Ordered take out over the phone and my order was ready for pick up in 15 minutes :) Still a huge fan of this place! The California Chicken Salad was amazing and it instantly satisfied my hAnger (hunger + anger = hanger lol). California Chicken Salad Ingredients: Lettuce, chicken, avocado, feta cheese, carrots, broccoli, bell peppers, & pasta. With a side of balsamic vinaigrette = YUMMM! Definitely recommend getting this!! For $11, the portions are definitely generous and enough to feed 2 people. The salad comes with either whole wheat or white pita bread which pairs really well with the salad. (It's like making your own wrap) You can also create your own salad if you're a picky eater. AND they offer whole chicken meals, sides & soups as well. So delicious. CSUN student? Bring your student ID for a free drink.

This place is like a tender greens for Valley kids. Never been/heard of this place before. My uncle took me here once for lunch. I ordered the Caesar wrap (~$9). It was pretty good. One of the best wraps I've ever had. And it's pretty big too so you can share the half or save it for another meal. Inside the wrap they put these croutons inside that are so crunchy and mix perfectly with the mayo they put on the actual wrap. They also have soups and salads and chicken all over haha Overall it was good. I will def be back.

I had the absolute worst experience. I ordered my food (a wrap, mashed potatoes, and a broccoli soup) very eager to try it for the first time. I sat down and waited for my food, I noticed they were taking a while to serve it but didn't mind and thought the wait was due to the time required to prepare fresh food. It was over thirty minutes and I noticed that people who were behind me in line were getting their food. So I decided to go ask if my food was ready. A couple of minutes later a server took my food to the table and said "your broccoli soup is going to take a while longer" and apologized about it. Although it did bother me a little since I had been waiting already for a long time I told him it was okay because he was polite. I looked at my food and it looked very good, I took a bite of my wrap and it was good, I stuck my fork in the mashed potatoes and it didn't go through. The mashed potatoes were not only extremely cold but also hard. I don't even know how it's possible for them to get that hard, I mean my fork wouldn't go through! That's just ridiculous. I immediately went back to tell them, I stood their for a bit and I was completely ignored. No one not even the supervisor acknowledged me. I obviously had a problem if I went back with a full plate on my hand.... After I realized I was being ignored I told the first person who was near me about my problem. He was apologetic and said he would get me a new plate. I went back to my table and ate the wrap, by then it was about fifteen minutes after the food was served and about forty five minutes after I ordered and yet I still hadn't received my soup. My boyfriend and I decide to cancel the soup and just get our money back. I can confidently say I will not be back, ever. Oh I forgot to mention, it wasn't even busy when I went. Only one person ahead of me and two behind me.

Mixed review. First off I feel bad for anyone who works in food. I have worked minimum wage jobs at retailers but nobody gets more grumpy than when it comes to their stomachs, so I sympathize with people who work at this place because it's very busy. I called in an order, and told them exactly what I wanted on a salad. They put in something I did not want. No big deal, it happens. However, the cashier told me that it was already made and gave me a, "You'll still eat it right?", type of look. CCC has a great reputation for their food, but is definitely on the pricy side at 15 bucks for a salad and side. Call me picky, but I have an expectation that the food will be as I ordered for that price. I asked if they could make it again and it took about 10 minutes, after they said it would take 2 or 3. They messed up again. The third time came out in less than 2 minutes. The saving grace was a woman named Varteny, who apologized after the second time the order went wrong and offered an extra side for free. Had it not been for her, I may not have been back. On a side note, most of the people who worked there looked miserable. Not that I don't understand why, but maybe this isn't the job for them.

A healthy, affordable place to go around CSUN... The one star I took off simply because the ambiance. Noisy, hot and crowded during lunch time. I have been to CCC located in Westwood area, the ambiance over there is much much better than this one. Seems like everything moved into valley is worse than other locations...

BAD EFFIN EXPERIENCE REGARDING THEIR PICK UP ORDER! What's the point of ordering via phone if they will only do my order once I get to the store and paid for my food. This is not the first time and there's no excuse for this BS I experience today. I was LATE FOR WORK!

I FOUND A SCREW IN MY FOOD, not a hair, not a fly, A FREAKIN' SCREW! As if that wasn't enough, when I called in to tell the manager Anna about it & offered to bring back the screw she offered an apology & a free pint of potatoes. I think that is out of balance with the way they "screwed" up (pun intended). The least they can offer is a free meal in proportion to the one I ordered in addition to a full refund, not that I would eat there again. Just the gesture would show me that they gave a damn, apologies are just words, it's the actual action that counts.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. One of the few selections in Northridge that's affordable and HEALTHY! I always get the half chicken with wheat pita bread and a side of their incredible potato side (which I highly recommend anybody getting). Every time I eat here, I feel like I'm eating healthy, and feel so satisfied on how good it tastes. I will always eat here.

This is my go-to CCC location but after finding not one but two pieces of hair in my salad today.... No more. Every time I think about how many of them I might have eaten while I wasn't really paying attention to the salad, I feel like I need to retch. I think I might be sick.

I've got to give it to them, I've had some really amazing wraps, and chicken from this place. BUT Ive also waited a ridiculously long amount of time for orders as well, so if you're on a lunch crunch it may be best to stop somewhere else. My last visit I ordered a combo wrap and a side of broccoli soup (which wasn't ready) so i asked the guy at the counter about how long that should take since I'm on a lunch break and he responded with 3 mins, so i thought that was more than reasonable for a wait time. the order took more than 25 mins and when the guy behind the counter finally came after the 25 mins it was still empty handed and was told they were STILL waiting on the soup, so since most breaks are only 30 mins long. I asked for a refund seeing as I now will not be able to eat at all. To which I got a scoff from the guy and had my money thrown in my hand. Not satisfied at all.

Three Cheers for the California Chicken Cafe. Not only is the food delicious here, but it's also surprisingly healthy, which is a really good thing as it's located near a college campus that tries it's hardest to make fatties out of it's student population by allowing only fast food on campus. The Chicken Cafe is a great place to spend $8 and get super full on really delicious freshly cooked food. I'm always pleased with what I get here, not to mention the fact that the prices are gentle even on the shoestring budget of the typical college student. I usually get the 1/4 chicken and a side of the pasta salad, it's a good deal and a pretty darn good meal for the price.

This place is GOOD. If you go to CSUN you gotta hit this place up. The food is fresh and healthy. Favorite is the combo wrap, although, EVERYTHING on the menu is good. Oh and show them your student ID for a FREE drink.

CCC is an absolute favorite for both me and the girlfriend. We love the sides that they have (potato, pasta salad, the rice, etc.). And the price cannot get any cheaper! Enough said.

This place is AMAZING! Right next to CSUN and so easy to stop by on your way out. Call ahead and no matter how quick you get there, your food will be ready and you can skip the regular line and go to the pick-up line. I always get the chicken caesar wrap with wheat. I'd love to try something else on the menu, but I just like this wrap too much. $7.25 is an amazingly good price on the amount of food you get. It's not heavy, it's reasonably healthy, and tastes great. I highly recommend this location or any other of their locations although I have only been to the westwood one outside of northridge.

My favorite lunch spot in Northridge! Order the Primavera Wrap, it's way better than the most popular Combo Wrap. Both the California Chicken Salad and the Chinese Chicken Salad are delicious and the portions are huge. I always order a side of hot potatoes which are crispy and really savory. Also, the Fruit Salad is a always fresh and includes lots of pineapple and strawberries, not just whack cantaloupe and honeydew. Seating is sometimes hard to find, but the food comes out pretty quick so it's usually not too big of a problem. Parking is also somewhat difficult in this crowded shopping center. Tip: CSUN students with IDs get fountain drinks for free! I'm glad I still have mine from the one course I took two years ago ;) Shady, I know, haha.

Everything is so fresh, all the time! I went with my wife today for lunch, we split a combo wrap with a couple of sides, potatoes and chicken pasta and one Diet Coke, all for $14.00. What a deal, don't wanna say cheap date.....This is a good for a Monday, when we all start our diets, as I'm eating some not so good for you TEX MEX trail mix? I'll be back!

plenty of parking, long lines during peak hours tho. chicken is amaaaaaaazing for being a quick service place. the portions are big. i always order two things to share plus a side or two cus i always assume im THAT hungry, lol but i dont think i ever finished it all in one setting so kudos to the portions :) i just love their chicken. its never dry &paired with one of their salads.. you cant go wrong. =) first tried this place about 5 years ago &was hooked! im always craving this stuff.

i love me some chicken and cali chicken cafe has real flavorful chicken and delicious sides to go with it. i dig the whole health revolution going on so i go to this place to get my health food grub on. upon entering CCC u will notice the clientele is mostly college kids. the times ive been there its always packed with a pretty long line, but worth the wait tho. The food is well prepared and the sevice is fast. I love that they have more than one hot sauce in the condiment section. side dishes: potatoes are good, love the cesar salad, and the chicken mac salad like i said i love thier chicken here, but the wraps are bomb too!! cant go wrong with CCC............and FYI i went last night right before they closed and they gave away free sides (patotes and chcken mac salad)

Chinese chicken salad is the best. I prefer the wrap because i like dropping some of that spicy sweet sauce goodness on top....mmmm. The chicken pasta salad is good, can get a little mayo-y though. Garlic potatoes are great. Butternut squash is the best though!

Every time my sister comes to visit we eat here. Normally I would never go to a place like this, way too many healthy things, but my sister convinced me to try it, and what do you know, it was pretty good! It is always pretty crowded, but the food is always delicious. I have only ordered wraps as my main meal but I've tried a different one every time. I have had the combo wrap, the primavera wrap (with no sprouts or carrots), and the Caesar Wrap. I like the Primavera the best. As a side I always order the hot potatoes, add a little salt, YUMMY! The one time I didn't order potatoes, my sister did, and I had complete food envy! I love how everything you need to take your food home is on the side for you to use, I find such excitement in wrapping half my wrap in tin foil myself, I don't know why but I really do. Tips: -Don't come if you're in a hurry, even the take out has quite a wait. -Order the hot potatoes! (add salt) -Don't order the butternut squash, unless you're a big fan of warm baby food. -If you want anything, Tapatio, salt, pepper, silverware, get up and get it! -Learn to be friendly! You will be sitting directly next to someone, you have never met. -Take food home just so you can wrap it up in foil! Trust me its fun. One wish: Dessert -1 star. A girls got to have her dessert.

Straight from early morning studying i went to CCC and ordered a Combo Wrap and was super satisfied. I think it's the best wrap they have. This place is also great place to order family meals. Call ahead of time and place your order it's more convenient that way.

My husband introduced me to this place over a year ago, and I was hooked! The combo wrap is by far my absolute favorite!!! Along with their California chicken salad!!! My hubby always gets 1/2 chicken with 2 sides( chinese cabbage salad and veggie rice primavera. That too, is yum, yum, yum.

By far my favorite spot to eat in the Northridge area! I never can get enough of their Primavera chicken wraps w/ wheat pita, always fulfilling and fresh. Right when I thought nothing could top their delicious wraps, I recently ordered an Asian Chicken Salad and yes, the portion was huge, however this is by far one of the greatest Asian Salads I have had in a long time. They throw in some Rotini pasta along with the usual chicken, lettuce, and almonds. All in all it was a satisfying experience.

i am in loove with their hot potatoes! if you love potatoes as much as i do, then you need to try this place. To be honest, the only thing i've tried is the caesar wrap and regular wrap (chicken, lettuce, tomato and mayo), and let me tell you, it was preeet-ty good. the chicken was nice and tender, and everything else was fresh. i felt healthy and non-fat like after eating here!

This has been my very favorite place to eat for the last 10 years! The salads, wraps & roasted chicken are all amazing. My husband and 3 year old love it also. I love all their sides dishes. I really wish they were open on Sundays, and check to make sure your to-go order is right before leaving, but other than that I have no complaints.

One thing that makes me sad about living in OC is no California Chicken Cafe. CCC, why can't you make a home away from home in my neck of the woods? Until then, every time I visit my family in the Valley I make them go there with me to enjoy CCC in all it's deliciousness. Even though the California Chicken Cafe has chicken right in the name, that's not what I go there for...in fact I don't think I've ever had the chicken. My thing is the veggie wrap...filled with jack cheese, avocado, carrot, lettuce, tomato, sprouts (but I hold the sprouts cause I think they taste like dirt) Italian dressing and mayo. It's all wrapped up in a.....tortilla? pita? lavosh? hybrid flat bread? I don't know...but it's yummy. I think its the combo of mayo and Italian dressing that makes this wrap so delicious. Mayo rocks! Sides cost extra...I highly recommend the Hot Potatoes...they are roasted red potatoes with caramelized onions....sooooo good! A side salad is also nice. They have a great Caesar and the croutons are pita chips......which leads me to the brilliant conclusion that the wraps must be wrapped in pita bread...but it's not as thick as I would normally think of pita bread being....Hmmmm. The atmosphere is cafeteria-esque and you pony up to the counter and place your order. They give you a number and bring your order to your table (which by the way, is positioned extremely close to the table next to yours). It's usually busy but not too busy that you can't get a table. Oh, and they're closed on Sundays. California Chicken Cafe...if you could just make your way to Long Beach I think that would be a good compromise??? Please.... Pretty please....

Really great, healthy choices, including the sides! I had a three-piece chicken meal with butternut squash and broccoli pasta salad as my side choices. I was also able to mooch some of my very hot friend's veggie soup. The soup was quite yummy and the heartiest I've had. Great serving size, too. Even though I had dinner there last night, I'm actually still full, and it's only 8:30 AM now!!! I'm told this place is mobbed regularly by CSUN kids and police officers. I feel smart, safe, AND healthy. I sure wish they had one in the San Gabriel Valley!

YUMMY!!!! I eat here all the time, because the food is great!!! I recommend either the California Chicken Salad with low fat Italian dressing, or the Combo Wrap!!!!!

  • Patrick H.

This place is amazing. The food is really really good. I've tried everything on the menu and theyre all really good. I love the potatoes, they are the most addictive potatoes ever. AHH!!! I suggest the Primavera/Rice Wraps because they're really good. Sides to get: potatoes/rice/chicken pasta salad. And if youre a CSUN student, you get a free drink. The only bad thing here is it gets crowded real bad at times, during that lunch rush. And its self seat, so the competition for seats may be high. Also, its so noisy (but quieter than the Encino location). So its good for casual meals.

I think CCC is overrated as a whole, however i do love their Chinese Chicken Salad. But i wish so so so badly that they would let you order a half size. It's fucking HUGE, and unfortunately i'm an OCD freak with my food and i don't eat leftovers older than a few hours. So most of this salad goes to waste. When i remember to, i ask for the dressing on the side so when i don't finish, i can take it home and it wont be soggy in half an hour. But it really is a ridiculously large salad. Delicious, though. The chicken here is soooo overrated. It's not that good. I mean i totally understand if you want some rotisserie chicken and don't want a shitty one from Ralphs and don't want to drive all the way to Zankou Chicken, CCC is definitely an understandable choice. But the chicken is just really average, not too flavorful, and pretty dry. However, you get a lot for what you pay for. And who can resist the garlic potatoes? I don't even like potatoes and i can't say no to those babies. Good selection of wraps and salads, i realllllllly wish they had sandwiches though cuz i'm not a fan of wraps. And now they have whole wheat pita wraps...but if you're planning on getting a pita wrap, don't waste your time here and go across the street to Pita Pocket and get something legit. Anyway, i like California Chicken Cafe, although this isn't the best location. Expect it to be crowded around lunch time because of all of the CSUNers. You've been warned.

This place offers great healthy food to eat morning, noon and night. Their chicken is to die for. Their wraps, salads and sides are excellent. Their salads stay freash if put in the fridge overnight. Their wraps do not. It is best to eat their wraps on the same day you purchase them. My favorite side is the broccoli pasta salad and my favorite salad is the california chicken salad. Also, be sure to check your order when you recieve it. Sometimes you have them add something or not add something and they do the opposite. In the end, all I can say is you won't be disappointed!

This is my favorite restaurant in Northridge. Get the Chicken Rice Wrap on the whole wheat pita or the California Chicken salad with Balsamic dressing. Best bang for the buck...I go at LEAST 4 times a month.

California Chicken Cafe needs to pack up, leave and never come back. The food here is nasty because it is simply blander than bland could ever be! There is no flavor in this food whatsoever and to make it worse, it's expensive! I'm surprised people actually like this place, because anyone in their right mind wouldn't say that the food here is good unless they lost their sense of taste and smell from shooting bottle rockets into their noses by accident on the 4th of July! Seriously, I recommend Marie Callender's instead of this hole!

  • Laura F.

I like it here, but only when I don't have to be charming and talkative because it gets noisy in this establishment. I'd rather listen into other people's conversations about their boring and miscreant lives as they struggle to shout above the din of eachother. The food is good. I always order the Low Cal chicken ceasar salad. I modify this dish by smothering it in about half a bottle of Cholula sauce. I love Cholula and as of now, the only place I know where to buy the stuff is at Vallarta...shame. Anyway, it gets busy and crowded and noisy, but the food is good and tastes healthy in a non-gross manner. Prices are decent too. I've had the butternut squash and it was a bit too flavorless for me. No amount of Cholula could help that, but if you love really subtle flavors then perhaps you will enjoy it. The chicken is verry tasty.

This place is great. So far, I haven't been disappointed with any of the it's offerings. Today, I discovered their broccoli pasta salad (side) thanks to my sister. Love it. I usually get the potatoes, but now I guess I'll have to flip a coin. The chicken wraps are great,..... I get the combo. Their chicken dishes are really good and well seasoned, never dry and full of flavor. It's a must eat.

love this place. i go to CSUN, and it is honestly surprising that the only times i have been here are when my mom and i are out around the area, or when my sister used to go to CSUN too and we had to stay late for class. but the food is excellent, and the prices are great too. i usually get the 8 piece chicken and it is like $4 something if i remember correctly. skin is perfectly flavored, meat is nice and juicy, i love it. then my sister or mom usually gets the chinese chicken salad, which is huge, and delicious also. we usually add some of the chicken from the 8 piece into the salad so there is more chicken in it. and the meals come with pita bread too which is a nice touch. now that i am writing this review i feel the need to go again, so maybe after class in the next couple days. but go here, you will not be disappointed

Fresh as fresh gets! Salads are delicious. Veggie soup is to die for. I always get double orders, so I can have it at home for a few days. HUGE PORTIONS. I can't wait to visit the Valley, so I can eat there again. Love their blue cheese dressing. SOooooo good. I've never had the chicken there, but everthing else is delicious. Sometimes you want a clean lunch. Greasy fries, burgers, chinese food??? Forget it and Go to CCC! You'll thank yourself later.

