Gianni’s Pizza Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

These guys really need to get their delivery and customer service process down, which is too bad as their pizza is so good. My last two experiences have been marginal. Last time I ordered for a specific time a couple hours in the future. The food arrived in 30 minutes. I explained to the driver that I didn't need it for another hour and a half. He mumbled this and that, then offered to take the food back, store it above the oven until my desired time. You can imagine the look on my face. I chose to just keep the food and deal with it. I called the store to tell them my story, the girl told me their policy is not to remake the food as the original didn't come back. She then went on to ask me if I owned an oven. You know, to heat up he two hour old food. Imagine my surprise. She offered to call the owner. I insisted she did. Manager called me back and apologized. They were going to remake the food and send it back out. Glen the owner called me personally to apologize as well. That was nice. The food was great when it arrived again at the correct time. Now as I type this, I've been waiting for 90 minutes for my dinner and had to call the store for a status. If they know they're slammed, pick up the darn phone and let your customer know. Basics. I'm hoping that when my food arrives is as delicious as it usually is. Three stars for food. Had to take off for communication and delivery faults.

I don't understand the bad reviews this place has received. The food is on par with the best of them, the staff is great, the owner Glen is a top notch fellow. The pizza is really really good but my favorite are the calzones. "The Meister" calzone in particular is just spectacular! Great beer selection too Ignore the mediocre reviews and give this place a go.

Be prepared to get the run around if you're a customer asking questions (I felt the hostility as soon as the rep gave the phone to the owner) the owner kept diverting their ordering errors to the fault of grub hub. Wait times are 45-1 hour on deliveries. Customer service from female staff and the owner is non existent pointing fingers at grub hub instead of teaching his employees to verify orders and sizes of drinks etc. I paid $23.00 with tip and got the wrong size for my drink and the items I asked to get put on my meal were not there. Taste of food was bland to say the least. I'm pulling all Gianni menus off the floor. Since the owner insisted that they were way too busy. That's an easy 200 orders gone. A month. This could've been fixed by taking ownership and addressing the issue of communication with his staff instead of blaming that grub hub never updated their site. False advertising is still just that! Honor your customers and you can keep them.

I ordered online and my delivery came very quickly, exactly as I ordered it. The service was friendly. The food was just ok and that's why I'm only giving it a 4 star. The bread for my sandwich was hard and the sandwich was just ok. Same with the pizza, I've had better. But it filled me up while I was at work, so it's ok :-) I'd order again but try something different.

Delicious gluten free pizza! We drive from Escondido for it and its worth it every time! Owner is a really nice guy too! If something isn't right, let him know and he will make sure you are taken care of!

I gave one star because I couldn't give a NEGATIVE. Just got off the phone with the OWNER of this place, and Go anywhere ELSE! I ordered pizza, it took TWO hours to get here and I had to complain to get a phone call. Then when I do, the owner wanted to argue with me about why it took TWO HOURS to get the cold pizza. After he repeatedly tried telling me that somehow I was wrong for being upset he continued to try to insult me. I laughed in this guy's face. Look at thief reviews! This place sucks for service, delivery and even their food is gross. Don't waste your money OR time! Especially if you have young children you expect to feed in a timely manner, because they do NOT care how long it takes nor do they care about providing customer service. What a nightmare. And for the record the place is 1.2 miles from my house! Explain to me how it took the driver 25 minutes to drive 1 mile! I could've walked it faster. Bogus. The owner is a joke and a moron.

I LOVE GIANNI'S!!!!!!! Master Quaranta didn't get that name for no reason. The owner Glen sets the best vibe and puts out the best quality food. He was born with a wonderful gift...a very creative mind, and it shows...in the food! Great to bring anyone to and if you come on a specialty night you'll be sure to have fun and expect delicious eats :-)

Called the due to my normal spot losing their delivery driver today, needed a good antipasto salad and a large cheese pizza pretty simple right? Unfortunately the salad had wilted lettuce in there and the dressing tasted sour. The pizza/pie was decent nice sauce and amount of cheese. But think I'll stay with my normal spot lettuce is a little fresher.

The day I walked into this place I really really wanted a calzone. My poor experience is a combination of the food and the circumstances that day. By the time I walked in that day it was 1240. I ordered a calzone (the steak one) and the lady behind the counter said it would take a little while since she was the only one there that day. I asked, so like 15 minutes? She responded in the affirmative. Well, it did not take 15 minutes. I waited and waited. Other people came and saw me waiting and they left after I told them how long I was waiting. She apologized in the end saying that this was the first time she had made this particular calzone and I empathize with her but, in the end I waited 35 minutes. I had to get back and had absolutely no time to eat. I asked her to wrap it up and I left. Trying to get a few quick bites while driving was a disaster. The calzone was burning hot and the foil was sticking to it. Taking a few bites and I soon realized that the dough was under cooked. Too doughy, definitely not bready like calzones should be. Also, the meat had no taste whatsoever, it tasted like the meat had been frozen for a while, it had that characteristic watery bland taste. The taste of this thing would have been the last saving grace for this place but I was let down there as well. In the end everything went wrong for this place for me that day. If I had been given a more accurate wait time then I might have chosen another place, or even been more accepting of the actual time it took. If the calzone was the best one I had ever had none of that would have mattered. Alas, it was not.

