near bar - weather wasn't nice enough for patio, but i would request that in summertime. Food was delicious - wine list extensive albeit, French, not much from CA. Service was not 4 star - somelier never checked in our wine choice and no one poured wine for us. Believe our waitress was in experienced, but overall enjoyed the evening.

Brexi has a lovely traditional French Brasserie look and feel about it, without the din usually associated with such places. The staff was top-notch, from check-in to waitstaff to sommelier. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about their menu and their wine list. Unfortunately, the food was just average. The green salad was composed of fresh, crisp ingredients, but the vinaigrette was virtually tasteless and only seemed to add an oily element to the salad rather than accenting the flavors of the vegetables (some salt and pepper helped). The roasted chicken lacked the crispy skin one looks for in such a dish and was over-herbed and slightly undercooked. The pommes frites (we ordered without the parmesan topping) were overcooked and rather soggy. We wanted to like Brexi; perhaps we were just there on an off night.

Great food here - the escargot gnocchi was delicious as was the lobster nicoise. The gnocchi was cooked to perfection and the creamy sauce they put on it went well with the escargot. The lobster nicoise was also prepared well, though it would have been better if it were actually mixed in with the salad part of the dish instead of being off to the side. The waiter was also a little out of it, but he did his job okay. I'll be coming back here the next time I'm in Aspen.

As a San Francisco resident visiting Aspen, a friend of mine took me here on a Saturday night off-season (Nov).. I was expecting empty, lifeless and slow service.. I was absolutely surprised.. the place was 95% packed, with amazing ambiance and great service. had Pinot at the bar and a cheese plate w/ roasted pears.. very tasty. And then sat for dinner.. ended up with the tomato soup and the NY strip, both very good. The manager Dan was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Highly recommend the place and would go back when I hit up Aspen again.

It happened here. I was waiting for that first Aspen knock out, and Brexi hit on every cylinder. There are plenty of places to begin, but the story truly begins and ends with the sommelier. ( Yes, the sommelier ) It's hard to base this review on a "wine geek" but ya' know what, he broke the mold, and truly established a completely new breed. Our reservations were adored, and we were seated in a beautiful part of the room with a great view up Aspen mountain. And then it began... Who would have thought that when dining in Aspen, the BEER selection and sommelier would be such a hit!? He was fantastic. I've been to my share of SF restaurants with sommeliers clearly making it apparent that you are an idiot, and they are the all knowing. But this guy was passionate! It's always great to see someone finding his niche, and loving every minute of it. Brexi had 3 specialty beers in house, and by chance and fortune, we were able to have all 3! A quick insight, the braised short ribs were divine. Served in a warm pot, with root vegetables and hearty portions, the ribs were perfect. Each fiber of meat had soaked up it's delivering broth, and it was an entree that left you full but walkable. Perfect. And do NOT dismiss the lamb shank. It is a Monday night special, but if you had to choose a night to come, this dish is one very good excuse. A huge lamb shank, served on a pillow of truffle potatoes, this dish hit it out of the park. BUT, back to the liquid gold. We were able to have a rare Dogfish Head beer that was actually barelled in pinot noir barrels, and it was by far one of the most unique, strong, and delicious beers I have ever had. It was a Red and White, malt beverage brewed with coriander and orange peel and the subtle essence of Pinot was amazing. Mind blowing really. It was phenomenal, and the best part, because it was not chilled when we had ordered it, he offered us a Duchesse De Bourgogne, and it was another great beer. This is a remarkable addition to the Aspen restaurant community, and while only a few weeks old, it has true potential and peak high opportunity to make a true splash in this cultured mecca of food. My one dislike. (a personal dislike) The tiled floors. Yes, I said it. I don't like black and white tiled floors. It reminds me of generation old bathrooms floors, and that isn't the floor vibe I wanted from a burgeoning new food room in Aspen. But hey, it really doesn't matter. The food was outstanding, and the serivice was remarkable. I only wish I could come here daily...

