Living in this part of stockton for 27 years, we've stripped from all the food possibilities in central stockton, yet alone mankind really. Tucked away on an little island it seemed. But the past few years this shopping area popped up mainly for gas, supermarket and food chains. Then all of a sudden this gem popped up! Trust me, my family and I scoured stockton and our surrounding area for delish, fresh Japanese food and, I don't know how, but we scored! Toyo is one of our top faves and only 5 min away. The best is their Udon!!! Please try it in that stone pot. The udon was so tender and picks up flavor than anywhere else, and their broth was thought out, not just a Pinterest board/supermarket recipe. No way. But my ultimate favorite, this is a secret I'm sharing w you, is their JAPANESE TACO!!! Flavorful ceviche scooped up by a crispy chip topped with dehydrated carrot peels that taste like sweet potato. This was a dish they had in their first menu but is now on the "specials" board that people look over.

My boyfriend was raised in Stockton. Specifically this part of Stockton so no, he doesn't fit that hood stereotype . Toyo sushi sits in a newer shopping center which also houses Raleys and a Panda Express. When I saw that a sushi spot had opened up in this plaza, I was pretty excited. Excited up until we got our food. We ordered two rolls and the fried calamari appetizer. To be honest, their menu is pretty small with very little to choose from. I was pretty unimpressed . The service was pretty slow, the food was mediocre, and I'm surprised the place is still in business. I don't think we would ever come back considering Stockton has great sushi restaurants like Raw and Kyodai.

I'm surprised that this restaurant has so many stars. I am gonna assume it's for one of two reasons. 1) people in this neighborhood are excited to have a Japanese restaurant by them. 2) People have never had extremely fresh sushi. I love Japanese food and if you read my other reviews you may notice that. I was not thrilled here. It's not horrible. In no way is this a horrible review. It's just not going to be on my top list. We have a lot of Japanese restaurant la in Stockton, and Lodi and lathrop are close enough to where if would even add them into the competition. We have waaaay better Japanese restaurant than this so unfortunately they need to step up their game. Cons 1) a lot of their sushi rolls are super similar. 2) not the freshest sushi I have ever had. 3) over priced. (I would gladly pay their prices if I felt it was worth it but I did not. 4) the location inside the strip mall is horrible. Your view is staring into the Starbucks 10 steps away. Pros 1) nice staff 2) they list their rolls in order of price from lowest to highest. (I know it's a dumb pro but I appreciated it.) 3) small and wasn't busy but had a good turn out of customers. I always appreciate not having to wait an hour to eat.

Great food really friendly staff. A few aesthetic challenges but overall a great place. I will be back.

So all of the wonderful things I had to say about Toyo are unchanged: I just have MORE nice things to say! Again, I think they have the best quality and most fresh sashimi of all the Lodi/Stockton sushi restaurants (and yes, I try them all!). "JJ", the owner, has added an in-house cured mackerel to the sashimi menu, and IT IS AWESOME!! (Disclaimer: I judge sushi restaurants based on their sashimi [raw fish]. If the sashimi is good, then their rolls should be too. And the rolls are great! Try the crunchy rainbow and the Toyo special. We try to make it here at least once a week, not only because it's so good, but because they are such nice people. OH, and we drag along our 11 month old baby, who is actually welcomed with open arms by the owners/sushi chefs/staff.

I've been here multiple times now, and my opinion has only improved. The greatest thing about this place is the hospitality. The staff is incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. During one visit, they offered to refill my son's sippy cup with water, and when my son threw his pacifier on the ground, they gave us a small bowl of hot water to sterilize it without us even asking for it. During another visit, I was giving my son the tofu from my miso and the owner offered us a plate of tofu instead. They're so thoughtful! This is how restaurant service should be everywhere! The food is consistently delicious. The miso is the best miso I've ever had, and so is the gyoza. Ton katsu is always cooked perfectly and the katsu sauce always differs in taste slightly, which is great because it must mean they make it from scratch every day and I love that! This place has definitely become my favorite place to eat!

