Great food! Love this place for weekend breakfast! The man and I eat here pretty regularly. The portion sizes are large, and everything seems very fresh. The staff is friendly and attentive. The seating is limited, as the restaurant is small. So if you're getting there after 10, it tends to get busy, and there is usually a short(ish) wait (depends on party size). If you're in a rush or have a bigger party, I'd suggest to go earlier. I've had their breakfast croissant, strawberry banana waffle, home fries, scramble, omelette, and probably a few other things. Everything I've had has been great!

Orange Café is located off Tustin and Mayfair. It is in a very small plaza, so don't blink or you will miss it. The place is small, but does fit quite a bit of tables inside. They probably had about eight tables that seated four, and about four tables that seated two, and two to three tables outside that seat four. I could be wrong on the count, but you get the point. It does get packed, so if you are up early, go early. I believe they opened at seven when we went on a Sunday. We arrived closed to 8:30 and it was packed and full with people waiting outside by nine. I already had my heart set on their gourmet omelet due to pictures on Yelp. I decided to make it an egg white gourmet omelet. It came with mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese, avocado, and sour cream and spouts on top. I chose to make fresh fruit my side option and squaw as my toast of choice. I have to take advantage of squaw bread as a lot of places either don't have it or mention it. I loved that their fruit was not canned fruit or just cantaloupe with honeydew. I know there was some cantaloupe, watermelon, apples, grapes, bananas, raspberries, and blackberries. The bread was soft and moist. The omelet was good too. I ate half and took the other home. I am not a huge omelet person besides at one place I visit in Cerritos. It was still good though. Plus, my appetite was MIA again. It seems to have been a pattern for the last month at our weekly breakfast trips. My husband had his heart set on something else. (I don't remember what exactly), but had to regretfully change his mind because they could not substitute ham with bacon. I never saw that happen before. He ended up with the crème brulee French toast combo which also came with eggs and his choice of bacon or sausage. Once again he felt that the eggs tasted like Denny's. I am not sure what is up with that lately. Luckily he really loved his dish. I think to be safe with me and my appetite, and also the fact that the pictures looked appealing, that I may have to try a fruit waffle next time. I know they have a strawberry banana waffle and a berry waffle as well as a few others. It's a cute, small, quaint little place that seems to be quite popular. I will definitely be back to try other options.

This is little diner has awesome breakfast. It was pretty busy on Sunday but the wait wasn't too bad. Everything that was coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. But I had to get the crab cake eggs Benedict. I love eggs Benedict but crab cake eggs Benedict is even better. The crab cakes are very big I could only eat one of them. The eggs were nice and runny the hash-browns were cooked perfectly crispy on the outside while being soft and fluffy on the inside. The staff was super nice and very attentive. I have to go back to try another dish. I love breakfast of course, cause of the eggs. ;)

We had breakfast here last week and really enjoyed everything! We had a waffle and an egg breakfast. Waffle was delicious!!! Great little hole in the wall diner. Can't wait to go back!

In our ever ending search for quality breakfast eats, this week's choice was The Orange Café. The morning started off a bit rough as my map app on my phone was having trouble pinpointing our location and had us turn the wrong direction off the freeway before quickly recalculating itself. We turned around and arrived around 8:45. Luckily for us they had plenty of open tables available and we quickly took a seat and our drink order was promptly taken. I would recommend arriving prior to 9am as this place got pretty busy by the time we left and by 9:30 they had several groups of people waiting for tables outside. Having done a bit of homework on the place prior to our visit I knew I wanted one of two things for breakfast, the Denver omelet pancakes or the crème brulee French toast. I looked over the board of specials lining the wall as well as the menu and did not see the crème brulee French toast anywhere so this made my decision clear. As I attempted to order the Denver omelet pancakes with bacon instead of ham (I am not a ham lover), I was told that this was not possible as the meat and other ingredients were already together. This threw me for a bit of a loop as I have never had any issues substituting for bacon before and how this wasn't possible here is still a bit unclear to me. It was just prior to this that my wife found a second specials board located on the far wall behind me that had my crème brulee French toast listed so I went with this instead. Why they have different boards on opposite sides is beyond me as I do not have eyes in the back of my head to read this board but perhaps a specials sign located near the door or a printed daily specials menu or table tent would be a better way to go. My wife went with the specialty omelet with egg whites and seemed to like it despite her complete lack of appetite and half of her meal was brought home with us for later consumption. The crème brulee French toast came with 4 pieces and was perfectly cooked. The crème brulee topping was sweet but not too sweet and really elevated the flavors of the dish although a bit of syrup was still needed in my opinion. The French toast was reasonably priced and also came with 2 eggs as well as bacon or sausage and was quite filling. The service here was friendly and the food was delicious and came out quickly. I understand places get busy but the one thing that irritated me was allowing those waiting for a table to open up, to stand in the middle of the floor inside between tables as this is quite distracting to the other patrons. This is something I am seeing more and more and it creates this unnerving sense of urgency to finish my meal as they continue to stare down each patron, it can be quite an uncomfortable feeling. Most of the people waited outside so this wasn't a huge issue but there was a few who claimed it was cold and hung out inside without taking a seat at the unused stools at the counter top near the registers. Overall this place was another great breakfast win in my book and despite a couple of minor flaws is definitely a place I would visit again. I highly recommend the crème brulee French toast if it's on special as this was unique and quite filling. The prices are reasonable on most items, the service was friendly and the food is good and comes out quick. I will be back again soon.

I had breakfast here with Keen B and Sheryl P. It was such a cute cafe with friendly service. I got my default order. Sausage benedict with hash browns, really yummy and good portions. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the mixed fruit because it had pineapple and kiwi in it. I support this cafe!

Was visiting a friend in Irvine and wanted to grab some brunch before going out and about for the rest of the day. I found Orange Cafe on Yelp - good reviews, lots of different options, and nearby - PERFECT! This is definitely a little mom and pop shop (the best brunch places are in my opinion), which I was happy about since I like to support local small businesses. I decided on their 'gourmet omelette' which had tomatoes, cheddar, mushrooms, avocado, bean sprouts, and sour cream (I opted for no sour cream). Along with house potatoes with peppers and onions and rye toast. The portions are huge - they gave us each four slices of buttered bread. But what is brunch if not a gluttonous meal? At least.. it always is for me... Anyways - the omelette was really good (moist and cooked well), and the potatoes were fried diced spuds with some sauted green peppers and onions. Everything tasted really good after a little salt and some tabasco (I put that on all breakfast foods). The service was also really great - just one waitress working when we went on a Monday, she was nevertheless incredibly friendly and always there to refill our waters and coffees. Overall I would highly recommend Orange Cafe to anyone in the area looking for a solid brunch spot.

We tried Orange Cafe for the first time the other day and it was soooo good. Wasn't sure what to expect of this place. I drive by here so often didn't think of it much since it's open only for breakfast and lunch but my daughter wanted to try it and I'm so happy we did. We will definitely be coming back here soon. The food was fresh. The service was awesome. The one server that was there had like 6 tables but she still kicked ass. Just writing this review makes me hungry. I will probably call in my order for next time since I noticed a lot of people were doing that.
(5)Christine C.
My boyfriend and I were in the area and decided to try this brunch spot out. Soo glad we did!! This place is legit and is a hole in the wall. We ordered the crab Benedict and creme brûlée French toast. Both were amazing! The only downfall was there was one lady doing all the work! Unfortunately I didn't get her name, but she was so sweet! She was running around everywhere serving and taking orders from about 8-10 tables by herself, but she still managed to bring everything out in a timely manner. Big props to her! We will definitely be coming back.
(5)Rudy M.
Best breakfast in town. Eggs Benedict or Crete brûlée waffles is the best. I've been there several times and never disappoints. Definitely recommended
(5)Brad H.
Community Café. yummy breakfast with crispy Home fries done the right way. A little small inside but I could see them punching out a wall and taking over the junk store next door.. The quiche is outstanding

The food is awesome and the service too! The owners are friendly and treats you like they've known you for a long time! Great customer service! The food is soooooooooooooooo good! Pleasing to the eye and the tummy!

Just had breakfast with my husband here. It seems to be a pretty popular joint. Place was packed and people kept coming in to put their names down. Luckily, we beat the rush and we were seated in 5 minutes. This place is your typical diner type of place. No fancy stuff, just large servings of good ole American breakfast. I got the corned beef hash and eggs with home fries (with peppers and onions). I love corned beef hash, so if the place has it, I'll get it. I got my eggs over easy. My eggs were perfectly cooked! I mean they were really good! My home fries were also perfectly hot and crispy on the outside and soft and potato-y on the inside. My corned beef hash was good. A tad too mushy on the inside- I like it when I can taste the different textures of the meat and potatoes-but that is a personal preference. I know many restaurants cook it where it's all mashed together, like here. So, although it wasn't cooked the way I usually like it, I'm sure a lot of people would find it good! My husband got the bacon and cheese omelette with hash browns. Both the omelette and hash browns were also cooked nicely. He devoured it, so I know he also enjoyed his breakfast. Service was great!! Our server was very friendly and on it!! We will be back.

Sunday breakfast could not have been better. This place is one of a kind. I ordered the classic breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon , home fries and toast. Everything is fresh, and the taste is just homemade. I can't get enough of this place! Going back as soon as I can. I love local spots like this.
(5)Vivian H.
I came here for brunch on a weekday with my friends and was happy with our choice! The portions are huge and the food was delicious! I got the strawberry stuffed French Toast which came with two eggs and bacon The french toast was amazing!!! The inside was filled with strawberries and some vanilla cream which made it even better! The waitress was extremely nice and charismatic! I am definitely coming back!
(4)Bernard P.
One of the best breakfast joints I've been to. Highly recommend the crab cakes Benedict! One of the most unique and delicious dishes I've tried! Also potato pancakes are amazing!! Love this place!!!
(5)Marina Q.
I didn't get to try it! But you should know it's closed at the moment. It must be family owned, because they are taking a vacation from August 24 through August 28, 2015. It will reopen Saturday August 29, 2015

"Side of the road diners" are always a gamble. Either you experience a delightful homelike styled cooked meal or end up being highly disappointed and unsatisfied. Orange Cafe turned out to be... Definitely one of those breakfast joints your taste buds will never forget. Everything about this cafe exceeded my normal expectations for such a small diner like this. The waitress I had made my visit here so enjoyable. She must have refilled my drink three times! Not only was she very attentive, she was also funny. It's a plus when a customer can get a server who is professional but also laid back enough to make you feel welcomed. She made sure that my friend and I were given the best service possible. I don't know what else to say about the food besides it was delicious. It was like one of those things you can't explain, you just have to try it to understand. The Gourmet Omelette was amazing although it had a surprising ingredient I've never experienced with an omelette before. The twist was that is was sprouts! Yes, sprouts! I've only ever experienced it on sandwiches so that's why it was a surprise for me. The sprouts just added more character to the eggs, cheese, tomatoes, onions, avocado, and sour cream! Each combo comes with your choice of bread (white, wheat, rye, an English muffin, or a biscuit). You also get a side of either fresh fruit, hash browns, or home fries. I loved that they weren't cheap when it came to their fruit bowl. Usually places will serve one or two different fruits but not Orange Cafe. Their fresh fruit consisted of apples, pineapple, grapes, bananas, kiwi, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries. If they could put so much effort into such a small dish, then just imagine how their breakfast is! Orange Cafe was excellent in service and food! I would consider this place as bookmark worthy if you have never been. One of the best breakfast places I've been to in a long time. Completely pleased.
(5)Jake M.
This place has great food and a wonderful staff. Their breakfast is worth a trip in itself.

This was our 3rd visit to Orange Cafe and we have yet to find anything we dislike. I love the waitress gal and today we ordered the Jr Panda Pancakes which was the cutest breakfast I have ever seen! I hear it can get pretty busy but we always manage to miss the rush. I will definitely recommend Orange Cafe to others!
(5)Cathy K.
My boyfriend showed me this place couple months ago, and I absolutely love this breakfast place. It's a small spot, but it is very clean and the people who work there are friendly. It makes your morning brighter :) We have tried some omelets, breakfast croissants, but I personally prefer their eggs benedict! They have different kinds, which I can't wait to try. Great place for family, date, whatever.

First time here this morning, came with parents, my dad had the belgian waffle with strawberries and me and my mom had the florentine scramble with a side of fruit. We loved it all. Deffinetly recommend coming in and trying it out! Can't wait to come back!
(5)Araceli A.
We've been waiting two hours for our food to arrive extremely ridiculous !!!! Waiter messed our order up n someone came with onion rings.... We don't even like onion rings!!!
(1)Margo D.
If you love breakfast without all the frills, bells and whistles I recommend coming here! There's nothing more that I love than breakfast at a mom and pop joint and by the amount of people there early on a Saturday morning they do too! When we got there, there were a few empty tables outside but packed inside. If it wasn't chilly we would've gladly ate outside but opted to wait for a table inside which was actually only about 5 mins. Once we were seated our drink orders were taken and our server (I didn't get her name) was efficient! As she was walking away my friend also said he wanted orange juice and we all assumed she didn't hear him but she did and we were impressed. Now to the food, we all ordered something different so we can sample off each other's plates because that's what friends do! Two in the group ordered the specials, they're located written on the chalkboards hanging on the wall so make sure to pay attention when you go in so you don't miss what they have. One ordered the Crème Brule French toast and the other ordered the Pecan Pancakes, both were really good and rich! I love anything pumpkin so the pancakes were definitely my favorite out of the two. I ordered the Orange Café special which was a chicken fried steak in between a homemade biscuit and smothered in gravy with a side of hash browns, and whoa mama! I try to healthy all the time but this I broke my diet for and was worth it, I'm usually not a fan of gravy but this was actually pretty good, the steak wasn't dry and the biscuit was fluffy, however, my favorite were the hash browns, they were crispy and golden just the way I like them. My other friend ordered the eggs benedict which he said were really good but the home-style potatoes were even better. Even though they were super busy and seemed like there was only one waitress was working service was good and our coffees were always getting refilled. I think I found my new favorite breakfast place in orange.

Crabcakes Benedict = amazing! We came here for the first time yesterday and had to come back today. Service is great too. Highly recommend this place!
(5)Donna B.
We love Orange Cafe. The food is always good and creative too. The staff is friendly and the owner always remembers her customers. I love their potatoes, chicken fried steak, pancakes are awesome. And recently requested eggs florentine and of course they made it for me with fresh spinach and bacon!! It's the best. Good quiche too. Only down side is its popular so finding a time in between the crowds is your challenge.
(4)Lindsey G.
I love this breakfast place! The food is wonderful, it's not expensive and the staff is very attentive. The decor around the restaurant is fun and thematic and it doesn't usually take long to be seated, even with a big crowd outside. I love getting their breakfasts with egg and potatoes, but their omelettes are wonderful too!
(5)Joanne L.
I came in here with a couple friends, before heading out to sixflags, on a Friday morning. It wasn't busy at all and it was a nice and sunny day to sit outside. The parking lot is a little small... But we didn't have trouble finding parking since it wasn't crowded. This cafe reminds me of a little mom and pop shop. I love and will always support them!! Service I wish I remember our waitress's name.. But I don't ugh! She had impeccable service and very nice! It's nice to see someone that loves their job and was genuinely smiling and talking to us. She was Asian and was maybe in her early 30's? Idk but she helped us out with the menu and answered all of our questions! Food: I wanted to try something different so I had the country breakfast? It's like an eggs Benedict but southern style, so with gravy instead. It came with an option of hash browns or home fries. I chose the home fries bc it came with bell pepper! The food came out and it was delicious but I got tired of it really fast. I finished only half? The home fries were really tasty and good! I loved the addition of bell peppers. A lot of restaurants don't do that nowadays. Overall I would definitely come back if I was in the area!
(5)Jen L.
I LOVE this cute little breakfast spot! Really cute, clean and you will never walk out smelling like grease! It's tucked away behind a KFC in a small little strip mall. Blink and you will definitely miss it! Be forewarned it does get busy on weekends so there may be a wait. There are about 9 or so tables inside and maybe 3 or 4 patio tables? All of the servers have always been super sweet and nice. They serve both breakfast and lunch but I can't see myself getting anything else here besides morning grub. I am in love with the Chicken Fried Steak and the Eggs Benedict. YUM. The Chicken Fried Steak is cooked perfectly, large, and comes with eggs, hash browns and toast. The portions here are COLOSSAL. I promised myself I would try the waffles and french toast here next time... oh! I have tried the pancakes and they are pretty darn good as well! So far I haven't had a bad experience! And for those that are on the healthy side, they offer quite a few of healthy, veggie items too!

We woke up early today, so I decided it'll be nice to grab some breakfast. We originally found flappy jack, but boy was that place full! Parking looked like it was impossible so we searched for plan B. Found Orange cafe not too far away and it was a cute mom and pop shop. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived at noon, but nothing too crazy. Once seated we ordered the crab Benedict and gourmet omelet (tomato, mushroom, avocado and sprouts). I was so tempted to order the creme brûlée French toast, but I had to stop myself since my eyes are always bigger than my stomach. The wait for the food was a bit long, but the waitress said that there was a rush and everyone ordered at once. She gave us some banana and crackers as we waited. Food arrived and it looked delicious. The home fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the way I like it. The omelet was filled with cheddar cheese which was a bit much. I really like the sprouts on top but didn't feel like the omelet was anything special. My fiancé was disappointed by the crab Benedict since he thought it would be real crab meat, instead it was imitation crab. They probably should have put that on the menu description. First time trying this place we were a bit disappointed, but I feel like it was what we ordered. We'll probably be back to give it a second go.

