Pretty good! I wanted Maui Chicken but they close at 8 PM, and since Yogi's closed at 9 PM, I was game. I got the Chicken and Beef Plate (comes with potato salad, oranges, rice, and meat) without the rice, and got the Chicken Teriyaki Veggie for Jeff. Like a reviewer posted, the Teriyaki Beef is really good. You don't expect it to be that flavorful, and most beef teriyaki is dry and not as good as its chicken counterpart. I concur. But, both were tasty! Get the spicy vinegar sauce to put ontop if you like your shit hot! =) I'll come back again if we are in a pinch for some good teriyaki. I do want to try Yoshinoya and Maui Chicken out too though, but this is definitely a good one to have on standby!

Teriyaki joint are a dime a dozen. To make one memorable, a restaurant would have to offer something immensely unique. Or, they would have to have the BEST of a common dish. Well, let me introduce you to the South Bay's best Teriyaki BEEF. Often times, teriyaki beef is dry and tough. Restaurants rely on teriyaki sauce to provide the flavor. Well listen to me I say Yogi's is a different story. Yes, their chicken, sauce, and rice are delicious. But what sets them apart is their beef. It's pretty much the only place Ill order teriyaki beef. Some say it's made with pieces of heaven and marinated in sweet juices from the Gods. If so, I'd believe it. Like I said, teriyaki joints are a dime a dozen. But this place is different. It's outstanding. And the teriyaki beef is the best in the South Bay. Let it be known.

It's fine. Being the glutton that I am, I ordered the "chicken/beef bowl". This place was one of those random places that Yelp sometime helps to seek out in a city with a sea of similar restaurants, and I'm for the most part glad. I've given up trying to find a good place that offers a cheaper price than what they have here. While it's definitely worst teriyaki chicken I've had, it is not the best. Back to my order: I ordered the 'chicken/beef bowl", and to my half-surprise, it was literally just chicken and beef teriyaki resting on a huge bed of rice. I'm a little disappointed with the lack of at least some sides in exchange for about half the tray of rice, but I can't really complain because it was filling. The chicken was fine and the teriyaki sauce was also fine, not too sweet and not too savory. I also tasted a hint of mirin(?) or something sharp; that was delightful. The beef however was subpar, because I got a lot more cartilage than I expected from a beef dish. Aside from that, the lack of sides (I'm sure it's the teriyaki plate menu that comes with sides), and the inclusion of way too much rice, I think I would come back. Just for the chicken next time. Oh and I hate driving out of that parking lot. Sepulveda is a long road and around that area, it's usually filled with angry and/or old people that makes me question why they were given license to operate a moving car, and the fact that there's no turning left onto Sepulveda or Anza means that I have to deal with more of them.

The Chicken Bowl is the best meal I've had in awhile and priced right. I can get Two or three Meals out of portion of food you get, well worth it. Would love to have it two or three straight in a row, I think that would be really awesome.

My favorite dish is beef or chicken teriyaki salad plate!! The serving portion is huge! Very quick service and the price is reasonable!!

After eating lunch here a couple days ago, ordering the beef/chicken bowl I suffered from the worst food poisoning I have ever been through. I am 2 days into this mess and still have sharp stomach pains. The meat looked horrible when I opened the carton and I should of known better. Terrible and I'm still paying the price.

This is a great place for tempura and teriyaki chicken or beef. The food is authentic and has good flavor! I highly recommend.

I like Yogi's better than the Flame Broiler that is closer to my house. The teriyaki is good and they serve tempura. The large bowl is a lot of food. The small bowl is the size of a large at Flame Broiler. The space is clean and has indoor seating. Service is friendly. It can get busy during weekday lunchtime. I have been there when the parking lot is full.

I had talked to a coworker about this place and Rascal's. He said that this place was as good as Rascal, but with no wait. So we had to try it. Since we were near by I decided to check out their reviews. I convinced my wife to try it. You know what, it's a good local shop. I normally like beef, but their chicken is much better. She really liked the chicken as well. The place is just straight forward. Tables, counter to order, soda fountain. After you pay for your order, you can take a seat and they will bring your order to your table. A small bowl is $5 and the large is $8. The large can be shared people. The big surprise for me was the unique hot sauce they had. It's really hard to describe what the taste is, but it's really good. Other good thing is they so accept credit card. Many of the mom and pop shops like the "cash only" option, so it's real good.

