I would give 5 stars if it was strictly on food. The happy hour you have to get there before 4PM to actually get a seat. We got there at 3:30 and the hostess neglected to tell us that so when we came back at 4 it was full so we left. My stars represent previous meals. Food, drinks and wait staff are always good.

Delectable steaks but my favorite item is the stuffed chicken breast. I know, shame on me. A little on the expensive but worth the cost! The sides dishes come family style so be prepared to share. Or not if it is the potatoes au gratin! Yum!

Holy expensive... but delicious! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of expensive it is. I mean if your dropping 30 to 50 for a steak... you should at least get one side without having to drop another 10. You easily spend 100 or more for two. But, will do it again when I get rich!

Came here last night after a few hours of shopping at the Galleria. We were hungry and tired and excited to find a nice place to sit down. The ambiance is great here, just dim enough for privacy but not like you are sitting in the dark. The booth we were sat in was comfy and gave us plenty of room. Our waitress was nice and accommodating, recommending her favorites on the menu. The menu is extensive and like many have said it is a bit pricey. The great thing going on right now is their winter special which is a salad, entree, side, and dessert all for either 40 or 50 dollars depending on what entree you choose. In comparison to the other prices on the menu it is a pretty good deal. I ordered the special. 6oz filet with 3 shrimp, house salad, creamed spinach, and a dessert of a small piece of carrot cake and chocolate mouse. Everything was tasty. My salad was good, although I had salad envy when I tasted my mom's which was the harvest salad I think, with bacon, goat cheese, pecans, cherries, and all sorts of other goodies. The steak was cooked perfectly and the shrimp were a nice addition. The creamed spinach which I shared with my mom and her boyfriend was good and their mushrooms and fries were also very yummy. The dessert was also wonderful and just the perfect amount of both items for a sweat treat at the end of a filling meal. I also ordered a glass of wine, a cab. The wine prices are pretty high, standard for most steak houses, but still higher than I usually like seeing. 19 dollars for some of the glasses of wine just seemed crazy. Good selection of wines though, no complaints on not having enough options. Our waitress told us they also have a really good happy hour thing going on right now which I will really want to come back for. From 4 to 6 Mon- Fri, you can get food in the bar and nothing is over 6 dollars I believe she said. Sounded like I nice place to stop for some snacks and a drink after shopping during the week sometime perhaps.

Made a reservation for our one year wedding anniversary. This was on a Sunday, so hardly a peak night. Nonetheless, when we arrived, we actually had to wait at the bar for our table to get ready. Not all that big of a deal, I guess, but if you make a reservation, and let them know it is a special occasion, you would think they could have the table ready when we arrive. Having said that, that was the only negative of the evening. The service was exemplary from then on. We had crab cakes and a chop salad for appetizers, but the best appetizer was the spicy lobster bites. Simply fantastic!!! I highly recommend it to anyone. My steak was done perfectly when it was on the plate. One tip is to order your steak one degree less than you like. They bring your steak out on a plate that is 500 degrees, so the steak continues to cook as you eat it. My wife had the barbecue shrimp which was fantastic as well. The only reason this is not a five star review is because of the aforementioned table wait. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes great service and great steak.

Ordered the rack of lamb, sauteed mushrooms, and mashed potatoes. All were excellent. Even ordered the fresh seasonal berries with sweet cream. Ahh, that was a slice of heaven. Service was great. Either our server was new and wanted to kiss ass or she just does her job really well.

If you want to eat at a classy place this is it. I been here 3 times and each time the customer service was outstanding. From the hot plates of steak to the cold bowls of salad everything is damn good. Two reasons why it's not five stars.. Like most other reviews, it's a bit pricey. Not for the quality, but for the portions. At their prices you should at least be able to take home a little doggy bag. Second the parking sucks!!! It shares parking with the mall so you get the idea.. They do have Valet parking, but I haven't reached that status yet..

the filet is incredible. its expensive, but nothing else needs to be. if you go, just get the steak and leave, dont waste your money on anything else. dont feel obligated to get anything else. :p mostly older people there.

If I had a choice between this place and Morton's, I'd pick Morton's hands down. But if you're trying to be a little more economical, this is a decent place to go. I found the cowboy rib-eye to be a lot more tender than the filet mignon. The bearnaise sauce was good...but Morton's is better. The End.

Ruth's Chris is one of our favorites! One may say that Ruth's is too expensive; however, there is a huge difference between an expensive restaurant that is sub-par and one that is superb. Ruth's Chris is definitely superb! We've been several times for special occasions and have never left dissatisfied. From the moment you're greeted to the moment you leave, you are given the best service and attention. Subsequently, the food is amazing! Everything from the appetizers on through desserts is delicious. Steaks come sizzling in butter accompanied with great sides that melt in your mouth. For those who enjoy wines with their meals, you will not be disappointed. Ruth's has an extensive wine list. Anyone will be able to find the perfect wine pairing for their meals. When you leave Ruth's, you feel like you got what you paid for: Great service, great food and an overall great experience. If you want to try Ruth's, but feel that they are too expensive, try them when Ruth's participates in Dine About Town in San Francisco. During Dine About Town, Ruth's has great prices and you should definitely not pass them up!

