Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Great place to stop by before you head out of town. Oxbow, across the Napa town bridge. Bunch of little restaurants, bakery and shops. Casa, the ideal place for a quick taco or two.......enjoyed the shaved broccoli salad. it too was fresh and tasty. Located in a Seattle Pike Place setting. Or have a seat along the Napa River........... and enjoy a glass of wine as well. Definitely a place to go to again.

You know, the tacos have grown on me over time, especially on Saturday as we look for a quick bite to eat after the Farmer's Market.

Great Food everything from Tacos,Salads, also a nice selection of small plates.... Great Service, very helpful, accommodating. All Around a great place to go, if you are looking for Great Mexican Food..

OMG, this place is so good and affordable. and in middle of a indoor fresh market. a must pit stop on the way to winery! there's outdoor seating too! with lake view.

I only ordered one taco to split with my husband as a snack and I'm glad that is all I ordered. Hubby took one small bite and refused to take any more. Presentation was nice, but damn, you don't get much for your money! 7.50 for a duck taco. I would say more like 7.50 for a huge pile of spinach, a few slivers of duck, some HOT sauce of some sort that I will address later and none of the goat cheese or mandarins that were supposed to be on it. I was starving and I hate to be an ass and send stuff back so I ate it sans the garnish, which I was really looking forward to. I love all the flavors melting together and all I got out of this was heat and spinach. The mandarins and goat cheese would have possibly raised their rating, but alas, they were not there. The tortilla was generic, the duck was really flavorless, the spinach was overdressed and overabundant and whatever the heck sauce/salsa they put on this was way too hot for your average consumer. I've said it a million times, I LOVE spicy food. But, if you have to drink a glass of water between bites and your tongue is singed, maybe they should back off on the heat a little. 45 minutes later my tongue was still tingling. I couldn't get out of there fast enough and for the last 24 hours our personal joke has been, "Maybe I shouldn't have eaten that Taco". The place was clean, service was fairly fast and the ideas are great, they just don't pan out. Hence two stars instead of one. I'm not sure that I would try the place again, especially with Pica Pica and Bistro Sabor so close.
(2)Brian E.
Awesome food.....All gluten-free.....Eat here.....They are a bit pricey but so worth it. If they were slightly lower in cost this place would get 5 stars and i would here here a lot!
(4)Al E.
Catherine has it down! Great food made to order and very, very tasty! Try the nachos not as a snack with a modelo negro......simply awesome!
(5)John K.
If your in Napa and want a taco or salad,This is the place!! The place has a wonderful vibe!!
(5)Roman C.
Oh well they taste good even tho they failed their health inspection. It's pricey for a tortilla loaded with lettuce and some meat. So if you don't mind paying a lot in a place that failed a health inspection go for it.
(3)claudia y.
so good! but the wait is not short and its not cheap for tacos. we waited a while to order. it was a saturday at around 2pm and the market was pretty crowded. after we ordered we waited about 25 minutes to get our food even though she told us 10 minutes. i had a shrimp taco and one crab taco and both were delicious and different.

We were looking for a breakfast spot and spotted this one in the Oxford Market Building off First St. What we found were sharable breakfast tacos and some ethereal Mexican coffee with cinnamon and some other magic that made the spot memorable. The market was spooling up with customers and the staff C Casa were genuinely interested in describing their concept and making sure service was spot on. Good stop for downtown Napa breakfast before boarding the wine train.
(3)Anna C.
Fresh tortilla that is devine! Meats are packed with flavor. Lettuces add a nice crunch to the whole meal. I would recommend stopping by for a light snack like a taco. The beef is very tender here.
(5)Wendy T.
Loved loved loved my salmon dinner plate! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! The cilantro corn and edamame was super fresh and yummy!! Most priciest food court food but quality was up to par with high end dining establishment. We also had the crab enchilada but too little crab and too much goat cheese and we don't like the green sauce on top. Our friends raved about their duck tacos ( a must try next time), and I would like to try the guacamole and chips that have corn bits next time.

