I have to say the food is delicious and not too expensive! But the customer service was dissatisfactory. The owner I believe is the one that always handles the customers and I must say its unpleasant speaking to her. She never takes the time to listen to the customers properly. She is always in a hurry and bit rude. I wish they would put someone else for that department.

Only been here once, but the food was really good. I've been searching for "east coast" style Chinese food for a while. I think I found it. Only three stars because I'm trying not to just lavish praise on them for one successful visit. But no complaints. We showed up right before closing, and I took FOREVER to make up my mind. The older guy who most likely owns the place hovered around me and answered all the questions I was mumbling to myself. We ordered shrimp fried rice (jumbo shrimp), fried meat dumplings, and chicken with vegetables. I forgot to ask for no MSG, but it didn't taste like there was any MSG anywhere. The food was flavored just right. The vegetables were AMAZING. Zucchini that actually TASTED like zucchini. Everything was great. Solid takeout. And even after I took forever to order, the food came out FRIGHTENINGLY fast. Under ten minutes. More like seven minutes. Which boggles my mind, given all the reviews about how slow the delivery is. Food was still hot when we got it home, and delicious to boot. I'll definitely be back.

Looking for quick chinese food in my hood. You would not believe how hard it is to find a place that actually has chicken corn soup and seriously that is the best hangover cure. Finally found VIP. The food was pretty good. Prices were a little steep for my comfort. My real beef was the lady taking my order could not speak english and actually hung up on me. I had to call back and she didn't have a clue. Their soup is pretty good and because of that I'll probably go back. I would go for takeout only though. This place is super small and a little scary looking!

Worst jjanjangmyun I've ever had in my life. I came here for lunch with my coworkers and somehow they messed up my noodles reeeeeeally bad - it was either undercooked or they precooked days in advance. Super stale & very hard to chew to a point where I could not eat more than two bites of it... and this is coming from a girl who never leaves food on her plate! My other two coworkers tried some of my food to confirm how bad it was - they both sad mine was far worse than theirs.. definitely not edible. So then we called over the waitress to send back our food. Oh and wait, here's the best part - she nods, takes the food back into the kitchen, and never comes back out! No apologies, common courtesy to offer remaking the dish... Nothing. I would give you zero stars if I could. -Horrible interiors w/ ripped chairs and sticky tables, dirty dirty cups! -Absolutely no effort in customer service, lots of communication problems -Nastyass food that I wouldn't eat even if someone paid me to

This is our neighborhood Chinese food spot in Koreatown. I was super excited when we were able to find a Chinese place amunst all these Korean BBQs. Anyhow, we have been here a few times and both times we were pleasantly surprised. The first time, we dined at the restraunt. the place is small. So small one of the ladies was actually peeling beens right there in the customer seating area. Food came fast, super hot and delicious. The waitress was uber friendly! Second time was last night. We ordered for take out. The wait time was short and the owner hung out outside with my boyfriend playing with our dog. When we got home, the food was still really hot and wonderful. We love this place!

I'm happy to have a chinese restaurant in walking distance from my house like VIP Chinese. Their dinner special is pretty good for around $8-9, and you get an entree, rice (their fried rice is really good!), soup, egg rolls and fried won tons. I always stick to the sweet and sour pork. I've tried orange chicken and it was just meh. The sweet and sour pork, however, is some of the best I've had. I haven't been too adventurous with their menu. I really just stick to the pork. I was happy to see their health-rating has gone up to an A from a B.

Great for pick up. I admit, its on the ghetto side of chinese food. But great taste for a great price. They dont even bother to smile. Get your delicious food and go!

My dad has been coming here for as long as I could remember. The food I've had has always been satisfying and the dinner combo is such a good deal! Your choice of meat, fried or steamed rice, an eggroll, and soup for under $9. I usually get the mui shu (spelling?) or orange chicken and it always comes out crispy, which I like. It's definitely a little hole in the wall and the liquor store next door always has bums around it whenever I come for dinner. Bottom line: I've always liked this place and I'll keep coming back.

