Best Thai restaurant around by far! Everything on the menu I've tried so fast is FABULOUS! The staff is always friendly and the food is always good.

Fresh and delicious food. They customize for vegan and vegetarian people. Loved it. Yellow curry and veg fried rice were awesome. Coming again !!!
(5)Kats B.
The service here is very good! The young people very nice! I was starving when we arrived so The Man & I ordered Thai Ice Tea of course & a combo appetizer. It was very good light crisp batter, not greasy. The tea was very good! I only wish I had more. :) On a personal note the spring rolls tasted a bit too "fishy" but that's a personal preference. They were still nice crisp well done. Right after we ordered a group of 20 came in and still we didn't feel neglected. I always order curry it's a basic anyone can make curry. I've learned to order mild so I don't lose my taste buds. The first thing I noticed was how thick the curry sauce was. Second was it was mild no spice to it!! I could have ordered medium or hot perhaps. The thickness of the sauce became an issue as it left a residual after taste of flour--- rice flour or other thickening agent. Which ultimately was a major turn off for me. Over all it was a pleasant experience. I would go back I wouldn't order curry though. I would ask more questions such as how how is it? :) I would also pay more attention to what the the specialities are. The Man has decided to write his own reviews --- trying to upstage me... For not including him often enough.

Herb home is one of my favorite Thai places. That being said I will only order it togo. The few times I have eaten there, the service is terribly slow and not always that friendly. The one server /cashier just doesn't have time to focus on the customers. Other than that the food is great. The vegetarian egg rolls and the yellow curry is wonderful.
(4)Renzo M.
I have been to Thailand and this was made and prepared just like Thailand. It's almost like being back in Pattaya all over again. Also the waitress (from Laos) made my visit very enjoyable at lunch. Can't wait to go back again.
(4)Zeke A.
This place is amazing. Yes it is an old Taco Bell location but the food is amazing. Not your typical Lompoc place to eat. I have eaten different places in the city when I visit, but this is by far the best food in the city. Careful, some plates are big. Don't order to much.
(4)Kim K.
I loved this Thai restaurant. The green papaya salad, fresh Thai coconuts and pad Thai were delicious. The ingredients were fresh with Thai spices and vegetables. I am vegan and they were very accommodating with tons of options!
(4)Stella L.
The food here is ok, however the girl waitress sucks, her atitude was really bad. We asked for hot tea like 30 mins ago, she never brought it. Moreover, she really made our order late. she sucks!
(3)Martin D.
Pad Thai with tofu was good. Wasn't the best I've ever had but it definitely hit the spot. Atmosphere inside was nice and calm, they had jazz music playing, and the one waitress working was very nice and helpful. I travel a lot for work and thai food is usually always a safe bet. I definitely wasn't disappointed here. I would return for more tofu pad Thai.
(4)Jim B.
Okay, only one star off when they served our food all screwed up (niece got her entree after the rest of us were finished) because the food was really quite awesome. I guess I should give them 2 stars off, but they know the spicy. It was perfectly spicy/sweaty and exactly the level we asked for & wanted - challenging, but palatable. (we like spicy - nom nom nom) Of course, we ordered what we thought was more food than we'd eat expecting to have leftovers, but it was so good we finished it all - and then had no room for sticky rice for dessert. :(

