I love the food, service, kid-friendly atmosphere, and the prices. Everyone is always friendly and it's a great, comfortable place to have a casual dinner. Plus, they do a terrific job at accomodating large parties for special occasions and offer good Happy Hour specials.

I've been going to Giorgio's since I was little. I lived down the street then, and I live down the street now. Fantastic. Let me tell you what I like about this place. The menu has MANY items to choose from. The pizza is always a winner. VERY fresh and tasty. lots of flavors and toppings to choose from. Tuesday night they have cioppino. It's around 20 dollars, but freaking' AMAZING. It comes with many different kinds of seafood and the definitely do NOT skimp on the seafood. It also has a spicy broth and pasta in it. It comes with delicious garlic bread, too. SO GOOD! My other favorite thing to order is the warm pasta/spinach salad. It's cooked rigatoni mixed with sauteed garlic, onions, bell peppers, and bacon. Then, they mix in fresh spinach, walnuts, & gorgonzola cheese. It's like a party in my mouth, folks. A MUST TRY! So, if you haven't been already. GO to GIORGIO'S. You won't regret it.

we went here for dinner tonight and the service was VERY slow we were sat at a table right by the first isle. the waitress was not interested in helping us this resturannt is VERY noisy and busy it took 20 minutes to get our bread and drinks, I wanted to go there for awhile and was truly disapointed with the service and the food was just ok, the bread was really diapointing , it was cheaply baked rolls not french bread like most italian resturants we wont be going this place again, the check was almost 50 dollars and all we had was a salad and spagetti dinners , I was so disapointed : ( you guys need to work on your service and get some good bread as most people can eat cheap rolls at home !! and act like you care that we came to eat there

I've never eaten at the restaurant but I always order out here when I'm not in the mood to cook... They have a great selection of food and large portions.... Some of their Salmon and seafood dishes suck But overall they have good food, good portions, good prices and fast service when you phone in to go you can pick it up 15 min later...They have yummmy cheesy garlic bread... mmmm

I have been going to this place since I was a child (when it had wine bottles lining the walls covered in candle wax and the ceiling was over grown with plastic grape vines). It is a good place to eat, though a bit pricey. The portion size is good, there is a strong neighborhood crowd who is loyal and the service is usually good. The only down side is the wait on weekend.

This is one of our frequent dinner options and with good reason. They have good pizza! Our favorite is the Giorgio's Special - light on the sauce and extra meat. They have some good pastas as well -- try the Penne Calabrese with Light Tomato sauce. My favorite salad is the antipasti one. It feeds four. -can phone orders in -good pizza -can get crowded -good service

First of all this place was really easy to find. I really like the atomosphere reminds me of my favorite Restaurant in Anahiem. The bread they give you is awesome. The minestrone is great and the clam chowder is the best i've had. Calamari is seasoned perfectly. I ordered the Chicken parmesan and it was good but it wasn't as great as the other items I had. Very good marinara sauce. Friendly and attentive service.

For the price, this place has great tasting food. Lots of pasta, seafood and meat dishes. Sauce is really good, and the pizzas are very tasty. Nice place for families. I like the mushroom pasta dish and the meat pizza. Nice dining!

Everything was great! Service , cleanliness, food, employees... Our server was fantastic! I think her name was Patty or Penny. She was very knowledgable about all the food, and kept us updated on how long the wait would be. Overall very very impressed .

when giving an average review, i always struggle with whether to start or end with the good news; i'll preface this by saying the service we received here was great--very fast and friendly. i had capelleni, which was good and pretty cheap. unfortunately, i can't say the same for the pizza which was both overwhelming and underwhelming, for different reasons. my table had the mushroom and sausage and the four cheese, both of which sucked. the crust on the pizzas was just atrocious--huge and about the weight of your head. bear in mind that i'm normally big on crust, but finishing one slice alone was chore. i'd come here again, but definitely not for the pizza.

I was in charge to setup a luncheon at Giorgio. Best way to find out how good a pizza is to have a plain cheese pizza. I was not impress. The cheese was not tasty or chewy, the sauce was just average. I was more unhappy with the way Giorgio take care of it's customer. I had a 15% coupon which I got from the newspaper. Giorgio would not except coupon for large group. I informed the cashier, nowhere did the coupon say it was invalid for large group. Then she said, "Well, Mercury News Paper made a mistake." Then I asked if I can get 10% discount just to be fair. She said I'm not in position to give that. I replied, "Who is?" The district manager. Now I started to think, Giorgio only have two location, Milpitas and San Jose. Why would a family run business have a district manager? I felt like I was given the run around. My total bill was over $300, which would had been a discount of $30. If Giorgio care about giving good customer service, a discount should have been given. Now I just have a bad taste about Giorgio.

I just had lunch and I WILL NEVER come back to dine here. I have been in the restaurant business for over 7 years so naturally I'm very understanding about service food etc. Everyone has their days but this food was HORRIBLE. we had the veal and a calzone. The veal portion was extremely small almost non existent. The vegetables were old and cold, my broccoli soup tasted sour, and I ordered a side of Alfredo sauce which was so thin, runny and bland. Btw that i didnt touch yet still got charged 2$ for...as well as told our server that it shouldnt be considered alfredo sauce because of its consistancy taste AND appearance and he said its creamy alfredo sauce. He contradicted himself obviously.I also asked our server what Fontina cheese was (which was in my calzone) and he chuckled at the question and said "it's fontina cheese..." as if it were a stupid question and everyone should know..I said is it like blue cheese? And he agreed with me like I could have said ANY cheese and he wouldve agreed. He never checked back with us to see how our meal was, he only came back to give us a check. I talked to the manager on duty who as well wasn't very sympathetic to the situation. Overall id give no stars if it would let me because that was the worst dining out experience I have ever had.

Location: Tucked away in a little pseudo-mall on Foxworthy/Cherry Parking: Ample, mall + street Ambiance: Very hospitable, very italiano Reservations: Unnecessary, except dinnertime from Fri-Sun. Take-out: Available, so call them if you want to dash-then-dine Food: Italian (duh!) - Pizzas, Pasta, Calzones... Cost: A little higher than the average I've been a patron of Giorgio's for almost a decade now, living right up the street from them. And in that time I haven't had occasion to criticize the food or the restaurant - both of which are top notch. The prices can be a little higher than you'd expect from a place tucked away in an out-of-the-way suburban pseudo-mall, but the food is still worth it. The calzones are excellent (around $14), and I try to get them whenever possible. The portions are pretty large, so the odds are good you'll be going home with a bag - order accordingly. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the food arrives pretty quickly. Definitely a place to try out - I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Very good spot. They have a great house salad and they make their own sausage -- you lika da sausec'e? Try the homemade sausage bread. It is fantastic. I dig on the lamb as well.

Love the fresh tomato, basil and garlic pizza. Great sausage bread as well.

I waited to come here a couple of times before I felt I could accurately review this restaurant. The first time I went it was a very busy Friday evening full of high school kids-- it was obviously the Coronation Dances for some schools. Even though it was busy, the service was fast and friendly and the food was very good. We had the Veal Scallopini and the Chicken Cacciatore. The veal was definitely the standout of the two. I felt the cacciatore's chicken pieces were too big and because it was white meat, a bit dry. Their regular table bread was outstanding. The second time I went, it was on a Tuesday night (rather late- around 7:30 pm) with my teenage daughter and two of her friends. The restaurant was a lot less crowded so we got a table immediately. Overall, the service was just so-so for being so empty. It didn't make sense. We had to wait and search out our server every step of the dinner-- to order, to get bread, to ask for takeout boxes, to order dessert, to ask for another takeout box, to ask for the check, to have the server pick up the check to pay and then I had to get out of my seat to search out the server to see what happened to the check AND my credit card. And there were literally only about 3 tables left in the whole restaurant. The staff seemed more interested in cleaning up and closing down rather than facilitating us in finishing our meal. And the waiter was very pushy, suggesting appetizers (more than twice, garlic bread, wine - for me) and he seemed rather put out that we only ordered entrees and sodas (even though later we did order two desserts!) Ok. The food is pretty good solid Italian food-- nothing fancy, but nothing bad. Their pesto is creamy and very tasty. Their pasta with the filet mignon and cream sauce was yummy. The pomodoro alfredo sauce was very tasty as well. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and meatsauce. I think my dish was the least favorite of all the dishes. I felt the sauce was good, but the meatballs were a bit gristlely and the pasta a bit overcooked for my taste. I like my pasta al dente. The desserts were good. We had the chocolate pie and the cheesecake. I will be back and may update this review!

Came here for dinner on Friday night. The appetizers we started with (sauteed mushrooms & calamari) were decent, but things went straight downhill from there. The garden salad & minestone soup were okay, but the soup of the day (clam chowder) was clumpy and just barely lukewarm. Two of us ordered the Friday night special, which was fish with vegetables and rice. The fish was very bland, the veggies were way overcooked, and the rice was so undercooked that it wasn't edible. My friend and I both barely touched our food. Come on Giorgio's! This is your daily special! Get it together or take it off the menu! The two who ordered pasta weren't impressed with their food, either. Oh well. At least my Italian beer was tasty.

Update to my last review on Giorgio's. Found ourselves in the vacinity and starving. Reluctantly gave them another try and Holy Hannah....what a difference! Not only did we get a Pizza just like we did years ago, with loads of toppings and one a chain couldn't duplicate but the service was outstanding. Our Waiter couldn't do enough for us this evening. We felt they went above and beyond good service and good eats! Will highly recommend these folks after our experience. Maybe we caught them on an "off" night, They've really redeemed themselves and we won't hesite to return again!

First time coming here with some friends and we were seated fast. The place is very nice and extremely unassuming from the outside. It feels like a restraunt but encourages patrons to come as casual and as such I felt really out of place wearing tie-dye and an old loose jacket. We ordered the caprese and a four cheese pizza. The pizza was loaded with so much Parmesan that the cheese wasn't holding itself together, none of us terribly liked this but it wasn't a complete turn off either. The Caprese featured underripe tomoatoes (to be fair it is hard to get them at this time of year) and rather bland mozzarella. They did offer a bottle of olive oil and what I believe was balsamic vinegar, neither of which is necessary as it was already coated with a fine layer of olive oil. For what you get (4 slices of cheese and 4 slices of tomatoe) the caprese is very over priced (something like $6.75) and is easier made at home for far, far less. Of course we went here to eat not to stay home. This place really deserves 3 stars for the price of the caprese but the food was definitely good. If I happen to be in San Jose (the receipt says they're actually in Sunnyvale) I'll definitely try this place again.

I have no idea why this place is so popular... The pizza tasted AWFUL. The service is bad. They tried to remodel and didn't gain anything from it. There is no more room than there used to be, and everything is still the same. But of most importance, the Pizza tasted AWFUL!

I've been a fan of Giorgio's for 20 years. There's a nice family environment and it's one of the places that only locals know about. Tomato, Basil and Garlic pizza is one of their specialties.

Giorgio's is simply the best value in southern Italian food for miles around, with attentive staff and an inviting and fun atmosphere. Pick anything on the menu and you can't go wrong. Most of all, I love the big beautiful Rotoflex pizza oven! It's the only one I know of in the south bay and it's one of the secrets of their great pizza.

  • Darren M.

Everyone in my family really likes Giorgio's, I on the other hand do not. Their pizza is definitely not my favorite in San Jose. I don't like the atmosphere or the service and none of the food is really all that exceptional. If I am forced to eat here or we are ordering pizzas from here for pick up I always just ask to get the four cheese formaggio because other than that I can't really stomach anything else from here.

In terms of Italian Restaurants in San Jose, this is an old time favorite. This is the staple restaurant for owner John D'Ambrosio. From the Pizza throwers in the window to the Italian Sausge bread to their great pizza's and Pasta, this place is an Italian classic.

First time at this restaurant. Very popular place. Went on a Saturday night before a play. Too long a wait but a table for two was available by the take out counter. Grab it since we didn't want to wait the 45 minutes. I was concerned we would be forgotten being by ourselves but that was not the case. Within minutes there was a very efficient waitress with a smile waiting on us. And she came back often during our meal so see how we were doing and refill our water glasses. The food was good and portions good size. I will return to this restaurant soon and try the pizza

Had dinner tonight after avoiding this place for years cause my ex lived down the street and use to come here. Now that he has moved 3 streets away from my apartment, I'm safer coming here, then going to the grocery store! Haha. Atmosphere: Cute! Tiny but you don't feel crowded. I liked the paintings and the fake plants hanging from the ceiling. They didn't look stupid/tacky fake, but cute fake. Service: Our waitress was super nice and very attentive even though she was like 1 of two waitress in the whole place! She had a smile the whole time and was quick with the refills. She in fact was a little *too* quick with them so I downed double the soda I normally do at resturants and ended up with a little sugar/cafffine high and was bouncing in my seat. Food: The food was just ok. Me and my boyfriend started with the house salad with ranch. They didn't dry the lettuce enough so it made the dressing SUPER watery, which is not good. My boyfriend had the BBQ chicken pizza. When it came they didn't do a good enough job cutting it so the super nice waitress took it back to the kitchen to have them cut it. I really liked the chicken on the pizza, but he said it was just ok. I tried a bit of the crust with some of the sauce and the sauce was good, but the crust tasted very similar to Papa John's. Overall he said the BBQ chicken pizza at BJ's at Oakridge is better and I have to agree (just cause I love the deep dish!), but this was still decently good. I ordered the tortellini with alfredo sauce. The dish was a good serving size. Not huge like most places, but still enough that I couldn't finish it. The alfredo sauce was good (maybe homemade/from scracth?), but the cheese tortellini were totally tasteless and bland. Had to put as much sauce as I could on each one so that the pasta had atleast some flavor. Atleast no flavor is preferable to bad flavor and the good sauce made it edible. Dessert was mhm mhm mhm! He had the cheesecake (his favorite), which was a little too cheese cakey for my taste. I had the Mo'Cioccolate which as I described it as "chocolate chocolate with more chocolate and chocolate on top". Really it was Oreo cookie crust with Ghirdelli chocolate and Kahlua filling with more oreo pieces and a chocolate hot fudge topping. So so so good! The kahlua flavor was perfect and I described it as a mudslide cocktail in pie form! My boyfriend wanted mine and I was so full, I let him have a lot. Overall: 3.5 but rounding up, since it was a pretty enjoyable dinner with great service. Would come back again!

I went here a million times growing up and I wish there was one up in Sacramento. I truly recommend this place to everyone and if it is busy, wait. It's worth it.

This place is right down the street from me, so I've been going here for years. Their pizza is THE BEST, esp just their plain cheese. For some reason their cheese pizza is just amazing, the cheese is thick and hot and ugh, I want it in my mouth right now. It gets super, super busy on weekends. It's not my favourite place ever, but it's totally good eats.

Mmmm, normally i am not a fan of sausage - but in the italian sausage calzone was to die for! ***Checks pulse***.... (yup, I'm dead alright). But I couldn't continue on the afterlife until I praised this gem of a resaurant. This is only my 2nd official Italian experience in the south bay (chains don't count), and I wouldn't be surprised if it remains the best. Yummy food, big portions, friendly, promt service. It's a family place but still manages to retain a semblance of romance. Also good for groups! Now, if they only had gnocci, I would be in heaven and not some in between waiting-area trying to find Elvis. If you want good yummy food come here!

  • Pearl V.

It looks SO much better after the big face-lift! It's a cute place for a casual intimate dinner or with a group. I usually get pasta and I have never really had anything to complain about. After reading other reviews, I think I'll order one of their pizzas the next time we get our grub on here.

I've had their spaghetti, lasagna, and various pizzas. You know what I liked best??? Their pizza, of course!!! Gotta love their four cheese pizza--it'll back you up for a week its so cheesy, but it tastes absolutely divine! Best of all, the restaurant is tucked away in a little strip mall in a residential area. It's practically hiding from the rest of the world.

Excuse me....an Italian restaurant on a Friday night and they are out of clam chowder?! It wasn't like the restaurant was crowded either! There was a wait in the little front foyer but when I went to the bathroom, the entire back room was empty of customers! So when we finally sat down and the chowder was out, that was crazy! Our entrees, a calzone and a linguine with assorted seafood in a light tomato sauce (can't say or remember the exact entree's name) were ok, not great but not bad. Oh...but back to the bathroom. What a mess! Out of paper and seat covers, garbage cans over flowing, etc. I'd hate to see them on a truly busy Friday night!

My family loves Giorgio's. imho one of the two best restaurants in Willow Glenn. Service can sometimes be a little bit slow, mostly when they can get busy (cause the food is so good :-).

Last Saturday evening we celebrated my wife's birthday with our entire family including grandchildren(5, 3). Brian the General Manager personally seated us at a lovely table and the waitress took our orders right away. We had brought our own wine(2008 BV Tapestry Reserve) so we ordered 3 appetizers which were delicious. Our main course however took a little longer since the restaurant was very full. My one little niggle was that my soup was not delivered in advance of my entree but at the same time! But the family friendly atmosphere and the great Italian food more than made up for this. Overall a memorably pleasant experience which we hope to repeat next month for my birthday!

My wife and I had dinner there tonight. We arrived and there were folks waiting outside, so we expected a long wait for a table. We were pleasantly surprised to be seated in about 10 minutes. The bread and water arrived within a minute of being seated, and our server Chris was there soon after. The bread is fresh with a slightly salty crush, and very tasty. My wife had a dinner salad and a bowl of the Minestrone soup for her entree. I had the Chicken and Sausage Caccatorre. The salads were good and crisp. Our entrees were very good. No wait for the check, and we were out of there, well-fed and happy, in less than a hour. Remarkable for what is clearly a very popular restaurant on a Saturday night. They clearly know how to 'turn tables', but we didn't feel rushed at any time. The pizzas looked really good too. I'll have to try their take-out pizza next time I get the urge for a nice pizza. This is a mature business who have the winning formula for good food at reasonable prices, good service and a friendly atmosphere. I give it 5 stars. I've never been disappointed at Giorgio's !! Update: Had dinner there 10/14/06 - arrived at 6PM and the place was mobbed with high school couples dressed for a Homecoming dance - yet we waited only 10 minutes! I had the spaghetti with meatballs which was excellent. My wife had the NY Style Lasagna and really enjoyed it. Giogio's has done it again!

I have been going to Giorgio's since I was a kid. Good neighborhood restaurant serving quality Italian food - nothing fancy about Giorgios. Pizza is a bit pricey but worth it to have quality ingredients with a good solid crust. Large servings and decent service. Didn't like being seated right next to the bathrooms the last time we went but realize that we were a party of 7 and had to be seated somewhere. Parking stinks, especially if it is on a Friday or Saturday night. But all in all, we will continue to go to Giorgios for both take out and eat in.

Went to Giorgio's a couple weeks ago for some pizza. Delicious!! I'm pretty picky about my pizza, and this place was spot on with everything... perfect, thick, soft crust, sweet sauce and the right amount of toppings. I'm definitely coming back!

  • Angela T.

Okay, I love this place. You can get all your classic faves here. I live around the corner and enjoy their awesome Italian cuisine. Ask anyone within a 6 mile radius where they eat Ital weekly, and this is it. However, lately, some things have been slipping big time! Specifically, the Friday night take out. In the past, we have all been willing to wait the 2.5 hours for a freaking pizza because they use real cheese & good sauce. My last two experiences have been poor: You pay $30 for the pie and wait for days, and it's not even cooked. No shit, my 3 chz fontina, blue and motz was sitting on a 1/2 frozen sheet of dough about an 1/8 of an inch thick. What the hell is that? IN THE MIDDLE OF LENT NONE THE LESS! We have limited choices here- but this was not my idea of suffer age.

  • Franco A.

Beware: HUGE, DELICIOUS Portions all over the menu! It's true, the food at Giorgio's is awesome and the portions are huge (so don't try to eat the whole thing at one sitting, take the rest home with you for some awesome leftovers! The pizza is really good and the sausage bread will keep you coming back.

This place is awesome if what you love is extremely mediocre food. It wasn't bad, but it's certainly was not good, either.

Georgio's used to be known for quality food and friendly service. Well, not anymore. I won't bore you all with the specifics, but we dined here tonight and the food was bad, the service was worse, and my friend threw up on the way home immediately after dinner. Don't waste your time or money here. Honestly, Olive Garden is a better place to eat, and that's really saying alot.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Being from an Italian family I know how good Italian food tastes. All of their pasta dishes are superb. I love their Rigatoni e Spinaci. SO GOOD!!! Something I can't seem to make at home. Their sauces are wonderful, all of them. Their Pizza's are the best in the area, though I wish they delivered. I have eaten here over 50 times, I've had just about everything on the menu and loved all but one, it was a salmon special on a Friday night that I substituted with risotto which was not very tasty.

    (5)
  • Heather G.

Great food. Great service. And the patrons are usually neighborhood folks so we run into at least one person we know. With three little ones, we feel comfortable eating here as the folks at the tables next to us usually flirt with our girls rather than send us evil eyes for having children that don't stay seated the entire time. I have also used them for catering --- a HUGE help when having 40+ people over. Spaghetti and garlic bread, easy and no work!

  • Wayne P.

This is just a good honest to goodness no frills italian eatery. Totally relaxed atmosphere and fun place to eat. Sometimes it is good to eat a pizza fresh out of the oven in the place that cooked it, versus prying soggy slices out of a cardboard box. Try the sausage bread, it is very good. Easy parking and friendly staff makes going here a no hassle experience.

  • Lindsay C.

bruschetta - if you like garlic, you'll love this. very flavorful the house bread and herbed butter they give you is also delicious. the bread was very fresh and hot. the entrees were a good sized. plenty to take home for leftovers tomorrow. service was average. but bring your earplugs, cuz this place is loud. not good for a date unless it's with the whole family.

  • Harry L.

Nice job on the remodel, otherwise - I would not have noticed the place. If you are NOT in a hurry and like italian food - this is a good place. Don't get sticker shocked when you get the bill. It's a bit expensive but the quality is good. It's not a fast food place and the prices show it. For the convience of a local eatery - the price is higher since there's not much competition except say the Mojo burger place on the corner and a chinese resturant in the middle and a Starbucks on the other end of the strip mall. On the up side, lots of parking spaces, nice bar, nice area, nice neighborhood, decent food. On the down side, wait, pricey but not gouge you high - but a little high.

I was so disappointed, I have eaten there in the past and the food was so much better. They renovated and now the food is terrible. I ordered some filet mignon medallions and it was so undercooked that someone on the table next to me actually commented on it. I sent it back they dumped all of it back in a pan including hte sauce whch was then ruined, and the mash potatoes were gross. I am not a picky eater but this was really bad! Not to mention the fact that the waitress who was very nice and all, spilled my cocktail, my clam chowder and my food. Oiiii, what a waste of money.