I got a tip to come here for the Jjajangmyun --- actually, I was told to go to a place 2 doors down... but the kindly told me they didn't service Jjajangmyun... so they sent me here to VIP Chinese. Since it was my first time eating Jjajangmyun I don't have much to compare it to, but it was pretty good. The noodles were thick, and the sauce was pretty tasty. There wasn't much pork in it -- just little pieces -- not sure if there should be more or not. All the sauce seemed to gather at the bottom of the bowl, too. Not sure if that's how it should be. But I can't complain because all in it cost about $5 -- and for $5 bucks, I was pretty please. The waitress was super friendly and very helpful, especially when I had a lot of questions about the menu. But --- the place itself could use a little spruce up. It's basically a little hole in the wall with a few tables and creaky chairs. It doesn't look that clean, but I'm sure it's fine. But if you dropped some food on the floor, the 5 second rule would NOT apply here.

A sort of Korean Chinese food place. The fried Wontons aren't filled, just fried wonton squares. Kung pao chicken smelled of feet at first when I got the delivery. Moments later, the smell dissipated. The chicken was white meat, which was a nice surprise. but it was boiled i think--a little to mushy even though they were cubes. The chicken was way too over sauced. For the maybe 1.5-2 cups of chopped chicken, there was about 1-1.5 cups of sauce that the chicken was swimming in. It came with fried rice, which was a thicker grain and also seems too wet. It also came with kimchi, of which i am not a fan.. This place is close to where i live, so i may order again (maybe just orange chicken or something simple), but I won't order that Kung Pao chicken again.

Don't order from here if you are starving. I ordered delivery from them through eat24hours. An hour passed still no food from them.. I checked and checked again to see what time I placed the order... After 1 hour and 5 minutes, I called them. I asked them where my food was. They said- it's on its way. Exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes after my order was placed, I got the food. And this was a Tuesday AFTERNOON people (after lunch rush but before dinner). I am pretty sure they made the food AFTER I called them. So i don't know if they are just not good with orders they receive through eat24hours or what but because they kept me waiting and waiting on an empty stomach, I give them 2 stars.

A little whole in the wall, chef was really nice and my 1st time. I got the kung pao chicken with fried rice dinner, yummy, so not disappointed. Wonton Soup was delish and so was the hot and sour soup. Definitely going back.

So bummed. I ordered Almond Chicken and there was not 1 almond in there...but several bones. Also got the "creamy black bean noodle with pork" and the sauce came in a prepackaged hot plastic pouch...it was not creamy and i ate literally ONE tiny piece of pork in there. It was my first time trying this place- I was lazy/tired and needed food delivered to me. Im really bummed that it was so NOT good at all. Im gonna give it one more try and get Orange Chicken and Fried Rice and see if they at least have the basics down. SIGHS.

I do enjoy Chinese food cooked Korean-style, especially since I'm pretty fond of Little China in Gardena :) Whenever I'm in K-Town visiting the BF, we go here for the dinner specials. Your choice of protein (beef, chicken, shrimp, or pork) with a wonton (literally), wonton soup, an eggroll, and your choice of rice (fried or steamed) for less than $9. Try getting that kind of deal anywhere else in K-Town (there's NO AYCE KBBQ places that are under $10 there, well, at least decent ones). Too bad they don't give me fresh white onion slices with black bean dipping sauce...that stuff' awesome! Bonus: Last night, we ordered food on the phone for pick-up, but realizing how insanely cold it was outside, we decided to eat the take-out right in the restaurant. One of the waitresses was nice enough to offer us water and silverware to eat, even though I already paid for the take-out (with tip). Not a single dirty look :P

Don't order delivery, their drivers won't find your house. After an attempt to deliver it to our neighbors, the driver left and our cold food arrived an hour and a half after we ordered it.

Do they have online ordering? Check. Do they deliver? Check. Is the food kick-ass? Check. VIP was a recommendation from a friend of ours...and what a friggin GEM! We ordered the Fried Shrimp With Hot Sauce (which wasn't too spicy). It came with LARGE (no bay shrimp here!!) shrimp lightly battered and deep friend swimming in a beautiful sauce. We also ordered the Pork Fired Rice (nothing out-of-the-box, but very good) and the Mongolian Beef (this was the only dish that didn't wow us). Our food was delivered within 45 minutes and although the packaging wasn't made from recycled products, there wasn't too much of it. If you live in K town (or near it) and craving Chinese, this IS the place!