a good solid spot for Thai in Lompoc. Out of the 4 we have in town this is #3, I would put Suvans as #1 for when they are on it is amazing. Original Thai (Thai Cuisine) as #2, and Herb Home as #3... the reason is that Herb home is a little spendy for the size of portions, which I can over look if they had seasoning. Too many dishes are bland, or overly sweet. Their curry is crazy sweet which I can stand! stuffed chicken wings were mega bland. I do love the atmosphere here though. Best Thai spot for a date!
(3)Jeannie C.
We love this place because the food is DELICIOUS and authentic and the prices are affordable. It's comparable to the great authentic restaurants they have in Los Angeles, a great find for this small town.
(5)Meghan S.
This was a great little restaurant. The inside is nicely decorated and very bright from the white walls. The service was great and promp. Our orders were almost correct, but it wasn't something to fuss about. The portions are great too. I really appreciated the flavors of the dishes I got to try. This is def a little gem in Lompoc and even if you don't love Thai food, you'll find something here to eat!
(4)Megan S.
It actually wasn't bad at all. The food was good and kind of on the pricey side. But they made their food out of natural and organic ingredients, so it is not pricey at all for that type of food. I had yellow chicken curry. The dinner special is pretty reasonable. You get soup or salad, egg roll and wontons, and an entree with rice for $9.50. That is a lot of food.
(3)Brian C.
The staff waits on and serves tables randomly. We had a hair in one dish, and while they replaced it, there was no acknowledgment that there was a screw up or apology. They charged $3 for a toddler to eat jarred Gerber food. Food is usually really good, so we'll stick to take out in the future as this was our second poor experience in the restaurant.
(2)Ryan W.
Great authentic food at this place. I had a som Tom and Massaman curry. They were able to deliver authentic taste and heat! I love to sweat it out and they didn't disappoint. My friends pad Thai was a bit sweet for my likings. Unfortunately the Muzak was annoying. Quick kitchen and kind service. Looks like a thai market is just down the block too.
(4)Brian G.
I always order Seafood yellow curry fried rice. My wife and kids get sweet and sour chicken/shrimp. Everything is always very good. We come here about 2 or 3 times per month. The food here is a couple steps up from basic Thai. Fresh, quality ingredients are a staple. You will pay a little bit more here than your average Thai restaurant, but the quality of the dishes make it worth it.
(5)Michele D.
Found this little gem on a trip up north. The food was excellent! Service was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. We will absolutely come back.
(5)T G.
This place is the bomb! I really enjoyed my meal and the quiet ambience. It is a nice place to eat Thai food. I feel healthy after I eat their meals. I really recommend their red curry. I think the prices are fair because the quality of the food is stellar.
(5)Ana B.
The noodle soup is amazing! I've tried shrimp and chicken, both were so good. I added a little bit of red pepper, because I'm a spicy lover. Egg rolls are yummy. The tropical Thai tea was also pretty good. I'd say it takes a longer time to get your food than other restaurants...But in the end definitely worth the wait.
(4)Ian M.
I've always enjoyed the meals that I've gotten here, usually after a day in the wine ghetto. The decor is surprisingly well-done and well kept up and it does a good job of hiding the fact that it was once a fast-food establishment without going through some sort of costly interior makeover. The food arrives promptly and is very delicious. Spicy basil fried rice is excellent here!
(5)Sierra B.
This place is amazing! I've been in lompoc for almost a year and the herb home is the best place in town to eat. It's always consistent food and service and I haven't tried anything I haven't loved! You have to try the gold bags, massamam curry, pad-see-ew, and the spicy fried rice! Eat and enjoy, take out is always fantastic too
(5)Eli V.
Maybe not the best Thai I've had but definitely up there. Food tastes very fresh. The place is very clean and service is friendly.
(4)George L.
Delicious food. Service was great. The atmosphere isnt the greatest but they have made what used to be a taco bell into a worthy restaurant. The tom yum gai was one of the best I've had. Spicy, sour and the chicken was perfectly tender. The eggplant was amazing. The sauce that is used is very tasty with the perfect amout of heat and salt. Worth your time to visit and worth your dollar.
(5)Adam E.
Excellent food and service. We're quick to bring the food out, and everything was delicious. The spring rolls were a standout.
(4)Steve I.
Ordered yellow curry chicken, eggplant salad, and larb with beef, along with some extra rice. All three items were outstanding. Service was friendly, prompt, and efficient. The decor was very tastefully done, and was easily the most attractively repurposed Taco Bell I've ever seen.
(5)Claudia S.
Went based on the recommendations from Yelp and they were right on. The food was delicious. I could easily eat an entire order of the Tom Yum Goong Soup -- it was so good! Also, bathroom was very clean, which is always a plus!
(4)Hilary S.
I have had take out several times and have never been disappointed. The food is always fresh, large portions, and on time. Very pleasant staff. You won't be disappointed.
(5)Justin L.
The food at Herb Home is great but the service is terrible. I come here once or twice a month and every time I wait at least 30-40 minutes for my food. As a paying customer you shouldn't have to flag the waitress down after 10 minutes to ask for water. I gave 3 stars because the larb is the best in town, but to be honest I will probably make at home from now on.
(3)Jarrett M.
Best Thai place around, super fresh ingredients. Great food takes patience food doesn't come out fast but it is worth the wait. The owner is the only one that takes your order that way there is no misunderstanding and your order is always right. If you love Thai food this is the place come.
(5)Russ R.