  • Kelly S.

What can i say? I'm fat, and i love food! And this place has great food. I'm a creature of habit and i usually order the rice wrap... stuffed with rice primavera, chicken and veggies. great stuff! the potatoes are delicious too! they have an array of side dishes and salads that look fantastic, and maybe one day i'll actually try them, but for now i'll stick to the wrap. The one downside to eating there is the parking... it sucks!... the joint is located right next to the school and the parking lot is always packed! it's like a warzone!... but the rice wrap is worth it. totally!

  • Efy M.

This place used to be better. Their wraps aren't wrapped well anymore. It's still darn good. I call my orders in during peak times because I don't want to wait in that line. Make sure they repeat your order because they can't hear you well. They've messed up my order, but as long as you check before you leave, they'll fix it for you. Their mashed potatoes are amazing. You gotta eat them right away because they get a little weird when they're not piping hot, but still good. They have the new broccoli soup thing and that's ok. Hot potatoes are good, but the onions make your breath stink a little. Chicken pasta salad is good. I usually get a quarter chicken with some kind of side, but I've had different wraps and their salads and they are all pretty good. The chicken in the wraps and salads can be a little dry so it makes you need dressing, which isn't good if you're trying to have a "healthy" lunch. They have so many different sauces for you, different kinds of hot sauce, bbq sauce, ketchup, salsa, olive oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. I usually like my chicken with a little hot sauce. If you show them CSUN ID, you get a free soda! This is one of the best places to eat around CSUN.

I LOVE this place. They have the best rotisserie chicken this side of the Mississippi. El Pollo Loco move over! Although they do not post the calorie counts on their menu, I would venture to say that this fast food restaurant chain offers better healthier options than most. I always order the 3 piece chicken meal with 2 sides, the Chinese Cabbage Salad and the Hot Potatoes, both of which are super yummy. The hot potatoes are SO good and seasoned very well, with onion, garlic and other quality seasonings. The chicken is always tender and flavorful and not at all greasy and the pita bread that is served with most of tehir meals is always fresh. My friends really enjoy the various salads and wraps that they offer, but I have not tried any of them so I will reserve my comments on those. If you want to eat something tasty, yet sensible and easy on the waistline, definitely eat here.

This was my favorite place for lunch when I went to CSUN and I had many fond memories here. I heart the combo wrap and used to get it every week. They also have many good, yummy sides. Damn, I wish I had a CCC close to me.

From the outside you wouldn't realize what awaits you inside. A delightful menu of salads. Some how they make the salads very flavorful and inventive. I LOVE their Chinese Chicken Salad. Anytime I'm in the area I suddenly get a craving for a nice GINORMOUS salad. You can seriously feed a family with one salad! Well ok maybe not a family, but at least 2 people very comfortably. I can't usually split because there are so many options why only get one salad! Get more and then just take it home! It's clean, the staff is friendly and the bathrooms are clean and definitely not scary.

I went to CSUN and never discovered this place until after I graduated, such a shame! Plain and simple, the food is amazing, and from what I understand not entirely "bad" for you. Everything is delicious, freshly prepared and generous. I can pay $9 for a chinese chicken salad that'll be enough for two meals, usually. Great food at a great price. I go here at least twice a week!

If you want something quick and fresh, California Chicken Cafe is the place to eat at. If you get the chicken, stuff it with the potatoes into the pita with some Siricha sauce and it's delicious. I was amazed to find that they carry Siricha here...but it definitely goes with the chicken and the potatoes. A delicious comibination. yum. The vegetable soup is also very good...extremely fresh and great on a cold day. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite.

I love the combo wrap. It's so fresh and its enough to have 1/2 for lunch and 1/2 for dinner. Enjoyed with a nice cold iced tea this is my perfect lunch for around $9! And They also have really good fruit cups. :-)

the parking lot sucks, but the food is delicious! if you can walk, definitely go for that option. alllll the food is great quality, fresh, and healthy. I've had pretty muich everything they have to offer, falafel, pasta salads, rotisserie chicken, various turkey, chicken or vegetarian wraps... Its all really good. Even their fruit salad is always super fresh and ripe. For a healthy alternative to fast-takeout, go to California Chicken Cafe! The only reason I wouldnt go every day is because of the price. When you get things on the side & buy a drink it tends to go just over $10/person.

Delicious rotisserie chicken, Salads and wraps! Their broccoli soup is also delicious, and low-calorie! Their roasted potatoes are amazing as well! It's affordable, especially when you get their meals (a whole chicken, plus 2 sides) which are usually enough to feed a family of 4 for around $20! Everything is FRESH, HEALTHY & DELICIOUS! And a huge plus is they are open late, however they are closed on Sundays. Also, if you go to CSUN and you show your CSUN ID, you get a FREE DRINK!

A nice healthy choice, but I have eaten at many other places just as healthy and they are much more flavorful than any California Chicken Cafe I have ever eaten at. The wraps dont taste like anything except lettuce. Each time I thought "maybe the next time I go eat there, it'll be better", by the 5th time, I just gave up. I do not like this place or any of its other locations, they all just taste bland.

i loooove their chicken! the skin is crispy and fullllll of flavor. the cesar salad is really yummy and i DON'T like salads at all. and the portions are HUGE. this location gives CSUN students a free drink with a valid ID, too. i get really excited about this place, and feel the need to use caps a lot.

I used to come here all the time solely for the Chinese Chicken Salads. The cashiers here have a habit of being really rude- I don't think I've ever had a cashier at this place be courteous to me. Courtesy is something really important to me... so strike one. The men who prepare the food here have a tendency to make me feel extremely uncomfortable with their suggestive remarks when delivering food to my table... strike two. In an attempt to avoid the unpleasant people who work here, I called in and ordered my food for pick up. As I'm at eating my salad at home, half-way through, I find a fucking ladybug in it. Disgusted, I called and asked to speak to the manager to explain what had just happened. He offered me a free salad for my next visit. Since I am never returning there, his offer was completely worthless to me. Strike three. After our chat, I proceeded to vomit the rest of the salad.

The chicken wraps here are so good. It has sprouts and cheese and lettuce and all good stuff. They also have roasted chicken and it's really moist. Lots of good sides too--especially the Caesar Salad, it has yummy croutons. Parking isn't really good here. It's crowded because there are so many other places in this strip mall.

can't go wrong with this place. chicken melt's in your mouth, great salads, free drink for CSUN students, and cheap prices.

try the veggie rice wrap! rice, lettuce, tomatoes (perfectly firm), guacamole, carrots, ranch dressing wrapped in a warm pita-like bread for 6 bucks. the caesar wrap is good, too.

  • Marissa K.

Right next to campus and not a far drive from work/home, CCC has the best, freshest salads, wraps, chicken, and sides. Low-cal diet friendly, always crowded and somewhat noisy, I couldn't think of a better place to eat steaming hot butternut squash, iced tea and salad!

    (5)
  • Azna O.

I always get the Chinese Chicken wrap with a side of potatoes. Yummy! This place is always busy--a good sign. They are quick with bringing the food over, too. I recommend it!

  • Jacob S.

For a cheap but good quality chicken meal for two, get the half chicken and two sides. Only about 10 bucks and it's better (and healthier) than most fast food places around here. There is usually a long lines here due to CSUN students but they will get your food fairly quickly.

California Chicken Cafe has become one of my favorite places to go in the L.A. area for a wrap. The combo is my favorite, but yesterday I had the veggie and it was so tasty and flavorful. Yesterday, I was working on a commercial and had to order food for a crew of about 25. CCC was about the only restaurant in Northridge after calling four that could have that much food ready in about 45 minutes. The food was ready on time, still hot and everything was correct. Even though that location was packed yesterday. Also, even though I don't know her name a girl working the counter around 1:00 even came out and helped me carry the food out to my car. If you are ordering lunch for your crew be sure to give them your business. But, be better than me and give them more than 45 minutes. :)

Love places like that, where food served fresh, because of constant flow of people. I don't think they ever pause. Being close to CSUN brings a lot of students and young energy. I only tried salads there - they were all good!

As good as it gets. Local and close to college. This places satisfies my hunger! Are you kidding me 10$ for a delicious Chicken Ceasar salad? How do they do it? The food is always fresh and the place is always packed with hungry customers! If you want to eat healthy, California Chicken Cafe is the answer.

I loved the Chicken Combo Wrap. The wrap is a good filling size. You can pick white or wheat pita for the wrap. This one has avocado yum my fav!!. I also ordered a side of broccoli pasta for $2 more (optional). I rate 4 out of 5 because my side was a little too creamy for me. I want to try the chicken meals next time!

  • Lauren P.

This is by far my favorite place to go too. I mostly order their salads because they are so delicious. You can order small or large for salads and believe me when I say you'll get pretty full on the large salad. Not only salad but they sale other healthy foods like wraps, and chicken. They also do pick up orders so you don't have to wait because there's usually a line. GO HERE, PERIOD.

SUPER HEALTHY FOOD! All I can comment on is the combo wrap which comes with avocado (this is a deal breaker) which I always get and a pint of potatoes and a sprite. The wraps are amazing! and the potatoes, AMAZING! Try this place out it is just...amazing!!!

California Chicken Cafe is one of the best healthy options near CSUN in the northern Valley! After my first review, I spoke with a customer service rep for CCC about posting nutrition information and got the typical vague responses. She said it was on their "short list" of things to get done -- but when I pressed her on it she finally said they were not going to work on it soon. Basically, if you want to know their nutrition info, wait until they have 20 locations so that they have to post it by law in California. They have great salads, and very very juicy rotisserie chicken! Check out the wraps as well -- they are quite good. Also, they have free drinks for CSUN students with ID's -- so hit that up if you are a student!

Was the place for me back when I worked in Northridge for ibm/wamu contract. It was the best place for chicken. Decent price, now if the prices are still the same (im not sure, havent been for years) they would be really cheap relatively to other chicken places. Health conscious, salads are awesome. The chinese chicken salad was the item that was the most popular here. At first it doesnt come off as really appetizing looking; it sort of looks bland. then the salad has sort of simple taste to it. But later you crave it more because it is so fresh and so texturally orchestrative in your mouth that you cant wait next day to get it again. Sides were so popular here. THe green pasta is decent (can be too saucy sometimes) and the broccoli pasta was my favorite. So texturally orchestrative in my mouth. Reason why i speak in the past tense is because we havent been here in awhile. I might go back to try it again. Unfortunately this place is only in the LA area. This is the one i most frequented but there is the one on ventura blvd and one on melrose that we frequented as well. They always have the friendliest and hard-working employees. well, at least at that time, who knows now. And always a clean sanitized open environment. Not a real visionary interior setup but simple and clean and open. Come here for a texturally orchestrative experience in your mouth.

Looks like prices have gone up since the last time I was here. I always come here for the Chinese Chicken Salad. Great salad which will fill you up. You can get a small version of this for $2 less. CCC has great side options also. Soup, fruit, pasta salads, etc. Rotisserie chicken here is good but for that I would rather go to a Peruvian spot. Is it me or is this place a Cop hangout now? hahaa

California Chicken Cafe not to get confused with California Pizza Kitchen, I say that because I got confused at first then finally figured it all out. CCC is a nice place to grab a salad, wrap or hot meal perfect for lunch time. If you can get your food and find a place to sit within your lunch hour though than more power to yuh. Location, location, location... location is everything. This California Chicken Cafe is right next to CSUN (a five minute walk, actually it's a lot faster to walk there most of the time then drive. Nordhoff is a headache and parking is a pain.) Being right next to a college and local businesses they are ALWAYS busy, crowd to the max where people are standing along side the wall and sprinting to an open seat, clean table or not. ** CSUN students and faculty -- if you flash your ID you receive a drink. 1 drink per ID, so if you're in a group and someone is generous and awesome enough to pay for everyone, you all can flash your ID. I think that's great that they do that and not just one drink per transaction because that would suck. Their salads are huge and pretty decent. I once had the Chinese Chicken Salad which was good. My boyfriend the other day had the Cesar Salad and I tried the Chicken Primavera wrap which was pretty tasty. All of their salads come with pita bread (white or wheat). Do enjoy and if you come to this one make sure you have on your running shoes because you'll have to sprint to your table. (YOU CAN CALL IN and pick up your order if you want to be brilliant and by pass all the hustle and bustle. You can go eat in the park or something, lot less crowd and I'm sure you can find the perfect spot in the grass or snag a bench :] )

When I go to CC i always get a chinese chicken salad or a chinese chicken wrap with mash potatoes w/ gravey or a bowl of fresh fruit. If you decide to order a chinese chicken salad, dont underestimate how full you will be after...you might not even be able to finish it

I usually get a turkey wrap and it is delish! I also had a zuchinni soup which was also delish! A great sandwich place to go to..and it's healthy! Will definitely come back!

I am a fan... period. The hubby and I have dined here many times (sit down and take out) and this is, hands down, one of my fav places to eat. The place is always clean and crowded. Order your food at the counter, grab your number, and find a seat. The food always tastes fresh, even the fruit is perfect regardless of the season. My fav order is the three piece thigh and legs with sides. The hard part is narrowing down the sides because I love everything! The potatoes, rice, fruit, and salad are my favs. Even the squash is great... you really can't go wrong ordering anything from here. Typically everything seems really fresh... today though my tomatoes in my salad and some of the fruit seemed to be left over from Saturday (they're closed on Sundays) but I still enjoyed it all nonetheless. I also love how they have EVERYTHING that you need available on the side counters. You don't have to go back and ask them for anything. The salsas, lemon, oil, vinegar, hot sauce, extra plates, napkins, etc. are all available self serve. They didn't have any water cup lids this time though but the guy was nice and gave me a soda cup so that I could (use a lid to) take my lemon water to go. Great atmosphere... lots of CSUN students there. Take out is really convenient. Parking can be crowded at times but the place is well worth the effort. Another bonus is that even though the place is a set up like a fast food spot, there is real silverware and glass plates to eat off of. Staff cleans up your dishes after you leave. The employees always seem happy too.

Very healthy, very good tasting food. My friend and I each ordered a wrap. The place was very busy and it was obvious that a lot of people like this place. We didn't have to wait in line behind more than 2-3 people - they are very efficient. 5 stars for healthy, great tasting wraps ! (I'm a guy and it filled me up! The wraps are not small - it's a meal!)

  • Sandy S.

Omg. I've heard great things about this place but I've just recently found this CCC near my house. The white meat chicken was tender and juicy. It was not dry like the other fast food places I've been to. The pasta and broccoli salad was also delicious. I like the fact that they gave us so many condiments like olive oil, vinaigrette, Thai chicken sauce, sirachai, bbq sauce, salsa, etc. The salsa was so fresh! AND service was great!

    (5)
  • Rebecca C.

One of my favorite place to eat in the valley. Their chicken is so tender and flavorful. My favorite dish is the chinese chicken salad. It's a big sald with chicken, pasta, tangerine, and nuts. I love the sauce and they always put a good amount so that its not drenched in sauce. They always give a side of pita bread, which goes great with the salad. Sometimes I take my meal to go and make a chinese chicken salad pita sandwich with ham from my fridge. It gets pretty crowded during lunch hours, but it's totally worth the wait. GO GO GO!!!

  • Briii T.

mmmmmm....so good! Very tastyyyy! Great wraps! Get the Chinese wrap or Chinese Chicken Salad! I hear the Combo wrap is great too (according to a close friend) =) Wraps range around $7 with tax but salads are a couple bucks more. Gets crowded around lunch time and can be difficult to find seats. Parking can also be a pain during peak hours but worth it. GET IT!

  • joy h.

Almost like cafeteria food....tasteless and flavorless!!! Wrap was dry and they got the order completely wrong. As a token they gave me some of the nastly salad they sell.....lucky me! On a good note it is clean :) but so is my house!

  • Leila M.

Seriously love this place. But know that this isn't somewhere to go when you're looking for something very tasty. This is a place you go whenyou're hungry and want something healthy. Their wraps are so GOOD (but not the one with italian dressing). Sometimes their side of potatoes isn't cooked well enough but I still like them And the cashier girls are usually very rude but the busboys (I think that's who they are) are SO NICE! My friend spilled her salad on her and one of the guys went and brought us towels and then my sister managed to spill her water and he even cleaned that up for us! So nice! I would give the place 4.5 stars if I could...

    (4)
  • Dorothy L.

It's close to school, and CSUN students and faculty with ID get a free drink with their purchase! This place gets packed at lunch, so either go early or later, or you'll be sharing a table with strangers. I like to get the Chinese Chicken Wrap ($7.25). It's tasty and fresh, and is good fuel for a day full of classes! Their sides are good, too - the fresh fruit is really, umm, fresh!

Took a dump in their bathroom and clogged the toilet. 5 Stars to the staff for dealing with this. -_- sorry!

  • Mehran K.

Nice healthy food close to home. I like that they have whole wheat pita bread and lowfat/fatfree dressings as an option. Their coleslaw is one of the best I've ever had. Whole chicken is pretty damn good. I usually get the chinese chicken wrap. I like the texture the dried noodles gives the wrap. Their vegetable soup is homemade everyday with fresh ingredients. You can taste the difference. I used to come here all the time and eventually the food got old to me. But I only go here once in a while now and the flavor is kicking again haha. It would be nice to get some nutritional information on the food they serve. I know if they plan on opening up a few more locations they will be forced to by law. We'll see if it is actually as healthy as we think.

I'm in love with this place! I can't wait to eat there when I finally move into that area! I ordered Classic Wrap and hot potatoes! SO GOOD. Add the spicy to the classic wrap and the salt to the hot potatoes, it's a hit!! This is going to be my first place I'll eat at once I move into that area :) OH! Free soda with CSUN student ID!

Very yummy. Found this place through yelp, after searching "healthy" I had the classic wrap which was pretty good. I also ordered the brocolli pasta side because of the positive review. I'm glad I did. :) The place was very clean, good service. I'm recommending this place. I will comeback soon

I come here when I want to eat healthy-er. The chicken is good. Their wraps are good. Their salads are good. This place is good! This place is super busy during lunch time and it might be hard to find a seat. It is close to CSUN so there are lots of CSUN students during the weekdays. For some reason, every time I go there, I see a cop eating there.

I wanna give this place a 3.5 ... i always like my food here... where i get a wrap, chicken and sides, or salad it good and fast food... but i don't like the mashed squash.... sounds good but too mushy and watery..... it's not a place i crave but always happy with my food when i eat there...

