Great little family owned bakery. The people remember me and they are very welcoming. The donuts are really good too.

Got some donuts for the coworkers for national donit day.The old fashion is the best donut here. It's crispy on the outside, moist and dense in the inside. Come early for the best choices. Plenty of parking and definitely a lot of memories going here during middle school and high school. The newer owners are also nice. Try them out, they have boba drinks too although I haven't tried it myself. .25 for credit card use. A dozen is $9.

This was my first time here. I ordered an old fashioned and figured I'd get the free check in donut as well. I showed the check in to the employee and she said she said that it wasn't for this shop. Uh...huh? So I double check the name, yup, it's Donut Den. On PCH. She asks another guy who is working. He doesn't know anything about the check in deal either. And repeats what she says: It's not for here. I don't have time for this foolery so I'm 2 seconds from high tailing it out of there when another lady appears, who speaks better English, says yes I can use it, on an original glazed. And this is what I expected in the first place. Not to be looked at like I was an alien trying to cheat the store out of a donut (really...trying to come up on a freakin donut??) The second lady who I figured was the manager said the other lady was new when I asked why she didn't know about the offer. But still....why didn't the other male employee know? The manager was totally nice but the employee who looked at me like I was crazy never apologized and stared me down after the debacle. I'm used to that type of treatment from that ethnicity (I'm black), but it's a horrible feeling and the only thing that kind of made up for it was how nice the manager was. Hopefully it was a probationary period for that employee and she learns how to treat customers (especially 1st time customers!) better. Donuts were ok but nothing to write home about. Probably not coming back.

A friend of mine brought us a dozen of their donuts this weekend. The donuts are delicious, loved the glaze and the bear claws are stuffed with apple filing need I say more. I have to be honest and say I will be driving here from MB because they are just that good.

  • Tiffany L.

Their donuts really are light an not greasy at all! I love those pink ones... can never remember what they're called. I just order "the pink one" and they always know what I mean. What's that? They also sell Lotto tickets? F'n awesome! This place is great before work, and great for a sweet dinner. I love watching peoples faces when they bite into their first Donut Den donut! Mmmmmm deliciousness ecstasy has been found!

Left for work earlier than usual so I could make an out of the way stop here. I just had to buy a few more for my son and hubby to try. I tried the apple fritter and it's absolutely delish. I finished it before I even started on my coffee! I'm ashamed to admit this but this is to attest how great these donuts are...the chocolate one didnt make it to my son, before I knew it, I scarfed that down too. In comparison to the donuts that my office mates bring in, those are very greasy. Please note by 10 am, the apple fritters are long gone. If you're in the Torrance/Redondo area, give this place a try!

They have great donuts and are a very personable team. They treat their customers like family! They always know what we want before we can ask. That exemplifies true customer service! Always service with a smile!

Gotta love Donut Den! Fresh, light, delicious (& pretty) donuts & treats. Awesome ham & cheese croissants. Good coffee. In fact, everything here is yummy (try it all!). Fun & friendly service. Easy parking. Cool people. As a bonus, the owner's are a great family.

If you're tired of the same ol' glutenous donuts that make you feel very fat, full and/or unhealthy, you need to come down to Donut Den! Today, I finally tried it for the first time and damn...it's GREAT! The difference between this donut place and every other local and Winchell's donut places around here is the fact that these donuts are so un-greasy, it's like you're biting into a toasted hawaiian bread dough style donut or something. That's how toasty and smooth these donuts are! They are as fluffy as the inside of a croissant! Seriously, if you've been to Korea or Europe and have tasted the DUNKIN DONUTS in any of those places, that is what I compare Den's Donuts to when it comes to the quality and taste! TIP: Don't be surprised if this place is "closed" all of a sudden, it has weird schedules, but at least it's near Redondo Beach and a Ross!? Trust me, if you want a really great alternative donut to Krispy Kreme, Winchell's and your regular local donut shops, Donut Den is the perfect place to hit up!

  • Miki A.

