These guys make a delicious burger. My wife and I decided to try this place when the line at In-N-Out burger was well out the door, and we were not disappointed. They have a nice patio area to enjoy when the weather is nice. The pickles are awesome. They are both sweet and spicy. The Super Duper Burger is so big you don't even need fries. I look forward to grabbing another burger here soon.

Super Duper has withstood the wrath of the finicky burger eater (since it came to MV, SmashBurger and Weezy's have come and gone), but though my 7 year old loves it, I think it's just OK. In the early days it was not uncommon to find a hunk of gristle in the Niman Ranch meat (a meat that is no longer as boutique as it once was, as it was bought out by a larger meat company), and though they say they will cook your burger to your specification, they don't. Or they don't all the time. It's the inconsistency that will drive you batty. They have since moved on to a different meat vendor, and it is better. The worst thing is, though, is that I don't believe there is a single time I have gone here (and I have been about 30 times, at least, since it first opened) that my entire order (for a family of 4) has been correct. Inevitably, it's MY order, so I get a little persnickety about it. AND, it usually involves the omission of one of their $1 add-on items. Where do these things go? My egg with the burger? Wasn't there. My bacon? Another time THAT wasn't there. The three dips for my fries? Last week that wasn't in the bag of take-out while it certainly was on the bill of sale. Hummus on the veggie burger? Had to go to my own fridge to make up for their forgetting it. While the hummus on the veggie burger is a free add-on, the rest of those items are $1 each. No big deal? Well, if everyone gets the service I do, then that's a lot of dollar bills over one night. I don't want to question their bookkeeping, but heck, maybe we all SHOULD. Oh, and DO NOT do the drive through. This is slow food, to be sure. I would give this place 2 stars, but I will give it 3 ONLY because it puts a smile on my son's face.

I don't rate low often so let me say why. The food was decent. Had a super burger with bacon, cheese and super sauces. It was okay but very greasy. The sign says "juicy" but it was grease. The burger had decent flavor but seemed to be missing something. Price was a little high. 2 mini burgers, 1 super burger, 1 garlic fries, a coke and a shake was $34. I have been to fresh burger places before and gotten organic food like this for way less. I would maybe come back again but doubt it.

I do like a good burger. Start with quality ingredients (beef, fresh veggies, good cheese, and perhaps most importantly, a fresh-baked, high quality bun. Then, of course, it must be well prepared, but that should be the easy part. Super Duper gets 2 stars from me for good quality ingredients, but that's where the stars end. The burger I got today (a "regular" which is actually a double patty), was not well prepared. The beef was undercooked. I don't know if you could even call it "rare", because the outside edges were still reddish pink. It was wrapped in paper that was literally soaking in juice, so the bun, the burger and the veggies were more like "burger stew". It would have been easier to eat with a knife and fork on a plate, but those utensils weren't offered (I looked). If they are going to offer a raw burger, shouldn't they at least ask if the customer would like it cooked a bit more? Is it even legal under California health codes to serve undercooked ground beef? Anyway, it also was a turn-off that most of the tables needed wiping, so overall not a great experience. There are many other fancy burger places in Mill Valley (Pearl's and SmashBurger to name two), so I will probably not come back here.

Don't get me wrong I love super duper. I think the food is fantastic! Especially the chicken sandwich, which I always get with avocado cheese and without the chipotle sauce. One day during lunch I go there and get my sandwich and sadly they had forgotten the avocado, I ended up going there again the same day and told them and they gave me my money back along with a free cone. I left very satisfied. Today I go, get my sandwich drive home and I'm livid. For the amount of avocado they put on the sandwich I should have paid them a dime. It looked like there was avocado and then someone had scraped it off. Honestly, I wouldn't be so angry if adding avocado and cheese didn't make the sandwich NINE DOLLARS and this happened twice. If the sandwich wasn't so good i would have gone back and made a formal complaint. STOP BEING CHEAP WITH AVOCADO WHEN ITS A DOLLAR

If this place doesn't have 5 stars I don't know what should!? I say this with all sincerity. The best burger I've ever had. Fries were wonderful and the ice cream is heaven. Run!!!! Other burger places in marin - take note - this is the gold standard!!!!!

Discovered this place while driving through Mill Valley- Turns out they have 8 of them. Being the Burger hound, that I am, I had to give it a try. Actually had them for a partial dinner and then for lunch the next day- Was really impressed with the flavors and builds on their burger- They get extra points for making their own pickles, which are delicious. They leave them in their condiment station, so you can help yourself. Like a pickle smorgasbord! The meat is all natural, and get this; vegetarian fed?! What a revelation! And they "Grind daily" but I didn't see any meat grinders on premise. Still, very tasty. Good bun, well toasted, great sauce, over-all a very solid burger. Also they offer a vegetarian burger with hummus that has quite a following among the folks that are not omnivores. Also tried the chicken breast sandwich which was pounded or sliced thin to cook quickly and seasoned with what tasted like a Cajun seasoning, very good!. Respectable skin on French fries, frozen, but still very good. Try them smothered with garlic and white Cheddar cheese, Yum! tried a chocolate shake, good, but not great, met expectations, but would not make a trip just for that, this place is all about the Burgers. And it is pretty Super.

Shared the burger, chicken sandwich and garlic fries. To my surprise I thought the burger was good (hubs thought it was great), but we both agreed the fries and chicken sandwich was outstanding. Great place for lunch.

I am pretty far from being a local to this establishment, but rest assured, if I were- I would be here often! I first visited it two years ago, and stumbled on it again yesterday on the way to Muir Woods. They offer a 4 oz. mini burger, which is the perfect size for my appetite! Their standard is to cook their patties medium. I added cheddar cheese and bacon. The bacon was just crisp enough, and plentiful. This burger was delicious! We did not indulge in the fries, but they smelled fantastic. The outside seating was heated, so we enjoyed the sunshine on the patio. I will be back.

This place is quite nice, i love how there's a drive thru, seats outside for people to enjoy the weather and tables and booths inside for people like me who needs to use an outlet. The place was pretty packed when I came but we got our food within 10 minutes which was awesome cause we didn't eat all day. I got a mini burger with cheese and bacon and garlic fries and i finished it so fast that it seems like I haven't ate for days. The burger wasn't as good but it wasn't bad either. It was just a regular hamburger to me however i do enjoy their garlic fries. Been a minute since i had some good garlic fries. Overall it was a decent burger place, sad I didn't get to try the shakes but next time.

My favorite burger place, I have to watch myself with the pickles or else I'll eat them all. The burgers are always juicy and filling.

I normally enjoy my Super Duper visits. I used to frequent the Marina location when I lived in SF. But I have to admit - today's meal really missed the mark. I ordered the chicken sandwich with bacon and a side of fries to go. Unfortunately, when my food arrived, the chicken was dry, and the entire sandwich was lacking in condiments and flavor. Even the fries tasted overcooked. At least at in In N Out the burgers come fully dressed. There's really no need to add ketchup. So once you're in your car, you can immediately dive in to your sandwich. Also, if we're going to compare apples to apples (or burgers to burgers), the prices at Super Duper are almost double that at In N Out. I guess I never noticed that before. My sandwich and fries cost me over $10. But as I said, Super Duper is normally a reliable fast-food option. So the way I look at it, every pitcher has a bad day. And obviously, today wasn't their best day on the mound. But I haven't lost faith. I will be back to give them another try soon.

Super Duper burgers are reeeally good. I don't generally fantasize about takeout burgers, but I do find myself developing an addiction to Super Duper and craving it periodically. For a place to be five-star in my estimation, the service has to be good. Unfortunately, the employees are not exactly enthusiastic or overly friendly, but man, the burgers and shakes are out of this world. I love that there's an option to add grilled onions for free, cause they really make a burger. Burgers are messy, but in the best way! Flavors are on point and the ingredients fresh. They also seem to have recently changed their fries, which is great because I wasn't at all fond of what they had before. I got them one time and had planned to never order them again; then they changed them and they are now crispy and delicious! Lastly, the Oreo shake is amazing and decadent.

Really good burgers. I had the bacon cheese burger with everything on it. Very tasty, but very greasy. This place is great. I cant wait to try the chicken sandwich next time. Also its organic from what I've been told. five stars in my book.

A great place with juicy burgers and delicious garlic fries. The place usually comes with a steady crowd of patrons, who don't mind the excessive loud noise in a small area.Carrying on a decent conversation can be challenging and interesting because people are speaking so loud you can not help but to hear them. This place has outlast the two previous burger places in Mill Valley, and now I know why. Great service, fresh hamburger buns and tasty shakes. If you don't mind eating inside a fish bowl , and tolerating the noisy environment try this place out.

All I have to say is yaaasss!!!! My first time here. This place reminds me of when my mom use to make, homemade burgers. The meat cooked just right, it was juicy, not greasy at all. I only got my order to go but bet your sweet bottom I'll be back here again. When I took the 1 st bite, I almost forgot my name. I want another one right now. ;-) Some people think this place is nothing to write home about, the burgers are greasy, but those are usually the one who have been fed processes burger patties their whole lives. Good eats, good eats.

Stopped here after a hike in nearby Muir Woods. We tried the chicken sandwich and a chicken salad and both were good. I really appreciate that they use natural chicken without hormones. Everything was made to order and tasted fresh. We'd love to try a burger if we visit again.

This is my first time here. The burger was delicious, but I could have eaten two, for the price of one burger with everything your getting an upgrade from a five dollar burger meal at mc Donalds. If I was on a diet or had kids to feed this would be a good spot. The fries are separate, but they have beer on tap. They messed up the order of my burger twice, and my friends burgers (2) once each. Bad day in the kitchen? The receipt had clearly stated what I had ordered so I figure it might have been an off day. They were very kind about making the changes, and it wasn't that big of a deal, I'm not the type to be insulted over a boo boo in the kitchen. I would probably come back, but not unless I happen to be in the area, and by area I mean across the street.

Good thing the food was good because the customer service did not come with a smile. Got the mini burger and fries to share with a cookies and cream shake, it was plenty of food after a long walk at Muir Woods. The burger was juicy and the fries weren't your standard frozen french fries. The cashier was less than happy we were there hardly made eye contact and then when I asked for a small cup so we could share the milkshake, she gave us an attitude the size of Texas and dropped a small plastic cup on the counter.

Beef from Marin Sun Farms? Whaaat? Tasty homemade pickles? Whaaaat Out of beer? Whaaaat After coming from a long hike, we were craving for burgers and beer. I was quite disappointed they were out of beer but their milkshake and free pickles made up for it. Love their pickles! Even my non-pickle eating husband loved it too. Places like this is redefining fast food. Thank you!

I'm updating this review and adding two stars because my family says I was too tough. After all, they said, the burgers and fries were delicious and Super Duper Burger will get a second chance from them.

This is one of my favorite burger joints. The beef that the burger patty is made of tastes so fresh and juicy and the rest of the fresh, high quality ingredients compliment the beef patty perfectly! My co-workers love getting the egg on their burger, too (although, that's not my thing). I recommend getting their french fries, which are skinny (but not shoe string) and crunchy. Their garlic fries are also good, but tend to be really greasy. I also recommend getting their shakes. Their chocolate shake tastes like they also blended in oreos (which I'm not sure if they actually do) and their vanilla shake taste like it was made from real vanilla instead of the artificial stuff. Even though this place has a small and simple menu, the food and drinks are high quality and leave you wanting more.

Thought to let you know that your Mill Valley location Drive Thru personnel and cook are IMPROPERLY Trained! As I gave my order via Drive Tru, Paid at the window, another patron walked up to this Drive Thru window and said that she ordered by phone and want to pick her Super Duper Burger. To my surprise your Drive Thru employee accommodated this ENTITLEMENT Mee Valley patron for 20 minutes. In the meantime, other Drive Thru patron who ordered in their cars have grown (5 cars behind me) After Mee Valley ENTITLEMENT patron left, I was told to wait for my order because your cook doesn't know what he is doing!!!! So I waited another 20 minutes, while the cars behind me piled up! I was concerned about physical retaliation while I waiting for 40+ minutes for your burger!!!! TRAIN your personnel better.

Toasty bun, fresh produce, tasty patty and secret sauce do make this a pretty tasty burger for sure, however it can be very messy so stock up on napkins. Overall, I'm still unsure about its overall quality since a friend of mine said that they were so good you'll dream of them the next time you sleep. I didn't think they were THAT great but it was good enough to say "wow, that is a tasty burger!" Im still on the hunt for the best burger in the bay and my favorite still remains Jack's Prime in San Mateo followed by Godfathers in Belmont. I'll give it a 8/10

5 1/2 Stars I've only started including meat back into my culinary life a couple months ago after being Vegan for a time. Even then, red meat is still something I do not frequent and do not intend to as a life long direction. I discovered one thing about red meat from my Vegan days. That it is not protein, nor amino acids, nor enzymes that my O+ Blood Type Body needed from meat. It was something very, very subtle that may not be medically identifiable with current science. The "Life Force" or Prana or Chi has a dramatic effect on my body's normal operating abilities! Let's just say that a certain part of my body gradually started under performing without occasional meat. I refused to accept this for months and continued with every type of supplement and vegetable based food known to address this. My renown Integrative Physician/Nutritional Doctor had told me from Day One "that she has never met a healthy Vegan". Well I thought, a part of me certainly isn't behaving healthy! So one day a couple months ago I was feeling particularly low in energy (and the other thing still going on too), I ate a whole New York Steak! My body IMMEDIATELY responded with a surge of energy! Suffice to say that "other issue" I mentioned instantly came back in line as well! Isn't that special! So it seems karmically perfect that just down the street from my Doctor's office in Mill Valley is one of the very few Super Duper Burgers!! Now once a month before or after my Doctor's visit I treat my self to a "Super Burger" at Super Duper Burger to get my dose of nutritional Life Force. I still deeply believe in the principles of Veganism and animal rights, but I cannot deny what this little bit of compromise does for my health. I wish it were not so, but it is true for me. It appears that my Doctor was right! Other larger burger chains like In-N-Out Burger or Five Guys makes high quality quickly produced hamburgers. But they are not in the same league as Super Duper Burger! Right Now, Super Duper Burger is The Best in the Bay Area in my Yelp book! My fav is their trademark "Super Burger" with lettuce, tomato, red onion, jalapeno. No cheese and add Avocado on the side. They come with 2 quarter-pound patties for a full half-pound of meat and cooked medium and very juicy! The meat is Niman Ranch / USDA Prime Plus and they grind daily fresh! What is nice about their presentation is that the burger itself appears on the small side. That really works for a gourmet like me cuz it appears more delectable. The smaller appearance also gives the illusion of a smaller portion meaning less calories. Well, the explosion of flavor is unmistakable and I am in hamburger heaven every time! Combine it with their Garlic Fries and a mini-carafe of "red wine" (available at their Mill Valley restaurant at least) and you got yourself a bonafide culinary, gastronomical experience! Eh it was ok Super duper burger: greasy and sloppy and not much flavor. Chicken burger/sandwich: decent, good flavor, chicken was dry. Super super sauce: 4 stars, great flavor Chipotle mayo: good. 3.5 stars Homemade mayo: 3 stars, nothing to write home about. They serve beer and wine. Order and sit kind of place. I can see going to this place for a random lunch if living in the area, but definitely NOT a destination restaurant. Won't be returning.