I was in the area & starving for some good eats so I yelped and found this place and as I looked at many places this one caught my eye as I read the post & looked at the pictures one picture got my full attention it was the creme brulee french toast it looked good! So after looking at that picture I wanted it bad! So I had to get there asap! this place was easy to find it's located in a small Plaza I had made it there its pretty kool there is seating outside & inside so as I walked into the restaurant it smelled wonderful my taste buds were buzzing it was every man/woman for them selfs it's seat your self. My waitress comes over & I already know what I want and what brought me here it was the creme brulee french toast it comes with 2 eggs 2 bacon or sausage, but me personal I don't care for eggs so for an extra $1.50 you are able to substitute for homefried potatoes so when my food came to the table it was hot so I picked up my fork & I took my 1st bite my taste buds didn't know what had hit them and my tummy was like wow send more food down here Please! This has to be hands down the best damn breakfast I ever had the creme brulee french toast was like nothing I ever ate it was magnificent it was something straight out of 5 star restaurant with out the hefty price tag the homefried potatoes were delicious they had onions & bell peppers yum & the sausage was a bit spicy just the way I like it the flavor was amazing & the size was not like a regular standard size sausage. I can't wait to come back & try some other menu items. So if your ever in the area & want some awesome breakfast & you love creme brulee than you should come check this place out and as always don't take my word for it try it for your self you won't be disappointed.
(5)Karen N.
Sitting at the corner table inside the restaurant as I type! I'm a regular here who always gets the Crabcakes Eggs Benedict but I was feeling dangerous today. I got the Eggs Benedict and substituted ham for bacon. Best. Decision. Ever.
(5)Jim C.
This is a review of a past visit...we went by on a Sunday and it was pretty packed, so we decided to go somewhere else that time...but this is a really good cafe! Wife and I have only been here for breakfasts, but we have never had a bad meal (we've been here a few times). The home fries are a must-have (imo)! Fried cubes of potatoes (optional onions and peppers) are like chunky hash browns that are brown on ALL sides (don't you hate when you get hash browns that are only browned on one side?). I can't recall exactly what we've ordered in the past, but like I said...every meal has been good. Give them a try! We'll definitely be back.
(4)M L.
Came here at 10:45am with my Husband and Daughter. They were full with not many tables. Only one waitress. ONE. Needless to say, we were ignored and had to leave to find somewhere else to enjoy breakfast.
(1)Wendy C.
Lisa & I just came here for lunch! Our sandwiched were SO good! We will be coming back regularly!
(5)Tam L.
I can't believe it had been 3 years since I've been back here. Same staff same patrons. It's like time stood still for this little Mom and Pop diner. Now it's one of my favorite breakfast spots. Their sourdough bread wasn't as great this time around but my new favorite menu item is their home fries. It's one of if not the best.
(4)Christian R.
I've come to this place several times now and it never fails to dissapoint, very petite place with a classical vibe. Every dish I have ordered has left me astounded at how this little place can be so good. Only thing I dislike which isn't a big deal is getting my coffee cup refilled every minute but other than that great service.
(4)Aida D.
Love this place! The food is always good, the service is perfect, and we never wait too long. This is definitely our go to spots for Saturday morning breakfast.
(5)Iraida O.
Tried this place for lunch last week for the first time. I was looking for a good tuna salad sandwich (i'm not a big fan but had a craving!). It was FANTASTIC! My husband tried their cheeseburger, I took a bite and went to heaven! Will definitely be back!
(5)Sally E.
I actually came here on a Monday a couple of months ago after finding Anepalco's with quite a line. Thanks Yelp! The cafe had very little ambiance besides the cool license plates from different states and countries, so I was a tad skeptical when i walked in. However, as we were eating, the cafe got more and more full. I do need to reiterate that it was a Monday. My family ordered a variety of egg/omelette dishes that I found to all be mediocre. However, this review is for my meal, and I ordered the crab cakes benedict with homestyle fries with onions and peppers. I absolutely loved the crab cakes. It had a lot of hollandaise sauce so it was on the heavier side but the flavors and spices were really excellent. The side of potatoes were in desperate need of spices but the texture was at least good.In fact, all the side of potatoes (fries, hasbrowns, etc) didn't have any seasoning. I found that to be odd. My family and I decided to share the creme brulee french toast. Despite being full, I could not stop eating this. It was AMAZING. Mind blowing. The brulee sauce came on the side, so you could make the french toast as sweet as you wanted. By the end of the meal, I was regretting not ordering it as my whole entree. Everyone else at the table raved about it as well, so seriously ORDER IT. I do have to say that the service was truly excellent. My family and I don't eat pork and the waitress came back to tell us that my sister's country fried steak is served with pork-based gravy, and offered her hollandaise instead. I always appreciate when people remember and are respectful of dietary restrictions. Since I don't live in Orange, it is unlikely that I would trek over here...except maybe for that french toast. But cute little gem with excellent prices and a few star menu items.
(3)Wendy L.
Came here with my boyfriend because I've been really wanting to try out this place I got the Crabcake Benedict and I honestly forgot what he got and I also lost the picture I took due to me getting a new phone this place is very Lowkey and small, I don't recommend getting the crab cakes unless you can handle a big breakfast I couldn't take it but it was really good :)
(4)Azizah T.
The food is sooooo amazing I cannot comprehend how delicious my meal was. Although wait time can be a little long the service and food is very on point. Wish I had taken a photo of what I had gotten, the banana walnut waffle combo but I had eaten it too quickly. Not to mention I was starving. But the food was seriously the best!!! Five stars thumbs up if you're in the anhiem or whatever area since I'm from the east bay this was wonderful.
(5)Alison M.
I very much enjoyed the spinach and bacon quiche. I have a problem when quiche is dry but this one was done just right. They cut you a generous piece and serve a good amount of whatever your chosen side dish is. I had the hash browns with mine. My hash browns were your standard fare but I like them plain, so that's fine with me. I also had a chance to try my BF's crab cake Benedict. I've never really had eggs Benedict before since it never looked appetizing to me, but I am happy to have tried this one. It was delicious! It didn't taste eggy at all and the crab cakes were wonderful and crisp. I'll have to have my own the next time I go. My dad had the cappuccino, it was sweet, not traditional. I'm not complaining because it was still great, just don't expect it to be plain. A lot of my time there was spent eyeing other peoples food as it was being brought to their tables. The waffles and pancakes look amazing. My only complaint are the servers. They didn't seem like the friendliest of people. It seemed like a hassle for them to put two tables together for a party of 5. We ended up just adding a chair to out table of 4 instead.
(4)Stephy M.
This small cafe isn't far from my work, so I decided to try it for breakfast before my morning shift. I ordered the crème brûlée french toast combo with scrambled eggs and home fries instead of bacon, along with hot chocolate. The french toast was wonderful! I loved the taste of the crème brûlée sauce and would choose it every time I could instead of plain syrup. The hot chocolate was average tasting, but it went along nicely with my food. The eggs were cooked well, and the potatoes were alright. The only 'complaint' I have is that if you switch out a side for another, you're charged full price for the new side. The ambience is simple, there isn't much decoration besides cool license plates and some paintings. I didn't catch the waitresses' names, but they were very nice. It wasn't too busy at the time I went, and the wait for the food was super quick. Overall it's a pleasant place to eat breakfast, and I am recommending the french toast to everyone. I will be back to try more whenever I have an early shift again.
(4)Oz T.
I think this place is great! I visited this place twice and I was very pleased. I ordered the French toast and it was delicious, I like it when the serve the syrup hot it makes it so smooth to speed it around my toast giving it a rich and phenomenal flavor. The place doesn't look like your average LA restaurant but it does feel like home thanks to the nice and welcoming owner. A word about the owner, she's the nicest person!she greets every guest walking around the tables and talking to her costumers, you can tell she really cares for her costumers by knowing all of their names and thanking for coming back. I would highly recommend this place for a brunch with your love ones.

It's the end of the month yet again and it was my turn to find a breakfast place to dine at. My choice: Orange Cafe. We arrived around 10:30AM on Sunday. Parking: That could be a chore here if you don't time your arrival well with someone who is leaving because of their tiny strip mall location. There were two spaces when I drove up. I took one and a Jeep took the other, so there were zero spaces remaining as we approached the front door. Yes, they fill up that fast here. Seat me: There were groups of people waiting outside to be seated! That made me cautious, but undeterred as I went inside and found the entire counter seating arrangement to be wide open. Screw waiting for a table - we sat at the counter today. Water me: Once ordered, our drinks came out quick, but we automatically received no ice water because, I guess, you have to ask for it if you want it at any restaurant within the City of Orange. Not a big deal. However, I did have to ask for them to take back the Lipton tea bag and give me a Stash brand breakfast tea that was on display on the rear counter behind the silverware tray. My hot tea service came in the form of a cute white china tea pot on a plate and a coffee mug. Bear bottled honey on the side, no lemon wedge. Feed me: I ordered the corned beef hash, two eggs over-easy, sourdough toast and home fries. Everything on my plate was fine except for the hash. Listen, if I wanted Mary Kitchen Hash for breakfast filling half of my plate, I would have opened up the can I have at home. For the previous reviewers who wrote about the hash plate being their fave - I'm so disappointed in you and your definition of good hash. I was expecting homemade hash and I didn't get it. The breakfast food here is not fantastic, it's average. Serve me: Service, believe it or not, seated at the counter was OK, but spotty. We grabbed our own menus and were ready to order the first time the waitress came by, but she was not ready to take it. Then when our food came out of the kitchen, the owner/manager? walked around the dining room with our plates before she finally figured out we were seated at the counter. Not good. Additional notes: She also kept a calculator on the other side of the counter directly across from where we were seated at the end and kept coming back to use it. I kept nudging and pushing the salt/pepper/sugar/napkin island back towards where she was using it hoping she would finally move it over next to the filthy cash register on the rear counter, but had no such luck. I also found the one restroom door to be dirty on the outside. Can't say and don't even want to know what the interior of that restroom was like. And it was kind of nerve racking watching all the disorganization in the front seated at the counter. Overall score: A generous 2.5 stars.

Love this place! We try to stop by as often as we can for the great food and casual atmosphere.

The food here are just simply amazing. The quality of the food is always consistent which is very important in my opinion. Been here about once a week for about 2 months now. The crab cake Benedict is delicious, they pouches the eggs everso perfectly everytime, best I've had in socal.

I'm def coming back. I just went today for the first time based off yelp reviews (I searched "breakfast & brunch" near Orange, CA, and this was the 2nd top). Thank goodness I did not find this place on a weekend. Apparently the lines get long, and I can see why! They only have 10 tables! (But there are about 3-4 counter/booth seats, which seem to be taken up by dishes anyway). Coming from Tustin Ave, turn on Mayfair (across from IHOP). The black and white shades are going to catch your eye on the left. I could see how parking can suck because it's such a tiny area. I'm sure there's plenty of street parking though when it gets crowded. When I arrived with my eating partner at 9 AM on a Friday morning, there was plenty of parking (I parked directly in front of the cafe, yay!) and there were 3 open tables. The decor is fairly nice/diner-ish - license plates from all over USA line the top walls, and a few portraits here and there. I guess their old decorations are gone since they recently remodeled. FM 103.5 was playing cheesy Christmas music. To the left, you'll see their daily special chalkboard. I ordered the creme brulee French toast ($9.95) off that menu. It came with eggs and choice of sausage (patty or links) or bacon. I must say, the French toast was great! I don't think you will find good food for this price anywhere else. My eating partner had the country scramble ($6.99 - a weekday special), which came with 1) choice of potatoes (with out without onions/bell peppers) or fruit or cottage cheese and 2) choice of toast or biscuit or bagel. He went with the hash browns with onions/bell peppers and biscuit. The biscuit was a great choice with the gravy.. mmm, his breakfast was delish as well!! Again, this is the first breakfast place I've been to where I get good food for decent prices. (I haven't found anything comparable to Chuck's in Stockton, CA...yet... If you know of one, let me know!!) Their quiche seems pretty popular on yelp. The spinach/bacon/mushroom/onion quiche was on the daily special chalkboard for $9.95 (I saw reviews that were $8.95, but didn't mention if there was onion in it). I'll have to come back next time when I'm feeling quiche. Service was ok, attentive. I didn't really have special requests, but they did stop by our table more than twice to see if we needed anything. Holiday hours: closed Dec 23-26 and reopen on Dec 27 at 7 AM.

I had brunch with my friend and her husband on 03/20. The customer service was great, the food came quickly, and it was delicious. I ordered the meat lovers scramble, with a side of country potatoes and buttered toast. I definitely plan on returning!!

Nothing fancy just delicious food the fresh peach waffle can't be beat and the gourmet omelet lives up to its name, if they are busy it is a little loud inside so try the patio, ask for the older lady "Kathy" she is personable and friendly and keeps the coffee flowing .
(4)Kent C.
Always good, They are a little slow on service but, the waitresses work their butts off. Have had to wait for tables in past as it is small but, food is very good and worth the wait. I believe they are only open for breakfast and lunch.
(4)Pam G.
Wonderful place to have an old fashioned breakfast. Seating is great for early morning. A lot of regulars come here over and over again if not everyday. Servings are plentiful.
(4)Jason W.
Came in for a late breakfast on a week day, it wasn't a full house but most tables were occupied. We were greeted by an elderly woman who wore a scowl on her face and the greeting went like this "how many". Not a good first impression. A quick look around and I could see there was a least one table that was unable to place their order. They kept looking at the server but she passed by and ignored them 3 times. In my mind I was already thinking maybe this is a mistake; I came to enjoy a good meal. When our cups were brought to the table with her dirty fingers stuck inside each one that pretty much killed any chance of us staying. Guess we will never know if the food is good or not. We won't be back.

Orange Cafe is a nice place to go for breakfast. Nothing really stood out in particular for me and that's not a bad thing. I ordered the waffle and added two eggs and bacon for $2 which made it $8, very well-prices when you consider other places charge $8 or $9 for just the Belgian waffle alone. I've been there a total of 3x now and each time I get great service and good good. My favorite was the quiche thought for $10. It's a large portion and comes with potatoes. The quiche was so large that I took it and the leftover potatoes home and had them for breakfast the next morning! Heated up well! I've never had to wait for a table and portions are large and I feel proportioned to the price. I love hitting up this place for breakfast then driving over to the Chapman College farmer's market afterwards!
(4)Anthony S.
Had the mushroom Swiss burger with a side of fresh fruit. One hundred percent satisfaction. Nearly knocked me into a food coma. Too bad I gotta go back to work...
(5)Caroline L.
The Blueberry French Toast Breakfast for $8.99!!! Delicious, fresh and not a super sweet filling in the middle to where syrup can still be poured and it comes with eggs and bacon. I have also tried the Gourmet Omelette with Home Fries (awesome) and english muffin... Nice little hidden gem. Will def come back again! I hope they sell mimosas, I didnt check.

Oh boy. As a Seattle-lite, I relish all my trips down to SUNNY California. There are some awesome breakfast places in the LA area, but Orange Cafe is by far my favorite. There's something special with this small breakfast establishment that's hidden away down a side street, in a strip mall. I've revisited this spot on my last 4 trips to Orange County, and I don't plan to stop going here. Their corn beef hash and crab cake Benedict are just the way I prefer them to be prepared. Although, both are artery clogging villains, Orange Cafe has found a way to make them feel lighter and more healthy (even if it's just your mind playing tricks on you). I enjoy this place because of the food, staff, and outdoor seating. The restaurant is set far enough from the roadside, so even in the hustle and bustle of LA, you can eat a peaceful morning breakfast if you choose to sit outside. Try this place!
(4)nick k.
Nothing special about this place at all, The service was ok and the food was marginal. I had a bacon and eggs plate. the bacon didnt really look like bacon and tasted edible. now the prices were way to high. For a 2 egg and 4 bacon plate they charge $9 or close to that (my bill with 15% tip and tax was 11) most restaurants mark up their cost of food by 3-4 times for overhead. those 4 pieces of bacon and eggs and hashbrowns cost close to $1.20 maybe $1.50 max your price should be close to $6.50. get your prices right, or better quality food! I wont be back, thats for sure

Fresh, delicious and nutritious! If you're looking for a cool place to be and get some really great grub, why go anywhere else? This is the place to be.....

Came in for breakfast this morning and the food was delicious. I had the Creme Brulee french toast... amazing!! Customer service was great! Definitely come back.

My friends and I go to brunch every weekend. We're always looking for something interesting that won't break the bank. Someone suggested we try the Orange Cafe and after reading the reviews, I was down. I got there first and grabbed a table for us. The waitress offered me a drink and when my coffee came, I noticed there was lipstick on the cup. No biggie, I guess. When my friends arrived, we got settled in and started reviewing the menu. The waitress came to our table and asked us to move because a larger group was coming in. Again, it a huge deal, but slightly annoying. We each ordered, 2 of us got a basic egg meal and the other got the creme brûlée French toast. My friend and I that got the egg meals both thought it was ok. My other friend thought the creme brûlée French toast was pretty good. He even drank the extra cream. The service was pretty much on par with what other reviewers mentioned. Not so good. Everyone seemed pretty crotchety and unapproachable. I'm not sure if we'll add this to our regular brunch hot spots, but I'm definitely not a fan.
(2)Manar A.
I've never really heard about this place, I only saw the high ratings on yelp. I was honestly expecting much more food options. I specially came here for the French brûlée French toast, it was even written on the specials menu, but they said they were out. I ended up with the blueberry stuffed French toast with eggs and has browns. Was good, but nothing that I can't make at home. One thing I disliked was that they only had pork, no options for turkey bacon and when we asked to substitute for potatoes they charged $1.50 each. We don't eat pork for religious reasons, so it was kind of disappointing. I came with a total 14 people, not realizing that the cafe was very small. The staff was very kind and arranged. Special table to fit us all in. Service was ok, I could tell that the waitress was very annoyed with us, so it was a little uncomfortable at times. Also, looks like a place for regulars, old Caucasian women and cops, not really a must try for a foodie.
(3)Joanna B.
Was here on a weekday so idk about the weekend, but this place was delicious! Best home style potatoes hands Down. Their oatmeal was great also. For a nice week day breakfast I would HIGHLY recommend this cafe.
(5)Tiffany R.
We got the chicken fried steak, French toast plate and the silver dollar pancakes for my little nephew. Everything was dilish and cooked as requested (potatoes well done). Service was very attentive even though it was busy. Will be back!
(5)Foodsnob B.
The good - Servers were great. Heart n soul of the place for sure. The bad - Food was below avg. I had the country Benedict (biscuits n gravy) and I swear the sausage is from McDonald's. I'm from the south so I know this dish well but simply could not eat another bite. Little snob complained in his words about his pancakes - 'Nasty dad can we hurry home, I need to ...' The worst - the bathroom. I'm not sure what the smell is from but I started to gag and I know the servers outside the door could hear me. For gods sake - wipe off the filthy black hand prints all over the white bathroom door. I love hole in the walls but no excuse for being dirty. Makes me wonder if the kitchen is the same... May explain why the food tastes bad.
(2)Hector S.
Once I came in into this little hole in the wall, I noticed how full with people it was. We all know that places that are full with people are most likely a great place to eat. The servers were right on their game and really helpful at all times from the time I sat down with my family till the time I took off with a full stomach!!!:) I ordered the Florentine Scramble and trust me it was real good. It's a little hole in the wall in the city of orange, you have to try it!!!:)
(5)Emily L.
Orange Cafe is my hands down all time favorite breakfast spot, and for good reason! I believe it is a mom and pop shop which I support 100%. The waitress is always the same lady and she is beyond sweet! The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed and the service is always amazing. As for the food, I always get the stuffed French toast combo with scrambled eggs and sausage links! Soo yummy!!! Food arrives quick and fresh with a smile from the waitress accompanied by asking if there is anything else I need. There's nothing I love more than good service and even better food! I've taken my boyfriend and my friends here and they all loved it too!
(5)Lenny D.
This place was amazing! Hands down the best breakfast I've had in a long time. I got the eggs Benedict and I would have eaten the entire thing if I could. Large portions, good price, friendly staff, great food and "crunchy" ice....enough said!
(5)Tyler R.
I asked my 12 year old son to find a new place near us to try. He picked here. Great choice! A little bit of a wait as it is not a very large place but totally worth it. I am a huge sprouts fan so anything breakfast with sprouts covering a gourmet omelet is a winner for me. Service was outstanding and price is extremely fair for a healthy fresh meal. Modern age dad with a cell phone kid turning breakfast into an opportunity to learn, discover and provide feedback. Looking forward to reading my son's review soon too.
(5)Rachel M.
Orange Cafe is really fantastic! It's a small place thats perfect for brunch. They have some of the best quiche I have ever tasted. The staff is always friendly! I've never had a complaint about the service. Portions are huge. Come with a big appetite! The last time I was here I had the eggs benedict. A huge hamsteak over two crispy english muffins, with two of the most perfect poached eggs I have had in a restaurant. The only thing I was iffy on was that there was *so much* hollandaise, and it had a bit of an odd taste to it. Almost like it was from a can? But hey, the dish as a whole was pretty damn tasty. This is a great place, and one of my new favorite brunch spots.
(4)Letty P.
Now the food at this place will get an awesome review from me minus the unfriendly older Caucasian waitress who not once knowledge me even as I walked next to her and smiled. Some folks just aren't cut out for waiting on people. Glad the Orange Cafe had another younger Asian woman on staff that day because she immediately noticed me being ignored so she first asked the older waitress, "Are you ok?"... Then walked over to me greeted me and took my order, my food was out quick and my gosh delicious. I ordered the spinach mushrooms omelette with potatoes. Wow I'll be back and just smile when I see the snobby older waitress who knows she might just smile back this time. Can't wait to try other dishes there.
(5)P G.
When we come visit our daughter at Chapman University this is a must stop for a great breakfast. Fresh food, friendly service, inside and outside dining. the portions are perfect for a morning breakfast. It is in a funky strip shopping center but don't be fooled. Go in and enjoy the Orange Café.
(4)Sage H.
Small place I would have never found if not for yelp. 3 stars are only because I got a very simple dish. Two egg combo with potatoes and an English muffin. food was nice hot and came out quickly. Small staff so waitress was nice but was not there to chat. Checked back several times to make sure hot tea didn't need more water even tho they were very busy. Def. Check them out. Great alternative to IHOP across the street.
(3)Michelle H.
Oh my goodness, what a great breakfast place! The food is reasonably priced, and you get FULL servings! Delicious! So far we've had the Crab Cakes Benedict and the Peaches and Creme French Toast! Wow! Our experience with the service has been wonderful, so perhaps they've worked out the kinks there. I recommend this place to all of my friends and family. I can't wait to go again!
(5)Nhu N.
Five stars! Bravoooo! My favorite places are the places people tend to look over aka hole in the wall. Located in Santa Ana in the middle of no where. Haha Anyways, I came in Wednesday morning and was greeted by a cute little Asian girl! She was super friendly and was an extremely hard worker. Wasn't a full house, but it was semi full. And she handled herself very well.. Okay! On to the food! That's what yelping is about right? Haha , I had the crab cake Benedict and my friend tried the gourmet omelette.. The omelette was so healthy? Ew! Lol jk.. But it was meatless and full of veggies ! So for all your veggie head; that's your go to breakfast! .. Well I had the crab cake Benedict.. Big enough for two!! But it was delicious. Perfect egg and big portion of crab cake. Yum. Must have and must try for the newbies ! Overall; my experience and the food was amazing !