Mi casa - while es no su casa, C Casa can be both our casa! Oxbow Market holds MANY distractions. Chocolate here, sangria there, artisnal pizza yonder and oysters a stones' throw away. Don't get so caught up in the pricey gorgeous goods that you pass up C Casa. These are cheap to relatively expensive tapas sized plates that if you order right, you will gobble down and think now THAT was GOOD. Prawn Cocktail isn't your lame, slimy cold shrimp with somewhat tangy cocktail sauce. This is GRILLED prawns with a flavorful cup of tomato based dipping zestiness that you can dig out at your own governed pace with house-made chips. This one's a goody. Beef Taco - packed full up with taste, red cabbage and lettuce add crunch, a crema drizzle ads a highly complementary coolness and the white corn tortilla concludes the whole scene quite nicely. Yum. Fingerling Potatoes - you can get these as a side or an appetizer and they are simple as it comes - a bit of grilled onion along side, sprinkle with a bit of salt and pepper and those olive oil coated potatoes are a nice accompaniment to any choice of taco you decide on. C Casa's in the HOUSE - oh and they got nachos. Yes. That's what I shall devour next!
(4)T J.
Just had amazing crab and Meyer lemon dressing salad, yummy! Topped it off with a Brown Butter, Mexican Chocolate gluten-free giant cookie! Will definitely be back!
(5)April G.
This food was FRESH, TASTY, and WONDERFUL! I had the salmon taco, and it was surprisingly tasty with high quality salmon and some grilled corn or hominy or something on it, which I usually don't care for, but that made my taste buds explode with flavor! My husband had the pork carnitas tostado. He loved it. They are a little bit slow, but we were there on a busy afternoon. The food is worth the wait if you have time, and I will be going there next I am at Oxbow.
(4)Jana C.
Great food. As a gluten free vegetarian, dining can be tricky. Everything at C Casa is gluten free and they offer vegetarian selections on the menu, as well as, the option to make existing meat dishes vegetarian. This was the perfect post-triathlon race food ever! We will certainly return. Pros: - Everything is gluten free - Plenty of vegetarian offerings - Food is fresh - The food is healthier than your typical Mexican food which is usually dripping in melted cheese and beans made with lard. - Great outdoor seating Cons: - Service can be slow (avg wait is 15+ minutes) - They put vegetarian food on the same plate as meat items. They should know better than this.

Came here with fellow yelper Ben I. after originally deciding to go to Gott's, we decided to walk around the market and take a look. He had heard good things about this place and the menu and ingredients looked interesting enough for some different tacos than what I typically get from the mission. Ended up deciding on the rotisserie duck taco ($8) and the chicken taco ($4.25). Both were delicious and filled with fresh ingredients. Loved the contrast of flavors going on more in the chicken taco surprisingly. I would definitely buy that again. The duck was well made, but not sure I would buy that again. To pay that price for a taco again, you really have to blow my mind and they didn't with that one. Of course, everything will be overpriced here in Napa, but the chicken taco here at $4.25 is pretty good value and will definitely hit the spot if you are craving flavors from south of the border!
(4)Daniel C.
An innovative food stand serving high-end tacos, salads, and spice-rubbed whole birds (chicken, duck). Tacos range from $4.50 to $8.00 each, depending on ingredients. It seems pricey, but the tacos are very filling - loaded with fresh and exotic selections. We ordered four total: Cholorio (shredded beef), grilled mahi, buffalo, and the C-chicken. Mahi was slightly overcooked but well seasoned. I liked the C-chicken (moist shredded chicken meat) and Cholorio the best. Both were perfectly marinated and had good sauces and veggies to balance the dish (picked cabbages, sprouts, lettuce, etc.). I should add that each taco has its own unique combination of sauces and veggies. Yep, I'm adding this place among my favorite Mexican places.

