I had heard about this place from many friends that live here that are from back east like me. Met Bob on Tuesday the owner. Super nice guy from Bensonhurst NY in Brooklyn. The staff including his son were super nice and accommodating. They make everything fresh to order. The salad dressing takes me back to the flavors at home you can't get here with fresh oregano, basil and thyme, making the salad very fresh and flavorful. The pizzas themselves were cooked to order and nice and thin the way I like it. The sauce was sweet but not chunky or overpowering and the crust and cheese blend together perfectly. The only reason I'm not giving a five here is because the decor is old and dated, but this is a place that thrives on the food, not the decor, which is the way many of the pizza places back home are like so it's not too surprising. I'm eager to try their catering on the road as well. Should wow my friends and guests to be sure. Will definitely be back. Even Ray Romano stops by here when he's in town and he's pretty discriminating about food quality as well.

Part of my disappointment is my fault, I figured a place calling themselves Brooklyn pizza would be good pizza, and thus raised my expectations ( they are usually pretty low for pizza in L.A). I should have stuck with my low expectations. The pizza was soggy and if it didn't have a hundred toppings it would have been uninspiring. We did delivery and they put the pizza on some wax paper for some reason and half the pizza was stuck to the paper, which caused the pizza to rip when removing a slice. I'm not sure of the reason for the wax paper. Not sure why people think this place is cheap either, $25 dollars for a mediuml pizza is not cheap in my book.

Absolutely LOVE this place! Had a few beers, pasta dishes & the gluten free pizza & it was all DELICIOUS! Met the family that owns it & runs it, all super cool with great customer service. Love to find these type of places when we are on vacation! We will definitely be back before we head back to Austin.

By far the best pizza restaurant I have had in Southbay. The marinara, mozzarella and thin NY style crust was phenomenal. Great beer selection too. Will definetly return.

Since I can remember I've been coming to Brooklyn Brick Oven Pizza since I was a toddler. My dad always loved with Bob's (owner) pizza so it's no surprise that me and my sister jumped on board. Always be prepared to be overly welcomed and taken care by the employees and if Bob is there, oh man, you know you came at the right time. NOW if you're looking for authentic flat out good New York Brooklyn pizza then this is the place. The pizza is always made with fresh dough and toppings and its cooked to perfection. Brooklyn Brick Oven Pizza has never been a disappointment for me, my family and friends and it's always our first choice when it comes to amazing pizza and good beer!

Old-school New York pizza at its finest!!! This is the real deal, people! Don't be shallow and get caught up in the reviews regarding the decor. If you like authentic, delicious, New York style pizza, gluten free options as well, this place cannot be beat! I read some complaints about the outdated decorations etc. but if you're a foodie, and appreciate old-school ambience, this place is a hidden gem stone! And don't forget to check out the awesome salads and the many microbrews on tap! Family run for over 20 years, you have to do yourself a favor and check this place out!! Best New York style pizza west of the Mississippi!!! As far as the decor goes, I think it's really awesome!!!! Not a chain store by any stretch of the imagination, and I like that. These mom-and-pop shops are dying every day, it's up to us to support them!!

Whatever you do don't order the Sicilian....its absolute garbage and can't even really be considered sicilian. Nothing I had here taste like NY or Italian pizza. Just another half assed pizza place....this was also my second attempt here and that was only because of the good reviews.

Great place! Ryan is awesome. Great cheese calzone and pizza. They also have some really good beer. Yum yum yum. Come for lunch special I got a calzone plus a drink for $5.50. I stubled walking from work around the corner at cop a tan and decided to check it out glad I did! Ordering pizza for my roomates as I type this!!! Woo!

Thanks Bob, Bob, and Brooklyn for great salad, pasta, pizza, and cannoli. All dishes are clearly made by hand and to order. Most importantly they are crafted with love! We felt like guests at our friends home and it was our fist visit ever! Also, we did not leave with a heavy, greasy feeling in our stomachs! Great food at a great price served by great people. You can't beat a dad working with son and daughter.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I've been coming here for years with my family, maybe a little too often because Bob actually knows our order by heart! Bob is the owner and he is awesome. Super nice guy, good customer service and the best pizza I've ever had. My parents, both from New York swear by this place and that's saying a lot because those two are incredibly picky. In fact I let my dad choose ANYWHERE to have his birthday dinner and every time, his first choice is always this place. If you're on the fence about it, do it. Seriously.

Love the pizza here! I'm from New York and it's the closest I've had to the real thing! When I'm homesick for NYC, I get pizza here and it's a comfort. Dine in atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired, but the owner, Bob and the regular guys that work there are great! Try it soon!

My BF & I went here for date night a few weeks ago. The food was so GOOD! The crust was amazing, just how we like it & the cheese OMG. To top it off, everyone there was super nice. I def recommend this spot if you're looking for a delicious slice of pizza & great service :) can't wait to go back soon.

DELICIOUS!! Went there for lunch and they have a great lunch special. 2 cheese slices + 16oz drink $5 FIVE BUCKS!!! Staff was super friendly! The slices came out piping HOT and the cheese was melting every which way.. The crust was crispy, crunchy, and I wanna say "buttery" but I know that's not the right word... They also have a nice variety of beer, which is always a plus! Yes, there's a pizza buffet across the street but if you like NY style pizza, you gotta try this place!! It's not just a pizzeria claiming to be Brooklyn style/NY style just because their pizza has thin crust, IT ACTUALLY IS BROOKLYN STYLE! WIN!