I spend the bulk of my lunch break driving here at least once every week. Why? Because it's worth the trip. I'm a little bit of a health nut, and finding fresh, good quality, healthy food that actually tastes good is more difficult than it should be. California Chicken Cafe, though, is consistently excellent. You should definitely try the California Chicken Salad with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I ask them to take out the pasta (no need for the extra calories), and it's still incredibly filling. If you're looking for something more hand-held, the Combo Wrap is REALLY tasty too. I like to get that with a side of Chinese Cabbage Salad. Also, I recommend calling ahead. They have a separate pickup line for those who called in their orders, so you won't have to wait. And their menu is online, so unless you want to actually view the dishes before ordering, it's the fastest way to get your food. Oh, one more thing. Their soda fountain has Fresca.

I've been coming to CCC for years. My most recent visit was the Northridge location. Lunch hour definitely draws in a large crowd but I enjoy the fast-paced environment. The staff has it quite down! I usually order take-out... Although I was mad enough to stop by during the lunch hour, it waited about 15 minutes max for three items. My go-to favs: enormous Chinese Chicken Salad (although you can order a smaller portion), Combo Wrap and my all-time favorite "red potatoes sauteed with onions, garlic, and seasonings ..." The Northridge location is open until 10:00pm which is also a delight.

These wraps are so huge I had trouble eating it. I don't know how people even eat these wraps--they're so thick. In the process of eating one of these wraps, I got a tiny stretch-cut on the corner of my lips. Nevertheless, the food was great. I had the Combo wrap, since I didn't know what to order. The difference between these wraps and any other wrap I've had is that they don't use a typical tortilla wrap, but instead, a thick piece of pita wrap with your choice of white or whole wheat pita. The combo wrap had lettuce, jack cheese, sprouts, chicken, mustard/mayo/green onions (optional), tomato/avocado. It was tightly wrapped and heavy. I also had a side of Broccoli Pasta Salad (for $1.50 more). For under 10 dollars, you get a large amount of food, served quickly. It was basically self serve. There was a Salsa bar, soda fountain, utensils, to-go boxes, foil, paper bags, ect all easily accessible.

Visiting the area for 7 days and I hit this place up 4 times. Yes folks, I'm a loyal fan. I dream about this place in Denver and take ANY opportunity to visit one of my favorite chicken places when I'm in town. Besides their chicken (which is awesomely delicious) I LOVE their pasta salads. Their broccoli pasta salad is to die for! So is the other one that looks pinkish. Salads, fruit, potatoes, rice, EVERYTHING is delicious. You also don't feel like you've ingested 2,000 calories when you leave the place too. My luck... 2 out of the 4 times I was there during my 7 day trip the AC was out and the temps in the valley were 110 degrees. I was sweating up a storm while eating my chicken. :o/

Absolutely gorgeous. i mean the chicken is. CCC has to be one of the nicest tastiest meals out here in Northridge. I must say everything tastes fresh every time and it's consistent. This franchise does it well. Pricey? I'd say so. But then again, I'd pay that price for a solid meal where the tomatoes aren't almost transparent from sitting too long. I enjoy the sumptuous portions and the very balanced meals. Every meal you pick will have great ratio of carbs to veggies to meats. Parking is very stressful. Due to the strip mall, the parking lot is in a very busy intersection that is not the most accessible. Entering and exiting will require heightened attention to your car's dimensions. But the meal is well worth it. I always try to park near the bus stop to avoid having the crazies park next to me or the CSUN kids who most likely did not purchase their own car park next to me. I mean. it's LA. i know but i try to avoid dents. Also, expect to wait close to 10-15 min for your meal to come out. They really do make it fresh to order. Also I've seen a few times when someone had something for take out and waited with their number but the cashier forgot. This happens rarely. I'd say for a quick in and out, phone it. They will have your meal ready when you walk in. I'll be going here often.

  • Robert H.

Everything is so fresh and clean here. The chicken is moist and crispy on the outside, always hot. I prefer their Woodland Hills location to this one which is a bit smaller, but the food is always consistently good. You cant go wrong with this place if you feel like eating healthy, there is very little oil on their sides and a lot of them are vegetarian, if thats your thing.

    (4)
  • Will L.

Happy to find this place around here. They actually have several in this area. Guess they may have started in the valley? Anyway, last time I tried this place was in Venice Beach. They don't have any of these CCCs near me. Fortunately, I'm in the valley for a couple months. This place is reasonably priced and the food is aimed at being healthy.. All chicken of course, but the food is really good. Def recommend. Esp good if you're looking for a healthy meal. Have been here couple times for lunch.

  • Kasey N.

This place is so great! I always opt to get the 3 sides for $8.00 here and I never regret! Love their vegetable soup, chicken pasta salad, and of course, RED POTATOES!!!! Absolutely delicious, along with their pita bread! and definitely gotta love the service here too!

  • Sherryl I.

Walk in and be greeted with the delicious smell emanating from roasted chicken on the spinning rods of the giant rotisserie. Here's somewhere you can eat without feeling guilty afterward. The food is delicious and satisfying, yet not that bad for you! My favorite is the Combo Wrap: chicken, guacamole, jack cheese, sprouts, Italian dressing, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. For side dishes, I usually go with the butternut squash, pasta salad, or broccoli salad. Parking can be tough, especially at peak times like lunch or rush hour. This place is very popular with CSUN students and local business folks who want to grab something quick and tasty on the way home after a long day. Sometimes there's a long wait. TIP: I like to call in my order to-go ahead of time. This way, it'll be ready for me to pick up once I arrive.

Really good food always fresh and easy to split. I sometimes get the wraps and sometimes get the salads. There is always plenty of free parking and if you change your mind there are so many other places in the same plaza.

Tried this place for the 1st time and ordered the following to go: 1. Combo Wrap (chicken, avocado, jack cheese, sprouts, Italian dressing, lettuce, tomato, and mayo wrapped in white pita bread - fresh and yummy ingredients and the pita was not dry; Decent price for the amount you get. 2. Side of Hot Potatoes (potatoes sautéed with onions, garlic, and seasonings) - flavorful and potatoes were cooked perfectly Would definitely come back to try other items on the menu. Great service and place is kept clean.

  • Lucero L.

This place is good, but it is really slow. It gets packed here especially during lunch you can expect to wait a while in line and also to get your food. Last night we waiting about 25-30 mins and there was not too many people ahead of us. I have no complain about the food (try the ceasar wrap)! But the wait is long and some of their food options are a bit pricey for what you get.I noticed some people say that the prices are good, but there is other places that with the same price, like a side of something. Here the sides are really tasty but you have to pay an extra 3 dollars for it and extra for drinks. (I was not aware CSUN students get drinks for free it didnt show it anywhere) Next time :)!

This was a place I never been to chill this past winter when I was living in California for an extended amount of time and needed a place for fresh food when I was out during the day. California is known for their fresh vegetables and fruit and produce but this place has the licious wraps reasonably priced and even gives you a free sandwich on your birthday. They have delicious chicken that sold alone barbecue and the sandwiches come in this terrific healthy combination. They have delicious fresh vegetables and huge salads

Great food. Can get crazy busy. Good idea to order ahead and take to go if possible. I am not a fan of the seating. Great customer service and very fresh!

The food is always consistent. Quality good food that tastes yummy. I can't complain at all. It's next to Cal State Northridge, so it is always packed. No problem finding a parking spot ever, and there are also seats outside.

I am a big fan of California Chicken Cafe however my last two experiences in this location have been very poor due to the staff. First, we were told there would be no chicken available for 45 minutes. When we asked how that happens at the "Chicken Cafe" the employee was extremely rude! Returned again today and our orders were wrong. When we discussed it with the staff, the employee responsible blew us off as she had no care and another girl tried to make it right. Think I'll stick to Sherman Oaks.

Why haven't I made a review for this place yet. I've been eating here frequently for the past 2 years and I am not disappointed. Even though it's a bit pricy the food is amazing. It's healthy, it's filling and it has amazing taste. Both their salads and wraps are beyond compare and their chicken and sides are very tasty. The sitting area is very cramped since the place is small and the majority of the space is used for the kitchen.

Called in an order at 6:06 P.M. Went to pick up and paid at 6:24 P.M. and had to wait 10 minutes, before seeing that our food was just sitting on the counter, not being bagged. Did not get food until 6:45 P.M. As the help was running around like chickens without their heads. Seems like they were training a bunch of people tonight.

3 Piece chicken with their mashed potatoes, and chicken pasta? Amazing and extremely fulfilling Chinese Chicken Salad? Even more freggin amazing and fulfilling! This place never disappoints. A bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. Thank you for opening a health conscious restaurant next to campus.

I cannot get enough of their salads! Well-prepared every time! Chinese Chicken Salad AND Wrap are both superb. I get that almost every time I go. It is usually really busy, but I like to call in my order. You don't even have to wait in line to pay, you just go straight to the front left register to pay. Very convenient during the lunch rush. The staff there work really hard, and it's noticed. It would be super cool if they had some type of rewards card! but the free drink with a CSUN ID is pretty cool too.

My co-worker and I always call in our order and it's always ready when we go in to pick them up. The workers here are very friendly with good customer service. The food is fresh and delicious. They always keep the place clean no matter how BUSY they are. And believe me, this place is never not busy. But even though there's always traffic inside this restaurant, they have never failed to provide delicious fresh food and excellent customer service. Thank you CCC Northridge!

Whether you call it California Chicken Cafe, Triple C's or CCC this place is so good. I always order the 1/2 chicken with 2 sides and Chinese chicken salad (good for 2 people). I take the chicken and I shred it up to stuff into my pita bread along with some Chinese chicken salad and top it off with their verde salsa and pico de gallo. Trust me it tastes so much better than their wrap. (Juicy pieces of meat vs their diced chicken breast.) As for sides I really love their fresh mash potato with silky flavorful gravy. Fresh, healthy, satisfying and delish!

Fresh yummy chicken wraps? Yea, you can definitely find those here! My friends and I were in town to visit a friend and wanted to eat somewhere quick - this is your place. Lots of chicken wraps to choose from. We ordered a variety of them and were happily full by the end of our meal! SETTING -This place can get pretty busy around meal times. We came around noon. -Good amount of tables, but you'll have to scout for them. -Family friendly. FOOD -Cesar Wrap. Yes! I was a bit cautious at first... Cesar Salad sounds a little boring (no offense if that is your favorite salad), but this wrap was definitely NOT boring. Got this with white pita bread (super fresh and warm) and everything was awesome -chicken, lettuce, tomato, cesar dressing. The croutons inside the wrap are genius. -Primavera Wrap. Also a winner, especially if you LOVE avocado like me! The sprouts and carrots make this wrap taste healthy. I'd also recommend this wrap. -Hot Potato Sides. This is their most popular order, but it wasn't anything special. Just a side of potatoes. 1 full wrap is pretty filling... so I wouldn't order a side unless you are super super hungry or eating with a group of people. PROS -Nicely portioned wraps! -They cut your orders in half, so if you are in a party of two (or more), you can definitely order a variety and swap halves - divide and conquer! -Yea, there is a bathroom here for customer use!

I love this place. They have some great salad, my favorite is the California Chicken Salad. My wife loves their Cesar Chicken Salad. It's a bit expensive, however you get a good amount. I try going at least once a week, during lunch or diner. I wish we had one a bit closer to my home.

Yay they're all open on Sundays now! Food is consistently good and the price isn't bad. I like the Chinese chicken salad with some sriracha to spice it up a bit, and a pint of broccoli soup. I like to switch it up with a side of pasta salad or the fruit too. This location is much smaller than the one in Woodland Hills and the parking lot has always been one of the worse ever. Good luck trying to get in & out of your spot. But the workers are very friendly & greet with a smile.

Good food but slow service. I ordered for pick up 30 mins ago and my order is still not ready. It took them 40 mins to get my food. They told me it will be ready in 15 mins when I placed my order. Service is very important and slow service is not acceptable. I will only come here if I'm prepared to wait and expect slow service.

  • Michael C.

Never been disappointed here, the chicken is unbelievably fresh and the salads and pasta salads are made perfection. They have a good system to preparing the orders, it's ready really fast. The lunch time is usually a bit busier then other times but still manage the rush well.

Came here for a quick lunch during break from CSUN. Was a bit difficult trying to find something that looked healthy and tasty. Ordered their Broccoli Pasta Salad, and it tasted so bland. No flavor nothing. Wasn't very enjoyable as a cold dish either. Waitress gave me the wrong order after at least 15min of waiting after I had spelled out for her and pointed 3x to the pasta in the tray I wanted. The pasta salad was already ready-made in their tray selection and simply needed to be scooped into a bowl. I kept trying to make eye contact with the employees so they can hurry up and finally got my food after 10min. There wasn't even a line. I was already really late to class. In conclusion, mediocre food where its quality is a good as something out of Ralph's deli section, if not less. Employees need to pay more attention and be more attentive to customers.

Ive been frequenting CCC's since I was in high school. 12 yrs later I still come by every once in a while. I can say their quality has gone down by alot. Particularly in this location they have messed up my order the past three times. A couple times I had to send it back. This time I couldnt because a coworker picked it up for lunch at our office. We work close to the 405 so it would be another half hour back and forth to fix it. I have a health issue which I cant eat tomatoes. And theres tomatoes in my wrap! I will attach a picture showing this also. CCC no more! You lost my business.

This is a great chain, if you are into chicken and are looking for a place with a lot of options when it comes to eating said chicken, this place is for you. The pita bread is really good, and the ingredients are always fresh. I'm a fan of the Chinese Chicken Salad at CCC, just be sure to split it in half because one serving is about two meals worth of food. If you're looking for lunch on the go, they have great wraps... again though the portions here are really huge so sharing is always an option, use it as an excuse to dine with a friend! They have a kids' menu, and there's something for even the most finicky eater. The restaurant is sort of cafeteria style... you can put tables together for a big party. It can be loud. This location is in a strip mall that includes a hair salon, nail salon, a sporting goods store and a lovely watch/jewelry repair store, so if any of your errands are on that list, you can grab lunch while you take care of business.

  • Vivian M.

I don't think there's anything truly special about the food however It's "healthy" Fresh Fast The place is really clean (which I love) 2 salsa options/lemons/a couple of hot sauces (chalula, tapatio, etc.) Overall its just convenient! I got full with only half a wrap and didn't feel hungry at all for the rest of the day (it was 6pm) which is great if you're trying to stay fit Will be back due to the convenience. Not because I love the food.

There's so much I'd like to say about this place... But I'll try to make it short and sweet. First off, if I could choose one place to eat for the rest of my life, it would definitely be California Chicken Cafe. Yeah, I know it sounds pretty extreme, but I can't express how much I enjoy eating here! The chicken is ALWAYS cooked to perfection and not once have I thought twice about eating here. It's definitely the creme de la creme of its kind! By far the tastiest rotisserie chicken I've ever had! Their salads are delicious, and their wraps are just as good. The sides they offer are AMAZING! Ranging from the chicken pasta salad to the cole slaw, each side tastes better than the next! I believe that if it weren't for the variety in sides that they have, they wouldn't get as much recognition. Although their chicken is the best, no one likes plain chicken with nothing on the side... This specific location is busy all the time! There hasn't been a single moment in time where finding seating wasn't an issue. The employees here are very friendly, and although they're always getting orders in, the food never takes too long to come out. The portion sizes are exceptional; especially the California chicken salad! I can eat... A LOT... and when I say the portions aren't bad, I mean that salad fills me up... And let me tell you, that's a rarity. Just about everything served here is delicious! Not one complaint from my end.

I think California Chicken Cafe is just great. The menu is not the most extensive but their chicken is cooked well and is always tender. They have a lot of kitchen staff and the wait for food is never longer than 5 minutes. This isn't because the food is cheap or pre-made per se as much as the timing of the staff is always right on the dot for fresh food. My go-to meal? 3 piece chicken, pita, the vegetable rice, and side of gravy. Yum !

    (5)
  • Paco C.

The best veggie wraps around. The chicken is good too. I could scarf up two wraps without blinking. Add some roasted potatoes and call it a day. The only drawback is that they're closed on Sundays.

  • Tamara M.

Yes, the food is good. I'm not going to stop coming for lunch during the work week - and once in a great while I'm starving and desperate and grab some chicken and salads for dinner. However, this place is chaos at lunch hour and trying to place an order over the phone is not easy - for me or the person on the other end. PLEASE Management - put the phone in the back, where it's quiet so the person taking my order can hear me and I don't have to repeat myself 10 times. I called ahead and still waited over 20min once I got there for my to go order today. :( Time to take a break from CCC.

"Triple C" as it's know by locals and regulars has a healthy-choice menu full of chicken salads, wraps and spinning chicken, ya know like the ones you get at Costco for $5! A small chain with locations in Santa Monica and Sherman Oaks does alright just about anywhere so they must be doing something right! If you're the kind of person who goes for rabbit food as a meal, their salad does the trick. A chicken Cesar wrap also deceivingly do the trick for lunch or dinner. Down with a cold or just down right chilly? A bowl of their soup will hit the spot. Other sides are worth trying as well. Hit the salsa bar and load up on the green stuff! It's the bee's knees. TIPS: Chicken Cafe is typically crowded for lunch and dinner service so plan ahead. Call in an order to pick up or plan on hovering over some cafeteria style tables-especially if you're in a group. This goes without saying the crowded parking lot fills up but there's plenty of parking in this area. CSUN students/staff. Show ID and get a FREE drink! QUALM: Given the space, during a crowded lunch service indoor seating can be a bit noisy. If it's a nice day snag a table out front and avoid the noise or take it to go!...This cost you a star CCC :/

I tried this for my first time while visiting friends in Northridge and I really enjoyed California Chicken Cafe. There was quiet a line when we got there for dinner, but the line moved quickly. I ordered the Primavera Wrap and my boyfriend ordered the Chinese Wrap. They'll ask you if you want white or whole-wheat pita wraps and once finished paying they'll hand you a number. The cafe gives you the option to dine in or out. Our orders didn't take long before it arrived. For a $8 wrap, you get a decent portion. My whole-wheat Primavera Wrap was cut in half and consisted of chicken, avocado, sprouts, carrots, ranch dressing, lettuce, tomato and mayo. I was full with only eating half a wrap, but I continued eating the other half anyways because it was so good. I took a bite from my boyfriend's Chinese Wrap (chicken, Chinese noodles and dressing, carrot, lettuce, tomato and mayo) and it was tasty..that's coming from a Chinese girl. Make sure you ask for the Thai dipping sauce, it makes the overall taste that much better! Overall experience here was great. Not only was it convenient to take the wraps to go, but the service was quick! If we're ever in the area again, I'll want to try the rotisserie chicken with a side.

