The food is good but I hoped for more. I wish they had better coffee and espresso drinks.

Great food and service. I just read the one star review, she might have been right a year ago. Since then, the owners have changed, there are new cooks and a new menu. She should try it again. Still locally owned!

Great little breakfast place. When I say little I mean little. They have been in this area since my high school days. However, I believe they have new owners as of this summer. Although you wouldn't tell the food and service is the same, but there are new faces and a bit of a make over. They are super busy most of the time but it is good enough to wait. Everything is home cooked.

Service was great. Breakfast was delicious. Probably the best breakfast burrito we've ever had, and the green chili was the perfect amount of spicy. We're already looking forward to our next breakfast date here!

The new ownership of Gary and Barbra has made all the difference. All the old junk is off the walls. The remodel looks great. Place is always clean and the service is friendly and efficient. Green and red chili is superb as are the omelettes. Great local hangout for breakfast. Best breakfast is Westwoods.

I have yet to have lunch here, but breakfast here has been a nice treat most of the time. Usually quite fast service without much hassle, so long as it isn't too busy. I wouldn't say the best quality food, but conveniently located and tasty enough to keep coming back for more. My wife is a fan of the eggs Benedict, whereas I like to usually get the daily special.

I've been here a few times with friends have also met business colleagues for coffee and breakfast. Be very hungry because the meals are plentiful and they are very delicious! Service was top-notch and I really enjoyed our waitress' personality and sense of humor. I will definitely return.

Average breakfast, but fast service with a smile. Trying to upload photo from library but yelp seems to only allow photos taken at time

Service was awful. Waitresses were rude and understaffed. Also heard them talk negative about my family while i was waiting for the bathroom. It's a shame because the food was good but the service will keep us from going back.

I don't recommend the biscuits & gravy. The gravy has a chemical taste like it was made from a packet. Coffee was weak. Last time I ate here I ordered eggs Benedict with runny yoke--yoke was way over cooked.

The breakfast sandwich is the best!! I love this place, my brother and I eat here almost every weekend. The staff has always taken care of us and they all know how to wait a table. The ladies that work here are an efficient team, food is quick and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!!

I have been there twice and loved it!! Their hash browns are the best!! The green chile is pretty good - not hot, but decent flavor with a little spice. I have had the Arvada sunrise and the huevos rancheros and both dishes were very good and as I said the hash browns were cooked to perfection and the eggs and green chile were cooked to my liking as well. The service has been great - no complaints there. Everyone has been friendly and keep the coffee coming well after I'm done eating. My hubby loved their cinnamon rolls and he will probably start getting some to go when the urge strikes. He also loved the French toast he had. It's a wonderful place on our side of town, so I'm sure we will become regulars.

Great food! Fast and Friendly service. I will be back. Not to sure why all the negative comments are made about this place. It is a local business and the price is fair comparatively. If I could do a better job myself I would stay home and not complain. It was fairly busy and the waitress was great at keeping up.

Great breakfast burrito! Why only 3 Stars? The wait staff is depressing. One gal in particular. For a family business I'd expect a little more & I'm not very picky. Just give me some good food! Kinda' feel like cutting my arms off with butter knives when we're done though. Kinda' obvious they don't love their job. Oh well, I'll eat there on a rainy day when I'm depressed so it doesn't bother me as much. Lol! BTW, the breakfast burrito. Its really good.

I love supporting my local Arvada community... so we brought the family on a rainy Saturday morning. Walking in we felt invisible and I wish I could say that changed. Alas, we felt like the uninvited guests at a party. The staff all but ignored us-- no silverware, no water, no menus until we asked. When we finally did receive silverware it was placed shoddily in a pile and thrust at me for me to distribute around the table! We did see them respond pleasantly to the people they knew and the rest of us were left as the red-headed step kids. The food was good. I had the eggs bene and it was smoky and delicious. Daughter had toast with eggs and hubby enjoyed the corned beef hash. The food was well priced and came out quickly. The coffee was awful, not that I expect gourmet roast, but at least for a diner, the black brew should be an easy staple. The staff needs a Ramsay intervention. It's disappointing as I'd really like to go here again but it was just uncomfortable. Hubby and I pondered the tip, but we recognize this is how they make money so we opted for a review instead. Did they earn my 20%? Not even close, but they are supporting a family. It felt rather like a family business where everyone joins in out of obligation rather than passion. Sadly, it shows.

My family and I love this small, cozy, FRIENDLY place for breakfast! The green chili is great and this is the only place I've had chorizo that is NOT a greasy, oily mess. Super good and I'm glad this family owned business is always packed in the mornings!! I would recommend the Arvada Sunrise or the Chorizo Breakfast burrito with the green chili! If you order pancakes, be warned.... it could feed 4 people and is REALLY good!

I'm amazed another person gave this place 5 stars. I wonder if she ate there. A coworker recommended it too, so we went there about a year ago. I love supporting local owners and businesses, but the food at this place was so atrocious that it can't be justified or salvaged by having a local owner. That local owner, frankly, should be ashamed to put out such terrible food! Our waitress was very outgoing and friendly. It's not her fault the food that she served was awful. I ordered a breakfast burrito and my husband ordered pancakes and eggs. The green chili on my burrito was cool and bland. The burrito was equally bland. I tried some of the gravy and it was completely bland- no flavor or meat in it. My husband's pancakes were not cooked all the way through, and his eggs were rubbery. Portion sizes were small for the price. The decor is cool, with a lot of local artifacts and historical photos. The owners were lingering around at the diner counter. It's really too bad that the food is disgusting, or we would definitely go back. I would go to the Ralston Road Cafe, Chubby's, George's, or Santiago's instead. And as you can see from my history, I don't give out one star to just anybody.... it has to be earned! And Home Cookin' Cafe has the dubious distinction of earning that one star. From start to finish.

This place is small but cozy. Best breakfast burrito in town. The staff makes you feel at home.
