Have been eating here for a number of years but now feel compelled to write a review. As the only "adult" restaurant in the area Hanna's is something to enjoy. The service is always good and the food is good. Good - Not Great. However the prices are a joke - $14.50 for a martini! New York steak is $54! Ruth Chris is $8.00 and $44.00 respectively for the same items with far better ambiance, food and service. My wife and I joke about our $100 hamburgers at Hanna's - 2 cocktails, 2 small salads, 2 burgers. And we still do it because we don't feel like driving 20 miles. If I was crazy I would open up a competitor place and put them to shame.

Customer service was very good. We were treated with a free appetizer and champagne for a special occasion dinner which was very nice and unexpected. The edamame appetizer was good, though had it not been free I don't think I would have been all that satisfied with the price of it. Overall I was not impressed with my filet, but the seabass was excellent and cooked perfectly. My steak was not all that tender and overcooked beyond medium rare. Flavor was just ok. I don't like adding any sauce to my steak and if it's cooked well and seasoned right, I never even think about sauce. In this case, it was a bit too bland for my liking. For the price, I expected much better for the steak. Ambiance is nice, but jeans and non-dress shoes seemed to be fine for the guys so it isn't overly dressy. It was an easy walk to the movie theater where we could sit down and have some more drinks while settling into a food coma during the movie.

We have been here quite a few times. The burger is amazing and so is the skirt steak. The Owner is often walking around making sure everyone is having a positive experience, which is great customer service. The only area for improvement would be that we wish it was a little bit bigger. When the are very busy, it can seem cramped, but cozy.

We had a great night at Hanna's. Hilary was off the chain. If you need any drink recommendation, she will hook you up. If I could give 10 stars I would give 10. Hilary came through and needs to be promoted to the manager. If you come to Hanna's, ask for Hilary. We will be back to enjoy the amazing service and food

We dined here for my dad's birthday. Unsure whether we needed to make a reservation, I made one at 11:30 am and arrived to an empty restaurant. The place started to fill up after 12:30 pm but it didn't seem so busy that you needed to make a reservation. Parking was easy. Service was great. Food was delicious. I got the seared ahi tuna salad and ordered some calamari to share with the table. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dish. My dad loved his steak. Their warm butter cake was on point!

Deserves all 5-Stars! Obviously I am not from the area and I was looking for a nice cozy place to take my GF for dinner. This place exceeded my expectations. Ambiance, Service and Food was top notch. When we came into the restaurant, you are greeted by a few people. The restaurant does give off a tricky vibe. The first impression that comes to you is this place seems loud and popping because you are greeted by the bar area. But when our table was ready, we were taken to the back and you enter into a room they call Devino Room. I think the initial reaction we had was WOW. A small room with about 8-10 tables surrounded by all 4 walls full of wine bottles. The feeling you get being in the room left you feeling at ease and relaxed. Taking you out of chaos and bringing you into an intimate setting. I love it when you come to a place and you are treated very well! Kevin who waited on us was Knowledgable and Attentive. Coming to a place for the first time can always be daunting because you don't know what dishes are their specialty. And when you come to a steakhouse it can be more challenging. Queue in Cronin's Cuts. A 14oz dish that has a few of their specialties. When Kevin mentioned Cronin's Cuts, I was immediately sold. I did not regret that decision. Filet Mignon, Sirloin Skirt Steak, Pork Chop and Skuna Bay Salmon all were delicious. I think we were very surprised at how well everything was. But now comes the nitty gritty. Filet Mignon - Cooked perfectly. No joke. The texture, the tenderness, even in color was on point. The only thing that got me... it was a bit under seasoned. Maybe throw in a slice of butter while it was cooking or a little bit more salt and pepper. Something. Anything. The Pork Chop - A little on the firm side but had good flavor throughout. The Pork Chop was the least dazzling from the four. It was just pork chops. No wow factor. The Skuna Bay Salmon was delicious! Aside from it being cooked just right the flavor was impressive. From the presentation, it seemed like it was baked and then grilled but it was cooked evenly inside out. Okay, so you might think I'm exaggerating on this one but the Sirloin Skirt Steak was amazing! I know right, Skirt Steak?? This has got to be the best Skirt Steak I've tried. Better then some of the steaks I've had at other "Steakhouses". Skirt Steak is known to be that rubbery chewing gum steak. If they don't have the right quality or if its not cooked properly, you will have the rubber cow in your mouth. But they hit is spot on. Tender. Flavorful and I mean full of juicy deliciousness. Even the look of it you can tell there is something different with their Skirt Steak. Nice dark almost caramelized on the outside but when you cut through, that pink juice center shines through. You know its a tricky feat because Skirt Steak isn't thick to begin with. Hannah's... you got me with your Skirt Steak!! I will be back and order a dish of that soon! Honorable mentioned - The Truffle Mac and Cheese. Nothing can blow me away more than a simple Mac and Cheese dish. This dish had an amazing combination of Cheeses and Mushrooms. A must have side dish. Lobster Egg Rolls - Yup, a good way to start your dinner. Half cut eggs rolls stuffed with lobster meat.

First time in with new menu. Started with the Avocado Awesome very good flavor. Then went with our favorite salad the not so proper salad. Then the new aged Parmesan risotto with asparagus unbelievable. We finished off our meal with two amazing desserts, the key lime pie and the crèmebrûlée. The experience was great from the moment we walked in the door, throughout the meal. Hilary was our server she was awesome and very professional. Over all great evening, can't wait to return!

Housed in a shopping plaza within view of a Kohl's and a Bed Bath & Beyond, the awesomeness that is Hanna's was a very pleasant surprise. Walking in on a Saturday night, the lounge and dining room were packed, and really loud. Fortunately, we had a reservation and were led back into the DaVino room, a tasteful oasis of wine bottles and quiet. Yay. Our server, who was fantastic the entire evening, quickly provided us with water, warm bread and the all-important wine list. Speaking of the wine list, it is on an iPad, making it easy to review descriptions of the extensive selection. On to the menu - so many items looked good, it was difficult to choose. Guess this means I have to go back and try them all! We enjoyed: Lobster spring rolls - a beautiful presentation - lightly crisp on the outside, and enhanced by the early-summer cherry emulsion (my favorite!) and sweet chili jam sauces Because great minds think alike, we both selected the center cut filet, topped with sautéed mushrooms. Served medium rare with broccolini and a side of béarnaise, this was perfectly sublime. The portion of grilled jumbo asparagus we chose as a side dish was huge - also, these were some of the largest asparagus ever but not at all tough or 'woody'. They had just the right amount of grilled goodness crunch. We were full. Very full. However, the call of the Warm Butter Cake could not be ignored. Paired with vanilla bean gelato and a drizzle of raspberry puree, it was a delicious finish to a great meal. Now that I know where to find this wonderful spot hidden in a shopping plaza, I will be back. Again and again and again.

A nice place in RSM for upscale dining. The place was PACKED on a late Thursday evening. Our group of 6 had reservations, thank goodness (Quick Tip: reservations highly recommended), and we were seated within minutes of our arrival. The place is actually fairly small, and has inside and outside seating. We picked indoor seating because our group tends to talk (and talk and talk) into the night. True enough, we were here pretty much until closing. Service never rushed us, and were accommodating of our needs - overall, a very nice touch. We ordered a vast array of items on the menu - multiple alcoholic drinks (tasty and with ample amount of alcohol); the calamari, deviled eggs, and wild gnudi thyme for appetizers; the beef stroganov, filet mignon, steak salad, ahi tuni salad, the salmon, and the asparagus risotto for dinner entrees; then the warm butter cake and the trio of sorbets for dessert. All were prepared nicely. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the garlic mashed potatoes side was a nice complement. The deviled eggs were also a nice highlight, as the yolk was seasoned with curry. The butter cake was not as amazing as everyone says it is. I thought it was a drier version of a plain yellow cake. Thank goodness for a la mode, though. Overall, I would come again. It has a casual and lively ambiance, and the food holds up well.

First time in 8 Years. What a great surprise. Service was attentive. Food was plentiful an excellent. I have a disabled sister and the immediately accommodated her wit no fuss. Will definitely be a regular now.

Today was my fourth experience at Hanna's Restaurant and Bar. I attended a company Christmas Party/lunch in the rear private wine room. The food and service had challenges. Let's start with the food. Started my meal off with the butternut squash soup. It tasted a tad too much like pumpkin pie. My guess is the chef added too much cinnamon, nutmeg and/or cumin. Hence rather than emphasizing the taste of the squash we wound up with something reminiscent of pumpkin pie. The soup bowls used were cold. Hence the soup did not come out of the kitchen hot enough. The calamari and bruschetta appetizers were tasty. Clearly no issues here. My ahi tuna salad was a nice presentation. However, the quality and freshness of the tuna was of concern. Something was wrong. My guess is the tuna sat around 2 or 3 days too long in the cooler. Service was very slow and I had to jump on a business call. Hence I could not be there for the desserts which I understand were quite good. However, there were real service issues as if they never did a lunch for forty before. I was not impressed and would have challenges dining here in the future. This is a high end prestigious establishment where I would have assumed they could do better.

I have been to many steak restaurants but I have to say this is the best of the best... They really need to expand and make the restaurant bigger they deserve it!!!
(5)Christina P.
I don't give 5 stars very often. But I must say, after tonights dinner, it is well deserved. The service, the food, all worthy of 5 stars. I have been to Hanna's a handful of times, but it's been awhile. I would go here sometimes with my coworker, and just split a salad and get drinks. Nothing to write a review about. After receiving a $50 gift card from my boyfriend's parents, I decided tonight is the night we use it! We came in at 8:30 so it was pretty quiet on a Tuesday night. I ordered a glass of La Creme and he a beer, and split the Not So Proper House salad, which was a good call on splitting it, it was massive and delicious. I had the Filet Mignon with the Merlot Reduction. Delicious! Only complaint is, when you are spending $35-$55 for a steak, it should come with both potatoes AND broccolini, not your choice of one or the other. The service here was great, our waitress was very nice and attentive. Great atmosphere, but I could do without all the TVs, it's really just a distraction.
(5)Kaitlin V.
Love the truffle Mac and cheese with roasted chicken! Service is great and ambiance Is lovely, it just gets a bit loud in a small space during the weekends.
(4)Valerie S.
My husband and I had their short ribs. They were delicious. The restaurant is rather noisy. The waitress we had was very good. There is a bit of an "air" with the crowd there. I found it somewhat amazing and good for people watching. Expensive food but my dish was amazing.
(4)Susan N.
Food is is very fresh here and great customer service. Appetizer overall very good but Edamame here too salty. Some of entree are not really impress than I expected.
(3)Jess M.
5 Stars for the BEST chicken arugula salad! I came here for lunch with friends once and have been addicted to their salad ever since! Let me tell ya... I live in Irvine and rarely do I trek south towards RSM, but I will take the toll roads just to come here for their salad. It just has the right mix of cheese cubes, chicken, grapes, celery crunch, fresh arugula... ooo writing about this has gotten me hungry and craving this for dinner. I have yet to try anything else as an entree for the last 3 times because I'm addicted to their salad!

I recently threw my sister a surprise baby shower at Hanna's and they were more than accommodating. They reserved us their Vino Room, and when we arrived to set up, we found the tables set and arranged to accommodate our party, plus a table for gifts and desserts as well as complimentary floral bouquets. Jessica was our server, and she was just amazing. Warm and friendly. She really took care of us and made my sisters day totally special. Once our guests arrived, everyone was still standing and talking, so they actually walked around serving us the appetizers rather than just placing them on the table to get cold. Above and beyond in my opinion. The food was amazing. Every single person had nothing but stellar remarks and the food came out all at the same time and perfectly prepared (not easy with a party of 17). I'd actually never had their lunch menu, and it was just the right sized portions. I have always loved Hanna's, but after this experience, I can't wait for another opportunity to have a private party there. Highly recommend.

Was in RSM for a business meeting and we decided to have lunch at Hanna's. My client said he had been before and there food is really good. We show up with our open table reservation and we were greeted but we were standing around waiting to be seated. It seemed like there was some confusion and there were 3 severs all at the front desk figuring something out. Then finally we are shown to our table. We sit down and order some Arnold Palmers and start with the deviled eggs appetizer. Our servers name was Cheri and I asked her about the deviled eggs and she said they are so good. As we were lookin over the menu Cheri was paying attention to us and kept refilling our glasses. So far Cheri has great service. We decided to ordered. I told Cheri I wanted The Ultimate O.C. Burger 1/2 lb medium with French fries and a side of ranch. My client ordered the Ruben sandwich with fries. Our appetizer showed up and it looked good. It had bacon and japalonos with a vinaigrette drizzle. Those were probably the best I have ever had. Kudos to Cheri those were great. After a little bit our food comes out and the portion size is huge. My burger looked good and my clients sandwich was huge. So I dig into my burger and it's well done which isn't surprising. As I keep taking more and more bits hoping there would be some more flavor there wasn't. This burger had a lack of flavor and sauce. It tasted like a burger patty with no salt or very little. It needed either garlic salt or more spices. Then I try my fries and those are over salted. I was thinking good thing I asked for ranch on the side but wait where is my ranch dressing? No ranch! I ask Cheri again and she brings it out quick. Overall the food looked appealing but it was the typical American way of Quantity over Quality. Me personally I'd rather eat a smaller burger that tastes amazing then a $16 dollar huge dry bland burger. Too each his own I guess. My client said his Ruben tasted good but didn't like the fact his bread was soggy. Overall this place is fair I'd say the deviled eggs were the best part of the meal. I think this place is a bit pricey I think next time I'll suggest Slater 50-50 they know how to make a burger taste good and it well worth the money. Thanks for reading. Matthew Y.

Unlike last night's review for the Restaurant at Orange Hill, where the service was so bad we left before eating, Hanna's was exemplary. The worst thing about Hanna's is the location, which doesn't have the wow factor. But my goodness everything else makes up for that, and some. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome. It was busy but we had made a reservation, and our table for two was ready for us. Service was prompt and friendly; the food was top-five-meals-of-all-time good. We had the 10 oz filet mignon and the 15 oz filet mignon bone-in. Both were seasoned beautifully and cooked to perfection. We had a delicious bottle of cab sav from a local winery, and after an epic main, risked ordering dessert. That was also amazing but we had to get it boxed - eyes bigger than our stomachs! The owner was out and about greeting the guests and pouring the wine, and was personable and charming - it's that level of service that makes this place a highlight of our stay in SoCal.
(5)Raymond H.
Not as great as it used to be. They are trying to hard to be something they are not. They should go back to the menu from 2009-10
(3)Kristen H.
Amazing food and service here tonight!! Went for our 24th anniversary...were treated to a complimentary champaign toast and dessert. All the good and drinks were awesome! Crazy good Mai tai...think my favorite thing was the espresso martini for dessert.
(5)Renee S.
Amazing service and food. I have never been disappointed. If I want something not on the menu they will make it. And of course their drinks are delicious!
(5)Lauryn B.
Initially, I had rated Hanna's with a one star. We had a bad experience there with service on Mother's Day. However, the owner, Dave Hanna, invited us back and our second experience was flawless. Service was impeccable. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. We never felt rushed but rather that we could relax and enjoy while taking our time with the meal. Food was delicious as well. We started with the charcuterie board. Fairly standard fare for a meat/cheese board, but a lot larger than you would typically see. Nice selection of cheeses and accompaniments. Most of us had the 6oz filet. Mine was cooked perfectly, as were the rest. My dad had the skirt steak and it was deliciously seasoned. We shared the truffle mac n cheese which was amazing, and my little brother was raving about the mushrooms he added on to his steak. I had a grapefruit martini for a cocktail and we shared two bottles of The Velvet Devil Merlot. It was Wine Wednesday so the bottles were half off as well. I'm glad we went back, because this time we received the service and experience I had initially expected. My boyfriend and I will be back to dine there quite frequently, and my parents seemed more than willing to go back as well. Props to Dave Hanna for getting us back in and rectifying a bad experience. That to me, was completely unexpected and shows how much he truly cares about his restaurant and the guest experience. We will most definitely be back again!
(5)Todd N.
Hanna's has great service but the food really seems overpriced for the quality. We had eight guys for lunch, no alcohol and averaged $31.00 per person. I'm fine with high prices if the food warrants that however here it does not. The food is good, just not $30 good. The $ rating needs to be $$$$ here for sure. Maybe a lunch (special) menu would help? The service was exceptional and that's why it got four stars for me.

Came here this evening for a 21st birthday dinner. This is a really high class place ! It's in a prime corner location but from the outside doesn't look as high end as it looks on the inside! First impressions is instantly classy . Me and my family sat on what feels like a private patio. It was 5 of us total. Patio has a really nice feel, comfortable seating really fluffy seat cushions. An if you feel to open or cold they have really nice curtains to close in the space an keep warm. Which is a really nice design . Food a wide range of really upscale entree's with really fresh ingredients . we had a deviled eggs appetizer which the combination of bacon an a lil serano chili great appetizer We also had calamari which was really a normal calamari but this place adds a twist to everything it had a unique roasted Chili's that weren't spicy but there for flavor I enjoyed the tagliatelle pasta a new item to the spring menu , my favorite part is the artichoke hearts. This is a really rich Italian dish The thing that made this whole experience the best was the service we had a younger server ,Matt , he was a really great server ! Checked on us every time we always had full drink glasses an he always asked if we needed anything. I got club soda he brought a pitcher out so I could self poor everytime he came out to check on us he would fill the glass. I was very pleased with the service! First time an it was perfect . It was a larger party too! It was great !
(5)Michelle Z.
Warm, inviting environment. Seated quickly and server was attentive from start to finish. Checked on us often without being overbearing. Food was tasty and they have a creative menu. We had small plates - roast beef dip and a braised beef rib taco. Both were well prepared. Nice experience for 2 out of towers. Thanks.
(5)Diane K.
Excellent service from start to finish and a fabulous creative meal. Fun drink specials and unique appetizers started off our great meal -- we enjoyed watching the various entrees leave the kitchen before deciding on the next course.

Great food and a very special place! Way to go Dave!!!

It has been a few months since i visited Yelp. I always like checking the reviews about Hanna's. I especially like the bad ones. I get such a kick out of the people who can not find anything positive about this place. The one person was complaining about something and i checked there other posts. The highest rating they ever gave a restaurant was The Melting Pot. You cook your own food at The Melting Pot people. Then there was a person who sad the owner would not call them back. Their highest rating was a nail salon. Quit smelling the acetone. Oh the guy complaining about the $100.00 hamburger. Bring an abacus next time and add it up BEFORE you order. Sorry that Burger King closed, but McD's is 300 yards away. I have been there 5 or 6 times since they changed the menu. I don't know what Christian is doing to those poor Pinkerton Avocados, but he should be arrested because they are orgasmically obscene. And Schenk's new Schenkerita (Think Moscow Mule with tequila and these sexy little cherries OMG) is so good, you will be calling Uber after the third one. They did something with Halibut the other night that I am sure is illegal in at least 7 States, but it was amazing. People, if you can't afford to go to nice place, don't. Keep up the good work Dave and Team Hanna's Love Ya.
(5)John P.
The food, drinks and service at Hana's are really good! I'm a wine drinker so I like the library room for dinner. I found the service to be friendly and attentive. Food and liquor prices are fair-the restaurant is definitely worth the visit.
(4)Alison C.
Came here for the first time last night and we will definitely be back! The staff was so friendly and helpful; they make you feel like a valuable customer from the hostess station, through the meal, and even as you're walking out the door. We started with the duck wing appetizer- SO delicious! Neither of us had eaten duck before, but this made us believers! My husband had a cheeseburger that looked fantastic, and I couldn't stop eating my short ribs even after I was stuffed because it was that good! An added bonus- we came in on Wine Wednesday, so wine by the glass is half off- woohoo!
(5)Admired Drunk V.
I'll keep it very short and too the point. The service and staff is over the top, A+. The food is amazingly delicious, A++. I highly recommend this place as you will not be disappointed!!!!
(5)Dw W.
How fast and how far they have fallen. I had a very frustrating experience and I decided to wait a few weeks to post because I was so upset. It's 8 weeks later I still haven't returned and important: the restaurant owner has not returned two phone calls. I'm done. Not going back. Disappointed for certain. But there are so many great places to eat in OC.

My husband and I went to Hanna's last night to celebrate our anniversary and it was hands down one of the best dinners ever! It's such a treat that we have this amazing restaurant in RSM. The service was exceptional and the food matched it! Tiffany, our waitress, was fabulous! Can't say enough great things!! Highly highly recommend.

Summary: Fantastic food and service. High quality in every regard. The library room is an awesome choice to dine in if you like wine. My Mom, Dad, Wife and I came here for dinner at 6pm on a Sunday evening (it was our first time dining here) to celebrate my Mom's and Wife's birthdays. We had reservations and it was really rainy out, so the place wasn't super packed inside. We were seated in the library room, which is where they have shelves upon shelves of wines, as well as the private lockers for special patrons. It was really cool room to dine in. Our server, Wyatt, made our experience fantastic, all throughout the night. I wouldn't say we are difficult people to have as patrons, but we can be finicky with our wine selections and ambient volume preferences. He was super patient about letting us try three wine options before deciding on one of them (because we just weren't sufficiently happy with the first two), he helped us move tables when the people at the table next to us got too loud, and he was super attentive to our needs all throughout our visit. Thank you, Wyatt. As for the food...wow. The steaks are definitely where it's at. My, Mom, Wife, and I each got filet mignon and were amazed by the tenderness and flavor. I recommend the blue cheese addon and the peppercorn sauce as excellent extras. The garlic mashed potatoes were awesome, the Brussels sprouts were amazing, and the jalapeno potatoes au gratin were pretty good (a bit too much cheese). Even the broccolini were excellent. I can also recommend the short rib and the chili (both were very tasty and tender). For dessert, we got the butter cake and the chocolate cake (one was complimentary as part of the birthday celebrations). Both were delicious, but the butter cake is unlike anything we had experienced before. Very sweety, buttery, and moist, but with a crispier outer crust of sugar. This was a clever dessert. The total came to about $100 per couple with tip, which isn't too bad given the wonderful time that we had. Again, this place delivers the whole package and we would definitely come back again.

#1 Steakhouse bar none in Our area. Its the best. All special occasionds are celebrated there. The food is out of this world not to forget to mention their Wonderful manager, who took time to stop by Our table to see how everything was. The Waitress was also top shelf. Classy, crowded, noisey ( go as far to the back as you can it is more quiet then being close to the bar.) i could eat here everyday. Everything is fresh especially the Creme Burlee Y-U-M-M-Y!
(5)Rick J.
Nothing bad to report about this place what so ever. Service was spot on, the atmosphere was cool and the meat temps where right on the money. The lack of the 5th star was simply because it was pricey! Probably not by CA standards but hey - I'm from PA and live near Lancaster so I'm particular....
(4)Laura L.
The food is amazing!!! It's often crowed and thus can get pretty loud. Still worth the noise for a great bite to eat and a couple of drinks with your friends!
(5)Nav P.
This place is really as good as it gets! They have amazing food, beyond exceptional service, and a wonderful atmosphere. High class is the only way to describe this place. I have spent numerous occasions including by birthday, anniversary, engagement, and even my wedding day here. The reason why this place also get's 5 stars is they provide an experience tantamount to a 5 star restaurant, *cough cough Mastros, without breaking the bank. They even offer no corkage fee on your first two bottles of wine should you wish to save a little extra on cost by bringing your own wine. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants ever and I'm so lucky to have it right in my backyard.
(5)Isaac E.
Beautiful restaurant , elegant , classy . Very well designed . Friendly staff, excellent service . The price is reasonable . The food is just acceptable . One think I noticed is people are very happy . Probably I should had given 4 stars I hope after my next visit I will ( hopefully 5 stars ) I want to like this place .
(3)Leah B.
Fantastic place. Been meaning to go for years and finally went. We will be regulars. Wyatt was our knowledgable server. The salmon was the best meal at a table of delicious food. Everything was perfect, which was refreshing as we are very picky. We will be regulars. This place is a gem.
(5)Paul B.
Hanna's is world-class. My family and I ate there today and had a marvelous experience. Summary: -Food: Amazing, by any measure -Service: Superb -Ambience: Very relaxing while still feeling like a happening place to be My young daughter chose Hanna's for lunch for her birthday. I saw several reviews indicating that they're not great for kids, but I thought for lunch it was perfectly fine. They have a good kids menu and the staff went all out to make my daughter feel special on her special day. I simply can't say enough good things about the entire experience. Our server, Alyssa, provided exemplary service and exhibited the utmost professionalism, knowledge, and hospitality. Everyone at Hanna's was great, and Alyssa took it to the next level, contributing to a very special memory for us.
(5)Damaris R.
Excellent Food, Service. Our waitress was Andrea and she was excellent. The entire staff works well together. Will come again with entire family.
(5)Mark J.
This place us really awesome. Food is simply the best in town and even out of town. Try the burgers. The burger with avocado is incredible. Wish they would have served me more bread. Although i didn't need it, I sure would have liked to have been offered it.
(5)Eric C.
Hidden little gem in SoOC! Great steak and ambiance. Had a blast w/the Wifey & friends. We'll be venturing back for sure.