Was running a few errands in the area and wanted to find a place for brunch, found the Orange Cafe through Yelp and it sure did not disappoint! I love any type of breakfast food, and if you do too...this place is a must try! I was running short on time and wasn't able to dine in so I ended up phoning in my order. Since I had never been here before, I wasn't sure what was on the menu but the lady who picked up the phone was very helpful and patient in helping me figure out what to order. She had me list out what I would like to try and she put an order together. I'm not sure how a combo order is but I ordered over easy eggs, home fries, corned beef hash, and squaw bread. She had mentioned that they were the only ones to serve squaw bread and i'm glad that I had ordered that. It sure had been awhile since I have had squaw bread. Soooo good! Perfectly toasted with butter already spread on it. The location of this restaurant is quite inconspicuous and the parking lot quite small. I came on a late Friday morning and the parking lot was full, albeit there are only a few spots available for parking for the restaurant, but there were a few spots available on the street. I would have never imagined that it would be in the middle of a strip mall, about 4 other stores are attached because I had passed it the first time. The interior decor is a bit of oldies nostalgia and there was a large party of elders in the middle. It's great to see customers enjoying their food and others' company. Even despite them having a huge party, my food was hot and ready for me about 15-20 minutes after my phone-in order. Once I walked through the door and to the cash register, the lady guessed that I was Lesley and here to pick up my order. Pretty awesome! My order was laid out perfectly in 2 Styrofoam boxes. Not a fan of putting piping hot food in Styrofoam boxes but I guess that's still the norm these days as it retains some heat. Other than that, the food was seasoned well and everything was just so delicious! No condiments were included though besides strawberry jam for my squaw toast, which I did not use since I like my toast with butter only usually. If I remember next time, I'll remember to ask for ketchup and condiments. I asked her how long the Orange Cafe has been opened, and I think she had mentioned about 15 years (if my memory serves me correctly). The Orange Cafe came under new ownership about 6 years ago. Hoping to be able to dine in next time and try the many other delicious items.
(4)Brenna S.
Great breakfast! Eggs, hash browns, and sausage were cooked perfectly and the price was very reasonabule for Southern California. I'll defiantly be coming back next time I visit.
(5)Tiffany W.
Nice little hole in the wall diner! Delicious breakfast! Had to wait a little (20min, party of 8) but it was worth the wait!
(5)Rick E.
Great breakfast stop. It's got kind of Mom's cookbook written all over it. The omelette's cannot be beat. Huge helpings, you probably need to share. Bring the family. Everyone will get full, and the prices are fair and reasonable.
(4)Rose N.
Staff was very nice and welcoming. Came on a Friday afternoon and there were only two senior couples out in front. I ordered the creme brûlée French toast combo and it was delicious!! It's like my two favorite food got married and had a baby. It has the right amount of sweetness without being too overwhelming. The combo came with 2 eggs and your choice of either sausage or bacon. All for $9.99 My bf got the cheese omelette and it came with your choice of side and toast. I didn't try it, but he said it was good. Food overall seems good. A decent place to go for breakfast/brunch. I would come back and get the French toast to go. Other than that, there are plenty of other breakfast places I would choose to dine at instead.
(3)Izzy L.
The place is great, I've personally met the owners of the restaurant; they are some of the classiest people you'll ever encounter. The food itself is American fare and it's all done well. Above the standards of other competitors. The only ding I have against this business is it's location. You will deal with a small parking lot along with wait times. I feel that if they chose to expand, it would be an amazing idea because they always seem so busy!
(4)Zakary R.
The food was good for the prices, Service was excellent, and I look forward to coming back.
(5)Noel R.
This review is based on the service. Big problem here is the customer service is poor and they sat groups much faster than our group (who were after us) due to basic logical thinking. We were told we were going to be seated in 5 min and still waited around for 20 min. The old lady was not very friendly and seemed upset that we even showed up. I will not be returning based on the customer service alone. Ended up walking over to the IHOP instead were the service was much better.
(1)Shannon P.
My boyfriend and I went for the first time. There was about a 10 minute wait but it was so worth it. I ordered the Country Benedict and he had the french toast combo with sausage and eggs. We also had thier coffee cake muffin. The food was absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced. This is by far my favorite breakfast place now. When you go in ask for Marty, she was our server and did an excellent job!! It is a small place but they provide outdoor seating and the food is worth it!
(5)DD w.
Love the quiche at this place. The only drawback to this place is it's small and can fill up quickly.
(4)Misty C.
We had a very enjoyable meal. We didn't have to wait for a table on a Sunday morning which was nice . The food was delicious and we will visit again the next time we are in the area.
(5)Jeff R.
A great experience. After grabbing my son at Chapman University, we went here for a Sunday breakfast. We had to wait 25 minutes, but it was worth the wait! My wife had the Quiche and it was the best the she has ever had. My Chicken Fried Steak was so great, I could have done a second one if I was not so full. Our server was fast and friendly! My only complaint (ok, suggestion) put a pump pot with coffee and water outside. It would be nice not to have to walk to 7/11 across the street. We will be back!!
(5)Lisa C.
I came here with my mom one Friday morning. I usually don't go out for breakfast unless there are bottomless mimosas involved, so I was surprisingly pleased with Orange Cafe! The menu is what you would expect from any other breakfast joint. My mom got the corned beef hash and I got the chocolate pancakes because I'm five years old. To keep it short, both were great! The portions were huge and the service was great despite how busy it was. I will definitely be back!
(4)Cameron C.
This place is awesome. They make you feel at home here every one seems to know each other here and they make you feel welcome . It was our first time and definitely won't be our last. Great little hidden gem here in orange..the breakfast is hands down best in orange. This will be my new go to breakfast spot
(5)Vincent N.
Love this breakfast and brunch place! Comparable to Omelette House in Garden Grove. I ordered a cheese omelette that came with a choice of house fries, fries, onion rings (or half fries half onion rings, fruit, hash browns and salad (I think, there was a lot of sides...) and also a choice of toast, biscuit or English muffin. I got the house fries which were good! Big chunks of fried potatoes. The cheese omelette was a very plain and had no flavor (wish there was some veggies or onions fried with it) My GF ordered the creme brûlée French toast combo which came with eggs and sausage or bacon. Definitely a MUST TRY! Very good. Waitress's was very nice and each plate is around $10. Very cheap for a lotta food! I want to try their crab cakes Benedict next!
(4)Dominique M.
Be still my salivating tongue! YUM! Just yum! Tiny place off of Tustin, doesn't look like much but don't be fooled! The food is top notch! I custom ordered a waffle, chocolate chip with whip cream, just scrumptious! Crisp waffle and melted chocolate hit the spot! I went sweet but my partner in crime went savory with Denver Potato Pancakes, TO DIE FOR! Perfectly crisp potatoes with ham inside and a dollop of sour cream on top, need I say more??? Delish! Came with a side of eggs and fresh tomatoes (switched out for bacon). So so good, yummy in our tummies. Plus the food was very reasonably priced so we left full and happy.

Orange Cafe is a solid little breakfast destination - an upgrade from chain breakfasts at about the same price. Easy to see why every one of my Yelp friends like it! I don't go out to breakfast very often, usually holidays or family occasions - on this morning - party of 7 for my Mom's birthday. Whenever going out with a group there's usually several considerations - in this case, the requirements were food that was kid friendly, good eggs benedict, and easy access for my mom in her wheelchair. Orange Cafe fit the bill perfectly!! According to the reviews they're usually pretty busy, I called ahead and spoke to a very nice lady (didn't get her name), let her know when we were coming and about the wheelchair, she said would have a table table ready. Luckily it wasn't too busy this Saturday morning - when we arrived the perfect table was reserved for my mom to come in easily. The good service continued throughout the morning. As I said, the food is good traditional breakfast food - not gourmet or anything earth shattering - but they do have a few interesting items - Crab eggs benedict, and a white board with a few specials - I chose Chili Benedict from the board. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My sister in law, the eggs benedict lover, gave them a thumbs up - her kids mowed down their food. I asked for a changes to my mom's breakfast burrito (no salsa, put the avocado on the plate inside, cut in half, and use a ratio that included less egg and more potato) accommodations accomplished! My Chili Benedict: the eggs were poached perfectly. Everyone rates their potatoes highly - I agree - my version included bell pepper and no onion (by request). The chili was middle of the road. Overall the meal was a hit - the eggs were placed on a slightly sweet corn cake that was moist and went perfectly with the savory chili. It was an enjoyable special version of a benedict dish. Yelp scores with another local, independent, HITW discovery!

First and last time here. Exterior and interior stink - just gross environment that kept us wondering if we'll see a cockroach or two. Very uncomfortable chairs. The bathroom was a nightmare: I kept hoping a health inspector would come in because this place would have been shut down in less than 5 minutes. The floor was dirty, black, with pee and toilet paper. Pricing is waaayy too high for this cheap crap. Everything is oily, simple, old-school, clog your arteries, frozen/prepackaged/etc. food. Tea is Lipton... are you kidding me?! The cheapest garbage out there. The coffee was.... well, how WAS the coffee since what we had wasn't coffee but dirty water?! The omelettes: nothing special. Seriously. I've had omelettes up and down the coast, from WA, Seattle to WA D.C. The potatoes were ok but without the veggies they really don't have a taste. The bread, whole wheat, was just horrible. Come on people! This is almost 2015 - get some fu**ing normal, tasty bread! Overall: this place is truly a sh*t whole. The Filling Station, for example, has the same pricing with lovely service and outside patio seating area with flowers, etc. SOOO DISAPPOINTED that neither the food was good or cheap and that the outside was pretty much scary (Santa Ana ghetto anyone?)

Have to say it again.........One of my favorite places to have breakfast. They treat you like gold and the food is amazing. Love every weekend I'm there. Kari
(5)Jason M.
My girlfriend and I have made this our new breakfast spot. We have been here only twice within 2 months, but wow. Their food and service is fantastic. Not one negative about this place. Chili cheese omelette, French toast, and pancakes with fruit have all been amazing. We have tried other local restaurants, but nothing beats this place.
(5)Bre E.
The Eggs Benedict hollandaise sauce is so creamy and delicious; I enjoyed every bite. the waitresses were the sweetest, with the best customer service! Overall my first time experience at Orange Cafe was a great one and I cant wait to come back :)
(4)RoRo P.
Found my new favorite spot for breakfast. It has a very homie feeling and their dishes are tasty. They are very child friendly, which I truly appreciate. Their service is excellent. Parking can be a little nutty at times but there are nearby shopping centers one can park at. My spinach omelet was better than I imagined.
(5)Kamoana P.
Came by Sunday morning. This place is definitely popular. There were people waiting for tables and it was just two of us so we sat at the counter. From this vantage we saw all the plates coming from the kitchen and all looked very good. our plates were served quickly and everything was hot. I had the Sunrise Scramble with hashbrowns and sourdough toast and a short stack of pancakes. The eggs were scrambled nice and fluffy with bell peppers, onions, and nice cubes of hams. The hashbrowns were light, tender, and tastey not dried out like so many other places. The hashbrowns didn't have any salt but I like them like that because I can fix them up to my liking with pepper and tabasco. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and served with real butter!!! The spinach, onion, mushroom, bacon, and swiss cheese omelette was very good too! Portion are big!!!! We will be back!!!!!

Breakfast is one of my three favorite meals of the day. So when I find a cool little HITW (hole in the wall) mom and pop shop thats kinda close to home and has a good breakfast I get giddy as a teenage girl on prom night. yelp.com/biz_photos/oran… The Orange Cafe is a neat little Route 66 themed cafe that kicks out a darn good breakfast. I came with 2 of my favorite food critics (my daughters) to get the low down on the breakfast here. They both thought the interior was fun because we could play the arm punch license plate road game while sitting there. My arm still hurts. yelp.com/biz_photos/oran… The waitress who waited on us was super friendly and had the most beautiful eyes and smile that distracted me so much when she came to take our order I completely forgot what I wanted and had to stall and send her for a couple of Hot Chocolates for the girls while I regained my composure and revisited the menu. yelp.com/biz_photos/oran… FOOD ORDERED: Kids Panda Pancake yelp.com/biz_photos/oran… Strawberry & Banana Waffle yelp.com/biz_photos/oran… Crab-cake Benedict & Country Style Potatoes yelp.com/biz_photos/oran… FOOD TASTE: Kids Panda Pancake ... A pancake trio with sausage patty eyes and mouth and a buttery nose. My little one really liked this, said it was better than the mickey Mouse ones she'd eaten elsewhere. "I really like his kind of sausage daddy" she said as the stingy little tease would not even give me a bite. She ate all of it! 4****Stars Strawberry & Banana Waffle ... My normally picky teenage daughter thought this was the bomb! She never finishes up her food but she was the first to finish breakfast this time. That says a lot! She's NEVER EVER finished her breakfast before! So it must have been excellent as she would not share a bite with her old man! 5*****Stars Crab-cake Benedict & Country Style Potatoes ... I'd never had Crab-cake Benedict before but thought what the heck. The eggs were perfectly cooked with a delicious yolk that married so well with the Benedict sauce. The crab-cake was a nice twist on the usual eggs Benedict that I so like. It was flavorful yet almost overpowered the dish. I liked it but thought it a bit much. 3.5***Stars The country style potatoes were great! They were cooked a perfect golden brown with a nice spice, peppers and onions. Better than my home made. 5*****Stars The service was awesome! Polite and courteous service, constant refills, quick food delivery a pretty clean charming place to eat. 4.5****Stars We lucked out and just came before the morning rush, there were two empty tables and patio seating, but beware there may be a wait when you come as there was a line as we left. Plenty of parking too. I'll be back in my dreams tonight thinking of that waitresses hypnotic eyes, but I'll for sure be back to eat in the real world at the Orange Cafe.

I came here about a month ago. From the outside looks, I wasn't expecting much but I have to say I war impressed! The food was fresh and delicious. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are super friendly!

This place is definitely one of those hole-in-the-wall joints, where the workers know their customers by their names and orders. They have a pretty extensive breakfast/brunch menu. Everything sounded good so it was pretty tough to order. I ended up ordering the spinach, mushrooms, bacon, and cheese omelette with hash browns and toast. It was that or the Crab Cake Benedict. You do get a lot for the price you pay. I ate about half of the omelette and hash browns before I got full. It was good, nonetheless. Nothing really stood out though because I could have gone elsewhere for the same type of food. Service was nice. No complaints. It gets busy though. I was there for brunch on a Sunday morning and the tables were always filled with people. Stop by if you're in the area to check it out.

This place was actually really really tasty...nice lil cozy spot. Really nice people working here, not packed but looks like people know about it haha. This is a must try local small business...i had french toast (legit) my friend had eggs benedict which were even better...sausage smelled so good I ordered a side of sausage and bacon..it was jummy...so give it a try

This place always came up whenever we were looking for a place to have breakfast. Today, we finally made it! Parking was a bit scarce as there were quite a few people turning up to eat here--including half a boys soccer team and their parents! The place is clean, but small, and the decor is simple. It doesn't really matter though since I came for the food, not the ambience! We didn't have to wait too long to be seated and we were promptly served. Though they were a little overrun and hectic with the soccer team in, we did not feel neglected or overlooked. The boyfriend ordered the chorizo Benedict and I ordered the crab cake Benedict. Our food arrived promptly and the server made it a point to take our order before taking the large party's order. The boyfriend liked the coffee as well. Our orders were sizeable, and in fact, I couldn't finish my order! It was just so large, but it was good. The hollandaise was well-made and the home fries were very tasty and crisp! Overall, I think I was less impressed that the bf was, so I'd give it a 3.5 but he said he would give it 4. We would come back for more another morning when we're craving diner food at extremely reasonable prices!