"Woohoo! As good as it gets!" is right. There are a number of Mexican places to choose from in Napa County. Seriously, don't bother. Unless you're really into grease and three inches of melted cheese--than fine, bother. If you're reading this, go. Go now. If "now" is after business hours, go for breakfast tomorrow. Seriously, it's a Michelin recommended restaurant, and it's not really even a restaurant, it's a food stall at Oxbow. A MEXICAN FOOD STALL that is recommended by MICHELIN. Why are you even reading Yelp reviews?! GO! I won't even go into specifics, everything is top notch amazing. My personal go-to is the nachos sans meat, with both black and white beans. Fantastic. All the vegetarian tacos are phenomenal. Why are you still reading this?!
(5)Missy P.
$6.00 nachos! Excellent! Everything at C Casa is delicious and fresh.
(5)Belle N.
6/11/11 Mexican hot chocolate...was ok...mebbe a little on the colder side..granted I know they put whipped cream on it..but how likes a lukewarm hot chocolate...certainly not I said the fly...
(3)Hahaha H.
Oh my god no. This is not a taco. No no no no no. Worst excuse for a taco I have eaten in my life easily. Idk what you did to the Arrachera idk what you did to the cebolla and I'm not even going to start on the soggy wheat(?) "tortilla".. hipsters!!!!!
(1)Vicky T.
They have some great options but a lot of the flavor gets lost in the sauces. First off, if you get a chance sit out on their patio... small little rooms with an open view and comfy chairs. It is a great way after shopping, walking around to relax. I got two tacos- the white bean and the buffalo. I am a huge fan of buffalo but was disappointed. The meat was not overcooked (thank god) but the sauce totally took over the dish. The same thing with the white bean taco. The spice (and I love spice) totally overwhelmed the beans so it was like eating hot sauce and not much else. Catherine came out and asked how stuff was, as did our server several times.
(3)Phil G.
I'd like to give this place higher marks, but half the times I've been here the food hasn't been too good. In one case, the meat in the flank steak taco was so tough, chewy and flavorless, that I couldn't even finish it. Another time, the fish in the grilled salmon taco was raw in the middle. Not just undercooked, but raw - like sushi. When the food was good, I enjoyed coming here.

