The worst tasting Mexican food in the Santa Clarita Valley. The management has been known to take advantage of their employees. They provide them with no training and do not follow food safety practices. Not allowing them breaks and firing them for no reason. I would not spend a penny here. The owner needs to hire new management. In America slave labor was outlawed years ago.

My brother & sis-in-law brought us here last night. On our way my husband looked up the reviews on Yelp. Needless to say i was scared after glancing at the reviews, but we were committed so what the heck! My top shelf margarita arrives and it is soooo good! Then my food arrives - it is better than average -it's also good. And so was the service. In fact the servers - we had like 4 people coming to check on us, bring us drinks and food - were amazing and so attentive to our little party of 6. I really don't know where these reviews came from, but as for me and my family, we will definitely go back. Oh, and don't forget to try the Patron Mango Margarita - yummy!

Unfortunately the food has declined dramatically, it was never traditional mexican food, but sometimes I can't make it to LA for real authentic latin fare. But the deciding factor in my decision to never return, my friend and I got physically Sick minutes after eating....prices increased, quality not good. But $30.00 to get sick? No way. But you can always come for desert! I think that's safe. I'm in bed writing this with stomach pains, I don't want anyone else to experience this.

Have been going here for happy hours for years. Great drinks and fabulous happy hour food. Most of the people who work here are great. Sadly, a lot of turn around with the bar tenders and servers. Last week I was in with some friends and the bar tender gave us a bill. We paid it. Then we were given another bill. We questioned the second bill that was $53 more dollars as only two beers were ordered. I spoke with the manager to ask for the itemized receipt to see if we're were charged for some items accidentally. He showed one receipt but not the previous receipt for $75. We paid the second bill after our friend left because the manager swears we only had the $53. No other charge. They did only charge the card once. But maybe the bartender needs to be a little more organized. Bottom line "customer is always right does not apply here." Today I went over to meet a friend. I didn't really want to go over there after last week. The manager meets me at the door. Nervously rambles off on me about the last visit. (I come by at least twice a month with clients or colleagues and never had a problem) He asks me not to come back to the restaurant. I am always the designated driver. I am NOT a drunk. I was NOT rude to any member of their staff. And I am asked not to come there anymore because they over charged the group of people I was with. Whatever. That's fine.

This sad excuse of an establishment is an absolute joke. The food is horribly over priced, poorly prepared and the management is the saddest part of all. Servers have no idea what they are doing, managers stand and talk to workers--not even paying attention to customers. Adding on to the mess of a pariah they dare call a "business", health inspectors come in and find problems with the kitchen on a regular basis. The funny thing is, not only is the kitchen a complete mess, the food quality itself is awful. Deep fried, frozen meats and poorly handled vegetables and fruits are all this restaurant has to offer. My advice? Stay far, far away from this disgusting excuse for an establishment.

I do really want my loyal customer to know that we are here as always to give the best from us with great and good quality of food and best service and those heater's really feel so sorry to givas this bad reviews but we are and still one of the best Mexican restaurant in SCV

This by far is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants growing up. I have tried a bunch of stuff off the menu from seafood to meats, all cooked well and food is always hot when it comes out. There deserts are good as well, deep fried ice cream is my favorite.

When this place first opened, it was awful...but a few years later, when we went back again, it had improved dramatically, so we became regulars. Lately, they are giving us the same service and quality as they had at first, which sucks. The food is worse than microwave burritos, and the service is bad if you don't get one of their only two good servers. *sigh* Time to find a new spot. La Cocina is ok, but it's always too crowded.

Am I invisible? I'm only 6'-1" and 225 pounds. The two Hostesses at the front just ignored me: they were too busy in a deep, deep discussion. I walked through the restuarant to the buffet site. I was ignored by the bartender. I lifted lids and peeked inside to see what the food was like. It looked o.k.. I looked around: I was being watched by a waitress. i was ignored by the waitress. She walked into the kitchen. I walked to the front of the restuarant, the two Hostesses were still in their deep, deep ddiscussion. I tried to catch their eye. I was ignored. I walked out. Never did get a chance to smaple their faire.