The best donuts are here if you do NOT like greasy donuts!! All of their donuts are light and good, but the best one for me is their FRENCH CRULLER !! I LOVE french cruller, but only few donuts shops make them... Donut Den's french crullers are really light and so moist inside, perfect... I have had them with Orange icing, Vanilla icing, and maple icing, and all of them were goood!! French Crullers are one of the popular items here, so try to get there in the morning to get them! They close early anyway, so don't think about them for a snack in the afternoon. Just wake up early in the morning, and go for their freshest donuts. It's worth it! I also like their Churro. Even Churro is not heavy, and it's creamy inside. As everyone else said, the service is great here. I didn't even like donuts in the U.S. much before since I do not like greasy food. Donut Den, you are my hero.

This place is oh so good! I don't know how they do it but ALL of their donuts are fresh and light. You could eat 4 or 5 (don't judge me) and not feel sick or gross later in the day. They make a delicious apple fritter and their buttermilk old-fashioned is phenom. However, they make a donut with chocolate frosting inside (not custard which is gag worthy) covered in chocolate on top and then sprinkled with chocolate chips that are the perfect texture (soft and gooey) when you bite into it. It's amazing and I'm in love! I usually swing by here on my way to work at the God forsaken hour of 5:30 in the morn. The entire staff at this place is wide-eyed and bushy tailed and ridiculously pleasant at such an early hour. The great customer service puts me in better spirits. Plus, when my co-workers see me walk through the door with a box of goods from the Donut Den, I'm golden for the rest of the day.

This place is great, but you have to get there early for the best selection. The best donut I've had there is their cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting, absolute heaven! They don't have it all the time, so you just have to be lucky (Donut Den, if you're reading this, please offer this donut more often). Otherwise, my next favorite donut is the Charlie Brown. Their blueberry muffin is also good, as well as their glazed and chocolate twists. Also, be sure to check-in on Yelp to get a free donut!

  • Ashley J.

Best donuts ever and trust me I am a donut kind of girl. Had their glaze and a jelly filled. Love that they are not greasy at all and the donut itself is light a fluffy.

  • Karen T.

All these good reviews? It's really just so so for me ... donuts supposed to be greasy and tasty ... this is like a diet version of the donuts. I'll go for a greasy one, since i'm gonna eat a DONUT.

  • Suzy S.

I had the buttermilk donut. It was very good. This is a traditional donut shop with lots of suger on their donuts. It was a very light donut and not greasy. You could tell it was freshly made.Prices are good. Service is excellent. Very friendly staff. They close early so plan accordingly.

Today was National Donut Day so I had to be a patriot American and celebrate this epic national holiday. Came here early afternoon while my brother was shopping at CVS in the same plaza. This was my first time here, and the glass case was half empty, probably because it was early afternoon. I was happy to see an Apple Fritter, so I got one of those and 3 more. I paid $4 for 4 pretty big donuts. As others have said, the Apple Fritter is not too sweet and it's melt in your mouth good. I got a plain cake one and it's not greasy at all and very light. There was a "college fund" jar next to the register, probably for the young kid working there. I totally support that and I hope he gets to go to college.

Nothing brings me back to my days of prepubescent middle school adolescence than enjoying a delicious Strawberry and cream cheese croissant and a chocolate milk from donut den! Their donuts are absolutely delicious and the people there are awesome. They never hesitate to accidentally drop me an extra donut when I order a dozen...and that extra donut goes a long way...as I have a sworn blood allegiance to everything donut den! They make the BEST jelly donut ever. It's perfect. Not too much donut...not too much jelly.

My dad and I have been going here for years and it's always been our favorite spot for donuts. The owners are super friendly and they give us free stuff all the time (probably because my dad goes every single morning lol) They close mid-day so be sure to go early in the morning or before the early afternoon to make sure you score on delicious donuts!

  • Lynn M.

Love this place, best way to start your day, Donut Den has the best coffee & most delicious donuts. Such a friendly atmosphere. I have met some of the nicest people there. I look so forward to starting my day by grabing some coffee & love the bluberry & buttermilk donuts. But honestly I can say I have always had consistent service from what feel's like a small town family business. Every morning the case is filled with the most beautiful fresh donuts. It just makes me happy to start my day with the Donut Den.