Horrible. We ordered a philly cheese steak, 2 slices of pizza and a side salad. The cheese steak was rubbery and bland.. inedible. The cheese fell right off the pizza slices and the dough was raw. They charged us $1 for a small side of diced red onions for the salad. we left hungry and disappointed. Never again.

Found this place in my entertainment book. Got a pizza for 50% off. I bought the medium The Kitchen Sink (Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers). $17.99 Pretty price since there was very little of toppings. Brushed on sauce. Could have used more too. The crust was tasty but I need more than good crust. I doubt I'll return; coupon or not. Carmine's pizza Oceanside is much better!

    (2)
  • Paula C.

Our fav for pizza in Oceanside/Vista area. It's always worth the wait time and we plan accordingly. As vegetarians, we especially appreciate their mostly organic, locally grown fresh toppings. They do a decent job with gluten-free crust, too, which isn't easy. Nice folks!

  • Mars V.

The pizza is lame no Grateful Dead music and why am I sitting here again? Cheese is nasty and looks fake. Seats are uncomfortable with tables not even stable. Really is not good...go next store for a burrito instead. Save the pizza eating for people who care about how food tastes

Gianni's Pizza has been my go to for over 10 years. Glen is always coming up with new creations with both the pizza and other entrees. The beer selection is always on point too with plenty of New Belgium and other craft beer on draft and in bottles. All of his produce is sourced locally through organic farms and the farmers market too!

  • Khoi N.

Super Steak Calzone is awesome! Best part, they have craft beer on tap!!! Place has a cool vibe. Will definitely be back for pizza, subs, and more calzones

We decided to give Gianni's another try last week but discovered that THEY STILL DON'T WEAR GLOVES! GROSS! My husband said when he walked in, a girl hung up the phone then continued to make our sandwiches. WTF! He asked her to put on gloves and her response was "we wash our hands." WRONG ANSWER. Dear Manager: "California Retail Food Code" restricts bare-handed contact with ready-to-eat foods." I made a few calls and you will receive a surprise visit and will be fined when your employees aren't wearing gloves. Good luck and a hopefully this will change how you run your business.

We like eating here. Eclectic and bohemian decor. We love the superfoodie salad and their pepperoni pizza . Love the table and chairs on the " veranda". Pizza's good, I'd give a 5 if they were faster ;) best pizza by the slice for the money

Pizza was a little over done but would like to try it again. The decor was a little weird, no clean tables inside, lack of busing Cold sitting outside with the fog rolling in. seems like our Pizza had been left in the oven an extra 5 minutes the crust was really crunchy and the cheese looked a little scorched. The sauce was verygood. All in all not a bad experience, just not a great one.

I am giving it a two because they were friendly and nice. I received a "welcome to the neighborhood" flyer which included a free one topping pizza. I didn't feel like pizza so I got a cal zone instead. I am not sure what that was but I do know it was horrible. First I take partial blame because I didn't check it before I left. However, by the time I got home 5 minutes later it was a soggy mess. I have never had a calzone giving to me wrapped in foil. That should have been my first clue. I got a couple of bites in and was utterly discusted. So I moved on to my salad. It wasn't bad it was just okay. Besides Tajin on salad makes everything taste better. I decided to take it back and they the calzone again. They replaced it with one call to the manager. (Although I feel that employees should feel empowered by allowing them to make judgment calls on minor issues.) The second calzone was made with spinach, ricotta, monzarella and Parmesan/ olive oil on top. It came out peferctly. This time it was put in a box instead of the foil. When I got home it was still crispy. It was a little well down on the bottom which gave it a weird taste. I just didn't like it but my dog loved it. The ambience is bit all over the place. It was just way way way toooooo busy for my taste.

I am still fairly new to California from New Jersey so it has been very difficult for me to find a good pizza place on the west coast ! (sorry all you Cali natives) Every time I have called whoever answers is always really sweet, friendly, and helpful. Glenn the owner is great! There have been a few times where Glenn has gone out of his way to deliver our food to my home and business. The food can sometimes take a while to get there, but it is ALWAYS worth it. You guys are all great and I recommend you to everyone...I've never had any complaints. :)

Went there on 2/24/15 This place needs a GOOD Cleaning. Tables dirty. Terrible seating. Servers spend most of their time on their I phones instead of cleaning tables & the floors. Pizza is ok. Would not go back. Can't understand they have an A rating.

