Good food and nice service...(I think they are a family restaurant which i really like it.) I ordered silver noodle salad... Pretty good so far...The thing is I don't like small parking space in this plaza...but it's ok over all...

Whoo hoo! They really turn up the heat when asked too! I love spicy thai food and this place does it well. I got the coconut soup (a little watery, but still good) and the garlic pepper with tofu. Delicious! I will definitely order from here again.

Ordered food online for delivery, and did not notice that my phone ran out of power. Over an hour later I finally thought to check, and saw my error. Long story short: The restaurant had closed, but they agreed to stay open, so that I could go pick up the food. They even threw in a free Thai Iced Tea! A+++ for service. Food also great.

Great for delivery, I order from them at least once a week and never had an issue with anything. It's cheap thai food that's quick and easy. Can't go wrong with the curries, pad see ew, and spicy beef salad. I've never dined in so I can't say much about the atmosphere. However, any restaurant in a tiny strip mall next to a 7-11 isn't exactly a place I would like to spend me meals. Just saying..

This is a fast food place and not a restaurant. Food was not that hot and was little old!!

Heads up for anyone planning to order lunch from this restaurant in the future: delivery took almost two hours today. The restaurant isn't even two miles from my office, so I have no idea what the problem was. I even ordered early (12:15) to give them plenty of time to deliver by 1:30. The food didn't arrive until just before 2:00. It was still hot, at least. This annoying thing aside, this was my first time ordering from this restaurant and I was very impressed with the food. In fact, that was some of the best fried rice I've ever had. I got the house special of half grilled chicken and it was excellent. Nicely marinated and cooked perfectly. That yummy fried rice was one of the sides, along with a salad with house dressing that was just ok. It was a side salad, I didn't expect much. I also tried the dumplings and they were tasty, too--I especially liked the spicy dipping sauce that came with them. It wasn't too sweet, but packed a good heat punch. Nice balance to the dumplings. All in all, the food was great, but the reason I'm not giving them five stars is because I had to wait an eternity for delivery. I understand it's not a huge establishment, but if you're going to offer delivery, you must be reasonably prompt. Especially during lunch. Most working folks only have a short amount of time for their break. The food was good enough to bring me back, but I'll be sure to order crazy early next time.

Some of the most terrible Thai food I've ever had. We wanted something that delivered and so I went off Yelp ratings - 3.5 overall stars I figured I could deal with. Unfortunately Yelp steered me way wrong. I ordered Pad Thai - was undercooked and had overly sweet flavor - noodles completely stuck together in a blob. With a whopping four shrimp. Gee thanks. I'm glad I paid extra for those. Not enough egg either. I wanted to do a stir fry dish, too and I wanted a lot of veggies so I opted for the mixed vegetables with tofu. The description said it came cooked in a sauce. Really? Because that was the most bland thing I've experienced and was mostly filler veggies (90% cabbage and bean sprouts). The whole thing was terrible. The egg rolls were somewhat edible but they could have put some kind of dipping sauce. I want that money and that time back. Disappointed. Delivery was quick, though. So if you're starving and don't care if you eat a bowl of disappointment - Chicken on Fire is your place.

Perfect. Ordered Spicy Beef and King Pao Chicken with a tea, late in the evening--- on time, tasty, large portions, hot, etc. Awesome!

WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE. Terrible service, terrible food, really rude employees. I don't understand how they have more than one star.