Tried again and what a disappointment. Went for lunch and ordered from that still huge confusing menu, but this time I asked the server about one of the dishes. It said the noodles were fried, so I wanted to know if they were like the crispy noodles you can buy at the store in a can, because I dislike those. She simply said they were fried. We ordered them with other items and when they arrived they were exactly like the ones you buy in a can, what a disappointment. Anyway, she never came back to see if we liked everything. Again a poorly trained server. I didn't touch that plate so just paid the bill and left. I seriously doubt I will return anytime soon. These guys need to wake up, train their staff, and shorten their menu. Some of their food is ok, but unless you know what everything is in each dish I would find another place to eat.
(2)Korene D.
Ordered the Cashew Chicken (new for us from Herb Home) and Green curry (have had from them many times and always loved). Well this time the green curry was not so yummy. Everything was mushy, like it had been way overcooked. Just meh. However, the cashew chicken was fabulous. Will still be going back, just might stick with the pineapple curry.
(4)L R.
We enjoyed dinner at Herb Home on June 3rd, 2014. The restaurant was very clean, the server attentive and the food was excellent. Two suggestions.......the dogs were outside but the door left open and blocked and windows dirty. The price was very reasonable. I would venture to say that this is one of the best restaurants in the area.
(5)Ariel O.
I've been going here since they opened a couple years ago. I'm still in there about once every other week. I often get yellow curry. I bring all my friends there because I love their food and think its affordable! The staff know me and what I order and are always incredibly friendly.
(5)Trisha G.
Went there today for the first time with my friend for lunch. I ordered the pad Thai. It was alright. Nothing overly special. Had some herbs, not much chicken or egg as I would have liked. Didn't have too many veggies which was disappointing. My friend ordered the yellow curry with brown rice. She only ordered medium heat, and it was so hot her eyes watered. She still tried to enjoy it. She said the brown rice was different, but very good, not sure what was mixed with it. the atmosphere was nice. seemed to me that after putting money into preparing it to open, they kinda just let the upkeep go. chipped dishes being used to serve food, stained and dirty seat cushions. also, service wasn't so great. never really checked up on us, good thing we didn't have any issues. the Thai iced coffee was delicious tho!
(3)Amanda G.
One of my favorite places to go. The owner always remembers my order and is super friendly.
(4)April Q.
I had a to-go order of thai curry and it did not disappoint - very plentiful on veggies and on protein.. delicious flavor... nice, sticky rice. Plus, their staff was super quick and the place looked like it had a very clean kitchen and the kind of place I'd like to return to. So, I'm glad I found a good stop to eat Thai at when in Lompoc.
(4)Christina B.
I really enjoy this place and the atmosphere is nicer than the other Thai places in town. I also like that they offer brown whole grain rice as an alternative to white. I have tried many of their items and almost everything has been great. Not a fan of their side of soup or salad dressing though.
(4)Diane C.
Very tasty thai food. Food was served in good timing. Pad see yew was delicious. They have really good thai beef Jerry too. Very nice atmosphere as well.
(4)Kavya M.
This is the best Thai food I ever had. It is just Awesome !! Loved the food !!
(5)Brittany N.
I'm giving this place an extra star because I LOVE their spicy pad Thai, but the last two times I've ate here I had hair in my food. :( I also think the staff can be more attentive to their customers.
(2)Ben A.
This place is new, some minor mishap such as my wife ordered shrimp phad thai, they gave her pork phad thai instead. Small portions compare to other thai resto here in Lompoc. Sodas are in can, I'm not sure if there's a refill, but it is a $1.50 soda in can. The food tastes good but not big enough for my appetite, I think they called my dietician, lol. Fast service, the fried rice seems to be pre-cooked, unlike the other resto in the area. One of the server here also works at one of the thai resto in Lompoc, funny huh! Clean, I hope they can maintain the cleanliness. It didn't smell at first like you're at one of the asian resto where you smell like you are one of the cook, but I was wrong. When I got home few minutes later I have to change my shirt. I am not planning of going back there again, maybe after eating a buffet...
(3)Aj M.
My husband is a bad orderer and got the teriyaki tofu and it was just ok. I ordered the mixed vegetable red curry with tofu. The flavor and freshness of the vegetables was outstanding! I definitely picked a winner. Both of I got the dinner special for $9.95 and each got soup or salad, an egg roll, 2 wontons (just okay since they were very light on the stuffing), and the entree with choice of fried rice, jasmine or brown rice. The portion size was perfect and atmosphere and service was good.
(4)Wes H.
Green curry and the ginger chicken are spectacular. This place can be a little slow on busy days and nights, but I am a big fan and will continue eating here as often as I can. The owner and chefs care and it really shows. I am a foodie to the hilt and have eaten at starred Michelin restaurants in more than 10 countries. This place is legit--not the second coming, but delicious. The honey duck curry was also very good.
(4)Ashleigh L.
Yes! I loved this place what a pleasant surprise in little ole Lompoc! Perfect portions and a great price! Pineapple curry was amazing!
(5)EJ T.
Just had a great dinner. We ordered: - Dinner special with appetizers, a small bowl of soup, and a rice dish - Shrimp spring rolls - Noodle soups (seafood and chicken) We loved the spring rolls. A tad pricey but extremely fresh and tasty. My rice dish had stir fried mixed vegetables with fried tofu and brown rice. It was delicious. Light yet satisfying. One tip is if you don't like to have sauce in your rice, then request to have the rice come in a separate dish. The sauce was very flavorful but I would prefer not to have too much in my rice. The soup that came with it was very good also. The appetizers were 2 pieces of fried wonton and 1 egg roll. We liked the spring rolls much more. The noodle soups were good too. I didn't give 5 stars because the noodles in one of the noodle soups were a bit under cooked. The restaurant was clean and modern. We arrived shortly after 5 pm and the service was good. It's a rare gem in Lompoc. We will definitely be back.