The food here is overall not bad for a teriyaki food place. What bothered me that they didn't have miso soup even though it was on the menu. I needed something hot for my throat that day. When my boyfriend asked the gentleman with the glasses behind the counter for some hot water he smugly said he didn't have any! No hot water in a restaurant when the tap comes out at 140 degrees. That's either poor customer service or ignorance. We still dropped $26 to feed my family of four for lunch.

I rushed in one Friday evening at my son's request and the Yogi's was about to close. However ,they took my order with a smile and the food was tasty. I will definitely be back to try more on their menu.

  • Katie W.

I love Yogi's. Very affordable and delicious! Staff members are typically very friendly, and I think that they offer some of the best teriyaki in the area. My favorite item on the menu is the chicken bowl with rice and vegetables. If you are getting food to go (which I would say most people probably do, because it's a relatively small space), make sure that they package everything up really well, including any sauces you may have packed. A few times when getting food to go, by the time I've gotten it home, the sauce had completely exploded all over the bag. I would definitely recommend Yogi's!

  • J B.

Way better than Rascals for the simplicity and the better beef. Less fatty and less chewy than the others around the area. Great deal for $7 and a lot of food. Would love to see brown rice added... Let me know when it is and I will be back soon!

Stopped by on a whim for lunch today - glad I did! My daughter & I were helped by staff member "Kate" - she had such an awesome attitude, it made for a great experience! We had the chicken teriyaki bowls, which were delicious - even better than Rascals. I also had the veggie tempura, which was fantastic - nice and crunchy! We'll definitely be back. :)

I regularly eat here because the food is consistently great and a decent price for the portion sizes you recieve. The owner is also very nice which contributes to me being a regular customer.

Solid lunch choice for the south bay area. Located next door to subway. The beef is better than rascals beef teriyaki and the chicken was decent. Just didn't have as much flavor as rascals. The lunch special is for a bowl and drink for 5.99. Which is an okay deal IMO. Service is friendly and quick so if you're in the area its a solid lunch option.

  • Robert M.

Large combo bowl and yogis plate are awesome. Food is full of taste, portions are huge, everything is a good value, staff is good and the place is never that crowded. Don't bother with the crowd at rascals try Yogi's!

  • Martin R.

I love Yogi's. Ever since the first time i had it i just can't stop. Maybe it's in the teriyaki sauce? Regardless, everytime i've gone i get the Large Chicken/Beef/Veggie bowl that totals out to $8.06 & depending on how hungry i am it's either dominated in one sitting or i can save half for later to still be enjoyed. The beef has a specific taste to it as if it were smoked & the veggies still have a nice crunch to it all. Maybe blanched? You can never go wrong with chicken lol. I always call ahead order & is ready to go when i get there. Can't complain but can't stop loving it. Thanks guys

This is the best teriyaki joint I've ever been to. Rascal's is overrated. Yogi's teriyaki sauce is better too.

Normally I'd give this place 5 stars but tonight the Mexican guy working hipped me on almost half the meat on my large bowl then to top it off he left my food uncovered for almost five minutes while he took three orders before closing it and giving it to me so my food was cold

    (1)
  • Terena T.

Unfortunately this place did not live up to the reviews. I think the chicken was about a week old, very dry and tough. The brown rice, smothered with soy sauce was the only decent thing. I would not recommend this place.

  • Jesse T.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. I used to work around that area and this would be my go to place for teriyaki. The staff is amazing. You can call in your order in advance they will have it ready for you when you get there. I have tried almost everything on the menu and must say....AMAZING! If your in the city of Torrance and you want some great teriyakim this is def the best place to eat at!

Came in for a quick bite during my lunch break and ehh it was ok. My chicken was super dry so I had to add extra sauce. Its ok if you're on a press for time and dont want fast food burgers. Ehh might be back if im in a hurry.

It's my first time eating here and I am definitely surprised! This was better than I thought it would be. My initial expectation was that it'd be a low-quality, fast food place like yoshinoya. Their Chicken Teriyaki bowl definitely blew me away. Simple and delicious. Their employees provide quick, kind, and courteous service as soon as you walk in the door. I love it! Thanks for a great lunch Yogi's Teriyaki House.

  • C.G. L.

The teriyaki chicken and beef are really good! Even the rice tastes good. The teriyaki sauce is just right, not too sweet. I would say this is one of the best teriyaki I've tasted. The prices are very reasonable. I had the lunch special - chicken and beef combo bowl with drink for just $5.99.