This is a review of a large delivery order from Chicken on Fire. It is easy to order from Grubhub.com . I am working on-site in Los Angeles right now. I ordered delivery for the development team. Once again, like with other large delivery orders, I am not going to write a detailed review of each dish. The food was prepared well. Each dish held up well. The meats were tender. The veggies were crisp. I tried a little of everything and, personally, I enjoyed it all. I did particularly enjoy the Thai Spicy Basil with Chicken and the Pad Thai with Shrimp. I also enjoyed the fried shrimp in the appetizer platter. A number of the folks really seemed to dig the sauces they had included on the side. There was some spicy kick along the way. But nothing I thought warranted the restaurant name of Chicken on Fire. tinyurl.com/3mzwdwb tinyurl.com/3tkzlfp tinyurl.com/3fq3drc tinyurl.com/3hztpat Delivery - The order was placed at 7:05 PM. The order was delivered at 8:13 PM, The estimated time of delivery was 8:06 PM. At just slightly beyond the estimated time and just over an hour for delivery, I think, considering the size of the order, this is a very acceptable delivery time. There was no delivery fee. The delivery person was professional and polite. Order Minimum - It is relatively low ($15). Packing - The food was neatly packed into aluminum trays. They were simply covered in foil. This is not ideal for resealing for left-over storage but it did do the trick. The rice was stored in traditional Chinese carry-out cartons. The sauces were stored in easy to reseal plastic containers. Pricing - They have larger multi-person platters listed. This made for a very economical way to feed a larger group. 1 Thai Spicy Basil Tray $ 24.95 1 Appetizer Sampler Tray $ 24.95 6 Steamed Rice $ 12.00 1 Pad Thai Tray $ 29.95 1 Mongolian Beef Tray $ 24.95 Subtotal $116.80 Tax $10.22 Total $127.02 Overall, the food was good. Their menu is great for larger groups. The delivery was relatively fast and the prices were decent. If ordering for a large group, I would definitely try them again. If I lived here, I would visit the restaurant and give it a try.

Listen, the food is fine enough if you are desperate. We live close by and it is a stand in if last minute we don't have another choice. the kids like it, but they have no clue as to the goodness/health of what they eat. more importantly, I went there the other day and there was NO SOAP IN THE BATHROOM! I mean ZERO soap. I asked the folks working there, "please you must have soap somewhere in this place so the employees can wash their hands after using the bathroom and before COOKING THE FOOD!" They looked at me like I was crazy. Seriously, they gave me a couple of little wipes in those packets that you get when you eat ribs?!?!? WTF. Serious health violation. The place is filthy. I am so bothered by their behavior that I am considering calling the health inspector. Bad business. Dirty place.

Ok Tigers! this is not your fancy thai restaurant. But it is the CHEAPEST Thai place around Beverlyhills adj area. I used to go to Thai town since they have the best thai food there but this place really isn't that bad at all! they just use a lot of sauce. If it's your first time there, get the bbq chicken! Service: if you haven't noticed already. Most Asian restaurants have bad service. Suck it up!

This place used to be great. I just went there tonight for spice shrimp fried rice. How about there was 5 shrimp in the rice? I could have ordered plain fried rice if I wanted just rice.

Usually a lunchtime "grab-n-go" because the parking in the center is often full and the traffic in the area is tough! with that being said, the food specials are usually very good. I am a BIG fan of the chicken curry lunch deal which unfortunately has seen portions get smaller as the economy gets tougher!

I have been loving this awesome food since 1999. New ownership came in last year but the service and menu is still incredible. The Chicken Special is still one of the best deals in L.A.! YUM!!

  • Nathan D.

Good if you're in the area and want some basic Thai food. I give it 4 stars because the staff is very friendly and attentive. Your water glass shan't be empty! Pad-see yoo and ginger chili chicken are both rock solid. A bowl of chicken coconut soup is good on a colder day, though pretty pricey for soup ($8-9). Living in Hollywood near Thai Town, it doesn't really compare at all to what I'm used to, but because I work in the area it is convenient.

Today was my first time ordering from this place, but I wasn't impressed. I ordered the chicken special which was ok not spectacular, the salad came with a house dressing that is made with peanuts unbeknownst to me ( I'm allergic ) thank God I called and asked. I will try once more with something else other than the chicken.

