Love this place! The best Thai food in the valley hands down.I suggest the orange chicken and beef pad see ew. I'm not from this area so whenever I'm in the valley I make sure to stop by.

Nice Thai Foods. I usually use here for Lunch.

All I have to say is, food was not good, noodles in the pad thai were so sad and it is definitely NOT worth it. That is all.

I ordered in person then asked for delivery b# I knew it would take awhile, and I ordered a lot. They said delivery time is 45 min. An hour had passed so I called , and the girl with blue circle lens (seeing that she's def thai) says we told you delivery is around 45 mins to an hour. I replied it's been over an hour , and she flippantly says back it's going to take one more hour because he's cooking your food now. I said that's not good service and then blue lens says do you want to cancel your order? so I cancelled my order. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Pissed off and hungry

Good yummy food

If this place closes, I will be very sad. Out of maybe 10 Thai restaurants I've ever tried, by far the best quality and quality ratio and value. For the dinner portion of pad thai beef, the is a good amount of beef, they fill up the styofoam take out box (not just half), and they always have friendly staff. I almost always get pad thai beef and it's kept hot in aluminum foil. Don't try it spicy unless you like it spicy. I felt the urge to write this because I'm tired of trying better rated Thai places which don't even deserve it. This place should be at least 4 stars. Down side is parking because there are usually few open spots and a minimum $10 to use a card. Please try this place for yourself.

Best Place for thai! It's across the street from CSUN and it's cheaper than other places. Really recommend this place

Last Friday I visited this place for the first time. The floors are dingy and there are insects flying around. The female, who did not give eye contact or even acknowledge me stared at her cell phone. Walked up to the register, she was texting. I began to inquire about the items that I normally order, I was rudely cut off, with no response to the question of the ingredients and process for preparing them. Again no response. I thought maybe there was a language barrier, initially. I proceeded to order the basics. When I handed the money to her, she placed my changed on the counter, which was unclean. I added a ginger tea to my order, again handing the money to her and again she placed my change on the counter. I explained to the female that in business, its rude to place the money on the counter. The female then turned her back to me while I was speaking. I politely asked for a refund. As I was walking out the door, I noticed some insects. FIRST AND LAST TIME. NEVER AGAIN. Went next door to Boba Tea House, 360 degree difference. Clean floors, clean tables, and the biggest thing of them all, I was greeted. The Thai Tea is fresh brewed, all natural. And the fish cakes....muah! Boboa Tea House, you made my Friday My Day. Thai chili House, learn some respect, clean and debug your place and get some training on customer service and free enterprise, goods for service. No service..no goods..For you your future is bleek.

I love to have my good freshly done and this is the perfect place to come for that. The food is excellent in taste, your taste buds will thank you.
(5)Don T.
Not bad. The place is small though... Also, I do recommend more variety to your menu. Also, maybe spice things up with more chili peppers. Taste, acceptable. Size, slightly small, needs to be a little bigger. I also recommend offering discount for CSUN students. I guarantee by doing so, you'll grab more customers. Overall, like I said, not bad. Therefore, 3/5 stars from me.
(3)Rihan K.
My friend told me this spot was good so I went here last Monday and they where closed!!!! No sign up or nothing, never going back
(1)Ashley V.
This place is great for a quick lunch and I love that it's right across the street from CSUN. I became obsessed with the Tom Kha (coconut) soup and no other Thai place makes it half as good. Its not too sweet or watery and it has the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spice. That and the Tom Yum soup are my favorites. If you like really spicy food, you'll love the spicy pad Thai! It's never too crowded and the servers are really nice.
(5)natalie g.
Delicious food but HORRIBLE service .. I feel that it's only been getting worse. The girls have a horrible attitude they're very rude and slow. There is only one girl that works there that's sweet and competent. Hopefully they will make a change because the food is good .
(3)Dale E.
Wow! That sucked. My co-workers warned me and they were right. What a horrible experience. I got the green curry lunch special and it was sub-par. The sweet and spicy soup was salty and not very good. The curry was horribly bland, lacking any coconut milk flavor and seemed like it had been microwaved. I burned the roof of my mouth on the molten curry sauce, but the chicken wasn't comparably hot, which says MICROWAVE! Then when I go to pay, they pop on a $.75 for using card on orders under $10. This place sucks, I will not be back.