4/18/13~ Update: I gave C Casa another go and had a terrific experience. I've dined there twice since my I wrote my original review and the service/quality exceeded my expectations on both occasions. I may have caught them on a bad day last month but they're currently firing on all cylinders. I'm increasing my rating to four stars for now and will add another star upon having one more visit. 3/29/13~ The owner responded to my review and was genuinely disappointed to hear about my experience. After her kind and well written letter, I've decided to return to C Casa next week and update the aforementioned review based on my next experience. To be continued... I've had a few good experiences here and paid substantially for each of those meals (we're talking about tacos here). When a Mexican restaurant charges $8 for a taco, they should keep in mind that they're setting the bar pretty high. I, as most people, expect the service to be kind/prompt and my meal to be delicious and warm. My service was what you might expect from a tourist trap, not from an artisan taco shop at the Oxbow Market. They took our orders promptly then twice ignored our followup inquiries about our food. Total time from ordering to delivery was 36 minutes (again, for tacos) and every one of our four tacos hit the table COLD. We're not usually quick to send our food back but we couldn't accept cold tacos after waiting so long, regardless of how hungry we were. They were unable to reverse the charge to my credit card (tech. difficulties) so they gave me a refund in the form of cash, sans the tip I had written on the receipt. The tip just came out of my bank account this morning which was the icing on the cake as they say. Don't waste your time. There are too many quality options within the OM.
(4)Patti T.
It is pretty expensive here. $6 to $8 for a taco! $16 for a salad, $4 bag of chips and salsa.....BUT I have to say they were pretty darn tasty! My Mahi Mahi taco was filled with mostly cabbage but the dressing they used was just very good- different! The piece of fish was actually much smaller compared to Rubio's (for that price). My salad was also tasty BUT you get a very thin & small piece of skirt steak (most of the plate was black beans & saute mushrooms) with some spinach/corn/salsa served with two tortillas.
(4)Ivan D.
Crab taco was tasty and light. But overpriced at $9.00
(3)MJ B.
I'm not a big fan of mexican food for breakfast but this had me going back the next day! I ordered the roasted potato scrambled egg taco (recommended by my chef friend) and the over medium egg chorizo taco (because I love chorizo). The tortilla is freshly made and it makes a huge difference. The roasted potato scrambled egg taco was so good that I ordered two the next day. The chorizo was good but I thought there was too much black beans. Next time I'm in Napa, will definitely try the other items in the menu.
(4)Brianna H.
C Casa is by far my favorite spot at Oxbow. It is a little pricey but once you try it, you will understand why. It's Napa people- the market allows for the inflation. Breakfast- Huevos Rancheros or Chorizo Tacos (These are my favorites but its all good). Great when you want to enjoy the morning sun on the Oxbow patio with a nice easy breakfast and no wait. Lunch/dinner- The Caesar is amazing, as are the tacos. Skirt steak, lamb, and buffalo are delicious. I had the crab salad once- overpriced but fresh and light. The Nachos Not and the grilled prawn cocktail are excellent choices. They have a limited wine menu and a few beers on tap to top it off. Enjoy this gourmet walk-up anytime Oxbow is open.
(4)Stacey P.
C CASA's skirt steak taco was THE MOST tender and juicy piece of steak I have ever had in my life. But is it really worth the $5.95 for a mere 3 bites? At least have the decency to double wrap the taco... C CASA is definitely 5 stars is quality but pretty overpriced in terms of quantity. However, if you check in, you check a free bag of chips and salsa which helped me reason out the price of the taco.
(4)Monica T.
Great food...fresh, delicious, creative, healthy. Flavors are complex. Have had some customer service problems in the past but I think they have been fixed. My husband says the garlic grilled prawns taco is the best taco he has ever had. Stand up and order in Oxbow Market.
(5)Diana L.
Here on vaca and all the other reviews are right! Super good tacos although I would say this is $$$. $9 for one taco is steep, but so so with it.
(4)B W.
Located in the upscale Oxbow Public Market on First St., C Casa is part of their food court. But this is no ordinary food court like in the mall. The food is organic, high quality, and pricey. After saying that, we did enjoy our meal at C Casa. They only use grass fed meat, all gluten free, local produce, and free roaming poultry. I ordered the grilled salmon on a bed of edamame and corn. My husband had the crab taco. For 1 taco is cost $9.00. It only came with 1 tortilla. Rubios would give you two tortillas with their meals. That was our chief complaint. But it was tasty. You order at their counter first, then you get one of those devices that lights up when your meal is cooked. For seating, you need to just find an open table in the market. There is a group of tables reserved for a different eatery, so don't sit there.
(4)A D.
Amazing duck tacos, delicious guacamole with corn tacos, and quick. Love that they're sista alb and healthy. Great stop for a quick lunch !!
(5)Ben G.
Expectation management disclaimer: these are gourmet tacos. Do not expect the "authentic street food of our southern neighbors". With that out of the way, I absolutely adore C Casa. Great breakfasts, excellent tacos, probably the best nachos ever...and my son loves the Mexican hot chocolate like you wouldn't believe. The service is always friendly. The owner is frequently there, which is a good sign for consistent quality. It certainly helps round out some of the culinary options at the Oxbow, and it's never disappointed.
(4)Ken N.
Wow.. how this place is 4 stars is beyond me. Perfect example of over priced not-so-good food. TACOS: - Garlic Citrus Prawns: Prawns were good but only 3 pieces for almost $8. Not worth the price. Maybe if this was $3-$4. - Rotisserie Duck: Hardly worth $8. Duck was dry and just a few thin slices. Sauced overpowered all duck flavors. - Nachos: Two words. Taco Bell. Not saying Taco Bell nachos aren't good but they certainly aren't worth $10 for the large portion. - Chile Crusted Half Chicken: Skin was flavor. Chicken was super dry. - Strawberry Fresca: The best thing I ordered. Tasted more like watermelon though. Will never return.
(2)Mark H.
Solid food overall. Tried the duck taco (note that is singular... $8.50 for ONE taco). Sauce in duck taco overtook the duck with the after burn of the spices. While on the expensive side, it is definitely worth ordering once. Also tried the pork carnitas enchelada (again, singular). That was good. The pork was tender and juicy. Both dishes came with a generous amount of greens that made them feel quite substantial in the end. You will still be ordering at least two dishes to achieve being somewhat satisfied if you have any reasonable appetite. My wife tried the pozole soup. That was quite tasty, but not enough for an extra star. My in-laws ordered the nachos. Wow, that was actually pretty good. Decent quantity of chips with a lot of fillers. Would I eat here again? Yes... but only because I don't go to Napa that often. If I were a local, I'd want the price to come down a couple bucks per dish. Or offer a second taco half off or something like that. Quality 4 stars (if the sauce didn't overpower the duck, I might have gone for 5 stars given all the dishes we ate). But the price drops it a star.
(3)Steffanie R.
WOW SOOOOO GOOD.. First off EVERYTHING IS GLUTEN FREE!!! Love love love that. Prices are a little high, but you have to live people!!!!!! I have 2 taco's (they are HUGE, black beans, and guac and chips and my friend also got 2 taco's. plus drinks we paid $30 for lunch. So much food. I was stuffed by the time we finished. I got the beef taco and the pork special, and it was AMAZING. I would def eat here again. But I want to share my love around at the Oxbowl.
(5)Cynthia B.
Of all the pricey choices in Oxbow, this is a go to lunch spot. It gets super crowded, so be patient. But, from tacos to salad and the salsa it does not disappoint. Also, this is a good place to take kids. My niece and nephew love to make a big mess here and no one seems to mind ;)
(4)Julianna J.
We were traveling through town and found this place...great fish tacos! Spicy but very good! We would definitely go back!
(5)Andrea S.