This place... Korean Chinese food I would say, cause they gave me Kimchi when my to go order. I ordered there a couple times, cause they are just around the corner, and they are pretty much the only restaurant that does delivery. The food are..I had something better, a lot better. And the funny thing is, I ordered thru Eat24Hours online, cause I can see the menu They would call back and say don't order online next time, just call in, and I was like ok?

  • Sam Y.

They make that Chinese/Korean border food here. They are not particularly good but there is one dish I love here. Which is the JJam Jja Jang. Half jja jang myun. Half jjam ppong. It's like me. Half Man. Half Sam. What this is is, it's half black bean curd noodles. Half spicy seafood noodles. Partitioned in the middle. And very inexpensive. It's great on those days when you can't decide, jja jang myun or jjam ppong. Why not get both! I dare you! It is separate but equal! No I half dare you and half double dog dare you!

  • John M.

Jja jang myun. If you want it they got it.

I should've checked yelp before I ordered. I must start out by saying that I didn't (or couldn't) taste the food, but the experience leading up to it has motivated me enough to write a review (to warn others like me). We ordered jjajang-myun, ggampoong sewoo, and pork fried rice, waited 50 mins for our delivery before making a second call. They tried to make excuses but said they were on their way... so I waited. Then they called and said the door was "closed." I had no idea what he was saying so I went outside to look for the guy. No one. We had to call back a few more times before the guy came to our door (75 mins had passed). This is the worst part. It was obvious our jjajang had exploded inside the plastic bag and had covered everything else. The delivery guy still tried to hand it over, but of course we refused (nicely). Called the lady at the restaurant again - explained the situation and asked her to cancel our order. No apology... she told me to just eat everything other than the jjajang. You have to be kidding, really? Korean Chinese is what it is. Hard to get terribly wrong and hard to be amazing. So no need to go to a place that will make you work this hard for food you're actually paying for.

  • Johnson M.

Heck.... if it's good enough for the Korean Pop Sensation, Michael K., it's good enough for me! Their fried rice was very good and made "Hong Kong Style", which I prefer. Every dish was full of flavor and tasted very good. Kung Pao chicken is very good, and like stated, is different than Kung Pao you will find elsewhere. Also worth noting is their Sizzling Rice Soup, some of the best I've ever tasted! The place is in a small strip mall in Korea Town, easy to miss, but you will be happy when you find it!

I had ordered delivery from VIP before and it wasn't the worst Chinese I'd ever had. I remembered the delivery taking a little too long, particularly since they're so close to where I live, but it wasn't too bad. So last night... We make our order online through eat24hours.com (which I've had good luck with in the past). I realized after having made the order that I had forgotten to write that our buzzer wasn't working, so I gave them a call, gave them my address and phone number and told them to call my cell phone when they arrived. An hour later, the restaurant called me (I assumed because they were outside) and asked me to give them my credit card number again because they were having a hard time reading the fax from the website. Gave them my credit card number, and they said that they were leaving right then (they're less than a mile away...yes, I was being lazy and getting delivery from someplace so close by, but whatever...). Twenty five minutes later, they still had not arrived. I gave them a call, gave them my address again, and she said she didn't know why it hadn't been delivered yet. So we decided to get food from somewhere else, but went to the Chinese place first to get a refund on my credit card. Walked into the place and clearly stated that our food had not been delivered, we'd called a number of times and that we'd like our money back. The woman starts arguing with me and tells me that the food had been delivered...to a different address...and that she had charged my credit card for $35...when our order had been for $29. She and one of the waitresses start acting all confused and kept saying "How could this have happened? How could this have happened? But, you live on Alexandria! That's where we brought it!" (I DO NOT live on Alexandria). I explained as calmly as I could that I really didn't care how it happened, that she needed to refund my credit card immediately. "Well...I don't know how to do a refund." So my boyfriend had to show her how to use the credit card machine. And believe it or not, this isn't the last I heard from VIP that night. At 9:45 p.m. (on a Sunday night) my phone rings. Guess who? Apparently NOT ONLY did they charge my card for someone else's order, they charged it TWICE. Awesome. So this isn't only a warning for this place (not like the other reviews are fantastic anyway) but also a note to be careful with eat24hours.com , because some restaurants don't have computers and the whole fax thing can get messy.

