I don't doubt that some of the negative reviews for this restaurant are warranted, but my experience was perfectly fine. The waitress (Forgot her name. Shoot!) was quite fast, kind, and professional. The food...well, whaddaya gonna do? It's Denny's. The food is OK, the coffee is decent, and the price is what it should be. I don't think you can ask for much more. And if you are asking for more, why the hell are you reading reviews for a Denny's in the first place!?

I didn't want to come here. I wanted to hit that schwarma place from last week, but I was told it was too hot in there (I didn't think it was hot) so Denny's it was. Bleah. Had to ask for setups, after the soup showed up. Soup was inedible, with a strong laboratory chemical taste to it. The girls enjoyed their "Thing Burger", club sand, and fries. My chicken fried steak with boring instant white gravy was like a roofing shingle and about as tasty. Choice of two sides came with it, so I chose the mac and cheese (very tasty) and the sauteed squash/zucchini. Instead, the waitron brought me a bowl of raw vegetables and some ranch dressing. After pointing this error out to her, she insisted the meal didn't come with sauteed veg. I showed her on the menu where it said otherwise, but she wasn't having any of it. Maybe she can't read. Maybe she needs to use a chemical depilatory on her mustache. I'll bet that soup would do the job. The restroom was filthy, and one of the sinks was plugged up and a faucet was on, causing the place to flood. I turned the water off because water shortage and all that. I'll eat a hobo's socks before I step a foot inside this place again.

Hector was our waiter today. He was by far the worst waiter I've ever had. So careless and a complete airhead. This job is not for him!!! He paced around in circles. Never got anything we asked for and kept us waiting for long periods of time for everything. When we arrived we waited over 15 minutes for him to say something to us- mind you there were only two tables in the entire place. He was rude while we were ordering and gave attitude/ didn't answer our questions. He literally acted like we were dirt and he was above us. He didn't serve us at all. Horrible horrible service!
(1)Monica C.
Walked in and waited 20 minutes before anyone was acknowledged. The manager didn't even care that we were waiting, when we asked him if we had to seat ourselves, his reply was "I'm busy and we only have 2 waiters." The manager finally walked over to the front and had the waiter ask of we still wanted to wait cause it was going to be an additional 30 minutes before our food would be ready. No thanks. This is by far the worst Denny's I've ever been too and definitely will not be returning, especially with poor management skills.