The servers are very friendly and the service is very good. The food, however, has so flavor. None their salsa is very flavorful, though. Really good. But the food isn't worth the price you pay without any flavor. Too bad, because it all looked great when served.

DO NOT COME HERE. Unless you want a big dental bill... The waiters are lovely, but the food is atrocious. My sister bit into a rock in her fajitas. She cracked her tooth and we weren't comped or even apologized to. The manager tried to say it's very common to have rocks in food, that it happens... I will not go back here and I'm writing the corporate offices to warn them of this vile manager. GO TO DARIO'S on Lyons Ave. if you live in Valencia. It's not a chain restaurant and the managers are decent human beings. Support local businesses. Support people who are kind.

I would give this place a 1.5. I'm not sure if I will go back, except the margaritas were pretty good. The food, on the other hand, was not good. We ordered the ceviche, which was probably the worst I have ever had, and we do Mexican often, since it's my husband's favorite. The fish appeared to have been cooked ahead of time and had a strange texture to it. My husband had a taco salad, which he didn't really enjoy either. I tried a side of rice, and the it was very dry. The staff and server, however, were very nice. I wish the food was good, so we could come back. Unfortunately, that is not the case. There is a slight chance we may go in for a drink or two.

This restaurant is going downhill. The chips and salsa are cold and you are lucky if you get them within 15 minutes of arrival. The food is tasty and served hot. Drink refills are slow. The latest visit I noticed that they switched from cloth napkins to paper ones. Really??? They call this service. I predict this restaurant will not last long. Also the wait staff and Manager stand around talking to each other.

I'm going to make this short and sweet because there were so many things wrong and I don't have time to write a long dissertation. Me and a friend went to the Santa Clarita Presidente Restaurant on 08/17/2013 around 2:00pm because I had a craving for Ceviche. When we arrived we noticed that not only was there only a few customers in the restaurant, the interior is dated, and there were tiles missing in the corner around the base of the bar area, and it was not very clean. 1) My place setting had a fork with food stuck to it. ( the waitress was informed and she immediately handed me a clean fork) 2) Even though there weren't too many people in the restaurant we waited approximately 30 minutes until we were served our food. 3) I ordered ceviche and we both ordered the chicken and and beef fajitas and because the waitress didn't write it down I was never served the ceviche. She stated she forgot. 4) The fajitas had almost no flavor to them. I ate a few bites of my fajitas and couldn't finish it because it was so bad. 5) I asked the waitress if she has ever eaten the Fajitas here and she said no. I told her they weren't very good so she reached onto my plate with her fingers and tasted a piece of chicken and she agreed with me that it wasn't very good. 6) The waitress claimed that she asked the management to take if off of the bill and he said no. All in all a horrible experience and a waste of money. Avoid this restaurant! I will never again go to Presidente Restaurant and I will never recommend the Santa Clarita Presidente Restaurant to anybody.

My wife and I used to go to El Chapparal until they shut down. Liked it there, although the ambiance was not great and it was too well lit. Finally made our way to the sister restaurant, El Presidente. Same menu, same everything, but really nice inside. We've probably been there about 5 times now in the last 5 months. I'm surprised at the negative ratings. The place is quite popular and we've enjoyed the food there every time. Margs are good too, although one time it tasted off. We got comped that and had beer instead. Every time the service has been spot on. Not sure what to say about the negative reviews. We love the place. We've been let down at other local places like Maria Bonita and Margaritas. Presidente is much, much better than those.

I quite enjoy this restaurant. My wife and I have been there at all hours of the day (whether for lunch, mid afternoon or dinner) and haven't had to wait for a table. It's annoying that more people don't eat here as I've really enjoyed the food...but their loss is our gain! Their guacamole is really good, as are the chips and salsa. The guac isn't expensive and you get more than your money's worth (I've found that, at a lot of other mexican restaurants, they tend to skimp on guac). I tend to eat the pork dishes - and I have yet to be disappointed. My wife gets the cheese enchiladas and quite enjoys them. I'd suggest you give this restaurant a chance.