Friendly and attentive Customer Service Clean inside Food is delicious Prices are reasonable The Green Dragon here is hands down the best roll I have ever had!!! Funny little customer service story to go along with that btw.... First time ever eating here and we drove 10 min out of the way to try it. My Green Dragon Roll is the last to be served and I reach over it to snag another piece of Rainbow roll off my son's plate. As I bring by arm back, I see that there is a hair in my roll. I pull it out thinking that it's probably mine and had just fallen immediately, but can't be sure because there is a female behind the counter with similar hair color and length. The host/owner/server sees this and stops to ask me if I want him to make me another one. I told him it was fine and after diving in, realize it's the best roll I've ever had. He comes back later and insists he bring me another one as it is bothering him. The second one was just as good :)
(5)Monica H.
Love this place. Good food and friendly service. Always feel welcomed. Love the Poki salad.
(5)Dawn M.
Great sushi and very friendly people working here. They run a after school special from 3-5. Including Soda for only 1.00. Everything is very fresh. Great place to come to they make you feel very welcome.
(5)Ricardo P.
Place is amazing. Such friendly customer service. You're greeted and seated as soon as you walk in the door. The food is just delicious specially the lion roll and also the J J special if you like spicy :) my go to sushi in Stockton
(5)Kim C.
Most sushi places are closed on Sundays which is how we ended up here & we are glad we trusted yelp on this hot new pick. The staff were attentive & even struck up a few conversations with us. (Mind you we showed up around their opening time so that opened a window for them as the place was currently slow.) The menu does not display any pictures so everything we ordered was recommended to us & there was no disappointment! The fish were all fresh & the display was definitely on the fancy side. We will definitely come here again & tell our local family & friends about our new find. We also took pictures of everything ordered. Because we are visual people & thought it will help many of you yelpers to decide what to order! - Fresh Oysters - Tequila ---- (something roll) - Special Toyo - Salmon Head (forgot the name of it) - Deep fried California Roll with all their special sauce Yum.
(5)Kayzar B.
The sushi rolls were really.... SMALL. But the customer service was excellent. I just wish the sushi was a little bigger than what they serve. Especially, if they have the same price as Misaki or Shomi.
(3)T B.
Seriously can't say enough good things. Hidden in between a subway and a panda, this place belongs in a much different environment. The food.....well let's just say you'd be hard pressed to find better sushi in any city, let alone stockton. The service was incredible, the owner is incredibly friendly and he was so attentive. The restaurant is clean and spacious. The sushi is made immediately after you order it, but I can not believe how fast the chef works. Don't even waste your time looking around for good sushi anywhere else, I am a lifelong customer and can not wait to go back.
(5)Lanah B.
I love it here!!.. It's our 4th time here and counting .. Friendly service and great food!!.. Deff would recommend it to my friends n family ..
(5)Nathalie Y.
Arrived at this restaurant around 1:45pm and, surprisingly, there were only 2 full table and one business person eating at the bar. To be honest, I prefer restaurants with a casual and non-hectic ambiance just so that I can enjoy my meal without any annoyance, so the fact that this restaurant was partially empty did not disturb me. Since I was in a rush I only had the opportunity to order from the to-go menu (but, next time I will definitely dine in). While I was deciding what to order by the front door the waiter offered me a seat and even a glass of water, so I thought that was extremely considerate of this restaurants employees. The menu is also vast, but once again the employees are willing to offer any assistance, so in the end I decided on two rolls: Millennium Roll ($9) and Lion Roll ($12). The Millennium Roll has about 5-6 slices, but they are HUGE and packed with deep fried shrimp and cucumber on the inside and topped with avocado, eel, and tobiko; while the Lion Roll is your average salmon, avocado, eel, deep fried shrimp, etc. and also comes in 6-7 huge slices. Also, they provide a large amount of wasabi, pickled ginger, and soy sauce, so I was even more satisfied with my order. What I do love about the menu is that it has more of a variety compared to most sushi restaurants that I've been to. Usually, I see the Lion Roll on EVERY menu in most restaurants, however, this is my first time paying $12 for it. Most restaurants that I've tried that carried the same roll only cost about $8, so I was a bit skeptical about the difference that I was paying for the Lion Roll; but, it was my first time experiencing a Millennium Roll, so I was glad to try a roll that I don't occasionally order. Overall, I think I'm going to be a frequent customer to this restaurant, but I just hope that they will adjust the prices in the future and put a huge billboard sign to indicate their exact location (they are on the corner, just behind Subway and across from Starbucks).
(4)Mama V.
Two words. Mexican roll! Ok...and salmon toro and Hawaii roll... Today is the second time in six days... SOOO DEEELISH. And...now...drum roll... happy hour menu 3-5pm, what???? And after school special??? What what? I may be back tomorrow...
(5)Tommy B.
Sushi along with all entrees and appetizers are well thought out, fresh, and tasty. JJ and,his team are cool and look to make your dining experience top notch. While RAW and CoCoRo are larger and fancier, I will challenge any and all to give TOYO serious consideration. When one factors in pricing and service TOYO is unmatched in all of SJ county. I eat in Japantown at Minato' in San Jose often so this is high praise!
(5)Laura G.
FRESH FRESH FRESH SUSHI! my new go to sushi spot in stockton. I ordered an incredible roll and toyo roll. The fish was very fresh, the ingredients were too. The incredible roll was delicious and my favorite. The service was wonderful. I highly recommend this spot before it gets too busy!
(5)Cheryl M.
Friendly staff. All fish was fresh and tasty. It was a little on the expensive side for the quality and quantity of food.
(3)Gabriel J.
Great food and amazing service very friendly people working here! I have been here a half dozen times. Will definitely keep coming back.