Love discovering new Thai spots around West La. Seems to be more of a takeout spot but they do have some tables in a nice clean setting. It's an open kitchen so you get to watch them cook the chicken or other delicious dish you ordered. Ive only had the Pad See Yoo and the Spicy Ginger Chicken and both were nicely cooked, full of flavor, and done in less than 10 minutes. Parking was relatively easy which was a nice plus as well. They have made a new customer!

I have written countless rants about wasting money on new restaurants. This restaurant has broken my losing streak! I have ordered from them 3 times and have been more than pleased each time. My delivery arrives before the expected arrival time. The delivery man (possibly owner or manager) is always very friendly. And the food is incredible! I look forward to lunch each time I am ordering from here. Must try!

Always had enjoyed the food here but as of today I experience the rudest staff ever. Customer service should be any business's number one priority and they fall very short. I used to order on a weekly basis since their reopen but I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

I have been coming here on and off for the last few years. It looks like they are under new ownership because there have been some minor changes such as they don't have fountain drinks anymore and the menu has changed slightly and there are some new faces. With that said, the lunch menu is still pretty much the same. They have different combo items and they still have the Spicy Chicken Basil but I went with the Spicy Beef which was OK. Hopefully it was just this one item because the Chicken Basil is usually pretty good. They also give you two side items for a total of about $7-$8 and the portions aren't bad. If you are looking for a cheap hole in the wall Thai place with descent food, then this is the place to come to.

Came on a Thurs afternoon around 3ish... It was pretty slow, with one other table there and 3 other customers in the time I was there. It seems like a family business. Two of the workers did sit down to eat towards the end of my meal, which was a little weird. The place is pretty decently sized and I see potential, but it's just a little dirty (which I expected it to be). There is only one restroom, but it has the men's restroom sign on it. It also was pretty stuffy, dark, and dirty in there... Here's the things I tried: Eggroll: You get an order of 4. They're not special and are smaller than other eggrolls I've ordered from other places before. They're filled with veggies and vermicelli, but they didn't taste that great. Prob wouldn't order those again. Pad See Yew: This was seasoned well with garlic and peppers and had good flavor. The chicken was surprisingly NOT dry so that was good. House Special Chicken: The chicken was pretty good... It had a nice crispy outside and was flavorful. Basil Stir Fry thing with Chicken (I forgot the name): It was flavorful and full of onion, bell pepper, and chicken, but was very limited on the basil (I thought this was weird since it was a basil stir fry?) The good thing is that this place delivers even though it is closed on Sunday. I think if you're too lazy to leave your home and live in the area it's worth ordering to delivery, but I'm not sure how they would do there...

Decent Thai food and decent prices. The pad thai was surprisingly pretty decent, but the tom yum soup wasn't that great. The tom yum just tastes watered down. I'd probably not come back here unless I was too hungover to walk or drive anywhere. In which case, they deliver.

Stopped by yesterday around 4. Wasn't aweful, wasn't amazing. I had the chicken noodles w/ egg instead and the gg fried rice. The noodles were good, just needed more egg. They were a little greasy. The egg fried rice was just rice w/ egg in it. I would go back in a Thai emergency on my way home.

I checked this place out for both dinner and lunch. The food is good and seasoned well. I met up with 3 colleagues for lunch here. It was about $8 for lunch and that included rice and soup and entree, which I thought was good. I then picked up a coupon for dinner here and joined a friend here a few weeks later. We had and shared a few entrees. The BBQ ribs, yum, but a little on the sweet side. We had the beef with garlic, this was the best. We had egg rolls and something else. I would for sure come back again. The food was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The prices were reasonable.

  • Jen C.

3.5 for food, 5 for service/price Started with the fried dumplings (ground chicken). That was just ok, but the sauce was a tasty spicy, sweet mixture. For entrees, we had: BBQ pork combo (with rice and salad) = very tasty with the charbroiled essence, on the fatty side, pass on the salad combo (dressing was not good..) Spicy Thai Basil with chicken = delicious and moderately spicy sauce. Pad Thai = not my favorite, a bit too sweet. Would have liked it more spicy and sour. Good portions, cheaply priced, staff was friendly and attentive, and I think a better alternative to Natalee Thai nearby.