Strategically placed next to my yoga studio, so when I get loopy from the heat visions of nourishing burgers dance in my head. I've only been once, but I found Super Duper to be worthy of their potentially vain and presumptuous name. The burgers are perfectly proportioned, come with a load of freebies like pickles and peppers, and are served quickly and with a smile. It's like fast food without the evil stuff. This is a perfect mid-week treat to pick you up from your failing juice and chia cleanse without feeling too guilty afterwards. If you're into that indulgent kind of thing, you must try one of the Straus shakes or soft-serve, which I was happy to share with my boyfriend. One cup+two straws=love. While it doesn't land in the lauded ranks of my favorite burgers ever consumed, they are perfectly practical and a solid Marin option when in need of some meat.

I love their food, and often eat at their city restaurants. Unfortunately, the staffing at this location is not up to par with the others. Yes, I know this is a casual fast food joint, and I really don't expect too much. However, they really need some help. I've had countless lukewarm burgers, primarily because the food sits on in the 'waiting' area for a server to buzz your number. I've also watched my food sit there for five minutes before someone tried to call my number. I've resisted bailing on this location completely because I really like the food, but I'm getting close-so be prepared for not-so-fast and lukewarm food.

Stopped in with my dad while we were passing through town and it was the beat decision we made all day! The food was delicious, easily the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The manager was very welcoming and made sure everything was perfect with our order, even my late decision to add jalapeños to my order. Great product and great people!

I have been to almost every Super Duper in SF and frequent its original location. It's one of my fave burgers. I'm not sure if this location's customers preferred a watered-down version or what. During our Double Dipsea hike, we kept talking about coming here afterward. But the burgers and fries were just flavorless. What a let down...

    (2)
  • Steven C.

Very high quality ingredients, but also unnecessarily greasy. I've heard nothing but good things about Super Duper for far too long, so just the other day I thought I'd stop by on my way home from the city to see what all the fuss was about instead of sitting in the daily and unexplainable afternoon traffic jam on 101. I walked in and was greeted with a very friend staff who guided me though my first ordering of american gluttony. I went for broke. 8oz cheese burger, fries with 3 kinds of sauces and a big vanilla shake to solidify the chances of falling asleep behind the wheel driving home. Shortly afterwards I was presented with a tray of mouth watering grease and fat. The burger was huge and messy. I did find that all the ingredients were top notch, but i just found it all way too greasy. Other places have figured out how to make an amazing burger without all the mess which makes super duper just seem behind the times. The fries were above average and the sauces were over priced and boring, but let me tell you where they did win over all the rest. That shake was one of the best simple shakes I've ever had! So I'm sad to say that Super Duper has nothing on Five Guys and is left in the dust by Umami Burger, but its still going to be a good spot to meet up with friends and get your fat on.

I came here for the 1st time last Sunday, and I'm still thinking about the burger I had. I've never had such a hot burger before. It literally came from the grill to the tray to my table and into my mouth all piping hot oozing with juice and steam. I will definitely stop by here whenever I'm in the area. My only gripe is the ice machine was kind of lacking ice and only 1 bathroom for men and 1 bathroom for women for such a busy place.

  • Eric F.

I resisted Super Duper thinking it was just another burger joint. Sadly, I was so wrong. This location and the one on Chestnut Street in the Marina/SF have served me 3 ridiculously-juicy -- dare I say "addictive" -- burgers since last Saturday. Yes, I've made 3 visits to Super Duper in one week after years of ignoring it. It's seriously good. I'm a regular!

We wanted burgers and got them to go. The beef was gristly and overcooked. The were sufficiently bad that even slithering ketchup could not raise them to mediocre. McDonalds has better quality meat. Next time we'll take the time to go to Pearls.

Delicious!!!! My family and I loved it. Totally chill atmosphere, the food is amazing, no complaints at all. The burgers are like home grilled, super juicy, and toppings are free. The fries and shakes take great too. I wish I could've tried the garlic fries. They looked and smelled good. Would definitely recommend.

I have driven past Super Duper many times, but this time I had a major burger craving. I usually go to Phyllis' Giant Burgers but here was a super crowded place right in front of me. I went through the drive thru, 15min tops and had the best service ever. I ordered a Mini burger with bacon and cheese, fries and a milk shake......OMG. To die for, the best ever! It will definately be my #2 burger joint. The employees are great here. What a nice group of workers.

Epic drive-thru fail. No car in front of me. Waited 20 long minutes just for a garden burger and fries. Suggestion: Give drive-thru customers an estimated wait time before orders are taken -- that way, customers can decide if they want to wait or go somewhere else.

Best burgers in Marin. Pricier than other fast food places, but much better flavor and overall quality. Staff never makes errors with orders and are always friendly and welcoming. Definitely prefer super duper to any other place that serves similar burgers in sit down restaurants. Ie BJ's Marin Joes and such.

This place is so good. We stopped by after our hike on mount tam. I got a veggie burger and it was superb. My friends got the burgers and they said they were great. The fries were fantastic. They also have organic milk shakes I wanted to try but we did just go on a hike so didn't want to add all those calories back on! Definitely will be coming back here.

I use the reviews on Yelp to figure out whether I wanted to go into this place and have my lunch. I was very happy to see that they use grass-fed hormone free beef good cheese on the burgers to grill the onions for me they have a soft drink Fri and Burger package will they give you a four ounce burger with all the toppings for under $10 it was pretty cool. If you wanted bacon and cheese like everywhere I went for it. The fries were excellent you could tell they were fresh he tell everything was fresh even the ones that they put the burgers on are artisan buns. Everything was well prepared to meet a really great flavor the prince was fresh they grow up my onions and with the fries and a coke is a perfect combo and under for under 10 bucks that's a great deal. The homemade pickles are awesome they were Spears that were cut into bite size pieces you can help yourself. They have beer there which was also really nice as an option. And dipped cones oh my gosh I haven't seen dipped cones since I was a kid. Highly recommended.

The only drive through in MV I'll do. It took some time before Super Duper MV got it together enough to get back on my radar. My LIKES: Swirl shake & veggie burger. The veggie burger is really messy but good. When I'm cutting calories, I skip the tahini and hummus - but I recommend the veggie burger the way that it is. I prefer it to the burgers - but I'm not big on red meat at all. Also, the Swirl shake is top notch Straus. I usually share a shake from anywhere else, but here - and the Coffee Shop of course. Oh, and I like that they are open kind of late for MV. DISLIKES: salty fries, the wait (excessive for drive through), the chicken (dry), and the salad. I like salad, but their salads are too humble for the price. On second thought, who cares? Few of us drive through for salad anyway...I mean, I would, but I'd still have to get their swirl shake mmmm TIP: check your order before driving off, because mine has been wrong several times now - they fixed it last time.

A-OK. Menu reminds me of Five Guys in that their regular burger is a double patty, and they have a mini with one (a regular sized burger at any other place), and many of the typical add-on items are advertised as free (lettuce, tomato, etc.). Besides that, though, their specialty (non-burger) items include garlic fries, salads, and a chicken sandwich. My burger was fine, but nothing special - I would've been just as happy with a cheeseburger from In-N-Out, but the fries were pretty good. Even better with the chipotle mayo they offer. I wouldn't be opposed to coming back, but it's not the first place I'd think of when craving burgers.

Well I followed the advice of Yelpsters and ordered the Mini Burger even though I'm not a typical follower. $5.00 and cooked the way the restaurant recommends, medium. Got mine with raw red onion and added ketchup at the pickle bar. I sure noticed what appeared to be a burger loaded with grease like the comments and I muttered under my breath "sure is greasy". Boy was I surprised with one of the best tasting burgers I've ever had. They call it juicy and maybe it is that rather than greasy I could not tell for sure but what a great taste. Had an expensive Vanilla shake at $4.75 but it wasn't better than In and Out at $2.10 and they change $5.75 for fresh Strawberry and other flavors except Vanilla and Chocolate at $4.75. Too much for a shake but I suppose its quality ingredients. The workers were all friendly and helpful and were especially helpful when they noticed I had a cane and was struggling somewhat. They brought my food over, brought ketchup and were so helpful I felt like an invited guest at a family dinner. I don't know if these young people learned good manners at home or were trained by the restaurant or were selected by the restaurant for these qualities but it sure worked for me. I'll be back. PS Was here again January 16th 2015 again food was great and we did a takeout order but from inside. I'd strongly suggest to management that they either get girls with strong voices or microphones because you can't communicate because the children from 5 to 12 are so noisy. Most likely because the parents from the Mill Valley entitled and privileged set don't know how to control their children or their dogs or else feel that the dogs and children are also entitled beings are can do whatever they want to do at everyone elses expenses. One solution is to use the drive through window or for inside dining come during non children hours.

I like their hamburgers. They taste really fresh and delicious. The place is so convenient, on my way home. The service is fast and i like to get take-out. My friends are happy when I envite them over and serve them a burger from Super Duper.

Don't let the yelp reviews fool you. You can make a better burger at home. They messed up on multiple orders when we were there, including ours. Even when they fixed our order it was still messed up. Our burgers were so grease, the grease was dripping down my fingers, from my burger, and soaking the wrapper. Now... the fries... Oh the fries, they're more like soggy potatoes, whether or not you ask for well done fries, they should NEVER be that soggy. So far our visit to San Francisco has been filled with delicious and satisfying meals up until this one. They may seem efficient and know what they're doing...but it could be so much better. Also if you want some damn good garlic fries go to Backyard Bayou (best ones I've had Ever!!)

Consistently tasty and well prepared burgers and chicken sandwiches. Good shakes and OK soft serve ice cream. Staff is always friendly and ready to get you what you need. If they had a bit more variety on the menu is bump them up to a five star.

By far one of BEST "fast food" and "gourmet" burgers I've ever had. The meat was tender, juicy and really flavorful. I had the mini and added avocado & jalapeños to it and it was perfection. The homemade pickles were nice and crunchy with a little zing to em. I loved that they serve beer & wine. OMG & their garlic fries!!!!! SO GOOD! I topped it all off with a kids swirl dipped in chocolate, soooo freaking good! A MUST TRY when in the area. (hit this place after our 4hr Muir Woods hike...reward meal ;)

Was enticed by the sign offering organic, chocolate-dipped soft-serve cones. Had the mini burger with cheese and the fixings. The bun was unusual and delicious but the burger as a whole was too greasy. Had a chocolate shake. Should have ordered the kid size as it was one super rich shake. Tasted a friend's garlic fries which were delicious! No employees came out from behind the counter to bus the tables so they were rather icky. And the lady's restroom was in sorry shape. Maybe I got there right after a mad rush. My lunch mates were super happy with everything but I don't think I need to return.

The name should be "Super Disappointing"! For an 8.00 burger I was expecting something tasty but what a I got was a tasteless, boring burger. If I'm going to eat fast food I am sticking with In-n-Out.

Never had a super duper burger but I'm definitely a fan now! Got the super super burger which was around $6... definitely pricey for a burger. When the burger came it looked pretty tiny... after I ate it though, I was stuffed. Burger was nice and juicy, the meat itself was kind of bland... just tasted like beef. Kind of expected some sort of seasoning or a kick for 6 something. Overall, the burger was alright though. Garlic fries were amazing though. Nice, hot, crunchy, and the perfect amount of garlic. I didn't even care about my garlic breath after. I didn't get the shake, but I tried my friends which was good. It wasn't so thick that you were literally slurping until the straw bent... perfect consistency and tasty. I'm a pickle fiend... so when my friend told me that it was unlimited pickles... I think I went a little overboard. Let's just say the jar was full when we got there... when we left... it was... 1/4 full (it wasn't just us though, there 3-5 other parties... if it makes you feel a bit better). But pickles had a nice kick because of the peppers and they were really crunchy... my favorite! Overall, the place was clean and the food here is good. I'm glad there are several of these in the city so I can go to them too!

One of the best burgers we have had. I had the veggie burger which was very tasty. The hand dipped soft serve cone was amazingly good. The service was to notch. They cared about you and about their food. My son loved the pickles, which are self serve. If you are lucky you get a clove of garlic which was also tasty. We wish they had a location in Southern California.

The burgers and fries are like heaven on earth. This burger is the most amazing burger I have ever had. I first tried this burger in San Francisco. I very impressed with the quality of burger patty. The freshest of the ingredients on the burger. I had the phillycheese burger. This burger had swiss cheese with grilled onions. I also order garlic fries. Everything was amazing. A few weeks after the first time we went to the one in Mill Valley which was amazing too. I just go the regular burger with peppers and pickles. I wish this Super Duper Burger was closer to the freeway. It take a long time to get to this location.

Always a favorite spot when up in the Bay Area... Soon makes me forget about In-n-Out. The garlic fries are excellent, and so are the shakes! The burgers are on the juicy side... Perfect.

Outstanding burgers ,friendly front counter, and the prices are not bad at all. I enjoyed their garlic fries and bacon burger and my daughter scarfed down her mini burger. I will be coming back often.

The veggie burgers are good... fries and shakes are yummy too. A little overpriced, but happy to spend a little extra $ supporting a place that believes in using local ingredients (including grass fed beef - even if I don't personally eat beef). Service is satisfactory. Very kid friendly!

This...Place...Is...AWESOME! Milkshakes made from Straus Milk? HECK YES! Veggie Burgers that are not microwaved and have an amazing flavor? HECK YES! Homemade Pickles? HEEEECCCKKK YESSS!!! My dad and boyfriend said the burger was great too. Also garlic fries! Who doesn't love garlic fries!

  • Anwar H.