(5)Harmandeep S.
Not only the freshest sushi in town but the best service as well. My husband and I just moved here from the Bay Area and this is one place where you really feel at home. I cannot say enough good things about the owner and the service provided. Def try all of the specials as well, they are all delicious! This is definitely one place I'll miss when we move back!
(5)Emma G.
We were in Stockton for a quick lunch and looked to Yelp for help and found Toyo Sushi. We were not disappointed. Service was on point and staff was very friendly. I had the salmon bento box with California and husband had the Boston Roll and I can't remember his second dish (pics attached) He enjoyed both but said he could have done without the Boston Roll, although it was nice and fresh but his other dish was very filling. Plus is the very clean restroom.
(4)Nathalie C.
Me and my boyfriend are regulars here and we LOVE Toyo sushi the service/food is always great! The best in Stockton!
(5)Sally H.
I ordered a Lion Roll, a Green Dragon Roll, and a Crazy Monkey roll. Reading from the reviews, I was expecting my rolls to be small. But for $35 worth of sushi, I was shocked to see the pieces are minuscule! Flavor and presentation is there, but who cares when you're still leaving hungry.
(3)Jun C.
Customer service is really good here. Order came in pretty quick. Sushi is good quality.
(5)Sue C.
We have visited this restaurant numerous times and have never been disappointed. The service is outstanding and the food is um um um! My husband and I love the Beast roll, but we have tried several other dishes that are wonderful too. We have a treasure of a restaurant in our neighborhood.
(5)Jessie V.
1st time patrons. Took a minute to find it. It's in a spot between Starbucks and subway. Place was nice and clean n we were greeted right away and sat promptly (party of 5). The house wine is Michael David (7 deadlyzins) always a pleasant plus. We started off with seaweed salad and vegetable tempura. Vegetables were fresh and yummy. Rolls showed up in perfect time with the ending of our starters/salads. Excellent rolls. Crazy Monkey, spicy scallop, incredible, swan lake, red dragon, golden crunch & crunch dragon. I should also add that I'm allergic to (red) shelled fish and like all sushi places most rolls have shrimp. SO! I had to substitute with scallops. Our server never skipped a beat and was so nice and diligent about making sure all substitutes were made correctly ( unlike some places who gave me a hard time about my allergies) Our gentleman server who must have been the owner knew it was our first time. So obviously he's very in tune with his patrons. He offered us mocchi as his treat for our first time there. Great service from beginning to end.
(4)Ashley S.
Best sushi in Stockton!!!! Reasonable prices and everyone that works there is so friendly!
(5)Tiger F.
Finally...killer sushi in Stockton! Awesome service, nice atmosphere good for families or that special date. Food is so good, reminds me of sushi in Japan. We be calling Toyo home from now on.
(5)Mikayla M.
Pretty darn good sushi, at your basic sushi prices, in a nice little nook in this shopping center. I came here with an old high school friend (Maria C., who also reviewed Toyo) and we both got miso soup and a roll. I was very happy to see they have my all-time favorite roll-- the Red Dragon :) The roll tasted good, though I feel like maybe one of two of the sauces they used were different than how they prepare it at Matsuyama. It didn't bother me, just something I noticed.
(4)Sandy V.
Went here for my sushi fixed. This place is pretty new. My first time here, the service was great and very attentive. Never have empty glass of water, they service stay on top and always check if we need something. The sushi was great. We order hawaiin roll and big dragon rolls. The prices are reasonable and portion is just right. So glad that stockton open more sushi resturant. They also gave us their new menu sample, it was some kinda season korean salad, it was pretty good. I hope they put it on menu. I'm very satisfied and great place to dine in.
(5)Sothary C.
Right of the 99 Freeway to please the sushi lovers. This place is fairly new and seems to be doing pretty well. I was really curious to see how they would do considering the location. The staff is really friendly and I enjoyed the small talk. The bad boy roll is really good. I've had a few of their basic rolls as well and they were pretty good. The place has kind of an odd seating arrangement but that is just me, besides that I enjoyed their food.
(4)John T.
Had some time to kill before my next appointment in Morada when I decided to give this place a try. Very clean, and very nice people. I sat at the sushi bar and struck up a conversation with the Sushi Chef. Must say, he was very friendly to talk to and made my lunch better than expected. I believe his name was Mark, and just a very friendly person. I will definitely by back! The lunch was really good to top it off. See you soon!
(5)Maria C.
Service was phenomenal! Never had an empty glass and they always knew when to check in with us. Their food was really good as well, but for what you pay, I felt like I should have had more roll- Tempura Roll only came with 6 sections! And do try the Lion King roll! It's not on the menu right now! Super good!
(4)Cami C.
My boyfriend and I decided to try the place since it was close to morada and there's not a lot of good places around. We were surprised with how big the place was. We like their rolls and the teriyaki chicken. The first time we came the service was so so, it felt like the guy would drop off the stuff and leave. But then again it seemed like he was the only one working. The second time was more pleasant with everyone making sure everything was ok The Food is comparable to any good Japanese restaurant in stockton and so I would recommend it. The only reason I did 4 stars was because it was kinda hard to find and I think they need another sign.
(4)S K.
My favorite sushi restaurant in Stockton! After discovering this place, my fiance and I refuse to go anywhere else. We always get the sashimi deluxe and it is definitely the freshest you can find in town! Our favorite rolls are Camellia, Bad Boy, and Crunchy Dragon. But what keeps us coming back is the sashimi. Always leave here satisfied and the owner and chefs are super nice!
(5)mallory d.
Good sushi!! The people are awesome too..Only downside is it's a little pricey for the amount that you get.
(4)Kim P.