Went here for breakfast I think I found my breakfast place to go to... I got there chicken fried steak it was hella good!! My wife got the eggs benedict it was good too. My ten month old baby had the short stack pancakes I assumed they're going to be small but noo they were big portions! Would go here all the time for breakfast...
(5)Kim L.
Really cute little joint!! Very clean and doesn't smell greasy at all! I ordered the country fried steak and it was very good! It was Lightly breaded and the gravy on top was awesome! I got a side of home fries and they were amazing! Cooked to perfection and crispy skin on the outside!! Seemed to have very fresh ingredients!! I will definitely be back!! Oh yea and the service was great!
(5)Gary B.
I have tried several things on the menu, kind of working my way through the whole thing. But it has stalled a little bit because they make the absolute best BLT I have ever ordered. Perfect proportion of bacon, lettuce and tomato.

Pictures on here look like it would have been way better. But flavor was lacking. Food: Stuffed Strawberry French toast (3 stars): Strawberries were fresh and the vanilla bean cream cheese stuffing was pretty good, but it needed more of it inside. Out of everything I tried this was the best. Creme brûlée French toast (1 star): Sounds amazing right? Tastes just wrong. Did not taste anything like Creme brûlée. And it doesn't look appetizing either. I would not recommend this. Side of eggs (3 stars): Normal scrambled eggs. Service: Service was good, everyone was nice. Our first table had scrambled eggs under it on the floor (got grossed out when we stepped in it) so we switched to another. It's pretty stuffy inside and it had a bit of a weird smell, but there were flies outside so we decided to stay inside.

This place you come for the food, not the service. I've been to orange cafe many times now and really love the breakfast options they have. My favorite being the corned beef hash, quiche and potato pancakes! Very yummy. Inside you will find bare white walls with a clock, chalk board, and license plates on top. They were renovating it a couple months back, but nothing much had changed. So don't prepare to have something nice to look at or here music playing either. Servers are slow and pushy, but the food is worth it!
(4)Josh M.
Have to say, I love this place. Yes, it's just a simple café with mostly diner-style dishes, and just a few specials that notch nicely above. But it's the best light brunch and friendliest spot in Orange. Tucked away on a side street off N Tustin, it otherwise feels many miles out of context -- like it was once the only café in a small town in Iowa but wandered off and got lost out west. And like Kevin Cosner says, maybe that's heaven. So be it. Incidentally, it's small and busy. You may need to wait on a weekend. Don't worry, it's still sunny. Breathe it in.
(5)Lili C.
The woman serving us is - efficient, sweet and gives just a faint smile if you order the hash browns with peppers and onions. Crispy on the outside but soft inside. The jellies are ordered by color in little baskets. The coffee's good and arrives almost as soon as you order. Food comes out a bit more slowly. I ordered breakfast combo with hash brows- but really wish I'd ordered stuffed french toast or chicken fried steak as they are more special. Food is good but not outstanding. Solid place for breakfast..
(3)Judi S.
The Creme Brûlée French Toast was so amazing. I added strawberries on top. Perfection.
(5)Jennifer A.
I'm a little confused by the four-star rating on this one. The space is small, no ambiance whatsoever, and it's very loud and not very clean. There were a lot of flies inside the restaurant which was weird--I kept having to shoo them away from my food and we sat indoors. There was food on the floor under the table which I kept putting my foot in. Blech. We ordered French toast, bacon & eggs, eggs Benedict and biscuits & gravy. Bacon was dried out and crunchy. The French toast was dry. And to top it off...there was hair in the French toast. Yum. :X It's not the worst place but after the high rating let down and the hair...I wouldn't go back or take anyone here.

Came here on a Sunday and told the waitress that we wanted a table for 2. She asked our name and said it should be able 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, we started to see the people who arrived after us getting seated. My husband got pissed and went in to complain. Turns out, the waitress hadn't marked our name down. Advice to the management: Put your sign in seat OUTSIDE so the patrons can write their names down. Your waitresses obviously can't handle doing that task.

This place hands down is the best breakfast place!! The parking lot and the crowd, it gives you that small town, im in the mid-west kind of feel. We came in during the week and there was no wait. I got the chicken fried steak, home style fries and toast. The portions were huge!! The lover got the original eggs Benedict. Something I normally wouldn't order. But the way this place made it. It was gorgeous! The service and price of this place was great. I would actually pay more for the quality of the food. Im so happy to have this place down the street and im excited about bringing new friends here.
(5)Kathy S.
My first time here and it is the best breakfast I have ever had. And I've had breakfast all over the U.S. Service is friendly and the French toast is to die for. I am definitely coming back again and again. Nothing like home cooked breakfast to brighten up your day!
(5)Rozie H.
I really do like this place, their really do have good food, but the service is just way too slow.. I truely believe that if they can hire another waiteress and another chief, people might come back more often. There were so many times that we wanna come here for brunch, but gave up because of the half an hour- an hour wait...
(3)Carolyn N.
Great food made with fresh ingredients. Even their fruit bowl is fresh- none of that canned fruit business. I had the Spinach mushroom bacon omelette. The spinach was fresh- once again none of that canned or frozen business. The only down side- It's a little bit of a wait for a table, but the staff work hard to turn over table quickly. To account for the wait, I would come about 30 minutes before you're actually hungry. Overall great food, reasonable prices, friendly staff! Will return next time.
(4)Joe M.
I had breakfast at this diner. I think there are a lot of regulars. It is definitely not fancy. The people are nice and the breakfasts are large and good. It is hidden away off of Tustin Ave, on Mayfield.
(3)Christopher F.
Went here during Blizzcon to try some local food was excellent service was slow but worth the wait. I'd go here again next time I'm in town.
(4)David B.
No nonsense home cooking will be found at Orange Cafe. Great place for breakfast (never been in for lunch).. The service is pretty consistent, as is the food.
(4)Charla D.
I love the small town feel of this charming mom-and-pop place. They open early in the morning and close at 3pm, serving breakfast or lunch all day long. Their food is quite simply some of the best comfort food you'll find, all served in hearty portions. I really enjoyed their breakfasts and that they offer specials like a daily quiche or a special version of French toast. On this last visit the quiche of the day was spinach, bacon and cheese and the French toast was crème brûlée. One of my favorite of their special French toast is the crispy French toast that is battered and then dipped in crispy, crunchy cereal before it's panfried... What talking some serious yumminess! This time I enjoyed one of my favorite savory breakfasts they serve, and that's the Crabcake Benedict's with delicious home fries that are crispy good on the side! The crabcakes are flavorful, a really, really nice size and there's no stinginess to the amount of hollandaise sauce served over the top. It's almost always packed every day, yet the service is always excellent. The friendly proprietor always recognizes you from your last visit and takes time to stop and chat. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
(4)Melissa H.
I definitely agree with previous yelpers about the rude older waitress. There wasn't any list to put your name down, so I stood in the doorway, walked to the counter (only to get asked to move) then stood back in the doorway hoping to get noticed for a good 5-10 minutes. So after a 30+ minute wait to be seated, I slowly noticed that more than half of the diner didn't have food on their tables. Tables that were already seated since I first arrived...which makes 45+ minutes. The really mean older waitress took my order and it just felt like I was inconveniencing her day. I ended up leaving before my food was even prepared cause after calculating how many people without food were before me, I figured it'd be another hour wait. Its too bad cause the pictures of the food all look really good.

Short-n-Sweet: Small location but delicious and reasonable! STORY-TIME: It's located in a crappy looking strip mall. So, I'm sure you wouldn't wonder why I wasn't dying to go try it again. I tried it way back, like 3 years ago: it was a weekday with noone else in the small joint, and I don't remember being impressed. In fact, I think I ordered a malt and was disappointed. The location hasn't change, but their attitude towards success has!! Now they're stealing business from the IHOP across the street! That's saying alot, right? Once I saw the crowd, I knew the principle of supply and demand was at work. People are not going to pack a restaurant if they don't have too, so this was an encouraging site to behold! My friend swore on her Gucci purse that this place had some of the best quiche she's ever had! I started looking at eBay to see how much I could get for her purse, but I ended up being persuaded to agree with her: YOU MUST TRY THE QUICHE IF YOU LIKE QUICHE AT ALL! I ordered the Crème Brûlée French Toast as a backup just in case the quiche wasn't all that. This plate was also frekin great!! They placed a shot of Crème Brûlée for you to do as you wish. I decided to dunk each piece-- I definitely was in sweet tooth heaven. They are still remodeling, and the location still sucks, but if you are just looking for a fantastic breakfast, you are not going to be disappointed with the savory magic of the Orange Cafe. PS. Gucci purses holds a fresh order of quiche-to-go pretty well! =p

Was running errands and realized I had plenty of time to kill. Browsed what breakfast place I can visit where I was at and the crab cakes benedict caught my eyes since I love crab cakes. Got there and service was slow with only 4 tables to be served including mine. Anyway, got my crab cake benedict and thought it was okay. A bit disappointed as I thought it the crab cake you get at groceries was better and I guess I'm a bit spoiled from the benedicts from brunch in taps fish house. It's not bad, but not good: just okay.
(2)Pam N.
Have made this a regular breakfasst/lunch destination. Staff is great. Makes you feel like family. Egg dishes are cooked to order and consistently great. The burgers are thick and juicy. Interesting and tasty daily specials like chilli Benedict or Creme Brule french toast. Fruit sides are always fresh and varied. It's a perfect place for a casual home style breakfast or lunch
(5)Naomi B.
Everything was so good! The eggs Benedict is my favorite. The gourmet omelette is a close second. Don't forget the hash browns with peppers & onions!
(5)Johnson S.
Cool little Mom and pop place with good pricing. The food was decent, I had the cheese omelet and hashbrowns which were just ok, the hashbrowns were mushy and didn't have good texture. Also had pancakes (shared everything with my daughter) and those were bombtastic. Really great pancakes. The real downfall is the service. 2 servers for the entire restaurant having to ring up your bill with a calculator and long hand math. People were not happy all over the place. Charming place, decent food, slllooowwww service. I'd maybe give it another shot because the pancakes were so bomb.
(3)Melinda Q.
I love "hole-in-the-wall" type restaurants since I believe there's always an interesting story behind them. After a nice walk in the canyons, Orange Cafe did the trick in rounding out a perfectly good Sunday morning. Tiny, yet charming, establishment filled with great comfy breakfast/brunch menu items and old license plates from around the country are displayed on the walls. Hands-down one of the best corned beef hash and eggs I've had and I can't wait to try the much talked about Eggs Benedict w/crab cakes on our next hike.
(5)Sandra S.
Let me start off by saying, THEIR FRESH FRUIT IS AMAZING. By far the best fruit that I have had at ANY restaurant! Raspberries, blackberries, apple cubes, pineapple chunks, grapes, cantaloupe chunks, and banana slices. ALL perfectly sweet and fresh. Their portions are very satisfying and we definitely got our money's worth. Honestly I would choose this cafe for breakfast over IHOP any day! And the funny thing is that it is on the same street, lol. Our waitress was such a sweetheart and brought our food out in a little under what felt like 10 minutes. I will definitely be back for more!!
(5)Anne N.
Found this place through Yelp and it is a simple cafe but a great place to grab brunch or even lunch with their decent selection of sandwiches. We sat outside at the tables in front and ordered the peaches and cream pancakes and spinach bacon and Swiss cheese omelette. Our side dishes included sourdough toast, bacon and hash browns with sautéed bell peppers and onions. My bf and I really were surprised at the lack of greasiness that you often find with breakfast foods. Our food seemed much more palatable and healthier without grease dripping off the bacon, omelette and hash browns. The pancakes were also some of the best I had. Super fluffy and cooked just right. Cream cheese with the peaches was an interesting addition but it was still light tasting. Everything was a hit, including the nice lady who served us. She was attentive, quick and even cracked a few jokes. She also chased us down when we forgot out leftovers on the table. Wish i could have tried more things since the Yelp pictures looked so good. I am totally looking forward to my next visit to try the French toast and eggs Benedict!
(5)Diana H.
Went on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. Right when we walked in we knew we would have a long wait even after being seated. Kitchen definitely struggled to get the food out quick. Only 40% of the tables had food. BUT the actual food was great. Denver potato pancakes ( basically hashbrowns with onions and ham ) and a cup of the soup of the day !!
(4)Chris B.
Great food, friendly service, no wait (though it was a Friday, to be fair). Would definitely come back, the Creme Brule French Toast was amazing!
(4)Sam M.
Came here on a whim and was thoroughly impressed. Had my first eggs benedict here (crazy right?). Insanely good. So since then I've tried eggs benedict at a handful of other places that are supposed to have solid eggs benedict, but they still don't beat this place. Good service too.
(4)Sally R.
We came down to Orange to visit the antique stores and decided to eat breakfast at the Orange Cafe. The wait was about 10 minutes and then we were seated. The waitress was so friendly and nice and our breakfast's came out fast. The omelets were tasty and full of fresh ingredients. The food is good, but between the owner and waitress, they make eating here a very good experience.
(4)F P.
Excellent food. Had the blue berry stuffed French toast. It was excellent. Could tell blue Berries were very fresh. All their food is fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend this place for breakfast.
(5)Joel L.
Nice service. The decor is interesting but not too silly either. Their quiche is pretty good.
(3)Jihee A.
If you want to come here not only for bad service but to be completely ignored then this is the place for you! I can't speak of the food because I had no patience to wait two to three hours for whatever it is they serve. They do not acknowledge you when you arrive to take your name down for a table. I had to hunt down three waitresses and got scolded by an old lady for getting in the way near the back next to the bathroom where I was waiting for the other waitress to take down my name. Finally I get my name down but she waitress took down the girls name that came after me before mine. One point for a yellow flag. Finally after forever I get seated (2pt yellow flag) and when I asked if I could order immediately the old lady (common problem in all the other one star reviews which I guess is my fault for trying to give the place the benefit of the doubt) ignored me and kept demanding and a condescending manner what I would like to get for drinks. It no longer became a question to get my drinks and there was no answer to if I could just order my food already. Three points yellow flag!! Turned around to see people that have been seated way before us before we even arrived still without food (over an hour now). RED FLAG RED FLAG DANGER DANGER. So we confirmed to stop our order went across the street to IHOP out of desperation. I felt like I went back in time to my childhood and was being scolded by my best friends mom.
(1)Nermeen M.
Came here on a sunday morning- husband and I, the wait wasn't horrible, only abou 15 minutes. The place is tiny and loud but the reviews looked good. The older lady everyone complains about was just as nice as she could be, being so busy so I'm not sure what the fuss is about with her. She took our name down , we waited and we were seating by a very sweet waitress. Coffee came right away after we ordered it from said older lady, then another waitress took our order. I ordered the orange cafe breakfast special which is a chicken fried steak between a biscuit with gravy, two eggs and choice of side. Hubby ordered the corned beef hash combo. Both meals were DELISH and filling. The chicken fried steak and the gravy they use is really tasty, authentic. His corned beef has was awesome as well. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. If you don't mind the diner ambiance, give this place a try.
(4)Amy S.
Stick with the basics and you'll be okay. The eggs were perfectly poached, the home fries were deliciously crispy (although lacking any salt), and the hash browns were golden and delicious. My husbands sausage gravy was satisfying. The train left the track with the crabcake on my crabcake eggs benedict. The crabcake was a frozen wad of pimento speckled breading hosting a crablike flavor. Why in the world would you layer this hockey puck on top of another bread item (the English muffin)? I ended up removing the crabcake and enjoying the eggs & muffin. The quality of what we ate was reasonable for the price we paid...but next time, I'll stay with waffles or pancakes.
(3)Gretchen H.
Small and very casual place but the food was stellar. There were three of us. We got chicken fried steak, corned beef hash and an omelet. All three dishes were solid. The chicken fried steak was the stand-out. Omelet was well cooked and tender. Hash browns and home fries were good. They do the home fries with or without onions and peppers which I appreciate because I don't like peppers. Service was good, coffee was decent and refilled often. Would definitely come back when in the area.
(4)Amber T.
I am shocked that some people had bad experiences here because we loooovvee this place. We go out to eat very often -- we are def foodies so we have tried a lot of places in and around Orange County and orange cafe tops the list! The service was excellent and the pregnant woman everyone talks about was phenomenal-- super friendly. She made us feel like we were in at a family member's house for breakfast. Not only did the food taste great, with tons of flavor, the food was out within 15 -20 minutes. This place does get super busy so you have to have patience during certain hours - but it is worth the wait. The orange cafe breakfast is my favorite with fries instead of potatoes. If you love breakfast potatoes this is the place to go. Crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle and you can order with or without onions and peppers! Try it out and you won't be disappointed! Forgot to mention the ice! Get a coke with ice - the best here-- it's like old school donut store ice!
(5)Leslie B.
If you are in the mood for a good breakfast or brunch and in the area then definitely check this place out! Came here this Saturday late morning after searching yelp for a bomb new breakfast place to try. My boyfriend was only down for a place that served French toast and I just wanted a solid breakfast. Drove here and place is hidden, my eyes lit up because I could instantly tell by it's location and look that it was a hole-in-the-wall type of place! It is small, you may wait for a table, but there is also counter sitting available. Their specials are up on a board on the wall, the menu is pretty big with a lot of options to choose from! The service is friendly! It's a hole in the wall, so it's more of a "home" feeling type of place. I actually ended up getting a sandwich because well I love sandwiches and they offered an avocado, turkey and sprout sandwich that sounded too good to not order. I opted to get hashbrowns as my side and then added a side salad. My bf got the Frenchtoast that came with two eggs and bacon. When my side salad arrived, I knew our meal was going to be good because my side salad was probably the prettiest side salad I have ever seen/gotten! My sandwich that came next was bomb and huge! My bf was silent as he ate his French toast which means it was so good that he couldn't talk and was busy tasting the deliciousness! I will definitely be coming back to Orange Cafe and it is for sure a place to go for breakfast! Nom nom nom
(5)J P.
this is by far the best little "hole in the wall" in all of OC. Breakfast and Lunch have never been so good. My family and I cant get enough. Staff is perfect. Wait times for food can be long but I DONT CARE ! its that good. Every mom n pop shop needs to visit this place to see how it's truly done.
(5)Ersi M.
Had read the reviews on yelp and had been meaning to go for a while. Went a couple times where it was full and I couldn't find parking so I gave up. However, I finally got to eat there last week and it was very good. I got a croissant with bacon and egg whites, my sister got the eggs benedict that she's now been craving all week. It's definitely worth the wait and service is wonderful. Parking sucks but I don't think they have control over that.
(4)Hugo B F.
The country eggs Benedict is the best I ever had in a breakfast joint. Get it with the bell peppers and onion. My boyfriend and I couldn't get enough. :) Highly recommend. No rush. Very relax atmosphere.
(5)Fermina H.
Food is excellent! But I was annoyed at one of the waitresses. The other waitresses were nice so I won't take off a star or anything like that. I will get to her in a moment, but first, let me tell you about their Meat Lover's Scramble...it is huge and delicious! I love the melted cheddar on top and the side of hash browns was just as large as the scramble. I also asked for ranch because I slather that on everything and made it even tastier. It's the best scramble. My bf got a Veggie Omelet and he liked it. I had a hot chocolate and my bf had a coffee. One of the waitresses, a middle-aged Hispanic lady, accidentally poured coffee into my hot chocolate cup. She told me she poured a little bit and asked if that was ok. I winced and said, "ehhhh..." like I don't think so. She then took my cup in annoyance and refilled me another half way. She acted like it was my fault! So rude. I've served people before and I know that if I had done that to a customer, I would get a new hot chocolate WITH the whipped cream and all and apologize. She didn't even say sorry. It was so rude and inconsiderate and made me feel rather uncomfortable in her presence. I glowered at her once when she walked by and ignored her the rest of my time there...Because hi, she got some attitude. But other than that, I would go again because the food is great and the portions are satisfying!
(5)Sam A.
Been here several times over the years. The staff is friendly, the place is small but worth a few min wait. I love that everything is fresh and cooked to order. Also they have breakfast and lunch items both can be ordered at anytime. Everything I've ordered from the pancakes to Eggs Benedict is delicious and I've never been disappointed with a meal. I would recommend this place to anyone.
(5)Laura D.
my food was delicious. we came for breakfast. the waitress was so on top of everything. like a ninja. keeping our drinks full and getting us settled asap! good food good service I am looking forward to going back again
(5)Sarah R.
Love this local restaurant. Breakfast was fresh, coffee was good, and they accommodated our party of 11, no problem (we called ahead)! I would definitely come back and bring people here during future visits to Disneyland. We prefer local places to commercial chain restaurants any day, especially when they're this attractive and good.
(4)Brenda B.
Yelp reviews say 4 stars and this place should be 2 stars or less. Very disappointed with customer service here. Walked in and was not greeted or even given eye contact. The place was not overly crowded but all the empty tables were dirty. There were flies inside the restaurant, the food coming out didn't look like the pictures, and place didn't look hygienic. My husband and I sat outside and I asked for a side of toast because my stomach was hurting and the waitress told me it would be awhile because of pick up orders. I didn't know putting bread in a toaster required that much effort. It just shows they don't value customers. Once she said that I immediately left and went across the street to IHOP where I knew the food and customer service is always great.
(1)Chris P.
This cafe has wonderful service wonderful food and reasonable prices come enjoy this wonderful cafe you won't regret it
(5)Andrea H.
I went in today to check out the restaurant since I love supporting family owned businesses. We went as a party of 3 and the place was full so I was the first on the wait list, she took my name down and I told her I'll be waiting outside where they have some waiting chairs. After some time I started to notice that people were just going in and being seated. I went in to ask her why my table was taking so long when the people who arrived after got seated right away. She responded with " I called your name and you didn't come". I told her I was waiting outside and she didn't bother to come out and check, and it's not like I could wait inside its small and no waiting area or chairs. She told me the people who were seated were regulars and now there was no table for us. They tried to say sorry but there was nothing that they could do. I told to never mind and I left. I got the vibe that if you weren't a regular you were not going to get good service. Completely disgusted that they would treat anyone like that. And the original who screwed up didn't say sorry some other waitress had to do it. My opinion don't come, just oh across the street to a chain restaurant!
(1)Tony L.
Not a bad place for breakfast. I had the country fried steak with eggs over easy. With hash brown and rye toast. I would recommend this place to anybody that wants a small neighborhood feel joint. It's pretty small, maybe a total of 30 people seated so if you come when it's busy. You might have to wait a little bit. The service is excellent and the ambiance very laid back local feel. Took my daughter for breakfast and it was a nice little place in the OC. Good: Service and Food Bad: Really small and limited parking.