My absolute favorite mex restaurant. Large seating area and never a wait at this prez. Staff are all very friendly, fast and efficient. Order nearly anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed. Chips and salsa are complimentary with less mild salsa available. The house margaritas are tasty, very strong and good as it gets. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

We came here for lunch one day... and we saw the $8.99 buffet... dont get all happy just bc i wrote BUFFET now... bc the buffet has maybe only a couple of different things you can choose from... Rice, Steam Veggies, enchiladas, taquitos, salad/taco bar, & dessert bar (jello, flan, fruit) The cheese enchiladas is probably the best thing on the buffet side .. but overall the food is really salty... pro: good parking structure... cheese enchiladas.... red jello cons: too salty.

Service is good and their breaded steak is yummy!! The only thing was that there was a lot of sodium.

One of my husband's favorite places. He gets the fajita plate for himself. A LOT of food, and I think that is a meal for two anyway. I get a taco/relleno combo. It is good. Kids get burritos. They look good. $3.50 for corn cake on the side? really? When I have a hankering for American Mexican food, I will go to El Prez or it's sister restaurants, El Chaparral in Canyon Country or the other El Prez in Mission Hills.

Okay.... Read the yelp reviews AFTER we were seated. Super, super bummed. Sitting here and can't even believe people eat here. Being aware this might not be a great place to eat we ordered appetizers thinking- how could you mess THAT up?!? Well.... EWE! We ordered the fiesta platter which had one taquito cut in half, 2 mini chimichangas, 2 tiny triangles of a cheese quesadilla and chips slathered with yuck! So disappointing! Ice tea was the best thing we had! Asked waitress for hotter salsa and she came back way after we were finished picking at our food and said they just got done making it. Bull crap! I really am pre-warning people----- DO NOT EVER EAT HERE!!!

I came here early on a Friday night when it wasn't very crowded and we were seated right away. It took us about 10 minutes to get our drinks and once we did, it took even longer just to get refills. Also, there were 4 of us and we ate that little basket of chips rather quickly, and had to ask several times for more chips & salsa because our waiter kept forgetting :( I had tortilla soup and a cheese enchilada and they were both good. I just wish our service was a little better...

The brunch is really good! We have been going to this place for years. Their shrimp fajitas are out of this world, and their tortilla soup is healthy and very good though sometimes the veggies are a little over cooked. I keep going back for more!

I decided to try this place after discovering that the two La Cocina locations were very crowded with people waiting outside. On a Tuesday night, too...? This place did not smell, as another extremely harsh reviewer stated. The establishment was clean. But in stark contrast to La Cocina Grill, there were very few people there last night. Service was prompt and friendly. My only issues: First of all, the food (standard Mexican-America menu) is mediocre and not unlike every other Mexican establishment in the area (btw, why do all the Mexican restaurants in the SCV seem to use the exact same light, onion riddled enchilada sauce?). The shredded beef taco and chili relleno I ordered was perfectly fine, just nothing special. Beans were overcooked and on the dry side. Portions were smaller than average. Second, the interior is not very warm or cozy. Pink plaster walls, light blue booths... Who designs these places? Oh well, it's a minor issue... I plan to give the food another try. I'd like to find a good Chili Colorado.

Loved this place for 15 years! Great food, drinks and service. Wait for seating is usually zero because the place is huge. Great happy hour too. Ask for the Coronarita!

  • Chocolate D.

Are you all crazy? No good service? Even if you don't like the food, the service here makes the place worthwhile! Are you sure you are all going to the same place? Or are you being paid to downgrade this place? The food is not phenomenal, but it's solid and not expensive. The margaritas are excellent. Try the top shelf. The waiters are very cordial and very attentive. I once spilled an entire margarita, and I had 2 waiters helping clean it up. Then another showed up free of charge. If you want the wacky people and crowds and noise of La Cocina, go for it. I'll enjoy my good service, margarita, and peace and quiet at this place.

  • ER H.