Came here for lunch to celebrate my birthday (a few days early). I ordered the grilled artichoke appetizer (it had a creamy sauce with bread crumbs on the artichoke). It was large and tasted pretty good. Although probably wouldn't order it again. For the main entree I ordered the 6 oz. Filet Mignon with the Not So House salad (side order). The salad was really good, and fresh, consisting of whole leaf santa maria mix, goat cheese, candied pecans, local strawberries, raspberries with a white balsamic vinaigrette. The filet mignon was prepared medium, and although it seemed like it was a little over cooked, it was really good and tender. It was served with some butter on top of the steak withe a bernaise sauce on the side. At $32, it seemed a little pricey and the quality wasn't quite on par with a Maestros, but it was still VERY good. I really enjoyed the salad and filet. Finally for dessert they brought out their infamous warm butter cake with a scoop of vanilla gelato. The cake was buttery and fluffy at the same time. I felt the warm butter cake at Maestros was much more richer, but I still enjoyed it. It's definitely a great place to go to, the service is good. I'd probably come here for a more casual lunch (their wraps are about $15 or burgers for $10).

FOOD: Wednesday nights is a great time to visit Hanna's for the wine specials. To start, we had the calamari. The chef made an interesting twist using chiles, very tasty! For our entree, we had the bone-in ribeye accompanied with Brussels sprouts and french fries. The steak was a good size portion so you get your monies worth. However, it's not as tasty as I would've liked. Apologies, but I've just been to Petit Trois recently. The waiter kindly offered us a few choice of sauces for the steak - I preferred the wine reduction with mushroom. You can even order more than one. The best part of the meal was definitely the fries. SERVICE: Excellent! From the moment you walk in and until you leave, they treat everyone with great care. We were greeted by 4 pretty hostesses at the door, 2 to open the doors and 2 to manage the reservations and seating. Our waiter was very helpful, the staff was very attentive and even the manager stopped by.

You MUST try the Avocado as a starter. I love Hannas for many reasons including the fresh seasonal menu, and no corkage for the bottle of wine you bring! But, I am not even a big fan of avocado and this is amazing! I took 3 people in one week to try it! Grilled avocado with a citrus splash and crispy shallots with goat cheese whip! I am sure I am not describing it well! Check it out! And it is $5!!!

We did not enjoy the food at this restaurant. It definitely looked the part of a high end restaurant but it did not taste the part. Maybe it was the dishes we ordered, but we were not fans of any of the dishes we ordered, it all tasted bland. The service, however, was great... but we will not be returning, ever.

My meal was a 10! Excellent service! Don't ever change! I'll be Back again and again! Michael is the best waiter! Bacon burger, yam fries, truffle Mac and cheese, salmon!!! 10 plus! Thank you!

After looking at several venues to hold my wife's 50th birthday party, I chose Hanna's and couldn't have been happier! Throwing a surprise party on my own was a somewhat stressful experience, but Executive Chef Sean Reynolds was very helpful and commutative throughout the entire process. He met with me, familiarized me with the menu, made suggestions in designing the menu and offered ideas on how to make this a special evening. I arrived with my parents at 7:05 pm (the party was starting at 7:30 pm) with my parents to make sure everything was ready and the decorations were set up. I was met by Olivia who was going to be one of the servers for the evening and she took me to the patio area which had been reserved for this event. The decorations had already been set up by Amy with Signature Celebrations: ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… ) ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… ) ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… ) ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… ) Once the guest of honor arrived, the cocktail hour and appetizers started being served: ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… ) ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… ) ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… ) I thought all the appetizers were good, but the Sausage Fennel Flat Bread Pizza was my favorite. These little pizzas were very flavorful for such a small bite. The cocktail hour consisted of a completely open bar and the drinks were served in a very efficient manner. Once the cocktail hour ended, everyone was seated and we began ordering off the designed menu which included a salad and entrée. ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… ) ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… ) The birthday girl ordered The Wedge Salad and 10 oz. Filet and I chose the Modern Caesar ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… ) and the 10 oz. Filet ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… ) and steaks were served with Garlic Mashers. The salads were surprisingly large portions (my pic shows it almost half eaten) and Laina liked her Wedge and I thought the Caesar was okay. I heard the Not So Proper Salad was a huge hit ... apparently I ordered the wrong salad. The entrees were served a short time later, but unfortunately Laina's steak was a little cold and dry. I believe the owner himself actually oversaw the next steak and it was served hot and more juicy. I have a feeling because this restaurant uses sea salt for seasoning and my mother being highly allergic to anything from the sea, they erred on the side of caution and didn't season the steaks, they were a little bland, but the quality was very good. The another issue was my dad really didn't enjoy the chicken or brussel sprouts. The brussel spouts were very hard and the chicken was tasteless and dry. After dinner, the servers offered to take the cake I had brought and cut it up at no charge and returned with sliced plated for all the guests. We also had Beau Joie champagne for a toast to the birthday girl. There aren't enough positive adjectives I can use to describe the staff who helped take care of my wife and all our guests. Olivia and Wyatt were absolutely fantastic! They handled all my requests with enthusiasm, were extremely friendly and attentive and professional throughout the evening. Kevin (the manager) made sure the patio was set up and made private as soon as possible. I never felt anything was left wanting during the entire evening. They made sure no one was left wanting and made this evening truly unforgettable! I would also like to thank everyone who attended the event, their presence greatly contributed to the evening! Rohlinism: Money may not buy happiness, but it can buy some wonderful memories! The most important part of the evening was hearing how surprised and appreciative my wife was for everything that was done. I contribute her happiness in no small part to the great people at Hanna's!

Good service and friendly staff, but I must have had their one bad meal. I would have sent it back, but it was a business dinner and didn't want to interrupt the night's schedule. The ribeye steak I ordered had no char and had no basic seasoning on it at all (salt & pepper). I couldn't even finish the broccollini. They didn't trim off the lower roots and was pretty undercooked. Not al dente, but just undercooked. The one highlight? Warm rolls, those were good. Disappointed visit.

Always good food and service so one of our few go to restaurants in OC. Not so good this time. Even though we were a bit late table not ready, Seated in back room (library) which hadn't seen before and was nice however no background noise so too easy to overhear other tables conversations. Then about 20 OC bimbos showed up and spend ages hugging and cheering and who knows what while being loud and very annoying. We requested moving to another table and fortunately one was available but loud. Rest of dinner was a bit of a blur, food and service were fine although the menu is quite limited. The restaurant has become of a victim of it's own success, always very busy and loud and they keep increasing prices to the point now it's as expensive as any high end steakhouse in OC so no longer reasonable value. As such probably won't be going back there anytime soon at least.

Great service, meh food. Came here for valentines dinner. We had a reservation at 7, and were seated around 7:30. They totally over booked the restaurant and seated us at one of 3 tables that had been set up in the aisle between the normal tables. It was very awkward and cramped with servers running up and down on both sides of us. A regular table opened up just next to us and although we usually don't like to complain or be fussy, hubby politely asked if we could sit there, and the server was super cool about it and helped us move over there. As we moved, the couple next to us said they had originally been sat there as well and asked to move. Throughout dinner we saw 2 other couples be sat there and felt uncomfortable enough to ask to be moved. For a restaurant this pricey, it just felt kinda classless that they would try to shove as many tables as possible in every open space. I ordered a Manhattan and my husband a margarita. Both were ok. We then had the lobster bisque. It was average and could have been warmer. For the main course, we shared a 10oz. Filet, medium rare. It took about 45 minutes to come out and it was cooked medium well-well. The server came and asked if it was cooked correctly and again as we don't like to complain we said it was ok. I think she could tell something was up and asked again 'are you sure'? I remembered we were paying $45 for this steak so I said 'well it is pretty over cooked'. She was again super nice about it and said she would get us a new one. The new one came out rare... Both were bland and under seasoned. The mashed potatoes were average, and the 'spicy Brussels sprouts' weren't crispy but soggy, topped with a college student-esque Siracha mayo. They comped us a dessert of key lime pie, which is my fav, and it also was meh. With drinks and everything it came out to about $145. Totally not worth it by any means. We of course left a nice tip as the servers we had were all really nice and I'm sure it was tough with how busy they were! All in all, I agree with reviewers who have said this place only flies because of its location. There are *much* better restaurants for quite a bit less $$ if you venture out of south oc. And if you do go to a restaurant with comparable prices, I've found the quality to be 10x better than this.

I am a new fan of Hanna's Restaurant. Pricey but great. Sat at the chef's bar area and watched them cook many meals and it helped to see what we wanted to eat. The grilled artichoke appetizer was awesome. They had a special that was the selects of the day and got to sample some great meats. The server Michael was a great personable waiter. The female bartender made us a Manhattan and she know what she is doing as it was great. We will be back.
(5)Liz D.
The food is amazing!!!! Everything we had was incredible and the service was exceptional. I had the short ribs but swapped my grits for the truffle Mac and cheese. The rich flavor combined with the sweet and sour sauce on the ribs was delightful. The filet was so silky and melted in our mouths. Bruschetta was full of complex flavors. It was a pricey evening but definitely a memorable experience. Will definitely be back!!!!
(5)Karissa P.
Great service and amazing food! The atmosphere of the restaurant is awesome. Well decorated and like nothing I have seen before. I ordered a mix of regular fries and sweet potatoe fries for an appetizer which were delicious. For the meal I ordered the turkey sandwich and the not so proper salad. I have no complaints! The food was to die for. Definetely will be returning, besides the high prices, the experience was amazing.
(5)Josh N.
Indeed, Hanna's is as good as it gets. Yes, the food is outstanding, but the service is second to none. It's clear providing an outstanding customer experience is on Dave's mind - which is why we come back. If you're not into noise and buzz, request to be seated on the patio or in the wine room.
(5)George N.
Love love love this place!!! Service amazing. Drinks are BOMB. Little pricy but we'll worth it.
(5)Rachel K.
The food and especially the service are always great at Hanna's. My friends and I will often meet here for a girls night out on wine Wednesday. It is always crowded, even on weeknights. Its best to have a reservation ahead of time, especially for a group. We have often commented amongst ourselves that the customer service (which is non-existent at many places) is great at Hanna's.
(5)Matthew W.
We came here for my friend's birthday. Andy managed to reserve our table in the back room where they housed all the wine and wine lockers. The room was beautiful, nice to dine in front of all those great wines. The service is remarkable. Our waiter was always around to check up on us, chit chat and made sure we were doing fine. Time flew by, we stayed an entire hour after the place closed, yet we did not get kicked out. Would come back again.

Wow! Had a great dinner Saturday, thanks to Dave for all the special attention, he made our anniversary dinner one to never forget. I had blue cheese & Panko crusted New York strip with asparagus & a wedge salad. The steak was cooked to perfection and the plate was masterfully arranged. My wife got the sea bass and was similarly pleased. Dave cares for every guest as if they were guests in his home...very rare to see a steakhouse that is held to such a high standard. Bravo!
(5)Michelle E.
This place is a hidden gem!!! I love everything about this place, food, staff, desserts, drinks, ambiance ... Not many times do you come across a restaurant that far exceeds your expectations. We have dined here 2 times for dinner and both times we were blown away. Portions are on point and it's a great place to have a date night and is also family friendly. The staff here is very attentive and are very knowledgeable of the menu. We have so much great respect for the owner as he has an amazing establishment! Try their Chilean Sea Bass ... amazing! and also a must try is the Warm Butter Cake. It's huge!!! Warm inside and lightly toasted outside = perfection! We look forward to our next visit!!! Until then, happy eating!!! :)
(5)C M.
Probably the best steaks I have ever had. Tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked the way I ask every time! Make a reservation on the weekend as this place gets crowed!
(4)Era W.
DECOR: Very Nice ambiance in the restaurant. It bigger than it looks from the outside. We sat in the back room which was had a lot of cabinets with wine bottled stored for different people. Thought that was kinda cool. SERVICE: The waitress very friedndly and attentive. All the staff seemed very nice, so that was definitely a plus. FOOD: The food was DELICIOUS!!! We ordered a lot of different items and everything was wonderful! We tried the Coconut shrimp appetizer, the deviled eggs, and the brie. All VERY VERY GOOD!! Then for our dinners, my mom, sis and I shared some sides which were enough for the three of us. We had the Mac N Cheese, the Spinach and the Potato Au Gratin, all some of the best food I've had. My dad got the artichoke risotto which is to DIE for! My bro-in-law got the Scallops which was the special and he loved them too. The drinks were great too. The only downside is that the food is a bit pricey, but Hanna's is definitely a place you gotta try once, because its worth the price! I will definitely be back to have some food here again!
(4)Matt C.
I worked as a waiter for 8 years at a 5 star restaurant. The service at Hanna's was what I would strive for if I ever opened a place of my own. Top notch from the hostess, to the waitress, to the manager. My complements to the bartender for the drink special, a coconut mojito...tasted like a mojito / pina colada, two of my favorites. Food was excellent. I look forward to headed back soon.
(5)Debra D.
Absolutly amazing. Great food fantastic wine and impeccable service. A great date night spot. Romantic but neighborhood tavern feeling.

Well I could hardly wait for Saturday night to arrive. This was my first experience at Hanna's it was also a special occasion my 67th Birthday. I am a veteran of the Viet Nam war I saved up for 6 months to take my wife and I out for what I thought would be the best dinner of my life. I am not going to bash the food but for what we paid for dinner I was to say the least disappointed The Steaks were under seasoned good thing they had a salt shaker. I will not be going back to say the least I was very disappointed. oh well maybe it just was not my night. On top of it the drive took me 1 1/2 hrs.
(2)Kelsey M.
Stumbled over this place the other night and it was absolutely amazing! I have celiac while my boyfriend doesn't and there were plenty of great options for both of us. I ended up getting the halibut while he got the steak and neither of us could have been happier with our choices. We started with the artichoke which was cooked perfectly and a nice introduction to the meal, and I finished with the creme brulee which was to die for and the best way to finish off the meal. Other than the food the service was some of the best I've ever had. Stephanie was our server and she did a great job of making sure we had everything we wanted. We already made reservations for Father's Day and are actually going back later this week for another amazing meal!

I've read the other reviews for Hanna's, and even looked at their website ( hannasprimesteak.com ) to get the "rest of the story", as Paul Harvey used to say. To see it in the website, it looks like a "Woodsy Steakhouse", but walking in, it comes off more like a local, comfortable, high-end sports bar and grill. So given all that, we visited Hanna's today for an easy going Sunday lunch. I wasn't sure what to expect. Maybe it was "serendipity" that lead us to Hanna's? We, my wife and I, finally decided to try Pizza and Vino, RSM at the Lake, on my belief that fellow yelper "Mary R." is never wrong on any of her reviews! (...it's that blind-faith thing I have in some people?) Anyway, Pizza and Vino doesn't open until 430p on Sundays, and my wife was hungry. We almost did the Mexican place next door, but I nixed that just on my belief that if it were great Mexican, I'da known about it by now, right? I decided we should drive over to the RSM shopping center area, and worst case...and maybe it would be "worst case", do Daphne's. Well, my wife has visited Hanna's with her girl friends for lunch, and I was there once for a family dinner; a farewell dinner for our Navy son-in-law and our daughter. He went for his second MIddle East tour. BTW, he returned, in good condition, and is now stationed in San Diego. They live close by in RSM. Long story short, and you can check out my posted photos, we had a delightful lunch. It wasn't busy, a group at the bar watching football, and maybe four other active tables. My wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and I ordered the OC burger. We both had the yam fries. Damn they were good! The hit of the meal was splitting the soup of the day, which was "Chipotle Butternut Squash Soup." It was spicey, sweet, tangy, and wonderful. It was sooo good, that when we got home, my wife had me Google some recipes so she could make it. While our bill was nearly $40.... I think it had something to do with ordering yam fries that were not included with my sandwich? Balancing out the slightly expensive lunch bill, I have to say that our waitress really catered to us, and made us feel extremely comfortable. It was like being in a neighborhood bar. The seating, a booth next to a window, and the service was as I like it, and our food was steller. Could this have been just luck? I don't think so. From what I've heard, the staff works well together, and the owner really cares about his business and the clients that make it a success. I've not done the steak dinner approach here, but can certainly recommend this as a quality lunch spot. Had we not ordered the yam fries, our bill might have been closer to $30. I tend to believe that whatever they do here, it's good. And if it's not, the management will make it right. What more can you ask?
(4)Lisa J.
Great food and great service! The only thing I don't like is that 1. It's LOUD and 2. A lot of people bring their kids here, even though to me it seems more like an adult atmosphere. If you prepare and make a reservation, I promise you will be happy.
(5)Kathleen S.
Stopped in for a quick lunch with my mother. We decided to split the Rubin sandwich. It was amazing! Such a big sandwhich that easily filled the two of us when we split it.
(5)Jeremy C.
I ate here on NYE. Arrival - greeted by a great hostess that was very friendly Appetizers - the bruschetta here was different and very awesome. Salads looked good. I hat the filet with two sauces. The Merlot reduction and the Blue Cheese Garlic sauce. The Blue Cheese had a lot of flavor and was good. The cut of meat was absolutely delicious. Temperature came out perfect, etc. It seems they have some cool party rooms and space. Nice cool woodwork in the joint. Bottom line... I had a great meal here!
(4)R B.
What a great experience! Our first time there. The staff was attentive and caring. Our questions were responded to quickly. Food was great!! There was definitely a "no rush" attitude.
(5)Carmen P.
Oh my, oh my, OH MY!!!! This is our to go-to place for every birthday celebration in the Fam! :)
(5)Jonny D.
3 stars for the food 5 for the ambience and service! The good: No cork fee, nice decor, great waitstaff, decent food. The not so good: Expensive (Sea Bass was $40 and was slightly overcooked) :( butter cake is good but not worth $12. My date had the chicken and truffle macaroni (called "strange bird" or something like that). She loves it, but warning to those familiar with Yard House or those who do not like Brie or stinky cheese, the mac-n-cheese is a little different... The chicken was great though! :)
(4)Michael W.
Was defiantly impressed with the décor and service at this high end restaurant sports bar, Arrived at 11:30 am made reservation using Yelp and It worked. Hanna's did have my reservation and was not at all busy until after 12:00. I myself enjoyed the Hanna's Turkey Club and a couple of my guest had the salmon trio taco and the other had the steak trio taco. The food was great and reasonably priced. The bill was just $54.00. Now that is a once in a while treat but well worth it. If you want you can dine in the wine room. I give Hanna's 5 stars.
(5)Matt C.
If you are afraid of spending money for a small portion...this place is FOR you!!!! My date and I went here for our 1st anniversary. I have the pork chop with a pistaccio crusted top, and a gouda bacon cream sauce with potatoes. He had the flatiron steak with truffle fries. We shared a calamari appetizer, and it was amazing (they use the squid steaks so the pieces are huge. THey cook the meat however you would like, and their portions are certainly plentiful. Our waitress was amazing with suggestions as well. We also each had a glass (not a human size glass...a giant glass) of red wine (the SAngiovese....amazing). Our waitress then brought us a warm butter cake to share which she comp'd us for since it was our first visit and anniversary. Let me talk about this for a moment. You know when you meet that special someone and your whole body lets you know? That feeling that everything will be okay? The notion that when you walk out the door of the restaurant the world may suck, but life is good? Yes, that is this cake. All at the same time. I froze...it was amazing. OK, I think that's it. Oh no....when you walk in, every employee of the restaurant stops what they are doing to greet you. I really felt like it was my place. I will return!
(5)David A.
Took my wife here tonight and the food and service was outstanding. I can't think of any other resturant of this caliber in the area. It's great that I don't have to drive to Newport Beach for a nice dinner. Lobster bisk was wonderful as was the Sea Bass special and Salmon dish. Wasn't cheap but worth the price. I hadn't been here for a while but the new patio looked very inviting for a warm night.
(5)Mark I.
Squash soup. I hate squash but OMG. It's like a Thanksgiving party in my mouth. Everything else here is great but if you come for only one thing, make it the squash soup. Did I mention the squash soup? Try it.
(5)Cindy T.
Very nice place, fresh food, fast service , very tasty ! Me and my kids like this place, we've been there once a week as a treat! Always happy with this place! Come to try,it never let you down!
(4)Sheila A.
Love this place, great atmosphere and wonderful food. You must have reservations as they are always booked. Good for all occasions . Highly recommend for date night or getting together with friends, but not kid appropriate which is actually god thing to me.
(5)Jessica S.
I do not tend to mingle in restaurants that do not have dollar signs by their menu items. This is simply my cheapskate-ness. I was brought here for lunch by a colleague. I have to say I was quite impressed. I had the crunchy chicken salad and I absolutely cleaned my plate. It was also my coworkers birthday and they treated her to a complimentary cake and ice cream combo. Touche! A new favorite.
(5)Happy G.
This is our FAVORITE place. We have enjoyed Hanna's since it opened, dining here at least once a week. It is an very nice upscale restaurant and I almost hate to tell everyone just how great this place is, as we'd like to keep the secret to ourselves. But that wouldn't be fair. Great service, it truly is a quality and professional staff, We love the visits to our table from the Chef, the Sommelier and the owner Dave, really nice to meet you and let you know how much we enjoy the cuisine. Very personal touch. The food is melt in your mouth amazing. Dave Hanna is in close touch with the community hosting numerous charity events. Did I mention the Wine Tasting, Love it, have found new favorites and Dave is always happy to place re order for us. The pork chops and Mary's roasted chicken are favorites but now Chef Sean is creating homemade pasta entree's that are super tasty, WOW and YUM.it is a casual to dressy attire, we usually like to dress up a little for a dining experience this special : ) Just can't say enough nice things about this place, you have to try it.
(5)Karen B.
Great food and friendly atmosphere. The staff is attentive and make you feel like your business is appreciated. The Brie and pear appetizer is so yummy as well as the ahi tower... The worst thing about this place is that there's too many delicious choices on the menu besides the fantastic steaks, that it's a challenge each time to select a meal!...I will keep coming back for more!
(5)James H.
Hanna's is the best restaurant in South Orange County. What makes them great is this: Dave, the owner, is so hands on. He works closely with his staff to ensure great communication and deliver an outstanding customer experience. He personally visits diners, table by table, to get feedback. The service is outstanding. Walk in the door at Hanna's and EVERYONE stops and greets you with a warm smile - hostesses, servers, cooks, etc. The food is very good, especially the filet. Great job, Dave, keep it up!
(5)Holly S.
I met my girlfriends her for dinner last weekend and was so impressed. Here's my take: The service was outstanding. Everyone in the restaurant was so attentive from the time we walked in until we finished. Even, the owner, Dave(?), spent alot of time with us just chatting - super nice guy. The food was excellent. Everything was cooked perfectly. The wine list was extensive. I had the yummiest Cab in a long, long time. The prices were a bit high but definitely in line with the service and quality of the experience. GREAT, GREAT place.
(5)Lil Z.
My bf took me here on my birthday. It was our first time here and here are my observations: FOOD: AVERAGE For appetizer, we had THE De-Con-Structed Ahi Tower - it was TOO MUCH rice and too little fish! BLAH! NEXT! Entrées - I had Chilean Sea Bass, my usual fav fish. Again, I was NOT impressed. It was pan-seared, served with sautéed organic spinach, mashed potatoes & garnished with a sweet-white corn sauce. NOTHING special, very typical style. My bf had the beef Stroganoff and he said it was ok as well. Dessert: FREE chocolate cupcake - lots of chocolate chips, delicious! SERVICE: GOOD PRICE: OVERPRICED for the food quality. RETURN: NO. P.S. It baffles me how many people crowded this place, perhaps it's the happy hour? O_o
(2)Leslie E.
Awesome neighborhood hang out - especially the side patio with the privacy curtains and the back wine room. Exceptional quality and fun atmosphere. Great menu, great service, generous drinks, and multiple dining options - inside, outside, at the bar, or at a cozy booth.
(5)Nancy B.
Excellent food from appetizers to dessert! I've lived in RSM for 12 years and driven by Hanna's many times and never eaten here. I am now kicking myself for not stopping in sooner. Steak was heavenly and service was great. Our server heard it was our first time and brought us some of the truffle mac and cheese because "we had to try it". YUM! As a prime steak house, its a bit pricey, but its a great place to celebrate a special occasion. We'll be back!
(5)Art P.
Great steakhouse and bar in RSM. Friendly atmosphere and good food. Considering this part of OC has long been a wasteland, Hanna's is an important and welcome part of the landscape!
(4)Cindy M.
Excellent place to get awesome service and phenomenal tasting food and to be surrounded by nice polite people. One of the best around
(5)Robert H.
Another great dinner at Hanna's! Few buddies treated me to an early birthday dinner. Had a party of 7 and everyone loved the food, service and ambiance. Mr. Hanna knows how to provide a great dining experience! Some items I had Bone in filet Ahi Bacon Brussels sprouts Wedge salad Butter cake - somewhat similar to Mastros.
(5)Zachary S.
This is a local gem that would stand out regardless of where it was located. Great steaks and wine list but the chef is excellent so you can be confident that whatever you order it will be good (from fish to chicken, to the beef stroganoff). The ambience is great! Casual, comfortable environment with friendly, attentive staff. I love this place!
(5)Elizabeth O.
Love this place! Always yummy and always has great service. I would eat here every night if I could.
(5)Lauren T.
The food and service are very good. I have had better food, which is why the 4 instead of 5 stars (I'm stingy on stars, with 5 only reserved for the best of the best). But Hanna's is fun, the staff is always pleasant and the drinks are terrific.
(4)Rob H.
Hanna's is the best restaurant in RSM and Dave is pricing his food that way. The steaks are good but more expensive than some of the best steak houses in the country. The place is packed with people and bar seen is full of people eating at the counter. There is really no place to go have a drink even though the bar is large. Hanna's is a fun place to go too, just be prepare to pay for it.
(4)Jacki D.
One of my favorite RSM restaurants. I typically come for lunch, and usually get the crunchy chicken salad. Its delicious.
(5)Megan C.
Amazing food and great service! Filet skewer appetizer is a must! They come with a homemade bleu cheese sauce which i have to order extra sides of to dip any and everything in. The scallops are probably the best I've had anywhere. It's definitely on the pricier side but, in my opinion it's well worth it.
(5)J B.
Wow, I haven't been this impressed with a restaurant in quite some time. To start, the service was superb. Our waitress, Maggie, was very sweet, very attentive and and excellent server. For that matter, the whole staff seemed to enjoy their jobs, were very polite and helpful and couldn't be nicer. In this day and age, of horrible customer service, this place was a breath of fresh air. Everyone was genuine, something that I found lacking at the high end places like Mastro's. Now the food.....we didn't know where to start with the menu. Everything looked amazing. We started with an Oyster special, had the halibut entree special which we shared and finished with a Chambord Shortcake and Peach Cobbler. The food was excellent. The portions were easily shared. In-fact, it couldn't have been any better, and the peach cobbler...I had a dream about it last night. We just discovered this place and will now be regulars. The exterior of the building is unassuming. The prices are fair, maybe even low for the quality of service and food that is served. The atmosphere is casual to dressy. They have excellent drink specials including half off wine bottles (Thursdays I think). Bottom line. We can't wait to return. Thanks for the great dining experience.