Ok, other than possibly Round Table, this is the best pizza anywhere as far as I'm concerned. The other dishes are good too, but I usually order pizza when I come here because that is what they do better than anyone else. The service has been exemplary the last few visits here as well. Order the pizza.

What a treat to find this place tucked into a shopping center near my house. We wanted the pesto chicken bread appetizer, but they were out, so we got the sausage one. Good and greasy! I don't remember the name of my dish, but it was a linguini with all kinds of seafood - shrimp, calamari, clams, scallops, and white fish. It was a big portion and I'm going to heat up the leftovers for dinner tonight! My date got the manicoti which I tasted, and it was quite tasty!

Overall pretty decent food & service. When I went, it took forever to get bread, which at 1st was a basket with only 2 rolls (1 per person) which gave off a cheap feeling. Refills on soda, only pepsi & dr pepper, btw, also took awhile. The prices are a bit above what I think is fair, but not super above, just somewhat. I got a house salad and the pizza from the appetizer list. The salad was pretty large and very fresh, so no complaints there. The pizza was also good, although definitely only enough for one person (don't try to substitute this appetizer pizza for a main course one). My bf got the chicken parm and he liked it. It wasn't fried, which is nice if you're trying to watch out for that kind of food. Never gotten it myself, but they have a family meal option where it's a set price for a certain # of servings of specific dishes. To get around the pricing disagreement, seems like this could be the way to go if you come with a larger party.

This place has very expensive. The food is not worth the price they are charging. The only positive is that it is located in a good area, nice staff, and a nice looking place. Negatives: Expensive, food not that great, taste like they zapped the food.

tucked into a strip mall, you'd never think that one of the best places for Italian food in San Jose would be buried here. Weekends are slammed. A party of 6 had to wait 40 minutes, which turned to 60, but its still damn good chow. The calazone is excellent, the lasagna is wonderful and the antipasto fresh. I've never had the pizza myself, but my brother swears by it. Well worth the drive out of downtown for me. I wish they had a better wine list, but its a small price to pay for some of the best eating out Italian you can get.

slow service the night we visited. like just getting the waitress to notice us slow. and we were seated under a phone ringer - that was nuts. Really? You have a ringer up on a wall in the dining room??

Baked lasagna is absolutely amazing, and this is one of the few Italian restaurants left that actually bakes the lasagna in a ceramic dish and serves it bubbling hot straight out of the oven. I have been a few times with friends and co-workers and each time it is consistently outstanding. Definitely the type of real Italian food that I crave.

Definitely the BEST pizza! I agree with Yvonne C. about the crust. It is cooked to perfection! We used to go to Guido's years & years ago since my step-dad knew the owner (remember their little Italian restaurant on S. Bascom?) and was so bummed when they closed after moving to Pruneyard. I read a review in SJ Mercury News about how everyone loved Giorgio's so we tried it & of course loved it too. I'm glad we found this place which happens to be a very close to our house. Another bonus is it is kid friendly. The week-ends are absolutely packed so I suggest just sitting outside and drinking a glass of wine or beer while you wait.

been coming here for 20 yrs i must admit, the pizza here has gone downhill over the years however, the sauce, although plain, is very nice.. the toppings, hearty, the dough tasty (albeit always a bit undercooked) had alfredo w/ chicken here a few weeks ago, and will continue to order just the pizza here. and please, if you have a full liquor license, cater to the alcoholics and put in a freaking bar alrdy..... i wanna watch myself get fatter and drunk in the bar mirror.....

Its funny reading these reviews. This will be the easiest review for me to do on Yelp as I have been going to Georgio's for over 25 years. I now live in So Cal and to be honest the only thing I miss in the Bay Area are some of the local eateries and this one tops the list. I have eaten many items off the menu but 95% of the time I order Pizza and not just any pizza, a Georgio's Special!! So to everyone that has had a bad experience at Georgio's with screaming kids or garlic in their alfredo (oh no not that!!) I say stick with Pizza Hut!!!

Such a family-style neighborhood kind of restaurant! They've got delicious pizza and every pasta dish tastes homemade. My favorite pizza is meatball & onion - the toppings are super fresh, perfectly seasoned and the crust is the perfect chewy bread kind (not too thick, not too thin, a little crusty). Another must have is the sausage bread - unbelievable and unlike anything else you'd find elsewhere, besides the brothers' places, Frankie & Johnnie & Luigi's Too. It's the pizza crust rolled thin, then a slight layer of cheese and then slices of locally-made delicious Italian Sausage, all of which is rolled up and baked, before serving with marinara to dip in. Sooo great!

I like this place, don't go here nearly as often as I'd like. As a not, just called to make a reservation, and they only do call ahead reservations for parties of 8 or more. SO don't bother calling ahead to save a table for 2, even on a Friday night.

After reading the reviews and getting referred to eat here by a friend, I decided to eat here. We would have NEVER found this place in a million of years even though he lives five minutes away. From the outside I thought the place looked like a regular pizza parlor, I wasn't expecting it to look as nice in the inside. However, as we walked in I was like wow, this place looks pretty cozy and intimate. As I remembered, a fellow yelper said to order the four cheese pizza. Since I am a fan of CHEESE me and him ordered the four cheese pizza ( it's not called that on the menu though, but it's under vegetarian) with sausage and mushroom. I also decided to order the clam and oyster liguini with red sauce. Let me also mention that the bread was SO good! Its fresh, garlic, homemade and fantastic. I was also surprised that the clam pasta was also good. It was actually PERFECT. I was amazed because it almost tasted as good as maggianos! Like everything was cooked right, and they gave an adequate amount of clams which actually had big pieces of clam meat in the shells & oysters. Unlike other restaurants who give you shells with no meat inside!!! And let me get to the pizza... the first bite was heaven.!! I never had a pizza with so many types of cheese on it, but the cheese was blended so well!! I can't describe it, so you will have to order it for yourself to try =) By the way, the small was literally a large to us. After ordering the calamari, eating the homemade bread, and digging into the pasta, we were overwhelmed and only finished half of the pizza. This place actually serves the best italian food i've had in the south bay, and I will definitely be back to try the other pizzas!

On a little strip mall, its centered in the Willow Glen neighborhood. Its always crowded, so you know its good. The portions are filling, the Pasta Portifino (my favorite - Shrimp and Prawns Alfredo) is a great dish. Fattening but delicious. Caesar salad is ok. Its a little pricey but if you have a Passport card - buy one dish and get the other free! They have alot of good choices on the menu. Sometimes service can be so-so, espeically when its super busy.

I love this place, it has been at the same location since I was a kid (and my mom remembers it too growing up, so yea its been there a while!), and it still puts out some of the best pizza in San Jose if you ask me. There is always a good sized dinner crowd, so if you are looking to go with friends around dinner time I would suggest calling to see if making a reservation would be a good idea. They also serve your usual menu of great Italian food, but its all about the Pizza! I usually enjoy just calling in an order and bringing it back, parking can be a little crazy in the shopping center.

For a family looking for great basic Italian food with a friendly atmosphere, this is the place. Have only been 3 times, but I'm a fan of the chicken limone while my husband and son put away massive amounts of the cheese pizza.

I have been going to Giorgio's for over 20 years... love the food... and the service is usually good. However, yesterday on Mother's Day, my family went for dinner. We got there, put our names in and sat, they told us our wait time was 20 minutes. After 40 minutes and every single person who was there before and after us was seated... The assistant manager, Sarah, was playing hostess (bad idea), I said "excuse me", she ignored me, I said "excuse me" once again, she looked up at me with this bitter nasty look on her face, doesn't say "yes?", or "what can I do for you?", she just looked at me. I asked how much longer before they'd have a table for us (we were a party of 7), she said with a nasty tone "what's your NAME??", I gave her our name and stated (the obvious) that we were the ONLY people left on the list and the ONLY people in the waiting area.... She then said "we'll seat you soon" and walked away, never cracked a smile, never apologized for seating us 25 minutes later than she had quoted us.... she took us to our table, put the menus down and walked away, she was long gone before I even made it to the table. To me, going out to dinner is just as much about the service as it is the food. They do have good food, but so do a lot of other restaurants. I'd expect much more from the ASSISTANT MANAGER... how she got that position is beyond me! Apparently she never learned that kindness and a smile goes a long way... One other thing... my husband went to the restroom and said that there was feces smeared all over the toilet seat, paper towels and toilet paper all over the floor, garbage over-flowing... He said it was dirtier than any gas station bathroom he'd ever seen. Hopefully that's not an indication on how clean the kitchen is....

I've been going to Giorgio's since I was a kid (a friend's brother worked there and we would sometimes get the "mistake pizzas" at a discount). FABULOUS food. Really, I have yet to try anything from their extensive menu that hasn't been delicious. And it really is one of the best pizzas in town. Try the sauteed mushrooms, you won;t be disappointed.

I have been going to Giorgio's since i was little and have been going almost once a month since then. My last visit will be the last, i had the unfortunate run in with the so called Mgr. She's a not a tall lady, overweight and very unprofessional (so you can steer away from her) I came in with the $10 coupon with the purchase of $30 i had called in my order knowing this and spoke to the person i order my meal and came up to $28 something so i asked the employee to add something so i could redeem my coupon. came in and the so called Mgr. said she could not redeem my coupon, because it had to be before tax, my bill was $31 something so i approached her and politely ask her to redeem the coupon and that i had discussed this w/her employee on the phone she said "Im sorry can't" and walked away, not giving me the chance to speak. I then waited for her to come back up and told her i know that if she wanted to she could redeem the coupon that would be good customer service and again smirking she said "I'm sorry" and walked away..For a long time customer i feel that was totally inappropriate and unprofessional!! SO LONG GIORGIO'S I HAVE NOTICED OVER THE YRS THAT THEIR SERVICE HAS GONE DOWN HILL!

lunched here today and found it quaint & satisfying. i liken it to "pasta pomodoro" quality..only older and a tad bit more expensive. ambience: i loved that i could hear franky sinatra singing "my way" as i perused the menu. for some that could cheese up a joint, but for some reason it worked here. food: all good. basket of bread was warm when it came out. and had a tinge of garlic butter on top. starter salad w/italian was fresh and tasty (tomatoes were really ripe..nothing worse than mushy tomatoes.) the lasagna, which was GINORMOUS and ample enough to feed two, was excellent. the sauce bordered on chef boyardee-ey..but the cheese/meat filling was tasty and the noodles were cooked well. service: good. staff was friendly and service was prompt. would i go again: probs. i want to try the fantasy caesar salad (served with walnuts, artichokes & blue cheese) and the pizza. UPDATE: spaghetti w/meat sauce & meatballs was delicioso...as was the pesto chicken calzone! the crust on the calzone was perfect. not overly doughy or thick.

My husband and I love this place. The food is yummy! But! The service has been very shitty! I called in a pizza order once and they said 25-30 mins. Ok, so we got there a little early...we had to wait another 45 mins! OMG! The place was empty on an early Saturday afternoon. No excuse! I think it's a little weird how they show the customer the pizza too. What does it mean? When I order my baked salmon risotto, they don't open the top and show me. Its so gross when they open the pizza, and there a fat old man standing right next to us breathing on it...dropping his dander!! Another time six of us almost left with out paying. Our waiter disappeared! Yea! We thought he left for the night. All our plates were sitting in front of us empty and dirty. All we wanted to do is pay and get the hell out of there. Disappointingly the waiter did come back...and we paid. Oh! Another time...this was during graduation season. There was this big party in the back room, and they were so loud. My husband and I were seated at the very last table right outside this room. This party's children were yelling and fighting right next to us. I could have spat at them. I just sat and looked at them...giving the mother a disapproving look. She would pull the boy by the collar, but then continued with her conversation...as the children continued to beat each other one foot in front of us!

This was not our first time eating at Giorgio's we had gone several times before they remodeled. We went a couple of monthes ago for my Aunt's Birthday and it was horrible! We had to wait over 2 hours just to be seated and then another hour to get our food! The kids were so tired and getting out of control by that time. This evening we went again and there was no wait so we were seated right away. But had to wait over 1 hour for our Calzones ...thought it was strange cause when i ordered mine i asked to leave out the mushrooms and the waitress told me that the Calzones are already made ahead of time so I didnt know what took so long to get served! The food didnt even taste good and we had wished we had went to Tomatoe Thyme now that is the best Italian Resturant to go to and has awesome service and is all made when you order it! We will never go back to Giorgio's agian. It has gone downhill and is lousy food!!

My wife and I made the serendipitous find of this wonderful Italian restaurant. Although it sits in a cookie-cutter strip mall nestles in a quiet neighborhood, it provides very tasty food in a warm and friendly setting that's anything but ordinary. We had the Prawn with Alfredo Sauce and Stewed Lamb Shank. Both are highly flavorful and right-portioned. Prices are also just right. Our waitress was very friendly with big smiles...definitely made us feel welcome. We saw lots of folks ordered pizza that looked delicious; we'll definitely try it out on our next visit.

I was so torn on how to rate this place. Their food is sooo good and great for family meals. There are many mailer coupons and they even have 15% off coupons in the St. Christopher Church bulletins. But my last few experiences there have not been so good. I always order to-go, but the food hasn't been ready, the order wasn't correct, and I have to wait. It's a bummer since the food is so delicious.

This place has been around for years and it is one of the last true Italian joints. Before the 1990's you would find an Italian restaurant on every corner, oh the good ol days. Now San Jose is inundated with trashed up Mexican restaurants. Giorgio's will give you a good meal and a good rate. My only complaint about the food is the sauce, I think it is canned. I recommend this place because it is decent and good for kids, but it is the real only true Italian restaurant in the area.

One of my favoite places to eat Italian food. Parking was quite easy and there was barely any wait time for our table. My family and I ordered a few pizzas (y-u-m-m-y) and I ordered Penne Cabrese. Great family environment, although it was a bit loud.

We dined here for the first time since its renovation. A big disappointment to say the least. We waited 35 minutes for a seat with a full crowd of other patrons waiting just as long. Once we were seated, we noticed that the dining room was half EMPTY. They didn't have enough servers so they kept (and lost) good paying customers waiting. We ordered immediately and our entrees took 45 minutes to arrive at our table. The servers did their best to refill our drinks, bring bread, apologize, etc.... but once the entrees arrived my husband had to send his overcooked chicken back and requested a different dish. Our waitress informed us that the reason the kitchen was so backed up was that all take-out orders come first and the dining room has to wait.....WHAT? What kind of service is that? Our waitress was very good but even her competence could not overcome a poorly run kitchen and establishment. We will not be going back.

This place is very bad to go to on weekends I will never go here again they will put u in line but will take bigger groups first thinking they will make more money off them and leave you and your kids just waiting. Told 30 min and after they took 2 groups that came in after us and waited 40 mins I ask and was told they had to takes the bigger groups first. Suck there food is pretty good at fair price but after finding out they care less about the customers will not support this place

Where am I Redding, Little Rock, a geriatrics club? Oh, I'm in south San Jose waiting for my pasta at Giorgio's. I couldn't think of a place to have italian that wasn't Maggianos, disgusting or Spaghetti Factory. Drove by NIck's and it was closed. So we went here. Random, I know. Turned out to be decent. I started feeling like I was at lunch with my old coworkers and began feeling a little anxious so it was one of the quickest sit-down dinners I've had, even by my standards. If there is a next time it will be to go, too many children and bad memories of being lectured by HR folk about living in sin.

The food here is fantastic and the pizza is just super yummy!! I have never had a bad meal here. The bread is fresh and they add a small amount of garlic to the butter so its super yummy. The longest I have had to wait is about 15mins and its worth it. The staff is okay, I think that everyone has their own experience, but I have found that they are a little slow getting to your table to take your order, you don't get water refills that fast, and they don't promptly check in 1/3 into your meal to make sure you are okay. Also, waiting for your check takes awhile.... its worth it and again, that's just my opinion.

We ordered the calamari and fettucine alfredo with mushrooms (no chicken). Calamari was really good with a crispy outside and a not too chewy texture. Their house bread was nice and warm which hit the spot with their garlic butter... We asked for seconds... Margarita was sweet with a nice kick to it. Waitress was sweet enough to charge us the happy hour price for it even if we were 15 minutes late. Ambiance could either go as romantic or just your casual night out. Since this place is about a 5 minute walk from where we live (plus the food and service was great), we definitely will be coming back for more...

My boyfriend and I went to this place because we just started renting a house down the street and wanted to check out the eats in the local area. We checked out their menu online at first because I was in the mood for pasta not just pizza and wings or something. As soon as we walked in the place smelt amazing and I was presently surprised to see additional seating in the back. Long story short the food was Delicious! Bruschetta for an appetizer (bread was perfect). The boyfriend had the lasagna and I had the Chicken Parmesan. Cant wait to go back again and try something new!!

This is and has been my very favorite pizza for over 20 years! The best part is no matter what the economy is doing they haven't changed it one bit. They do a medium crust heavy on the cheese and meats which is hard to find. One-two slices is enough. Girogios also has pastas and a wait staff that have been consistently great for over 20 years. If you do a lot of take out pizza be sure to pick up one of their yellow stamp cards and get it stamped every time. Every 13th to go pizza is on them-no silly restrictions or anything.

what i ordered... frank's fiasco pizza awesome pizza... good thick crust w/ enough cheese, GREAT meat toppings and sauce was good too but it was thinly dispersed throughout the pie. complimentary fresh baked bread with whipped butter on the side was great too... :) ambiance... good(large dining room, clean restroom) service... great (host came by to check how's everything, the server refilled my drink and comp bread and was nice as well) cost... $$

Have eaten here a few times and am a fan of the food and friendly service. The one drawback I can think of is the place isn't big enough for the demand. There are people crammed into every inch of that place or at least that's how it seems. A great place to eat good food and service just a bit cramped.

I love Giorgios! My family has been coming here for my whole life. It's just down the road from our house and we can walk there. The wait is sometimes long, and the atmosphere is loud, but it's worth it for the great food and big portions!

My brother got his first job here 30 years ago. I can't believe they are still here. I have been coming here for that long, not as often as I like. The remodel makes it look brighter and cleaner. Good (American) Italian food, most known for their pizzas. My favorite app is their sausage bread with marinara and steamed clams. Kendall Jackson chard is a steal at $6 a glass (other places run ~$10). Kids loved their pizza and BF loved his veal marsala. We will have to return sooner than later.

Best Entree: Giorgio's Special Pizza - the best in town. Thin hand tossed crust, tasty homemade sausage, gooey mozzarella, loads of peperoni, linguica, real tomato sauce (not canned) Others to try: Crispy Calamari, Seafood Pizza - scallops, shrimp, garlic cream sauce, sooo good.

I had a long week and couldn't wait have to a glass of wine to wind down. I didn't feel like cooking dinner either or driving anywhere to get my food. Hmmm...where is there to go? I didn't feel like eating pizza (delivery). So, we decided to head to Giorgios for dinner. ...a pizzeria and pasta! :O) We had to wait for about fifteen minutes before we got seated. The restaurant had a family vibe to it. Yes, there were a lot of families eating with their kids. When we sat down at our table, the air condition was on and it was blowing on us. We asked the waitress to turn down the air condition and she gladly turned it off. The other table next to us said it was cold too. Enough about the ambiance; how about the food? Ok, we ordered two chardonnays and two different types of pasta. The entrees were a good size of pasta. They were delicious. Also, the warm garlic bread with butter before the pasta makes the meal worth coming back for. Overall, the bill didn't hurt our wallets either.

I was looking forward to the re-opening of Giorgio's the month. We've found their pizza to be the closest thing to Guido's which closed many years ago. Imagine my disapointment when I opened my pizza box and found a pizza that looked no better than anything I could have gotten from one of the chain pizza parlors. The dough looked rolled instead of tossed and wasn't as tasty as it had been prior to the remodel.

We live a few blocks away from this place. When we first moved here, 7 years ago, it was one of our go-to take out choices. Over the past two year, I don't know if management changed or what, but the prices went up, portions got smaller and the service declined greatly. The rare times we do order take-out, the order is always wrong, even after waiting over 30 min to pick it up. The take-out crew is never the same person twice and are generally clueless about the menu or how to key in the choices to ring up the order. I took my parents to eat-in a few weeks ago; they were from out of town. I ordered the salmon, which I've ordered many times. This time, it came flaked apart, over a thin white sauce and few veggies. Not the quality, seared fillet of salmon over a creamy sauce I've had before. Two stars only because our waitress was nice.

I've frequented this place on and off for the last 15 years or so, and they are a good and dependable standby. They are located in a discreet strip mall off of Foxworthy, and have a great neighborhood feel to it. Here are some comments - Sausage Bread - MMMMM Calamari Fritti - OK, could be crispier, still good, and would never turn it down! Chicken Limone - moist, light, and garlicky Veal Scallopini Marsala - I love the demi-glaze, and gotta love mushrooms. They don't over-cook it, and is also very tender. I have tried their Chicken & Sausage Cannelloni, which is tube-shaped pasta stuffed with ricotta, chicken, and sausage, however, since they used their shredded chicken and mix it with Italian sausage, it doesn't seem as moist and tasty as the chicken cannelloni at Mio Vicino, which uses ground chicken - though it is still OK here. They are really good about special requests, such as when I ask for extra vegetables with the entree (instead of the side of pasta). They used to make a pasta dish with olive oil, broccoli, bacon, and pine nuts (aglio oligo), which was my favorite, and the bummer is that they don't make it anymore! :-( Even though their quality/service seems just OK, I still give 'em four stars.

Been going here for years and always enjoyed the food. I suggested Giorgios to some friends as we were picking a place to have lunch together. Boy was I embarrassed I had recommended it. I asked for separate checks as I was paying with my CC and I rec'd an awkward look, as if it was too inconvienent. Then we were told we couldn't use 2 coupons at one table, even though its not printed on the coupon. Getting our food was SO slow and when the food came it was BAD. We ordered 3 pasta dishes and a paninni. All the pasta dishes were undercooked by varying degrees and my boyfriends panini was not grilled and completely soggy. We choked down our meals cause we had already waited 30 minutes for our food to arrive when the place was not even close to being crowded. I did let the server know what was up and he sent the mgr over. She wasn't extremely apologetic but got the worst pasta dish replaced and took it off my friends bill as well as the panini off our bill. The best part of our meal was the company of our friends, other than that it was a waste of time and money. I won't be back, I'd rather go to Spaghetti Factory then come back to Giorgio's. ps- Zero stars if I could!

Giorgio's is awesome! I've been going to this restaurant since I was little and the food never fails me. The prices are very reasonable for San Jose, and anyone who says different is ridiculous (they've probably been eating at olive garden). My favorite dish is the mostaccioli di bari. Penne pasta with cream sauce sauteed mushrooms and chunks of filet mignon? YES PLEASE! Please tell me a place you can get a pasta with filet mignon for less that $14? Yeah, I didn't think so. This place is awesome, too bad it's closed right now due to remodeling but we're excited for it's reopening in October!!!!