Wow, I've been looking for a great burger place for the longest time... and this is it! Grass fed beef, organic chicken, organic ice creams and shakes... music to my ears and taste buds. This place is fantastic. The burgers are medium rare and just melt in your mouth juicy. Get the super burger (with Jalepenos for some extra spice). Add the chocolate milk shake to this and I'm back to my 8 year old self again! ;) ... and to add icing to the cake for my sustainability self.. all the trash is compostable at the restaurant... they believe in zero waste. Can't wait to make an excuse to go back!

By the looks of it this place has a ton of reviews so I will keep it short and sweet. Their burgers are not too bad however, there a little on the greasy side. The sauce they use on their burgers is okay, but their fries were kind of bland too me. I also got two drinks here to go and they were really small. I might come back, someday.

I tried this place when it first opened and must have forgotten everything. The burger itself...the super duper is 8 oz. OMG. There is a mini burger which I didn't notice on the menu which I will try next time. 8 oz is a LOT of burger. The $10.31 price tag should have been a clue. No salt, and a lot of lot of grease. Whew. I couldn't finish the burger but it was an ok burger just way too big for me. Fries are pretty good, but also enough for 2 people. I notice other people call the burger "juicy" I still insist the word is "greasy" which is fine I suppose because it is a burger, not a salad. I think the bun should be firmer or at least hold up better. Mine was mush after a couple of bites. A zillion times better than In and Out...that's for sure. Oh and I'm not a fan of mustard but they gave me what looked like a vat of mustard and only the teeniest bit of ketchup. Pickles are good and crunchy. Supposedly there was "super sauce" (or did they say "secret sauce" ?) but I didn't see any on my burger. It couldn't have been "secret sauce" because they told me the ingredients in that sauce without hesitating. I'm a tough critic and I have to say their burger is pretty good. When I have that craving for a burger in a year from now, I might go back. The staff is very enthusiastic which is nice.

Disgusting burgers because they use a filler that makes the meat soft and mushy. Will never return.

  • Christine R.

Super expensive, easily a $15 burger with a combo order, especially if you add a la carte items i.e., avocado, bacon, peppers, etc. You're lucky to get lettuce and sauce free. The Mill Valley location has a drive-thru, they always mess up my orders. They either put cheese on a no-cheese burger or vice versa arrrrgggghhhh! p.s. The Counter is much better with a nicer ambiance & tv's to watch your favorite sport...go Niners, Giants, Sharks, Warriors, etc. A variety of shakes with a shot of love ;-)

    (2)
  • Lena T.

Yes, the drive through is finally working like it should, we get our orders right.

  • Ryan Y.

At first $7 sounded a bit pricey for a double patty burger that was smaller than I expected, but the burger did the job. The patties were cooked perfectly and had a good beef flavor. The juices will be dripping so grab a napkin or two! Oh and the bun had a nice toast also. Had some of my friend's garlic fries and they were great. The fries are not overwhelmed with garlic and are topped with freshly grated Parmesan. I'm always down for a good burger and I'm glad there isn't a Super Duper Burgers around Sacramento or Davis because I would definitely be inhaling these burgers on a daily.

  • Marty R.

Okay, I grant that I was hungry. The catering at the event I had just attended provided a shrimp, a cucumber and a teeny egg roll per person. So when I drove by Super Duper my self preservation mode kicked in and I u-turned. Wow was I glad I did. I totally enjoyed my Super Duper burger. It was thick, juicy and tasted meaty. The bun got moist from all the juice. Some other reviewers didn't like that. Deal with it. Eat faster. This was a burger the way a burger should be. Really at some point a burger just is as good as it can be. This one was right there. Good fries too. But who cares. That burger...yum!!! Hurry, hurry to Novato Super Duper. And Yelpers, please no more camparisons between Super Duper and the burger factory, Smash. Smash isn't in the same league. Not even in the same business.

  • Michael M.

The veggie burger was very good. The regular burgers were not good. I found some small chunks of grizzle-like stuff in mine. My son looked at his while eating it and we saw two 2" strips of something other than meat, looked like the stuff that comes off the burger while being cooked and is usually discarded. Very unpleasant. They need better quality control of the burger meat and the cooking process.

  • Liz S.

I like to think of Super Duper Burgers as a fancier In-N-Out. The mini burger is a nice size, but they've really sold me on their fries and milkshakes - YUM! I ordered a burger for my mom and forgot she's unable to eat sesame seeds so she brought it up to the girl at the counter and they swapped the standard bun out for a ciabatta roll at no extra charge. If this place was in a more convenient location/more accessible I think it would attract a lot more customers, otherwise it's only worth going to if you're already in the area.

This place always hits the spot on a Friday for lunch. The first Super Duper I went to was the one in SF on Chestnut, introduced to me by my good friend Alexi. Both spots are nice but the one in MV is close to work and nicer overall because its bigger & has outdoor seating. These burger joints are the kind where you get in line order your food pick up your drinks, ketchup, napkins, and of coarse home made pickles. Now that i think of it, it's like an elevated In & Out with free pickles. Like the pickles, the restaurant ain't your average pickled cucumber. That's right they are both above average and then sum. The menu seems simple but there's more to it then just what you see on the board. I usually always get the mini. With everything plus a slice o' cheese please. That includes their 'super sauce', lettuce, tomato, & red onion. If I remember I'll order it with grilled onions instead and add bacon and an over easy egg. You can also have your pick of cheese. That's a lot of burger and yes it can get messy. I like to add more ketchup & mustard to mine on top of all that. To complete the meal i also get the fries -sometimes garlic and a shake - always smooth and creamy. Everything is fresh and it sure tastes that way. The service has always been friendly & helpful. I'm a fan thus the 5 star rating. Reading the online menu & other reviews can make ordering what you want a bit more helpful & informative. Like asking for extra crispy fries is something that I wouldn't ever imagine asking, but apparently you can if you like. Also the same reviewer mentioned adding more salt or seasoning to the juicy organic niman ranch beef patty.. I think it's a good suggestion or you can do what I do. Add lots of ketchup.

It's nice to know that my town finally has a place to get burgers that are neither chain store quality nor $15 creations. The burgers here are great - - delicious, moist concoctions served on a tasty bun with all the fixin's. They are utterly satisfying and better than most of the fancy, expensive burgers that restaurants serve. No one in my family is disappointed on those nights that I don't feel l like cooking and the words "Super Duper" come out of my mouth.

Delicious burger; every bite was juicy & very flavorful, Niman beef. Choc shake & root beer float were both excellent; made with local Straus Dairy soft serve ice cream. My second visit here and first time eating inside where I discovered the homemade pickles (serve yourself). The type of fries they serve is not my #1 favorite--I like frites/steak fries--but these were good for the thin & tender type. There was room for a tip on my debit card bill but I thought "Fast food? Burger? No". However after enjoying my lunch I went back and paid a tip. Why? Because the staff was cheerful and they keep the place really clean and neat. My drink was served in a real glass and brought to my table. I like their commitment: humanely raised meat, some local products, compostable serving-ware, and I like the way they treat their customer. I'll be back.

Wow - so happy to have discovered this place in Marin! As a vegetarian, it can be challenging to find a good veggie burger but found one I have. The addition of hummus, cucumber and (optional) jalapeno peppers are key. Also, it's not too greasy like you'll find in other burger joints. (My wife loved her beef burger, as well.) The garlic fries, with aged cheddar, are also delicious and not too greasy. You can add 3 dips (supersauce, homemade mayo, chipotle) with it ($1.50 extra) to create new flavors. Additionally, they have fresh-brewed iced tea, which is rare to find these days. 100% compostable packaging, indoor/outdoor seating and easy parking wrap up the experience. This is the place to go in Marin for your burger cravings.

Super Duper... nothing "super" about it. In all seriousness, went through the drive through, it took about 25 minutes though no one else was there. Cheeseburger had rotten lettuce and was drenched in what tasted like a miracle whip/mayo combo with orange food coloring. Burger was soggy and tasteless, like chewing a big moist sponge that keeps crumbling as you eat it. Lemonade was marigold yellow and tasted like tap water that someone sprayed lemon merengue flavor spray onto. Just go to in-n-out.

Let's face it.... Organic burgers are amazing!

  • Benjamin C.

I'm a skinny fry kinda guy and the fries here were crispy thin, uber garlicky, and cheddary cheesy... all things I like, even though they do me a disservice in the kissing department after lunch. I'm also a pickley kinda guy and their home-made pickles were super! (though just short of duper)! The pickles were dilly dandy and crispy but a hint of tangy sweetness makes it seem like the cucumbers needed a bit more time to soak. They're cut up in uneven crisps, and free to serve yourself in buffet barrel jars. As for the burgers- toasted artisanal sesame buns sure make my buns toasty, and the meat is grilled to medium perfection. Tastes like a winner! The unfortunate truth- there's grease... a "healthy" amount of it. Now I don't mind a layer of burger moisturizer, but no, I would never eat these burgers in my car. Oh, and the super-sauce... it's a thin dressing... highly recommended because it gives the burger 37.2% more flavor... you will appreciate this, even though it adds more drip drop drips. The staff is friendly and patient, particularly with newcomers. The menu is simple and pointy. I mean, to the point. Oh, and I appreciate that the costs of foods are rounded off to the nearest quarter... no penny tips here! Still, a bit on the slightly pricier side. I wonder how much they pay the cows. Super shakes are great: better than good but not particularly excellent. A tad sweet for me... but hey, I like pickles... what do I know about shakes? So people ask: how does this compare with In-N-Out? Well... they're in the same realm, but two different cultures. My So(ul) Cal-founded In-N-Out is friendlier to wallets, similar in taste/freshness, and less messy to enjoy... but this place has pickles, vegetarian cows, and artisanal buns... it's a Bay Area thing, after all. The atmosphere of the restaurant- casual, clean, bright, and airy. It's got that grey foggy city look... can't explain it... but I get a kick out of that retro metro design. All in all, an A-OK burger purveyor- the slow-food brother of fast-food. It's a great place for locals to hang around but as a visitor to the region, I'm glad to have tried it once. It's a good place in which to casually eat when I'm close by, but I wouldn't drive very far just to eat here.

One of the best super duper burgers I've had so far. Probably better than than 5 guys and in and out. I called ahead for pick up and my Burger was still warm. Usually at other places, they either wait to cook your food when you get there or cook the burger way too early where the bread gets hard and the burger is cold. Service was fast and friendly. Was also surprised they serve beer and homemade pickles. Can you guys open a super duper in the east bay?

The best burger I ate so far. Love the mini burger and shakes here! The only thing I miss about Mill Valley.

Super Duper has a huge parking lot (fromer jack's?) but there's no parking spaces available. there also weren't many patrons here either. inside the kitchen were over a dozen employees and/or associates. hmmmmm decor: no hint jack was here unless one is familiar with the layout. i'm not. mostly brown benches and tables. eats: super duper 1/2 lb. 2 patties, with everything (6.5), ordered medium rare -they use niman ranch beef, seem lumpy. -outsides overcharred. insides medium, juicy with grease not juice. -didn't taste the "everything much" -burger probably better with cheese (,50) -maybe medium rare would have tasted good. maybe 3.5 stars foodnotes: -organic soft serve available (straus 3.25) -overall tastes, a charred feeling..mixed.... -all the associated were hispanic, just saying, very good service too.. -home mad pickles available.... -near 2 no lines, burger in 5 minutes.

I Love the burgers, wine, garlic fries and yes, the people. Sadly, this place is so freaking loud. When there is a pan or glass dropped--the whole place hears it. I go to the other Super Duper's in the city.....the Mill Valley place is different. Well, it was once a Jack in the Box. Love the food just not the noise!!!

After leaving Muir Woods we were craving burgers. Found this on Yelp. Family of four with two teens. Everyone gave it a four. We all had mini burgers with various toppings. Super juicey fresh ground patty was amazing! We all said it needed something... the awesome patty needed some salt. Definitely get your fries extra crispy. Excellent. Kids loved the shakes. My wife didn't care for the lemonade, but I thought it was great. Fresh squeezed. We didn't care for the pickles but I must say I have never had a pickle with that flavor and I found it interesting. Teens had chocolate and Oreo shakes and said they were great. We paid around $45 for four of us. We all ended up getting kids size dipped cones. That was around $11 more dollars. Definitely hit our craving for burgers. We were so hungry we didn't pause for photos We'll be back!

  • Gabrielle D.

Perfect burger.... it's so nice to get a burger that is already perfectly put together - sauce, fix-ins and everything is well-layerd, not clumped! The taste is juicy and pretty much all that one would want for a good old fashioned burger! I'll definitely be coming there again. Furthermore - garlic fries are ideally crispy & the shakes are to die for! ** the ONLY reason why i didnt give 5 stars is because there wasn't other options for cheese rather than cheddar (which is classic & tasty!) - and I'm not a fan of metal chairs (because they make you cold!), but again, it's classic! Thanks Super Duper Burger for a great experience and one that I'll be sure to come back for!! PS. GREAT staff :)

  • Alisa L.

After all the hype I've been hearing finally decided to give this place a shot. There was nothing super nor duper about it. Burger and fries were undeseasoned and you can barely taste the secret sauce. We got the three dips for our fries. It was basically 3 tiny squirts of barely variable in taste mayos. I have no idea how they charge anything for that. Should just come free w order. They forgot to give it to us too. I will take In N' Out any day for 1/3 of the price.

    (2)
  • Cindi W.

Not bad. I went here in October with hubby. It is really expensive though....for what we got. I still like it, I will go back but I will not get extras like drinks and fries and salads cause you pay a lot for those

  • Mary B.

Why get a veggie burger at a burger joint? Because it is better than making a Whole Foods burger with all the fixings, making fries and a shake. I do not miss eating red meat but I did miss eating a good burger-like meal with fries and shake. This satisfies that need with a good burger, fries and shake. Good service too.

  • Barbra K.

Super Duper will be taking over the world soon, they make the best burgers I have ever had, hands down. Thank you for opening up the drive through, so great! I can't say enough good things about this place, I am a repeat customer, thanks!

  • J K.

I don't eat meat or poultry so I can't speak about those options but I love their garlic fries and veggie burger. I like that their ingredients are local and more healthful. I appreciate that the ice cream is organic. No one should eat non-organic dairy foods.

  • Lost B.