This place is amazing!!! The food is fantastic! Especially the Spinach mushroom bacon and onion quiche, Créme brûlée French toast, crab cake Benedict and the rib eye steak. Everything is tasty. The service is fantastic. Everyone is smiling and happy to serve! The place is always busy and there's always a wait but the food is worth the wait! We are definitely going to be regulars here!!

Breakfast is average, you'll get what you need for breakfast. Service was very friendly!

Best breakfast in town and great staff. Had the creme brûlée French toast special husband had the two pancake combo and it was super yummy. Got my eyes on the eggs Benedict next :)

First time trying this place on a recommendation from Yelp. I would have never found this place on my own, and I'm glad we tried it. This is one of a number of small breakfast and lunch places in North O.C. that are great. My wife had french toast and I had the Denver omelet. Both were very good, although the bacon was a little too overdone for my wife. This is a small diner so expect to wait when you get there. A very nice couple shared their table with us and even picked up our meal. Thanks folks! They are regulars at the Orange Cafe, so we hope to return the favor next time we visit, which will hopefully be soon.

Don't trust all the low reviews on here. The wait staff is great and the breakfast was solid! Came in on a Sunday morning and didn't have to wait long at all. All the crappy reviewers should just go to the IHOP across the street.

Super puffy heart this place! I love that the owner (Marty) makes a point to get to know her customers and greets us by name. I have had breakfast here a handful of times and was in love from day one! The other day I was in for lunch and OMG!!! Their cheeseburger is AMAZBALLS!!! And the onion rings, bomb.com
(5)JustMe G.
I decided to try this place due to the breakfast , I really liked my eggs Benedict so yummy . I had the country Benedict and my son had the Denver omelet. Good thing for me I called in my order . I was told it would be ready in 20mins for pick up. I was running late doing some errands, was so glad the waitress called me to remind me my food was ready. Now that's what I call great service! Very pleasant staff.

A 5-star quiche! I heeded what Yelper Trissia W said and ordered the quiche. Joy of all joys, they had it!. The chef had just baked more of that gorgeous pastry. Get that Trissia? It's there right now and it IS homemade! Go girl! It was served nicely warmed, all gooey with Swiss (?) cheese, and a delectable custard embracing the extremely generous spinach, mushroom and bacon filling. Unlike a lot of other quiches that are all custard and skimpy on the other ingredients, this one was plump with fillings and not too rich. Crust - Flaky, delicate, not too thick, just what a crust should be. Let it be known, I am one serious critic when it comes to crust. Portion size - Nothing skimpy here. That, and a great cup of fresh fruit, $8.95. To say it was perfect on so many levels is an understatement. I bow to thee, oh genius chef/baker. Soooooo glad I got it. Tip of the day - I now know to come on a weekday, and that should promise a nice big slice with no regrets.

Breakfast done right. Menu isn't revolutionary by any means, but the food is just cooked to perfection. This is a busy little joint very much like what you would find in nostalgic movies. I ordered the orange cafe special, which is a slab of country fried steak sandwiched between a mini biscuit with a ton a thick, white gravy on top. Saddle that with a side of over medium eggs, this is breakfast heaven. Things can get hectic when they're busy, but the service is genuine and for the wait is worth it.
(5)Sarah F.
Everything was great, but the potatoes with pepper and onions are simply the best. I'm fat and happy:)
(5)Darren E.
This is are normal breakfast spot. We usually eat here once a week unless we are out of town. We pretty much have the same thing, she has the potato pancakes and I have the Gourmet omelet. I've had many of their breakfast items and I always come back to the Gourmet omelet. Normally I have them hold the potatoes and add fresh fruit because their fruit is always great. If you have not had breakfast here you have to try it.

If you have two hours to kill and have a passion for half genuine customer service this may be the place for you. Food was decent but receiving food nearly an hour after ordering, and with no waitress/customer interaction between, was simply unacceptable. And when we asked to speak to the manager we discovered the manager was actually our server. Bottom line a place this small should thrive through its customer service, which it clearly does not.

After looking for a yummy breakfast place on Yelp for hours, finally decided to come to this place, and was greatly disappointed. Food: Breakfast Croissant: Got this croissant with egg, cheese, and avocado. The croissant was not fluffy, and felt really greasy. The egg wasn't cooked great either, was chewy. Don't get this! Strawberry Pancakes: This was probably the best dish out of all the dishes we tried, but still not anything amazing. Supposed to be vanilla bean in it, but I didn't taste anything of that. Decent pancakes, but not something I would come back for. Atmosphere: Right when I walked in it smelt weird, like dirty tables wiped down. The table we sat at as well was clean on top but there was egg under the table, which was gross, so we had to ask if we could move. Couple of flies flying around too which was bothersome. Overall, won't be coming back here. Food is not top quality and definitely do not like the atmosphere.

The service is really that bad...We show up on Sunday for some breakfast at 9:30. Wait about 20 minutes for a table for 3. Order some water and then wait about 45 minutes for our breakfast to come out. We didn't order anything fancy just hash, eggs, and scramble. Last time I checked it doesn't take 35 minutes to cook up some breakfast. Didn't even get an apology for slow service or not refilling waters even once. Food is just okay. One notch above Denny's...

Went back again January 2013 - still delicious! Recommendations: -French toast -Ham and cheese omelet
(5)Amy S.
The absolute best breakfast ever! Eggs Benedict specials there are amazing. Eggs Benedict with chorizo and another one with a Crab Cake! Our whole family loves this place and we are forever fans! Plus as an add on to this...the staff is amazing and the owner knows everyone by first name. Very very nice.
(5)Heather C.
My husband & I eat breakfast here every week. It ain't fancy, but it's consistent and delicious. I love their omelets especially! Their produce is fresh & all food is seasoned well. I love this local spot for great people watching, as well. We are new to Orange, but we feel like part of the community when we're here! Service is efficient, no-nonsense and consistent. Don't expect a hug when you come in. However, in their own, stoic way, it's a welcoming spot. I would give this the full 5 stars if they had better coffee and dairy substitutes like almond milk. Also, I wish they would change their togo containers- styrofoam is whack!

Charming little locals only spot that you would not have never have guessed to dish out out some spectacular american classics, whle ocassionally whipping up some awesome new innovations. First step in and you instantly appreciate that place as you look around at all the Americana hanging on the walls. Plus don't be surprised if the sweet old lady, who I'm sure is there every day, greets you with a smile and would be happpy to help you out with anything you have questions about. Some of my favorites on their permanent menu range all across their omelette selection, the Florentine being my top choice in particular. The fact that use butter for their omelettes is something to die for in both the good and bad sense, you'll food coma pretty hard if you actually finish the whole thing. Their corned beef hash was delish, a must try if you like a super hardy breakfastold-school. Pancakes where airy and fluffy, that I MUST recommend you try with the apple-cinnamon jam, along with some butter and maple of course. But recently I tried one of their current specials of the day was basically "signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours", the unctuous Chorizo Benedict. Runny yolk egg, atop silky smooth avocado and drizzled with creamy chorizo hollandaise sauce, ugh, hold I got light a cigarette. But yes, fats on fats on fats this dish was bad intentions from the start and oh man did I embrace it. Ok, after giving myself a moment, I'm coming back again and again to build up my credit stamps for a free meal. See you there!

We were going to Orange to a nursery to pick up an order of plants to landscape our yard. I used my trusty Yelp app to find this cute little off of the beaten path coffee shop. It was awesome. If you could morph a Cheers with a diner, you would get the Orange Cafe. My husband stepped away from his comfort zone and ordered the daily special. Creme Brulee french toast. OMG it was amazing. Light, not overly sweet french toast drizzled with this amazing vanilla bean custard sauce, served with a side of the sauce bruleed on the top, so it had that nice little crust on it. I ordered corned beef hash and eggs. It was very good as well. The eggs could have used about 30 more seconds for perfect over easy, but it was solid. The SERVICE ROCKED. There were only 2 servers and 0 bussers here, and these ladies were working their butts off. They called many of the customers on a first name basis.
(4)Carina T.
Great food! Friendly staff! Small and cute gets busy on weekends! Love there omelets and potatoes! The eggs Benedict are great!

Little hidden treasure. 9am on a Thursday Fast service from a waitress who is like a sweet aunt.. Retiree AM crowd. I think the burrito will feed three and Dude so good

Went here one weekend for brunch cause I was craving waffles. I saw the pictures on Yelp and thought, "This is the place!" It was close, the reviews sounded good, and the prices appeared reasonable. Well, they DIDN'T HAVE WAFFLES!! :( But, the strawberry cream cheese french toast TOTALLY made up for this! I was pleasantly surprised by the serving size, and the fact that you get eggs and sausage or bacon on the side--all for ~$10. The ratio of toast to strawberry to cream cheese is perfect--they didn't skimp on anything, and each bite had a good amount of each. The strawberries appeared to be mixed with a bit of sugar so they were sweet and juicy. The husband got an omelette (can't remember the name, but it had bacon, avocado, and cheese) and he really liked it. Normally we don't take eggs home as leftovers, but he loved it so much he wanted to take the rest of his omelette home. Note--nothing here is gourmet (I'm 99% sure the sausage patties were Brown n' Serve frozen patties), but it hits the spot. Maybe it's cause I grew up on Brown n' Serve, but everything was A-OK with me. The only thing that bothered me (and knocked off 1 star) was the eggs. I got them scrambled, and they were definitely the powdered eggs. It tasted a bit like how moth balls smell....

Complete dump and the service sucks! We literally stood in the restaurant for ten minutes before anyone approached us and finally asked us for a name walked away but didn't mention anything about a wait. While standing there this disgruntled older waitress more or less told us to get the hell out of her way ... Twice. Finally I sat down at one of the empty tables then was told to get up because we were on a wait list. News to me! There are far better places to go then here better yet stay home! No nasty waitresses there!
(1)R M.
This place would be a 5 if it weren't for the wait time for our food. It took around 25 minutes for the food to come out. Pros: awesome food! Strawberry stuffed pancakes were the best! Great portions. Cons: food took too long to come out. Small place. They should really think about expanding because they had a good amount of people waiting for tables.
(4)M. D.
Service is fast and friendly, but the food was just ok. They make their own gravy now but in all honesty I just didn't care for it. I ended up scraping off the gravy and eating my biscuit with jam. My eggs were cooked to order and the bacon was good, not too greasy. I really liked the waitress, she was on top of the coffee refills and made sure everything was ok. The gravy didn't have to be a deal breaker, I planned to come back and try another dish next time but I went to use the restroom before leaving and it was disgusting. I don't think I can come back now, that's a deal breaker. Hopefully it's not always like that but I don't think I'll get over the mess that was in there.
(3)Ali K.
Orange Cafe is amazing! Creme brulee french toast is a must try! I've never had anything like it! The quiche is fantastic! (and i'm not even a quiche fan!) Breakfast burrito, country breakfast, just plain ol' bacon and eggs... All delish!! Be prepared to wait if you're going around 8:30-10. They get you in and out quickly but this place gets busy!
(5)Michelle H.
Nice hole in the wall restaurant! Got there on a Sunday around 10am and got seated right away. They have a good menu selection and I received awesome service (compared to the other reviews). They definitely made sure my coffee cup was never empty! =] I had the California omelet, and it was pretty pretty good! Decent place for breakfast!
(4)Kay D.
The breakfast food is fantastic, and in a cuter setting this place could probably obtain a higher rating from me. The current situation is fine, but is reminiscent of a school cafeteria. The decor is highway diner style, with the walls being plastered with old license plates. I had a mushroom, spinach, and bacon quiche (quiche of the day), and it was GREAT. I rarely meet a quiche I don't like but this was perfect in every quiche-y way. I am a hashbrown whore, and their hashbrowns here definitely met my expectations. Perfectly crisped without being too oily. Om nom nom. I also had some of their creme brulee French toast. It was French toast with a little scoop of liquidy creme brulee to pour on top. It was good, but I think I prefer regular french toast better. I also like my French toast a little more gooey...many restaurants don't soak the bread long enough to make it gooey in the middle, and this place is no exception. However, don't get me wrong, it was still tasty, and they get points for creativity! I'd come back again, and would definitely go straight for the quiche!
(4)Diane M.
Good sized portions. Delicious food all fresh and not greasy. Had Belgian waffle and ham amazing.
(5)Jane H.
Today was our first time here. Food was very good but the highlight is the great service! Mardy really worked hard but was always friendly and smiling. She knew the customers by names too. I will be going back here the next time I'm in town for sure!
(4)Janie C.
We are locals and eat here at least twice a week. It is a small cafe but is well worth any wait time. The menu is very American fare for breakfast and lunch. The food is wonderful and creative. The owners are serious about using fresh ingredients and the daily board specials are always worth trying. When available, the owner makes the best homemade fried zucchini we've ever tasted. Open Wednesday thru Monday 7:00am - 2:00pm. Give it a try.
(5)Fern B.
This place was surprisingly good. I really wanted to give it a 3.5, but rounded up because the food really saves them. The Country Benedict was amazing! And, their potatoes with peppers and onions really hit the spot! The only downfall here can be the service. It's a tiny place and sometimes it just takes way too long even though there's usually no wait. The waitresses are just slow. If you go too early it's worse because the waitresses don't come in until later in the day and the older lady that owns the place does everything herself. So just make sure you got time!

Just had breakfast at Orange Cafe. They say good things come in small packages...and this Cafe is no exception. I had the corned beef hash. Yummmm! Will definitely be back.
(5)Kate K.
Alright, so this was an interesting experience. The food was good, and definitely had the local diner appeal. There's not much parking, so you may have to park somewhere and hike on over to the Cafe, but the food is pretty good. What My Buddies Ordered: Breakfast Burrito with egg whites only, and I got some good reviews on it (big tortilla, fresh ingredients, but under-cooked egg inside); Sausage and Eggs with toast, they forgot the toast, but when it came out at the end of the meal it was pretty good. What I Ordered: A Waffle Combo, with Bananas-- the waffle was nothing special, the bananas were fresh and the maple syrup was alright. We all got coffee and agreed that although it is a little light for us (I prefer the Lavazza that they serve at Cafe Cup in Huntington Beach), but delicious none the less. The weird part about this was when we were done with our food-- I prefer to sit around, drink some more coffee and chat. Sometimes, I understand that this might be a little annoying because there are people waiting, buuuuuut I'm selfish and I really want to socialize and enjoy my breakfast time with friends. HOWEVER, when we were done with the food, the waitress came by twice to ask if we were done (they had already cleared the plates), she didn't ask if we wanted more coffee and tried to rush us out the door... when there was absolutely zero people waiting to be sat. That is completely ridiculous. I felt so pushed around, and like she thought her job was over with us once the plates were cleared, that I doubt I will ever be returning. Feel free to check it out, but there are plenty of other places with comparable prices and better coffee that are welcoming and allow you to sit down and enjoy your morning.