The taco here are great. They were better then I expected. However, I thought the price of eAch taco was over priced. The grass fed beef taco was a much try when you at this Resturant. I also had the potato taco which was alright. It's not worth trying again.
(4)Jun I.
Very good new-style Mexican place. The food I tried, the grilled salmon and fish tacos, were OK. There was a guy I met a few days later that said that the duck there was excellent. I'll try that the next time I'm there.
(3)H T.
crab taco was fresh and delicious, but it was also $9, so that's kinda steep for a taco that was more greens and less crab.
(3)Nam B.
Best duck and carnitas tacos ever! This is a whole different level of tacos. The good ingredients like grass fed meat, free range poultry, etc.. put together well makes the qualilty and taste of theese tacos here soooo good. No wonder the tacos are $4-$8 each, but definitely worth it! Look at the pictures that people post and just think that the tacos actually even taste way better than they look.
(5)Tricia S.
When you ask Brian, the Sommelier at French Laundry where to eat lunch...you go where he tells you to go. And no small wonder. It's always fun to go to the Oxbow Market, and typically I would have skipped yet another Mexican joint, but we heard from more than one person about C Casa while we were in Napa. White beans on the Nachos? Duck Tacos? Amazing fresh, local and gourmet ingredients. The owner/chef shops for the best ingredients. An $8 taco? You can hardly call it a taco - I've paid more for a mediocre burger. Try the Azur Rose - perfect with their fare. The icing on the cake? A lovely woman was busing tables, picking up trash, cleared our table. We chatted her up. That lovely lady was the owner, Taking care of her business top to bottom. Way to go Catherine!
(4)Sue S.
I can't say enough good things about this delicious quick serve restaurant in the Oxbow. We were in town for 5 days and ate here twice. We just don't do that! Everything is so fresh. We had a variety of tacos and tostadas- all were great. We also enjoyed the nachos which were tasty. One item plus half an order of nachos was plenty for me, while my husband had two items plus half an order of nachos. So, the portions are larger than expected. Don't miss the delicious salsa on the counter to the left of where you order. Also, they have beer and wine if you care. Wish we had one of these in Ohio.
(5)Brittany F.
When walking around the Oxbow market there is no shortage of good food and thus it's hard to choose!! But as every foodie knows...follow the line! This was the only place that had a line at lunch on a Tuesday and it was for good reason. We tried the local crab salad with grapefruit and the grilled garlic citrus prawn taco with corn and slaw. They were both great but the taco was particularly good. The prawns were HUGE! It came with a garlic aioli and avocado crema - YUM! It was a little pricey but that is because they are using great, local, sustainable ingredients!! It's worth it. I hope they open one is So Cal.
(5)Christian H.
Cool place in what I suppose you could call a really great "food court" in Napa. C Casa has to be one of the best places to get Mexican food in the whole Bay Area...trust that I have done a lot of research on that in all my days living here. Go for the Skirt Steak Tacos and Black Bean Nachos with Chipotle Aioli. For seafood lovers they've got crab, shrimp and mahi mahi tacos if you like that instead. What's also cool is that they have different beers in bottle and on tap which you can take out onto their own side patio while you wait for your meal. The side patio is dog friendly & kid friendly if you've hauled the whole family along with you for the trip!
(5)Isabelle L.
It's a pretty expensive place to eat for lunch. We order the Special SALMON taco and Skirt steak unique tacos. OMG, it is super small. The salmon taco is 8 dollars and i am not even full by that. It's good, but the portion is too small. For the Skirt Steak taco, i think they put too many onion and I don't really see the steaks. The wait for the food is pretty long. we wait at least 15 mins for our two small tacos to come.
(3)Andrew W.
I would call it a solid breakfast option. The roasted potato scrambled egg taco was a little bland, and the over medium egg chorizo taco was a little salty. We ended up mixing them together a bit, but a little more kick in the potato scramble would have helped a lot. The corn tortillas on both tacos were excellent.
(3)Rob W.
Holy taco is right! Fantastically fresh and delicious with breakfast tacos! Superb desserts as well.
(5)Erica S.
Wanted to get a quick snack before dinner so I ordered the C Casa Chicken Taco and chips and salsa. The taco came with avocado, pico de gallo, chopped romaine, cotija cheese and some aioli sauce. It was a regular size taco so it was pretty filling for a snack. It was also messy to eat, but it was delicious. Their chips and salsa were addicting. Crunchy chips always seem to be addicting. I'll have to come back again for a real meal.
(4)Melody B.
Thank you to the very nice lady who had turned on the heater for me while I sat alone outside at the end table waiting for my breakfast . That was very thoughtful. That is what I call customer service. It was chilly outside and there were hardly any seats inside... That's why the outside seating was excellent for solidarity. We are regulars there and my hubby and I eat here often. So all visitors and Napa residents alike, the seating outside is just as good (or better) as inside!
(5)Amber E.
Tacos for breakfast? Sure; why not?! Our last hurrah in Napa before heading to the airport. Tried the Potato Scrambled Egg taco w/ cotija cheese, poco de gallo, cilantro and the Over medium egg & chorizo taco w/ avocado, pico de gallo and cilantro. Both were very tasty and unique; Made even better by the fresh salsas on the counter.
(4)Christine T.
I had the garlic citrus prawn taco and it was hands down one of the best tacos I have ever had, and I have had many a taco in my day. I love that you can see the tortillas made in front of you and that they are made to the perfection - wonderfully tender and full of flavor. My prawns were perfectly grilled and seasoned. I couldn't believe I was so over the moon for one freaking taco. Would go again. And again. And again. Just to note: You do have to wait a bit, but that's because everything is prepared to order. I didn't mind the wait at all, knowing what I was getting.
(5)Mariano A.
If this place doesn't get your taste buds jumping, then I'd have to say you need to pay a visit to your doctor asap! The tacos are so good, fresh corn tortillas, fresh produce, great aguas frescas, a varied selection from the land to the sea, including lamb and fish among other regular options. I like getting the cowboy eggs, code for 'huevos rancheros' for my non-spanish speaking brothers and sisters. If you are in the neighborhood try this place out, you won't be disappointed. When you are done, walk over to the fabulous ritual coffee, or crepe stand, or ice cream stand, or cupcake stand. The marketplace has so many great options that I could go on about it forever, but I think you get the point!
(5)Faby P.
Another great choice on my Oxbow adventure - husband ordered something he enjoyed and I had the lamb taco. Never would imagine a Mediterranean twist on a Mexican dish but these people know what's up and how it's done. Loved it.
(5)Grace C.
I tried two types of tacos here. Get the carnitas taco - it's really flavorful & good. The salmon taco was meh because the salmon was pretty bland. The spicy mushroom soup of the day was only OK... it was super peppery and kind of burned your throat when swallowing.
(3)Blake B.
We really enjoyed the Oxbow Market as it reminded us of a small SF Ferry Building. The menu and write up at C Casa really got me intrigued to try their food but I think the write up was better than the actual food. I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy the meal but the meat was a little chewy. The mahi mahi taco was much better and I was a big fan of that. Overall it was a little pricey for the amount of food you got but that's typically what happens in those types of settings.
(3)Adrienne S.
The tacos are out of this world. They pile them SUPER high, so I always order one, plus an extra corn tortilla and make two out of it. Then I walk over to the Peruvian place and get some Sangria and BAM! Party in my mouth. We grab lunch here when we are in Napa and it never disappoints.
(5)Kelly O.
Rotisserie duck tacos ...I'm an addict and am okay with it....
(5)Jaime O.
delicious - got a trio for $15 - grilled shrimp cocktail, guacamole and chips and spiced veggies. Very good. Also got a side of white beans, Hubby got roasted chicken - we were both very happy.
(4)Roger L.
A good variety, food was fresh, fast and delicious.