I really love this place. My husband always talked about it as he grew up eating donuts from there, but I would look at the shop like no way is that the best. After reading the Yelp reviews, I finally gave it a try and yes, it is the best. This is coming from someone who loves Dunkin' Donuts when she's on the east. They only take cash and you have to come early or else the good donuts are sold out. My favorite donut is the Charlie Brown, but the original glazed is good too. I haven't had a bad item, but I'm sure they are all going to my hips. Go there, you won't be disappointed.

I actually noticed this place because I was shopping at some nearby shops. I needed to bring donuts to work the next day for a unit breakfast, but I was going to go to a different place. Before going in, I checked out Yelp and noticed it was highly rated, especially by elite members. Service was excellent. By the way, I arrived a few minutes after the posted time, but since all the high school students were there to pick up some donuts, they stayed open a litter overtime. They close at 3pm normally, so don't depend on the high school crowd to save the day if you are running late. The donuts were absolutely delicious, and definitely lived up to the high rating. My co-workers said they were impressed with the taste since they were made very well and had very little grease. Although I don't buy donuts that often, this is definitely my new stop. And the prices are reasonable as well.

Wow!! look at all the glowing reviews!! I think I'll try this place .....what ? it's closed? why? it's the middle of the day? Must be an emergency or something...try tomorrow. Is it open?...closed again?...someone die?? WTF??!!! get some regular hours and you might have a loyal following!! Maybe make some $$$!!!......can't try em if your always closed!

My husband and son love their donuts so much~ The donuts there are all fresh and yummy. We almost go there once a week.

All I have to say is get the Charlie Brown donut. It comes in a bun or twist. You can't miss it because it's a one of a kind donut, a hybrid if you will. It's usually located on the right hand side of the counter. It's pretty much a two tone colored donut, half black, half brown and glazed all over. If I had a picture I'd show you but it's so good, I never wait to take a picture. I instantly devour this and any of their donuts. It's very ironic because I don't consider myself a big fan of donuts.

  • Judy B.

Donut Den has great, light, fresh-tasting donuts. They open early in the morning and close early in the day, so get there before you go to work or school. The service is very friendly, and Ricky and Honda will remember how you like your coffee and your fave donut if you are a regular. I like the old fashioned, the sprinkles and especially the little donut holes, for those times when you only want to be a little bit bad. Always good.

I don't know how they do it, but this shop makes extraordinary croissants. Their ham and cheese are spectacular. I also got great service.

I think I found my new fav local donut place. This place has the best reviews of all the donut places in the area and I would have to agree. Got the last buttermilk bar (guess you should probably get there earlier than 10 minutes before they are closing for better selection) and it was perfect. Sweet crusty goodness. The man working there (probably the owner?) was very nice. And there were samples (the old fashioned, which was yummy too)! I always love samples. Will definitely be back to try the white cake with rainbow sprinkles (they were out already)!

Great donuts, especially the fritters and custards. We all got here about 6 am on the way to our job in the Redondo Beach area on PCH past Hawthorne and Anza. We got a dozen plus the fritters and custards on the side. Hard work makes you hungry and the quality was on a grand scale off the scale. Thanks Donut Den. You made us a happy crew.

My mom and sisters have been coming here for years for the orange donuts. I don't have a sweet tooth, but they're really good. My mom really needed her fix yesterday so I stopped by to get a 1/2 dozen. They were out of orange donuts already but the guy there (owner?) said "no problem, I'm make some for you fresh." Wow! You don't see that kind of service anymore. He really made my day. Nice people making special donuts!

I have been going to Donut Den since living at the Willow Tree as a boy, and the quality and hospitality has never changed. Their donuts are much better than the usual chain or mom-and-pop shops, and offer a wide variety of donuts, croissants, etc. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because I believe they close too early. Can't complain about anything else, great place! Highly recommend.

  • Michael F.