I went here onnew years eve. The place was packed. The place is like a little jewel in willow glen. It seems like There are a lot of regulars that support the place. A traditional family owned joint? I had the linguini with clams and mussels cooked in their natural juices. Let's just say that I had better at pasta pomodoro. It needed a lot of seasoning to make it taste like something. The bread and butter that they give put is wonderful. Ibelieve the garlicbutter is homemade. The service was great. Nice people. Refilled constantly. My dish just was ok. That's that.

Went here for lunch with some co-workers. Food was ok... service was NOT. They must cherish their bread here... we had to ask our server three times for extra bread. They claimed it needed to be made but yet others around us were getting bread. I won't be going back... I'll stick to Pasta Pomodoro for anymore lunch trips.

This place came highly recommended by none other than my dear 'ol papa, he's half Italian so I've gotten trust his a little bit, right? Well, the place was not even operating at half mast when we were there. Waitress was not attentive, first off, not a big deal normally if the food was amazing, which it wasn't. Calamari was given rave reviews by our humorless server, then came out cold and rubbery. Everyones meals were decent, but not all that great. Food 3 out of 5, service 1.5, ambience 3 out of 5. Wouldn't go back, esp. since great Italian food and pizza isn't hard to find in SJ. This was one of only 2 or 3 poor restaurant experiences I have a year......normally my family isn't hard to please.

I LOVE GIORGIO'S My family and I have been ordering their pizza for takeout as long as I can remember. My dad refuses to eat any other pizza, and they have these great coupons that are buy ten to go pizza's and get one free, which may take a while for a one- pizza family, but my giant family gets two pizza's at a time, so it goes a bit faster. I have only eaten in the restaurant once or twice, so I cant comment on the service or atmosphere, but the food is amazing. Get the pizza, just do it!

Wow, great pizza! We had the Tomato Basil Mats Pizza and it was heaven on a plate, the crust was absolutely perfect with just the right amount of chew. The Salmon with Risotto was one of the best I've had, they know how to cook here! The service was outstanding, friendly, yet professional and very very attentive even though we were only three. It was extremely busy there, but the staff was attentive to everyone and all I saw were smiles from the staff and customers alike. We will be coming back very very soon.

Having eaten here once or twice, I decided to put in a phone order one night. This was a year or two ago. The lady on the phone wasn't very helpful in helping me order. I just wanted a ravioli dinner for 2 people. When I got down there I was handed 1 meal, a gallon bucket of Ravioli, and a bill for $60. Confound it, I'll just be a regular at some other Italian restaurant.

Simply the best pizza. I have been going to Giorgio's for twenty years and I hope to go the day i die. For work, I spent two years commuting from San Jose, CA to San Antonio, TX and I would stop in on my way to SJC. I put the pizza past security and took it with me. I would have gladly allowed TSA to search me due to this unique carry-on. One time I was seated in First class with an empty seat next to me and....yes the pizza flew first class. Always to questions of "where did you get that?" and "it smells great"

I ordered their gluten free pasta. My daughters food came out and I was told mine would be just a few more minutes for the pasta. About 10 mins later I was told just a few more minutes (generally it takes only 9 minutes to cook GF pasta). I had to go so after waiting 20 more minutes after the initial "just a few more minutes" I walked out with food in hand. I sat down to eat it and the pasta was BARELY cooked! Since I was out, I had no access to a kitchen for dinner and decided to eat it anyways...big mistake! It tasted horrible and I quickly got a stomach ache. Don't try their gluten free pizza either - the sauce, cheese and pepperoni are very bland.

I have great memories of this place! Great food - family style! The first time I went there was 1975 for a bday party. It was my first Pizza experience which then - a piece weighed about 17 lbs. In 1995, I took my girlfriend (now wife) and dropped the L word for the first time. Now I take my family there - but also purchase the pizza dough and then make pizza's at home with my three kids.

This is only my second time at Giorgio's, even though we live very close by. The first time we went, I remember that everyone in my party was really hungry and we waited a long time to be seated and to get our food. That was a Thursday night, when the line was out the door. At that time, the food wasn't good enough to override the bad memory of starving to death while waiting for a pizza (with small children and my in-laws). This time, on a Sunday night, there was no wait and our waitress was very friendly and pleasant. However, the food was still very, very slow to arrive. I thought maybe that was because we had a semi-large party of 6, but most tables had a similar number. The atmosphere was nice, though a little loud. I ordered manicotti and my husband ordered cannelloni. I thought the portion size was perfect. Not too big, but plenty. The meal was served with super delicious bread and butter. I had a side of unremarkable but perfectly edible spinach with my manicotti. The manicotti itself was very good. My husband had a side of zucchini, which he normally doesn't love, but he said it was great. However, he thought the cannelloni was not out of this world. Tasty, but not more tasty than the Olive Garden or a similar chain restaurant. The children's menu was great - good variety and my kids liked their entrees (pizza and chicken strips). My wine and my husband's beer were not as cold as we were expecting. They were almost a little warm (white wine and Sierra Nevada). Of course, that night was 90 degrees in San Jose, so maybe the drinks were having trouble staying cold in that heat. Overall, a fun place to eat with good food and a great waitress, but a little slow with the food.

MMM MMM MMMM!!! This place is a neighborhood favorite of mine and I always make sure to make a quick stop here when I'm visiting the folks. I'm Paraguayan.. and we're known to be big bread (well.. anything with carbs) whores. Their bread alone would make me keep coming back. I digress. The wait staff is always nice and cheerful and on a busy weekend night they're always very accommodating. Their ravis are amazing. I mean really can you ever go wrong with that? The pizza is good most of the time however my last time there it tasted a little soggy. I love their cal zones too! MMmmmMM! And they always have great desserts.

I've been going to Giorgio's for years and years now and always have a great experience. I would have to describe Giorgio's cuisine as Italian comfort food. Everyone is always really friendly there and the atmosphere is also really cozy with the classic white and red checkered table cloths, a lively crowd, and an extensive menu. The bread they serve before your meal is also really yummy. It is hot and fresh with a cream cheese spread. The menu includes a great selection of pizzas, pasta, calzones, and other specialty entrees like chicken parmiagana, sometimes a fish dish, and osso bucco. The last time I was there I had the the salmon with risotto with artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomatoes. The great thing about their food is that it is so simple, but so tasty! And the amount of baked salmon they gave was very generous. Their specialty entrees (unfortunately not their pasta dishes) come with a choice of soup and salad. I really appreciate when restaurants offer this little extra something with their meals. It's a great place for families and for a romantic casual date. Lastly, their Thursday (or was it Tuesday?) night special dinner for a family of four is a great, tasty value. It comes with salad, spaghetti, and a BBQ chicken.. can't remember if it came with anything else... for $50 if I recall that right. My family ordered it once and it was definitely a challenge to sit there and try to finish everything.

What happen! We been going to Giorgios for the last 5 years and always enjoyed the service and grinds. We been there 2-3 time since the remodeling, all is good. Except for last night, we decided to just have our favorite pizza - Franks Fiasco, soup, spinach salad and saute mushrooms. I think they changed the chef or something, the pizza sauce taste more on the tomato soup side now and the saute mushrooms had a watered down garlic sauce, not creamy to dip[ your bread into. The soup bowl was served in a flat, low profile bowl that seems lite there was only a one cup portion. Disappointed with our local italiano diner. It turns that waiting for 1/2 hour wasn't worth it. Bummer.

Giorgio's in San Jose (Willow Glen) has the feel of neighborhood restaurant. I used to periodically frequent the one in Milpitas but became disappointed in the food and service there so stopped going. However I am glad my wife and I started going to the one in San Jose. The services is great including the wait staff and bus staff but especially Brian, the manager, who makes it a point to always welcome us by our first names (and jokes with us when we haven't been in for a little while). The calzones (my personal favorite), pastas, parmigiana, pizzas, etc. are always fresh, flavorful and generous portions. The hot bread is to die for. They also have a full bar (and great happy hour specials). Also a couple of times mistakes where made they staff (especially Brian) go out of their way to make the customer happy and more importantly make sure it doesn't happen again. Giorgio's can get busy but it is worth the way. I can definitely highly recommend Giorgio's in Willow Glen!

My whole family has been coming here since before I was born. I LOVE this place. Their bread makes you crave more and their pizza is scrumptious. I love this place and their food. The staff is always great, and theye always clean. Date and Family nights/evenings you may find yourself hard pressed to get a table quickly so I suggest you make a reservation if youre in a party of more than 2.

I came here a couple of months ago with my boyfriend; I would've given this place four stars then..maybe we just made better food choices, but the food was definitely better then. This review is for last night, when I came with a big group of people. The bread was delicious, and the service was good. However, all the food was gross, and took forever to come! My friend got chicken alfredo; it was too dry and had no taste. She could only eat a few bites and she didn't want the rest. I got the shrimp fettuccine alfredo. Definitely better than the chicken alfredo, but still was a bit too dry..I also wish they had some veggies. The pizzas were not very good either. Overall, the only thing we liked about this place was the bread. If you still want Giorgio's, the one in Milpitas is great!

The food is seriously sub par. Not fresh, greasy, gross. This is not the first time it has been like this, but this is the first time I have said it. Service was beyond bad. Go somewhere else for Italian food. Save yourself a bad food experience.

Let me start by saying this was not my first visit to Georgio's. The five of us arrived and were told there would be a 40 minutes wait, ok it's Friday night, no problem. After 50 minutes we asked about a table they told us 15 more minutes, after 20 minutes they said 6 or 7 more minutes, and finally we were seated after 90 minutes wait. The problem continued when the five of us ADULTS were sat at a fourtop -- we didn't fit and had to ask the "Manager" for another table. We finally got a table and ordered. The antipasto plate was good, bread was good, our salads were served and had no taste, ok it was salad. Two of us ordered the Veal Parm and it was burned and tough. We sent it back. I opted to share one of my friend's extra pizza and the other person ate the rest of her partner's dinner rather than waiting for more food to be prepared for us. One at our table had pasta with filet of beef in it, so touch you couldn't eat the beef. All of us ordered dessert which was all very unmemorable and barely edible. The bill finally arrived and it was incorrect, after finally getting an accurate bill, we paid and left after over 3 hours of misery. Georgio's used to be good, always relaiable, but on this night I would give them no starts if possible here. I wouldn't wait a minute for a table again.

Giorgio's doesn't need any points from me, they are doing very well for themselves thank you having been in the same location since Kennedy was president. But they sure are getting a lot of negative reviews here on yelp. I'm very surprised. We used to go to Giorgio's all the time when I was a kid because kids love, love, love pizza. And I'm still a big kid. So when we decided to return after many years, I didn't really know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. We got the cioppino and then split it by two so the high (19.95) price of cioppino was cut in half. They had lots of chewy bits of crab and clams, plus a bottom of a bowl full of fresh pasta. The portions were so large that we still had to take half of it home for the next day. I will never get anything with crab again because I cut my hands all up trying to get it open. And for such little reward too. My fingers were actually bleeding, no lie. Not only were the portions big but we got a nice salad and bread beforehand so by the time the main course came, we were pretty much topped off. The place was packed with people of all ages and races but even so, we had great service. The waitress was attentive, she kept coming back to see how we were doing. I got a decaf coffee. Yes I get decaff at almost every meal and it was very good and was being filled up all the time too. Major points for that. Also, even though they were staring at our table because there was a line out the door, they never made us feel rushed. And because of that, I will be going back soon and getting their speciality, the "Special Pizza" It is also not cheap but I hear it is fantastic.

Why did you change Giorgio's? You used to be a favorite of mine. You used to be one of the best places to go for pizza in town. I used to day dream about your garlic bread with melted mozzarella on top... but no more... (sniff sniff)... no more. I remember their pizza and all their items being fresh and hot and fabulous. So when I was talking to my boyfriend and he mentioned not liking their pizza, saying that he thought that it was a greasy mess, and he can't imagine me having liked it, I thought he was talking crazy talk. How could anyone not like Giorgio's pizza! So for lunch one day I got a small (yeah... it's not very small) Frank's fiasco as this was always my favorite pizza of theirs. And it was horrible! The grease had gone all the way through the box! When you picked up a slice, it literally turned to mush in your hands. What the crap! I feel lied to... this is not the pizza that I know and love. I took a bite, couldn't handle it, and put it in the break room at work where anything, even the most vial of substances will be eaten and prayed that at least my money would not be wasted. I also got their garlic bread with mozzarella on it, and this too was a sad sad version of what it once was. Where it used to be fresh made garlic bread, this seemed more like Albertson's ready made crap. I cried a little inside, and also put the extra bits of this in the break room to be devoured by scavengers. I was going to give you an 2 stars for nostalgia and in the hopes that I have the guts to go in the restaurant and have a more enjoyable sit down experience, but because there was enough grease on the pizza that it could be considered as an extra topping, and the amount of money you charge for your heart attack on a plate, only one star for you.

I've been coming here since I was a wittle kid! It's not the best Italian food in town, but it's good. We went there last night and we got in right away cuz we got there at almost 9:00 p.m. They remodeled a bit. They have a new bar and big flat screen TV's now. Ok ,so I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and my husband ordered a burger. For being so late in the evening, it took a good 30 minutes for them to bring our food to the table. I told my husband, how can this be, the place is not that full. I did notice people coming in and out picking up to go orders. Perhaps they're spending more time preparing the to go orders first. Didn't get it! Our waitress was sweet though. Any who...the food was good. I do however, prefer the spaghetti and meatball's at Tomato Thyme down the street.! Tomato Thyme's dish is piping hot and the meatballs are plump and round and their sauce is delicious! Giorgio's dish was luke warm and the meatballs were sloppy and not really round and they were falling apart. The sauce was good/fair. My husband enjoyed his burger. Overal a good place to take the family and the food is fair to good so don't expect much but you'll have a good time!

We came here Sat. evening ~8:30-8:45pm time: Restaurant didn't seem busy, we were seated within a couple minutes. I have to say that as a long time patron of this establishment (10+ years) the food quality and service has really gone downhill since they shutdown to expand and remodel. It took what seemed like forever for someone to come to our table after being seated: - Brought a bottle of wine which was a major issue to finally get opened and we were being charged a corkage fee. - Bread serving took forever though it finally came fresh & hot. - Two entrees from the menu took ~30 minutes to finally arrive and as mentioned the quality of the food has gone substantially downhill. One of the orders, FRUTTI DI MARE which normally comes with a fair amount of seafood contained hardly any: a prawn, 2 small clams and mainly vegetables and Linguini. Had we not waited 30 minutes for the orders to arrive I would have sent it back. After many years as a patron I'm hard pressed to return here. Fratello's Ristorante which is just up the street on Meridian Ave. provides night and day food quality in comparison. It's a small restaurant so on a busy night expect some wait but it's more worth it than with Giorgio's.

Me and my family come here at least once a month. We always order the family style meal and let me tell you it is a crazy amount of food! This place a very family oriented or good for a date night. The menu also has a great amount of italian food variety. If you haven't tried it order the Quatro Pizza, OMG it is sssssssssssssssssooooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!

We've eaten there a couple times now and tried at the pizza, pasta, entree salad and a sandwich. The pizza is just ok, and everything else is sub par. The pasta is overcooked...approaching soggy. The sauces lack flavor. The salads are not made with good greens. The Italian grinder is on some sort of home made pizza bread, not a real roll. It also has very little meat on it.

I was very impressed to receive an email response within 3 days of my review from the owner of the restaurant chain, addressing each and every issue with our experience. Right down to giving his phone number. It's great to see a restaurant owner using this great tool that is Yelp. The results are good for everybody involved. I am confident that John D will make whatever changes are needed. After all, he's been doing this for over 30 years now. We're going to give them a go again soon!

Ive gone here a few times and was pretty content with the service and food that was brought out. I had low expectations since i hated the Franky, Johnny and Luigi's in Saratoga and they are owned by the same people. (On a positive note the Franky, Johnny and Luigi's in Mt View is SOOO much better) I went with my boyfriend for lunch and was surprised to see that they had good customer service and the food was comparable to the one in Mountain View. I was pretty happy and was glad to see that i really don't have to go all the way to Mountain View for my lasagna fix. I can just go and get a quick bite to eat :)

Outstanding. We had a coupon for lunch, but it would have been magnificent at twice the price. Shrimp bisque was fresh, hot, chunky, creamy and just terrific. Italian sausage sandwich was as good as I've had. So huge half of it had to make the trip in the styrofoam coffin. My wife's Caesar salad was crisp, tasty and huge. We used to get take-out pizza here when the kids were at home, but now it's a dynamite place for lunch.

Ordered the roasted chicken special (Thursdays) and it was so dry it was inedible. When the waitress came back I told her and she offered another but then said that another customer had said the same thing so why would I want more of the same? Then they offered a dessert to us instead and none of them looked appetizing. In the end they did not even take the meal off the check as any normal restaurant should have. I could have pushed but I was fairly disgusted and just wanted to get out of there. I have had the Veal Parmesan in the past burned on both occasions and as a result did not come back for years. This last experience was just that, the last try. Skip it!

I love the chicken Parmesan here. They don't bread it so it's light and non greasy. Sausage bread is so interesting yummy with the marinara sauce. The service is either outstanding or horrible. This place also has great pizza -- real pizza not cardboard like. Also they do take out which is awesome. They also have really good family meals if you can all agree on what to eat - try the continental dressing on the salad.

New face, good food, BAD service. Recently Giorgio's had a face lift- Bigger lobby and take out counter, and a full open bar. It's defnintely a nice look to a restaurant that has been around for a while. The restaurant re-opened on Friday (10/15), and there has been a change to their computer system for ordering as well as new waitstaff. A few seasoned employees are still there, however, in the years that my fiance and I have gone to Giorgio's we have never had an experience like the one we had last nite, which is why the NEGATIVE experience was a surprise. When we arrived at the restaurant, we walked up to the take out counter (as specified) and waited for the waitstaff designated to the counter. After about 5 minutes or so of waiting, and watching a line of servers at the kitchen window waiting to run their food, and at least 3 servers putting to-go orders together. Not one person running food, doing to-go orders, or even the hostess' at the counter asked if we've been helped. One waiter even passed us twice, said "hi", ran his food, came back to see us still standing there. We finally decided to make our way back to the hostess stand to see if maybe the person there could help us, and at least take our order, but instead she walked us back over to the to-go counter and said, "one of the wait staff can help you." We finally got our order in as the waiter that had seen us now 3 times, decided to take our order- and he wasn't even working that station. Once the order went in, (pizza and shrimp fettucini), it took 45 minutes for us to receive our order. Ultimately, the food was delicious, however, it was very off putting, to know that at a customer-friendly restaurant, with quality food for a decent price, gets a new make over but does not maintain quality service. There is definitely room for improvement in the area of awareness and customer service. It doesn't matter if you are starting the nite end close process to the restaurant, what matters is the restaurant is still open for business, the restaurant is still packed with guests, and customers should at least be acknowleged in the few minutes of entry. I will definitely return for the great food, and hope that there is a change to service.

Update--tried it again last Friday. My husband's pizza was raw. We sent it back and all they did was reheat it! My filet medallions were so so, not the best cut of meat I have ever had in the world, however, the mushroom sauce was good. They also would not take our passport card for the pizza as an entree, we had to use it for an 8.00 appetizer. We don't be going back again.

The sausage bread is to die for! Just get it! Eat the bread! 1st time here......got into town were starving. Driving around and decided to just stop. Glad we did. Everything we ordered (and this was a lot because my husband thought he could eat 3 main courses.....of course he took home lots of leftovers). Food & Service were very nice. It is busy and lots of family/groups/kids but still well worth it.

Giorgio's is somewhat of an institution in San Jose. People travel from all over the city to indulge in their pizzas and pastas. Usually when I'm in town we'll eat here at least once, simply for tradition's sake, so I figured it's about time to write a review. This past visit I showed up with my family around 6pm on a Friday and the place was already busy. Luckily, we were seated right away at a big four-seater in the middle of the room. We were immediately given our addicting table bread and water. Our server was (as always) very friendly and had tons of patience while we all studied the huge Italian menu. Finally, I decided to go with the tried and true -- make your own calzone. This time I got salami, pepperoni, black olives, tomato, and artichoke hearts. All the calzones include a side salad, which to a lot of restaurants could be considered an entree on its own! The small cluster of kidney beans is a nice touch, too! Once we finished our salads our entrees were out shortly after. My calzone was big and stuffed with the fresh ingredients of my choice. I was particular happy with the enormous amount of black olives inside (my favorite!). The calzone was so filling I was only able to finish half of it. But cold calzone leftovers in the morning is just as wonderful as pizza! Even though we were all stuffed, we still figured it would be best to order the devilish chocolate lava cake and vanilla ice cream. The cake was moist and fluffy and the chocolatey lava inside was amazing! The pirouette straw great too! If you're in the mood for tasty family-style Italian food in the Willow Glen area, Giorgio's is your best bet! Get there early though as they get very busy for dinner and the huge shopping center parking lot fills up fast!

Well our rating for Giorgio's just dropped substantially. Their buy 10 pizzas and the next one is free sounded nice. As we purchased #10 a few weeks ago the worker stamped the card and reminded us our next one was free. We went to use this card today and they tried to refuse us saying their clerk hadn't initialed in one of the stamps. OK not our fault at all. The worker pulled the manager and he said the same thing. Total bs! Finally after my husband got really irritated the guy says it's his fault and he'll honor it. Really? Was it worth making such a big deal over and saying we were cheating? We aren't like that at all. Very disappointed

I wish I had something funny or clever to say about this experience, but it was bad, just bad. After an hour and a half, I left without having eaten anything because my order (a vegetarian calzone hold the zucchini) was made wrong twice. 45 minutes after we ordered and every table around us who arrived long after we did had eaten, our lunch was nowhere to be found. I walked around to ask someone, anyone, where our food might be and was finally told that my calzone was made with the wrong filling and was being re-made. When it arrived at the table 15 minutes later, it was made with artichoke hearts which weren't on the menu, which I didn't order, and which made the crust soggy. (There is even a note on the menu about not adding additional ingredients because they make the crust soggy.) My husband was served a calzone which had been sitting waiting while my new one was prepared and baked so his calzone was also mushy. I asked to speak to the manager (and had to wait 15 minutes for her to come to the table) who took my uneaten calzone off the bill and offered me a $12.50 food credit for my next trip to the restaurant. I told her that after spending 90 minutes waiting, having the wrong food made twice, and leaving without having eaten, I was surprised that offering a food credit while expecting us to pay in full for the rest of our meal was her proposed solution. After thinking about it, she agreed to discount some other items also, but it seemed like she had been directed not to comp any food regardless of the circumstances. Giorgio's problems that day were not limited to my wayward calzones. As we were leaving, the woman at the table behind us flagged down the server to complain about her pizza. I overheard her say, "Did someone just throw the olives on here at the end? Because they aren't cooked--at all."