This is my first review on yelp. I have been using yelp a lot in the last couple if years and have always found the reviews helpful and mostly accurate and have been wanting to make a login for a while and finally decided to...anywho... We found this restaurant on yelp of course after going to a different place that we found on yelp and decided not to go in. while waiting fire a table we liked the way the set up was and had a chafe to watch sine of the food come or and it looked just as the pictures on the internet. Some very interesting dishes came out. I also liked that they have some wines available from the area and if you have been here before you know that wine is a big here. The service is good, the prices are reasonable, the crowd is very casual. The food comes out at a decent "pace", the menu is big and there us a lot to choose from all of which looks very good. I got the pineapple fried rice which had cashews in it. The portions where big and it tasted great. The only thing I found wired was that you have to go outside and aid back to use the bathroom which you need to ask for the key for our have one of the waiters go meet you and open the door. My wife was frighten ass she came out and a guy was standing there waiting to use the restroom...kinda weird and scary. The white zinfandel they had was good. All in all even with the bathroom situation we will be coming back again, and would recommend to others. Hope this wasn't to long of a review and hope this helpa someone in the future.

Our review of Herb Home Thai Restaurant Appearance: Previously this was a Taco Bell restaurant evident by the typical adobe style with arches and bell tower on the top. However they have claimed it is as their own decorating with tactful photos of fresh herbs and spices. Other than the random photo of Kurt Russell affixed on the wall, we found the space both modern and comfortable. Service: We were immediately greeted and seated. The waitress came over quickly to take our order, and checked back a few minutes later when we said we needed more time. We were not waiting long for our food to arrive. Food: We came twice. 1st visit: appetizer: golden pillows with cheese sounded interesting and was fantastic. My companion ordered the yellow curry with white fish (delicious) also came with a warm cucumber soup which was unusual and also delicious. I ordered beef with ginger (tasty) the meat was okay. Our friend ordered a vegetable dish with a succulent sauce and requested duck, which they complied. This was fantastic. 2nd visit: we ordered larb (ground pork) salad and requested it mild. There was so much chili in it we asked them to remake it as originally ordered: mild. It came back but lacked flavor. We tried to duplicate the duck that our friend ordered at our previous visit and struck out. (This duck didn't quack ;( Summary: Overall the place is wonderful. We are planning to go back and try it again. We live in Santa Barbara and go to the wine ghetto: a perfect place to go after a day of wine tasting. (They do have a good wine list by the glass or bottle)