    (5)
  • Nina L.

Pretty small, take out teriyaki place. Comparable to Yoshinoya beef bowl. I ordered the white meat chicken bowl with rice, which was decent at best. However after my meal within about an hour, I felt extremely lethargic/tired, and very thirsty. Leads me to believe they use MSG in their food. I know MSG is prevalent in a lot of foods/sauces, and I'm sure consume it often, but I felt pretty worthless for the rest of the afternoon. My boyfriend felt similarly as well. Won't come here again.

    (2)

Great teriyaki chicken with having the option for white meat only! I definitely try to come here often.

First time stopping by at Yogi's and I must say, I've been missing out. It's a small, clean, well lit, and cozy place with Yogi actually being there! This place has good prices and the serving size is phenomenal! The gyoza and the au jous sauce are splendid! Definitely my favorite teriyaki place around! Also the service is fast and friendly.

I love teriyaki food and Yogis is by far the best in the South Bay. I love to get the chicken veggie plate with brown rice and white meat chicken. Its healthy and very filling and most of all very tasty. Service is good and fairly quick. It can get busy during the week around lunch time so if you are in a hurry you should call in your order ahead of time. I highly recommend Yogis for teriyaki.

  • Jon C.

Had a chicken bowl from here on a Sunday afternoon. Got it to go. Nothing special about this place. They make a decent teriyaki bow. I would eat here again since Rascal's is closed on Sundays. They have sauces you can help yourself to at the register.

  • Dennis L.

I would have to say yogis is number 1 when it comes to teriyaki! Although the parking can be tricky at times yogis has a great taste, good selection of food, and is very prompt with service. They have my business!

  • Taylor K.

When I don't feel like cooking, I just call Yogi's and place an order for pickup. Their beef is good, but I'd stay away from the chicken. It tends to be bit on the dry side no matter how many times I tell them don't cook it too much. Remember to tell them you want the beef "soft" that way they don't over cook and make it taste like beef jerky. Once we ordered and and I had such a hard time chewing it because it was so hard, my jaws were hurting. Anyway, you get what I'm saying. Just emphasize "soft" to who ever is taking your order. Their meat isn't the best quality, but the sauce is great. They also have pre packaged hot sauce and teriyaki sauce out and ready for you to grab as much as you want.

    (3)
  • Kristen Q.

Simply, I enjoyed my combo terriyaki chicken and beef plate. It's cheaper than Flame Broiler and the chicken is more tender and tastes better, IMO. Good deal! Also, service is fast, polite--- even during lunch rush hour!

  • Kalina B.

I love yogis. So close to my house, and my go to when I don't know what to eat. Chicken is not fatty like rascals. The boyfriend lives the tenpura And my five year old loves her chicken and rice!

  • Ruben S.

I have been a fan of yogi's every since the first time I tired it a few years back. This is one of my favorite lunch spots. The only thing I ever order is the chicken and beef bowl. Depending on how hungry you are you have the option to order a small one or a large one. The staff is very friendly, the prices are very reasonable and your food comes out relatively quick. You have access to unlimited teriyaki sauce and sriracha sauce. Now granted you can find a teriyaki joint about every half mile in any direction you go, but what really sets this place apart from the others is the beef. The beef is very tender, juicy and delicious. I don't care if you are a vegetarian, vegan or flat out just don't eat red meat, you have to try the beef at least one time because could change you life for the better. So in case you are missing it, if there is only one item you can try then my point is to try the beef damn it!! but the chicken isn't bad too. Check it out!

With my brother and sister and we're cruising the westside of Torrance. We've seen this place time and time again and decided to give it a try since we felt like teriyaki chicken. Here's how it went down. Between the 3 of us we ordered 2 beef and chicken plates and 1 chicken bowl. This is rare but the food came out and looked exactly like the pictures. I mean that never happens. The beef was so sweet and succulent, it was dreamy! The chicken was nice and full of flavor. I asked for mac salad instead of potato salad, it was good not great! The small restaurant was clean and you could smell it from the outside, made my mouth water. Unlimited soda refills and the employees are really nice. I would def suggest this place over Rascals. Will I again? Absolutely, this is my go to for teriyaki! Toots!

  • Dale C.