  • Kev W.

Place gets bunged (very busy) at points, but for good reason, this place is cool! The fact that theres normally soooo many people ordering with fewer staff taking orders is the reason I didnt give it a 5. Eat healthier than the average bear providing you limit which kind of dressing your using. Remember, all well an good eating your own weight in leafy veg, but if your slopping that ranch/BBQ sauce on it like theres no tomorrow, then you may as well pop next door to visit Mr Ronald Mcdonald! We could do with more places like this; promoting healthier alternatives to the generic chain of burgers, pizzas and refried beans!

This is a great place to come when you want something healthy and lite but more than just a sandwich. The staff is always friendly, and they try their best to move the line fast. This has become my go-to place for lunch. With the heat, it's a great option because you can still function if you over eat. =)

This is my 3rd time eating here at this specific location. I love their food and the environment is clean. I always get the combo wrap and hot potatoes! I have never regretted! So this time I decided to get the primavera wrap instead, it was not as tasty to me as the combo wrap so I'll be going back to that. Hey, you can't love everything single thing on a menu. CSUN students show your ID for a free drink! :-)

  • Belen H.

This is a really great place! Love the chicken and sides. My favorite sides is the mashed potatoes and gravy, and the side ceaser salad. Croutons are made out of their pita bread so it may be a bit difficult trying to fork them. JFYI if you're a CSUN student, show your ID and get a free drink :D Only thing I do not favor is the Chicken Ceasar Salad. I could barely tell that there was any chicken. If you only have $5 you may not get much but $10 it totally worth it!

  • Yasaman J.

CCC by far has one of the best Chicken wraps I have ever had. I have tried their Chinese chicken salad as well and it is very yummy. I love the fact that they have a small salsa and sauce bar that you could go help yourself. The service is always fast and friendly considering how busy they get. One thing that I noticed at this location which I didn't like which took away a whole star is the fact that they would charge for refilling your drinks??!!! Really. That doesn't make sense. Considering howmuch restaurants make off of their drinks. Probably for every drink they sell, 90% of the price is profit.

    (4)
  • Sarah Y.

I used to eat here a lot when I attended CSUN. I always get their california chicken salad with Caesar dressing. My friend told me to try it with the balsamic dressing and omg! I got it with balsamic ever since then! They're always really packed on meal times, but the line goes by pretty fast. Their staff although looks annoyed of the busyness, they're friendly. Tip: you get free soda if you show the cashier your CSUN ID

What a disappointment CCC Northridge. We called in our order AND we were the first customers of the day. Still you make us wait 30 minutes after arriving before you even get started on making our order. Then it's made and it sits on the counter waiting to be packaged to go. We try to chat with the manager, Dennis, and he has a terrible attitude. He is dismissive and tells us that he does NOT need to give us the name of his supervisor or his number to lodge a complaint. Get it together CCC, your food is too awesome to be spoiled by terrible and slow customer service. PS-as we waited and waited another angry customer asked for a refund and left before getting her food because of the ridiculous wait. Dennis returned her money without so much as an apologetic smile. Smh

For good service in the valley this location is a great spot, I love their food. Chicken rice wrap and their chicken are my two main go to. BEST chicken place. Although I would say their meat is a litle salty :o but still bomb to eat with some wheat pita. This location is always fast and food is ready on time. Even got a small complimentary salad when I came to pick up :) Only thing I hate about this location is that the parking is terrible :( Always got to glance back at my car and hope no one hits it because the parking spaces are tiny, and they also have these ridiculous speed bumps which are so annoying! But whatever I will come here for my chicken and wraps still :)

Here's the thing. I LIVED on CCC when I was in college at UCLA. It's just a straight shot on the Big Blue Bus #8 from campus. Stop by for a yummy rotisserie chicken meal with their amazing broccoli pasta and potatoes. They had great portions, the food was decent, the price was even more decent, and you can be in and out quickly and for under 10. Sadly, these are just precious memories. The old CCC, for me, is a thing of the past. Are their tastes still consistent? Yes. Are their portions? No. Are their prices? No longer. Us starving students at UCLA used to get their 8 piece dark + 3 sides for something under $15 -- served 3 people, no problem. Walked in today for the same deal -- $24 and some change. Order a salad for greater than $11. Yikes. I just can't justify the price hike...for the food and portions. Sorry CCC, I think I'd rather head to Stonefire Grill where $9.99 will get you a half of a chicken, a salad, and 2 breadsticks. Or costco for their whole chicken @ $4.99. Or even El Pollo Loco...well you get the picture.

Food is fair, but service is abysmal. Poorly managed and completely disorganized. Waited 20 mins for my meal. And dirty dishes strewn across tables that are never bused. Shameful by comparison to other locations. And what's their excuse? It certainly isn't busy.

Love this place !!!! The food here is always prepared to taste great & fresh. I ordered the 3 piece chicken with a side of mashed potatoes & some broccoli pasta .. Let me just say I left with a very happy tummy. Can get a bit busy but it's understandable with the food tasting this great! Been coming here for years & not planning on stopping any time soon . Enjoy !

Great staff and the service is amazing. It does get fairly busy during the popular hours (e.g. Lunch and dinner). However their food is delicious and great. Ana (supervisor) is very friendly and generous. I greatly appreciate her service; she should be recognized for her great work ethics and amazing customer service.

  • Theresa G.

I really like this place because they offer healthy options. There are not too many fast food places that have this, unless you wanna be stuck with a salad. It is so good too. I always get the 1/4 chicken with broccoli soup. But if you want something even more delicious, get their mashed potatoes or their pasta. They are pretty fast too. I always call ahead, so when I get there, my order is ready :)

  • Sarina V.

Stopped by yesterday for a really quick dinner since I was hungry and didn't want to make something at home. It wasn't too busy around 7-7:30 even though it's close to CSUN. I found parking easily in there own lot, so parking definitely isn't bad, maybe on the weekdays or during a prime hour but come on it's not like you have to street park. They are busy and getting the most out of it due to CSUN. Anyways the lady helping me was really nice and the food came out really fast. They also have fresh sauce on the sides to take, BBQ & ketchup, they have a lot of other condiments, which is nice! Combo Wrap (4 stars) chicken, avocado, jack cheese, sprouts, Italian dressing, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. It's a decently stuffed wrap, the Italian dressing was good, didn't make any WOW factor, but I still enjoyed it. If I'm in a rush again and need a healthy meal I would stop by again.

The chinese chicken salad (or wrap) is wonderful. That's always my go-to here. The soups, I've found, have always been lackluster, so I tend to skip it.

    (4)
  • Ashley G.

I love the chicken grilled- I don't care much for their pita, so I always forego it- however their salad is always fresh, the wraps are always packed perfectly; the sides are great here. I love the mashed potatoes! Yum! Only complaint is seating; there's never enough. The service is quick, and the people are really nice here.

    (4)
  • Stacy S.

I always call in in my order and it really does take only 10 minutes, they have a special line so you don't have to wait when you pickup your order. The portions are always big and they don't give you the crappy part of the lettuce like other places. The restaurant is always clean with lots of available seating. The staff is super friendly and always try to give the best customer service. I like how you can watch them make your food & they're always wearing gloves. I dont complain about the prices because you do get your money worth, compared to other places....LOL

  • Grace C.

This place is always packed, but the service and food is consistently great. Love their wraps, and Chinese chicken salad. This place is perfect if you're really hungry and want something healthy and yummy to eat. Show then your Csun id to get a free drink !

  • Anna J.

Love CCC. Chicken is always juicy & delicious. My favorite is the Chinese Chicken Salad. Generous portions. Price point is average. Lots of tables inside if you decide to dine in. Clean & friendly peeps. This location is in a shopping center right in the heart of CSUN college area. Very convenient for students to dine in. The parking lot can be a pain because of the parking lot. CCC is located in a corner shopping center that gets busy at times and is difficult to get in & out from.

    (4)
  • Art T.

I am a fan of CCC, it's a great place to find food and eat healthy at a relatively decent price. the reason for 4 stars as opposed to 5 is the fact that it was dirty, tables still had plates of previous customers just sitting there after a good 10 minutes.

Pretty much a healthy joint, good salads and sides. The only thing I think can use help is the broccoli soup! Beyond bland. The gravy on the other hand is too salty.

If you're looking for a healthy place to eat out this is your new fave spot. They have yummy salads, fruit, and the chicken of course is ahhhhhmazing! I didn't feel bad indulging here. :) the employees were super sweet and helpful as well.

  • Jenna G.

I love this place! CCC was a weekly staple when I was in college and now I'll eat it as often as I can. I love the combo wrap on a wheat pita! I order mine without mayo. To make up for the loss of sauce, I add tapatio and smoked chipotle sauce. YUMMY!! Their mashed potatoes and gravy is a MUST as well. For a consistent and healthier meal CCC is the place to Be (just not on Sundays).

    (5)
  • Mike S.

get my usual chicken cesaer wrap. no tomatoes (why are there tomatoes in a cesear salad anyway) with whole wheat pita. the people working htere are on top of their game. tables are cleaned properly, parking is a bit of a hassel but all in all what we all expect from a chain

    (4)
  • Joseph Y.

I think the concept of having fresh rotisserie chicken in a salad, wrap or whole is great. I also like the idea of the fresh ingredients. What I think the issue with CCC is that everything tastes bland. I ordered the California Chicken Salad once then I orded half a chicken and all was bland. When I go out to eat and spend $12 on a lunch, I want to be wow'd, I want my taste buds to experience something extra ordinary. However, in my opinion, that is not the case with CCC. It tastes like food that I can cook at home with basic ingredients. If you are looking for a home style meal with fresh ingredients then this place is great. However, not my style. I'm giving them three stars instead of two only because they have fresh, healthy ingredients.

  • Arpi G.

One can only hope that CCC keeps opening more locations...maybe even one in downtown?!?! This place is managed very well, I have seen the owner at various locations and he's always really on top of things, as are all the employees. I love love love this place (all locations are great!) Great food, healthy, super affordable and clean. I would come to this location a few times a week while I was a student at CSUN (it does get pretty crowded, but the line moves fast) Favorite combo: 1/4 chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli pasta salad. Favorite salad: California Chicken Salad Although all items on the menu are wonderful!

    (5)
  • Peter H.

The rotisserie chicken is so reliably tender and juicy. The consistency is excellent. All the popular condiments are at the counter so you can have your chicken southern style with BBQ sauce or maybe asian with the sweet thai chili sauce. Also available are fresh lemon wedges and fresh salsa to minimize the carbs. Speaking of carbs my favorites are the chicken pasta side order and the pita bread they include with your chicken. The asian chicken salad is also pretty good and of course they use fresh roasted chicken in their salads. Wraps are the best when you want something to go and eat later. They are big, full of chicken and lettuce and taste great. Split one with a friend and you're still satisfied. Don't come on Sundays because they are closed!

  • Lili P.

California chicken salad is my go to meal here. I loooove their baked pita chips/ croutons and the whole wheat pita as an option. they are super fast in givimg me my meal and I usually order to go before I go to class so thats a plus (: They open at 11am but they usually open a little before. The staff is super friendly and the place is really clean. The only con is parking is really tight and full all the time

  • Chris S.

CCC isn't fancy, expensive. It's simple, the food is always consistent and the service prompt. If you are looking for a salad (the California with vinaigrette and Chinese Chicken are amazing), the wraps are tasty and the chicken always comes moist, flavorful and hot. The quarter chicken is enough (with a side or two) for a meal, but go with the half chicken if you are starving. This is a perfect place for lunch (and since Piology opened next door you cant actually find a tablet o sit at during lunch). There's one huge drawback though. The parking lot is (and has been for the last 30 years) a nightmare.

This place is great for what you get, healthy, quick food at cheap prices. I used to love coming here for lunch when I worked in the area. My favorite dishes are the soups and sides, as they're all fresh and flavorful. Combine a few for a meal! You won't be disappointed!

I love the California Chicken Salad - has everything I love, feta cheese, avocado, pita chips, pasta...almost doesn't need the chicken. I love how there's no stinginess when it comes to the feta or the avocado. Place is always packed so ordering ahead is definitely helpful!

Positive aspects: fresh ingredients, vegan options available, great customer service. Negative aspects: usually super busy and the flavors of the chicken are a bit bland. CCC is probably the best fast food "healthier" option available for students or people in the area. It CAN be healthy depending on what you order but the rotisserie chicken is always fresh and juicy. It is a bit bland considering flavor and seasoning, but other ingredients do make up for the lack of flavor. Broccoli cheese soup is vegan and super delicious. The chicken is served in different ways including wraps, salads, and rotisserie style pieces. My typical meal here is the wheat chicken Caesar wrap with the dressing on the side and a side of the red potatoes (definitely recommend). CCC is one of my go-to places for an on the go quick but healthy meal. It is usually super busy at every hour of the day, but the employees get you through the line quick and are super helpful in recommending items that fit your dietary needs.

I gave this place another try on the wraps they load up on too much avocado which ruins the taste but their salads and cookies are my absolute favorite. All in all I would go back and try their other items.

I've been here twice and I've had the Chinese Chicken Salad and the Combo Wrap. I love them both and feel that both items are great portions! This place is a great place for chicken and healthy alternatives. Right next to the CSUN plaza too.

I go here regularly for a quick and tasty meal. I always order chicken, hot potatoes and a garden salad. The chicken is always fresh and never dry. The hot potatoes are to die for! And the salad is crisp and fresh. I ordered take out yesterday and it wasn't ready when I got there. The lady who served me asked if I would like a cup for some water while I wait. I thought this was a lovely touch by her. The staff are always super friendly and the salsa bar is always clean! Which is very rare for a restaurant! Highly recommended for a quick, tasty and filling meal without spending a fortune

Fast, fresh, and healthy. A bit pricey for the portions, but you are getting "healthy" food.

Just had lunch at this location (déjà vu from school days). It was still busy as usual but the line flows well and quick. My food arrived within a few minutes of paying and it tasted fresh and delicious each time! I really didn't like how they were hesitant about giving me a plastic container for my leftover food and were adamant on their foils. FYI I was going back to work and had nowhere to store the food so I in fact needed the actual plastic container to keep in the car until I was done with the meeting. Otherwise, no problem with CCC.

I had school the other night and was starving after class :( It was almost 9pm and I wanted something quick and light. I stopped by CCC and it was packed. The parking lot had tons of traffic, which is actually normal for this shopping center. The inside was still swarming with college students which is pretty typical since it is right next to CSUN. I took my time to order because I wanted to try something new. Honestly, it was hard for me to pick something since I felt like they were a little pricey for salads and wraps. I opted for one of the cheaper items on the menu a Veggie Wrap ($6.50) and to my surprise it was really good, even fulfilling. The Veggie Wrap came in your choice of wheat or flour pita bread, with sprouts, carrots, tomatoes, avocado, jack cheese and Italian dressing. I have to say the wrap was pretty big . . . more like a burrito than a wrap. . . pretty big in my opinion. Like I said in my previous post . . . I feel like CCC is healthier however, I do change my mind on the whole reasonably priced aspect; I guess I can say I'm paying for quality not quantity. Tip Order for pick up . . . save yourself the trouble of waiting behind a ton of college students.

The food is good, no doubt. But wouldn't it be excellent if they got our orders correct? Three out of the last four times I've been there, they've gotten the order wrong. Especially when it's a to-go order. I've come back with an item short, an item or two incorrect. I hate to stand there, open it up, check everything.... but.... that's what I suggest. As well - the wait... ugh....

Perfect to have after the gym. Food is fresh. All the staff here is nice. I could eat the cookies for days and inject the BBQ and green sauce into my veins. -1 star for parking WHEN ITS CROWDED

Ordered the combo wrap and it was DELICIOUS! The combo wrap has chicken (duh), avocado, jack cheese, sprouts, Italian dressing, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The avocado was literally spilling out of the wrap. SO YUM. Great food for a really good price (only $8.50), and I was quite stuffed afterward.

This place was remarkably good. We came to town for just a day and I thought my wifes cousin was recommending fast food when we got there - not impressed. The food was fresh and delicious and for a good price. I'd absolutely recommend and will go back if I'm in the neighborhood again.

  • Jessica N.

So first off only come here if you're trying to eat healthy or in the mood for something healthy because if you're not one of the two the price won't be worth it to you. They give you a lot of salad for one portion. You can split it between two people. My favorite thing to order here is the Chinese chicken salad. Extremely refreshing and lightly marinated to a tee. They also give you bread with your salad so it doesn't get too mundane. Only thing I hate about going here are speed bumps you could go mountain biking on. They are huge. And whoever designed this parking lot needs to reconsider their profession. Every time I take someone here, they always say they're coming back which is great indication of the quality of their food.

I've worked for California Chicken Cafe and I got to say, the best job ever. The food is fresh and they have an amazing staff. There are times that is gets extremely busy but trust me, we really try our best to get our orders out as fast as we can. Customer satisfaction is our ultimate goal. I can't emphasize enough how much I loved my job at CCC.

Love this place so much. Gluten-free options and awesome customer service. Love how there is a CSUN student free drink option. The servers here are awesome and I'm always happy when I come here. Of course the food is fantastic and I'm happy with everything I order. I always love the Broccoli pasta and and the chicken! I will always come here no matter what!

This place is great! They have very delicious during lunchtime! And they definitely have a very delicious veggie wrap for all you plant eaters out there! So why not 5 stars? Well, honestly, if you go after 7pm, it feels like they microwave the food there, its definitely not of the same quality as their lunch time selection. But for lunch, these guys cant be beat!

  • Steph H.

This is my go to place. Sometimes twice a week. The 411 salad is amazing. I make it to fit my taste and the ranch is too die for. Probably not the healthiest option for dressing, but it's hard to resist. Great service. Great food.

Lots of parking quick and Delicious love the chicken and their potatoes! Yummy without question. Every time I go place is busy and buzzing. Lots of 20 something's could be a good place to strike up a conversation and get a # or two (close to Northridge college). One of my new go to spots when Daddy has to bring home din din!

  • Ashley L.

I LOVE this place. Their Chicken Caesar Salad with Chicken is delicious (I get this almost every time I go). I have also tried their Caesar wrap and Chinese Chicken Salad which were both delicious and everything here is healthy! The servings are kind of big and I usually only finish half and end up taking half home or sharing with someone else. There almost always a line so I suggest calling and placing an order first. I call 15-20 mins before and when I go to pick it up they have it ready. Also, if you are a CSUN student you get a drink for free when you show your CSUN ID. (free stuff is always a plus!)