Small shop with outstanding pizza. Super nice owner. Would go out of my way to come back.

This place is the real deal, great pizza and great friendly service. One of the guys took the time to go over their menu of local micro brews they had to offer in great detail to make sure I got what I wanted. We also ordered the cheesy bread and white pizza, both were awesome. If I am in the Hermosa / Manhattan Beach area again, I will definitely be going there.

It doesn't get any better and the pitcher 16" pizza deal is amazing... The thing is huge! Could feed 4!

Limp tasteless pizza Place completely empty Does not promote confidence when no one is in there They need to advertise But more importantly cook a better tasting pizza that's not too saucy and limp And falls apart

We came here with several teenagers looking for a place that could accommodate a group (9). The owner was super nice and I wanted to like the place but the pizza was poor and the plates were dirty. Plates were handed to the person at the end of the table in a stack, as were the plastic cups, no ice. Plates were dusty with black, chalky residue. Good beer selection, unfortunately served in a plastic cup of lesser quality than a red cup. Pizza toppings slid off of every piece revealing what looked like a partially cooked, milky white, limp, thin crust. Not a good pizza by any measure. Toppings seemed fresh but all 3 large pizzas were not prepared or cooked well. We came here based on the reviews here on Yelp. I don't know how anyone could rate the food or service above 2 stars. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.

It's not Pizzeria Mozza, but I come here once in awhile. The pizzas are cheap, and are very VERY similar to the pizzas you would buy in New York! There are tons of condiments you could add to your pizza, they have it all. It's never really too busy, the times I have been here. There are also tons of parking.

A long time Southbay staple. Moved here from a Hermosa Beach location to the current Manhattan Beach location. The owner, Bobby, is very nice and makes excellent pizza. The Brooklyn style brick oven pizza is always very good. I prefer to get it takeout and delivery as the store interior is on the small side and a little bit dark. Otherwise would highly recommend. There is adjacent street parking which is usually open.

Parking can be an issue and the traffic on PCH flies by the driveway so stay in the right lane and signal early. Not much to look at inside, older tables and chairs and a huge old projection TV but the pizza is pretty darn good. If you like thin crust, drips that beautiful yellow oil when you fold it to take that first bite, I believe you'll like this place. Great 2 slice and a soda deal for $5.45 (including tax), friendly staff especially if you want to talk football. If you haven't already tried it, I'd recommend it.

Very nice people! Owner is from Brooklyn and his daughter is named that. First time it wasn't good at all. 2nd it was better. it just needs more sauce and cheese and then I would give it 4 STARS. Good beer list!

Great Place nice people work there, place was clean, pie was all NYC. Baked Zitti was just like my aunt's who is from Brooklyn. Don't understand some of these negative reviews unless you're looking for new age pizza this is authentic NY Pizza, Salad was nice crisp fresh lettuce and dressings were good. I have no problem ordering from here ever.

Ordered online and it took 2 hours for the pizza to get delivered only after I called at and hour and a half after ordering to find out if the pizza was in the way. When it arrived, the pizza was cold. We had to heat it up in our oven and then I found the pizza to be undesirable and resorted to eating the frozen pizza in my freezer... It tasted better. I called the restaurant to let them know it was cold, they said to call their website service to get a refund. When I spoke to the website, they had to call the restaurant back to get approval and only allowed for a 50% refund. So all in all, bad experience, bad service, bad tasting food, and person who told me id get a refund without any issues lied. Don't order from them.

I place an order at 11:15 (the place opens at 11). the guy who answered was busy making a pizza and I had to hold for 2-3 times. finally, he put someone else on the phone, I ordered hot wings, sauteed mushrooms, antipasto salad, Italian Combo, tuna Salad, Tuna Melt. 1) I get a call about 30 mins later to be inform they ran out of TUNA. 2) the guy who called is in such a rush he's not even given me the opportunity to choose something else from the menu. but I did order something else 3) 12:22 called the restaurant again. same guy answers and tells me 5 minutes for my delivery. 12:35 food gets deliver 4) Hot wings - DO NOT ORDER 5) sauteed mushroom and antipasto salad - descent 6) Tuna Melt - WHERE IS THE TUNA???? tuna Salad - NO MORE TUNA!!! 7) Italian combo and chicken breast sandwhich (replacement for tuna salad) OK.