I love this place and order take-out here about once a week! The food is really fresh and not greasy, which isn't the case at a lot of Thai restaurants. My favorites: - Green Curry with beef or chicken - Vegetarian spring rolls - Green papaya salad (which is always spicy even if you order it mild) - Bamboo shoots -Flat noodle thingy with beef, broccoli and bean sauce (no idea what it's called but they always seem to know what I mean) I always like to order the brown rice and I can't find this kind of rice anywhere -- it's nutty and reddish in color and delicious -- but you have to ask for it instead of white. This place is legit, so if you say spicy it will burn your head off (and I put siracha on everything), so I order medium or mild and get the extra spice on the side. They have fish sauce with thai chiles and if you put a little of this on your food it will blow your mind! So make sure to ask for water too! You can bring in your own wine too for a $5 corkage, so all you Wine Ghetto visitors from LA pissed off that Lompoc doesn't have good food, head to Herb Home with a bottle of Palmina Malvasia Bianca (or anything from the wine ghetto since they all rock), RELAX (service can be a little slow so just chill out and drink), and prepare to be blown away for a third of what it costs at a fancy restaurant.
(5)Katie G.
Full Disclosure: I don't like Thai food, so take that for what it's worth. However, my husband does. We come to Herb Home because it has things that we both like. He loves many of their curry dishes, while I can get one of several different veggie or chicken plates- all of which are very good! Their dinner specials come with a soup or salad, an egg roll, and a couple of wontons. I loveeeee their egg rolls. The only reason I bumped it down a star is that it can be very slow. If you are not in a rush, just go and enjoy dinner. But there is usually only one person who takes orders. Also, several other people addressed the bathroom situation. It's kind of scary. In all, there aren't a lot of places in Lompoc that serve vegetables, and we really like this place.
(4)joy h.
Egg rolls were really good....soup had a strange taste to it??

Have been going to another Thai restaurant in Lompoc, when a friend recommended Herb Home. Do not be fooled by the old taco bell building. When you walk into the restaurant you will be surprised on how modern and clean it is. We had old favorites chicken chow mein, yellow curry with chicken and an order of wontons (chicken filling). All three were delicious. All positives for the flavors and outcome of our food. Did I mention they have sticky rice available daily? I don't have to wait for Friday anymore. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because I had the order to go and specifically asked for the sweet chili sauce for the wontons and the server told me they were in the to go box and they were not. Wish I would have double checked before I left the restaurant as I live 30 minutes away and was not going back for sauce.
(4)Linda R.
Some of the freshest tasting food I've had. Everything was seasoned beautifully.
(5)Francesca L.
Not a fan. Came in on Saturday night for dinner with the bf, after 7:30, they were busy, they ended up sitting us at a couch. They told us, "oh it'll be so comfortable, like you're at home" We were hungry, so we said fine, but it seemed they forgot about us. Finally a girl comes and brings us water, ok but what about our order? Then 5 minutes later a different girl tells us to move somewhere else. She didn't grab our menus for us, or carry our waters, it was very odd. As we are looking around, it seems there is only 1 waitress and the rest are bus-girls/drink refillers. Finally the waitress comes and we've been ready for over 30 minutes. Ok, I want som tum (green papaya salad). She proceeds to go on a rant about she can't buy it, and she drove to LA blah blah blah. I am so disappointed. I put my face in my hands, "OMG I can't believe this!!!" She says, ok ok let me check, let me just see. Of course she comes back and says they have ONE LEFT. Really? How did you not know that? How did this one magically appear? Ok fine. The papaya salad was ok, nothing special. For my meal I had a noodle soup with beef--kinda like pho except thicker noodles. It was so salty. I asked her for lime, and it helped a bit, but still not very good. The beef inside was very tender and flavorful, but it was hard to get over the saltiness. Overall the restaurant looks stylish, but the service is erratic, and food is only so-so. We'll see.

