I love their Nawlin's BBQ Shrimp. I have been here probably 40 times in the last 8 years or so and have only ordered something else about 3-4 times. This place is wonderful.

Service - 5 Stars Oysters - 4 Stars Calamari - 0 Stars Cocktails - 5 Stars Overall Value - 3.5 Stars (Wife and I spent $100 before tip during 'Easy Hour') Bottom line... Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and drinks but was totally bummed by the squid.

Me and my bf were craving seafood and found this place. The setting was really nice and the staff were really friendly. We got the lobster crunch roll to start off and it was amazing , then I had a salmon plate which was really good. I would def come here and recommend!

Good seafood and service in Anaheim. Been visiting King's for years. The seafood always tastes good, the service is always friendly, quick and efficient. I haven't ordered off the sushi menu, because it doesn't seem to fit in to the theme or vibe of this restaurant, but if you want some fried scallops, shrimp, fish and fries their combo fried platter is always good. I recently ordered the cheese tortellini and salmon pasta. It was good in a surprising way. I didn't expect the salmon to have a smoky flavor to it. Quite nice. the steamed clams were delicious and the broth served with it tasty. Oysters always taste fresh. You can choose to sit on the bar side which has tv's, full bar, and a more casual vibe. If you prefer a regular restaurant/dining experience you can head through the connecting swinging doors to the restaurant side. Parking: large private lot. Always open spaces.

We sat on the patio because it is kind of loud inside but the patio is heated so you dont get too cold. The wait staff was kind and quick to get us refills of iced tea. The decor is similar to Lucilles BBQ with a little New Orleans feel. The location is convenient if you are going to the movies or a Ducks game. Unfortunately the food is really poor quality. It all seems to be made with cheap ingedients and prepared by people who are not trained chefs. I feel bad giving such a bad review because everyone is pretty nice but the truth must be told. This place does not have good food and the prices are high. The menu and prices suggest you are at a high end restaurant but the food is not even as good as the Olive Garden. I can only hope they get things fixed so all the nice people will continue to have a place to work.

Surprisingly bad. Seemed very cookie cutter for the cost! Also, the worst thing was, our waiter told us he was new 4 times. Due to the fact that he knew nothing about the menu.... Well, I must say, the manager Fred has been great since my review. I would go back simply because he called and was very concerned about our visit to the restaurant. I would definitely give me a second chance! Thanks Fred!

We had a great time tonight. Food was great during happy hour. Company was better. We four were celebrating our anniversaries and the manager gave us champaign and dessert on the house. Frank, our server was very pleasant and did a great job.

Four of us gals celebrated a birthday lunch here and we had wonderful service and were all very pleased with our selection of food. I had the almondine trout, which I would definitely order again!!!

Kings Fish House off Katella gets the two stars because for years I have been to this place and the food is typically great. About a year ago (before I joined Yelp) I went here on a business lunch and ordered the Ahi Poke appetizer. I had a baby roach crawling in my food and abruptly notified the male waiter/(manager?). He quickly said "Sir, why don't you alert the whole restaurant...geez". I was shocked. They subtracted the Ahi Poke off my bill of course and asked if I would like anything on the menu free of cost but I had lost my appetite as well as everyone who was at my table. The place is ridden with gnats and flies and I think this is partly due to the open nature of this location but they definitely need door fans to blow any possible flies back outside, and need to clean their facility a lot better if there are roaches. I have not went back to this location since then.

First timer. Loved it! Had reviewed the menu online and anticipated the oysters...they did not disappoint. The cajun BBQ shrimp was fantastic! Jenny F. took excellent care of us. I was so impressed by her presentation of my favorite after dinner drink sambuca. Will definitely return the next time I am in town.

Word of caution about this place if you are there late, make sure you ask what time the kitchen closes if you decide you want to add to your order because I think they have a timed vault that closes their kitchen and not even the manager can penetrate that!!! I love their bread pudding but the best part is the sauce so I've gone there with my friend to have dessert several times before. Last night my friend and I went for the bread pudding and I was disappointed to see how much they've skimped on the sauce. When I asked for more sauce the server (Alyssa) said that the kitchen closed at 9pm yet their closing time said 10pm and I got my bread pudding at 9:30. Really?!?!? I only asked for a little more sauce not the catch of the day!!! She said she would mention it to the manager but I doubt that she did because he didn't come out to our table. From now on I think I'll go to Mimi's for bread pudding they are very generous with their sauce and they don't keep it in a vault!!!

Excellent Happy Hour! The prices are rather incredible @ King's Fish House for appetizers...most are sub $5. My favorites were the oyster shooters, and the fish tacos. This is a great pre-game spot to meet if you are looking for good food and a good bar to meet pre-Angels games

4.5 Stars for both food & service! I was really impressed by the food & service at King's since my last visit. We ordered the fried calamari & a half-dozen quilcene oysters on a half shell as appetizers, & the grilled red rockfish (w/ sateed spinach & grilled zucchini) & linguine w/ manila clams as the entrees. The appetizers are never a miss at this place. Calamari is fresh (never over-battered) & the oysters are always so fresh & a real palate pleaser! It's the best way to start off a meal. For the entrees, the red rockfish was moist & flaky. You know its a good sign when even the side dishes are prepared perfectly. The grilled zucchini were a great compliment to the dish. A light, healthy, & delicious dish. The linguine & manila clams were amazing & the white wine sauce was so flavorful! Dipping bread into the wine white sauce works wonders also! Perhaps the only slight downside was the dessert. We ordered the creme brulee, (which was not bad btw) but I usually prefer my creme brulee warm, not cold. But hey, that's just my personal preference. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Yes, I will be back again King's!

I've been here, to this location primarily, many times and keep coming back. I really like everything here.(not an oysters fan so don't hold me to the "everything" please) The breadth of choices, and freshness & quality of the product is fantastic. Sometimes I have some "sticker shock" at the price of some of the fresh fish, like Halibut(which the wife loves, she also loves filet mignon, and no, she is not high maintenance ;-D ), but that is generaly true at most places with fresh fish, especially the ones with linen table cloths. The management here is top notch, pays attention, listens, and can resolve quickly and easily any real concerns, which is a BIG plus. I have yelped on some places where they just do not seem to care if you, or their business, lives or dies. The food last time (9/3/12) was great for all 5 of us and so was the service by both of the "nancys".

Great atmosphere. Waitress had NO CLUE which foods were gluten free (if any). I've been going to this establishment for years, but I would love for them to have a more gluten-aware menu and/or staff. All delicious seafood though.

  • Elizabeth O.

The menus are printed twice a day to reflect the fact that their menu is freshness driven. I enjoyed their patio seating and their build-your-own chicken sandwich. Seems like it would be a seafood fanatics heaven!

Great menu selection. I came here during a conference after a good experience last year. I ordered the South African Lobster tail this time. It was good but my colleagues ordered dishes that made me envious. The various fish dishes really looked great, including Alaskan Halibut with a macadamia nut crust. Servers were friendly and attentive. The only negative was the hostess, who gave away our reserved table for being 15 minutes late then was rude to us as we waited a whole hour to get a table. We had to complain before being seated.

King crab cakes - 5 stars, especially with the red sauce! Clam chowder - 4 stars when I ate it, 0 stars when it gave me a terrible stomachache an hour later... that's the only thing I ate that my bf didn't. Caesar salad - 0 stars because that never came... Lemon crusted seabass - 3 stars, very meaty but needs salt. Blackened salmon - 4 stars, very tender Cheesy grits - 4 stars Garlic spinach - 4 stars Friendliness of service - 4 stars Speed of service - 1 star so on average that would be... hell, I'm not doing math for yelp, givin' it an A-OK and callin' it a day!

So far I've enjoyed all of the fish entreees I've ordered from here. I usually order items from their specials menu. My most recent visit I ordered the Trout Amadine which came out perfectly crisped on the exterior but still moist on the inside. The garlic mashed potatoes are okay. I liked the side of sauteed snap peas and caramelized carrots although they were a little overcooked. The Salmon Cakes were very tasty served with a lime glaze. The BF always loves the oyster sampler, and we've had better cioppino elsewhere (like at home). I still enjoy coming here for their seasonal specials :)

Went here last weekend unexpectedly before a night out with the BF. We were heading to Orange anyway to go to D&B and did not want to go to the Market Broiler (yuck). I immediately thought of King's as I had seen it so many times in passing. We called to get reservations at about 7:30pm (it was a Friday) and were told we would be sat right away at our arrival time of 8:00pm. As soon as we showed up, we were seated in a nice booth right away. I was glad to see that we were seated at a booth as the "two seater" tables look tight! We were helped pretty quickly and our server was real nice. We ordered the Honey Blonde Ale and some wine. We liked the choice of getting 1/2 bottle of wine instead of just a glass or the entire bottle. We then ordered the clams for an appetizer. They were just okay. They were pretty small for my liking. For an entree, I ordered the Halibut and the bf ordered the swordfish "mediterranean" style. I really liked the halibut and the sides I was given. The bf said the swordfish was really good and really liked the idea of having greek yogurt on top. We finished both our plates to say the least..... I did enjoy the ambiance, service and the food here. The price was a little out there, but it is to be expected with any fish place nowadays. I wouldn't say this was an extraordinary experience, I could probably find a fish restaurant a few cities away and get the same experience, but it was a good time and I was not disappointed. I actually slipped into the bar area for a second and it looked pretty cool. It was more lit up with more funky stuff on the wall. Probably a good place to catch a game. I will probably come back for happy hour and appetizers soon.

I've probably been here 10-15 times and the food is always good, not excellent but consistently good. Lobster season is the best. I was here last weekend and must have shown up close to closing time as we ordered a steak medium rare and bbq shrimp. The shrimp was not great (slightly overcooked) and the steak was well done. The steak was sent back and the waitress apologized and brought out couple warm sides and a free bowl of soup. Within 5+ minutes later the steak came out cooked medium rare with all fresh sides and tasted great. The manager came over and apologized and took the steak off the bill and brought us out a free desert. Compared to other restaurant we were very please how they handled the situation and really feel they went above and beyond to correct the dining experience. 5 stars for management and customer service.

I've been here more than once after frequenting their Rancho location. their oyster selection is both fresh and expansive. Their chowders are house-made as well as their mac'n cheese. I'm a big fan of everything oyster here, as well as their grilled artichoke. If you love seafood, give this place a try!

  • Rachel L.

I really wanted to like this place. I just didn't. Bland food, slow service and an over-priced menu. The mahi mahi was tough and the carrots were over-cooked. the mussels and clams appetizer that we ordered has no flavor and the marinade over it tasted like ocean water with lemon in it. The server was nice enough but slow. She asked me 3 or 4 times if I wanted another beer and twice if we wanted dessert. No thank you didn't seem to be something she understood. I understand that part of the job is up-selling but it was annoying anyway.

Food is good, but service is terrible, had to call Manager to complain about waitress, Manager tried to give us the food for free, but We refused, and insisted on paying , the point is not to get food for free, but enjoy the dining out..

We've been to both the Huntington Beach location and the Orange location and this one is our favorite. Probably because we find the bar area to be more lively and has better ambiance. It's a bigger bar then HB and kids are welcome as well. Mary was who waited on us and she was not only a great server, but she was also a blast. She brought us complimentary "clams on the half shell." We had never had these before and they were really good. They say that these are usually on their menu and sometimes you just have to ask. We almost liked them better then the oysters. Their spicy Poke appetizer is delicious (it has macadamia nuts and chunks of avocado in it) also, their sushi is good and we always like to get the San Dabs with the lemon, butter caper sauce. The fish is mild, crispy and moist. Someone in our party had the Shark and said he really liked it. We appreciated that Jerry the manager on duty, came by our table to check on us. That's always a nice touch and shows that management cares what's going on.

This was my second visit to King's and the quality and service were both excellent. I had the Macadamia crusted halibut and it was an excellent dish. The fish was cooked perfectly and the entire dish had excellent flavor. My friend had trout amandine and she loved it. Will definitely be back

Awful, awful, awful. Service was absolutely horrible. It took forever for any of us to get help from the server. Took her 15 minutes to bring back our check. It wasn't even busy, there were plenty of empty booths. We informed were in a hurry and she responded quite rudely. We ordered some oysters and the cold seafood sampler. The food was fine except for the clams. They tasted like they were taken from a sewage pipe. They were nasty. We all agreed they were disgusting. Nasty clams, expensive and some of the worst service I've experienced I'd go else where for my buck.

Always excellent food, and the service is above and beyond the call. Thoroughly enjoyed a Father's Day lunch, thanks in large part to the gracious assistance of hostess Sarah and server Harry. They could not have been more sensitive to the needs of my elderly father, treating him with dignity and patience, humor and respect. Made our day and noticed that other patrons were being treated the same way.

Finally.. I have found a place to satisfy my oyster shooter cravings!! I was raised in seattle, Washington. So those who know their oysters know the good ones come from washington. But this place also offers many different kinds. So my first time here was for my best friend's b-day, the wait for 3 was about 20 minutes. Our server was sweet and helpful with the menu. We ordered a round of shooters 3 bajas and 3 miyagis. The baja shooters were amazing! Tasted almost as good as my brothers. We also got the oyster rockafeller, which is baked oysters with a spinach/cheese mixture on top. Trust me... It's worth the 15 bucks!! For dinner I got the seafood ciopinno, it was pretty good. My friends got the salmon and mahi mahi, I loved the mahi and didn't care much for the salmon. Their menu changes everyday which is cool so you know it's fresh. Overall, the oysters were the only thing that knocked my socks off.. But were pricey. The food itself was satisfying, but wasn't anything extraordinary. The bill came out to be 140$ for 3 people.. All I can say is my friend better appreciate what a great friend I am :)

Fish cooked to perfection. The menu had a lot of choices, such as oysters, chowder, fish could be had fried, grilled or in a specialty prepared sauce such as what I choose. They have seasonal specials, at the moment that is Dungeness crab. Red meat also an option. Server gave me great advice when I was choosing between the Halibut and another dish. I had the Macadamia Nut Crusted Wild Alaskan Halibut drizzled with an orange ginger butter sauce. My sides were the sautéed fresh spinach and the mashed potatoes. Everything was really excellent. The fish was cooked to perfection. The portion of halibut was very generous. I tried the chocolate cake for desert, yummy but so chocolaty it would be best to split with someone.

I just ate at King's fish house today I ordered the ceviche when it finally came out it tasted bubbly I had my friends with me confirm that it was old God knows how old it was. Because the kitchen is in Clearview from the dining room I could see the manager waiter and cook scrambling to throw the chevice away. The manager came out and reassured me that he was not going to charge me for the super old ceviche and in my mind I thought thank you for not charging me for your old food. So I didn't make a big stink about it like most people and they asked me what else what I like from the menu I assumed that they we're not going to charge me for the meal of my choice after serving me old food but I guess I assumed wrong they still charge me for the plate I ordered after the old chevice even though I didn't make a big stink about it like most people and I probably save them from dealing with someone that would have made it a big issue I guess it doesn't pay to be nice and forgiving

Well I was very pleased to have lunch today at the King's Fish House in Orange. Paul greeted us and promptly sat us at a comfy booth and told us of the new shrimp taquitos and we just had to try them. They were delicious and also gluten free. I had the taquitos and a bowl of clam chowder and my wife had Salmon grilled with mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini and we were both very happy and very would highly recommend this location. Our server was Sarah and she awesome. Thanks King's - we will be back.