this review is ONLY for their jjambbong and jjajangmyun (thats all we had) bf wanted to try this place because he noticed the $4.50, $4.99 for jjajang myun and jjambbong in the window. now there are plentyyyy of places in ktown that serve jjambbong and jjajangmyun for that much, esp during lunch...and weve tried other places, so yesterday, we decided to give this place a shot. the restuarant itself is pretty dingy...not much of decor, or atmosphere. actually its a pretty ugly place. we sat down, and bf ordered jjambbong, and i ordered jjajangmyun. the jjambbong came out first, and just by looking at it, you could tell the broth was gonna be good. it was RED and had a pungent aroma with 2 large whole shrimp. i took a sip of his soup and fell in love! the broth was so flavorful, full of seafoody spicy goodness. then came my jjajangmyun. the blackbean sauce was pretty good, nice and chunky. however, the noodles were all clumpy and hard for me to mix and eat at first. bf and i took turns, passing the bowls back and forth. we both decided that the jjambbong was very much worth the extra 50 cents over the jjajangmyun. the jjajangmyun would have been much better had the noodles been a bit more easier to deal with. but when im craving jjambbong, i will keep this place in mind :)

  • Heejin L.

3.5 stars. the jjam jja myun is pretty decent. (jjam jja myun = half jja jang myun + half jjam bbong aka half noodle w black bean sauce + half noodle in spicy broth ) the jambbong broth is thick and oily. the jja jang myun is pretty decent. i wish the noodles were more chewy. but i do like that you can have both at the same time.

Ate here for years when I worked in the neighborhood but now I can only get there every so often. I love the Mongolian beef and Kung pao chicken. There was a time when their rating had dropped to a C years ago but I have not seen that happen since. The parking in the lot can be hit or miss. It's a small lot that is shared with a few other businesses.

Ugh I'm addicted to their sweet sour pork...not the tang Soo yook but the Heavy ketchup laden red version. I have no idea why.

I just came from here. First of all the service was bad. I told the waitress water no ice, and a refill on the tea. It took her a good 10 minutes to get the tea and she brought water with ice. Then she completely forgot our water. I would not mind if it was full but there was only one customer there with us. So then our food arrives and usually the portions are larger but they seemed smaller. Not to mention the wonton that was supposed to be included was lost somewhere. I hope they can make the service better because the food is pretty good.

This food has changed because of it's chef. About ten years ago I couldn't get over how amazing the Chinese food is! The location is hectic because it's difficult to find a parking spot when it is minimized! The waitress are nice they know what's the best and they know there menu! Some don't speak english well but it works. I've moved miles away and my family has not stoped going there! There foods have excelent cuisine taste. There's good amount of food for a good pay. My favorite are there soups 130 soup is how I orde it, try the soup and nothing will stop you from going back! Let's hope you don't need to use the restroom, you go right by the gentlemen cooking the food with a wet floor. My opinion go eat some great Chinese food!

A Koreanized-Chinese restaurant staffed by one Korean waitress, one Chinese waitress, and Mexican cooks.....only in LA. This is a Chinese restaurant but it offers the Koreanized Chinese staples such as jja jjang myun (black bean noodles), jjam bbong (spicy noodles) and tang soo-yook (sweet and sour pork). I only tried the last one and it was OK, nothing too great. It was a lot of food for cheap, but you should probably go elsewhere for your Koreanized Chinese food fix.

  • Kitty K.

I ordered food from this place and I have to say it was the WORST chinese I've ever had. Flavorless fried rice, mushy noodles, and terrible chicken. It even made me sick, Panda Express is better!

  • Mauricio A.

3.5 stars. Ok so I came here randomly with my friend and I must say I was pretty satisfied with the food. I order the individual dinner meal with kung pao chicken and got a TON of food for about 10 dollars. The soup was pretty good and the chicken was excellent. The fried rice was solid and overall the meal itself was filling and cheap. I obviously wouldn't say this is gourmet chinese but for a little hole in the wall I randomly found it was definitely worth it.