We've tried to hit all the donut shops in the area, and this is the best we've found so far. The buttermilk donuts can be outstanding, but sometimes aren't that great. On the whole, the donuts are interesting, fresh, affordable and tasty. We particularly like the buttermilk (when good), the crumb, and the chocolate-frosted cake.

  • Nnyleg J.

OMG!! Their donuts are the BOMB!!! Very lightweight and non-greasy!!!! It's very different!!! I will definitely be coming back!!! I gotta say it's the best so far!!

  • Brian K.

Being a misplaced yankee, and getting living in Texas for 15 years, I have been through donuts. Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Kreme look out for Donut Den. The donuts are light and fluffy, non-greasy and oh so good. These guys have been around for a long time, perfect location for students of South High on the way to school. With that said, it can get busy with a line out the door, but I have found calling in makes thing move faster. Three things you have to try... 1. Apple Fritters 2. Bear Claws and 3. Ham and Cheese croissants. When I need a dozen or more donuts, let them mix it up for you, they know how to make everyone happy. The staff is great, if you are in a bad moo when you walk in, you won't be in a bad mood coming out. Check out Donut Den, you'll be glad you did! Oh, say Hi to the group outside, they are there everyday.

So I live right around the corner from this place and I had a rare craving for donuts. While the donuts are alright, I find that they don't seem as fresh as other donut places I've frequented. I'm not sure how many days most places keep their donuts (I always assumed 1-2 days) but I think you have to be lucky to get fresh ones here.

  • Bee R.

Excellent service and delicious donuts! What a nice place to spend a weekend morning. The coffee isn't great, but the donuts are killer and live up to the "no greasy" sign. Very friendly family (?) greets you with samples when you come in and there are clearly a lot of followers. Prices are very reasonable, too! A+++!

DEN of DONUTS Who doesn't like DONUTS? I'm gonna go with NO ONE, unless your have the unfortunate gluten or wheat allergy and even then you probably still really like them but just can't have them or shouldn't. Well this SUNDAY morning after spending a second night in the hospital and be surrounded by a army of WONDERFUL nurses and nurse aids who were basically at the mom-n-ators and my beckon call and SUPER UBER HELPFUL I decided to get up and go get some DONUTS for the nursing staff on my mom's floor. It is NOT like I was getting any rest anyway seeing as when you're in the hospital there is someone coming in the room every 2 seconds to do or monitor something for the patient. I rolled over and grabbed my not so smart phone and searched for "DONUTS" on my TRUSTY Yelp app. Several came up and I selected the one that was the closest to my location so I could run there and be back in two shakes of a lamb's tail. That's "QUICKLY" for the rest of you. I popped in my contacts, grabbed my wallet and keys, jumped in the car and headed over to the DONUT DEN. It was ONLY like 1.5 miles away from my location which was PREFECT. The streets were pretty empty so I got there in a FLASH! Parking was SUPER DUPER easy and PLENTIFUL since this place is located in a large strip mall with Ross and a drug store. When I walked in I was greeted right away with a smile and a WARM CHEERY "GOOD MORNING, How can I help you". After my long night at the hospital it was MUSIC to my ears. Seems so simple but that WARM welcome made all the difference at that point. I asked for 2 dozen of assorted donuts. I was asked if I wanted them all in one box or separated and I got them separated. This was perfect because there are two nurses' stations on the floor and I wanted to be able to split up each dozen. I also asked for a few assorted muffins and 9 assorted flavored croissants in case there was someone TRYING to watch there sugar in take or waist-line, plus there might be someone that didn't care for DONUTS! There was also a FREE DONUT with check-in and the KIND lady through in a few DONUT holes as well. SOOOO NICE! I also grabbed a couple OJ's to wash in all down as well. I paid and was out in less than 5 minutes and heading back to the HOSPITAL. I dropped off a dozen of DONUTs and a half DOZEN of muffins and croissants to each desk and headed back to the mom-n-ators room. I was able to get the treats there before the shift change so both the night and morning shifts were able to partake. Sooo MANY "THANK YOU" were received from all the staff both in the morning and also as some returned later that night. The DONUTS holes and FREE donut I got was LIGHT and YUMMY! You could tell they were FRESH! Not OVERLY glazed up which was GREAT! The croissant were also SUPER DUPER LIGHT and FRESH and didn't fall apart in a crumbly mess like they do when they are STALE or HARD. They were also NOT GREASY and DIDN'T weight you down. They also sell several different bottled drinks, ham and cheese croissants, b-fast sands, coffee, and hot chocolate to accompany your DONUT. I would totally go back when I'm in the area for MORE FRESH YUMMY DONUTS!