It was okay. Ordered a veggie burger and garlic fries spouse ordered chicken burger. Our total for just those three items was $17 and change. I was disappointing because come on, with a name like SUPER DUPER , you go in expecting more right off the bat. Here is a tip, name your place something like "Meh burger" then people will be like," OMG that was so yummy they are crazy with that name!"

I am putting one star because they made a mistake. When I asked for a veggie burger they gave me a beef burger and I ate it and I am a vegetarian!!!!! I changed it because the manager personally sent me a gift card and over all I love SUPER DUPER! you should also try some of their pickles and dipped cones. Their good quantity but I would lower the price a bit.

After a couple of months of not going here (due to the 7 pounds I gained after my initial spree), I returned as that burger was shouting my name so loudly in my brain. Unfortunately this time it tasted absoluely nothing like the previous dozen or so burgers I had there. The flavor was entirely off and the meat didn't seem like the same meat or the same kind of grind. I will give it another try as I know everyplace has a bad day sometimes. But I felt it my duty to include this experience so as to not lead fellow yelpers astray.

The burgers are delicious and greasy, as burgers should be. I really looking forward to trying one of there spiked milkshakes as well! My only complaint is the young staff seems to be inconsistent and it's so dark and loud inside. Always makes me want to take my food to go, which is fine, but I would like to enjoy the place every once in awhile.

  • Horst S.

Met friends for lunch here on Sunday, and I was not overly impressed. Burgers are OK, fries are OK. The highlight is really the home-made pickles! The prices are extremely high IMHO. The beef is good quality, but it doesn't taste like much, and it was on the well side of medium and gray burgers are not my favorite. The staff are very nice, and the outdoor dining is a big plus, but I doubt I will repeat. Ultimately, it made me miss the Jack in the Box that used to be in this location when I was growing up in MV...

  • Sarah G.

Reasons why I love this place: 1. It is a simple menu 2. It always fills my random craving for a burger 3. They have a veggie option for my friend I usually end up going with The mini burger is perfect for me; not too much food and I can get a variety of the 'normal' fixings on it. The fact that I can get a beer to go with my meal makes it better. And then ice cream for dessert??? Heaven. Plus it is right across the street from my chiropractors office which makes it easy to get to when I am in town for an appointment and a quick lunch. All for a great meal under 10 dollars. The staff is always friendly and smiling, and for me that goes a long way.

Had a great hike for 3 hrs at Muir Woods and came out through Mill Valley. My hubby & I both thought that this was the best burger that we've had in a very long time! It definitely was a quality burger and so yummy with the grilled onions on it that it didn't need any condiments on it at all. Had fries (delish) and the green salad. Will definitely be back to Super Duper very soon. Can't wait to try the milkshakes!

Hands down my favorite burger in Marin County. I've tried them all and there are some really good burgers in Marin. Organic, locally sourced ingredients and pasture beef. The super burgers are amazing, but plenty of food. Most people can get away with the minis. The garlic fries are ridiculously good. The veggie burgers and salads are pretty damn good too. Prices are good. Beer on tap is a plus! As is a drive thru. WHAT? Yes a drive thru and the staff has always been great.

  • Nina A.

Yummy, but inconsistent ice cream sizing and consistency... the burger i was so excited for...had a hair! already had it home so didn't do much about it regarding feedback to SD Burger at the time...I do go back for ice cream and fries though.

  • Kira M.

Garlic fries are always spot on. Always clean, everything is compostable, good service, consistently delicious food. Can't go wrong! More expensive than in-n-out, but great selection. Love the mini milkshake option, and adding an egg to my burger.

I spotted the bright orange trappings of Super Duper as I was pulling onto the Marin Theatre parking lot. I'm always a sucker for something new, especially if it has the possibility of providing me with a favorite new french fry. It was still on my mind over three hours later, so I decided to pop in for a post-show snack. It was late and I was tired, so it probably took me a few minutes longer that it should to figure out that the drive-thru isn't operational yet. It didn't help thst there was a car at the pick up window. It turns out that you can call ahead and drive up to get your order. Once I figure all that out (with the help of the guy at the window), I backed up and parked so I could go in. I really liked the menu. It was small enough to not be overwhelming and big enough to offer some real options. I was really happy to see two different vegetarian options (portobello mushroom and a veggie pattie with hummus), and multiple shake options (chocolate chip!). I opted to try the super burger, mostly because I had skipped dinner. It was a mistake, simply because it was a whole lotta food, especially since I had added bacon. In the future, I will most likely opt to have the mini. Once you start piling on all the trimmings (tomato! lettuce! red onion!) it gets thick quickly. Even though the one I ordered was a beast to eat, it was really juicy and delicious. The veggies were super fresh, especially the lettuce which was lovely (not wilty), and the proportions were dead on. When it come to their burgers, they actually live up to their name. When it comes to the fries, I was less than impressed. They were cold, limp, and really flavorless. Since I slipped in just before closing, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and postulate that their fries might be much improved when they're fresh out of the fryer. My friend really liked the lemonade (made with real brown sugar!), and I have to say the staff was super friendly, especially for folks who were just minutes away from closing.I suspect this will be one of my casual go to spots when I happen to be in Mill Valley.

we were traveling from san mateo to fairfax after having spent some time doing touristy things in san francisco, and decided to get off 101 and find something to eat. we happened on super duper burgers. i figured, in mill valley, a burger place would have to be good to survive. and it is. good. in fact, it's excellent. had their chicken sandwich with chipotle aioli and jack cheese. the chicken breast was juicy, fat-free, moist. wasn't crazy abt the sauce or marinade, not sure which, but it was a great chicken sandwich, nonetheless. hubby had the mini burger (very good) and a chocolate shake. loved the homemade pickles and the down-home feel of the place. told our fairfax friends abt super duper and they're gonna give it a try, as well!!

My sons LOVE Super Duper & Smash. I like the Super salad with chicken and avocado. The garlic fries will make your car smell for days! Wrech.

Excellent quality for an under $10 meal. Super Duper is what I wish In-and-out were. Burgers have a real beef flavor you'd usually get in a real restaurant rather than a fast food place. The fries are also good as are pickles and sauces. I haven't tried deserts or shakes. It's so hard to find decent savory foods for modest prices. I strongly differ with the lesser reviews.

Writing my review from the summer since I just got released from the hospital! The food was excellent but the customer service was horrendous! They literally treat you like a prisoner the moment you step into the restaurant. I believe the cashier there who served me was named Trevor or some such. He wouldn't make any eye contact with me and sarcastically made a reference to the LGBT tank-top I was wearing. I won't be coming here any longer.

i have to say that this location is so much better than the one in sf...maybe it's cause of the location? sf does have ridiculous lines and that tends to mess with the quality of food. this mill valley location is normally pretty chill. i've never had to wait longer than 10 mins for my food. and for some reason...the burgers taste better here. the burgers were juicier, dressed well, and came out piping hot. the homemade pickles are the same all around...and well, the fries just aren't that great at either location in my opinion. but...the shakes and cones are ridiculous...gotta love the strauss touch. i come here just for a late night cone. the drive through might be confusing for some peeps...especially those who are not technically savvy. take the safeway self check outs for example...so here at this location, you have to punch in your own order and head towards the window. the people that work here are super friendly...great experiences all around. would i say that these are the best burgers ever? no way. but it's good for what it is...and i'd only come here if pearl's is closed.

INFINITELY more delicious than Umami Burger's $12-15 ripoffs. Tasty, quality beef, top-notch pickles, crispy fries, reasonable price, speedy service. What more can you ask for?

I tried super duper the first week it was open, and I was a bit disappointed. My medium rare burger was overcooked, and the fries were "rare", (not cooked enough). I was in a hurry so no time to send it back..... I want to believe they were working out the bugs but i don't want to chance it by going back. Try weezy's in Terra Linda for the best burger in Marin.

Randomly one day I went into this place and ordered a veggie burger. It was by far the best one I have had a at a fast food joint. Normally they are made of a beans or other kind of tasteless items...not this one. Extremely good and tasty. I also really like their fries and shakes. Minus one star because their drive through is not fast or convenient.

Wow, last time i was here, i left because the line was sooooo long. This time the line was short so i stopped in. That was my mistake. How do they get both the very expensive burgers and the fries to have the texture of saw dust and the flavor of cardboard? Sad, oh well. In - Out has it all over these guys.

Haven't gotten my order right, even a single time. I'm not joking. I've won bets based on their horrible service. I mean, how hard is it to get it right, really? Especially when I'm paying $20 for a cheeseburger, fries, and a milkshake. McDonald's circa 4 AM literally gets my order right with more frequency than super duper burger. It doesn't help that they err on the side of less food ($20 for a cheeseburger and fries). I don't want to be cruel, but it's literally ALWAYS wrong. Staff need better training or something.

5 stars for their good quality food. My brother and I ordered the veggie burger which tasted fantastic, first veggie burger that had actually veggies in it. From what I had before from different places was I had know idea what it was.. Didn't even know if it was veggies? Anyways, their veggie burgers are good! Their garlic fries to me were perfect and I loved it. As for my parents I don't know what they ordered but they enjoyed their burgers as well! Oh! Can't forget about their pickles!! Love it! Everything was small portions, which I love because I don't eat in big portions anymore. Loved how it was the right amount of food! :) Clean place in a clean lovely area!

I think that battle for the best coast burgers should really lie between Shake Shack (East Coast) and Super Duper (West Coast). I love In 'n Out but I feel like these two joints are much more similar. They both offer a temperature variety on their burgers (@ Super Duper you can get it medium rare or medium well) and their shakes are heavenly. With that said, I've been to 2 different Super Duper locations (The Castro and Mill Valley) and both provided the same stellar customer service, delicious shakes, and juicy burgers. They also had beer and wine available. If you're an East Coast transplant like myself (moved from Philly to SF 3mos ago) and you're in need of a Shake Shack Style burger and shake fix, look no further than Super Duper!

Came in today to order some dinner. I order my burger well done and specifically asked for it to be well done since I have a weak stomach. I get home just to find its really read not just in a few spots. The upsetting thing isn't that is red it's more so that on my receipt it says well done on it. :( now I have to dine somewhere else. But I gave the manager a call and the Manager seemed to have alot of pride in her store and quality control and made me feel real welcome to comeback. 1 mistake that almost lost a customer was resolved by a great manager. Thanks and we'll be back.

After a crazy active day of trail running Muir Woods in the morning, bicycling Berkeley in the afternoon, & hiking around Mt. Tam in the evening, the increasingly urgent need for nourishment was squeezing my stomach like a tightening vise. Having driven by this Super Duper on the way up to Mt. Tam, it was certainly on my mind on the way back down. I hadn't yet tried Super Duper & now was the time. There aren't many spaces in the parking lot, but I got lucky & scored the last 1. It was pretty busy, with most of the tables inside & out in the front patio already taken. Looking over the menu posted above & behind the counter, I decided it would take the Super Burger to quell my beastly hunger. That's because, at that time, the chalkboard menu listed the Super Burger as 2 8oz. patties. Wow, that thing sounded like a monster! I added Garlic Fries &, since there's beer on tap, a Racer 5. After grabbing a seat at the end of a long communal table with some patrons sitting on the other end, I noticed the pickles. Hmmm, don't mind if I do. You know what? Those pickles are really, really good. Like some of the best pickles I've ever had. & there's jars & jars & jars of those pickles, so I chowed down a bunch. My order didn't take long. When I got it, I was a bit puzzled. The Super Burger looked small. Looking up their menu online, the Super Burger is listed as 2 4oz. patties. That's more consistent with what I got. It's a simple misunderstanding. I think the chalkboard menu was trying convey that it's 2 patties for 8oz. total, though I don't think it conveyed that info clearly. No big deal. I'll get over it. Truthfully, though, there was a 1st impression that the burger was smaller than advertised. Size expectations aside. The overall quality of the burger was pretty good. The bread for the buns was excellent & was the best component of the burger. The toppings were fresh. The beef patties, while juicy & imbued with great grill flavor, could've been better because they weren't cooked to temperature. The menu says all burgers are cooked to medium. The patties on my Super Burger were cooked to medium well. Yes, I'm being picky. But hitting temperature is a big part of what separates an outstanding burger from all the other good burgers out there. & for about $8, I want an outstanding burger. I've heard comparisons of Super Duper to In-N-Out. For $8 & a medium well cook, I'd rather have 2 Double-Doubles. Rounding out the meal, the Garlic Fries, with heaping slivers of garlic & cheese, were fantastic. Rating what I ate individually (1-5 stars): burger patties = 3.5 stars, Super Burger overall = 4 stars, Garlic Fries = 4.5 stars, pickles = 5 stars. Because the burger is supposed to be the star of the meal, I'll go with 4 stars overall for this Super Duper. Don't overcook those patties & this could've been 5 stars. & to clarify, the Super Burger is 2 4oz. patties for 8oz. total.

In the words of Borat, "wa-wa wee wa wa" it was so tasty! Juicy flavorful burgers with great fixins. There is both indoor and outdoor seating which is great. I love that they had full burger options as well as salads with fresh lettuce and veggies which weren't wilted or over-dressed. Its also great to see that they make their own pickles, which had great flavor. I would recommend any of the menu options as they were just that tasty!

There are a lot of things to love about Super Duper Burger, and then a few things to just like. Absolutely loved their pop graphic design, great modern roadside feel, hip architecture, California music blaring and family friendly atmosphere with craft beer ethos. Also lovable was their in-house pickling, use of Strauss Family ice cream, and simple straightforward menu. Appreciated their recycled paper products and green ethos. Where else can you get a soft serve these days? Nice touch. I love that they have a drive through at such a relatively gourmet burger spot. Unexpected. Salad options at a burger spot are nice to see. (But can I get a milkshake with that?) The fries are good. The veggie burger is tiny (same size as their mini-burger) but fresh made and very tasty if ordered with jack cheese and all the fixings (including the house made pickles.) Its hard to say, "no" to a Stauss vanilla soft serve cone made to order and dipped in chocolate. (The kid's size is plenty big.) Sadly for me, their burgers are just a "like." Good components --the bun, the sauce, the cheese, the quality of the meat, but as a preference thing, I'd rather have one nice big burger with color gradation (medium rare) to an ultra thin patty (4 oz.) that is so thin that its always going to be cooked to medium. Their bigger burger, is just a double patty version of their smaller burger. True the toppings are nice, but for me, I like a bigger burger. I simply like a nice, thick-ish medium rare. I like to live dangerously. Well below a like, the garlic fries were over oily and doused in garlic: too wobbly and not enough crisp. Again, preference. I am also not a fan of their chicken sandwich, because the chipotle mayo was all I could taste when I ordered it. A lukewarm feel about being approached during our meal by a well-meaning customer service guy. While I completely appreciate the intent there, it admittedly felt a little odd to have someone cheering me on mid-bite and proclaiming gleefully, "Isn't that a terrific burger!?!" More peppy questions ensued. Like Marlene Deitrich, especially when eating fast food, "Sometimes, I just want to be left alone."