So many health code violations. Where do I even begin? Forget everything I said in my previous review. We went back for dinner this week and it was terrible! The cook from last week went off to deliver an order, so the owner actually cooked for us. Bummer. We all had pasta, and two of us couldn't eat what we were served. I had the "Chicken Milanese", which was supposed to be chicken and pasta in a lemon-garlic sauce. I got some undercooked rigatoni in lemon juice. The chicken was breaded and had that disgusting game-y taste that you get when you microwave leftover chicken. The breading was mushy, so you could tell they had fried the chicken, frozen/refrigerated it, and then reheated it again. My mom had the Pomodoro, but it was just a mass of angel hair with some spaghetti sauce that tasted store-bought. There was no garlic flavor in anything! We put in an order for a pizza as well, which we never got. And while we were waiting, we got to watch them cook. Big mistake. They use garlic POWDER. In an Italian restaurant! That's a cardinal sin, I'm sure! Also spotted: No handwashing. Even when starting a new shift. Or after cleaning the restroom. They store pizza dough in old butter tubs. I have my Certified Food Handler card. All of these are no-nos in the health inspector's book. Some friend came in to hang out with the manager-type guy. He totally went behind the counter and started snacking on a handful of pepperoni , went back for more and then made himself a plate. And then ate.....while still behind the counter. All of this is against the health code.

After receiving a call from the owner regarding my posting, I felt obliged to add to my original comment. I hastily mentioned the van parked outside on PCH advertising out of desperation and that really had nothing to do with the real reason I posted a negative comment. The pizza is greasy, but some like greasy pizza. The salad was fresh and worth every penny. Getting called a douchebag by the owner for not tipping the driver over the additional delivery fee and posting a negative comment on Yelp? Priceless!

This homey Italian pizza joint in Hermosa has just the right pinch of Sicily to keep you coming back. From calzones to thin crust brick oven pizza, there is a delicious smoky flavor in each bite. Staff extremely friendly. Good prices as well ($5 10' pizzas).

I've eaten here twice in the past couple years. I try to eat healthy so that's why... The pizza here is amazing!!!! I love how greasy it is! I think most people don't know the restaurant is even there and that 's why it's never crowded. It's really hard to see from the street even though they park a car on the steet with their name on it. Come here if you loooooooooooooove super greasy NY style pizza.

Best Pizza - awesome dough! Something about Bobby Udovich's pizza......the dough he uses is OLD SCHOOL.....most pizzerias use Mondako Flour, and they do not.....so this dough is light and the texture is amazing. The topping are fresh....and the Clazones are insane......Mozzarella and Ricotta - then dip it in Homemade Alfredo Sauce.......mmmmmmm Yes the place is divey, but they have been around a long time for a reason......good food. Period

Ordered the chicken parm for delivery and it was probably the worst I've ever had - hardly any breading, chewy, and a tiny portion. I'd give them 1 star but the bread was pretty good and the spaghetti that came with it wasn't bad.

Really top notch service. I cannot stress that enough. We placed a very large order for the office. The staff was very accommodating, and the owner even followed up with a call later to check on how the food went over. We got two large servings, one of baked ziti and one of penne with marinara and roasted tomatoes. Both were really, really good. The marinara was especially terrific. We also grabbed a large serving of their house salad, which was gone in about 15 minutes. These guys know what they're doing, and I can't recommend it enough. Haven't dined here individually, which is the only thing keeping me from giving it the full 5 stars.

Pros: Good quality NY style of Pizza. The lunch special was a great deal with 2 slices being more than enough for our lunch break! Cons: $.25 cent refills and dry crust are the only complaints I would have with this place.

Found this gem totally by accident when we moved back to the South Bay summer 2011. This has quickly become a family favorite and although they deliver, tonight was the first time we have ever had the do so as we love to go in, see Bob or Ryan and the rest of the staff, watch a little sports on the big TV, drink a cold beer and eat an incredible pizza and their house dressing OMG! Oh and the kids - LOVE the Italian Ice's - great addition!! Never disappointed and even after trying 2 or 3 other closer places, we haven't found any better so we quit looking and Brooklyn is OUR Pizza Place!!

I didn't get my pizza yet but customer service here is zero, the guy in front of the business confuse the numbers and charge me $5 more, but I help him a little bit with this and we set up a deal, he was very comprehensive. I'll let you know guys how the pizza is in my next post. ok, the pizza it was good but no for the price, $30+ for a pizza ?? come on!! even at manhattan beach or mamaD's you don't pay this money for a nice pizza.

Pizza (22") was pretty darn good and definitely one of the larger pies in SoCal (not many do larger than 18")...but the service was so-so...there was only one guy working the counter and cooking at the time...and we felt we were inconveniencing him with our order.

seriously greasy hot slices of new york pizza. not sure why people don't like it. (aside from the fact that some don't like greasy pizzas, in which case have no business trying new york style pizzas to begin with) maybe i'm missing something. i'll be back here a few more times at least, since it's next door to my chiropractor. maybe i'll have to edit my ratings later, but for now, a solid 4.

Hands down the best pizza and best staff, especially Bob, the owner, in L.A. You haven't eaten pizza until you have eaten here!

Hole in the wall. $1.50 slice of pizza, you can't go wrong. Definitely NY style pizza. When I think of NY pizza, I think of barely any crust and cheese only. Lunch special: 2 phat (yup, phat with a P) cheese slices and a drink for $3. I'll definitely be back. Next time, I'll be ordering a large 2 topping pizza for $9.99 to be delivered to our office. What a deal! I want to try the calzone.