Went here with my wife and the restaurant was really empty. Sat in a dark booth with no atmosphere but waited for our food to arrive to liven the experience. My wife had the shredded beef tacos and I had the carnitas. We enjoyed the chips and salsa as well as the Coronas, but the entrees were both really poor. The carnitas was dry on the edges and tasted "off" as though it had been made many days prior and was reheated in a microwave - really the worst I have ever had. My wife's tacos came in soggy shells which broke through and leaked all over ruining the experience. Good Mexican food is not that hard, you just have to care and try. There are so many places that do it better. We won't be back. Looking at other reviews - maybe this place is good for margaritas, but only that. Please don't order from the menu.

My father in law treated the whole family, so who am I to complain? The place was empty on a friday night.. The waiter gave me a dirty look because I had pointed out that my son ordered Albondigas not Tortilla soup. My old standby, taquitos rancheros was blah, rice was gross..etc. Etc. if wasn't even happy with the chips (I have been known to get full on them alone) not this time. If I ever feel like going to the Prez, ill go to Mission Hills

We wanted to try this place because, as I mentioned in a previous review for El Chaparral, we've been looking for "our" go-to Mexican food joint. And since we didn't find it with El Chaparral, this one was another place we always pass by, but have never stopped in to try. Before going here, we didn't realize that it's part of the El Chaparral chain of restaurants. In fact, we didn't even realize it was until I saw the front of the drink menu AFTER we sat down and ordered our meals. My heart sank. We had such a bad food experience at El Chaparral that I was not very optimistic about the quality of food at a restaurant by a different name, yet still in the same chain. I do have to say it was much cleaner than El Chaparral though. They had very friendly wait staff too. The food was still on the very so-so bland side, and what they pass as "spicy" salsa is actually "mild" in my book. I had the Chile Verde burrito and my husband had the beef chimichangas. My 3 and 4 yr old had a cheeseburger and chicken strips. The pork in the Chile Verde had a ton of fat chunks in it, and I had to literally dissect the burrito bite by bite to make sure I wasn't chewing on the stuff. The flavor was pretty good though, between the dissecting. My husband said his chimichangas were slightly better than what he had at El Chaparral. My children said their meals were good. The overall experience wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't a place we left, telling each other "WOW! That was awesome! We HAVE to come back here again!". More like "Meh... well, that was, um, some food, huh?". Or even better, what my husband says when he has a meal that isn't great, but it extinguished his hunger pains nonetheless, "Eh, it'll make a turd."... Yep, it'll make a turd. On that note, I don't think we'll be making the drive over to give it another try. Also, it's minuscule, but they have a short or something in their lighting. So the entire time we were eating, the chandeliers would get really dim (flickering the whole time), then gradually get blindingly bright, and then repeat the cycle over and over again. ANNOYING. I was waiting for a "POP!", and a shower of bulb glass to rain down on us.

Food was good, Margaritas were good, but service needs some help. We've never seen so many employees around with very few customers and we had to ask for extra salsa 3 times before we got it. The place was also very empty at 8 pm.

This is not nearly the best place to eat if you want Mexican Food in Santa Clarita. This is VERY mediocre Mexican food with not so good service. Go to Don Cuco - it's better.

Mediocre and expense. In a nutshell, a bad advertisement for Mexican dining

If you want fast Mexican food then come here. It always seems like there is never a wait and the service is very quick and good. The food is average though nothing to spectacular but the price is cheap. They also have good drinks and are fair priced. I would recommend this place to someone looking for a fast Mexican sit down restaurant.

My husband I came here for on a Sunday afternoon. They have a champagne buffet brunch but it was almost over so we weren't sure it we wanted a plated lunch or the buffet. We looked at the menu for a while and noone came to take our order so we decided to serve ourselves with the brunch. The food did not look that great but we were hungry so we made a plate anyways. They were serving chorizo and eggs so I asked if I could get some tortillias. The lady serving the food told me I could ask the waiter. The only problem was the waiter didn't come to the table until we finished our plate of food. He did however bring us water but we had to ask for the champagne. When he finally brought us a glass of champagne we didn't see him again until we were finished. So would not recommend this place to anyone. If the food was great it might be ok to have lousy service but the food as anything but.

  • Carolina S.

The burrito, enchilada, quesadilla are pretty good. I like their salsa..spicy! The price is not cheap but if you see the big portion of their dishes, then you'll understand why they charge you that much. The staff are nice and friendly. overall, they're ok.