Went here for Valentine's day with my gf. I dined here twice before (but it was a couple years ago now), and all three times the food was excellent. This is what allowed me to give it the three stars. It would have been four or five if not for the bad service. All around bad- lazy, stupid comments, condescending remarks and manner. Her name was Angela- she was terrible but the food was excellent. The service used to be excellent too, a couple of years ago. I don't know if Angela's service was indicative of the rest of the staff, but my review is based on my last trip.

The day after valentine's day, we arrived early for our dinner reservation, and I had a tasty manhattan at the bar. Dinner consisted of filet mignon, potatoes au gratin, sauteed spinach and a bottle of pinot noir. It was all great. This is not cutting edge cuisine. It is comfort and familiarity executed nearly perfectly. Service was good and unobtrusive. Suit wearing managers stopped by and thanked us for visiting. The interior is warm, classy, and a little conservative. Men were well dressed ranging from tie-less dress shirts to jackets and ties.

This is one of those places that you always see the ads for in practically every in flight magazine. For years and years I'd those pictures of the super thick filet mignon, shaped perfectly, with a triangular wedge cutout, exposing a perfect medium rare. I'd then go on and read about the other top steak places around the country and wonder if I'd ever visit all these places and their steak houses. I've actually driven by the RC on Van Ness in SF tons of times but never dropped in, always thinking this was a destination I needed to make after flying somewhere. So after half a trip back west from the Sierra Nevada mountains, it was time to look for food. Roseville is one of those places where the gas is actually pretty cheap compared to the Bay Area so in doing that we also stopped for food. After finding that most of our options were closed, Ruth's Chris ended up being one of the last options standing. So in the vein of trying something new we went in. As you enter the space through the large double doors, the space is separated by a large podium/reception area in the front and the bar area to the right, which hides the dining room behind. The first unusual thing I picked up on was the fact that they asked for my name even though I said I didn't have reservations, which turned out to be something they give your server . Your server then refers to you very formally with Mr/Mrs/Miss throughout the dinner. Very interesting touch. Now when someone calls me Mr or Sir it makes me feel really damn old but as we were seated, I looked around I figured out why the formalities. Not only did I feel pretty young here, I felt pretty under dressed. I think for the most part my parents would feel young and I haven't seen so many suits and ties during dinner except in 50's television shows. So the vibe was very special occasion, celebration, power meal, etc. The place is dimly lit and with what you'd expect from a classic style steakhouse, there were deep earthen reds and brown accents, with the use of dark wood and other materials. As my dining partner was in the restroom, my server greeted me as "Mr" and proceeded to ask about beverage choices. Somehow we got to talking about the NFL, our teams and then the next thing I know , we're talking with the table of older couples behind me also. I guess the place isn't so stodgy after all! After having perused the menu a little bit, our server gave us a bit of history behind the restaurant , the broiler used in the food preparation, and how the steaks were prepared with said broiler. So we decided on splitting the house salad, a huge-mungous baked potato, a filet mignon and the NY (which is my steak Holy Grail). The salad was pretty standard, not bad but not particularly memorable either. The potato was fairly tasty and I noticed that the bacon bits had this really interesting sweet carmelization to them which gave it a certain flair and I couldn't stop eating them. The same affinity could be said for my partner's devouring of the sour cream. The steaks however were definitely the highlight. Broiled at an extreme temperature with only, butter, salt and pepper, they both came out on our plates sizzling, perfectly cooked and very flavorful. I've had NY's cooked in many ways in many places and even though this was a pretty minimalist preparation, it was still every bit as good as what I've had elsewhere. The dessert menu had quite a few items on it and we were feeling pretty full from the hearty steak and potatoes meal, but then the words "chocolate cake" popped up, splitting one was in our destiny. Unfortunately the cake was felt to be somewhat average and since I'm not much of a dessert expert, I'm siding with the more professional opinion of my dessert counterpart :) I definitely felt well taken care of by the staff and at first felt like I was being too well if there is such a thing. Some of it has to do with the type of place it is and I think after a while I warmed up to it. The prices here are definitely geared towards the business and special occasions crowd so I can't say that we escaped on the cheap. So if I balance that part, the dessert not being up to a connoisseur's liking, versus the excellent steak and service, I've landed on subtracting one star. Definitely not a place you'd go often unless you're made of money but definitely something you should check out if only to focus on the steak.