This SDB is located in beautiful Mill Valley - a stand alone restaurant with plenty of parking and a drive-thru. They have outdoor seating with a gorgeous garden of succulents as well as indoor seating that has a little bit of a colder feel to it because of the cement seating, flooring, etc. The staff is okay, but not as great as the customer service I've received at the SDB in downtown SF. Onto the best part, aka the food. In the few times I've had a SDB, I normally get the mini burger - because that alone with an order of garlic fries is enough. They have a convenient combo available that has the typical burger, fries, and drink - and for an extra charge, they can do garlic fries for you (trust me, you want the garlic fries). For a meal for 2, with a mini burger and regular burger both with everything on it plus bacon and cheese, it comes out to about $30 (YIKES). This is definitely not a cheap spot for burgers. Albeit it's pretty delicious. Highly recommended! Next time I'm going to try their fresh strawberry milkshake. Their oreo milkshake was meh - the one at jack in the box is better LOL.

Best thing about this Super Duper location is they have parking! It also helps that they are less then 15 minutes from my house in San Francisco. Yes, it's totally worth the $6 cover charge to get back into the city for parking. What ever burger you get remember to add the bacon and egg. The bacon with the extra layer of fat and the comfort of the egg push this great burger over the top. Let me just say, if this burger doesn't end up on your list of best fast food burgers then you should probably just not read any more of my reviews. We have a serious disagreement on what justifies a good burger. Garlic Cheese Fries are where it's at. You know your girlfriend will hate you for it but trust me, its worth it! She'll let you kiss her again in a couple days.

Found this place accidentally and boy was this a pleasant surprise! Veggie burger: very flavorful Mini burger: not so mini and did not taste like drive-thru at all! Garlic fries with aged cheddar: way better than some fries from the ball game! Pickles: not for me but my daughter and husband loved them. Their buns are so fluffy! Now I wish I ordered a milkshake !

So I have to update my review. I went there again and boy did I make a mistake...... I'm so full, trying to focus on work is like trying to focus on work when you are really full......... I had a generous helping of their pickles and it was extremely good. This place unfortunately doesn't have doughnuts like the other places but it works in my favor because I was full. If they had doughnuts, I would have eaten them regardless and I would feel bad about it later. The garlic fries were a bit too much for me so next time I'm going to get regular fries. All the staff there is very friendly and it's an amazing place. The burgers are the perfect size and everything is built to perfection. Also, if you ask the person taking your order to say your order again in the form of a rap song, the whole staff will stop and drop some beats while busting out your order like a rapper that is rapping.

Thank god we had a horrible experience at Tamalpie down the street. Instead of pizza we did burgers with or large group, and had an awesome time. Staff is super and they make the busy experience great. Milkshakes for kids and beer and wine for parents. Highly recommend and short walk from Tamalpie.

I should have done a review earlier this year but I completely forgot. The ingredients are super fresh and tasty... this is probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Wished I lived closer to Mill Valley so I could have it more frequently! Please expand into the East & South Bay!!!

These burgers are awesome , mini burger is perfect size ! All the sides to get on it too! Garlic fries with three dipping sauces was so tasty! I don't even like shakes and the chocolate shake rocked ! Open a restaurant in midtown Sacramento please!

Why can't they expand to Orange County :((?! I get this 2-3 times whenever I'm in NorCal and it makes in n out seem like McDonald's. Their burgers are so fresh and tender, garlic fries are amazing, and their shakes are so fresh!!! I love this location because it's in quiet little mill valley, I've also been to the Financial District location and the service was better there but the atmosphere is nicer in Mill Valley. Ask for Oreo cookie shavings on your chocolate shake, you're welcome.

Came here after a 5 hr hike to the waterfalls! The place is small and quaint with friendly service to start :) Ordered the super burger with everything on it along with the garlic fries - and they were really tasty! Have to agree that both are extremely greasy (the last garlic fries were drowning in oil) so you'll have to gauge whether that's something you are into. Another thing is that the burgers are rather small so you may need to order a few if you can inhale a Chipotle burrito without much thought. Also, their ice cream is made with Strauss milk - you can definitely taste the difference!

My three, tough, don't-take-no-for-an-answer nephews (8, 7, and 3 years of age) like choosing restaurants when their favorite uncle (hold your applause) comes to visit. Upon this trip, they swore by Super Duper Burgers. Wait...burgers that are "super" AND "duper," you say? Bring it! But what do they know? They're kids, right? Well... They may not understand Artisanal Buns or Sustainably-farmed, Vegetarian-fed Beef that is ground daily. They could probably care less as to whether or not Pickles are Homemade or that Soft Serve Ice Cream is Organic. And if the Chicken is "Farm Fresh" or "Free Range," or if Cookies and Pecan Pies are "Home Baked," probably makes no difference to them at all. They can't yet fathom a Spiked Shake (thankfully), and added that Super Duper's packaging is also 100% compostable...well, their priorities lie elsewhere, sorry. However... My nephews, they DO understand taste! They know Garlic Fries with three Dipping Sauces: Super Sauce, Homemade Mayo, and Chipotle. They know "kid-sized" shakes, swirled with both vanilla AND chocolate. They know "juicy," and these burgers are just that! They know "everything on it" (hold the onions.) And if pushed too far--careful now!--they may undoubtedly introduce you to "messy." Man, they grow up quickly! Great choice, boys! Who loves you, huh? Love, Uncle Craig

This pickles here are amazing. Do not leave here without trying them. I thought the burgers here were good. It's kind of a neat burger joint. You get real glasses for your drink, you get a little pager to take back to your seat so they aren't screaming out numbers all day. All your trash can be recycled... I accidentally threw mine out and then read the sign. Shakes here are pretty amazing too. We were staying at a local hotel and just wanted to find a good burger and a quick lunch and this place was perfect.

Went here after a fantastic hike up Muir Woods and the Dip sea trail (I recommend that while I'm at it). Good lord. This burger. I promise, it was not a I'm-so-hungry-anything-tastes-good moment. It exceeded expectations. I got the cheeseburger with grilled onions. It was messy in that burger juice and too big for your mouth kind of way. Love. The fries. Omg. The literal best fries I've had. Whatever cheesy, garlic magic they use probably erased all the calories I burned that day but it was worth it. Just try them. I can't put it into words. The chicken burger was good. Perhaps because I had already taken some bites out of my burger, the flavor just wasn't on par. Not that it was bad but how can u compete poor chicken burger? Definitely worth a visit. Burgers are one of those things that can be very mediocre (fast food status) or super high end (truffle it up!) and this lovely burger carries the flavor fit for nice restaurants at a decent, cafe style price.

The burger was well cooked and had really good flavor, not dry and the fries where also very good. I have to say that it was the perfect recovery meal after a long day of riding in Mill Valley.

Can I just knock out the five stars and give this place a standing ovation? It was that good. The garlic fries are arguably the best garlic fries I ever had, and I get them everywhere I am if they are served. They came with a generous offering of garlic and parmesan - I can still taste them now. I damn near hyperventilated with excitement when I saw them. The burger too, was to be celebrated. It was juicy, flavorful-had gooey cheese- add that with their homemade pickles, I was in love. It was a most satisfying meal. My only regret is not getting more. These people make homemade lemonade with brown sugar...brown sugar people! I also wanted to try the shakes which looked good. The facilities where very clean as far as fast food restaurants go- as far as finer restaurants go. The staff was also fast and nice enough. Super Duper Burger, you're the real MVP. :)

This was my 2nd time visiting Super Duper with the one in San Francisco being my first. I had the chicken sandwich this time and thought it was pretty good but I wasn't dying over it. I still enjoyed the veggie burger with hummus better. I also do not like the fries at super duper at all so don't ruin your diet by splurging on them.

When I think of Super Duper a few things pop in my brain. 1. That brainworm of a song "Milkshake" (spare me oh Lord the misery of that refrain. Amen.) I have had the milkshake and I have guiltily listened to the song. The former is better than the latter. And it was and is good. Can I get another amen? 2.Plump melts in your mouth grilled chicken sandwich dripping with juicy goodness. With semi-hot jalapeños amigos!! 3. Semi-homemade pickles (I don't live here and I have no hand in making the pickles hence it ain't homemade). And you can have all you want. Ironically an actual hamburger doesn't make the top three of what pops in my brain. I have had their burgers and they are tasty. It just happens to be the way things are. Acceptance is something that has come with maturing (a slow process and still in the works no doubt). I would be remiss not to mention the fresh cut, fried just so French fries. These are so good it's worth a trip just to get your paws on them. McDonalds hath got nothing on these perfectly salted tubers. The garlic fries are a bit too heavy on the active ingredient and are the kiss of death if a kiss is anywhere in your near future. You have been warned. Enjoy!

Fries are excellent. Service is great. Good burger. Burger was good, but I have become a burger snob. As I've gotten older, the more I've had to watch the health. So when I do eat a burger, I want it to be a home run worth the calories. Definitely a solid choice if you are in the area to grab a bite, but I've been to other boutique burger chains that knock my socks off. So I was a little underwhelmed.

Add the bacon and egg, it makes the burger just that much better. I was really happy with the quality of the meat. Better than shake shack and on par with in'n'out. Yeah, I said it. Garlic fries. Do it.

Really yummy food. I got a double cheeseburger with everything and fries. I don't eat fries often, but figured i should try them first time. All was very good, burger had a "homemade" quality, not perfectly formed. Delicious, good quality, and they put the right amount of everything on it. A good burger stand burger. Meat was cooked medium, and seemed of good quality, and they site a local ranch it is from. Fries were crispy, and did not taste like the oil, which apparently was fresh and clean! Plus they have homemade pickles that are real yummy. they should sell jars of those. Menu also had on it chicken breast, veggie burgers, salads. Oh and ORGANIC Soft Serve ice cream... I didn't try it, but I know where I will go when I want that kind of a treat! Another big plus is they are open until 11pm, and later on Fri/Sat. Anyone who has been to Mill Valley knows there is not much open late, so this is a big plus for locals who might like a later meal!

After having written on Yelp and other sites about how great Super Duper was, tonight they insured that I will never in my life eat here again, and that I will actively lobby my friends not to go here. Anywhere that the clerks call the customers an a**hole does not deserve to stay in business. Mill Valley does not need you. My wife and I placed an order from the car on the way back the airport. We ordered two of the big burgers and one order of fries. Simple enough, except for the fact that the large burger is actually called the "super" burger in their nomenclature. Apparently that means a lot to them. When we pulled up to the window to get our order we were surprised that the total was only $14 and asked the woman who gave us our order if it was correct. Without saying a word she shut her window and a long conversation between her and people on the staff ensued. A long conversation. She opened the window and said, yes our order was right -- two single patty burgers. I, with maybe a little irritation in my voice said that was what I thought -- we had ordered two big burgers. She informed me that if I wanted two patties I had to call it a "super" burger or I would only get one patty. Plus, she added that one patty should be sufficient, that two patties was a half-pound of meat and more than I would want! I said this wasn't what I ordered but since I was hungry I'd take it anyway. And then as I drove away my wife and I both heard her yell, "Next time try being clear, a**hole!" I've eaten here at least every other week for the last couple of years, but no more. I understand that I just encountered one rude, immature child, but I don't need it. There are plenty of other good burgers in Mill Valley.

Food is good, service is not. I work down the street and only get 30 min for lunch. I have to call my order in to have enough time to eat, they NEVER pick up the phone. I make sure it is not lunch time for the high school and still no one picks up. So I place an order elsewhere and pass super duper on the way and the restaurant is empty! If they were busy I would understand but no. It happens like this every time I call and try to order. If you are in a hurry or don't have much time do not come here.

This was my first time trying to Super Duper in Mill Valley, after having it a few times in the city. Trying to eat healthier the past few months, I made an exception to splurge here since my hubby had yet to try one of thier burgers. This location is smaller but service was still friendly. We ordered the mini burger with cheese, a side of garlic fries, a lemonade and a strawberry shake. The burgers were both juicy and filling, despite looking small, although, the bottom of our bun was a little soggy. I absolutely, LOVE the fries here, though, I could do without the extra cheese so I took that off to make it a little healthier. The shakes are absolutely delicious because they do use only the BEST milk-Strauss! And of course, the lemonade, made with brown sugar (yum!) is just the right amount of sweet and sour! Though the calories for all this do add up, splurdging once a month on this won't hurt and gives me something to look forward to next time I'm pet sitting up North! ;)

I've been going to this Super Duper since it opened and it's actually improved. The quality, service, speed, and menu has all gotten better - it certainly is well managed. I like everything here and for a burger place, the menu is quite wide. The burgers are excellent. The chicken sandwich is my personal favorite. The veggie burgers are excellent too. A nice touch is the ability to get any of the above with a "lettuce bun" instead of bread. The outside patio area is nice and the building is an old Jack in the Box but completely upgraded. The only downside is that it's very loud inside even when half full. Lastly, as noted, they've considerably improved they're drive through speed. It really was a disaster for the first year but now, it's quite speedy. P.S. - whether it's a negative or not, it's certainly not a value burger place. You'll be out $33 to feed 3 people. In and Out is about half that for the same but clearly not in the same league.

Great juicy burgers! Fast service and yummy food! The garlic fries were way good we got the extra dipping sauces - do not recommend to do that with the garlic fries overkill! The extra toppings are well worth it and there Brown sugar Lemonade added a nice flair to the meal!

My burger and grilled onions were black, burnt, and dry. Tasted absolutely awful. Forgot the sauce on the side, forgot to add tomatoes to my friends burger. Garlic fries are covered in cheap pre-shredded parmesan and were very soggy. Waste of money, waste of food. Skip this place.

My discovery when i moved here sply in the land of HAVE YOU NOT TRIED IN& OUT.. OMG! well to those takers try once super duper with garlic fries and yes don't make it TO GO rather eat it fresh. I saw the dragon yoga centre next door in their leggings catching a bite or two.. lol now been almost more than a year trying these burgers but finding the difference in the bread quality ... been to mill valley, mkt street, castro and one more .. :-) my first love for a burger since the 75 yearsof the golden gate celebrations....