Well, I have been in here from time to time when I just wanted a slice of pizza - not the whole thing. Today was the day, but I also wanted more since I had been fasting for some blood work. I walked in and was surprised to see two tables full of people because there is usually Hardly anyone in there. It looked like some sort of going-away party or birthday? The two people working appeared to be overwhelmed. In fact one told the other to work the counter because he was faster with the food. Another person who came in right behind me and I laughed at that. So I ordered a slice. By the way, the price for a slice has increased from $1.50 to $2.50 - quite an increase. I also wanted some pasta so I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. I was told to take a seat, so I did. Usually i just take the pizza to a table. I was asked what kind of dressing I wanted on the salad. I was surprised at the question because the menu does not say anything about side dishes. I also ordered water to drink. I got the water and pizza after about 10 minutes which was fine as I had reading material with me. The crust of the pizza was, as always, wonderful! Crisp and you can fold it up length-wise to eat and that is how I like it. Then came the salad and some toasted bread. The bread was also a surprise, but it was not good. Not sure what it was supposed to be, but it seemed like toasted bread with butter. But the biggest surprise of all was how awful the spaghetti and meatballs were! It had absolutely no flavor. I always judge an Italian restaurant by its red sauce. This sauce was bland and very watery. And the meatballs were inedible. I really tried to like it but I couldn't. I didn't even ask for a takeout box for what I didn't eat. It just wasn't worth the effort. But I do have to say that the price was right if you just want cheap food. It was $8.00. I also asked for a spoon to twist my spaghetti. He said they didn't have any but brought me a small plastic spoon. Guess it was better than nothing. What Italian restaurant doesn't have big spoons? They seem to do virtually all of their business with pizza. I didn't see any reviews for their pasta dishes. Even the pizza didn't seem as good as before. Lots of cheese and a thin crust (both good) but virtually no sauce. I will only be back when I am hankering one piece of pizza. There was no friendliness in the place, I am guessing because they had more than two customers. Now for good meatballs locally, go to Old Venice in downtown Manhattan Beach. I

Dangerous. Bad pizza and they park their van dangerously for the selfish reason that people swerve to avoid it on the street and notice their sign (where no one else parks and many cars have to travel on busy Sepulveda Ave).

I consider myself a pizza specialist. I love pizza, especially brick oven pizza. This is the best pizza I have had outside of Chicago. The owner and his son(s) are very inviting and it feels very comfortable sitting in restaurant. I have already highly recommended this place to anyone that will listen.

This pizza joint is nothing to rave about. Came in for a make-it-yourself-3-toppings-slice (mushrooms, garlic, tomatoes). The mushrooms were a little old and the garlic was GREEN. It was cheap (under $3) and the crust was thin and crunchy but all in all, I wouldn't go out of my way to get some. Sorry Brooklyn Brick Oven Pizza, I really really wanted to like you : /

Just 'cause a place has signed photos of celebrities and a framed article about their wares doesn't mean it's good. If authentic Brooklyn pizza = greasy and unremarkable, then I'll stay in CA. I can't complain about the $5 lunch deal I got: one slice of pizza, a house salad, and a 16 oz drink, but despite my wallet feeling satisfied, I wasn't. The pizza was well beyond acceptably greasy, and since my group was the day's first customers, I know it hadn't been sitting around. Not only was the pizza greasy, so was EVERYTHING else, literally: the plastic tablecloth, the menus, the salt/pepper/cheese/etc. shakers, hell, even my styrofoam cup was greasy! And speaking of styrofoam: even though we dined in, lunch was incredibly unenvironmentally sound: styrofoam cups and paper plates, with wax paper under the pizza so I guess it didn't immediately soak through the plate. I understand paper napkins, but why can't I at least get a plastic cup and plate if I'm dining in? The ambiance was sort of cute: six tables with checkered tablecloths, NY teams' pennants and posters all over, a mural of the NY skyline, and a big TV for watching sports. Not usually the kind of place I'd end up in, but if the food was good, I might. However, I won't.

Been ordering delivery from them for a couple of years. Consistently the best pizza in the South Bay. Stopped in tonight to get a to go order. I had such a good time talking with the staff, I had them keep my order warm as I enjoyed a really good Belgian draft!

I really wanted to like this joint but a personal size pizza for $11 should taste pretty good. Unfortunately, it was "meh." Will keep looking for a pizza joint that serves better stuff than what I can find in the frozen food aisle for a fraction of the price.

it's pizza. Fine, but you're not missing anything and I like Boston Wildflour better. I think the real solution to this problem is that pizza places should stop alluding to Brooklyn and New York in general in their names. Yeah, we get you want to appeal to a certain clientele, but that clientele is PICKY and admittedly snobbish about their pizza. And we have dreams of finding a west coast Johns on Bleecker. When we inevitably don't get that, I am happy yo just settle for Pizza Hut.

I grew up in New York City (Manhattan and Brookly) so I've had a lot of pizza. Brooklyn Brick Oven has the pizza that reminds me most of NYC pizza. But what I remember growing up is that pizza should not an expensive food to eat. Maybe this establishment is reflecting the Manhattan Beach rents that it may be paying but two pies shouldn't cost over $40 does it? True NY pizzas should not be a "gourmet" food! C'mon! at a time when the chains like Papa John's is offering large pies for $10 with toppings, it would be great if good tasting pizza could be more affordable. Can't something taste good and be affordable? How about family discounts? How about a discount to families with kids in schools in the neighborhood?