We went here to try a different mexican restaurant than our normal go to spot. The last time we went to Presidente was in 06 and there's a reason for that. The beans taste like they came straight from a can and everything else is mediocre, as well. There are much better options in town.

Having been to the El Presidente in San Fernando/Mission Hills and being very satisfied I thought I'd try this place that is much closer and much more convenient for me (I did not ask to see if they are part of the same chain or have the same owner though). The menu was pretty similar to all your Tex/Mex places and the food was pretty similar to those places as well, average but not too bad. I would have given this place 3 stars had it not been for the horrible customer service that I received. It was an average weekday and there didn't seem to be that many customers but my party and I had to wait almost 7 or 8 minutes after being seated before our waiter came buy. I don't consider myself impatient or anal but 7 minutes seems like a long time to be recognized by the wait staff. I was willing to overlook this matter as I figured that though there may not be that many guest they may be limited on wait staff. But what put me over the edge was after my food was served our waiter disappeared completely. No check up on how the food was or refills on beverages. When I wanted some more salsa and hot sauce I waited 7 or 8 minutes (12-14 minutes after food was served) before having to get out of my seat and go search for anybody let alone my waiter. I had to venture to the bar before I found the manager and then he went to go look for my waiter. It was only afterwards that he would stop by and check on us, but then it got to be too much as he would stop by every 3 to 4 minutes. Bottom line, average food and far below average service. Definitely not worth your time or money imho. (Apparently this location has the same owner as the San Fernando location, complete opposites... go figure)

I have been a regular here for years. If you do not want to wait for a table, this is the place. Not because it is not good, but because the place is huge and the service is OUTSTANDING! You can sit with you family in normal restaurant seating, or in the bar area to monitor your favorite team. When I am jone'sing for Mexican food and I have not one to eat with I eat at the bar. Great Place and a reasonable price.

I went to this restaurant with a co-worker for lunch. For lunch they offered both a buffet and menu service. We looked at the buffet and perused the menu. The menu was limited relative to other mexican restaurannts I have been too. There weren't that many special and actually not too many combo's either. This isn't so much a criticism, as an FYI. If a place has a small menu but does what they do very well that's great (I'm looking at you In-n-Out). Anyway we both opted for the buffet which is out of character for me. So they buffet had taco shells, chicken and beef for tacos, very running refried beans, queso dip, cheese enchilada's, chili relleno, chicken fajita's, and rice with shrimp. Everything was edible though not particularly great and there were no tortilla's for the fajita's that I saw. The chili relleno's were hit and miss, as my coworker ate some, went back for more, but subsequently rejected the new ones. The cheese enchilada's, again, were edible, but had obviously been sitting on the buffet for a bit. There was a deasert bar with jello, flan, some kind of cheesecake, and fresh fruit, which was nice. A note, rather than helping yourself at the buffet, they had a girl working it, that would serve your food on to your plate. Which in retrospect, I liked, because for some reason it seems more clean to me Anyway... Pros: Clean, fresh fruit, Cons: Limited buffet and menu selection, very mediocre food, as usual - slow service at the register

The staff is excellent - we've never had anything but stellar service. As Mexican food goes the food is a 3-4 star - since I've lived in So. Cal. for most of my life, I know what 5 star Mexican food is, and El Presidente needs more to make it a solid 4 or 5 star. BUT, the drinks are excellent (margarita anyone?) and we're always seated quickly. Overall the place offers good service, good and plentiful food, and easy seating.

  • Dana D.

Just about the worst Amex food I have ever had. I gave this place three tries spread out over a few months to see if they have off nights. No dice, each time the food was bland. I seriously cannot understand why it's still in business.

  • Stephanie S.

DISGUSTING!!! The place smells like an EFFING wet dog!!! Worst service I have ever had... It took a half hour to bring chips and salsa (which sucked by the way) and THEN they took another 20 minutes to take my freaking drink order!! AWFUL food. AWFUL service. I don't know how anyone can eat here...I guess the only ones who do, have no tastebuds...