Yay! I'm a fan- 4 stars. I don't have a favorite Thai food place here in the valley but I have an all time favorite back in Washington. No Thai place has satisfied me... over powering the taste of the one back in Washington. My friend's boyfriend told me this was a okay place so I decided to try it out for a first timer just to write a review later. I usually order Phad See Ew, Phad Thai or Cashew Chicken but I wanted to eat fried rice today so I can't say whether this place suits my taste or not until I try one of those three dishes. I ordered the pineapple fried rice today- thinking I would try something new. My friend and her boyfriend ordered Thai Chili Fried rice and Green Curry. I tried a shrimp from the Green Curry but I personally don't like curry. Speaking of my pineapple fried rice. did I mention how yummy it was?! I think it would have tasted better with some sriracha! I always see the condiments of different chilies and peppers but I tried the green peppers in a clear vinegar like sauce. I twas tart just how I like it! It actually went well with the fried rice. I was expecting the pineapple to be a bit sour but it was super sweet! The juices gushed into my mouth and it was delicious! :) The only disappointment... was the green onions... in fried rice I expect them to be chopped up in ringlets and go well with the fried rice but... it was chopped into... pinky size pieces.. which I did not appreciate. I am picky with vegetables and will only eat onions with some types of foods. In fried rice, I can only eat them in ringlets... I ended up eating some of the green onion... but I can tell you right now I made some faces... when I bit into some onions. The food too unusually long to prepare and cook too! Well, I haven't seen my friend in a week so we had a lot to catch up on which I won't complain today about the wait. It literally took like 15 minutes just to come out :/ From there on it was just a happy meal:) I have half saved for later tonight muahah! I can't wait to eat it:)
(4)Christian T.
Great place to go out for Thai. The owners are really nice and the service is top of the list - refills before the glass is empty. Especially the Red Curry is delish! Try it as a dinner special with Tom Yum Soup as a starter. Rice and Rolls on the side. If you want to burn take the Green Curry!
(5)Oliver A.
Great food. When Ordering Curries: Red (with duck if you like duck), Yellow, or Panang Fried Rice: Crab Noodles: Pad See Ew or Pad Thai (both are what you expect) Appetizers: Shrimp Bacon or S/P Calamari Recently their service has gotten lengthy due to turnover in staff, but the flavors and price justify it.
(5)Kira P.
The Larb Gai was very flavorful! The flavors of mint and lime were intoxicatingly delicious. I didn't notice any dark meat. There was a lot of juice (but it was so yummy I drank it like it was soup when I was finished, lol). They did try to contain it in the package by placing my container in a bag and tapping that bag shut, inevitably I opened it while still in the car and my bf got mad when it spilled in his car. I do agree with other Yelpers, the portion was a tad small for an entree item... bit for $7.25 I'm not complaint too much.
(5)Stephanie P.
No thank you! Ordered hot soup....wasn't hot, just sat on the counter. Bad service - talk about attitude! No more Thai for me....
(1)Julie L.
My first impression was, "So close, I gotta try it!" I moved just a couple houses away from this restaurant and I wanted to give it a try. I've passed by it many times before but the pictures on the window never really intrigued me. When I walked in, it was pretty empty although it was prime dinner time. I ordered the Pad See Ew with beef to-go. The noodle were more on the sweeter side, but the eggs were done right. Slightly burnt and well incorporated into the dish. I wish they would've used the Chinese broccoli instead of the standard broccoli because I think that's how it is supposed to be made. It tastes better too because the Chinese broccoli soaks up the sauce well. The lasting impression? "It's good Thai food and I'll be back because it's convenient."
(3)Kristina M.
+Great food (LOVE the pad thai, salad, and pad see-ew) +A large cup of Thai iced tea is HUMUNGOUS and one of the best Thai iced tea I've had as well +Affordable food for a college student or anybody looking to save a buck or two -Consistently CRAPPY servi