Came here the other night with a group of friends for dinner and I doubt I'll be back again. It was an early dinner...6pm on Friday night. Once we sat down our server came over a few mins later and immediately asked if we were ready to order entrees. Nothing about drinks or appetizers. I'd expect that at your pho and Asian places where they just stand at your table awkwardly til your ready, but not here. After we put our order in, it took about an hour and fifteen minutes before food came to our table. When the food did come it was obvious that it had been sitting under a heat lamp for sometime. Pasta sauces were glazed, and my friends ravioli's were cold, not even room temp. The server just never brought them out. Not one dish was hot. We didn't bother complaining because God knows how long it would have taken to get replacements out to us. Our server was super inattentive and usually no-where to be seen so we couldn't even flag her down. Who knows where she was or what she was doing except for obviously not bring out our food. Tables around us were having the same issues. I wouldn't waste my time here again, there was nothing special about the food that you wouldn't be able to get at another Italian place.

Wish I could give it a big fat 0. I knew it was going to be bad the minute I walked in the door. No greeting. Not even I'll be with you in a moment. We were seated. Waited. Waited. And waited some more. When you are hungry, every second is an eternity. Just over 5 minutes my fiancé decided to leave. No one ever came over to greet us or to say we will be right with you. Save your money, time and go elsewhere. Such a shame. They need Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible to whip them in shape.

Ohmygoodness, how did I not know about this place?? My brother in law brought some food from this place for our thankgiving dinner and it was pretty good, so we decided to go there for lunch one day. Yum! Big portions and all their food was yummy. Ok so their bread and garlic+butter dip is just addicting. You can't just have one. My mom asked for an extra basket of it to bring back home haha. I ordered the salmon pasta (pictured) and it was full of the creamy Alfredo flavor. The pasta was cooked al dente and the seasoning they cooked the salmon with paired really well with the sauce. All the tomato bits and spices all went really well together. If you get this, prepared to be stuffed! They have a kids menu (yay)! I ordered the Mac and cheese + apple juice for the little guy and he ate almost half! Hubby ordered the meatball sandwich and he was delighted (and he's hard to please too!) Service was excellent. We will definitely be back!

Just left this restaurant. Sat down with my fiancé and waited more than 5 minutes to be greeted. Place was not too busy. We ended up leaving. Just as we did, the waiter came over with bread. He was shocked when I said we were leaving. Told the hostess and she seems surprised. Ended up going next door and having some really good Chinese food. This establishment needs to train their wait staff. So unprofessional. Won't go back.

Due to the good reviews, I have wanted to eat here and finally got a chance to do so. Right away, I just love the soft, warm bread with creamy garlic butter. Then the minestrone soup that my wife had and the clam chowder that I had was excellent. For the entree, I had the veal scaloppine and my wife had chicken Marsala, both quite good. The service was attentive and quick enough too. Next time, I want to try a tomato based pasta dish. The only minor gripe is that for a large restaurant, each restroom can only accommodate one person at a time.

I came to GIORGIO'S, for luncheon with my Silver Sneakers friends. Great Time with Great Food. Tried their Daily Special Rosemary Chicken with Rossoito. I RECOMMEND This Menu Item. I Like the presentation and the lite smell of Rosemary. Their coffee was just right for me even though I did not have expresso. I come to GIORGIO'S for good Italian, love that is still family owned and operated. The aroma outside make you want to go inside and enjoy something off the menu. A San Jose Tradition.

Went on a recommendation by a co-worker. So glad we went and enjoyed really good Italian cuisine. Sat nite walked in with a party of 12 and was seated in less than 10 mins. Heck Yeah!Score! Browsing the menu, there was something for everyone. Most importantly, there was something for my kids to eat.(Kids Menus usually consist of reheated garbage. NO THANK YOU) Then for the older family members, something light, nothing too heavy for the stomach, Done! Everyone got what they wanted. The food was superb, the wait staff was on point! Outstanding!

Been coming here for over 40 years - what happened? Went with my husband and mom last night for dinner - 30 minute wait - we expected that. What we didn't expect was to wait for 10 minutes for someone to take our order once we sat down. No busboy to offer water, no one to say "We'll be with you in a minute," (we had to flag down our waitress,) We placed our order, no apps, no salads - and it took 50 minutes for it to arrive (after the waitress told us at 20 minutes and 40 minutes that it would be "Just a minute.") We saw at least three tables around us get seated, place their order, get their food, and pay their bill in the time it took us to place our order and get our food. When we finally got our order, my husband asked what the hold up had been (this was after searching the place for our waitress or the manager to find out what the heck was going on.) The waitress explained that someone had accidentally taken my mom's sandwich, so they had to put the order in again. The problem - they kept our orders warming that whole time. My cannelloni was fine, but my husband's caccatori was completely dried out. If a mistake is made, come to our table and tell us. Comp us a dish. (Not the whole meal. Just the thing you messed up on.) Let us decide what we want to do. We would have cancelled the order and my mom and I would have shared so we could eat in a decent amount of time. We're reasonable people - most people are. We understand mistakes. But don't avoid eye contact and not explain what the hold up is. They offered us dessert. But you could tell that the manager wanted nothing to do with us. He just wanted us to go away. Love their pizza, the cannelloni was great, but the service made us not have such a great experience. The last time we were there the service was very slow as well. It makes me sad. This place was a part of my childhood.

Hands down one of the best Italian places in San Jose. This place is so well hidden, only the locals come here. I was introduced by a coworker a few years ago, and I havent stopped loving this place. You can bring the whole family; the kids love watching the Chefs throw the pizza dough up in the air and create pies. I Recommend the Pepperoni pizza (of course) and the Ravioli's! Some of the best I've ever eaten!

A friend and I had dinner there again last week. We ordered one pasta and one salad and shared both, we are light eaters. The salad had plenty of the extra vegies listed on the menu, and was enough for two persons. The spaghetti with meat sauce was delicious and plentiful. The bill was very reasonably priced. We love that place, and go back often.

Came here last night for a dinner date and I was a little disappointed by the food and the service. I have been coming here for years with family and it has always been great. We waited forever to get sat, the hosts seemed to be overwhelmed. Sat on the patio and we were greeted right away and we got water. Our meals came with a soup or salad and those came out quickly, but it felt like we were waiting for our food for a longggggg time. You know when you're hungry one minute feels like an hour. Our salad and soup plates sat empty for a good almost 10 minutes before we even got checked on. Finally she came out and said the food would be there shortly. I ordered the chicken parmesan and it was not tender and pretty flavorless. My date got the lamb osso bucco which she enjoyed. Just not a good experience this time around, I don't know what was different :/

Came here for lunch today and man oh man was I blown away. I have been to the milpitas location a few times and not once has the food or service been anything to remember- assuming that this place would be the same, I wasn't expecting too much. Quick service and very very attentive server. The menu is pretty extensive so it took me a minute to figure out what I was going to order. The Mostacioli Di Bari caught my eye so I ended up ordering that. Who can pass up on fiLet mignon with mushrooms cooked in a creamy Gorgonzola Brandy sauce poured over penne pasta? The complimentary garlicky house bread came out piping hot and came in handy for sopping up my pasta sauce- YUM!! I'll definitely be back to try a few other dishes... Esp to try the sausage bread that other yelpers rave about.

Not good. Chicken appetizer was burned strips of chicken with no seasoning and were bitter. Gnocchi was store-bought swimming and store-bought pesto. Paper menu was stained and disgusting to even hold. Probably one of the worse meal i have had in LG in last 8 years. Not sure what the draw is to this restaurant. So many better places downtown. Very disappointing.

Service is friendly and quick. Crab cake appetizer was odd, definitely not their specialty Had the warm spinach salad with added chicken, it had gorgonzola, tasty walnuts and bacon. The children's pasta was very bland and my daughter did not like it. (She's not a picky eater) Overall, a pretty good place with comfortable seating.

They told us 25 minute wait it was only 15 minutes and we were seated. The Food was great! I have eaten at FJ&L in Mountain View, and enjoyed, this was first time here and it was Awesome! Edgar our waiter was very good and we never needed anything. We sat on patio and the service was excellent. I will be back to try the Happy Hour Items.

Where to begin? Well, I first came here around 8 months ago and really enjoyed it. I had been planning to bring my girlfriend here and finally decided to do so today. And wow, do I regret it. I'm not sure if they changed chef or something, but it took forever for our entree to arrive. But let's go back a little, the appetizer (crab cakes) were mediocre 4/10 and only two of them. Our waitress Shelby was not enthusiastic and spoke really low. Across the patio I saw a mother and her three children being served by a very enthusiastic waiter who went out of his way to bring them extra treats like a bowl of cherries. Back to the entree, the family across the patio showed up after us and still received all of their food before us. I ordered the Cannelloni which was another mistake, a dry crusted cheese layer which looked microwaved, and of course touching the plate which was very hot confirmed that my food was microwaved. Touching the pasta roll, it felt hard, taking a bite it was awful. Almost no flavor to it, very dry and I simply could not continue eating it. My girlfriend ordered the chicken parmigiana which of course was nuked (microwaved as well) and the texture of the chicken was rubbery. Cutting into the chicken was tough; after letting our waitress know about the food she contacted the manager. Of course, offering to get us another place I declined without making a scene. Only having to pay for drinks and an appetizer, I thank God for discounting the $30.45 for the nuked food. Never again am I going back to this place.

If you're ever craving Italian, Giorgio's is your local family style restaurant. Great pizza and pasta, but their sourdough rolls with garlic herb butter is what gets me every time. Note: If you ever get take out and request extra bread, you will be charged. Although not a lot of $, can't believe there's a fee. Double check your bag before you leave cause they've been 2 for 2 for not including it.

Came here for my moms birthday & left very disappointed. We usually go to the location in Milpitas ,CA and we always have a great time there. Although this location is truly the opposite. It took us over 3 hours from start to finish to get our meals & leave. The assistant manager is a guy w/ a real sarcastic attitude and wasn't helpful at all. The waiter checked on us only once throughout the whole night : ( I would highly recommend driving a little farther to the other location(Milpitas) in order to get the service you deserve.

We used to come here as a group a lot, but one member of our group mentioned feeling ill after the last visit. Overall the staff is very friendly and we get the service like we used to get at the Campbell's Frankie, Johnnie & Luigi's Too, which used to be our favorite spot until they closed. We came here for the anniversary meal and waited in a long, long line to get amazing prices on regular menu items. Despite the long wait, the food was great and the wait staff was fast. Only issue I had was the beer glasses, which smelled like sanitizing fluid and affected to taste of the beer (we ordered pitchers). If they rinse the glasses with water, then it's fine.

This is my go to place for pizza! They have the best crust and fresh toppings. I pick it up to go probably once a month! Tired of pizza you say... Try a calzone, pasta, or soup! It's all good here. I absolutely love their minestrone soup.

Wow, this place was amazing! ! I shared the BBQ chicken family dinner (around $60 I think) with 6 other adults abs we still had food leftover! ! Best tasting pizza and pasta I've had in a long time! I wish I lived closer but I know where to eat next time I'm in town.

Not bad, it's a very homey atmosphere with some solid dishes. I especially love their breads and like how they have a private outdoor seating area. The service is always friendly and enjoyable. I don't have too much to say about thus particular place. I'd recommend it as a warm restaurant to have some fairly decent italian food. Just be aware that this particular mall has limited parking and there's usually a wait at the restaurant. They don't usually offer outdoor seating unless you ask for it but there's no wait for outdoor seating.

Delish! Food is 4 stars. Food to me is similar to Original Joes and kind of has the same vibes. I had the meat ravioli with meat sauce with a sausage and a meatball. Everything was so good... Especially the sausage. The portion was bug. I finished 1/2 and took home the rest. The leftovers were even more delish! Calamari was good too. Crunchy on the outside and soft n chewy on the inside. House bread was really good! Service was excellent! Our waitress was super attentive. This is the downer... Parking sucks!!! You may have to circle around during dinner time to find a parking, depending on the night.

I had not been to Giorgio's in well over a year, since I went gluten-free for health reasons in August 2013. I decided, after hearing they now have gluten-free pizza crust, to order take-out. Remembering their mouth-watering sausage pizza from my pre-GF years, I chose to call and order a sausage-no cheese-GF crust pizza (only comes in personal size). I asked whether the sausage was GF and Gareth (like any idiot who knows nothing about gluten or gluten allergies) tells me that gluten is only in wheat products. I informed him that gluten can be in sausage if the sausage maker uses filler, he checked and told me no filler. He also said they do not do substitutions, like veggies in place of the no-cheese. Okay. I prepped some diced tomatoes and green bell peppers at home to add and turned the oven on to 425 just in case the crust was soft (I like my crust crispier). The pizza was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes, I arrived in 30 minutes and it was still not done. I waited. Ten minutes later (40 minutes total), the pizza is finished and Martin now rings me up ($12.75 for a personal size pizza less a 15% coupon I had from the phone book). As he takes my credit card, I open the pizza box to see my pizza and it is the most pathetic and awful pizza I have ever seen or probably will ever see in my life! Looks like a bread disc with ketchup and a few chunks of sausage, barren and sad. I expressed my displeasure at paying any money for this pizza. Martin told me to speak to the manager. I waited at the front desk for Marian, who ends up being the District Manager. I really didn't have to explain anything, I just opened the box and showed her the pizza and she asked if I wanted another one made...or she said she could saute some vegetables for me. I chose the veggies (a generous portion of zucchini, carrots, onions, mushrooms, and red peppers, with garlic). I headed home. Put the veggies on the pizza, along with my own fresh veggies from my garden, and popped it into the oven for 10 minutes. What came out of the oven was one of the most delicious pizzas I have ever had, and probably one of the healthiest too! I probably could have saved myself a headache had I originally ordered a veggie with sausage, but I think I was confused when Gareth said no substitutions. And I was wishfully thinking of the past pizzas I have gotten there with lots of cheese...it's not the same. I'm not sure I will go back for their GF pizza again. For $11, I can get a GF crust with as many toppings as I desire at Top This Pizza in Los Gatos. And even though the manager was extremely accommodating, the employees were less than friendly and I prefer to be treated better.

The service here is really slow. Maybe it's because there weren't a lot of people working when I was there, but don't give a time if you're not going to follow through it. I was told to wait for 15 mins but I ended up waiting 30 mins... There are A LOT of choices for people to choose from on the menu. For some, that might be a good thing but I think it's way too much. Some of the food sound similar to each other but they're priced differently. Okay. The food here is alright. The food (veal primogiana) I ordered looked like it came from the pre-packaged frozen food isle at Walmart. Seriously. And the side spinach herb thing it came with it...was mushy and lacked flavor. However, the bread was good. I didn't try anything else on the menu but I'm not sure if I'm willing to give it a try....

PROS: LOVE that they'll give you a "wait time" which is pretty reasonable, & you sit down and no more than 10 min later, they have a seat for you! Always makes me feel very special! This is a family-friendly-style restaurant & they take such good care of the young folks, almost like you're eating at a relatives home! LOVE that! Food never disappoints! I absolutely LOVE their pizza! Crust is chewy and soft in the inside! CONS: Wish we had one on our side of town; East Foothills!

I would prefer to give zero stars. What happened to this place. Went last Sunday. After waiting a while I asked our waiter for menus. There were three of us. He never brought them. Then I asked another waiter. He said they had a big party and didn't have any. WTH He then found one menu for the three of us. Next thing I know our waiter got into it with another waiter. Two employees held him back from lunging forward to go towards the other employee. There was such anger in his face. At this point I would have walked out but had a disabled family member. The waiter then came to our table and asked if we had a problem. We ate and got the heck out of there. I will never set foot in there again. They also need to change up there menu. Same old boring menu year after year

Where's the waiter? You might laugh, but this says it all about this place. Great food, packed with people - can be a long wait, great feel, inside / outside seating, and even a nice little bar. However, the service consistently is off. We waited easily 10 minutes for out waiter. The buser did not come by to ask about water or bread until we grabbed someone walking by. I was even ignored by a waitress when I called out to her to see about getting help. Tip: Don't be shy if your not getting service. Start flagging down other wait staff or you will never eat. The food here is big and some dishes are family style. All worth a try, but perhaps over a couple visits. Favorites: sausage bread, calazones, and penne with sausage / mushrooms).

I'm a sucker for Italian food, and Giorgios now has my heart. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our server was super nice and water and bread came out fast. Their bread- my god- probably the best bread I've had at an Italian restaurant and it was piping hot fresh out the oven. We ordered the garlic bread with cheese as an appetizer but I probably wouldn't have if I knew how good the regular bread was! Anyways the cheesy garlic bread was delicious. It came with a side of marinara sauce to dip. Although both of our breads came out fast the wait for food was a little longer. However our server made sure our water was full and checked on us many times. My boyfriend got the lasagna and it was soooooo yummy. I got the salmon florentine and I didn't really like it. Not enough Alfredo sauce or parmesan. However when I asked my server for more sauce she brought me a cup of hot Alfredo sauce with no extra charge which made up for it. Overall, 1 beer, 1 appetizer, and 2 pasta dishes came to $40.. A pretty reasonable price if you ask me. I will be back!!

Even though it was incredibly busy the staff was attentive and fast to take our order. I am hoping that the reason the subpar quality of the food was due to that. I will give it another chance and come back when the crowds dwindle down and give them a fair chance. I'll keep you posted.

If what you're looking for is a great place to take the family for traditional American-Italian classics Georgio's will not disappoint. Don't expect anything fancy or unique, just great food and LOTS of it. I like the Rigatoni Spinachi but the Pizzas are great too. WAY better than places like Magiano's.

Ugh. I haven't updated this in awhile but tonight's disappointing experience brought me back to Yelp. 15 minute wait to get seated (despite seeing empty tables), and then after we ordered, a 20 minute wait to get my house salad! Crazy! It was mostly iceberg lettuce with two slices of cucumber and two slices of tomato, plus 3 croutons. Feh. Another 15 minutes until our food came out. Calzone was missing one of the items - very lame (and now it's $14.50, up from $13 in my last review). We also ordered "gnocchi di manzi", which the server described as pot roast. Well, it was mushy, half the veg was undercooked, and the gnocchi were mushy. Very disappointing. Slow service all around. I really, really want to like this place, but sadly I think it's off our list.

We have been to eat here many times over the years and generally enjoy our time here. However, our latest visit was very disappointing. When our food arrived, it was swimming in oil. We could hardly eat it because it was so greasy. Both of us have ordered the same dishes before with no problem, so we were very confused. One plate looked thrown together and very unappetizing. The meat was grey and covered with a thick layer of congealed cheese. We ordered the garlic bread as an appetizer, and it wasn't bad, but the marinara sauce they provided is definitely different from the last few times we were there. We shared our concerns with the waiter and were told that the usual cook was out for the day and a different person was working in the kitchen. Unfortunately, we won't be back since we can't guarantee that the next time the food will be better.

Date night for the hubby and myself unusual for us to go out on Sat but we thought we would give it a try and see how long the wait would be for dinner. Walked in and asked how long the wait was...we were seated right away on the cute patio right under a heater. It was a perfect night to sit outside and had a great young waitress with cute dimples. sorry I forgot her name. Service was outstanding and the chix parm was so yummy.

Dinner time and Hubby wants to go to either Round Table or here, Giorgio's. At first I thought Pizza, then, I changed my mind and said, "Giorgio's". Been here so many time with Hubby but it's always his call on this place. For tonight, we ordered the following: Steam clams - $10.95 Baked Rotelli - $12.95 Gnochi - $9.95 Small cheese pizza - $19.00 Soda - $2.75 It was really busy tonight. I generally eat very slow and I already finished my steam clams and half of my baked rotelli and still Hubby's pizza hadn't come - that just way too long of a wait. Finally, we told the waitress to have it for to go. Food wise, steam clam hit the spot for me. The white wine and all the minced garlic with the herbs is just yummy. I drank up the sauce and really clean it off. Everything else is just okay for me. Not bad, not awesomely great. 2 persons including tax is $60.47. But again, we did pig out and had lots of leftovers.

I have been eating at Giorgio's for many years. Each experience has been getting worse and worse. The first thing that brings me was the atmospher. The relaxing itialian theme is very comfomfortable. They do bring bread with the soft butter and it actually is really fresh. But getting filled up the bread I have learned is a no no. Save your self for the meal ! The meal of the lasagna is just okay. I wouldnt call it the best. As far as service I have had times when I didn't feel completely taken care of, getting the waitress attention that i wanted my bill . With that being said I just feel maybe I would give them one more chance to redem themselves. I shall try them again in a couple of month....

I've been coming here for years. My parents have been coming here since before I was born. It's good food definitely but the service lags. There have been multiple times were the employees have been extremely disrespectful. A few years ago, the host rolled his eyes in front at my father but I was able to see him. The manager was called and she handled the situation very well. I went 2 weeks ago and two tables were seated after us and were given water and bread before us. The waiter came by after helping them even though we were seated five minutes before them and returned 15 minutes later with water. When I had asked the food runner or bus boy or whatever he was for water and bread since we had visible been waiting he SNAPPED and "the waiter only told me to get theirs." After asking the waiter for a THIRD time, he brought water after the appetizers. The bus boy whom snapped came with waters after and said, "well you already have some." This place is good food and everything but the management definitely needs to teach their employees how to be respectful. The only reason I did not ask for management when the bus boy snapped at me was because my parents asked me not to. He snapped at me while standing over another guests' table! If I see him next time I go there I will definitely point him out to the manager because that was so disrespectful.

This place is a hit or miss for me. Some visits the food is spot on. Other's, not. Recent trek the crab cakes were so mushy and drowning in the butter sauce which was starting to separate by the time we got them. The ratio of sauce to pasta was overkill. I almost thought of taking the remaining sauce home but this is not what was there for. Disappointing trek.

Our family has been eating here since the 60's. My husband and I have ate here and ordered pizzas to go many times in the past years and never once disappointed! Tonight we went there to have dinner and I was shocked at the terrible service from the girl who waited on us and worse than that, the food was horrible!! My salad was a wet mess, was so soaked with dressing it was like soap salad. My husband and I both admitted to each other a couple bits in that the food tasted old, over cooked and just horrible. Worse meal I've ever had! What happened? New cook? New management? This place needs to take a good look at what's going on in the kitchen! Sadly, we will never go back!

3.5stars. Not the best Italian restaurant around but I like going here when I'm craving for Italian food without having to go to the big Italian chains like Olive Garden or Pasta P. The Penne Calabrese here is excellent. The interior has that small family owned feel to it. Servers are friendly and attentive. Reasonable price for their menu. I would go here again just to get an Italian fix.