Didn't want an extravagant breakfast and wanted something affordable for me and my kid, so we ended up at Denny's. I do prefer this Denny's over the one off the Old Road - it's cleaner and doesn't smell so bad. For a Saturday morning, we got seated right away, but service was like a turtle - so slow... It took awhile for the server to take my order and about 10+ mins to get one breakfast order, but after all it is affordable. Between the two, we spent less than $10 for breakfast.
(3)Nate D.
Not a bad experience. We sat a little bit waiting for drinks but nothing critical. Leticia our sever got our order exact(I'm picky)! I was concerned from past reviews but I waited until my visit here ended and I was pleased with my breakfast. Now time for some roller coasters!!!! Sike 6 flags was closed the day we were supposed to go
(4)Helen W.
Not good service. Real SLOW
(3)Dawn D.
Late review (ate 5/15) I love going to diners late night. It was about 2 am when me and my friends went, and I swear there was only one person working and he was bad at his job. I have had better service at a a buffet lol Food could have been better, I know because I have eaten at a Denny's before. Wont go here again.
(2)Alex H.
Great management, I come in here all the time for breakfast. The customer service is excellent!!! And the food is great! One of my favorite places to eat breakfast. Also open 24 hours
(5)Stevi B.
Out of silverware... Out of vanilla ice cream... SUPA dirty menus... Quite possibly ran out of tins since my milkshake extras came in a small glass... Salt all over the table and bench... At this point I don't know that the taste of my meal is even relevant! Vegetables weren't steamed enough and the tilapia was too "fishy". The hotel served better food in the morning.
(2)Vanessa L.
I wonder what's up with the bad reviews.. It's like everyone has high expectations of Denny's when it's just a great place to come when you're drunk with friends, or really hungry late at night. I've been here plenty of times, and honestly.. it's a hit or miss. The last time I was here, my server was great and efficient. I suggest ordering a sizzling platter - I think it's about 7 bucks. You have to try their minute maid smoothies. My favorite is the Orange Grove! The mango one is bomb too. I highly advise you to stay away from the cheap samplers, because the cheese quesadilla tasted like cardboard. I'm not exaggerating. Of course I'd come back - It's Denny's. You can't really pick and choose how great your local Denny's is, LOL!
(3)Adrian M.
I am usually a very easy person to please, even if the food is ok I have no complaints. I have been a fan of Denny's because it is cheap, fast, and usually has good customer service. However, after my recent visit two weeks ago after Six Flags, I have never been as unsatisfied. I had ordered of their value menu and had got the build your own chicken wraps. Once my food had arrived I was surprised to find an entire blue crayon in my food. I called for management and when he came out he apologized to the wrong table. Then to try and fix the matter, he offered to give me a sundae. Really? I had a chunk of a blue crayon stuck in my throat and your only going to offer a sundae!? Personally, I thought it was on purpose because how would you miss an entire crayon as your making a wrap? Are they blind? I ended up getting my bill comped but it seemed as they took it as a joke. When I was in my car leaving, they had smirks on their face including management when I looked through the window. Worst experience.
(1)Jessie S.
Nope!... This place is WAAAAAY understaffed! It's Memorial weekend, you are Denny's, and you are right next to Six Flags!!! Are you TRYING to detour people from leaving good reviews and returning??? I guess you don't need return customers because you are Denny's, and you are right next to Six Flags... Any why is it that you don't offer any Gluten Free alternatives yet? Wake up and get on board!
(2)E E.
Completely understaffed. Guess that big theme park just sprang up overnight and no one told them that there would be people coming in after it closes.
(1)Anton S.
It is because of the reviews in Trip Advisor that we dared going here, despite the complaints of many Yelpers. I can be brief about our experience. This Denny's isn't better nor worse than any other Denny's I visited. After a long day at Magic Mountain we wanted to grab a quick bite. We entered at 10.25 pm and left at 11.00 pm. The zesty nachos and Bourbon chicken skitter came out as expected. We had a good meal. And the servant was friendly. No fuzz whatsoever. I'm not saying that previous reviewers made up their bad experience, but they may have been to eager to jump on that train. Otherwise I can't explain the differences between the Yelp reviews on the one hand and the Trip Advisor reviews and my own experience on the other. If you like Denny's, I see no reason to pass this one by.
(4)Robert C.
I will find the rest of the time to sit and actually write my full review of this Denny's at the Magic Mountain exit on the 5...and relay what happened Saturday, March 28th and the sheer incompetency of one of their "night managers" Marcel (I would L O V E to know how THIS incompetent rose to this position) and how he decided to treat 2 customers (us) who eat breakfast and/or VERY-LATE-NIGHT-dinners there THREE to FOUR TIMES A WEEK. Every week. More to come, hopefully today if I can clear my calendar for an hour.
(1)Vee R.
Ya everyone was right... should have listened lol Management is terrible (green shirt guy) just seeing how he treats his staff with errors and yelling at them in front of the customer is not cool. To top it off the food orders were messed up and the food was gross lol I feel like I am on the show what would you do! Just save yourself the headache!
(1)Tamara P.
Our family and friends dined here for dinner recently after a long, exhausting day spent at Magic Mountain. Our friends wanted something quick, easy and familiar that would please the kids. The restaurant didn't appear too busy, so thankfully we were seated right away. It was great to be seated in one of their large over-sized booths, which perfectly fit four adults and three children. The kids happily sat together entertaining themselves with their children's menus and crayons along with their own personal belongings, which gave the adults a fair amount of time to make their food selections. Our waiter was quite friendly taking our orders. We were pretty impressed that he was able to do it without taking any notes for such a large group, but sadly in the end it seemed like he may have forgotten to place my order since he had to check with me what I had ordered after everyone else received their meals. Even with the kids happily entertained and our great conversations, it still seemed like forever to receive our meals. We all had a long drive to follow afterwards back to Orange County, so quicker service would have definitely been much more appreciated.
(2)Chelsea P.
Excellent customer service! The people here are always so happy and nice I love coming here to start my mornings. I always order the California skillet its a great choice for my strict healthy diet
(5)Daniel E.
WOW. I was seated and greeted by an astounding server named Irfan, who took my order--BY MEMORY-- and succeeded in bringing my order correctly during a VERY busy summer evening. I myself am a server and know the difficulties of accomplishing BOTH of these feats. I will definitely be eating here again. The manager, Marcel, was also very courteous and quick to resolve all of the other tables needs! Great Job for Dennys Valencia!
(5)Kyle B.
It honestly depends on who is working whether the service is good or horrible. What constitutes as good service to me is me not having to personally ask for a cup of coffee every 30 mins. Plus the waiter looks like she is rushing trying to avoid everyone after they are seated and meals ordered. I sit here to do school work for a couple hours and I choose this Denny's because it's close to my hotel but I'm very tempted to go another Denny's. I love Denny's I absolutely do but when you wake up at 6:30 each morning goto bed at 12:00 am each day because school and work it would be nice to have a steady cup of coffee. I could easily just goto Starbucks for cheaper then here but I love me some Denny's.