I just had a wonderful lunch at Kings with my father. We sat outside and The atmosphere was lovely. We had a new server who was being trained who was thoughtful and attentive. We were both ordering a crunchy iceberg salad, when the veteran server suggested that it's very large and we might consider splitting it, and they'd be happy to put it on two plates in the kitchen. That turned out to be a great idea, as we could barely finish our half portions. I had grilled shrimps and scallops with sweet corn and coleslaw. Everything was great, although I barely ate the coleslaw simply because I didn't need it. My father had a piece of swordfish which he thought was terrific, as well as mac & cheese which he loved though he said he didn't really need. Not great for the waistline. Overall a lovely experience and one of our favorite places to meet for lunch.

Kings is not an intimate place that you would take your significant other but rather a place to go for more of an upscale casual atmosphere or a place to meet a group of friends. They offer a nice variety of fish selections prepared many different ways so you can order to your liking. The seafood jambalaya is one of my favorites. Linguine served with shrimp and andoullie sausage. Has a nice little spice to it. All meals begin with a warm loaf of bread and butter. Me, being a carbs guy cannot complain with that at all. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Quick to refill a drink or see how everything is. During the lunch hour, they try t push the outdoor seating. Not quite sure why however they are quite accommodating if you ask for inside seating.

Id rather cook at home. The prices are outrageous, but the food was okay. Id rather be at Market Broiler than this place. The salmon was overcooked and my fries were soggy. The lemonade had no sugar or water, and the service took forever.

My family always enjoys going here. Our Server, Marrina was very nice and alwayse kept my glass filled. They have great fish. Try the Hot Combo for deep fried salty goodness. They have sushi that is pretty good. I really liked the ceviche and the 'Nalins BBQ Shrip (Garlicy Cajun Shrimps). Live Crab and Lobster if your in the mood. They will even let you pick your own. (Choose the one moving around the most. They will have the most fat left and will be the tastiest.) Good Clam Chowder in a bread bowl too.

I've had King's Fish house on several occasions and it's always been fairly good. I do like the Oysters and Alaskan King Crab Legs...I tried the whole fried Catfish and it was definitely a dish 2 can share! Prices are a bit on the high side but it's fun and the staff here is great. The sushi is not that great but I don't know how many people actually come here for the sushi. I've had other dishes that were satisfactory but not mind blowing. It seems I'm always ordering appetizers here and finger foods which is great for sharing. I have not tried everything on the menu because there is a lot on there but I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

I went to King's Fish House for happy hour with my coworkers. We all went there to celebrate one of our coworkers' recent promotion, and since that coworker is somewhat of a VIP at King's, we all decided to go there. First off, the vibe of the interior is just adorable. If I had to label it, I would say that it's a classy dive bar because it was nice and clean but still had the influence of a casual dive bar. The bar tables are a bit small, only made to comfortably fit four people, so if you have a larger party, aim to sit at the booths or tables. The drink menu for happy hour is alright, but I ordered the martinis because I was in the mood for the strong, sweet drinks and they're $9 each. I tried the Blood Orange Martini, which was delicious (especially since I'm a huge fan of blood orange). I also got to taste the Key Lime Pie Martini, which was surprisingly really good because it tasted so creamy and light. We ordered a lot of appetizers: quesadillas, fish tacos, calamari, ceviche, burgers, french fries, and a platter of dozen oysters. Everything was tasty and the oysters were delicious (even though I don't really choose to ever order them). We ended the night with ordering some key lime pie, which was to die for. I'm not sure how much everything cost since our company covered it, but from what I saw on the menus, the prices are decent for happy hour. The seafood entrees for dinner and all that stuff are a bit pricier, but I hear that the actual meals are awesome and you definitely get quality seafood for the prices that you pay. I would really love to come here again to experience dinner instead of just happy hour, but I'd definitely come here for happy hour again.

King's is a good place for seafood. We come in the summer, during soft shell crab and pacific salmon season. Both taste fresh and delicious. In addition to these, they have a strong selection of freshly delivered fish with a menu that is printed up daily. Having been here multiple times, the service is always fine, and the food is consistently good up and down the menu. This place is popular with our kids because they have a very nice kids entertainment menu (including temporary tattoos) and jokes on the beverage napkins. As a bonus, they have nice decor and usually play blues or old R & B in the background.

Tried for the first time recently and came away impressed. Though I was skeptical about sushi in this setting, it was really really high quality. The fish entree (barramundi) was perfectly cooked, delicious and tender, though it was on their second try. My fish initially came undercooked (half raw) and we sent it back. For this and that the sushi came after the entree instead of before, the manager comped our sushi order without any prodding from us. This says a lot about their commitment to their customer's experience. Also, they have a really nice setup for kids, including a tattoo set that our preschooler just loved. We're definitely going back.

Stopped in for a quick lunch of clam chowder with a half dozen Baja California oysters, served with sourdough bread and butter. Add a glass of beer (they have a nice choice of local brews on tap and even offer a 10oz glass!) and I was a happy camper. Chowder was good, oysters expertly opened and fresh tasting, and the bread and butter were very good too. When the weather is nice (when isn't it?), you can sit outside on the patio.

Point blank if not my favorite restaurant, one of them. Always get great service and even better food. Mac. Halibut is to die for as well is the New Orleans BBQ shrimp. If you do try the Mac. Halibut make sure you get the mac and cheese as a side. Walnut salad and bow-tie chicken pasta are both winners as well. All my friends make fun of me because I build this place up so much. Haha they always tell me you should get a job here but I tell them, I wouldn't want to ruin it. Knock on wood I have never had a bad experience at this location or any other Kings. Keep doing your thing.

Oh dear my. I came on a Thursday night and it was seriously DEAD. It honestly felt like I was walking through a ghost town. I had just watched the House of Wax the night before and walking through this little plaza sent chills up and down my spine. I mean you see the totally packed parking lot but not one single person was outside! Not one! When we walked into King's Fish House they were playing some old country music and you have a few waiters just cleaning up. Creepy right? I've been dying to check this place out and luckily we had just left Flightdeck Air Combat Center down the street. There's a bar and restaurant area which are totally separated. They have a huge menu with a bountiful of options to choose from. There's a specials section that changes every so often so don't expect the same items there when you come back. I was seriously like a kid in a candy store. I just wanted to order everything. I felt like they were all calling my name. I ended up ordering the charbroiled catfish with the glazed carrots and sauteed fresh spinach while my friend got the parmesan encrusted sandabs with capers accompanied with roasted ratatouille and mac 'n cheese. Our fish was so fresh and you could tell just by eating it. I felt so healthy just eating my veggies and my fish. The portions were satisfying and the quality was superb. There wasn't much oil to anything and everything just had good flavors to it. Prices are acceptable but I kept thinking how I could get something similar for half the price at California Fish Grill. They obviously offer more options than California Fish Grill but I'd have to say overall they come in a very close second. Watch a movie just a few steps away and have dinner here.

Yummy Maine Lobster! The whole meal was delicious! Corn was fresh off the cob & the red potato salad was yummo! The bread was sooo fresh that it came out not warm.... but hot and cripsy! Oysters on half shell was a treat & oh so tasty.

I came in with a girlfriend for dinner a few months back weather was great so we sat out on the patio Tami was our server and was she was very sweet and attentive and gave great suggestions :-) I wanted to try a martini and she suggested Sour Peach Martini, it was perfect! Not too sweet either. My friend had Milky Way Martini (having that next time !) , it was creamy and sweet but not too strong ! im not a big seafood person ( ya i know)so I had the sirloin steak cooked to perfection, medium rare with their northwest vegetables, which were ginger roasted and lightly sauteed. My friend had the 2lb lobster, was so fresh and sweet tasting! She also had the mac cheese with it, very creamy and baked with bread crumb topping. Tami insisted we try the salted caramel ice cream sandwich for dessert, heavenly! 2 scoops of caramel icecream with sea salt and caramel sauce over a toasted brioche bun! Went well with ur double espressos, To die for!

I went here once with a friend and again with the parentals. I don't remember what I had last time (it was some sort of pasta and was unfortunately forgettable), but the parentals wanted to try it out so I came back that second time. This time I ordered the cioppino, and my dad and I split the raw oysters for an appetizer. We went with two varieties of Canadian oysters (one from Vancouver, I believe) suggested by the waiter, and we were not disappointed. The stew, however, was a show stopper. It came out sizzling hot in its own skillet and was absolutely delicious. It was fishy (in a good way) with a great assortment of seafood such as shrimp, calamari, and snow crab legs. Yes, the dishes here are pretty overpriced, but $25 or so for quality cioppino is well worth it. I'd come back if we were taking guests out to dinner or something, but it's not exactly an everyday dinner option.

This place is awesome. Food varies from day to day, but not so much that certain things you like aren't there on the days you decide to go here. Everything my wife and I have had from here was fantastic.

The service here is spotty and can be super slow especially in the bar area. The best item on the menu is their ahi poke appetizer! Amazing!

Went back yesterday, and was very impressed. Got the blackened catfish this time - so good. I figured I probably just went on an "off day" for them. Definitely will be going back. And by the way, had the nicest server ever!!!

When you travel, you must rely on trusted friends (or Yelp) for restaurant recommendations, and when a restaurant receives glowing praise from good friends for its seafood, there must be some substance to it. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner here, and I add my enthusiastic recommendation for the Idaho trout and the macadamia crusted halibut. My Bacardi rum and Coca-cola was a generous pour (I'm grateful for designated drivers), and we enjoyed our dinner on an outdoor patio in perfectly comfortable weather. I try not to dole out 5-star reviews gratuitously, but excellent food and service are the products of concerted effort. I'd recommend the dinner and the atmosphere at King's Fish House in Orange without hesitation.

We met up here with friends, it was their choice. Let's just say that they'll be allowed to choose again. King's Fish is really stellar, and our oddball group didn't throw them for a loop at all.

Love King's Fish House. The food is always fresh and the service is always friendly. This is my usual spot for fresh seafood. To start the bread is one of the best sourdough in town. Crispy out side and soft and moist inside. They have a good selection of oysters and its always fresh and sweet. The fish selection is also pretty awesome and always fresh and cook to perfection. Try the catfish when you get a chance its awesome. Overall this place is awesome. Must try!

3.5-4 stars Went here on a early X-mas dinner with mi lady. Was in the mood for seafood and always drove by this place on the way to Danny K's so decided to stop by. First off the server, Sal, was probably the thing that stood out the most. You could tell he had experience and really knew his stuff. Very polished and well spoken. For our meals we started off with the lobster roll. We should have known not to order sushi at an American place. The 'Lobster' meat was tiny AND deep fried... I tried to find pieces of real lobster by dissecting the roll but it was 95 percent imitation crab. The martinis are pretty decent priced, like 9 bucks. And the porter beer was tasty and well priced as well, 8 bucks for a 22 oz. So onto dinner. We took Sal's advice and got the Hazelnut crusted Salmon. It was a good choice. Nice cut of salmon and crunchy/nutty on the outside. Rattatouie (mixed onions, tomatoes, and zucchini) side was good. Garlic mashed potatoes could use a bit more flavor. But overall that dish was good. Also got the parmesan crusted rock cod. Thought the filet of the fish was going to be thicker, but thats probably the nature of the fish. The cheese crust made the fish quite oily and heavy. I still finished most of it though, not bad. But I will try the uncrusted fish dishes next time. Overall, this place has a good thing going. GREAT service, decently priced food and drinks. Go here for an accomodating seafood dinner.

We brought friends here as a Thank You treat. We had a great time.... We all ordered our meals, with help from our server Jill, she was great- very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Great advice it was too (the oysters were really tasty). The ambiance and welcome we received made the whole experience memorable- we will be back, and we will be asking for Jill!

I ordered the crab cakes, definitely will not do that again if I ever decide to give them another chance. Waitress failed to bring me the clam chowder that I ordered, and didn't even apologize when I pointed it out.

King's Fish House is my favorite seafood restaurant! In my opinion they don't have any competition because they are the best! I try to dine here as often as I can :) my daughter and I came recently, and as usual everything was wonderful. Frank was our server and he was awesome! He had great suggestions and was very attentive. I had to order my favorite appetizer which is the baked mussels, they are SO good. They are baked on the half shell with a sweet eel sauce, spicy mayo sauce, avocado, cilantro and mushroom! Swordfish is in season right now so I decided to try one of their specials. I ordered the grilled swordfish with the oven dried tomato, there was a generous portion of oven dried tomato on top of the Swordfish and it was drizzled with a little bit of olive oil, delicious! On of their side orders is called Ratatouille.... and it is a must-have! It consists of roasted eggplant , zucchini, squash, onions and crushed Roma tomatoes! For dessert my daughter and I shared another seasonal item, the pumpkin cheesecake! It has just the right texture for me.... not too stiff and not too mushy. It is always a pleasure to dine at King's and I cannot wait to come back! :-)

Awesome restaurant! Last night I was craving shrimp like no other. My BF was going out, so I decided to do dinner with my friend. We were debating between Joe's Crab Shack and Red Lobster, when my BF told us we should go here. We arrived around 7 pm and the wait was 20-40 minutes. We got a buzzer that was the cutest buzzer I have ever seen - it was a big red lobster. Aw! We waited outside in the cold cause it was pretty cramped in the restaurant. I think we waited about 30 minutes. We were seated on a covered patio. They had a heater right above us, so it barely mattered that the plastic cover wouldn't shut in the corner by our table, and that cold wind was blowing in. We did ask the waiter to shut it, but he said it couldn't be done, so he just cranked up the heater more for us. For an appetizer we started with the shrimp cocktail, which was very good. It had a zesty, spicy cocktail sauce, and it totally fulfilled my shrimp craving. For dinner I ordered the Macadamia Crusted Mahi Mahi with roasted potatoes and sweet corn, and my friend had the Spiny Lobster with mashed potatoes and sweet corn. She was going to get the Maine Lobster, but the waiter convinced her to go with the spiny, saying she would get much more meat, it was sweeter, and it was much easier to eat. Both meals were awesome. The crust on my Mahi Mahi was awesome, and the fish was cooked perfectly. The roasted potatoes and sweet corn were perfect "sidekicks" as they call them there. I had a bite of my friend's spiny lobster, and it was also really good. It was huge too - he was not kidding when he said she would get more meat. After dinner, we were both stuffed, as we had finished almost all the food on our plates. Our waiter suggested dessert, but there is no way we could do that. The bill came and it was $112 for the two of us, which wasn't that bad considering we also each had 2 glasses of wine, plus her lobster was about $40. Our waiter got an awesome tip from us, he was one of the nicest, most helpful, genuine waiters I have ever had. He also had a great sense of humor. I will definitely be back to King's to try more, their menu is huge and it took me forever last night to decide on just one thing.