I just had the pesto fettuccine with chicken and boo!!!! It was such a waste of 15$. The pasta looked pretty and everything but it has absolutely no flavor. NO FLAVOR what so ever. I put a lot of Parmesan and still nothing. I was gonna try their pizza but I'm assuming everything is gross. The bread and butter was good tho lol.

I have never eaten anything at Giorgio's that I haven't loved. I recommend the BBQ Chicken, the raviolis and the meatball sandwich. Italian sodas are also great!

We love the 'NY style' pizza, with ricotta cheese added. Sometimes we get the NY style + ricotta, but other times we get the NY style with a ricotta/garlic/parsley mixture that seems like a filling for stuffed shells or something?? Anyway, the NY style + ricotta is awesome and the "other one" (like we had again tonight) sucks ass. How do we get what we actually order???

Always amazing pizza! Owned by the same family as Frankie Johnnie & Luigi in Mountain View which I've loved since I was a boy. My family's go to place for Italian food.

My kids and I love ordering a pizza from here as a special treat each month. The sauce is so good and pepperoni has just enough kick that my kids will still eat it. One of these days we will actually stop in and have a meal!

Giorgio's has been a long time established fixture in the San Jose restaurant scene. It is a great place for a family celebration. Their menu has something for everybody and it is 100 times better than over priced - over hyped Maggiano's. Giorgio's pizza cannot be beat. I love their specials. They have a nice bar which if you are into sports one can sit and eat while watching sports. I often take out food when I feel like just hanging out at home and not cooking. I highly recommend this restaurant. I am a foodie and you can pay a lot more for lesser quality/quantity of food. Giorgio's price point is modest for the best Italian food in the South Bay. For those who are not aware, Giorgio's is part of the restaurant family which includes, Frankie, Johnny & Luigi Too (2 Locations) and 2 locations for Giorgio's. The family owns the New York Style Italian Sausage company which can be found at most stores including: Andronico's, Raley's, Costco, Nob Hill, Lucky's and Safeway. On a separate note, I am confused to find any negative comments about Giorgio's. I have always had very good service and I found the wait staff to be cordial. On Fridays and Saturday's be prepared for a wait if you go to dinner at peak hours. With any good restaurant, you will have a wait. I suggest while you are waiting have a cocktail and chill out! Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

While we are still in search of our new favorite Italian restaurant, Giorgios did a pretty good job. Very friendly service with a warm cozy atmosphere. My husband got the lasagna which was a HUGE portion and I ordered pasta with scallops and shrimp. Both dishes were delicious and well-prepared. Oh, and don't forget to order the sausage bread!

I'm giving the food & bread the 4 stars...but what I didn't like was a childs cup of juice for a TODDLER, was $2.50!!! The juice wasn't fresh, I'm sure it was minute maid!! That is highway robbery!! The service was good, out was a weekday & after the lunch rush so it was very nice, we weren't rushed to finish up.

So sad. I so want to love this place. Been here for a birthday. Taken the parents and kids. It's ok. The food is neither great nor poor. Tonight we sat outside. We were forgotten. More than a few times. I don't expect to be utterly catered to - but I do want bread and water before the entree. We sat for 15 mins waiting to order. Partly my bad for not moving inside after that. For the price, quality, service I'm not back for a while. Sad. Please improve. I like family owned places.

I used to go to high school down the street so I've been going to Giorgios forever - but last week was probably my favorite visit ever ever ever!!! We had a great server named Diego (I think?) and he was so fun and so great. The food was great too but our service was even better so thanks!

My family and I have been going to Giorgio's since the 1960's. Their food is always good, and their $4 drinks sure help us old folks on a fixed income. Their hostess, Marion, is a sweetheart. I will always be a loyal customer. Mary W.

We arrived at 5:30pm with the intention of avoiding the dinner rush. When we arrived we quickly noticed the abundance of seating available outside in the patio as well as inside. After checking in we were told it would be a 25-30 minute wait to be seated. This confused us seeing as there was plenty of outside seating. We were not given that option nor were we explained why we needed to wait 30 min when it was clear that wasn't necessary. It didn't take us long to walk right down the way to Mexico Lindo where we were seated immediately. I most certainly would have understood a long wait had we arrived at a later time to a packed restaurant. As a long time customer of Giorgio's I have to say I am very disappointed and am not in a rush to patronize your restaurant anytime soon.

What a shame I must review Giorgio's so unfavorably. I looked so forward to meeting friends recently for a nice gathering over great food. Unfortunately the evening went bad almost as soon as we were seated. While we were a rather large group of 10, that is no excuse for the lack of service we received. From waiting for over an hour for our food to having to get up out of our seat to find someone to refill our water glasses. .the entire experience was a mess. To top it off, my pasta was COLD !!! Only the marinara sauce was heated and poured over the ravioli!!!!. . . .Definitely not the way any pasta should be served. It's such a shame since I have had so many lovely meals there. I'm hoping to return but it will be a while, I'm sure. Giorgio's has been around for many, many years - but lately service and food aren't what they used to be. Such a shame. . . .

It has been several years since we have eaten here. We loved the food and atmosphere, but after today we may not go back. It nearly took 1 hour to get our food after ordering and then they got par of it wrong. It would not have been a big deal, but the kitchen tried to deceive us in exchanging our food. The server was quick to get the manager when we complained. We didn't get the dish we ordered (our choice) and the manager compt dessert. The food we got was below average and the service was sloooooooowwwwww! This place was a great place years ago. It is too bad that it's slipped. There are better choices.

Inexpensive and delicious. I had the meatball with spaghetti and my grandma had a meatball with penne and marinara sauce. It was delicious and fun. It is a family tradition and brings back great memories. Can't go wrong here.

We've been going to Giorgio's on Foxworthy for more than 20 years. There is no better pizza between San Jose and Monterey, but unfortunately the quality has deteriorated so dramatically in recent years that I can not recommend it at all. We live in Monterey county, and we always make a point to pick up a pizza whenever we're passing through SJ. The last two pizzas however had MOLDY spots that made them inedible. That is UNACCEPTABLE when you're paying nearly thirty bucks for a pizza. Worst of all, when my wife called to speak to the manager and make him aware of the quality issue, he gave her crap as though she were trying to get something over on the restaurant. "Well, if you live 45 minutes away, then anything could happen to change the taste. Next time you should check the pizza before you leave to make sure it tastes right." No apology, no offer of a coupon, just bad attitude and then he hung up on her. Yeah, buddy. Next time we place an order to go, we'll stand at the cash register and eat it. Idiot. Another time a few months ago, we arrived just at closing time and all the tables had been set up for the next day, place settings, silverware, etc. However, the cleaning staff had placed all the chairs upside down on the tables ON TOP OF THE PLACE SETTINGS in order to clean the floor. Obviously management does not care one whit for customers' health or good service. There will be no next time. The food was once great, but the service will make your stomach churn. Do yourself a favor and find someplace else to eat.

I've been coming to Giorgio's on Foxworthy since the 80's and they have a great traditional hand tossed pizza. We usually order the Giorgio Special which has pepperoni, sausage, salami, mushroom, and olives. My only suggestion is to eat the pizza right away in the dining room and skip the take out unless you live close to the restaurant because the pizza tends to get a little soggy from all the toppings. Great friendly service and the Manager is always dressed sharp and greeting all the customers.

I ate here the other day and it was a disaster! They sat us in a back corner area that looked like a closed section. Our waitress didn't bring us our soups or salads for like half hour till we flagged someone else down to get her to get them for us. Then she left and we got a new waitress that was super indifferent and kept telling us it would be 10 more minutes, Then oh our foods ready, then 45 min later it finally came and they swapped my friend's food with her boyfriend's food. They were both calzones and they didn't realize until they were almost done eating that they were eating each other's food. Then we had to seek out the manager ourselves to address this terrible experience and he acted like he wasn't sure what he could do about everything. Overall we were there for like two and a half hours and left disappointed, frustrated and upset. Not good service. The food was good.

I have been coming here for years and really hasn't disappointed me yet. All of the food here is good. I just recently went and ordered the pizza, there's a lot of choices on the menu. And it's very hard to just pick 1 entree. The pizza I ordered was called the "giorgio's specialty." It has pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and salami. That was really good! I ordered the small, and wasn't quite sure how small it was but in fact it can easily feed 2-3 people. We also ordered the sausage bread, that may be their best appetizer. It comes with marinara sauce too. It is a for sure crowd favorite here. The customer service is pretty good for the most part. The waitress we had didn't really come by our table too often to see if we needed anything such as water, or drinks, or if she could take any plates away. It was a Friday night and was pretty busy so our waitress was running around to all the other tables and came by occasionally. Overall this place is worth it! No matter how long the wait is. Go grab a drink at the bar inside and just kick back until your table is ready. It will not disappoint. If you are really craving good Italian food come here!!!

Giorgio's is great, but come early because if not the service isn't very good. They are very busy and the service leaves much to be desired. But if you've got the time, and don't care if it takes forever to be served, the food is good.

I have been here ALOT over the past couple of years and so far I have not been disappointed. My favorite dish is probably as simple as you can get but I love it. It's the cappellini. Just noodles and tomatoes chopped up with fresh herbs. Other things I have had are the pizza- sauce is a little on the spicy side with loads of cheese, crust is always crispy! Meatball sub- delicious! huge meatballs! BBQ chicken- super moist, little spicy but delicious. I would also highly recommend ordering the sausage bread as a starter.

Been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. The food is delicious. It is a tad pricey but worth it as the portions are larger than many of it's competitors. One of our families favorite places to dine in or as take-out. Great service, quality ingredients has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

Awesome food and service. You could pay more for good Italian but you wont find better than Giorgios. They make their own bread, their own sausage, pasta and everything is so fresh. Oscar (manager? ) and Chris are so on top of their jobs that they anticipate before you even ask. Marion (?) the lady who answered the phone is so helpful when you place a to go order. We cant recommend a better place for good food (Italian or otherwise) in San Jose. It is old school San Jose tradition. A family owned business around for generations. Still doing it the right way. No cutting corners. The ravioli is awesome. The veggies are awesome. The veal is awesome. The chicken cacciatore is awesome. Their pizzas are the best in the Bay Area. Their cocktails are reasonably priced, top shelp spirits options, never watered down. Their fresh baked bread is worth the trip alone. It is casual and perfect for a date or family occasion. Great for a low key birthday, office lunch or friends doing pizza and beer. The Pasta di Bari has tender filet and is manna from heaven. Taramisu rocks. They do fabulous reasonably priced catering too. And their takeout is great even if you are on a budget. You can feed a family of four spaghetti and meaty bolognese with bread and herbed butter for around 25 dollars. DON'T FORGET TO TIP IF YOU DO TAKE-OUT. Remember someone has to prep your order and get it right so they deserve a tip. Don't be cheap. They are good folks who work hard and care about the job they do. We have been coming here for 30 plus years and hope to be coming here for another 30.

Sunday night not busy 15 mins to get water and bread! people sat after us served before us! terrible service it's 645pm bus boy snapped at my daughter when she asked a 3rd time for water! I have been eating here for 30 years and this is the worst experience I have ever had

The mixed reviews are earned. Perhaps Giorgio's is resting on the laurels earned by previous "family" members, both servers and hosts. The food is fairly consistent, 3 star worthy but not truly good. The service, on the other hand, can range from 1 star surly and slow to 3 star okay but neglectful. When a patron has to continually remind the server for water, more bread, more utensils, and the busboys have to fill in by serving water and fulfilling requests, well, you get the picture. Giorgio's is our neighborhood Italian eatery, so we order to go more often than not. Judging by the crowds in the restaurant, Giorgio's continues to thrive in spite of these reviews.

The waitress crystal is beyond amazing! She went out of her way to really please us as customers and ensured everything was to a satisfaction! She was very attentive, professional and very delightful .. She definitely deserves recognition by owners and management. We will be back to this location.

I'm only sorry there aren't six stars to give. I'm not sure if the Yelpers with negative reviews here are writing about the same place. We've been regulars at Giorgio's (and their sister restaurant, Frankie, Johnnie and Luigi's) since the 80's and have never, not ever, been disappointed. The food has always been consistently excellent (We live in San Francisco and the authentic Italian restaurants of North Beach is our yardstick) and the service has always been perfect (attentive without being intrusive.) (If you don't think you're getting delicious, genuine Italian cooking here, then maybe your pallet is only deserving of Chef Boyardee.)

So I ordered the chicken and shrimp fettuccine which came with a mustard sauce that did not appeal to me so i switched it out for Alfredo and it was delicious. My date had the salmon Florentine and that was even better! We ordered a pitcher of IPA which was amazing and the bread kept us going until our food was served. The waitress was friendly and I loved the vibe. I cant wait to go back.

First let me say that I love everything at this place!! We come in twice a month at least . Last night we went for dinner and it was great as always. That said a customer came in and sat down with what I call a purse dog on her lap!!! Yeah a dog in a restaurant! Being that I work in food service I know the laws about animals in food establishments. The guy who sat them as well as the server should have told them to sit on the patio or no dog. Some people are ridiculous about their pets but really? I love my dog but would NEVER bring him anywhere food is served. The manager should of said something because everyone around them was staring

We were lucky enough to come across this place after my daughter's softball tryout last weekend. The girls wanted pizza and it was the only pizza place in the plaza we were in. Pros: ~Excellent service. I wished I remembered our waiters name, but he was great! ~Bruschetta was so yummy and fresh ~Calamari was also extremely fresh and very delicious. ~Salads were very fresh and pre-tossed with dressing. ~Pizza was excellent. The crust was the best part. We had Johnnie's favorite with Pesto, chicken, roasted red peppers, artichokes, bruschetta tomato, olives, and cheese...OMG!! It was to die for!!! ~We were so full but all shared the molten chocolate cake. It basically melted in your mouth. Cons: ~Very loud...probably not their fault since they are VERY busy and I can't complain because our girls added to the noise. Not that much of a con in my book, but if you are looking for a nice quiet meal...it is not the place for you. It may be different in the evening. I usually try to list Cons but in this case I was really searching for something negative to say. All in all it was a great meal and I will BE BACK. I hope next time to try the pasta.

We've eaten here a few times. Most recently last week. Food is always fresh and tasteful. Prices are a bit high though. Atmosphere is very family oriented and we enjoy that. Great for kids. A bit noisy so works well with little ones. Wait staff is always very friendly and attentive. The gentleman at the front counter is always super nice and he definitely takes care of his guests. Not sure if he's the owner or not but he's always very pleasant. We'd go more often if it wasn't so $$ lol

Giorgio's is like the ubiquitous American-Italian restaurant that has since been replaced by the OG and other chains. However, Giorgio's is the real thing so if you want good italian cuisine, this is a great option. I went to Giorgio's with a friend while trying to find someplace new for dinner one evening. The place is located in a strip-mall but the interior is charming and interesting. We both had pasta and salads and everything was good. While walking to the restroom I saw the pizza and it looked amazing. I really need to come back and try the pizza. If you come here, check out the pizza at least before you order so you know what you're missing. The service was efficient and friendly. The place wasn't that busy on a weekday evening but I could see it getting really busy on the weekend.

Much improved in the last year. I eat here all the time now. The happy hour is great especially with the new TV's they put up in the bar area and I love the new outdoor seating. The food is just plain good from pizza to lasagna you can't go wrong.

My husband, my one year old daughter, and I went here for lunch yesterday. The food was good, as was the service, but just a warning - this is not a place to take a one year old. They did have high chairs, but the placemats and the tablecloths are too tempting for small hands. Once the food came it was easy enough to redirect her, but I would hardly call it a relaxing meal. Not even Cheerios or toys could distract her from the possibility of yanking the tablecloth clear off the table!

I live just around the corner and have eaten here many times due to the location. Every time I eat there I tell myself this is just way to average food and poor service for the price. I must say that the Lasagna is good, but everything else is sub par compared to other area establishments. I normally don't write reviews but after several bad service experiences, I finally decide to share my experience. Today we decide to call in a to go order and buy a family style BBQ chicken dinner. I joked with my wife and said be sure to allow at least and hour! So we called in the order at 4;45pm, before peak dinner time. I arrived at 5:45 and to my disappointment my order was still not ready! I expressed my dissatisfaction to the cashier at 6:10pm. Finally at 6:15, an hour and a half after our initial call, we received the take out order. Never once did I receive an apology for the wait! I wanted to ask for my more than 20 percent tip back! I went home and of course the chicken tasted like a baked chicken with no seasoning with a bit of bland BBQ sauce poured on top! Never again! You lost another very local customer.

Came here with the boyfriend + 10 more people for his friend's Birthday. Let me start off by saying that this was my first time and probably my last time. I actually work at a pizza spot and I must say the place that I work at DUMPS on this spot. The service here was HORRIBLE. Our friend (Birthday boy), had made reservation for 12 people and my boyfriend and I had gotten there first and the lady who was on the front counter said that our tables were still being set up and to notify her when more people come, as three more of our friends come we tell her that they are here and if our table was ready, she said "almost", and disappeared. As everyone started to come in the same girl was no where to be found; finally a guy came and asked if we've already been helped and we had said "no", so he finally seated us; the table he sat us down at had been there the whole entire time, so pretty much the girl lied when she said that our tables were being "set up". Next we had ordered our pizzas and they came out with two baskets of bread (which were really delicious might I add), but between 12 people they had only brought out two small dipping cups of whipped butter. WTF?! Are we each suppose to pass it around and only get a tip full of butter on our bread rolls? I got mad and had to ask for a few more, they brought another two out. As we ordered our pizzas the waitress we had was no where to be found, she didn't even check on us at all. I had to flag her down and ask her for refills and more bread. She came back with the refills and no bread. Starving and ready to eat, the pizzas came out. We had a large pepperoni, the Johnnie's Special, and some other kind that had I believe chunks of mozzarella(?), the pizzas were ALRIGHT, nothing special. The thing that bugged me the most was the fact that the pizzas weren't cut all the way and we had to cut each slice by hand. IF this were to happen at our restaurants, I'm pretty sure our managers would be pissed. Overall, I give this place a two star. One for the bread rolls that each of us got, and the other star for the free Birthday dessert they brought out for our friend. Not coming back.

Got the family style meal which included Baby Back Ribs. By far the worst ribs I've ever had. They were extremely tough and chewy. Its clear they just boiled them and then dipped them in BBQ Sauce. If you want good slow roasted, fall off the bone ribs, go to Malibu Grill

Great Italian food and great service. Our server Michael was very polite and attentive to our table. One of the best waiters I've ever had. The food was excellent and I ordered the linguini and clams while my girlfriend had the lasagna. The portions were large and the atmosphere was your typical Italian ambience. Highly recommend this place for great Italian food and if you are lucky enough to have Michael wait your table you will appreciate his polite manners.

First off I will say the two stars were given for the food otherwise this would have been a zero star review as our service was horrible. We has a water delivered with a very long hair in it. We couldn't even get the servers attention for 10 min to let her know. She took the hair and left the glass never to return with a new water. They delivered my son's salad but forgot my wife's. they didn't bring the glass of wine ordered for over 15 min. I had to go tell the manager on duty about what a crappy job they were doing. He brought over the water finally and then brought out the pizza. Upon presenting the bill by the server she said they wanted to give the boys a free ice cream only to have to wait another 12 min. Then another 10 min to bring back the check. I am utterly appalled at the service and their response. Their food is good though.

I have been to Giorgio's many times before. It's your basic Italian American restaurant. Usually it's decent food for a decent price. This past visit however was disappointing. We had a very inattentive waiter. It took forever for bread to arrive after taking drink order and delivering drinks. My dining companion had fried calamari which was fried to perfection. However, the grease it was fried in was slightly past it's due date. :( My broiled chicken special was overcooked and I had to use some of the sauce from the oversauced pasta as a gravy for the chicken in order to eat it.

I came here for the first time after being a lucky winner of some gift certificates. I see everyone's bad reviews on price and I'm confused. The last time I was here we fed 3 people for $50 (total before tip), what other Italian restaurant can you do that? I can't think of any, unless your talking little Caesars. The food was good and the staff was very friendly, we will be coming back very soon.

I had the same experience as Francesca A. described with regards to being seated. This was my first and last time eating here. The food is ok but not good enough to warrant another visit after the crappy service we received. We were a party of 5. We arrived at 5:30 walked in and was told there wasn't a wait but a woman took our name down because I could tell the dinner crowd was coming. We were told a table was being set up for us. Our party was the only one waiting along with a group of gals waiting for the rest of their birthday party. A few minutes later Bryan (The general manager) said "Right this way", leading us to our seat. We sat for a few minutes, then Bryan the General Manager came back to as looking all frazzled and said, "This isn't your table, it's for another party you need to get up." Ok then we got up and went back to wait for our table, as were walking back Bryan tells the other party "sorry there were other people sitting at your table but they are getting up." Even the woman in that party said "What? You made them all get up?" Yes he sure did. They were a party of six and arrived after us so I'm still not sure why we had to get up. But whatever it's not their fault this restaurant is poorly run. We then proceeded to wait 25 MORE freakin' minutes for a table. We had my 2 year toddler with us and he was getting hungry. (Yes I had snacks for him) I had to ask twice and make sure they my name was still on the list since several parties of varying sizes were seated before us. Finally close to 6:00 pm we were seated. We ordered our food and a kids pizza for my toddler. Salads came out in a timely manner. My spinach salad was good. But fast forward about 40 minutes still no food, and we never received bread like all the other tables around us. Ok so maybe we should have asked. No big deal. Our waiter came out to say "Sorry your food will be out soon. I'm going to go check on it." Finally our food arrived about 45-50 minutes after we first ordered. Missing was my toddler's pizza. The waiter went to check on the pizza only to come back and say "Oh sorry I forgot to put the order in. Do you want me to put it in now?" Seriously?! I dealt with all the other BS, table moving, long wait for food but why would I wait another 40 minutes for a kids pizza. I'm curious how does a waiter FORGET to put in an item from a larger order? Any way we ate our food and left. I won't be back. This restaurant is poorly run, food is ok. I have a hunch only regulars receive stellar service.

This is the BEST Italian restaurant I've eaten in San Jose! Love the food & the portions are huge! My favorite appetizer is the fried raviolis! yum! I love their pasta dishes so every time I come here my order is always different, yet so satisfying. The price is kind of up there, but not over priced at all. If you love or are craving Italian food, come here! there's only 2 locations willow glen & milpitas. I've been to both. Happy with both.

Good food and service. The atmosphere is nice, especially during the summer months. They added an outside patio area that is nice. The prices are median and food quality is suitable.