I ordered the Grilled Chicken Tostado and it was pretty good, but I've had better. Overall it was an excellent experience, and the only gripe I have with this place is that once we ordered our food, it took exceptionally long for it to arrive on our table. I will probably never eat there again.

Oct 19th was my Birthday and last minute we decided (my Wife and I, her sister and my niece and nephew) t to try this Presidente on Bouquet. Everything went perfectly! From the Smiling and friendly staff to our server Chino I was very impressed! They literally made us feel like celebrities ! We sat in the back patio and they turned on the cool lights for us which was highly amusing to the kids, they got our drinks out to us right away and brought extra chips and salsa. Then they new to rush the kids orders out right away all on there own without even asking, all of our food orders came out correct and were truly delicious! I know this review sounds made up because it is so good but Hand to God it is not. I rarely take the time to do these but they really deserve it. Thanks to Chino and the staff for making my birthday great! Sean D

I see all these haters on here talking about how bad this place is. I will have to disagree with most of these negative comments. I grew up in mostly a Mexican community. I am what you call a Weddo. Therefore, I feel I have had some of the best Mexican food around. With that said, it is by no means the worst mexican resraurnts around. Although it is hard to find great authentic Mexican food in Santa Clarita. The staff at Presidente is very efficient, and courteous with nice atmosphere. If you do not have something that meets your taste buds with pleasantries, then they will fix it. Not an extensive menu, but enough items to make you happy. My favorites here are the Arroz Con Pollo, and the Chili Verde. Also, you cannot go wrong with a big bowl of Albondigas soup. On Friday night through Sunday, they have a Tortilla lady near the bar area that will bring you freshly made tortillas to order. No other restaurant does this in Santa Clarita. You can even take a dozen home for $2.99 plus tx. The only reason why I am not giving them 5 stars is that they could definitely use some more authentic items on the menu, and some of their items can be a little more spicier. Enjoy! Pros: Efficient & courteous Nice atmosphere Quick to order Excellent homemade flour tortillas Food is fresh Excellent Arroz Con Pollo Cons: Need more authentic items Food can be a little bland (you have to know what to order) Need better salsa

I'm back.... This place is close to home and good tasting food. It's more like an El Torito, so don't expect home cook Mexican food. You will get good tasting food with big portions. This is our third time and the food is consistent. Clean establishment with plenty of seating also plenty of parking.

Went there for the lunch buffet which is 9.99, the selection of food was your typical rice and beans, chili verde, chicken fajitas and taco bar. My coworker and I were excited to try the food, but we quickly realized that the food was sub par. The rice looked like it was similar 2 rice'o roni and it contained veggies that were not fresh (frozen veggies), the enchiladas salsa had no flavor or spice, and like the rest of the food did not have authentic flavors and was bland. However the service was great. The server was attentive and friendly. We loved the margaritas, they were super delicious and only 4 bucks!!! This place needs a lot of work when it comes to the food. If it wasn't for the service and margaritas, I would have given them a 1. I probably would not eat there again.

Worst mexican food! They have a lot of nerve serving people this crap. This no where near mexican.....I grew up in East LA, so I know what I'm talking about. Food was bland and not fresh, they just cover everything up with lettuce? That was weird. salsa was like stewed tomatoes out of a can, and don't get me started on chips! How can you serve out of the bag thick chips then reheat them? Real authentic tortilla chips are thin and light...these things could break a tooth. Service was OK, atmosphere was a little depressing...their prices are ridiculous....need I say more? Don't even try, you'll end up hating yourself afterwards.

How this place stays in business I'll never understand. Clearly must be a money laundering facility....

They have decent margaritas (thus the 2nd star)...but there are so many Mexican and Mexican/American places in the SCV that are better, there is no reason to go here. The last time we came here, we were greeted with bad service and mediocre to bad food. We haven't been back and are glad to not go back for any reason.

My respect for this place is slowly thinning, it seems that the latest management has decided to now start becoming lazy and incapable of being even decent to their customers, allowing women that cuss up a storm even to other customers with their children present, fly, and that is not a pleasant environment to be in, which brings me to the pricing, that seems to change on a daily basis, almost like their staff. I do not CURRENTLY recommend anyone to come here for Mexican food, go to La Cocina if you want better Mexican American food. At least their sampler platter doesn't include hot wings.