Ordered the Wild Alaskan Red King Crab, and small Caesar Salad, definitely worth the price! The atmosphere was upscale casual, and fun. My date and I were served by Anastasios, a tall server with an accent, he looked sharp and his service to us was great as if he's been doing it for years. The Caesar salad was great, and the Alaskan King Crab (1 pound) around $36 at the time was delicious! The restaurant has menus that are printed daily, which I thought was pretty neat, you can keep them and take them home, which I did for it was an anniversary dinner. Had a great time, will come back soon!

This place is disgusting, the service deplorable, and the prices vomit inducing. Came here on my day off and I had mentioned I hadn't been here in two years because lots of drama with the service staff was involved and other things that I would rather forget. It's been two years...come on...how bad could it be? Food: Bland as fuck and greasy as all hell. I don't want to be harsh but come on seriously? I don't like my food salty but it was like licking cardboard. Even the ranch was bland! The chicken strips (yes someone ordered those) was 80% breading 10% chicken 10% fish flavored something. And yea, it was soooo bland. The sushi was disgusting. Didn't taste fresh and it didn't have clean cuts and was chunky. No. Service: What is it about me that draws servers away? Seriously? I want to know. I smile, I'm sweet, and I'm polite. I always say thank you and I try be as amiable and personable as possible. I sat down and asked the hostess a question about one of their ads on the table and she made this face like I was retarded. I got one refill and that's when someone that's not our server dropped our food. The seats were dirty and I asked for an extra napkin that never came. And just in general...very very poor service especially for a weekday. Prices: This place is too expensive for the overall quality. They are about 15-25 a person when it should be more to10-13. Cute interior and that's where all of your bill is going towards. Skip this place. NOT worth it.

This review only applies to the few things I order here. -Sourdough Clam Chowder Bowl (Red and White) -King Crab Honey Blonde Ale -Spider Roll -Grilled Fish Tacos I usually go during happy hour and the food i great. The sourdough bread bowl full of soup is only $8 and it is huge. Its enough for two people and its damn good. I usually chase it down with the Honey Blonde Ale, which is damn good. On occasion i like to switch it up and ill get the grilled fish tacos or the spider roll. Again, its damn good. My final assessment: It is damn good! Happy hour makes things a bit cheaper and the food really is top notch and super fresh. Go in, get drunk, eat oysters and throw it all up in the bathroom, its the King's way.

Ok, so this place is literally walking distance from my work. When I first started coming here, I would probably have rated this place a 4 star. Im not sure whether it's me getting sick of the food here....or if the quality has been going lower...but as of today, this place is just AOK to me. Im not a fan of oyster shooters. I want the fresh oyster still clinging onto its shell with a splash of lemon and tabasco...THATS ALL. Why mask the flavor of the ocean? Service is decent, food is AOK, I will probably revisit this place a few times.... Its not a OMG that was such a delicious lunch moment for me. AOK AOK AOK!

Came here for a lunch. Expensive lunch!! For two people the bill came out to $85 -_______- we ordered a dozen oysters i think komomoto or something japanese. the oysters were delicious though. we order a dish to share which had lobster, clams, mussels, potatoes, and corn. all were fresh and delicious. for dessert we shared a strawberry shortcake which was average. overall the food was good but wayy too expensive for lunch. yikes. didnt help that service wasn't great.

King's was decent at best. Went there for a bday dinner and tried the following: Hazelnut Crusted Salmon- it was decent; the salmon was fresh. Unfortunately the plate didn't burst with any real great flavors. Jambalaya: it was extremely bland. Tasted like it was marinated in water with a hint of peppers for spice. Hot Seafood Platter: The crab cakes were lukewarm, popcorn shrimp and calamari barely hit average. I'd say Van de Kamps frozen selection would be on the same level, maybe better with a juicy lemon. I think it will be a while before I dine at King's again (it's been a few years and now I can recall why). The service was good and they were friendly, but the food.. not so much.

I will start with the fact that I have celiac disease and can not eat gluten. Right away I asked our waitress if she could bring me a gluten free menu or tell me what on the menu could be made gluten free. She acted like I was an idiot and gave me the most common sense answers. The potatoes and fish are gluten free...also the salad. No, really?! I meant the sauces and the dressings. Do they have gluten free pasta? Things that are not obvious. I have to live gluten free...I know more than the basics! I finally decided on the BBQ shrimp. The waitress said it came with rice and 2 pieces of garlic bread. I said no to the bread...but was not offered any substitutions. I also had to ask her to ask the chef if the sauce was gluten free because she said she "thought" it was. The meal came and I was so disappointed. It was served in a large skillet with tomatoes and lemon...both of which I didn't eat. Why would they be in there in the first place?! I was left with 8 shrimp and a scoop of rice. The shrimp were not cleaned and deveined properly. One shrimp wasn't even cut open. A few were deveined but still had the vein hanging on to it. And the others were cut open but not deveined. This disgusted me! Its a Fish house...cleaning the shrimp should be a no-brainer. I also thought that the dish was way over priced...as were so many others on the menu. Needless to say I will not be coming back.

Love this place. We often go to this location bec. it is very close to my office or whenever we want to celebrate a bday. The service is great, the food is exceptional and best of all, we're in and out in an hour flat. I recently tried their sushi selection. We ordered a tuna tataki roll, a rainbow roll and a few spicy tuna hand rolls. I must say that we were pleasantly surprised at how yummy each dish tasted. Though being a bit of a sushi snob, I don't think that I would ever forego any of our current sushi faves. However, I will definitely have a broader choices that will go outside of my usual dishes: sand dabs in lemon butter and capers (YUM!) or the hazelnut crusted sea bass (also very YUM.) See you soon, King's.

Had a long day, went out for a late night dinner on my birthday. Feeling the seafood munchies. I heard that management is kicking ass and taking names to shape up the service. So here I am, giving it another try... We were seated promptly. Our mixed drinks were perfect. We had the salmon, albacore sushi and Philly roll for appetizers. Very good, just like the last time we visited. The albacore has a kick to it, tangy spice. We could have eaten that all night :) Place was nice and clean, the busser was doing a great job and keeping busy. That's always a good indicator. Our server was "Beth" and she did a great job making sure we had everything we needed. Feeling like lobster... I had the wild spiny tail lobster (came with 2 lobster tails). It was a little pricey, but don't mind paying if I walk away happy. Good chunky size tails, nice color, cooked to perfection. The lobster flavor was great. The butter had nice flavor to compliment and wasn't overpowering. Didn't need to be. Had the grilled zucchini side, never had that before... it was good. Lightly grilled with olive oil. Also had the potatoes, seasoned and cooked nicely. I enjoyed my meal very much. My wife had the wild Alaskan king crab... ordered the larger size. Initially it didn't look like very much, but there was a mix-up in the kitchen out came our server "Beth" with the rest of her plate. Nice portion. My wife loved it. Patty had the same sides that I did. Absolutely no room for desert! Great job!! Keep doing what your doing. I'll be back for more. Mr.C

It has been at least two years since we have eaten here (primarily because we have a bad habit of rarely venturing out of our immediate area for a meal). The food has always been great. It is one of the few seafood restaurants where the emphasis is on the seafood. On this particular night the food was a good as we remembered, but the service was truly exceptional. My order arrived slightly undercooked (a fine line for yellowtail which should not be overcooked). The manager not only brought an entirely new, excellently prepared entrée (and did not merely place it in the microwave as so many places do), but also removed the item from our bill. Most importantly though, the manager and server were gracious and accommodating while addressing the problem. It's a sad statement that this event was so noteworthy among restaurants today.

We have always been fans of King's, for business and pleasure . We recently went to the Orange location for the first time. Our server, David, was exceptional. He knew his oysters and that is important to an oyster lover ! He really knows the menu and we never felt rushed. The manager, Mark, stopped by in the early stage of the dinner and to check at the end how everything went for the evening. He is a great host. All of the staff was friendly. The crab legs were divine and my husband had a delicious steak. The hardest part was deciding which side dish to complete the meal. All was wonderful and we cannot wait to go back. Thank you King's Orange !

I apologize to my waitress for not remembering her name. She completely rocked. Hubby had an assortment of 6 oysters ( I close my eyes for this portion of the show) She folded up a menu and marked the ones he was having, in order. Cool. The bread is divine. The macadamia crusted halibut is divine-er-er. Perfect. Crunchy crust, flawlessly cooked, and I'm fussy about seafood. I want to take a bath in the butter sauce for the corn. Sorry for the visual, but it's that good. Hubby hated his fried catfish. His fault for not knowing farm-raised are not bottom feeders, which changes the taste. I say for the better, but he's weird that way. He mentioned it to our waitress, politely, and the chef came out to discuss it with him. Way Cool. The martinis (one each) were tasty. $70+ for lunch is a little extreme in my book.

Walked into the restaurant for dinner a bit late but Cassandra welcomed us to sit where we liked and made some great recommendations for us. Even though we were there past closing, she didn't rush us at all and we had a great time. We'll definitely be back again soon.

This review is for the bar area only (although the food is the same in the restaurant.) I come here for the oysters. There is actually a shucker who can give you advice so you will not be unhappy. Get a sampler or just go straight for the Kumamoto Oysters. The Blood Orange Martini is recommended. Fresh bread is good for taking the edge off your hunger. The fish specials are pricey, but I'm beginning to see that good fish is more expensive and I have no time for bad fish. The sushi is fine, but not likely to pull me from a real sushi bar. The steamed clams are pretty good too, but not the best in the area. Avoid coming here before Duck games or concerts at the pond since the restaurant will be full of people trying to justify the free park/walk by having a drink here.

Love the food at Kings. Keep hoping to see chargrilled oysters on the menu. One of the chefs actually made them for us one day...it was a slow afternoon. Our server suggested I make my request on Yelp as the managers supposedly keep up with Yelp. So, please add chargrilled oysters to the regular menu. Check out Acme Oysters in New Orleans or Tomales Bay Oyster Company. These places do it right.

The Oysters are very fresh and delicious and they always have a nice daily selection. The fresh seafood menu is fairly broad and I've always been very satisfied with any of my selections. I highly recommend the Bread Pudding for dessert. It is Fantastic! My only complaint iis that the service has been slow on more than one occasion. My wife and had dinner there last Sunday and the restaurant wasn't at all crowded. We ordered a dozen oysters to start with and I ordered a cocktail. They shucked and served our oysters and it took another 10 minutes to get my cocktail ??? I couldn't find our waitress to find out why, and when she finally brought my drink , she apologized, but didn't give any good reason why it took 15 minutes to get a drink served. I'd give the restaurant 4 stars if the service was better.

Kings has phenomenal seafood. My husband and I have been enjoying their cuisine for years. A new addition is our very favorite, friendly server, JILL :). She's sweet and attentive, trys to make sure we have the best experience each time - which for us is usually once a week lately. We own our own company in Garden Grove and have now started to meet our partners and associates at our special table because Jill takes such good care of us... Thank you, Jill.

Vast menu, printed every day. And yet, the food is not overwhelming, but nor is it underwhelming. It's fine for what it is, because it doesn't try to be Le Bernardin, yet it's better than Fish Grill. We came here with a large party and I ordered the grill yellowtail with sauteed spinach and fries. I shared a dozen oyster with another person. First, the oysters. They were fresh. Slightly briney from the seawater and it "almost" took me to a place close to the ocean. The only reason why it didn't is because we sat in the patio overlooking the parking lot [that's not a knock on the restaurant, that's just where we sat]. Freshly grated horseradish and lemon made those oysters really good. Second, the yellowtail. The only yellowtail I normally eat is at a Japanese restaurant. So, to have it grilled, I wasn't sure what to expect. There was strip of grey-ish flesh that was running down the piece of fish that I think was just how the fish is when it's grilled. It didn't deter me from eating 90% of the fish, so I'm not going to knock the way it was cooked. The spinach...the fries...you get the point. $18 for that fish basically. The spinach and fries [you get to choose 2 sides] seem like it was a throwaway, even though I DID order it. Nothing spectacular. Not reaching for greatness. But for that price, maybe Opah or McCormick's might be a better choice. Although I think Opah might be more like $25 an entree and not $18. Unfortunately for me, in about a week, I would have forgotten about King's Fish, which is quite sad because it wasn't bad. It just wasn't that memorable.

First of all, i'm not a real seafood fan. My husband is though. I just got a small Ceaser salad and some popcorn shrimp, b/c it was the cheapest thing on the menu. My hubbie got the angel hair pasta w/ shrimp. HE HATED IT! 90% of the pasta was covered in chunky tomatoes, and it only had 8 pieces of shrimp in the whole dish (yes, we counted). The strawberry lemonade was really good though :o) Ummm... everything on this menu was way expensive, and I can understand that because it sells expensive items, such as lobster, mahi mahi, oysters, calamari, crab legs, and other expensive types of fish. NOT at all my type of restaurant, but it was the only place that wasn't crowded. Chili's had a wait time of 25 minutes and I was impatient lol. So... maybe i would go back, but i would have to take my time and look over the menu, and bring a butt-load more money.

Yum!!!! The Ono was deelish and so was the lobster crunchy roll. The bread is always fresh out of the oven and we always get the grilled artichoke. You can't go wrong at King's! We've never had a bad meal.

The food is decent but it's not a cheap place. Not many youngster around but mostly business people there for lunch. Instead of my usual Linguine with Manile Clam, I order a charbroiled Chilean salmon with steam jasmine rice and house salad with italian dressing. The salmon piece is about 3 finger wide and 6 inch long. For $12.95, it's kinda expensive. Service is good and all but still it's expensive.

This review is only for the food I've eaten. :) I'm a big seafood fan so King's is right up my alley. I first had King's over in Long Beach and when it opened up in Anaheim (closer to home) it was a nice surprise. I've had the king crab legs (always delish!), lobster, trout, oysters (several varieties), crab cakes, dinner salad and the New England clam chowder (mmmmm...). Everything we've had here has been pretty fresh and as I've mainly ordered items that are raw, steamed, or charbroiled, I don't expect any special sauces. It can get pretty pricey depending on what you order. The parking can be horrendous in this giant movie theater/restaurant mall with the parking lot right in front of King's shared with other restaurants further away. They're a chain seafood restaurant and I'm not sure if it's because I've been to another site before but it feels it. And it's a seafood restaurant, so I try not to order anything that isn't seafood. :)

The bar ambience is amazing. They open the big windows, like the restaurants do in Hawaii, and coupled with the Christmas lights and unusual decor, it's very party-like. The Mexican shrimp are super good, especially the butter/lemon dip sauce that comes with them. Their tropical iced tea is one of the best I've ever had.

UGH. I'm definitely *not* a food snob, but this place was mediocre at best and seriously used so much salt and butter in the SIMPLEST dishes.... such a disappointing experience. We decided to try this place because we had a gift certificate to use, but I will never go back again. Servers were really friendly and the customer service was GREAT, but food was NOT good. We order the "restaurant" favorites too. Sorry!