Our favorite place in Orange County for a high end meal. Excellent cocktails, creative appetizers, amazing steak, and fantastic service.
(5)Russell B.
The food here was amazing. The service was great. My new favorite restaurant in RSM.
(5)Chelsea G.
Must say hands down best customer service I have ever received at a restaurant. We were squeezed in for a reservation on a packed Saturday night which was awesome as we were told the wait is usually an hour to two hours long. Our waitress Chelsea was extremely friendly and asked if I wanted my daughters (who is 3) food put in so it would come out with the appetizers. Major bonus points in my book. We then were served some delicious shrimp cocktail and Caesar salsas which were amazing. Once we got dinner my boyfriend noticed that his burger was pretty rare for his taste and asked for it to be sent back. Not only did the mama get come over and apologize he took the burger off the bill and gave us a $15 gift card to come back. Best customer service!!!

My girlfriend and I have been to Hanna's several times over the past couple of months, and I can say without question that this is the finest restaurant I have ever dined in in Orange County. Our first visit was on a Wednesday night when Hanna's has bar specials, and the place was extremely crowded. However, the hostess was great, and we were seated within minutes even though we didn't have a reservation. That night we had salmon which was outstanding, but the thing that separates Hanna's from other restaurants is their service and overall consistency. The servers go all out to make you feel welcome, and the service is consistently impeccable. Their no corkage fee policy for wine is almost unheard of in Orange County. Hanna's offers excellent food, great value and outstanding service and is totally deserved of a five star rating.
(5)Cristine F.
One of the best steak places in Orange County and just here in our backyard!
(5)Rod K.
Always fun at Hannah's. Being a cigar lover it's nice to be able to go out on their beautiful patio lounge and enjoy cigars and drinks after dinner.
(5)Ali N.
The steak here was really good! i got the Bone in rib eye and it was cooked to perfection!
(4)Cari B.
I don't often give out 5 stars unless everything is impeccable. Hanna's service was excellent if not too attentive. They were so accommodating for serving a half order or bringing out a taste of something to determine if you like a menu or wine choice. I had a nice glass of Pinot noir with the caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes and fresh burrata cheese. Mmmnnn it was truly delicious. I also ordered the petite filet with a little blue cheese and they brought 2 sauces on the side so I could choose. The steak was cooked to perfection and the pomme frites were perfectly crisp. I am certainly impressed, and will be back!
(5)Don A.
food was great, service very friendly. nice restaurant. I diffiently go back
(5)Jeff L.
Amazing service, fantastic food, and NO corkage fee....but they also have a great, albeit a little pricey, wine list. EASILY the best service in south orange county! Dave, the owner, was stopping by all the tables to check up on the patrons, I like to see that. Go...TONIGHT! Inside is loud and lively, we prefer outside, patio dining, very quiet and intimate. There also seems to be a cigar patio on the other side of the restaurant.

I've lived near Hanna's for many yrs and finally tried it. My husband got the "Five Dollar Burger", it was a lot of top bun with a small piece of meat under there. The French fries were DELISH! I got the Hanna's tacos lettuce wraps - not nearly as good as PF Chang's. They needed a little umph so I added Tapatio. This place is "just OK" - wont rush back.

Such a hidden gem! We don't live in the area but are house sitting nearby. We spent my husbands birthday here and were so pleasantly surprised! It's in a shopping center but when you walk in, it rivals a top notch Vegas restaurant. We both had fish (don't eat red meat) and it was cooked perfectly! The not so proper house salad was SO good. All of the ingredients are super fresh, every raspberry was perfect, not a single flaw. Service by Wyatt was perfect, wine was great, ambiance great. If we lived nearby, we would be regulars.
(5)Marie S.
Hubby and I went here on a date last night. We were greeted by 2 hostesses, which I think is so important at a busy restaurant. The one that helped us was Juliette and she was so accommodating. She sat us at the bar seating that overlooks the chefs cooking all the restaurants food. This may sound like an odd place to be seated but it is actually a reserved section that can add to your conversation and fun on a date night! We really enjoyed our waitress, our cocktails, and the chefs were amazing! They were busy but let me tell they did not lack anywhere. They all seem to work so well together. It really fascinates me, being someone who really enjoys food but doesn't enjoy cooking! We tried a bit of everything. Not only was the food delicious but the presentation was exciting as well! We really enjoyed our experience with all the helpful staff and to top it off delicious food. We will be going again soon! Enjoy if you go, you will not be disappointed :-)
(5)Jessica W.
I've been here a few times and it's one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always good. Love this place! It's the perfect place for an occasional splurge date night. White Cosmo martini is awesome. Filet is awesome. Stroganoff is the best ever. The pork chop is my favorite though.
(5)Brent J.
Went last night to Hanna's and had a great time! Food and service were both great! We will definitely go back.
(4)Ann C.
Pretty good. Went here for dinner the other night, the people and service were great. Everything on the menu reminds me of something I've seen somewhere else, perhaps at Houston's or something? I don't think I fully grasp the vibe of this restaurant...

if you are looking for a first class experience and delicious food/drinks check out Hannas! my husband and I have had of date nights at Hannas and it has been amazing every time. the food delicious and the staff is fantastic! south oc (especially rsm) is low on great non chain spots and Hannas is a gem

The steaks are great. If you and that special someone are looking for a place to have a romantic meal, birthday etc , you've come to the right place.

Remember that time in my last review here, almost three years ago, when I said I had to come back for a proper entree? Well, that time has come and, man, did I wait too long to do it. My gf & I decided to drop in on a slow Wednesday night so we could put a $50 gift card we'd gotten to use. $50 barely covers a steak here, but if you're going to come here for a bite make sure to do it right and don't skimp. We got a cozy booth up near the front and our waitress took drink orders. They had a tasty Hangar 24 Orange Wheat beer on tap that was crisp and refreshing. Another server came out and brought us freshly-heated rolls, one each, that were a great kickoff to the meal. Who needs an entire bread basket anyway? One perfectly cooked roll was more than enough. For a little appetizer, we split the Not So Proper House salad. It's got goat cheese, candied pecans, strawberries, and raspberries over a light green mix. The salads here are large, so it's recommended you split it unless your meal is just going to be salad. Great warmup for the main course. I went big and got the 14 oz. NY Striploin, which came with a choice of garlic mashed potatoes, pomme fries, or broccolini. I went with the mashed potatoes but, really, if I'm paying $53 for a steak that should be an "and" not an "or". I can't make a single complaint about the food, however, because it was sublime. That steak melted in my mouth. Truthfully, one side is enough when you've got nearly a pound of meat staring you in the face. Had I gone with a more modest cut, it would be a different story. What really set this meal off was the service, which was nothing short of impeccable. They know how to treat their customers right here. All aspects of the meal were handled perfectly. I've been to many higher-end eateries where they don't act like they appreciate your business; they do here. It may not be the kind of spot I'll eat at once a month, but for the right occasion a dinner here is about as good as it gets.
(5)Corey M.
Amazing food...will come back again and again! The new chef has spectacular culinary skills. We love this food and the customer service is great. Thanks hannas
(5)Angel A.
Everything about this place is phenomenal. The service is top notch, food is delicious and the cocktails are always on point. We cannot get enough of this place. The owner and customer service from the staff is the best I've seen anywhere.

Honestly this is home away from home for us. The main hostess with the mostest is bombastic. Shauna makes every customer know just how special they are!! She knows everyone who visits feel special, welcome and truly valued as a dinner. The staff is amazing, food is Delish and of course we love the wines.
(5)Kimberly K.
One of our favorite" go to" steak houses. Perfectly prepared and highest quality cuts. Sauces are divine... Say yes to the peppercorn , blue cheese and mushroom sauces Good wine list... Overall recommended...

A birthday gala was celebrated for one of my good buddies Laina A, whose husband Rohlin dedicated his love in surprising his "Other 1/2" to one of their favorite restaurants located minutes eastward from Laguna Hills, or 15-ish minutes from Irvine. Along with Simon N, friends like Schel, Craig, Bob, Tami, Greg, Dave, and Laina's family, we dined and chatted underneath a somewhat Over the Hill decked-out, ruler-shaped patio, awaiting Hanna's courses of salad and protein-packed entrees specific for the birthday night. For the 1st course Simon & I shared the exhorting Not So Proper House Salad ($11), which brought up a peppery tang from the arugula mix, goat cheese, berries, and white balsamic vinaigrette. What made this salad strangely fancier yet so much more ambrosial than its moniker was the crunchy and uniquely exhilarating candied, toasted pecans haphazardly sprinkled all over. Essentially, this slightly bountiful fresh greens would be fitting for either the generous caregiver or the avaricious hoarder. Our main courses were more of a mixed bag. I dispassionately picked Mary's Farm Roast Chicken ($28), which was presented as 1/2 the poultry infused and plated with meyer lemon and Brussels sprouts gremolata, which laymen's term means an herb condiment, plus garlic mashed potatoes. The zesty lemon and faintly pungent yet softly textured sprouts were distinguishable, yet all in all didn't significantly mollify the disappointingly vapid and nearly arid pieces of meat. On a positive note to this plate, the mashers were up to par with the garlicky substance. Simon's dish, the Skuna Bay Salmon ($31), was in stark constrast to the bird. At the chef's recommendation of the fish cooked medium rare, it was flawlessly and consistently tender and yummy in itself. More astounding and deliciously magical was what the filet was on top of: this creamy, rich, delicately floral al dente risotto incorporated with enigmatic drops of Tahitian vanilla bean and champagne, accompanied with cara cara orange beurre blanc. The first few bites from his dish led me to utter, gastronomic envy that we eventually switched plates. While conversing with Schel H for 3 min, I subconsciously left no piece behind the plate--except for the pink lady apple slaw garnish I deliberately neglected. One other notable edible item that I also highly recommend is their eggy appetizer called Mediterranean Style Deviled Eggs, dolloped with a blend of yolk, hummus, and olive oil to rightfully give a South Beach spin, that those not allergic to eggs would eat all 6 of the morsels if served at their serving size ($9). So if you wish to throw a spectacular, indelible celebration, or book an intimate and non-distracting date night in an unfamiliar, seemingly isolated, yet opulent and quaint OC town, Hanna's and her top-notch crew will ensure all pleasant adjectives and experiences you're counting on. If born a 2nd tummy and a silver spoon, I could opt for the filet mignon that some of my Yelp buddies were locked up in foodie heaven for.

I've been wanting to go here for a while and I was not disappointed by the wait. No need for me to go to Mastros in Costa Mesa anymore. Service and food was perfect. Just need a babysitter again for the kids.

What can I say? ! This will be a very biased review. My incredibly wonderful husband threw a surprise birthday party for me and Hanna's Restaurant was one of the stars in the glittery field of stars of food, wine, appetizers, cocktails, family-stars, awesome Yelper star friends and courteous and gracious staff. I'm so old...as evidenced by the fabulous balloons! yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… and yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… The food was also a star at this dinner celebration: sausage fennel flatbread (loved) yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… and hummus deviled eggs and bruschetta. My co-celebrants had a choice of salads: Caesar, Chopped Salad and Not So Proper House, with a mix of lettuce, berries, goat cheese and candied pecans. I understand the winners were the Chopped and the Not so Proper (I should have snagged a bite of Ruth's)! Entrée choices were 2 sizes of filet mignon, salmon and chicken, with various side accompaniments. I had the filet and while it was very tender and a great steak, it did lack some seasoning. I wish I had known that Hanna's had Bernaise, I would have gobbled that up quick. I cannot say thank you enough to my beautiful daughters, my wonderful in laws and so many incredible friends for being there to help me celebrate and just writing this is giving me tears of joy and good memories. A truly heartfelt thank you for your love and celebration. From what I was later told and filled in upon, Hanna's owner/management and executive chef really stepped it up and treated my husband great and were helpful, when so many other restaurants were apparently "ridiculous" with some of the demands of money, etc. This was not a cheap evening, but apparently Hanna's tried to do everything possible to make it fabulous while still making sure they were making a profit. Thank you for everything! Rohlin, my love, my sun, my moon and my stars...I Love You.
(5)Jason F.
Well prepared steaks. Tasty appetizers. Great selection of wines, beer, and cocktails. In RSM, Hanna's is a great place to go for a great meal.
(4)Michelle B.
Extremely impressed with Dave and the customer service we received. After a disappointing first visit on Mothers Day 2015 I was surprised when Dave personally called me Monday afternoon to apologize and refund our bill to our credit card as well as invite us to return for another dinner on him! In this day and age this is unheard of but should be the norm. Both visits our meals were excellent! Tonight we returned to celebrate our daughters 22nd birthday and everything, food and service was stellar! Thank you Dave for going above and beyond! Wish I could give more than 5 stars. We will be back and recommending Hanna's to everyone we know!

My experience at this fine restaurant was great. The food was delicious and the service was beyond impressive. If you want to eat some good food and drink some fine wine in a classy place, this place is for you. My server Olivia was cool and helpful. Try the delicious Steak with Chimi Churi sauce and drink some Argentine Malbec wine.

I love it when a plan comes together. Great (and I mean great) service, great cocktails, the butter-omg-cake and pumpkin cheesecake - fab. Girls night and a movie ---off without a hitch.

Got to hang out here with some yelp friends last weekend and this spot treated us right. It was a surprise party for Laina A. thrown by her hubby Rohlin A. You could argue Hanna's deserves a 5th star for making us all feel welcome and hooking us up with the outside patio to ourselves. From what Rohlin told me, they were very professional working with him, so I'm sure if you are planning an event, Hanna's is a good choice. I however am all about food. Food, Glorious Food! While Hanna's was pretty good, it wasn't mind blowing, and just a solid 4 stars. We started off with some tasty appetizers of deviled eggs, with a skyscraper yolk just daring you to try to make it fit in your mouth. These were pretty tasty with a hint of curry powder added to the yolk. The Bruschetta Nouveau was on the sweet side with roasted red pepper tapenade, caramelized onions, apples, and balsamic. The sausage and fennel flat bread pizza's seemed to be the most popular of the trio of appetizers. yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… I really enjoyed my wedge salad, although it could have used a little more blue cheese dressing. One of the joys of the wedge is having the blue cheese get in all the nooks and crannies of the iceberg lettuce, which didn't really happen here. However the veggies for the salad were very fresh, crisp, and refreshing. No complaints about the amount of bacon or the size of the salad in general. This was almost a meal in itself. Rather than a normal wedge, this was a half of a head of lettuce that acted as a bowl. I know it's simple, but if I was nearby and wanted to get a nice fresh salad, I'd be back for the wedge or one of their other salads. Many people were bragging about the "Not So Proper House Salad" yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… For the main course I had the Skuna Bay Salmon, which was perfectly cooked medium rare with a nice crust on it. Loved the fish, however wasn't as into the risotto that came with. It was infused with vanilla and champagne. However it just came off as lemony to me and on the sweet side. Also on the plate was a sweet apple slaw. So we have 2 sweet flavors going on. I guess the apple slaw added some crunchy texture though. I was hoping the orange beurre blanc sauce would off-set some of the sweetness, but it didn't really pull it off. yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… Tried some of my wife's filet mignon as well, since they do prime steaks here. Nicely cooked medium rare, but very little seasoning used, if any. It needed a little table salt and I was good to go. Just an ok steak at this price point and while it is a prime steak, I'm starting to believe some steaks are more prime than others. The word prime seems to be getting thrown around a little too much these days. yelp.com/biz_photos/hann… Because of the distance from where I live, I'm not sure I'll make a return trip to Hanna's, however if I lived nearby, I'd definitely come back and try other things on the menu. And like I said, they definitely treated us right for a special event, so hats off to them for that!

Came here on a Thursday night for a nice dinner with a girlfriend. Our server Michael was Excellent! He was very prompt and knowledgeable. The pineapple fusion mojito was super refreshing and of course you can't leave without ending with the butter cake! The service was overall Outstanding!
(5)Pat E.
Great food, great ambiance. The owner made sure we were well attended to and served. Highly recommended. Get the truffle mac and cheese, add the blue cheese spread to your steak and get the warm butter cake for dessert.

I went to Hanna's a couple years ago and remember it being really good, but I had a lot of restaurants on my bucket list and a favorite restaurant that received a lot of my business already. Fast forward to my birthday the evening of March 21, 2014 and I was blown away by my birthday dinner at Hanna's and will say it is easily the best restaurant in the RSM/Ladera Ranch area. The service was excellent as well. Our waitress took my difficult question of a wine pairing with beef stroganoff to the sommelier and he/she gave an excellent recommendation! Now to our meal: Truffle Mac N Cheese- many know, but a lot don't that I am on a "taste 75 OC restaurants Mac n cheese" mission. With that said I had to try Hanna's as it was on my list and it simply blew me away and is tied for first. They use a mezze pasta shape, which is unique in a positive way. I am not 100% sure on the cheeses in the sauce, but it's amazing and it even had a nice panko crust on top.... Just to die for. Highly recommended! Baked Brie + Poached Apple- Apricot jam, cranberry and pecan compote, served with grilled crostini bread. My wife is a huge fan of baked Brie, so I knew she get it. I thought it was good, but it didn't blow me away like every other item did. My wife recommends it however. Prime Rib Dip- Sweet peppers, caramelized onions, roasted garlic aioli, pepper jack cheese, au jus, toasted brioche roll and fries. My wife ordered this and let me taste since I'd be reviewing it. Man oh man, all you need to do is look at the ingredients again and you will understand. The prime rib was tender as can be and the accompaniments all went so well together. Highly recommended! Beef Stroganoff- Prime filet mignon, portobello mushrooms, pappardelle pasta, Merlot reduction, Dijon mustard and creme Fraiche. Beef stroganoff is my favorite comfort meal. I make it a lot myself and always order if it's available. Hanna's version is hands down the best rendition I've tasted in OC. Highly recommended! Warm Butter Cake- Vanilla bean gelato and raspberry coulis. This was a complimentary dessert since it was my b day. The butter cake was delicious and it had a crunchy sugary topping that resembled those short bread cookies in the blue tin. All in all we loved Hanna's and I am excited that we don't need to travel far for an amazing upscale meal. ***** (5 Stars)- Amazing, zero flaws, a must go! (Not given often) **** (4 Stars)- Memorable, strongly feel you should visit *** (3 Stars)- Above average, worth a visit ** (2 Stars)- Average, some pro's and some con's * (1 Star)- Opinion is do not go, below average

Ate there again last night. As usual the food was outstanding and my steak was cooked at the temperature that I ordered. Service was perfect and always accommodating. We request Hilary every time and we are never disappointed. She is the best server in the restaurant. The bartender "Dave" always keeps the bar lively and the drinks flowing. The bartender "Jaime" is attentive and always a sweetheart. Good job to the staff and to the owner Dave. A definite asset to Rancho and south county!
(5)Debbie K.
Excellent service and a great dining experience! I will continue to frequent this restaurant !

As good as it gets folks! My boyfriend took me here for dinner last Friday. We never thought much of the place from the outside but were in the mood to try a restaurant close by. I was prepared to make dinner when my bf texted me he wanted to take me to dinner instead. So he picked me up at 8:20 and we got the the restaurant at 8:30. We were seated immediately. The restaurant has a long bar that goes through the entire place and has tables and booths along the edge. The place is like a big L-shape. The service here is impeccable. I've eaten at Michelin star restaurants in many different cities and this place is right up there for service. The wine list comes on an iPad though, and the rest of the menu is printed (not a huge fan of that inconsistency, but whatever). My bf and I each got a glass of wine. What we ordered and got: Bread: large fresh sourdough rolls. Soft and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. It comes with individual pats of butter in little saucers. My one complaint is that the butter wasn't soft enough to spread onto the bread. This bread is amazingly delish though, my bf got two rolls. Wedge salad (split): they split, chopped, and dressed the salad for us. Amazingly well prepared salad, but I guess you can't ill prepare a dish of cheese and bacon :P Strip steak with broccolini: this was my entree. I ordered it charred medium rare. Best strip steak I've had in a while. I cook steaks at home really well myself, so for a place to impress me, it has to be really good. This place impresses me :D The broccolini is very good as well. Cooked in a lot of butter and hints of minced garlic. The veg was still nicely green and crispy. 14 oz bone in filet with mashed potatoes: what my bf got. He ordered it medium rare as well. The steak came out the perfect temp near the edge, but near the bone was still stone cold rare. My bf asked for that part of the steak to get thrown back on the grill. Our server did that and when she came back with it, the steak was on a fresh plate with a brand new mashed potatoes and garnish. It was as if he got an entirely new entree. That's a notch above the rest! The owner even came around as we were finishing up to introduce himself to us and ask us how our meal was went. We had nothing but glowing words to say. This restaurant operates at a class above itself. I love it! My bf and I were too full to try any dessert. We are definitely coming back, and next time saving room for dessert even though I don't even like sweet things. I can't imagine this place having anything below this incredibly high bar of expectations they've set. I hope that I can still get seated immediately once word gets out how good this place is, but I rather they get the business than keep it a secret for my own selfish needs.