I've eaten here twice now. Once for take out. And again this evening for dinner. Tonight I had the veggie egg rolls for an appetizer. Then the BBQ pork skewers and rice for my main meal. Everything was freshly prepared and cooked just right. The only thing that I would change would be that I would order regular steamed rice instead of the sticky rice that comes with the BBQ pork. It just clumps together and you wind up eating a big sticky rice ball. This place has only been open a few months now. But they have a good following already. They have been busy on both my visits. The restaurant is very clean. And you can see the whole kitchen behind the large glass windows that separate the kitchen from the dining area. I'm not a very adventurous diner when it comes to Thai food. But I do plan to go back and try something new. The portions are not too big, which I like. Just right for me. And the prices seem fair for what you get. Try the Thai iced tea. Very tasty and refreshing. I has two! The staff is very polite and attentive. I'll be back.
(4)Amy S.
$$ Clean place. Had dinner special with soup of the day (wonton soup- tiny, but tasty); two fried wontons and one veggie egg roll (delicious). Entree was yellow chicken curry (yummy) and chicken pad thai (okay)- good sizes for both.
(4)Renee T.
Had an exceptional dining experience here last night. Mouthwatering food. I finished everything on my plate (which is not normal for me) and I was left wanting more of the amazing flavors provided by the sweet and sour chicken, lemon vegetable soup, fried wontons and egg roll. My husband was very pleased with his phad Thai. The ambience was great. Very relaxing and calming despite being a small restaurant with open space. The dinner specials are a steal. We will definitely be back to try more dishes from this amazing little restaurant.
(5)Nicole F.
I wish Yelp would allow half-stars. I'd give this place 3.5. First off, what cracked me up about this place is the building. It appears to be in a building that used to be a Taco Bell. Or, at least a building that's in your typical old-school Taco Bell style with the arched front windows and brick-style facade. Anyhoo. The service was great and the menu was pretty extensive. It's nice that you have vegetarian options for everything! We ordered a Pad Thai dinner combo and a Ginger dinner combo. The combos come with two fried wontons, an egg roll, a salad, and your entree comes with either jasmine or fried rice. You can even get your wontons and egg rolls with no meat...a true rarity. Though, the wontons came with just peas and carrots, which I wasn't crazy about, but the good news it that my kid LOVES her some frozen veggies, so she loved the wontons. The salad dressing was amazing...don't know what it was, but it was sweet and delicious! Honestly, if you can make an iceberg lettuce/cabbage/carrot salad mix taste decent, then that's pretty good dressing. As I mentioned, the wontons were weird. The egg roll was good. I enjoyed the fried rice with my Pad Thai noodles. The noodles were on par with what I'm used to. The ginger (tofu) was good. I would have preferred the veggies to be cooked a little softer, but I thought the taste was pretty good. Also, kudos to this place for giving you a carafe of water to keep at the table. It makes my life easier.
(3)Naomi S.
Love this place! I recommend their lunch/dinner specials - you get soup or salad, an egg roll, a couple of crispy wontons, and an entree for a really great price - $10-$12. I've tried several of their entrees this way and the only one I didn't care for was just too spicy for me. Otherwise, their dishes are flavorful, colorful, and def worth the wait. That said, just a heads up that there's only one person (owner?) that seems to be allowed to take your order. So if it's a busy night (which it usually is), I suggest you place a phone order and take it out. (You get pretty big portions this way anyway.) The soups are simple and delicious and their calamari appetizer is amazing. The Thai iced tea can be a hit or a miss - sometimes just way too sweet. But if you ask them to add more tea to balance it out, they're very accommodating.

I come here once a week and get the seafood noodle soup(egg noodle) in the brooth. The rice noodle is delicious as well.

This is my first yelp review, I've always been a taker/receiver of reading reviews because I trust yelp but because this is the restaurant that makes me feel it deserves a good review, here I am... First of all, wow the food was really good!!! Had the chicken yellow curry, mixed vegetables, and padt Thai noodles... I cleaned my plate!!! It is the best Thai food in town by miles, however it gets busy so be careful of service wait (however, a busy restaurant is always a good sign for me)... It's a mom and pop family owned restaurant and I get that feel... Also, the portion sizes are average to lower than what I'm used to (that's the only downside)... Anyways, I'll be sure to visit the restaurant many more times :)
(5)Jennifer C.
Want to give this place 4 stars for the food but 2 stars for service. Loved everything we ate except the chicken skewers appetizer. Chicken was very dry. The chicken wings appetizer and the fried wontons were amazing! The wonton soup was delicious although we had to send our bowls back because there were no wontons in them the 1st time they brought them out! I ordered the sweet and sour pork dinner special. It was awesome but the egg fried rice it came with was cold and dry. The dipping sauce for the egg rolls is amazing (as well as the egg rolls). The drinks situation needs improvement. Sodas came in the can at $1.50 and no refill. No drink offering for kids. And the only tea refill they give is Lipton Iced Tea. Definitely go for the food just watch out for the service and make sure you get what you ordered. It's nice to have some new variety in Lompoc.
(3)Ashley B.
Excellent food, friendly staff, quaint and cozy atmosphere.
(5)Steve D.
What a great addition to Lompoc and H Street. The new owners have created a wonderful environment. The dining area is bright and fresh. The first surprise is when the menu appears. It looks like it was purloined from a large, very upscale restaurant in the big city. The selections are overwhelming. I settled on the complete dinner which came with an egg roll, soup or salad , main dish and rice (3 choices) The food was good and arrived promptly . I thought it was just a tiny bit bland, but otherwise excellent. With the large variety of dishes it is really a restaurant to share with a group of friends. They offer a few wines by the glass and a larger selection by the bottle. It's nice to go to a restaurant without a tv for a change. The hard surfaces and bright lights discourage intimate conversations, unless you want advice from the next table or to be the subject of the next PTA meeting. Considering the time they have been open the restaurant is doing remarkably well. There's a number of Thai restaurants and Lompoc but I think this is the best.