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST THAI PLACES I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! DUCK CURRY IS THE BEST CURRY EVER!!! I'm a believer that Duck Curry heaven exists, and it is here! There is only one word that describes this duck curry dish: !!! MAGNANIMOUS !!! Food: 5+ Service: 5 Value: 5 Atmosphere: 3.5 Background: Let me just start out by saying I'm a big Thai food fan. I have been to extremely expensive up-scale places to little holes in the wall. Let me tell you friends, this is the best hole in the wall gem of a Thai food place there is. Food: THE DUCK CURRY IS THE BEST CURRY I HAVE EVER HAD. ORDER THE DUCK CURRY AND YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. I have introduced multiple friends to the duck curry and now they are addicted. We get the curry at least 3 times every 2 weeks. This curry is thin, elegant, silky, milky, with a moderate spicy kick on the back-end of the pallet. $9.00 is all I need to go to duck heaven. I should also mention, that I'm a heavy eater, yet this curry is deceptively filling. You will not find a better duck curry under $15.00. Now that they realize they have a consistent fan base of the duck curry, they are sure to order my ducks =). I forgot to mention the curry is not very viscous (thick), although I would not dare describe it was watery because it is extremely flavorful. So if you are a fan of heavy and thick curries you may not enjoy this as much. Other dishes that are great include the Pad Kee Mao, and the Pad Thai. The Pad Thai is slightly sweet, but just enough to not make you sick of it. I have heard some people call it bland, but I'm not a fan of the overly sweet Pad Thais that a bunch of the upscale Thai food places endorse. If you add shrimp to the Pad Thai, you will not regret it. The Pad Kee Mao I decided to try capriciously. However, it is now also one of my top Thai food dishes. The portion is slightly small for a heavy eater, but it has a spicy kick that leaves me craving for more. Service: The employees are very friendly and patient. Though some apparently complain about the service, which is mostly due to language barrier problems. But lets face it people, wouldn't you much rather have an authentic Thai family giving you this food, instead of my Chinese family franchising it to you? These people are extremely great with deliveries, particularly to CSUN. We have food delivered on a constant basis. Atmosphere: This place is a hidden-gem. As such, it is a very small part that will not adequately seat large parties. I suggest catering as the food still arrives hot and fresh at least 90% of the time. This is a great place for lunch or dinner with a small group of friends. Conclusion: I swear I wrote this review half a year ago, but apparently I did not. This place deserves at least 4 1/2 stars. The only area you may find a better Thai food place is in Hollywood. Words can't describe my addiction to this duck curry. I would be willing to drive an hour for it, if I didn't leave near CSUN campus. Try this curry and comment about it, let's see what you feel. _________________________________ Secret tips (if you bothered to read this far): 1. For some odd reason, the duck curry tastes better to me when I have it delivered or for pick-up. I'm not sure whether the flavors have had longer to stew or if it's just me using a cheap plastic spoon to eat it out of. I swear I'm not crazy. 2. With most small asian establishments, there are some dishes that are amazing and some that are just banal. The three I mentioned earlier are spot on in terms of flavor and value. Alot of other dishes have great flavor, but lack on value; they don't get me full for the same amount of money. An example would be the Thai Basil Duck; tasty but I remain full. Feel free to experiment, but do not give this place a bad rating for you choosing one a bad item on the menu. I have given you the dishes to try. 3. When you order the Pad Kee Mao, add some more spicy sauce and jalapenos if you can handle it. You may be bleeding later..... But it is WORTH IT! Settle the acid with some Tarot slush boba next door. 4. I honestly was not completely impressed with the lunch menu. Just up your purchase by $2 and be extremely happy.

Tofu Madness! So far it's the only thing I tried, but that dipping sauce, YUM. I had a bit of some spicy Chicken but it wasn't my favorite. The inside is really cute, there is a little pavilion covering the register, and it's decorated as if it was in Thailand. The only thing that bugs me here is their dirty fish tank :[ It looks murky. The parking is a little hard to get into sometimes because it's so small. A plus, my favorite Boba place is next door. The woman who rung us up was nice! Thanks!

Ughhhh cockroach in the yellow chicken curry :( got it as take out. Called to inform them so that other diners will not find the same "treat"

My boyfriend and I were originally going to Boba Teahouse which is literally right next door. But the chance-taker in me told me to give Thai Chili House a go. Of course, my boyfriend went with it, being the optimistic he is. So we decided to put our hearts in this food establishment as Thai food is one of our TOP TOP food loves. And boooy were were DISAPPOINTED. First let's talk about the soup. Now this soup in my opinion was actually broth. BROTH? Okat. I already knew from that first taste that this was probably not a good idea. "It was a weird kind of sweet, not appetizing at all. And after a few sips, I was done. " says boyfriend. Now we came there to get our money's worth and just because an appetizer was, well a complete failure, I still wanted to remain hopeful. I ordered the Pad Thai, which was EXTREMELY SAUCEY. I did not like the feeling of getting all this sauce splattered on my mouth as I ate. It created a mess. The taste was alright. Honestly I had better. Boyfriend ordered the Thai BBQ Chicken which in his opinion was the dryest, chicken ever. He even tried to salvage his "meal" (moreso money) by dousing it with soy sauce which in fact, slid off the chicken itself. Rubbery, over-seasoned and burnt. Not to mention oily. But for me, I could forgive ALL of Thai Chili House's faults had it not been for the OLD rice they served. Similar to rice that you'd take out of the refrigerator after cooking it the night before. Let alone that, it was cold. Cold rice? Yeah, this is definitely the first and last time spending a dime here. Our waitress was very kind, very polite, in boyfriends opinion she took a little long serving but, I pitied the girl, as she MUST know the value of the food she has to serve.