(2)Ryan H.
We got seated with in 10 mins 5 mins later order food 40mins later our food shows up and it's all cold. And they said the food was just cook. Yea it was cooked half hour ago. I don't recommend eating there at all.
(1)Luzia D.
I absolutely dislike the customer service they have here. We went to this Dennys for breakfast yesterday for Memorial Day. First of all they are so slow. We got our drinks, but not even once did the waiter go up to us to check if we needed refills. I had order the grand slam and they had apparrently they had forgotten about my pancakes. I had to tell another waitress and immediately he brought it to us. I think he was the bus boy cause he was picking up plates all over the place. They took a long time in bringing us our food. The girls restroom was well stocked with seat covers, toilet paper, and soap. We were waiting on our check for a while, we ended up going to the front counter so they could charge us. The worst Dennys I've been to so far.
(1)Roberto A.
Do not go here!!! Understaffed, crapy food!! It took 50 mins to get our food we got over charged on our bill.
(1)Samantha B.
Took us about 10 min to get seated when there was no wait , got our drinks when our food was served, still sitting here writing this review, waiting for the damn check . The waiter was awesome, working his ass off the whole time, basically serving the whole floor. The oompa loompa looking manager (lalo) sat in his office the whole time while his 2 waiters were working their tails' off. Im calling corporate on this manager, but the waiter (daniel ellis) was great.
(2)Carlos O.
Can I remove this star? Poor service, management, cleanliness, just all around a disappointing experience. I am usually easy to please.
(1)Caron R.
This Dennys is awful. There is an item on the menu that said Alaska salmon served with broccoli and rice. My husband ordered it. The waiter asked what two sides he wanted. He assured it came with two side. When he gets his dinner there is just salmon and two sides. He asked where is the broccoli and rice? Waiter says it doesn't come with it. We ask for a menu. We show him he says yeah but you substituted. Left with out words. Salmon was good. Waiter needs some training.
(1)S M.
Ehh.... nothing special, was just ok. Ordered the club, waitress asks if I want the specific bread pictured in the menu, but brings it to me on wheat. One meal took forever to get to our table.
(3)Aubrey F.
Here is what I have to say about Denny's... Denny's is open 24 hours and it is conveniently located off of the freeway. It's a fun place to go when you want to eat a meal past 12am and actually want to sit in company to enjoy it (vs. A drive thru). Denny's serves breakfast all day, and frequently adds new items to the menu to keep things interesting. Above and beyond the actual food... Is the service! Our server, Daniel, is the greatest! He has an upbeat attitude and will do all that he can to enhance your dining experience! On a whim I asked him if I could get my food Togo and he obliged with a smile on his face, no questions or hesitation. If you go, make sure to ask for Daniel!
(5)Carol S.
Since we have the season pass to six flags we always tend to come to this Denny's after a long day . The food always takes long to get there , but the waiters are always so amazing & trying to please you as they can to make your visit more pleasure able ! Our waitress tonight was so attentive to us and we really appreciated it after waiting more than half an hour for food . Thanks girl !
(4)Mark M.
Worst dennys ever .. my Belgian waffle was burnt and almost everyone's eggs were cold. My hash browns were good. My toast was soo cold the butter didn't melt. There was any a cople others in the restaurant and when we went to complain the waiter went on defensive and tried to say it was our fault we got cold food. I think they are pre cooking food at this dennys we went to another dennys the next day right next to disneland and it was great... this owner is terrible to its customers just pass this one by there is a dennys at every exit just about so pass this one by on your way to the park.
(1)Amairani D.
Horrible Customer Service! Took forever to bring us our food and it wasn't even fresh! The lettuce from the salad was black! And the pancakes where hard like if they where from the morning and just warmed them back up! I am not a picky person when it comes to food but I will definitely not eat here again! You literally have to keep reminding them to bring you a refill! They forgot one order and took so long to bring it that my cousin just canceled it because the rest of us had already finished eating! If you do come here be prepared to be really patient..
(1)Victor E.
do not eat here!!!! this place deserves a 0 *!!!!!!! as you can see by the other reviews
(1)Courtney S.
I never write reviews but this Denny's needs a lot of work. As a former hostess, waitress and bartender I understand things happen but waiting 10 min to get sat as all the servers walked by us is not good practice. Finally sat it took another 5/10 min for our server to come greet us. I knew better and ordered drinks n breakfast all at once. Our meals came first and then our drinks. Food was ok. I never saw the presence of a manager. Our server never came back after he dropped the food. Not a good experience at all :/ Would not suggest eating here
(1)Amari G.
the freaking worst dennys ever. a group of coworkers and myself came here for lunch and 8 of us were not even spoken to. the waiter rigo was sooo rude it's unacceptable. if i could give this dennys zero stars i would. im a faithful yelper and i will make it a point to tell as many people as positive to never dine here!
(1)Sherry A.
This place is the most horrible restaurant I have ever been to. We came to have something to eat after a long day at Magic Mountain and was seated by a very cranky Manager at a very sticky table. We sat there for a long time and no one came to take our drink order... I asked the Manager if someone was going to take our order and he rudely said yes, another 10 or so minutes or so someone finally came to take our drink and food order ; 10 -15 more minutes and still no drinks.. We got tried of waiting so we got up walked out and had a very nice dinner at Marie Callender's where we felt welcome. So my rating for this Denny's is 0. They SUCK! I am only doing 1 star , because it won't let me do 0
(1)Purple R.
This is the WORST Denny's ever. Actually, the WORST restaurant I've ever been to. They have very slow service and a rude manager. We have a party of 14, 9 of which were children below 14 years old who were very tired and hungry after coming from Six Flags. We went to dine there just because it was the closest and the kids were all hungry. They had us wait for almost an hour!!! First, my little cousin who played with their claw machine which was out of order asked the manager that the machine was broken and ate his dollar, the manager just replied that he cant do anything about it so my little cousin politely said that they should've put an out of order sign on it and the manager just ignored him. Second, the server took like about 10mins before taking our orders. After getting our orders, we waited for roughly 45mins so I decided to talk to the manager who unfortunately is VERY rude instead of being apologetic for their poor service. His reason was, they're too busy and have only ONE cook. I get that but I would have really appreciated if he apologized first and told us the reason for delay. Also, they could've advised us that they cant accommodate large amount of people in their diner. The tables who came after us already got their meals and we on the other hand were just trying to ease our hunger with our drinks. I really have to say that their manager is nothing but arrogant who needs to reevaluate himself if he's even fit for his job. Never again will I ever eat in this restaurant. They don't even deserve a star here.