I've been there a couple times for breakfast. I was just here last week and I can't even remember what I ate............ I guess that kinda sums up the place....... just pretty average and not very memorable! It looks like the just finished a mini makeover of the place.. the walls were empty with a small sign that said the license plates that use to cover the wall would 'be back soon'. We sat out front where they have a couple tables. Service was friendly, but very slow. The place was busy! Our food was OK... not bad, not great.... certainly not memorable. The one thing I noticed is the place is a few bucks more than similar breakfast spots! Breakfast for 2 was $30. For $30 bucks.... I should at least remember what I ate!
(3)David C.
Just stopped in and server was on the phone. We sat ourselves and proceeded to wait while she was on her call. After waiting for about 5 minutes, we got tired of waiting and went to ihop across the street. Poor customer service. I would give zero stars if I could.
(1)Lynn N.
After reading all the good reviews, my boyfriend and I finally decided to try this place. It was beyond our expectations. Mandy, the owner was super sweet and she was very attentive. Her service made us love this place even more. The food was amazing. Although we only got simple breakfast plates, we could tell there was love and care put into them. We're definitely going to be regulars here.
(5)Shinobu K.
After reading so many good reviews of this place, I had to try it. Considering it's also a none franchised place. The kind place I like to support. Went in early Sunday afternoon, there were a couple of tables vacant still, we were seated right away. Great!! Dad ordered a breakfast croissant w/ sausage and eggs, Mom had creme brulee french toast, nephew got pancake w/ eggs/sausage, I had crab cake egg Benedict. Food toook almost 1/2 hour to arrive. Croissant was huge, good. Recommended. French toast was great! Nephew told me the pancakes was great, the portion was so huge that even a big eater like him was only able to finish half of it. My crab cake egg Benedict was OK, the crab cake was something you could buy from a supermarket, nothing special (OK, I'm a big fan of crab cakes and I had traveled to Maryland many times for superb crab cakes, also making my own from scratch at home, so perhaps more critical!!??). Why 3 stars then? The service was only so so at the best, waitress came to take your order, brought you the food, that's it, never once asked how things were.. Also, the place was super noisy . I understand it's busy, but the noise level was annoying.. Conclusion, OK to great food, poor service, not so great eating environment. I did not enjoy the atmosphere. Perhaps I'll try again next time during weekdays in the afternoon, when it's less crowded.

Decades old diner (a little creakiness) puts emphasis on delightful breakfast food -- this spot is popular on weekends. French Toast Creme Brulee combo, I love the drizzled vanilla bean flavor. It will add a few miles to your bod, but it's worth driving tens of miles to get here for it. I wish the cooks didn't have thirty other plates to contend with, perhaps a little extra crispy love on the edges would have made it aces. Pair any breakfast plate with a large tin Chocolate Shake! Yummyholics can enjoy it for $3.60! Bacon & Eggs has me pegged, too. #cheapeats

I absolutely love this place. Went here last Saturday morning, at around 11 AM. I'm sure I missed the breakfast/brunch crowd, seeing as I was able to get a table for 4 when I first got there. I didn't get her name, but the Asian waitress was very friendly and attentive once she got to our table. I will admit, it was hard to flag her down at times, but she made up for it with excellent service every time she was at our table. Like others have said, it's like being a family member or friend's house for breakfast. Now the food. I am a big breakfast/brunch person. I freaking LOVE the food here. I had the chicken fried steak with home fries. The gravy that it comes with is just amazing. Just rich and creamy and the perfect remedy for a hangover. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and not mushy or overcooked. There's so much more I want to try, and I will definitely be coming back.
(5)Gabby V.
For a really small place this is great '! The food was delicious. I don't really care about how elegant or nice looking the place is as long as the food is good. But one thing I would recommend is have more waiters/waitress's. That way everybody is attended quickly and gets what thy need
(4)Valerie H.
Yes it's a hole in the wall...even though they're remodeling, but NO it's not a diamond in the rough. There is absolutely nothing special about this place. I cook a better breakfast at home that actually has...what is it...oh ya... flavor! I'm blown away that this place has 4 stars somehow. I would have rather eaten at the IHOP down the street. We went with a group of 8, so there was obviously a variety of food ordered. Every dish was blah. The pancakes were ALMOST good, but a little too chewy and you had to really search for the flavor. The pregnant waitress wasn't too pleasant either. She was actually pretty rude in the way she dealt with us at first. Body language and the tone of your voice says a lot. But I must say, she was nice and helpful toward the end when I asked for a warm bowl of water to heat a bottle...maybe she was finally working for the tip? Who knows. But if you're a regular (which I'm not sure why there are regulars...maybe for the coffee?) they seem to love you. Bottom line, I do not recommend. There is a myriad of better breakfast places than this joint.

I was visiting a friend living in Anaheim and she mentioned the Orange Cafe for breakfast. I am an avid breakfast fan, so I was excited to check this place out after reading a few reviews here. A small restaurant, hidden in an old, tiny strip mall - the place was crowded at around 10:30am and the seating inside didn't look like it could accomodate my stroller, so we sat outside. With the amount of people coming in and out of this place, I thought this place had to be quite promising. A simple menu with a variety of different breakfast items, from omelettes to French toast. Now, I'm an East Coast girl and I am a sucker for breakfast sandwiches. It is almost impossible to find a comparable breakfast sandwich in Southern California. In New York, it is my go to comfort food breakfast...bacon, fried egg and cheese on a croissant. It doesn't get any better. I must say that the breakfast croissant at this place was pretty comparable...gooey, comforty, goodness. Definitely, not something I'd consider a healthy option, but hey, sometimes it doesn't have to be healthy! An upgrade to chain restaurants, the Orange Cafe offered simple, yet classic breakfast options - kind of making it a throw back to an old school cafe. Service was attentive and despite the amount of diners in the place, we didn't wait very long for our food. I'd definitely return to try other items on their menu. A fun little local joint!
(4)Virginia L.
First time visit and it was amazing! Split the day's special with my husband: Chorizo Eggs Benedict and Creme Brule French Toast. Both were fantastic and can't wait to go back and try more! Love, love, loved it!
(5)Annjanett N.
Their Spinach bacon quiche was excelent. I have to say their portions are gianormous... go really hungry or share! Nice place, great services, fresh food. Plates are decently priced 9 - 12 bucks for dish.
(5)Suzanne H.
This was our second time here and we are hooked! The crab cake Eggs Benedict came recommended by our son & we must say that we are happy to have taken his advice! Wow! Wonderful and the service was excellent! I didn't catch her name but she has a 5 month old baby boy. I'm sure we will be getting to know her because we will be requesting her when we go back next Sunday
(5)Shane G.
Short : Great food but you need to may awkwardly wait where there is no real designated waiting spot. i would give this place 4.5 stars if i could. Long: I have been to this place around 10 times and I would always order the country fried steak which I split with my girl friend. It is a good portion for a decent price with exceptional food. We would usually order it over the phone and pick it up and only once we had an issue but unlike some other reviews we never had bad service. If you are looking for a good hole in the wall then this is a good place to go to. I moved to Denver and this is one of the few things I crave. 4.5/5 stars only because their store set up can be a bit awkward and not functional.
(5)Donna V.
This is one of my family's favorite weekend breakfast spots. They're always busy and sometimes it can take a little time to get a table, but it is well worth the wait. It's a little place that has a decent menu of standard issue breakfast items. All of which are great! They also have 2 chalk boards of specials. I always try to order off of these, because they're reasonably priced yummies that are in limited supply. Pumpkin pancakes, Chorizo eggs benedict, Creme brulee french toast. Yum, yum and yum. The portions are big, the staff is friendly and the place always seems to be filled with regulars.
(5)Lori M.
Where can you find home style potatoes that are creamy on the inside but lightly crunchy on the outside, complete with trimmings of sauteed onions and bell peppers? Where can you find omelets full of goodies but with eggs whipped to lightness? Where can you find fresh spinach sauteed into your eggs instead of frozen green glop? Ask Chatty Kathy, the waitress. She'll tell you Orange Cafe. She'll also have to give you directions since it is on a small side street in a nondescript and tiny strip mall. We would not have found it without sheer luck. Heck, we weren't even looking for it. After one breakfast, we have no trouble making our way back. The cooks in the back move as quickly as they can, but this place is packed every time we go there. We see the same patrons time and time again, so it must be a local favorite. So, turn on your nav, punch in the address, and get lucky by stopping at Orange Cafe. Ask for Kathy. She is moving fast but, if you are friendly, will stop and say hi. She will recognize you when you come back in. Mostly, stop in and rest a while. This isn't fast food, but it is fresh, it is made with care, and it tastes really good. Diner food with a bit of love, we heart you, Orange Cafe.
(4)Gary T.
My wife and I had breakfast here. We got there early on and shared the place with only a few other customers. Before we left, the place was hoppin'. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with home fries, eggs over medium and a bagel with cream cheese. Everything on the plate was excellent except the eggs weren't cooked medium. However, I chose not to send them back so won't fault the restaurant. I also liked that my cream cheese was not frozen to the point of not being able to spread it. One person (the owner?) waited, served and bussed all the tables. Nice pleasant atmosphere and we'll definitely return.

Came here for a party of four around 11:15 on a Saturday morning. It was really crowded inside already. Seating inside was terrible -- extremely and annoyingly loud. It is also very tight inside and you will literally walk out of there smelling like food. I hate that! Luckily for us, however, we found a table right outside -- away from the craziness inside. The food was okay, serving was huge. In fact, I did not finish the Spinach, Bacon, Mushroom and Cheese Omelette that I ordered. However, my omelette was a little bland and I had to overload it with hot sauce and pepper to give it some taste. My husband got the burger and was satisfied. Our friends ordered omelettes as well and were satisfied. I knocked off two stars, because: 1) Inside seating was horribly tight and annoyingly loud. Luckily we were seated outside. 2) However, seating outside exposed us to flies since we went during summer time and it was starting to warm up around that time. 3) Last and definitely the reason why I am giving them 3 stars --- the food took forever. For the taste, I didn't think it was worth waiting 40 mins. Price was good, but I don't think I'll be coming back.
(3)Marco H.
I tried this place out for a second time and I like it more than the first time. The main reason was that I have more respect now for the Asian lady who is a server. I walked over to this place with my parents, wife and daughter to have them try it out. We wanted to sit outside as we had a stroller that we wanted to keep our daughter in. We waited while another family finished up and left. In the meantime, another family came and were being total vultures about taking our table. We had been waiting for about 30 minutes and they had been there a total of 2 minutes. They tried taking our table and the server told them that we had been waiting for over twenty minutes and we were getting this table as they had just arrived and need to wait their turn - YEAH!!! Needless to say this impatient family left to some other place. I am most definitely coming back with that kind of service.
(4)Jess E.
Came here for brunch a few weeks ago. Place is pretty small so we waited quite a while for a seat. Had the chicken fried steak which is my safe go to breakfast meal. Above average. Not enough servers working so can be slow. the GF had quiche which was good. Would go again.
(3)Dylan T.
I live really close by and wanted to try a new breakfast spot. Arrived before noon to a long line outside. It was not apparent where to sign up for the waiting list, so after waiting a couple minutes without any staff coming out, I went inside to handle it. Then some guy walks in saying that people who arrived after he did were being seated first. The waitress apologized and said they would seat him right away. After waiting about 15 minutes, my girlfriend noticed that people who arrived after us were being seated first. After going in to complain, the waitress apologized and offered us seats at the counter, which doubled as a work space. Not a long wait for the food. The California Omelette was pretty standard. Potatoes slightly above average. Good toast and coffee. Slightly above average meal. Unfortunately the power turned off and the AC wouldn't turn back on, and it was pretty warm that day. Also I discovered a small metal nail under my potatoes. They comped the omelette. Excusing the freak accidents, the food is probably better than average. The staff seemed prone to mistakes. I don't intend on coming back. I think they should have comped the entire meal given how bad the experience was.

This place is so delicious! The staff may seem a bit unfriendly, but that's because they are busting their butt helping everyone else and they do an amazing job. I will only say that it's sort of a bummer to have to pay extra to have hashbrowns instead of meat if you are a vegetarian. It won't break the bank, but how much is a potato in comparison to bacon or sausage? Try to avoid obvious breakfast times on the weekend if you want to find a table. This place is deservedly popular.

Great quality. Great price. Great coffee. That's all I need to say... Best breakfast anywhere...that's right I said anywhere...

Extremely unhappy with my experience here at this small eatery. My girlfriend and I waited a long time to be seated even though they had 3 open tables clearly ready. When we asked to be seated, (the second time!!) the lady said "ok yea whatever, seat them, hurry up" to the seating hostess who seems to be her daughter. The food took an eternity to get to us. After a 30 min wait, they brought us our food... And they forget a pancake... I ordered the three pancake combo, but only got 2 pancakes... At checkout, they get our total wrong because they are still using calculators to add up the total. Also, this was on New Years Day and there were signs all around saying they were open until 1pm. At 12:20 one of the waitresses turns the sign on the door to Closed and Turns off the Open light. Between that time and 1pm, 3 separate families walked in, and we're turned away. Very poor service, which is a shame because the food was good. Wanted to make this our new spot in Orange, but we are never going back

This place isn't on the beaten path (Tustin Ave), but it is a well visited diner. The small parking lot (but there is street parking) can give you an idea of how busy they are.. especially on weekends), but the staff really does try to take care of you promptly and efficiently. There's only about a dozen tables (seats maybe 50 max) and the noise level can really rise when they are busy... hard floor, hard tables, hard chairs (no booths/benches) make the place loud since there is no 'soft' materials in the diner to help absorb the sounds. The food is good and the portions are good sized too. They also have a 'frequent eater' card that will come in handy.
(4)Michael C.
This place has horrible service. Arrived at 930am and ordered at 10am and didn't receive food until 1040am. Who's going to wait over an hour to eat brunch? I might as well have went to eat lunch at this point. Food was decent but definitely NOT worth the wait and horrible customer service.
(1)Laura S.
I love coming here. The food is excellent. The people are friendly. The service is superior. The place is always full. The portions are generous. You might have to wait, the have chairs outside for people waiting. But if you are a party of one you can sit at the counter. Did I say I love this place.
(5)Carrie D.
Good food, good service. Had the English muffin breakfast sandwich with bacon and hubby had typical breakfast combo. Hash-browns were crispy on top and pancake had a vanilla flavor, simply delicious!! Will be back.
(4)Ysabelle M.
YUM! The bf and I found a hidden gem..! This place is so cute and has a homey feel to it. They have amazing service and they are very accommodating! It was raining but there wasn't any room inside so we opted to sit outside, but the lady said they could move us inside as soon as a table opened up. They did right away, which I thought was really nice. The food was delicious :) I had the strawberry stuffed french toast and the boy had the swiss mushroom bacon omelet? THEY WERE BOTH YUMMY! The only thing I wish the waitress told us the specials because I didn't see them on the board until after we got our food... They have creme brulee french toast too! Ahhhh definitely not a place to go if you're on a diet (; but it's SO GOOD! It seems like there are a lot of regulars too...
(4)Michelle S.
Food is amazing. Went back three other times. Its a small shop so servers are attentive and nice. Will definitely try to come back
(5)Gary A.
I make sure I go to this place every time I'm in the OC. The food is excellent and fresh. Everything is so good, but I can't get enough of the breakfast burrito.
(5)Martin A.
I eat out a lot, and am always in search of a good place for breakfast on the weekends. I also travel between Orange County and the Portland area pretty regularly. Hands down, this is the best place for breakfast that I've found in both areas. The food is great. The prices are reasonable. I rarely have to wait for a table, and when I do, the wait to sit down is short. Because they make everything to order, the food does not come as quickly as at a fast food place, but the wait time is worth it given the quality and taste of the food. Although not a huge deal, they do serve their cold drinks with "soft" ice, which I always like as well. --- UPDATED: This place has become so popular that wait times are now considerable on the weekend. You can wait 30 minutes to sit and another 45 minute for food. The food is still great. Prices seem higher now as well. Still worth it. :)
(5)Joel C.
We had a long wait to be seated, but once we were the service was prompt, and our food arrived quickly. The coffee was good, the menu had variety, and the portions were large. I'd visit again if I didn't have to deal with the long wait time.
(4)Chelsea R.
Such a cute little place! Come here twice twice this week the food is so good. Reminds me of a good home cooked. Punter style breakfast. I would have given five stars but I feel it could be cleaner.
(4)Amber H.
Got here around 9 and sat down right away. It's loud if there are a lot of people. Service is great. My mom ordered eggs and bacon. The eggs were cooked perfect. I ordered the country fried steak. It was great. Comes on a biscuit like a sandwich. Gravy is really good. You might want to ask for extra if you can eat everything. It's a lot of food if you get a side as well. I got fruit as my side and it all looked fresh as if picked this morning. If I lived in the area I would come back all the time.
(4)Sharlena H.
Absolutely amazing!! Definitely deserves 5 starts, the food was incredible!! Especially the Creme brulee French toast.. Unbelievably good! It's small and the service is alright but the food makes up for it!

My husband and I tried out Orange Cafe for the first time this past 4th of July. First off, we called IN ADVANCE to make sure they were open. Whoever picked up the phone told us they were open until 1pm. We got there at noon, walked in and one of the servers tells us that they're closed!! DESPITE the fact that there was also a sign on the door that said they were closing at 1pm. Luckily my husband asked another server and she confirmed that it was open until 1pm. We barely got seated outside, and waited for what seemed like awhile to get our food. Food itself was okay, but not anything special. Fast forward to about two weeks ago. We thought we'd give it another try, since we live nearby and needed to eat sooner rather than later, as we had a prior engagement at 2pm. We get to the cafe at 12:15pm. We got seated outside again, which was fine. The problem was we waited over ONE HOUR AFTER ORDERING, to get our food!! They weren't even particularly too busy! At about 1:15pm, when our server FINALLY came out for the FIRST TIME AFTER we've been seated to refill our coffee mugs, I asked when the food will be out. She went in to go check, comes back out and says it will be a few minutes. Are you kidding me?!?! After already waiting an hour?! Five minutes goes by, still no food. Finally the owner came out to clean the table behind us, to which I said quite loudly, "excuse me, we've been waiting more than an hour for our food." She then goes inside to check up on it, comes out and tells us it'll be another minute and a half!!! ON TOP of waiting FOREVER, she brings the food out and says absolutely nothing! No apology, no acknowledgement for the wait time, NOTHING! WHAT POOR customer service, especially as an owner of a restaurant! BTW, how did I keep such accurate track of time you ask? A) We were now running late for our 2pm engagement and B.) Never leave a hungry, pregnant woman waiting over an hour for her food!! I'm originally from OC, but we moved down from San Francisco about a year ago, where the food is AMAZING anywhere you go and the people and customer service is superb! Let me tell you, I have never experienced such crap service ever, as we did here! Needless to say, we will never be going back!! Thank GOD Broken Yolk just opened up off Chapman!! Which is awesome, since I used to go there all the time back when I was at college at UCSD. Lesson to be learned: if you don't want other potential customers to leave before they even get seated, treat the ones you have already seated, RIGHT! They lost a party of 5 and a party of 2, simply because I was livid and shouted that we were waiting for more than an hour!
(1)Harby A.
Are you kidding me?! This is one excellent breakfast spot in Orange. The ambience is cool, the service was fast and the food was super delucious. I steongly recommend it, and definately comming back. Visit time:Thu. April 17 @ 10:30am.