If I could give an extra star as a kicker I would. The service was spot on from the moment we entered to the time we left...and this was a lunch service. I was trying to be good and "settled" for the arugula & chicken salad Holy OMG it was sooooo good. My husband had a cheeseburger and was completely satisfied...he commented as he was savoring the bacon "this is so good, you can definitely tell quality product when you have it" we brought a bottle of wine (no corkage fee) and could not have been happier...until we sealed the deal with a butter cake. Not a cheap lunch, but not expensive either. It was worth every penny and I can't wait to come back again for that salad...YUM. Thanks Hanna's!
(5)Linda R.
Let me start by saying I really wanted to like this place. When I yelped to try and find a decent restaurant in the coto area this place looked as if it was my best hope, however it was extremely disappointing! I have tried this place twice the first time was for the appetizers and wine. I decided to give it another try, thinking ok so they really don't have very good appetizers. I was so very wrong.... They just really do not have good food! Hanna's is way over priced for the quality of food that you receive. I don't know how you can screw-up a salad, but they definitely did! The salad I ordered had almost NO dressing on it (although my date got the same thing and it had too much dressing). The meat in the salad was much like rubber, and the waitress was non-existent, so by the time she came back we asked for our check and left. I have to wonder if the 4-5 star reviews are coming from yelpers that have actually stepped out of the RSM area and ventured to other areas of OC?? Pretty sure you can walk across the street and get better food at the pizza place!! Needless to say I do not recommend this place. I do recommend driving away from RSM for better choices in food.
(1)Chris H.
Went there for my wedding anniversary and had an excellent meal. Service was the best! Tiffany did a fantastic job. On the pricier side but definitely worth it for me.
(5)Lindsay M.
went here for my 3 yr anniversary. I am gluten free, so having options is great! Our waitress even said that they can make a lot of dishes gluten free. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. I didn't get a snobby feel, but yet I still felt like I was at a very nice, upscale, not your typical dining out place. The deviled eggs are FANTASTIC. My steak was cooked perfectly (I got the filet) and my boyfriend's short ribs he said were the best he'd ever had. There is no corkage fee, so that's a huge bonus. I will be back!!
(5)Julie E.
I have been here three times and each time I leave I think that this place is overpriced and that the food is average. The service is stellar and the ambiance is nice. I just think that this place is overrated due to it being one of the only fine dining restaurants in the area. I'm always disappointed. The last time I went I had the chicken with the Mac and cheese. I was not a fan of the Mac and cheese and the chicken was bland.
(3)Balpreet T.
This place is amazing. The service was above and beyond expected and the food was also fantastic. Nothing but great things to say about this restaurant and the owner.
(5)David H.
Fantastic service and unbelievable food. We both had filets and shared a couple of sides, we will be back! The waiting staff was on top of everything and made recommendations that complemented our tastes. Make a reservation and enjoy this place!

I took Aunt Mary here for her 86th Birthday this week and WOW - my socks were blown off! Well done Hanna's. 1st off - I'm not clear who would consider the serves snobby (other Yelp Reviews). Jaci was our server and she was fabulous. Helpful but not hovering. The restaurant had a nice ambiance with a great view of the open kitchen. We started the night with 2 fabulous martini's and the bruchette. Yes... Aunt Mary loved her Cucumber Crush and my 3 Hour Tour hit the spot. Both were perfectly chilled. The bruchette was with wonderful fresh tomatoes and a bacon surprise. Yummy. But know it is a large appetizer. Aunt Mary took the extra home. Jaci made a great salad recommendation and we split the Not So Proper House salad. It had beautiful fresh strawberry's, raspberry and candied pecans. Just the right size to share. We then shared the 10 oz filet with a side of jalapeno potato au gratin. Filet was prefect med rare+ and the potatoes were piping hot and crispy on top. Great flavors. For dessert we followed the recommendation of many other yelpers and had the warm butter cake. Let me say it was amazing! Aunt Mary had such an amazing time. I know she loves me... but thank you to Hanna's great service and amazing food she had a very memorable evening! We are not looking at one of Hanna's private rooms for Aunt Mary and Uncle Wally's 67th wedding anniversary!!!
(5)Dornaz D.
Has really good food. Has really fun employees who are happy and fun. Great food! Their food is a little pricey but otherwise, totally worth it!
(5)Samantha B.
The service here is on point - at no point did my wine or water glass run dry! The waitresses attending to our party made sure to check in regularly & make sure we were happy with our beverages, salads, & entrees. This was my first time here - and I will definitely be returning. I tried The Proper Salad - to die for. The goat cheese just adds a little rich creaminess to the whole dish. I could eat that everyday. As for the salmon with risotto - I cleared the plate - it was fresh, rich, & the fish was cooked very well. Not too dry - it had the perfect flakiness one would hope for! You can tell it's a popular place from the amount of guests to the business of the kitchen & the pleasant noise of conversation & people enjoying themselves. I can't wait to try something new on their menu next time!
(5)Annie C.
Had dinner on Sunday evening. Everything was great! Super friendly service and delicious food. My fiancé is usually very critical when it comes to food, but he said their steak is one of the best he's tried. The great experience was worth the price. We will be back for sure.
(5)Britney I.
My husband and I come here very often. We always have a good experience and the staff is always super attentive. PROS: Open late Good food Great service Cozy ambiance Nice decor CONS: Late night crowd can get pretty rowdy/sloppy/annoying Menu is pretty boring (wish they changed it up more) Wine list is so-so (I always bring my own bottle but at least there's no corkage fee) Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious but the flavors are all the same. I would love to see more bold flavors We will continue to come back but we are getting bored with the menu. (We have been going to Natraj's Indian Bistro across the street to get better flavors)

Dinner was awesome!!! My wife had the salmon it was perfect. I had the filet, amazing. It was our birthday, Rachel our server made the night super special. She is one of the best servers I/we have ever had.
(5)Shannon G.
I really liked this place. The house salad is huge and has candied walnuts. It could totally be a meal. The ahi salad was one of the best salads I have ever had. The cocktails were alright not the best ever. Would come back for sure.

My husband took me out to dinner here Saturday night. The service was wonderful and the filet I ordered was extremely tender. However, my husband and I were both disappointed with the steak sauces. We tried three different sauces and they all tasted the exact same - salty and bland. Hanna's is pricey but the food and service is above average :-) My husband and I were surprised how the restaurant emptied out by 8:00 ish- but Hanna's is located in a suburbia area. We will be back :-)

Who would have thought RSM would be the place of a top quality high end restaurant? Not me, but Hanna's will blow you away and make you think the restaurant is in Newport or even LA (the crowd not so much but it was a great scene for RSM). The service is excellent and started off with the hostess opening the double doors for us. This small but important detail really sets a great first impression. All to often the hostess at some restaurants are too cool for school. Not at Hanna's. Hats off to the owners / trainers for teaching the importance of customer service. They will open both doors for you on your departure as well. There is a extensive wine selection and the risotto was delicious as was the prime rib sandwich. We sat at the bar and the service was friendly and of average speed. Thank you Hanna's for being in our backyard!

Simply the best place to eat in Rancho Santa Margarita! Amazing food, atmosphere and especially the staff!
(5)Erika S.
Went back and had a completely different experience! This time we were seated in the back wine room which has a lot more space and way less hectic. We tried the exact same food as last time and the food was great. It's still crowded and takes a whole for a table, but the service was food was great!
(4)Brad M.
The service was excellent. This is our 2nd time. Our waitress was Jaime and she is as good as it gets. She is a waitress that exceeds expectations. The food was really good. I had the ribeye and my wife has the petite filet for dinner. Cooked exactly like we wanted it. Although excellent I prefer the bone in ribeye larger than 16 oz. We had artichoke for appetizer and deviled eggs. Artichoke was perfecto. The deviled eggs weren't for us. First of all they were HUGE. Six of them so plan accordingly but they just weren't anything special. And for drinks we had Mai tai. They were good. Overall great atmosphere. Nice people. Superb service. Great food. Well worth the visit.

The service at Hanna's definitely stood out. Their steaks were a bit pricey for the quality but it was a nice place to go with the family for good food and relaxing environment.

Great food and great drinks. I need better deserts. This place has almost everything together. It's time to have a desert chef. Soufflé especially grand marnier
(5)Peter T.
Have gone to Hanna's for years and always have a great experience. Picked up dinner to go last night for our anniversary since we have a new born and couldn't go out. All four courses were fantastic and they packed and cooked everything so that it would be perfect when heated at home. Definitely appreciated the extra effort and attention to make it a special night. Wonderful restaurant that takes care of you like a regular, even if you aren't one.

For Rancho Santa Margarita, this restaurant is good. Unfortunately, this place is disappointing compared to Mastros. Service: Firstly, there is no waiting area at the front of the restaurant. My husband and I had to stand by the door, next to a computer station. Several other guests thought I worked there (I was wearing all black, so not their fault). Eventually, it got a annoying, so I asked if there was another place to wait. Only after then were we offered to wait in a small area off to the side (the area was empty; we thought it was reserved). A host stated we can order drinks there while we wait. I feel like this should have been immediately offered to the many guests crowded at the front door... While in this room, neither a server nor a bartender approached us. I had to get up and ask a host to give us a drink menu, which is actually a tablet; the tablet wasn't working. Still no one approached us to get our drink order. Once seated, our server was very polite. Nevertheless, for reasons I don't understand, we weren't given bread. Not that this is necessary, but every table around us received bread before their apps... Food: Calamari appetizer was tasteful, but the consistency was that of a fish stick; it was very dense. The peppers and two sauces served with it were delicious. My husband and I ordered the ribeye and filet mignon, respectively. Both were cooked to perfection. My husband loved the peppercorn sauce and grilled onions on his ribeye. My filet was bare, but perfectly seasoned, making any sauces/toppings unnecessary. I ordered brocollini as a side; however, garlic mashed potatoes were served in its place. Our server promptly corrected the mistake. I did taste the mashed potatoes; they were disappointing... it reminded me of cafeteria mashed potatoes. Thankfully, the brocollini was amazing. Bill: Our dinner was approx. $150 (included were 2 glasses of wine). My husband is an active Marine so we were given a 10% discount. Obviously a plus... the only negative about this is that Mastros offers at least a 25% discount - crazy, I know! (Mastros' military discount has varied by server - we have been offered 25 - 40% every time we've gone there). All in all, this place is good if you want a nice, somewhat upscale date night nearby. I'm sad to say, though, that I would never, in my wildest dreams, choose Hannas over Mastros. (I would like to quickly add that when making a reservation by telephone, the owner and/or manager - Mr. Hanna himself - was extremely courteous.)

Perfect 100th birthday celebration. Great food, service and 100th birthday balloons. Don't even think about going elsewhere for that very special occasion.
(5)Tracey K.
The food was well made and the service was great! We sat in the wine cellar and it was nice and quiet- in comparison to the bar outside. The clientele is super 'OC house wives'. I would come back for the food and service.
(5)Peter L.
Michael has to be the best servers at Hanna's, he is ALWAYS on top of service for the table. I perfer to sit at his tables.
(5)Kelly D.
This place was incredible. Came to Hanna's for date night with my boyfriend and couldn't have been happier with the food and the service! -Food- Let's start off with drinks! My boyfriend, being 21, ordered a Pinot noir from the ENORMOUS wine and cocktail list. Someone at the table next to us ordered a pineapple mojito that looked delicious. I, still being 20, just ordered a coke. When it was time for a refill, a kind waiter rushed over with a carafe of coke! I've never experienced that before, but I liked it very much. Entrées! We didn't order any appetizers here, but the options on the menu looked great. I ordered a 6 oz. filet mignon with a bleu cheese crumble add on with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. So delicious! The potatoes were so creamy and the steak was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered a skirt steak with a bleu cheese crumble add on with garlic mashed potatoes and a bourbon peppercorn steak sauce on the side. He really enjoyed it, and the bite I had was so good. The meal was a little pricey, but very much worth it! -Service- From the second we arrived, hostesses were holding open the doors to welcome us. We had made a reservation and were seated almost immediately. Our waitress was so helpful and nice. We both thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Hanna's!
(5)Paul V.
This one of my favorite restaurants in OC. They have excellent cocktails and the food is gourmet. Whether you want steak or seafood this place has just the right plate for you. Also the appetizers are incredible. If you have tried Hannah's yet then your missing out.
(5)Ju P.
Just had dinner here for fiancé 32nd bday. Made a 7:30 pm reservation and was seated in 5 mins. Bread and butter has okay nothing special. We order the ahi poke tower and it was AMAZING!!! Fiancé had the 8 oz filet mignon with mash potatoes, and I had the wild pacific seabass. The seabass was OUTSTANDING! The filet was good, but Houston filet was better, and the mash potatoes was plain. Highlight was the butter cake.
(4)Mike M.
The food and service was excellent. My manhattan was perfect. We had tacos, burgers and the salmon salad for lunch. The salmon taco was very flavorful. The burgers were fantastic and reminded me about the hamburgers at the Playground in Santa Ana. The salad was very fresh and delicious. The setting is casually elegant. You can be seated outside or inside. This is the best upscale restaurant in Rancho Santa Margarita and may be in the top ten in south Orange County. I will be back!
(5)Jason S.
I have been to Hannah's four times now, and while the food is good considering the local competition, the service leaves much to be desired. It is difficult to explain the ambience of Hannah's. Is it a sports bar? Is it a high-end steakhouse with prices to match? Why is there nowhere to wait inside the restaurant if your reserved table is not ready when you arrive while it is raining outside? There is a large table literally right in front of the hostess' station. I'd hate to be seated there for dinner! The drink menu is needlessly served up on an iPad. If Hannah's had an extensive list of items this would be a practical option. As it is implemented, it feels clumsy and pretentious. All of the options could easily be presented on a single piece of paper. Speaking of drinks, it often takes an inexcusably long time to get a drink from the bar. We consistently wait 10-15 minutes after each drink order before our drinks arrive. On our last visit where we sat at the bar/"chef's counter", the couple next to us went through two rounds before we received our first. The manager on duty made sure to keep their glasses full (perhaps they were friends) while we sat right next to them conspicuously waiting ages for our drinks. Shockingly, our server joked about this during our meal and even offered to take a drink order for the next round just as she was dropping off the one we waited 15 minutes for, so that we wouldn't have to wait as long! I would expect a competent server to address the problem with the bar herself instead of expecting the guests to accommodate the poor service. Meanwhile the couple next to us now has a bottle of wine next to their 4th round of cocktails and the manager is having a great time. The steak prices rival those of Ruth's Chris and Mastro's, and while they are delicious, they do not achieve the same level of quality as one might find at either of those establishments. This goes for much of Hannah's food- often delicious, sometimes great, but overpriced given the competition. Our server ended the night by accidentally swiping my credit card for another guest's $240 dinner in addition to my own. When we returned to the restaurant she claimed she did so on accident and immediately fixed it but neglected to let us know. The bartender/manager told me it should come off in "5 days or so". Thanks guys. Real pro operation you have here. For better or worse, it is the best steak RSM has and in that sense it is your best bet if you don't want to venture out of that small pocket of south OC and don't mind mediocre service.
(2)Mark N.
I went to Hanna's for dinner and had the barrel-cut filet mignon. Everything including the sides were very well presented and prepared. The service was very good. We sat in the private dining area, which made the experience better. Hanna's tries to be the RSM answer to Maestros. In that regard, it does not quite succeed but does provide plenty of "Real Housewives" viewing opportunities.
(4)Nathan C.
Phenomenal service, great food, and warm ambiance. It was our anniversary and no less than 4 people told us happy anniversary and we were greeted with complimentary champagne and dessert. They really know how to take care of you here. We will definitely be back.
(5)David C.
Hanna's is one of our favorite places in Rancho Santa Margarita. They have great steaks, salads and phenomenal appetizers. Today we ordered the calamari, the filet mignon and the butter cake for desert. Everything was very good! Our server Maggie was awesome too!
(5)Amy D.
Wow! Out of the gate I have to say I am blown away by the service! Every person says hello, how are you or acknowledges you. Walking by the "line" near the kitchen to be seated and every server or runner turned to welcome us. Incredible. Then the best part is there is no corkage fee for your first two bottles of wine. Fantastic! I went for a fun girls night and we decided to share appetizers. We started with the baked Brie and it seriously was so good I would get that as dessert in the future! Next we had the ahi tower which was my favorite. A must have! In addition we had lobster spring rolls which had very good dipping sauces, brussel sprouts although a tiny overdone losing their flavor, a fabulous chicken salad. Additionally we had deviled eggs which my girlfriends devoured and loved. I am just not into eggs. We had ALL of this and two bottles of wine (we brought) and our total was $102! Holy smokes... Great people, nice ambiance, exceptionally delicious food and that is all? I doubled the tip! Thank you Hannah's! Okay had to add to this... been three times since the first visit and had the filet with blue cheese on top each time because it's THAT GOOD. HOLY SMOKES it is SO good. Did I already say that? ha! YUMMY!! I REALLY love this place. Such a refreshing spot. All four times the service could not have been any better. You feel your business is truly appreciated. I have to note my boyfriend had the flatbread pizza and said it was the best he ever had. Not surprised. Everything is so good.
(5)Jeff T.
I came here based on a strong endorsement of a friend and I was not let down. I typically go out for a high quality steak (Ruth's Chris, Morton's, Fleming's, SW, etc.) no more than once a year and I was told that Hanna's steak was comparable. I ordered the 10oz filet mignon and it was fantastic and certainly worth the $42 I paid for it. It was definitely on par with the other steakhouses I've gone to. The yam fries were delicious and better than most I've eaten elsewhere and the butter cake dessert was excellent. The service was very good. Overall it was a great experience.
(5)Spring G.
The food and service were great, but My boyfriend and I got food poisoning. It has been a week and my stomach still isn't right. I will never eat there again. We ordered the rib eye with broccolini and the potatoes au gratin.
(1)John A.
Ahi stack appetizer was very good (despite a rice cake that played no role), the filet was seared to a perfect "Pittsburg plus", the jalapeno scalloped potatoes and cauliflower with goat cheese were both delicious and the wine selection was very good as well. Desert was Chocolate Midnight cake that tasted house-made. Alicia was our server and she was friendly, interested in providing a great experience, professional and quick. If I could give 4.5 stars I would just because the bread and the decor/atmosphere at Mastro's is a bit better and there is no waiting area or valet but this is definitely an upscale steakhouse with delicious food and great service. Top notch!
(5)Richard J.
Had another great evening at Hanna's, the food was great and as always the staff was very accommodating with great friendly service.
(5)Diane C.
By far the best restaurant in Rancho Santa margarita. The food is superior, the staff is well trained, and the atmosphere is quaint. Just ate in the wine room...what a treat. Be sure to get their birthday cake desert yummy and decadent! For all you wine lovers they have it covered.
(5)Julie P.
If you can replicate my meal, you'll be in Heaven! Sitting at the bar in front of the chefs, and shared a bottle of the 2003 reserve Hanna Cabernet - spectacular! Loved the Modern Caesar salad and the sourdough roll.. But the pork chop was the best I've ever had! Outstanding meal ( and they squeezed us in without a reservation!)
(5)Abby S.
I had the pleasure of planning and attending our company holiday party at Hanna's, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. I began planning our holiday party in October, thinking there was going to be a lot of thing to take care of on my end. I was contacted by the owner, and was surprised that there was little to no planning that was actually needed on my end. He took care of everything! The day of the party was spectacular! We started out with appetizers and cocktails inside their private dining room "The DaVino Room". The tables were set up beautifully, and waitstaff was standing by to start serving us. We chose the Deviled Eggs, Steak House Sliders, and Juan's Tacos - All were delicious, warm, and BIG! From there we seamlessly moved into dinner service, where are AWESOME servers Kevin and Wyatt started with taking our orders, and providing us with some of the best service I have ever personally received. I was able to enjoy the Skuna Bay Salmon, and my boyfriend indulged in the Filet. Normally I am NOT a fan of Salmon, but this dish changed my mind! The flavors were excellently balanced, and the portion was generous. We ended the night with the Warm Butter Cake, and i overheard my boss tell his table that it was the best desert he had ever had! That is coming from a guy who travels 90 percent of the year, and has eaten in some of the finest restaurants around the world. All of my coworker's left the party with a smile on their face, and full stomach's. Kevin and Wyatt did an amazing job with this party from start to finish. I was personally impressed with their demeanor, knowledge of food and service, and their discreteness with service during speeches and the handling of the bill. I have worked as a wedding coordinator for one of Orange County's premier catering and event venues for the past 5 years, and I would be honored to have them on my staff. I will most certainly be back to Hanna's in the future, because of the service, food, and ambiance.
(5)Eric J.
Our favorite place for dinner or dessert. Always great , excellent food, and always busy. A sign of a good restaurant. We have never had a bad meal here. Wyatt, our waiter, remembers us each time. You gotta have the Butter Cake for dessert. So decadent.
(5)Robert H.
Hannas is the best. Dave has assembled a great staff serving world class steaks No corkage charge allows us to bring our favorite wines and really enjoy their paring with a fine steak. For lunch there is always the 5.00 burger ... a RSM favorite
(5)Adrian K.
Love coming in to Hannas after a late night at work. Even though Hannas is open late, the servers, hostesses, etc. always act as if they just started their shift. Food is consistently good, but the restaurant as a whole is overrated in my honest opinion. It's as if the residents of RSM have never stepped foot outside this tiny town... Don't forget to check out the free late night entertainment given by the local "classy drunks" that appear after 10PM. Will continue to dine at a Hannas in the future.
(4)Nikki Patnoe P.
Hanna's is becoming one of my favorite local places to dine. Service is always above average. Reservations are needed and they honor the timeline very well. Birthday celebration and the Bruschetta Noveau was so good I could go back tonight just for that! The Seabass with Gnocchi melted in our mouths. Butter cake was good as always
(5)Brandon B.
Loved this place! Went on a Wed. and it was half price wine night for most wines by the glass. Great filet and really good selection of sauces for your steak that are included as is your side dish.
(4)Gary M.
Excellent all around. The food was wonderful. I had the Skuna Bay Salmon with Risotto. The Salmon was done perfectly and the way they crisped the outside of the risotto was unique and tasty. The Jalapeno au gratin potatoes are great. The service was excellent. They train their staff well.
(5)Kayla A.
This place is good but that being said there are not many options in this area. The steak always seems to come out rare no matter how you order it but other than that critique it's pretty good food. Pricey if your of a younger age. The crowd here is usually older with money. Not much of a "young" hip spot to hang out at. They do have really good drinks and great service! Id come here for a quick drink before seeing a movie. Make a reservation, it gets crowded on the weekends.
(4)Jessica L.
My colleagues and I come here for business lunches and dinners and always have a delicious meal. Everything I've tried is delicious, but I'm quite partial to their steak salad. They have a great wine list, some good beers, and delicious butter cake for dessert. The service is always good, and our colleagues from out of town always enjoy themselves.
(5)Connie J.
Great place! Friends of ours who come here often kept telling us to eat here so we finally did. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was great, and our waitress was fun, knowledgeable and very attentive. We never had to fill our water or wine and she made great recommendations from the wine to the food. She even brought us a little warm butter cake for dessert since we were first time guests. Overall the whole experience was memorable and we will definitely be back soon! Our friends say all the staff is great but I think we will ask for Alicia again!
(5)Geoff S.
This is a great restaurant. Both the lunch menu and dinner menu have a lot of food to choose from. The Angus hamburger I've gotten has been perfect. The side order of fries were great too. Service here is excellent. They promptly refill the drinks. They serve the food fast, but not too fast. This place isn't cheap but it's not too expensive either. It's well worth the price.
(5)Richard H.
My wife and I went there for our anniversary recently. Service was great but food was mediocre compared to the pricing. The ahi tower was exceptional but the bone in ribeye was so-so.
(3)Monica N.
Hanna's is ideal for those who know very little about food. After several visits with poorly cooked, ill conceived dishes, we've given up. Overpriced and poor to mediocre.
(1)D S.
Hanna's is our favorite restaurant in South OC! Steaks are always great, and the salmon is outstanding. Last but definitely not least, the signature dessert is to die for.
(5)John W.
Hadn't been to Hanna's since 2012-ish. The place is super busy on the weekends so either reserve early or show up expecting to wait. Most people review food - which was all in all, outstanding - but I'd like to complement the staff, chef's, and the owner on their extraordinary service levels. On the night we dropped by, there was a 2 hour wait for a table, but the owner cleared a spot on the bar for us within moments, notably also - without us asking for any special treatment. The wait staff was never distracted, given their service load for the evening. I had started a Caesar Salad and remarked quietly to my wife that "it could use just a bit more parmesan", a passing waiter overheard me (a superhuman feat in itself given the noise) and immediately brought over a small cup full to enjoy. Water glasses were re-filled without notice. The meal was served swiftly, small plates were removed promptly, and gracious smiles from everyone were freely given at all times. Anyone who's been to the restaurant knows it's pretty hectic there, but to keep their focus on the customer experience, no matter the time pressure and crowding..? Remarkable. Expect to spend some dead presidents, as the grub isn't cheap. High quality food and beverages, prepared and served professionally, is always going to run the tab up a bit. If you're in the area, and thought to call ahead of time for a reservation, be sure to stop in. You'll not be disappointed with the food or the experience.
(5)Sherry G.
I absolutely love this place! The food is incredible! Great wines to choose from and amazing service! I can't wait to have a date night with my hubby so I can enjoy some more of the Hanna cab!
(5)Courtney C.
Oh Hanna's. You seductive Real Housewives of Orange County magnet you. Hanna's has a special place in my heart because I went to high school in RSM so I have been there since it's inception. The owner, Dave, is a family friend and is amazing. Always finds a place for us no matter how crowded it is. Their chef too is unbelievably talented and was hand-picked by Dave. You can't really go wrong with most of the appetizer, dinner, or drink selections here. I usually opt for something off the cocktail menu and the short ribs. If I'm feeling cheese cravings I'll go for the stoned chicken, which is roasted chicken served over mac and cheese. Pretty frickin fantabspacular. It's not the most wallet-friendly dining option, but great for a splurge or celebratory romantic dinner. Also gets crowded. Make a reservation. I'm really pretty serious about that. Unless you're biffles with Dave. Their desserts didn't used to be all that but have really improved since they first opened. Still a bit of a work in progress, although I am admittedly a bit of a baking fiend and thus super picky about desserts.
(4)Norma B.
We have eaten at Hanna's probably 10 times and we have NEVER had a bad meal. Cannot say enough great things about the food, staff, service and management of this wonderful restaurant!
(5)Janelle C.
So delicious! The service is wonderful. Everyone is so friendly. Wine Wednesdays are the best. They get very busy, so make a reservation. They make the BEST cocktails ever! Highly recommended.
(5)Simone W.
Tried this place on 50% off Wine Wednesday's and they definitely had a great selection to choose from by the glass. The food was pretty good as well I had the Beef Stroganov which was very tender and had a very flavorful sauce. Also had a typical mixed field greens salad which you can't really mess up so....I look forward to coming back to try a few more items that caught my eye! They have the following specials: Martini Monday $6.00 House Martinis Tequila Tuesday $6.00 Margaritas Wine Wednesday 50% off all wines by the glass Thirsty Thursday 50% off all Ketel One Vodka drinks Can't wait to go back!
(4)ritesh p.
Good food, perfect service and awesome wine. Vegetarians stay away - everyone else run to it.
(5)Gabriela S.
This is a hidden gem- though crowded a feels more like a pub place- the service is a top notch and the food simply amazing- nice personal touch- the Chef should be proud of putting his own spin on each dish. The baked brie is even better than I make- hands down- and I grew up in EU so have had lots of training. The Beef Stroganoff and their baked chicken with mac & cheese- simply amazing. The waitress (cannot recall her name) was one of the best servers we have had in OC (The Ritz, The Loft and Studio at Montage staff should get lessons from her). Though little out of our way- we will be back!
(5)Norma A.
All I can say is - WOW! The food was outstanding and the service was top-notch as everyone raves about. I am delighted that I was introduced to Hanna's!. A date took me here and he was right that I am going to love this place. Loved everything about it - the food, the service and the ambience. We were seated in the DaVino Room (wine cellar/wine locker area with dining tables) surrounded by different bottles of wine which has a more romantic/intimate vibe as compared to the main dining area. These were what we shared and it was fantastic: heirloom tomato salad with grilled watermelon and burrata cheese, Dave's filet mignon kabobs and the seabass. Everything was made/cooked to perfection! Would definitely be back here again!
(5)Russ E.
The food and drinks are great...although it can be a little loud at times. Have some great drinks on the menu.
(5)Jimmy L.
Taking the wife somewhere for her bday lunch. Found this place online with so many review and one of the item that people rave about is the steak salad, my wife's favorite. Arrived about noon, but the crowd seem awfully light. However the decor of the restaurant is great. Very classy. I ordered the cowboy burger. The beef is nice and juicy. Maybe a bit too saucy to et at business lunch or date. The kids ordered butter noodle and mac and cheese. Mac and cheese is definitely a better choice to go The steak salad did not disappoint. The steak was soft and tender. Cooked just right. My wife clean the whole plate. that shows you how great it is. It is a bit pricy but definitely worth the money.
(4)J C.
Wow, what a difference from my last visit half a decade ago.. Completely remodeled, the place was PACKED, and I was surprised as it was mid-week. I can't think of any other restaurants in south county to undergo such a positive turnaround. Would prefer more choices for bread than just the sourdough, but that's my biggest complaint I can muster up. Bone-in-ribeye was excellent. Buttercake desert is HUGE and yummy. Service was 5 star. Overall, this is a solid choice for good quality steaks. If it's been awhile since your last visit, I'd say it's indistinguishable from my experience 5 years back. edit 5/14 - 4 stars rounding down based on recent visit vs 6months ago. Consistency issue.
(4)Gerry F.
Feeenominal Service! the selection of food was good, and we sat out on the patio, which was quiet. Inside was a little louder with the bar, but fun atmosphere. You get the best of both worlds.
(5)Tom B.
Bone in Filet was outstanding! Best restaurant in RSM. Good food, good service and no corkage fee.
(5)Rick F.
RSM is a pain to get to but golf and good friends draw me there a few times per year. Hanna's offers a cool vibe, good bar crowd and attentive service. Excellent, ice cold Martinis with bleu cheese olives. Bring me one and immediately pour me another. The mood lightens, the neck muscles relax and the smell of prime beef and butter lures me table side. Bone in filet, check. Mac and cheese, ditto. A veggie here a French fry there, do they really matter? Not once the butter cake arrives, a flax golden mound of sweet buttery love wearing a vanilla bean ice cream teddy that says enjoy me before I'm all gone . So dig in, have a strong coffee for the ride home and remember how really good food is easy to love and hard to find.
(5)Cathy S.
This is by far my favorite restaurant in OC. I moved her recently and absolutely love going to Hanna's. I would recommend sitting at the bar that overlooks into the kitchen. Their staff is top notch and the food is fantastic. Enjoy!
(5)Craig L.
Hidden in Town Center way up in RSM, this little gem rivals places in Beverly Hills. They are known for their steaks...and for their superb customer service. Five star treatment by servers, personalized treatment from the owner who is almost always on-site, an amazing wine selection (they have dining also hidden away in a wine room) and a menu comprised of seafood, pastas and of course, steaks. I sampled from my other guests' dishes and here's what I tasted: Stoned Chicken w/gourmet mac and cheese Filet Mignon, 6 oz cut Pork Chop Chilean Sea Bass All of them were superb. Perfectly cooked, stellar seasoning and ample portions. The quality of service, again, was superb. We had called ahead for Baked Alaska and what they served us was simply delicious. They USED to do a stellar Bananas Foster here, but I don't think they do it anymore. The last time we were here, although it wasn't on the menu, they ran next door to Trader Joe's to get the ingredients and made it for us anyway. You do NOT see that anywhere, even in LA. Ask for the more private wine room dining area and make sure everyone orders something different so that you may sample from their many spectacular dishes. As for prices, a bit less than what you'd pay in LA, so it was MORE than reasonable.
(5)Sarah M.
I heart Hanna's in a major way. The service is some of the best I've ever experienced; never have we had a bad experience here. The food and cocktails are both great. I can't think of one negative thing to say about Hanna's...other than the fact that it's not in my budget to eat there nightly. Oh and it's not open on my birthday (New Years), that's a bummer, but I can't fault them for that.
(5)Christina H.
We were greeted by amazing hostesses, were seated right away, the server was extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions on the best plates, and yummy food. Overall, really great experience, professional service, wonderful ambiance and music. Love it! Our new favorite spot in RSM!
(5)Ruth B.
First class all the way. Service is excellent every time I come here. Food is delicious. Best date night restaurant in town. Love it!

