My favorite deli in LA. Better than Greenblatt's, Label's and Langer's. Price is right and the meats are not overly fatty like some places. In need of a remodel so it is not getting that extra star for that reason but I guess people like its old charm.

Come here for drunchies from time to time. I get their Reuben or some other pastrami sandwich. The food is pretty good, kinda pricey though. The service isn't very consistent. Sometimes we're waiting forever and other times we're in and out in minutes. Once I asked one of the other servers to bring me something and he said he can't help me, I have to ask my server. Rude. I really like how they give us a bunch of yummy pickles though!

Best deli in LA when you factor in atmosphere. Great pastrami, corned beef and matzo ball soup. The bakery is also good. The prices are average for a deli. Everyone should come here at least once. Be advised that the lines can be long but the wait never seems that long.

Went back to Canter's again last night with my family. I have given them another star, mostly because of the Kibitz room. We ate dinner there this time, so I got a better feel for the place. Overall I was content with my food, and the service was ok. Nothing memorable. After dinner I stepped into the Kibitz room where a band was playing. That was pretty sweet. I guess there was some confusion and a very rude employee again last night, but not the same one from the last time. Canter's just really needs to work on their customer service and I think the whole experience would be significantly better.

Go to Lenny's, Billy's in Glendale, or Jerry's if you want a real Jewish deli. This place is the pits. The Reuben was loaded with fat and the rye was so soggy I had to throw it away. Service was terrible - waiter brought the food and told us he was going on break. We never saw him again and had to flag down someone else to get the check. Went to pay at the counter and they seemed upset that I used a groupon.

Great place to be. Historical LA Deli. Very unique atmosphere and large amount of food.

One of the best places I've eaten at. You can really taste the quality of the food and the service was really good. If you're looking for a place that's open until late this is the place to go. I'll forsure be coming here again!

I used to love this place, but am really just tired of the absolute poor level of customer service. Everyone here pretty much has an attitude and act as if you're lucky if they serve you, let alone acknowledge you when you walk in the door. Good luck if you're trying to do any type of pick-up order. 9 times out of 10, they'll tell you that they're " too busy" and then just hang up on you (if you're lucky enough for them to even answer) because writing down an order on a piece of paper is far too much to ask of them. Will definitely be taking my business elsewhere and letting others know. Also, their food is 50/50 on it's quality. Sometimes it's great, other times you get soggy old bread and almost no meat - just really depends when you order and I guess luck of the draw.

If you have ever seen an episode of Curb your Enthusiasm, then you have most likely seen Canters in the background. If you are obsessed with Larry David and love Jewish delis, then you must visit! The pastrami and corned beef was amazing! I had a Reuben and fries. Reubens happen to be a favorite of mine and this did not disappoint. Portions are huge. Love the pickles for the table. We also visited the bakery on the way out. Great black and white cookie and cherry Danish! If you want to have quick service or a cheat meal, this is not the place. If you want authentic LA diner food, this is it!

Who hasn't been to Canter's for a late-night meal after a club or bar?? It's part of the Hollywood nightlife experience. Their known for the roast beef sandwiches on rye. And although I feel they've fallen off a bit in making those famous sandwiches, Canter's is still good for a lot of things. I regularly order matzo ball soup, potato knish and potato pancakes. So good. So satisfying.... That's something totally Canter's IMO. Bakery section is also pretty good. The bagels are good but I'm partial to Diamond Bakery down the street. But I do love the mini black & white cookies. They are just right. So very good... So New York to me.

Absolutely a must if you are in the city of Hollywood! Open 24 hours a day with amazing food! A true Jewish delicatessen! I have the Matzo ball soup with a hearty warm chicken broth and a huge matzo ball right in the middle. It is served with bagel chips! Fantastic! Also, my sandwich of choice is the Jersey City, loaded with pastrami, ham, turkey, swiss cheese and Russian dressing! Served with a wonderful no mayo potato salad or coleslaw. Trust me. Make a visit to Canter's!

This place is as classic as a giant deli comes. Giant booths, giant menus, buckets of pickles, giant drinks, giant sandwiches and portions. This place is classic and great. It is open 24 hours, so the type of patrons vary based on the hour of day, from the elderly in the late morning for brunch to the drunks in the early morning for the drunk food. This place is classic, legendary (featured on a Guns N Roses album cover), and worth the hype! A true deli and LA landmark!

Park in the lot just ahead and get 1.5 hours free parking if you dine in the restaurant. Matzah ball soup was average. Not bad, not incredible. But holy cow, the corned beef and pastrami really are extraordinary. Service was attentive. Prices seemed a little steep. As another reviewer mentioned, the kitsch factor is great and it's still clean. The restrooms could definitely use a remodel, however! Wasn't able to sample any baked goodies on this trip but my mom has fond memories of their cookies and breads.

If you ever crave a Rueben Pastrami sandwich at 2 in the morning then this is your place!! I love the feel of this place, it has this old Hollywood mystic to it. There's drafts coming from areas where there's no vents. A lot of the servers are old and really friendly. The matzah ball soup is good. They have complimentary pickles and through Yelp when you check in you get free chocolate chip rugula, it's great with a cup of joe.

Hey this place is a giant butt. The service is pretty bad and I think my server smoked meth at one point in her life. I decided to skip breakfast and get a BBQ chicken sandwich and it was dryer than my 67 year old grandmother. The only reason this place got more than one star is because they brought a shitty cupcake out for my friends birthday. Although they totally got it from Food4Less it's the thought that counts right? This place isn't good. Or maybe I just should've gotten breakfast. Either/or please don't hire meth heads to bring me my food. Or maybe just make better sandwiches. Love, Miles