Just a glorified In n Out burger. Really nothing special, but with inflated pricing. At the Mill Valley location you are also treated to that not rare animal - the California brat. Yes, tons of snotty, entitled, annoying kids with their cooler-than-thou parents in BMW suvs. You get the picture. If they bump into you or hog tables, too bad for you.

Having recently given up grains, sugar, and dairy, I am on a fierce search for the best Paleo-style burger in the county. The thing about this is that, with no bun and no cheese, the focus in my burger travels has to be the BEEF. And Super Duper so far has the most juicy, flavorful beef by far. I have a standard order that I get there: Super Burger (two patties) with Bacon, Avocado, and Grilled Onions ONLY (no tomato, onion, or spread for me), Medium Rare, AND No Bun, wrapped in lettuce. I know, I am SO annoying. But I'm always met with a smile from the friendly counter people and my order is almost always perfect. The ONE time it wasn't (there was a tomato), the lovely lady at the counter was so apologetic and gave me a card for a free Mini Burger for next time. They use Niman Ranch beef (I only wish it were grass-fed), and they season it perfectly, making for a really flavorful burger that doesn't make me miss the bun or cheese. So far my go-to joint for an AMAZING Paleo burger every time! P.S. Back when I ate fries, their Garlic Fries were To. Die. For. Gave AT&T a run for its money, no joke.

We stopped by here after completing a hike nearby and was this ever a welcome sight! The last thing I wanted to eat was something that had the same fiber content and calories of cardboard, so off to Super Duper we went. When we drove up the line was pretty short, there empty tables and parking was plentiful. As much as I wanted one of their chocolate-dipped soft serve cones, I decided to order their small combo of a 4 oz burger, small fries and a fountain drink. The burger came with "everything", which means lettuce, tomato, red onions and their Super Sauce, a mayonnaise based sauce. Homemade pickles were available at the condiment bar. The burger patty had developed a slight crust and was juicy and flavorful, not the least bit greasy. However, it was sitting on the fence between medium well and well done (= slightly overcooked). The lettuce was fresh and the red onions were very thinly sliced. The tomato was mealy. The pickles are really good - chunky, crisp and not too salty or sour. The sesame bun was toasted, fresh and held up well. The fries were cut thin and crisp but some were dry on the inside, as if they were slightly overcooked. The line moved fairly quickly and the wait for the food was around 5 minutes. By this time the restaurant was completely packed, but the kitchen was hustling! And here we thought we had missed the lunch rush. Super Duper does take care to use sustainable and/or recyclable products - glasses for beverages, paper containers for condiments, etc. Modern decor with bench seating inside and out. I would come back to try their other menu items, especially the shakes and soft service, with organic milk from Straus creamery. Totally worth checking out.

We are now regulars - it has been great from the opening. Home-made fries, (try the homemade mayo for $1 ...yum!) Juicy tasty burgers - always cooked just right, veggie and chicken burgers available and great too, love the buns. love having a beer, kids love the shakes, and the fries are excellent. Did I already say how good the fries are? All restaurant fries are a bit salty for my taste, so I ask for no salt. The owner/manager and entire staff are extremely friendly and helpful.... even when they are packed, which seems to be often, they always have a smile and hello. We love the vibe - clean, family friendly, nicely remodeled from the old J in the Box. We love you Super Duper - thank you for coming to Mill Valley!

Excellent burger at a good price. Beer on tap. Fantastic pickles. Cute staff. Only complaint: Too noisy! Needs sound panels and turn down that 70s music.

Unlike any burger I've had before. Very unique, tasty. A bit on the greasy side. To be honest, I like 'em greasy. But this one was messy-drippy-all-over-my-lap-in-the-car greasy. Even with a paper / foil wrap around it, if you can picture that. I recommend eating in if you can handle the music and other ambiance like the counter staff / cashier people. OH YEAH, the cashier! SHE was a little too super-duper for me. Bubbly is good, and I guess its expected if you work in a place named Super Duper, or anything similar. But she was too much - so much that we almost lost our appetite. But she did recommend dipping sauces, and they were pretty good. She described them as "Like, the best thing i've ever had". They were certainly not, in my opinion, the best thing EVER, but I admire her enthusiasm. I do plan to give this place another shot some day, in hopes that the service is toned down.

i don't know what happened but for some reason, i started craving this place, i NEVER crave for a burger, if i do any burger would do. but the mini burger is just enough for me and a side of garlic fries just completely puts me over the top of satisfactions. the meat is cooked to perfection and the sides they offer just goes well. speaking of which, i am going to get one today on my lunch. yay burgers.

I know it's called Super Duper burger, but my chicken sandwich was delish! The kids loved their 'mini' burgers and fries, too. But what's up with the parking? We went early (5pm), the restaurant was 1/4 full and there were no spots in the lot. Must be employees? The cashier was very friendly, but it took a while to order. We'll be back (no other alternatives, really), but I sure hope the parking sitch gets resolved.

So between Pearl's Phat Burger and In-N-Out It would be hard for me to back to this place. Price versus quality great! Ingredients, good qaulity. Beer, oh ya! quality milkshakes, sure. I can't really complain but Super Duper will not find its way into my normal rotation. Had the double patty with cheese. Order it RARE or it will come overcooked. Ask for Grilled Onions! The location on Chestnut is a lot more attractive given the lack of good and reasonable burger joints in the area.

A quick update: I truly appreciate Super Duper's commitment to quality ingredients and outstanding service. Although the quality, preparation, and taste of the food was very good in the past, there has been consistent further refinements during the last year! The fries are noticeably crispier and the burgers more tasty along with an improved bun. Finally, the service is very much appreciated - I am consistently greeted with a smile and and welcomed by the staff including the manager. This level of commitment makes the overall experience very positive and enjoyable! Good Job Super Duper!

Tried it for the first time yesterday. Got in the drive through line, saw the crazy touch screen and place to swipe your card, and decided to park and walk in instead. Got the Double Cheese Burger with grilled onions for $6.50. Had to take it to go and we made one other stop before we got home. The burger was really tasty. I liked the flavor of the grilled onions. Given how much time had passed, I thought the bun held up pretty well. Without a doubt, it's one of the greasiest burgers I've had in a long time. Perhaps that's why it tasted so good. I saw them making the burgers. I guess they don't try to scrape the grease off the grill, or make any attempts to drain the burgers a bit before they set them on the buns. The Best Burger in Mill Valley can be found at Pearl's Phat Burger yelp.com/biz/pearls-phat… However, Pearl's has hardly any seating, and it's harder to find parking and you have to feed a meter. The Best Value Burger is In N Out yelp.com/biz/in-n-out-bu… Super Duper is much better than the Counter yelp.com/biz/the-counter… Since it has lots of seating (inside and out) and easy parking, Super Duper is a decent alternative when you can't take the time to go to Pearl's Phat Burger. Next time I visit, I'll have to try more items. _________________________ 9/24/12 Update Went back to try the Vanilla Shakes, Garlic Fries and Pickles. The Vanilla Shakes for $4.75 are good. Almost too sweet for my taste. I prefer the shakes at Pearl's Phat Burger The Garlic Fries for $2.75 are tasty with lots of minced garlic, cheese and parsley. The pickles are free. They had a unique flavor. They are too thick to put on the burger; so, I just ate a few of them as a snack. We enjoyed sitting outside. While it's not Pearl's and not as cheap as In N Out, by having decent parking and plenty of seating, Super Duper is going to do just fine in this location.

I love that I can eat here and not get sick. I am allergic to chemicals of any sort and wheat. I can order a double patty with cheese and Im in heaven! And I can get up in the morning. You get what you pay for. No fillers, real food. I only have on body so I want to keep it healthy, thank you very much! My son loves it here too. I will be back!

Had stopped eating burgers and then was introduced to the Super-burger! Now I am happy to have a burger be one of my favorite meal choices again. Only room to improve is the temperature of the place. It can be cold and drafty inside the restaurant.

I've been to a different Super Duper location prior to this one and had a great experience. There was just something weird about this location that I didn't like as much as the other one, and I can't put my finger on what it is. I felt rushed when I was trying to figure out what to order. I tried something a little different and got the veggie burger. It was pretty good, but very messy. Don't get the veggie burger if you're on a date and trying to impress someone. Overall, I'm a fan of Super Duper. I just don't know how much I'll be going back to this location.

Disclaimer: Just ate here once. But I loved it. Let me back up. I'm not a burger fan, but I'm surrounded by burger fans. Thus my presence at Super Duper on a recent Friday night. I got the "mini burger" with everything, which is actually a quarter pounder and plenty big enough for a regular appetite. Juicy but not gushy and disgusting. Actually quite tasty. The fries were crisp and tasted like potatoes (yes, they should taste like that, but not all do). So far? Three stars. Four stars for yummy, fennel-y pickles and for the out-of-this-world delicious vanilla shake. (Highly recommend the vanilla shake. Really. It's so so good. I'll be back for that shake.) Hard to comment on the service. We got what we ordered in a timely way, and everyone was friendly. About what I'd want in a fast food-ish place. Thumbs up.

Best burger in bay area after trying out a few of the top rated places. The pickles are an awesome plus. Milkshakes are thick and delicious. Now for the crux of any burger joint. A mini burger 4 oz. patty will do for a normal meal. You can get it simple or with the fixings. And be sure to order the garlic fries, best fries I've had in a while!

My family and I were up in Sausilito for an adventure and before going home, were looking for a place to eat. We skipped downtown being as it was super busy and many restaurants looked tiny and super packed; so we kept driving on. Then we came upon Super Duper across the street, made the quick U-turn, and parked, Such a find this place was!! We ordered 3 minis, all with cheese (of course) and then plain for our son, and both of us had different preferences on what else we wanted on our burger and ended it with a side of garlic fries. The wait was not bad at all and being as we were quite hungry, you know a few minutes can seem like an eternity. We immediately grabbed a few fries and could barely stop to start into our burgers. Oh the burgers! Have to agree with other Yelpers about them tasting like homemade. I have not tasted a decent burger like this in some time. It's just too bad there is not a single SD in the South Bay. We will have to find out what things there are to do in this area of town. True, it can be a bit pricey, but if you think about the other comparable joints out there, those too charge approximately $9 a burger. I do not know of many places that provide avocado or bacon without a nominal charge. The other burger establishment mentioned in another review below also charges $1 for these toppings, so it's not unusual. Not sure what one yelper was talking about regarding thick fries; these were standard sized in the world of fries and not soggy whatsoever. Also, great amount of garlic and seasonings, and I do like the touch of shredded cheese on top. Additionally, since all three of us had different orders on the burgers and the order was not read back to us, it could have came to us wrong as another review mentions, but ours came out exactly how we ordered. Lastly, being as this was our first time here, we had to figure out what we wanted and not once did we feel like we were being rushed by the staff or other patrons behind us. I will most certainly recommend the chocolate chip cookies. We missed them at first, but thankfully to the signs on the back wall, we wondered if they did have cookies. They did and for the size of them, one would think that they could easily be sold for more than what they charged, a whopping 75 cents! And oh my, was it an additional 75 cents times 5 worth it! I wish I could have saved my second cookie, but we can always come back and most definitely will!!

Love the burgers! Great taste, real burgers, and great customer service. I went there and ordered. I believe they got my order wrong or something happened back there and my order took much longer than usual. The manager apologized and charged back my card for the inconvenience. I didn't have to complain or even ask, they just did it. Good job!

Nice and trendy place to hand out with outdoor sittings. I drive by here all the time and decided to try it today. I order a super duper without cheese. I did not like it that much. The meat was dry. Maybe my expectation was too high but the meat taste like it's over cooked. I might go back to try the mini next time. Disappointed on this visit.

Yummy! It's like a gourmet handcrafted version of In-n-Out. Amazing fresh burgers and Strauss Family Creamy soft serve were highlights. They have a fabulous bittersweet chocolate dipping coating for the cones. Delicious. I want one to open near my home....pleeeeeeeaaaaasssssse!

My dining companion was a little shocked by total price of our late night burger and fries foray. It IS expensive and there are better options in Marin, both taste-wise and price-wise. The pluses: -open late -fairly quick service -made to order burgers (Niman ranch beef) The minuses: -burger was very greasy -garlic fries were very greasy, and not very crisp -prices were high for what you're getting I love garlic, and I love fries, but I didn't finish these because they were so greasy. Burger wasn't very flavorful, surprisingly. Overall, this was a very underwhelming meal with an overwhelming price tag. I may try again, with some other menu items, but this isn't a place I'll go out of my way to visit.

This place serves the only burger I've ever appreciated. (I usually don't get the point of American food). Try a burger with blue cheese and grilled onions - umami-licious!! Oh my! This place has it all, and the burgers, fries, rings, and pickles are all what you'd hope for. I do not like the lemonade (made with brown sugar) or milk shakes (too fancy and not sweet enough - and I know my icecream). So what. LOVE this place.

Overpriced, greasy, no flavor. If you're in the mood for a quick burger, this place has nothing on in-N-out

My wife had heard of Super Duper and after a few beers at Pelican Inn we needed some munchies! I would take their burger over In-n-Out any day. Burgers were moist and bread great. I asked for chopped jalapenos on mine and it was the perfect touch. The garlic fries were good, and a memorable shake as well. Was nice enough that we sat outside, and it was a pretty quiet day. Will definitely be back when I 'm in the neighborhood!

This restaurant was n a picturesque location n the picks were delicious....sadly that's were the compliments end. The hamburgers r horrible. No seasoning. No taste except if u like the taste out grease. Very dull, bland n blah. I wanted to ask for my money back but decided they needed the money to possibly open another business besides the Hamburg biz.....ick!

A great burger joint for a town lacking one. Only negative, when it is cold outside, it is no better inside, but this is likely caused by the doors being left open when it is busy.

  • Glo F.

Super Duper overpriced greasy burger...double the meat, double the grease. Even the lettuce was glistening with grease!! Yikes! The mini burger is one patty was not as greasy. We ordered the combo with fries and drink. The lemonade did not taste fresh, and the bun was dense, didn't taste fresh either. The fries were crispy and the self serve pickles were super duper. The service was a little slow but the place was clean. The shakes looked really good, but also overpriced, they better have a cow in the back for the price they charge for a soft serve. May or may not try again if I'm in the area.