Great place for a meal on a Monday or Tuesday night. The atmosphere isn't much to speak of but the people that work there are extremely friendly and nice and the food is very good with extraordinarily reasonable prices to boot. I love the mixed vegetables and chicken; but you can't really go wrong with anything. You can enjoy two entrees and rice for under twenty dollars. Not a place I'd take a first date to, but perfect if you want quality food in a hurry.

  • Pepa L.

Solid Thai food at a decent price point in the mid-city part of town. Quick, no frills atmosphere, great for takeout and catering. Obviously does not have the variety of Thai town, but is the closest you'll get without having to deal with/drive to Hollywood. I've also had no issues with finding a parking spot in their lot. There should be no reason to pay over $8 for Pad Thai, any noodle, curry, or stir fry dishes for that matter.

Ordered to go and it was great! The food was ready in less than 10 mintues from when I called. Painless experience. From now on, will only order to go.

2.5 stars. I had high hopes for this place. Was it in the name or the location, tucked away in a strip mall off of Olympic? I was hoping to find a local gem, but instead found mediocre food in the prig king (too salty and not enough "Thai flavors"...more like lots of oyster sauce) and an average Thai seafood soup...although there was lots of it. Although the guys who run this place see cool I don't think I'll come back here, but may be I should've just stuck to the grilled chicken because of the restaurant name. I saw a precooked half chicken on the grill...so may be on second thoughts...nah.

I Have been there last year 10-12 times when i was in the city for some official work.I Went to many restaurant but this one is my favorite. The food is really delicious makes me feels like Home.Other than Food,The location, Cleanliness are amazing also. And the one best thing i like about this restaurant is the service,The staff is always there for help before u needed it.Waiting for my next trip now so that i can visit to the restaurant because its food really makes me crazy.

They just opened again on Monday with a wide Thai menu and perfect portions for lunch. I had the Pad Thai with soup for lunch.

  • Randy S.

Good food, but service has gone downhill. We used to be regular customers (and I've told so many people good things about the place), but when you repeatedly get bad service, enough is enough. They got upset over us asking for ONE sweet 'n sour sauce to go with the entree and Thai tea we purchased - now they are charging for condiments ($0.75 for 1oz of sauce = WTF) and weren't nice about it! Seriously, just save yourself a trip and head to Natalie Thai right around the corner on Robertson (it's much better food anyway and they are never rude).

I only ate here one time...but that was more than enough. they say first impressions are everlasting. Then my impression of this place...was terrible. I was rather hungry, and also, I confused this resturant for another one down the street that WAS recommended called Wok on Fire. Anyway, I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. Honestly, this is like the most standard dish of all chinese/thai resturant. So what did I think? Taste: Terrible. How do you mess up sweet and sour chicken? The chicken was disgustingly soggy. Normally, they would fry the chicken or something first. this felt like the magic of a microwave. the sweet and sour sauce was very weak. I mean like, it felt like after they microwaved the chicken...then they poured on the sauce like you would ketchup over french fries. The chicken did not absorb the sweet and sour sauce at all, and to top it off, the sauce seemed diluted. To top it off, there was barely any chicken, surrounded in a sea of onion, carrots and...celery? This blend of veggies did not go well with each other, or at least failed to create a proper substitute for the chicken. I was still hungry...and this was a dish for 1...it was an embarrassing dish to say the least. Quantity: Lacking in substance. Lots of onions and filler type stuff. Price: I'd pay to not eat here again. Overall: Terrible, stay away. Theres a nice chinese place a block away called Wok On Fire...similar name...but MUCH better food. Natalie Thai is also near by, or Miru is another awesome choice.