This is my favorite local terriyaki place. It's nothing fancy, but gives a solid beef/chicken bowl with large enough portions to make a beast like me hit food coma. My go-to is special #3 large. It's a dollar extra, which ends up being $7.xx, and I usually save about 1/3 of it to take home. They do provide quick service in both ordering and serving the food. Parking is plentiful. The owner also has an incessant coy but nice laugh that will brighten anyone's day!

    (4)
  • Ed L.

Good place for good quality beef and chicken teriyaki. Service is good and quick and prices are reasonable. Rascals edges this place out in terms of quality, but sometimes the lines there are way too long.

  • Justin R.

I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed the food here. I always drove past it because Maui Chicken is right across the street, Rascals is about a mile and a half from them too. I've got a couple options when it comes to Teriyaki and I have to admit I still enjoy Maui Chicken and Rascals more but a decent place. I ordered a large chicken, beef and veggie plate. I ate pretty much all of it except a few veggies and a lot rice. The chicken was cooked well and the beef wasn't tough or chewy like I thought it would be. Their teriyaki is sweet and thick and that's how I prefer it. Then for some heat they've got sriracha! They've got a really nice crew working there, really easy going dudes.

This place makes some good teriyaki chicken and beef which is the ones I tried. The salad lacks flavor but okay because the teriyaki & orange slices make up for it. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner & he seems really nice. This location is clean & cozy, parking is provided. I recommend you check it out!

I came here to pick up dinner after hungrily looking at Yelp... just as bad as grocery shopping while hungry, I swear! With decent reviews and low prices, I decided to give Yogi's a shot. Before I expand upon my visit, I'd like to point out that I only got the veggie bowl; if I would have gotten meat, I could have felt otherwise. With that said, I truly did not enjoy my meal. The veggies had absolutely no teriyaki sauce on them, and I only took one small container of it on the side, so it didn't have enough flavor at all. Additionally, the rice was extremely mushy and pretty much inedible. Bonus points for the low prices and steamed veggies. They were light and healthy, not oily as I feared they might be. All in all, I will most likely not waste time or money coming back again.

  • Maria L.

The food here is good but to me it s not worth going to anymore. I usually go in on my lunch break and both cooks stare at me while I'm waiting. The most recent time I've been there I ate in and the WHOLE time, the cook was staring at me with no expression on his face. SO uncomfortable. I also noticed him staring at a man's wife while he was packaging someones food for almost a minute. Needless to say, I didn't finish my meal because I couldn't stand it anymore.

Only ate here once, but wow, I hope to become a frequent customer. The portions were huge. The chicken and rice combo was delicious. Sauce was a perfect flavor. Excited to come back soon.

I really enjoyed the combo teriyaki chicken/beef plate. It was just how I like it with no veggies, ordered with no green onions. I would describe the flavor is having a charred flavor so if you like that BBQ grilled char flavor then this is the place! Good quality chicken and beef. Tasted fresh and lean. Nice place to chill.

I popped into this place today for lunch just because I've seen it here in the past when I'd stop into Starbucks in this mini-mall. I checked Mobile Yelp and noticed that it hadn't been reviewed before. It's a small, simple and modest little fast food Japanese joint located at the Starbuck's Pavilion. You order at the counter and I requested the small Chicken Veggie which came with white rice, pieces of teriyaki chicken and a half of steamed vegetables consisting of cabbage, brocolli and carrots. It wasn't bad for $4.99 although the chicken pieces were cut up small and weren't like the traditional strips of chicken. It made me think my dish was composed of left over pieces of chicken because some of the pieces were really small, I mean, really small! It tasted decent for the price. Not certain I'd eat here again. Although it seems to be a popular spot with the local lunch crowd as it got busy as I was finishing my meal since it's obviously a place for a quick and average meal on the cheap. I scanned the menu and linked it above.