I'd never been to a Ruth's Chris and since the other dining options were limited at the Galleria Mall on the way back from Tahoe (FYI: Max's Cafe closes at 8pm on Sunday -- what's that all about??), we figured, "Why not?" The waitstaff is formal yet friendly, and our waiter gave us a full rundown on the history of the restaurant and the preparation of the steak. There's clearly a great pride in the establishment, or at least appears to be! My dining companion and I started by sharing the house salad with balsamic vinaigrette. It was kind of bland and average, but seemed much lighter than the other choices, since we knew that the meal would be heavy. I had the petite fillet as my main course. It was perfectly done to my request (medium), and extremely tender and flavorful. It wasn't chewy or overdone in the slightest. It was a great size for my appetite: about 5oz. or so. The price was pretty steep though: $30! We split the baked potato as a side. It was RIDICULOUSLY huge! Neither of us even finished half of our potato. I had a glass of the Shiraz which was $12 or $13 and pretty good. For dessert, we had the 'chocolate explosion.' As soon as the words 'molten chocolate cake' came out of his mouth, we decided to order it. I'm sorry to say that it was a huge disappointment. The cake literally tasted like it came out of a Duncan Hines box -- I'm not kidding. It had that from-a-mix-manufactured taste. Of course I ate it, because, come on... it's chocolate! However, when I finished, I felt like I'd just consumed one of the biggest waste of calories. Ugh! The bill for these items plus my dining companion's Guinness and New York Strip came to about $120. Pretty steep for a shared salad, side, and dessert, imo. Steak was good, though. The atmosphere was incredibly formal... almost overly so. My recommendation is to come here if someone else is footing the bill.

Ruth's Chris Steak House is scumptious and I love coming here for any and all special occasions! Don't let me get started on the crab cakes..... to die for. And I get the Rib eye, full of flavor! Atmosphere is sophisticated and romantic, very enjoyable for company dinners too! Andre is a wonderful manager and the staff is awesome. Go here for a special evening... you will not be disappointed! I've been here about 5 or 6 times and have never had a bad experience....

I went to this location with my GF for our first time eating at a Ruth's Chris. I was taken aback immediately when I walked in, said I had a reservation, and the hostess welcomed us as "Mr. and Mrs. K____". Normally, this would've been nice but the formality kept up for the rest of dinner with our young waitress referring to a 22 year old couple as Mr. and Mrs. each and every time she walked by our table. We were offered our choice of water or sparkling water or any of the restaurant's drinks and we chose water. What we didn't know at the time, was that we had the option to choose tap water. What they served us, however, was bottled water. It was proportionally, the most expensive item on the bill. I got over it pretty quickly when we ordered the BBQ shrimp starter. It was absolutely incredible and I normally don't think that shrimp is all it's made out to be. For entrees, we ordered the ahi stack and the veal. The ahi stack was flavorful for my sashimi loving GF and my veal was seasoned simply and very juicy. Both were presented very nicely and were both dishes that we probably wouldn't have ordered elsewhere. Overall, it was a great meal. For dessert, however, we were allowed to order the special for the night even though I heard servers tell tables all around us that the special was out for the night. Our waitress came back 5 minutes later to tell us the bad news. We got the bread pudding instead and left a little disappointed. A dessert, in my opinion, is supposed to end the night well even if the rest of the service was a disaster. My second trip here with a larger group to try more varieties led to less flavorful dishes and a less pleasant experience. I'm not quite sure what to make of it, but I stick by my rating of 4 stars. I enjoyed my first experience, but I'm not sure how eager I am to go back. Once was probably enough and twice certainly is. ==== Rubric: 5 = Mindblowing 4 = Excellent 3 = I see the charm 2 = Disappointing 1 = Never again

Can I get some extra rib eye with my butter! 2.5 stars for this high end chain steak house.. i would say its over rated!.. this place is perfect for first impressions but if your guest knows their steak your better of elsewhere!. I had the rib eye and it was good but I was dissapointed because my meal didnt come with a lobster tail that would compliment the leftover butter on my plate!

We went once. Way to expensive for steak, however we knew that going in. The service was less than good. It was VERY slow, and it was disappointing that we seemed to keep looking for the staff. The food was great, no issues. I wouldn't go again, only because I can cook a really great steak for much less money, and have sides. ;)

I had an awesome meal here but then again my company paid. I might go to 3 stars if I paid. I believe you can get just as good a meal at a few other steak houses in the area for less money. But as the food goes I can not complain.

We went to Ruth Chris with two of our dear friends to catch up. The manager on duty, the hostess and the waitress were all very especially personable. Our friends did wonder why, when the restaurant was empty, they chose to sit us at the worst table in front of the door to the kitchen (we didn't accept the table.) I had a combination filet and lobster. The server had promised me drawn butter. My friend had a combination that came with scallops. She doesn't like scallops, so she gave them to me. The scallops had a vessel with a yellowish sauce that I (mistakenly) assumed was drawn butter. The lobster only had one decent bite. I dipped it in the yellow sauce and found out if was some wretched cheese concoction. I guess the sauce was supposed to cover the miserable scallops. The scallops looked like what a Sizzler might serve if the SIZZLER was trying to control its food cost. When the server came around, I told them that I had used my one good bite in the miserable sauce, but I guess my complaint was unworthy of action. The meal was not commensurate with my expectations and I will look elsewhere when I want a good steak.

I took my folks here for their birthday, an indulgence they were all too happy to accept. They do a really nice job here with the service and the food. All of the sides are ample enough to be shared by everyone at the table. The decor is urbane and contemporary. My two beefs with this outlet are the ridiculously hot plates. I'm pretty sure my hand would be incinerated should it accidentally brush the plate. Are they blow torching the plates in back? My second beef is the location, the mall is a terrible location for a restaurant of this caliber. Traffic, parking, even getting to the valet is a hassle. That said, the food is worth the trip.