The server was nice, the food was good! The service was fast! We got our food very quickly! I would have liked for them to come check up on us for our refills &; to pick up our used plates. Other than that it was good.
(3)Tim V.
The service here is horrible. I've eaten here a few times. It's always dead and I still have to wait to be seated. The food is subpar, even considering it's a Denny's. I asked for lemons 4 times before I actually received them. Never again will I spend money here.

So bad service came here for lunch with my family took about 20 min for them to take my order according to the female guy it's the way they run the business manager he she was so unprofessional look at me like we owed him something waitress was nice not the manager the owner of this place need to hire a real manager What happen to customer is right is more like You liked or leave no wonder they have 2 stars

This is a RACIST spot! PEOPLE BEWARE!! My two younger cousins and I went to dine here for breakfast before heading over to Six Flags Magic Mountain. While we were eating a Latino kid from a family sitting across from us suddenly yelled, "Chink! He's a Chink!" I got so mad I called out to him and one who looked like his father was covering for him and said, "What are you talking about? He said jinx, jinx. What do you want?" So I told him if I were him I'd educate my kid better and the waitress came to me first and told me to stop yelling. It was pretty crowded but we were the only Asians in the restaurant so I guess it gave them the right to alienate us out like that. It was incredibly rude of them to come to warn us first when it was clear they were making racist remarks. I didn't tip them any because of that and also for their food being nasty. I ordered the sirloin steak and it was garbage. Someone tell me if I should sue these guys for letting something like that slide.

Worst service I've ever gotten took 20 mins for someone to come get my drink order by that time I wanted to leave. Cocos is around the corner pay a little more and get good service

Stopped off here last Friday for a good breakfast before a long day at Magic Mountain. It seems like eeeeveryone on Yelp has mentioned the slow wait times so I was afraid we'd be there for a while, but our food came out quick and hot! Woohoo! I ordered the blueberry pancake meal they have special for 4th of July. It's 2 blueberry pancakes topped with strawberries and drizzled with cream cheese icing. Also comes with your choice of bacon or sausage, hash browns, and 2 eggs however you like (all for $6.99!). The sausage was icky, the hash browns were average, and the eggs were pretty mediocre. That's Denny's for you. But DUDE, the pancakes were awesome! I loved them! The blueberries and the strawberries and the cream cheese and the carbs and I could go on and on. They tasted like dessert. A dessert I could eat every night (if I didn't care about being 300 pounds). Our waiter did forget to bring us our check, so we had to go wait at the register. That was kinda lame. So with the great pancakes and quick food delivery plus slow check and mediocre eggs/sausage, I guess I'll settle on three stars. Would've been 2 if those pancakes hadn't been so darn delicious.

Management should know that the guy with the black hair in a ponytail at the front counter was pretty rude. I came in for a to-go order. When he handed me my receipt to sign, the pen was on the counter right next to him far from my reach. I extended out my hand to reach for the pen and he just looked at me rudely and then pointed to the pen as if I didn't see it. I know you can't expect great customer service at denny's but still...

We came in the evening on a Saturday. Wasn't busy at all. The guy at the cash register was rude. We walked in and asked if we seat ourselves since we weren't greeted. He rudely replied "I'm busy right now you need to wait" then not even 20 seconds later decided on his time he was ready to seat us. Ok guy. Restaurant was clean. Bathrooms were clean. Food was basic Denny's food. Burger was very messy. Needed napkins, the waitress brought 2. Why do they never bring enough? They ran out of straws for the kids cups they were promoting. I asked if we get a discount and she laughed. I guess I was pretty funny.
(3)Martin A.
I got in ordered and got out in 20 flat. My server was fast and polite. My food was hot prepared as ordered. The restaurant was quite and clean. 05:45 am. The best Denny's I've been to in a long time. I'll be back.
(3)Sophia D.
Wow! I don't usually post anything, but this is THE WORST place to eat. Spent the day at hungry valley while the kids were at magic mountain. Decided to leave early before picking up kids to get a good meal. Denny's buffalo chicken strips, mozzarella sticks and a house salad. Favorite:) We got seated pretty quickly and our server was racking up points by memorizing our order. We were hungry tired and ready to eat n relax before driving two hours home. Food came fairly quick, as my cousin was preparing her salad a hair came pouring out of her ranch dressing. :( ok so we order another salad. Another salad comes w quickness. As she's eating...another hair. Needless to say she was done w her meal she didn't get to eat. I had a salad as well that I could no longer eat. Manager never came to the table to apologize. We asked to talk to him on the way out and he cowardly stayed behind the counter acting busy. He told the waiter to go ahead and discount our salads. OUR WHOLE MEAL SHOULD'VE BEEN DISCOUNTED! So disgusted! Now we are at Marie calendars for hopefully a better dessert experience.