I decided to go with my husband for a quick lunch, hoping to get something a bit more reasonably priced than our usual thai place. The restaurant itself was pleasant and clean. The staff was polite and helpful. Prices and special were good. My chicken was not so great, but all the other food- soup, pad thai, rice, wontons was good. I will give this place another try and order something different.
(3)Kmr K.
I was disappointed. I went to grab quick dinner here after work. The waitress was not friendly at all. It took them for a while to have our food out, because there was only one chef and one waitress. She wasn't all happy when I asked an extra plate, water, and other things for my son... and the restaurant was not busy at all! Because I had to wait for a while, I had time to observe the place. I noticed dusts and dead bugs near the door and on the table near the door... At that point, I seriously regretted being there and waiting for the food for so long.... We ordered yellow chicken curry and spicy basil chicken. The curry was so watery. I personally like thicker curry, so I was disappointed. Spicy basil chicken sauce was also really watery and veggies weren't cooked well.... I don't think I would ever go back unless my coworker makes me.

This place is really good. It's never really full which is nice and the food is really good. Servers are a hit or miss. They never really care much and are just kinda there to take your order but one time I took my friend there for the first time and it was 9, when they close at 9:30, and they were making a fuss about how we need to eat quickly so we can leave before they close. That seems rude to me but I've also worked at places where closing is important and people won't leave so I get it. Also the parking there is awful but that's not their fault. It's just a hassle to get into a spot when it's full for the most part But yeah, foods awesome. You should definitely try it. Better than most thai food I've had.
(3)Julianna Y.
This place is a gem, seriously. The Salt & Pepper Calamari is not to be skipped. Me and my boo were driving around this neighborhood looking for a local honey distributor and wandered into this empty, not so tempting restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. We shared The Calamari for an appetizer and he got the Pineapple Curry and I got the Tom Yum Goong soup and a side of rice. Everything was great even if the waitress did talk us into sharing a Thai Iced (instead of each getting our own) and said we didn't need to share any Wontons because we had ordered enough food. If you are ever randomly in Northridge craving Thai, give this dive a shot.
(3)Pang X.
Came here for a late dinner. Service was okay. Thai curry, pad thai, and drunk noodle was good, but portion a little small.
(4)Cariann C.
I'm so sad. We ordered food for delivery today and they were out of Thai iced tea. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? Also, no beef? Really? Noon on Saturday and you're out? I still really appreciate the quick delivery and tasty food. I just hope they get their act together. Seriously. How does a Thai place run out of Thai iced tea. I thought all Thai restaurants just had like, a special faucet installed that just endlessly poured the stuff. I feel like I just found out there's no Easter Bunny. Sigh.
(2)Spoon M.
I've ordered delivery from this spot one too many times. Food always comes out bland and they're always out of calamari when I call.
(2)natalie j.
First and last time at this whole in the wall. The food is not good has all the flavor you don't want and yet its still lacking, the quality is sub-standard, and to top it off the service is terrible.
(1)Christie B.
Ordered the Panang Chicken and the Pad See Ew. Panang Chicken was excellent! I've eaten this exact dish from multiple places around the valley and this one takes the cake! My sister had the Pad See Ew. She said it was great. Vegetables were very fresh. The only down side is she prefers the dish to be a little sweeter. Will definately be coming back!
(4)J R.
This was a nice spot next to the college. I was visiting the college as a prospective student and thought I should check out the surrounding places to eat. When I walked in I was greeted by a friendly gentleman. They had a lunch special which was pretty good. Overall, I'd give it a 4 stars since the food was good and the service was good
(4)Annie N.
I almost went 1 star but their fried rice is REALLY damn good. Unfortunately, I ordered 6 others things on their menu in attempts to impress my Vietnamese parents with a comprehensive Thai night. I got salty shrimp (which was stale) pad thai (which was too sweet) Spicy beef salad (please dont mess this up if youre going to be a thai joint!...p.s. it was messed up...stiff beef cuts, horrid iceberg lettuce shards, and no flavor, let alone spicyness) calamari (even worse, it was bright orange! Orange calamari? horrible batter) and some egg rolls which were old and they skimped on the innards. I normally don't post lower rated reviews but my Thai feast from here disappointed me, and my folks even more. Not gonna live that one down for awhile.
(2)Angela Q.
I've been here a few times, because I'm a CSUN student. It's very close to the campus, so it's very convenient. However, I won't be back. The food is ok, but last time I was here, I ordered a Thai tea and some egg rolls. The tea is like $4, but it's pretty good. However, I've ordered Thai tea there before, and they always fill the cup up with ice, so you barely get any tea. So this time around, I told the waitress "No ice". Then she said "that's gonna be $3 extra"! And I was like "What?"! I was speechless.. I never heard any restaurant charging you extra for no ice. That's like getting a hamburger from McDonald's and saying "no mayo", and they charge you extra. So I wasn't about to pay $7 for a Thai tea (my egg rolls cost less than that!). So I just told her to withhold the ice anyway, and just put less tea in the cup (so I won't have an extra $3 charge). I didn't even think she would be cheap enough to do it... So then she comes out and brings me a glass of Thai tea that's half empty! I couldn't believe it. I won't be back. She got no tip from me.
(2)Roman T.