What a disappointment! We went out looking to get the perfect steak and Ruth's Chris came to mind as we were already at the mall. My wife had the fillet and I had the rib-eye. My wife ordered it med. well w/o the butter and it came out well done. Ok, so they immediately take it back and bring out another one. This one had it soaked in butter, so it was maybe excusable as the kitchen may have forgotten to make it w/o butter. Then the third steak comes out and it is now med. rare - there is no excuse this time. The waiter is very nice and agrees that this is inexcusable and they send it back to cook some more. Finally the fillet comes out med. well, but since it was reheated some ends are well done and dry. The manager agrees to take the meal off our bill and offers us free desserts. Next, one of the waiters come over to fill our water, but does not realize that we have sparkling water. They apologize again and bring us a new bottle of sparkling. I can see getting this type of results if it was Black Angus or Outback, but not at high-end Ruth's Chris. These guys suppose to specialize in steaks, so I cannot figure out how they could get it wrong so many times. BTW my rib-eye was just ok, but not worth it for the money. I'm not thinking Ruth's Chris anymore for a nice steak. Go to Mortons for the $49 prefix deal on the website - you can't beat it for quality and quantity. Foodie Kevin

HI! I'm rich! Let's go to Ruth's Chris Steak House...It's where ALL the cool rich people go. First, we'll hop in the Hummer, and make sure everyone in traffic can see my new rims! Upon arrival, there's no chance I'm parking my cool Hummer out with the common folk. Valet? HA! yeah right! I'm parking it myself right NEXT to the valet podium. Let's head inside. Now SMILE BIG as we exit my cool Hummer. Waiter bring me a Saphire and Tonic for 22 dollars please! AHHH now that's good gin. STEAK! Bring on my 50 dollar steak! But not even before bringing out my 35 dollar ceasar salad, and don't be skimpin on the croutons there, buddy! mmm yummy! OPE! Forgot my 18 dollar baked potato...Idaho's FINEST, I'm sure. Now that was living high on the town in luxurious Roseville, CA....home of Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, and 4 200 corporate chain restaurants! Let's be out. Time to hit up Mandango's and show these Roseville folk what STYLE looks like I'm RICH, Bitch!

Finest dining in Roseville. Take any out of town guests to this place if you want to show them the best in Roseville...we're limited to chain restaurants so this isn't too bad for one of them. Hell, we got it before Sacramento did!!! Anyways, I've been here about 5 times and they are great every time. When we had a group of 10 people they even gave us 2 waitresses as well as an "assistant to the waitress" who handled the waters and anything else we needed. Restaurant is beautiful and always packed. The entrance is tucked against the construction of the expansion but it will be perfect for when that is open and the new parking garage. Food is great. When I asked for extra butter on my steak and they accidentally put no butter, they took it back and brought me an entirely new steak. Service is great every time. You can tell they spend the money and time to train their staff to perfection. The only things to watch out for are: reservation...if they don't have seating yet, they will make you wait for however long it takes. The upside, if you're in the bar, they actually come and find you personally and escort you to your table and talk to you by name. The other thing, sometimes they try to force their pelligrino and Fiji water onto you and make you think it is free. IT'S NOT!!! I believe the pelligrino is about $8 per bottle, so BEWARE!!! They have tap water, but sometimes don't even offer it. They just bring out a tray with the other two, but sometimes they have all 3.

LOVE this place. Just as good as the one in SF, which is great since this area is lacking in fine dining establishments. The chopped salad, bbq shrimp and veal chop - all A+!!! Also - the manager is very friendly and frequently walks the floor.

A very good evening out for dinner! My wife and I took advantage of the three-course meal special. We both had the 6 oz fillet with jumbo shrimp, two sides and desert for $39.95 per meal. The two side to got were the mash potatoes and creamed spinach. The steak was very nice served on a very hot, steaming plate! The two side were very generous in portion... plenty to share for two! Now, the restaurants secret to the great tasting food is the butter! ...and they use lots of it ...in sides and the steak was swimming in it! who can't resist the taste of buttered food! ...unhealthy? ...oh, live a little! At a regular cost of $80, you're not gonna eat at Ruth's everyday!!! Anyways, back to the restaurant... our server was really good! We told her that it was our first visit and she took care of us. Our server explained how our food was served and recommend we share the sides...the restaurant even encourages it! To finish off the meal was the fantastic two-cup desert... very nice! The entire experience was excellent ...will do again! err, I meant maybe whenever they have the special again, that is. ;) ...I have only one complaint, the noise level was a little high for my ears... similar to a Romano's Macaroni Grill restaurant!