Worst experience I have ever had. Waited 20 minutes just to get drinks. Soda was full carbonation. Waiter was rude when confronted about it. Watched the cooks and servers argue. Waited over an hour and half to get half of the food we ordered. Then server comes out and tells us it was under cooked. Unbelievable. Spoke to the manager about the terrible service. He just gave a blank stare. I watched the manger put ketchup on the tables and walk around with a stack of menus. He walked past the kitchen and literally scratched his head and walked away. Why aren't you managing your team?! No one is doing their job, and the ones that are attempting it are either extremely slow or have not been trained. No acknowledgement. No apologies. We walked out.

I used to go to Denny's quite a bit when I was a kid, typically on Sunday's for their French Toast. I stay away now because I'm trying to eat healthy and watch my weight, but on my recent trip to Palm Springs, this seemed to be the only option at 11p.m. on a Sunday. This particular Denny's is right across from Magic Mountain and was steadily busy for 11p.m. We were quickly seated and given our menus and waters. I glanced over the menu and I went with one of their Fit Fare items. I ordered Chicken Avocado Sandwich, which kept my dinner at under 550 Calories. The sandwich was a grilled seasoned chicken breast, sliced avocado, pico de gallo, and lettuce on a whole wheat bun. The sandwich was served with fresh veggies on the side. For a Denny's sandwich, I enjoyed it. The sandwich was tasty, the chicken was nicely grilled, and the fresh avocado and pico de gallo really gave it a healthy crunch. The bun didn't fall apart, which tends to happen a lot with wheat buns. The fresh veggies were nothing but some cucumbers and carrot slices. I'd have to say my sandwich was well worth the $8 and some change. Also, our server was a great guy who always kept checking up on us and refilling our drinks. I might consider Denny's more often after this pleasant experience. Ambiance: 3 Stars (out of 5) Food: 3 Stars (out of 5) Service: 4 Stars (out of 5) Price: $ Overall: 3 Stars (out of 5)

It's Denny's. It's not a steak house (though they have steak), it's not an Italian place (though they have spaghetti), and it's not a burger joint (though they have burgers). It's a place to go when there's nowhere else to go. This location is by the Holiday Inn across the freeway from Six Flags. When we got out of the park most places were already closed. Denny's wasn't. And it was an easy walk (no need to drive) from the hotel. So we ate here. The food is adequate. A lot better than fast food places like McD's or BK or Wendy's. But not really "good". Except their breakfast skillets...I like those. Not the "Slam", but the skillet. Very tasty. On this occasion I just felt like pasta so I got their Brooklyn spaghetti. It was fine. Nothing special. But when everywhere else is closed, and you're hungry, you can get a reasonable facsimile of food here and it's not bad.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! It's a waste of your time if you do. After a long day at six flags my family & I wanted to eat somewhere close to the hotel & Denny's was right next door to the hotel. We waited 15 mins to be seated even though there were many tabes available. Anyway we sat down the host said he will bring us some utensils... After 20 mins nothing no water no utensils no waiter. We gave an extra 5 mins still nothing so we left. The service sucks. No one acknowledged us or anything. Save your time and eat somewhere else. Never again gonna go here when we visit. This review is about two weeks old, but it was on my "to do" list, so I could make sure I got it done! This has got to be the worse Denny's I have ever been to. I live in Valencia, and it is embarrassing to me. Tourist who come to our town to go to Magic Mountain, don't have many late night options. Denny's is pretty much it. Therefore you would think that they would represent, and try to up their game, so our guests would have a decent dining experience. I went there late night, and upon arrival we were seated and given menus. We wited and wited, by too one even came to ask us if we wanted drinks. Finally, my friend had to get up and summon a waiter. He took our breakfast order. We asked for the hash "browns" to be brown, or more specifically, well done. The y came out yellow, as if they had been turned over twice for a few seconds and put on the plate. My friend order pancakes. About halfway through eating them, he discovered raw batter. They hadn't even cooked the pancakes all the way through. No matter, my roommate got food poisoning there from a sandwich, about a year ago! She has never gone again and never will. The only reason I gave it two stars is because they didn't charge us for the breakfast with the raw batter, and they brought us some new has browns that were well done. Honestly, I'm sure the only reason it is still in business, is because of the magic mountain visitors and the hotel guests next door.