More Congealed Cheese, Pleese..... Pros: Big portions. Nice prices. Friendly atmosphere. Cons: When you ask for a doggy bag...the dog might be better off than you Ratings: - Overall: 3 - Food Quality: 3 ( with "dips" to a 2 ) - Food Quantity: 4 - Menu: 4 - Wine List: 3 - Service: 4 - Atmosphere: 4 - Value: 4 My wife and I, plus another couple, went back to Giorgio's for dinner recently. Overall, it's the same place I described in my initial review and update. In fact, aside from some updated furnishings, it's probably a lot like the original Giorgio's which opened many, many years ago. Reason for this new update is the food. Most things about our experience were similar to previous outings: Good service and nice atmosphere in a rambunctious neighborhood Italian restaurant. Giorgio's seems immune to bad news. Recession...lots of gassy ingredients ( the type our 6 year old granddaughter says "makes your butt talk" )...rainy weather. It doesn't matter. People gladly sign onto a list and wait 20-30 minutes for a table. Anyway, dinner started well. Each of us ordered a "Caesar Fantasy Salad" which is a large plate of Caesar-type greens beneath a sizeable assortment of vegetables topped with grated cheese. It's certainly worth the price of $7.95. Warm rolls accompanying the meal were great with hints of garlic and a good mix of doughy and crunchy textures. The meal would get 5 stars if we called it a night after the salad and bread, but we stayed and Giorgio's lost a few stars. Why? My entree, eggplant parmagiana, looked great on the plate. Two big "double-decker" slices of eggplant topped with tomato sauce and cheese with some spaghetti and spinach on the side. It was a balanced meal...the good, bad and ugly ( white flour pasta was the ugly because it's frowned upon by nutritionists ). However, it was more ( or less ) than meets the eye. The eggplant was lukewarm, so I asked the server the do something about it. Before he came, my wife and our 2 friends proclaimed "wow...that cheese looks like it sat under a heat lamp. Maybe it congealed". Sure enough, Webster's dictionary defines that word as "to coagulate, especially by cooling. For example, the blood congealed into blobs". But when you're hungry, maybe coagulated food isn't such a bad thing. Sounds like "fortified" to me. So when our server brought my plate back, the food was warmer and I dug right in. After all, if it's dinnertime, fortification is for a good cause. Still, I couldn't help raise an eyebrow at that cheese. How long had it seen the light of day...or a heat lamp? My wife and the other couple all ordered the same entree...Chicken Cacciatore. Again, at first glance, it looked mighty good. Large chunks of chicken mixed with a heaping mound of vegetables. It was even hot! My wife realized she'd never finish the food and gave me a few pieces. After spending 4-5 minutes working on the first one, she asked "a bit tough"? Yeah...as in "that would make a great chew toy for my dog". Everybody agreed the dish was a "5" for appearance, but a "3" on execution...like the movie star who's in trouble when straying from their script. They also remarked how "traditional" cacciatore comes on the bone while the one served by Giorgio's was from the breast. Personally, I prefer a breast. Bones be damned! So, it wasn't a terrible experience. More "eh" than exciting. And maybe that's what the customers want. Big portions ( me too )...good prices ( me too ) and a friendly atmosphere ( me too ) with middle-of-the road comfort food which sometimes misses the mark.

Bad service, I was told that we would be 10 to 15 minutes long to be seated. 30 minutes later I was told again that it would be another 15 minutes. I have been here for an hour and a half and I still see no food in front of me. The bread was really fresh and good though.

So, I'm pretty sure this place is/ was owned by the same people that owned Frankie, Johnnie, & Luigi's in Santa Clara- hence basically the same menu and vibe. My stepdad and his family had been going to FJL for like 20+ years and I had been going there for the past few years since I moved here, until it closed last year (Awwww). Luckily, I found out that Giorgio's is basically the same and still in the SJ area. I did like the actual location of FJL better- a little more "homey" yet had breathing room. Giorgio's kind of packs you in like sardines, and it can get loud. However... Let's be honest and talk about the FOOD. The food is the same and it's good! Best things: -Baked Rigatoni: so rich and melty with all that cheese! The sauce is super good and you can't go wrong with ham and olives too. I'm pretty sure the thing weighs like 10 pounds and I can only finish a quarter of the plate in a sitting but it's addicting -Free bread and garlic butter: the rolls are fresh and warm! Not like some places that give you some old, hard, stale bread with cold butter. Even the garlic butter is delicious! -Sausage bread appetizer: dough, sausage, mozzarella, with marinara to dip. What's not to like? The entree portions are big though, so between your entree and the complimentary bread, I'd only get this to share if you are super hungry or have a bigger group -Antipasto salad- HUGE but for one or two people this can be a meal. I love Italian salads like this and I can always make this my entree! -Pretty much all the desserts are great Huge portions and yummy food (haven't had anything here I didn't like)!

Tried this place a few times. Food is terrible. I'm no Gordon Ramsey, but even I can tell their food is frozen, reheated, and dried out. Chicken Parm is not good, pasta tastes like cafeteria food, and everything is so bland. Overall, very disappointing. On the plus side, the beer is cold.

Don't go to Giorgio's if you are expecting excellent service. I would have walked out tonight if the food wasn't wonderful. Our order was taken in a timely manner, but after that......a soup, a Caesar salad and a house salad was ordered the house salad came out first, with an explanation that they were just finishing up making the soup (minestrone, the daily house specialty) and no mention of the Caesar salad. When my husband finished his salad, we had to flag down the waiter to remind him of the Caesar salad. That was brought, and when the waiter picked up the plate after my daughter had finished he asked if I wanted my soup or just the main course (the soup was included in the meal). I chose to get the soup to go. Later in the meal I flagged down the assistant manager and told him of the problem and he acted like he could have cared less, and even mentioned he didn't know there was a problem with the soup.... This is the second time in the past month we have had an issue with the service....

An average, at best, American Italian restaurant. A good place to bring kids or your grandmother, but don't expect anything peculiarly authentic. Came here for my company's holiday party and found the garden salad to be my favorite part. It was fresh, crisp iceberg lettuce and veggies with homemade-looking croutons. The pizza and pasta main course was pizza parlor fare: unremarkable and bland. You can prepare a comparable pasta dish at home out of a jar.

Sorry to say, but Giorgio's has really gone down hill over past several years. Can't understand why this place is busy now - the food quality is poor. After multiple bad meals in a row, we've finally given up on what used to be a childhood "nice dinner out" for my wife when she was growing up. Overcooked pasta (not properly drained - waters down the sauce), salads that are just lettuce with little else, cardboard pizza....they've really taken their eye off the ball on food quality and service. My counsel: stay away. Not worth the price and you don't want this type of dining experience.

Italian food is known for its carbs, and Giorgio's is no different. You're greeted promptly and brought sour dough rolls brushed with butter and still piping hot from the oven. It comes with a side of their special whipped butter that has herbs and a hint of garlic. Very tasty. Definitely get the sausage bread, even as you feast on their complimentary bread. It has slices of their homemade sausage baked right into the dough and comes with a dish of warm marinara sauce to top off each slice. So very delicious. I will definitely get this again when I return. I ordered a chicken with pasta dish that was a bit odd. It seemed like a Chinese stir-fry because it was basically just fettuccine pasta with a VERY light olive oil and garlic sauce, sauteed with sliced onions, red bell peppers, tomatoes, and broccoli. There wasn't much flavor. It might have been that there was supposed to be a cheese based sauce, but I asked for the Parmesan cheese on the side. I probably would not order this dish again. Though each of the veggies was cooked nicely, the pasta was fairly al dente, and the chicken was seasoned nicely, the sum of the parts did not combine together for a cohesive dish. I did have the pleasure of trying my sister's penne with sausage and mushrooms and that was definitely a winner. I will probably order that the next time I return to Giorgio's. That, or I will try their seafood pasta with rigatoni, which came with a delectable but rather heavy looking cream sauce. Service was friendly and attentive, with our water glasses getting refills at least twice. I also liked the decor which seemed kitschy but in a good way. You can tell that this place has a lot of history and that people like to return here time and again. I've been told that there is usually a wait in the evenings, but lunch time was about half full.

Oh my goodness..... Best pizza I've ever had. The service is great. I love the mom and pop feel when I walk into Giorgios. It's not a place where it's apparent that the workers don't want to be there. Everyone from the host, to the waiter, to the cook had a smile on their face. I always make sure to leave a generous tip when I go.

Hmmmm where do I start, first off when we sat down the manager told us to get up because he mistakenly sat us down when the table was meant for another party. Then we waited while people who came in after us were seated immediately. Then we ordered a kids pizza for the child in our party, after 50 min (literally) when our food finally arrived there was no kids pizza and our waiter responded by "oh I think I might of forgot to put it in, let me check" which to no surprise he didn't put it in. While our waiter was checking to see if he put in the pizza, the table next to us who waited 45 mins for their food was complaining about their food being cold. As for the food, it's ok. I had a pepperoni pizza and some lasagna, and its nothing to write home about. And the food is WAY overpriced. Will not be coming here again

Great food, great drinks and AMAZING service!! The drinks are very reasonably priced and very good! This is my first time going to Giorgios and I was blown away at how friendly the staff was! I would totally recommend this place as a nice date night restaurant.

I consider myself fair, reasonable and objective... That said, I'm posting an update. We haven't gone back for Pizza, but we had some friends over recently and needed some meatballs. Decided to give Giorgio's another chance and they deserve 4 stars for a satisfying take out order of meatballs. Not cheap but fair value as their meatballs are a pretty good size. 4 stars for their meatballs and sauce.

Just had my worst experience at Giorgio's in San Jose. Sent back Calamari that had no taste and server brought it back saying that the chef told her that another one would taste the same. Never had tasteless Calamari. All he had to do was put salt on it. Told manager. He got chef to season another batch and it tasted better. Then my veal parmigiana tasted old so I sent it back and said don't bother with anything else. It used to be a regular place to go but now I'll never go back there again.

Giorgios is a great place to eat at, I always get the same thing every time and that's the Italian Sausage Sandwich, the garlic bread that they give you is soo good especially with the butter they serve! I have had the clam chowder and its quit tasty in my opinion.

I was very disappointed in my experience this evening at Georgio's. I love this place, my family loves this place, my friends love this place, but tonight I left pretty bummed about the service. I had popped in with a friend to have a beer. We sat at the bar closest to the door (not right at the main bar). We told the waitress we were just grabbing a beer and ordered. Then we waited, and waited, and waited....and we finally signalled the Maitre'd and asked him if he could get our beer. He grabbed two beers that had been pulled from the tap about 5 minutes before and brought them over. So we nursed our beers for about an hour or so, I ordered some food to bring home to the family and we were finally ready to go. But I needed to settle the bar tab with the waitress. The 2 beers came to $10.77 (that's another story) so I put a $20 bill in the bill fold and hand it to her. I get back 2 $5 bills as my change. What would you do at this point? Your choice is either to leave a 50% tip for terrible service or short the bill by 77 cents. I am generally not an a-hole and I was prepared to leave her a 10% tip ($1) as my own statement on her service....but instead I left with my 2 $5s. Her behavior was practically the definition of Chutzpah! I would offer the benefit of the doubt if she were trying to tell me that she was giving me a discount for the poor performance, but there was not a word. I know they are busy, I know they depend on tips, I know I didn't order a lot from her (but I did get over $45 of takeout). Anyway, I will go back because we do love the food and ambiance and generally love the service....but I had to let them and you know that this was really disappointing.

The linguini with clams an mussels were great!!!!! We will be coming back very soon. The atmosphere was great, we met one of the family members from the restaurant who gave us a history of the restaurant.

The food is pretty good. They do a family style but I have yet to order this way because it would be way too much food. I have had the pizza and it's pretty good! The service could be more friendly and attentive towards the customers. It gets pretty crowded here with large groups. Reservations are recommended! They also have a happy hour!

It seems the reviews for here are based on experiences that are either a "hit" or a "miss," and honestly, based off my experience, i dont see how anything could be a miss! I am a HUGE Bucca Di Beppo fan, and this place, blows Bucca out of the water. Customer Service was wonderful, people who werent even our server checked up on us. Food wise, I've never had Raviolis so heavenly, i even took home left overs, which says something because i absoloutley hate left overs. Giorgios, SPOT ON.

The Frankie, Johnny, and Luigi in Saratoga was closed down and my husband planned to go to dinner there with friends for weeks, than we saw that the week of the dinner! I looked up their website and saw they have a sister restaurant!! And a great one too! Its just like theirs! We were all seated quickly, the host was a really nice guy and the food, omg the food was awesome! We all had a really good time!

I like that they have a gluten free pasta alternative. Most of the meals I've tried are heavy in oil. So ask your it light in oil if don't want it to be so heavy. Nicely remodeled. They added a nice bar area with big TV. I love the rigatoni e spinachi.

My wife and I ate dinner here last night. We had seen this restaurant in the same shopping center as Mexico Lindo and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The bread rolls were hot from the oven and delicious. The accompanying butter contained herbs and enhanced the flavor of the bread. I ordered the Tuesday Night Special, Cioppino for $19.95. This includes a salad and a large piece of garlic bread. The Cioppino is served in a very large bowl with the assorted seafood thick on top of an enormous heap of linguini mixed in a delicious tomato based sauce. There were many crab legs and lots of thick shrimp, clams, mussels, and thick pieces of other fish, all on top of the pasta. It was huge! This is definitely a dish for two people. I could only finish the seafood (with help from my wife) and tried a bit of the pasta and garlic bread. The rest was saved for lunch the following day for two people. It was delicious! My wife ordered the "New York" style lasagna for $11.50. I had a taste and it was very good. It was also a huge portion. She only finished half of it (more yummy leftovers for another day!). The service was quick and attentive. This is a great place for Italian food. We will be back.

Service was good, our server(Adam) was very attentive and accommodating, but the food and management was terrible. After sitting for over an hour at our table waiting for our order, which they blamed on a child size pizza, there was hardly an apology. A group came in after us, sat, ate, and left 15 minutes before we received any of our food. The cook had no idea how to poach an egg which I ordered off the brunch menu. After sending back the dish twice I gave up. The eggs came rock hard, how the heck do you screw up a poached egg, my teenage daughter can make one. I basically sat hungry for over 90 minutes. My family's food was mediocre and under seasoned. The incompetent manager, who we overheard arguing like an idiot with another customer, was kind enough to take it off our bill (that was sarcasm). At this point we didn't have time to wait for more food to be poorly prepared. My wife was very upset at the meager 15% discount she offered us as consolation for our experience. After arguing with her, she asked what kind of discount she gets. Apparently employees get 30%. Well if you have a miserable experience as a customer you will be treated worse than an employee apparently. She finally took our bill and rudely stormed off agreeing to comp us for the terrible meal. Never before have I been treated as poorly by a restaurant manager. I've seen this on TV and always though it was all staged, but these people actually exist. I have been enjoying this place for over 25 years. It has gone downhill, very sad.

Meh. I'm really surprised at how packed this place is. The food is mediocre; the service just as forgettable. We were even served burnt garlic bread that I'm not really sure I'd give to my dog. I'd come back again if everything where half price but things are just too expensive here for what you get. I've been told I should try the pizza next time. Maybe I will.

This is my go to place when I am in the mood for Italian. The dinner rolls and butter are always delicious. I usually order the Mostacioli de Bari or the "New York Style" Lasagna. The mostacioli is to die for. It is pieces of filet mignon in a cream sauce with mushrooms and noodles. OMG I am getting hungry just thinking about it. My fiancé is vegetarian and he always orders the eggplant parmesan. It is really good too. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is pretty friendly. They are definitely deserving of 5 stars!

I eat here a lot! I'm Italian and grew up with mamma's home-made. So, I'm very particular with Italian Restaurants. It is one of the best I've been to. Good Pizza, good entrees, generous portions, and 3 dollar martinis! The Chicken cacciatore is wonderful. So is the lamb shank. Finally, one of the ways I judge is by reading the names of the dishes in Italian. If they are spelled correctly that's a good sign. They are at Giorgio's .

  • Louie Y.

Service is crap. This is why we haven't eaten here in over 2 years. Tonight we went in for a single-item to-go order, and watched someone with a larger order placed after mine pick up before I did. Then the manager had the gall to snap at me that I'd not even been waiting for 25 minutes, even if I had been told that my order would be up in 15-20. Told him to his face that service there was sh*t.

Love this place. We are vegetarian, and always have loved italian food. This place is specially our favorite. We have been visiting this place for last 15 years. We have also done pickup a few times for party. One time they let us borrow their buffet servers for the night. That worked out very well.

My review is only for the pizza - we ordered take out and so far exceed all other places we've had lately. The dough was full of flavor, crust was thick, topping looked fresh, etc. I'm getting hungry thinking about it. We will probably dine in someday and try out the full menu.

This review is for the Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich purchased for lunch on Wednesday 02-05-2014. I have had this choice of sandwich many times but the chef today made it outstanding. The bread was perfect, wasn't greasy on the outside and all and all was delicious. Keep up with that great recipe.

"Meh" is the perfect word for the Giorgio's experience. first of all, it's ALWAYS busy... The food is mediocre, and that is being a little generous. I have ordered the pizzas and many of the pasta dishes. I have never thought anything was delicious. Just edible. I have gone multiple times only because the location is very convenient for me. I have to believe that most of the people that are packing in here all the time are doing it also out of convenience. If you're looking for good Italian-style food, this is NOT the place.

I love this place. Top quality service and great food. But my first experience with this place wasn't eating here. I was actually canvasing the area for an event I was putting on. One of the Brother's had let me post my flyer in the window, just as long as it was parallel to the window frame. I love the attention to detail and the fact they are a community-oriented, family owned business. Win-win-win. About 6 months later my friend introduced me to Giorgio's. We went here with my family. I got myself a Calzone, I was surprised to realize that it was a large portion. Too much to eat, so I had leftovers. It was the best Calzone I've ever had! Crunchy on the outside, flavorful on the inside without being too heavy. I have since been back for a second time, the service was just as great. They are consistent, so they would be great if you want to bring friends or family. You know they'll do a great job and you're family won't ask you "why did you bring us here." Because of the area there are a lot of OLD people that go to this location. I mean people in their 70s and 80s, but don't let that scare you... the food is not bland and they add to long standing tradition that seems to make this restaurant a great place to eat. They sell real food. Not cheap $5 Pizzas, or overpriced $20 Pizzas that are delivered in 20 minutes or less. There are other chain restaurants for that. You get what you pay for here in quality and service.

Really good food, Quality is good. I would recommend it, I have not tried there pizzas but there pastas are really good, such as the Penne Calabrese, I have this one every time, or the Eggplant Parmigiana these are really good dishes. I'm a big pasta fan, most of all there pasta dishes are delicious. Good place for family or friends and there catering is good, includes plates and utensils, they let you borrow there food warmer. The manager Bryan, he is very nice.

We've gotten food togo only so far, but each time has been great! Enjoy the food very much! We've gotten spaghetti, raviolis, lasagna, manicotti, chicken rigatoni alfredo, Italian sausage, salad and minestrone. We went last night for togo and got the chicken alfredo, salad and minestrone. And oh man was the minestrone amazing! I loved it and will go back just for that! It has a good amount of veggies and cheese tortellini in it too. Wonderfully balanced soup. Yummy! The manicotti is gorgeous and delicious. Red marinara, alfredo and pesto sauce lined on this deliciously put together cheese manicotti served with garlicky spinach. I would def suggest the manicotti here! The chicken rigatoni was good. Alfredo sauce tasted like they use white wine in it which is yummy. Spaghetti was good as well, I like their marinara sauce, just have to say for my hubby and I that there was just not enough sauce for the spaghetti or our raviolis. That was our main complaint about it, I would love to dine in here one night and sit outside on the patio with all the pretty white lights. It looks so inviting and romantic. Since we have a one year old, we haven't yet but maybe one night in the future! Desserts look tempting, I want to try their molten lava cake. And they always have 2$ brownies at the togo counter that tempt me but haven't tried them yet! Next time! Thank you for the consistently good food!

We came here for the first time and the food was great! They give you bread and butter to start with and their butter is very soft and very flavorful. We ordered the bruschetta as appetizer and the ingredients were very fresh and the bread was very soft but crunchy at the same time. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was delicious as well as the fries my boyfriend ordered spaghetti with meatballs and he loved it. The service was okay and that's why I'm giving this place 4 stars, however we will definitely be back we enjoyed it very much!

The food was just OK, and most of the pasta dishes came with the creamy white sauce. The waiter wasn't very helpful with explaining the dishes and the house bread we got was totally burnt on one side. Wouldn't go back here.

I have been a customer of Giorgio's for over 43 years, this was always our family and friends go to place for lunch and dinner, I can't tell you how many meals i have enjoyed here. But no more the last 4 times I have been here my food has been just so so. When they remodeled this restaurant they also changed the menu. Last night I ordered the Chicken Parmesan when my food came the spinach was ozzing with olive oil, the spaghetti was luke warm the chicken was hot, it was apparent that it had been previously frozen,it was tough to cut, the chicken did not look or taste like it had been breaded, there was a marinara sauce over it and the mozzarella cheese was almost non existant ..... Definately not the quality of food I had come to expect from Giorgio's. I will say that my husband ordered the Santa Margarhita pizza the dough was light, and the toppings were perfect.

One of the best places in San Jose to have Italian food. I like this place and I don't even really like Italian food! The marinara sauce is season to perfection. Great portions too! The baked pasta and lasagna are really yummy. They also have great pizzas. I'm a fan. I try to come here every time I'm in town.

I have been going to Giorgio's since I was a kid. We had a foodie friend in town and she just loved it. The New York pizza with added Gorgonzola is a regular order for us. We always do take out so I can't talk to the service for eating in.

i had a terrible time here. my husband has been wanting to eat here for years and i should have stayed steadfast on not wanting to eat here. (because of the mixed reviews) after the niners vs. panthers playoff ended, we decided to have a late lunch. got seated right away and shortly after, our rotund waiter came to take our order. he was cordial but i wouldn't say very attentive. he literally came to take order, refill soda once, placed food on table and the bill. never asked "How is the food or sorry for the wait." we ordered a large mushroom pizza with thin crust, clam and mussels linguine in natural sauce and a garlic bread. the food took awhile to get to our table. garlic bread came and it was luke warm, dry and boring. we ate that and waited for our main courses...and waited and waited. must have waited 20 or more minutes and not one inquiry or check-in on us from the waiter. he was too busy caring for his other 3 tables. our food finally came and with one look at the pizza, i knew it was not going to be good. pizza was luke warm, dry, soggy and hardly had any sauce. it was equivalent to Dominos pizza. for 20.00, i would think to at least get a crispy dough pizza but it was just awful. as for the pasta, it was al dente but that was the only thing they got right. we asked for natural sauce so basically any restaurant would cook seafood in some wine, lots of garlic and some butter..add some stock maybe and that would be perfection. but it tasted like a can of chicken stock was poured into the seafood and ready to be served. oh, there was green onion in the dish. what true italian restaurant adds green onion to clams linguine??? the entire experience was just terrible. we wasted 50.00 for junk. if other yelpers think i do not know my pizza and pastas, wrong you are. lived in north beach for 30 years, grew up on this stuff and this place should not even be on anyones radar. people, venture out of what you think is good italian food..