Took ever 2 hours to deliver to my house that was 10 mins away! Pizza was cold and horrible. Will never order from this overpriced excuse for a business.

  • T. Sherrce W.

very rude...There were two young ladies behind the counter engaged in a conversation. One walked away as if she was coming to take my order, then walked away again. I waited another minute and they continued to talk. So, I just left.

  • Chelsea M.

if you wanna go somewhere where you feel like family this is the place! The owner glen is seriously awesome, and engages in conversations with you where you don't find at many places. He wants everyone to have a good time and enjoy their food which is what you get at this place! The staff is super cool as well. Their pizzas, sandwiches and even their Caesar salad is amazing. Especially there beer prices, you can't beat it. I highly suggest for people to come here, it's super low key and a great place to meet up with your friends. You won't be disappointed! Gianni's all the way!!!!

A great place to go if you're willing to go with the flow and are not in a rush. I had no idea this place existed until I moved houses and got a "welcome to the neighborhood" flyer for a free medium pizza and decided to give it a try. I called in and ordered- got put on hold for a couple minutes but when I did get to place my order the girl who helped me told me the pizza would be ready in 25 minutes. When I arrived 25 minutes later the pizza wasn't ready but she said it would be done in another 5 minutes. I wasn't in a hurry and I took the time to take a look around at all the interesting memorabilia they had. You definitely won't be bored if you have to wait for your pie to finish! The pizza probably realistically took about ten minutes longer but I think it was worth the wait. I got a pineapple and cheese pizza, but I think the crust really made it! Kind of sweet, but not AS sweet as Pappa John's... just right. Again, not the kind of place you want to go if you're in a rush. You can tell the girls that work there aren't really concerned about deadlines. But the prices are cheap and the food is good!

Well, I was in Home Depot last night and thought I would order a pizza while I shopped. The woman on the phone seemed nice until I asked how much a medium pizza costs. Then she immediately barked that they were super busy and if I could hold. I agreed and as the minutes melted away I wondered if she would ever pick the phone back up... well after fifteen minutes I was still on hold and I decided to stop by on my way home. I was shocked to see the store was empty other than two people eating. She greeted me and I told her that I was still on hold and showed her the phone. She just looked at me and said, Oh, sorry about that, we were really busy? Really, is that how it goes? So I would agree with the other comments about the inexperienced staff. I would have liked to try some new pizza but I guess I won't ever know what it's like. I wouldn't bother going back, not worth my time.

So me and my family return home from a ten day vacation, there is no food in our house and we all are wiped out. So we order a big dinner at 7:36 pm we get a confirmation email saying it would arrive by 8:20-8:30. So when 8:50 rolled around I called to see if the driver got lost ( my house 2.9 miles away) and the girl who answered the phone said she was very sorry and it would be here any minute. Ok so I wait now its 15 after 9 so I call back now this time she puts me on hold but not with a hold button because i heard her and the owner argue over who would talk to me. The girl comes back on the line, says she sorry and its almost here I just hang up, a few minutes later the owner calls me and says he sorry and ask what I want him to do. I reply with all I wanted was my dinner , he at first was nice till I mentioned yelp then his attitude changed again he said any second. At 9:20 I realize I do not want two hour old food from a car, so I call glen back and ask how long ago did my food leave and he didn't know, so I canceled my order and he very unprofessionally hung up on me!!!! This place will never get my buisness which if you knew me you would regret that!!!

Gianni's is a great spot to get a slice, try a tasty beer or even just hang out. The counter girls are always friendly and quick to serve and the owner, Glen, isn't satisfied with anything short of perfection. The atmosphere is a pleasant throwback to the 60s and 70s with vintage memorabilia lining the walls and classic tunes from the era always playing. It's a great place to stop for a bite to eat after my college classes at MiraCosta Oceanside and unwind for a bit. I definitely appreciate the attention to detail this place gives to every order that comes out of the kitchen, from the hand stretched dough to the hand grated cheese, this place does it right. Don't forget to check out their occasional movie night (you can get on their email list by signing up in person). They always make a themed pizza and show a double header on a projection screen. The place fills up pretty quick so get there early to grab a good seat for the show! This place earns its 5 stars and more!

  • Enrico G.

The pizza here is actually decent. I am a fan of their Mac-n-cheese pizza. Plus as a film lover I adore the decor - vintage/indie movie posters adorn the walls. But if you order online they tend to drop the ball. The staff is too laid back. No matter how cool you are a business is still a business. I ordered on GrubHub and somehow they lost track of the orders. I have eaten here twice and most likely will not eat here again for a long, long time. Its a shame. They need to refine their operations. The food is good but not good enough for me to put up with crappy service. Who wants to wait over an hour for a pizza?

    (2)
  • Dalin H.

Love this place I have been coming here for a good year or so. The slices are very reasonably sized for the price and the toppings are always fresh. Love the locally grown fresh organic veggies! Glen is way cool and the beers are always cold. Thanks Glen!