This place is so expensive that I only go here for my anniversary. I normally get the sweet potato casserole (which is so damn good), filet, and ahi tuna. The last time I went there, my filet was over cooked. I wanted medium rare so I was disappointed to find a brown dry steak in front of me. My husband bought a $65 freakin steak! Why the hell not, it's our anniversary! It was a Kobe style steak with blue cheese crust that was so good that I stared at his steak the entire time I was eating mine. That thing melted in my mouth. I also bought steak fries, they were HUGE. Unless you have a group of at least four or more, don't buy them because you won't finish it. Then again, I've never paid so much for french fries in my life. They also have a great wine selection to complement their steaks. My waiter also disappeared from us for a long period of time. I hate it when we have to hunt down another waiter because we can't find our own.

Seemed like your standard upscale chain steak house. Becase of the prices, I had a hard time judging it fairly. I will say that the steak (The Filet - rare) was excellent, but then again, it should be as the place is a "steak house" and it was on the expensive side ($31.95 w/out sides). The sides are where Ruth showed some of her weaknesses. We opted for the Lyonnaise Potatoes and the spinich au gratin. Both were not bad, but not great either. The potatoes were very crispy, almost like fries or chips, and the spinach was your basic spinach in cream sauce covered w/cheese. I guess for the price ($7.50 potatoes, $8.50 spinach) I was just expecting more. As a big mojito fan I had to try the New Orleans Mojito. The official Mojit-o-meter rating was a 2.5 out of 5. Not that bad, but bad enough to make the switch to beer. One thing about the place was that the service was excellent. Everything thing came in a timely manner and the staff seemed both professional and friendly (sometimes the 2 do not mix). CN Version: Great steak, ok side dishes, wouldn't get another mojito, good service, expensive. Next up, Morton's of Chicago.

I'll give them 4.5 stars just because of the prices. In order to give them 5 stars you must ignore the prices (which I can't) and then get into the atmosphere of their protocol and go with it. If you do this then it will make your dining experience more enjoyable. The food is very good and I will go as far to say it is excellent. Some reviews have the service as slow. Again, go with the protocol. Enjoy the time with your dinner mates. The service we received was very good. The staff are not there to rush you out, in fact I believe they want you to take your time and enjoy. After all, time is money and you are paying the money so take the time...;-) The menu is on the expensive side so it is not for the drop in and grab a bite crowed, although this is how we ended up here. We were doing some shopping and got hungry so we thought we would drop in and give it a try. We felt we were way under dressed but the staff didn't seem to mind. Go for the food, enjoy your time there and brace yourself for the bill......

Wow! Where do I start? This has to be the best restaurant that I've been to in Northern California. Nothing beats the sizzling Filet Mignons, and the great side dishes! Right as you walk in, the staff greets you and promptly leads you to your table. The waiters all introduce themselves, and refer to you by your last name. It's a unique aspect that many luxury restaurants don't take part in. The food is impeccable. The Filet is the top choice steak, and it comes out at a few thousand degrees, still sizzling on the plate. It's the epitome of melt-in-your-mouth quality! The sides that I love the most are the Potatoes-Au-Gratin, and the Sweet Potatoes. The Sweet Potatoes can second as a dessert they are so deliciously sweet! Overall, the ambiance, food, and wait staff is top of the line. I don't know if this is important to the review, but if you 20 years old and under patrons feel like going to a place that will serve you wine and mixed drinks without carding you this is the place! They never card. I've dined at this Ruths Chris about 8 times, and each time it gets better! Definitely a must if you haven't tried a quality filet mignon.

My husband and I went to Ruth's Chris the first not knowing what kind of place it was. Turned out to be our now favorite restaurant. We have always received amazing service and the food is always perfect. We even were given a free appetizer one time when a customer made a big scene because he had been waiting for over 20 minutes on a Saturday night and they wouldn't make it up to him by giving him and his 5 friends free drinks. I told the manager that handled it that the guy was way out of line and it was smart not to give him the free drinks. He appreciated the compliment so much that we were the ones to get the free stuff. Too bad for that guy, but awesome for us! Love this place!!

Probably one of the best Dine About Town experiences I've ever had! Went here with a party of 4 on a Friday night, but had no trouble getting seated since we booked reservations on Open table. It was very nice that they seated half of our party though some of us were running late, it gave the early birds a chance to order some drinks and peruse the menu while waiting for the latecomers...so many restaurants don't do that anymore and force people to wait until everyone gets there. The ambiance was nice, not too formal but plush and comfortable. Both the bread and the salad to start were very good, but who am I kidding, it's all about the STEAK. 3/4 of us ordered the 12-oz ribeye (to get the most steak for the $$) and it was both huge and tasty. I still preferred the 8-oz filet that I ordered, it was much tastier though it wasn't as fatty (all the butter they slathered on provided enough of the fat anyway). It actually seemed much larger than an 8-oz, so it was still a killer deal. Probably one of the best steaks I've had in the bay area. The DAT menu included the side dishes so I got the creamed spinach and the hubby got mashed potatoes, we had enough to share both. Oh, and did I mention they let you get a lobster tail for an additional $17? I didn't indulge but thought that seemed like a good deal if you're into lobster. For dessert, I had the bread pudding which was awesome, hubby ordered the key lime pie (which I'm not really into) but he liked it too. I pretty much liked everything they served me from start to finish (unlike Alexander's where we spent way more $$$ and the dessert was crap). The portions for pretty much everything was very generous, so it seems like it would be a good deal even at regular prices (and a monster deal at $35). I gotta say, for a foursome ordering $35 dinners and bringing their own wine for $15 corkage (hey, it's dining out in recession season) they treated us very well and the service was excellent. The server didn't even bat an eyelash when we asked him to open not one but 2 bottles of wine that we brought with us. He was also just very friendly the whole time and we had no trouble finding him when we needed something, definitely deserved a good tip. For DAT, I don't think there are any values better than this one. Most restaurants totally skimp on both their food and service during DAT, which just violates the whole purpose of trying to let new people get to know your restaurant. I usually don't like chain restaurants, but Ruth's Chris has convinced