  • Leo C.

If comfort food can be served healthy, fast, and delicious, then you've come to the right spot. Everything on the menu is terrific, fresh and priced reasonable. Their rotisserie chicken is succulent and juicy with just the right amount of seasoning. Better than Costco or KooKooRoos. I usually order mine as a combo meal which comes with 1 or 2 side dishes. If this is your first time here, I suggest getting the garlic, roasted potatoes and vegetable soup with your chicken. Other sides include: salads, pasta, squash, mashed potatoes, fresh fruit and steam vegetables. I love the pita bread that comes with your meal and great selection of salsa and condiments. I usually end up making a pita sandwich with chicken and roasted potatoes...drenched in salsa, it's so awesome. For those who want something more healthier and light, I suggest their salads (caesar, garden, Chinese chicken, California & vegetable) or chicken wrap. The chicken wrap is a definite must try. Served with 1 or 2 sides as well. Parking - huge lot shared with other businesses, but can be challenging to find during peak lunch and dinner hours.

I have been here a few times when visiting my husband who teaches at CSUN. It's really easy to run over and pick up food for us and bring it back to the campus. It's always packed and always delicious. The Combo Wrap is my favorite. Lots of flavor and HUGE - really filling. The chicken is always very tender and well seasoned. They also have great salads and plates. If you're in the area and looking for a quick and (sorta) healthy option - this place is great!

Best place for a quick, healthy and tasty lunch or dinner in Los Angeles. A treat for any chicken eater. This is fast food without compromising on health or quality. I mostly order the combo wrap with a fruit salad if at all. Food: 4-stars Everything on the menu, whether it's the roast chicken, salads, or wraps feel fresh and tasteful. Portion sizes are plenty which is a plus. Service: 3-stars Being fast food, they do provide exceptional service, but there is minimal interaction with anyone besides ordering your food at the counter and someone bringing it to your table. Ambience: 3-stars It's a fast food cafe with high customer churning rate. So it's a bit noisy too. My colleague who is as structural engineer, suggested that they could drown out the noise by making small and inexpensive adjustments. So if a CCC rep is looking at this review, let's talk!

CCC yum ! I have had a Very good experience at this restaurant my first time at the very busy lunch crowd time ( it's packed ), I ordered half chicken and three sides , potato, rice, pasta to go and it was awesome. so I will be returning and updating my reviews and at the same time I am giving a strong recommendation.

  • Tiffany M.

I used to love this place, but after my last experience I will never go back here!! I ordered food to go for my and I, we started eating out food, which granted is over priced, and we found chicken bones inside the wrap. I mean how careless can you be? Aside from that our order was missing 1/2 the food!!! I called in and the restaurant is quite far from my house, I told them what happened and they said I can come back to replace the food. There was no apology or anything! Insane! Thank you CCC for ruining our night!

Let's see, the one on Melrose, the one in Woodland Hills, the one on Westwood, the new one on Topanga, and of course this one. Since I have eaten at almost all of them, I think it's time to explain why I love the California Chicken Cafe so much. My #1, go to has to be the Chinese Chicken Salad, or Chinese Chicken Wrap, it depends on what I am in the mood for. Usually it's the wrap with extra chicken. Fresh Pita, crispy noodles, packed with chicken, lettuce, and dressing.(I get it with no mayo, but you can get the lowfat mayo if you are worried about calories.) Add an extra dressing, the green salsa they have at the salsa bar, and a little cup of sriracha, and this is a great meal.(yes I like spicy, haven't we figured that out yet?) My girl will get the Chinese Chicken Salad, but I have a question. I order the small order, and you charge me less, but why does it seems like you still get 10lbs of food? Ok, not a complaint, just a fact that the salads are huge. Again, side of fresh pitas which she stuffs the lettuce and chicken in, and sort of makes her own wrap, hmmm. My daughter loves the chicken Caesar salad and I can't blame her. This is my #2 favorite thing here. She has yet to finish the full, half, or any other order we get her from here, but she loves every bite. Add on a few of the cookies they have, and it's the perfect Saturday afternoon lunch or dinner.(I would have said Sunday, but this isn't one of the blessed Open Sunday locations.) The people are always friendly, but I have learned that it is best to order ahead of time, and take it home. Eating here is sometimes a drag. Since it is always packed, and the tables are set up in a long row, if you go in with 3, be prepared to be joined by someone you don't know to be your 4th. Be glad you used dial, don't you wish everyone else did???

One of the best delicious and healthy food in the San Fernando Valley. Don't get turned away from the line. Line always move quickly or you can call your order ahead. As for food, I always get the wraps. It is the best thing out there. Always consistent and fresh.

Broccoli soup is vegan and awesome! Everything is always fresh and cleanly. If you want to eat healthy, skip the frozen meats from subway, and get some real healthy food from here. All of their salads are delicious and so are their soups(and I am not a soup fan). Check this place out. My new favorite.

Tasty wraps all the way around. I normally go with the chicken caesar wrap and it's always good; the chicken is always fresh. The hot potatoes are a good side item if you are a potato person!

The first time I've ever tried it and it was amazing it was like heaven in my mouth I got the California chicken salad and It was really good it came with pasta, half an avocado, pita chips, pita bread, cottage cheese and etc. for only $11 and that's was a very good deal it's healthy and not that pricey

I would like to give this place a 5 star review, but one thing keeps me from doing so. The cashiers appears to always be in a not so friendly mood. I don't want to say that they are rude by any means, but 9/10 times, there is no smile or friendly greeting, just a "can I take your order?" I don't know why this is the case, perhaps because they are always busy and are just trying to be efficient, but a "hello with a smile" would be nice. The food: Always good and always consistent. It is fresh, hot, with plentiful servings. I like that the food is prepared right in front of you so you can see it. The menu is good too. Only negative? No caloric content available to customers. Love the chicken, the Chinese chicken salad. I usually get this. I eat here frequently and will continue to do so. The prices are good. The parking is good too.

I often went to the Nordhoff location because of it's proximity to CSUN's campus. It was a great lunch option before class began. For a long time I had just drove past it but my friend told me she had been before and suggested I try it out with her, and she definitely did me a favor. It's in the same lot as other businesses so parking is found all around and your chance of parking closer to the entrance just depends on what time you go. It gets super busy during lunch as well as later on after everyone is off work and going home, it can be frustrating at times. Inside there's many tables but again, if you come during a busy time it's going to be tough to find a seat. You might have to wait for something to open up. The line can also get pretty long during these times, so you have to really work in the wait time into your schedule (if you've got a limited time set aside before class/work/etc). I've had the Cesar salad as well as the Veggie rice wrap and they are both terrified options. The salad comes in a large bowl with dressing, cheese, and croutons (different salads probably vary). The croutons are flat instead of being your average thick ones. You also get a side of Pita bread, white or wheat, to complete the meal. It's absolutely one of my favorite things to get when I want something filling but light and on hot days when I don't feel like eating anything warm. It's also interesting to see them make the meals because everything is made to a specific measurement. Every item is measured in its own way so they never put too much of anything and you never miss out on something either. The salads are between $7-$11, depending on what type you get. The veggie rice wrap is awesome if you're looking to avoid meat but still get a filling meal. It had the perfect ingredients inside (rice, avocado, carrots, lettuce, tomato) and included ranch and mayo for flavor. Usually I'm skeptical about wraps that include ranch and mayo because there's either no trace of them when you bite into your meal or there's simply too much and it just ruins the whole thing. I've never had a problem here, they know exactly how to make their wraps. You get to choose what type of PIta bread you want , white or wheat, and they give you a perfect end result. They also offer fat free options of some of their condiments if you're trying to avoid certain things in your diet. Wraps range from $6-$9. The side dishes they have available are also worth a try. The Broccoli Pasta Salad has hearty amounts of both broccoli and pasta, so you would have to be a fan of both to enjoy it. The hot potatoes are my favorite side dish and their most popular it seems because EVERYONE seems to gravitte towards them. They are sautéed with onions and different seasonings to make them taste delicious and they're also cooked perfectly every time so you're not dealing with something that's too mushy or too hard. There's different sizes, depending on how many people plan to eat or how hungry you are. I used to get a bigger size so I could have some left over for lunch the next day. Overall this is a really good alternative for those trying to avoid the more fattening options found in the area and if you want delicious food. It's definitely become a favorite option for me. You can also call ahead and pick up, which is great if you want to get home quicker, you can avoid the long line that begins to form.

OMG!!!! What can I say? They're food is super scrumptious! I love the ceaser wrap and broccoli pasta. Sometimes the pita may be overwhelming at the tips of the wrap, meaning that sometimes you run out of chicken and salad before you get to the end of the wrap so if course you stop eating at that point. You have the option of regular or wheat pita. I ask for no mayo, light on the ceaser dressing. Sometimes the chicken may be a little dry but for the most part, it comes out just right. They add croutons to the wrap and make it crunchy. It's yum! It's usually packed so you may have to wait a minute or two to get a table. The location is always clean and the order line goes by quickly. They offer discounts to CSUN students. They have outdoor seating. The biggest bummer of all......... They don't open on Sundays!!!! Big sad face.

rudest employes!! the BBQ sauce ran out and I asked for more from an inexperienced cashier who barely spoke English. he told his manager cause I guess he didn't know what to do at a time like this and then he pointed at me and laughed I looked at his in disgust and I never got my BBQ sauce

$10 Chinese Chicken Salad - 4.5 Stars! I get the dressing on the side only because it's so rich and thick, clearly homemade though! You can see the minced garlic and herbs. This salad is truly delicious. No wilted or old romain leaves! (hate that!!!) Chicken was plentiful cut in chunks and tossed with crunchy roasted almonds and chinese noodles that made for a perfectly textured salad. The wheat pita is nice for wrapping salad in. It's almost like ordering a wrap but make it yourself! I loved this salad!

  • Gem S.

California Chicken Cafe, oh how I love your chinese chicken salad! I also tried their chicken caesar salad wrap but I still prefer the chinese chicken salad over it. This place tends to get pretty busy so it's much better to call it in and pick it up.

On a rainy night, we were in no mood to cook. CCC was the suggestion, so we ordered over the phone and off I went to pick it up. The person on the phone was friendly and very professional. I ordered the chinese Chicken Wrap, which has the crunchy noodles inside. The wrap alone was enough to satisfy my hunger, so I wasn't too full when done. The wrap has a chinese dressing, which was pretty good, otherwise I can imagine the wrap to be a bit dry with just veggies, chicken and crunchy noodles. When I arrived to pick up the order, stood in the "phone order pick-up" line so I didn't have to wait in the "other" line :-) When I asked for an extra cup of dressing (cuz one just aint enough for me), I didn't get the stank eye. Just smiles and thank you's.

This place was very crowded when I went. The food is above average. It was a solid B. Price was under $10 a meal, above $5. I could have gone for a less expensive establishment but it would have been less healthy. Health is worth the price.

Great place if you wanna pick up something more on the healthier side. Lunch rush is a bit crazy so I suggest ordering your food by phone beforehand. It will save you a lot of time. Their wraps are filling and tasty! You can also ask for fat free mayo if that's your thing and don't forget the green onions!

Love this place, I've been coming here since they opened but had moved out of the area. I'm back in Northridge and went back this week. I have to say that the service is still excellent and the salads are always fresh and chicken is on point. ;) The customer service is friendly and professional. My favorite salad to order is the Chinese chicken salad.

This time we had a big and juicy rotisserie half-chicken that came piping hot and seasoned to perfection. Steamy and creamy savory mashed potatoes and gravy with a fresh and colorful Chinese cabbage salad that is made a touch on the sweet side to balance out the vinegar plus it has a great crunch thanks to the almond bits.

Love this place, especially their veggie rice primavera, hot potatoes, and chicken pasta salad. The 3 piece chicken kinda looks more like a 2 piece chicken and the place can get pretty crowded during lunch time! Overall, great place to eat!

While the food is great, picking up an order you placed over the phone isn't a great experience. They do have a dedicated section for picking up orders placed over the phone but it closes at a certain time. If you arrive with your order place over the phone and that section of registers (two) is closed, you'll have to wait in line as people order their food. See your Order ready to go on the counter in front of you? Great, but you'll have to wait while people decide what they want to eat before you can pay for it and leave. The last time I ordered on the phone the "closed" pick-up area had two people at the registers doing something. See someone at the main registers waiting for a customer to pay and your order was ready way in advance? Too bad, you'll need to wait in the food line. This can take around 5 or more minutes. This is unacceptable. Not only should the pick-up registers always be open during business hours but you should also be able to place your order online. This is 2015, take note from Chipotle. Not only can you order online but you can go right to the register to pick up your food at anytime during the hours it's open.

absolutely love CCC recent two visits were for dine in and a catering pick up (two separate visits) the dine in was great, easy/fast ordering, good salsas, good customization i love the Chinese noodles in my wraps for the crunch; unfortunate they forgot to add it to my wrap on this visit, so i just asked a manager for some on the side and she was very happy to help and gave me a bowl! awesome! got to munch on my favorites lol they are huge wraps and my girlfriend ordered the salad which was also huge! great fresh simple taste too the ONLY things i have to not really complain on, more so comment on, for the salad that its like $3 for chicken, you would think the salads automatically had chicken being "California Chicken Cafe"...oh well no biggie next visit came in to pick up a huge catering order they have awesome catering service, great prices, great selection and options,a nd great flexibility on what we can ordered! we ordered 3 trays of wraps, veggie, original, and caesar, each coming in white and wheat pitas, all stuffed and huge wraps for the filling! we also ordered the hot potatoes, hot delicious savory and great onions the rice, i did not actually try, and a california salad, filled with avocado, chicken and more! they also put he pita chips and dressing on the side, great to add your own! happy to have CCC right by CSUN, love this place!

I LOVE this place for lunch. It is just minutes from my work, and everything I have had on their menu is delicious. A co-worker introduced me to them, and I have been an avid customer ever since. Everything is super fresh, which I really appreciate. It's a nice alternative to fried, greasy, over processed food that is typically found elsewhere. Their Combo Wrap on a whole wheat wrap, the california chicken salad, and the chicken pasta salad are my favorites. The Chicken Pasta Salad is made of chicken, and pasta tossed in thousand island - probably the worst thing health wise on their menu, but great as a side. The salads are huge! The portions are generous, the service is quick, prices are a bit high on some of the items, but quality makes up for it. I have only been to their Northridge location, but would be open to trying some of the other spots. Downfalls are that they are not open on Sunday's, it's very close to CSUN so their are lots of students, and the parking at lunch time is horrendous.

Yummy, healthy food and reasonably priced. I usually get the dark meat special with hot potatoes and chicken pasta good for two people. Their wraps and salads are good as well. I wish they would open on Sundays like some of the other locations.

I had a salad, which was good. Service was fine, but it seemed to take a while considering it wasn't that busy. The only strange thing was the person I placed my order with had absolutely no idea what kind of lettuce was in the salad. Really?

Do you wanna go to a place that has fresh, healthy, and delicious food? Well you definitely have come to the right place. I found out about this place because it literally right next to my school. I usually get the chicken (protein guy), the three piece of 1/4 chicken and a side. The chicken is always juicy (because it is slowly roasted). The salads are always very good. I particularly like the California Chicken Salad and the Chinese Chicken Salad. For me, what makes this place stand out even more is their sauce, specifically the green sauce. I'm not 100% sure what it's made out of (I need to ask), but I believe there are green tomatoes among other ingredients. I use it for the chicken and even the hot potatoes, my side order. I come here about twice a week and cannot wait every time I go. Hope you enjoy!

Live here 7 years and can walk to this place. Tried it for the first time today. Wow... Are they great! Had the combo wrap on whole wheat pita & the broccoli pasta side. Lots of food. Ate half for lunch, finished the rest for dinner. Great healthy food. Will be back soon :)

Juiciest chicken ever. Pita was meh. The side we got were broccoli pasta ( good eats), mashed potatoes ( gravy was tasty$), and hot potatoes ( must order). We got a meal to go, called in and picked up. Bypassed the huge dinner rush. Now we have left overs for tomorrow.

If you're on the go, having lunch, or trying to find a place to meet a friend to catch up and enjoy a meal at the same time you've definitely find a good spot for all of thee above. The have tons of seating so you won't run into an issue there, UNLESS it's during rush hour 12-1. Which any place you go to you'll run into this issue. Their selection ranges from entree plates to appetizers and a lot of options in between from wraps to salads. My wife typically goes with the half chicken with cole slaw, and I stick with my wrap. Your options don't just finish there, you still need to select your condiments. They offer a variety from salsa, to dipping sauce. Me personally with my wrap I enjoy the fresh tomatoes with bbq sauce slapped onto top of my wrap. The wife enjoys bbq sauce with her chicken, I've tried it myself and it's not bad. This place is definitely worth a try, and their service is efficient and fast (during rush hour I still received my food within 10-15 minutes.

I'm a bit addicted to the California Chicken Cafe. The food is delicious, fresh and healthy (for the most part). My favorite is the Combo Wrap (roasted chicken, jack cheese, sprouts, guacamole, lettuce and Italian dressing wrapped in a wheat pita). The California Chicken Salad is really good as well. They give a generous amount of chicken in the salad. The feta cheese and avocado adds deliciousness to the salad. It's quite filling and satisfying for a salad. I love their balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The rotisserie chicken is tender and juicy. Goes well with the hummus and pita bread. The hot potatoes (side dish) is yummy. They gave us an extra helping of potatoes for free :) I'm so glad that they're now open on Sundays. It does get crowded around lunch time, but service is pretty fast. Everytime I come here I eye the cookies by the register. One day I will buy it!

I don't come here very often, but when I get the craving to eat something relatively healthy and delicious, I always come to the Cali Chicken Cafe! My mom and I walked here from LA Fitness after an intense work out because I figured I deserved to refuel :D hehehehe My mom said I could order whatever I wanted, soooo.. I got whole chicken + hot potatoes + broccoli pasta salad, and a regular Caesar salad. - whole chicken ($11): I love rotisserie chicken, but it's expensive :[ My mom said we're gonna go get it from Costco next time ($5) and get the side dishes only haha - hot potatoes: most popular side dish and rightly so! I love the seasoning and the grilled onions! - broccoli pasta salad: got this instead of the other pasta salad (thousand island dressing made it too sweet). The broccoli pasta salad was light and fresh. - Caesar salad: it's so freaking good. Pita chips instead of croutons, and the size is pretty dang big. Basically, just rip up the chicken pieces, put it in the pita bread with some salad and salsa, and you're good to go! The salsa bar is pretty nice. Fresh salsa = yummy :] Also, lots of other sauces to choose from: ketchup, bbq, sweet chili sauce, tabasco, etc. AND you can also choose between regular and wheat pita bread! SO MUCH HEALTHINESS hahaha P.S. we got overcharged $2 for the salad, I guess, and we didn't realize it. While we were waiting for the food to come out, the cashier came up to us, apologizing for the inconvenience and gave up our $2 back lol My mom and I were a little confused but thanked her nonetheless. Thumbs up for service!