It wasn't terrible, but it was far from amazing. If you are a fish connoisseur, King's Fish House will probably disappoint. Everything we had was mediocre, from the catfish to the mahi mahi to the cocktails. WAY too expensive for what you get, and the service was lacking as well. I could see this place appealing to SoCal tourists from the midwest that aren't used to eating amazing seafood. Basically, if my friends invited me here I would go, and I would enjoy it. I am not opposed to it, but I would not suggest to come here on my own. **I have since gone to the Laguna Hills location which was much more pleasant: yelp.com/biz/kings-fish-…

I usually enjoy King's Fish. Today I ordered the calimari appitizer. It was chewy and was a bit strange. Tiny, tiny heads and lots of them. About 4 to every ring and the rings where large-ish in relation to the heads. No tails and a few odd chunks of meat that I could not figure where they came from. I am thinking this is frozen cuttlefish? I wanted to ask the server, but my server was not all there. I ordered the grilled ahi which was great as usual.

will never eat at this restaraunt again. To begin, we had a reservation for our party of 9 and were seated OUTSIDE on the patio. It was one of the coldest nights on record in California and they sat us outside next the restrooms and smoking area. Our server came to take our drink orders and asked "Is it warm enought for everyone?" to which everyone replied "No, could you turn the heaters up a little?" The server contends that there is no way to turn the heaters up, so my questions is WHY WOULD YOU ASK SUCH A DUMB QUESTION IF YOU CAN'TFIX IT????Now mind you, we had about 4 elderly women in our party, so the cold could not have been more unacceptable, but to actually seat patrons next to the lavatories and where people are smoking at random was even worse. A They tell us in order to be moved inside, it would be at least an hour wait. Since we were already there, we chose to order. The food order took an hour to prepare and bring, and when they set it down, all of it was cold. We all ate in our coats. The waitress to her benefit was very nice, but at no time did she get a manager to see if there was anything else that could be done. It was not even sugessted, so we ate, in the cold, in our coats, next to the restrooms and huffing down smoke along the way. SMH. And what's worse, this was my first time in the OC and at this restaraunt that I have heard so much about. BIG DISSAPPOINTMENT. I would advise, do not go when it is cold out, and do not bring more than 4 people or you could end up outside like a hunting dog on a farm!

Took my dad here on Sunday night for his Birthday. He loves seafod,I don't. He ordered the blackened tilapia looked good & he enjoyed it with corn & steamed rice. I had the fish & chips plate with spinach & skinny fries, which I found odd to accompany the fish. Steak fries pair better. The cod was great but the breading was just somewhat ok. I doused it with vinegar & tartar sauce. Really, the quality of the fish deserves so much more. Prior to dinner we were given a cold loaf of sourdough bread. Its odd because most places serve it warm. There were not very many patrons but I'd come again, maybe to try their scalllops skewer which I had had my eye on. Our waitress Sima was very sweet & was able to put up with my 68 yr old Dad's sarcastic jokes, constant menu questions & grumpy old men quips.

We had a delightful experience and our waiter, David C. (Cohen) was fantastic. His knowledge and attentive, professional service made the evening. I hope that King's Fish House knows what a treasure they have in David. His talent is what you would expect from a five star, exclusive resort staff member. Oh, and the food was excellent. A smart resort owner would snatch David up and be very lucky to have him. My only complaint was that the mojito was sweeter than I like, and that they should add single malt scotch to the bar (preferably from Islay region). Blended scotch is criminal for an establishment that serves world class seafood and has world class wait staff.

A few weeks I came to Kings Fish House to meet a date. Arriving a little early I sat at the bar with Sara. As I sat down, I could see that she was busy, so patiently I waited. Much to my surprise she greeted me with a wonderful smile before I could even get my purse on the bar. She said she would be right with me and boy was she right. Within minutes I had a menu and drink in front of me. And this all while, waiters were lined up waiting for drinks. She was a drink-making machine. Sara even made time to go over the menu with me and answered any questions I had. Unfortunately, my date never showed. I am sure Sara noticed my embarassment when she realized he wasn't coming. Nonetheless, my experience at Kings was amazing. Sara convinced me to treat myself and have a nice dinner. She recommended the Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut with grilled zucchini and garlic mash potatoes. The food was fantastic. I am not much of a wine drinker, but Sara suggested a phenomenal chardonnay to pair with my dinner. That experience was the best I have had at a restaurant in a long time. Thank you Sara and Kings Fish House. Although Sara was working hard, it was discouraging to see what I could only assume as management, standing around while Sara hustled to wash dirty glasses and make drinks for the other waiters

I have been to the Long Beach King'sFish House, and the one in Orange, and I have to say that they are pretty mediocre when it comes to their entrees. They do serve sushi..which is surprisingly excellent for an American Restaurant. Their clam chowder is also pretty savory and tasty! I actually went to the Orange King's Fish House last week with my cousins and boyfriend. I ordered the Wild Eastern pan fried scallops. The scallops were really not that fresh....they had a rubbery texture to it...and the garlic mashed potatoes were just okay. ..nothing special about it. The MacnCheese were pretty good..I would say the macncheese were probably the best thing on my entree dish..sad I know. My boyfriend absolutely loved their fish and chips! He scarfed those down in no time! All in all..the only time I would probably go back is if I felt like snacking on sushi or having some soup/appetizers to munch on while gossiping with friends. Other than that, I probably wouldn't go back...unless I didn't have to pay for it. :)

I took a friend who was not a fish eater to King's. I told her she probably didn't like fish because she had not had GOOD fish. I asked the waitress what she recommended and based on the fact that I was dining with someone that was just reopening her mind to eating fish, she recommended the hazelnut encrusted salmon. It was FANTASTIC and now my friend asks to go back at least once a month. Not only is the food fantastic, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. You can't go wrong at King's.

George Lanz was our server. And, for me, having him as our server was the best part of the experience. He was helpful, courteous and incredibly funny. Very funny. He was a really nice guy. My boyfriend and I were both very happy with his personable and attentive service--it made the evening even more enjoyable. Excellent service (with some stand up comedy for good measure) and good food=5 stars.

Okay, perhaps I'm exaggerating, but I was slightly overwhelmed by the vast menu selection of this place. We are talking 11x17, single spaced, size 11 font. That's not a particular good thing for me as I have a terrible time making up my mind when there is TOO many choices on the menu. I also tend to suspect that it is nearly impossible for a restaurant to do all their dishes well if there are too many offerings...and I was right in this case. For appetizers, we ordered the fried calamari. It was good, but nothing special. For my entree, I ordered the red rockfish and it was extremely bland. I also tried a bite of the california yellow tail and it wasn't any better. Seems like they rely solely on the tartar sauce that is included with every fish entree for taste. How about some seasoning? salt? pepper? something? For the price, I expected something more. Only saving grace for me was the service. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and very polite. I probably won't be going back. There are better choices out there if you are in the mood for seafood.

Their food is always good... Dependable... Consistant. It's a great place for a date, or a meeting. I'm kind of a snob with my fish... They prepare it perfectly. I'm a big fan of their grilled Macadamia Nut Halibut, or their sand dabs which are a yummy, buttery comfort fish. Sidekicks- Zucchini and Mac n' cheese.

King's Fish House is probably one of the best fish restaurants in North OC. In the effort of full disclosure, I am a regular patron, so I am fairly biased. King's does an excellent job with fresh fish, every day. They start you off with a printed menu, based on what the kitchen has in that day. I usually get something blackened, if the fish calls for it, but their catches range from Chilean Sea Bass to Alaskan Halibut and freshwater trout to salmon. The selection totally ranges upon season, so it's difficult to cover everything. Pick your fish of choice first and then ask the waiter how it is best prepared if you don't know what you're doing. Their sides are excellent. Garlic mashed potatoes, steamed veggies (which always go well with fish), and the mac and cheese are among my personal favorites. Their sourdough bread is pristine. Douse it in copious amounts of butter and the potential for you to fill up before dinner (as your mother warned you about) is astounding. Wine selection is not overwhelming, but it fits in excellently with both the caliber of food and the caliber of the bill. Parking, unlike most Los Angeles joints, is easy. The lot is RIGHT there. Hop to, before your fish gets cold.

I am a huge fan of Oysters and if you want make sure you get what you paid for .. this is the place. I try not to judge a place until I have eaten or visited the establishment 3+ times and tonight will be the 5th time. I also agree with the others in the bread.. I go through about 3 servings of bread with my order. Great Stuff. This is a great place to just hang out to eat, drink, and be merry. I suggest get the sampler and a shot of great tequila (padron silver or better) with your oysters and continue on with some cold cold beer. The prices are a bit above average, but your getting fresh oysters. I would hate to eat cheap oysters and heave & do the diarrhea thing all night.. Get the drift! Hope you enjoy this. Live well and eat out more often!

I LOVED this place. We showed up at 7 PM on Saturday night with no reservation and were seated within a half an hour. Our waiter was quick, attentive and super helpful. The prices were totally reasonable considering the quality of the food and I was impressed by our waiters knowledge of the menu items and all of the different ways each thing can be cooked depending on your taste. He made some great suggestions, which we took and were glad we did! The spiny lobster was delicious and had TONS of meat in it. The sweet buttered corn was the perfect side dish to compliment the flavor of the lobster meat. I will definitely be returning and bringing lots of friends with me!

Our family of seafood lovers goes to King's for special occasions and has never left disappointed. Being a creature of habit, I tend to order my favorite every time (macadamia crusted halibut with orange butter sauce with garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach on the side.) It has always been a very generous cut, perfectly cooked and delicious. Yes, the wait without a reservation can be long, and it is not cheap, but we feel it is worth it. Their New England Clam Chowder and Grilled Artichokes make for yummy appetizers.

I must really love this place, and I do, because I don't even care that when I go there on a Saturday night, the wait is extremely long between the time you order and the time the food arrives. I don't even mind that the sushi we started with is made by a short, little hispanic guy within eye shot of where we were sitting. I even stopped finding it odd that the men's restroom is only accessible by going outside the building around back. The food is just damn good! We were there with 8 people and everyone loved their food. I tried for the first time the linguine with clams and it came with a generous amount of baby clams. The pasta was nicely cooked in a tasty garlicy lemon broth. Their mac & cheese is probably one of the best kept secrets in the OC and their New England clam chowder is one of the tastiest I've ever had anywhere, not too thick with just the right amount of creaminess. The service was attentive and on point as usual. I go here often and will continue to as long as they keep doing what they have been, serving good food at reasonable prices. Honestly the only reason I didn't give Kings 5 stars is that the seating is not great for larger parties. They cram you in to round tables and stuff it in the main seating area resulting in alot of back bumping as people and wait staff try and get by your table. Oh well.....

The food is amazing. For appetizers I would recommend the New Orleans Shrimp. They also have amazing NE style Clam Chowder. The Calamari is also quite tasty. They carry a variety of Bayhawk Brewery beers on tap that are appetizing. I recommend the honey wheat. Their sushi list is quite impressive considering they are not primarily a sushi place. The spicy tuna roll was scrumptious. It was slightly spicy with incredibly fresh tuna. The white pickled ginger served with the sushi roll was outstanding. And of course they have real wasabi which seems rare in the states. They have a remarkable salad as well. Its a Dutch Blue Cheese salad with walnuts. The walnuts taste toasted with a touch of sweet and sesame. The 3 inch chunk of blue cheese is staggeringly generous on an appetizer salad. You can order an entree version of the salad as well. It has a house Balsamic with a hint of cheese in it. The Swordfish Puttanesca Pasta is complex, flavorful, and memorable. The olives are really what does it for this dish. But, typically I am not a lover of Swordfish and they really pull it off. The Cioppino with Dungeness Crab, Shrimp, Calamari, Mussels, Clams and Fresh Fish was amazing. It was breathtaking. It was slightly spicy but full of tomato goodness. It was stuffed full of seafood. My only complaint - it did not come with enough dipping bread. Crab was fairly easy to break and was obviously fresh. The Shrimp and mussels were delicious. The calamari was outstanding. But truly you could have floated canned tuna in that sauce and it probably would have been stunning. I have also been and had the spiny lobster, and the Parmesan encrusted Ono. My only complaint about the menu is that it does not offer me any Sea Bass options. As Sea Bass is really more of a type of a fish as opposed to a distinct species they should easily be able to offer sea bass. And I think with their cooks and recipes that they would an amazing Sea Bass and I hope to see it added to their menu. Overall a fantastic experience. The service was A+. I have sat inside, outside, and at a booth near the bar. All those options are pretty good. The Outside with the heater on at night was by far the best for me though. Also if your looking for a fun night out - go here for the food and then go across the street to the Irish Pub for the live music and some liquid Irish culture. Big movie theater nearby as well.

Been going here for seafood for a few years now. Definitely great for seafood choices. If you're a seafood fan, you gotta give it a shot. Fried seafood, grilled seafood, baked seafood, seafood with pasta... can't go wrong. My number one recommendation here: seafood. Number two would be the mac and cheese. Seriously though, Kings is a nice spot. Never have had a bad experience here. Food is a little on the pricey side but it's mostly worth it. I had fried scallops last night (trying to re-create my Seattle experience), and I was expecting five, maybe six scallops. Nope... plate was filled... I could barely finish everything. My wife and I usually polish off our meals with the Creme Brulee, which is always great.

I went to King's Fish House for my anniversary. I was greatly disappointed that they did not acknowledge my anniversary as other restaurants do. I wrote a bad yelp review and the manager contacted me afterwards. They apologized for what happened and send me a gift card and an invitation to go back as their special guest. That made me feel like they really care about their customers and about the service they offer. This made a huge impact on me as a customer because restaurants don't go to that extreme for their customers. I give them 5 stars because they care about their customers and, on top of that, they are a great restaurant with great food. THANK YOU KING'S FISH HOUSE for taking the time to present great customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody and everybody. With King's Fish House, you definitely won't go unnoticed!!!

"Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends." -Walt Disney. I worked for Disneyland for many years, and I've got to tell you, all they ever talked about was "The Show!" Everything last second of your time in public view of the park is in a performance of a show that you're a part of, and everything must be perfect. When one aspect is clearly off-kilter, so is the rest of the show. So what the heck does this have to do with King's Fish House? Well, the evening was just about perfect except for one aspect that just drowned out the rest of the experience. The Food: Marvelous. 5 Stars. I had the Linguine a Manila Clams. The creamy white wine sauce was sublime. My guy had the Calamari Plate. Tender, savory, and delicious. The Lobster Bisque Soup was drool-worthy, and slightly spicy and bold flavors. The Service: Good. 4 Stars. Our server was attentive and sweet. Other staff members brought us refills if she was attending to other tables. The Atmosphere: Negative Stars. About 3/4 of our meal was spent listening to one of the staff members open up a huge ladder attempting to get head start on changing the banners inside the restaurant. CLANK - CLANK - BANG!! accompanied just about every bite. Once we even got a loudly exclaimed, "PINCHE CABRON!!!" when he hammered his own finger by accident. Wow. Dinner AND a show. Just not the kind of show we were expecting... I know it was late, but sheesh! There were still a handful of seated tables. We were going to mention it to the manager but the table beside us had less patience and spoke to a one before we got a chance to flag someone down. It still didn't stop the racket for quite a while.

Came in a few days ago and had a great experience. We were greeted by Morgan and were seated right away. She was very friendly and professional. Everything was very good. We had the clam chowder soup and shrimp tacquitos to start off with. If you don't like seafood there are plenty of other stuff you can order. Definitely recommend this spot!