If Snooki and the Situation moved to the South bay, this is where they would eat..... This is a no-frills joint !!! Being from NJ, this place reminds me of home. It's just a neighborhood pizzeria that isn't trying to impress you with spectacular decor and ambiance. The pizza is good, fresh, and "burn the top of your mouth" hot!! The pizza is cheap, so a baller on a budget can definitely eat here a few times a week and not break the bank. For lunch, you can get 2 slices of pizza and a 16oz. drink for $3 !!! crazy!! The pictures on the walls and counter are clear examples of where the owner's roots lie. You can't miss the picture of Ray Romano and those other actor/paisano's while you are ordering. and while you are dining in, you are eating and staring at the NYC skyline. Whats better than that??He's a yankee fan which is great and also carries the games on his enormous large screen tv. no flat screens. no lcd's. just a very large outdated tv. perfect! it took me a few months to find some northeast style pizza, but here it is. come one, come all.

This place is kind of a hole-in-the-wall. It's very small, and not quite inviting on the inside. However, the food was good, and pretty reasonably priced for this area. My husband and I ordered on our way home, and the pizza was ready and hot by the time we got there. There was quite a bit of grease, not too much cheese, and a thin crust. I was a fan. We would probably order from here again, but not on a regular basis. Their garlic cheese bread was not worth the price. There were only 4 (small) pieces and was about $4. They tasted alright, but I have definitley had better. Overall, decent food, but not amazing.

I went here with a co-worker for lunch today and boy what a disappointment. I ordered a personal pizza and a large drink. The drink was flat. It was like cola flavored water. That was the first sign that this place was just not right. The pizza arrived and although it was piping hot that was all it had going for it. Absolutely NO flavor whatsoever. Did the guy behind the counter use old ingredients? My buddy commented on how the pizza resembled card board. It was terrible. I will not return to this place. The food sucked! Later on in the day my stomach hurt and I blame the lunch I had for that. Skip this joke of an eating establishment.

Terrible! first the business itself was hard to find, i thought it was the chiropractors office. Second when i walked in they looked at me like a deer and headlights and ignored me for 10 minutes. Third my pizza was very doughy with NO FLAVOR. I ordered hot wings and they were burnt. Literally, burnt. Burnt wings with hot sauce poured over them. I do not recommend this place and i wont be coming back

One of my favorite places to eat. The owner is a great guy, and that counts alot anywhere I spend my money. The food is very good, but since this is a review site, I must say something. CALZONES! This place has always made an excellent calzone. Try it and you will see what I mean. Then judge this place. How often can you find a long time local restaurant with reasonable prices in Manhattan Beach? Beer is always nice and cold. The last time I was in, they poured an excellent Belgian style beer.

We would pass by and see this place all the time until finally my husband decided we would actually stop by and try it since WE LOVE PIZZA! We went and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by everyone working there, we sat at a table and ordered pizza and garlic cheese bread and when we got our food OMG WE FELL IN LOVE!!!! We can't stop going back to this place, we have took my daughter, son in law and sister which have all fell in LOVE with this place. They treat you like your family which is very rare since most places take your order and don't bother on checking to see if you need anything. I have tried so many pizza places since WE LOVE PIZZA but now there is only one pizza place we can't stop going to which is Brooklyn Brick Oven Pizza because of the GREAT quality of food and the GREAT customer service!!! I totally recommend this place to any pizza lover!

Ted's got it, I would equate this pie with something you'd find in Midtown Manhattan, at the $2 a slice places (think Bravo pizza). That's to say it's a hell of a lot better than 99% of the other pizza places in the South Bay, or most of LA for that matter. The owner is awesome too, super friendly and authentic.

Brooklyn as you can probably guess is a New York style pizzeria but they do have Sicilian square pies too. There are lots of NY memorabilia on the walls and they have often work with Raleigh Studio so they have East Coast celebrities that come by for some pie and leave them with an autographed photo. They do have fancy smancy pizzas too such as a Greek pizza with sun dried tomato, feta and olives or a eggplant, tomato, spinach with ricotta pizza. This is a small family run business and they do deliver

I LOVE this place! I'm originally from nj and my family grew up in Brooklyn- this is perfecto! It's amazing to go there or to get delivery. I cannot say enough good things - just thinking about it makes my mouth water. thank you so much for having this place! Now that i found good pizza, can someone tell me where i can find a good bagel????

True NY pizza and delicious antipasto with generous amounts of meat & pepperoncini. Great family owned business with fast, friendly service plus they support high school sports teams.

My favorite place in the South Bay maybe all of LA for an amazing pie. The owner Bob is a riot he makes the ocassion everytime. And for the Haters on the B grade have never owend a restaurant i'm sure and if they did they'd know you cant judge a book by its cover. This place is clean and the food is phenomonal

It's not the nicest, cleanest or friendliest place, but the pizza is beyond delicious!! Rarely do I order a pizza with no toppings; the cheese pizza at this place doesn't need anything else. If you want a quick, inexpensive place with great pizza, this is the place.

Love this place. I usually get the 16" pizza with for 7.99 coupon. I think its a great deal. I really like the cheese on it, a little different then most places around here.

The pizza is pretty comparable to what you would find on the East Coast. The staff are fun to chat with and the prices are pretty comparable with any other pizzeria in the area.