We had a great 20mins, and I say that because my son wasn't feeling well and it forced us to leave.. I did have a taste of the 'deviled eggs' they're delish! Our server was very Understanding given the circumstances. She was nice enough to give us a $15 gift card to ensure we would return again. I can't wait to go back and have our steaks! Great service, beautiful restaurant and appealing selections. We will return.

Went for lunch and had the deviled eggs to start off and they were delicious, then had the tuna with fries, wow! Everything was fresh and flavorful:) the staff goes over and above :)

Great food and drinks. The staff is extremely accommodating. I've gone here for my birthday the past two years!

I had the occasion to take my wife and her mother to dinner tonight. My wife, Kari, requested Hanna's. I was elated as it is not only one of our favorite restaurants, but unquestionably one of the finest in Orange County. Fortunately, you don't have to take my word for it - food critics from every corner agree - Hanna's is clearly a five star dining delight. We were seated in the new, smartly appointed Wine Room. It's ideal for wine lovers and those desiring something unique and sophisticated, yet relaxed and unpretentious. After being seated, much to our surprise, we discovered that the night we chose to dine with Hanna's was "Wine Wednesdays" - every glass of wine was 50% off. Makes one want to get out more often midweek... Hanna's has undeniably one of the most extensive wine lists I've ever seen. What makes the selection process a joy, however, is that not only will the owner, David, help you best define what you're looking for, he'll leave you with an iPad where you can stroll the vineyards of the world until you find what didn't know you were craving. The ladies chose a lovely Sauvignon Blanc with a tinge of grapefruit. I selected my fave; a Malbec. Just in case you've not enjoyed a glass of Malbec before, it's a deep ruby-purple color, is well balanced, with exquisite aromas of black berries, ripe plum and "robust" spices. My selection had a hint of wood smoke and coffee. Unusual but savory, and a perfect choice for fall. With wine poured and the restaurant bustling, we began the challenging ordeal of mulling over Hanna's capacious menu. The first thing we noticed was a new fall bill of fare. Hanna's is already one of those places where you want to order one of everything you see, but this new fall menu made the choosing even more excruciatingly pleasant then ever. For our salad we could not resist the Not So Proper House. It's a delectable mixture of whole leaf santa maria, goat cheese, candied pecans, local strawberries and raspberries, with white balsamic vinaigrette. It has become one for my favorite salads of all time. If you're light eater, you may want to consider either splitting or ordering half. Because the service at Hanna's slightly eclipses their food, if you need something special, they are genuinely delighted to make it happen. As to our salads, we enjoyed every morsel. Unfortunately, we didn't leave much room for diner - or so we thought. While the ladies were tempted by the Salmon and Wild Pacific Seabass, I could not keep my eyes off the delectable pork chop served earlier at the next table. I am sorry I did not write down the specifics of Hanna's new seasonal Pork Chop but, suffice it to say, it was a liberal portion and ever so scrumptious. The presentation alone was enough to satisfy me. As full as I was from my salad, I somehow found room to relish every bite. Even my wife and mother-in-law smiled heartily before their empty plates. After paying our bill and saying goodnight to the staff, who always feel more like friends, Kari's mother and I walked arm in arm along the walkway. As we strolled, she thanked me for an extraordinary evening, then stopped to tell me how much she missed her recently passed husband of 65 years (Kari's father). Then with a wistful look of longing, she said to me in a soft voice, "He would have really enjoyed tonight..." I tell you folks, it doesn't get much better than that. I am already looking forward to out next dining experience at Hanna's.

Excellent food and service. Highly recommended. Try the skirt steak and potatoes au graten. Delicious! My new local steak place - I will be back.

So for years, Hanna's has ALWAYS had our vote for a 5 star experience with the BEST food, service, wine, martini's... and just over all experience. Shame on me for taking this long to write how absolutely "wonderful" they are!! Dave Hanna always makes sure he's hands on with taking care of your every need, coming over to introduce himself, and even greeting his regular patrons with a warm hello & a friendly chat. But today... well today tops the cake!! On this gloomy (chilly for California weather) run of the mill Monday, I'm craving their ridiculously AMAZING "Filet Mignon Chili" - which they only serve on Thursday's. I took my chance by calling at almost the close of their lunch service & to my surprise, Dave Hanna answered. He not only remembered my husband & I... but when I asked if by any chance they had that chili today, he said "give me a second & I'll go talk to my chef." He quickly came back on the line and replied "when would you like to pick it up, we're making it up special for you two." WHHHHAAAT?? Umm, you tell ME when & my husband is on his way! :) When Dave heard I hadn't been feeling good for quite a while & said he missed seeing us, he just MADE MY DAY!!! Oh & don't ever forget to order their delicious homemade bread!! Although chances are, on a to-go order, you'll find it beautifully wrapped with your meal, even without asking. *** [Btw, all of the servers are phenomenal & well trained... but I have to give a shout out to our favorites - Stephanie (my love) & Austin! Can't wait to see you soon!!!!]

Hanna's is great! Best place to come for drinks and just to hang out. It can get very loud at night. It's a very busy place so if you are looking for a nice quiet intimate meal, you'd better come right when they open. The staff is amazing, I'm pretty sure I've never actually opened the front door, someone is always there when you enter and when you leave. They are fast with drinks and appetizers and quick with the bill when you request it. Their food is really good. I've liked everything we've ordered and we've been here 10+ times. The decor is wonderful, very clean, very inviting. Service is amazing, bartenders are really nice and helpful. They also have some great happy hour specials!! I'd also definitely recommend reservations if you are planning a weekend evening out.

Went here with the Mrs as a last meal before the holiday craziness. What a great stop and incredible find. Hanna's is a welcome respite from the gasto-wasteland known as Mission Viejo/RSM/Ladera ranch. I had the pork chop and my wife had the beef wellington. They were both unexpectedly wonderful. One big plus is the wine glass that holds an entire bottle of wine - complete with a demonstration by our wonderful waitress, Hilary. Turns out they sell them...so we bought 6. Dave came out to see how everything was. It was great to see an owner so invested in the success of his property. We will come back again and again.

Terrible service. We came in early around 5 pm on a Saturday and were rudely asked if we had a reservation and after we said no they looked at us like it was a problem.. The restaurant had one table occupied and the rest were completely empty. We sat there for 20 minutes with no server in sight so we walked out. Never again.

This place is always amazing, great service and fantastic menu. From the hostess, server, bus boy ,and even the owners, they are always making sure they are doing everything possible to make your experience the best it can be! Drinks are awesome and food is always fabulous. It a rarity to have both a friendly staff and good food, it's hard to find in south county. I have only yelped 3 times in 5 years and unfortunately all 3 were bad reviews. So I decided to make my 4th review about a place that actually cares what their patrons think! Hanna's is never a disappointing and always a 5 star experience! Thank you for keeping your restaurant up to the standards people expect when you go out to eat or cocktails. I gave of BLK burger in Ladera Ranch my first yelp review in 2 years (terrible restaurant by the way, and someone associated with the restaurant actually emailed me profanities and a gross reply all for nice and honest review I gave) if you are a resident of Ladera,RSM, Trabuco Canyon, or close to this area, go to Hanna! You will not be disappointed! P.S. BLK of Ladera Ranch, you might as well starting packing up your plastic plants up from your patio now and leave, or go to Hanna's to see how a real restaurant is run!

Hanna's is an awesome spot to have in RSM, a city where there isn't too much hip going on. Great ownership, top notch chefs and a really fun atmosphere to hang out in. The food is always delicious and portions are actually rather large! If you are thinking about getting a salad, you might want to find a friend to share...or have it as an entree! I also really like their seafood options, can't go wrong with any of the fish dishes. Of course, you really should be looking at the steaks...it's kind of their thing...which they do well! Wine selection is excellent, really cool iPad wine menus make it easy to flip through all the options. Any place that carries Fracis Ford is a friend of mine. Not the cheapest dinner out, but you get what you paid for in this case.
(5)Robert S.
I've tried to like this place for too long. I feel the need to explain to my fellow yelpers what my experience has been. The first time was dinner. I had a wedge salad and a prime filet. The salad was a caesar. Soggy romaine lettuce and frankly it seems as if they made this salad during lunch. It wasn't bad but for 15$ I expected more. The filet was burnt on the outside. Very under seasoned. The second was for lunch with my wife. I ordered the prime steak salad. Again this felt pre made and soggy. Not bad but for 22$ not up to par. And today I had lunch. The filet again was burnt and for the price 31$ it was. I followed that with a shrimp cocktail 21$ that was warm and tough as rubber. The two stars are for the bartender who is a true gentleman and a great bartender. I heard him ask the line cooks several times about my order. These line cooks, by the way, are really bad.
(2)Sandy P.
I would give this ten stars if I could. I've eaten here before but my dinner last night prompts me to rave about this place. From the wine to house baked sourdough roll and filet kabobs to the short rib dinner, everything was top notch! The warm butter cake does not disappoint. Rib eye was huge. Easily spend $200 on dinner for two if you go all out but it's worth it. So delicious I want to repeat this experience. I saw a couple getting burgers and lower priced items and everything looked amazing. A good selection in different price ranges. A total winner in my book and reminded me that I need to eat here more often!
(5)Kimberly F.
Wow! This place exceeded our expectations. The food was amazing but Deanna and Kevin made the experience unforgettable. They were knowledgable and passionate about the menu and you could tell they loved what they were doing. Back to the food, best shrimp cocktail and filet mignon. Can't wait to go back!
(5)Margaret N.
Great food and service! We both ordered the seabass, risotto with prociutto wrapped with green beans. I substituted mushrooms for the risotto, they were incredibly delicious!. Seabass cooked to perfection, delicate, tender and melts in your mouth. Congratulations to the chef. Of course meals accompanied by wine. Great Friday night dinner. Place was packed and vibrant..
(5)Anamarie T.
WELL, I don't get too many "date nights" so I most likely wouldn't come back. I asked for my steak to be "medium rare", but I got mostly well done and some medium. Not that great when I paid $50.00 for the steak!! A little noisy for me, but the bar seemed to be a great gathering place for friends! The customer service was great! Our waitress was on the ball with everything we needed.
(2)Lida K.
Service was slow, non-steak foods had off temperatures, but the steaks are seriously awesome. The steaks are definitely going to be the best in the area and the sauces were quite delish. What I can't stand is overcooked risotto and fish. I could hear Gordon Ramsey scream in my mind "TASTE IT TASTE IT TASTE IT!!!! IT'S LIKE MUSH!" Even mushy, the flavors will still there. The fish was rubbery but it was obviously very fresh -- no smell and good firmness. I just wish that there was a wait that would have passed by so we could've talked to them about . Service was just inexcusable in the end. It was a struggle to get our drinks, food was late, nobody checked up on us until the end, and even getting the check was a hassle. Was it good? Yes. Will I come back? Probably, but only for the steaks. A-OK is definitely the best way to describe it.
(3)Michael M.
My wife and I have been to this place twice now over the last 6 months. It is unlikely we will go again. We have experienced medicore food and mediocre service both times. It happens. If this is the best restaurant in the RSM/Coto de Caza area, then the people near here should raise their expectations. There are so many good reataurants in Orange County that are hard to get back to any one of them more than twice a year, that this one doesn't deserve a return visit at this time. Thanks, but no thanks.
(2)Steve L.
Really good food, excellent service. A little pricey. But great for a special night. Went there last night. Rolls were yummy. Drinks strong and host awesome-
(5)Aubrey J.
Great food, not too hard to get a table and service has always been on point as well. The first time my wife and I ate here I called to see if I could get a reservation. The owner answered and he was super super nice. Got us a table at the time we wanted and everything. We both had filets and they were stellar. The "mashers" were everything you could ask for. I had a Moscow Mule as well and it was LEGIT. Great wine selection and the deserts look awesome too, although I've never been able to do it. The truffle mac is also really awesome. If you haven't been to Hanna's yet - go. :)
(5)Alma P.
So I have to caveat the 3 star review by staying that service is really a 4-5 star. The staff here is super friendly, attentive and very accomodating. However, the food is rather average.. and IMHO a bit overpriced. I soo wanted to love the food cuz everything else here felt so great but unfortunately, it was just okay. As an example of how I feel they are overpriced, they charge the same price ($48) for a bone-in ribeye as Mastros Steakhouse but there is no comparison. The beef at Mastro's is dry aged and melt in your mouth fantastic while the steak here was okay but by no means as decadent as a steak from Mastro's, Morton's or someplace of that caliber. I also found the sides to be just okay.. the mac and cheese was very forgettable and the asparagus was HUGE but lacked flavor and seasoning. Other good points though.. no corkage which is a huge plus. Location is convenient and restaurant has a nice comfy feeling to it. All in all, I think I'd go back for happy hour or one of their special theme nights but don't think I'd do full dinnner here again unfortunately.
(3)John R.
Our waitress was terrific. She was attentive but never hovered. She was informative and genuine. The food was very good if not a little bit on the expensive side. The restaurant was extremely noisy though and the tables were not laid out so that there was room to pass around each table without bumping someone who is dining. Very annoying. Overall, an above average experience.
(4)Robert M.
so the food here is great, this place is a "scene" in rsm, its best if you make reservations especially on friday and saturday, we have come here a few times and it takes a few times to realize that this should be your special occasion place because it gets expensive fast. don't be scared to order things that you wouldn't normally order because no matter what you get it will be good, they have a good selection of cocktails and wine too, just be prepared for the check at the end. best entree - STEAK best drink - moscow mule best app - brie cheese with the pear spread best desert - pick one they are all good I've heard the deviled eggs are good too, dress to impress when you come here, the ambiance definitely makes you feel like you are in a high class joint. try not to get stuck at the bar if you are going for dinner and its your first time, you will miss out on a lot of the experience, i would go here for just drinks too , remember , the coto crowd comes here. so if you dont like swank, stay away, but if swank is your thing, this is your spot
(4)Lacey C.
WOW. My boss recommended this place. She's always on point with her reco's so I did not hesitate when she told me about this gem. If you have the money to spend on a nice dinner, come here. It's pricey but definitely worth the money. Service is perfect, food, ambiance is perfect!!!! Can't beat a no corkage fee either. Really cuts down the cost when you're able to bring your own wine.
(5)Bob A.
Dave the bartender - YES. Wine Wed - YES. Outside Patio with couches where you can smoke - YES Chill atmosphere - YES Great food - YES

Hannah's continues to please, each and every visit. Good service, generous drinks, and the food is always good, sometimes great! I can say that I've never had a bad experience here and that's why I keep coming bank. Some friends have given me mixed reviews on their service and consistency in food, but I've always had a good experience. One of my favorite places in South County.

After the big fiasco more than 2.5 years ago, hubby finally convinced me to give Hanna's another shot. After all, we used to eat here A LOT. So... we did a couple of happy hours at the bar and were happy enough with the service and new menu offerings to give a full dinner a try... To start, we had the chicken street tacos. Very good. I've had the steak ones before and prefer them slightly. For dinner, I had the sausage penne dish. Excellent flavor. Hubby did the jidori chicken and truffled mac n' cheese. The chicken was cooked perfectly and very tasty. To drink, we took advantage of the Monday special - $6 martinis. I had the pink grapefruit. Delish! I like my drinks a little more on the tart side so the bartender skipped the sugar rim. Yum. I had two and left pretty buzzed (we live across the street so we were walking...). Our waiter was awesome. Friendly, helpful and professional. Being a Monday, the patio was quiet. Nice for date night. I've been receiving their wine dinner emails. If they were a little more reasonably priced or if I really, really, really liked the winery featured, I might give one a try. The new Da Vino room is a nice addition - comfortable, spacious and would make a great special event/party room. We eat out a lot and happily support our local businesses. I'm happy that we had a good return experience at Hanna's and see a few more visits in the future!

It is rare that I ever write a review for any establishment but Hanna's is a gem that our community is lucky to have. From the unique appetizers (best edamame I have ever had!) the salads, entrees, specials and desserts, Hanna's competes with the best of the best in the country. The service is 5 star. The staff is trained impeccably by the owner, Dave Hanna, and they are always happy to see each guest with humbled respect. What makes Hanna's more than a restaurant is how they give back to the community by donating constantly to our local schools, scholarships and with their commitment to our Veterans through the annual Semper Fi golf tournament. It's not only a restaurant that serves arguably some of the best food in OC but they also impact our community positively on so many levels and I am grateful to support them.
(5)Brian C.
The OC Ultimate cheeseburger was great. I give this one an 8. Skinny fries were perfect. The service is the best in Orange County by far. Nothing compares. Other menu items are pricey however to get this kind of personal service it will cost you. We also had 2 employees assigned to us. The earned a 40%tip. A must try in my book.
(5)Lindsay A.
This place was recommended to my dad by some of his work buddies. After a morning of golf for him and a lazy Saturday morning for me, he dragged me out of the house to go here. Normally when my dad asks me to get lunch, he really means "we're going to go run a bunch of errands I have to do and then get food somewhere along the way." I was hardly dressed to impress wearing some of the clothes I slept in (wow embarrassing). I wasn't expecting much from a place called Hannah's in the middle of an RSM strip mall, but I should have known better than to judge a book by its cover. My dad and I walked up to the door and were greeting by a gracious hostess who let us select where we'd like to sit. We were meeting up with the rest of our family later so we chose a booth toward the back. When we sat down I immediately noticed that the booth cushions were some of the softest and bouncy cushions I have ever had the pleasure to sit on. The place itself is pretty nice. The feel, once inside, is similar to a 1920's piano bar. Hannah's was not very busy for lunch, but I can imagine it being packed for dinner. The restaurant was decked out with dark wood tables accented with colors of dark red and black. All that was really missing from this place was a grand piano and a singer. There are sitting rooms at multiple locations in the restaurant with large couches and fluffy pillows so I'd imagine this would be a great place to go for a big girls/guys night. The great service didn't stop there. I was next greeted by a server named Michael who promised my dad and I excellent service. He was very pleasant and made quick jokes here and there. The drink menu was provided separately on an iPad. I was very impressed with the high-tech presentation. The wine and beer list was decently long while the cocktail list consisted of creative, fun, and classic drinks. I chose to stick with water, but I want to go back and try a cocktail or two. The menu consisted of eclectic and decadent choices. Needless to say I was tempted by almost every appetizer and had a hard time choosing my main course. My family and I went with a steamed artichoke that came with bread crumbs and a spicy cream sauce. The lemon that came with it was even sealed in a yellow bag so the seeds wouldn't get into the artichoke. The artichoke itself was a prime pick. It was tender and ripe with a large artichoke heart in the center. For my main course I had the steak salad cooked medium rare. It's not very often that I receive a steak salad actually cooked with medium rare steak. I usually ask for this type of temperature but it is rarely anything but well done. I was pleased that my salad didn't come with blue cheese (gross!) and came with goat cheese instead. The chef had his/her way with my salad and added an interesting touch to it: mandarin oranges. This detail added an interesting flavor to the blend of spinach leaves, avocado, frites, and steak. My dad got the classic burger (offered at two sizes: 1/3 and 1/2 pound), my mom got 2 salmon tacos and my sister got the butternut squash soup with a side of pomme fries. Fun fact: pomme fries is just a fancy French way of saying french fries! The food presentation was beautiful and the consistency was delicious. No one had a single bit of food left on their plate which is saying something because the portion sizes are generous. All the while our contentious server kept our drinks filled and was available every 10 minutes or less in case we needed something. Even my sisters lemonade was kept full free of charge. As we left the restaurant the hostess rushed to hold the door open for us and wished us a pleasant rest of the day. We left Hanna's satiated, happy, impressed, and eager to come back! P.S. Michael made good on his promise to take care of us. Thank you!