Best place for happy hour! Their bar area is huge with a lot of outdoor seating and a great ambiance. .. Love just about everything here. A lot of times I just do appetizers and dessert. Have to get the clam chowder and fresh oysters every time! Kara waited on us last time and she gave great service! I tried their new Strawberry Shortcake and it was pretty good but my favorite is still the key lime pie... Will be back again. Seriously though this place got me laid. Great place to take a girl if she is into this kind of food. Go to King's! You'll get laid!

Came here yesterday for a birthday party for lunch, not too busy. We were a party of about 15 and had three servers? A little strange but okay. With three servers you would think they would know what was going on but when asked very basic questions no one really knew the answer. We got the "jumbo" shrimp pasta which was reallllllly good but the shrimps by no means were jumbo. Had some of the crab Louie salad which was huge and really good definitely worth the $. Bread was amazing and had a taste of the clam Chowder which was really good also. So what really threw me off was when we ordered the lobster bisque to go and heated it up later and it was disgusting. Really sweet and fishy. Had a few of our friends try it to make sure we weren't crazy and same thoughts. Couldn't even take a bite. Threw it away! Very disappointing for an expensive bowl of soup.

Two recent visits during happy hour - VERY different outcome. The first visit we had horrible service and even when the Manager came by and said he was going to comp something, that didn't happen on the final bill but not worth the wait to try to fix this. We waited for a good 10 min. before asking for bread and water and it was downhill from there on... except for the food when it finally arrived. The appetizer menu cost is fabulous and if you have a cravin' for oyster sliders, these are GREAT. The Calamari and Fish Taco's are also very good and priced well. Second visit we were pleasantly surprised that they were MUCH less crowded and the service was "good". We will be going back. My thought for the management is to run some schematics for the area with what's happening at the Honda Center and Angel Stadium and try to predict when you will need extra staff to improve service.

This place was not good at all. My family went here thinking that it was a good seafood place, unfortunately it wasn't. Do not get any white fish because it is dry, the scallops were over cooked, and considering the price, we did not get that much. We did not receive the amount we expected for the price, and ended up eating at another place after. I do not recommend spending your money here.

Came here for my boyfriends birthday and I must say this place is pretty goood! I ordered the clam spaghetti and it tasted really fresh.. so fresh that my dish had a rock in it! The managers handled it pretty well. I wasn't upset, just more surprised than anything and they took care of the situation. The employees are very helpful and the food is fresh. 4 stars overall :)

Jennifer F. is AMAZING! I hadn't been to King's in quite some time and the layout of the menu had changed since my last visit. Although not complicated to read, Jennifer F. was able to show me where all of my long time favorite meals were located in no time flat! Coming from the service industry myself, I can definitely spot someone who has mastered their craft, and Jennifer F. has done just that! I look forward to coming back, enjoying some more of that delicious New England Clam Chowder, and washing it down with another perfect glass of Sauvignon Blanc!

This is a combo of two recent visits. King's is my go-to place when I'm n the area. I like their bar atmosphere and the decor is fun with lots of seating. I was surprised to see a different menu, too a little more effort to navigate,,,4 pages long (like reading a book, I guess) but more items have descriptions with them now which is good. Our servers, Tami (and Cliff the second time) were great. They were both excited about the new menu items and were knowledgeable and able to answer all of our silly questions. I saw that they have rock crab now so that will be my next item when I come to King's again. I tried the new ceviche and it had chunks of all kinds of fish in a lemon/onion juice base with several other flavors dancing amongst them. It was served with chips and I would surely order it again! I also ordered the New Orleans bbq shrimp which is sauteed shrimp in a sweet n spicy sauce with bread..great appetizer. It was hard to decide on an entree because so many of their new items sounded so good. I wound up choosing the filet cooked medium rare (cooks nailed that one!). They have some delicious new sides...brussels sprouts with bacon and cheese and my favorite: roasted corn, the corn is always amazing! I wish my local King's Fish House had this new menu! I will definitely be back again soon!

A few years back, when I was a consultant in IT, I made it to King's Fish House because it's where the permanent staff liked to have their department meetings. Since then, it's been - out of sight, out of mind. Until I was in the area for an Angel's game. Parking never seems to be an issue. Not even on a weekend, nor during the evenings as I've been to other restaurants in the plaza, as well as the movie theater. Staff has always been friendly and pretty helpful and somewhat attentive considering how busy they were. As for the food - I opted for the combo platter so I could have a little bit of everything. It wasn't bad, nor was it memorably great as well. I didn't get sick so that was a definite bonus. Overall, for the prices, I'd opt to dine elsewhere.

A solid 4 stars for my experience. The fried oysters I got were done just right. They weren't too heavily breaded and were not dripping in grease--two things I look for. Fries came on the side. Looking back I wish I opted for a different accompaniment. Although I love deep fried foods, there could be too much of a good thing. The decor of the restaurant was fun. Another reviewer had the perfect word for it: kitschy. As nice if a day as it was during my visit, I got to enjoy sitting outside. There wasn't a great view or anything; the patio overlooked the parking lot. Nevertheless, it's one of the perks of being a Southern California. One of the best parts was the server. The young lady was friendly, had good recommendations, and was perfectly attentive.

We used to make this a regular pilgrimage after going to Disneyland. The food was always excellent and the service attentive. Unfortunately, the last two or three times we've come it's been a completely different story. The food is taken a turn for the worse and is really not very good and the service is slow and the servers don't really pay attention. My wife says she would be embarrassed to bring any Japanese friends here the sushi is pretty bad. We ordered green tea and got herb tea. And on top of all of that the waiter space my order until everyone else was done eating. My cioppino tasted like canned tomato sauce and the seafood was completely tasteless. I don't think will be coming here ever again.

2 stars for my food being tasty, the day we went was pretty dead. (Monday) Unfortunately, this rating is so low due to the fact that a rude comment was said in regards to our table, I understand we had about 18 people, but I'm sure it wasn't her first one in life. At the end of the night our server rudely tells her coworkers that she bets were not gonna pay the whole bill, not realizing we were standing behind her. It was very unprofessional and uncalled for, not only did she say that, but she mistakenly charged my friends card for 350.00. I mean, having a great meal with great customer service isn't that hard to ask for... In fact I can vouch for our group and say we were respectful to the staff. If you plan on celebrating a birthday or decide coming with a group, I suggest not to... Ignorance coming from a waitress isn't worth it. The server- Short, Caucasian, short blonde hair with a sarcastic attitude. (Nothing's wrong with sarcasm, but don't do it while handling my food)

My husband and I used to be HUGE fan's of Kings. However, the last time we ate here, we were very disappointed. The quality of the food has declined considerably. Their portions are about 1/2 of what they used to be. I used to LOVE their garlic mashed potatoes.....not anymore. They are out of a box....YUP, the powder stuff mixed with water and hardly any salt, maybe some salt/garlic powder. What a huge downfall! Their garlic mashed potatoes used to be fresh, with yummy fresh garlic and salt and a fluffy buttery taste overall. Not anymore. The breaded shrimp tasted like they were the frozen variety from Costco and just heated up in the oven. Yuck. Will not be going in there anymore, it's just not the same.

One star for the over priced average/ below average food.. I can name a couple of places to get a good moist piece of fish for a quarter of the cost of this place.. Don't get me wrong I will gladly pay a pretty penny $$$ for good food. I guessed I should have noticed something was fishy no pun intended, when the only options on the grilled section are grilled plain or blackened? Well I ordered the $20 piece of Ono and I didn't get it blackened but maybe I should have. Although something tells me that it wouldn't have made a difference. The Ono turned out to be dry, and when I asked for a dry baked potato with a side of sour cream, I didn't really mean for the potato to be dry. I did mentioned this to the waiter and he said "yeah we shouldn't be serving you that kind of baked potato" so I thought to myself then why did you serve it to me that way? After that The waiter came back to say "the manger wants to offer you a free dessert" I respectfully declined and thought what I really want is a good dinner not dessert. I mean the manager never even came to my table to discuss my discontent with the average food.. I can only speculate that he's probably tired of hearing complaints about the average food so he sends the waiter to do it instead.. I mean if he truly cared then he would have came to the table.. The second star is for the bread and the oysters that were good ( which it's pretty hard to mess up oysters that aren't being cooked ) and the waiter for trying to apologize for the quality of the food which is pretty much out of his control except realizing the poor quality before delivering it to the customer and questioning the chef preparing the food as well.. So to sum up I really felt ripped off even though they did take my meal off the check. So folks don't be fooled by the big ambiance, fancy decorations and lights it's a facade for at best a diner. Disappointing!!

Great food, yet sometimes medicore, C-student sevice. I love Kings. For me, the best Spicy Tuna roll out there, and I dont know why that is, as spicy tuna rolls are fairly common! Dont's get to King's nearly as often as Id like to. It's a little bit "out of my circle" as far as how far I'll typically go for a bite to eat. About a 20 minute drive from where I live and work to get to their Orange or Huntington Beach locations. I visited on a Friday evening, July 25, 2014, arriving before 6pm, and leaving after 7:30PM. I was a female in her 30s and dining alone. My intention was to come for "happy hour", have a cocktail or two, and an appetizer. Maybe I could be talked into a whole dinner. I was greeted by a male host that held the door for me, and was very kind. And then inside the door by a young blond woman in her 20s, She greeted me enthusiastically and kindly. I appreicated her intutiveness that I was dining alone. I asked for a seat on the patio, and was taken instantly. My issue with my visit last night, was with my server Jenny. Nice girl, came right over to my table. I explained my intentions. To have a drink, and an appetizer of sorts. Maybe if something really sounds good, some dinner. I really processed something though on my drive home, and decided I would offer feedback about it. Jenny did her role just as any server does. She took my order, she was responsive, and timely. But bothers me though, from a guest service standpoint is the following. The table behind me was VERY close in proximity (as restaurant setups can often be a tight fit). I saww as she greeted the couple behind me. Granted, I dont know if those diners were on their very first visit or not, but what I noticed is Jenny absolutely engaged with them. She recited menu items from memory, Asked them, "What are you feeling like (to eat) tonight?" and at one point even correctly named an obscure piece of produce when the guest questioned it. From my perspective, she really engaged those guests, really treated them well. With me, she just took my order, said, "ok! okay!" (and I made 3 separate orders to my bill, as if ordering ala carte. I was there to relax, take my time and have a good meal). She did ask, once or twice if everything is ok, but any server on earth asks that. The restaurant was not empty, but there was not a queue to be seated. So its not that she was in a stress -test of tables to serve. I left wondering if I was treated differently because I was dining alone? I do this frequently. This is not an uncommon phenomonon in todays world. Everyone is different, but I have had many servers come to the table, have a seat at my table, and actually converse with me about menu options. Granted, I have heard from many people that they would never be happy or comfortable with that level of "rapport", but it scores big points for me. It makes me feel like the only guest on their mind at that moment-- and it should be that way. And then it didnt help that when I was carded for alcohol, --which I respect greatly and is good ethical busines. I highly respect this in principle of anyone looking under 47 years of age. Jenny asked me to not only take my ID out of the viewfinder of my wallet, but she looked at my photo and then looked back at me. At one point, I smiled at her to "prove the point." I was maybe 21 when that photo was taken, and I am now 33. That was a little over the top, and I felt a little uncomfortable. I can't imagine she spends her whole shift scrutinzing legal identification to avoid serving underage guests. Now on to the food... Had a lemon drop martini--- excellent. I would love another. A spicy tuna roll---which again, delicious and reminds me why I like Kings. Fresh, well-presented. the Spicy Seafood Chowder: This was new for me. I guess with the word "Chowder" I was expecting a cream base. This was more Boston-styled choweder with a thin tomato base. I ate it all, but it wasnt my favorite. Probably would do the Lobster Bisque again or the Clam chowder. Ended the meal with a "Trojan" role. This was also excellent. Portion size was more than excellent. Bigger than the spicy tuna, and bigger than I expected. total bill: Just under $40.00 before gratuity. I still love Kings. I have teased about going again for lunch this weekend and seeing if I can have a better overall experience.

We have been regular patrons since they opened. This past saturday even took the cake. We like the bar area, watch some sports, love the vibe. We were just finishing dinner, hadnt even signed the bill, when some piece of you know what, older lady too, sat down in our booth to hold it for her numbskull family!!! Never in my 60 years have I even seen this happen. Now it is acceptable to lurch all around the restaurant to find seating, then just sit down and wait for the diners to finish. It is all your's you stupid, disrespectful scum bag.

A solid, unpretentious spot for good quality seafood. What I like about King's, first and foremost, is the variety of both wild and farm-raised fish on the menu - I recommend trying something new every time. I have always opted for a grilled entree, but have also tried many of their sushi rolls, which can't stand up to an equally-priced Japanese restaurant, but are decent for an American chain nonetheless. To compliment the number of choices, King's also has a very knowledgeable wait staff, something that seems hard to come by in a sensibly-priced North Orange County restaurant. They can facilitate anything from determining which wine goes best with which fish, to distinguishing one oyster variety from another. My only minor grievance is that the portioning often seems a bit "off." For example, during my last visit, my baked potato looked more like my entree, and my swordfish, while delicious, looked more like one of my sides. All things considered, this is great spot to hit on your way to a ballgame (or a puckgame, if you're into that sort of thing). Not only will you leave feeling satisfied without feeling stuffed - you'll leave knowing you ate well without getting shafted by Angel's Stadium's dining fees (or, Honda Center's dining fees, to keep things consistent).

We always love to go to King's for a family occasion or "just because". We love Frank and ask for him because he is always helpful and attentive. He is also a lot of fun! The food is great and there is a great variety to choose from. I highly recommend King's Fish House.

In a court with a bunch of interesting new and established restaurants. It is a chain and feels like one. We strolled in for lunch. Not crowded but service was pretty slow with no check ins. Caeser salad with chicken was bland. Even extra dressing didn't help. Ok but with so much competition within 100 yards, they need to step up their game. I'd pass.

First, let me say that I usually love coming here. Most of my prior visits to King's would have gotten a 4 star review. But, I just didn't enjoy the food at today's lunch as much as I have in the past. I always order the scallops with corn and the mac & cheese (my friends call it my "yellow meal"). The scallops have always been great, but this time the corn wasn't the regular buttered corn, but a roasted corn with red bell peppers in it....not what I expected and not as good as the old buttered corn. The mac & cheese had an additional cheese added to it that changed the flavor and I just didn't care for it. My co-worker, who was also at the table, was really looking forward to a certain pasta dish and found out it was no longer being served. I really wish King's hadn't decided to change up the menu/recipes and would have stuck with things that had worked in the past.