I was having a hard time finding crabcake benedict in socal, until I found this place. I could not be any happier. My cousin and I shared the omelet and the crabcake benedict and we were beyond full!
(5)Chriss L.
absolutely amazing quiche- light, fluffy, flavorful. hubbs loved his corned beef hash. Good bacon. Prices were right. Problemas? Pancakes were chewy (I don't like chewy), and tasted like mix (I like from scratch). Orange juice tastes like Tampico or Sunny D mixed with frozen concentrate stuff. "home fries" are deep fried potato hunks with sauteed onions on top and a tiny bit of bell pepper too. I threw-up 15 minutes after eating here. I have no idea what caused it, but I felt nauseated getting into the car, and had to pull over at a fast food restaurant to barf in their bathroom. The quiche didn't look tasty- the spinach was almost brown, but it didn't taste "off", it was the total opposite. I wouldn't order the quiche or the homefries or the OJ again--- just to be safe. No one else got sick, so it might have been something for just my plate.
(4)Arnold W.
Busy place on a Sunday morning. Food is pretty good, service is friendly. The food is really hearty and you'll end up stuffed. I had the potato pancakes as recommended by someone outside waiting. It tasted like a hash brown/potato cake. You can't really go wrong with breakfast.
(4)Nick H.
Nice little home-style cafe. It will remind you of being at grandma's when you were a kids. The unique setting is similar to a coffee shop you might stop by in one of those movies about old Route 66. The food is AOK and the service is great. The menu items are pretty typical for what you might expect at breakfast. They do have specials posted on the wall. Overall, a good place to eat.
(3)Maggie C.
My favorite meal of the day is breakfast so I didn't say no when few people forced me to go to this cafe. What a nice service. Everyone here was happy and nice. I never had to ask anything twice. Ordered Gourmet Omelette Delight something. It had sprouts, cheese, avocado and tomatoes. It came with hashbrown and toasts. 3 stars. My orange juice was not fresh squeezed =( Wish it was better. 3 stars because the service was 5 stars!! Orange Cafe is kinda yummylicious!!
(3)Clay O.
This place is great. It's classic American mom and pop diner. The previous owners were a cute older couple. Husband was the cook and wife the waitress. With a menu full of great classics like a chili cheese omelet. The current owners have kept the same tradition and atmosphere and the food is just as good as ever.
(5)Robin W.
Cute breakfast place in an unassuming strip mall in Orange. The food was very hearty and good. They had deep fried french toast which was good for a bite or two but got quickly cloying. I will definitely return for the delicious eggs and potatoes. Great find.
(4)Cristalle C.
We just went here for a family birthday breakfast. I had the Chorizo Benedict, which was a special written on the chalkboard. It definitely wasn't healthy but OMG it was the most amazing benedict I have EVER had. One of the owners thought it up - soooo good. The chorizo benedict was on an english muffin with cream cheese, avocado, a poached egg drizzled with a creamy benedict sauce with chorizo in it. I opted for the homestyle potatoes - which are fried chunks of yummieness - as my side. Needless to say, I 'll be having protein shakes and salads in lieu of meals for the next 3 days, but this was so worth it. Next time, I'm going to try the Creme Brulee French Toast, but I'll probably get another Chorizo Benedict on the side :) It was THAT good. My husband liked the fact that the owners were on site and walked around the dining room, asking about how the food was. The owner asked me about the benedict, as it was new on the menu. We like family run joints, so we will be coming here again.

Absolutely love this place! Every time we've been here, the experience was fantastic. We've had almost everything on the menu and never been disappointed.

I was flying solo after getting the oil changed in my car. I was hungry and bored so I checked Yelp for breakfast places. Orange Cafe came up almost on top and I had read a few other blogger reviews on it, so that made it an easy choice. The restaurant is small and can fill up very quickly. I must have gotten lucky because I was able to sit right away. I looked over the menu and almost got the corned beef hash and eggs but then I saw vanilla bean creme brulee french toast. Creme brulee being one of my favorite desserts it was my pick. The order came with eggs and bacon or sausage, I went with one and one. I got my eggs scrambled and they were fluffy, light and cooked just right. The bacon was crisp and not greasy. The sausage was full of flavor and snapped when bit into. The star of this meal was the creme brulee french toast. This was a classicly cooked french toast but instead of syrup it is served with a creme brulee sauce. All I can say is Oh Em Ge! This was some of the best french toast I have ever had. The french toast it self was not soggy by any means and had a slight toast to it. This made the bread very easy to cut with a fork and I could taste the flavor of this soft bread. The creme brulee sauce was drizzled over the four slices and Orange Cafe also provides an extra small cup of this sauce with the caramelized sugar top. Breaking the sugar top and pouring this liquid goodness all over the french toast made this an over the top breakfast. As rich as this sounds, it was not. In fact this sauce was just the right amount of sweetness.

I enjoyed the breakfast very much. This is an old school family dinner with good hearty good. If you are looking for a place with a certain level of ambiance. This is not the place. But if you just want a really good American breakfast , you will enjoy it very much.
(4)Adam V.
Ordered the Sausage and Egg Combo breakfast. The food came out great! Service is super. The only complaint I have is the noise that is cause in the kitchen. Can be very distracting when having a conversation but other than that, love this place.

I found this little gem while Yelping for breakfast, and decided to give it a try with wifey. Just so you all know, I think The Griddle Cafe in LA is the best I've had in...almost forever and have been searching for something that I can leave satisfied from in the OC. Well, this place is a keeper. The location is rather nondescript and out of the way, but the breakfast was great. I ordered the strawberry and cream cheese stuffed pancakes, and they were very good. The two pancakes had fresh strawberry and cream cheese between and topped with a good dollop of whip cream. I asked for more and the waitress was happy to oblige. My over easy eggs and the fat sausage links were perfect, and (I'm not a coffee snob) the coffee was good--strong and a good complement the pancakes. My wife got the French toast combo and it was great. Often, it's either too dry and chewy or too soggy, but hers had a slight crunchy/chewiness with a good soft inside that wasn't soggy. A+!! Also, they have a deal card where you get a stamp for each $10 dollars spent and then a free entree for the 13th (?). We came out of there at $30 even including tip, OJ, coffee and two good-portioned dishes. Yeah, not scrawny size pancakes like at the Pancake House! It's not too far so it'll be my breakfast spot when I'm craving good ole fashioned American breakfast.

Yelpers have taken such good care of me in the past so I decided to take my family to Orange Cafe this morning for breakfast. Being a Sunday it was busy with families so we had to wait awhile but nothing too long. Once we were seated our server was quick with the coffee and taking our order, since it was our first time I asked and got a good recommendation for the Mixed Berry waffle it was good. But other than that the service was very slow throughout the entire meal and the quality was poor. My wife ordered and omelette that was bland and her hashbrowns tasted like they were fried in old rancid oil. The atmosphere was quaint and I ran into an old friend I hadn't seen in years, but I won't be going back to Orange Cafe any time soon.

Stopped in for breakfast on a Friday morning, no place to park, ended up doing an errand before eating, (never shop while hungry at a bakery). Came back about 8:30 and found a spot to park on the street, took a just a few minutes for a table to clear. Food was great, solid no complaints, and I know we will be back. For some reason we had trouble getting hot water for tea. They brought out little teapots, but when Lipton tea fails to get dark, the water is not much more than warm. Well worth giving a try, keep in mind limited parking and seating.
(4)Christian J.
Found this place on Yelp. This place is a great hole on the wall. Inside the place is plain. They need some backround music playing. The food taste great and portions are a good size. The service was friendly and promt.

So the plan had been to have pancakes at the newly opened Flappy Jack's right by my house. Unfortunately, found out the hard way that aforementioned Flappy Jack's would not be opening for at least another month. Desperate for my morning pancake fix, I turned to Yelp and found this very charming breakfast/brunch joint (located, of course, in a very random somewhat sketchy looking strip mall). Breakfast for two today consisted of: Californian omelette: with ham, cheese, and topped with generous thick slices of avocado, paired with fresh fruit and toast Peaches and cream pancakes: two fluffy pancakes sandwiching freshly sliced peaches and mildly sweet cream, topped with powdered sugar Not the speediest place ever, but servers are very friendly and pleasant, and willing to try and accommodate for various dietary needs. PS: Try asking for the Belgian waffles anyway even if it's past 11am - they might still have some left ;)
(4)Leisha M.
OK, my new favorite is the Eggs Benedict with Chorizo Hollandaise sauce. This item appears on the specials board and isn't available every day. The English muffin has a smear of cream cheese, with avocado and the egg on top and sits on a bed of spinach. The eggs are what you would expect, but the sauce is the deal maker. It isn't heavy with chorizo, but has great flavor from the sausage being crumbled into the sauce. It isn't smothered in sauce, but there is enough sauce to soak up some with your potatoes. I love ordering the orange juice here as well. It makes me feel like I am little again and tastes just like the juice my mom squeezed freshly every morning.
(5)Barry F.
Every city should have a place like Orange Cafe. Friendly, Welcoming, Clean, with a nice menu and quick service,
(5)Daniel D.
Another good spot to stop by when I am in Orange. It's a nice little hole in the wall breakfast place. The strawberry stuffed french toast was nice and the corned beef hash is a favorite of mine every time! Service has always been great. It's a little hard to find if you don't know exactly where to look, but well worth seeking out for a nice quiet breakfast.
(4)Patricia N.
I went here recently with my little brother to have brunch. He ordered the Florentine Scramble and the California Omelet, while I ordered the Country Benedict. The service was a tiny bit slow, but the food was definitely worth the wait! The food was so amazingly good! The atmosphere there was so cozy and decor was pretty cool. Portions are pretty big for a relatively good price.
(4)Big J.
Wow the breakfast here is amazing!Maybe the best I have ever had in a restaurant. The service was good as well.I will be coming back for sure.
(5)Melissa M.
My favorite breakfast place. I love everything I have ever eaten here. I just wish the place was a bit bigger so it isn't so hard to get a table on the weekend (but really just the peak hours are difficult.... We go lots of times kinda early & no problem with getting seated)
(5)Ruth F.
I went on a Saturday morning and it wasn't too busy. I went with a party of eight and called before. They were very accommodating. Their quiche was delicious.
(5)Julia B.
Seriously...BEST breakfast in Orange County! Hubby and I came here after a stay in Anaheim and I am so glad I found this place on yelp. It is very small inside..probably about 15 tables and 3 or 4 outside so you might have to wait a bit to get in. The menu is limited but they have the basic breakfast food items including omelettes, bacon, biscuits and gravy and a whole waffle menu. We decided to get waffles..I got the strawberry banana one which was amazing. The strawberries were really fresh and tasty, the crunch of the waffles was perfect and my hubby's chocolate chip waffle had just the right amount of chocolate. The staff is really friendly and you can tell that there are a lot of regulars that come here. I will definitely be coming back when I'm in the area again.
(5)Chelsea A.
Love this place! Perfect little brunch spot. The homemade quiche is so amazing, but sells out fast! Everything on the menu is good especially the creme brule french toast-- to die for! If you haven't tried this place, you need to! Service is great. It has a very family oriented feel. :)
(5)Elle G.
I love Orange Cafe. It's a small place in a hole-in-the-wall strip mall, but don't be fooled. It's charming and just right. A refreshing change from bigger, noisier, more crowded restaurants. Their menu is just big enough to give you options but not so expansive that it's hard to figure out what to order. Their prices are OK. Breakfast is amazing; love coming here Sunday mornings. Creme brulee french toast is a *must-order* and the biscuits and gravy are outstanding! (And way better than Arthur's biscuits and gravy down the street.) My eggs are always done right and the bacon is perfect. The strawberry lemonade and blueberry lemonade are super fun and unique. Their drinks come in big sizes so you get a lot for your money and don't need to wait for refills. The service is always very friendly, very attentive and very fast. Try Orange Cafe for breakfast--I'm sure you'll get hooked too!
(5)Ken P.
Great food. Great staff. Home fries to die for. Corned beef hash very tasty. Chorizo Benedict OMG. THANKS YELP UNIVERSE.
(5)Bryan H.
Bad customer service. Would never go back. Was told to sit down by a nice older lady then a grumpy asian lady said we were not on the list that we had to get out of our seats after we already made our drink order. We just got up and left after that. they made the mistake, we paid for it. Another bunk small business.
(1)Minga T.
Decided to try something different and my Buddy was game. Found this gem of a breakfast joint off of Yelp. Orange Cafe is a little hole in the wall. It definitely gets its business from locals. It's slightly hidden away and easy to miss. My friends initial reaction was that I was out of my mind. The cafe is not much in appearance, but to me that doesn't matter. Don't get me wrong, I like atmosphere; however, I came for the food. It offers all the classics and few of their own spins off the classics. Huge portions and the food was very good. Service is very friendly. I had the Crab Benedict and I look forward to trying the other menu items in the future.
(5)Angel N.
Came here because I yelped the best breakfast in Orange County... My bf and I initially went to Omelette House first, but the wait was so long, so we drove over to Orange Cafe instead. Small diner like place. Definitely a local joint. I knew off the bat who Chatty Kathy was without her even introducing herself... she was nice and attentive when she served us. I specifically stated i wanted the spinach & bacon omelette ( usually it'd come with mushrooms) . but ended getting the mushrooms too -___-. That made the omelette difficult to eat, even when i took the time to pick out all the mushrooms. Bf ordered the bacon and eggs combo... the bacon looked... weird. like it has been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile because it no longer possessed the dark red and oily features bacon usually has... instead it was like a dry pink .... It's priced like any other breakfast place... I wouldn't come back here again, especially since it's out of the way for me. Also, I really didn't find anything that would pull me back here.

Breakfast at a cafe is just that...right? Usually something I can make better at home, but am too lazy to do. Well...not at Orange Cafe. After reading Yelp reviews, my daughter and I decided to try out this sweet little place while in the area visiting relatives. When we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly waitress who seated us promptly. As we looked over the menu, we were overwhelmed by the many choices and surprised by the reasonable cost. We ended up ordering hash browns, bacon, poached eggs, biscuits and gravy (aka Country Benedict) and fruit. I don't know if the hash was made from scratch or was canned, but it was DELISH!! Nice and crisp on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection...something that is hard to do. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best we have ever had. The soft, fluffy biscuit was topped with a sausage patty and smothered in a yummy gravy. The fruit was fresh and sweet. When I asked the waitress about it, she explained that the owner pays more money for better fruit. In other restaurants I've paid more money for some pretty flavorless fruit. Normally, I terrible stomach pains when I eat breakfast out. Eating at Orange Cafe was one of the few times my tummy left a happy camper and STAYED happy! If you haven't eaten at Orange Cafe, I suggest you do. You won't be disappointed.

This is the best place for breakfast in all of Orange County. This being our regular breakfast spot, we go once every week or two to relax on a Sunday. Everything on the menu is great, but our favorites are the eggs benedict, country benedict, pancakes and blueberry pancakes (and pumpkin pancakes). Their eggs are always great (not overcooked and brown like at Ihop or Denny's!) and their sausage links are to die for. We've even had their fried zucchini for breakfast; their zucchini is sliced in rounds not planks like other places, so you get a great piece of zucchini that's nicely breaded and fried instead of watery. The service is always great and they keep your coffee and drinks topped up at all times. The only thing I want personally is for them to add some seasoned salt to the home fries. I've been tempted to bring my own but I always forget because I'm just too excited to go have breakfast to remember! If you're looking for a great breakfast spot, skip the Ihop and Arthur's on the same street and go to Orange Cafe! PS: I've been going here almost every weekend and just now noticed that Brandi and Jarrod's (from Storage Wars) thrift shop is right across the street. lol

This place may not be perfect, but it is really good. Orange Cafe used to be owned by this guy named Mo. He worked in the kitchen and did a great job. New owners came in about 1 - 2 years ago. At first, we though the place was going to go down hill fast. The new owners have actually kept the quality. We come here about once per month. They are pretty patient with our two ill mannered boys. If we are lucky, the boys will be content with coloring until we get our food. The boys really like the panda pancakes! I LOVE corned beef hash and eggs. Orange Cafe does a good job with it. They cook the hash enough to be crispy on the outside. The same goes for their home fries. I get them "Irish" style with peppers and onions. It is all good. I think this place is definitely a couple notches above what I typically think of as a chain diner - i.e. Denny's, Coco's, etc. It is a neighborhood place where friends and family go on a week end morning for a really good breakfast that is going to last you the entire morning.
(4)Mark W.
I saw this place in a strip mall just off of Tustin Blvd. as I was driving by and decided to stop in and give it a try. Walking in, it hits you as a local small diner; black and white tile floors, license plates on the walls, etc. The menu is limited; burgers, some sandwiches, and breakfast food, but you can find something to eat. The staff is friendly and the food is good at a good price. You can tell that a lot of the customers are regulars and the staff knows them. This is a well kept secret in the city of Orange. Give it a try.
(4)Rebecca G.
I finally made it in here for lunch on Sunday. I had the turkey club sandwich on whole wheat bread. The turkey was good, the bread was okay and the bacon was disappointing. But the potato salad was AMAZING! I'm not a big eater of potato salad and I'm not even sure why I ordered it but I'm so glad I did! The potatoes are perfectly cooked with the skins left on, there's mustard blended in with the mayonnaise and plenty of dill and black pepper. Oh, and the portion size with the sandwich was generous without being overwhelming. I can easily see myself coming back just for an order to go!
(4)Colin K.
Perfect, old-school diner. The walls are covered with license plates and the employees are extremely friendly. Reminds me of the midwest. The food is exactly what you'd expect (in a good way). The one unique offering is the Denver potato pancake. Imagine Denver omelette fillings cooked into a perfectly seasoned potato pancake. Now stop imagining and go eat it.

Kinda ashamed of myself that I live in the fine city of orange and have never even heard of this place... My fav meal of the day is breakfast- Orange Cafe does it real well. I think the food is above average, the wait staff out of a texas truck stop, the decor new mexico diner route 66, overall a REAL DINER EXPERIENCE! Living in NY for 4 years I learned what a diner was, this is the closet Ive seen in oc fo sho. Omelet was fabulous, they knew what cooked soft meant, avocado was so buttery and plentiful, potatoes were 5 star, buttermilk pancake was also awesome. Pricing about like Kimmies, not exorbitant. I think the food is better than kimmies fyi. Owner made her rounds, real hospitality and care here... Only complaint was that they only had the pink fake sweetener, eeekk, cancer! Will be back to try lunch!