My husband and I love Southeast Asian Food, so we decided to give Herb Home a try. First, the owners have done an impressive job with a former Taco Bell location. The ambiance is clean, spare and modern. The only drawback is that the restroom is outside, which I'm not fond of. We ordered vegetarian spring rolls to start. They were decent, but not the best I've had. The peanut sauce which accompanied them was quite cloyingly sweet. My husband had the Dinner Special with Pineapple Curry with beef. The rice which accompanied his dish was quite nice. A plus for this establishment is that three kinds of rice are offered, Jasmine, White, and Brown. We found the curry to be decent, but not spectacular. His dinner special included a small salad with mostly ice berg lettuce, an egg roll which was very good, and two wantons. Portion size was just right. I ordered the Larb, which is actually a dish from Laos. I was disappointed in the texture of the beef, as well as the fact that the dish seemed rather greasy. When I've had Larb before, sticky rice is usually served, along with cucumbers and crushed peanuts. Not so here. I would like to return and try some of the vegetarian dishes, which looked quite good. My overall take is that this is a good choice for those with a blander palate or children. There were many kids eating, and they seemed very happy. Americanized thai food for the masses.

Last night my Beautiful Girlfriend and I decided after many months of driving past the Herb Home Thai Restaurant that we should go ahead and try it. Sounded right.. close to home.. as we walked in, we were not greeted but told to wait for a server to sit us down as the young lady went back to "Texting" whomever she was in deep convo with on her bedazzled iphone.. Finally we sat down and were handed a beautiful menu with colors and dishes. but seemed to be the size of the actual dinner table! They were Huge!!! so the selection took forever!! (almost a novel!) We decided on the sweet and sour chicken and fried rice special.. Now I can not knock the food! Won tons, eggroll, and the actual dish was flipping awesome!!! but the service unfortunately sucked.. A shy girl who waited on us brought us our food but never asked if we could use anything such as napkins, i guess we were supposed to wipe our hands on our clothes, our refreshments showed up.. in a Can.. (7up) wtf?!? and the salad was not good at all.. yuck! all in all the decor of the old Taco bell now Herb Home is amazing... Nice view of the kitchen.. everything was in order and clean.. spacious.. but damn the bathroom was outside and around the corner! uggh!! So this experience I'm going to rate it a 2 star.. great food.. lousy service.. Get a drink dispenser? and check your staff... Thanks!

I've lived in Lompoc a very long time and have been hopeful that more restaurants with healthy choices would open. While not everything on the menu is healthy, it is easy to find plates with lots of fresh veges. Also, no matter what I've ordered is tastes very fresh and the serving sizes always allow me to take home a second meal in a box. The servers are very pleasant and the prices are reasonable.

For Lompoc, it's a decent alternative to Suvan's. The interior looks clean & spacious, but they may need to place a bigger sign outside - hard to notice it's there. The restroom is accessed thru outside - although it was in ok shape inside, it's like roadside gas station bathrooms. The food is decent. Pad Thai is sub-par, green curry was ok, another dish we got was flavorless, but shrimp fried rice was good. You may want to skip Thai iced coffee. It's too sweet, and lacks that intense coffee taste - the owner said that it's more authentic, and others just add more coffee. Well, I think I prefer 'unauthentic' Thai iced coffee, then. My biggest gripe is that they are SLOW. It took 30 minutes from the time that we ordered until we got our food (in addition to waiting for our waitress). 3 of 4 dishes were lunch special, and the other was fried rice. It shouldn't have taken that long, especially during lunch hour. They had one hostess and only one waitress working. But I think it would speed things up by having two waitresses.

Great place to eat in Lompoc. Four of us ate here this evening at the recommendation of a friend and it was a fantastic experience. Seating was quick, the service was attentive/friendly/knowledgeable, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was very, very good. From appetizer to entree, each dish was full of flavor and made precisely to order. Furthermore, I was pleasantly surprised as to how refreshing everything tasted. From my experience, items like stuffed wontons, eggrolls, and fried noodles tend to have a "heavy" taste to them, but the dishes we ordered were light, crispy, and didn't leave you with the sneaking suspicion that you'd have to consider cholesterol medication afterward. Ultimately, I loved the place and will definitely stop by when I visit Lompoc again. If you're in the area and want quick, delicious, and refreshing Thai food, then this is the place to go.