The best restaurant of its kind in the Saddleback Valley, without question. Hanna's is a local steak/chop house designed around a concept of culinary excellence presented in a customer focused atmosphere. The bar is unmatched in terms of the quality of the staff, their personality, and fun style. It's a great experience to sit bar side and enjoy a drink or even a meal. The owner is beyond dedicated, he is an artist, in terms of the art of business. The executive chef is brilliant and humble, crafting so many great dishes. Check out the recently built wine room and look for he expanded patio are too. If you want to go out some place nice, where you'll be treated unbelievably well, probably like family, make a reservation at Hanna's. If you're looking for a nice lunch or early dinner, walk in and you'll always be happy when you leave. 5 Stars for service. 5 Stars for food quality. 5 Stars for atmosphere.
(5)Kyle L.
Great food and the wait staff was very friendly. The calamari is very goog and it came out cooked perfect. The pork chop and filet were also very very good. Will deffenetly be back here.
(5)Paul T.
Hannah's is my favorite after work bar and restaurant. Dave has a great place with excellent staff from hostess to bar to servers! The food is awesome and the wine is phenomenal! Thanks for giving me a place to go when Rancho shuts down!
(4)Bob Y.
Best steakhouse in the OC. I have been Hanna's numerous times and each time the service is wonderful, and most importantly the food is outstanding. Today went to lunch for Father's Day, sat at the counter watching the cooks it was a great day
(5)Meygan A.
By far the best restaurant i've been to. Amazing service and don't get me started about the food. My favorite place to go. When arriving they greet you and sit you down right away with reservation. When seated the waiter comes instantly and greets and serves warm bread. The best appeitzer is the edamame (never have tasted anything better) and the bruscetta. For dinner I always get a steak. And dessert THE WARM BUTTER CAKE! Best restaurant recommend going for a special occasion.
(5)Laurie C.
This place is simply the best! Everything here is amazing!! LOVE the service here! On my order visit, our server gave me a $25 gift card to come back! How nice is that? Then the food of course is delicious. Best filet mignon ever. Love sitting up at the bar and watching the guys cook in front of you, whole enjoying a glass of wine. And you have to try their garlic edamame while waiting for your meal!! They're addictive! Love Hanna's!!
(5)Paige P.
Hanna's is always a pleasure. I have been going here since the day it has opened and I have NEVER had a bad meal or a bad experience. Every family birthday is spent here and Dave and Sean in the kitchen go above and beyond to make us feel special. I would recommend the Filet and the Sea Bass. OH and the butter cake. Never a bad choice.
(5)Eva E.
I took my daughter to Hanna's for her birthday. It was easy to get a reservation. This being our first time, I was surprised at how small it was inside; quite noisy too; but when we were taken to our seats we were ushered to the dining room in the rear section that was quiet and pleasant. We sat in a booth that had very cushiony seats and had a great experience from that moment on. Kudos to the wait staff, especially Deanna, who provided impeccable service. Everyone seems to specialize in great customer service and attentiveness. I ordered the 6 oz filet mignon with broccolini and my daughter ordered the OC cheeseburger. Both items were outstanding and cooked to our preference. The quality of the food was very good. When we first arrived we were asked if the meal was for a special occasion; since I let them know it was for a birthday, they surprised us with their famous butter cake and vanilla gelato. Even though we were thinking of ordering something with chocolate, It did not disappoint! And it was complimentary.... Nice job Hanna's!!
(4)Mort H.
Holy Cannoli ! I am in a state of utter disbelief that it has been two years since my last visit to Hanna's. Either time flies very fast, or I am really slow. What ever my personal problem, I am happy to say that the quality of food and service at Hanna's has not faltered. This restaurant remains one of the top picks for southern OC.
(5)Monique D.
I had a great time at Hanna's! I went with a group of friends (about 8 of us) on a Wednesday for their great wine deal. I had the edamame appetizer and a veggie burger with a salad instead of fries. The edamame (actually had a lot of flavor), veggie burger (one of the best I have ever had), and salad were great! Only complaint is that when I subbed the salad for the fries, they charged $5 for the substitution - which I was never told about and the salad was NOT worth $5. It was miniscule. Other than that, it was a great experience!
(4)Cortney K.
Everything was top notch - service, food, ambiance.. The service is probably the best I've received anywhere. Felt like a queen. We were greeted by many people upon entering, our waters will always filled, and were checked on frequently. The food was impeccable. I want to come back as soon as possible! They are really something special.
(5)Dan K.
Very hard to believe all of the great reviews after my dining experience last night. Purely made a reservation based on the reviews. First we were seated behind the bar against the window and it was freezing. The waitress said she would check and see if there was something that could be done, however, never heard another peep. Our waitress must have been somewhat new as she had to ask for assistance with every question, even if the Morgan Bait and Tackle was cooked or raw... This place a pretty extensive wine list with No one to help. In most high end restaurants the server is sure to watch the wine glasses and fill as needed. For an appetizer we ordered the Grilled Artichoke for which was decent but overcooked. For my entrée I ordered the Bone In Filet (Pittsburgh Style) which is supposed to be charred and rare inside along with the Brussel Sprouts and Cremini Mushrooms. The steak was not charred and was well inside and the Brussel Sprouts were almost raw. I ordered a glass of Rombauer Chardonnay that must have been chilled to a temperature close to 40 degrees and had No flavor and was too cold to drink. I asked the server what managers were working and she pointed out 3 different that none were over the age of 25 as it seemed and No one seemed to care. The line cooks are also very, very young and there is obviously NO quality control happening as we were seated directly across. Way over rated and terrible for the prices.

This was my first time at Hanna's. I don't like to venture to RSM too often because I think it's a boring place but it was my friend's birthday and she wanted to come here. Her family kept raving about Hanna's and how great it was so I figured I'd be optimistic about it. It. was. so. good. We started off with the deviled eggs, edamame, tacos, and pizza (i think it was bbq) as appetizers. SO YUMMY, especially the deviled eggs and edamame. Couldn't stop eating those. They had a deal for their cocktails - half off Ketel One drinks. I had a couple of their cocktails, can't remember the names but they were sweet and delicious (and had the perfect amount of alcohol). My main course - the sausage carbonara. I lived in Italy for a bit, so I'm a bit biased when it comes to Italian food. I always expect the best. The carbonara was really good, I was pleasantly surprised. The only downfall was the service. We had to wait a while on our waitress. Granted, it was a Saturday night but she seemed to forget our drinks a couple of times. One of the people in our party didn't get her drink until the appetizers were completely done. Overall, this place was a nice surprise. It was worth the journey to Rancho Santa Margarita.
(4)Kim M.
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I can't believe I have lived in RSM for over 10 years & have never eaten here. This is 100% my new FAVORITE restaurant! The service is impeccable, the appetizers are amazing, the steak literally melts in your mouth. We really wanted to try the butter cake for dessert but we were just too full off the amazing meal we experienced! We ordered the bruschetta & brie for appetizers - outta this world, for dinner we ordered the beef stroganoff with truffle mac & cheese & filet mignon with garlic mashed - OMG!!!! I loved that they will bring you any sauces you request on the side, they don't nickel & dime you for every side. Mortons used to be my favorite steak house before I tried Hanna's. Hands DOWN the best restaurant in RSM & much better selection than Mortons, Ruths Chris or Flemings. Give this place a shot - you will not be disappointed! One other little side note that made our dining experience even better was the owner of the restaurant is visible & comes around to talk to the patrons - not the manager - the owner. I thought that was such a nice touch because you can tell his pride of ownership and you see a difference in the staff in their level of service. Wonderful place!! :-)

One of the best places in south O.C. :-) GO!
(5)David D.
Great food, service and atmosphere. We are local/regulars and highly recommend. Dave Hanna and his staff are extremely accommodating and we always leave extremely pleased.
(5)Reggie R.
Hanna's prepares half of their food in the back access hallway of their restaurant. The health department needs to be called out to this facility, obviously they are not properly equipped to handle the volume of guests coming in and their catering service. It's absolutely disgusting! Is this even up to health code? I parked in the back of the restaurant and instead of making my way around the building, I took the access hallway in between the shops and the movie theater. They had regular tables, not even stainless steel prep tables, outside the door that leads to their kitchen, prepping FOOD! Be wary of eating here!

This is the only excellent restaurant in the area! Been eating there for years and have always had excellent service and food.
(5)Kelley R.
Used to be a favorite of ours, but not so much anymore:( The last time we were there, we ordered the same meal as usual (I know, boring!) This time the filet was not nearly of as high of a quality as usual. Quite disappointing! My husband keeps telling me that we should try it again, but it's too expensive for second chances!

This place is mediocre at best. The prices are not cheap for the quality of the food but the atmosphere is pretty relaxing. Overall, the menu lacks inspiration. And there is no prime rib or lamb chop or veal chop...stuff that you'd expect would also be on a typical steakhouse menu... However, there is quite a selection of appetizers to chose from. And the Chilean seabass and the fish of the day (which was Halibut) was prepared really well. Some appetizers and sides we shared family style were: 1) lobster spring roll (deep fried pretty well, and the flavor of the mango really accents the seafood filling); 2)the ahi tower was weird, kinda like a handroll placed on a plate...would not order again; 3) coconut shrimp was really tasty and the sauce was pretty good we had to order a second helping! 4) calamari salad had way way way too much creamy dressing on it which detracts from the salad, but contrasted well w/ the fried calamari; 5) stir-fried mushrooms really seasoned well, was tasty and not too salty. Monday is $6 martini night and the martinis are pretty decent. It's a good place to hang out, sip on a cocktail and have a quick bite or two, but don't expect to be wow-ed. If you're looking for more of a yummy all around DELICIOUS steakhouse, I'd go straight to a Morton's or even Gulliver's. But, for a neighborhood steak joint, nestled away in a strip mall in RSM this is decent. The leather red chairs are comfy and the place is not crowded, which makes a good location to hang for a while and drink with friends. Desserts such as Chocolate lava cake is so so at best, pana cotta is lemony and quite refreshing. The creme brulee is NOT good and I was disappointed. How do you mess that up? One reason I gave them a three instead of two stars is because their dinner rolls is super super super tasty. The server mentioned it was made in-house and I was really impressed. It was soft and warm and "Hawaiian bread" style...a bit sweet, not too sweet though, and just really tasty.

Great service, good food, (the Coconut Shrimp was awesome!), and they were very helpful with our reservation. Opentable.com only had a 6:15 or 8pm reservation so we took the 6:15 but put a note that we would prefer 7pm figuring noone would ever actually look at the note. The very next day I got a call from Hanna's and they confirmed my 7pm reservation and even updated Opentable.com . Great service. My wife and I will definitely go back.

I went to Hanna's last night for dinner with the girls. As soon as we sat down we were greeted by our server. We ordered two bottles of wine and were discussing with each other that the wine we wanted happened to be the cheapest bottle and that was kind of embarrassing. However, the waiter said "that's not embarrassing its good wine!" That made us feel better about ordering it! Our food came out and was served to the right person (rather than auctioning it off). The food was delicious! Mr. Hanna came over to our table to ask if we needed anything and we complimented our waiter. We found out that it was his nephew. They brought us complimentary dessert - Creme Brule and it was great! This is the best restaurant in RSM. We can't wait to go back!

This place is great! And they cook up a tasty filet. I've been going here since it opened, about once a month and it's always been fabulous.

Funny thing about this place is that I used to work for the owner Dave Hanna right before he sold Haute Cafe in the Pavillons Center. He hired me for my first job as a barista. Of course those of you who have been in Rancho long enough know, this location is now a Starbucks. Good to see Dave's still in Rancho and successful in his latest venture. This place is definitely trying to add some more upper scale to downtown Rancho and is reflected in the prices. It seems a bit steep for anyone in the outskirts of gated community life. My brother and his friends frequent here occassionally and wanted to take us the last time my husband and I were home. My brother's girlfriend had a pear martini which was a bit sweet for my taste. The rest of us ordered a bottle of wine. Caution the mark up is high and we would have done better to bring our own. We started with the Pepper Seared Ahi and it was my favorite part of the meal, although as long as the ahi is only seared, it's hard to mess up the flavor. I had Hanna's steak salad and it was nice. They do have a large selection of salads which is something a restaurant in this area needed. The service was decent and friendly although a little intermitent as it was a busy night. I would visit again but would prefer Opah if I had to choose.

It wasn't easy for me to give any restaurant in RSM above three stars, but after reluctantly trying almost everything there is to try on the menu, I gotta admit that I'm a fan of Hanna's. The only reason I've had the opportunity to eat here so much is my family's Rainman-like obsession with the cozy neighborhoody feel of the place. The steak is first rate, as are the mashed potatoes. Sweet potato fries are just right, almost a tie for my favorite in South County. Once the fish came out cold (oops), but the waitress was eager to make things right. Mr. Hanna, the owner, is very friendly (he even gave us a box of chocolates at Christmas time), and the ambiance is warm and relaxed. Be sure to try their creme brûlée trio...that's what really sealed the deal for me.
(4)Holly B.
I have been to Hanna's approximately 20 times and the food/service has always been great. The menu is updated often while still keeping the popular dishes. The owner will listen to any comments from customers. This has to be one of my favorite places to go. Good job Hanna's... All we need now is to bring back the peanut butter brownie :)
(5)Amber G.
Best food in RSM:). Love the atmosphere, and the service is always warm and wonderful from the moment you walk in till you walk out the door. Went here last night after a very long day and took our 5 month old baby. Even though this place is not a "kid place" (rightfully so) the staff was kind and accommodating. Reminded me why I love Hanna's.... they always go above and beyond the expectation.
(5)Jeana K.
Great food and drinks, love the atmosphere, The Real Houswives of Orange County all fequent this place often, so watch for camera's !
(5)Joseph B.
I was unhappy when I left this place. The wine list was presented on a tablet and it was confusing. The pretty pictures showed prices for full bottles of wine but not single glasses (or if it did it was confusing & I didn't see it). I unknowingly ordered & paid $19 for a glass of "Hanna's Cabernet Sauvignon" that was ordinary at best. The only reason I'm not giving them one star is that the food was decent and the wait staff was excellent. Nonetheless, I feel as if I was "played for a sucker." My wife and I are big on eating out, but we will NEVER go back to Hanna's. That $19 glass of wine means a ton of lost business for them in the future. I repeat: I really don't like being played for a sucker.

I was so excited to try this restaurant. I had heard countless friends rave about it and was certain the food would be wonderful. These expectations were affirmed when I saw on the restaurant door that it was recognized as the best restaurant in Rancho Santa Margarita and the chef had also received accolades. UNFORTUNATELY, THESE AWARDS AND WISHES WERE TO BE GREATLY EXAGGERATED! Where do I begin? First off, I made the mistake of ordering a main course that featured "butterfish." I did so upon the recommendation of the waitress. I was originally going to order a petite fillet, but was told the butterfish was exceptional and one of the evenings specials. This fish was 4 inches thick and served cold in the center; there's no way one could cook any fish of this thickness properly, it should have been cut thinner. Within an hour after eating this, I became terribly sick. Sorry to get graphic, but I had diarrhea. I spoke to the other people at our table, one of whom had the same main course. He too, experienced the same repercussions. Later on that evening, I googled butterfish. Apparently, this is a common side effect. The fish is considered toxic in Japan; a place where almost any fish is eaten. Furthermore, it's not allowed in several European countries. Why would any trained and experienced chef allow this to be served in his restaurant???!!! Not only was I disappointed with my food, I thought the hostesses were "out to lunch". Granted, we made a reservation quite late in the week and they were able to accommodate us. However, we clearly needed a table that was suitable for young children. They originally placed us at a table with chairs that were the height of typical bar stools. Luckily, it was early enough in the evening that they were able to move us to a table with chairs that were lower/safer. Due to the combination of the above events I will never return and will tell my friends to avoid it at all costs... overpriced and of poor quality.
(1)Mark M.
I love this place! The 5 dollar burger is excellent, the wait staff is friendly and professional. The restaurant is very clean. I will be back to take advantage of the free corkage.
(5)Lu D.
Wonderfull place to have dinner. The staff is prompt and courteous. There is no corkage fee charge and food was delicious. I had the prime top sirloin and my wife had the crab stuffed swordfish. Both were cooked to perfection. I would highly recomend this place. We WILL be back.
(5)Marcus B.
This is the kind of review I hate to write. Why? Because we soo wanted it to be good. My wife and I just got home from our dinner at Hanna's. The atmosphere was excellent. The service was excellent. The lounge/waiting area was excellent. However, the true measure of any restaurant (especially at these prices) is the quality of the food. And to be very honest, it just wasn't good at all. We had appetizers, salad, entrees and dessert. The presentation was adequate but the taste of everything was mediocre at best.
(2)Mary K.
Had a fabulous dinner with a friend last night. My husband and I had visited the restaurant on a Saturday night (without a reservation) approximately 2 months ago. There were no tables available and no seats at the bar. One of the hosts apologized and gave us a gift card. Just found out last night that it was worth $15. Unbelievable! Service and food were fantastic. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the cost of my wine....$15 per glass for the Hanna brand chardonnay. Way too pricey!
(4)Rachel S.
My husband and I wanted to celebrate his promotion during our work week and enjoy a nice dinner within close proximity. We are a young couple, but would rather have a beautiful delicious meal less often as compared to eating crummy food all the time. We went there last night, and the food was outstanding. They have really amazing food specials, and customer service. My husband wanted a hamburger and realized when we have arrived for dinner that the hamburger bar and selection was geared for the lunch crowd. But the waitress said that mattered not at all and have the chef cook whatever we wanted! I know you would typically think who would order a burger at a nice restaurant, but it was indescribably delicious. There was immense flavor and everything was cooked to perfection. We had the tuna tower appetizer (fantastic), and the sweet potato fries to accompany (yummy)! As a topper she even brought us out a dessert to congratulate him :) We had eaten here before as well and ordered the cheese platter appetizer and chefs specials at that time, and it made us come back for more! From the basics, to the frills they prepare an incredible meal with outstanding service.
(5)Ryan J.
Great Menu, Friendly Staff. Dave Hanna is an excellent owner. He is always walking around greeting customers, making them feel comfortable. The food is first class, and they always off different and delicious Specials. Highly recommend for a fun night out!
(5)Jill H.
I really don't understand why the ratings are so high at this place. We waited for a half hour out front for a table and decided to order drinks that were way too pricey for what we got because they were watered down. The appetizer we order was delicious but it was the highlight of the evening. My husband ordered Korean ribs (special) and not only were they not special they weren't good at all. They didn't have a touch of soy sauce on them or Asian flair. They were downright bad. We sent them back they were so bad. I ordered fish that lacked flavor and the wow factor I would expect from a place like this. Needless to say we have never returned. The best thing about this place is the decor which is cute and trendy and the apps. otherwise it is just a waste of money.
(2)Marvin M.
My wife & I have enjoyed Hanna's for years. This past weekend we hosted our daughter & her fiancée's engagement party. It was fantastic! The service was outstanding, an amazing strong focus on customer service and attention to detail. Everyone had a smile on their face and made the event so pleasant and friendly. The ambiance was great; Dave allowed us to have the restaurant to ourselves for three hours. The food was so tasty and delightful. Steak, seafood, and vegetarian it was all wonderful. Hanna's is at the top of our list of all-time favorite restaurants.
(5)Gina K.
It's pricey for what it is. Their service is good but what a cougar den. I swear I was the only one under the age of 40 there. I'd recommend going next door to Opah if you're gonna go here.
(3)suzanne s.
i went the first time friday and the food and service is amazing will def return
(5)Kathy H.
I love this restaurant. The food is outstanding! My husband and I love good food and Hanna's is very high quality. Yes, it's a bit pricey but for a special dinner, it's well worth it. They have a delicious steak salad and their sea bass is one of my favorites. Their steaks are the best around.
(5)Adrian L.
When I dined at Hanna's shortly after it opened I found it to be excessively expensive for the quality of food. $15 for a basic cheeseburger!? The apps were just OK as well. Save your money and look elsewhere.
(2)Kensi T.
A nice place to go if you live out there, but not worth the trip if you live more than 15 miles away. Wait staff was pleasant and menu items were good, but nothing to rave about. Most entrees don't come with salad or vegetable, so if you order those, the per person price goes up considerably.
(3)Jason K.
Hanna's would benefit from outside council. There's no reason that it couldn't be a great restaurant. Maybe Hanna could visit Modo Mio and take some notes. :-) I don't know any of the staff personally, but I've seen many excellent servers fired for reasons unknown to me. This has taken away some of the original appeal. The menu needs to be reworked with more variety and more "sharable" appetizers. The prices need to come down some. As an owner, I believe that I'd favor customer volume over high prices, but I'm sure there are realities that make this more difficult to do than to propose.
(2)Dana S.
went for my husbands b'day, which happened to be on a sat. night, so extra crowded, we had great food, everthing was good, and the drinks also. it is pricy, but its well worth it, we have been there many times, only not on sat. so its crowed and noisy, but the service is great, we had stephanie last night and all the waitpeople were very attentive, great place.