YUM! VIP is my staple restaurant in LA. I could eat here everyday (and pretty much do.) When I can't get to the restaurant for a bite, my girlfriend (who works closeby) is nice enough to pick me up take out and bring it home to me. They've also recently redecorated, which makes for a more pleasurable experience inside this cozy spot. Prices are very reasonable, food is delicious and staff is very friendly. Some of my favorite dishes: Sweet and Sour Chicken, Mongolian Beef Szechuan Shrimp Shredded Cabbage Chicken Fried Rice with Sriracha hot sauce

This is a local Chinese place near my office. I get the same thing every time I order, which is the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special. It's hot and tasty. I ordered a full dinner from here once and everyone in my family was happy. Nice people, friendly and relaxed place. I wouldn't expect anything dazzling, but a solid Chinese restaurant for sure.

My Dad has been going to this place for 15+ years and he swears by their spicy seafood soup (chow ma mein). Apparently some celebrities like Stevie Wonder have been to VIP and left their stamp of approval. We love the kung pao chicken and the delicious mongolian beef. Careful with the kung pao though because it can be rather spicy. The ingredients are fresh and service is quick. The only thing about this place is that it's in a rather small shopping center on the southeast corner of Western and 7th Street in Koreatown so you might have to park on the side street. I would have given 5 stars except that sometimes the customer service can be a bit impersonal. But overall, a good choice for tasty and affordable Chinese.

I ordered flavored meatballs and thought the food was ok until I found a piece of shrimp tail in my meatball. The worst part was I can totally see that someone took a good bite on it(no it wasn't me). It was absolutely disgusting and I'll never go back to this place again.

This is really the place to go for amazing Chinese food. Ive been here a zillion times and never disappoints. The decor isnt the best, but if you want good food that is inexpensive, this is the place to go. Its a mom and pops type of place and the owners are always there. Its tiny and the kitchen is even tinier, but great things come out of that kitchen. Their portions are amazing and service is quick. I read in the other reviews that Stevie Wonder eats there, this is true. His office is two doors down from Vip. His son Mumtaz eats there too, he was getting some take out when I was there. I didnt know it was him until the owner told me. Very nice guy I have to say, I made him sing "Ribbon in the Sky". That was a great day being a huge Stevie Wonder fan. Back to the review. One of my favorite soups there is the Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup or Chow Ma Mien (in chinese). The spicy soup is AMAZING. The noodles are made fresh daily and everything is made to order. Its making my mouth water just thinking about it. The WonTon Soup is also amazing, if your not in the mood for something spicy. Try the wonton soup. The soup isnt just broth. It has tons of vegetables, and chicken and wontons with pork in the middle. When I'm sick I make my boyfriend pick some up for me. If you go there you also have to try the Friend Shrimp with Hot Sauce. It's absolutely amazing. Its deep-fried battered Shrimp (good sized shrimp) and its topped with this sweet yet pungent sauce that has diced carrots and peas. Never disappoints! If your in the mood for chicken, the Orange Chicken is very good and the portion is HUGE. They use dried orange peels in the sauce, really makes the dish taste great. Mongolian Beef is amazing there, the green onions balance the sweet sauce, and the beef is cooked to perfection. Any of those dishes paired with their Chicken or Egg fried rice is heavenly. Go and try this place, it'll be worth your time.

Though not the cleanest of places, this little restaurant reminded me of a typical small restaurant in China (which I visited not too long ago). Nothing fancy but the food was pretty good, though very salty. I took the chicken broccoli which was not swimming in sauce like most places- also they did not skimp out on chicken or broccoli. It also came with an ok eggroll which was part of the lunch menu (no soup because I took takeout). I also took fried rice which was tasty and had chunks of chicken as well- again they didn't cheap out on the chicken. Everything was pretty ok quality and the service was relatively fast. Ill be coming again for any chinese cravings as its really close to home.

The food here is okay. It's good for a quick bite. I mainly gave it 4 stars because of the service. They welcome you and make you feel at home. Such a friendly place.