When I want to eat fresh and healthy, CCC is the first thing that comes to mind in the San Fernando Valley (SFV). Food: 1) Chinese Chicken salad - This is my favorite salad! The salads are so big that if you'll probably get your daily caloric intake from one salad, so if you're trying to lose weight, you might want to ration the salads. 2) Rotisserie chicken - The chicken itself isn't the best, but it's tender and there are a large number of sauces and salsas you can use to make your dish delicious. 3) Chinese chicken wraps - much smaller portion. I'd rather get the salad, but if I'm on the go, this is what I usually get. Sides: 1) Chicken pasta Salad - sooooo goood! A very good side for the chicken plate. 2) Hot potatoes - potatoes are seasoned and served with grilled onions. yumm.. one of the more popular sides. 3) Rice primavera - pretty bland, but it goes well if you order it with chicken and you make your own wrap with the pita provided.

Stopped by the other day and ordered a Chinese Chicken Salad with a side of Hot Potatoes. Nothing to complain about with the store, the employees, the condiments in the corner and the food itself. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is there is always a line to order (which moves at a good pace), and there are times when there is nowhere to sit. Being situated in the valley, there is no way you would sit outside to eat in the summer (because its always almost 100 degrees outside). Plenty of parking and food does come out really quick. Prices may be a bit higher than you expect, but this place is worth a visit.

The short of it - near CSUN - lots of healthy options: salads, wraps, chicken - reasonably priced - very busy, AC doesn't work well - Favs: California chicken salad The long of it: CCC is a unique healthy cafe. They have salads, wraps, and rotisserie chicken. I can see why this is a popular spot for the college kids. They give you a good amount of food and its much better than fast food places plus its "fast" healthy food. I ordered the California chicken salad and it was a mix of lots of things: lettuce, chicken, rotini pasta, feta cheese, broccoli, avocado, pita chips, etc. Lots of ingredients helps make this salad far from boring. The salad is huge too! Definitely good for sharing. I also tried the rotisserie chicken which was pretty good. You can add rotisserie chicken to your 411 salad (make your own) for $2, which is a decent price. When I came here it was very busy and they weren't cleaning the tables regularly so there were a lot of empty tables with dirty dishes. Also, the AC was not working very well, it felt quite warm inside. Overall, good food, however, I would probably prefer to take my food to go next time.

My brother told me about this spot and I really like it. It's family-style. You order the sides and a chicken to share. Kind of like Stone Fire Grill but less expensive, less claustrophobic, less fancy. :-) Order at the counter and pick up your food. Nice place to catch quick eats with the fam.

So I would rate this location, just down the street from Cal State Northridge as a 3.5, although today it was closer to a 4. They seem to have some consistency problems at times, hence the adjusted rating. When it's good you can get cravings for this place, when it's off, you may not want to see it for a while. I got the combo wrap on wheat and my buddy got the chicken Cesar salad add tomato. I like to add one of their fresh sauces to spice up the wrap just a bit as it can be bland at times. They were both fresh and well prepared and did not take too long. I also got the side of oven roasted potatoes with onion, peppery, not too oily and piping hot, they were great today. This place gets slammed at lunch and dinner due to the college crowd. The parking can be a pain too, but this place delivers a nice product when fast food won't due and you don't have time for a regular sit down. The two of us got a healthy satisfying meal for $8.50 each( no drinks). Overall a place worth your business.

Brittany was very helpful because despite advice from fellow yelpers Jamie and Alan, I was not sure what too order. Ended up with Chinese chicken salad substituting fresh chicken breast. I was quite pleased my salad. It was a great size and quite filling. The dressing is tasty, but I suggest getting it on the side because they give you a lot. The wonderful aroma and sight of the roasting chickens nearly got me! I almost ordered a whole one. It was packed in there but I noticed the orders coming out rather quickly. Staff is nice and prices are quite reasonable for the freshness. I will be back.

Been meaning to come here after skimming over many rave reviews. It was good but nothing so amazing. I've had 3 different wraps so far and the ingredients seem wonderfully fresh but I'm not sure it's really worth the price. The mashed potatoes are awesome though!

Well, I came here to grab some food for the family on my way from work. I heard good things about the food but when I walked in, I really didn't like the atmosphere but I still decided to give it a try. The place was really busy but still wasn't so bad. I ordered the chicken wraps. None of them tasted good to me. Well, it wasn't the worst thing but it was close to disgusting after the first two bites. The sauce they used in the wraps kind of made it too sweet sour taste which is kind of gross and their chicken pasta had it as well. So, I am assuming that it is their signature sauce and they put it on everything? But I know I don't like the same taste on everything. Would not recommend but you can still go to try it because everyone has different taste.

This place is always crowded when I come here. There tends to be a bit of a wait for your food because of the crowd, but it's worth it. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but everything I've had is good--and healthier than food at other restaurants! My bf and I always stick to getting the Chinese Chicken Salad, and then either a wrap (Caesar Wrap or Primavera Wrap) or chicken with sides. I've also had the California Chicken Salad. Everything tastes fresh and delicious.

Damn, I never knew a chicken salad could taste sooo good! Went here for the first time with a friend during lunch hour, and I wasn't expecting much out of the place. Don't get me wrong, it was busy and the food looked good, but who ever said they got stuffed on a salad and was the best thing they ever had this week? I went out on a limb and got the $10 Chicken Salad, while thinking to myself, "This better be good." And boy, it was! First, the salad was fresh, none of this wilted crap. They give you 1/2 an avocado which I love, a ton of feta cheese, fresh chicken, tortilla chips, and your own dressing (balsamic vinaigrette for me). And it was HUGE! I couldn't finish it but couldn't stop eating because it was so good! It also comes with a pita which is handy. Delicious!

  • Angelie D.

This place as pretty busy when I went here. That only has to show that this place must be good! I ordered the 1/4 chicken with two sides. The chicken pasta salad and the vegetable rice. The leg and thigh of the chicken was moist and juicy. They lightly seasoned their chicken which brings out a lot of flavor to the chicken itself. The sides were BOMB! I enjoyed the lightly dressed chicken pasta salad. The thousand island dressing made the side dish creamy and slightly tangy. The vegetable rice was pretty good too. They have a small salsa bar on the corner if you want to add more flavor to your dish. I enjoyed the chicken all by itself! Fast service, great food, TOTALLY convenient!

I love CCC. It's as simple as that. I crave it, I order it, I eat it and I love it. If you disagree with me, I don't care, just one less person taking my place in line. Oh yeah, I never wait in line because they have the best phone ordering/takeout system. Cheers to you CCC!

This is a great place to come with friends or with a family.....or just by your self. It's really nice inside, great use of wood. You order your food in the front and then go find a table u want to sit at. I went with my family they loved it too. I asked what they recommended. I got the Primavera wrap with the hot chicken. And the veggie soup with Jack cheese, a little to much cheese found my self almost chocking on it. The food filled me up a lot. After eating you can get a snow cone, it's included in your meal. The staff were very nice and helpful. They came and gave us the food and said enjoy, thank you, and etc. The chicken is cooked really well, it's really juicy and tasty. All of that and free wifi. I would definitely come back!

Always busy during lunch time but the food is great. You are paying for fresh produce and good food overall. Plus it is nice that they serve real mashed potatoes. Have yet to be let down from this place.

Yes, obviously I am a fan. I have been to 4 different locations and I would say that I found almost the same quality for the food. The difference is the waiting time and the friendliness of the staff. 411 menu is one of my favorite. Although I prefer the rotisserie chicken, but there's gonna be an additional $2 charge for that 411 menu. I bought dark meat rotisserie a few times. Like it too. Yum yum.

I am so totally craving their chicken caesar salad now. Their food is so good and tastes so healthy that I don't mind driving here from a far away land just to eat their salads. Their prices are kinda steep but their salads are huge. I ordered a 'small' salad once, since I was not that hungry, and was presented with a ginormous plate. Their salads are big enough for lunch and dinner. It is like two meals in one which is very economical for college students on a budget. My brother usually gets their wraps which I find unnecessary since it costs just as much as a salad but has a smaller portion of filling in it. The salads come with two pieces of pita and I am more than happy to make myself a chicken caesar burrito. I love this place. Next time I gotta try those potatoes and broccoli soup.

This restaurant is awesome. The staff is extremely friendly and appears to be genuinely interested in working there and talking to customers. The service is prompt and you won't have to wait much for your order even though this place is usually packed. The food is delicious though a bit pricy. I always get the wraps! They are huge, tasty, and filling.

Consistent and delicious lunch spot near CSUN. Flavorful and moist rotisserie chicken, delicious chinese chicken salad, and great salsa bar with lots of hot sauce options (+1 star!). Love the broccoli soup. 60 calories for a large bowl and super filling!

I hate any salad! I feel like a rabbit. but not California Chicken Cafe's Chinese chicken salad! It is so fresh and delicious! and their rotisserie chicken?! Sooo good! tender and juicy! and I like how they have "real" big ceramic plates and good quality stainless steel utensils. warning: it gets really crowded during lunch. I did not give it a 5 star due to yesterday's incident. I had salad and chicken to-go, and they forgot my salad's integral ingredient, "THE DRESSING"!!! OMG! I couldn't eat my salad without it, so I had to go back, wasted my gas, mileage and my precious time! upsetting! made me really angry! but overall, food is really good!

This is by far the greatest restaurant I have ever found! Both their salads and wraps are amazing and have great taste. Everything in here is fresh and although this location is super busy they always have my food ready within 10min when I order by phone. The staff is super nice and most importantly, clean. I would recommend this to anyone diet or not.

I love CCC! It is one of my favorite places to eat in the valley especially because it is HEALTHY! I usually get chicken breast with white meat which is $1.50 extra, but it is worth it since it is healthier. There is a good amount of seating inside and there is PLENTY of parking. Food is reasonably priced. It is super busy during lunch and dinner hours so be prepared to wait in line and wait for your food. I will always come here when I am home in the valley for my healthy fixe! :)

  • West S.

Mainly, the only complaint we have about this place is the wait which isn't such a bad thing. So, we resort to calling our order in. I can recall once or twice the order wasn't exactly right. Pita was missing or they misheard my order and lettuce was a little wilted (over a year ago). Other than that, tasty, healthier food options. Got to love that. If I could eat their CCC salad everyday, I would. Seriously. Salad fans pick the CCC chicken salad, it is huge and worthy of $10! PS this parking lot is a beast to get in and out of during rush hour.

Never have I had a bad experience here. They'r always busy and usually manage to be quick. The food is freshly made and so yummy. I always get the veggie wrap with potatoes but have tried they'r Caesar salad and soups and fruit. I can't really input on the chicken but Would recommend!

Talk about healthy and delicious! CCC is all chicken and deliciousness. I don't even like chicken! They have a great variety of sandwiches and salads. I highly recommend the combo wrap and the Chinese chicken salad. My parents even like this place and they're usually not chicken eaters. CCC provides sides that are healthy and very tasty as well. Their prices are fair. I would recommend calling in the order and picking it up as they get super busy. I'd eat here everyday if I can.

  • Julie L.

My first impression was, "It's a must-try at least once while I'm here in Northridge. It's always packed and they give free drinks to all CSUN students and staff." I always pass by CCC on the way to school and my gosh this place is always swarming with students, business people, and locals. I walked in one day to order the popular-on-yelp item: the combo wrap. I got it to go because there was no way I was going to find a seat, and like it was recommended, I asked for dressing on the side so that my vegetables wouldn't get soggy when I got home. Pros: it's close to CSUN, free drinks, the ingredients definitely tasted fresh, healthy (depends). Cons: the price for a wrap, flimsy service, crowded. There are some places I would wait for hours if I knew I'd be rewarded something amazing. But I'm sorry CCC the wrap just didn't cut it for me. The chicken was a bit dry and with so many greek choices nearby with the similar pita wrap concept, I think I'll probably pass. I think the portions of their salads are outrageous, but the combo wrap is smaller in real-life than these pictures may imply. The lasting impression? "Something still wants me to come back and try the salads and sides. It'll get one more chance to impress me!"

California Chicken Cafe seems to be a pretty affordable place to grab a quick order of rotisserie-style chicken for relatively cheap. We came here for lunch today and it was packed. The line moved pretty quickly though. Since it seemed a bit congested, we got our order to-go. Seems like most of the ratings are saying that they aren't very consistent. Luckily, our experience ended on the better side of the scale today and here's hoping that when I do return, I get lucky again or they retain consistency. I debated between getting a wrap or an order of chicken, but in the end, I went ahead and ordered the 1/2 chicken with a side of mashed potatoes. Everything came out to be about $8. And I have no regrets. Our food was brought to us promptly and we went elsewhere to enjoy our food. Everything was neatly packed; the chicken and pita bread that comes included placed in a box, along with the mashed potatoes, and the gravy separately packaged in a small container. The mashed potatoes were a bit underwhelming but the chicken, was absolutely divine. Tasty, fresh, perfectly cooked. I will be back again, and I already know what I want to order --- the Chinese Chicken Wrap. I'll include an update momentarily within the next couple of weeks most likely. Note: CSUN students with an ID can get a free drink with their order.

We went to California Chicken Cafe last night to get some suppa. Supposedly excellent rotisserie chicken. The place is located in a strip mall, so the parking isn't that great. Especially, when Cal State Northridge is in session. Thankfully the uni is in summer session, so the crowds I was anticipating wouldn't be that bad, that's why we came, poor assumption. The parking is absolutely nutters, definitely a major issue. However, even tho the spring term at the uni was over, the restaurant was rather crowded. Rotisserie chicken jus seems like a morbid ferris wheel for chicken. It's a very scary piece of machinery. We will take a chicken, impail it, than roate it and I'll be damn if I'm not hungry, because spinning chicken carcasses make me mouth water. Although the parking situation is less than be desired, it's absolute chaos, a complete lack of organization. It's a bloody free-for-all, wiv people usually driving in the opposite direction, trying to maneuver throughout the parking lot. It definitely reminds me of back home in Australia, where we drive on the "left". So it's something that I've certainly experienced growing up. I selected the half chicken, wiv all white meat and two sides, well I reckon that was me order, Adriana ordered the Chinese chicken salad, for herself. For the sides I got both the broccoli soup and squash. I reckon my order was plenty of food for the both of us. We ordered our food to go home, so we didn't have to scramble for a place to sit and eat. The chicken was incredibly moist, and quite delish. Absolutely amazing. Quite healthy, "fast food?" I reckon I still consider it more food on the go, IMHO, ok, but definitely not bad, healthy, and quite yummy. The soup was out of this world! Holy hell, it's rich, creamy and vegan, really not that fattening at all, I think? However, wiv me, you can put broccoli on anything, or into anything and I'll eat it. The squash was a wee bit to soggy for me liking. I would've liked it wiv some more texture and bite to it. Adriana's salad was absolutely perfect! The lettuce was crisp, not all wilted and the chicken was chunky and moist, incredible. Their homemade Chinese dressing is absolutely righteous. The food was excellent, and I know the parking's ludicrous failure, isn't a reflection of CCC.

Food is always good, love the California Chicken Salad, fresh fruit salad, and dairy-free broccoli soup. Subtract one star for always getting the order wrong, whether it is forgetting to keep the dressing off the side to forgetting items in a takeout order.

California Chicken Cafe is about as good as healthy food gets in Northridge. It's definitely no fast food joint, but for college students, it's a great healthy meal near campus. I have been here numerous times because of their great service, meals and atmosphere. I bring everyone here to experience CCC because it's just that good. I have tried an array of meals here. I love the combo wrap or just a simple classic wrap, or a caesar salad. I absolutely love the mix of vegetables and their fresh, juicy chicken. I also love the pita they use to wrap the wraps. Just lovely. And as for sides, their mashed potatoes are perfect texture and melt in your mouth. My personal favorite though is the broccoli pasta salad. I normally hate uncooked broccoli, but it tastes WONDERFUL mixed with rottini. They also provide sriracha, tapatio, olive oil, vinegar, salsas and more to add to your entrees to spice it up. I love their mixture of sauces and ingredients. It clearly makes every meal here memorable. The atmosphere is just simple high top tables or small tables connected together. It can get really busy anytime around noon so I suggest ordering it by phone and picking it up unless you want to wait around 25 minutes for your food. Which I have before... that's my dedication. Oh and for you CSUN students, you get a free drink with the show of your Student ID. Their prices are very reasonable too, I am just so unorganized in this review. It's around 7-10$ per wrap or salad and the sides are around 2-7$ depending on the size you get. Totally reasonable on a college students salary. Please visit and check it out! It won't disappoint.

This is a great place to be healthy and enjoy a good wrap or salad. All wraps are great especially the combo wrap (my favorite). The Chinese chicken or the House salad with chicken are both great. The chicken is slow roasted and tender. This is a place I always go to if I'm near.

i would never have eaten here being a vegetarian, but I did and WOW! absolutely yummy Veggie Wrap! I added a little balsamic but that is it. From what I have seen of the non-vegetarian items, they look great too. Fast, friendly service makes this a 5-star find. Also parking is easy.

Mmmm.. Chinese Chicken Salad. The portion was out of control HUGE but it was definitely worth the price. Everything in the salad was fresh and their wheat pita bread went really well with the salad. If you're looking for a light salad for lunch, I would definitely share a salad with a friend. Seriously. The salad is HUGE!

Came in with my sister for early dinner, before getting to the restaurant she did advise we order but I said nahh its early shouldn't be that much of a wait! Boy was I wrong!!! It was extremely busy but the line to get our order wasn't that bad. The wait was a lot longer but that is because we had a BIG order to go. This place was packed people coming in and out all of the time and my sister kept telling me its worth it, so I wasn't complaining. Got our food, went home, away from the mayhem that was going on (a fight was about to start with a jr. and an adult.) that's how long I was there too see all of that. WHOA!! The food was soooo good!!!! The chicken was fresh, the salads, and the pita delicious! I LOVED their little red potatoes with the grilled onions OMGEEEE they were sooo good!! The food deserves a 5 star for sure! I would probably time myself as to when the best time would be to go in and eat a the restaurant. It's cool that the staff goes up to the customers waiting to give them their orders instead of shouting out numbers. Would most def go back and keep checking out their food, its all healthy MAJOR plus!!