Food is ok here, really nothing better then the rest of the Thai food restaurants in town. The decor is great though! Best ambiance in town. The prices are a bit high for portion size on some dishes. What bugs me is that they print on their menus and their front door "free delivery", but in reality they don't deliver... ever. So if I have to drive for Thai food I'll goto Suvans for better food.

Yes, this place is the high end of moderate for Lompoc but the ambiance and the seating is nice. There is even a lounge that makes for a great place for a small group to hang out and snack. The food is clean, bright and very fresh. They grow their own seasonings and garnish. Portions are good but not too much where you feel over stuffed afterwards. We eat at the Thai Fast Food if its just us and want to save a buck, but when taking friends out or celebrating a small victory this place is a nice retreat for something special.

Great food. I love what this place has to offer the area. It is not only yummy Thai food they are serving. Their menu is probably the best in the area. Their menu is like a book full of options and pictures. Hello, who else has pictures on their menu?! Some of my favorites there are their Noodle soups with rice noodle and I add chicken. Amazing. I usually don't order egg rolls but after hearing that theirs were exceptional, I tried them and now I can not go there with out having at least one! They have so many options here. The restaurant is always very clean, and they are generous with their veggies in their dishes unlike a lot of other places in the area.

The food here was great. I had the Pad Thai and it had a lot flavor. I also loved the decor. Such a fresh new look to a building that used to be a Taco Bell. Lompoc needs more restaurants like this one. The hubby is already talking about going back or getting food delivered. As for service, all the employees we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. All around good experience.

Great food, nice decor, friendly staff. Nice to see this old building renovated into such a quaint restaurant.

Tried this restaurant for the first time at lunch. The food was excellent!! I had combination fried rice and my friend ha pad thai. We both were really happy with the flavor. My only "complaint" is that they need more tables (perhaps instead of the couch/waiting room). I also agree with other reviews that portions seemed a little small.

The fried wontons were amazing. Crispy crunchy goodness. And the sauce they had on the table I wanted to take it home and keep it. I had the pineapple rice it took awhile for them to make it but it was worth the wait. I got a lot of rice and they didn't skimp on the added things like raisins cashews pineapple. I would def come here again.

Been here a few times now and after my latest visit, I'm not sure I want to go back. Their customer is service is VERY POOR; when it isn't busy, waitresses are still incredibly slow from taking orders, to refilling water glasses, to giving your check, and to giving your card back. Their Golden Bag appetizers don't look anything like the pictures, and I'm pretty sure they weren't prepared with all the ingredients the menu said it would have. The first time I went, I ordered BBQ chicken to go----DON'T ORDER TO-GO UNLESS IT'S SOMETHING LIKE CURRY because the chicken or any of the meat will be REALLY dry if it isn't a more liquid/soupy dish. The second time I went, I ordered the same dish but in the restaurant and it wasn't as dry then---tasted completely different. Their yellow curry dish is pretty good, but I also tried the Honey Duck Roast curry and I don't know if it's normal for them, but besides the pieces of duck meat they had in the bowl, there were also just chunks of duck fat at the bottom. I didn't realize it until I bit into them and it tasted awful, and the texture ruined the dish. I was pretty ticked off by the end of the night because they seemed to do a lot of things wrong so I left a few notes on the receipt. I don't know if they would actually read them. I don't mean to be rude but when customer service is poor and they write you off/take their time whenever you try to get their attention, satisfaction levels are down.

I came here after visiting several San Francisco Asian eateries (thereby spoiled with so many yummy authentic Asian restaurants) with no expecations. It was recommended by a local business in the area. The quality of the ingredients, the authenticity of the food preperation and execution was through and through Thai! I have been to Bangkok and Chang Mai and took a cooking course in Chang Mai-one of the recipes I picked was Green Papaya Salad -deliciously light and full of spice and flavor. I asked for it "thai spicy" and man oh man did they deliver-it was SO good. They mentioned that the green papaya had to be purchased from a supplier in LA (darn it- I live in SLO) so the likliehood of me finding green papaya near home and using my Thai cooking class recipe book is small-so I ordered extras to go to enjoy at mi casa. My colleague had a sweet n sour soup that was out of this world in flavor and we were overall really impressed with the quality and the value of our wonderful meal. Service was excellent. We will be back-HIGHLY recommend! BTW they are planning on opening another location in SB or Santa Maria.

Considering it is in an old Taco Bell building, it was pretty nice inside. I've only been once and ordered the Pad Thai, healthy portion and excellent tasting.