Came to this spot on a whim with a group of 8 when we couldn't decide what to feed our faces, and this may have possibly been the best experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Customer service was on point and the food was good. I'm normally indifferent about chicken teriyaki, but it was really good here and actually commented on the deliciousness of it (rarity). The sushi rolls were good and the presentation was fantastic. I loved our waiter whom was super sweet and attentive. Space isn't too spacious but they were able to accommodate us with no problem. My mom lives close by so I'll definitely be returning soon!
(5)K S.
Attentive service. Great food. Clean place. That's all it matters. :) Ps. I would tweek the spicy mayo, just a tab bit, to make the rolls' flavors come out more. Miso soup is definitely much much better than that watery one served at Kyodai. Bonsai Roll is a must have. :)
(4)Joey D.
Great food and great customer service my favorite sushi spot in stockton since it opened
(5)Nikita K.
This place is a little bit hard to find! It is a little bit behind the Starbucks, but if you make it, then you will be in for a pleasant surprise. The service here I have to say was excellent. Maybe that is because it is a new place and they are trying hard, but I do not think I have met such friendly and courteous waiters before. We really liked the Swan Lake roll and Dark Knight. We got a couple other rolls, which were not bad, but nothing too special. Overall, a good sushi spot in STK.
(4)Arnold L.
Although its a good 15 minute drive from my house, I am a repeat customer here and will continue coming. I have done dine in as well as take out. I was here the other day and put in an order to go. The staff greeted me immediately and was friendly as always; they even offered me hot tea while I waited and then didn't charge me for it although I had multiple refills. The customer service here is fantastic. The rolls are delicious. I love their green dragon roll and you will absolutely love anything they make with honey in it. The prices are also very reasonable. I eat sushi a lot and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
(5)Simon C.
Service is great and fast. Staffs are very welcoming and smiling all the time. Most importantly, food was bomb. I ordered crazy monkey roll, and a three item bento with salmon terriyaki, beef terriyaki and TonKatsu. Portions were big for that bento box and they were all tasty. Also miso soup on point. Definitely coming back here again
(5)Katherine H.
Saw the grand opening sign & came in to try. We had a sushi roll (Red Dragon) it was good. The ingredients weren't equally spread throughout the sushi. Most of it was in the middle and the ends slim to none. We also had chicken katsu & chicken teriyaki bento boxes. That was ok too. The manager or owner hovered over us too much & interrupted our dinner too often. Perhaps he was just excited. On the plus side we never ran out of water. Prices are decent, food ok, and it's the only sushi/Japanese food on this side of town. I think I'll wait a couple months before I come back.
(3)Tiffany L.
First time trying this restaurant out. Customer service is excellent! They are very attentive and quick. The place is very clean, and simple. Food came out fast. We ordered the Crunch Dragon with cream cheese, Spider Roll, and the crazy monkey roll. All were OK. They weren't the best, but definitely wasn't the worst either. They lack flavor, not sure if it's due to the amount of rice they add in the sushi, but it didn't have a powerful taste to them compared to other sushi restaurants. They were a bit bland.
(4)H T.
My sis and I went here last week and I guess it was ok. My sis didn't like the rice much. It was sort of dried to her. She ordered the sushi that had varieties of fish on top...sort of like a rainbow roll. The sad thing about the roll was that it was just a california roll with fish on top. The worst part of it was they only had salmon put on the roll...what about tuna? Yellow tail? It was all right tasting, I guess. Nothing special. I ordered the Black Night and California roll. The rolls were pretty darn SMALL...we had it made to-go because we were in a hurry. I guess they try to make two the rolls fit into one tiny plastic box...erm. My Black Night had a fish bone inside...yikes. It tasted ok. The rice was weird tasting, but the fish was tasty. The California roll was..decent...well, it had no flavor... Overall, I dont think Ill be coming back anytime soon. The guy who took our order was nice though.
(3)Tami T.
Bad service from the lady waitress. I ask for jalopenos and they charged $1. I didn't mind paying for it but at lease give me more!
(1)Joievee B.
Great service & food! Came here on Sunday at 7pm, got seated immediately. Service was quick & our waitress was very friendly. We ordered the Reno roll, tequila sunrise, & crazy monkey. Loved all of them! Especially the last two. If you like onions, I'd strongly suggest the tequila sunrise & if you like your sushi a little bit sweeter with sauces, get the crazy monkey roll. Will be back here again!
(5)Joelle Joie O.
Food was great! But I couldn't help but notice the similarities in their menu to another sushi restaurant here in town...LoL! Not sure if it's the same owner with a different restaurant name but the menu was all too similar. But nonetheless...pretty good! I would go back.
(3)Natalie R.
So glad that Stockton got a new sushi place that has great sushi and service at great prices. All of the sushi rolls that I have tried were really good. (We came with a big party so we tried at least 8 of their rolls) They have very simple rolls and also special rolls that have more sauces and fried components. Both are really good. Their miso soup is extremely flavorful, some of the best I have ever tried. One of the most outstanding parts of having a meal here is the service. The guy(i'm assuming owner or manager) is really nice and enthusiastic. We had a table of 10 and he didn't charge us extra or mind splitting the bill. I really recommend Toyo Sushi!
(5)Jaymar F.
This place is pretty awesome! Been here three times so far and have very satisfied everytime! Servers are very kind and willing to make recommendations on new things to try, food is delicious with plenty of things to choose from, and over all vibe and atmosphere is very pleasant. I tried the crunchy scallop roll and the incredible roll, both of which I highly recommend! And since it's just around the corner from my house I think I'll be back here regularly! =D
(5)Chewwa V.
Service was good, the servers were really nice and attentive. Lots of food to choose from. We got some sake and beer, pretty decent price. I didn't eat any sushi when I went, I had some miso soup and just drank while my friends were eating. The soup is basic, wasn't too salty so that's a good thing.