Yogi's Teriyaki Grill is a fast-food joint located on the North-east quadrant of the busy intersection of Sepulveda BLVD and Anza Avenue. It services the hungry children, and to be honest I dont know how they are surviving out there. I know food poisoning gives you character-- but in surprised it hadn't got the boot yet! Their horrendous tasting chicken tasted just like Bomball's chicken food soup thing whatever the hell it's called. Everything there sucks. Stick with the soda fountain for $1.29 --Vincent Chen

Really, Yogi, I haven't given you a Yelp shoutout yet?! I've visited this place for years - hands down, BEST teriyaki in southern california. And I've visited a helluva lot of places. I get the 'large teriyaki plate' with either all chicken, or half chicken, half beef. Screw the veggies (although I'm sure they're good too), GIMME DA MEAT! Their cut of meat is ALWAYS on par - boneless, skinless, free of fat, and juicy as heck. They know exactly how much teriyaki sauce to use - A LOT. And it's delicious. They also offer a huge basket of additional sauce, and unlike other cheapy places, they encourage you, yes ENCOURAGE you, to take as many as you want! HOLLA! The service here is also always great - super friendly, fast, and you can call ahead if you're in a pinch for time. The owner here clearly takes pride in keeping a clean, well kept shop with great service to boot. Any time I'm in the South Bay, I hit this spot for a delicious and semi-healthy dose of teriyaki goodness.

Here's my previous reviiew: Yummy terriyaki bowls- beef is my fave. Usually I'm a bigger chicken fan than beef, but the beef is extra delish. I like extra sauce. I'm sure it's really fattening, but it's damn good. They serve up the food really fast. THEN....my significant other goes to get a terriyaki bowl one day, comes home, digs in and almost chokes to death on what appeared to be a piece of ceiling tile....wtf? IT was a hard piece of white tile like substance. I assume it came from a ceiling and fell in? who knows- but I can assure you it was IN there. I was shocked. He was too pissed to go back and complain, although I wanted to, at least to protect other potential customers from choking- can you imagine if it was a child? Anyway, since I like to live, like my teeth, not in the mood for an emergency tracheotomy, and prefer NOT to eat general contracting materials, I no longer go there.

Before Flame Broiler came to town, this was the place to go for healthy looking teriyaki bowls. The beef is great, the chicken is alright and add steam vegetables to it to make yourself not feel so guilty about eating it. Portions are good, price is is okay and people who work there are very friendly. Costs more than Yoshinoya, but you can say it's less fatty. And you can also get gyoza, salad, yakisoba and other items from the menu too. Parking lot is kinda small, but you will generally find parking...if you don't then just get a cup of coffee from the Starbuck's drive-thru in the same plaza and there should be an open spot by the time you get out...people always are in and out of this small strip mall.

From the outside, Yogi's looks simple/small and people might equate that to low quality. However, I love this place! So far I have only had the Chicken Teriyaki bowl, but it's good and keeps me coming back when i need cheap/good food.

This the best fix for terriyaki that u will find in the south bay. I've been eating here for almost 8 years. Extremely consistent. It's all about there vinegar based pink secret hot sauce. Straw please!

I always get the Chicken Veggie bowl w/Brown Rice. Good quality meat, vegetable are a little soggy ... but otherwise good. A lot better than Yoshinoya or Flame Broiler

The food here is very tasty and a favorite for my 2 kiddos ages 5 and 7. We usually pre-order our food. A little pricey but well worth it. Have been a customer now for 2 years.

Yogi's Teriyaki House. What can be said about this place? When I'm craving something fairly quick and cheap to eat that isn't some greased-up, artery-clogging, sit-in-the-bottom-of-your-stomach, myocardial infarction-inducing fast food, I come here. The place is small and clean, the owner and his workers, are all very polite and personable. The parking lot, however, is kind of tight and the spaces are a bit too small, but that's another problem independent of Yogi's. The food that I've eaten, the beef and chicken teriyaki and the gyoza, are really good. I'm a huge chicken fan, but I've recently grown to want Yogi's beef teriyaki and now frequently order it over the chicken teriyaki or the combo plate. One criticism is that you get much more rice than you do meat, but that's not to say that the ratio's hugely disproportionate... no. I'm usually okay with the amount of meat I get, but on those days I'm starving, I do ask for extra meat, at an extra cost, of course, and I'm good to go. Being a huge gyoza addict, one of my few gluttonous weaknesses aside from cookies, I wasn't expecting much from the gyoza here. After all, the gyoza seemed pretty cheap. I. Was. Wrong! The gyoza's really good. The outside's deep-fried to a perfect golden crispiness. It even retains that crispiness after being dipped or covered in Sriracha. The filling's tasty and juicy. What more could you want from gyoza, right? All in all, Yogi's is a great place to hit up if you're in a hurry or in the mood for good, healthy-ish, and reasonably priced food. The parking is kind of an issue. The small parking lot & tight spaces beg for someone's car door banging into my car, especially with hyperactive, inattentive, ADD, sugar-hyped children running around to go to the neighboring Golden Spoon or Starbuck's. The parking, however, is not Yogi's problem and does not detract from it whatsoever. Worst case scenario, park away from all the idiots. Problem solved. Happy eating, everyone!