Just picked up some lunch; very decent Thai food for $7. I've had their Pad Thai and Pad See Yoo before, and I remember one being a bit greasy but the other was perfect. Pros: flavorful food, super cheap (especially for the area), good portions, nice staff (I'm assuming it's family owned), clean place (someone is always wiping down the chairs, tables, counter...) Cons: parking is tough, the restaurant is deserted inside, never more than 2 tables taken, but their phone line can be busy with all the take-out orders and you might still have to walk/drive there to order, wait 15 mins and be on your way... Still worth it! Overall a great value, so if you live/work in the neighborhood or driving through, stop by for some great cheap Thai food.

  • Dorien D.

This place is just fine. The Pad see ew was different and spicy. The rotiserie chicken was flavored well but a bit dry. The veggies that we ordered were a little plain. I think it could have been better but it was priced well and I think we got what we paid for.

On the corner of La Cienega and Olympic is Chicken on Fire. It's a Chinese and/or Thai fast food/comfort food restaurant. With dishes ranging from 5 to 10 dollars, it's a good place for a quick lunch. It shares a parking lot with two other restaurants a 7-11 and a dry cleaning place...so parking can be a little of a hassle, but street parking is available. So they have the Pad Thai which is acceptable but not very exceptional. There is also the Orange Chicken which can get very dry at times and the same can be said for the chicken skewers. Now where this place shines is with the Chicken Lunch Special. So for about $7.00 you get 3 big juicy pieces of chicken with fried rice and a salad. Breast, wing and leg is what you get. And for some reason this dish is far superior than anything else on the menu. They cook it quick and it's a full meal that I hardly finish. But it's good. The place looks like a refurbished El Pollo Loco. Few seats in there but you can take out also. Huge grill, food smells good and it's good Asian food if you really want it.

I really like the Pineapple fried rice. This is a very casual place. The staff is friendly and the price is very affordable. The Thai Basil chicken is very good too.

I'd been going to this hole in the wall for Thai take-out for years, mostly because it's cheap, close-by, and genuinely not bad. The last few times it hadn't been up to snuff and I had basically written it off... but I gave it another shot and was thoroughly delighted with my chicken pad thai the other night. Turns out it's under new ownership, the prices are still very reasonable, and what can I say, it was the best $6.50 chicken pad thai I've had in a long time.

For some reason, I always thought this place was called "Thai Chicken on Fire." Anyway, the name caught my eye, and I decided to try this corner strip mall place many moons ago. Everything else on the menu is ookay, but what really stands out is literally, the chicken on fire. They cook the chicken over the fire on a grill, and it's deeelish. The meat stays nice and juicy, and is just downright tasty. I especially love it because they deliver! I live right down the street, and when I'm ever too lazy to cook (and drive), TCOF is my first phone call. The bf and I always order the whole chicken and pad see ew. Maybe it's just me, but the pad see ew we ordered the other night seemed better than usual. Anyway, make some rice, have them deliver some chicken, and you're all set for a scrumptious night.

I have vacationed in Thailand many times and enjoyed the food there immensely. There is something about the spices there that make the food quality so unique. Chicken on Fire give me that taste again. Very good food for the price. Their restaurant don't have that great interior décor, but the good it excellent.

  • Sara L.

Good delivery. They serve grilled chicken with a citrus mojo-like sauce (a la El Pollo-type marinade), and they're also a Thai restaurant. Delivery was as stated, food was piping hot and tasty, the guy who delivered it was super nice. YUM!

I guaranty that this place has the best lunch specials in a 10 mile radius. there are so many Thai places where I work and this one is, by far, the best. on top of all that, i've never had a bad experience or any confusion with orders placed over the phone.

Coincidentally came here with my bro. The food is authentic Thai. Bomb!!! The bbq chicken is a must. Chicken is tender with just right flavor. The waitress is so nice and warm welcome. Will be back for sure. ^^

The food was pretty good, the ambiance not so much. We ordered the beef pad see ew and coconut chicken soup. The Pad See Ew was a little greasy but still yummy. The Coconut Chicken soup was delicious, it was very sweet and not too spicy. If I am in the neighborhood again, I would eat there again for sure.