I went to Ruth Chris for a business dinner this past week. It was an interesting mix of sumptuousness and simplicity. The decor heads toward posh, the waiters and waitresses are white shirt and black tie. Steak, lobster, salmon and chicken are the entrees, but Steak is what this place is known for. It's a meat eater's paradise, and they prepare their meat very well. I've decided to give it 4 stars because of the excellent crab cakes. Even though we only got 2 with our order, they were full of flaky hot fresh crab and wonderfully seasoned. Also the stuffed mushrooms were excellent. And the service was great, one member of our party had to leave early and they sped things up and took care of us perfectly! Apparently it started in New Orleans, or at least that's what the waiter told me. The gumbo was interesting, no okra, not at all spicy, full of shredded chicken and with a small round of rice like a plateau in the middle of the bowl. There was some shrimp and sausage in there as well but not alot. I could tell they used a true roux base and no tomato like most places. It was good but it wasn't a true gumbo in my opinion, I missed the okra and the spicy kick you get with most New Orleans fair. Not a big steak eater I got the chicken. The chicken was cooked very well; it was moist and flavorful. It was filled with a lot of cheese, and honestly I could have done without that thick cheese filling. The chicken and cheese together was well designed and balanced but the dish was just too rich for me. What was kind of strange is we also had to pay for sides; the main meat dish doesn't come with any so you have to add them on. My dining companion picked creamed spinach, which honestly isn't my favorite but was rich and tasty so I would be willing to try that again. I ordered the au gratin potatoes, which were diced into little squares baked in a creamy cheese sauce, with cheddar on top to seal in the cheese flavor. They were good but not fantastic. This place is on the expensive side, some of the steaks had a $40 price tag, and the wine list is also pretty extravagant. Although there were definitely leftovers because of the large entree portions, the sides were kind of small for the price. Still if your steak fan or have a special occasion this could be the right place for you.

This is a wonderful restaurant the staff was great, they put roses on our table and the service was great and quick. The food was HOT and perfect. The AMBIANCE was perfect, I called ahead for reservations( we still had to wait-30 minutes) and a dress code i knew it was dressy but how dressy? I ask can i wear jeans they said sure. after all i did have a wonderful time. ooppss the game was on and this man said if my team lose i am burning RC Down - I said to my husband we are out.. with a smile. whew they won!!

I had heard amazing things about Ruth's Chris restaurants, so I was expecting amazing food and to die for filet mignon. It was okay. My steak was on the bland side, it tasted like the only thing they put on it was butter, no pepper, no salt or other seasonings. The sides were mediocre at best. Personally I'd rather hit up the Roseville Meat Market and grill up my own filet mignon at home for 1/3 of the price.

A completely uneven experience ruined a special dinner on New Year's Eve at Ruth's Chris in Roseville. We were halfheartedly greeted by Kelly, and even with a reservation, we waited 15 minutes in a too-small space, only to be told that the dining room was full and we would have to sit on the patio. Now if you are not familiar with this location let me describe the patio seating area; it has bright fluorescent lighting, a tile floor, different tables (similar to a backyard cookout IMO), hard metal chairs and the sound of conversations travels. In short, the patio is cheap-looking, and ugly and loud. Not exactly the ambiance you desire at these prices, with a reservation, for a special occasion dinner! We asked how long to be seated inside, Kelly responded rudely again "45-60 minutes". We grew more frustrated, finally gave in and said, fine, seat us outside. They tried to seat us ten feet from the entrance, we said NO; second attempt was a table one foot away from the bus station, once again we said NO! Finally they got the clue that we were quite unhappy and said they would find the manager to help make the situation right. When we returned to the front desk and waited for the manager to arrive, Kelly once more looked at us and said, "so...you're gonna wait to sit inside...again" in an off-put tone. We said " NO - we want to speak with the manager!" Her response was " WELL, here he is!" motioning to the gentleman to her right. The GM was very quick to figure out our issue and rectify it swiftly, within 30 seconds he had us seated inside the dining room in a romantic booth adjacent to to a large wine display. FINALLY, 45 minutes later we had a proper table and could look forward to dinner. The seafood gumbo starter, had good spice and flavor. Our filets were both cooked perfectly; a side of Brussels sprouts with bacon, tasted metallic and "rooty" and was a real disappointment. The sweet potato casserole was fantastic. Dessert was a petite cheesecake and chocolate bark. Both had zero flavor whatsoever and ended the meal on a low note. All-in-all the night was a roller coaster. Would we return to this location? Very doubtful.