(4)Michael R.
Good food. Good service. New place, so they're still working out some kinks, but I have high hopes for them. My daughter pronounced the chicken teriyaki yummy and we will be back. I particularly enjoyed the spicy scallop roll.
(5)Wilfred John D.
Great service and great food.. Came in a little bit before closing but yet they were still very accommodating!! Very nice environment!
(5)Keana M.
Everytime I come here I have excellent food and excellent service! Keep up the good work!
(5)Chelsea T.
Great customer service! They are clean and the service was fast and prompt. We ordered a couple of rolls and appetizers. Everything was fresh and delish. So happy that I live only a couple minutes from here which means I can walk and have all the sakes! Lol Stockton really need a new sushi spot and this could be my new fav spot now. They have a lot of different special rolls. Must try!
(5)Dana K.
There are not many restaurants in Morada so we looking forward to trying this. We are so glad we did, we are now regulars. The staff is so friendly, they are genuinely pleasant. The food is delicious and it is a great little local place. Hope they are here for many years to come!
(5)Beverly M.
Another visit did not disappoint..customer service is great! Shared dinner of deluxe sashimi was fresh and pleasing to the eye, served with salad, rice and the miso soup-very good. This visit included the Camellia roll, a nice combination of spicy tuna, crunchy shrimp and white tuna with all the the stuff that makes things interesting. JJ brought us a tasting of seaweed salad and that tasty frozen mango delight (thank you!) Great conversation with Mark, the man with magic knife skills:) See you next week!
(5)Aman K.
The customer service is great! If you want your food made in a certain way, they will do it happily! Definitely recommend the Crunch Dragon and Lion Roll. And try the dumplings!
(4)Alexis G.
The customer service is good and so is the sushi. But they are bit overpriced for the size of the rolls.. This is my 2nd time here it's close to my work so when I get a hankering for sushi I'll go back but it's not gonna be my new go to sushi spot.
(3)Jon S.
My first time going and with my family. The service was good we were greeted coming in and seated immediately. I ordered the Lion roll, Volcano roll, both were fresh and delicious. My wife ordered the Tempura roll, Volcano roll and she enjoy every bite. My son ordered the Green Dragon roll, enjoyed it and filled him up. My oldest daughter ordered two of the Tempura rolls and clearly enjoyed. My youngest daughters ordered the Teriyaki chicken Bento combination and ate every bit. Overall a good dinner and experience. The price for the entire dinner was fair. There are a few call outs. It would be nice if when the food is ready i would like it all come out the same time versus a staggered pace. Also getting a refill of ice water included a splash of lemonade that didnt go well for the taste buds. I will be returning to this location and trying other rolls.
(5)Murali M.
Out of all the sushi restaurants in Stockton (shogun, cocoro, matsuyama, etc...) this place has the freshest sushi along with great service every time I go here. It's a bit far from my place but it's worth the drive and aside from being very friendly and inviting the pricing is average. This combination has created the best sushi experience I have had in Stockton!
(5)Chris H.
This is my second time coming here to enjoy some sushi my first was right around the time it opened about 2 weeks after it had its grand opening. My fiancé and I had a great time we were seated very quickly and had gotten help right after we sat down. We sat at the bar so we could see how the sushi was made and the sushi cook was very nice and easy to talk with. As we ordered we had a great convo with the cook he was a very nice guy. So about 15 to 20 mins later we had gotten our sushi rolls, one dragon roll, a Crunch gold roll, and the incredible roll. All the sushi was really great and was presented very nicely. As we were finishing our food we got offered a deep fried ice cream dish for free on the house and that was a great ending to some amazing sushi. I must say this is a great place and would love to come back again. Oh and FYI the crowds can pick up and I would try to call ahead or arrive at a good time to beat the dinner crowd.
(4)George G.
Very neat, clean and fresh Sushi. Attentive and polite staff. This will be my go to place for sushi from now on!! Ordered 4 rolls, all of the plates were cleaned dry by the end of it all. A lot of foot traffic through here, and a lot of take out orders coming through here, which says a lot. Unexpected surprise!! Will definitely be back and will definitely recommend to others.
(5)John M.
Really good rolls, with fresh fish. Excellent service! All employees are engaged with making sure you are satisfied. We are definitely coming back!
(5)Allen S.
Super disappointed in this place. I called in and they told me that they had an all you can eat menu so when I went to dine in and found out that they didn't have an all you can eat menu. Got my hopes up for no reason. Not only that but the people in there don't understand me. Maybe because there's a language barrier but it was hard to communicate for most of my stay.
(1)Lorth K.
This place did not close after lunch to get ready for dinner. I like that already! I came in early afternoon and it was empty. That just means faster service for me. We were seated promptly at a booth near the bar. Very comfortable seating. Our server was gracious and nice. Since it was our first time here, we asked for a recommendation on which rolls to order. We ordered the Volcano Roll, Red Dragon Roll, and Scallop roll. I was a little disappointed about the Volcano Roll. It said spicy but was not spicy at all. The only other volcano roll that I have tried was at Hana and theirs was spicy. Like they gave us a warning before ordering spicy. While satisfying , it just wasn't what I was expecting in terms of spiciness. The Red Dragon and scallop rolls were good. You could really taste the difference in the ingredients. The crunchy flakes was a splendid touch. Since we weren't done, we decided to get another roll and asked for a recommendation again. The manager or owner suggested a new roll called The Beast Roll that they just created the day before we came so not on the menu. Now that was delectable. It was a large roll and built tough. It tasted like mom's beef stir fry and the perfect amount of zing to it.

