While we were walking around after leaving Al-mart we stopped by here for a mocha and it hit the spot. For such a small town we were pleasantly surprised to find such a great coffee shop. I just wish we were still hungry to grab something to eat here but unfortunately we weren't. Maybe next time we will stop by for a full lunch. Thanks Alma's Coffee House!

This is the closest civilization to Kite Lake. After camping and hiking a few 14ers this place did us right with some hot coffee and an enjoyable deck to sit on...not to mention a functioning toilet!

I visited the area and fell upon this sub-standard little wanna-be-hipster joint.... Big mistake, should've gone to dennys (if there is one there, of course being a tiny town like this is the only way a place like this stays in business....) Derogatory comments overheard by person behind counter who obviously hates tourists like me. Won't go back - stale baked goods and bad coffee along with bad attitude - no thanks.

Friend and I got coffee from the dude one day. It was awesome. Super nice and talkative. Came back in next day lady with the nose piercing was there. Super talkative to the customers before us. Not so much to us. Then super talkative to the customers after us. Both of us clearly and loudly said "thank you have a good day" no reply. Maybe she didn't understand English and basic American courtesy.

Alma Coffee House is nestled right at the beginning of Buckskin Creek Rd., so it's a perfect before or after stop. I stopped in post 14er summit of Democrat, Cameron, and Lincoln in need of yummy food and replenishment. They offer several sandwiches, soups, and burritos. All of their vegetables are locally grown and super fresh. The selection of coffee was extensive and the jasmine tea I chose was very tasty. This gem of a coffee shop also features an awesome patio overlooking main street with lots of seats and opportunities to make new friends. :)

Half coffee house (upstairs), half natural food store (downstairs), all great. That's the breakdown. But I'm writing this to brag about the coffee house, because the food is always superb, and the coffee is too. There's not a whole lot of competition in the area, but Alma Coffeehouse and Natural Foods brings it. Nice seating, indoor and out. Right by the road to Kite Lake, so you can hit it up on the way to a decent hike. This is also my Dad's favorite place in the whole wide world, and he's a pretty harsh critic. If they can please him with awesome service and coffee time and time again, I can pretty much guarantee you'll love it too. And I am one for commenting on bathrooms, so I will say that this one has a gorgeous view of the mountains.

I had the tuna melt and the wife had the turkey reuben. The sandwiches were made on the spot and delicious! Homemade and made on demand are something you never get at a chain restaurant, and it was excellent. They also have an Internet terminal for about $3 an hour. Eh. They also have a nice selection of quality groceries and some Colorado souvenirs. The patio deck was the perfect place to eat lunch and lounge after a mountain climb.

I always make it a point to stop at the Alma Coffee House on my way south, partly to support my friend Drew, and partly for the excellent coffee and burritos. Their breakfast burritos are some of the best I've ever had - the bacon is my fav with meaty bites, tasty salsa, potatoes and cheese. Be sure to stop in when you are going through/to Alma. And the natural foods store downstairs has closed, so don't plan on stocking up there.