Excellent!!!!!!!!!! Great French brasserie in downtown Aspen We started with a hearty mussels & little neck clams appetizer in a super broth Entrees were herb roasted chicken & duck confit. We finished with a good Creme Brulee & excellent Profterols for dessert. Good wine list & good beer selection. Service was very good from coat check, thru water boy, to waitress to manager. Very attentive & knowledgable service. Restrooms are also top class,i appreciate when a real effort is made to have a clean nicely decorated environment & Brexi certainly does. General decor is authentic Parisien Well worth a visit

I have enjoyed Brexi many times in the past as a "local" I live in Aspen 6 months of the year, but my last encounter was dreadful, Typically the rotisserie chicken is wonderful, but at the bar about a week ago, it was inedible, tasted like cardboard, . I though it was croutons in the creamed potatoes, I ordered the house Chardonaay (there are 2) terrible, sent it back with the chicken the other one just as bad. Finally switched to a burger. Charged $15 for it when they a bar special $12 for beer AND burger. Would n't back down, when person setting next to me got the special B&B!. Only the inedible chicken taken off the bill. My friend chewed through his, wouldn't send it back. Management totally unresponsive. Too many good restaurants in Aspen to put up with this. Must have a new chef. Place used to be full and fun, tonight prime time on a beautiful summer evening. almost empty. Something going on. Hope it gets better but I won't be back

Brexi Brasserie really tops my list for restaurants in Aspen. With its grand opening just two weeks ago (on my bday!), this brasserie concept restaurant serves simple, hearty French food. Brexi is owned by the same owners as LuLu Wilson (which I have not been to and would love to try) and the Wild Fig, who apparently also assisted in getting D19 on to the scene a while ago. It is located in the Dancing Bear complex. The restaurant has a very welcoming atmosphere with its wooden backsplashes, modern art and interesting light fixtures coordinated in a meticulous manner. I really liked the wooden tables and chairs on top of the white and black checkerboard tiled flooring. The restaurant was packed and our table was ready on time. There were 8 of us, and we all couldn't wait to take a gander at the menu. The staff was all very friendly and professional and were very patient considering our whole table was immersed in conversation, not making any quick decisions about what we wanted to order. There were so many good things to choose from on the menu! The food really was outstanding. I had the Pepper NY Steak with pomme frites, and for dessert I had the Almond "Bark"...soooo incredible. I tasted some of the other dishes including the lemon sol which was amazing. My only complaint is that the music was a little bit loud and the light was too dim. Not one person at my table could read anything and we all had to use the candles / our cell phones to read the menus. Oh, and Brexi needs a website! (It's 2009 people) All in all, great experience and would love to come back again next time I am in town.

Had an 8:15 PM reservation. Seated half hour late. Hostess was rude when I asked for update. Server didn't come to our table - had to grab the sommelier for help. He took our orders, and screwed them up. Received one wrong appetizer, but it didn't matter because neither was good. Took an hour to receive our entrees. We got the check at the same time, which overcharged us. Complained to manager (who was the same hostess who was rude earlier) who took off an appetizer and offered us dessert. At this point, we just wanted to reach the finish line and leave (which I'm sure they knew) so we declined. Then they never brought that check to the table. Soup to nuts, they screwed EVERYTHING up. Since it was 10:00 before we got to eat, we no longer cared about our (mediocre) food.

WOW! Excellent food. Great ambience. Like everyone else, I agree, the beet and kale salad was perfect. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection - rare as it should be. Cut like butter. The fried cauliflower was a fun trip down memory lane of growing up in the midwest where we'd deep fry the hell out of anything.

We originally had reservations for a really late dinner Valentine's Day, but ended up going the following night instead. I'm glad we went for a normal dinner here because it wouldn't have been worth the wait the night before. The lighting is extremely dim that they were handing out mini flashlights for us to read our menus. At first I thought it was a joke, but I had to use it because I couldn't read the menu (and subsequently, couldn't really see my dish very well either). We ordered the French Onion Soup, Ceasar Salad, and Duck Confit - all delicious. I really like white anchovies on my salads and will order it any chance that I can get. A lot of places that we go to undercook the duck, so I was extremely surprised that my duck was cooked perfectly and even had a nice crunchy skin. I hope they fix their lighting issue soon so we can go back!

Inviting bistro atmosphere with an extra touch of elegance. Had chicken and steak - both were good, but certainly not amazing . Excellent selection of Belgian beers - will be back to sample more. Overall a fine experience, but not a top spot in town.