Little Ceasars pizza is better. 1. Bread was hard and thin. 2. Not cheesy. 3. Very salty 4. Had some weird stuff on the bottom of the bread that felt like little rocks. 5. Grease 6. Expensive for very low quality. WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN + ALL MY FAMILY DIDN'T LIKE IT EITHER

  • Dawn P.

Unique Atmosphere. Felt like I was walking into a bohemian surfer restaurant. Pretty interesting decor which definitely caught the eye. Food was okay- Nothing too specail but good for a slice at lunch time. I'd definitely say it's worth trying out at least once.

  • Jared M.

Stopped by this place after school the other day. I walked in excited to try "Gianni's" out and was very dissapointed. The guy working there was way too laid back and was too busy stocking up drinks to even ask me what i wanted. After about 3 minutes I finally ordered (I was the only person in the stoor). I thought it was pretty shitty customer service to focus more on stocking drinks then the customer who is obviously there to order food. I got the two pizza and drink combo and it took 15 minutes to come out. The pizza was literally not even cooked. The dough was falling apart because it was so soft. I'm not sure how you could screw pizza up this bad, but they sure did. Definetely won't be returning.

I had been to Gianni's Pizza a few times and, the review is simply the Truth: Dirty Interior of Business- just look at the windows when you 1st walk up to the door! Then, check out the DECOR? WOW! Simply deplorable! And, the uncleanliness goes on as you walk thru the place. Also, I have watched the Employees, and the owner GLENN handle food after he (or employees) handle the Money- without washing their hands or using gloves! Lastly, I had a hair in my pizza and that was the end of going their. 3 separate occasions and just not worth my time and money. I suppose the Pizza has an OK Flavor that is why I give 1 star. Never tried anything but the Pizza on each of the 3 visits. By the way, I know of someone else whom stated they had HAIR IN THEIR PIZZA ALSO! And, no joke, on one of the occasions, the Oceanside Code Enforcement Officer was all up in GLENN's ASS (RAISED HIS VOICE FOR HIM TO GET HIS ACT TOGETHER).

First off, we've ordered from them before and it was a decent pizza. This time however, the person taking our order didn't know the menu and questioned my order and quoted a 45 minute delivery time. An hour and 15 minutes later our food shows up and the dough on both the calzone and pizza is still COLD AND RAW. Also, a pizza that was described as having meatballs, freshly topped basil, tomatoes, garlic, and Parmesan had none of the above, only ground beef oregano, pizza sauce and raw dough. Needless to say, never ordering from here again.

The pizza was okay but the tba was warm and soggy. Not to mention the delivery took am extra 35 minutes to arrive

Meat Mongers Pizza, fresh antipasto salad, and good beers...yummers. The BEST (consistently) pizza I have had in years. Fresh ingredients, sauce and awesome pizza crust. The store needs some improvements to the entrance door and to the seating (please), updated table tops.....they are cracked and not very hygienic but it is a cool place with groovy 70's rock music and nice looking young ladies working their. THIS IS A MUST DO PLACE!!!!!

By now, in America, it's common place for various pizzerias to create their own spin on the classic pie. Unfortunately for Gianni's, they need to go back to the drawing board. I was on the hunt for a two slice/drink special and remembered this place existed. I'd never tried it, but how hard can it be to screw up pizza? Apparently, it's not hard at all. My slices were over cooked, which is one thing, and the crust had as much flavor and the consistency of cardboard. I've had better Boboli pizzas as a kid than this. Just bland, boring and brutal to eat. The drink size is pitiful. 20 oz, at least, is all I ask for. The decor, on the other hand, warms the cold core of my heart. I love San Francisco and Gianni's is, top to bottom, something pulled straight from Haight Street. Hippie. Central. I want to hate this place, but instead I only pity it. I won't go back for food, perhaps their $12 pitcher of Fat Tire can lure me in. We'll see.

Wow! Blown away! I consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to italian subs. My favorite for a long time being from Mona Lisa deli in Little Italy. However after today's experience at Gianni's pizza I have to say it's probably the best I've ever had! Great fresh bread with locally grown tomatoes fresh crisp lettuce. That's the best thing I can say is everything very fresh and nonfrozen. The owners a great guy who really cares about the product and made us feel welcome and comfortable. Plus we found out he's a local underground filmmaker and bought his latest venture called "perfect diamond" can't wait to see it when we get home. It's great that we found a spot nearby are home that has such history character and quality. Very rare these days. Thank you Gianni's!!!

I think I died and went to pizza heaven. Originally from Rhode Island, the Italian capitol of the United States, Gianni's Pizza brings me right back home. I asked for a specialty pizza and they were more than happy to accommodate my request. The crust was thin and crisp and the toppings were farm fresh. I would recommend Gianni's if your in the Oceanside area. Best pizza I've had in Southern California and I know pizza!!!