Great donuts!! Picked up a dozen colorful donuts topped with cereal and marshmallows for the office the other day and they were a hit! My favorite was the Oreo panda donut! The people here are so nice too! I'll be coming back for sure.

[Homer Simpson]mmmmmm donuts[drooooooooolllll] Donut Den, family owned and operated. I had to wake up at 4 in the morning ( 2/2/2015 ) so I can get ready for work at Williams Sonoma which they were doing inventory at 5:30 and so they were having a pot luck. I decided on donuts. I rolled in at 5 am still sleepy and bought a dozen donuts that was freshly made. The lady grabbed a dozen glaze for me and also asked if I wanted some coffee but I declined but also asked if I was going into work and I said yes. I've been coming to Donut Den for a while since my good friend Peter K. and his family used to own this place. I would come here get a donut or a drink or buy a lotto here and shoot the crap with Peter as well as watch the customers come in and buy food. The Non-Greasy and Lightweight carried on to the new owners!!! By the way when a bunch of us break for lunch at 9:30 in the morning, a bunch of the donuts I brought in were gone. As I got off work, there was one left!!! I did good!!! Donut Den still beats the crap out of Krispy Kreme.

Definitely not a service professional place. Went there on Father's Day and got a very rude counter lady who spoke loudly and rushed your orders. Literally said "hurry up" to my wife with 2kids trying to pick there favorites for their dad. I understand there are rush hours ( we were there at 10am) but to talk back and be rude to costumer is just not right for any business. Btw, there donuts and sandwiches are like other yelpers comments, " nothing to write about".

What lured me into this place was their sign that said "light and non-greasy." I mean donuts that are non-greasy? I def had to come here to try it out. After checking out their yelp page, I also saw that a check-in gives you a free donut! Now, I DEF had to come try a donut. What sucked was that they close pretty early during the day (around 3PM during the week). After a second try, I finally was able to make it in on a Sunday before they closed at 1PM. I saw that there were cronuts and since I've never tried cronuts before, I decided to try one. I showed the worker my Yelp coupon, but he said that was only for the normal glazed donuts. Well, I guess I just had to get 2 donuts then! The cronut was pretty good. It was my first ever, so I didn't really know what to expect. However, it was definitely NOT light. The glazed donut, however, was pretty light and non-greasy. Usually you see the oil from the donuts sink onto the bag. However I didn't see any grease or oil at all on the bag of the donut. I would suggest getting the glazed donut if you want something light and non-greasy!

I came here the other day to get a donut treat for my little one and myself. I got an orange cruller. It was definitely light. I needed another, but I resisted. I was looking for some ice cream, but there was none to be found.

Disappointing donuts. The cruelers have fake flavored toppings and the chocolate donut I had a bite of barely had any chocolate.

Yummy donuts! Way better than Dunkin donuts. I had a glazed and a chocolate iced and they were good! They seemed fresh and were just good! I don't know what else I can say lol cute boxes too!

I used to love this place so i went there almost every school day but one day i found some kind of hair inside the donut. I do understand sometimes these things happen when dealing with food. However what bothered me was the response of the owners. After showing them the donut in which the hair was clearly inside, all they said was if i wanted another donut. I expected some kind of apology but i guess these things happen frequently that they were not surprised in any way. After that incident i have not gone there once. Really disappointed in how they handled the situation. By the way, when they offered another donut in return i did not take it since i no longer trust them of handling food that i am going to eat.

just moved to area. I continue on my mission to find that great donut place. I wanted to try this place for awhile. Finally got a chance. Super clean, relatively friendly staff, good parking. Unfortunately they fail where it matters... the selection was very limited, the prices were somewhat high, and most importantly the donut consistency was lacking in substance and flavor. A bit of "back taste" Just not my kinda of place. I'd only go back if i was in a bind and needed a quick fix with no other options....