I ran into this place when I needed some good food and it was 9:55 pm after leaving Six Flags. I guess the kitchen closes at 10:00 pm but the bar stays open until 11:00 pm. We called and they took our oder over the phone at 10:01 and we loved our meal. Our food was ready when we arrived and the service was phenomenal! The chicken fajitas were streaming and the the hot salsa made the dish. Perfectly seasoned chicken and caramelized onions...mushrooms too! So grateful!!

Fiesta platter for a late night snack ! Chicken sandwich is very delicious as well, especially for a Mexican restaurant ! The chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce is yummy as well ! They even have a burrito with cilantro green sauce that is so good ! This is our go to Friday or Saturday night dinner place !

I'm a big fan of Presidente restaurant. Here's why, They have a great menu, good service and an appealing restaurant. This particular location especially. The food is always good. I always enjoy the chips and salsa and get good service from every server. This is a beautiful restaurant which reminds me of a Mexican resort with a nice bar.

Horrible food and horrible service ! I had a group of coworkers that we met up for dinner and are waiter made a big deal on our separate checks and took for ever take our order and they weren't even busy there only a few customers in restaurant . I was very disappointing that's why I gave them one star

We had lunch here for the first and last time a few days ago. IThere were few customers but contact with wait staff was still minimal. There were long waits during every step of our order and delivery. It probably is not a good sign when the chips and salsa taste like they've been around for days. We hardly touched them. My date had the tamale combo and pronounced it as "okay." I ordered the grilled chicken tostada. Grilled means healthy, right? The chunks of chicken had grill marks and we couldn't tell, but they were FULL of gristle and fat! It was absolutely gross and disgusting. It actually seemed to increase in volume as I tried to chew it. I had no clue anybody could mess up a chicken tostada. Adios, Presidente!

Another great experience at the Pres... Didn't feel like waiting around for La Cocina because the kids had to get to bed. We were in and out in the same amount of time it would have taken us to wait for a table at Cocina. The service and food was great! Love it!

I'm not eating here just based on the reviews! I was in the area pulled over to check out good old Yelp saw this and said nevermind!

Food was ok but certainly not authentic!!! Service was really good and the food came really fast. The restaurant is a bit outdated with their furniture and decorations and nothing presidential to it. Sorry.

I thought it was decent. Yes, we also ended up here after giving up on La Cocina (i.e. too crowded, too long of a wait). We had the 'Cheese enchilada and taco plate' and also the 'Chicken Taquitos plate'. Both were good. Although not 'the most amazing we've ever had', it was nice. Service was good, the wait-staff was friendly, drinks were good. I do think the place could be cozier, though. It's like it's almost too spacious, which creates a slightly 'cold' atmosphere.

The service was not good. I would say terrible, but they were understaffed, and that created the bad service. We were there for 15 minutes before chips were brought and waters. The guacamole was not worth the $8, but the rest of the good was good. My husband loved the arroz con pollo. I hadn't been there in years because the last time we went when it was empty, the service wasn't good and the food wasn't up to par. Was really hoping they could pull it out, but not sure we will give them a try again soon.

There is just something not right about this place. The service is "OK", and the food is "MEH", but the management is scary. Every manager in this place looks like they belong to the mafia... These people need to lighten up. Have a little energy. Be a FUN mexican restaurant instead of a stuffy boring one. Mexican food is supposed to be FUN! I only go here between 3 and 6 because that's happy hour. Otherwise, I would not waste my money.

I would give this place no stars but you have too. There was cockroach in my tostada she'll in the crack. So disgusting. I literally couldn't get out if there fast enough. They wouldn't even comp our whole meal. Please beware of your food at this place.