  • FloydPam R.

I've been to Gianni's twice, and to be fair, have only had the Caesar salad and the Antipasto salad, so I can't review the pizza. I have to say that the biggest turnoff was that the staff does not wear gloves when preparing the food. C'mon people, this is how foodborne illness is transmitted! Gloves should be worn at all times when handling food, especially salad! When I ordered my salad today, thankfully the person that made it washed her hands first. However, she was walking back and forth between the front and the kitchen, touching God knows what along the way. When another customer inquired about the lack of glove use, she was informed that gloves were available and would be worn at the request of the customer. She was reassured that they wash their hands frequently and that there are three sinks in the restaurant. Hmmm...the girl that prepared my salad last week didn't wash her hands before she made my salad, and during the course of preparation, she answered the phone, walked to the back, got my warmed chicken from the microwave, then scooped it out with her bare hands, before placing it on top of the greens. Without washing her hands after she had touched the phone and whatever else in the back! The ambiance of the restaurant is great; it's quirky and unique, but the staff really need to be educated on sanitary practices when it comes to handling food.

It had been many years since I had been here. I remembered it as a great local place for sandwiches and pizza. Went there for lunch today and I COULDN'T have been more disappointed!! We got 2 different hoagie sandwiches and both were terrible. First they didn't have everything on them that the menu said. And second there was barely anything on them. Not even lettuce. I will never go back. Very unhappy!!!

I love this pizza place! The pizza reminds me of the east coast where I'm from in Pittsburgh pa. I love the specials! You get a great deal for $5 or $6. I would eat here everyday if pizza didn't raise my cholesterol. The people who work here are very kind as well and are fast servers. If you are starving this place is the place for you.

What can you say about a joint that has only managed to garner 5 star reviews from people that have been bribed with a free shot of booze who are standing next to a laptop while watching a movie that the proprietor has failed to pay the proper licensing fees to have a public movie night in the first place? Well not much other than an audacious run-on sentence. And 'Not Much' is a standard that Gianni's Pizza can truly live by. Soggy slices, burnt food, wilted salads is all that this proprietor has to offer, but perhaps that is unfair. You can also sit in a rickety chair and admire the third rate decorating job. It has all the ambiance of an unruly, unkempt and uneducated teenager's bedroom. Slow service, warm beer and sub par cuisine. Avoid this place like the plague.

Five stars for being able to order at 9:45 pm on Saturday night, they got the order right, and delivered within 45 minutes. Good prices, the pizza was good, so I'm very happy and will call again. We split a small pizza and two side salads, perfect!

Dropping my rating from the original 5 star to a 2 star. This place used to be my go-to place for a great pizza but seems to have gone downhill. 3 of the last 4 times we ordered, it was wrong. Cheese has become sparse and the crust thinner. What used to be great is now an average pizza which i can get from anywhere and much cheaper. Seems like the staff don't give two shits anymore, maybe that's why the pizza has become lame, just matching their attitude. You might have different results but with such poor consistency, why roll the dice? Just get Little Caesar's for $5 and it will be average every time. Last time I will be disappointed here as I'm not ordering again. Over it :(

  • Tom S.

A very local pizza place with very average food. Attention to details in terms of the cleanliness of the establishment is very poor as if the place got cleaned once a week (I'm sure I'm wrong in this, but why do I have to think that in the first place?). Messed-up orders, long waiting time, and the average food quality calls for more professionalism in everything they do. The cool aesthetics of the place is great, but not enough to make you come back.

I'm not a Chicago-style pizza fan, so I can't say too much about the pizza here. But I only have good things to say about the place so far. I stumbled in here one night, trying to find a slice of pizza for my daughter. They don't serve pizza by the slice but they were happy to make a fresh, personal-size cheese pizza for her with just a 10-minute wait. The thing I LOVED about this place is the vibe. As a girl who grew up in Ft. Collins, CO, this place immediately felt like HOME. Grateful Dead and other fun hippie-ish posters, and New Belgium memorabilia EVERYWHERE. I have never seen so much New Belgium stuff in one place (including some exclusive brews on tap), and I grew up in their hometown. I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner! The cheese pizza we got wasn't amazing (like I said, I don't go for Chicago-style), but it wasn't half bad, either. I was really interested in their Freaky Pizza menu and I totally want to go back and try the Naked Hippie. I will definitely be back to this place anytime I start feeling homesick for Colorado!

Best. Pizza. Ever. Enough said. I wish I could teleport this place to Los Angeles. Gianni's is a must every time we are in Oceanside. All natural ingredients and creatively unique combos. This place is super hippie and the people who work here are just super. Love it!