This place claims their donuts are Non-greasy and also Lightweight! They fulfill that promise all the way!! Every single one of their donuts, even the buttermilk isn't greasy, which is hard to come by everyone! I've had so many of their donuts! the apple fritter, charlie brown, buttermilk, and their glazed donuts are fantastic! Bummer they're only open till 3pm, they could have business till at least 6!

Dudes! This place has awesome donuts for an extremely cheap price. Plus, I guess these are healthy?! Their Boba Smoothies are bomb. This is a place to go for breakfast. Sometimes I go here in the morning before school.

Their sign states "light and non greasy." Well they nailed it. Only thing is, when I am getting DOUGHNUTS, heavy and greasy is exactly what I am looking for. Doughnuts are not my pre-crossfit meal. I don't carboload on doughnuts before a half marathon. They are not meant to be healthy. If I want light and non greasy I'll go get a bowl of poached egg whites. When I am after a doughnut I want a doughnut. Mind you they were very tasty for what they were, a doughnut without all the doughnutty goodness. If that's what you're after check these out. If you want a real Doughnut try granny's in San Pedro on western.

We were looking for a new place to get donuts for our daughter's birthday and saw this on YELP. This place has a great variety of donuts and they are super reasonable. We tried everything from typical donuts to their special cinnamon rolls and we liked all of it. They also have full drink menu with coffees and smoothies. The next time you need a pink box of donuts, you should try this one.

Apple fitter was good. Ham and cheese croissant was not to me. But it all was fresh, and the staff was especially nice. I would go back if in the area.

This morning was my first time to Donut Den. I went there to get some donut holes for my kid's school. I wasn't sure how many to order. I called them up an hour prior, and asked them to put aside some for me. The lady who answered the call suggested me to order a bit more to fill the box, which was a great idea. Sure enough, when I got there at the promised time, the boxes of donut holes were waiting for me. Donut Den was way better than the one that is closer to my house in price and in quality and in service. I will be back.

I love Donut Den! My mom would always take me here when I was in elementary school for breakfast. For family get-togethers, my aunts and uncles would stop by here for a box of doughnuts. I was always excited to see that bright pink box on the counter as a child :') Now in college, this is still my go-to doughnut shop (if I manage to wake up early enough). I always get the chocolate glazed twist doughnut. It's so yummy! Their doughnuts are light, fluffy, non-greasy and fresh--just like what everyone says. I never liked Krispy Kreme because I think their donuts are too sweet and heavy...bleh! Service here is great! Friendly, fast, and super cheap :) It honestly ticks me off when people rate this place low because of what time they close. It's not Donut Den's fault for you coming late! Besides you're supposed to be rating the taste of the doughnuts, not their schedule. But I'm probably just saying that because I basically grew up with this place.

Love this place!!! The staff is always friendly and they have a great selection. I don't eat donuts often, but when I do I enjoy coming to this place. It seems that this area has tons of donut shops , but so far I prefer this one.

Strip mall like store front with a cute sprinkle donut on the shop sign. Typical case full of donuts and I must admit, hands down better than a certain donut of the dunking type! Swift, efficient service...with a smile. Dozens of donut choices including French Crullers, bear claws, cake, raised, glazed and everything in between. Delicious croissants...there's something about fresh made daily croissants that simply taste better than those in the supermarket. Not quite as delicious as France's Laduree, but great for an early morning treat sans the airplane ticket to the city of lights. Coffee smelled good, but we had Peet's brewing at home so we grabbed our dozen (including the famous jalapeño ham and cheese croissant) and headed home. Couldn't wait to try the Crullers...you just can't find a good one if you fine one at all, these were simply heavenly. True to their sign "light-weight and non-greasy", the Cruller was perfectly light and airy and sweetly delicious. Thanks to previous Yelpers for describing this place, this is one to keep on the list. Donut Den, thumbs up!

