I have been here 3 separate times and all three I got take out. The first two times the food was quite tasty, which is why it got 2 starts..I would give it 2 and a half but oh well. Even tho the food was good, I found the prices to be a bit high for such a dive-y spot, but was willing to pay it on occasion. The last time I got stuff from here the food was awful, some was waaaay over salty and some was totally bland. I'm so upset because it's really close to my house and I so badly wanted my own little neighborhood dive to be awesome. Alas, it is not so. So anyone know of a yummy Mexican food dive around the areas of 80th and Sheridan or Wadsworth?

I have been going here with my family for the last 10 years. Their green chili is probably the best in Colorado - their tacos? To die for. Definitely a little mom'n'pop place - but if you want good Mexican food, go here.

Decent portions. Shredded beef tacos were good. Extra charge if you want more chips/salsa. Salsa a bit watered down. Food okay and price not too bad. I wouldn't call the food incredible.

This is a truly great Mexican restaurant and the best restaurant in the area. They make everything from scratch, their chips are made fresh and served HOT! I frequent Luna's at least once a week and enjoy it every time. They do have big servings so make sure you bring an appetite.

An unpleasant experience. I came with my 9 year old son--he ordered the smothered burrito a la cart. I ordered the super burrito. Curiously, although mine was several dollars more--both burritos were the same size. When I inquired what the difference was, they offered to add add'l lettuce and tomatoes. Bad answer. Starting the meal was the chips and salsa. Chips were overly greasy and extremely salty. It is rare when the two of us don't finish a small basket of chips, but these weren't really edible. The green chili was certainly hot (the way we like it) but absolutely nothing exceptional about it. This will be a one trip wonder.

A little whole-in-the-wall Mexican joint for a quick lunch? Why not? I picked up a breakfast burrito to go and was treated to a tasty ensemble of ham, eggs, potatoes, cheese and sauce. The gent behind the counter and waitress seeing to the seated patrons both flashed friendly smiles and the prices were quite reasonable. Based on this admittedly limited experience, I'm very curious to revisit this establishment to sample their other fare. Til then, a solid four stars.

I know good Tex-Mex. Luna's was good but not excellent. The street tacos were decent and the salsa was tasty. Only cons were that they charge for seconds on chips and salsa and for more than one drink refill. Other than that, it was worth visiting and we would probably go there again if we were in the neighborhood and in the mood for Mexican.

The folks at Luna's are very nice, and the green chile is delicious. The rest of the menu is pretty standard, and nothing really blew my hair back. This place could do with a makeover in the restaurant and on the menu, but it isn't stopping me from visiting once a month.

This is absolutely the best Mexican food in Denver. I had a hard time finding great seasoned Mexican food and was told to try Luna's! Best decision I ever made! Their green chile is the best around as well!

I've only had the chorizo breakfast burrito, but it is the best I've ever had. It's decently priced and everyone has been extremely nice every time I've been in.

Absolutely excellent food! Some of the most authentic and best-tasting Mexican/Tex-Mex I've had in Denver. I lived in Texas for over thirty years and know good Mexican food when I have it. I'd drive clear over from Aurora to Arvada to do this Green Chili again. Excellent homemade tamale. Terrific Chile Rellano. Go here. You won't be disappointed!

Solid food and always friendly service. Somehow, I haven't had any alcohol here, but otherwise it's awesome. Try the steak nachos or huevos rancheros...those have been my favorites so far. It's a divey little place, but from what I have seen, it is very clean. Definitely give it a try if you need something cheap that will stick to your ribs.

I lived in Arizona for several years and got spoiled on Mexican food. This is not great, but it's some of the better Mexican food I've had in the Denver area. Their breakfast burritos are quite good. I had a steak burrito that was okay but just drowning in cheese. Too much. I live just down the street so I go here often because it's the right price and it scratches an itch. Just don't expect to be blown away.

Very overpriced for food portions. Spent a fortune for what seemed to have been the most cliche cheap mexican food i used to get anywhere in Texas. The products used to make mexican food are not expensive... What am i paying so much for?

This is a little mom and pop Mexican place with excellent green chili. I wouldn't really consider it the best place for kids or a date, based only on the atmosphere. It's a little on the rugged side. But if you want good green chili and authentic affordable meal this place is excellent. The staff are friendly. I'll give it four stars because I've gone here a number of times and have been consistently satisfied.

Holy breakfast burritos! Finally had a chance to make a morning visit to Luna's today ~ sooo glad I did. Their breakfast burritos are amazing. If you are dining in, be sure to get your burrito smothered in their wonderful green chili. I noticed they also serve things like pancakes and eggs if burritos aren't your thing. We've been loyal patrons here for the past 2 years and this place just keeps getting better and better. The staff really couldn't be any nicer. Oh, and they have TORTAS now!! Hoooray for tortas and french fries....

The main reason I like Luna's is that it is within walking distance of our house. I have only had their breakfast burrito so far, and it's a pretty good one. It's big enough to share, so on weekends my wife and I like to walk on over and get a breakfast burrito to go. If you want, they will smother it in green chile, too. It's fast, it's cheap, it's filling. The one thing that confuses me is their hours. Sometimes we'll walk by at 7 PM, and it looks like they are closed already. Sometimes they are closed on Sundays, sometimes not. Maybe because they are a local business, they close early because business is slow. I don't know...I'm just confused. I am certain that we will be over there for lunch or dinner soon enough.

I ate here at Luna's a few times when I lived in Arvada. A neighbor lady was nice enough to take me here the first time because I was helping her with getting her newspaper while she was away. The second time was just to try it again, by myself. Both times I just didn't think Luna's was all that spicy or maybe it was their recipe for green chili that I did not like. I don't know. I never wound up becoming a regular here... instead I went to Chubby's and Santiagos further down on Ralston. While some may balk at this those two are my preferred places to go when it comes to Mexican food in Arvada.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