For some weird reason, CSUN is surrounded by Thai food restaurants. This is the closest one to campus and, judging by the reviews, is the most frequently visited. After spending over a week practically living on campus, just thinking of campus food made me nauseous. I decided to check this place out and it really didn't do it for me. Service: Great. - Fast, but not that clean. (tables were sticky) Price: Pretty Cheap. -Lunch specials were about $6 each dish. Everything else was under $10, so that's good. Taste: Ummm... nonexistent. - Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but it seriously was bland. I had to use all of the hot sauce they gave me just to enjoy the Pad Thai. The egg rolls were also a disappointment. When you're in a hurry and want a quick, cheap lunch, then you're really not going to be too picky. Compared to the burgers and pizza on campus this place is heaven, but compared to a decent Thai place.... meh....
(3)Julieta G.
This is my favorite Thai food place near CSUN. Love their pad Thai and their Coconut Ice cream...soooo good! :) I come here for lunch, they have some cheap specials! :) It does get busy and there onlly seems to be one waitress sometimes, so it might be slow for you to get your food or drink quickly. Overall I love this place. :) FYI ------There is a $10 minimum for credit card use. There is a $.75 charge if your check is less than $10 and pay with your credit card.
(4)Bobby K.
Gets the job done, pad thai is alright, noodles could be better. Lunch special is pretty cheap, good price for college students on a budget. Food comes out pretty quick too!
(3)Aris L.
Average thai restaurant..i like their thai basil beef...friendly staff too..its a good place when u have short break at CSUN.... CONCLUSION = RECOMMENDED!!!
(3)Mrs. T.
My experience dining-in: 3 stars. Really good spicy chicken with basil, good portions in the lunch special. My experience with take-out: 1 star. I call in for an order and the hostess puts me on hold 3 times before I could even start to place my order. I ask if they have dinner specials and she abruptly asks if I am ready to order, as they are really busy...UM...ok...last time I checked, there are other (if not better) thai spots up and down Northridge who are grateful for the business that walks in the door or calls over the phone. I happily let her get back to her 'busy-ness'...I was left to wonder why I called this place in the first place. You'll get a 4 star experience down the street at Lum Ka Naad...go there instead.
(2)Christine F.
I'm super frustrated! I've been trying to call in my lunch order for over an hour now and no one would pick up the phone? I can literally let the phone ring and leave it on speaker phone for a good 5 minutes at a time with nobody answering! Maybe they don't need business after all... Their food is not worth all this headache!
(1)Maria A.
Amazing lunch and dinner specials!! If you like lots of lemongrass their soups are fabulous. They don't mind splitting checks and making adjustments to the dishes, even for big parties. The large drinks are HUGE! The vegetables are always fresh and nothing I've had has ever been too greasy. Favorites are the pad see yew (sp?) and the tom yum gai. Good spring rolls too! Atmosphere is not the greatest, lots of formica, and the service can be a little inconsistent, but is never really bad. The only thing I've had take too long is the check. Still, for the prices, especially the specials, its a great deal for starving students!
(4)Rebecca D.
I love this place. I love their food with a fire of one thousand suns. their service sucks. Bad. If I am moody I am not going to even try and deal with going here. But man, I love their food. So.. =/
(4)Sabrina T.
Love Thai Chili house. Although its a drive from our house, it has become our favorite Thai takeout take out. The girl that works the front desk is always friendly and very helpful. (update- she has not been here on our last couple of visits and the new girl seems disoriented and loves barking out orders.) The pad thai chicken is good along with the green soy curry. All in all, it's a great little place. Parking can be a nightmare at busy times of day since it's such a small parking lot - but if you want 5 minutes or so, you can typically find a spot. Cashew chicken is amazing but they often sell out because it's so yummy. Brown rice is really good. Hoping our favorite girl that works there comes back soon! Phuket here we come!
(4)Nancy M.
Lunch Specials are always awesome! $5.95 is a little amount for a decent amount of food. ;) I love going to places that have good food and prices that are low, which is definitely this place. The menu is not that big, but they still have all the most common dishes that you would see on a Thai menu. I had my favorite spicy thai soup for a cold, rainy day(tom kha kai - a la carte), and the garlic chicken lunch special with a salad. I was soo full I couldn't eat all of it. The waitress was a little slow but I can't blame her. She was the only one there and looking over 3-4 tables. I would definitely come back though. :)
(3)James H.
The place is fantastic. Great food and probably one of the best Thai restaurants in the Valley. I've had my share of Thai food and I gotta say it's in my top rankings of Thai food. $5.95 lunch specials and $6.95 dinner specials. Plus a variety of items to choose from their a la carte menu! Been going to this place for the past 3 years and have always enjoyed my meals there. Only problem is the small parking lot but that's not their fault.
(5)Bob H.
My dish was decent but everyone else at my table was underwhelmed. Will most likely not come back as it was nothing special. I got the RAD-NA CRISPY NOODLES which to me was decent.
(2)Warner G.
This place was sloooowwwww. walked in and ordered and 25 minutes later..we get our soup?. The place was empty? Then the cook and waitress began arguing with us? We will never go back to this place. I hope the owner is reading this. The service was horrible. The cook and waitress told us they were not concerned and told us if we didn't want to come back...we didn't have to. wow.
(1)Char L.
Mom and Pop place. It's got a home feel to it. The plates looked like something from a kitchen cabinet. Came here for lunch - not very crowded, fast and clean service. They have some lunch specials for $5.95 - maybe 14 items to choose from. Had the normal lunch menu stuff - pad thai, spicy eggplants, BBQ chicken, curry, etc. The lunch special comes with salad, choice or wontons or eggrolls, rice. I was disappointed that they didn't have pad se-ew as one of the lunch specials, so I just ordered it regular for $6.75. The pad se-ew had a good amount of beef and eggs and maybe 5 or 6 broccoli flowers. I'd come here again for lunch. Parking lot. Across the street from CSUN. Tapioca Express next door.