I'd give 3 stars for food and 2 for service. I'll start with service - it's not BAD but it's spotty. The staff isn't rude, but they are either totally inefficient or are totally understaffed. It's just a lot of time in between interactions with anyone who works there. The other reason service gets 2 stars is the fact that little things (like the kids' menu when you have a 3 year old) would be nice. I know people are busy, but if the host/hostess's job is to seat you with menus - then I kind expect the kid's menu too. (They are batting about .500 on this point). Food. It's not bad. It's not great. It's pretty average Italian food. The portions are decent sized though, you do get some value for what you pay... We go when we have a craving for "not-fancy Italian" and no one in the house wants to cook. Oh - last bit of warning - this place is ridiculously busy in the evenings. Go early or be prepared to wait.

Let me start off by saying you have to try their sausage bread appetizer! It looked interesting on the menu and we loved it! I had the special which was penne pasta with a pomodoro alfredo sauce with shrimp and chicken. While I didn't find any shrimp on my plate I was willing to overlook it since it was delicious anyways. My husband had the NY Lasagna which was delicious as well and had lots of gooey cheese just the way it should be lol. You get a really large portion for your money which is good these days! We'll definitely be back!

Our family went there yesterday, January 3rd 2013, only because we had $50 worth of gift certificates. I remembered why my husband and I haven't come back here for the last decade. From the outset we had a shabby experience. We came in around 4:30, no other customers waiting to be seated, not a busy time, yet we were completely ignored by the fellow (Bryan) at the register. We kept walking between the counter seating area where he stood at the register chatting with someone and the podium/desk to the right where the sign, 'PLEASE WAIT TO BE SEATED' is posted, no one was there and Bryan refused to acknowledge the 5 of us, not making eye contact or letting us know someone would be with us in a moment. Bad start. My husband and I almost walked out after about 5 frustrating minutes of this. However, a fellow who would be our waiter, Cloromiro came out and in a friendly manner had us seated. The food to follow, as I will describe, is an insult to Italian cuisine. I just want to say that Cloromiro was the best part of the meal, he obviously gets it that people are coming to a restaurant for good food (which we didn't get) AND service, he was warm and friendly and everything you'd want in a waiter. Let me begin with the basic tomato sauce-cheese pizza my daughter and I shared. It is mostly a dense thick overwhelming crust...this offering is an affront to all good pizza! Okay, I guess the tomato sauce, in flavor, was acceptable, but the overall texture was a colossal disappointment. I lived in New York where even the Little hole in the wall backwater pizzeria knows how to make a proper pizza where the crust takes its rightful backseat to the sauce but first and foremost the cheese! Whatever cheese they are using, it was too thick and gloppy. I don't understand how this place has survived for as long as it has, it may be at folks just don't realize how much better authentic Italian truly is. Let's turn to the pasta--my husband had some chicken tomato sauce linguine which he found equally unremarkable. My two other girls had plain spaghetti with butter and cheese, tomato sauce on the side, hard to mess up. The salad, a Caesar, was good but in no way a stand out from Caesars I've had in other places, but no offering of fresh cracked pepper I noticed. If it was really cheap I might not note that.

Thanks to a very good manager who "get's it" when it comes to listening to his customers, we were offered a make up dinner on the house for my last horrible experience. I asked for him when I arrived and he shook my hand and greeted and apologized again. Additionally he told me not to basically get expensive things by joking that I "shouldn't order the lobster." They don't have any but I guess his point was to not take advantage of his largesse - not my intent either but kind of awkward. I ordered our usual dinners again - cannelloni, chicken limone, meatballs and spaghetti, an antipasto and lasagna. It was all very good - hot, fresh, tasty. The way it should always be and with service as it should be. Of course, I tipped the server who packed up the food, but as I left the manager wasn't around - but I said thanks and promised an update on Yelp. Stay tuned - we'll see if an anonymous visit to Giorgio's prompts the same great food and excellent service as when the staff was trying to impress the manager (honestly they didn't seem all that concerned about me, but the cashier was awesome and I would compliment her directly since she had no idea why I was there when I walked in.)

Yet another outing as a group for dinner. We picked this spot on a recommendation from one of our dinner group (we go to dinner about once a month). So there was a large group of us (about 8), so we had to wait a little bit to get seated, which was fine it gave us time to talk and look the menu over. Once we were seated our server was right there ready to take drink orders and bring us bread. Normally I like fast service and enjoy the checking in, but this seemed a little to rushed. I get the idea and importance of get them in, get them fed and get them out, but it seemed a little too pushy for my taste. It was a Friday night so I know turnover is important. Once we got settled and did our ordering we got a chance to enjoy. The place was busy and crowed but really not at all bad. The food was really good. We all ordered different items so we got a chance to try a variety of things. The Calzone, which I ordered, was huge and excellent. It has a nice brown flaky outside and a cheesy rich inside, very nicely done. There was enough for two people (or two meals). Overall it was a good place and the food was fresh and tasty. Even the service, once our waitress took a breath, seemed to cool her jets by the time dessert came around.

Service is terrible, you guys need to help the economy by hiring employees. Our server came to our table thrice- to get order, deliver our food and for the bill. Did not even bother to ask how our food was. We dined for 1.5 hours.

Alright, this is where I go when I need some Italian food and I don't care how many calories I'm going to consume. I came here for my birthday and got my favorite, the Penne Calabrese-it's wonderful with it's tomato cream sauce. I love that sauce so much, that this place inspired me to go on the hunt to find a recipe like theirs. I eventually did, but I don't always feel like cooking, and they do it right. Their desserts are delicious too. And their garlic butter they give you for an appetizer. It's my favorite Italian place close to home, and I'm half Italian, so I should know!

Regular waiter here decided to eyeball me up and down when I asked for the kiddie menu. As if a 42-yr-old woman would want the kiddie menu for myself! Then, when I pointed to my daughter (idiot!), he then eyed her up and down as well....taking in the fact that she's developed very early. As much as I didn't appreciate him rudely sizing us up, he took it a step further and told us very curtly that we couldn't order her mac and cheese because it was for children 10 and under. I was done with them at that point and told the manager what happened and that we would not be returning. As if I was trying to scam them by buying a kid meal for a teenager. I make enough money not to have to pass off my child as anything but what she is: A 9-yr-old who likes mac and cheese. F--- that. Seethingly put off by that treatment.

Always a favorite of mine. It's a little hole in the wall, fabulous Italian place that will knock your socks off! Fri-Sat are their busy nights, but if you want cocktail while you wait just go up to the bar and they'll gladly take care of you! Food and service is wonderful, if you want a booth make sure you request before hand because they only have four since it's a small place. Good food, good prices, overall great place :)

I've had dinner there 3 times in the last 4 months and each experience has been different. Service has varied from slow and indifferent to moderate and personable. The place is generally full and parking is sometimes difficult for handicapped customers. They have a large menu and a varied wine/beer list. Their food is fair to good and portions are typically generous. Generally, a decent place for a family meal.

Okay - well, it's probably time that Georgio's and I part ways. INTRO: We were in the area last Thursday for a softball game and felt like Italian. Since daughter is in uniform, we needed someplace casual. We also needed someplace with easy parking as daughter is newly minted at driving. Georgio's was close and has parking. SEATING: We were seated immediately. No issues with seating. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer. I liked that the bread was toasted but still soft rather than so crisp that it breaks. All told, it was very good save for one little issue with a tomato stem/core. (Note to kitchen: Remove the stem and attached core. It's not edible.) ORDERING: We then ordered our entrees as well as the Antipasto Salad for four. MIL and I ordered eggplant parmesan Daughter ordered angel hair pasta with tomatoes DH order salmon risotto ANTIPASTO: The antipasto salad arrives and it's wonderful looking. It tastes good too. Crisp lettuce, flavorful salumi's, fresh mozzarella, tangy pepperoncini, sweet roasted peppers. And then.... a thick chunk of lettuce core. *sigh* (Note to kitchen: Remove the core. It's not edible.) ENTREES: Our entrees arrive. Right away, MIL and I question our entrees because it looks like meatballs under cheese. Nope. It was eggplant. Small, tiny pieces of eggplant about 1-1/2" wide, scattered about the middle of the plate, covered in sauce and barely melted cheese. Nothing like wide layered slices baked in sauce and melty, gooey cheese. To boot, the eggplant was tough, bitter and chewy. It dawned on me these were the necks of the eggplant. The parts nearest the stem. (Note to kitchen: Don't use that part of the eggplant. It's bitter, tough and somewhat inedible.) The spinach was grey and muddy. The spaghetti refreshing after the eggplant and spinach. Daughter liked her pasta. DH liked his salmon risotto. I think they would have nailed our meal if they would have steered clear of those stems and cores and lightly sauteed the spinach rather than killing it. Tonight, I am making a proper eggplant parmesan.

I have eaten here for years. My boyfriend and I love their calzones and we went in for some. We ended up having to wait for over an hour for them. We had to remind our server to bring us our soups and when they got there they were cold. When the calzones came they did not include the pesto sauce inside as I asked for. The server did not apologize but just asked if I wanted them to make another one. I declined since it would take another half hour. Then halfway through our calzones my boyfriend and I were commenting on the ingredients in our calzones and realized they had switched our calzones. When we talked to the manager he did not seem very apologetic. He offered to have mine made over since I only ate half but didn't even offer to remake my boyfriends. They took our calzones off the bill which was good. I understand sometimes mistakes happen but their attitude towards us was very disappointing.

Came here last Friday. Arrived at 6:30 thinking we were early enough to avoid the crowds. I was wrong but that's OK. We ended up waiting 40 minutes which is what they told us the wait was so our expectations were met regarding the wait. Once seated our server was very friendly and considering how jam packed they were, he was timely and helpful. I usually get the pizza, which I LOVE but this time we all decided to get pasta. Oh my goodness!!! It was delish! I loved every bite. Now I have a conundrum; do I order the pizza I love or do I try all the different pastas next time? Doesn't matter, I know I'll be happy with either.

I've been coming to this place for years, as it ranks pretty high on my list of pizzerias. It still does, however some things has changed over the years. I don't want to blame the economy, but I do remember when the pizzas had to be eaten with a fork because buckled under the weight of so many ingredients. I do remember when the calamari fritti used to be a meal in itself. I do remember when the sausage bread was more sausage and less bread. I do want things to go back to the way it was, but hey...I also want gas under a dollar. Still a good place to bring the family, but expect a wait on weekends as it still ranks high on other people's list...mine included, but it has slipped over the years.

I think this family restaurant is great! The portions are large, the quality is very good and the price is well within reason. Their pizzas are top quality and, the ultimate test, the leftovers are very good when reheated. When a menu offers so many good choices that it is hard to decide which one to have, then you know you have come to the right place. Giorgios's is always full, whether you are there for dinner or lunch. I just made dinner reservations for tomorrow night and can hardly wait.

Attended a bday party. Large family. But all we got was that small corner. Must say it was a brilliant idea to start the party at 3 in the afternoon. Cos the dinner crowd was crazy packed. The food was good. I was expecting nuked pasta but it was actually well prepared. The calamari fritti was decent as was the ravioli campare. My bf got the clams for appetizer. A lil disappointing I must say. Tiny clams. the cream base was a watery but it had flavor. I got the chicken and shrimp fettuccine and my bf got the eggplant parmigiana. Both were satisfactory. I was expecting bad thank to yelp but it turned out ok. The problem was the service. Most of us didn't notice it coz of the commotions but they were literally trying to kick us out. 5 minutes after the main course arrived, they were passing out to-go boxes. I was like WTF? but oh well. So we were chewing our food and packing the rest. Then they deliver the checks. NO ONE ASKED FOR IT. My bf was looking to go anyways so were got the card out. But our server was busy collecting payments from other. So we waited. And then.. surprise!! they bring us plastic bags. That gave away everything. two full table, almost 30 of us and none were ready to leave coz no one managed to finish their food. Totally disapointing. I understand you need the space for your other customers but seriously... totally rude.

This review is for the take-out and our first time having Giorgio's food. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza and it was very good. I also ordered the NY-style lasagna and BLT wedge salad and I'll have to say it was very disappointing because: 1) the lasagna was salty! My husband and I thought it was just the sausage but the whole thing was just too salty; 2) the iceburg lettuce wedge looked like it had been sitting in the refrigerator for a while because the edges were dark and it was limp. The salad wasn't dressed, everything was on the side, which made the poor state of the lettuce quite obvious. The pizza made up for the extra star.

I live right down the street, and this is our go-to restaurant! We get their pizza for sleep overs and game days, ministrone soup just cuz it's cold out, and it's perfect for birthdays with a big family. Any restaurant that gives you bread or chips gets bonus points in my book, but their bread and herb butter is hot, soft and the best you'll ever have! You can't go wrong with any of their pizzas, calzones, chicken parm, ministrone or seafood. You can get appetizers at the bar and watch a game, or dress up for a nice, affordable date. Great atmosphere, but you can always get it to go.

This place used to be so good. What happened? Not only was our food order wrong, it was HORRIBLE. Really bad. And to top it off, instead of correcting the order, our waitress argued with us about what we ordered. I ordered the same dish I always order. I KNOW what I ordered. It was a horrible experience all together. So disappointing.

I've been coming here for YEARS! It used to be my favorite place for dinner. I even had a birthday party here once. Ever since they remodeled it's gone way down hill. The wait time once you're seated is horrific. We go in with a group of 5 adults and 3 kids, all under 7 and it takes over 2 hours for us to order, get our food and leave. It's really bad. The kids are nuts before the food even comes. I've been in with just my husband and son and it's still over 2 hours. We've given it a few tries to see if it was "a newly remodeled thing", but it's not. It's just bad now. I think they missed out on a big opportunity. While making the takeout more of a priority, they have greatly downgraded the service of the rest of the restaurant. I'm sad that we won't be coming for dinner here anymore. It's just too much for the kids to have to wait. HOWEVER, I must say that Frankie, Johnny and Luigi's Too on Saratoga is fantastic and we'll be going there from now on, or Tomato Thyme.

I've been going to Giorgio's for years when I crave some good Italian food. Giorgio's is almost always packed, and rightfully so. They have fantastic Italian pasta dishes and thick and flavorful pizzas. The D'Ambrosio family also owns a sausage factory in Santa Clara, Nicolino's Garden Cafe and Frankie, Johnnie and Luigi's. The past two football seasons, I've used Giorgio's to cater our fantasy football drafts. Six or seven pies, ravioli, caesar salad and garlic bread easily stuffs 14 fat, friggin football fans. The sausage bread with marinara is a delicious starter, and I just love their Mostacioli de Bari (filet mignon gorgonzola pasta)... Especially if the meat isn't too tough (it can be). But when I go to Giorgio's I usually go straight for the pizza. They have these huge pizzas with thick crust and perfect sauce. (The sauce and the homemade sausage is what makes Giorgio's stand out to me). Every pizza I've tried there - from loaded to simple have been the shizznit. I suggest any pizza lover gives Giorgio's a shot.

WASTE of money!!!! It's been awhile since I've yelped, but this deserved a severe warning to those considering this restaurant!!! I have two children, so I appreciate a timely meal, this meal took 2 hours once we were seated!!! It took forever to get the waitress to come to the table and get our drink order, and after that it was 20-30 min intervals between drinks, salads, meals, check, and signing the check. My kids were falling asleep at the table it took so long. Seated at 6 and left at 8 pm. The food was not even worth the wait. I got the veal marsala, yuck, it tasted like a cafeteria meal, the mashed potatoes weren't even mashed, bland, and the vegetables too bland and undercooked. My husband had the risotto, double yuck! The table behind us had to rudely interrupt the waitress at the table over because it took so long to get the check and get out of there! She said they had waited so long and had to leave. We understood their frustration. I'm not sure if it is a problem of being under staffed both in front and back house, but this was TERRIBLE. I will not be returning, and don't understand the packed house, I guess people like to give money away for crappy service and food.

I really, really, really like their pasta. And sausage. And bread. And garlic butter. Carb and carnivore heaven, this is. I only knock a star off because it's INSANELY BUSY at night and you'd have a much more pleasant (and quickly served) meal during the lunch hour. The pasta's also super fresh at lunch.

So they have a new face and we go back hoping to have a new experience. Not so. We arrive and there are three people behind the hostess station, all three leave without acknowledging us. We were the only people standing there. A very fast talking young lady shows up, neither of us understood what she was saying, off she went then came back and sat us. So sit we did, and sit, and sit. No water, no bread no acknowledgment. At one point our waitress who was serving a neighboring table said she'd be with us shortly. Later now it's been at least 10 minutes, a busser brings water to a neighboring table. Eventually he stops and ask, would you like something to drink. Yes, please two waters, no ice and please, some bread (we were very hungry), and we are also ready to order. He informed us he is not our server but did take our order. He arrived later with two glasses of water WITH ice. No bread. This non-multi tasking continued. Our very bubbly waitress arrives with our salads. I ordered the Chicken Prawn Lemone' and I could not taste any lemon at all, the chicken was very tender and a nice portion, two small prawns (shrimp) small portion of garlic mash potatoes, some parts of them were cold while other hot. The sound level is way to high, it was difficult to have a conversation. When the bill arrived we are passport diners and because it was Halloween, they refused to honor the discount, after all, it's a holiday. Seriously. The over all experience was disappointing. It's a place for large groups and family. But the staff needs some training.

I have gone to Giorgio's for awhile now. Not often enough to say I'm a fan, but enough to say that I wouldn't turn it down. Helps when it's one of your friends favorite places to go. Services is normally very good, and the pizza has never once been bad. The worse I could say is that they made a pizza with onions once on it and we explicitly said no to it. They put it in a to go box for us and gave another pizza and comp'ed it all. Mostly, I am only there for one item. The large Giorgio Special. The meat pizza of the place. It is loaded with sausage, pepperoni, ham, and whatever I might have forgotten. I suppose if you go there for other Italian food it is good (according to my family), but if you are going to a place that is revered for Pizza, you may as well get pizza. Duh, right? Definitely worth the trip, better in groups and has a wonderful family atmosphere

I live just a few blocks form Giorgio's, and I have easily eaten here over 100 times. The food here has always been very good, and the prices are very reasonable. The services can be slow, ironically during the off hours, as they are sometimes understaffed, but its usually not that bad. I highly recommend the tortellini Alfredo, one of the cheaper options on the menu, as well as any dish here with their sausage, which is delicious. My vegetarian-ish girlfriend always orders the eggplant Parmesan, which she loves. They also serve quality salads, soups, and pizzas. The family meal deal here is one of the best deals in San Jose. Its usually about $50 with tax included. For that, you get a large cheese pizza, ribs or barbecued chicken (highly recommended), spaghetti or rigatoni, salad, and bread. This meal easily feeds my hungry family of 5, plus a few friends for 2 whole nights. We get it to go, and have pizza and salad one night, pasta and chicken the next. This is a cheap and easy way to feed a large number of people some very high-quality food. All-in-all, a great place, more high quality food for your dollar than almost anywhere else.

This is a local neighborhood restaurant. You shouldn't have to wait 45-minutes just to sit down for a pizza in your neighborhood, yet this has happened every time we go there (unless you go before 5pm). Last I checked they don't take reservations. They should start. Then they can control the timing of traffic. It's not that complicated. Service is slow. The food is average. Nothing special. Pizza's ok. Calamari is chewy. The 45-minute wait means I will go almost anywhere else first.

My first time here, very large open areas, very well designed, tables nicely spaced, staff very friendly and courteous. So, to start off I ordered a cup of their sausage and bean soup, Wow... Excellent! And I thought this could be the beginning of a great find. The half order of lasagna was very good, my friend ordered a baked noodle with ham, olives and mozzarella cheese on top-- interesting combo, but it was lacking. The menu had described it with marinara demi-glaze. The dish had a little water at the bottom and definitely in need of a rich smattering of fresh marinara sauce to make the dish come together. Will go back and try other dishes, and oh, we split the Tiramisu-- sorry rich but "plain," it was missing the espresso coffee layer- so I could not say, "delicious!" Don't want to forget, I eat at a lot of Italian restaurants and the prices here are VERY reasonable, unlike many other restaurants that charge nearly $20 bucks for a bowl of pasta. Much appreciated.

We should've taken our neighbors hint but I was going on a recommendation. The place seems clean and staff friendly enough. The food, not so great. Way over priced for what it was. Hours later, I still have this overly processed food aftertaste which isn't pleasant. I should've taken hint #2 when watching the pizza makers and noticing the ingredients didn't look that quality. I had actually started looking up other Italian places in the area but decided to stay since we were already in the house. I had a cannellini bean salad but it was disjointed. The avocados and tomatoes were not fresh and lacked flavor. For main dish, I had a filet mignon Gorgonzola dish. I have never had filet with fat and gristle and that was in several bites. My wife's run of the mill house salad had an errant, soggy piece of bread in it. Still, not so fresh salad ingredients. She had the fish of the day dish which turned out to be the farm-raised, frozen fish of the week as far as taste goes. Covered with what seemed to be a large amount of canned ingredients topping the fish. Waaaay too processed and salty. My sons meatball on the spaghetti was actually good. The surprise of the evening for sure. I didn't understand the tall green plants in the eating area. The hanging vines or leaves look, sure but the green plants that seemed to hover over one table was weird. Next time I tell my neighbor where we are going for dinner and they look at me sideways and say, "Their pizza is good" while telling me a place in Santa Clara they enjoy, I will take the hint.

Used to go to Giorgio's in Milpitas when I worked in the area. LOVED the meatball sandwich. Went to the Foxworthy site with my husband, grandmother and daughter night before Easter. Wasn't too busy and we were seated straight away. Grammy and I split the spaghetti and meatballs. I never get spaghetti at resturants...don't know why? Anyway, I was so happy to have a meatball and spaghetti...almost as good as my old Italian neighbors who makes her pasta from scratch! Everyone enjoyed their meal and we can't wait to go back. I know that Giorgio's and Frankie, Johnnie and Luigi's, but I really never liked F.J.L. as much as Giorgio's. Love the meatballs!! :)

CASE OF THE CURIOUS CANNOLI It was a hot summer night. I needed to "beat the heat" or "escape the scene" if you take my meaning. That's when "she" walked through the door. I could tell by the way that she was dressed, that she was in the mood for something hot and spicy. We headed to Giorgio's in San Jose... We ordered the sausage bread appetizer. A warm, fluffy loaf of bread, filled with sausage and mozzarella cheese. The marinara dipping sauce slid down the bread slices like stockings on a sexy dame. I washed the mouthful of bliss down with a bottle of Fat Tire Beer. When our entrees arrived, I couldn't help but keep staring at her big, round, juicy....meatballs! The spaghetti dish that she ordered had meatballs that would steam up anybody's windows. The service was good. The atmosphere was just what the doctor ordered for that night. CASE CLOSED

Bummed out! We usually order the pizza to go. For that I give 5 stars. Just do not eat there. Service is not good. Waited 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged out existence. She asked if we had time to review the menu, I said "plenty" to which she told us it was a shift change...I would have settled for a simple, "sorry." I'm sticking to take out Pizza only!