Dined here with some of my associates during a recent convention in Anaheim. It came recommended by a concierge and I think she made a darn fine recommendation. There was a pretty good wait to get a table. We didn't mind: 1) we didn't have a reservation and 2) it gave us a chance to sip some California craft brews at the bar while we waited. Once seated we splurged on oysters on the half shell and sushi (the sushi [rolls] weren't my idea -- just so you know; nothing against sushi, but I don't think a fish house is the place to eat it) and San Francisco sourdough bread. It's been a long time since I've had sourdough this good, probably since the last time I was in California. Warm, crusty, fresh and sour with a slab of sweet cream butter and a glass of good wine is one of the finest combos in the universe. One of my friends noted something peculiar. He asked, "For a fish house, you don't smell even the slightest whiff of seafood, do you?" He was right. We didn't. The assertion being that, even before we dined, they must have pretty fresh stuff here because at many fish places, even if they are decent, you'll get a little smell of seafood in the air. I ordered Macadamia Nut Crusted Wild Alaskan Halibut with mashed potatoes and a side of spinach. It was great. Well seasoned, tender and flaky -- just the way I like my halibut, not just for the hell of it. ;) (couldn't resist, sorry) The service was good. So good that just as soon as we finished one of our beers, she was there to get us another ... enough to make us not dare consider driving the rental car back to the hotel. We opted for a cab. The car could wait in the parking lot until tomorrow. We all enjoyed King's Fish House. If I become a Anaheim concierge anytime soon, I won't hesitate to recommend it to my hotel's guests either.

This used to be one of our favorite places to go in Anaheim because we often stay at Orange Land and it is walking distance and the food was so good. Last time we went, it just wasn't very good. The portions were small, the fish not so fresh and the service VERY VERY slow. Also the menu has change draumatically. It used to have many varieties of things and now it was only a couple of pages and difficult to understand. BOO!

Listen YOU, I don't care that you spend 3/4 of your life at the gym. That your make up and hair is always perfect. And please please please stop with the constant reminder of your accomplishments. I'm done begging, stealing and borrowing for you...That's why I am leaving you tomorrow. I want me something easy like Sunday Morning. King's fish house is just that: burnt out from gorgeous model types, my 2 AM go to. Always there, friendly service, busy but somehow always with a table available. Solid menu with bit of everything. I love the oysters and the modest but well thought out beer selection. Baby, I like you cause you are easy like Sunday morning. And stop asking me why you never meet my friends... BTW,They are not open 2 AM. Happy eating - R

Me and my girlfriend went to King's last weekend for dinner, and had an amazing experience. Here is a breakdown of how things went: Drinks: I noticed they had a few different offerings in the beer dpartment, I had the boont amber ale, nice nutty and caramel-like. My girlfriend had the desert pear margarita, which was so dang good I drank most of it.. Meal: I was in the mood for pasta, so I ordered the salmon tortellini, filled with ricotta, in a cream sauce with mushrooms and smoked salmon...I would definitely order it again! My girl is not a big seafood kind of person, so she ordered the southwest chicken salad. The salad did not let us down! It had chipotle ranch, avocado, black beans, cilantro, and these wonderful sweet morsels of corn. I never thought of putting corn in a salad...lol. For desert, we had the key lime pie, which was simply refreshing and tart, the way a key lime pie is supposed to be. Service: Our server Tami was outstanding! She was very knowledgeable on the menu, and was attentive, our drinks were never empty. Overall, I would definitely go back. The atmosphere is laid back, food was excellent, service was on point, and they serve BEER! That;s all I could ask for, and they delivered.

Came here for the lobster tail and since my girlfriend doesn't eat seafood she got the steak. She ordered it medium rare and it turned out excellent. Lobster was fantastic. Sides were good, I recommend the mac and cheese (bread crumb topping!). Asparagus was delicious as well. Our server Isaac was super friendly and attentive. Amazing desert! Caramel ice cream on top of bread with sea salt. Get it. Eat it. Savor the deliciousness. Everything we had was perfect. I can't wait to come back and try something else.

Maybe because it's located near Angels Stadium and the Honda Center so the atmosphere is much more sports-bar like and rowdy than other locations so don't go if you have 3 generation of family in your party of grandparents and children etc. Not really family friendly, kind of loud and rushy.

The two times we've been here we always say we need to come more often! It is EXCELLENT! Great selection of FRESH, LOCALLY sourced seafood. A scarcity in North OC. We started with a nice crab cocktail, with fresh pulled crab meat. I had the wild river salmon. It was incredible, so much so that I don't even know what my date had. But he loved his, too. Service was prompt & friendly. I recommend going EARLY to avoid waiting.

I avoid chain restaurants whenever possible, but I do like King's. It's fresh, seasonal, and has many choices for whatever you're in the mood for. Of course, the bill is going to be pricier than that of TGIFriday's or some other chain, but that's because you're ordering seafood! I ordered the Trout with sauteed spinach and mashed garlic potatoes, while my friend had the Shrimp Skewers and corn. I would definitely recommend the spinach and the potatoes! I think I might have taken more delight in those than my actual entree haha. The service was forgettable, since Mikey didn't have much of a personality, but our water glasses were constantly refilled and there wasn't any mistake with our food. Overall, it was a enjoyable meal and a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Good service and lots of room to stretch out. Some restaurants pack people in but even though it was a full house for Valentines night it felt uncrowded. The lobster was so fresh and delicious. And so were the oysters. The clam chowder was too sweet and watery and not enough clams. The sour dough bread was great. Oh one more thing I highly recommend the hurricanes.

Had a business lunch for three here on Wednesday, 7/31. My food was okay, nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about either. I opted for a lump crab louie salad. It was huge but the crab meat could have been a tad better. It was okay, just nothing special. I needed more dressing as the salad was huge but the dressing serving was petite. My two business associates opted for fresh fish. The meal was pricey as lunch came in around $100 for 3. We had no alcohol, no desserts and no appetizers? Would I come here again? Maybe for dinner if in the area. But for the prices they charge I am sure there is better to be found.

Love the kitschy interior, every time I go here everyone seems to be having a good time; its an upbeat place. The vibe reminds me a bit of the fish houses in Key West. I prefer to sit in the bar area, its spacious and varied enough to not feel like you're sitting in a bar. Their lower priced fish options really have a lot of value- they are super tasty! (mahi, tilapia, etc.) The spinach, mashed potatoes and corn are all DELICIOUS! I also find their salads to be quite satisfying as well. Shrimp cocktail, mehh, Sushi is surprisingly good. hot sauce wall is rad, but is it Sanitary??? They print their menus daily, so you know you're getting what is available fresh, I like that.

We have been regulars at King's since they opened in Orange many years ago. Unfortunately, we have been witnessing a steady decline in their quality of food, as well as their service. We went last Friday (7/19) and it was the one of the absolute worst dining experience I can remember. First of all, as they always have, the bread plates were on the table, but every one in the stack had crud on them, although you could see they had been "washed." (YUCK) Then, it took forever for our server to come to our table. There were only a few people in there for lunch (which I now think shoud have been a clue!). We ordered & it took a very, very long time to get out food, although none of us ordered anything difficult. I ordered my usual BBQ shrimp. Not only was it COLD by the time I got it, it was the worst shrimp I've ever tasted. It was old, dried out & overcooked. Mind you, that King's BBQ shrimp is one of my all time faves & I have been ordering it forever!!! I was SO disappointed. My mom ordered fried catfish, but it came out grilled. My other half ordered a shrimp Po'boy because we are homesick for N'awlins. Let me just say the sandwich had NO resemblance to a po'boy in any way, shape, form, or taste! Y'all should have done your homework first before adding that to the menu! But hey, our aunt's walnut salad was great. I'm sad that one of my favorite places seems to be going down the tubes.

I've been coming here for years. Met the girls for a birthday lunch today. Unfortunately the menu isn't the only thing that has changed. $20 for 5 small rubbery scallops, a handful of salad and another handful of spinach. Good thing the bread was plentiful and good. Otherwise I would have left hungrier than I arrived. I won't be back any time soon.

Wow! First off it's jammed packed (standing room only) for a wednesday but who wants to eat in an empty restaurant. Jenny seated us within 15min & bloody Mary's at our table ,they were so good! We had oysters, ceviche and sushi for appetizers, all were good! After a few more rounds of margaritas & bloody Mary's we just took our entree home for another night & finished with creme brûlée! Fancy fancy!! Will be back after Disneyland again.

First the good. King's Fish House is very nice looking both outside and in. The service was good and pleasant. We were seated promptly and well attended. However where they fail is where they shouldn't, the food. My wife and I started with fried calamari. It was a bit on the chewy side, but not terrible. I've had worse. I had the grilled swordfish with garlic mashed potatoes while the wife had the thresher shark with the same sides. The plates lacked any presentation. Slab of meet with 2 dollops. The swordfish was meaty and flakey, but lacked much flavor as was the shark. The mashed potatoes seemed made from a box and the rice was nothing more than white sticky rice. Far from the described "jasmine" rice. If the tital price of this meal were about $20 cheaper, I might of walked away content. The price vs quality of food here is greatly divided however. We will not be returning.

This place is so so... servers are nice and helpful. Chain restaurant all the way and food was not what I was hoping for. Went in with my son who seemed to enjoy his meal, but mine was less than hoped for. Why this place was sooo crowded is beyond me. I guess the menu is fairly complete but I found the place on the expensive side - dinner for two without drinks around $67. I could of had Salmon at the circle in one of the smaller places and been more satisfied but since I been to the Kings Fish house in Long Beach and enjoyed myself there I was looking for some of the same experiences. My Blackened swordfish came out skimpy - about 5 oz., sad, dumpy and with a pathetic dollop of guacamole spread across the top. Perhaps they served me the lunch size portion. Spinach was too garlicy and the baked potato was on the small side. Overall my experience was A-Okay as the place is clean and high energy, but for what I paid I would have liked a slightly larger piece of fish that was not as dried out as mine seemed to be, with a little more guacamole. Bread was good and the management staff are professional and very interested in making your fish house experience a good one. I will give King's another try soon.

We had a coupon for this place so we decided to use it. I wasn't really impressed, would give it two stars but holy crap, I really love their bread. As far as the seafood goes, it's just okay. Shrimp was a little overcooked, the fish they have is okay but you need the sauce to make it taste good. The sides are heavy and hearty but nothing to write home about. I don't know, I'm not a huge fan of American seafood. It feels really overpriced and the way it's cooked, it just doesn't bring out the flavor that I like in fish. Service was 'meh'. Even though I wanted more to drink it was tough flagging the waitress down. She basically came around just to do the bare necessities of serving.

We were greeted nicely, seated, and the menu explained (almost as if we were children - I'm almost 60 for Pete's sake). We ordered the steamed mussels and the ceviche for appetizers, a bowl of the spicy seafood soup to share, and the Crab Cakes (with sides) and a Rainbow Roll for our entrees. Per the waitress, these would be staggered out as we were in a small booth. The mussels, ceviche, and soup all arrived at the same time (not staggered). The soup was okay if all you want to taste is spicy and dried-out fish, the ceviche was okay, but watery (have had much better elsewhere). The mussels were great until we hit quite a few that had not been cleaned (still had the beards - cooking mussels 101 - remove beards before cooking). Before we could finish what we had, our entrees were brought to the table. They were perplexed about what to do. My wife apologized for not eating fast enough (jokingly) and I repeated that this was to be staggered. The attitude of the waitress was flippant about the issue, and we muddled through with a crowded table. The crab cakes were average (purchased and cooked ones from Whole Foods that were 5 times better) and the Rainbow Roll was also average (the Krab was too sweet). When we showed and told the waitress about the beards from the mussels, she ran to the manager, who took that off the bill and apologized. It was what he said that worried us, that every now and then they get a batch that are not cleaned properly. This tells me that the mussels and other shellfish are not cleaned and prepped at the restaurant. Can they not see that these were not cleaned, and put them in the pot to cook anyway? Again, cooking mussels 101!! We decided not to try dessert. We did not want to have an average or okay cheesecake (everything else was). This was our first time at this place, and also our last. Note to waitress: Want a better tip, don't be so flippant about how the food comes out. You have more control than that!

We have eaten at King Fish in a different location and because of our high satisfaction there, we felt comfortable coming to this one. Our server was very good - 4 stars, I'd say. She was thoughtful and helpful. My husband and I eat wild fish - and chose the mahi-mahi dish that night. You get to pick a couple of sides which is nice; both my husband and I had a hard time choosing "just" 2!! For both of us, our fish was slightly undercooked; in that it was only slightly undercooked, we did not send it back. One of my sides was fresh vegetable sauté. When I asked, the server told me which vegetables were in it - and it sounded wonderful (it had snow peas in it and I LOVE snow peas!) When my plate arrived, it looked very attractive - and then . . as I ate some of the veggies, it started and fine and then . . on my - something was very spicy hot! Well, after letting our server know, she graciously and immediately asked if I'd like to change to something else, and I did. Later she shared that in the oil they use on this dish that there is something spicy in it!!! It was new to the menu and they had not told her that! So . . it was handled well (and I was not charged for the change in my side' well they do charge you for the new side and then take it off - just how they have to do it.) Three stars due to the undercooked fish - and also that it was very cold in the restaurant. I am not a person who gets cold; I didn't even come into the restaurant with a sweater or coat - and I was cold the entire time; we were not by any doors, etc - so . . .that wasn't a pleasant way to have a meal. We were on a trip and so had eaten out quite a bit; we noticed that it was very noisy in the restaurant. We will try a King's Fish House again, but . .probably not this one.

Pretty good (but far from amazing) seafood with inconsistent service. Excellent bread pudding. Food: I've come here several times with co-workers and with AC for lunch. I've had catfish, salmon, and other dishes and tried various sides. Everything on their very extensive menu is decent, but nothing really stands out other than the bread pudding and the warm potato salad. The macadamia encrusted salmon is very good, but a little oily. Value: The prices are pretty fair for a seafood place. As others have mentioned it's not nearly as cheap as California Fish Grill. Then again, California Fish Grill doesn't have actual waiters, has a very limited menu, inconsistently cooks their fish, and has mediocre sides. As a value proposition, California Fish Grill may be a better deal, but the food is better at King's.

I have several friends who love this place and I don't understand why. I came here once a couple of years ago and I was not impressed with the food and even the quality of the fish was mediocre. It was....meh! I've had way better. But then, I was talking to a friend that loves Kings Fish House and he said I ordered all the wrong things and I must order what he gets. So last week I gave this place another shot. I was disappointed for the last time. I took some friends with me as well who didn't understand why the place was so packed. We ordered the fried calamari and it was way overcooked. I mean, the calamari was literally brown. Each of us ordered a different fish dish (so we can try each other's food) and each dish was just bland, bland, BLAND. No flavor. To top off our experience, we all ordered baked potato with our food. All us, but one person got their baked potato. Our server said "We ran out of baked potato today, would you please pick something else?". I was shocked. No apology, no nothing. It was a horrible experience. I called two of my friends afterwards to tell them about my experience and they both said "You know, the last time I was there, it wasn't as good". So, maybe there was a change in management or staff. Either way, I shall never come here again. Seriously people, drive a bit further to "The Catch" or even "Roy's Hawaiian Fusion". You won't be disappointed at these two restaurants.

This place never disappoints! Sat at the bar this time, and it was a nice change of pace. We enjoyed drinks and appetizers before going out for the night. Calamari, yellowtail sushi, grilled artichoke, oyster Rockefeller, and oyster shooters...yummy!!! And I can't forget to mention the bread...warm sourdough loaf, delish :) I love that even though I've been going here for years I still can find something new to try. Bartender was very sweet...all the girls that have helped us are very nice :) Now that baseball season is here, we'll be back soon.