This place is grim. Not a very warm or welcoming environment inside. If you're in need of a quick bite, I suppose you could do worse (a scuzzy McDonalds is right across the street) but you could also do a lot better. I ordered chicken chow mein on my first visit. I usually test new Chinese restaurants with an order of sweet and sour chicken, but something about the fact they didn't have a health grade posted in the store front made me weary of the meat. Anyways, I walked in, ordered to go and was on my way in about 10-12 minutes. When I got back to the office, I noticed there was some liquid in the bag. Some sauce had spilled. I discovered it must have been from the noodle dish itself. There was just too much soy-ish sauce in it. A bit too salty and runny. The chicken wasn't too fatty as I feared, but it didn't taste of the best quality either. Pretty disappointing overall. I'd probably only return if I had a life-threatening craving for chinese food, or if I was super drunk and didn't care what I was putting into my body.

I ended up in this spot after multiple (failed) attempts at finding a decent spicy noodle soup. So my entourage and I come in are seated quickly, given menus, and water. Quick note: the menu is pretty extensive and has no pictures. Which is a major disappointment. We ordered the fried wontons, pan fried dumplings, shrimp fried rice, and (of course) spicy noodle soup. It didn't take long for our food to get to our table and my god the servings were plentiful. We were three people, we shared everything, and we still had enough left over of each item to take home. Food is pretty decent absolutely not for those health conscious, but who cares right it's Friday, haha.

We wasted 46 bucks here. Everything we had was tasteless I found ONE shrimp in the shrimp fried rice. It is a shame to be so cheap with the seafood AND seasoning. Never again.

Worst place I've ever been to. I don't recommend anyone to eat here. The food is nasty but yet experience. The Thai ice tea was horrible, it was like drinking sugar water. Got my food 5 minutes after I finished ordering so I'm assuming they reheated to top it off I didn't get any utensils. Worst costumer service ever.

  • Jasmyn T.

I've never dined in their restaurant and have always did pick up since I live a block away. Their phone etiquette is very blunt so it was off-putting initially, but the food makes up for it. I'm a simple person, and once I try something, I stick with it. I usually get the sweet and sour shrimp or chicken dinners. When I first tried them out, I got the orange peel chicken; definitely wasn't a fan. Another reviewer said it's a hit or miss and that's true: sometimes the fried rice and come out amazing, sometimes it's ridiculously salty. The meat portions are always great though.

Found a bug in my food won't go back... should of trusted my first mind and not went here.. but the special brought me here of course smh. Basically all my food was left and I just asked for the bill.. the lady looked at me in disgust and said that's all you're going to eat and gave me a you make me sick typed look and walked away. They don't have good customer service either. Had to drink my drink straight out the can ( guess i wasnt good enough for a cup), also didnt even include everything the special came with, and No fortune cookie.

The environment here is not too friendly, as in it is not the most cleanest looking place. More like a hole in the wall restaurant? But their food makes up for it. I've had their spicy seafood noodles (jjamppong) since years ago and recipe never seemed to change. Best place to get jjamppong in koreatown.

Make sure to have them count your money in front of you. They lied and said I gave them less and then charged me more. They also said it would take 10 min for pick up and it took 30 min.

It took TWO HOURS for my food to arrive. When I told them I was upset, they didn't care. Not even a sorry. She actually chuckled at me.

This place sucks! Seriously the food was greasy, tasteless and low quality. Orange chicken was 80% soggy breading 10% chicken fat and 10% meat. They chow mein was bland and colorless and the kung pao chicken was more like kung pao soup. it was a complete mess. Dont bother ordering from this place. There are 100 better places to have lunch in a 1 block radius.

I love this place! My family and I have been ordering from here for years! Owners are super nice! Portions are great too. Prices aren't that bad either!

Came here with my co-worker for some Chinese. Typical grimy Chinese takeout place. Not the cleanest joint, but then again, it's Los Angeles, so you can't really expect much. I got the lunch special, which is decently filling for $7. They have different choices like cashew chicken, sweet and sour chicken, kung pao chicken, for under $10. It comes with rice as well. It also said it came with soup and wontons, but apparently it doesn't, so It's whatever. My co-worker got the jjamppong, and he said it tasted terribly and that it tasted really watered down. As for the chicken, the stuff was literally red. I had to hock a loogie after eating, and my spit was red. I think you're better off at a Panda Express. It's cleaner, tastes better, and you don't have to tip. Probably won't come back. First two star review ever, so you know how I felt about this place.