I have lived in willow glen my whole life. I remember when this place had those ugly purple wine leaves on the ceiling. Back in the "old days" it was the best pizza in sj. Great sauce, loads of cheeze and toppings & the crust...omg like bakery french bread. Now its right up there with dominios....the cheeze is flavorless & the crust is thin and chewy. But since I lived down the street its an easy meal. Make sure you check the quality & quanity of your take out orders...sometimes its not up to par. (missing bread, half full orders, missing sauces..ect) If you want great Itialian food...LA VILLA DELI on Lincoln. God cant make better raviolis !! Anyways...this place is average at best. One thing to the owners...i would get your money back from the architech who designed the new layout....it gets congetsted with people waiting for tables and those picking up to go orders...& the bar is the size of a walk in closet. GOOD JOB Plus its overpriced for the quality of the food. ...large all meat pizza $26.00 Please bring back the "old Georgios" I miss it !!

Been going to this restaurant for many years, but haven't been there in the past couple years. We've been going to 'Frankie, Johnnie and Luigi's'. But we were in the neighborhood and decided to try Giorgios. We ordered the Garlic, Basel and tomato pizza. We were only able to eat a piece each because it was over the top in garlic. Not enjoyable. They should name that pizza Heavy Garlic Lovers. We expressed our non satisfaction of the pizza to our waitress Bernice. She apologized and then went to talk to manager. The answer we got back is that the manager wasn't going to do anything and that was it. The waitress apologized multiple times. She seemed unhappy with the answer also. The most bothersome point is that the manager wasn't even man enough to address our issue in person, sent his waitress to do the dirty work. Now I realize why we do not frequent this place. That's sad since 'Frankie, Johnnie and Luigi's' is now closed.

I really like the pasta dishes here ! Can't go wrong with the Penne Calabrese ( my fav ) or the Mostaciolli di Bari ( 2nd fav ). The pizza is good if you eat it all while there or while hot. Its weird, but the cheese is not the same the next day when you re-heat it. It just doesn't taste as good ( to me ) the next day or when its cold. The salads are pretty good and the fresh baked dinner rolls are the bomb ! Calamari is ok. Plenty of good dishes to choose from. So far most of them have been pretty good. The N.Y. Style Lasagna was a bit disappointing as the sausage seems to be almost non existent. But overall a great family restaurant !!

We have been to Dinner here about 4 times now and haven't been disappointed. They have great service, their drinks are super cheap, their Alfredo and marinara sauce are amazing. Their meatballs were the best I have ever tried! They have a small pizza that is jam packed with toppings and could feed 3 people. Love it here. Go try it you will become a regular!

Went here just the other day along with my family. I ordered the chicken fettuccine and the pasta was way undercooked and hard (not al dente). After letting a staff member know, I was brought another fettuccine dish promptly. It was still undercooked but a little better. Also, the chicken could have also used a little more flavor and less dryness. Our salads kinda looked like they were slapped together. It seems like they rush plates out and often overlook the details in the food. Next time, I'll probably just skip this place and drive a little further down to Mama Mia's.

This is the first time I visited the restaurant after they remodeled it. Prior the remodel I had very good experiences in both, dinning in and the take out food. We arrived at the restaurant this time around 8 pm, it was extremely crowded and We thought We would had to wait forever but instead, as soon as the manager saw us walking in, He gave us a table, it was by the door but oh well...no wait on a busy day? I take it!. It took a bit for the waitress to notice We had no waters but she gave us the menu right when We sat so by the time she came back with the water We already knew what to order...from appetizers to drinks soooo... Food was good, drink was strong but not tasty(lemon drop martini) and overall my experience was good. The manager talked to us a couple of times while we ate our meal (a very polite and smart guy) It's a bit noisy when they have full house so be aware of it if you want to go for a romantic dinner. they honored my 10 dlls off coupon and our waitress was good too. I will come back to this place.

I recently rediscovered this place after having gone here for years as a kid. I love it even more now. I think they have the best and most authentic pizza in the U.S. The decor is funky but it works. The service is good and very efficient. The manager is a super friendly and capable guy who goes out of his way to let you know he is happy you came in. I love the sausage here and they make it themselves (I think) at a sister company in San Jose. I had my b-day here with 20 people and everything was delicious, plentiful and again very good service despite it being a busy Saturday night. You can buy pizza dough to go and make your own pie at home which I might try, but then of course, I would have to buy the sausage and the sauce...maybe I will just go there and eat : ) Try it, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Of all the associated restaurants in this family(Two Guys from Italy; Frankie, Johnny, and Luigi's) this one is the original Giorgio's and by far the best. Great food, great service, great ambiance, and now a nice little bar area and larger waiting area! We love this place. My favorite pizza in Silicon Valley...

I can't believe the great service here. We had 15 people here for a farewell lunch. There were separate checks, a cake brought in, lots of standing around conversation BUT we had a table reserved in the back, Our waiter was patient, attentive and anticipated all our needs. Our orders were all delivered correctly and timely and everyone had a great time. Please ignore the bad service comments on this site, it is very surprising to me that anyone would not love a gathering at this restaurant. 15 people in a group could not be wrong!

I don't know if this is a mom and pop store, but I love the family-oriented vibe and the cheesy decor. The NEW YORK STYLE PIZZA, CAPRESE, and PEACH ITALIAN SODA are my favorite. The portion and price are reasonable. The wait can be a bit long, so if you're impatient, get the pizza to go.

I have been coming to this place for over 10 year, and I am certain Giorgio's is the best pizza in town! The Italian food is good, but this is a great place for pizza. They recently remodeled the interior and made it much bigger. The staff is friendly, and I recommend this place.

Everything is good and fresh. Great garden salad, pizza, pasta, calzones... heck, even the free bread is great if you dont splurge on the sausage bread :) Only minor downside... a bit pricey!

Fantastic ravioli and marinara sauce. Service is usually good, sometimes it is very good. Host and hostess are usually frazzled by volume of customers but don't let that dissuade you. You will truly enjoy the food. On weekend call ahead. Osso buco is also very good.

My husband and I were really excited to have a neighborhood restaurant when we moved to the south side of Willow Glen. We've gone to Giorgio's several times in the past few years, and we keep saying "I wish this place was a little better." We now go mainly for it's location (a few blocks from our house). And we just went for brunch this weekend and saw that the prices were really good - especially for their bar drinks ($3.95 Bloodys, Mimosas and Bellinis). But yet again, we commented to each other that the service at Giorgio's really is not very good. The wait staff is all very pleasant, but it just takes too darn long for your order to be taken and food to arrive. We have two little kids, and it's too hard for us to wait for 1 1/2 to get a seat on a Thursday night for dinner. I'm giving Giorgio's 3 stars mainly due to it's location and the fact that the food is alright (good, but not great). If I didn't live so close, I'd probably give it 2 stars.

This place gets half a star. I have been coming here off and on for almost 30 years, recently moved back to WG and decided to try the pizza for a family gathering we had yesterday. I ordered 3 pizzas - $70 and it was far from worth it, dismal actually. When I arrived to pick up the pizzas I was ignored completely by the manager and staff although there were very few patrons in the establishment (no wonder) When the manager finally got around to addressing me I gave him my name and what I was there for. This guy is a complete buffoon who has 0 customer service skills btw.. just an added bonus to trading with an inferior establishment. Well, guess what? They "forgot" to make 1 of the pizzas, they effed up a second one - apparantly they are incapable of making a pizza with a half and half combination and the veggie pizza actually looked decent at the time. No appology, no offer of compensation however we did receive a soda and a beer on the house AFTER we sat at the bar to WAIT for THEIR MISTAKE. The GB Marzen was flat.......figures So we finally bring our order home and I have to tell you I was embarrased to serve it to my family. The Veggie pizza was so soggy and disgusting it could not be eaten (unless you were starving) this thing was so effing gross I pitched it out. The others were barely edible at best. All of the pizzas were gross, try to grab a slice, hold it up from the soggy carton to put on a plate and OOOPS the only thing you have in your hand is a piece of crust because everything else has succumed to gravity and is laying in an oily, viscous mess on your plate. I could puke a mess more appetizing than that. This place has gone so far downhill it is sad. Do not come here for the non existent customer service, flat beer and disgusting food. This place just sucks out loud, do not waste your hard earned money coming here and being treated like they are doing you a favor by selling you crappy food.

Okay, maybe I'm biased here; but, Giorgio's is the standard for me for great Italian food. Sure, I worked there as a waiter over 15 years ago; but, I never stopped loving their food for one minute. Make sure you try: The Meatballs, pollo al cuore, pizza (of course), tortellini pomodoro alfredo, and the italian dressing on your salad. Oh, and the bolognese sauce, it's heaven.

Food was really good. They offer complimentary bread and butter with garlic! I'm a little bit disappointed with their service. Although their staff was nice, they were completely and ridiculously slow despite the fact that there were hardly any people dining in. Otherwise, they would've gotten 4 stars. Maybe next time Giorgio's?

Ok. I haven't been here in a long time because I remember the food being terrible but I was outvoted for family dinner so that's where we ended up. We started out with a good 20-30 minute wait even though it didn't seem very crowded. By the time we sat down it took so long for our waitress to get around to us we ordered drinks and food at the same time. It took over FORTY minutes to get our food. All of it was cold and had obviously been sitting out for a long time. The pizza was dry and tasteless. My caesar salad tasted like nothing. Lettuce with oil and a sprinkle of parmesan- how do you mess up a Caesar salad?!? Even the lemons in our waters were old! After that uhh..delightful meal we were definitely ready to get out of there...too bad our waitress never showed up again. We literally had to go find her. After tracking her down we got out of there two hours after originally arriving no more satisfied than the starving state we arrived in. I can safely say we won't be going there again.

Went for a pizza during the week. We were surprised that it was pretty crowded for a week night. This was the worst cardboard we have ever had there. I do have to say that the service was excellent though for a change, but that always depends on which server you get that night. We used to frequent Giorgio's, but it seems like they have just continued to go downhill. They probably don't even care what us yelpers write about them because they are usually crowded & have tons of people eating their thrown together menu items probably because half of them don't really know what italian food is SUPPOSED to taste like. We decided we are just not gonna go anymore. They still have a lot of cleaning to do also!!

Ordered a Luigi's Special from here a few weeks ago. Liked the toppings that came on it although the crust is a little bland/plain. The sauce also is OK, undistinguishable from any other pizza place. This is definitely better than chain restaurant pizza like Pizza Hut, Round Table, and Red Brick due to the sheer load of toppings. During the same visit, my friend ordered the Chicken and Sausage Cacciatore. The tough chicken and spicy sausage didn't seem to pair well with the overcooked spaghetti that it came with. I liked the sauce though but it was not enjoyable to eat overcooked pasta. I'll come back again for pizza, no question but for anything else, I will pass for now.

My family had been going here since my dad was a baby . Early 70's . Ever since this is our favorite place to come for pizza . Not the biggest restraunt in the world but they do phone orders And reservations too . The quality is what I love . I've worked food service for almost 10 years and I appreciate high quality food . I believe they even make all their own sauces from scratch , not to mention the fresh pizza dough . Recently they renovated and added a bar area with a tv and also have a happy hour . In my opinion this is my favorite pizza I've ever tried.

We went here for dinner last Saturday night, expecting a busy crowd, seeing as how it was the weekend... The wait was average for a busy restaurant and trying to get a table for a party of four - about 25 to 30 minutes. - The front desk was a little careless but once we were seated it was a completely different story! The service was great !!!! We had a waitress and I want to say her name was Patricia or Patty. She paid close attention to all of our needs and checked in on us even when we were waiting for our food to come out (Kitchen had taken a tad bit longer because of the weekend) We had sausage bread for an appetizer AMAZING!! For dinner I had the Mannacotti - It looks small but I was completely stuffed after only eating half and ended up saving the rest for lunch the next day! --- This was our first time back since the remodel - and we will definitely be back again! Also try the three dollar margaritas they are great quality for such a low price!!!

Quality. Quality. Quality. Not the best location though. Not near anything. But... If you are ever in a pizza contest and you have to show up with the best pizza, get the Franks Fiasco from this place and you will take home the win. The crust is amazing. And the toppings are top notch. And never forget to order the sausage bread. Order a whole loaf. The left overs are awsome too. Every other dish I have had here, i would order again. Bring your friends, family, or a date. This place rocks. If you introduce a friend to this place for their first time, you will be remembered by them as the person that took them to their new favorite spot.

Been coming here since I was a teenager (15+ years) and can't get enough of their garlic tomato basil pizza! We come here at least once or twice a month. Service is hit or miss. Had one really crappy experience here...when I called my usual pizza in and they said 30 mins or so....got there and asked if it was ready...young blonde girl said no. So I sat in the waiting area...5 feet away...waiting and waiting and waiting....until I finally decided to ask again...and low and behold my pizza was tucked under the counter. WTH? Why wasn't it under the heat w. The other pizzas? I looked on my phone log and my order was placed 46 mins from when I got my pizza in my hand...no sorry...nothing. The young kids that work there need to get trained a lil better. The manager has always been cool w. Us. And we do really like the food!

This place does well because there is a very limited selection of restaurants that don't involve the mall. Service is always slow and poor, often wondering who or if you have a server. The host (male) has an attitude and makes you feel like he is doing you a favor. Food is fair at best. I can make a better bolgnese and I am not Italian. If you want real Italian food with flavor and great service go to Original Joes. Well worth the drive.

Nice little neighborhood Italian spot, good for everyday dining. Great for groups, and excellent place to stretch your dollar and receive good value in return. If there is a wait, grab a drink because there are plenty of drink options, $3 Manhattan's and Margaritas, yayyy! Sausage bread lived up to the hype, it was excellent! If you cant decide between pizza or pasta, you dont have to worry because this place has both! We tried the Chicken and Sausage Cacciatore, it was just ok. The chicken was over cooked and not very flavorful. Linguine sauce was good, but the clams were not the freshest. Overall this is good homestyle place that we will visit again.

There is a huge crowd out in front of this place every weekend, so finally we decided to give it a shot. My son's karate place (also reviewed here on yelp) is just down the way in the same strip mall, so after class on Friday, we stopped in for dinner. Giorgio's was about what I was expecting: decent italian food, but nothing earthshattering, and mediocre to bad service. True, it was a busy Friday night, but the service was pretty spotty. The waiter was quick to arrive to take our order, and he brought our drinks quickly, saying he'd bring bread right away. Well, said bread never arrived, until I asked again for it, after about 20 min. After 30 min, the waiter came back and said that the pasta order was ready but my son's pizza was still not done because they were so busy and did we want them all together, or should he serve the pasta first? Well, we decided to get the pasta now so it wouldn't get cold. However, it was still lukewarm. Pasta was good, fairly hearty, with predictable sauces. As I said, nothing earthshattering. The pizza showed up about 10 minutes after the pasta did, and of course it was blazing hot, so my son couldn't even touch it for another 15 minutes. Frustrating... We didn't stay for dessert, but they looked good on the display rack. The place was mobbed. I guess I don't see what the big deal is. I probably won't be back except for pizza takeout after karate now and then.

This is such a great neighborhood place in Willow Glen. Brian, the manager, is fabulous! I like the Chicken Parmagiana here as its not breaded. It's lightly dusted with flour but there is no thick bread crust.

To their credit, they offered us 2 complimentary meals for our trouble. Still bad service, still mediocre food, but this time at least we were seated within the time given and the manager tried his best to make us happy. Won't go back but they have redeemed themselves somewhat for at least trying to make us happy.

This is probably the worst italian food I have ever eaten in my entire life. The nice girl that waited on us is the only reason for 1 star. I don't know how people can rate this restaurant highly if they have ever had good or even mediocre italian food. We will NEVER be back.

FOOD - DELICIOUS. The oreo dessert is FANTASTIC. Yum Yum Yum. 5 Stars to the food. --2 complaints (staff based)-- My complaint was our server. He was nice and on top of things, but did NOT know how to serve our wine properly. He kept filling our wine glasses to the very tip top and... why? Any wine steward knows that the wine needs to breathe and you never serve wine as if it were a coke. Finally, when I drank it down to the appropriate level, there was still about 1/4 left in the bottle. He came over and said, "Come on ladies. Lets finish the bottle" and filled it to the top again! First of all, wine is to be ENJOYED, not chugged! That was very annoying to me that he was doing this through out our entire dinner. I really didn't know what to say. I feared that if I suggested how he serve it and to allow us to take our time, he was going to spit in my food or just make our dinner unpleasant. When my friend and I entered the restaurant to be seated, the hostess did see us because I made eye contact with her. She got up and went to the back somewhere and never returned. After ten minutes of "waiting to be seated," we had to go get a bus boy to be seated. He seated us at a table that he said no one likes sitting. I wasn't really sure why and I was just fine sitting there, but I was a little perturbed to look around the room to see booths available. Hmph. *Sigh* Great food. Not the best staff.

We arrived just after 6pm on a weekday and our party of 8 got seated right away. Shortly after, the place started to fill up. Two XL pizzas, some sausage bread, and the free bread they bring out was more than enough food for 6 adults and 2 kids. Draft beer selection was somewhat lacking that night, so the server sold a couple of us on margaritas. They were just ok, but we were only charged happy hour price of $3 even though it was after 6. Pizzas are that nice, sort-of traditional style, not too thick, and not New York thin either. Try the Jonnie's favorite-- chicken, pesto, and small globs of ricotta. It sounded a bit like topping overload but was really quite good. I'd get it again.

I've been to Giorgio's a handful of times now, but am just getting around to writing a review for them. My friend and I had a coupon for $10 off a purchase of $30 or more so that was the reason for our most recent trip. I forgot how inexpensive some of the menu items were so we ended up getting quite a complete meal (appetizer, salad, entree, drinks) just so we could reach $30. I love their baked rigatoni and it is quite possibly the best I have ever had. Their pizzas are also good though I won't say they are the "best" like their coupons indicated. They have a nice selection of wines and beers. The service is usually good except for the one time I went and the waitress never made eye contact while talking to me and my then girlfriend. (maybe that's why she broke up with me?)

Quite possibly the best italian restaurant in San Jose. I've been 30+ times, and tried something different every time, never even had an average plate, it was all delicious. Personal favorites are the Lasagna, and the Giorgio's Special Pizza. Little things that make it special are the table bread (comes with a whipped garlic butter that alone is worth the price of admission) their wine list, and their coffee (I get a cappuccino after every meal). The ambiance is very classic italian in the regular dining area, but the bright neon signs up front kind of annoy me. The service is always excellent, and the price is very reasonable, almost underpriced considering the quality of the food. The only detraction is the restaurants size, locally it is quite popular, so there is almost always a wait on any given night around dinner time. At the end of the day it is a wonderful little restaurant in a quiet little area, and a great place for a weekly tradition, date, or special occasion.

We were in the area doing a Craigslist deal when we saw this place, so we popped in for a quick bite to eat for lunch. We were in a bit of a rush, but that was okay because Deborah was right on it from the start. Great service, prompt, speedy but not obtrusive or rushed. The bread service was fantastic (warm rolls with garlic butter), but I was kind of craving a little bit of olive oil and vinegar. Oh, well. Anyway, everything about our meal was fantastic. I had a half order of their lasagna (delicious in every way!), and the chicken and sausage cannelloni was just as good. The sauces for both dishes were rich and not watery. Every bite was perfection, and we were in and out in less than half an hour with our tummies full. So yeah, I'm not hesitant to give this place 5 stars. Thanks, Deborah! Hopefully we'll be back in the area for dinner. Yum! (I noticed the table next to us -- about 6 people -- sent their food back because they told the waiter it was cold. The waiter took it in stride, and had the food corrected and back at the table within a few minutes with sincere apologies. I thought the waiter handled the whole thing very nicely, and the rude family at the table could have learned a thing or two about manners from that guy. Very classy, Giorgio's!)

The food at this place is pretty good. Excellent calzone! The sausage bread that everyone seems to rave about is ok. It's just sliced sausage and cheese rolled in dough, baked, then sliced. I don't really get it, but to each their own. Anyway, the food is great, but the service is SLOOOOW. I cannot completely blame the wait staff, as it has happened twice, now. Today we were there for over two hours for lunch. That seems extreme. Also, (and this is a personal thing) when I am at a restaurant, I don't think I should ever have a point where my given beverage glass is empty. This is especially true is the waitress has already asked if I would like a refill. But wait I did. Overall, it was fine. Really good food. So-so service. Atmosphere straight out of the nineties. And a decent value.

Food is always great. Tried the Lamb Osso Bucco for the first time and thought it was phenominal. Yes there is a long wait, but to me that means the foods good. If you don't like to wait get there early! Parking is a little scarce with all the eateries which is why I can't give 5 stars.

Many people seem to love Giorgio's, but to me it's just okay. The place is crowded and the service for the two times we've come here is slow. The place is also pricey. They also offer some gluten free menu items like gluten free pizza and pasta. However, expect the gluten free pasta to take a while longer to cook. We waited a long time for the gluten free item to be brought to the table.

I've been to this establishment before the remodel and after. The atmosphere is great and the food is absolutely the best. If you like salmon you have to try the salmon pasta, that is not the name but it is fantastic! The service there is decent.

Good neighborhood joint with decent Italian food. I had the half order of the NY style Lasagna and the boy had the rigatoni. The decor has your picnic style table cloths with paper napkins, fake vines all over the ceiling and wall. Again, if you live around the area, it's a great place to go on a week night. Not a place that would impress a date, or fun for a girls night, but great for families.

The restaurant is very close to my house so we get a chance to go there quite often. My favorite there is Mannecotti. My husband usually gets Chicken Marsala or Eggplant Parmesan. The food is very good and the service is fast and attentive. The only thing I would add is the kids menu.

About 10 years ago my family and I discovered this place. It was awesome! The food and service were ALWAYS top notch. Over the last, I'd say 3 years, the place has started to go downhill. Now I can't speak for the pizza. The other dishes however, have lost ALL taste. Last night we went for a family dinner- The iced tea was transparent, the sauce had no flavor, and the waitress was HORRIBLE. It took us 25 min to place the order!! Evidentially she had gone on her break and had no one to cover her tables. Unfortunately we won't be going back. RIP Giorgio's - you will be missed!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