Been here many times before, but finally decided to write a review. I found some stand by items I now order on the regular: 1. Half-Chicken - chicken is soft and moist; and the lime flavor adds nice citrus punch. 2. Crab Tacos - Yum...is all I can say. 3. Chips and salsa - crispy chips and great salsa verde. 4. Steak Plate - low carb option and love the black beans. 5. Beer Selection is always good! I'm always a little skeptical about froo froo Mexican places, but this one is good. The food is consistently fresh and tasty.

My first impression was: Uh oh--" An Innovative Taqueria?" This could either be a really good thing or a really, really bad thing (think overpriced Baja fresh-esque food; at least that's what I was thinking while I was waiting for the pager to buzz.) Luckily for us, lunch at C Casa turned out to be the really good thing I was hoping for. I went the safe route & ordered a large caesar salad ($7.50) & added on skirt steak ($4.75.) I could not get over how flavorful (if not a little salty) every single bite was; this was not a typical caesar. This salad had roasted poblanos, chile rubbed tortilla "crispies," queso fresco & a skirt steak that was seasoned & charred to perfection. C Casa certainly lived up to their promise of innovation. The bf had two tacos: grilled citrus prawn ($6.50. super flavorful like WOW) & chilorio ($4. ancho chile rubbed shredded beef; again WOW.) Chips & salsa are $2.50, which I happily munched on while grumbling "I can't BELIEVE i paid $2.50 for chips & salsa..." Their agua frescas ($3) were watermelon (loved it) & raspberry lemonade (too tart for me, but the bf liked it.) Total: $35 I don't know if they have plans to come to SF, but I'll be waiting to patronize them if & when they pop up in my neck of the woods!