Time to be mean but truthful!!!!! few days again, when I got really hungry during working hours, I urged my two collegues to get lunch from Thai Chili House. So, since my previous experience was positive, I assumed this time would be positive as well. But Zeus was I wrong! I ordered my usual, beef and broccoli, with brown rice, one friend got the chicken with veggies and the other the peanut sauce chicken breast-sticks. Usually you can order-pick up during the lunch time and get in like 30 minutes. That's how we did many times before. I mean, I understand when people get busy and that kind of delays the order, but I don't understand being mean and impolite when you have forgotten to write down the order, make us wait more than 30 minutes and have someone looking like the dirty bastard from Austing Powers movie to cook your food, that gods know what he has touched before our food. So, making short sroty long, we had a long hair in our food, we're thankful that it was long.... but mad for the above reasons. Too bad ...

Thai Chili House offers its best service before you take your first bite --- a considerate delivery service for $3. The place is conveniently close to CSU Northridge but because of its prompt delivery service, that does not make a difference when I'm town. Both the prices and portions are relatively fair. I have not eaten at any other Thai restaurant in the area but judging from the reviews, Thai Chili House seems to be among the best. That is slightly troublesome as I have had a few issues, having eaten there several times. So far the place has once taken nearly two hours to complete its delivery, has brought an incorrect order (chicken instead of shrimp), and a couple of dishes have been tasteless (Heavenly Noodles) --- sometimes disgusting (BBQ Chicken). During the two-hour delivery dilemma, one of the staff members at the restaurant was very rude to my company when she called to inquire about the delay. Thai Chili House prepares some of the basics (steamed rice, Pad Thai, Thai iced tea) adequately and their delivery service is very considerate as not many restaurants offer delivery; some rarely offer phone order for pick-up. However, the number of shortcomings with the service and quality of the dishes brought down the score.

i went to the Thai Chili House on a Saturday night with a friend and it was a good experience because their menu was clear. I knew what I was going to order already and the service was fast. I got to try the shrimp dumplings for appetizer and it was delicious. i ordered the Pad See Ew which I was familiar with and it was tasty. The Thai Ice Tea is also very good. The prices were also affordable.

Love getting their food delivered to our house. The Pad Thai is NEVER a let down. The pa nang is really good. Had the coconut soup today and while the broth was very tasty and well spiced, that's all it pretty much was: broth. Very very little mushrooms and really no veggies. But, I'm going to hope this was a fluke and continue to order it. If you're in the area and order more than $15 worth, delivery is free which is nice. They are very reasonably priced and very friendly.

I've been told that admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery... So here goes..... My name is Sade, and I am addicted to Thai food. I can't get enough of it. Whether it's ritzy Thai downtown, or dirty hole-in-the-wall Thai. I have to have it. And it's not hot enough unless it puts sweat on my brow. That being said, this place is a treasure. I am visiting from San diego, in town for a wedding just down the road. I saw the word Thai and screeched into the parking lot. I snuck a peek at yelp and saw that more than a few good things had been said. Lucky me :) I just finished the red curry with shrimp and a bowl of chicken tom yum, 2 staple dishes I always use to test the waters of a new Thai joint, and this place passed with flying colors. The food had the perfect amount of heat (which for me is about a level 8) without me even having to request it. Well done. If for whatever reason I am ever forced to drive this far north again, I will reward myself with another meal here. :) P.S. The homeade coconut ice cream is a dream.