First time there..the staff is awesome!..we were greeted with a warm welcome. I ordered the lion roll, and was very good!. Their prices are reasonable and portions just right..the service was spot on as well..very attentive and courteous..on the way out they all said thank you.. We felt very at home and comfortable there. I would recommend trying this place out, a refresh from the other ones around town, with the modern decor to justify their cost. the only kicker is the parking ,pretty tight and limited.

My boyfriend and I are very picky when it comes to sushi, but we decided to give this place a try. Thank goodness we did! We are now regulars there. The staff is very friendly and the chefs work quickly to keep you satisfied. The rolls are all very tasty and made to perfection. I love the big selection of special rolls, but I do wish they had more eentre selections. Just, this place is great is you are looking for quality sushi/Japanese food without breaking your budget.

I usually don't write reviews but my oh my! This place is amazing. Probably one of the best sushi places ive eaten at! They have plenty of roll to choose from. Hands down the best sushi i've eaten. All the rolls have different flavors (not like other sushi places where their rolls all taste the same!) The raw fish is fresh. Customers service is amazing. They are very nice.

I love sushi, and I've probably been to every sushi place in the valley so I had to try this place. This place is very cute and clean and the customer service was great. My sashimi was yummy and fresh. My boyfriend loves the crunchy dragon roll and I enjoy the pine roll. I'm a little sad because they don't have the usual rolls each sushi place have, everything is their own creation which I suppose is kind of cool. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the soft shell crab. I would suggest this place, good sushi, good service.