Came back for the Prime Hour aka happy hour which is from 4-6 PM on weekdays. Prices were reasonable for a happy hour, nothing over $6 foodwise, and $4 well drinks (but only if certain liquors were used to make the well drinks). Melissa C. and I shared the calamari (good but covered in a spicy sauce that proved to be overwhelming after 2 bites, the seared ahi tuna (which came smothered in a sauce that tasted like chemicals) and the filet sliders (best thing on the prime hour menu!). The sliders were my favorite; the filet was so tasty and the bbq butter topped it off. Two mojitos and 3 appetizers for under $30. Not bad price-wise, but I expected better food-wise. 3.5 stars

My wife chose this as her birthday dinner location. We were not disappointed. Our server was attentive, but didn't constantly interrupt. Water was always topped off and bread replaced. The food was top notch. We both had petite filets, asparagus and potatoes au gratin. I had one glass of wine and we both had dessert. The bill came to $160 with tip, which was probably $30 more than I was expecting, but not unreasonable.

Who doesn't love Happy Hour when food and drinks are half its normal price. Some cousins and I decided to hit it up last night following a day of fasting. After browsing the menu, we ended ordering the Steak Sandwich w/ fries, spicy lobster, lobster roll and fries, and the seared ahi tuna with a small cucumber salad on the side. Every bite was absolutely delicious. I especially enjoyed the steak sandwich because of the portion size, tenderness, juiciness of their steak and their special creamy sauce that went perfectly with the steak. The spicy lobster was crispy good but wasn't spicy at all (more so on the sweet end with a sweet honey glaze). The seared ahi tuna was nicely done but I definitely was not a fan of the wasabi sauce that came with it. So if you're a non-loving wasabi person like myself, it's edible but didn't love it. Lastly, the lobster roll was so effin good. I loved the buttered smothered toast to perfection bread and whatever sauce they used to add it into those lobsters, it was mouth watering good and I'm drooling just now while thinking about it. -Anna Pros: Good food for the price you pay. Cons: The service wasn't all too great. There was an event going on and so we were only able to sit at the bar area which was crowded and we had to wait a bit. Pretty much had to seat ourselves when we saw any open spots but luckily, a small table had opened up after our long wait. Also, when I went to ask for a box, the server handed me one but told me that they weren't allowed to give out boxes during happy hour. Really?

Juicy tender and rare rib eye steak accompanied by sweet potato casserole with a burnt sugary crust that melted in your mouth. My ex held a pretty large b-day party here and who do we see upon entrance, but Rick Adelman, ensconced in one of the fancy banquettes. I acknowledged the slight celebrity status with an "ohhhhhhhh, him" and walked right past him and his party while the rest of our dorky b-day group gawked. I went to school with Tom Hanks son, so celebrity sightings were common. Besides, I'm more inclined to seeing the Round Table delivery car........means my order is right on time. HAHA We were seated near the back, at a large round table and I firmly situated myself on the plush chair. It took me a moment to gain my sight. Dark and dimly lit, whatever lights were on made the flatware and china sparkle. I am serious..........I felt like I had just taken a seat among a porcelain crystal display embedded at the Swarovski store.. White linens, deep red backdrop. The interior made me feel as if I was at a very swank steakhouse........a slightly different decor compared to Morton's. I perused the menu and decided to go with the rib eye steak with the sweet potato casserole as a side. While we waited for our food, the men took part in typical football talk while I ate the bread like a caveman. My steak was wonderful and tender, soft. Rare, since I love my steaks rare, but not too bloody or offending to the ladies seated near me. The meat was not tough, with juicy marbling that added a richness to the steak. I dipped / cracked into the sweet potato casserole and was so taken aback from what I was not expecting....it should have been listed as a dessert. The potato mixture was sweet, with brown sugar frosting, and the buttery topping melted in my mouth. It was amazing. My dinner, was pretty rich, so I was unable to finish my steak or the potato item. But my dog was happy, since she had steak for the next few days. Great interior, perfect and quick staff, and the food was impeccable. I'd definitely come here again.

Very Disappointing Valentines. Expected much better. The hubs and I went the day before Valentines with another couple. I have had better tasting filet mignon. The other 3 in my party seemed pleased with their ribeye, lobster and new york steak but IMO the filet and lobster were boring and tastless. The filet was not seasoned at all as far as I could tell and didn't even have that filet texture that is so buttery and yummy. The lobster was ok flavored but thin and stringy. The service was good, helpful, and quick but at 160 bucks for 2 without even getting cocktails or dessert? Save the money and go to Black Angus. They know how to season a filet.

Ate ther last night after having eaten at Ruth's Chris all around the states. Took forever to get a bottle of wine. Side of au gratin potatoes was cold and had to be returned to server. It was not replaced until after we finished our meal. Filets were not cooked to the Ruth's Chris standard. Told that they would not charge us for the potatoes like they were doing us a big deal. Service mediocre especially for us being seated early in the evening (6:00 p.m.) and what the server referred to as a quiet night. Will return to Ruth's Chris, but not at Roseville.