I like this place. The cheese pizza is good. The meal deals are cheap. They serve Stella beer, there is an old big screen tv and the place is always empty. It is kind of authentic. the owner is from Brooklyn. No Jose's or Habib's in this place. Just pictures of Brooklyn bridge and mafioso actors. Wear your gold chain w/ wife beater and you will be in style. don't forget the dinner jacket. I wouldn't leave bad reviews on this place, they probably know people in the mob as all east coasters do. On the down side, the upkeep of the place is not fantastic. And there is just something costco-ish about the pizza. I don't think it's the best ingredients. I'm only going there for the cheap lunch specials from now on.

Ordered a thin crust pizza and antipasto salad for delivery via LAbite during evening of 3/31/12. Miserable pizza. The delivery person had actually handled pizza from the side of the box - shifting all ingredients from top off pizza off to side. Grease was literally dripping out of the pizza box. The antipasto salad was NOT prepared based on the menu's listed ingredients. So, after waiting almost an hour and paying for the delivery - the food went in the trash. Lesson learned. Will never patronize this Brooklyn Brick Oven Pizza location, or any other location AGAIN. Horrible, unedible, food.

Holy Canolli !!! This place is located in a two story business complex. For you old timers, Cassidy's used to be above this place. There is adequate parking. There are about 6 tables inside. It's got a lot of old photos and pictures of NYC. It's not a fancy shmancy place. It's a working mans type place that serves Pizza, Sandwiches and Pasta. The proprietor has a heavy NY accent. I got the 10" personal pizza with sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms. It's thin crust and doesn't over populate the pizza with too much. In other words, one person can eat this pizza. The pizza isn't pretty. It's a pizza. No concerns about presentation at this place. It's named Brooklyn for a reason. Nothing pretentious about this place. The pizza was good for the price. Not the best pizza, but good enough that I would come back. On my way out, I bought a canolli to go. My total cost was less than $11. I just ate the canolli with some coffee and it was the best canolli i've eaten. I don't think I'm an expert on canolli's and I've had a few in NYC and other places. This one was freshly filled and the shell was crispy.

I live in San Diego and commute to a Manhattan Beach corporate apartment for four days a week. Said apartment is a short walk from Brooklyn Brick Oven Pizza. I usually drop off my stuff at the apartment then walk over to the pizza shop for lunch or dinner. They have numerous luncheon deals - two cheese slices and a soda for $3 bucks. You can add any toppings to your slice for a slight increase in price. My usual - I have been there so much they might name it after me "The Mike" is the cheese roll appetizer, two slices of pepperoni, pineapple and onion, with a Red Hook draft. The beer is cold, the cheese rolls a mass of gooey cheesiness with dough that is baked just enough not to be crispy - an overall chewy, tangy cheesy, goodness package with tangy marinara for dipping. And the slices right out of the brick oven - thin crust, lots of cheese, and the toppings on top. All piping hot out of the oven. The decor is dated New York - its fun and the host is always willing to talk about New York or sports or just leave you alone after a bad day. The pizza is way better than a chain restaurant and you are supporting a local mom and pop. I eat there at least once a week - and my usual comes out to about 15 bucks, about 10 if I forgo the beer. A great deal on really good food.

If you like cardboard, you'll love this place. Ordered a Lemon Chicken Pizza tonight, got it home and it was extremely dry and tasted/looked like it was just a pizza that had been cooked earlier, then reheated. Also worth noting the dough was some of stalest I have ever had. Asked for a refund, they declined and only opted to cook me another pizza. I agree with the "B" rating the state of CA has given this place and with the fellow disgruntled reviewers who think they do not use fresh products...pretty clear to me that they do not. really disappointed... PS - If I called to say the pizza was horrible, why the fuck would I want you to make me another one???? JUST GIVE ME MY $20 BACK!!

thanks for the YEAST pizza. made my car smell all the way home and 3 weeks later. gave me the shits. seriously? pizza is easy. the staff is pretty horrendous. never got acknowledged by one of 4 people standing around. i just pulled up a seat and knew when mine was ready and stood up. no thank you, no good night. nothing. so i got served an overpriced yeast tasting/smelling pizza, w/ shit service on top. at least this place should change their name and stop doing injustice to the people and pizza of brooklyn/new york. never again.

The owner who is straight from Brooklyn does a great job at creating classic NYC style pizza pies. The customer service is good and the place looks like a typical weathered NYC pizzeria except it isn't located in Manhattan. The establishment has been in LA for years and is consistently good. I am truly a fan!!!

I just went here for the first time and I was very disappointed. The guy working there was authentically brooklyn but after that nothing else was. The pizza was greasy and far too cheesy. There was hardly any pepperoni or sauce. The place was empty at lunch time and now I see why. For a much more superior slice in the southbay go to one of the bonellos locations.

Best sandwiches in the south bay!!! Always friendly! Good people! Good fresh food!

First a note to the WeHo chicks who don't like greasy pizza: "Go eat somewhere else" (this is actually a general note for any West LA residents -- We in the south bay don't want to see any of you). This place is the real deal! The owner/operator is the real thing, raised in Brooklyn, graduated Brooklyn Tech High School, and knows how to make pizza: Crust is thin, sauce tasty, enough cheese to cover, and the whole pie should be a bit greasy. This isn't tofu or a colonic irrigation. This is pizza, and it is made the way it should be. They have some well priced pizza and pitcher of beer combos and a flat screen TV. What else do you need?