I wanted to have Thai food tonight but i was not impressed. The food is mediorcre at best and too expensive for what it was. It would be way too easy to find better tasting food. The plastic fork and spoon that came with the meal was covered in a stickey soda syrup...

i was a bit disappointed by its value of the place. first off, being Thai ethnicity i know the flavor palettes. i didnt taste it in their tom yum soup or the pad thai. it was bland. the thai ice tea, i couldve made a better one. in fact my 10year old niece couldve done better.

My expectations were high because of the reviews I read here. I went for lunch and ordered the seafood pad thai and a thom yum soup. The soup was good, but the pad thai lacked flavor. There are way better places for the same price if not cheaper. The service was sub-par. As part of a restaurant experience, I would have liked to see the same style of plates for each person and each dish, but everything being different did not add to the experience, it only subtracted from it.

My boyfriends family has been eating here for years. I have only been on the bandwagon for about 3. We are there so much that we know the owner by name. Good soup, rice, and pad kee mao. The only thing I am not such a fan of is the orange chicken, which I call candy/tar chicken. It's just too sweet for my liking and it sticks to my teeth (Eek!). The owners and staff are friendly, and the food is a great value. What else could you ask for? I'd deduct half a star for it always being so freakin' cold in there, and for the awful parking.

Good cheap food, but ALWAYS out of papaya salad. Just take it off the menu already.

Immobilized and hungry, I searched upon Yelp for something yummy and deliverable. The Thai Chili House delivers! I got pad kee mau, lemon grass soup, and chicken satay. The delivery was estimated 30-40 min, but it got here in about 20 min. (I live about a mile away.) The delivery guy was very nice and concerned that I was hurt. Bonus points for showing humanity! Food: I'd definitely recommend the pad kee mau!!! It was the perfect amount of spiciness. Perfect pasta-vegetable-chicken ratio! The soup was okay and I am saving the satay for my boyfriend. I'll definitely go back!

Hands down, the best (and friendliest) Thai place in the valley... and possibly all of L.A.! I love this place. They have fantastic, reasonably-priced lunch specials, which I appreciate because I work closeby. They rice is cooked to perfection... and I haven't had an entree that I haven't liked yet. I especially enjoy the Thai Chili Chicken. Fantastic taste! Just enough spice to make it worth your while without burning your mouth off. I especially like the service as well. To me, service is 50 of what makes a place great... and I have never been dissapointed. The food is served fast, and always with a friendly smile. There is a girl in her young twenties that works there often, and it is hard not smile in her presence! She is a bundle of positivity and has made each of my dining experiences enjoyable. You wouldn't think it from the outside.... but once inside, you won't be dissapointed!

I simply cannot get over their food. I have tried almost all of their lunch specials and have not been dissapointed. I especially can't get over thier soup, I think its called Tom Yum. Its a great little hole in the wall with good prices.

I really, really liked this place. So cheap, and so delicious!! Perfect for the CSUN student. Its right down the street. Lunch specials for 6 bucks--salad or soup, rice, and a list of entrees. I got the curry beef. Deliciously flavored. It was almost perfect. I tried the orange chicken here too. Really good!!! Such great flavor, even if its a staple American-Chinese dish. Big menu selection. Service, not the best. but decent! and they deliver?!? This will be a good relationship for me

The food is pretty good and the restaurant is pretty small. Its a bit pricey but they do freshley make their own food and in fact you can hear the woks in the kitchen. Their homemade hot sauces are pretty good but I only try the red one which was fantastic. I would come here again if I was in the mood for thai. Oh by the way their portions are pretty big and in fact two people can eat noodle plates.

I LOVE this place. They never disappoint me. I've tried many items on their menu and they're all amazing. I always get the chicken pad Thai it's hands down the best I've ever had. The chicken is white meat, served with rice And wonton or egg roll.very juicy and flavorful. This is my fav place .I've tried many Thai places and after this one, they all taste baddd. I go there twice a week. Love it!!

Not the best Thai food. One time their gas was turned off and they said it would only take half an hour for our food to be ready........but they took over an hour!!! We took our food to go........and what's worse was they gave my friend the wrong order since they were rushing. I think they purposely gave him fried tofu instead of the curry he ordered because they just couldn't make it in time. I don't know why they just couldn't be honest and let us know. We walked outside and a lady said they gave her fried tofu too !!!