I've been searching for the best jalapeno, ham, and cheese croissant and apple fritter so next on my list is Donut Den. I came here on a Sunday at 9am and they were almost sold out of everything so I didn't get anything. Being determined, I came here again on a Monday at 8:30, I was able to get the apple fritter and a regular ham and cheese croissant because the ones with jalapenos were sold out!!! Apple fritter was good, this one actually had a few apple pieces. The ham and cheese croissant was a huge disappointment. It was probably the worst one I've ever had. The center was still uncooked and doughy. I thought it was the cheese at first but nope...it was just uncooked dough. The cheese and ham was also all rolled up in the very center of the croissant and not evenly spread. Gave this place two tries and it's a no go for me!

The best doughnuts anywhere, light and not greasy! Staff is amazing! The atm/credit system was not working and I didn't have cash, so the girl said just pay next time!!! Nobody does this anymore! I now go every week and get doughnuts for my staff!

Let me start out by clarifying my 5 star. If I could be an asterik next to it I would. This place is definitely the best donut place I've had in the South Bay and possibly the best in the greater Los Angeles area I've had...beside DK donuts. Now I usually save my 5 stars for the best thing ever, but I don't think that's realistic since the best donut shop ever is doughnut vault in Chicago (yes, i said it...now go look it up). I checked in here on yelp and noticed that I got a free donut that day since it's offered Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It said "Free NTF Donut"...wth did NTF mean? I just want a donut? sounds like a nuclear bomb or something. So I asked and the guy just said it meant "non-trans fat." How nice, I thought. It's rare you see a donut place try to advertise a healthy aspect to a donut, but I do respect the effort. What I really liked about this place too was the people. I always feel awkward showing a yelp deal or some sort of coupon, but they were so welcoming and happily gave me my free donut. They also have free samples so you could try some of their creations...if nothing else, you get a couple free bites of donut and who doesn't love that? Anyways, I went about my day with my maple bar. Let me say that the donut was great. So light, so fluffy, perfectly sweet. My friend got the chocolate glazed and loved it as well. We were both impressed with the donut. I wish I could have gotten more or had room to stomach more that day, but wasn't quite there. You can bet that I'll be back. Actually...what day is it today? Monday! That's right...free donut day. g2g. Bbl

I keep hearing this is the best, and the sign outside says it was voted Best of the South Bay. But they are out of stock every time I go, and the selection is very, very bad. Yesterday at 10:30 AM the selection was so bad I was embarrased for them. The guy behind the counter should have closed shop. Just odd. What, you can't afford the electric bill to fry more dough-freekin-nuts? Once I was there at 9AM on a Sunday, and same thing: No Goods. Don't tell me you are so popular you can't keep stock. Two words: Bake More. Or fry, whatever the case may be.

This is a great mom & pop donut shop. The donuts are not greasy tasting, and they have a wide variety. Just make sure you go earlier in the morning to get the best selection.

Not sure what everyone is raving about because this place is just ok. When I walked in around 11AM the donuts looked like they were on life support and someone needed to call a code blue. I can't believe I cheated on Torrance Bakery for this...

If you want to indulge in a delicious fried piece of dough without the greasy feel, I say come here. This place is good and I've had it about 3-4 times. I personally love an original donut where the dough is slightly crunchy from being fried...but this place is still good!

  • Rachel H.

I have reviewed this place before and have been a devoted donut den lover for a while now, but recently, (6 months or so?) something changed. First they stopped making the baked cinnamon rolls. Booooo. The cinnamon bun donut is not nearly cinnamonny enough for me. Then they stopped being "lightweight, non greasy" all of a sudden. The donuts got smaller and the taste changed. I confirmed my suspicions with the old dudes that hang out in there that (about 6 months ago) the guy who ran it before with his kids, sold it to these new owners. :( now it's your average donut shop. Not a bad donut shop. The donuts are still fresh and the selection is still interesting, but it's missing that special wow that made donut den different from every other place.