I have been here many times in the past the food is always good, most of the servers are good except one whom argued with me about a question i had on the bill..since this incident she has been extremely rude while visiting therafter, and actually avoids my party when I come back in. The manager is nice but you will notice she is usually sitting up and the counter eating or drinking herself rather than managing her staff or greeting guests. This is a nice place to go to dine if you go during the off season of magic mountain being open as its usually empty then.

My friend and I were staying in the area on the way to Hollywood. This happened to be the only restaurant in the area that we could agree upon. Good prices and decent service. I got exactly what I expected from a Denny's location. Nothing too fancy or too extraordinary. I'd come back again if I was in the area.
(3)Nancy Y.
Okay, normally I wouldn't bother with a Denny's. It's a quick stop diner, so no high expectations. But this place didn't even meet a minimum expectation. We stopped here because we weren't really thinking. We'd been in horrible LA traffic for 4 hours. Ours kids were hungry and my son needed a diaper change. I just wanted cheap eats. Well, to my shagrin, they did not have a diaper changing table. Maybe I wasn't paying attention before, but I could have sworn I'd seen one in every other Denny's I'd been too. Dispite the distinct lack of customers and the distinct abundance of workers, we waited for over 5 minutes just to be acknowledged by the hostess. We ended up leaving, without anyone knowing we were there. Don't waste your time here. There are plenty of eateries on the other side of 405 from this hole in the ground. Also they are easier to get to then this place, and have more parking... I'm just saying.

Let me preface by saying that I don't expect gourmet food and five-star service at Denny's, but I do expect competent service and good-tasting food. Most of my past experiences have met those requirements, but my visit this past Saturday morning leaves much to be desired. I went for breakfast with my wife and mother. Things started poorly. My mother is a regular and just wanted to say hello to her normal waitress (who was not assigned to our table). Without looking up as my mother said hello, the waitress shouted back "Your server will be with you shortly. I'm not assigned to your table." Well, that wasn't the point, it was simply a customer trying to say hello. Such a rude response was absolutely astounding. Next strike was the food itself. The eggs were cold, different pieces of the meal arrived separately (first the pancakes, followed by the eggs, bacon and biscuit). All in all, service was spotty, at best. This was after the breakfast crowd had thinned so being busy would not fly as an excuse. The final strike was the difficulty in getting the check. We asked no less than three times over a 15 minute period. Finally, we got up to pay at the front counter and explain the situation. Not even an apology. I wasn't expecting anything for free, just a simple "I'm sorry." The manager seemed to care less. They can take their business and stuff it as I had been a somewhat regular customer, but will never return to this location.

Visiting the area from Idaho came in here to eat since it was right by the hotel. Was seated got our drinks an placed our order. In the all most hour since we got seated not once has the waitress came by to check on us or refill my coffee. The service here sucks an we haven't even gotten our food yet!! So tempted to just walk out an hit up McDonalds! Do Not Go To This Denny's worst experience ever we left without ever getting our food.

My family took me here for brunch Friday around 11am. The place was not packed but the service was definitely a no star. Our server, rigo took drink orders, brought all our waters and disappeared until mom walked over to one of the people standing in front of the kitchen waiting for orders to come out. After takin our orders, the food took almost an hour and no one checked on us to even assure us that our order is being prepared. Half of my brother's order came out and pancakes followed 20-30 minutes later when his eggs, bacon and sausage have gone cold. We saw the pancakes just sitting at the counter for a good 5 minutes before mom AGAIN asked the manager for our pancake. The light fixtures are really dusty and the seats had food particles when they sat us to our table as well. I definitely would rather drive 10miles down the road for another Denny's . I don't recommend this Denny's branch at all

I understand now why this Denny's has a 2* rating. I wish I could leave a no star rating. Our food came out cold. Over easy eggs came out as over medium. Meat was old and rubbery. Hash browns were cold. Pancake was hard around edges. You could tell it had not been freshly made. Waitress forgot daughters milk. Why is it so difficult to prepare and serve food with care? Hot. Fresh. And with friendly service. Waitress was attentive closer to end. Not so much in the beginning.

You get what you pay for at Denny's where the food just doesn't taste good when sober. Before going to Magic Mountain, we wanted some breakfast since we woke up early to be there right when the park opened. We waited a long time for our waiter. Then, he messed up and mixed up our order. He understood "no eggs and no extra side of bacon" by providing me with a plate of eggs and a side of bacon. One plate was inedible because the plate was ice cold. I found it funny how my pancakes absorbed all the syrup in a second. The manager took off 20% off the check but unfortunately couldn't compensate for time wasted.