So i walked in trying to find new Thai spots around CSUN. It took a while to be acknowledged. It seems as though all the employees like to hide in the back. I was finally seated and looking through the menu. after 10 minutes, another costumer had to get the attention of the waitress to tell her that she thought I was ready to order. Needless to say the service was bad. I ordered and wasn't even asked or offered a drink. I got the lunch special which seemed to be a good value, $5.99 for an appetizer and meal. I got the soup of the day, it was delicious so i figured this experience would be good. I decided to go through some yelp reviews while waiting for my food. I found some good reviews and then one review stating how someone found a shard of glass in their food. I figured that was a red flag, but then again i though whats the likelihood for me to find something like that in mine. Well, once i got my meal i began eating my tofu pad thai. It was okay until I started chewing and felt something weird in my mouth. I proceeded to pull out a string in my food. It was longer than 8 inches. Needless to say, never again will i come here.

Overall good food for great prices. Friendly Service. Close to CSUN...I'm really trying to think with what they might have going for them that's bad....AAAHHHH NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(5)Dine N.
I always come here. I do not like the wonton soup, bit plain and boring. I always get the curries-especially the lunch specials. I also like the basil duck. It is a bit spicy. i have gotten like a chicken stir-fry..nothing special..So everytime i go here its either a curry and the basil duck. Their Thai tea is perfectly mixed--not too watery or milky.

Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum! oh, and Yum!!!! This is an awesome little Thai place right across from the CSUN campus. Their prices are perfect for us college students. Lunch and dinner specials are bomb! Been here twice so far and I cant wait to go back. Service is a little slow but that's because they have one guy who I'm assuming is the owner so I cut them slack. Check this place out if you want some good Thai in the Valley.

Wow ! I loved my food tonight , I ordered Pad Thai and Panang curry ( both chicken extra spicy ) Yummy ! 10 out of 10 . Only wished when I ordered the brown rice they would have suggested that I order the large as the small wasn't enough. I should have specified the size , I just ordered rice - and assumed it was the large. Deffinately will be my go to Thai place , first time and I highly recomend it.

Good food, good prices. Some interesting variations that I don't find on the average Thai menu (heavenly noodle ftw). It's a small place with a quaint atmosphere, nothing too flashy. Only complaint is that delivery seems to take forever, and once or twice hasn't been able to find my house.
(4)Kevin B.
Deserves 3.5 Stars, but not 4. I loved their hot and sour soup and that you don't have to ask for the spice tray (it's already on the table). The service is friendly, and not hurried--- which may not be a good thing if one's on a fixed time schedule. Their $5.99 lunch special is a decent deal, and their ambiance is fairly standard. In sum, this place is certainly above average, but nothing tremendous.

I don't know why everyone here is saying that the food at Thai Chili House is bland, whatever I get is always full of flavor. Maybe some found their food bland because the restaurant has to tone down the spiciness to appeal to non-Thais since they can't handle the chilis that make Thai food as awesome as it is! When I go here, I order the Lunch Special which is just under $6. It includes your choice of entree, steamed rice, egg roll, and a choice of either soup (not for to-go orders) or salad. I like their Panang Curry (Green Curry) with chicken and I order it SPICY! Since they know I can handle it and that I'm a regular here, they always make it the way I like it. They also offer a Dinner Special after 3pm which is just like the Lunch Special, only with larger portions and costs about $6.50. In short, I never get tired of Thai Chili House because it is a great place to go when you want Thai food, but are on a tight budget at the same time, making it ideal for students.

I can eat here twice a week, every week. Moving from Chicago, which has a wide selection of unique mom and pop thai stops offering incredible dishes and service, I yearned for that that could make the grade. Here is the first place that shined.
(5)Johnny N.
NIce place, clean and comfortable. The place is never too crowded and the service is great. The price is also very affordable.
(5)Karlyn M.
We ordered food for delivery from this place because the Yelp review was good, so I feel compelled to write a review and let everyone know that there was a sizable shard of glass in our green curry. You read that right: there was glass in our food. To make things worse, when we contacted the restaurant, they argued with us and refused to refund our money. I would deeply urge everyone to think twice before ordering anything from this place.

Surprisingly good for a near campus place. Huge bonus points for the little thai chilis in fish sauce. The noodles were cooked perfectly. The drinks are cold. Great lunch spot for students.
(5)Gayle R.
Love the food! Only problem (hence 4 stars) is sometimes not so consistent. Sucks to have one of your favorites suddenly start tasting completely different from one month to the next, but at least it gives me an excuse to try everything on the menu. I'd recommend any of the soups or noodle dishes without reservation (the pad woon sen is great!).
(4)Gabriel D.
pretty good food but msg is a standard in many dishes. you can pay extra to get it without, which is still good despite the lack of neurotoxins. good portions for reasonable prices. a-ok.