On time delivery and nice driver, however, that being said, this was the blandest incarnation of chinese food I've ever had. If you're starving, go ahead, but with so many other tasty options in the area, your money is better spent elsewhere.

Came here and had a terrible experience..service and especially the food was subpar. I told a friend about this experience and she told me the "imitation shark fin soup" is actually real shark fin soup. And she told me the cruel way they fish for it. Who would serve something like that? That is partly the reason I gave one star, the food is the other reason!

Waited and hour and twenty minutes for our order and then it was wrong, but we did get the Mongolian Beef. It tasted fresh and it was cooked to perfection. I would come back for the beef but wouldn't risk delivery again...

I love their jjajangmyun (black bean paste noodle) and , jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle) you can choose to have it really spicy or not. Super yum, they hand made noodle everyday to order! It is a small little restaurant, but it super yum !

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a very friendly woman. I ordered chicken fried rice to go. As I waited, the very kind lady who took my order conversed with me. My order was ready fast. I got home and the chicken in my chicken fried rice was like rubber. I just could not get into it. I'm not going to give up on this place completely. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish or something. They were so friendly that I'm willing to return to try other dishes.

i asked for change for a $100 bill the first time i ordered delivery and they forgot it. 2nd time i ordered fried rice and garlic chicken. the garlic chicken didn't come with a side of rice so i called them and asked them to bring me rice. they said they don't give rice if you order fried rice. The fried rice was for someone else, assholes. Love, Mike

I would definitely recommend this place if you want to grab some quick Chinese take out without having to go to those crappy Chinese buffet style places. Food was steaming hot, and the rice had a delicious "smoke" kind of flavor. On the other hand I orders orange chicken which I got thru about 3 pieces before I had to set the fork down. It was too syrupy and sweet. Was expecting something a little more crispier and orange flavored. Overall I would go here again but order something different perhaps some beef or soup...

Love this place!!! True Chinese food with no msg!! That is hard to find. I was not at all intending on coming here but am solo glad I did. Get the egg drop soup OE the meal. Either way you cannot go wrong. They are so accommodating and did not make me feel like "a white guy in an Asian restaurant" if you know what I mean. Lol

I've ordered delivery from VIP Chinese Restaurant at least 6 times already. They are pretty consistent with their delivery time (1hr or sometimes less), and I love how the portion is pretty big... so If I order about $25-$30 worth of food from them on a Monday night... It lasts me until Friday night! LOL! I know it's kinda gross to be eating takeout Chinese food everyday, but I am really trying to save money for something big right now... and this sacrifice is going just fine :D

Disgusting food, B rating, horrible service. Ordered delivery and they delivered the wrong food, then tried to convince me to take (and pay) for their "more expensive item." After refusing, and telling them to take the whole delivery back, they assured me that they would simply take the item they didn't deliver off my bill, HOWEVER, as soon as the owner or cook or whoever delivered my food got back to the restaurant she refused to authorize my refund for the item I NEVER GOT! Oh and the egg rolls were saturated in old grease. I took one bite and dumped all 4 in the trash. I despise dishonest business owners and on top of it all, the food is low quality and not edible. Shame on you!!!!

I had my doubts walking into this place but I was pleasantly surprised. The service was good and the food was even better. The best part is that there's a liquor store right next door so if you want to go get a few beers and enjoy them with your Chinese dinner you can. Be careful when ordering- the portions are BIG!!

My boyfriend suggested this place since he used to go there with his uncle when he was younger. Since it was my first time there, I ordered three items: the cashew chicken, sweet and sour pork, and shrimp fried rice. All three dishes were good. And I would definitely order the shrimp fried rice again! The only thing that keeps me from going back there is the mess that I saw the one time I went there... napkins, utensils, plates, bags, cups, etc. all piled up on top of each other, toppling... almost falling off the dining table by the wall. Huge mess! If they can put that away and make the place look neat and tidy, I'd probably hit it up more often.