I thought I was screwed when I heard we were meeting my old boss for lunch at King Fish (I don't eat seafood). I ordered the blackened chicken salad and it was great. The apps were good too and the service was perfect. We sat on the bar side which is much less formal. Give it a try.

I've visited this place a handful of times and I have only great things to say about the food. The sushi is pretty satisfying. My favorite is definitely the crab cakes, I ordered as the appetizer and as the meal itself. It comes with your choice of two sides, the tartar sauce is such a great pairing with it. Not all places make it well enough to go well with the crab cakes. This place does! I have also had the desserts, the fruit crisp. It's that great combination of cold ice cream and the warmth of the crisp with fruit. Ok, now for my 2-star rating. The only reason I didn't give this place more kudos was due to the service. Each time I went I excused it as "it was busy" or "we were sitting outside" but it has happened time and time again. You seat yourself and my first visit I sat outside, no one noticed till about 10min. A waiter and a busboy passed by and no one came over? Last night we sat down, about 5min later the waitress came over and saw the plates of shucked oysters everywhere and took two plates, minutes passed, my husband even had time for a bathroom break and still no one came by to clear up the rest of the table. The service is so slow in clearing up, but very quick in bringing the bill.

Honestly, I've never had a bad meal here. And I do come quite often. I don't like how busy it gets, but most of the time the wait isn't that long or you can find room in the bar area. Kinda pricey? Yes. For sure. But the food is great. I wouldn't call it spectacular by any means, but its one of those places where I know I can count on. I think the things that keep me coming back are: crab cakes and steamed clams, oyster shooters, sea bass when it's in season, and the charbroiled scallops. Don't ever get the ratatouille, get the mashed potatoes or mac and cheese instead. They charge $15 corkage if you want to bring your own wine, although their wines aren't that expensive. But since the food is kinda pricey, might as well save money where you can. Service is top notch, and the staff is always delightful. Did I mention their crab cakes? Try it with their spicy horseradish cocktail sauce.

The fish was OK but the portion was small and the price was $4 or even $6 high for what you got. No wonder there were few people here on Sunday afternoon. It's a recession. If they would make the portions larger which wouldn't cost them much, they buy wholesale after all, this would be a good place. As it is they missed the mark. Too much money for too little fish. At these prices they could be more generous. The food was OK but I won't be rushing back.

I personally have had better and think this place is overrated. Came here today on Father's Day with a party of 14. The customer service was good (so I would give that 5 stars) being that the restaurant was a bit crowded and our waiters were extremely attentive but the food was just OK. I will give them brownie points for the complementary mixed seafood appetizers and my berries and cream dessert but other than that I will stick to other restaurants for some authentic seafood.

This seafood restaurant belongs in Newport not Anaheim. Once in side you would never suspect that you are not close to the ocean. The menu consists of a very large selection of fresh fish and they have a good assortment of sushi, which I definitely dig. I had the Mako Shark the last time I dined there...yes I frequent the place...and it was the best fish steak I have had thus far, from any restaurant. The portions are not overwhelming and is just right when paired with one of their signature beers...on draft of course. The bar side of the restaurant is also a good place to go for before or after drinks if you are attending an event in Anaheim (The Pond, Edison Feild, K1 Go kart Racing). The happy hour is also a bonus...good prices and good beer. Definitely worth a try.

The farm raised Rainbow Trout was grilled to perfection. Great selection of fresh fish, bivalves and crustaceans. Lots of sides to choose from. The macaroni and cheese side was delicious, great texture and flavor. The garlic mash potatoes were too smooth for my taste and had too much cream/butter in it. Ambiance was okay with an obvious "chain restaurant" feel. The Albacore Tataki sushi was remarkably good (not being an exclusive sushi restaurant). Good service. Why not higher marks? ... (1) Overpriced for the portions given. (2) Somewhat noisy inside. (3) Poor parking situation.

Another office favorite! My old work place use to like to come here every so often. Great food! The oysters are bomb diggity!! Slimy and tasty! This is one of few places that knows exactly how to cook their calamari! Oh and the bread that everyone has been talking about....Wow!...lemme say it again...wow! uh huh!! yeah you gotta try it!!

Originally we were planning on eating at Felix's but I saw King Fish along the way and decided to eat there instead. BIG mistake. I was wowed by the nice selection of food on the menu and the amount the wine and drinks they served. However, I was deeply disappointed by the terrible service. Since I am accustomed to the lack of service at Asian restaurants in sgv, I have a fairly high tolerance when it comes to flagging down servers. And despite that, I was still very unsatisfied by the service at King Fish House. I will never go back.

Went here last night to celebrate a friends birthday. Although it was a week night, I made reservations just in case and I'm glad I did because we were seated right away and didn't have to wait at all. We ordered oyster shooters - miyagi style and they were delicious. Also ordered fried calamari as an appetizer and kumamoto oysters, the oysters were my favorites of the night, and will definitely be ordering more than a half dozen next time. We had the scallops as an entree and they give you 12 because they're tiny itty bitty scallops but they were good. We had garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach as sides and both were yummy. Since it was her birthday, we got a free creme brulee dessert.

I recently went to Kings Fish House for lunch with friends. I had never been but my friends rave about the place. I was quickly won over by the great food and service, our waiter was Brian and he was very polite, funny, and answered all of our questions easily. He recommended a swordfish dish with orzo that was amazing! Overall we really had a good experience, give them a try!

Starter: Oyster sampler (6). This was really good. It came with a side of freshly grated horseradish, some cocktail sauce and something else that tasted like a garlic vinegar. The oysters were fresh and briny. Jumbo Sea Scallops = Sadness. Not so much on the "jumbo" end and they were overcooked rendering them slightly rubbery. And there was no good sear on them. The mac n' cheese side dish was okay. Better than the box stuff but I've had better. The roasted ratatouille was okay as well. It was a nice change than the usual steamed veggies side most places serve. However, the N'awlins BBQ shrimp entree my husband got was yummy. A little bit of a kick, lots of flavor, I wish I had gotten this instead. Did get a hurricane off their cocktail menu. Strong and yummy and not very expensive. Service was good. The hostess must have been new cuz she never asked if we had a preference for indoor or outdoor and the patio was wide open. Our waiter was friendly and nice and non-obtrusive though it took him a while to get to taking our order. Their buzzer thingy is shaped like a lobster. Heh.

I enjoyed the salmon (very generous portion- probably good for three people!), spinach and mac n cheese. I was a little surprised how good everything was since I had seen another one of these restaurants elsewhere. I guess I'm a bit snobby about chains. But the waitress was quite charming when she took us on a menu "tour." I could really taste the real cheese flavor in the mac and cheese and the bread crumbs were appropriately crunchy- a good contrast to the soft noodles. My friend's tuna salad sandwich was enormous! And I thought the sprouts were a great touch. This was one of the better meals I had while stuck in the Anaheim area. We totally found it randomly driving away from our crappy hotel.

We have tried Kings at several of their locations. My lovely wife, being the fried food junkie that she is has ordered the fried oysters and the fried Calamari plates. Both very exceptional and freshly prepared. Portions were very generous. I tried the fresh Ahi which was requested blackened. Fish dish left a lot to be desired as it was very bland with hardly any cajun seasoning to be found on the fish. It was very fresh tasting so that was a plus. We will go back but only when we are craving fried seafood. The Sourdough bread served with all meals was excellent and so was the service.

Went here on my sisters birthday. My expectations were high, especially when I noticed king salmon on the menu. Though upon tasting it, I wasn't all that impressed. The mashed potatoes were pretty good I suppose since they were nicely buttered. The vegetables were just vegetables. Service was reasonably quick as it was not that busy from what I remember. Maybe there'll be another chance maybe not.

My dad is obsessed with this place. He doesnt live nearby so when he comes for a visit he always begs to go to Kings. I always thought it was a cliche seafood chain, but it's surprisingly good. It is a chain and all the locations look pretty similar, which i think is a negative, but the food makes up for what it lacks in original decor. I've had the salmon, the crab cakes, and the cesear salad. all are quite good. their seafood always tastes fresh. And they have a nice patio outside to sit at. I like it there because it's choice for people watching. So bring your dad here, split a lobster, and watch some people before walking down to see a movie at the edwards theatre. perfect for father/daughter or son bonding.

Interesting mix of a menu at this place, as they have seafood items, regular entrees and even SUSHI! That's what got my attention. I had a celebration party at this restaurant and chose it at random and it was a pretty good choice. It's a great place to hold a large dinner party. The entrees were pretty fresh and delicious. I loved the SUSHI there - not bad for an American joint.

Hit KFH today for lunch - i haven't been here in about a year. Back when i lived in Orange and worked across the street from Angel's Stadium, i used to hit KFH once/week - i loved this place ! How's it doin' now ? Still doing it right ! Low carbin' for the month so sad dabs ( comfirmed the parmesan coating is very light w/ flour ) a side salad and some spinach. The Dabs - good, not great - a little too much parmesan crusting, but good flavor. The salad - whatever ( forgot to say no croutons - plucked them out ) the spinach was very good - simple - oil, copped garlic and a hint of lemon. not sure what it costs since i was free-loading a meal off the "suits" if you want seafood, in the orange/anaheim area - this is the go to .

Not bad, a pit pricey though. I had the fish tacos, there were pretty good. Didn't try anything else, but there drink menu seemed interesting. I will have to go back and try the drinks, i saw a Key lime martini...wonder what that tastes like

Me and my buddies were supposed to go to LA Convention Center for the LA Auto Show, but it was already late in the afternoon and were still in Orange, so we decided to just hang around the area, then had dinner at King's Fish House, in Katella Avenue. The restaurant was full and the waiting period took about 15-minutes before we got seated. We promptly ordered calamari and chicken wings for appetizer. For my own main course, I had grilled broadbill swordfish, with side order of garlic mashed potatoes and sweet corn. My friend had catfish, while the other friend also had fish of another kind, mainly because it's a fish restaurant after all. The service was good and Jorge, the waiter, was very accommodating and always ready to refill our drinks and later with the coffee. The food was good and the service was excellent, so I would certainly come back here whenever I'll be around this area.

I wasn't sure I'd like King's because if it's seafood and it's not sushi, I'm not really a big fan. But it turns out, they have tons of sushi! I split the large sushi platter with a friend ($28 for 24 pieces) and got a bowl of clam chowder, which was deee-licious. The sushi tasted really fresh and the platter came with a large variety. I think it had eel, tuna, albacore, salmon, california rolls, spicy tuna rolls, and tuna tataki (which is very similar to poke). I like the atmosphere of this restaurant and our waitress was so cute and friendly! My only complaint - they run out of a lot of stuff. We got there around 7 on a Wednesday night and they had run out of spinach, calamari, and ahi..the place was surprisingly busy for a weeknight so maybe that's not a normal occurrence. But other than that it was a great dining experience. I think next time I'm going to try the Coconut Shrimp or the ceviche. Oh, and I had a couple bites of the bread pudding. One word: amazing! Don't forget to save room for dessert!

We walked to Kings Fish House because our original plan to go to Lazy Dog Cafe was changed because of an hour wait time. Kings had a wait as well but we walked to the lounge area and one of the servers found a seat for us. The service was awesome and they accommodated my daughters food allergies. The food was great and we ended up having a really nice night there.

  • Shel R.

This restaurant has really gone down hill for me...at least this location...the location in Downtown Long Beach actually seems nicer. The food is really starting to remind me of TGI Fridays or Claim Jumper (typical greasy middle of the road slop.) I had the macadamia nut crusted halibut with vegetables and rice. The fish tasted heavy and greasy. The vegetables were hard yet wilty, the rice was cold and sticky and this was a $25.00 plate, definitely not deserving of it at all. No part of the meal tasted fresh and lovely...this place is all about trying to seem like a step above but really it's nothing but marketing.

I've been here many times and the fish is always fresh. I have tried many different fish and the Sea Bass is always good. Some of the pasta dishes are ok. They added the sushi bar last year and I must say it is yummy for not being a Japanese restaurant. I always get the Royal Salmon roll. It is soooo yummy. The beer is also great. A must try if you're around Honda Center.

I'm very surprised by some of the reviews here... King Fish house is one of my favorite restaurants in Orange County. I don't usually like seafood, and as such I'm probably not a capable judge of whether or not King's actually has good fish. Look at some of the other reviews for a more detailed discussion of their food.* What suprises me is that the five or so times I've been there, the service has been very, very good. The wait staff has always been attentive and knowledgable, they've worked with me to discover something I would like, and they're of course friendly and courteous without being intrusive. As I read some of these other reviews, I suppose there must be some annoying or inconsiderate servers on the staff (although, what restaurant doesn't have those?), but I've never run into them. So, don't be dissuaded, give King's a shot next time you're in the area and want seafood. * ok, so not reviewing the food at all would be a cop-out. i don't know enough about fish to break that down for you... but I will say that I've tried about six of the sides and they are ALL really good! that may seem like a minor thing, but if you've ever been let down by a meager offering of bland vegetables or stringy mashed potatoes, you'll appreciate the quality of the side dishes at Kings Fish House.

One of my favorite restaurants. The halibut crusted with macadamia nuts served with an orange butter sauce is to die for. The clam chowder is delicious too, not floury or lumpy, and full of tender clams. The bread is usually so good that it ruins me for regular store bought bread. Great service every time. My boyfriend usually gets the Alaskan king crab, which can be rather expensive, but he swears it is the best he has had in Southern California. One caveat, this is not the place to go for sushi if you ask me. They don't have a proper sushi chef, and when I ordered some, the small pats of rice under the sushi were ice cold, as if from the fridge...sorry but that is NOT how it is served. This place still gets five stars from me though.

Attempted to go a couple of Sundays ago for an early dinner. We sat at the bar, and the Bartender was SO rude even though we were ordering cocktails and oysters and planning on having dinner as well. Clearly, that didn't happen! Don't waste your money unless you like a pretentious dining experience. One star for decent oysters.

  • Mykl R.

This place is ok.... They have a really good oyster selection and also their fish selection is good too. But overall presentation is just blah. They can use a little work on the quality and presentation side, but they do have really good jambalaya, fish tacos, and a shrimp curry dish.

When I'm visiting family in Orange County, my parents always take me here. I'm not really sure why, but they like it. Since I'm not paying, I don't really notice the prices, but I'm guessing it's about $14-20 a plate here for dinner. ~food~ The food is just "ok." There are a lot of options on the menu, which is a good thing if you have kids or picky people with you. I always get the crab cakes. They give you a TON of food, and for someone of my size, I don't really need all that. I prefer quality over quantity...and I have a feeling that the quality lacks because they give you so much food. They have really great sourdough bread as a starter which I always like. ~service~ Noah is correct that the service is spotty here. I've had both great service and poor service coming here over the years. All the people that work here are pretty young and don't really know their wine/seafood that well...and if I'm paying for a nice meal, I'd like to know this stuff. The wait can also be really long if you're there on a Friday/Sat night, so be prepared. ~ambiance~ This place is great in the summer because they have lovely outdoor seating. The bar is cool - you can grab food there if the wait is too long inside the main dining area. Other than that, this place doesn't really have anything unique about it. I wouldn't want to have a romantic date here because of this. Sometimes it can get loud/noisy, especially if they seat you in a booth in the bar area. Just be forewarned!