We came for breakfast two days in a row. Huevos rancheros were tasty eggs over black beans, fresh cilantro and spicy sauce. Home made fresh corn tortillas, not prefab. Coming from east coast chipotle world, this is well worth it. Fresh squeezed ok, I am in heaven

I wanted to order the grilled mahi mahi taco ($8), but they were out of mahi mahi, so they offered swordfish and I took it. Served open face, almost like a (soft tortilla) tostada it was pretty sizeable. The description listed an avocado crema, but I got a light orange colored drizzle that was really spicy, yikes! Other than that, it was very flavorable, good balance of fish, cabbage and the such. I just want to know what that spicy something was because I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy stuff - I pushed that to the side and still felt there was plenty of food. I also ordered the small C Chop Salad ($4.75) and thought it was the large. The salad was good with the pumpkin seeds and bell peppers, but the dressing didn't quite taste like the creamy cilantro lime dressing listed. Whatever it was, it was good. I like the taste and will go back and try other items on the menu. Good stuff, Maynard!

Ate here for breakfast and it hit the spot! The tortillas are handmade and incredibly good. The chipotle aioli is spicy and delicious. The wait time is a little long so I can't imagine what the wait is like if there were more people. The good side is they give you a buzzer so you can roam around. Grab coffee from the ritual place and relax.

We enjoyed the C scramble with chicken, gurgle rancheros, c casa breakfast with eggs over easy. Fresh ingredients and delicious. The mexican hot chocolate was OK. Would probably come eat here again the next time we're in town.

Stopped for a quick breakfast before hitting the road for more food! Tried their ROASTED POTATO SCRAMBLED EGG TACO- with pico de gallo, cotija cheese, chipotle aioli & cilantro-- it was pretty bland, i thought the description sounded good though. darn.

everything on the menu sounded and looked good. i went with the short rib taco and carrot coconut lemongrass soup. both excellent.

Oo I love roasted duck, but I've never had a duck taco! The coleslaw was pretty good but I wished there were a few more slices of oranges to give it a sweet citrus balance. I think there should have been more sauce too.

We came here with some friends to check out the Oxbow Market Sun 3/9/14. After circling several times, we decided this place had the most "bang for your buck". I ended up getting their special which was a Butternut Squash Enchilada plate which came with a Caesar Salad and the most DELICIOUS Mexican Chocolate Brownie!! The combo plate was $13, but well worth it, considering the other restaurants were charging higher prices for much less.

My three favorite tacos: buffalo, lamb, and chicken! Seriously though everything here's amazing! I come here every time we're in town... more than once, if I can! The breakfast is great too! Make sure to check out their specials up on the board!

This place serves yummy tacos with a twist. Their tacos are filled with delcious flavors. I tried the garlic prawns taco and the lamb tacos. I enjoyed them both. However, the lamb could have been much more tender. They could also work on their homemade salsa. It tasted watered-down. I'd definitely like to come back to try the other tacos, since the two that ordered were both very good, but very different.

ordered grilled shrimp taco and nachos not. both were yummy!