Fantastic food with great service. Im this restro biggest fan. Been visiting and ordering delivery for a year now. Generally, every dish is above expectation tho my fav is the grilled chicken and the drunken noodles! Watch out! Those spicy delish Thai herbs might heat u right up in summer time!

I gave this place 2 stars because there is a 10$ min credit card charge , I ordered the orange chicken lets just say the sauce on it was good but that's about it , it was very crunchy and you can tell it was in the deep fryer too long. they gave my friend 1 lemon when she asked for extra lemon... Plus there was a crazy bum that came in and sat down and made a scene I was kinda scared the people that worked at the restaurant were cussing back at him when he was upset too . Vey awkward , overall the food was mediocre

I have driven past Chicken on Fire several times but have never walked in for a bite. Needless to say, I was starving so I decided to start scanning through my bookmarked restaurants on Yelp. I said to myself, I want something 'tastey,' filling, and of course convenient parking would be a plus. I decided to give this restaurant a try today and I am fully satisfied. I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken for $8.95 (I believe beef and shrimp is only $1 extra - a combo of the meats is $2). The food is well seasoned, fresh and delicious. There is also convening parking right in front of the restaurant. Great customer service and great food equals FIVE stars in my book! Enjoy.

Don't go here if you're looking for some beautiful decor. Do go here if you're looking to treat your tastebuds to some pleasure. I had the panang curry with chicken. My tastebuds hopes and dreams were not disappointed. I'm saying this having spent a month and a half in Thailand, too. Very nice staff that seem genuinely happy when you step inside. I don't remember the exact pricing but I think it was somewhere around $8-$9 for my curry. Not too bad considering the quality. I could see how if this place was near my house, it potentially could become a frequent delivery option.

I've ordered a few times for delivery from here but haven't gone in yet. But when I did go, I thought it was a cute place. I guess they just recently renovated? I was greeted with smiles and they were very friendly. I did a quick run early lunch to get some curry but decided to try their chicken. It wasn't dry (I'm especially picky with chicken) and decently priced. I got quick service and was able to be on my way. We've ordered the Thai dishes before and weren't disappointed with the flavor. The Panang Curry was simple, Basil Chicken was the right amount of spicy and flat noodles had no complaints. Recommended for a quick fix for delivery and early lunch! Everything is decently priced.

I had the half chicken with two sides and it was great! Chicken was tasty and the dipping sauce was very good. I also had a small cup of tom yum soup and egg fried rice. It was all really good. The staff was very friendly! I definitely will be back.

If you like eating healthy but still having mazing food with great customer service the place looks really clean. It looks family-owned but the place is really clean I'm a picky eater the chicken chow mein here is so delicious the vegetables are fresh and then they have the lunch special which is really good for the price I love how they just make the food right in front of you you can see the fresh vegetables and noodles and you can see them doing everything and then up to the point where they serve your food still you're able to see. Great for lunchtime and dinner they also do take out

I ordered delivery from here last night. It was amazing! I got the spicy flat noodle with chicken. The noodles didn't stick together like some other places and it was the perfect amount of spice and very flavorful! I haven't had the best experiences with Thai food here in LA and always crave the spots on the east coast (where I'm from), but, I was so pleasantly surprised! All in all: great food, fast delivery (I ordered on a Friday night) and very pleasant service!

I came in for the first time tonight and I like it. It's cheap but the grub is pretty good. The atmosphere is nothing special, like a cafeteria, so I can't recommend it as a date place. I read some of the negative reviews on Yelp, and now I think those people just might have been spoiled elitist folks who want everything done special just for them, then they b**ch when it doesn't go exactly their way. We are close to Beverly Hills, after all. Go figure.