I can honestly say this is one of the best meals I've had since moving to California. So I was visiting a friend in the OC when he's like "since you like seafood I've got a place for you." And boy did he ever. I grew up by the beach in NC and I have always loved seafood but this seafood was devine, like a gift from god or something. We started out with the crab cocktail and it was yummy. Then they brought my salad. I thought they had screwed it up because I saw no dressing on it. I almost said something but I took a bite and I was in heaven. They had somehow tossed my salad with the dressing so it looked invisible. I thought that was pretty neat. My linguine and clams was amazing as well as the red wine I had. It was a great meal. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is the service was a little off. We had to ask for my friends coffee twice and the whole service was a little slow. But the food was amazing so I'm willing to overlook it. If you are in the OC and want great seafood I highly suggest this place.

All I have to say is very good...... I went here as a celebration and was not let down....I ordered the lobster....It was this night that I found out I don't like lobster.... despite the $40 loss due to lobsters...it was a very pleasant experience. The waitress was very attentive and continually refilled my glass, considering I'll go through four of them in a meal, which is no easy task with me.....

So this is my first Yelp review, and it aint a good one so you know it had to be a bad experience to force me to sit down and write this. So my dad comes in town on his birthday with some other family. We decide to go Angels/Yankee game for his birthday since he is from NY. We decide on Kings after the game for some eats, now mind you this is a party of 6 or 7 people who have good money to spend. When we walk in, we were not greeted and just kind of stared at until someone walked by and said to seat yourself. So we did. A server comes up and takes our drink order, to which we ordered a bottle of sake and glasses for everyone. As about 10-15 mins go by, we realize that the drinks arent coming. We ask for the server. A different chick comes to the table. This chick seemed friendly until she opened her mouth. She proceeds to tell us the she feels it is in our best interest for her to not serve us any alcohol. WHAT!?! I and my family will not be told what our best interests are from a restaurant server(can hardly call waht she was doing managing). Maybe this chick was scared or something because we are naturally boisterous and jovial, but by no means was anyone belligerent or out of hand (we also had a 3 year old baby in our party). Her refusal to serve us (couple with the condescending nature of her tone) produced a good $600-$700 food only tab to walk out of the door and into a competing restaurant. We kindly walked next door, to Acapulco which was 30 mins away from closing their doors for the night mind you, and were greeted by nothing but a smiling staff. The staff served us alcohol and food. The staff was tipped out, from the cooks getting individual tips, to the bartender, to the server and to the manager who made us feel welcome in his restaurant. Never will I set foot inside King's as apparently my and my family's money is no good there. Do not go here if you are trying to have a good time, the manager will tell you its probably not in your best interest.

DOWNHILL ALERT: I have always been a big fan of King's when it comes to fish restaurants- much better than the Market Broiler, more consistent than McCormick's... but no more. The last three times we've been there have been close to inedible. If not for the bread, I think I would have gone hungry. Service has been incredibly slow, even when there are only three or four tables filled (maybe that should tell me something?) and the food has been mediocre at best. Our most recent visit involved multiple errors with what was ordered, "summer grain rice" that tasted and felt like plastic, "tempura" soft-shell crab that was just a tasteless crab that had been drowned in a thick, cloying cornmeal pancake batter, fish cooked to a dry leather, and "Northwest vegetables" that were so overcooked and burned I thought they had maybe reached under the kitchen burners and scooped out whatever they happened to find back there. At least the plasmas in the bar were working so I could catch up on sports. See ya later, King's.

If you look at my other yelps and where I have eaten there isn't much I can say about Kings. I did on the other hand only have Kings before I visited the New England area.....I have only had a few things off the menu.( I can't bring myself to pay over 20.00 for lobster) The Louie salad and crab cakes.....Salad was pretty good ( for a salad) crab cakes not the greatest. Probably won't be returning anytime soon. Sorry Kings my taste buds have experienced the gods of lobster town and no longer requires your mediocre quality seafood.

Acceptable. The fish is okay, but not great. It's trying to be more than it is, and I don't like that. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. It's expensive too. There are better options.

Been there four times and will go again. Good food, good service, casual atmosphere. Friendly staff who seem to know the menu/wine list pretty well. Be sure to ask server advise on what is fresh that day and what to stay away from (old fish). Not expensive but not a cheap date place either. Close to the Pond and Angle Stadium. Not a late hour drink place but great for a meal before the show.

I took my family to King's last night. I have some mixed reviews. I like the atmosphere. It puts me in a fish mood, however its not tacky. We were sat rather quickly, which is a sad thing, it was a Friday night. I guess people just aren't eating out as much as they used to. The waiter was nice, very energetic and took good care of us. We ordered a Blood Orange Martini, which I must say was amazing, you have to try it. For appetizer we ordered the King's Crab Cakes. All I'm gonna say about this is DON'T. 12 dollars for two little bread discs is just pathetic. There was hardly any crab, it was shredded, no lumps, it was hardly flavorful. The sauces they gave us were very uninspiring. I had the southern style soft shell crabs. This I really liked. You have to try this. Flavor was good, batter was crispy but not bready, the seven grain(wild rice) was good too. All in all the meal was a winner, with the exception of the crab cakes. This is a big step up from Red Lobster, but not as good as a place like the Blue Water Grill. This was my first visit, I'll come again, however I wont replace my fav places for this one.

Service is give and take here. Sometimes, it's spot on and attentive, and sometimes....well, they just kind of ignore you. The food itself is pretty decent, though I've gotten sick from the place on a few occasions - more my own fault, for eating raw oysters. The place also reeks of rotten fish at times, and of spilled beer and piss at others. That's not really unique to this restaurant though, so I can't totally fault them. The blackened ahi tuna is reccomended.

I have one word for this restaurant, FANTASTIC!!!!! This place has been a family favorite of ours for a long long time. Any chance that we get we go and have wonderful meal here. The staff is always nice and very helpful. Anything that you need, they are there to help you even if it is not their table they will still stop to assist. Now, this is what I call team work, love it. In regards to the food I will either get the sushi which is always nice and fresh. If I do not get the sushi I will usually get an appetizer as well as a side salad. The menu has good array of everything, basically there is something for everyone. I will say that they have something for everyone in regards to the dining experience. They not only have the nice romantic dining area they also have the bar area which you can sit in and eat as well. I have to say that is pretty cool and I love it. That is all I can say about this restaurant, I love it!

TWO WORDS: Spiny Lobster. Wow, totally way better than Maine lobster anyday!!!!! This is def a special occassion type of place but you always know you will get the HIGHEST quality of seafood from this restaurant group! Really loved the coconut shrimp and fried oysters too!

Not bad...been here a couple of times, they have an extensive menu, and I always have to stare at it for a good couple of minutes to decide what I want to eat. They have everything cooked in all kinds of ways...fish, shrimp, cioppino, crab lobster, scallops.....it's a casual place, with a lively atmosphere.. This time I ordered the shrimp and scallops skewers platter, which came with two sides. I picked mac and cheese (it's alright, not the best but it'll do.....) and garlic smashed potatoes (not bad either). We also ordered the fried calamari, that came with the aioli and cocktail sauce. Pretty tasty. For dessert, I ordered the fruit cobbler with oat topping and vanilla ice cream. I think it sounded better than it actually tasted but It was not bad either...the ice cream melted really fast which is annoying but it's unstoppable because the cobbler is warm. mmm. great with friends, hanging out...casual outing...

We have eaten at this establishment before and went back because we had a great experience. Not the case this time. When we were seated, I said to the hostess, "we will have the best server in the house, right? Her response was, "all of our servers are the best." NOT!! The service was horrific. Dave was our waiter's name. When we asked for recommendations on beer choices his response was, "I do not know what you like so what I like could be different." REALLY- suggest some favorites! We dsre not ask for good suggedtions! Then on another occasion my friend asked which fish was the lightest and his response was the are all the same size! As a waiter he should know the difference between size and consistency. He forgot one of our appetizers and used the excuse, "I thought we cancelled that." Never had the dirty dishes cleared, never once smiled, never once asked if there was anything else we needed but was quick to bring the $300 check. We do not mind spending that but with that type of bill for four people I would hope we could get a half-way decent bit of service. I really did not even feel like giving any tip but left 20% because that is whet should be left; regret that now! We eat out frequently and will not go to this restaurant again- too many other places where service is bound to be better. GREAT FOOD but unfortunately PERSONALITY-FREE & POOR SERVICE!!!

I am surprised by the not-so-great reviews on the place. Maybe I went on a really really good nite or maybe I have really low standards. Anyhow, the bartender was really friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. My friend and I ordered the Macademia Nut Crusted Halibut and the Trout Almondie. Actually they ran out of trout, so they replaced it w/ Tilipia (one of my fav fish). So, so, so, so good. The wait was long (45 min) but it was a Fri nite, right at dinner time and something was going on at the Honda center - so not so bad considering.... If the waitress was a bit friendlier, I would give it a 5 star. My friend asked for extra carmelized pecans on the side and she said it would cost an extra $2! wtf?!?

This place is decent for seafood. Not the best but still pretty good for a chain. I love the fried mexican shrimp and the service is usually pretty attentive. Great atmosphere!

I have been here several times both here and at the LB location. I love this place, when I have a severe craving for seafood I really enjoy coming here... it hits the spot. My must haves are the oysters, unlike Red Lobster they have a variety of em' (I freakin love this stuff, I can eat a whole dozen) but in order to make things fair I share with my boyfriend. I know they have an Oyster Bar but I have yet to visit it, next time, next time. Kings Spicy Seafood Chowder is something else, my bf and I had a tuff time sharing a cup (since we didn't know how it was). The Charbroiled Swordfish is to die for! This is my absolute favorite. Its served with a creamy tasty tartar sauce on the side so you can dip your bits of tender Swordfish, YUM! The Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Fresh Sauteed Spinach as your sidekicks give this entree an added heavenly taste! I have never had a bad experience at this place and am looking forward to more food adventures here.

Like the new menu changes. Asparagus and Brussel sprouts were delicious. New shrimp taquitos were awesome as well. Service always great. The menu is huge now with a lot more options. Not as many chicken options, but lots of vegetarian salads!

My first visit to Kings Fish House was in Victoria Gardens when it first opened. I was impressed then, and sometimes it's hard to fulfill expectations, however, this location was on point. My husband and I came here on a date night and were very happy with our server, Romeo. He was super nice and very knowledgeable. I told him I usually order sushi, edamame and miso soup but was in the mood for something different. He suggested their salads so I went with the crunch iceberg wedge. It was amazing, but will probably try a chopped salad next time. Hubby had the fried clams and he loved em. He said the seasoning was awesome, not sure what that was but good job guys! I try not to eat a lot of it but their sourdough bread and butter is so delicious, and even complimentary. Can't say enough about our experience and the food at this Kings Fish House. Thanks guys for a great date night!

Great food, good service, great place!! We had the swordfish and the yellow tail as well as the beet salad and a cup of spicy clam chowder ... all were perfect. The key lime pie is a very good finish to a wonderful meal. Go now! Enjoy.

Came in for an early lunch yesterday with my parents. Started off with a Rainbow Roll and Salmon Tataki Roll, which were both awesome (per usual). I was all set to order my usual, The Jambalaya, when I realized it wasn't on the menu anymore! I was devastated, but our waitress, Jackie, recommended the N'Owleans BBQ Shrimp with rice as a substitute. Although it wasn't as spicy, I was pleasantly surprised! It was a great substitute. My dad got the wild salmon on the cedar plank and my mom got the Cioppino with white sauce. Although that's not how the Cioppino is traditionally served, the kitchen listened to her request and she got just what she wanted! Our waitress was awesome: had an answer for every question we asked her and kept us laughing throughout the meal! We also got visited by another waiter, Frank, who helped us decide on drinks and gave us more bread before we even asked for it. Definitely going to be coming back soon!

I have been to Kings Fish in Long Beach many times and have never been disappointed. I have been to Kings Fish in Anaheim several times as well, and though I have never enjoyed it as much as the Long Beach location, it has always been good... Except for this visit tonight. The server was very nice and friendly, but unfortunately she missed it on the service part. One of the salads was delivered with corn, and she had been told that the person ordering it was allergic to it. All of the hot meals were served warm, and had obviously been sitting for a while before they were delivered. Little things like having to ask for water, and again after we had asked for it. Even the replacement salad took a long time to deliver, in fact everyone had finished their meal. The manager did come by, and did apologize and comped the salad on her own which was appreciated. It just was overall a disappointing meal. Would I try it again? Yes, but I better not get unlucky again!

We ate here last night Sunday and had a great seafood meal. Being from the northwest and raised on great seafood of excellent quality we always look forward to fresh oysters well we were not disappointed and had a dozen canadiN oysters they were fresh with a firmness only received from the freshest of oysters. 5 stars We had fried calamari which was perfectly cooked no greasy feeling fr too low temperature or rubberyness due to over cooking The macadamia crusted halibut was another story. Great seared effect and flavors but the meat was slightly over cooked to my liking. So I'd give that only 3 stars. But again this is done because many folks do not like really moist fish. I use to eat here years ago and definetly will again

King's Fish House in Anaheim is a great place to visit for dinner or drinks, especially before Angels or Ducks games. Came in last week for some seafood. Ended up having the swordfish as recommended by our waitress Janelle. It was great and cooked perfectly. I will definately be returning again.

As a Los Angeles kings fan this is the best place to Come before a freeway face off series game . Although it's in the heart of orange all the kings fans gather here and have a great time . Two things their happy hour is great and beer selection is on point I usually drink my favorite racer 5 IPA and get an order of the calamari . For being a chain kings fish house really lives up to their reputation of having the best quality seafood in town . Our last server staci was really great knowledgable of the beers on tap and recommended a great dish the jambalaya . Go to spot before kings ducks games .

love dining at kings every chance I get *variety of shellfish is amazing, always have a lot of choices for east and west coast oysters, lobster, shrimp, scallops, clams and mussels *like the fact they have red rock, Dungeness AND King crab on the menu *they have these new platters that offer a variety of everything on one giant platter! Great for large parties. The Captain's platter is awesome. So good! It includes every type of shelfish on their menu! I swear the ocean drops 2 inches every time they serve one of these bad boys. A great value also! *Service is outstanding. Tami is the waitress we prefer to serve us. She has a great personality and has great suggestions! My Wife loves a good New England Clam Chowder and will order it every time we go out..can't beat the King. Lastly Love the new menu idea...I'm definitely coming back to try more of their amazing food!

We recently moved to Idaho and while we love it here we do miss some of our favorite restaurants... Recently we were back to visit family in Cali and had to stop by King's while we were "Home". My wife and I stopped by for some lunch and were greeted promptly and seated right away. Staff and customer service is always great, Jenn was very polite and professional. My favorite is the Macadamia nut crusted wild halibut, I love the orange ginger butter sauce! My wife lives Salmon and decided on the Cedar plank salmon. The fish had a nice spicy/sweet dry rub on it and the salmon was moist, somwthibg a lot of restaurants seem to get wrong. She also got a bowl of the new clam chowder, I tried it as well and we both though it was very good. Normally we get a nice desert (they are all delicious) but we were both so full we decided to pass this time. Overall, Kings has great food and great service!