Mini burger was enough for me . Once in a great while you run across a burger that makes you want to settle and take your time with it . I also tried the fries (both regular and garlic ). I wanted to try the milkshakes but was too content and didn't want to ruin it .I would go back sooner than later.

So far, the best burger in Marin. This is basically what In n Out should be. The meat is super fresh, thick, and cooked perfectly. Juicy and seasoned just right. (I don't care how many patties you put on an in n out burger, it's still thin, dry, overcooked meat.) The lettuce and tomato are cool and fresh, and the all important bun is light and buttery and does not overwhelm the main attraction. And homemade pickles, dipped cones, and beer on tap put this stop over the top for me. I wasn't a huge fan of the fries. They are fresh cut potatoes, but they didn't seem to be double fried, so they weren't as crispy as I would like. Also, the dipping sauces available for an extra buck were disappointing and not flavored very well. The chipotle one was ok, but the other two were hard to even distinguish what was in them. Stick with ketchup. Price is pretty standard for this kind of quality. If you think it's too much, please to enjoy your in n out combo where you will save maybe $3. Happy to have this place in the neighborhood, and looking forward to coming again.

Good stuff! Mini burger is sufficient for most female appetites, the double would have been too big...but great for a meat lover! Had regular fries instead of garlic fries...can't wait to try them next time! Chocolate shake was delicious. Their prices are a tad high, but worth it...you get what you pay for.

Great food and helpful servers. Figure you'll spend about $10, which is more than you pay at one of the large burger chains. But the food here is superior, so you get what you pay for. Only complaint is the loud music they play inside the restaurant. You cannot hear the person you are dining with, and you can barely hear yourself think because there are multiple speakers in the ceiling and they have it turned up LOUD.

GREAT BURGER JOINT!!! I have come here three times in two weeks because I loved this place so much the first time, I had to keep coming back...bringing my friends! Everything about Super Duper is great. The burgers, the fries, the shakes, homemade pickles, and the customer service! The customer service is exceptional. Everyone, from the person who greets you at the register, to the manager, is very friendly. The other night I had a nice opportuniy to have a chat with manager. She is such a sweet woman. I always see her all over the place going around the tables making sure all her customers are happy. I have to say that my favorite thing on the menu, besides the homemade pickels, are the garlic fries. Best batch of garlic fries I have had in a long time! Each fry is drenched in garlicky goodness :) I love this burger place so much, I even made a Yelp page just to write a review! I'm surprised it has three and a half stars. It's time to out that myth to rest. Super Duper Burger is one of the best burger joint experiences I have had.

I've been here twice so far, and will definitely go back. The burgers were cooked just right, and they taste like a burger I would cook up at home. They were seasoned, and the meat had a really good flavor and was juicy. Love garlic fries, and the shakes were perfect. My husband was less impressed, as his regular potato fries were overcooked and flavorless. The place was packed that day, so maybe it was an off day?

Love this place. Love their burgers and their fries. Also love that you can get veggie burgers that taste just as good. Not sure if this is the healthiest diet around, but it sure is great comfort food in my book. The mini-burgers are great and at a great price (for Marin, that is) as well. = )

2 hamburgers, 1 order fo fries, 1 chocolate shake: $26.00. First they called me Rod then they called me Bob and my name is Scott. I had to repeat my telephone order _six_ times. They repeated back something incorrectly on Every. Single. Iteration. For anyone who is interested, the number for In-n-Out in Strawberry is: 800-786-1000. Less than half the price, far tastier on all counts, friendly staff, better seating.

Not sure how they make their burgers so juicy but when the cheese is still melty and the burger is still dripping on the last bite also, you know something good is going on! Had SDB for dinner after eating at "oyster's fat" burger for lunch (yes, had burgers twice in one day, so sue me)... both good but have to say Super was superb! Better bun, beef had more flavor, and homemade pickles. I can imagine a better burger, but not by much.

I will confess - I enjoy the occasional burger and fries. (And based on the crowds I've observed at burger places in the area, so do many other Marin County residents...) Super Duper Burgers seems to be a San Francisco chain that has established an outpost in Mill Valley in the old Jack in the Box location on Miller, which has stood pretty much empty almost since I moved to Mill Valley in 2006. Their menu is fairly basic - hamburgers, veggie burgers, chicken sandwiches, with lots of toppings available, salads, fries and drinks which include beer and wine. Being that it is a burger joint, each time we visit, we always go for a burger and we've never been disappointed. They claim to cook their burgers medium and that has been our experience. The burgers are exceeding juicy - make sure you get extra paper towels because there will be drips. That being said, I would advise people that as a take-away item, the burgers might not travel well. I would expect the buns to end up being very soggy. The fries are hand-cut, unpeeled and of the shoestring variety. Ours have always been hot and crisp. (I would like to see malt vinegar available for the fries.) We haven't tried the shakes yet, but did get a sample of the Straus soft serve which was very good. One unique feature is that they make their own pickles and have jars out for customers to help themselves. I can't exactly describe the flavor of the pickles - it is like dill with just an undercurrent of sweet. We've gone back for seconds both visits. They are still getting all of the kinks out of their processes, but they do remedy their mistakes. On our most recent visit, we only got part of our order on the tray. They had the rest out to us very quickly with a fresh order of fries since they didn't want me having cold fries with my hot burger. Their parking lot if a bit small and confusing, but there is plenty of street parking. We were very impressed that the manager we met recognized us on our second visit and made an effort to come out and say hello. They seem to be on the right track to do well.

Happened upon this little gem on our way to see the Redwoods in Muir Woods. The fries were crispy, fresh and well salted. The burger looked great but my particular burger didn't have much flavor despite the bacon, cheese and sauce that were on it. My hubby thought the same thing. However - the homemade pickles were AMAZING!!! And the fresh chocolate chip cookie we bought on the way out the door was out of this world good - crispy on the outside - gooey and warm on the inside. It it wasn't an hour away from where we are staying I'd go back for the pickles and the cookies alone! Yum!

Okay my burger tasted like dead animal, which i know it is a dead animal. I am sure you know what I mean. My chocolate malt shake was awful. I did not like the type of milk or ice cream they used. An no taste of malt. It just tasted weird not like a Johnny Rockets or Pearls Phat Burgers malt. An the fries were cold an not good. They have a large banner of a cow on the side of the establishment which i find to be tacky an upsetting cause who wants to be reminded that they are eating a cow. I am sure the vegans an Peta people are loving that. Their cement wall needs to be painted. It still looks like a construction site. It looks low class. I hope it doesn't last very long. I kinda miss the Jack In Box even though I never went.

While the food is good my problem with this place is the lack of their ability to fill your order correctly - on multiple occasions I have paid for something but once i drive away i find that i have been shorted on my order, no sauces (which they charge for), missing drinks, etc.....point being, they seem to intentionally skimp on your order to their advantage (monetarily). Today I ordered a chicken sandwich and a sprite....it was read back to me that i had ordered a chicken sandwich and fries...i corrected them but in the end I was charged for the sandwich, the sprite and the fries but never got the sprite..... seems to happen all the time with this place! don't order the dipping sauce (they NEVER get that right!) I recommend you check your order before you leave and demand a correction of the bill. Foods still good though! 2/19/13 Update - ordered a chipotle dipping sauce - got charged for 3 (again) still tasty though!

I just don't get the hype here. The beef is not great (very "beefy"), the fries are soggy, soggy, soggy, and the pickles are sweet. I've tried giving the benefit of the doubt and have gone here three times over a 6 month period, and it's unfortunately consistently not great food, especially for the price. I paid $26 for 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 1 shake. We should have gone to In-N-Out or Pearl's. Better food at a better price. I won't be going back.

As a burger place, it cannot get any better. I tried going at 10:30 a.m. on a week day. I was the first person in and had a booth all to myself. I ordered the mini-cheese burger and french fries and they were terrific. The bun was fresh, the ingredients were pure [the Sun Farms truck had just delivered] and it was cooked and put together perfectly with a fresh bun, lettuce and tomato. The food was served with a paper cloth on a small metal baker's tray. The place was impeccably clean and neat. No plastic. The wood and metal furniture was an interesing design. The service was fast, friendly and efficient, and as I settled into my meal, the cook came to my table and asked if everything was alright. Alright? This is the best hamburger place that I have been to in the last 50 years!! For those contributors to YELP that criticize the burger as being no better than the In and Out burger [a compliment in itself I might add], I would ask, where does In and Out get its beef? What about the potatoes, how much herbicides and pesticides do they have in them? O.K. so you don't mind shortening your life a few decades -- eat the stuff that has chemicals in it, save a few nickels and dimes and be blissful. But, for me, a place like Super Duper, that goes that extra mile, deserves that extra star. Go enjoy. My total tab for the great cheeseburger and a heap of delicious organic french fries was $9.75.

I like the veggie burger! I like the skinny fries! The chocolate malt made with Strauss organic ice cream is delicious! If I owned this place I would change the lettuce to thinly shredded iceburg but that is just me. I go out of my way to eat here!

Finally, something has moved in where Jack-In-the-Box used to be! And it's pretty good, too. I stopped by Super Duper on my way out of Mill Valley with a friend. I got the portobello sandwich (being a vegetarian) and my friend got the mini burger. The burger was small but she seemed to really like it, and my sandwich was fantastic. The garlic fries were good, if a little undercooked. I guess we got there during the lunch rush, because the place was PACKED. However, for being so busy, we got a table and our food pretty quick (taking a page from Inn-N-Out's book, hopefully). Overall a good dining experience - reasonably priced too. Can't wait until they've got a drive-thru!

$6.50 gets you a medium, home-cooked style 2-patty burger with fresh fixins, somewhat underseasoned. The pricey vanilla shake (over chocolate) is too fluid but tastes good, and the fries (another $2 for a small helping) are OK. Self-serve jars of fresh home made pickles are a nice touch. Better than all *fast food* burgers I know. Depressingly functional grey steel & concrete look has all the flair of a prison cafeteria. Not that I know what those look like, mind you. Heated patio. I bumped it to 4 stars factoring the drive-thru convenience, which I haven't experienced there yet- that said, considering how juicy/oily their patties are, this could turn real ugly. I think/hope it's just cooking oil as it's very runny.

Finding a great hamburger joint is a challenge. I've been to many of the usual, but Super Duper Burgers is not the usual. The old Jack in the Box on Miller in Mill Valley recently changed ownership to Super Duper Burgers. For months I had driven by to see the construction progress. Finally, the sign is up and I think I was there during their grand opening week. Great burgers, quick staff, excellent decor and one of the best burgers I have had. I've been back a couple times to see if it held up. Yes, it did! On my fourth visit this date we ordered the usual Super Duper, double burger and fries. Great! The ownership knows how to run a solid operation. This time I notice the free pickles. Excellent. Again, quick, courteous service and you pay for the quality. Well worth it. If you're into real hamburgers, juicy they are and real french fries, you have to try Super Duper Burgers. Try the pickles also.

OMG, love this place. Great, fast service, they have a drive-through. Burgers are awesome. I want to feel good after eating 'n drinking and this place makes me feel great. Not expensive and real tasty. I'll keep coming back!!

I stopped into Super Duper Burger this past Sunday afternoon, after seeing a play at the Marin Theater Company, as it is just across the street. The burger was juicy and very tasty. The best burger I have had in a while. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly. I would definitely return. Good job.

My whole family loves Super Duper! I often pick my kids up from school hungry, and they beg me to go to Super Duper before heading to soccer, or lacrosse, or wherever we are going. Before Super Duper opened, I would have said No to a drive-through burger as often as my kids want one, but because it is Super Duper and they use Niman Ranch beef, I often say Yes. My kids order the mini burgers, which are the perfect size for kids. I order the Mini Burger wrapped in lettuce, and it is so juicy and delicious. The kids' sized shakes are the perfect size for kids, which I really appreciate. I also appreciate the fact that the ice cream and milkshakes are made from Strauss organic milk. I rarely let my kids eat the frozen yogurt that is so popular at other places in Mill Valley, because the ingredients are unrecognizable. When they want a treat, I only let them get a shake or ice cream from Super Duper. Besides the quality product, what has brought us back TIME AND TIME AGAIN is the service. The woman who often helps me is Farideh, and she is excellent. She is always sweet and kind and fast. We are also in love with Jesus. From the first day Super Duper opened, I was so impressed with how professional he was. Now whenever I call to order, and he answers, I know that the order will be perfect. We don't often use the drive-through to order the food, but instead, call ahead of time to place the order, so we just drive up to the window to get our food. The staff is always quick and friendly. We also like eating inside. It is now our favorite place to eat in Mill Valley with our kids. I don't know what I would do without them!! We easily find parking, and I love that, but the drive-through option, on a day when I have tired and hungry kids in the car, on the way to a soccer game, is perfect and very much appreciated! I have no complaints at all, and really, really appreciate Super Duper in Mill Valley! Thank you so much to the wonderful staff there.

If you want a delicious juicy burger, this is it. I had the mini burger. Twice. I'll be back. With a soda and a tip it was $8. Just like Phyllis' or Pearl's.

what i ordered... super burger and fries one good burger... bun was ok, looks so good but small in size maybe to make the meat look bigger, it was toasted but didn't quite penetrated the inside of the bun(top part that is). the two meat patties was yum-my, top quality, coarsely ground, freshly seared right and topped with real cheese(though it'll cost you an added 1/2 a buck). fries were just ok and not much of it. homemade pickles and chili's were top notched. awesome pickle's, one of the best i've tasted. they're awesomely crunchy, tangy with a hint of spicyness and it was freaking FREE. ambiance... good(trendy MickeyD's) service... great(manager maybe co-owner goes around checking if everything's alright) cost... $+(a little pricey, just because it didn't fill me up)

The bad: Thought I'd give this new place a try since the line didn't look to long. It didn't matter though, I still ended up being there close to 20 minutes for this "fast" food. I always give new restaurants slack to straighten out the kinks though. The good: The best burger I may have tasted in years.

There are so many places to burger(s), but the place ROCKS! Yiu don't know what you are missing. Very good staff, very nice and very helpful. Keep up the good work. Nice job :). Love the veggie burger and the PORTOBELLO SANDWICH! Really, one of the best.

For a place that does burgers, I would expect a little bit more out of the burger. Also, would probably call it '$$', and '$' should be reserved for only the cheapest places. The fries were good but not huge for $3, I think. Speed of service was nice and the outside seating was very nice too.