I work in the Mid-Wilshire area so this restaurant is convenient and accessible so that I can enjoy delicious food at a more than reasonable price, and with extremely generous portions, on my lunch break; plus the staff/owners are so kind and genuinely engage you while not being clingy. The only reason I'm giving this establishment 4 stars is the soup that comes with their lunch special. It's luke-warm and I don't particularly care for their Egg Flower Soup recipe.

HORRIBLE! I ordered soup and egg rolls. Not only did my order take almost 2 hours for be delivered but it was just bad. Who ever made the egg rolls was incredibly lazy. They weren't even rolls. The soup had peas in it and carrots as well. WHY PUT PEAS AND CARROTS IN HOT AND SOUR SOUP! SO HORRIBLE! Also, the driver was rude and asked for a cash tip after having me wait again, for almost 2 hours! Do not eat here.

This is my go-to Chinese place. I live in K-town and there is no delivery fee. It is So cheap. $10 flat for soup + meat + rice + eggroll + delivery. Get the dinner/lunch special. Can't beat that ANYWHERE. The lady is very pushy on the phone, but she is a sweetheart. It's a family owned spot so I can imagine they are understaffed. The food is nowhere near the BEST Chinese I've ever had. But it's good enough.

Never in my life have I been so horribly treated. Number one the rude lady I was on the phone with hung up on me 4 times and she had the nerve to get an attitude and also I could've sworn I heard her talking about me to someone in the background before she hung up. Worst customer service skills. And on top of that the orange chicken I ordered was uncooked and the rice tasted disgusting as if someone stepped on it. Bad service. I don't recommend anyone go here unless you want to be treated with no respect and eat food that tastes like someone stuck their dirty sock in it. I'm never eating here again. When you see this place RUN!

The food is fresh, the service is fast, and it is all business. I particularly like the mu shu and the noodles with black bean sauce. They also get a thumbs up for their eggrolls. My only complaint is the hot and sour soup.

Decided to try this place out when passing by after grabbing some Pho at the place next door. Popped in here for dinner tonight with my guys and were seated promptly. We were there for the noodles with black bean sauce for $4.99. I was concerned it wasn't going to be enough food because I'm used to bigger portions. I finished everything and was content, not sickly overstuffed. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce consistency was a little soupy/oily compared to other places but the flavor was great! It was actually quite tasty. Yu Ga Ne is still my favorite place for this dish (for food portion and price) but VIP Chinese Restaurant is closer to home... Had no issues with service. I hear delivery can be a nightmare from here. Probably will return when I'm feeling like Korean style Chinese food for cheap since I live so close by.

This restaurant I would give it three stars. This restaurant is owned by Korean Chinese who were born in Korea. Jiajang Myun was very very delicious. It tasted like the jiajang myun I used to have back in Korea. Staffs were friendly but in interior was just very humble. I would come back some other time whenever I do feel like to have jiajang myun or Champong soup.

    1. They are right next to Pho 21. 2. They had posters up: jjajangmyun (black bean paste noodle) for $4.50, jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle) for $4.99, and tang sooyook (sweet and sour pork) for $8.99. 3. Their lunch special menu was pretty big and all under $7. We walked in and got a table.. then I started looking around.. 'B' right next to the entrance.. boxes everywhere.. pretty messy. anyway.. we ordered kung pao shrimp and jjambbong. let's start with the kung pao shrimp.. shrimp.. come on.. its really hard to mess up shrimp.. the veggies (bell pepper, mushrooms, onion, celery, bamboo shoots) were all undercooked... I mean I like my veggies to have some bite in em but these had too much bite! The jasmine rice that came with it was undercooked too. And since this was on their lunch special menu, it came with a soup (made with left over veggies and tofu) that wasn't even hot! jjambbong: everything was good except.. they had too much oil!!! blech. Does anyone else enjoy opening up a fortune cookie just to see what it says? I don't believe in it but it's fun to read them.. and today I got 'Long life is in store for you'!! And I was thinking... 'that's the last thing I want! dammit!' stupid fortunes in fortune cookies... :T but.. they were yummy.. :D

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