Horrible unsafe food! Horrible Service! I suggest that you avoid El Presidente Restaurant altogether. After giving this place several chances, the conclusion is the same. Horrible food? Out of three meals we had, the food was consistently bad. The chips and tortillas smelled and tasted like the oil has not been changed in a long time. That is a Health Code violation. The grease and oil pooled on the outside of the tortilla after sitting for a few minutes. The salsas tasted bad. That could be from not being fresh, or not using fresh ingredients. Horrible Service? The server forgot our appetizer. He was short and failed to take notes about our order. He seemed to not care about getting our food to us in a timely and accurate fashion. He also paid no attention to our family dynamic, and brought our 5 year old multple glasses of lemonade without asking me. I suggest that you go anywhere but Presidente for a meal!

We go there once a month as it is on the other side of the valley from us, but the food is always fantastic and the service is great. My two item combo was so filling I took the left overs home for lunch the next day. The price for two items was only 10.99 and a bowl of albondigas was only $2.25 with the dinner. It was nice to meet the new manager Teresa, who came around to make sure everything was alright. I had a Sapphire martini and was surprised at the $8 price. After reading all these negative reviews, we will be back more often. The folks that wrote about the bad food must have a personal gripe about the place as we have being coming here for 10 years and I am a grumpy old man and if the food was bad during that time I would have sent it back. Good luck Teresa, we'll be back. PS the salsa was so good my wife got a 1/2 pint to go.

Why all the haters? I don't understand how so many people could be so brutal with their reviews when I've only had fun here. Hmmmm? So.... we always start in the bar with a margarita! Come to think of it, we also end in the bar with a margarita ;) They have pre-mixed marg's on tap. The plus is they always taste the same and they're yummy. And they're strong! Not in taste, but how they sneak up on ya. The negative is I'm such a rookie with those margarita glasses that are fat on top and have a slim flute bottom. I have to concentrate on not spilling. Don't wanna miss a drop! yelp.com/biz_photos/OPAC… I'll be honest. We've only gone here during Happy Hour. I know. You're shocked, right? Here's their Happy Hour menu - presidenterestaurant.com… Not only are the drink and appetizer prices great (especially for this over-priced area), they also have free food set out as well - chips, salsa, cheese enchiladas, tacos (not sure what kind but Honey usually downs 2 or 3), salad, taquitos.... And you can definitely fill up on the freebies, have a couple of $3.75 16 oz margaritas, and leave a decent tip for around $20 ;) yelp.com/biz_photos/OPAC… Salud!

The restaurant is clean and the servers are really efficient/friendly. Various other staff members (i.e. bussers, hosts/hostesses, bartenders) are really zippy with direction and are also just as friendly. The food also comes out really quick, which is always great if you are in a rush. The problem, however, is that the food is not really the best Mexican food available in Santa Clarita. I ordered chicken/beef flautas, my husband had the carnitas, and my in-laws had a salad and tacos. It all tastes very generic and bland. The chips are overly greasy and the salsa didn't really have any kick. I would say that my favorite part of the whole meal that we ordered was the margaritas. They were strong and tangy. The service here is the saving grace. I would say go here if you're looking for a cheap date night restaurant before a movie in Valencia. I hear the Sunday brunch isn't too bad either... Pros: -Great Service -GREAT margaritas -Cheap Cons: -Food is not the tastiest

This place is run horribly! Management is shameful. They treat the employees like crap. The food is mediocre, and that's the best I can say... Oh and it smells like sewer, especially the closer to the bathroom you go. Maybe its time to hire a professional to fix the plumbing!

The management there is horrible & they don't treat their employees with respect. The shredded meat always hurts my stomach. Their grilled chicken sandwich is really amazing although it is not Mexican food. Their Chimi-Ribs are also amazing. I have had a lot on the menu. The Shrimpacado Salad is also very good.

Don't waste your time. Better restaurants in the neighborhood. We made the mistake of checking this place out and were sorely disappointed. Carnitas dry, guacamole not fresh, chips are terrible and salsa sweet. Pass this restaurant by and enjoy your meal elsewhere. Trocadero and Alamo are head and shoulders above this establishment...

Just wanted to update my review with a special thank you to Chino and his buddies for taking such great care of us on Saturday afternoon. They allowed us to have happy hour on the patio (normally only in the bar) and made sure we were well taken care of the entire time. Oh, by the way... happy hour 3:30-6 every day of the week! check it out... cheap and delicious margaritas!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