Celebrating pre-Valentine's Day with my fiancé at Hanna's. The food was divine but this review is all about stellar service from our gentleman waiter, Austin. He turned this into a very special late night supper. He embodied 1) sincerity and 2) It is my pleasure to serve you - rare outside of Ritz Carltons. Wow. By the end of the meal I wanted to email Austin's Mom to tell her how proud she should be. Lol Appetizer lobster rolls - delish. Beautiful salad that we asked to be split, very impressed that two plates were served with individual columns of delightfully fresh, tasty and unique composite of arugula greens, perfectly diced chicken and avocado. Main entrees were very good, too. We will definitely be back...and request to be seated at one of Austin's tables every time.
(5)Joy J.
Hanna's is the best in so many ways...! The food is consistently wonderful (love the sushi tower appetizer and calamari - and of course the beef never disappoints. Pork chop amazing too). Yes, it's a little expensive for this area of town, but there is no other fine dining restaurant that has the ambience, quality of food and great service - all with a fun, upbeat and trendy vibe. If you're looking to save a buck, come on Wed nights for 1/2 price wine - make a reservation though because they get packed. Or, come at lunch for the $5 burger. For me, it's worth the extra $ and I've never had a bad experience. Also, worth mentioning is that I love how Hanna's always helps the local organizations - they donate to so many non-profits, schools, etc. and they don't need to do this because they already have such a strong, self-sufficient business already. It just goes to show they care about our community and they appreciate their customers and I can't say this about a lot of the other restaurants in the area.
(5)Fred H.
...been to this place several times for lunch. Excellent food...nice decor...very nice staff. Will have dinner there soon
(4)BJ S.
Great service & food but gets crowded on weekend nights A bit pricey but worth it. Love to go for lunch Never have been disappointed
(5)Shawn I.
Best high end restaurant in RSM by far. Bartenders are very generous in their pours. Food is pricey, but definitely good. Lobster mac is fantastic. Steaks were cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend.
(4)Brandon S.
I've been dining at Hanna's since it first opened. Hanna's is marketed as a "prime beef" steak restaurant but they are really an upscale "Americana" restaurant, serving fine steak, great seafood, and all sorts of fine Americana. The owner, Dave Hanna has been on site almost every time I've been there for dinner, he's constantly walking around to see how everybody is doing, making sure everyone is happy. Hannas is not cheap but there are a few reasons........ It's not advertised but Hanna's buys and serves as much organically grown or raised food as possible. They cant always buy everything organic so they can't advertise as 100% "organic". Just ask the server and they will tell you. They believe in buying only the best and most fresh produce and meats.....this is one big reason Hanna's is expensive. The other reason for the expense is that the food is really great and prepared with care! The menu items are creative and the specials do not disappoint. I would say Hanna's is very close in flavor to Flemmings and Mastros; both of which are more expensive. I can't afford to eat at Hanna's for dinner but once or twice a week but I am very rarely disappointed with anything I order. Most people think of Hanna's for dinner but they have a wonderful breakfast and a superb lunch menu (not expensive!) Here is a BIG secret....Hanna's has the best gourmet burger around....prime beef, juicy, and huge. Seriously, their lunch burger special is such a deal!!! If only all those people who waste their money at overpriced frozen OC Burger would just cross the street and spend the SAME amount of money for a burger that is 100% better! DID YOU HEAR ME!!!! Cross the street!!!! You will be soooooooo happy!!!! Ok, yeah it's a bit swanky at night, you may see a real housewife of Orange County dining next to you but just realize that everybody dines here because it's great....not because it's trendy. Hanna's is always packed on the weekends and most nights because it's a great dining experience.....it's not trendy. They have been packed since first opening. Lastly, I do not have any interest in or relation to Hanna's....I just love food and want others to know it is a solid establishment. Thanks Hanna's for being the best dining within 10-15 miles. THEY HAVE A WONDERFUL WINE SELECTION AND A FINE FULL BAR. GREAT PATIO. I also bring my kids all the time. *******Hey, if you're not happy with your meal...tell your wait staff and get what you want.........This type of restaurant is here to please the customer! This is the last reason it's expensive........because they care a lot about the customer and aim to please.
(4)Yasi A.
Always amazing service and the friendliest staff! Food is great and always fresh too!
(5)Ingrid M.
I found Hanna's through Yelp and we gave it a try with out of town visitors. I was originally looking for the restaurant that took over the restaurant, but chose this instead due to the good reviews. We went about 7 pm on a weekend, and it was busy with a good energy. We sat on the patio.. Nice, but not such a nice view of the street,. The menu had a great selection, and I liked that they used high quality, naturally raised meats and local in season vegetables. Presentation of the food was great, and the staff was very professional and friendly, even the owner came and talked to us for a while. The food however was lacking in taste, which was disappointing, because everything else was great. It just seemed like everything needed more seasoning in general, and that was the consensus from all six of us at the table.
(4)Leanne N.
Amazing!!! Love, love, love the steak salad and worth everyone of the 19 dollars I pay for it. Service is very friendly. This is now my Favorite place!!!
(5)David G.
I love this place! As embarrassing as it is to stay, I was first interested in trying out Hanna's because my wife mentioned this is the restaurant that the Real Housewives of Orange County frequent. That quickly wore off, because the food speaks for itself. My favorite is their fillet mignon and salmon. Great atmosphere and extremely friendly hosts. I put them up there with Ruth's Chris, and think in many ways is even better. If you are looking for a non-chain steak house this is a great place to try!
(5)Knucklehead S.
Unfortunately we were there when a couple became so drunk and belligerent. Not good and embarrassing at best since we brought clients to the restaurant. One person at our table ordered the pork chop with hazelnuts and had pieces of shell in it.
(3)Brian L.
Always a great experience. The staff and management go above and beyond to ensure their guests are taken care of. Their wine and drink list will meet your every desire and the food is always exquisite. You won't be disappointed, just don't show up with out a reservation as they are always busy.
(5)Steve C.
Visited on Saturday for lunch and was immediately greeted by hostess, who opened the door for our party. She arranged two tables so we could sit together and could not have been friendlier. I ordered the fish (Halibut) tacos, which were excellent and I would recommend. Server kept refilling out beverages (iced tea & water) and asking if there was anything else she could do. Nice Father's Day gift from my step-daughter.
(4)Michael K.
Service was OUTSTANDING! Stephanie was Awesome!! Best waitress ever !! Thank you!! Halibut perfection.... Bread pudding amazing!! Great ambiance!!
(5)Afshin B.
WOW! this is a very special place,,,,you gotta get the filet skewer appetizers! there's wonderful,,,,macadamia crusted halibut is not so good, but the chilean sea bass is just a master piece,,,,I like to get a lot of appetizers when I go to dinner,,,and then a main course,,,this place is perfect for that,,, they have lots of creative and exciting appetizer options,,,the ahi tower rocks,,,every restaurant has some srot of ahi appetizer,,so much so, that sometimes its hard to order it cause every other place ive been to has it! but they do it very well and in a creative and special manner here. Wonderful restaurant in RSM!
(4)Tammy S.
The food is ALWAYS EXCELLENT every time we go! Great service, great food!
(5)Laura L.
I thought I had reviewed Hanna's before but I guess not... This is one of my regular 'go-to' places for celebrations, LA-style food or just when I need to enjoy being completely catered to. I brought my family here this past week for good food, great wine and good times. We were NOT disappointed. David created a wonderful new wine room that is set off from the rest of the restaurant encompassing about 8 tables varying in size. We started with the filet skewers and a mixed cheese platter. The skewers are a regular for us but this time it seemed they were a bit well done on the ends. This was definitely a first. We could have done without the cheese platter thingy. Most of us ordered salads before our meal- all of us seemed to clear our plates before the main meal came. My sister ordered the special 16 oz bone-in filet and LOVED every bite. (I enjoyed pointing out the price to her later and it actually became a joke for the rest of her visit... $52 for the steak and one side seemed ridiculously steep to ALL of us and prices rarely make us balk). I enjoyed the swordfish (also on the specials menu, but not as pricey...) that came with a fresh pea risotto and some HUGE asparagus spears. The risotto was pretty meh but the swordfish was incredible. Seasoned perfectly, cooked impeccably. Swordfish is so easy to overcook and the chef at Hanna's definitely didn't mess this one up for me. Hanna's is great for soooo many options. Need drinks and appetizers? go! Need a fancy place for clients to be impressed? Go. Need a great place for a new date? gooOOooo! Just need some amazing food because you have had a shitty day and the kids are driving you crazy and you just don't feel like having one more effed up minute? Go.
(4)R R.
I really like this place. Bartender there is awesome helped us pick an awesome drink; one of the waitress there rocks too! And the food is deli-sh, can't say more. A must visit if you live in OC.
(5)Chad K.
Ate there Tuesday night and discovered that they added some new dishes to their menu. To start with we ordered the Shrimp Cocktail. When we ordered it our server advised us that the dish now came with 3 VERY large shrimp instead of what I think used to be 6. We appreciated the heads up. For dinner I ordered their Kobe Meatballs and Bucatini. This dish was very good. Needless to say the meat balls were VERY tender and flavorful being Kobe beef. The marinara sauce it came with was very good. Not to thick, but not too watery. We were all very pleased to see some new items on the menu as my family and I eat here regularly.
(5)Elle D.
Hanna's was amazingly accommodating for my gluten-free allergy. The server not only asked the chef for his opinion, but the chef appeared at our table to ensure I was okay with the menu substitution. Responsible, accommodating, quality restaurant. I hesitate writing this raving review since I want to keep it a secret (it is always impossible to get a reservation on a Friday or Saturday night). A true gem!
(5)Zuzu N.
Hanna's. We are so lucky to have you in RSM. Celebrated my husband's birthday here last night with a party of 6. We all had a terrific time. The staff here is amazing. Our server Stephanie was great along with all the runners and other staff that served our table. Everyone was smiling and friendly. Our appetizers included the ahi tower and calamari. Delicious. Salads included Proper house (you can never go wrong) and the special which was a burrata cheese with tomatoes and grilled watermelon. Amazers! We are a carnivorous crowd so all of our entrees were in the steak family except for one order of a fish special (sorry, can't remember what it was) and we were all very pleased with our choices. This place was hopping on a Saturday night. Varied crowd - you can dress up or down here and still feel very comfortable. Great energy. To top off the evening, we were treated to their butter cake. Unbelievable! Is it custard? Is it cake? I don't know but it is delicious. As a side note, lunch here is always great and very reasonable. Just go!
(5)Natasha E.
This place is amazing! Food is amazing. Ambiance is nice for a date. Drinks are really good. Wait time is not long. Staff is nice.
(5)Anonymous D.
In my opinion, Hanna's is the only fine dining in the RSM area. Up there with Mastro's Ocean Club, this place is good and the staff provides great service. It was a long time ago that I ate here for a family birthday, so sadly I can't remember all of the dinner's details... but we enjoyed it! Definitely a good restaurant for special occasions.
(5)XO X.
Classy atmosphere, savory food, good service. Can get crowed, so best to plan ahead, and/or make a reservation. Happy eating...cheers!
(4)R I.
Way, Way, Way overpriced! Requested a special order and the bill was outrageous! I spent more money here than at the Ritz for less food and less quality. Don't waste your money. I drove in from Dana Point to try something new. Place is in a shopping mall by a Kohls. I could not believe what they charge for so so food!
(1)Jennifer B.
Haven't eaten here yet, but walked in and didn't know you had to have reservations and they have us a $25 gift card for us to come back.
(5)Kerry F.
Love this place. Food is always excellent. Great date spot. Not cheap tho, so be prepared to drop some coin.
(4)Matt G.
I went here with a friend who shared that this is his favorite restaurant in the area. I now know why! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was casual and fun. The salmon entree was excellent; I had it with the sauce and my wife had it without and we were both thoroughly satisfied. The Brussel Sprouts with Pancetta were amazing and we have tried to recreate them now at home, but Hanna's are the best! Highly recommended, but know that it is a little pricy.
(5)Jessica G.
Hanna's seemed like a shining jewel in the middle of Orange County Suburbia; a place that I had always wanted to dine at. Although the menu is a little old fashioned and is not on the bandwagon of "tapas, new american" cuisine yet, the menu still looked delicious and intriguing. It is a bit of a drive from my house in Orange (60 mi plus 6 bucks in tolls for a round trip!) but I had high hopes for my experience. Those hopes were immediately shattered as soon as I walked in the door. I had made reservations for a Wednesday night at the chef's counter assuming that the business would be at a low..how wrong was I. The place was bustling when I went to check in with a hostess. I was extremely excited to sit at the chef's counter and watch the action because I am a chef and my date is as well. We love to cook and watching the chef's prepare our food would be a really fun and entertaining experience. I arrived early for my 7:30 reservation at 7:15. That anticipation was immediately destroyed when the hostess informed me that my seats had been given away to regulars who "spend a great deal of money contributing to the success of Hanna's." Ummm..excuse me? I had fucking reservations days in advance and some asshole walks right in without a reservation and claims my seat without a problem? The chef's counter is at least 10 seats and there should have been several other seats but no; my date and I were informed that we could sit at a teeny tiny booth across the way from the counter and that's it. I retorted with "I drove 30 miles to eat at your restaurant and that is where I intend on sitting. I do not mind waiting, but I do not want to sit anywhere but the chef's counter." the hostess then informed me that I could wait, but a seat may not clear up. I decided to take my chances. What made me feel even worse was the lack of respect I received from the staff at Hanna's. They acted like i was the one wronging them. 90 minutes later, we were finally able to sit down. By then it was almost closing time. I arrived at 7:15 and sat at 8:45 exactly. There was no apology by the staff at all, no offer for wine or appetizers, just a look of "order and then get the heck out." The food is nothing to write home about. The only thing that was good was the seasonal chopped salad, but who can mess up chopped veg with a simple vinaigrette? Oh, and word to the wise? Do NOT order the pasta. Anything the cooks' tongs touch take a nice, little bath in the pasta water for a "sanitation" dip. We also ordered the potato gratin or potato grease pile (seriously, the cheese created at least a half a cup worth of grease in the dish, barf!) and the ahi sliders which were blander than my mom's Thanksgiving turkey. We had to ask for lemon wedges to attempt to salvage their pitiful struggle at cooking a piece of fish. My favorite thing of the evening? Frozen bread rolls. Bravo. Dessert was out of the question..I heard ambiguous things about their butter cake which resembles and tastes like a stale, buttered cornbread. Oh, and "homemade" gelato? A lie. It is shipped in. Save yourself the pain and a few greenbacks while you're at it. Leave Hanna's in South County where it should be: forgotten.

1st time I had dinner here. Some friends recomended for a date and since my date was from RSM I decided to give it a try. We sat at the chef's counter, since there was not a table available. The food was nothing to rave about, the service was ok, but the ambiance is right for a date, but a little overpriced for just one date. Dont think I'll be back anytime soon.

Outstanding! If you want a really great meal in a great atmosphere, go to Hanna's. The Asian Short Ribs are out of this world delicious. There staff is friendly, the bread is baked fresh and everything on the menu is great. If you are celebrating anything, they make it special.
(5)Cathy L.
It's a little gem! The service and food were amazing. I recommend trying Hanna's!
(4)Joy M.
Wonderful, everything was just right! Atmosphere...under construction turning around to be even better. The mushroom appetizer was unbelievable. The entreés we're perfect. The waiter surprised us with a dessert of her choice and after just a few questions, her selection was amazing. Thank you Hanna's!

This is a must visit restaurant for anyone in South Orange County. I eat out a lot, and think nothing about driving 30 to 45 minutes to try out a new place (although, the farther I drive, the less wine I get to have with dinner...). Hanna's is easily the best neighborhood restaurant/bar within 20 or 30 miles. For anyone who has read any of my reviews of other restaurants, you should know I don't give out 5 stars or high praise lightly. Brought the GF's mom in for her birthday last Saturday. Was able to get a reservation in the wine room and pre-ordered a bottle of bubbly so it would be on ice when we arrived. The staff is amazing and has service down to an art. They were ready for us and didn't miss any detail. We started off with the burrata, prosciutto and poached pear appetizer, which was fantastic, then moved on to a crab salad on fried green tomatoes salad, the chef's special of the evening. For dinner my GF and her mom split the bone-in rib-eye, cooked to a perfect medium rare, while I had the pork chop sans the sauce (the quality of the meat is so good you really don't need any sauce). The staff overheard we were celebrating a birthday and brought a complimentary butter cake with a candle in it. Really capped off a great dinner and made the GF's mom feel special. Just another wonderful evening at Hanna's. Decor is great. Best design in the area....good for special occasions, date nights, or just bellying up to the bar. Dave Hanna really knows how to run a good business. It's tough to find good non-chain restaurants in South OC and he really hits it out of the park. Find a reason to try Hanna's out. The more you come in, the better your experience will be! P.S. Get to know Dave and Kyle behind the bar. This is perhaps the best piece of advice I can offer...

Food is really good but really expensive. Same with the drinks. They have some speciality martinis that are to die for and the French onion soup is my favorite of anywhere around here! My parents like their happy hour but I personally have never been. The burgers are really good and cooked perfect! I would recommend this place if you are looking for a nice meal and don't mind spending a pretty penny

I've been to Hanna's many times and I have never been disappointed! Came here Saturday night and started off with a Bellini. It has champagne vodka and strawberries in it and what a bright and flavorful drink it was!! At the table we shared the shrimp cocktail and the lobster roll. I've never seen larger shrimp in my entire life!!! 3 shrimp for $21 is steep but worth it, especially with the horseradish. For my main course I had a Chilean sea bass over a bed of artichoke risotto, incredible! Fish was cooked to perfection! My boyfriend got the filet and it was overlooked unfortunately.. But, the waitress didn't skip a beat or question him for a second. She took it back and brought him a perfectly cooked filet very quickly. Great food and ambiance and always have a fabulous time at Hanna's!!

Just moved to the area and tried this place for the first time. I was surprised how busy it was on a weekday so definitely make a reservation. But overall the staff was friendly and the service was great. I had the skirt steak and it was cooked perfectly. I will be back again to try some of the other options on the menu.

How come nobody ever told me about this place??? I was just telling my husband earlier in the day that I am getting tired of paying a lot of money to eat at restaurants that are just so-so. Then we (skeptically) decided to try Hanna's. Right from the beginning I was so impressed with this place. The service was over the top good. (Loved Kyle and all of his wine knowledge). We ordered a couple of appetizers and split a steak. Everything exceeded our expectation. Best edamames I've ever had. The executive chef, Sean, came out introduced himself to us. What I cool guy. Later, the owner, David Hanna came up and introduced himself as well. Also a cool guy-very warm and sincere. I can see why his restaurant is so successful and it make me wonder why other restaurants don't run their businesses the way he does. Also met some locals that were a lot of fun. We plan to meet them again. Bottom line: this place is worth the money!
(5)Anne F.
Far and away one of the restaurants in the RSM area. My husband and I are light eaters so we often split our food. The staff at Hanna's is always happy to do this. Great food, exceptional service and not really all that expensive. We LOVE THIS PLACE!!
(5)S. E.
I'm a big fan of Hanna's. I've been here several times over the last couple of years, and the service is top notch. Yes it's pricy, but you are paying for delicious food and a nice experience. On weeknights they usually have some kind of drink special (half off wine or half off vodka drinks, etc). Their steaks are very tasty, and I enjoyed their side of risotto so much that I order it every time I go back there. It can get a bit loud, but if you request a quiet table they will do their best to accommodate you.
(5)Jenell B.
Negative. Hanna's continues to serve Chilean Sea Bass on the menu.http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/trade/chile.pdf Although sea bass is not endangered, it is caught illegally in many cases. I hope Dave Hanna and other restaurant owners do their due diligence and know the fishes source.

One of the best, classiest O.C. restaurants around. And by class I don't mean fancy decor. Some quick vignettes: 1. Came for dinner a few nights ago and the wait was an hour so we told the hostess we'd come back another day. She gave us TWO $25 gift cards! Without a single negative word from us. 2. We came back a few days later, ate and wondered about two different desserts but ordered just the chocolate ganache cake. The waitress brought BOTH desserts; one on the house. And she said if we didn't like the cake, she'd take that off the bill. 3. Another time at lunch, said we were in a bit of a hurry. The waitress expedited the order and provided TOP-NOTCH service the entire time. This place is excellent; a class act. Period. Now on to the food: The calamari are excellent and very different from the usual deep-fried, thick-battered drivel you get everywhere else. The dipping sauces are the best part (restaurants, in my view, can be judged by their sauces). The burgers- though they sound mundane- are everything but. Meaty, rich, so-fresh-you-can-hear-the-moo, tasty, perfectly cooked. I love the stringy fries, and the yam fries are the most perfect I've had. My date had the Proper House salad (with goat cheese) which we both found excellent. The service was attentive without being obtrusive and, for all you males out there, Hanna's employs some very attractive (can I say hot without sounding sexist?) waitresses and hostesses. I'll leave it to others to rate the males- not my dept. The prime rib dip is fantabulous- the best dip I've had. All the salads are amazing and- a little tip- their new homemade Caesar dressing is TO SELL YOUR MOMMA FOR.The steaks absolutely rule, but not in that silly "ranch steakhouse" way. This is top-shelf beef here, folks. The menu here is dynamic, complex and interesting. This is not your grandpa's local joint. There is culinary sophistication here, tidbits of genius mixed in with a flair for presentation, fresh ingredients and a desire to please the customer. Hanna's is a perfect date place (and there is a bit of a cougar crowd on weekends, with the requisite 50-something guys driving Maserattis and well-plumped botox wives spending their exe's alimony.) Romantic it is, though kind of loud. Kudos for excellent food, service, ambiance and decor; all in the most unlikely restaurant-wasteland that is south county. My only complaints: they did away with live jazz on weekends (live jazz was an inspired touch), and the price is steep. Not crazy steep, but $70-80 for dinner with no alcohol. Lunch or dinner: you can't lose.

Celebrated the wife's birthday tonight at Hanna's and had a wonderful meal with drinks. This isn't our first time here, nor our last, and we've never had a bad meal here. We have a 5 star restaurant in our sleepy 'remote' city of RSM. If you've never tried Hanna's, I strongly encourage you to do so. Come on you snobby beach combers, come out to RSM and see what we've got going on out here. I know, I know, if you look at the RSM City website you'll mostly see chain restaurants, but Hanna's isn't one of them. I HATE chains and I think they do a disservice to the residents out here. This is the ONLY restaurant we'll frequent in RSM. Are you reading this RSM city officials? I'm sick of the big box retailers and chain restaurants you seem to have a love affair with. I'd really like to see you encourage more people like Dave Hanna to start a small business in RSM. None of those retailers and restaurant chains like BJ's, who you fawned over like a silly little girl going to a Justin Beiber concert, can produce a product as good as Hanna's. Now that I have that off my chest - check out Hanna's for a fantastic meal and an equally impressive wine list and bar.

I was at Hanna's the other day with my co workers for lunch and the restaurant was packed. Understandable as it is the holidays. Our server, who was a doll and I cannot recall her name, was so concerned that it was taking time for our meals to arrive (we were okay). A few minutes later the owner comes over and introduces himself and apologizes that it's taking so long and could he bring us a beverage? Cocktail? Appetizer? We thanked him and assured him it was quite alright, we understood. Our food arrives shortly after and OMG it was amazing!!!!!!! Our server presented my boss with a gift card because our meals "took so long" (they really didn't considering it was lunchtime, every holiday lunch group seemed to be there, and everyone is on the same lunch schedule). We enjoyed our amazing lunches and our server brought us an equally amazing dessert for being so understanding. I have never dined at a restaurant that was genuinely so concerned of their patrons. It's refreshing to know there are establishments out there run by owners who actually care about quality (employees, food, service). I will definitely be returning to Hanna's. Their food and their service is five star all the way. Thank you Hanna's for a great experience!
(5)Bob M.
Fantastic service and food! The kids loved watching the chefs prepare the food. I can't think of another dining experience where I received better service, including restaurants like Mastros or Flemmubfs

Upon celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary, we decided to stay local due to it landing in the middle of the week. We chose to go to Hanna's because of their "TO DIE FOR" Butter Cream Cake. When we first arrived, we were greeting my the hostess and sat us instantly. As we walked through the restaurant I felt like a celebrity. Every staff person we passed would greet us with a "hello or welcome" and a cheerful smile. Even the busy cooks paused to smile and welcome us to Hanna's. We were sat at a roomy booth and was again greeted with our very nice waitress. She stared off by taking our drink order and placing a fresh warm roll on each of our saucers and a side of soft whipped butter to share. We started off with the Pom Martini and the Ruby Red Grapefruit Martini with a sugar rim. Both were very refreshing and satisfying. Perfect way to start off our "DATE". I enjoyed it so much, I had to order one more Grapefruit martini and shared it with my husband. The waitress recommended their specials and which I was very pleased. I ordered the Hazelnut crusted Halibut which came with a cheesy/garlic Rossetti and long stem broccoli. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon with garlic mashed potatoes. He said his steak was cooked perfect, moist and tender; and the mashed potatoes were delicious; a perfect combination. My Halibut was absolutely mouth watering. Perfectly cooked; moist and flaky with a delicious outer crusty texture. The Rossetti was also super delicious; a perfect combination, along with long stem broccoli all layered so beautifully. The presentations of both were very appealing. After our meal, we order the very famous, Butter Cream cake. This cake is one that you will always remember. It is large enough to share between 3 - 4 people, after a meal. When presented, it comes in a small loaf on a rectangular platter, with raspberry drizzled on the platter, a scoop of home made vanilla ice cream and the warm butter cream loaf. The cake is so creamy and moist it just melts in your mouth. With the caramelized sugar crust on the bottom of the cake, the combination of the crunchy caramelized sugar and the warm butter cream cake is one experience you mouth will never forget. While enjoying our cake we both ordered a cappuccino to top off our celebration. Going to Hanna's was the perfect choice. It was a wonderful evening, we didn't feel rushed, and it was nice to feel as if we were being celebrated on an evening to be celebrated. Specially when we never informed any of the staff that we were there celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary. Great Job Hanna's! Keep up the great work and thank you for your warm hospitality.