In hopes of defending my reputation, let me say this. I will spend money on food. Lots of money. Happily. I don't need new jeans, I need a delicious dinner. As such, I don't think I've EVER dinged a yelp rating based on cost. Until today. C Casa. You are constantly a vibrant, packed, alcove of the Oxbow Market. Your menu is tantalizing with dreamy offers like a half duck, crab tacos, short rib tacos, and other high end, high quality delicacies that take ingredients that we know and love and give them to us in new and different ways. But seriously. 8 - 12 bucks for a SINGLE taco? Not ok, C Casa. Not ok. And even more, that's a taco that is 95% greens, 5% protein and sauce. C'mon. That's just not right.

Stopped by here for lunch yesterday. My intentions were to just pick up some English Muffins @ Model Bakery but as I cut through the building, I saw a family sitting at a table eating nothing but different types of tacos. They seriously all looked so good, so I decided to pick up a couple. I ended up getting: Grilled Garlic Citrus Prawn Taco - This was absolutely delicious and best shrimp taco I've ever had. It had 3 huge grilled prawns, corn relish, cabbage, avocado, cilantro and a creamy garlic aioli. Kalbi Taco - This was also good and tasty. Short ribs, mushrooms, lettuce and a horse radish cream sauce. These medium size tacos are pretty pricey. Approx $16 for 2 tacos. 4 stars for the taste and creativity in these tacos. Minus 1 star for the price and the fact that it didn't fill me up. I'd definitely come back to SNACK on some tacos. Not sure I'd go here famished, otherwise I'd be spending a $25+ lunch. =)

I always visit C Casa whenever I go to Napa for Five reasons. 1. It is a fully gluten free restaurant. 2. The menu is always changing with the local produce. 3. The juices are AMAZING! 4. Gluten free breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. 5. Fingerling potato taco is addictive! Having a place that I can stop for breakfast on my way out wine tasting is always a plus when traveling gluten free. Lunch and dinner options are easier to find but to have a place where I can get a solid brunch menu is harder to come by. I really like the menu here but I am only giving four stars because there is another gluten free restaurant in the same market that I like better. Nothing wrong with this place at all but I just like the flavor combinations better at Pica Pica. Then again, my husband is Brazilian so I am always excited to find food that pleases his pallet.

Stopped by for lunch with a friend. Had the chopped salad with skirt steak which was $13.50 I think. Was one of the better salads I've had in awhile. A little on the pricey side for the tacos. I'm used to tacos in the mission in SF that cost no more than $2.00 and these in comparison ranged from $4.50-$6.50. Still not that expensive and I'm sure I'll try the lamb taco next time I stop by.

WOW. i saw their menu online and my mouth started watering just from reading, so i knew i had to get over there..FAST. with such unique items on their menu that makes it so difficult to choose from, i decided on the fingerling potato (my favorite) taco and a chop salad. a potato taco- sounds weird, but it was GENIUS. how has no one ever thought of it before?? roasted chunks of warm potato with sauteed poblano chillies, pico de gallo, queso fresco and sour cream...it was absolute heaven. the warm potatos and tortilla with the cool salsa and cream, and crunchy and soft textures all rolled into one, i could say that this might be the best taco i have ever had. it was messy...in fact it got really messy because they dont skimp on the ingredients! i loved it. the chop salad was excellent too! cilantro-lime dressing gave it that perfect tang and toasted pumpkin seeds were an unexpected but delicious suprise. C Casa was an absolute joy to eat at and i cannot wait to come back!

We've been long time diners and have recommended C Casa countless times over the past couple of years. However, the past 5 visits have been very disappointing. The inconsistency has ranged from runny white beans on the white bean taco, to over the hill avocados and wilted lettuce on the salad. The past few visits have been especially disappointing. The overwhelming flavor of garlic salt or garlic powder has replaced the complex, interesting flavors that C Casa was originally known for. Tonight, the flavor of garlic salt on my white bean taco was so overwhelming I couldn't finish it. The salad was loaded with the stuff as well. I hate to do it, but my rating is now 1 star until things turn around. It'll be a while until we try it again to see if they have.

The duck tacos were the bomb. The lamb tacos were so gristly that I discarded both of my bits and did not eat this one. The buffalo was okay but there was way too many beans as opposed to meat. The steak was ok, I'm not too fond of blue cheese with is mingled in the mix. You have to pay for chips and salsa and there is hardly any salsa in the container. Go for the duck taco!