O.M.G. The best burger I've had in years. Juicy, good sear, great bun -- happy, happy, happy! I'm not a big beef eater but the burger was so great I had it twice in one week. Hubby is a vegetarian and loves the veggie burger. Child loves the super shakes. We all love the (free) pickles and the fries. Basically, a totally delicious and fresh meal. And a nice atmosphere. And a nice and friendly staff. Total win!

While waiting for my hamburger, I knocked over my malted vanilla shake - it went all over the place. The manager had an associate clean up the mess with no fuss and immediately ordered me a new shake which arrived in no time at all. I am a regular customer at Super Duper and I can safely say that this place rocks.....

I LOVE Super Duper Burger! And so do my pups! They have the BEST veggie burger EVER, and my bf says the meaty kind are delish, as well. Yummy in the tummy! And both times I've gone through the drive-in, the wonderful people inside hand me a few strips of bacon for my dogs! How cool is that? OMG, I almost forgot to rave about the fries! The FRIES!!! SO good! And here I didn't think I liked fries anymore.

Crowded and loud. Burgers were okay. The service was slammed but very nice! Perfect place to go with two toddlers as no one could be offended by noise they might make! My kids vote go back! I think it was the chocolate dipped ice cream cones that swayed them!

I have been a big fan of Pearl's Phat Burger, and wanted to try out this new place. When: During their lunch rush on a weekday. Items ordered: Super Duper Meal /w cheese(extra $) and grilled onions(no extra $). Service: prompt Atmosphere: Loud and many high school kids. Taste: Mmmm. The meat texture was good, but something was lacking. I kept chowing down to experience the flavor...but none found. They gave me a glass cup for soda. When I was done with the meal, I realized that I can't take my drink with me. doh! Bottom line: I should give one more shot at super duper, but so far I like Pearl's speciality burgers much better.

Omg where have these burgers been all my life! First of all let me say that my all time favorite burger is the in-n-out burger and the only burger that has even come close to it is shake shack's. After eating at Super Duper i found a burger at In-n-Outs level. after I took a bite out of the mini burger with cheese my taste buds were blown away. It was so juicy, the bun was soft yet a little crunchy, idk what sauce they use but it tasted AMAAAZEBALLZ! This burger tasted a whole lot different than in-n-outs. It's bun wasn't kind of sweet like innouts and this burger had bacon. And we'll we all know bacon makes everything better. :) the patty is also much thicker but I guess not as wide maybe that's why it's juicer. Anyways, I also got to taste the garlic fries which were alright. This place also makes their own pickles but I didn't taste them (I just don't like them much). After I finished my delicious burger I got a cookies and cream milkshake. I actually couldn't decide whether to get that or a chocolate dipped vanilla soft serve cone. Sound good, huh? And it looked good too. But I thought a milkshake would be easier to eat inside the car. I was very pleased with my milkshake. Tasted like real ice cream, it was on the creamy side but it was still good cuz I hate when it's too thick and won't go up the straw easily. I guess it was like sipping liquid ice cream haha yummy. I would definitely go here again and I've actually been craving their burgers ever since. I wish there were more Super Dupers close to the South Bay!!!!

The burgers are great and the meat is better than anything else. I think that the food is ten times better than In-N-Out. However, I don't want to return because the hipster atmosphere turns me off. Many of the Mill Valley restaurants - such as this one - are full of pretentious customers with an attitude. So unfriendly and fake. No offense to the hipsters, you can just go about your business and ignore me... I've had to negative experiences with other customers at this restaurant, yet I can't remember ever having any other negative experiences at any other restaurants in my life! Either I'm unlucky or this place attracts more nasty customers than other restaurants. I know that this is a bit unfair to the restaurant owners because they are trying their best, but I'm just putting it out there.

I went to SD on opening day--so let's get down to business. Burger? Outstanding. This may sound odd, but it just looked and smelled like a real hamburger. Nothing about it that seemed like a chain. And the taste? Delicious. Even as I was eating it, I was looking forward to coming back for the next one. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly--never really experienced that before in a hamburger place. I'm sure it was because it was the first day, and everyone was amped up, but made for a really fun atmosphere. So why no 5th star? Well, I thought the fries were only so-so ( think it's harder to get great fries than a great burger). I didn't try the shakes (I had already done enough damage for one day . . .) Now for the big question--how does it compare to our other Southern Marin options? If you mean burgers only: better than Counter (way better), better than In-and-Out (slightly better), not as good as Pearl's. It's also a bit more fun than the other places (although it might have been the opening day excitement). Two other things--if you've got a family of four, it's a heck of a lot less expensive than Pearl's. And (drum roll please)--SD will have a real, working drive-through. Interested to see what others think of this place. I think they're going to do well, if for no reason that they are down the block from Tam High. But my gosh, that was a really tasty, juicy burger.

Some things never change. The one thing that always remains constant for me is my old standby for a red wine hang over! A large juicy/greasy cheeseburger and a chocolate milk shake! It was during one of my crazed hang over callings that I discovered the new Super Duper in Mill Valley. The service was fast, but the burger was lacking something? Did not have that great "meat taste" that makes burgers soo delicious! Sure it was nice and juicy, but not good enough to justify the calorie intake. In addition the chocolate malt was lacking something as well.. Tasted to generic. Maybe I will give them more time to get it together. Otherwise I think I'll stick with Pearl's and In-n-Out burger.

I've been to this place 5 times. They've gotten my order wrong 4 times. The food is good but it's just a hassle trying to get what I ordered. I will probably only go here between the hours of 10 and 11 pm, when this place, 7-11 and the 24 hour Safeway are my only options.

Great place, BUT....have to call out the $4 hand-dipped ice cream cone. RIP-OFF!!! $2.75 if you want regular vanilla. And, it's a soft serve machine. I mean, seriously, I know people in Mill Valley have money, but out of principal, I will never buy one. Fresh organic foo-foo icream for up to $4 a scoop....sure. But come 'on, lower the price a bit. Other than that, the place is fantastic, and a welcome addition :)

This was second lunch visit here. I had the 4 oz. burger, reg fries, and a coke. The homemade pickles are a nice free treat and tasted home made. The burger is fresh and not greasy at all as I've been reading. Maybe Miller Ave. in Mill Valley IS A "GREASE FREE" zone. I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu. Something needs to be done about the noise level here. Once the place fills up you can't hear yourself talk.

Overall this burger place rocks! They are care about how they do business as well as their customers. Farideh the mangers makes you feel like you are hanging out in her kitchen and the staff is always warm and friendly. Great milkshakes, great pickles, great burgers, great fun and always CLEAN. Keep it up Super Duper Burgers!

This place has a decent burger on par with most made to order burgers. The beef was fresh and tasty, as was the various toppings. For a double and two regular cheeseburgers, fries and three drinks the tab was about $30. This seems a bit pricey for a couple burgers and fries in an old Jack & the Box. The burgers were definitely of the greasy variety, and the fries are lackluster. I did have a couple of service issues. We had two orders and both times found that the food was sitting at the counter for a while and they had not called our name. The seating is a bit difficult and the noise level is rough. I think that the review would be better if the environment was different, the sides were better, and the service was a bit more diligent. Maybe I should just get a burger to go. I cannot see myself choosing Super Duper over Pearls Phatburger just down the street, which is better overall.

Went on a Sunday evening and the place was packed. The wait wasn't bad but it was so loud I had to repeat my order several times. The wait for our order (two burgers and an order of fries) was long. More than 15minutes. When the food was ready, they served it on a tray but I had ordered it to go. They quickly packaged everything and had got the burger orders correct. Burgers were good (I like thin patties) and cooked properly. The pickles are awesome and fries average. This place may need a little more time to work out the kinks but that is to be expected at a new establishment. Super Duper has potential.

Pretty good burger for fast food. But the garlic fries were terrible. Overcooked, greasy and not much garlic. Over all, over priced for what it is. I'd rather go to In-n-Out or get a great burger at Marin Joes.

I really wanted to give a higher rating and hopefully as this brand spanking new joint matures I'll be able to. From the branding to the retro tinged yet contemporary architecture this place is screaming to be loved. The ingredients are obviously high quality yet the prices are very reasonable. That said the wonderful 'artisan' bun was un-done by too much grease. Note there is a difference between juice and grease. Unfortunately the latter is in abundance. Cooking technique? Fat content too high? Hard to say but when this branch gets the balance right it could be a contender for the "best thing I've ever ate"- to quote a competitor's slogan.

The burger is really good, but that's where the good ends. I honestly cannot believe a new restaurant would open with such an absolute inability to handle customer service, both from a functional and people standpoint. MV always gets excited about any new restaurant and the lines are currently out the door. Unless this place learns to handle an order and do it correctly, and in a somewhat civil manner, it will be selling 2 tacos for 1 dollar like it's predecessor -- Jack-N-The-Box -- was doing before it closed its doors. It takes 20 minutes to order and another 20 minutes to get your food. And that's totally fine if you got to the register and were engaged by someone who seemed to care at all that you had been in line for 20 minutes. The woman taking your order was completely unengaged, short and apathetic. While waiting for my food, the people who worked there snapped that they were out of pickles and they didn't know when or if they would get more. I've been twice and in both instances my orders were not filled correctly. The last time was a to go order and they failed to give me a burger and a grilled cheese that I paid for (the put an extra garlic french fry in the bag, which I didn't even order). Bottom line, the food is good but the service is terrible. Awful. Rude. It may be busy now but I hope you enjoy your 15 minutes because it's sure to end unless things, and more accurately your employees' attitudes, change and do so quickly. Otherwise, just stay in San Francisco and continue to print cash there. We don't need you and your attitude in Mill Valley. The only reason I give you two stars is because the burger really is good. It's a shame your attitude is garbage. Good luck....

This place is horrible!!! I had been so excited when I heard Super Duper was opening in Mill Valley but it was such a let down. The first problem started when I tried to call to place a to-go order and was only able to get a recording. I decided to go down in person to place my order. Once I got there is took forever to get my order and the staff was completely clueless. I thought I would give them a break since the place had just opened but when I got home I noticed that they messed up EVERY burger I ordered. I would have called to complain but you can't even speak to someone over the phone. The meat was overcooked, tough, and greasy. Next time you need a burger in MV stick to Pearl's.

Okay, It's been a week so the bugs aren't quite worked out. The place was packed even on a Monday lunch but that's winter break in South Marin. First, the burger: Deliciously juicy, messy in a good way. Would like a bigger bun but for $6.50 for a two patty (total 1/2 half pound) with all the fix in's, it's a good deal. Another reviewer complained about the burger falling apart but that's because it's mostly meat and not filler. No complaints here. It tastes and looks like meat! It was seasoned well and was much better than In and Out's version. The Counter's burger is drier and smaller and more expensive but then, there's table service. The fries were so-so, you know the kind, sort of crisp the first 5 minutes then it starts doing the soggy limpy thing. Fries were $2.00 for a portion about 2/3 size of McDonalds. More if you want to add the special sauces for which I passed. The staff were just great, friendly, efficient and fast. Could use more hair nets in the front, but that's just me, I like the clean/sterile thing when it comes to food. The downsides were the space, noisy, a bit fast food left over from the Jack in the Box past, but with lots of added wood. Had the double chocolate and chip milkshake. It was more chocolate chip cookie rather than really chips. It was tasty but rather thin, not really worth it at $6.50. Use the money and get another double burger. I was expecting to be Super Duped but was pleasantly surprised. Would I come back again? Most assuredly. The Counter if I'm not in a rush, Pearl's phat burgers if I want gourmet buffalo, and now Super Duper if I want fast and good.

I don't know how much their food costs, but my husband brought home a few of their fine burgers one late evening on his way back from San Francisco and these burgers were to-die-for! I wasn't even hungry and I devoured one of these FRESH juicy burgers in minutes...no complaints here!! He said that the place was empty and the service was fast.

  • Joe K.

The burger was greasy (not juicy). The "juice" was literally coagulating on the table as it dripped everywhere. When I tried to wipe it away, it had already hardened into lard lumps. Yuk. I took a look at the patties -- more like steamed meatballs than grilled burgers. The special sauce was either tasteless or someone forgot to put it on. The pickle jar lid was broken and I nearly spilled the whole thing trying to lift it off. The garlic fries might have been good if they had been fully cooked. As for the milkshake, it was tasty -- but because the glass is ridiculously narrow and tall -- you barely are satisfied given the cost ($4.50). Which reminds me: 2 burgers, 2 garlic fries, a shake and a white wine -- all served with no silverware or plate -- comes to $35 with tip? It BETTER be super duper. Add to that the overly dim lighting and grey walls which make you feel like you're eating in a basement -- and all I can say is: I feel super-duped by Super Duper.

Bummer... JUST OKAY and no way it it worth the $32 it cost to buy 2 kid's cheeseburgers (mini's) 2 regular cheeseburgers (doubles), 2 fries and 1 soda that they forgot to give me. This was my 3rd trip to Super Duper in 4 weeks and; regrettably, each time has been more disappointing. I don't think I will be going back (except maybe to get the soda). The first time was decent, but certainly not great or amazing, but worth another visit. The 2nd time, I rushed out for a lunch run to get 6 burgers for myself and co-workers. I had had a Q & A with the person taking orders to decide which burger to order (Mini or double). I had decided on, and thought I clearly ordered the larger of the 2 choices. When I got back to work and discovered we had 6 mini's in the bag..... I called just to let them know, as it was a busy day at work. I was polite and stated I wanted to bring it to their attention... that it was disappointing and we didn't have time to send someone back for correct order The person that answered argued with me saying I did in fact say I wanted the Mini's. Wouldn't I KNOW what I ordered??? Anyway, I didn't expect an argument, a simple... "sorry about that, we hope you'll try us again and we will get it right next time" This time, I get back home and realized the coke wasn't with the order and called to let them know. Again, I was polite. The Manager "Saturday" (or something like that) was very polite and apologetic and told me to mention it next time I'm there and it would be no problem. Although, the "next time" will probably be, only to get the cola they owe me. I look at it like this..... times are tight. Getting take out is a splurge. For my hard earned money, I'd like a value, a good meal and the correct order. I'm sorry, but I think In N Out is better, more of a value, and the order is always right and they are very pleasant all the time!

This was absolutely one of the best burgers I've had in years. Juicy, flavorful, fabulous. And the mini at $4.50 is just the right size and price. The garlic fries are fantastic, thin and crunchy with lots of chunks of garlic. And I love the fact that you can get beer and wine here. Can't wait to go back!

Burgers

Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.

Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.

McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States.