Predictable and plentiful. Denny's is consistent. We always find ourselves at Denny's on road trips. They have plenty of offerings for everyone-some healthy, some sweet, some downright sinful. Great for when you're on vacation and need a jump start. This location is near 2 motels & across the freeway from Magic Mountain. We had a great experience with fast service, seated quickly & the food was prepared extraordinarily fast considering the size of our group of10. I got the Harvest Oatmeal breakfast-oats with eggs & turkey bacon plus a side of fruit-cantaloupe & grapes. Everybody else got Lumberjack breakfasts, Chicken Fried Steaks & big breakfasts like that. It was very quiet during the meal and not much left afterward! I would eat here again, especially before or after a trip to Magic Mountain.

I'm a fan of Denny's, especially when on the road. This location shares the same parking lot as the Holiday Inn Express and Best Western. It's a newer establishment and the decor is updated but still diner-themed. I visited about 7am, once on a Sunday and once on a Wednesday. On both occasions I was almost the only customer, if not the only one. My waitress was friendly. The food took a long time to arrive considering it wasn't busy at all. But, the food was hot and fresh and I enjoyed my food once I had it. I like to order the make-your-own Grand Slam and the Fit Fare Omelette. Both selections have always been consistent and delicious. I recommend this location, but they could improve their speed in the kitchen in the morning.
(3)Erik L.
Simple. "Build your own Grand Slam:" Pick any 4 of the following - bacon, buttermilk biscuit, buttermilk pancakes, chicken sausage, egg white, eggs, english muffin, grits, hash browns, wheat pancakes, oatmeal, sausage links, toast, turkey bacon, or milk & granola. Yep, that pretty much covers it. End of story. So we all ordered, well, that. Got there at 8:30 am on a Sunday morning and had the place to ourselves. This Denny's was clean, the service was great, the food was quickly served and the coffee train kept a rollin'. What more do you want for breakfast?
(4)La C.
Not as bad as I expected. I haven't been to a Denny's in ages so I was not up on all the changes and menu options. We were starving and ordered a number of items, the chicken soup was decent, my son liked it. The dinner salad was also good. I went with the fish and shrimp plate on the $8 menu, tasty. My son and husband were content with their burgers too. The only real minus was the service, our waiter in our section was super slow and another girl ended up helping us. But once our order was place our food came out quick. The location is good, next to the freeway and two hotels so seems like they are always busy.

Denny's was THE spot in high school and the beginnings of college. The food was never the best, but it did the job on those late night adventures or all-nighters studying. I have too many memories to count about this place, all worth mentioning. The thing about this Denny's is that you always had a story to tell after, whether it was the way you got there, what you had to do after, or even what waiter you had. From what I remember there were four different people who'd have the pleasure to take your order: the sweaty guy, the high lady, dude with dreads, or some college student trying to get by. No stories about the college kids, they were always good and just trying to do their job. The sweaty guy always was crackin' jokes, almost all of them hilariously unfunny. I have to admit that he was my favorite waiter. And I swear he had a twin working at another Denny's somewhere else in the world. The high lady always got your order wrong, but that was okay because she'd always make it up to you with extra food or an added dessert. The dude with the dreads was a real nice guy. I wish I knew his name, but calling him Bob Marley was enough for him. Don't expect great food, but expect some great stories, either to tell or receive almost every time.

Haven't been to a Denny's in years, but i was staying at the HIE that shares the same parking lot so ordered dinner to-go two times. Good news: menu and quality of food is better than I remember. Bad news: if you look at the nutritional information, everything is pretty high-sodium. More Bad news: the staff at the cashier desk really vary in attitude and service-orientation. One guy is so bad, he doesn't wear a name tag, i suspect because he knows everyone who comes in contact with him would complain to management. I know i would - he was HORRIBLE. To be fair, he was also taking orders, but still, there were at most 6 parties in the restaurant at the time. And final Bad news: if you try to call, 50/50 chance they will pick up the phone. The first night they did so i was able to order ahead of time and just pick it up in person. The second time, they didn't - it rang 25 times... yes, i counted... so i hung up and tried again... and gave up again after 20 times. Denny's Valencia: Get your act together