Great pizza! The best dough and crust that I have had on the west coast. I am from the east coast and thought nobody out here could get it right until I had a slice at this place today! Good Job!! and the guy behind the counter was super nice and friendly too.

Since I'm always trying to find a pizza place that my whole family likes, I thought I'd try out the coupon I got today for Brooklyn Brick Oven for a cheese pizza at $7.99. Orderedjust that, and they guy calls back to say his boss informs him there's a minimum $15.00 purchase necessary since I live WAY over in north Manhattan. So I order a salad to bring the total to $15.00. Then the guy is informed again by his boss that there's an additional $3.00 delivery charge. Now I can see by reading the previous reviews how lucky I am that I cancelled the order.

I entered the restaurant for lunch because I was hungry and ordered a slice of pizza. The place doesn't look like much so my expectation was low. I was so pleasantly surprised I returned that evening with my family which includes two boys under 3. The pizza came quickly and was enjoyed by all. My older son had a ball dipping the crust into a side of sauce. The pizza is thin crust and had a lot of flavor. My wife order something else (don't remember what is called) but she said it was one of the best she's had. The guys that work there were very nice and we enjoyed the informal atmosphere. They weren't too busy so they chatted with us and even gave us suggestions of places to visit. We'll go again.

We bought into the "brickoven" and were sorely disappointed. The pizza arrived warm and not very good. We literally heated most of it back up in the oven, which did not help. Go to Beach Pizza if you want pizza in MB, otherwise you're on your own.

Went here a couple of times. I noticed the health violations when I picked up the first time but ive got a strong stomach so i wasnt worried. Pizza was ok. I alternate every two weeks in another state, and I try to hit new places every time I'm in the area, but I was in a hurry and they were handy so I went back. Mistake. As I was waiting for them to finish making my order, I heard something like "damn, I dropped..." and the owner went back and talked to the other guy but I didn't relate it to my order. When the boxed pizza came out, the owner started chatting with me and asked if I was local. I said no. He rang me out and when I got back to my room, I found that the pizza had obviously been dropped on it's side and the toppings were all jammed to the side of the box. I called and they accused me of dropping it. It was late and I was flying out in the morning so I let it go. I call that theft. Enough said.

For a pizzeria that has Brooklyn in the name you'd expect a half-decent pizza. Way too much flour on the bottom of the crust made it feel like your pizza had been dropped on the beach, yet it was somehow soggy. Toppings were unimpressive as was the sauce. The east-coast accent doesn't make up for the sub-par pizza...

E. C.
I really really wanted to like it. Truly, I did. But I cannot tell a lie - for me, it was just a-ok. After placing our order, we had to wait forever because they had a huge delivery order going out. Started with the cheese bread - which was nothing to write home about - akin to Pizza Huts cheesy crust. And it wasn't that the pizza was bad - it was ok, just not spectacular. I did enjoy the thin crust. I'd recommend getting take out or delivery, as part of the reason the experience was ruined was the disgusting bathroom that day. The subs looked awesome - maybe i'll try that next time.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(5)Nathan L.

(5)Ann P.
(5)Bob C.
Whatever you do don't order the Sicilian....its absolute garbage and can't even really be considered sicilian. Nothing I had here taste like NY or Italian pizza. Just another half assed pizza place....this was also my second attempt here and that was only because of the good reviews.
(1)Hazel F.
Woo!
(5)Eddie B.
(5)Alexandra K.
Seriously.
(5)Andrea D.
(5)rosemary c.
(5)Jon R.
WIN!
(4)Bonnie H.
Small shop with outstanding pizza. Super nice owner. Would go out of my way to come back.
(5)Bryan S.
(5)Taylor A.
It doesn't get any better and the pitcher 16" pizza deal is amazing... The thing is huge! Could feed 4!
(5)Ann S.
Limp tasteless pizza Place completely empty Does not promote confidence when no one is in there They need to advertise But more importantly cook a better tasting pizza that's not too saucy and limp And falls apart
(2)Tim T.
(1)Emily S.
(4)Erol O.
(5)Glen M.
(4)Andy C.
Very nice people! Owner is from Brooklyn and his daughter is named that. First time it wasn't good at all. 2nd it was better. it just needs more sauce and cheese and then I would give it 4 STARS. Good beer list!
(3)Louis B. M.
(4)Grant H.
One of the better NY style places in the south bay.
(4)K S.

Priceless!
(1)Quinn B.
This homey Italian pizza joint in Hermosa has just the right pinch of Sicily to keep you coming back. From calzones to thin crust brick oven pizza, there is a delicious smoky flavor in each bite. Staff extremely friendly. Good prices as well ($5 10' pizzas).
(4)Tiffany L.
(4)Viking V.
Great food. Great staff. Nice place. Owner is the coolesst person, his wife is great, and the food delicious. Try Antipasto salad, my favorite !
(5)Ro E.
Period
(5)Nick D.
Ordered the chicken parm for delivery and it was probably the worst I've ever had - hardly any breading, chewy, and a tiny portion. I'd give them 1 star but the bread was pretty good and the spaghetti that came with it wasn't bad.
(2)JE H.
(4)Chris R.
Pros: Good quality NY style of Pizza. The lunch special was a great deal with 2 slices being more than enough for our lunch break! Cons: $.25 cent refills and dry crust are the only complaints I would have with this place.
(4)Kim And Brian C.

