I have loved Jardiniere for over eight years. The atmosphere is celestial and romantic. Live Piano and Jazz set a very comfortable tone. The signature duck confit and the sea scallops are seasonal and never dissapoint. I always celebrate my moments there. There are still staffers from my earliest days there! I always take close family and friend's, and high profile client's from out of town to Jardiniere and they are never dissapointed. The menu is kept fresh and pure. They recognize sustainability and are very pro-active in the community. There is nothing wrong with this business model! My Hat is off to You Traci, Well Done!

sure didn't end up cheap, but the food was very good, though short of awe-inspiring. with the chef's menu and wine pairing ended up shelling out $225 a person. lovely scallop dish, forgettable salmon, decadent and delicious duck and foie gras, enjoyable ribeye, unremarkable cheese plate, and a failure for desert.

im pretty sure that the past 3 times i've been here, i've always gotten the scallops - they're some of the best i've ever had!
Bartender made a perfect Martini to start dinner. The foie gras was excellent as was the steak. Finished with A chocolate hazelnut desert that just melted. Staff was attentive and helpful. Wife ordered the corn soup minus the pork belly and te summer squash entree since she's vegetarian. Being a picky eater I was suppressed she raved about everything. Highly recommended for a night of fine dining if your pockets are deep.

In short, solid food but not spectacular, at a pretty high price. My wife and I had the beet salad (excelent), the Sea Bass and Rib Eye (both nice but not fantastic) and a dessert each. Two glasses of wine and one mixed drink for a grand total of $250 including tip. So we had a very nice meal but nothing memorable at a hefty price. The location was great for a dinner before a show, the service was great, the setting was very nice, but again, the price:value ratio was unbalanced.

Jardiniere Restaurant has a special place in my heart It is close to SF opera and is open late so after an amazing night at the opera, strolling to get a drink and a bite at Jardiniere makes the night even more amazing! The food, deserts, wine selection, and the service are all fantastic But what I love the most is the music, the staircase, AND the starts :) Just imagine, listening to music, sipping wine, and looking up the stars...Can't get more magical!

Thanks to BMW for hosting an event here. Got to sample a bunch of appetizers, cheeses, and bread. Flowing wines. Coke from a bottle, awesome. Sadly, didn't get to try any entrees, none were comp'd. The lounge area is nice. I wouldn't want to leave any valuables in my checked coat, the coat closet lacks security being in the lounge area and near the restroom hallway.

My husband and I loved every single bite and scrap of food that was put on our plates. We did the tasting menu with wine pairings. Our server was top notch in describing the dishes and how they were prepared. He also gave us in depth detail about each of the wines served. The total experience was fantastic. I would go back to Jardinere in a heartbeat.

One of the nicest bars I've seen in the city (and it's open late-ish). I guess that's how they can get away with charging $13 for a martini...

We did the Chef's tasting menu with wine paring at Jardiniere. The meal was full of very unique dishes done perfectly. Each wine paring was a perfect compliment to the course that was served. My only issue with the meal, which cost over 400 dollars, is both my wife and I were hungry later in the evening. I had no expectations of "getting stuffed" this isn't that kind of place, but I did expect to be full till breakfast. If the portions had been slightly larger I would go back, but I think this was a one time experience. It was fun, but not worth the $$$$ with all the options in the City.

I have only dined here once, and that was so many years ago that it wouldn't be fair to review that experience -- although it was delicious and decadent ... and expen$ive. However, I was treated to a couple of slugs of champagne at its lovely round bar last Sunday before the Michael Feinstein "Sinatra Project" @ symphony hall, and it was the perfect venue for pre-event socializing. It is the closest to Davies, we didn't have to wait, and the service was superb. Maybe someday someone will love me enough to take me here for dinner again.

The atmosphere is part David Lynch, and part 1930's Great Depression glamour. Perhaps it's combination of the fact that I don't drink generally, but always have champagne and cocktails here, and that the lighting upstairs is very stage/theater like. It's always a surreal experience in anycase. The food is always impeccable, and the service perfect. Ofcourse, for the prices, it should be. This is the Mandarin-Oriental of restaurants. I noticed it gets compared to The Four Seasons frequently... but I think that would be more appropro for Zuni Cafe. Both great San Francisco classics, but appeals to different demographical aspects.

I would probably rate Jardiniere a 5 star, but the prices are through the roof. Excellent cuisine! Very romantic, since the dining room is designed to look as if your sitting in a champagne glass. Great place for romantic quiet dining. Just be sure to have enough available on the charge card.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. Sure, it's expensive, but it should be. From the second you walk in under the starry sky domed ceiling you know you're in for an extraordinary experience. It's a large restaurant, but it has a romantic, intimate feel. My fiancé and I got the prix fare tasting menu, and every course was incredible. Our server was attentive (without being too hovering) and we generally felt welcome there. The wine pairings were perfect and the atmosphere lent itself to us spending a long time there talking. A perfect restaurant for an anniversary dinner or romantic date.