I'm reviewing Denny's after our bad experience at the San Diego airport where they had no electricity so we had to fight for a rental car to drive back to San Francisco. We stayed at a hotel near here and it was early morning and before heading on the road again. Good fast service, not what I remember during college of drunk customers and the poor wait staff had to put up with losers. Denny's is a life saver on long trips when it's either too late or too early and no other restaurant is opened.
(4)Wendy M.
Super slow. We came here once before and didn't get seated after 30 minutes. I just figured it was because it was so busy, so I was pretty forgiving. But here we are again, out of sheer convenience, and it's not busy at all. We've been here for 15 minutes and have only seen the waitress twice. Wtf. Mehhh skip please.
(1)Kim F.
Our family enjoys going to Denny's for the grand slams.
(3)Anthony Y.
My class was on a field trip at an amusement park and on our way back home, we stopped by to eat a meal. i came with friends at around 7:10 at night and the place was about 20% full so the waitress took no time to escort us to our table. But when we got to our table, the table was not that clean to my expectations. Dude... the table still had spots of maple syrup on the surface and who knows how long it's been there. The waitress came after two minutes after we made up our mind. Me and my friend ordered the build your own grand slam, and my other friend ordered broccoli and cheddar soup. After we ordered our food at around 7:15, this is when our visit really went downhill. We passed the time with a conversation and after about three minutes, my friend got her soup. We know that we should be impressed by the speed that the soup came out, but was that soup made days ago and microwaved? With that thought being planted into our minds, my friend lost his appetite a bit. Therefore, he only had about half of the soup instead. For us, the grand slam took much more longer so we already know that it is being made from scratch at that night. However, why would they take about half an hour to make the grand slam? We only ordered simple dishes which were hash browns, scrambled eggs, two slices of toast, and two pancakes. These dishes should have taken at most 10 minutes. But nooooo..., they took about half an hour which was about a minute before we had to board the bus. So we hungry kids quickly ate the food which were too large to fit in the take-out box. After that we ran to the bus with the warm box in our hands while my teacher was counting us off. Three stars is already generous enough for Denny's in valencia, but making us really hungry by waiting for food after half an hour and making us almost late for the bus, I would have to give you a two :P
(2)John M.
This Denny's is hit or miss. I went there the other night and got the worst service ever. I'm giving it a 2 because sometimes the service is 1/5 and others is 5/5... Why does the cashier ask if everything is alright...but when you say no, they just say "oh, I'm sorry" and carry on charging your credit card?
(2)Oberto O.
We stayed near by and wanted somewhere that we could takes kids. We waited for 45 minutes. The waiter was rude and seemed upset that I asked for sugar. Our food came out cold. My sausage was cold as were the hash browns. Pancakes were cold and seemed old. I would NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!! I wish I could give this place no stars!

the dining room was FILTHY this weekend, unnacceptable! i don't even want to begin to imagine what the kitchen looked like. didn't bother, just walked right back out.

If I can give this place a 0 or a negative star, I would, but I'll give a 1 star for the food because at least that was good. I came here a few years ago with my family (cousins and siblings) after Six Flags Magic Mountain. Seems like they're prejudice against Asian people or people who looked like high school/college students. Sure, we were a group of ten Asian people, but we still had enough money to pay for whatever we ordered. The server pretty much ignored us...and they double charged us on one item. I came with one cousin and two siblings another time and we got terrible service. I suppose they only serve their own kind...
(1)Annette L.
8/1/11 food was okay - salad was weak not much except iceberg lettuce; roast beef sandwich meat was moist and cheese fries were too salty
(2)Johnny G.
Had breakfast here before Six Flags on MLK Day. We split this sandwich from Hell together. "The Grand Slamwich" ; it's a grilled concoction that had cheese, sausage, bacon, and ham in it. Dipped in ketchup. OMG. Killer. This sandwich is a stoner's wet dream (not that I do that anymore, LOL). Very very sinful. It wasn't quite the Moon Over My Hammy, but a close enough bigger, kick-ass cousin...Lucky enough to get a reasonably competent server who got our stuff to us fast. It was starting to get busy with tourist families just as we were leaving. That breakfast sandwich was EVIL. I'm soooo having it again...
(4)Zoey W.
I've been coming to this Denny's for breakfast once a week for quite a while now and their food and service have always been excellent. I know there are "haters" out there who will never be satisfied. Their "Pick 4 items Grand Slam" breakfast is a good deal, I can get my favorite which is: 2 eggs, turkey bacon, oatmeal and a short stack of pancakes for $5.99. Their food is way better and less expensive than other breakfast places in SCV (especially Eggs n' Things). The servers are always friendly and efficient. They will keep your coffee cups filled and bring extra napkins without being asked. Even the cashiers are always nice. This Denny's definitely sets the bar high for other Denny's.
(5)Betty B.
Ew. I do not like this Denny's. My glass of orange juice came close to $4. My pancakes were undercooked. Once I found a synthetic piece of hair/string on my toast and when I asked for a new slice they agrued it looke lik my hair but it obviously was not hair then charged me for the toast. The waiters weren't very nice and often left me thirsty. I won't go back. BTW my awful meal was $12.
(1)linda l.
Considering that it was jammed packed with waiting people on December 25th. I felt we were treated very nicely. Hubby ordered a mush room burger, son got his chicken strips and i got chicken fried steak. Hubby was not happy that they forgot his mushroom. ( apparently they ran out) The waiter was nice enought to give us comped onion rings. Thanks Dennys!!
(4)Foodie B.
I rarely go to Denny's these days, unless it's out of convenience such as happened this last visit where I was going to Central CA and wanted to stop somewhere for a sit in breakfast. Being on the 5 fwy North past LA, the choices are limited to what's roadside. I regretted coming here. They put loads of butter on my english muffin and a lot of salt on my omellette. I squeezed the muffins like a sponge and the plate was covered with butter from just one muffin. I almost threw the muffin back at the manager when I see the fatass just laughin with her crew, knowing I was on a company trip and needed to get going. Don't these f*cking cowpolks have anything better to do in the morning. Don't ever stop at this Denny's next to the 5 fwy North by Castaic. They treat your meal and time like a joke. F*ck you Denny's.