I've been here three times and they are all very good. Good service and atmosphere. I had the petite fillet last time I went and it was not the best fillet I have had, the meat was less than perfect in too much gristle. Every other time has been good. I love very hot (temperature) food and this is the place for that, the meat comes sizzling on a plate with butter. The broccoli Au gratin was very good, but what veggie wouldn't be good covered in cheese and in a mayo-type sauce. The mashed potatoes were good too but there was so much butter they were sweating and there were no natural lumps to the potatoes which made me think they were those potato buds or "fake potatoes". Mojito was good but did not have much alcohol in it and isn't that what you pay for?! Next time I'm looking to celebrate I'm thinking I will take my expensive bill elsewhere!

We received a gift certificate for 200.00 so we decided to try Ruth's Cris steak house. Everything was very good but the steak. I ordered my steak med rare but it came rare. I couldn't find the waitress to send it back so I ate the edges. It was also very fatty, tough and full of gristle. The bill was over 200.00 and we didn't order all that much, they are very expensive. I didn't make a big deal about the steak so as not to ruin the experience for my wife but I emailed them about my dissatisfaction but never received a reply.....first and last time.

Read some of the reviews - I just went recently to the bar for drinks but I have also had dinner at this RC as well. I forgot about how they push the Fiji water. That was annoying because we agreed and then at the end of the night agreed to another bottle that was opened for us but no one drank and then saw there was a charge for us. Oh well....really, am I going to bitch too much about the extra $10ish? Nah! Good place. Yes, it's pricey but isn't Roseville all about brag-a -lish live beyond your means lifestyle? You guys love that there so relax. As for a bar scene - don't bother. Three of us girls went lookin for some good apps, wine, and cute men. It was all dates. We had one drink. One of my friends is a slllooowwww drinker so we were there about an hour and by the time we left the seats at the bar were all empty. I guess crush 29 is the spot for singles. I'm not a fan of that place...a little TOO MUCH of the 'on display' feeling for my taste. Go to McCormick if you are just looking for drinks and apps....and stop bitching about the cost or just go to freakin chipotle!! Oh, one more note....the service was fantastic!

Wasn't the great dining experience I had hoped for or had at the Ruth Chris at Sacramento. The service could have been better (Mike?). Waited a really long time for our food, and when it came out there were 5 steaks for 4 people, and one less side dish. Also, nothing worse then having to ask for your second glass of wine, and waiting until you are almost done with your steak for it to come. Wine and food are supposed to be enjoyed together. The food was very good though, and when the server wasn't forgetting things, the service was excellent.

The steak was the best that I have ever had. the service was pretty good too. the biggest grip I have with this place is the price, but the Steak is for the most part worth it. a lot of people said that they liked the side dishes the cream spinach and the mashed potatoes in particular, but I really didn't care for them I though they were over priced and over glorified. but if you are looking for a damn good steak though this is the place to be.

The food is quite good, if just slightly expensive for the quality. The heated plate makes the dining experience much more enjoyable. The steak is always of consistent quality, and you can count on it being cooked right. Greens are fresh, and the calamari appetizer is excellent. So why only two stars? In a restaurant of this price, I would expect great service. Each time I have went, I was disappointed. Service was friendly, but slow. For example, the most recent time we went, the waiter simply vanished. He was not busy, as it was a slow time for the restaurant. No food check. No refill on the beverages. Just... gone. I have only ever stiffed someone on a tip once... And this was it. To make matters worse, I contacted Ruth's Chris company, and was blown off. I will not venture here again. Premium food, Fast food service.

Yum!
(5)Randall S.

(4)Maricel B.

(4)Ben P.
the filet is incredible. its expensive, but nothing else needs to be. if you go, just get the steak and leave, dont waste your money on anything else. dont feel obligated to get anything else.

I wouldn't go again, only because I can cook a really great steak for much less money, and have sides. ;)
(3)Adam M.

(4)Kevin J.

(2)Eric M.

(3)Todd E.
Great filet and wine. 5 star service. Our favorite restaurant. Consistantly good.
(5)David L.
(3)Tim L.
Go for the food, enjoy your time there and brace yourself for the bill......

normally i like ruth's chris steak house. the first one i went to was in downtown seattle. steak and service was amazing. all of the ruth's chris steak houses in the seattle area have happy hour. i asked the roseville location about it and i got this dumb response: "every hour at ruth's chris is happy hour" ha ha

The steak here was by far the best I've ever had.the staff was very friendly and the ambience was great.I'll definitely be coming back.

No matter what.... the best steak you will have.

Used to work right next to this place-- food is great and happy hour is incredible!

This was my 1st time here, and it was out of this world. We had our 20th yr annv. dinner here.

Took my Dad there for his birthday on Sat. 11-3-12 and had a Wonderful steak dinner with a bottle of wine! My parents and I felt like we were treated regally. Would love returning here to celebrate any other event!