I like coming here for lunch. The burgers are comparable to In-N-Out if not better some day. The fries are extremely large. I'm usually a happy camper here. +15% discount. =Done
(5)Karen S.
Delicious food, awesome service, great atmosphere! I don't mind paying $$$$ when all these elements are in place.
(5)Kristen H.
Our FAVE restaurant in the area and my go-to for birthdays, anniversaries and Valentine's, even business lunches. I love their wine selection, salads, steaks and more. The wait staff is hit or miss, but we've had MOSTLY positive experiences.
(5)Wendy S.
My husband and I went to Hanna's after our afternoon marriage ceremony and had a really terrific meal. We both had filet, we shared a lobster tail, and I had french fries, he had garlic mashers. We went at an odd time - between lunch and dinner - but they were incredibly nice to us and accommodating. Even though they were in the middle of setting up for dinner they brought us over STEAMING HOT RIGHT OUT OF THE OVEN rolls before out entrees came out.The steaks were cooked perfectly and we shared the lobster which was HUGE. The french fries and mashed potatoes were very tasty. We had 3 glasses of champagne. We were too full for dessert and when they brought the bill they COMPED ALL OF THE CHAMPS because we just got married. That was completely unexpected and we were really impressed by that generous gesture. The service was spot on and they were just so sweet to us. The chef even asked us how everything was and insisted we let him know if we needed anything more.
(5)R L.
Went in again today. I had an opportunity to speak with Dave, the owner and he is a great guy. The food was just fantastic. I tried the Ahi Salad. though its pricy, you can just taste the freshness.
(5)James K.
A wonderful, relaxing dining experience. With good service that said yes to all requests. It's less of a formal steakhouse and more of a place that serves a great steak. Food was wonderful with a well prepared steak, a clam-filled clam chowder and great sourdough roll. One of the Hannah family members greeted us at our table towards the end of the meal. Didn't give it five stars because there were a couple of forgotten requests which were quickly filled as it was a busy Friday evening. Would definitely go there again for a nice dinner with family and friends.
(4)Sandy P.
The service was excellent, Kevin who waited on us in the Davino Room was extremely attentive. The meal was significantly expensive and not worth what we paid ($150 inc tip without wine or cocktail is a bit on the pricey side). The Bone-In Ribeye was too well done and not very flavorful. It did not appear ton be near the 16 oz advertised (I've had 16 oz steaks in other fine restaurants). The lobster bisque was good and the warm butter cake dessert was superb.
(3)Aimee K.
So far, Best Meal of 2011! Oh my god. I have been here twice now and both times the food and service have been phenomenal. We've sat at the chef's counter both times because I like watching all the action happen. Plus Adrian, the executive chef, helps take care of you. You're always in good hands when the chef is right in front of you. We started with a simple grilled Caesar. Yum. and a side of Brussels sprouts which were delicious. Boyfriend particularly loves the filet skewers. Then chef was talking about this bacon gouda sauce he makes and gave us a little sample over some crispy fingerling potatoes. I think it should be an app. because I would have ordered 3 more. at least. Oh bacon gouda sauce how I love you so. Then for entrees I had the jidori rotisserie chicken and boyfriend had the filet. The chicken was retarded delicious. It felt off the bone in all of its juicy goodness right into my mouth. Pair it with creamy bacon cheddar mashed and grilled brocollinis. My mouth is watering even thinking about it. The filet was also amazing, paired with pomme frites that had a little kick of seasoning on them and boyfriend was a happy man. Then we ended the evening with a magical dessert, it was this Peanut Butter Chocolate mousse thing with salty pretzels on top. It was like a 5 star super-size peanut butter chocolate pretzel m&m. plus peanut butter and chocolate happens to be the best flavor combination ever. Add to it the sweet and salty combo and I'm yours forever. If you haven't been to Hanna's. Go. It's got to be one of the best restaurants in all of Orange County.
(5)David R.
I liked everything about this place. The food was great and the service was first class. I have been back a few times and highly recommend this place.
(4)M. B.
Girls' night out! Great martini menu and we started there - Sex & the City martini is the perfect balance, not too sweet and yummy! We shared the most amazing halibut special with risotto and a chanterelle reduction that has to be one of the most delicious dishes I have ever had! The service was friendly, personable and attentive, as always! Highly recommend reservations on weekend evenings!
(5)Suzie M.
Hanna's is one of the only nicer restaurants in RSM and the service and food are always spot on. We had a rehearsal dinner here in the new additional room they built...great ambiance as well. Highly recommend this spot and not too pricey!
(5)P Z.
Third time here was not a charm. Very busy Friday night, loud & crowded. OUr group of 6 was put on a table was in the wine room which seems to be only for large parties. Only 2 waitresses to handle 4 tables of 6 or more plus 2 4 tops. Service was very slow in all aspects. Water was served with no ice and cool at best. Wait staff was clearly overwhelmed. Food was mediocre - no one ate their entire meal. They even lost a side dish we ordered. When we asked about it took over 5 minutes to find out that they tried to deliver it to 4 different tables who didn't order it. Gave us dessert before we had utensils. Manager came by to apologize even though we never complained. Took us over 2 hours start to finish. Will never go back there on a Friday night for sure.

Place looked nice but my issue was i was called in for a interview form a guy name zack i believe and he herd about my prior experience at a known restaurant called The Playground were Chef Jason moved to create his own restaurant. Short said, Zack didn't like Jason and the interview wasn't about me and my experience. It was more about how much he didn't like him as a person or his accomplishments. Sad to say even the owner jumped in to bag on my Good Friend Jason. Found it kinda funny how they waisted not just my time but there own to show there immaturity as a known restaurant. Let me just say this, If The Playground would of open in RSM it would blow this joint out of business. Check it out for yourself.

Unbelievable service! What a great night at Hanna's! We had a free night away from the baby and made reservations for 8:15. They took a while to seat us so we enjoyed the patio and a cocktail- no issue.. Once we were seated a half hr later Dave Hanna (the owner) personally greeted us with an apology and a handshake, accompanied with an offer to buy us a bottle of wine for the trouble. In no way was I expecting this as were we upset with the wait. TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE DAVE! Dinner was amazing, appetizers were great and the servers were attentive but not overly so. This only reconfirmed our love for Hanna's! We will definitely be back soon. Thanks for a great experience.
(5)Sue W.
Hannas is a wonderful restaurtant! The service is among the finest I've encountered; it rivals some of the best 5-star hotels. They have an excellent wine list at very reasonable prices. The food is wonderful and is only rivaled by the staff's attentiveness. I highly recommend checking out this place.
(5)Wendy C.
I was excited to try the infamous Hanna's ... Wow was I disappointed. We were seated at the bar in full view of the grill. I ordered a ribeye medium rare. I watched at the "chef" poked and prodded the steak with an insta read thermometer. Yikes! The steak ended up past medium well on it's way to well done. Complete ruined. This place is definitely NOT a "steakhouse".
(2)Silly B.
Went for the first time because I live in RSM. WOW! The waitress made sure we had the best experience possible from explaining the awesome choices and making sure we had everything we needed. Once the food came we were blown away with the flavor and how fresh and enjoyable everything was. Would recommend for the special occasion or if you want to try something different or your in the mood for some good steak.
(5)Ken E.
If you want to pay 15 dollars for a salad be my guest! This isn't Beverly Hills. It's Rancho Santa Margarita,
(2)C. F.
I've been here quite a few times. Unfortunately, they are going downhill. My last three experiences have been pretty bad. The food is VERY BLAND! I know it's quite a hot spot for RSM, but really the food doesn't have much flavor. My service has been getting worse also. I had a girl named Stephanie, and although she was nice to my face, I overheard her talking bad about all of her customers. She also didn't serve our cocktails until AFTER we had our appetizers. I pefer to have food WITH my cocktail or before. Then she proceeded to spill have my drink across the table and didn't even offer a cocktail napkin to help to clean it up or apopogize. That even happened twice. I can overlook that, but the bland food I can't at those prices. My advice, go somewhere else and save your money. The chef there doesn't do the cooking and obviously doesn't taste whats going out to the customers. To expensive to keep trying and nothing's done about the tasteless food.
(2)Eric T.
Now this is a steak house! Really great food across the board, and creme brulee to die for! A really good atmosphere and the waiting staff is really good! great place to take the family, date, or mothers day!
(5)Bill M.
Hanna's is by far the best restaurant around the Mission Viejo, RSM, and Trabuco Canyon area. The food is special, the staff is always right on top of everything, and there are incredible weekday drink specials like Martini Monday, Wine Wednesday, Kettle Thursdays, etc. Dave Hanna, himself, is a fixture there and makes every guest feel like he is their host while still keeping on top of every detail. The atmosphere is part NY, part Portland somehow...don't ask me why. 5 stars.
(5)Lisa C.
Yes, must agree. Hanna's is the best meal in RSM. Great customer service, and consistently wonderful meals. Dave Hanna makes a personal effort to know his customers and is the ultimate in customer service. While it is a bit pricey - it is well worth it. You get top quality products and they aim to please.
(5)Jennifer B.
It's too bad this place is so far away from where I live...I'm never out there. I'd go here all the time if it wasn't! I went on a weeknight and it was still pretty packed. The service was wonderful- honestly one of the best servers i've had in the past few years! The porkchop was AMAZING. As was the lobster tail and jalapeno potatoes we ordered as a side. But the reason you should make the trip out here is for their BUTTERCAKE DESSERT!! Oh. My. Goodness. I have never had such a fabulous dessert. Even if everything else had sucked I'd go back just for that!.....plus you'll love the ambience. It's hip enough without being too trendy.
(5)Stephen P.
I pass by quite often but have only eaten there once. It was an "interview" dinner where I focused more on saying the right thing, acting the right way, instead of enjoying the food. But the food was hardly enjoyable. The filet was perfectly cooked, but otherwise tasteless. The "sauce" that smothered the steak did nothing to help. The side of zucchini was undercooked to the point of being half-raw. The food was already VERY disappointing, then the bar went ahead and added a lemon twist to an otherwise good glass of scotch. Ugh. [Edit] Upon reflection, I was WAAYYY too harsh in my initial assessment of Hanna's. The decor was good, atmosphere was great, and the servers were very friendly. Those alone warrant giving the restaurant more stars. That said, I think back to the food and drink and and sincerely hope those have gotten better since my initial review.
(3)Lynn L.
Service was great! Mark was very helpful and made recommendations on food and drinks, which were all to our satisfaction. The meats were prime and tender. The rib eye lollipop was a little bland but considering the choices of steak sauces, this was on purpose so as not to lose the meat's natural flavors all together. My husband tried the 10 oz filet, medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. A bit overpriced compared for it's location and setup but that's alright if you're having a good time. Place is getting too crowded and the owners must not have expected to be quite a success in the neighborhood. A few months ago, the 1000pt Opentable reward was for an entire week but now it's only Sundays to Tuesdays. Oh well...
(4)brittney W.
BEST PLACE EVER! Service is outstanding! We made reservations for our anniversary, and they greeted us by name when we arrived, the our server greeted us by name and wished us a happy anniversary, we were also given 2 glasses of complimentary champagne. Our server was able to describe the dishes in detail when we had questions about it. The meal that we had was AMAZING! The fish with risotto i was craving it for days. My hubby had 1 of their specials also so yummy! While we were eating the Executive Chef came and greeted us to make sure the food was good. We were then given complimentary dessert too! I HIGHLY recommend coming here for any special occasion and make sure that you make reservations!
(5)Steve J.
Good food and perhaps the friendliest service around. Nice, fairly priced wine list, with wine dinners. It's loud and vibrant in the bar - ask for the "red carpet" if you want a quieter experience. The 10 oz Filet was perfectly prepared, and the Margarita was outstanding. It's become a go-to place in the community, so make a reservation well in advance.
(4)JG F.
We decided to give this a try since we are dining in the RSM Area. Service and ambiance was great. Decor upscale. Very noisy and a lot of cussing was present this night, not an upscale crowd. Ordered a Rib Eye Steak and was very disappointed. At Medium Rare it was dry tough and flavorless. I understand why they serve it with steak sauce. Potato selection was limited to mashed and fries. Had the mashed and they were runny. When I asked why they don''t have baked potatoes like ALL REAL Steak houses offer, I was told I could call 45 minutes ahead to order one. For 45 minutes I can drive further to Ruth Chris or Mastro's to get a better quality product for the same price. For the price and quality for dining in RSM, the Embarcadero offers a better steak at less the price!
(3)Roland D.
This is the best place in RSM for fine dining in a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere. The food is the best I've had, and the staff and owner are friendly and extremely good. They've got a great wine selection and have wine events, too! Great stuff!
(5)Chris L.
One of the Best steakhouse I've ever been to and probably my current favorite in orange county. Morton's, Mastro's, Fleming's...yea yea... don't get me wrong they are very good as they should be with the prices. But I think they rely on their name too much sometimes and forget about customer service and quality. Everything at Hanna's was on point. Customer service first. I showed up 5 minutes early for the reservation was greeted with great attitudes and smiles and was seated promptly. Our server Stephanie S. was very attentive, extremely nice and definitely knowledgeable on the whole menu as if she had made it herself. Now on to the food....perfect. Everything came out in a timely fashion, in order and with all the adjustments perfect. They were very very accommodating to my girlfriends gluten free requirements, willing to make just about anything they could gluten free. My girlfriend had the halibut special, i didnt try but she said it was delicious. I ordered The 16oz. bone-in ribeye medium rare oscar style(that's lump crab meat and grilled asparagus with bernaise over your steak :-D ) with veggies and the black truffle mac n cheese...all I can say is WOW!!!! Steak was perfect, literally perfect... well marbled cooked just right, great temperature veggies not overcooked like most places or over/underseasoned. Mac n Cheese...my favorite mac n cheese ever... i loooove mac n cheese and Hanna's Nailed it.not all runny and not too dry and stringy... tons of cheese and tons of flavor. Dessert was great too creme brulee which was a nice size and a wam butter cake that is sooo simple but sooooo delicious. gotta try warm butter cake.

One of our favorite restaurants. We try to go about once a month and drive about 40 miles to get there. It is well worth it! Very personable, attentive service not to mention delicious food. The menu is always changing and we are proud to refer friends and business associates. We enjoying eating in the bar and socializing over a bottle of wine selected from an extensive list on an iPad. Fun and relaxing! Thank you!

One of the best restaurants in Orange County. I love all the appetizers, particularly the grilled artichoke, ahi tower, and lobster spring rolls. Dave's Vegas wrap is my favorite lunch entrée; it is absolutely phenomenal. And the service here is second to none.

Took my girlfriend there for her 18th birthday. I had reserved a table on open table and told them it was her bday. We got seated and our waitress said happy birthday. My gf was shocked. Our service was top notch from when we walked in to when we walked out. Our food was so good! My girl and I had food babies. She got the filet mignon with mash and I got the Sirloin with fries. We both would get our meals again. Dave Hanna the owner was there and thanked us for coming in. How cool! They gave my girlfriend gelato and the extremely yummy butter cake on the house for her birthday. This place deserves 5 stars. A place to go to when you want really good food, service, and atmosphere. Our meals with lemonades (Since we are both under 21:( ) came out to only 67.50. Not bad. Men take your girlfriend/wife here they will appreciate it!!

My BFF took me out for my birthday... I wanted wine, she wanted a steak--neither of us had been to Hanna's... we happened to go on Wine Wednesday (good deals)! We had the calamari appetizer (thick steaks, not pieces), beet & arugula salad (crisp, sweet, yummy), black peppercorn crusted filet mignon (cooked perfectly!!), black truffle mac n' cheese (so rich, so good), we could barely finish the awesome Espresso & Kahlua Crème Brûlée!! Our server was so nice and split the entire meal, plated beautifully for each of us... had we ordered all the food individually, we wouldn't have had room for dessert--thank you Hanna's for a perfect Bday dinner, it was delicious and we will definitely be back!!

Pricey for sure, BUT. The food is served abundantly and is very tasty. The real standout is the service! The waitress was knowledgeable, friendly and very attending. Others on the staff made an effort to ask if things were good and insured we had all our needs met. Food is served without undo waiting even though the place was packed. You know when you walk up and some jumps to open the door and greet you that they care. Ambience is nice, informal and busy with a lot of conversations, not intimate. Go hungry and expect outstanding service!

By far the BEST!!! restaurant in RSM. The service, food, and ambience were great. Thanks Hanna's, for keeping class in the neighborhood. Jessica was great

My wonderful girlfriends threw a surprise party for me...I had never been to Hanna's. Food was good, drinks were good and service was exceptional. I neglected to get the name of our server -- but she was polished and professional. They all were. We had three appetizers (Ahi tower, edamame, calamari) first two were excellent, calamari was fresh but nothing special. I split a Crunchy Chicken Salad & Chicken sandwich with one of my friends - the sandwich was served on grilled flatbread w/avocado and was excellent...as good as Grand Luxe. Salad was good but would have been better on hearts of romaine. Both lunches came already split and portioned for us - I REALLY appreciate this extra step...it says a lot about the server who never faltered for even a second. One pal had a hamburger - which she devoured..she asked for it "protein-style" and was thrilled with how over-the-top it looked and tasted. They seem genuinely pleased to do it "your" way and get it right the first time. I love that! After lunch a bit of dessert was adorned with candles and brought to the table. It was a very dense, very moist butter cake that we all thought delicious... Will definitely be back to try something new, but for now I cannot get the chicken sandwich out of my head!

I give nothing but 5 stars to this local neighborhood restaurant. It IS a bit pricey, but they have FREE Corkage so you can bring your own bottle and enjoy. They even decant it for you. We went in last night and ordered the cheeseburger (yes. they have a cheeseburger) and short ribs. The ribs had a ginger rub, were cold and overcooked and weren't my hubby's favorite. This is the FIRST time we've had something there we don't like. The waitress took them back no problem with many apologies and compped him for another menu item. Later in the meal, the owner visited our table, offered us a free desert and told us they were considering taking the ribs off the menu because of the complexity of getting them "right." They really took our criticism seriously. I'm sure we weren't the first to complain. As far as I'm concerned, they went WAAAAY above and beyond what they needed to in order to make sure we stayed happy, repeat customers. If you're in the area and want an upscale meal with FREE Corkage without having to travel on the dreaded freeways, check out Hanna's. I suggest a reservation. Almost forgot - If you have the Entertainment Book for South Orange County, there is a coupon for buy one get one free entree up to $15. They also regularly have coupons in the coupon mailers for $10 off $50 or more.

Great Food! Great Quality! Great Service! I've had lunch and dinner there a couple of times and every time I go they open the door for me when I walk up. Everyone is so nice and friendly.

$6 martini Monday's! Hubby and I set out for quick date night and were surprised by this deal. Bartender was great, drinks were strong and the sliders were divine! Spent less than $50 and got home just in time to put the kids to bed! Great food, drinks and atmosphere!

Hanna's is a pretty special place. They are the only primesteak house in the area and the bone-in ribeye and chilean seabass is amazing. They usually have nightly speacials which are also worth trying! Though their food is really good, what sets this restaurant apart from the rest is their service!! You can tell the staff loves what they do and really believes in the mission of the restaurant! Great weekly drink specials and a cool vibe. This is a must try. If you are planning on going on the weekend make sure you call for a reservation.

After reading the other reviews I guess we must either have very high standards or we got Hannas on a bad night. We went with my In laws on a Wednesday night and were seated outside on the patio. Maybe that was the problem but our wait staff were not attentive to us at all. Not the hallmark of a 5 star restaurant and a pain in the butt when dining with small children! The adult food was okay but my real issue was the kids food, it was downright awful. In fact inedible. My sons chicken strips were so overcooked that they had dehydrated to the point of almost becoming dust. We would've mentioned this to the wait staff but did I mention that we would have had more hope of spotting Lord Lucan? I get that it is pitched as a high end restaurant but it has a kids menu so I assumed it catered to children. If you can't be bothered to make an effort to put good quality food on their plates it just reflects badly on the whole restaurant for me. Somewhat pretentious I thought.

We had our family celebration at Hanna's Restaurant in December and our experience was absolutely amazing. We hosted a private dinner for 30 guests and 17 children in their new outside patio area. Chef Sean worked with me on the menu and details of the event. He is extremely professional and truly talented. The details to every part of our event was successfully orchestrated by him and executed by his wonderful staff. My guests left happy, delighted and talking about how amazing the food, the service, the atmosphere and just overall experience. The food is stellar and the best from the appetizers, to the soup to the entrees of filet to pork chops to the delicious desserts. Everything Hanna offered us on top of staying below our budget is just remarkable. Your staff is one of the most professional staff we have ever experienced. We have hosted personally and professionally events at many five star hotels and what you offered us has been the best.

I think the best way for me to sum up this restaurant is by saying its good, but not great. Really below average and not worth it for the cost at all! Nothing will wow you on the menu to be honest. This is how our night went (table for 2): The service we received by our waitress was, and not to be drastic about this, pretty god damn amazing. She was very polite, had excellent knowledge of the food and how it was prepared, and she was quick on the drink orders as well. That's about all the greatness you will see out of this place unfortunately, other than my pretty darn good $6 margarita. The food. We had ordered the Lobster Spring Rolls as an appetizer to share. The food came out relatively quickly, obviously they had to fire up the spring rolls, they weren't pre-made. When they arrived they were absolutely piping hot, which isn't necessarily a problem, it just took some time for them to cool down before devouring them. The sauce that comes with them is all wrong. I'm not sure how to even explain it, but it wasn't very appealing in terms of the texture (which is syrup/honey like), and the flavor which really wasn't all there. Inside the spring rolls, there was something that I couldn't put my finger on but was very bitter and very unappealing. Entrees. We had ordered a 6oz Fillet for the lady, and a crusted pork chop for me. We had noticed while in the middle of our spring roll endeavor that our entrees had been sitting under the heat lamp for a good 5 minutes or so. When they had arrived at our table, the fillet she had was overcooked pretty good. Steak was supposed to be prepared medium, and it arrived more medium well to well done. Though I don't normally get picky on something like this most of the time, at a place that says it's a steakhouse, you're darn sure I'll be picky. The pork chop I had had to be re-fired as well as the filet which is the correct thing to do if one entree isn't done correctly, so my respects to the management for doing that. Unfortunately, the pork chop wasn't anything special. It was overcooked, only being moist and tender in the middle near the bone, and really quite dry on the outsides. There isn't enough sauce on the plate to counter act this either. Green beans were alright, nothing special, but the potatoes on the plate, were pretty phenomenal, they were very fresh and very tasty. Dessert. Once again, nothing special, not really inspired at all to be honest like the rest of the food. Espresso creme brulee wasn't done properly. Being the creme brulee sommelier that I am (I order every creme brulee I see off any menu since the age of 10), the custard was decent, but not really the right temperature, it was too warm. The sugar crust on top wasn't even fired all the way, some of the corners on the dish were actually just sugar, there wasn't a crust! Obviously a big no-no, and any frenchman who saw a creme brulee like this, would probably throw the dish back at you. The lady had a chocolate cake that was dry, and uneventful to be plain and simple. It came with ice cream, that I didn't taste but looked like it could have possibly been store bought. Dry cake, and ice cream sure over turns the dryness of the cake, but I mean comon, make a good moist cake for gods sake. Unfortunately due to the prices of the restaurant, and the quality of the food, I highly HIGHLY doubt I will be coming back here. For a total around $120 before tip, I'd rather take it to Stubriks in Fullerton for HALF the price including MORE drinks.

Another neighborhood favorite! We got the reservation and asked about corkage. There is no corkage! YEAY!!! We arrived a few minutes late, but they still took us. The waiter was very knowledgeable on the menu and even complimented our wine choice. Food was great, service was great and I would recomend it as a great celebraton spot, as the prices are a little high. BUUUUUUUUUUT, if you come back with your receipt, you get a discount on your sunday brunch. AND they have a well priced happy hour.

My husband brought me here for my birthday dinner and it was fabulous! The staff is excellent and the food was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant.

I'm sorry, but don't get the high ratings for this place. Food is average and you pay way too much for what you get. Maybe it's just trendy.

I've driven by several times but never dined here until last night. Great service, food and drinks. I had the bone in fillet and baked potato that came with all garnishments on the side. The martinis were good as was the kailua creme brûlée. We will be returning again.

Outstanding service, quality / quantity of the food and great selection of wines and dessert. Yes, it is high priced. However, I tend to believe it is worth it.

I believe there is good potential here but the overall experience was not up to expectations. The service is very good with the wait staff being professional, responsive, well trained and knowledgeable. The problem with Hanna's is the food, which negates any of the positive aspects. My iceberg salad was drowned in dressing which made it less than good, my gin and tonic was weak, my sea bass was also drowned in sauce over potatoes and garnish prepared with way too much salt and butter, and my "lava cake" was not a lava cake but just a small dry piece of chocolate cake. Pro: Good staff Con: Mediocre food

Absolutely fantastic food and service! For me, it is a real treat to come here. I REALLY wish the restaurant was larger though; on a Friday or Saturday night it is packed and basically you can only eat here if you have a reservation. The only other negative is that it is very expensive, but you really are getting what you pay for.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Hanna's. This was our first time and I can't wait to return. We started with the cheese and charcuterie tray, lobster springs rolls, cuccumber and tomato salad. I had the bone in rib eye and my husband had the halibut. Our friends had the pork chop special and the lobster mac n cheese. I tried everything and it was all delicious. The Owner is a very pleasant man and our waitress was the best EVER. She was able to explain in detail everything on the menu and was happy to make suggestions. Be sure to ask for Danielle's table!

Just moved to the Rancho Santa Margarita area and Hanna's will be my spot! Perfect place to have a drink or an upscale place to bring a date for dinner. The prices are a little hight, but the quality of the food is awesome! The bar area has multiple HD flat screens and smaller ones along the bar so its almost like having your own flat screen to watch the game. The atmosphere is modern and upscale but relaxed. Daily drink specials run from open to close, so need for a happy hour! Immediately impressed with the service and friendliness of the bartenders; they'll go out of their way to welcome you and ensure you return.

The best restaurant in Rancho Santa Margarita. Remember this is in a neighborhood of Target store type people, so what is expensive to them is an average price to anyone else. Actually quite moderate prices and they change their menu fairly often. They offer Prime steaks, something that not many restaurants do.