So...I haven't actually been to the Donut Den myself but my co-worker would sometimes surprise us with donuts from this place. She always bring boxes of the blueberry donuts in the morning and it is OH SO AMAZINGLY good...It's nice and cake-y and to me, it's not too overly sweet. Every time I am in Torrance and drive by, I am so tempted to stop by but my husband won't let me...cus he knows I'd probably buy two boxes of the blueberry donuts and eat them myself. :)

Loved the donuts. Excellent service. Clean. Can't wait to try the cronuts. The sugar raised was the best I have had!!

  • Stephanie B.

Standard donuts, decent prices. The apple fritter can be a little too thick - you know, too much yeasty donut and not enough crunchy deliciousness. Because the cake donuts are less greasy, they can be on the dry side. With this kind of inconsistency and limited hours, it is not my go-to shop.

  • Sean J.

I still stop by the Donut Den every Tuesdays and Thursdays, same great taste as always! The employees are great and nice people. They always know how to make me come out with a smile.

All I wanted was a couple lottery tickets, cronuts, and some coffee. They don't take ATM/credit cards. So I was S.O.L. Guess thats better for my diet. But, doesn't everyone at least have a squared account by now.

Yelp check-in offer??? A free donut??? And it's delicious??? I came here two days in a row. We needed a fast breakfast for the family and I have a thing for donuts. Heard this place was the best. My dad who is super picky loved them (especially the blueberry). The donut holes barely made it home. I will be back.

Excuse me while I try to wipe off the speck of powdered sugar off of...everywhere on me first :) Donuts shops are a dime a dozen in this town of Southern California and the word spelled in many ways (ugh!). I was sad when Dunkin picked up their machines and fryers and left my neck of the woods taking with them my love of their donuts. Krispy Kreme, despit their best efforts, hasn't been able to lure me into their clutches even with their glazed perfection of automated doughiness ( is that even a word?? Hmm) Donut Den has been around for a while and I've seen it many times on the way to other eateries, but never stopped there because my past experience with mom and pop donut shops were never good. Always oily/heavy and tasting day old, I came away from it feeling I just swallowed a good amout of lard, not oil. (shudders) Located on Pacific Coast Hwy and Anza Avenue in Torrance, I had heard this lair was a great place for doughy goodness that was light with a good selection. I can happily say this place deserve their reputation Great selection with a variety of drinks to wash your donuts down (yes, coffee can be found here). They also do other non-donut items (including a hot dog in a croissant), but I have heard you need to try their fritters. I need to try this one next. I tried a raspberry filled donut, glazed and twist donut. At 8:30 am, these were fresh, soft and very light. Very suprising. The raspberry filled? They are not skimpy on the filling, which was a fear of mine that never materialized here. I ate 3 donuts. I normally never eat more than 2. That's how light these donuts were. As for those previous reviewers who complained that donuts were not good when they arrived at the shop after 10:00 a.m. -come on!! This is a donut shop!! Everyone in the history of bread/donut/bagel makers and buyers know the early bird gets the worm. Or, in this case, the freshest and varied selection of goods. For me?? I'm coming here if I ever decide to skip breakfast at home and no time for a sit down breakfast. The service is quick and friendly and the guys behind the counter will get you out of there asap. For 3 donuts and paying under $ 4 bucks? Hell, yeah, I'm coming back! Tip: These guys close at 1 p.m. so don't complain if they don't have much to chose from if you get there late and the donuts not so fresh. Better to also have cash on hand and ready to pay and on busy days, the line can go out the door.

I was surprised to find out today that they now have Cronuts!!! I tried the plain one and it was yummy! I hope they'll expand their line up to include some with cream in them:)

This place was a great yelp find! Awesome selection of donuts. I saw croissants as well, though no muffins. I was excited to see orange-glazed donuts! The guy was packing up my box and I was like ooohhh one more - is that orange? My fav! Their cinnamon rolls and chocolate cake donuts also seem very popular. Kind people working and quick service! I should pay attention to prices but I am guessing it was around a dollar each item. You can also pay debit and buy a lotto ticket too. LOVE IT!