Came here for lunch starving, it was either Thai, Italian, or Sushi ..as those are the only 3 choices of restaurants in the plaza next to 7-eleven. Walked in and was immediately greeted....got the lunch special only $6.95 (Basil Chicken?) It was delicious, portions are reasonable, and service was awesome. Will be back whenever I need a quick lunchhh :D

Today I came back to visit them again and I felt a bit understand in sometimes that they were so busy. food were still wonderful as usual. I asked them to use the restroom. For you guys information I guess, if you want to clean up your hand before or after your meal. The soap was kinda broken you need to press rapidly to get the soap. I understand that it's not convenient in some time, but I keep the logic that If I'm not happy, I'm not gonna go there over again. well how can I say, I still come here. the owners were so friendly :) they keep asking about how were we going about the food. It was impressive. I honestly to come back again if I have a chance. Thank you for everything.

The Chicken on Fire, is by far the stand out dish on their menu. The Pad Thai is solid and came loaded with Prawns. But other dishes like Cashew Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken were just okay. The only downside to the chicken on fire is that they cook a load and leave it heating on the grill until ordered. This can lead to somewhat dry chicken, but for less than $10 you get a full meal: Chicken, Salad and choice of Fried Rice, White Rice or Chow Mein. Plus great Sweet and Sour and hot sauce for dipping. So who's to complain? I could care less about bad customer service, which is really just honest customer service. So I don't care how staff treats me. But the dudes at Chicken on Fire are super nice, making you feel like you found a local neighborhood joint. Which is exactly what this place has become for me. If you want grilled chicken, don't waste your arteries on El Pollo Loco or KFC down the block. Instead get the always consistent Thai Chicken on Fire. You may not be blown away, but you'll never be disappointed.

Love this place, we never eat inside the resturant, and choose to order in, the pineapple fried rice is delicious, as is the satay, the peanut sauce is to die for. Great prices, big portions and perfect for take out/dinner in.

First let's clasify this place as a cheep eats dining location. It's in a strip mall so that sets the stage for you a bit. Now that we have made that clear, let's move on! :-) Order Pad Thai or Path see-iw and be delighted. I almost felt like I was eating street style thai dishes versus our american fine dining version. I have not had the chicken and may never try it as I like this place for the two aforementioned dishes. Cheers...

Let's first discuss the reasons to eat at this place: 1) It's called "Chicken on Fire" 2) uhhhhhhh So that is about it. After passing this place every single day I had to go in and give it a try. Let me set the scene: I walked in the front door and in front of me were two teens sitting atop a table playing x-box live (yelling battle missions into headphone/microphone devices). When I saw them put down their remotes and get behind the kitchen, I probably should have turned around, gotten in my car and let the teens get back to vitua-war. But no, I trudged ahead, ordered the chicken special, and watched GI Joe and friend get to action in the open kitchen. The chicken special was a half chicken warmed (it was precooked) over a gas grill. So how was it, you ask? Let's just say that it was not nearly as appealing as the chance of seeing this restaurant on fire. (super cheesy but I just could not resist!!)

Seni-spooky Thai joint in a strip mall. Brave the bum gauntlet in front of 7-11 and duck into this deserted eatery for a cleavered chicken with crispy skin - the specialite d' le maison. The guys who cook in the open kitchen are cool and friendly Thai dudes who kill the copious amounts of time between customers by playing video games until they have to "pause" and dash behind the counter to await your pleasure. I order the sphincter-brutalizing "Spicy Noodles" because I'm not very bright. Tastes a bit like grinding a pepper mill on your face or like tossing the devil's salad. For some reason I'm addicted to it. Cheap too! Yay for me! As of press time it has a "B" in the window which is kinda creepy but if you're buzzed and need to refuel...you could do worse. Hey...some people thrill-seek by jumping out of planes. I occasionally go to Chicken on Fire.

the chicken special is a great deal...half chicken, rice, and salad for $7. just make sure you ask for the chicken well done because they don't seem to cook it enough.