Ordered a slice and salad lunch special. 25 mins later I went to the counter to ask about my order. The girl wraps up my slice and asks if I'd like my salad to go (which was not even made yet). I told her I didn't have time to eat the salad as my lunch time was pretty much over. She asked if I was sure "it only takes 30 seconds". If it only takes 30 seconds, why did I just wait 25 mins?!? Don't bother with this place. Poor service and average pizza.

I went in to get a couple of slices. Well I waited almost twenty minutes and there was only one person doing everything., answering phones, cooking and etc. Then I get told the slices I order were stuck to the pan. Well no slices I left and very disappointed.

I come here specifically for the Philly hoagie. Pros: 1. I never had the pizza here, but the hoagie and its ingredients are fresh as hell. Very unique in their take of a classic. 2. The vibe is pretty cool - this place belongs oceanfront, but it's tucked away. Very friendly staff. 3. Fat tire on tap. Nice. Good selection of beers otherwise. Cons: 1. Could be a little cleaner. I usually wipe doen the tables before we eat. 2. Furniture is not the most comfortable as I've sat in more comfortable pew/booths in church. 3. Slightly pricey. Hoagies, chips and a beer for two will put you over the $30 point nearing $40 which is a little for a glorified sandwich. Overall a good little hole in the wall. May someday try different items but stick with what works for now.

Wow, for a horrible delivery to home experience get Gianni's Pizza. I ordered for delivery, and after 1 and half hours of patiently waiting NOTHING! I called the restaurant and they said they would call me back to update on status, they DID NOT! I had to call back 30 minutes later, for the manager to falsely state they had already delivered my order. I was beyond myself, since they did not deliver to me. I explained to him that I was a regular customer and that I did not have my order, and he kept on going about how his driver already delivered, I even confirmed the address one more time, thinking it might have been my fault in giving them an incorrect address, but no, they had the correct address which they were claiming had already received the order! No consideration for a regular customer is a business NO-NO. Anyways, he said he would call me back with an update but that he was busy... he never called me back! I will never order from this place for pick-up or delivery, or eat at this restaurant ever again!

Sometimes convenience just doesn't work in your favor. Coming out of the Home Depot parking lot that this place shares, I decided to give this place a try. Getting a order to go, I ordered a calzone, which should be a no-brainer. Maybe it was an off night for the cook, but the calzone was burned and lacking all of the ingredients that were described on the menu. The staff also seem to be pushing beer, not food. Lots of chit-chatting in the kitchen, not very concerned with the customers. Should have backed out the door when I saw how dirty the place was. So, if you like a dry and burned calzone, this is the place. Next time I will take 2 rice cakes, burn the bottoms on the stove, and pour tomato sauce all over them, because it has to better quality than what was pushed out the door here. I also ordered a hot pasta dish and it was so-so; total bill $27.00, not exactly cheap for glorified Pizza Hut food. Cannot say that I would return, because there are better choices in Oceanside.

Goddamn this is some good effing pizza. We won't go back to chain pizza as long as Gianni's is in business. They show cult movie classics most Mondays with coordinating pizza specials, and the restaurant decor is an awesome throwback to San Francisco in the 1960s; two things that give this place some personality that sets it apart from other independent pizza places. Good beer too. Seriously, we won't go anywhere else.

I am terribly disappointed. I used to come here when I was a kid and enjoyed it very much. The pizza was great. I remembered how much I enjoyed it so I ordered a pizza last night and it was not how I remem want ber it. I ordered a think crust pizza and it was thin as paper. I couldn't believe how thin it was. I paid 2 dollars extra for thick crust and 2 dollars for an extra topping which they got wrong. I called up the owner and he didn't to let me talk. Customers are always right but not in this case in his eyes. I know I'm not the first person who will never go back there. Horrible just absolutely horrible.

The one star is not for the pizza. The single solitary star is for mariahs terrible customer service skills and the lack of ingenuity from the delivery drivers to look at a menu or call the customer aheah of time. On each occasion I have ordered for delivery and they have managed to screw it up. The girl that answered the phone was very rude and short tempered. She hung up on me while I was attempting to explain the directions and my conception that my order was placed an hour ago. I then went personally to the place where it took another hour to complete.