If I could give this place a zero I would. Showed up w a party of 3 for Sunday brunch. Waited 25 mins to be seated...no biggie I understand brunch gets packed. We sat I ordered a reg coke, both friends ordered water. They bring out diet coke...ok no biggie asked the waitress to change it. we ordered our food THEN we waited 45 mins for food!!! I counted 10 tables w no food on the table. 3 tables were eating. There were people ahead of us that had no food. If it wasn't for my soda we would had walked out & said nothing. Instead I get up & tell them we are sick of waiting I just want to pay for my soda. The Asian lady goes in the kitchen and says my order is next. I said if it doesn't come out in 5 mins we are leaving. I was starving and SUPER irritated at this point. We weren't even getting water or soda refills at this point. I noticed a party of 6 guys were sick of waiting & were gonna leave before the waitress finally brings their order out. Another couple easily sat for an hour before their food arrived. They were sitting outside long before we were seated. Two other tables walked out. Finally after 10 mins our food comes out. I inhaled mine and burned my tongue, I was famished at this point. Table sitting next to us of 4 people were seated before us. I told them I think my order came out first because I complained. Finally they complained & their food came out. They spoke about walking out. Their food even came out cold. Not once did I hear anyone apologize for the long wait. The only explanation I got from the Asian lady was " the large party in the corner threw the cook off. He's very frustrated". Uuuhh that is a terrible excuse. The "large" party was a party of 8!!!!! That's 2 tables of 4!!!! You've got to be kidding me!!! Your cook needs a new line of work! Food was nothing special. WONT BE COMING BACK! I suggest u go elsewhere!

The worst service I have ever experienced!!! Went there with my bf and the wait to sit down wasn't bad only 10 mins, but we waited for about 45 mins before we finally got fed up and walked out we were so sick of the wait. And on top of that the waitress wasn't even coming around to refill our drinks or apologize for the wait. We paid for ore OJ we ordered and left! Wish I could had tried the food but that wait and service was ridiculous

Nothin' special, nothin' terrible. Definitely wouldn't see this place featured on D,D&D. In fact, you might not see it (find it) at all if not for yelp or living very nearby! Anyway, it's your basic diner food, with basic diner service. I'm not a fan of toast buttered with a 4" paint brush- that's what you get here. And the wheat bread??? Yeah, a little darker than white bread, but definitely not 'whole' wheat. Maybe not a big deal for a hole-in-the-wall American diner? Just a little low-budget...... except that breakfast for 2 (breakfast burrito, veggie omelet, diet coke and coffee) was $23 before tip!? Given the overall cheap quality of the food, I'd have to pass at that price in the future.

Like: All-American diner style breakfast place!! Multi-state license plates on the wall. Diner coffee. Friendly attentive service. Malts (hand-spun)! Dislike: none.

Fabulous quaint neighborhood coffee shop with amazing breakfast. Good value. The bisquit and gravy was terrific as were the homestyle potatoes. Yummy fresh fruit on a perfectly cooked waffle. Terrific service with constantly freshened coffee. Will definitely return regularly.

Breakfast & Brunch are my favorite meals so when my roommate recommended a new place for me to try near our pad, I immediately Yelped it & found stunning reviews - & let me tell you Orange Cafe did not disappoint! We went on a Saturday morning around noonish & it was busy but not overwhelmingly so. It very much had diner feel with black & white checkered tiled & a collection of license plates covering the walls. Very homey & the space felt very open. I had read awesome reviews about the waffles, eggs benefict, pancake stacks, omlettes, etc & when I read the menu, it didn't make my decision any easier. I just felt like everything sounded delicious & was pretty affordable too. I'm somewhat of a breakfast purist though so for my first time I went with bacon & eggs with Irish style potatoes (in lieu of hash browns) & an english muffin on the side. The portions were great for the price & everything was hot, delicious & cooked just the way I loved it: crispy bacon, over medium eggs & the potatoes were crisp on the outside but fluffy inside. I left very full & very happy. My roommate got the stuffed french toast with strawberries. I personally stray away from ordering sweets for breakfast because I feel like places go into overkill with toppings & syrups but he let me try it & it was surprisingly quite balanced! Much less sweet than I anticipated & still very tastey. I definitely could see myself ordering this for myself in the future. The service was great as well. The waitresses were very attentive & kind. I will definitely be coming back regularly & agree with those who've said Orange Cafe really is a hidden gem of this city =)

Oh wow! the country Benedicts to Die for!! What a nice twist on the original Eggs Benedict. The eggs were poached perfectly, biscuit instead of muffin and gravy was thick and creamy! I will be back to try the country fried steak and I heard that the quiche is expectional!! Service was so nice and friendly, didn't even have ask for anything twice. While waiting the food, play the license plate game, try to find which one of the fifty states don't they have.

Thank you Yelp! We would not have found this place with out you guys and the trusty reviewers. Nice breakfast treat! Glad it's a bit of a drive from our house or I could quickly go down decadent breakfast lane every weekend..... My croissant sandwich was HUGE! great hasbrowns. Tried Steve's Denver potato cakes - oy vey - amazing. Very nice waitress as well. We'll be dragging our friends here soon!

Great food! Found it by accident. Great pancakes, oatmeal, fruit, bacon, and bagels. Going back again as soon as we can.

"It's nice to go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came..." That's what this place is for us. The corned beef hash and the potato pancakes are our favorites. No frills, just good food, cooked well and always with friendly service! :) A great way to start your mornings!
(5)Debbie M.
Great breakfast. Hubs Corned beef hash and eggs was outstanding. I got veggie sandwich on wheat, fresh and tasty! Great service, few tables outside. Great home cooked food beats the chains every time!!

Found on Yelp. Asked what the most popular dishes were and told Eggs Benedict. However, they make their own quiches and I had my mind set on the Bacon Spinach quiche. But they ran out! Now although I usually hate when that happens I took it as a sign that the quiche must be amazing and I will have to go back for it. So I ended up getting eggs benedict and it was AWESOME!. Hot, fresh, the hollandaise was great. Instead of canadian bacon they covered both english muffin halves with a giant, thin slab of ham which was very good. Also, came with either fruit or potatoes. I chose the "chopped" potatoes with onions and bell peppers. They were as perfect a home frie as I've ever had. Crunchy on the outside and soft inside. I like that they ask if you want onions on top. The potatoes were NOT greasy at all. We also tried the french toast which is not one of my favorites anywhere, but it was very good and hot. kind of like when you make it at home. my husband got te gourmet omelet which had tomato, avocado, bacon, sprouts and cheese. He tried the hash browns and loved them. Prices slightly higher, but I think the food quality was higher than any coffee shop I've been at. They also advertised a hot fudge brownie for only $1.99 which I will definitely have to try. A bunch of daily specials. I think Orange Cafe will be on my list of fave places soon.

Such an ideal breakfast spot right outside our neighborhood! You would expect typical diner food, however, they step it up a notch with the crab cake Benedict and other such specialty items. After placing our order, our toddler started getting antsy for his pancakes, I think the server noticed and brought out his order before ours and some people sitting around us. That was really sweet of her! That's the essence of care in neighborhood diners and why they get 5 stars!
(5)Jason H.
A VERY good breakfast spot. Decent prices. Not the quickest but never bad service. My wife really had hesitations about coming here the first time but now she loves it and she is not normally a breakfast person.
(4)Emilio T.
I'm not a fan only because I'm not really a breakfast person. It has to be super good (like Crema Cafe) for me to 4-5 star a place. But I did enjoy the meal here on 3 occassions. I remember the pancakes being super huge and really good. This place seems to attract more of an older 45+ crowd from what I remember. I just say that cause it made me feel a litte weird. Anyways, parking can be an issue but you can usually find one.
(3)Suzanne K.
Food: Really good! We had the country benedict, and the breakfast quiche. Both were really nice! We also had both kinds of preparations of the potatoes, and they were both excellent. Good coffee too. Service: Nice! Nice! Nice! and helpful. Coffee kept topped up, and service pace was really good for breakfast. Not too fast, not slow either. Visit again: Yes, probably next weekend. :)

The negative reviews are dead-on. I took my son for birthday breakfast. Told to take any table and chose one outside. Sat for 15 minutes without any acknowledgment that we were there. Went inside and asked for menus. Waited another 10 minutes and saw two women walk in who i suppose are regulars, because they were greeted with cheery 'Hello!,' brought menus, and then coffees. We watched like pound puppies as the waitress jotted down their orders. Just walked away feeling very ignored. Drove to Flappy Jack's on Santiago off Nohl Ranch.

The service could definitely use some work. Although the place seats no more than 35-45 people, One waitress for an entire cafe simply doesn't do. We sat outside at a rickety table and waited 10 mins for waters and coffee, another 10 mins for the waitress to take our order, another 25 mins for our food..... and boy was it worth it. BEST BREAKFAST I've had in a long time. I got the California omelette with extra avocado, hash browns and fruit. Everything was presented nicely and the hash browns were well done (just the way I like them) and the omelette was fluffy and fresh. I say give it a chance if you have some time to kill, but if you're in a hurry... don't bother.
(3)Timothy C.
I'll never turn down an opportunity to go to the Orange Cafe (referred to by regulars as Moe's Place). I just wish I had the money to come here more often. I usually get breakfast here, either the sausage and cheese omelette or the country fried steak. It's not the cheapest place around, but god damn, it's the best. I've yet to find a better omelette anywhere. I've been wanting to try the deep fried french toast, but I've been scared. Maybe I'll build up the courage to order it some day. The service is fast and friendly, especially when you come often enough for the servers to recognize you. Moe's place is truly one of Orange's hidden treasures. It's just too bad that they aren't open for dinner anymore.

This place is tiny in a small stripe mall. The food was ok...I have the egg Benedict. Sauce was alright, had better. But I think charging two eggs & cheese for $7 bucks for my 3 yr old daughter was just absurd. The pricing of this place should be 2 $ bc my breakfast with 2.5 person is over $40 w/tip.
(2)Estefano D.
The breakfast I had yesterday was very high quality and we had great service. I had the gourmet omelet. I had avocado, sour cream, sprouts, tomatoes, onions , and cheese. Big portions. Next time I will share it.
(5)Mike C.
Solid breakfast. This town needs a solid breakfast spot. They need to hire some help to get it right. The food is not good enough to wait 30 minutes.
(3)John M.
I like this little old fashioned cafe. Good food, nice service. Can get packed if you go at the wrong time on the weekend. The only bummer is they close kind of early for a later starter person like me.
(4)Gina M.
i love mom & pop joints like this. everyone is so warm and friendly... service is great and they're so quick about everything! the food is delicious... i ordered eggs Benedict on my first visit and country eggs benedict on my second. i think the country eggs benedict is my fav.... eggs benedict on a biscuit smothered in country gravy... nom. the mister ordered waffles and he enjoyed it very much. there really isn't anyway someone can screw up a breakfast meal, right? the reason we come here is for the good heavily proportioned food that's reasonably priced and the friendly service.
(4)Greg G.
Love this place!! Marty is a great owner makes you feel welcome. I love the Chinese Chicken salad. Sooo good.. I bring a different person with me everytime and Marty Remembers everyones name..This is my breakfast spot. I drive from GGrove to have breakfast here..
(5)Nicholas D.
Food was very good. Our waitress was nice, but a bit grumpy (she was an older woman and it was busy, so that was understandable). The menu is pretty basic when it comes to breakfast/lunch category, so if you want something that is out of the ordinary, try Flappy Jacks, which is also in Orange.
(4)Monarch T.
This place is hard to see when driving around but it's a little hidden gem in the city of Orange. The crab cake eggs benedict and their tuna sandwich with avocado and sprouts.are both sooo good. The service is also top-notch. Marty is the sweetest person. :)
(5)Robert S.
One of the best breakfast in town.
(5)Amanda W.
I have been here 4-5 times. The food is pretty good. The service is NOT so good. "Regulars" seem to get very good service, but not so much for newer customers as myself. I have only eaten breakfast here, and each time it's been good, very consistent. Lastly, not sure how to get a refill on coffee here - OMG . .. I should of just got it myself .. SLOW SERVICE ... to many other breakfast choices ... close up shop Orange - u need a clue how to treat customers ...
(1)C S.
Great breakfast spot. Agree with most other reviews
(5)Charlie D.
We are always looking for great, locally, owned restaurants, and decided to try Orange Cafe. We were not disappointed! The food was delicious especially the great omelette, and the Creme Brûlée French Toast Breakfast. Both were incredibly tasty, and reasonably priced. The service was OUTSTANDING! I also noticed that the owner was very involved during our meal which I always consider a great sign of a fantastic restaurant. We will definitely eat there again.
(5)Rene C.
I am pleased to announce that the owner of Orange Cafe has resolved my issue completely. Susie and I enjoyed a complimentary breakfast yesterday and the food was cooked to perfection. Once again, my negative review was mostly based on one employee but I feel assured that I will never experience that less the welcoming treatment from any employee again.
(4)Piko M.
Always a family experience eating at the Orange Cafe! The food is always delish! Asked for the deep fried French Toast!! Pray that the Quiche is still on special!!
(5)Michael K.
Very good food and service. I would recommend the quiche, it's made from scratch and very good.
(5)Paul S.
Outstanding breakast with the option of peppers and onions in the taters! Great selection of benedict style breakfasts. We ate here our first day in Southern Cali, and were shocked that they were not more busy than they were based on what you get for your money. We found that they had relatives not to far from us either in Gurnee - small world, but in this small world, you have to stop here if you are ever in the area!

What a great find - thanks Yelpers! My husband and I loved this little cafe. I had the Florentine Scramble with feta cheese instead of the Swiss and it was terrific. My husband's omelet was also tasty. And the service was wonderful - our server was so sweet, she let me have a side of one pancake instead of the toast that came with my meal (since I couldn't decide between the scramble and the pancakes). Then, I saw that they had pumpkin pancakes on special after I had already placed my order. I asked her how long they would have the special because I would want to try that next time and she brought me one of the pumpkin pancakes as well with all the fixin's so that I could try it! How nice is that? I actually liked the regular pancake better - it was really yummy. The hash browns were only so-so and I wish that they had waffles on the menu. But we will definitely be back - it was a great start to our day!

Great diner environment and the food was amazing. Excellent Sunday morning breakfast spot.
(4)Serrina D.
Neat little family owned diner. Great service. Great food. Large portions. Good prices. Only complaint is a weird smell when you walk in, but I would still give them a 5.
(5)Kristel R.
Went here for breakfast awhile back based on a Yelp proximity search and the good reviews. When we pulled up, I had some doubts, because, well, there were a whole bunch of bikers leaving, and it didn't look like my usual breakfast spots. Boy am I glad I went in! I had the pumpkin crunch pancakes and they were really good. And the breakfast potatoes were phenomenal. I would defintely go back.
(4)Kathy Q.
The BF and I went for breakfast today. The wait wasn't too bad for a Sunday at 11 am. The service was vey pleasant, but we did have a looooong wait for our food. Coffee and OJ were good. Our meals were very good! The BF had the French toast combo and I had a country benedict. The country (white) gravy was very tasty, not like wallpaper paste, with plenty of sausage crumbles. Poached eggs were done correctly, good bisquit and sausage. Hash browns were AWESOME, very crisp and delicious!! We will be back!
(4)L. F.
Thanks Timothy for your review! Based on your review my wife and I visited Orange Cafe for breakfast this morning. Never have had better, great food, large portions, very good customer service and surrounded by a large group of happy diners. We'll be back often.
(5)Brian K.
We take the family here for breakfast a few times a month. The food is great, service is quick and the environment great for kids. There are also some awesome old photographs of the area on the walls. Kind of like going to a dine-in museum. There usually isnt much of a wait either. The patio is very nice on a sunny day. Never been here for lunch so I can't comment on that but I'd recommend it as an excellent alternative to IHOP, the 1hr wait at pancake house or the trendy new flappy jacks.
(4)Angela R.
What a great neighborhood find! You'll find locals here on early mornings where a cup of coffee and a smile is always waiting for you. Oh, and the food...goodness! The benedicts are all amazing as are the pancakes. Word to the wise: the portions are gargantuan so be prepared to share or bring the rest home. Great Sunday morning breakfast spot!!
(5)Curtis L.
First timer today. Went for breakfast and had pumpkin pancake combo with link sausages. great service. Polite and always on time to fill my coffee. Excellent food, service, and a nice bright well maintained cafe. if you like link sausage... You gotta try theirs. Good sized portions and hot and tasty.
(5)kevin s.
This place was great! The waitress was nice, friendly, and always had our drinks filled even though it was pretty busy. The french toast waz probably the best I've ever had, the hashed browns were delicious, crispy on the outside and creamy like mashed potatoes on the inside. Their lemonade tastes like the Simply Lemonade brand not the run of the mill Minute Maid everyone else has, I highly recommend stopping by the Orange Cafe.
(4)Austin M.
Great breakfast food. Amazing basketball size pancakes. Only get 3 if you are super hungry. Prices a bit high, but weekday specials make it tolerable. Orange's best kept breakfast secret.
(4)Mina C.
We love to go out to breakfast and are tired of the same old thing. We have several places that we rotate to break the monotony. One morning, we stumbled upon the Orange Cafe because we made a wrong turn trying to get back onto Tustin. It is in a somewhat rundown strip mall but the food is anything but that! I had the bacon and spinach quiche and my husband had the veggie omelet. I loved my quiche...it was flavorful, creamy and hearty. It was delicious and I was stuffed! My husband's first comment on his omelet was, "Wow! I love how fluffy my omelet is!" BTW- they have the best hash browns! When you taste it, you'll see what we mean. The waitress/manager/owner (Mardy) was great. She and her husband run the place and she is full of energy and passion for what they are doing. We own a restaurant ourselves and we recognized immediately the use of quality ingredients and homemade love! Keep up the great work! There is a need for GREAT restaurants in Orange County. We'll be back for sure!

went out that way on the saturday because i had to take my puppy to the vet. i yelped some breakfast in that area and found orange cafe. it is somewhat of a hidden gem. it was a beautiful day so we sat outside. The french toast was the lightest i have ever had and was very delicious. the eggs benedict is awesome and the hollandaise sauce makes it even better. great service, friendly, fast, and getting food out was quick. very attentive. if im ever in the area i will stop by, and i totally recommmend it.

Well, it is Father's Day, and I needed to get out of the house for breakfast cooked for me. Orange Café is one of our new favorite places. It did not disappoint. I had the bacon and eggs. I'm quite fussy about my eggs. They need to be cooked medium perfect meaning that I like the eggs runny and the white part of the egg cooked. They do eggs perfectly (for my taste anyway). My wife tucked into the big Belgian waffle covered in fresh cut strawberries, whipped cream smothered with maple syrup. Another delicious treat. If you're looking for a small restaurant with an old-school diner feel, This is the place for you.
(4)Antonia P.
I've been coming here for years and it's one of my favorite breakfast spots. Only bad thing is that more and more people are starting to know about its greatness so the waits are longer than they used to be. My favorite menu item is the crab cakes Benedict. The chorizo Benedict is also great but you can't beat the crab cakes. I've had (I think it was some sort of creme brûlée) toast or pancakes. I'm sorry I can't remember the exact name, but it was delicious. Honestly I've never had anything here that I didn't like. The best part of all is the service, always nice and always fast. I would tell you, don't miss this place, but I don't want to makes the waits even longer ;-)