Love this place!! The potatoes are amazing! Chicken Cesar salad is my favorite. I always get the small salad because it is huge! Peta bread is amazing as well. I just wish it wasn't right next to CSUN! It is busy all the time and the parking isn't the best, but overall amazing place to eat.

The Chicken Cafe is seriously one of my favorite places to eat on the planet. I frequent this location as well as the one in Woodland Hills so i'm at these restaurants a lot and i wouldn't have it any other way. If you're on the fence about what to get i would seriously recommend a combo wrap and get with it a cup of balsamic vinegar and a cup of sriracha. At the table, pour a bit of each on/into the wrap with each bite and you'll be in heaven... trust me, you won't regret it.

I'm sorry this place is a rip off. You get served the same pre cooked chicken you could buy at Ralph's for way less and tastes exactly the same. There is nothing special about the food here. Mediocre food at luxury prices.

Well, I came to this place during lunch time and it was pretty pretty busy. Their were a lot of college kids that were in here, maybe due to the fact it's close to csun. Anyways so I ordered a chicken wrap And a large drink. Got my number and I sat at the table and waiting for them to bring my chicken wrap. When it arrives, the chicken wrap it was full of mayonnaise I mean it was just a mayonnaise wrap not a chicken wrap. That wrap was nasty. The meal my brother and mother got didn't look too bad. I believe they ordered a half a chicken or something. Bottom line not a bad place but just don't get the chicken wrap just order the quarter or half a chicken.

Taking off places on your bookmarks is like accomplishing something amazing... the fact that I would compare those to is actually more amazing in itself! So Joe and I ventured to California Chicken Cafe for round 2 of Valentine's Day - it was casual, sweats day this time. We were glad to find out that Yelpers didn't let us down this time! The place was packed full of people - students, people on their lunch break, you name it... so we took that as a good sign. The restaurant is extremely similar to a Panera Bread in that you order, they give you a number, and they bring it to you. The menu also reminds me of PB because they offer only whole chicken, half chicken, 1/4 chicken (all with sides), salads, and wraps. It's not too extensive but that's a good thing for me. I ordered the Chinese Wrap. Inside of it was chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and fried noodle strips with a light Chinese dressing on whole weat pita. It was REALLY good! The crunch of the fried noodle strips made it ten times better. The sauce was light and delicious. Joe ordered the 1/4 Chicken White with a side of pasta salad. I didn't think the chicken would be as juicy and tender as it was but I was certainly surprised. When I took a bite of it, it wasn't dry at all. It was downright yummy...especially the skin, which I know isn't something good to eat. The pasta salad was your typical pasta salad - broccoli, chicken, in a thousand-island dressing. Another plus is that they have tons of sauces on a condiment table for you to dip your chicken in - BBQ sauce, ketchup, sriracha, Asian sweet chili sauce, Tabasco, Cholula... yeah I'm going on and on but there really is that many! I'd recommend people coming here, especially with its great deals and laid back cafe-like atmosphere.

I usually get the 1/2 white chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and the hot potatoes. The food tastes great and is full of flavor. They are usually packed at lunch and dinner. Would give 5stsrs if it was cheaper. I pay$14

Great choices of salads!! Healthy-ish, proportions of enormous size, and a community style dining area. Best summer lunch/dinner you could ask for! My favorites are the Chinese Chicken Salad and Veggie Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette !

I suppose this is a great place for a salad even though is a primarily a rotassarie chicken place. They give you big portions. My only gripe is their prices. They can be expensive. I was gonna just give this place 3 stars for my money but she said their salad was amazing so bump bump 4 stars.

Nice, healthy option around the area. Just like all other California Chicken Cafes. I love the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap. The toasted pita bread makes for some tasty, crunchy croutons. You can also ask for low-cal Caesar dressing without losing too much of the flavor. The Broccoli Pasta Salad is my favorite side... yum. Portions are huge. Salads are ginormous and my wrap always lasts for two meals. Their pita bread isn't too fabulous - wish it was actually fresh baked. Don't get why this chain is never open on Sundays! Lame!

  • Elaine H.

I have to say this one of my favorite eateries partially because Csun students get a free drink here and it's affordable for students like us. And for the price of it, the portions are huge and it's delicious! The 8 piece dark meat special and the California chicken salad with balsamic without the chicken is what I always order but the classic Caesar is delicious too! parking there is NOT fun, but it's a huge lot so there's plenty of space. And most people double park. I probably would recommend it because it's really tight...and it's hard to see the markings. But yesss!! My fav place to eat when I want something healthy :)

CCC has got to be one of my favorite places to eat. I come here, at a minimum, 3 times a week since it is practically on campus as CSUN. I am quite health conscious and when it comes to eating out I get rather hesitant. However, this place changes the game. My favorite has got to be the half chicken, all white, skinless with a side of that chinese cabbage salad. Everyone says chicken is chicke NO! this place brings their chicken from jesus' ranch in heaven! I mean, the meat is fibrous and juicy! I have also gotten the chinese chicken salad with my own take on it, I usually take the mandrins out, but that is just me, i don't like fruits in my salad. The atmosphere is really nice as well: large dining area, modern design, and well-lit.

This place is the BOMB BIZZLE FOR SHIZZLE! And apparently it's kinda healthy too. I love the Chinese chicken salad, the Chinese chicken wrap, the Caesar wrap, the potatoes, the pasta salads, the _________(fill in the blank). Not pocket busting, and very filling. I usually leave uncomfortably stuffed or with a to go box. But ... and I mean BUT... for some reason I haven't gotten their hours down, for they are closed at the most hungry times on the weekend or evening for me. Check the times first if you're going for dinner (and sunday I think)...

my brother said "hey lets go to CCC".. i told him I've never heard of CCC. he seemed a little shocked. "ok we're going then" CCC stands for california chicken cafe, with 7 locations in LA area. They serve rotisserie chicken by itself, in the form of wraps, or in a salad. I got the chinese chicken salad ($9.00). Oh my goodness this salad was 3 meals for me. I give mad props to anyone that can finish this beastly thing. Not only was the salad HUGE, it came with 2 slices of pita bread (whole wheat or white). It was DELICIOUS. man, when you're craving for a salad, this would really hit the spot! I wish i had known earlier that you can choose your own dressing.. cuz I would have not only chosen a different dressing, but I would have asked for it on the side because more than likely you will NOT finish your salad! Plus, mine was soaked in dressing so I had to ask them to add a little bit of lettuce to mine. they were SUPER nice about it and retossed the salad for me :) My brother got the combo wrap ($7.75) which was pretty good portioned, but nothing like my salad. It came with chicken, guac, jack cheese, sprouts, italian dressing, lettuce, tomato and FAT FREE mayo :). also the choice of white or wheat wrap. looks like most people get the wrap or salad here. Or share a salad and wrap between 2 people. it got pretty packed for dinner, many people ordered for pick-up.. or else waited patiently for thier food like we did! :)

This place is a decent go-to spot if you'd rather not go to a place that serves everything with a side of grease. I think it's a bit overpriced for what it is, kind of like panera, but it's not bad at all. I usually get the caesar wrap, I tried the combo wrap last time and didn't like it as much, so I'd probably just stick the caesar. And of course, you can never go wrong with the infamous hot potatoes. So delicious!

  • Judith D.

very delicious.. get the chicken cesar wrap with the broccoli soup. average price for what you're getting. & did I mention very healthy options. a must try place.

I ordered the 3 piece chicken (2 leg, 1 thigh) combo with two sides for $8.25 + tax. I ordered the vegetable soup and potatoes for my sides. The vegetable soup was great because it was cold outside when I went. The potatoes, were AMAZING. I personally don't like onions and they put onions in the potatoes but they were AMAZING. you couldn't taste the onions at all, and the spices they added into the potatoes were just delicious! The potatoes are definitely a MUST TRY! The chicken was okay a little bland but they have salsa you can add on it. OH yah they include pita bread in the combo as well which is probably best with salsa. I like to put the chicken and salsa into the pita to make it delicious!

  • Roger M.

I've only tried the wraps at CCC, the Classic Wrap, Combo Wrap and Caesar Wrap. They are all really good but I'd go for the Combo since it's a bit tastier compared to the Classic in my opinion. I've also had the hot potatoes, which is CCC's most popular side dish I think. The hot potatoes description from their menu: "red potatoes sautéed with onions, garlic, and seasonings." The wraps are very satisfying but I've got to try the rotisserie chicken next time I go.

Everything here tastes fresh and yummy. Perfect for lunch or dinner. It gets crowded sometimes and it's somewhat similar to a fast food restaurant- you get in line, order, find a place to sit and your food comes to you, except the taste and quality is in another league. You get your own drinks and napkins etc. I recommend anything on the menu- their chicken is savory but not salty. Want a quick eat? Stop by and try it out.

Looking for healthy eats? Check this place out. Met one of my coach friends for lunch the other day. Got an awesome meal for $6. Pick three - I got a garden salad, broccoli soup and sweet potato/yam mush. It was sooooo good! I couldn't even finish it all. Only complaint, CCC gets so busy at times that you might have to wait for a table. My friend and I kind of vultured over a table of two that were wrapping it up. You gotta do what you gotta do... Would definitely visit again!

I love the salad! I am still a bit new to this place & haven't got the hang of what my favorite item is but all I can say is that I LOVE the salads! I will have one around 1-2 and still be full for dinner so def worth the price The chicken is also really good it taste very fresh and natural!

Healthy alternative. Great selection of salads. Parking sucks but around dinner time is gets real packed. Definitely will hitting this place more.

It is a good option for quick and healhty food...I'd give 3.5 if possible. The cookies are awesome! The caesar salad was just ok, while it was fresh, it was a bit bland. It was also very crowded at lunch time. I would go back again but not in a rush because it was that amazing.

  • Shawn D.

Super good food. I recommend the Caesar Wrap, good chicken, lettuce and has a crunchy taste to it. The service is good, but they get really busy since they are right next to CSUN. Discounts for students. Recommend this place for health eaters.

Ordering is simple, the tough part... waiting for your order to be ready. But I think the wait is worth the tasty chicken goodness of CCC. Just from observation, orders tend to take a while... Even phone orders can take up to 25 minutes to be ready. Maybe they're over capacity in customers VS their chicken oven capacity. I got a cesar wrap, good stuff, and they're quite big for portions. I got a bowl of their veggie soup on the side, quite tasty too. As others mention, it is quite a healthy place. Give them a try...

This place is good (quality & portions are great)!! You can never go wrong with what you order at this place. Get a side-anything when you order! It might get packed at times but seats get emptied really quick. And they have a friendly staff.

Fresh and consistent ! I always get the Asian chicken salad, 2 piece dark meat w the broccoli pasta salad side... All wrapped with the wheat pita ( they give you extras if you ask ) and dipped in the sweet n sour Thai sauce . Yum!

  • Samantha P.

Love the food here! The California chicken salad with balsamic vinegarette is my go to item. They are very generous with the toppings including avocado and chicken so it doesn't feel like you're just eating a big bowl of lettuce. The combination of the crispy noodles and peanut sauce in the Chinese salad wrap is so good too. You can't go wrong here!

Been coming to California Chicken Cafe for as long as I remember. Can never get enough of their healthy eats. The Chinese wrap is delicious for on the go but if you're staying I definitely recommend the Chinese chicken pasta salad. The rotisserie chicken is perfect cooked and has great flavor! Never gets old

Dry chicken & out of the sides that I ordered and made me wait over 15 minutes until they told me. manager was rude and had no accountability for their mistake. All he wanted was to tell me about the 600 meals they served that day. Okay, your busy, I get that and when you make a mistake, own it and take care of your customers. At almost $12 for my meal, I could have gone down the street to a competitor and gotten a WAY better meal for under $7.50. In the past 3 or so years I have been here 3 times and every time it's not been a good experience.

Ohhh CCC how I love thee. From the super crisp lettuce to the crunch of the crutons this place delivers. The first time I came here I was a little leary of the prices, not that it is very expensive but ten dollars for a salad? It had better be good, brother let me tell you, it is. Considering you can go to any place in LA and pay that or more for a salad that is half as good and I have. The food is super fresh tasting and I suspect they spend good money on the ingredients. If the family that owned in n out opened a salad place this would be it. PS. this place gets busy at lunch, and for dinner. So if you are in a rush, call ahead, order to go. :)

California Chicken is quite something. They've got it down and serve it up seriously tasty and fresh. Funny because I'm not even a big fan of chicken yet somehow this place takes it to a whole new level. The chicken is delish and the fresh salsa bar with condiments galore is great. Everything I've had so far is A+! Go outside of the rush hour if you can as this place is insanely popular and packs it in. Parking lot and area in general can be crowded. Also check their website for alternate locations, I believe there are a few. Enjoy!

I came to CCC with an old friend. It's been 6 or 7 years since I've lived in the Valley, so I wasn't aware that this restaurant had popped up in my local corner plaza. The chicken wasn't overly greasy, and it wasn't so dry that it made my mouth feel like the Sahara desert. A SOLID four stars. So here's the breakdown: ---Location--- Plenty of parking in the corner plaza, but you may have to walk a bit (if you have to park near the Big 5 side). As for the inside, picture a simpler Corner Bakery/Panera Bread place. You order at a register, they bring you the food. Not exactly a nice sit-down restaurant, but a far order away from being a "fast food" place. ---The Food--- My friend took the reins to order our lunch. He's a pro at this. 8 Piece dark meat. Pint of broccoli pasta. Full order Chinese chicken salad. Total cost, roughly $20.00. Faaaantastic. Keep in mind that the 8 piece dark meat turned out to be 3 leg/thigh chunks (totaling 6 pieces) and two wings. The chicken came with pita, so the lunching task was to fill the pita with dark meat, straggle on some pasta in there, shovel some salad, lace with Tapatio hot sauce, and enjoy. Now the white chunk chicken on the Chinese Chicken Salad was a bit dry, but we had a ready supply of dark meat. No consequence. ---The Rest--- Okay, so unlike a typical restaurant, I won't make additional comments on wines, beers, service, or what naught. Hey, you're going to a place called California Chicken Cafe. You're going to get chicken, chicken, and more chicken. Great food, awesome value, and a simple dining format focused around one thing: Eating chicken.

Love the Chinese chicken wrap and the Chinese chicken salad. They use to have rice vinegar but no more, so we bring our own. They have fresh brewed ice tea and great sides like fresh fruit. My kids love their broccoli soup, it smells awful but they love it. Great price for the fresh food. Only down size is the crowd at lunch and dinner hour, so call in your order or come after lunch.

Chicken Cesar Salad to go! Whole wheat Pita, yep pretty tasty lunch and big enough for two people to share. Call ahead to save time and beat the crazy line they always have at lunch time. See you again soon, CCC.

Came here tonight and ordered half a chicken with mashed potatoes, because you don't make friends with salad. Upon finishing, I've concluded that this place is an upper-middle-class El Pollo Loco. With better chicken. And pita bread instead of tortillas. No beans, corn, or rice to be had...instead, you've got delicious sides including mashed potatoes and gravy, various salads, butternut squash, and other semi-guilt-free dishes to pair with your chosen quantity of chicken. They also have wraps if you're into that. Perhaps I'll give those a whirl next time.

Tried it yesterday for a late lunch and had no idea what I was getting into. I sometimes find it difficult to put my trust into cookie cutter chains that pop up around L.A., but my mother recommended a stop in and I was impressed. Most importantly, the ingredients were fresh and the environment was clean and lively. Once you walk in out of the Strip Mall feel (it is L.A.) you find yourself in a walk up myriad of chicken delights. My ma suggested to go for one of the salads for a leaner fresher lunch that she says are "Totally Good". I wanted a little substance though, and sprang for the wrap option. I was thinking tortilla filled with an overdressed collection of dry chicken cubes and some produce (Doubtful Dummy I am) and discovered deliciousness instead! The wrap option offers one of their salad creations placed inside a thin white/whole wheat pita that was quite a generous portion for $7.25. The Chinese Veggie Wrap had carrots that were sweet and nicely peeled, lettuce, a great dressing that was light and flavorful, and my favorite part the chicken! Wow. Delicious moist morsels of white meat were tossed in so that there was perfectly even distribution. The fried chinese noodles were also a great textural addition! Good job CCC, I like forward to my next visit!

I've been here twice. I've had the combo wrap on my first visit and the California chicken salad with a side of fruit on my second visit. This place is always busy, so it's hard to find tables to sit at. Another bad thing is that the tables are bolted to the floor, so you can rearrange the tables....ain't that a bitch?! The wrap is wrapped with pita bread. Not a good idea. The pita is thick and dry and the chicken used for the wrap is just bland. I wasn't too fond of the wrap. No sides are served with the wrap and it was served on a plain plastic dish. Very unappealing to the eyes. But, I gave it a second try because I always hear good things about this place. I'm glad I did. The salad was much better than the wrap. This salad is one of my favorite salads now. Usually, a side of fruit at a restaurant is overpriced, but not here. My salad and fruit side cost me a lil less than $10. Filling, fresh, and cheap! Can't ask for a better meal!

Yummy combo chicken wraps, hot potatoes, homemade mashed potatoes, and fresh low calorie broccoli soup, no cream! They have a salsa bar and the salsa is delicious too! There is also one on Melrose but parking is always hard to find :(

Super busy inside so seating is a challenge. The food came out quick and was so good. I loved that they put brown rice and avocadoes in their veggie wraps it sounds odd but it goes together so well. I ate the whole thing in like 5 minutes. much better than going to subway/quiznos.

I eat her whenever i have time. it is healthy delish and pretty clean inside. The staff is really chill as well which helps make the process quicker. but the manger is rude, and i dont appreciate him. he gives attitude at special requests or modifications to orders and if their was another one fairly close by i might go elsewhere but there isnt. so i will continue to come here. combo wrap or california chicken salad! chicken pastaaaaa :)

This restaurant is the best healthy and best tasting food you can probably have for its cheap price. I go there very often. usually once a week and i always order the classic wrap with fat free mayo and a side of broccoli pasta. I love the wrap! they have many spicy sauces you can choose from, i prefer cholula hot sauce. the restaurant is usually packed and theres always a line but the food comes relatively fast. I recommend this to anyone who wants to try to be healthy and have something different you wont be dissapointed.