First things first....I didn't want to do it above, but I will gladly give Glen, the man who introduced himself as the owner, 5 stars +++ for his friendly attitude and great customer service. No matter how lame the food or the business is, if someone gives me great CS, I will happily overlook any of the other not-so-good points but in this case it wasn't possible. We wanted to get pizza to take to the "pregnant girl" (my daughter who was having a craving) so because we'd rather give our biz to a regular guy as opposed to a big company (Dominoes, Cesar's etc) we stopped at Gianni's. We were greeted by a very nice man at the counter in a small restaurant which my husband, who grew up in the 60's called a flashback, "hippie" time capsule. Someone really loves the Grateful Dead because the place was a shrine to Jerry Garcia, they even had the brightly colored, dancing bears painted on the wall. There were random pieces of hand painted furniture about the place and plenty of advertising for all kind of funky beers. There were several specials posted on the chalkboard, sandwiches and drinks, whose prices looked pretty reasonable. But we were there to order pizza so we ordered the largest pizza with the works....sausage, mushroom, onions, pepperoni and green peps ($18.) No one likes green peps so we asked to leave them off and Glen asked if we wanted anything instead, so we asked for double mushrooms. When we got to the house, no extra mushrooms and we had to pick out the green peps that we asked to be left off. We also ordered the 20 piece chicken wing for $11. No celery or blue cheese dressing included but when we asked for some blue ch, he happily gave us two little containers. So here's the deal...my family grew up in the restaurant biz...first with a breakfast restaurant and then when I was in high school, with a pizza restaurant. We know and expect good customer service because that's how we were taught and we know and expect that when we pay for food that looks and sounds like it should be organic, fresh and tasty, it should be so. The pizza crust was NOT homemade...not hand stretched like the way the guys do it up the street, not chewy and yummy but cracker tasting with the tell tale pin prick holes on the bottom that to me indicates a pre- made crust. The edges were crackly and peeling and very pale. I know fresh, handmade dough and baby, this wasn't it. The sauce was bland and very plain and the fixings were skimpy and the cheese??? Even skimpier...the crust itself was very thin and pretty lame. The chicken wings were a major disappointment. My daughter is the chicken wing queen and has eaten them everywhere and in every way, shape or form. As she was eating them, she looked at me and said that they tasted soggy and soft....hmm...I took a bite and turns out they weren't fried (which is really how they should be prepared)...just nuked I think. They tasted like what you get at Costco in the freezer section or from a food service company. Yeah, all those shortcuts make for a quick turnaround for the waiting customer but I for one would rather wait for some crazy good food than not. So here's the thing Glen....You have a bitchen little spot and you've been there so long, it's a shame the pizza's aren't off the hook. They are at best something you could buy a big chain and nothing more. I hope the sandwiches and salads are better, they all had great descriptions but the place was deserted when we got there so I don't know what they looked like. Strangely enough, almost one whole wall is lined with several big drink fridges...just like at 7-11...how about less soda and beer and more homemade, fresh, truly killer pizza? I wish you much good luck Glen, you've been there a long time but it seems more like a stoner hangout than anything else. A HUGE PS...there is no bathroom for the customers so for me that makes it a very unfriendly place for families. Apparently none of the restaurants in that shopping center have one so you have to walk over to Home Depot to use theirs...by the way, enter at the first EXIT door, hang a right and then the only left, bathrooms are at the end of the hall.

I came in here around 6pm tonight. The place was not busy just a few people eating. I stood at the counter and waited for someone to take my order. An employee looked at me and slowly made her way to the front. She said "you gonna order". I said "yes". She replied with "cool", and walked away. I waited for about 5 minutes to see if she would reappear from the kitchen. No such luck. I have dealt with bad customer service before, but this occurrence actually had me dumbfound. Didn't get to try the pizza, but the Chinese place next door has descent plates.

New to the area, I had a craving for pizza but didn't want the typical chain pizza. I looked up pizza places close to me via my GPS and found that Gianni's had some pretty decent reviews. Since it was the closest place, they support local farmers, and use as many organic ingredients as possible AND have gluten free options. I was sold. I must say, I was pretty impressed. The atmosphere of the place was very cool (lots of neat memorabilia on the wall, very "hippy" and kitschy). I was a little surprised at how my order was packaged (mini pizza on a plate covered in foil and bread sticks also wrapped in foil) but that is really my only complaint. The pizza, while not the best I've ever had (check out a place called Buccaneer Pizza in Orange for an out of this world hole in the wall pizza amazingness) but I can definitely say I *will* eat at Gianni's again. It was cheap (I got a mini pizza, a brownie, water, soda, and bread sticks for $12), delicious, obviously homemade with good ingredients, they didn't skimp on the toppings, and the flavors were really tasty. I'm a fan. ^_^

After leaving the doctors office I could smell pizza across the parking lot. So I decided to go in with my son. I ask for the lunch special did not get because the owner tried to upscale me on a larger one. Than I decided to order the lunch special $5 two slices of pizza and a drink. He charged me $6.50. Overcharged me. The place is loaded with propaganda and is dirty. Priced to high. Will not go back.

Having been a huge fan of Glenn and his pizza for many years, it hurts to write this review. Our last three pizzas have been really disappointing. Ordered one in January late one night and they never showed up to deliver! Next one was cardboard tasting and NOT an extra large. The last one I ordered I was told there were five orders and deliveries ahead of me. It took a long time to show up and the pizza was cold, limp and had migrated all over the box, and tasted like cardboard. I alway's have tipped the drivers VERY well, maybe thats why Glenn has been delivering mine. Sorry Glenn, but I gotta back away! Keith

The pizzas may not be the best in the world but the owner is super chill and everyone who works here is super nice. They also sell an array of Belgian brews and always have Fat Tire on tap. And it's so mellow with the Old school blues and jazz playing.