We went there for our anniversary dinner and it was something to remember for a while. I would go there again if I visit Aspen. We began with scallops and some really tasty garlic fries (still cannot believe fries could be that tasy). Both of us had fish. She had a sable and I had a striped bass. It was a heavenly experience. Its a little expensive but worth the price. Also has the feeling of a Parisien restaurant. The photos shown here does not justify the true environment of the place during dinner at all. Recommended: Have the special whatever be it for the day. The chef is really good.

Great food and great service. Party enjoyed the mussels, spinach dumplings, and salmon. Sommelier, Jon, suggested a great 2009 white burgundy. Waitress, Vania, was also great.

In short...avoid..... Food was overpriced and mediocre. All dishes were very over-salted. They are willing to add a protein on a salad (appetizer portion)...but what they don't say on the menu, is that they charge for the entire entree price of the protein. Yes, as others have said, it is a beautiful space. If you must go, keep your eyes open and mouth closed. Manager chases out customers who ask questions about service or prices. Good theater though.

Overall an absolute culinary delight! We highly recommend the mussels and clams first course. Ask for extra bread to enjoy the wonderful broth. Third Duck was A+ lemon sole was A+spinach dumplings were unique and very tasty. Adequate wine list

Classic French spot with good ambiance. Food is not very good and over priced. French onion soup was disappointing, too much cheese, and tasted like it came out of a can. Chicken dish was flat and without much taste and the side (mashed potatoes) was equally disappointing. Salad were ok. Lobster Carborara was bad.... Lobster of bad quality and dish was overall not cohesive and pasta was without interest. Lamb shank was fatty - just ok. Steak Fries were good! Dessert (Madeleine's and profiteroles) was not good. Go spend your money somewhere else.

What a cozy comfortable place. This restaurant has a good ambience and great service. I ordered the burger for dinner and it was amazing. My friends had other items which were all good as well.

The food here is always amazing. I had the sole and it was so light and delicious! The restaurant is warm, romantic, and fun!
(5)Gregory K.
We had the fresh trout, and it was excellent - the best I have ever had! Lovely ambiance, great food, I will go back.
(5)Dana H.

(4)Katie W.

(4)Asher A.

(5)JoAnna M.
The best burger in Aspen! Delicious in every way! The Colorado Mules are fantastic.

(5)Maggie C.

Horrible service. The waitress was extremely rude. Management didn't respond to email complaint. Lsst place in Aspen I would choose to dime.
(1)Zahara S.
(4)Christine F.

(2)Erin B.
We ate here for dinner while in Aspen for New Year's. Brexi is a charming French restaurant with well executed dishes and attentive staff. Roasted chicken is best you will find. (We booked our reservation through OpenTable and had no issues.)
(4)Mary D.
Kudos.
(5)Louis C.
(4)Stephany B.
(4)Roanna H.
I had the house salad and the scallop appetizer--very good. My husband had the lamb chops-$42. They were very good, cooked to perfection, but served only with a artichoke gratinee. if you want vegetables they are a la carte.
(4)Donald F.

(3)neil g.
(4)Kyle W.
Fantastic Meal! My girlfriend and I sat outside for an early premovie dinner and had a fabulous experience. We had the chicken and the haddock which were both great. The chicken wad moist and served over potatoes. The Haddock comes with a buerré blanc was superb.
(5)Ben K.
(5)Andrew B.
(5)Michael B.
We wnt last night and I have good things to say about the staff and it is a place with a great vibe. Unfortunately the food we received was not up to the quality I was expecting amnd certainly not to the price. 4 of us shared the Rib eye special that the waiter described. All 4 of us were unsatisfied.
(2)Susan O.
wonderful staff, great bartenders, nice sancerre by the glass, excellent mussels and fries, pretty room. will be back.

(3)Todd D.
(5)Model M.
Delicious and surprisingly affordable French food. Great presentation and even better tasting food! Bartenders are great and extremely friendly. I had the pate and it was really good :).
(5)Diane R.
(4)Laurie B.
(4)Kim H.
(3)Claire S.
(4)Greg M.
(5)Mike K.

Think Pastis in Aspen.

Great food, atmosphere and the bartenders are the best!