I've been going here for years, it's my favorite local teriyaki place, and reasonable priing. Pretty small but never too crowded. I always get the chicken/beef plate, sooo good! Tastes even better with a bit of hot sauce. macoroni salad is so-so. Chill vibe. Tempura here is good too.

this place is more convenient than anything , it right around the corner from me so we go here when we want some quick and easy .the food is good ,i normally get the small chicken bowl white meat only and a side of veggie tempura ,my boyfriend normally gets a small chicken bowl and a shrimp tempura all and all its good. and there is a guy that just stares it is a little creepy !!!!

I got the large chicken and beef bowl and they filled the entire carton of the take out box. The chicken was a bit overcooked and dry, but I did go at the end of the day around 8:30 pm. The beef, on the other hand, was juicy and yummy! I think I'll order all beef next time. Also, they had a small container of red spicy sauce at the register so I took one and I poured it over my teriyaki and I made my own spicy teriyaki so it was extra yummy! The service was very quick; I waited like 3 minutes for them to cook my food.

Very good teriyaki joint if you don't want any atmosphere and don't want to spend much cash, which makes it perfect for a quick lunch or takeout at night. I do mostly takeout for dinner and always have great food. Especially love their all-white meat chicken teriyaki bowl, large size, which gives you a generous amount of chicken with a delicious teriyaki sauce. More sauce is available at the counter in small containers and I load up on that stuff! Their miso soup is decent, too. Tempura is above average, but not the best I've had in a fast good Asian joint. It's sitll worth a try, though. Very nice Korean ownership and the greatest Mexican guys at the grill, too! Overall, a no frills, reasonably priced place for good teriyaki. I'm definitely happy they're in town.

I get my post-workout meal after Powerhouse down the street at Yogi's. Small chicken & beef bowl combo, and a side of gyoza. Super delicious (the gyoza au jous is so scrumptious). It's simple, comes out quick, and it's freshly made.

I have to say Yogi's is my favorite Teriyaki. We've had them all, but just keep it simple man. Get some flame on some decent chicken and beef and give me some sauce that ain't to sweet or thick. This is as close a thing as my wife, 6 year old son and I have to Cheers. We walk in and my boy yells HEY EVERYBODY! and everyone yells back. Simple good food. Great during a weekend on the go. Great after an exhausting, long, suburban day.

Not a must-visit for me, but it's so close and convenient to where we live, it's the perfect place to pick up an order to go when we're starving and want filling food FAST. Good teriyaki and gyoza, with decent tempura even. The portions are very generous for the price, especially around here!

Food's pretty decent here. Beef and short rib bowls got two thumbs up from me. Chicken was okay, kind of blandish. Prices were okay but it definitely pwns Yoshinoya to the ground! GROUND AND POUND!!!

i probably go here at least twice a month. I live right across the street so it is very convenient for me. I absolutely love the chicken bowls! Everything is cooked fresh and the meat isn't fatty. It is a healthy quick place to stop for a fast meal. The teriyaki sauce is really yummy! The only thing that sucks is the parking lot.

A great value and a reliable standby for a quick dinner. The chicken is marinated which is not always a given and lends itself to a more tender texture as well as excellent flavor leaning towards being a bit sweet. However, compared to other so called "teriyaki" versions which consist of a chicken cutlet doused with teriyaki sauce, there's no comparison. The prices are fair and the owners/workers are very friendly.