My entire family absolutely LOVES GIANNI'S Pizza. It has been a staple in my family traditions. We have had the pleasure of dinning there for several years. We love the diverse menu, we please even the pickest of eaters - every time. Along with the great mouth watering menu they have some of the best Drafts. We enjoy the hip funky tunes the staff is alway jamming to. It's a refreshing mix to the normal pizza place. The friendly staff is always helpful and the delivery is great also! I highly recommend the Joey Jr. Sandwich or the Jerry's Best Pizza! Stuffed stix are the perfect on the go lunch. Thank you for always keeping consistent with your orders and super service!!! See you again soon.

The pizza here is amazing! They also sell their dough so you can make your own pizza at home too. They always have a few Fat Tire beers on tap too. Service can be a little slow, so we usually call in our order ahead of time.

Ordered for delivery, it took over 2 hours and the 3 large pizza's were very small for large. They tasted like a frozen pizza from a discount market. When the delivery driver showed up, it was a teenage girl with her pierced and tattooed "BFF" riding along for company Can you say "tweakers?" NEVER again.

This is the second time I've ordered from Gianni's Pizza and it'll be the last. When I called this time (to order a calzone), the girl who answered the phone made it a point to immediately tell me: "Just so you know, we close in 17 minutes" Oh really? In other words you are telling me if you can't make it and I can't pick it up in 17 minutes you don't want to take my order? Why don't you try closing at 8:30 instead? Oddly enough, the same comment was made the last time I ordered with 25 minutes to go. In any event, she said it would be done in five minutes. Five minutes huh? This I gotta see. I showed up in 10 and it was ready. Cool I thought! Not so fast. The calzone wasn't nearly cooked long enough; gooey bread and cold in the middle. Obviously they were inconvenienced by the timing of my order and rushed through it. Ratings as follows on a scale of 0-4 with 0=Horrific and 4=Excellent Current order - Calzone Food quality; 0 Service: 0 Price: 0 (I wouldn't eat this crap if you paid me) Previous order - Pizza: Food quality: 2 Service: 0 Price: 2 (slightly overpriced for average food) Summary: The pizza from my previous order was just average, no better than the big chains. There's no excuse for the 1/2 baked Calzone. Service on both occasions just sucked. If you are looking for some quality food that's a notch or two above the major chains, AVOID this place. If you are looking for stomach filler served with a shitty attitude, by all means.

The only reason that they're getting a survivable amount of patrons is solely based on their location(next to Home Depot). If H.D. ever left , Gianni's would wither away in a month tops. Their food, service and overall quality is average at best, with a slight lean towards subpar.

The pizza is good. Not the best in San Diego, but it's good. It's better then any of the chains, but obviously it costs a little more. I've eaten here a handful of times, and I've never been disappointed. I do prefer Filippi's or Lefty's or Blackstone, but Gianni's is good and if you're in the area I'd say give it a try. Plus, the hippie theme is kind of cool in it's own way.

The theme of Gianni's Pizza is interesting because the theme feels between the 70 & 80's. The have four different sizes of pizza which is good because the small size will work for one or two people, while the bigger size will work for a group of four. The time to get a pizza is the average time like other places.

I love this place. Hippy-tastic with good music, good food, and good people. Prices are reasonable and the place is a rad little hang out spot. Also the owner, Glen, is very friendly and adds to the charm of this fantasic pizza place.

I didn't know about Gianni's until I ordered through a "room service" service at the local Hyatt House hotel. Long story short: because of a hearing or writing deficiency of the too-happy girl at the other end of the phone we had to wait 2.5 hours for a starter and two salads. This effects the Hyatt name and the quality level of the service we ordered through. Food was wilted and cold because the (stoned?) girl at the other end of the line couldn't write down my credit card number and expiration date correctly. Instead of delivering the food and resolve credit card issues later with the company that serves as an intermediate, this restaurant willingly opts to let food go cold and not deliver it. I am so looking forward to the telephone call with the intermediate service and Hyatt about this extremely poor level of service. Too bad one cannot assign minus values at Yelp.

I read some review right here on Yelp and decided to give it a go. Not super impressed with the decor as others seemed to have raved about. But honestly, I took the pizza to go and it was pretty much what I would have expected from a local pizza joint. I did not go because of the decor or even the beer. I went for pizza. As far as that goes, it was pretty decent and I took it down quickly. The young lady suggested cheesy bread as well. That seemed to be nothing more than a long hoagie style roll that is sliced in half, stuffed with some cheese and baked for a few minutes. I was not impressed by it. But again, I went for pizza and it was good. I would make a return trip there anytime....but only to take it to go.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