Cheap and healthy? YES PLEASE! Was introduced to this place by my bf who lives in the area and goes to CSUN. I got the quarter chicken combo with the hot potatoes and the rice pilaf. The chicken was cooked just right, with the skin crispy and delicious, but the chicken breast itself wasn't dried out. The wing was a little too crispy for my tastes. The rice was fluffy and perfectly seasoned. I liked that they add shredded carrots, green onions and green bell peppers to it. My hands down favorite thing though was the hot potatoes. Just the right amount of spices and flavors, the potatoes were tender and the portion was a good size. Will definitely visit again in the future!

I had the Combo Wrap, which comes with avocado, cheese, chicken, and a bunch of other stuff I don't care to remember, wrapped in a wheat tortilla (you can have it white too). I also got the broccoli pasta salad. The food was decent. It's your typical wrap/salad type place. I'm actually not a sandwich/wrap/salad type of person, but I gave it 4 stars because I think I'd like it a lot if I were. I don't know if that made any sense. If you come here during lunch, be prepared to wait a long time. I'd suggest you call-in your order if you're doing take-out. There is a lot in the front, so parking isn't really an issue.

CCC it's another place that a CSUN student should consider seriously for a good lunch time apart from the Campus' "not so good" food courts. Located on the plaza of Nordhoff St. & Reseda Blvd. CCC is a place to get refreshing choices of food. 1. The have wraps, good wraps! chicken breast wraps with avocado, romaine lettuce, alfalfa sprouts. My favorite: Primavera wrap! 2. Salads: Chinese chicken salad and Low cal veggie salad are my picks! Even if you order the half order, it's pretty big. 3. I'm not sure if they have it everyday, but their butternut squash puree is good. 4. Quick service and even though busy on lunchtime, you can always find a place to sit. They have outside sitting area too, if you feel like inhaling some good fresh smog. (from the Nordhoff's traffic) 5. The amount that you're gonna pay for some crappy fast-food, add couple of dollars more for a better choice in taste and quality. -enjoy!

Hot potatoes! Hot potatoes! I've honestly only had the hot potatoes because they're good and I've dabbled at other people's food and it being just fine or so-so. However they win me over by just having the hot potatoes. It gets crowded here so it's hard to get a table... have to be fast and take a table as soon as someone leaves!

Like another poster mentioned, this seems like a glorified pollo loco. Except, Pollo Loco may be better. The salsa was the only thing that made the chicken palatable. It did not have crispy skin - the skin was still chewy, which makes me feel like it was raw. Ewww. I hate chewy chicken. The only plus is the fruit salad as a side. WOW! Amazing. It was pretty big, and had lots of variety (melon, strawberries, pineapple, orange, etc). CONS Chewy Chicken COLD pita Expensive PROS Fruit Salad Salsa Quick Service I am tempted to go in and try a salad. I am not a big fan of chicken to begin with, so my review may be biased. Will update if the salad is any good.

great healthy food. I love the chicken with the bbq sauce on its own its kind of tasteless chicken, i always get the Chinese cabbage salad which i totally love and on occasion i have pick up a large size to take to friends house. the veggie soup is good too with spicy sauce. the food here is pretty good I just fell like u have to add flavor to make it ur own ie the bbq sauce for my chicken and the tapatio sauce for my soup. servces is good and they clean up after you which is cool too

I placed an order of Hot potato and a classic chicken wrap on wheat bread and no mayo to pick up at this location. I have been going to this one for about the last 5 years first time they messed up my order. I picked it up and while biting into my classic chicken and noticed white creamy sauce... and I said oh hell no.... no no no.... I continued not thinking anything of it and sure enough i bite into something crunchy.. .yep it was tortilla strips.. I realized they gave me the wrong order. Even though they accommodated me and replaced it being on my lunch break kind of wasted time I I will never get back. I should have gone to Chic-Fil-A instead.

Anytime you feel guilty about eating at too many grease spots, atone for your sins at CCC. Whenever I decide to "start" my diet, this is where I get motivated and stay invested. I really love the sweet chili sauce on a regular chicken wrap. It's the cheapest wrap. With the money you saved you MUST get the broccoli pasta salad! Those florets make you feel better about eating loads of carbs :) CSUN students get a free soda by showing your card. Keep your cards, alums!!! ;)

It's long overdue to write a review here as I have been eating at California Chicken Cafe for a long time now. It all started at the Westwood location. I always shared the Chinese chicken salad with my cousin on a lovely Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon, you say? Yes, there are locations open Sunday! This location isn't open :( but I saw a banner the Woodland Hills location is! I'm so glad to hear. Now when my cravings come Sunday I can pay a visit there. Reasons why I love CCC: chicken is so tender and juicy, I love the veggie soup and Caesar salad, everything is always fresh, healthy, and most importantly delicious! Prices are reasonable too, especially for the amount of food you get. There always seems to be a long line but that's ok when you're waiting to order good food. After ordering, if you are planning to eat here, they give you a number and when the food is ready they come to you. Also, there's no trash cans so after eating you can leave your plates at the table. It's an upgrade from your typical fast food chain, not that I'm comparing CCC to one ever. I highly suggest you get your butt off your couch and eat here. If you don't like it, something must be seriously wrong with you.

Great Chicken. Good Price. And free soda for any CSUN student/staff/faculty.

This restaurant is another "healthy" chicken alternative. If you took a Zankou, a Chicken Dijon, or a California Tikka Chicken and robbed it of flavor, variety, and a decent offering of sides and sauces, you'd get California Chicken Cafe. Aside from the chicken are a number of salads and wraps that are about as exciting as a glass of lukewarm water. The pita bread I was served was cold and tasted store bought. Much like my blood pressure, the food ultimately is not bad, but it also isn't something you drive home happy about.

Awesome wraps, fresh everything...you can not go wrong with this place. Not the quietest of settings, but you will want to come back regardless.

This was my first food discovery as a CSUN student and it's a place I try to go when I can. The chicken here is good but not great. I actually find it kind of dry, but it's just so flavorful. Try the mashed potatoes and gravy when you get a chance, it's just amazing. Some of the best I've ever had. Every time I come here I get the Caesar salad. There's nothing really special about it but it's just so good. It goes great with their chicken and all their meals come with pita. It tends to be crowded here in peak hours, considering it's right by a major university. Then again, isn't that just a sign of something good?

Veggie Wrap on whole wheat with nonfat mayo is healthy and delicious! The Chinese Chicken wrap is also a great choice. The place is extremely tidy and the workers are friendly. I would give the Northridge CCC five stars except for the fact that it's always crowded. The CCC located in Santa Monica is not nearly as packed as this one, actually it's somewhat empty. Just keep in mind: any place you see cops eat at, you know it's good. And CCC always has cops coming back for more!

I am so thankful for this CCC in Northridge. I LOVE CCC & I was SO happy when this place first opened here! :) I usually share a salad and a wrap with my sister. We like to get the California Chicken Salad, but if we just want a small salad, then we get the Chinese Chicken Salad because the California Chicken Salad doesn't come in a small. Out of the wraps, I really like the Primavera Wrap and Chinese Wraps on wheat :) For sides, you MUST get the Hot Potatoes!! The Broccoli Pasta Salad is pretty good, too! :)

I used to like the place but I'm never setting foot in there again. Got food poisoning from eating a three piece grilled chicken meal with two sides (caesar salad and mashed potatoes), What I went through the night after eating there and into the next two days was horrible. I did report them to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

I am a little disappointed with the rotisserie chicken. I am sorry! I tried very hard to like it, but I just couldn't. The chicken was a little bland and dry. It tasted like chicken that had been microwaved one too many times. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE CHICKEN prepared in anyway, but I guess I was just expecting this little piece meat to taste extra flavorful and juicy! BUT it didn't. So now I'm sad. :(

This place has great low-calorie chicken caesar salads, half chicken combinations, and side dishes (esp like garlic roasted potatoes and squash). The wraps are a bit dry for my taste but everything else was good. Portions are large and you can often times share.

I enjoy this place. Their hot potatoes are great. It's a good place to get fresh, healthy options when getting fast food. The chicken isn't the best--can be a bit dry and mealy, but it's not horrible. I LOVE their chicken salad. It's ridiculously HUGE, and it is just so yummy and fresh. I like their balsamic vinaigrette. I do like the taste of their Ceasar dressing, but it has never agreed with me. I always get sick when I eat it, so no thanks to that! All in all, it's a good option when you are inbetween or done with classes at CSUN.

Healthy food for a decent price. Place is clean, quick, and fresh. Menu has variety. Order on the phone if you are coming here for lunch.

Great place, great employees, great food. The only thing I can complain about is the lines but that's not really THEIR fault so... I love their chicken.

Asian chicken wrap, Asian chicken wrap, Asian chicken wrap! Seriously, I could eat this at CCC every day. The rest of the stuff on the menu is good, nice, clean decor, smiling, friendly staff. But that Asian chicken wrap....so good!

This place was recommened to me. It looked good so I gave it a try. I had the chicken cesar wrap which wasn't bad. It looked better than it actually was. I also had some sides, mashed potatoes and chinese sald. It was ok, didn't really go with what I was eating but I was told to try it. It promotes healthy food which I like but it wasn't my cup o' tea. I wouldn't choose to eat here again but if somebody took me I wouldn't protest.

Vegheads don't shy away from the CCC. It took me a good year plus and a very pushy friend to get me to step foot in, but I am sooo happy to have been introduced to this jewel. Love their veggie soup, thai slaw salad, and ginormous salads. I usually get my food to go because the chicken smell can be a little overwhelming. Highly recommended.

I love eating here. If there is a wait, it is worth it and the line goes by quickly. The salads are huge and delicious as well as all of their other food. The portions are very generous and I love the amount of avocado they give you. A lot of places skimp on that. Can't wait to come back. Very affordable.

The food here is Great. The staff is friendly and hard working. If you're tired of eating healthy at SUBWAY or tired of McDonalds, then this is the place to eat at. The chicken is always roasting and comes out deliciously fresh. The place is always busy, but the food line is quick. Worry about getting a seat, but never about your food because they have enough employees to make your meals.

Pst Pst! - I found out where the decent-looking attractive women go! - CCC! Should have been obvious. The place is healthy, clean, brightly lit, you get your food fast, and it just so happens to be located conveniently near other businesses where you run your errands - (like CSUN school). I love places like this that run a lean operation and don't have bullshit over-priced food and then give you slow service and expect a gratuity in return. You simply get in line, pick your damn food, pick your table, and eat it as quickly or slowly as you want. This place is quiet enough for you to talk, but busy enough to make you comfortable that nobody can eavesdrop, and loud enough that you can laugh without feeling obnoxious. Although the lot always seems crowded, I have always been able to find a spot.

I love the Chinese Chicken wrap! It makes me feel semi-healthy because there are veggies but I forget about the healthy qualities because the dressing is so tasty. I like to order the wrap with a side of hot potatoes! The potatoes are really good with the salsa verde... yum. For the wrap and hot potatoes, it's $8.50... not too bad when you're craving a healthy and quick meal.

What I like the most is that they are consist with their Quality of their food. Always the same taste and flavor. A plus. Its a casual type atmosphere, can get load inside. All their salad's are made right in front of you and sandwiches. No behind the doors,or in the back of a kitchen you can't see. A plus with the food safety. They all are wearing gloves when preparing your sandwiches. It gets very busy during lunch, I would recommend to come after the lunch rush,if you can. Great holding times for your line. Food always looks and tastes fresh. Great Job.

I've never been too crazy about California Chicken Cafe. I feel that their menu is very limited. I don't like how they prepare their chicken. It's all just blah. However I did enjoy my Chinese Chicken Salad today. I ate the salad and my dog had the chicken. The service was nice and the place was clean. They brought our salads out in no time. Next time someone wants to go, I probably wont resist as much as I usually do.

Stopped by after work since I was sick and wanted something on the healthier side. I really wanted chicken noodle soup but was saddened to find out they don't have it. I ended up ordering the Chinese chicken salad as well as a broccoli soup. $10.50 is definitely more than I'd ever want to spend on a salad, however it's a really big portion and can be used for a meal and a half. The salad was very enjoyable. The Chinese dressing wasn't too overpowering and the pasta (fusili or rotini, I can never tell the difference) added a nice touch. I would skip the broccoli soup during my next visit.

I've had CCC before, but this was my first time actually buying it at the store. I called for a takeout order and they said it'd take 15 mins. It was around 4pm so it was not crowded at all and I didn't have to wait. I got the Chinese chicken salad. A little pricey, but that's okay, it was really good. PLUS, they gave me complimentary hot potatoes. Awesome! I also used my Csun ID for a free drink.

Great food, always loved it. Healthy, hearty meals, everything was fresh. But lately, I feel like the prices are always going WAY up! I remember my favorite salad (Chinese Chicken Salad) was under $8 and my favorite wrap (combo wrap) was $6. Now, I see they are $10 and over. Ridiculous. At this rate in a year it'll probably rise to over $15 for a meal that I once got for under $10. I could get fresh food at restaurants for cheaper. Hole-in-the-wall places and mom and pop restaurants that serve good, fresh meals are way cheaper than this and is way better. If you like fresh, quality food for a great price you're better off going to Stone Fire Grill, you can get a side salad, 3 piece chicken and breadsticks for $12. I don't know what the hype here at CCC is anymore.

Over rated over cooked chicken. Typical of rotating chicken places where they have a very odd sticky texture to the chicken. The sides are awful and the pita bread isnt even toasted or anything. Another prime example of fancy decor and branding overshadows the quality of food.

I visited this place with the family and as usual it was goooooooooooooooood! The food here is always fresh and tastes great. I got the half chicken with side of their broccoli salad. You can never go wrong with anything you get since I have yet to try anything I don't like here. The roasted chicken is slow roasted and not greasy at all ( although I don't eat the skin, which is only semi-unhealthy part of the meal) and their salads are fresh and don't have the "old" salad taste that sometimes you can get. This location does get busy but there is plenty of parking and many people helping so line usually moves pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone in the area. Eating healthy is easy at this place so stop on by!

I love this location. They're always busy! The employees are fast and awesome. I always wonder how they can spot the individual numbers so fast. Kudos to all the employees. I just wish they had a tip jar so we customers can tip your awesome work. I had the combo wrap with an added side of broccoli pasta. The broccoli pasta is so awesome, it's nice and creamy. Plus it's broccoli so it gives me a sense of healthiness. My combo wrap is just awesome, I had it on wheat pita. Wraps are always my favorite, cause it's good and quick. If you're not sure of which wrap to get, just get the combo wrap. It's also in the same plaza as Boba My Tea, so you can grab your food here, like I did, then walk upstairs and grab some awesome boba, and sit out on the nice patio with umbrellas and trees to enjoy your meal. There's plenty of parking. I highly recommend CCC, it's quick, good, and healthy. Always a favorite when I don't have a lot of time.

I got a caesar chicken wrap. It had an overwhelming mayonnaise taste. The veggies in it were fresh the wrap held up very good without getting soggy. I would go back but order something different

its dah bomb. I wanted to try some chicken so I went here. The cashier was very nice, so I ordered 2 chicken legs with mashed potatoes and soda. When I tried the chicken was flavorful and I noticed the was no burnt part also the mashed potatoes were very tasty and delicious. There are a lot of varieties of soda and even a shaved ice maker. I would always go here again because this place IS DAH BOMB!

Dinner was good. I always come here for a nice healthy meal. Can be a bit crowded at times but that tells you their food is good. No line no good - Not the issue here.

I usually go to the chatsworth location, but since this northridge location is down the street from my work, I've been coming here. I will say chatsworth is the best location I've ever been to. The couple visits I've had here the food was just average, they are next to csun so it does consistently stay busy. The employees work hard, you can definitely tell, but it lacks certain things the other locations fill. I mainly wanted to write this review because I recently found a "lettuce bug" in my Chinese chicken salad. I had already taken a few bites of the salad and I found a dead bug in it. I guess it's common here.. My boyfriend called the store and the employer on the phone said they weren't able to do anything about it, but they can remake a new salad for me. I'm sorry ... I don't want another salad, knowing I had eaten a salad that a bug was crawling in. He asked to speak to the supervisor but she wasn't very informative, she might've been the manager on duty, I believe her name was Jessica? Just be careful with ordering salads here!!!

Two words.... combo wrap! Make that on wheat without the sprouts and you've got yourself the perfect wrap :) its healthy, delicious and very filling! My coworker always talked about this place so I was really looking forward to trying this place out and boy was I satisfied. There's plenty of seating inside but I imagine that it gets really crowded during the school year. Anyways, if youre in the area and need a healthy meal, I recommend coming here! Its about $9-$10. Pricey but filling!

Bomb, bomb, bomb!!!! Very filling.... It took me all day to finish my wrap. I got the combo wrap and was very satisfied. They also let you sample the sides. I tasted the broccoli pasta salad which was also delicious. I felt it was a bit pricey, but in my opinion worth it!

I've been going to this place for years and have had probably 50 meals there between various locations and have never had a bad meal. Consistently good and healthy food. I love the flavorful rotisserie chicken, yummy salads and their broccoli soup (not available in all locations) is the best 70 calories you can have! Highly recommended with 2 thumbs up!

I'm not a regular yet!?!? C'mon,Yelp! 6 Check-ins! I always get my regular - California Chicken Salad... vinegarette dressing on the side... wheat pita... to go. It's the old standby and it's great every time. This place is within walking distance of CSUN and makes fresh, delicious stuff every day - except Sunday. Bah! Closed on Sundays... Make sure you check them out if you're near campus for a chicken-y meal - or simply a healthy alternative to Panda Express or Pieology - which are nearby, too.

CCC is the place to be when you're in Northridgee?! I have been here a handful of times and have been pleased every visit. I have ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad and the Combo Wrap. My favorite thing to order is the Chinese Chicken Salad. They give you a big portion with a side of pita bread. This salad has everything you'd ever want in a salad. Well... I love tuna in my salad, but I think it'd be kind of weird with the chicken.. anyways! It has tasty chicken pieces, juicy mandarin oranges, pasta, almonds for a nice crunch, green onions, and etc. The service has always been great. Friendly and courteous staff The only downside to eating here, I would say, is finding a table during their busy hours. Also, I don't care for the parking lot either. But that won't deter me from eating here!

  • Melissa M.

My dad always said a mark of a good restaurant is where cops eat because they don't have time to eat at bad places. Well there are always cops here so I would say this is great. It gets busy during 12:30/1 for the business lunch rush and 6:30 dinner. But the service is great. If you go around 9:30 sometimes they'll throw in a free side they can't keep.

Their chinese chicken salad is heaven! I rarely eat in the restaurant but my to go orders are always ready on time and made exactly how I like it. This place is the best