We live about a block away from Yogi's, and although I grew up in T-town, we spent some time in the O.C. where the Flamebroiler phenomenon really took off... so when Yogi's opened up several years ago, we were happy and anxious to give it a whirl. Tasty, saucey meats w/ sticky-rice and crisp veg? YUM! In particular, when the Torrance Tornado that rolls through Southwood EVERY SINGLE afternoon / evening comes up, we get treated to an amazing whiff of Yogi's... which helps w/ deciding what's for dinner, but not really helpful if we're trying to eat at home :-) To date, we've eaten everything they've got going... and while their beef is good, we prefer the all-white meat bowls. Their Japanese 'soulfood', AKA tempura, rocks our world w/ their addictive dipping sauce and fried-goodness, crispy love... and they're ALWAYS really sweet about not putting any broccoli in my order... NOTHING I hate more than fried broccoli... but that's just me. Another yelper chatted up the gyoza, and we can confirm that stuff's the-bomb-dot-com! So crunchy, but holds up well to sauce... almost reminds me of the Vietnamese version of frying wherein somehow they magically eliminate excess oil and manage to maintain texture... I'm a big-ol' whitey, and I've never had a problem ordering over the phone w/ the fantastically pleasant and always helpful Korean owner answering the phone (his wife is really hot, fyi). We do recommend calling in w/ plenty of time because w/ food this fresh, it's not coming out fast like the crap you get from the evil golden arches! Also, beware their miso soup... SO tasty, but I swear to god that stuff must be about a million degrees! I've burned myself way too many times trying to slurp it down when I was starving and it was nuclear-hot :-) In sum, they're a terrific family place that doesn't get enough love in a town obsessed w/ Rascals (which is good, but this is just as...) run by very friendly and helpful people who obviously enjoy serving a quality product... Hoping they're around for a good long time!

I don't eat a lot of teriyaki, but I stopped by this place on my way home and it made a great dinner. The beef bowl was really good, and the side of tempura was really good as well. I definitely will be coming back next time I'm craving meat and want take-out.

What can I say, it's cheap, fast and tasty. 1. its flame broiled 2. the meats have been marinated before grilling. 3. its better and healthier than going to a fast food joint. it's better than most teri joints I've been too.

Nice and simple. Beef or chicken. Meat and rice (well, mostly, ignoring the salads). Good price for a good simple meal.

Located in a small shopping plaza (next to Golden Spoon and Sbux)- blink and you might miss it! So glad I didn't! I have serious cravings for this place. So far I've tried both the chicken and beef, and both are yummy. You get a good chargrilled flavor from the meat and the teriyaki sauce is very tasty. Prices are good, portions are generous, and the food is consistent. Good for take out too if you are on the go.

Being a Yogi myself sharing major cross streets, I was naturally drawn to this Teriyaki joint! In summary, it is a Korean owned, big portioned, tasty Teriyaki place that isn't amazingly classy or pricey. If you're looking to fill your belly for under 10 bucks, look no further. There are many different styles of Teriyaki that I enjoy. Generally, there are the thicker and thinner meat cuts and Yogi's opts for the thinner cuts. The chicken is diced up nicely and the beef is like traditional Korean Bul Gogi. I like the beef here 2x as much as Rascals... Rascals beef is too chewy and rough... If you go there, say hi to Amos for me. He's one of the Mexican chefs there and he's been there 100% of the time I've gone there, which is a funny on-going joke between us. :D Namaste, Dey

I know I'm no teriyaki expert, but this is my favorite place in town! I love their lunch specials. My boyfriend and I get a large beef bowl and a drink for under $7 and it feeds us both! The guy behind the counter is always super friendly and the teryaki tastes so good! Fresh and hot, just how I like it! They also have extra sauce so I don't have to feel bad asking for more. Overall, I say this place kicks Rascall's overpriced butt!

  • Jason J.

If I had to sum up Yogi's with one word - reasonable. Having eaten here over the past couple of years a good twenty or so times, I think I'm suffering from a bit of marginal utility. (I paid attention in economics) I do like the fact that the combo plate comes with chicken, beef and shrimp. The beef is a notch above the chicken as the chicken is cut up and I'm unsure as to the cut. The teriyaki sauce has a nice taste to it, however I need to have it spiced up so I'm that guy pouring the red sauce (whatever the hell that's called) all over it - I need spice people. Overall, it's not exactly on my wow list but it's functional.

When I want a quick inexpensive meal that is consistant everytime I order it, this is it. Gormet no but for the price you can't complain. Just DON'T call in your order as English is not his first language and it is VERY hard and takes time to place your order. Heck it sometimes takes time when you're in person.

  • Greg F.

Yogi's is not as popular (or as packed) as Rascals, but I actually prefer their teriyaki chicken and beef. They just seem to have more flavor, in my opinion. Or maybe it's the personal touch of the guy grilling the meats right there behind the counter.

    (4)
  • Kathy C.

My coworker loves this place but I just can't get into it. I don't like the thin cut chicken because it is dry. I like the steamed veggies though. I'd rather go to Rascal's.