I was just passing through along 99 when my hubby stopped for starbucks. ..so I went in here to look and ended up ordering the deluxe sushi plate to go. Delicious, fresh, came with soup and salad! service was great, very friendly, they even gave me edamame, while I waited.

Came here on a Sunday with my boyfriend for lunch. Very nice customer service, but in my opinion it was pretty pricey. I ordered one roll on the side along with our sashimi and Hoki poki and the roll was just full of rice. =[

Had three different types of dragon sushi rolls and only one was borderline decent. But the special rolls were overpriced and one roll in particular was bland. If you want to eat here, just go to matsuyama in stockton. Its basically the same menu. However, matsuyama has better service, better food, better portions. Never coming back here.

Took my mom for lunch today. Very good food, reasonably priced, good portions. Delicious teriyaki chicken. Loved the potato patties and tempura. Great find!

Everything we ordered here was fresh, I can't stress that enough. The staff were very welcoming and offers the best of service. Unlike the waiters that leave you hanging for a glass of water for 30 minutes, they make sure you don't go thirsty. Will definitely have to try this place again and order what they recommend next time.

My boyfriend and I both agreed the sushi is amazing here. We tried this place for dinner on New Years Eve and were not disappointed. Service here was attentive. The Pine Roll and Incredible Roll were delicious. We will be returning soon.