(2)Gregory K C.

(4)Mitch M.
Hands down the best pizza and best staff, especially Bob, the owner, in L.A. You haven't eaten pizza until you have eaten here!
(5)ryan c.

(5)Marcela H.

Pizza was great!!! Service was great ad well! Check out special 16" pizza and pitcher of beer $16.95
(5)Kristine M.
I usually don't like pizza. But when my bf brought some home, I thought it was the best pizza I've ever had.. I then told him to take me to the place two days after coz I wanted to eat more... They make their pizza fresh .The calzone was delicious .. I really like this place. Best pizza ever
(5)RA M.
Been ordering delivery from them for a couple of years. Consistently the best pizza in the South Bay. Stopped in tonight to get a to go order. I had such a good time talking with the staff, I had them keep my order warm as I enjoyed a really good Belgian draft!
(5)Guillermo O.
I use come here when i lived in the south bay and let me tell you best pizza in town if im ever in the area i always come here is and amazin location. make sure you check it out.the food is really good
(5)Chris P.
Try Di Roma on Hawthorne. Fresh ingredients. Delicious pizza and nice atmosphere. Not by any means the dirty, nasty dive that Brooklyn a Pizza is
(1)Christopher M.
I tried this place for the first time tonight. I got an extra large pizza with the works, and it was excellent. I live very close, so I'll surely be ordering from here again several times in the future.
(4)N W.
I really wanted to like this joint but a personal size pizza for $11 should taste pretty good. Unfortunately, it was "meh." Will keep looking for a pizza joint that serves better stuff than what I can find in the frozen food aisle for a fraction of the price.
(2)Jason H.
(3)Wayne Y.
(3)Matthew M.
(4)Ashley H.

(1)Angel G.
Terrible! first the business itself was hard to find, i thought it was the chiropractors office. Second when i walked in they looked at me like a deer and headlights and ignored me for 10 minutes. Third my pizza was very doughy with NO FLAVOR. I ordered hot wings and they were burnt. Literally, burnt. Burnt wings with hot sauce poured over them. I do not recommend this place and i wont be coming back
(1)James I.
(5)Yesi S.
(5)Jim J.
(4)Cheri. A G.
(4)Jennifer K.
(5)Laurel W.
True NY pizza and delicious antipasto with generous amounts of meat & pepperoncini. Great family owned business with fast, friendly service plus they support high school sports teams.
(5)Adam B.
(5)Jessica C.
It's not the nicest, cleanest or friendliest place, but the pizza is beyond delicious!! Rarely do I order a pizza with no toppings; the cheese pizza at this place doesn't need anything else. If you want a quick, inexpensive place with great pizza, this is the place.
(4)Aaron F.
Love this place. I usually get the 16" pizza with for 7.99 coupon. I think its a great deal. I really like the cheese on it, a little different then most places around here.
(4)Shea L.
The pizza is pretty comparable to what you would find on the East Coast. The staff are fun to chat with and the prices are pretty comparable with any other pizzeria in the area.
(4)Lougey B.
(3)Robert B.

(4)Shaun H.
(1)Christopher S.
thanks for the YEAST pizza. made my car smell all the way home and 3 weeks later. gave me the shits. seriously? pizza is easy. the staff is pretty horrendous. never got acknowledged by one of 4 people standing around. i just pulled up a seat and knew when mine was ready and stood up. no thank you, no good night. nothing. so i got served an overpriced yeast tasting/smelling pizza, w/ shit service on top. at least this place should change their name and stop doing injustice to the people and pizza of brooklyn/new york. never again.
(1)Ed M.
(4)Patrick E.
(2)Derek E.
Not from MB, but was in the nieghborhood and dropped into this place. Great service and friendly peeps, would recommend it to anyone in the area, wish they delivered to my hood...
(5)Joe B.
get the 24-inch. great sauce, perfect crust, enormous slices.
(5)Mayo M.
my wife is an advit pizza lover and she knows her pies! been here 2 times and the pizza has been delicious, the service is up to par with the pay, we dont come here to fall in love with the guys so theyre cool. they treat our 14 month cool and the place is clean. i dont understand the bad reviews.
(5)Devin M.
Best sandwiches in the south bay!!! Always friendly! Good people! Good fresh food!
(5)Vince B.
(5)Amber K.
Great pizza! The best dough and crust that I have had on the west coast. I am from the east coast and thought nobody out here could get it right until I had a slice at this place today! Good Job!! and the guy behind the counter was super nice and friendly too.
(5)Julie D.
(1)Ari P.
(4)cute M.
We bought into the "brickoven" and were sorely disappointed. The pizza arrived warm and not very good. We literally heated most of it back up in the oven, which did not help. Go to Beach Pizza if you want pizza in MB, otherwise you're on your own.
(2)r m.
(1)Todd I.
